- 0:11Speaker 1: Okay, what a boxing fans. I'm not sure if you
- 0:14Speaker 1: heard that. Actually, hold on, let me just run it
- 0:17Speaker 1: back real quick again, just in case he's taking a
- 0:29Speaker 1: long time. It's been a long time. I shouldn't have
- 0:35Speaker 1: left you. No, And for those who don't know who
- 0:39Speaker 1: that is, you better dig in those crates, dude. I
- 0:42Speaker 1: know they don't call it the crates anymore, but you
- 0:45Speaker 1: might as well start digging. Eric b Rockham, it's been
- 0:48Speaker 1: a long time. I shouldn't have left you. Okay, I
- 0:53Speaker 1: shouldn't have, but I did. No, I'm back. I am
- 0:59Speaker 1: back first sure of twenty twenty five, and we're gonna
- 1:02Speaker 1: talk about twenty twenty four. The last show I did
- 1:08Speaker 1: did very well. I'd like to thank you for that.
- 1:11Speaker 1: One of the biggest shows of the year. I think
- 1:14Speaker 1: it was like top five, fourth or fifth. I kind
- 1:17Speaker 1: of it had legs, so I let it run a
- 1:20Speaker 1: little bit and then I got into an area where
- 1:23Speaker 1: you know, there was no recap from that Japanese weekend
- 1:28Speaker 1: because Puma had to pull out and pause, and you know,
- 1:34Speaker 1: I just it just it just kind of days went by.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Life got in the way, and I thought, you know what,
- 1:41Speaker 1: this is such a weird start to the year. Don't
- 1:44Speaker 1: get me wrong. The first couple of months tend to
- 1:46Speaker 1: be just pretty good. We've been spoiled in recent years
- 1:53Speaker 1: with January, February, March popping off, and we kind of
- 1:58Speaker 1: got spoiled last January, I remember correctly. I think the
- 2:01Speaker 1: last two Januaries. Usually they target the last month in
- 2:06Speaker 1: January or last month. I said that. I said that
- 2:11Speaker 1: the last weekend in January, which you can tell. And
- 2:16Speaker 1: now it's like, what would be like February first, because
- 2:21Speaker 1: that's the break between the conference finals in the NFL
- 2:24Speaker 1: and the Super Bowl. So usually you get one, a
- 2:28Speaker 1: good one, you know, you'd have Friday night fights and
- 2:30Speaker 1: stuff like that. But usually not long ago, literally like ten, twelve,
- 2:35Speaker 1: thirteen years ago, it would start out real slow and
- 2:40Speaker 1: then it would pick back up. And then the second,
- 2:43Speaker 1: you know, second quarter, third quarter, it would start going
- 2:46Speaker 1: really heavy. But the first couple of weeks you know,
- 2:52Speaker 1: are light. It does pick up, like I said, and
- 2:55Speaker 1: then February is great. Actually, if you look at you know,
- 3:00Speaker 1: somewhat recent Februaries or like I said, the last twenty
- 3:03Speaker 1: twenty five years of februaryes, we got a great fights
- 3:08Speaker 1: and some of it has to do with the main events,
- 3:11Speaker 1: a lot of it has to do with the undercards
- 3:13Speaker 1: as well. So yeah, we're we're We'll definitely talk about
- 3:17Speaker 1: the first quarter kind of preview, you know, what's going on,
- 3:23Speaker 1: what's on paper, and then of course you know some
- 3:26Speaker 1: current fight news and all that stuff. But today's episode
- 3:30Speaker 1: is the great, the good, the Bad, and the ugly
- 3:34Speaker 1: twenty twenty four Boxing Year in Review, and you know
- 3:39Speaker 1: it's it's it's been a long time. I shouldn't have
- 3:42Speaker 1: left you, right, So I'm not gonna go too in
- 3:45Speaker 1: depth because we are literally, you know, thirteen days. I
- 3:49Speaker 1: can't believe it into January. So yeah, there was like,
- 3:54Speaker 1: I don't know, it was just I'm just I kind
- 3:56Speaker 1: of put this episode off for a little bit. I
- 4:00Speaker 1: figured I'd jump on and just get back in the
- 4:03Speaker 1: swing of it. I did get some messages saying, tell
- 4:07Speaker 1: me the show's not over. No, the show is not over. Okay.
- 4:11Speaker 1: It's the longest running strictly boxing podcast in the sport
- 4:18Speaker 1: of boxing. There is one mister Fernandez I believe his
- 4:22Speaker 1: last name is, does a combat sports show that's been
- 4:26Speaker 1: going much longer than mine, But the longest raining boxing
- 4:34Speaker 1: podcast in the sport ain't going anywhere, So don't you
- 4:40Speaker 1: worry about it into the haters. You know, two different
- 4:47Speaker 1: outlets platforms, No, I don't know, two different podcast podcasts
- 4:51Speaker 1: tried to steal the name. They basically copied each other's name.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I have gotten some in the last maybe year. Every
- 5:00Speaker 1: couple of months someone sends me, uh, you know a
- 5:03Speaker 1: rope adope or whatever the other shows and uh, you
- 5:07Speaker 1: know the reason why I have the radio part in
- 5:09Speaker 1: there because it was live radio. Usually podcast you're recording,
- 5:15Speaker 1: you put them out right, but this is before any
- 5:17Speaker 1: kind of Twitter space or anything like that. It was live,
- 5:21Speaker 1: live radio and blog talk was one of the best,
- 5:23Speaker 1: if not the best, site to do it on. So
- 5:26Speaker 1: that's why it's rope a Dope radio podcasts. So I
- 5:31Speaker 1: understand the confusion. I understand that, you know, people think
- 5:36Speaker 1: people stole names or whatever. But to be honest with you,
- 5:42Speaker 1: to be fair, Muhammad Ali came up with the name.
- 5:46Speaker 1: You know, let's let's be honest. So we're all just
- 5:50Speaker 1: living off him, right, So yeah, that's that the show
- 5:55Speaker 1: ain't going anywhere. You gotta take me out, gotta take
- 6:00Speaker 1: me out, you know. Okay, I'm gonna go until I
- 6:03Speaker 1: can't break anymore. That that's what we're gonna do. And
- 6:06Speaker 1: that sounds kind of depressing, but I swear it's not.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I swear it's not. So Yeah, of course, upset of
- 6:14Speaker 1: the year, Prospect of the year, which I always get
- 6:17Speaker 1: shipped for because I have a different view of prospects.
- 6:21Speaker 1: We'll go over that. I'm sure I'll get the messages
- 6:24Speaker 1: around of the year, KO event, fight fighter, you know
- 6:31Speaker 1: that type of thing. And like I said, we do
- 6:34Speaker 1: have a little fight news as well that I'll talk about.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Opataia did his thing. It was a good fight though,
- 6:44Speaker 1: you know, while it lasted, it was a pretty fun fight.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And then, you know, like I said, we'll talk about
- 6:49Speaker 1: the first the first chunk of the year. We'll talk
- 6:53Speaker 1: a little bit about too, Fema Lopez, this freaking guy man.
