- 0:01Speaker 1: Please raise your right hand and repeat after me, I,
- 0:04Speaker 1: Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear, I.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Donald John Trump, do solemnly swear that.
- 0:10Speaker 3: I will faithfully execute.
- 0:12Speaker 1: That I will faithfully execute the office of President of
- 0:16Speaker 1: the United States, the office of President of the United States,
- 0:20Speaker 1: and will to the best of my ability.
- 0:23Speaker 2: And will, to the best of my ability.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Preserve, protect and defend, deserve, protect, and defend the Constitution
- 0:30Speaker 3: of the United States.
- 0:31Speaker 2: The Constitution of the United States.
- 0:33Speaker 3: So help me, God, So help me God.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Congratulations specifically, well, today I'm one leg up with Alex Garrett.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I cannot hide the fact that I am very, very
- 0:49Speaker 3: inspired today by what I saw in the second inaug
- 0:54Speaker 3: girl a dressed by President Trump.
- 0:57Speaker 5: And let me tell you, I'm very excited today.
- 0:58Speaker 3: This is like Chris morning, if I'm honest with you,
- 1:02Speaker 3: because the fact is the hands have now switched to
- 1:08Speaker 3: now the forty seventh present and then nearly two hundred
- 1:11Speaker 3: and fifty year history of America today gives me confidence
- 1:16Speaker 3: that we can keep this country going.
- 1:17Speaker 5: Does it give you confidence as well?
- 1:19Speaker 3: I sure hope it does. I sure hope it does.
- 1:23Speaker 3: But here's the line I want to focus on on
- 1:25Speaker 3: the address today. By President Trump. That makes me feel
- 1:32Speaker 3: really ambitious, even for this podcast.
- 1:35Speaker 5: Take a listen to this.
- 1:38Speaker 6: Ambition is the lifeblood of a great nation, and right
- 1:43Speaker 6: now our nation is more ambitious than any other.
- 1:47Speaker 2: There is no nation like our nation. Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs,
- 1:55Speaker 2: and pioneers.
- 1:57Speaker 6: The spirit of the frontier is written into our heart.
- 2:00Speaker 6: The call of the next great adventure resounds from within
- 2:06Speaker 6: our souls. Our American ancestors turned a small group of
- 2:11Speaker 6: colonies on the edge of a vast continent into a
- 2:15Speaker 6: mighty republic of the most extraordinary citizens on Earth.
- 2:19Speaker 2: No one comes close. Americans pushed thousands of miles through
- 2:24Speaker 2: a rugged land of untamed wilderness. They crossed desert, scaled mountains,
- 2:30Speaker 2: braved untold dangers, won the wild West, ended slavery, rescued
- 2:36Speaker 2: millions from tyranny, lifted billions from poverty, harnessed electricity, split
- 2:42Speaker 2: the atom, launched mankind into the heavens, and put the
- 2:47Speaker 2: universe of human knowledge into the palm of the human hand.
- 2:52Speaker 2: If we work together, there is nothing we cannot do,
- 2:55Speaker 2: and no dream we cannot achieve.
- 2:58Speaker 3: So I ask you New York Times, what's so dark
- 3:00Speaker 3: about that? What's so dark about that statement alone? I
- 3:05Speaker 3: did not think his second inauge world dress was dark.
- 3:09Speaker 5: I thought it was hopeful.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I thought that was one of the most hopeful moments
- 3:13Speaker 3: in our country in quite a while.
- 3:18Speaker 5: And I pray that he's able to get his ambitions
- 3:27Speaker 5: for America done.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I pray that the forty seventh President of the United
- 3:32Speaker 3: States will be presiding over the two hundred and fiftieth
- 3:35Speaker 3: birthday of America almost a year from now, a year
- 3:39Speaker 3: and a few months from now, is able to truly
- 3:43Speaker 3: help Americans with their own ambitions and innovations as we
- 3:48Speaker 3: all push through what's going to be year two fifty nine,
- 3:52Speaker 3: what's going to be year two forty nine of this
- 3:55Speaker 3: great country known as America. I remember last year I
- 3:59Speaker 3: started a series of seventy and here we are, and
- 4:03Speaker 3: it was really the road to Inauguration Day twenty twenty five.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I want to play you that again a year later.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Tell me what you think. Did I get it right?
- 4:11Speaker 5: Was I on the money?
- 4:13Speaker 3: Email me at alex g Alex alex GNYC dot com.
- 4:18Speaker 3: It's January twentieth's which means this. It means a year
- 4:22Speaker 3: from today, someone will put their hand on the Bible
- 4:27Speaker 3: and take the oath of office for the President of
- 4:30Speaker 3: the United States. Yes, we are into campaign twenty twenty four.
- 4:34Speaker 3: We are into election season. Iowa was just last week. Obviously,
- 4:40Speaker 3: Trump romped the crowd and led it to a couple
- 4:44Speaker 3: of exits from the campaign from their own campaigns like
- 4:47Speaker 3: vivec and Asa Hutchinson. I mean, that's really breaking news. Anyway,
- 4:52Speaker 3: on the twenty of each month, I'd like to give
- 4:56Speaker 3: you a breakdown of where, what, when or why and
- 4:58Speaker 3: who is winning in this cycle and in the polling,
- 5:04Speaker 3: especially the polling as we get toward November. What is it,
- 5:09Speaker 3: November November fifth, twenty twenty four. But till then, we've
- 5:16Speaker 3: got a lot to go. We've got a few trial
- 5:18Speaker 3: case trials that Trump has to overcome. We have an
- 5:25Speaker 3: economy that needs to be turned around. We have a
- 5:28Speaker 3: lot of work to do. We got to see how
- 5:30Speaker 3: Congress acts during this twenty twenty four We've got to
- 5:33Speaker 3: see how the Fed acts during this election cycle. And
- 5:37Speaker 3: mainly we have to see if Joe Biden is still
- 5:40Speaker 3: the present by Midsummer twenty twenty four, and if if somebody,
- 5:46Speaker 3: you know, if he falls ill or the party somehow
- 5:50Speaker 3: does a switcheroo and has a Michelle Obama has Gavin
- 5:54Speaker 3: Newsom in position to run for president in twenty twenty four.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I if you you had a gun to my head
- 6:02Speaker 3: right now, I don't think Joe Biden will be anywhere
- 6:05Speaker 3: near the ballot on November fifth, twenty twenty four. But
- 6:09Speaker 3: I could be wrong. I could be wrong. Well, we'll
- 6:13Speaker 3: have to see. But until then, until all that shakes out,
- 6:17Speaker 3: we're going to just get you some polling. We're gonna
- 6:19Speaker 3: get some numbers each month leading up to January twenty
- 6:25Speaker 3: twenty twenty five, when, as I mentioned before, the just
- 6:32Speaker 3: a little bit before that, that's when the next president
- 6:35Speaker 3: or the current president will put his hand on the
- 6:38Speaker 3: Bible or her hand on the Bible and swear to
- 6:41Speaker 3: the oath of office at the United States Capitol. Yeah,
- 6:47Speaker 3: we're heading toward inauguration Day twenty twenty five. It'll be
- 6:50Speaker 3: here before we know it. But let me get you
- 6:52Speaker 3: a couple of polls right now and tell me what
- 6:55Speaker 3: you think. To lead off this campaign. In twenty twenty
- 6:58Speaker 3: four series on One Leg Up with Alex Garrett, Let's
- 7:03Speaker 3: quickly turn to two seventy to win dot Com which
- 7:06Speaker 3: is saying that as of right now, nationally, Trump has
- 7:10Speaker 3: a one percent lead over Biden one percent forty five
- 7:16Speaker 3: to forty four percent uh nationally. That was just taken
- 7:22Speaker 3: yesterday as a matter of fact. And what they do
- 7:26Speaker 3: is they take the average of the five polls including
- 7:31Speaker 3: you gov, Redfield and Wilton Morning Consult, CBS, you gov
- 7:38Speaker 3: and basically they're averaging that Trump, yes, has a bigger