- 6:58Speaker 1: We'll talk about another or pull out Sam Goodman, Garcia
- 7:04Speaker 1: and Haney. Have they arrived at a at a deal
- 7:11Speaker 1: or is that just bullshit? I don't know, I really
- 7:15Speaker 1: don't know anyway. If this is your first time listening
- 7:18Speaker 1: to the Ropendope radio podcast, Woke up its streams live
- 7:22Speaker 1: right here on blog talk radio Dot. Oh you know
- 7:24Speaker 1: what hold on in the coming weeks, it will have
- 7:28Speaker 1: a different home. But to be honest with you, you know,
- 7:34Speaker 1: people do download it from blog talk and I really
- 7:37Speaker 1: appreciate it, but mostly it's on other especially Apple podcasts,
- 7:40Speaker 1: but mostly it's on utter utter utter places, Google podcast
- 7:46Speaker 1: Player if the download the podcast app, Apple podcast, that
- 7:51Speaker 1: type of thing. But it will be soon, very soon
- 7:56Speaker 1: on Spotify. Okay, so things had run out. Blog Talk
- 8:04Speaker 1: is going to cease to exist, and so I am
- 8:10Speaker 1: going to have a new home. Nothing crazy though, you'll
- 8:14Speaker 1: still be able to find it. In fact, if you
- 8:16Speaker 1: like Spotify, you'll be able to you know, listen to
- 8:18Speaker 1: it on there. So it's not a huge deal. But
- 8:22Speaker 1: just the heads up for the people that do. Go
- 8:24Speaker 1: to blog talk and rope it ope and download the
- 8:26Speaker 1: show there. While you're at it, head out over to
- 8:29Speaker 1: the gruellingtreuth dot com, east Side Boxing and pill Boxing.
- 8:33Speaker 1: One more thing from direct direct TV stream. Huddle up
- 8:38Speaker 1: and watch a weekend and just the next couple of
- 8:42Speaker 1: weeks right college football NFL playoffs on direct TV stream.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You can save up to seventy four ninety nine stream
- 8:52Speaker 1: football playoffs like a pro. They're still on it and
- 8:55Speaker 1: when it'll just go. So it says limited time. I'm
- 8:58Speaker 1: telling you it'll just lead. This is a good deal.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You better get on at eighty six ninety eight for
- 9:04Speaker 1: the first two months. When you sign up for the
- 9:05Speaker 1: Entertainment Package, you add the direct TV Sports pack. They
- 9:08Speaker 1: do have that free trial if you want to go
- 9:10Speaker 1: to the Choice Package, which includes fan Duel because a
- 9:15Speaker 1: lot of people had issues with Ballely Sports. That's ninety
- 9:19Speaker 1: four ninety nine a month for the first three months,
- 9:23Speaker 1: and you could go all the way to the Ultimate
- 9:25Speaker 1: which it features over one hundred and sixty channels, one
- 9:28Speaker 1: on nine ninety nine per month. Okay, alright, let's see
- 9:38Speaker 1: Callium Smith Simpson. I just said Callium Simpson, not Callium Smith.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Did his thing against Woodhall. I think it's what Steve
- 9:47Speaker 1: Woodall or something like that. If I remember correctly, he
- 9:51Speaker 1: handled this business really really easy. Second round, big big,
- 9:58Speaker 1: I believe it was a right hand. Let me check
- 10:01Speaker 1: my notes. Yeah, so there there ain't much there. Du bois.
- 10:08Speaker 1: The little sister seemed to be handling business. She did.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I think it was a body shot body shot that
- 10:17Speaker 1: uh dropped Jessica Camara, but then there was a cut
- 10:24Speaker 1: and so it was one of those things where you
- 10:27Speaker 1: know it was a cut, they stopped it. So it's
- 10:31Speaker 1: a weird, you know, majority draw thing. So the other fight,
- 10:39Speaker 1: I think that is very worth watching while it lasted anyway,
- 10:45Speaker 1: and it's quick. Was that Hickey Howls Howls pulled the
- 10:53Speaker 1: upset you know, just body shots galore and had the
- 11:00Speaker 1: corner say no moss and yeah. So that that's that's
- 11:06Speaker 1: you know, that was that happened. Okay, that happened over
- 11:10Speaker 1: the weekend. Like I said, Opataia was in a fun
- 11:16Speaker 1: fight with the Naika. It was like a right hook
- 11:23Speaker 1: or right cross that knocked him down. It was a
- 11:26Speaker 1: fun fight. Though. What was that the sixth round? I believe,
- 11:29Speaker 1: I know that was almost a week ago now I
- 11:31Speaker 1: suppose because it was last Wednesday. But uh, that was
- 11:35Speaker 1: a fun fight. That was a fun little fight. Dude
- 11:38Speaker 1: had a prospect career. We'd heard a bunch of sparring
- 11:42Speaker 1: stories and you know, I wouldn't you know, completely ruled
- 11:49Speaker 1: out his career like oh he's hot garbage or whatever.
- 11:51Speaker 1: He just got beat, you know, But pretty early in
- 11:56Speaker 1: that fight it turned into exactly that. It turned in
- 12:00Speaker 1: to a pretty good little bite. So that is worth
- 12:02Speaker 1: watching for those who've you know, kind of whatever, kind
- 12:08Speaker 1: of haven't been in the flow. Like I said, it
- 12:11Speaker 1: is kind of a weird, a weird start to the year.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So I understand folks that are a little like, eh,
- 12:21Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But it will tighten up.
- 12:26Speaker 1: It will definitely tighten up. And so twenty twenty four
- 12:36Speaker 1: right overall like a pretty good year. Right. It wasn't
- 12:45Speaker 1: you know, hot garbage or anything like did I already
- 12:49Speaker 1: use that word twice? So it was kind of like
- 12:55Speaker 1: a hurry up and wait, like it had its great moments,
- 12:59Speaker 1: and it was like then it had its great moments,
- 13:01Speaker 1: then it was like, you know what I mean. So
- 13:03Speaker 1: it was kind of an up and down year. Obviously,
- 13:08Speaker 1: as far as state side, the PBC not doing monthly
- 13:13Speaker 1: shows definitely hurt, not just stateside, you know, the boxing
- 13:18Speaker 1: world in general. That did hurt, and that could have
- 13:23Speaker 1: filled in a lot of the gap them in the
- 13:28Speaker 1: former showtime, you know, in twenty twenty three, like they
- 13:35Speaker 1: had it, they were the the network of the year,
- 13:40Speaker 1: right and the promoter of the year. Obviously, the sadis
- 13:44Speaker 1: have done Turkey has done a lot of damage this year,
- 13:48Speaker 1: and I guess to close last year technically, so it's
- 13:50Speaker 1: been a little bit over a year. It's got a
- 13:53Speaker 1: great card coming up in February. So yeah, it was
- 13:59Speaker 1: you know, I don't know, it had its its moments
- 14:03Speaker 1: for sure. I mean where it had a string and
- 14:05Speaker 1: just great fights and upsets and all that stuff. And
- 14:10Speaker 1: there were plenty of upsets, but it just I think
- 14:14Speaker 1: it had a lot to do with the last couple
- 14:17Speaker 1: of years and especially last year. Last year was just
- 14:20Speaker 1: a phenomenal year and so it was hard to beat that,
- 14:27Speaker 1: and so if you don't do that, then it's a
- 14:29Speaker 1: failure here. And I don't think it was like a
- 14:31Speaker 1: major step back. Boxing does have its you know, it
- 14:36Speaker 1: does kind of take two steps back, step forward, like
- 14:39Speaker 1: a giant step forward, step back, you know that type
- 14:42Speaker 1: of thing. So yeah, it was kind of like you're
- 14:44Speaker 1: on a movie set in a hurry up and wait.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Like I said, there's some great fights and all that,
- 14:51Speaker 1: but yeah, as an overall year, it was a disappointment.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Another year full of fighters but especially promoters talking. And
- 15:10Speaker 1: I think the media has something to do to do
- 15:13Speaker 1: with this too, because at some point we have to
- 15:18Speaker 1: not have negotiations hit social media and all that. Now
- 15:24Speaker 1: Obviously you can't control if a fighter manager or whatever
- 15:28Speaker 1: right or promoter are talking shit on on Twitter or whatever, right,
- 15:34Speaker 1: But overall, like I have noticed, even though, like I guess,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you could say what people call the legacy media, now
- 15:42Speaker 1: I wouldn't. Some of them have legacy, some of them whatever,
- 15:46Speaker 1: some of them are very biased, you know, So let's
- 15:49Speaker 1: not I want to say, let's not act like the meat.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It's so much better now because you know, we have
- 15:59Speaker 1: more outlets and platforms to do the media, because it's
- 16:03Speaker 1: actually gotten even worse. My point is, although you can
- 16:07Speaker 1: point fingers at the quote unquote YouTube media, right, not
- 16:12Speaker 1: all of them should. I remember when Dan Rafael, me
- 16:16Speaker 1: and many other people when the boxing YouTube community he
- 16:20Speaker 1: was popping off. We were sending our videos to him
- 16:23Speaker 1: and say, hey, what do you think about this? It's
- 16:25Speaker 1: some dude talking on there. You know. He really downplayed
- 16:28Speaker 1: YouTube and a lot of media members did. And now
- 16:31Speaker 1: they're all doing YouTube shows, you know. So that's kind
- 16:34Speaker 1: of funny to watch. But you know, there are a
- 16:39Speaker 1: lot of stupid questions asked, and not just stupid, but
- 16:45Speaker 1: just not a lot of context, a lot of clickbait,
- 16:51Speaker 1: you know, in clickbait, even before YouTubers were even allowed
- 16:56Speaker 1: to get a pass, a press pass, this already existed, right,
- 17:03Speaker 1: clickbait and all that. It's just now there's social media
- 17:06Speaker 1: that it's just gone that route, and Twitter has gone
- 17:09Speaker 1: that route now so much that I think sometimes the
- 17:14Speaker 1: YouTube boxing media can actually get a worse rap then
- 17:20Speaker 1: it really should. There's plenty of criticism, you know, but
- 17:25Speaker 1: if the media had been doing their jobs properly, maybe
- 17:29Speaker 1: you wouldn't have a variety of boxing fans get into
- 17:34Speaker 1: the BDA and be like, what the fuck are they
- 17:36Speaker 1: talking about? This is bullshit? You So you can see
- 17:38Speaker 1: the bias over the top, the ignorance, the racism, whatever
- 17:44Speaker 1: however you want to look at it. It was all there.
- 17:47Speaker 1: And not to say that's gone, you know with the
- 17:50Speaker 1: YouTubers either, Right, there's been plenty of you know, race
- 17:56Speaker 1: stuff going on between white and black channels, not as
- 18:00Speaker 1: much now but years ago. So my point is there's
- 18:05Speaker 1: just so many like empty questions that are asked and
- 18:12Speaker 1: not follow it up on. And sometimes you'll have a
- 18:15Speaker 1: YouTuber like fight of that. They'll they'll follow up when
- 18:20Speaker 1: they're talking to Espinoza or someone, but then they won't
- 18:24Speaker 1: follow up when it's Eddie Hearn or Oscar you know
- 18:26Speaker 1: what I mean. They kind of play dumb and so.
- 18:32Speaker 1: And it's not like when I say stuff about the media,
- 18:35Speaker 1: doesn't mean oh, I can do their job better than
- 18:38Speaker 1: every one of them. And none of them have any
- 18:40Speaker 1: talent or anything like that. It's not a talent thing necessarily,
- 18:43Speaker 1: it's not. You know, I'm not a good writer. I
- 18:47Speaker 1: write previewing prediction articles. I was asked to do it
- 18:52Speaker 1: a while ago, so I've just done it. It does
- 18:54Speaker 1: help the podcast, could you get to put your link
- 18:56Speaker 1: in there? But I'll never like act like I'm some
- 19:02Speaker 1: in depth I've actually written some in depth articles that
- 19:05Speaker 1: are pretty good, but overall I'm not a great writer
- 19:09Speaker 1: or even a very good writer. I'll just be honest
- 19:11Speaker 1: with you, you know what I mean. So it's not like
- 19:14Speaker 1: the talent isn't there with plenty of them, it's just
- 19:17Speaker 1: what they choose to do with that talent. And now
- 19:22Speaker 1: with Sadi here this shit, I mean some of this
- 19:26Speaker 1: stuff they've said. I and I bought the Saudi stuff,
- 19:31Speaker 1: you know out I have had the Zone since I
- 19:35Speaker 1: could possibly have it in the US, So I have ESPN,
- 19:39Speaker 1: plus I have Amazon. You know, like it is what
- 19:45Speaker 1: it is, Like, I'm not I'm just saying like the
- 19:48Speaker 1: things that they're saying on those Saudi cards, like you know,
- 19:53Speaker 1: Turkey's made more fights in one year than the last
- 19:57Speaker 1: ten years and just crazy over the top sh that's
- 20:01Speaker 1: just like, dude, what's in some of these people? You
- 20:06Speaker 1: know what they had to do to get you know,
- 20:10Speaker 1: they had to kiss the ring. Many people that are
- 20:13Speaker 1: in media had to kiss the ring and had to
- 20:17Speaker 1: be a cheerleader for something. And that's just the bottom
- 20:21Speaker 1: line or to hold your position whatever. Not everyone. I've
- 20:25Speaker 1: had multiple media members on here, but as far as
- 20:30Speaker 1: the independent media and all that, like, it is gonna
- 20:33Speaker 1: be tough. It was hard to say Ring was an
- 20:36Speaker 1: independent media. Now it's even tougher, you know, but there
- 20:41Speaker 1: are some quality writers on there too. Boxing scene has
- 20:48Speaker 1: gone downhill. I mean, there's just no way around it.
- 20:53Speaker 1: There's no way around it. It's become way more even
- 20:56Speaker 1: more clickbait than it had been in some punchlines and stuff.
- 20:59Speaker 1: But now they just they ask like silly questions like well, whatever,
- 21:04Speaker 1: I don't I don't want to go too long on it,
- 21:06Speaker 1: but my point is I really wish we could get
- 21:10Speaker 1: good follow up questions and questions in general. And I
- 21:15Speaker 1: think it's a big issue in boxing today and it
- 21:19Speaker 1: has been, and every press conference or every interview I see,
- 21:23Speaker 1: I'm just like, dude, follow up, you know. It's just
- 21:30Speaker 1: just rarely, rarely happens, and and sometimes it just comes
- 21:35Speaker 1: down to act access. Some people don't get a lot
- 21:38Speaker 1: of access, so when they get it, they don't want
- 21:40Speaker 1: to burn a bridge, which I which I could understand
- 21:44Speaker 1: as long as you're not running out there running with
- 21:46Speaker 1: this stupid narrative or something like that. That's different, you know.
- 21:51Speaker 1: But yeah, to keep asking a fighter like what do
- 21:58Speaker 1: you think of this fight? What do you think of that?
- 21:59Speaker 1: But who's and win that by? Who's gonna win that
- 22:01Speaker 1: f and that's all you fucking do for the It's
- 22:03Speaker 1: just it gets old, you know, and then people will
- 22:07Speaker 1: start ship like a couple was it like a month
- 22:11Speaker 1: ago or whatever when they try to get tanked to
- 22:13Speaker 1: say ship about anyway, Well you know what he said
- 22:17Speaker 1: about you? You know that that that he said she said? Dude,
- 22:20Speaker 1: It just gets old. So that's something that I have
- 22:25Speaker 1: to like rant about everyone every once in a while.
- 22:28Speaker 1: But overall though it still wasn't some kind of garbage here,
- 22:33Speaker 1: you know, Like I said, the PBC not being as
- 22:36Speaker 1: active as they normally were did put a dent in it.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I think you did. See. You know, they didn't do
- 22:44Speaker 1: many events. Most of them are really good, but they
- 22:47Speaker 1: didn't do nearly enough. So that's that's the key there.