- 7:42Speaker 3: lead than Biden. And number of these polls, number of
- 7:49Speaker 3: these poles, and of course, you know on this series,
- 7:55Speaker 3: maybe we have they even include McLaughlin. I like that
- 8:00Speaker 3: they even include McLaughlin. How about that? That says right now,
- 8:05Speaker 3: as of December twenty twenty three, Trump had a couple
- 8:09Speaker 3: of percentage point lead over Biden. So all signs are
- 8:17Speaker 3: that no matter the legal issues are the indictments of
- 8:19Speaker 3: the trouble, President Trump is ahead here, which is gonna
- 8:27Speaker 3: be a factor. We're gonna see how the DOJ, how
- 8:32Speaker 3: the president, the Biden minstrician handles it. And clearly we're
- 8:35Speaker 3: seeing that states want him off the ballot, including mainly
- 8:39Speaker 3: Colorado and Maine. Those are the two big ones so far.
- 8:44Speaker 3: New York delegates are trying to get them off the
- 8:45Speaker 3: primary ballot as well. But I'm gonna link to two
- 8:50Speaker 3: seventy two win dot com and you can find out
- 8:53Speaker 3: more about what they're doing in their run up to
- 8:56Speaker 3: January twentieth, twenty twenty five, and in the run up
- 8:59Speaker 3: to November fifth, twenty twenty fourth. Look, do I like
- 9:03Speaker 3: talking politics anymore? No? But the honest to god truth
- 9:06Speaker 3: is there is an election in play this year. We
- 9:09Speaker 3: all know it, twenty twenty four. But do you know
- 9:11Speaker 3: the polling? Do you know what's going on with that? No? Well,
- 9:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna bring it to you and each and every
- 9:16Speaker 3: month on the twentieth day of each month, because I
- 9:22Speaker 3: do think. I do think once again on our future is
- 9:26Speaker 3: at stake. I know it sounds cliche, but I believe
- 9:29Speaker 3: that whoever takes present next has to clean up this mess.
- 9:34Speaker 3: And the biggest mess they have to clean up, obviously,
- 9:36Speaker 3: is the border crisis. That's the first big test they
- 9:39Speaker 3: have to handle, and a lot of people I believe
- 9:44Speaker 3: think Trump can do it better. I mean, look, the
- 9:47Speaker 3: Biden administration tried to erase the border wall. Turns out
- 9:50Speaker 3: they had to go and build back some of that wall.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Didn't really help the migrant crisis much. But the point
- 9:56Speaker 3: is is, yes, the Biden administration had to keep sub
- 9:59Speaker 3: of that was poes in place that the Trump administration
- 10:03Speaker 3: left in and then another factor. Did you see what's
- 10:08Speaker 3: going on? And I hate to say it to kick
- 10:11Speaker 3: off this campaign trail, but this could be campaign series
- 10:14Speaker 3: and this election series on one lego. But this is unbelievable.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Did you see in China this week? Did you see
- 10:22Speaker 3: in China this week that they are testing another COVID
- 10:27Speaker 3: nineteen strain. Chinese researcher submitted a COVID virus sequence two
- 10:37Speaker 3: weeks before China made the data public. It's happening again.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Are we aware that the Chinese government is again holding
- 10:47Speaker 3: back on COVID virus information? Is it possible that another
- 10:53Speaker 3: Wuhanian leak can happen to disrupt this election cycle again?
- 11:00Speaker 3: I know it's only January twentieth, but guess what, I
- 11:02Speaker 3: have a bit of trauma from March twenty twenty and
- 11:06Speaker 3: the whole shutdown. Don't you wouldn't you want to know
- 11:10Speaker 3: if China was working on something like this again and
- 11:15Speaker 3: why are they? And why are they? The United States
- 11:21Speaker 3: National Institute of Health set in response to a House
- 11:24Speaker 3: and Energy Committee investigation that Chinese virologists lonely ran some
- 11:30Speaker 3: inde sequence on December. This is back in twenty nineteen.
- 11:35Speaker 3: This was the first train. How they held back that
- 11:39Speaker 3: information back then, but COVID twenty But they were doing
- 11:45Speaker 3: testing recently cloning This is the one I want to
- 11:55Speaker 3: tell you. Cloning COVID like virus to test on mice,
- 11:59Speaker 3: add acknowledge a spillover rate risk to humans. In a
- 12:08Speaker 3: report by research under a collaborative project between China and Mongolia,
- 12:12Speaker 3: scientists explained the virus is a strain of coronavirus, and
- 12:17Speaker 3: they clone the virus and they tested on mice. This
- 12:25Speaker 3: underscores a spillover risk of gxp twov into humans and
- 12:29Speaker 3: provide a unique model for undertecting the pathologic pathogenic mechanisms.
- 12:35Speaker 3: But the point is China is again testing again, like
- 12:39Speaker 3: four years ago, testing this, and I think we shall
- 12:44Speaker 3: be a little nervous. We should be a little worried
- 12:47Speaker 3: that they're coming up with these measles and these different
- 12:51Speaker 3: health outbreaks that could affect some governmental defcisions on what
- 12:56Speaker 3: to shut down, what to keep open. I mean, the
- 12:58Speaker 3: shutdown rhetoric is in play here. Again, sadly in this
- 13:02Speaker 3: election year, doesn't it feel like that? Doesn't it feel
- 13:05Speaker 3: like that to you? That's why a year from now
- 13:12Speaker 3: is so pivotal that I do believe the Democrats are
- 13:16Speaker 3: going to pull out all stops and the Republican is
- 13:18Speaker 3: just going to go along with it, saying, oh, well,
- 13:19Speaker 3: you know, we can't really rock the boat. And I
- 13:23Speaker 3: admire the work of Speaker Johnson here, but he's got
- 13:26Speaker 3: to remember it's an election year too. You've got to
- 13:30Speaker 3: make them tie border security funding to the A to
- 13:35Speaker 3: Ukraine and Israel. You've got to. You've got to be tough.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Even if you don't feel like you can't push them,
- 13:43Speaker 3: you got to. It'll look better for the party as
- 13:47Speaker 3: we are into twenty twenty four. But at the end
- 13:51Speaker 3: of the day, I think I do think the Georgia
- 13:56Speaker 3: case is going to make a big difference in this election.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I also happen to think that Trump will too. Trump
- 14:05Speaker 3: will make himself either look better or worse in this year.
- 14:11Speaker 3: And if you just talk to facts and talked about
- 14:14Speaker 3: how the Biden demonstration is failing at every corner, I mean, yes,
- 14:19Speaker 3: we're still here today, but the fact is our city
- 14:22Speaker 3: cannot handle the thousands of migrants that have come in
- 14:26Speaker 3: the city cannot handle a Biden versus Adams war right now.
- 14:30Speaker 3: That's not what the city needs. The city needs a
- 14:32Speaker 3: federal support. And you know what, if I'm Trump, I say,
- 14:35Speaker 3: or if I'm an Eddy candidate, I say, Hey, guess
- 14:38Speaker 3: what New York I see where you're going through. You're
- 14:41Speaker 3: the epicenter right now in this migrant crisis, and guess what.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Guess what We're going to be by your side. We
- 14:47Speaker 3: will not turn away on turn our back on Eric Adams.
- 14:51Speaker 3: We will not investigate your mayor when we are scrutinized.