- 22:53Speaker 1: And we'll see, you know, if they hit their their
- 22:56Speaker 1: stride this year. So yeah, eight, the good, the bad,
- 23:00Speaker 1: the ugly, you know, I just said it. Network, the Zone, Promoter,
- 23:10Speaker 1: I would have to say Turkey slash Queensberry because if
- 23:16Speaker 1: you remember Queensberry, like Eddie had to be on Queensberry's
- 23:21Speaker 1: cards in you know, Sadi's cards first. Now he can
- 23:25Speaker 1: run his own, So I would have to say the
- 23:29Speaker 1: Zone of course is the network of the year. So
- 23:33Speaker 1: that's two out of the last three years if you're
- 23:35Speaker 1: keeping track. And then and then either Queensberry slash you know, Turkey,
- 23:41Speaker 1: Saudi Arabia, that's who i'd say for the best, the best,
- 23:45Speaker 1: you know, network of the year, platform, whatever the fuck
- 23:48Speaker 1: you want to call it. And then promoter And I
- 23:52Speaker 1: know people say, oh mam, Matchroom, I don't know, dude,
- 23:55Speaker 1: Like I'm not saying Matchroom didn't have you know anything
- 24:01Speaker 1: to do with those Saudi cards because of course they did.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Of course they did. But it was Queensberry first, and
- 24:10Speaker 1: Queensberry allowed other stuff to happen as well with Saudi.
- 24:14Speaker 1: So but first and foremost it's Saudi Arabia, Turkey running
- 24:19Speaker 1: running the ship there. So prospect of the year I
- 24:26Speaker 1: did see. I think it was brunch Boxing shouts out
- 24:29Speaker 1: to brunch Box and keep doing their thing. You know,
- 24:33Speaker 1: you want to talk about an independent media that's looking
- 24:36Speaker 1: to get the story right that if they have opinions,
- 24:41Speaker 1: it's it's well thought out and it can change. See
- 24:45Speaker 1: that's another thing too, like if you have more if
- 24:48Speaker 1: more information comes in at times evidence, well that can
- 24:52Speaker 1: make you change your mind, you know. And so they
- 24:55Speaker 1: have really good debates amongst them, amongst the host and
- 24:59Speaker 1: the people they bring on. And it can be very
- 25:03Speaker 1: serious topics, it can be you know, well rounded, it
- 25:06Speaker 1: can be funny. They give each other shit. So brunch
- 25:09Speaker 1: Boxing once again really the had the best year, I
- 25:14Speaker 1: would say, out of any boxing podcast. And they can
- 25:19Speaker 1: be cut every Saturday. I can't always get up that
- 25:23Speaker 1: early because I usually am up really late on Fridays.
- 25:28Speaker 1: A combination of work in pleasure, and it's hard for
- 25:33Speaker 1: me to get to listen to their whole show, so
- 25:35Speaker 1: I usually just listen back to it. But you can
- 25:38Speaker 1: get it anywhere. It's not just on the Twitter space,
- 25:42Speaker 1: but if you want to join in support it, if
- 25:45Speaker 1: you want, like independent media, legit media, that's one of
- 25:51Speaker 1: the few. There's not that many out there. There there
- 25:53Speaker 1: are the boxing source, there are plenty, there are, there
- 25:56Speaker 1: are some. I'm not saying they're not, but it seems
- 26:00Speaker 1: ms to be dwindling. I do want to say that.
- 26:03Speaker 1: So the we get the network of the prospect. Okay, so,
- 26:07Speaker 1: and I remember them with tension. I think their their
- 26:11Speaker 1: prospect was tension nasu comma comma. I think it is.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I've seen a lot of a lot of Moses. I've
- 26:32Speaker 1: seen a Bill Mason. I've seen Iglesias. Was it Olass Glacias.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I've seen the Hernandez Kid, the Yo Nelly. I see
- 26:49Speaker 1: Joel Broadway, Joel the voice of the Dominican boxers. John
- 26:53Speaker 1: Santana shouts out to him. And there's others. Danny are Perow,
- 27:00Speaker 1: I've seen Moten. You know, I wouldn't give him Prospects
- 27:04Speaker 1: of the Year because he missed Wait, by that much,
- 27:07Speaker 1: but mine is and you know, I get it. Here's
- 27:11Speaker 1: here's my thing. Okay, if you're just knocking dudes out right,
- 27:17Speaker 1: you're just knocking boxers out right. I keep saying dudes
- 27:20Speaker 1: here and there. You know, I'm not trying to be
- 27:23Speaker 1: about the women here, but I just need it to like,
- 27:30Speaker 1: you can be a prospect and turn into a contender.
- 27:34Speaker 1: And that's my prospect of the year. Now, if you
- 27:36Speaker 1: begin the year as a prospect, you end as a champion.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Well that's just what happened, you know. And so I
- 27:45Speaker 1: I think there's a strong case for Brian Norman Junior.
- 27:49Speaker 1: And I know I'm gonna get shot on this. I
- 27:51Speaker 1: get shipped on this every year. But I just think
- 27:54Speaker 1: when you're a prospect of the year, I don't see
- 27:58Speaker 1: why it's that strange to give someone that at the
- 28:02Speaker 1: beginning of the year was at least close to a prospect.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I can understand why people had him in the contender
- 28:10Speaker 1: rage already, and that's fair, that's fair. I just think
- 28:14Speaker 1: it's better to go with these.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Type of picks then, uh, you know, than not facing
- 28:25Speaker 2: anyone and knocking them out like and I'm not and
- 28:29Speaker 2: you know, plenty of everyone gets moved as a prospect
- 28:32Speaker 2: at different levels, in different paces, and so I'm not
- 28:35Speaker 2: ripped someone six and oh and five knockouts, six and
- 28:38Speaker 2: oh six knockouts.
- 28:39Speaker 1: That's cool if you you know, we're able to knock
- 28:43Speaker 1: someone out highlight, real fashion, that's cool, you know, And
- 28:46Speaker 1: I get it. That's usually the prospect of the year,
- 28:49Speaker 1: but I don't do it that way. I don't do
- 28:52Speaker 1: it that way. And in my opinion, if you look
- 28:54Speaker 1: at who he had beaten at the beginning of two
- 29:00Speaker 1: or I should say at the end of his last fight,
- 29:03Speaker 1: was Quentin Randall campbos like he was a pro at
- 29:09Speaker 1: the beginning of twenty twenty four, Brian Norman Junior was
- 29:15Speaker 1: a prospect in my opinion, and I thought for a
- 29:22Speaker 1: prospect he got by far the best win. Now that
- 29:29Speaker 1: Bokachika fight, obviously, you know, the cuts messed that up,
- 29:36Speaker 1: but that was pro box. But his win over Giovanni,
- 29:44Speaker 1: I just think that's enough for me. You know, that's enough.
- 29:50Speaker 1: So Brian Norman Junior is my prospect of the year
- 29:57Speaker 1: because that that's just how I do it my opinion,
- 30:00Speaker 1: he wasn't a Now I understand Walter Waite is light
- 30:04Speaker 1: in the ass. Now, I get it, and I understand
- 30:11Speaker 1: how like, I'm sure there were some rankings out there
- 30:17Speaker 1: that had him ninth or something, you know, in the
- 30:22Speaker 1: top ten. But to me, he was still a prospect
- 30:25Speaker 1: because who had he beat to put him in full
- 30:28Speaker 1: on contender range. Just my point, he wasn't full on
- 30:33Speaker 1: contender range until he did that. You know, that's my opinion.
- 30:42Speaker 1: You that's okay if you don't like it. And it
- 30:46Speaker 1: was for introm belt, So I get it. I do
- 30:49Speaker 1: get that. But that's just that's how I see it.