- 14:55Speaker 3: If we are scrutinized by him, we will continue to
- 14:57Speaker 3: work with him. That's the message that these candidates need
- 15:01Speaker 3: to send to New York City that we are going
- 15:04Speaker 3: to work with Mayor Adams. The message we get from
- 15:06Speaker 3: the White House right now is, oh, you're gonna criticize us.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Let's go after him with the FBI. Let's see some
- 15:13Speaker 3: phones he here, Let's get some investigations going that we're
- 15:16Speaker 3: never done before. And whether you like Adams or not,
- 15:20Speaker 3: you have to believe that there's a bit of a
- 15:24Speaker 3: hunt's going on because he is calling out the White
- 15:26Speaker 3: House directly. Biden didn't even meet with Adams in September
- 15:33Speaker 3: during the UN General Assembly week that didn't happen, and
- 15:40Speaker 3: nor has any real help from the federal government happened
- 15:44Speaker 3: as well. So we could deal with what his relationship
- 15:46Speaker 3: is with Kathley Hokeel and the state's help or non help.
- 15:50Speaker 3: But if we're talking about twenty twenty four, we've got
- 15:53Speaker 3: to say what candidate can message properly to the city
- 15:57Speaker 3: of New York. Hey, I will work with you to
- 15:59Speaker 3: get at this migrant crisis under control and not turn
- 16:03Speaker 3: our back on New York City. We will not turn
- 16:05Speaker 3: New York City. Tell New York City to drop the dead.
- 16:09Speaker 3: That's the message that needs to be conveyed in the
- 16:12Speaker 3: local sense by this presidential election, and we'll see if
- 16:16Speaker 3: it gets done. We'll see if it gets done. But
- 16:21Speaker 3: again two seventy to win dot com, I want to
- 16:23Speaker 3: drop that. You could check the polls out and then
- 16:26Speaker 3: every month we'll come back with a little review. Maybe
- 16:28Speaker 3: get some polling experts on this show, the one leg
- 16:32Speaker 3: up with Alex Garrett podcast network, uh, and do more
- 16:37Speaker 3: as we had. As I say, this generation needs to
- 16:40Speaker 3: know before they go to the polls, what the deal is,
- 16:44Speaker 3: where the voting is, what's the the policy shaping up
- 16:49Speaker 3: to be from these candidates? And if if I'm buying running,
- 16:55Speaker 3: I can't promise to be the same old, same old.
- 16:58Speaker 3: It's got to be fix There's got to be a
- 17:01Speaker 3: lot of fixing that has to happen that I don't
- 17:04Speaker 3: think the biersation will do because they're worried about the
- 17:07Speaker 3: far left contingent voting against them. They're so worried about
- 17:14Speaker 3: votes that, yes, did you know that there was a
- 17:16Speaker 3: provision in this city to allow migrants to vote that
- 17:21Speaker 3: was rejected. That's how extreme the left is getting. And
- 17:27Speaker 3: in twenty twenty five, I personally cannot want a Democrat
- 17:33Speaker 3: to put his hand or her hand on that Bible
- 17:37Speaker 3: unless they are common sense, which Biden clearly has not
- 17:41Speaker 3: been during this whole crisis, during this whole inflation situation
- 17:47Speaker 3: we're going through, during this whole thing where gas prices
- 17:53Speaker 3: have gone up, I mean a lot of things have
- 17:55Speaker 3: gone up. Grocery prices alone have gone up in this administration.
- 18:02Speaker 3: So I believe to keep America on the right track
- 18:06Speaker 3: and put it back on the right track, I should
- 18:08Speaker 3: say twenty twenty four is crucial. That's why on this
- 18:12Speaker 3: day in twenty twenty five, hopefully the right person puts
- 18:20Speaker 3: their hand on that Bible at high noon. At high noon,
- 18:29Speaker 3: the President United States is now President Donald Trump once again,
- 18:33Speaker 3: and the sixtieth inauguration of the President of United States
- 18:37Speaker 3: gives me hope that we can have one leg.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Up on the world as we're supposed to.
- 18:45Speaker 3: God bless America and the next four years under President Trump.