- 30:53Speaker 1: That's how I see it. You may not see it
- 30:55Speaker 1: that way, and that's fine with me, but that's just
- 30:58Speaker 1: how I do it. So I got Brian Norman Junior,
- 31:02Speaker 1: who you know, let's hope that he can land a
- 31:08Speaker 1: big fight, and let's hope the financials don't don't like,
- 31:15Speaker 1: you know, poke a hole in it, because we all
- 31:17Speaker 1: know the boots thing. And that's a debate, like shitt
- 31:21Speaker 1: he had just taken the one point seven or whatever
- 31:24Speaker 1: it was. Sure, that's very fair. It's considering how much
- 31:29Speaker 1: he makes on his minimum and considering who his next
- 31:32Speaker 1: fight was after that, and how many fights it would take,
- 31:37Speaker 1: you know, to get back to that now. Could have
- 31:41Speaker 1: Eddie Hearn just went to two million. He's money bags, right,
- 31:47Speaker 1: Guccie uh, Gucci bag and all that. We all remember
- 31:50Speaker 1: that about five years ago. Yeah, he could have. He
- 31:56Speaker 1: could have and just gotten Boots a big fight. So
- 31:59Speaker 1: I still think though that Norman Junior could have taken
- 32:02Speaker 1: that fight. I don't see for that kind of money.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Upset of the year. You do have Kyron Davis over
- 32:11Speaker 1: Elijah Garcia. You have Angelo Leo Leo over Lopez. That
- 32:20Speaker 1: was pretty shocking. You had martiseliev back Room over Tim
- 32:27Speaker 1: Sue that was that was a thrashing, Dude, that was
- 32:31Speaker 1: a thrashing. You had that Dakota Linger Beaten Scobie. That
- 32:36Speaker 1: was another one. And there's more out there, obviously, especially
- 32:41Speaker 1: Odds wise. But Bruno. I think Bruno Beaten Mungia via
- 32:48Speaker 1: knockout after you know, he was on the freaking mat, dude,
- 32:53Speaker 1: Let's not forget about that. He was on the mat. Like,
- 32:59Speaker 1: that's the up set of the year for me. Sue Ross,
- 33:05Speaker 1: Sue Ross is the upset of the year. It's up
- 33:10Speaker 1: there for knockout of the year, that's for sure. So yeah,
- 33:14Speaker 1: that I would probably have to say that does it
- 33:17Speaker 1: for me. I also think that, you know, I do
- 33:24Speaker 1: think that they're I think odds wise, it was the
- 33:28Speaker 1: biggest one, but there are way more than what I thought.
- 33:32Speaker 1: I think it does have to be against a like
- 33:34Speaker 1: a high level opponent for me, like when someone gets
- 33:40Speaker 1: beaten their four and zero, I'm sure the odds are crazy, right,
- 33:44Speaker 1: And usually it's I don't pick the upset of the
- 33:47Speaker 1: year like this where it's exactly like this, like hot
- 33:52Speaker 1: the highest odds as an underdog, because I do like
- 33:56Speaker 1: it to mean something, you know, beaten Elijah Garcia, Tims,
- 34:00Speaker 1: Sue Lopez, Moukia, those are that's that's you know, that's legit,
- 34:05Speaker 1: legit upsets. So that is the upset of the year.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And knockout of the year. I just mentioned Leo that
- 34:15Speaker 1: could be in there. Sue Ross could be in there,
- 34:18Speaker 1: no doubt about that. Bahadi could be in there, a
- 34:25Speaker 1: j uh against any way anyway, in Ghanu in Ghanu
- 34:35Speaker 1: Tank knocking out Martin obviously you had you could Daniel
- 34:41Speaker 1: Dubois knocking out a j and the fifth, you know,
- 34:48Speaker 1: So I mean there there's plenty more than that too, obviously,
- 34:55Speaker 1: But for me, there was that Stram her and is knockout.
- 35:02Speaker 1: But for me it was sang In Wilder. For me,
- 35:06Speaker 1: it was sang It Wilder because, uh, the way he
- 35:12Speaker 1: caught him. He caught him just like Deontay would catch
- 35:14Speaker 1: someone like light him up and kind of freeze him
- 35:19Speaker 1: and then dudes off balance and he just runs up
- 35:22Speaker 1: on him and puts the light out like that body
- 35:30Speaker 1: or by Day Day. That one was nasty because old
- 35:35Speaker 1: boy was out and sometimes like Mungia and technically, like
- 35:45Speaker 1: you know, AJ kind of got like some of these guys.
- 35:48Speaker 1: It's not like, oh cold, you know what I mean.
- 35:51Speaker 1: But I also think there there's levels as well. So
- 35:55Speaker 1: to me, I just think I know Wilder's not in
- 35:58Speaker 1: his prime anymore. You could definitely say zang isn't either,
- 36:01Speaker 1: but I'd say just from sheer nastiness and timing and
- 36:08Speaker 1: just like oh gotcha, oh shit, your froze. Bam, you're done,
- 36:12Speaker 1: you know, in the fight's over. So to me, that
- 36:17Speaker 1: was the knockout of the year. AJ going face first.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I could see it. AJ's knockout too, Tank, Like I
- 36:26Speaker 1: mentioned a bunch of them. So yeah, now round of
- 36:30Speaker 1: the Year I mentioned Duboi AJ the fifth round Bam, Astrade.
- 36:34Speaker 1: I think that was the sixth round. Check my note. Yeah,
- 36:38Speaker 1: sixth round, that was pretty crazy. You know what I
- 36:44Speaker 1: did hear like dubois aj the fifth Did I say
- 36:48Speaker 1: that one? I did hear a lot of like the
- 36:53Speaker 1: ninth round for for Usik and Fury, But I I
- 36:59Speaker 1: don't know, man, I think that was a little one
- 37:02Speaker 1: sided to be the round of the year. You have
- 37:09Speaker 1: four ford uh clomatos the twelfth round. That was nasty
- 37:15Speaker 1: for me though, and then like I said, there there's
- 37:19Speaker 1: there's more than this obviously, but Ortiz boat chuck the
- 37:23Speaker 1: eighth round. To me, that that that took it for
- 37:28Speaker 1: round of the year personally, the event of the year. Now,
- 37:35Speaker 1: this is the one that when I see Ring magazine.
- 37:39Speaker 1: You know, Ring Magazine's always kind of been biased a
- 37:42Speaker 1: little bit, right the Mikey Garcia thing, Uh how they
- 37:47Speaker 1: didn't wait to see what was up and not just
- 37:51Speaker 1: make e Garcia thing. But you know the one to
- 37:54Speaker 1: three matchup that they forced instead of you know, they
- 37:59Speaker 1: they hopped. They had the number one fighter taken on
- 38:05Speaker 1: number three in that number two the number three fight
- 38:11Speaker 1: Anthony Crawla was just a better paycheck for Lenards. That's
- 38:15Speaker 1: all it was. So it's not that they couldn't get
- 38:19Speaker 1: the fight done or someone's heard or they're ducking them
- 38:22Speaker 1: or whatever. And one against three I'm not a big
- 38:25Speaker 1: fan of ever, but I do think you can make
- 38:30Speaker 1: the case for it At times. I do think that's
- 38:36Speaker 1: fair and go one against three to create lineal, but
- 38:40Speaker 1: it's it's rare, and that was not one of those cases.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I think it was just a or having Broner, like
- 38:50Speaker 1: I think he got up to fifth in the pound
- 38:52Speaker 1: for pound at the time, and he wasn't the fifth
- 38:57Speaker 1: boxer fifth best boxer. ESPN's ratings can be really whacked too,
- 39:02Speaker 1: for pound for pound and whatnot. So I just found
- 39:09Speaker 1: like when you basically the Ring magazine, for the most part,
- 39:13Speaker 1: they're uh, it was basically like everything Sadi did almost
- 39:18Speaker 1: you know, when they didn't well, you know, they didn't
- 39:22Speaker 1: mention Garcia Haini. The Fury Usk is an event because
- 39:27Speaker 1: of what it was. The five for five I thought
- 39:30Speaker 1: was a really good event. You know, if you're just
- 39:33Speaker 1: looking at a vent and traction and you know pay
- 39:41Speaker 1: per view numbers or viewership or the live gate because
- 39:46Speaker 1: that these are events, right, Tanks Fight did a big
- 39:52Speaker 1: number Canelos. Both fights did a big number. I would
- 39:55Speaker 1: favor muon Gia over Berlanga. But honestly, as much as
- 40:02Speaker 1: I didn't like it, the event of the year is
- 40:05Speaker 1: Tyson Paul. Like I'm not, I don't love saying that
- 40:10Speaker 1: as a boxing van. But if you look at the
- 40:14Speaker 1: viewership and then you look at the gate and I've
- 40:20Speaker 1: talked to people since then that have barely watched boxing, dude,
- 40:26Speaker 1: you know, and they're like, yeah, I checked it out.
- 40:29Speaker 1: I really loved that fight. On the undercard, you know,
- 40:31Speaker 1: the ones that could see it obviously, well, the whole
- 40:36Speaker 1: under card was kind of choppy, obviously, but they they
- 40:42Speaker 1: definitely got that shit out because as far as like
- 40:45Speaker 1: the messed up app because they did a lot better
- 40:47Speaker 1: job for the NFL. But yeah, you know, as much
- 40:50Speaker 1: as I hate to say it, because I don't, I
- 40:52Speaker 1: don't like this fight, per se, I did like the
- 40:55Speaker 1: undercard fights and so that was cool. But yeah, dude, Mike, Tyson,
- 41:00Speaker 1: Jake Paul, that was the event of the year. Man,
- 41:03Speaker 1: you really can't deny it. We're just talking about events.
- 41:08Speaker 1: We're not talking about what was the most meaningful event,
- 41:13Speaker 1: right because you'd have to put in a Turbia evolven.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I didn't see one person say that for an event
- 41:20Speaker 1: of the year. Furiousic, very meaningful, right, Garcia Haney drew
- 41:30Speaker 1: a lot of attention, But like I said, Canelo tank.
- 41:33Speaker 1: But the bottom line is that that Sadi card in La.
- 41:37Speaker 1: But the bottom line is the event of the year
- 41:42Speaker 1: in some ways unfortunate because it was basically like an exhibition, right,
- 41:48Speaker 1: So that does suck. But it was Netflix, and I
- 41:52Speaker 1: can't give Netflix the fucking network of the year for
- 41:55Speaker 1: one fight or for one event. But fortunately it was
- 41:58Speaker 1: Tyson Paul and I didn't see that really much anywhere.
- 42:06Speaker 1: But that's just telling the truth. You know, I didn't.
- 42:10Speaker 1: You guys know, if you listen to the show, I
- 42:12Speaker 1: did not like that matchup just in general. But I
- 42:15Speaker 1: understood why it was happening, and it happened, And look
- 42:19Speaker 1: at the viewership, look at the goddamn tickets, Like, what
- 42:25Speaker 1: was it? Eighteen mil? Nineteen mil at the gate that's
- 42:28Speaker 1: not easy to get to. So yeah, that is that
- 42:32Speaker 1: trainer of the year. You got Garcia, you got Don Charles,
- 42:36Speaker 1: you got you know, Loma's father, you know, was somebody
- 42:42Speaker 1: that should have gotten it a while back. Just just
- 42:46Speaker 1: because I'm going with Bob Santos. I thought, I think
- 42:49Speaker 1: he's done a really good job and sometimes you just
- 42:51Speaker 1: don't get it at the time when you should get
- 42:53Speaker 1: it or whatever. So that's what I'm going there. Charles,
- 42:58Speaker 1: that was cool, you know, for him to have a
- 43:03Speaker 1: good year like that, and and there's others obviously, but
- 43:08Speaker 1: that's what I'm gonna go with. So Fighter of the
- 43:14Speaker 1: Year for the women, you have Taylor, you have Serrano,
- 43:19Speaker 1: you have some other shields and whatnot. But Funda at
- 43:23Speaker 1: her age to do what she did how she did it,
- 43:29Speaker 1: because I think that her knockout was the knockout of
- 43:32Speaker 1: the year on the women's side too. Funda, she's got that.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Taylor Serrano I thought was the fight of the year. Again.
- 43:40Speaker 1: You can make an argument for other fights though, but
- 43:43Speaker 1: but Usik, BATERBEV and BAM are definitely like those are
- 43:54Speaker 1: the three that I would say, those are like the
- 43:56Speaker 1: top three this year. Usik Rodriguez in Perturbs and I
- 44:02Speaker 1: would have to go Husic. I would have to go
- 44:05Speaker 1: Usik on that one comeback Fighter of the Year. It
- 44:11Speaker 1: could be Leo, it could be Dubois, it could be
- 44:14Speaker 1: Joseph Parker. There are some other ones out there, but
- 44:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Leo Angel Leo. I know Dubois got
- 44:25Speaker 1: some good ass wins obviously, but I don't know. AJ's
- 44:35Speaker 1: not like I just think that I think that Leo
- 44:42Speaker 1: was right there on the cusp of being like a
- 44:44Speaker 1: legit fighter, like he was a I shouldn't say it
- 44:48Speaker 1: like that, but he was very close. You know, he
- 44:53Speaker 1: had gotten he had climbed the ladder and then got
- 44:56Speaker 1: knocked down right by a quality ass fighter, and he
- 45:01Speaker 1: worked his way back up and he beat Lopez, who's
- 45:04Speaker 1: been doing his thing lately. So that that's where I
- 45:06Speaker 1: got there on the comeback Fighter of the Year, Fight
- 45:09Speaker 1: of the Year, I already said that for the women,
- 45:12Speaker 1: the Taylor Serrano. For me, that was I had Serrano winning.
- 45:17Speaker 1: But whatever. That's also why one of the reasons I
- 45:21Speaker 1: can't give Katie Taylor the win for the year. You know,
- 45:26Speaker 1: fight Fighter of the Year, plus Fundora got it. So
- 45:30Speaker 1: fighting the year, you have Ortiz Boa, Chuck Usik, Fury
- 45:34Speaker 1: won Ford Plomatov or Lee Clark a j was obviously
- 45:42Speaker 1: a blast bam Estrada. You had Taraji uh Gonzalez or
- 45:54Speaker 1: whatever his name is. You had Peril Mattias, you had
- 45:57Speaker 1: Plant McCombe. That was a good, really good fight you had,
- 46:04Speaker 1: I thought. But Turba Bivel for Ball was a damn
- 46:09Speaker 1: good fights. That paid a Farmer was a really good fight.
- 46:13Speaker 1: That rock Mob was a really good fight I saw
- 46:19Speaker 1: the other day to slick name that one. And then
- 46:22Speaker 1: uh not Tashiga Kurell too. That was a damn good fight.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Damn good fight like that could have been the fighting here.
- 46:33Speaker 1: One of the fights he no doubt about it. That
- 46:37Speaker 1: Wordy Clark Man that was really really close to being
- 46:41Speaker 1: there for It's both fights. Really, I don't know, man,
- 46:52Speaker 1: this one's tough. I literally hadn't decided yet all the way.
- 46:59Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna go with the artis boat Jack
- 47:02Speaker 1: something like that, something like that. So oh, Cooper, someone
- 47:13Speaker 1: messaged me Cooper assume I seem, yeah, I saw that fight.
- 47:17Speaker 1: That was a good fight. That was a good fight.
- 47:22Speaker 1: So yeah, like you know there are like the first
- 47:30Speaker 1: quarter is gonna pop. It just feels weird because it's
- 47:34Speaker 1: gonna take a while. You know, it is gonna take
- 47:37Speaker 1: a while to get there. So that's this funky part
- 47:43Speaker 1: where you're like, all right, dude, I'm I'm pumped. Oh
- 47:47Speaker 1: another one, Ryan Mayer, Yeah, that that was another one
- 47:50Speaker 1: that I was. Someone messaged me that earlier. And as
- 47:56Speaker 1: we know, Sam Goodman is out of the Inuay fight.
- 48:00Speaker 1: The replacement yeah, not so good, not so good. Obviously,
- 48:06Speaker 1: you have the the rematch between Baterbev and Befal. That's
- 48:14Speaker 1: a that's a good like. I'm really looking forward to
- 48:16Speaker 1: that and Dmitri Bivel Befall like he needs to fight
- 48:26Speaker 1: every single round. And I would say, when you're having
- 48:34Speaker 1: a good round, keep it up, and then when you're
- 48:38Speaker 1: feeling like you're doing good like it's easy for me
- 48:40Speaker 1: to say. Obviously he was hurt from the punches to
- 48:43Speaker 1: the last three rounds. He kind of gave away the
- 48:45Speaker 1: fight to an extent, I would say, not to an
- 48:48Speaker 1: extent I think he did. But I'm looking forward to
- 48:52Speaker 1: that fight like a lot. Benevitez Morale obviously really looking
- 49:01Speaker 1: forward to that fight. Put Checko and Nelson coming up
- 49:08Speaker 1: here soon. Excuse me. I'm definitely definitely looking forward to
- 49:13Speaker 1: that fight. That should be a good one, is there.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Let me look at that Okay? Oh yeah, Mercado and Peedraza,
- 49:28Speaker 1: I think Mercado's gonna do his thing, and I had
- 49:31Speaker 1: him as a prospect of Year last year. I believe Oops, sorry,
- 49:40Speaker 1: I had to get some bog with her. I do
- 49:43Speaker 1: really like that. I think that's a really good fight
- 49:49Speaker 1: on you know, Benefitez Morale, like I the Figure Row
- 49:56Speaker 1: of Fulton fight, sign me the fuck up for that.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I think that Ista Cruz and Angel Fierra. I think
- 50:05Speaker 1: that's a little bit of a sleeper, to be honest
- 50:08Speaker 1: with you. There's some good fights on the that just
- 50:14Speaker 1: got announced as well, on the pre Limbs for just
- 50:17Speaker 1: normal you know normal Amazon on the pre Limbs, Oh yeah,
- 50:23Speaker 1: and then Keishan Davis against Denny's Baronshik. I like that fight.
- 50:29Speaker 1: That's a really good step up fight, and he stepped
- 50:32Speaker 1: up last time and handled his business like majorly, so
- 50:36Speaker 1: I'm really looking forward to that fight. I think that's
- 50:38Speaker 1: a damn good fight. And Joel Mason's on the undercard,
- 50:44Speaker 1: Delontae Johnson's on the under card. I heard those two
- 50:46Speaker 1: aren't gonna be on on the main card though. The
- 50:53Speaker 1: Sanders Aiez against uh I think it's Spawmer or something
- 50:58Speaker 1: like that. Spoer. I know Jared Anderson's on that card,
- 51:04Speaker 1: uh Polanco Polanco, and then Fido against Coyle Connor Coyle,
- 51:11Speaker 1: that's right, you know, Barbosa and Catall. You know, I
- 51:20Speaker 1: think it's an interesting fight. I'm not. I don't know
- 51:23Speaker 1: how fun it will be even to watch per se,
- 51:26Speaker 1: but I think it had has some interest in there.
- 51:29Speaker 1: You know, I would have to say, yeah, I think
- 51:35Speaker 1: there's there's definitely some interest there for me. Anyway. I
- 51:38Speaker 1: think it's a you know, a good skill fight. I
- 51:41Speaker 1: do want to see Dublanc Parker. I think that's interesting
- 51:46Speaker 1: because you know, Parker is not going to be facing
- 51:49Speaker 1: these faded guys, so let's see if that's same style
- 51:56Speaker 1: he's fought in in the strategy that he's used works
- 52:00Speaker 1: against the Bois Ortiz Modrunov. I mean, sign me the
- 52:07Speaker 1: fuck up for that fight. I love that fight. Speaking
- 52:10Speaker 1: of I love the fight Sang and Cabiel. I barely
- 52:16Speaker 1: like cabill in that fight, but I fucking love that fight.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Adam gets a step up fight. That's pretty cool. The
- 52:26Speaker 1: Hernandez Jerome that's a good fight. You know. I think
- 52:31Speaker 1: Roach is gonna do a little bit better than people
- 52:34Speaker 1: think against Davonte. I'm not gonna sit here and talk
- 52:37Speaker 1: up that fight like it's an awesome fight based off
- 52:42Speaker 1: some of the Underguard stuff. I want to see where
- 52:45Speaker 1: they go. You know, not all of it has been
- 52:48Speaker 1: announced obviously, but yeah, I mean there are some fights
- 52:53Speaker 1: man in literally within the next like two months, less
- 52:58Speaker 1: than two months, yeah, about two months that are are great,
- 53:02Speaker 1: like really really great. So you know, you just gotta
- 53:08Speaker 1: be patient for this a little bit, uh, and you
- 53:12Speaker 1: know it'll come back around. It will come back around.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Trust me. I did get a bunch of messages saying
- 53:23Speaker 1: is boxing gonna be back at the armory? I believe,
- 53:27Speaker 1: So I don't just based off dates they've had before.
- 53:33Speaker 1: I guess that, to be honest with you, I don't
- 53:36Speaker 1: know if that contract, if they're just gonna be like,
- 53:40Speaker 1: all right, let's go right back to the contract. But
- 53:42Speaker 1: that contract called for four fights a year, So I
- 53:48Speaker 1: don't know though right now, if that is still there.
- 53:53Speaker 1: I'm just being honest because I I you know, I've
- 53:56Speaker 1: asked around. It's been kind of hush hush keeping track.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Of the easiest way to do it is if they
- 54:04Speaker 1: get it scheduled right then he at least know. But
- 54:10Speaker 1: the fact is they had two different events, and especially
- 54:13Speaker 1: one in December scheduled and then it fell off. So well,
- 54:17Speaker 1: when I say scheduled, they they had it booked. Let's say,
- 54:24Speaker 1: so you know, take it for what it is. You know,
- 54:31Speaker 1: we heard Mattias and Tao Feeble Lopez. That's obviously long gone.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Tayl's been on one lately. He has been just on one.
- 54:47Speaker 1: I think it's like the best way to say it.
- 54:49Speaker 1: It's like and well, you know, he first of all,
- 54:53Speaker 1: he said some racists as shit, let's not forget about that.
- 54:58Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't know, you know, his thing was
- 55:04Speaker 1: like I remember him saying something like, well, he's not
- 55:06Speaker 1: worthy of the lineal champions, so I didn't turn him
- 55:10Speaker 1: down or whatever, you know. And now we did hear
- 55:12Speaker 1: about the IBF creating you know, uh, basically an eliminator
- 55:21Speaker 1: to become a mandatory of Hitchins Richardson Hitchins and that
- 55:25Speaker 1: would be Elvis Rodriguez and Mattias. But there was a
- 55:29Speaker 1: little funkiness around that too. We're still waiting to see
- 55:34Speaker 1: if Ennison Stanonius can get done get it over the line.
- 55:42Speaker 1: And I haven't heard much in the way of like
- 55:48Speaker 1: and by the way, Ring Magazine from my understanding, we're
- 55:55Speaker 1: laid on this story and it should have been Matt
- 55:57Speaker 1: at Bunch Boxing. That's Charlie portions from Ring Magazine on
- 56:05Speaker 1: that on that you know, boost thing. And by the way,
- 56:10Speaker 1: you know, we don't get a lot of detail. We
- 56:13Speaker 1: get a lot of detail from Eddie, but then there's
- 56:15Speaker 1: certain times when you want more detail, you know. So
- 56:18Speaker 1: it's like we heard that the offers coming from Stanonius
- 56:24Speaker 1: were better than what they were offering, So what's up
- 56:29Speaker 1: with that? Then, you know, get the fucking fight done
- 56:32Speaker 1: and stop talking about it, you know, in the public.
- 56:36Speaker 1: I don't think that's much to ask. So taya Fema
- 56:38Speaker 1: Lopez down here, Like I said, he's been on one.
- 56:47Speaker 1: I'm too expensive for Top Ring. But the truth is
- 56:53Speaker 1: Todd de buff is the issue here. He hasn't like
- 56:56Speaker 1: me or my father since they started the takeover stat
- 57:00Speaker 1: Less in twenty eighteen, like that's nineteen eighteen or something,
- 57:05Speaker 1: and probably beforehand. Now he's the chairman of Top Rank,
- 57:09Speaker 1: So people do the math. By law, I have a
- 57:13Speaker 1: freedom of speech. This motherfucker believes he knows the Constitution,
- 57:17Speaker 1: and shit, dude, he legit thinks he knows the con
- 57:21Speaker 1: The top rank ESPN contract deal ends July twenty six,
- 57:24Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, and for contract your reasons cannot overlap
- 57:30Speaker 1: another network deal until then. If so, it becomes a
- 57:35Speaker 1: conflict of interest which can be binded there, which can
- 57:39Speaker 1: bind their current contract bind h they need to a
- 57:44Speaker 1: FEMO to get a more lucrative network deal, don't you know? Not?
- 57:54Speaker 1: Oh here, here's another one, dude, not one, I mean,
- 57:58Speaker 1: not one. No one fighter boxer has which is okay,
- 58:05Speaker 1: has brought more to the table and interest than tayl
- 58:08Speaker 1: Fema Lopez since the days of Mayweather and Canelo. That's
- 58:12Speaker 1: just so stupid. But what first of all, Canelos still
- 58:16Speaker 1: up in this bitch? So I don't know if you
- 58:19Speaker 1: know that. Bruce Trampler added Tao is truly a big
- 58:23Speaker 1: name on my personal faves and that's why his fight
- 58:27Speaker 1: should be well, it should well on pay per view.
- 58:32Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean he's saying a lot. By the way,
- 58:35Speaker 1: the Bronx Bomber sounds like he's gonna be back in
- 58:38Speaker 1: April on b ok Prime, which I will not give
- 58:43Speaker 1: my credit card to love me some wilder. Don't really
- 58:47Speaker 1: want to see him fight anymore per se, But it
- 58:51Speaker 1: won't be the first time, won't be the last time, right,
- 58:53Speaker 1: that type of shit. There was rumors of Devinie Devin
- 58:57Speaker 1: Haney going there too, but now it doesn't sound like
- 59:01Speaker 1: that's the point or that's gonna happen. Tao Fema Lopez.
- 59:05Speaker 1: I wonder if Top Rank is hitting their minimum benchmarks
- 59:08Speaker 1: with their ESPN deal out of the eighty nine million.
- 59:12Speaker 1: I wonder if an audit would help ESPN. No wonder
- 59:16Speaker 1: why ESPN wants to leave Top Ranking to buff Oh.
- 59:28Speaker 1: I did hear or see? It's been out for a while,
- 59:32Speaker 1: so it's been I don't know who got it first.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I don't know if it was pug Meyer or what.
- 59:37Speaker 1: But Oscar Duerte and Regi's progress plan for February fifteenth
- 59:44Speaker 1: and Anaheim interesting. Interesting now, Stephen Shaw, I forgot to
- 59:50Speaker 1: mention this. I see this in my message, Stephen Shaw.
- 59:53Speaker 1: So the ring, you know, the Bok Prime pay per
- 59:59Speaker 1: view would be wilder, and they said Shaw but then
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Shah didn't know much about it. So I don't know
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: if that's someone put that out there to try to,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: you know, get there or what. But I don't know.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Here's boxing forecast. David Nayaka is six six foot six,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: looks like a specimen, has strong amateur background, but I
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: think Opataia makes him look like a big stiff and
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: takes him out poorly inside six rounds. Well you know
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: he uh, he got that right, he got that right.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I think I already mentioned this. Kermel Motein will be
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: on that better be this morele guard I believe so
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: if I remember correctly, the ben baby didn't He used
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: to work for ESPN in some form. Maybe he still does.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: But he said the sport isn't such just spare because
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: too many boxers hate boxing. Oh boy, So that's it.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: That's that's it. Huh that's the only okay. So the
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: this is Keith Idac who, speaking of being on one,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: has been on one. The lesson this one's more of
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: a positive on one to an extent, though, The lesson
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: from Opataia Nayaika for the most talented, strongest young fighters
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: who enjoy some success sometimes insparring is that once you
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: lace them up ten ounces, take off the heg here
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: and those bright lights shine on you. There's level to this. Yeah,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: that is the thing. He did look the part, though.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I will say that Eddie Hearn also Adac said that
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: that he spoke to Oscar de la Joya and they
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: want to do the zerto in Opataia. Maybe it could
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: be part of a five for five in May or
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: a different card in late spring summer. That would be
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: a good fight. I kind of like it because they're
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: both at the same way class two and Keith Eadach
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: also said Tayo Fema Lopez turned down top ranks final
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: offer way above his contract minimum contracted minimum according to
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: what I was told before a deadline late last night,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: and this is a while ago now. For the WBO
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: one forty title fight versus Mattias Lopez and Matias would
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: have fought on ESPN main event pay per view March fifteenth,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: So in some ways, I'm glad that didn't happen. He said,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I would like to see who Tayo Fema eventually agrees
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: to fight before he fully forms his opinion on that,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: which I think I think is pretty legit. You know
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: that that's a good way to look at stuff. Yeah,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I think that that's pretty good. Jim carrass would would
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: like to see Opataia going to Speedy a cruiserweight before
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: jumping up the heavyweight sirtle and Badu Jack are holding
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: other titles. Shouldn't be too difficult to make those fights.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: That's true. I mean Badu Jack at this point would
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: be just the title. But you know, I don't know.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I'm not sure about that now, Eddie Hearn said according
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: to Chris Mannix or not according to him, it was
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: on a show. He said the top ranks offered to
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Boots for Tao Fema was less money than Ennis earned
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: against Karen. Now he did say, or right around that.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: But it's like, okay, well maybe he's getting overpaid to
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: fight Karen, and you know Karen's gonna complain because that's
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: what Karen's do. But have you ever met and this
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: is a question, this is a question that white people actually,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: have you ever met and talked to it an actual Karen?
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Because I know Karen's attack you know minorities more especially
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: black man and black people. But as a white person
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: out there, have you ever really come across is your mom?
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: A Karen is your girlfriend? Of Karen is your wife?
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: M Karen is your side chicken can No, that probably
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: wouldn't work anyway. I don't know, I got lost there.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: You know what, I'm not even gonna someone sent me
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: this from Tayo. I'm not even gonna do it. Okay,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: So I saw this Golden Boy. I saw someone post
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: this shit, right, This Golden Boy video is a throwback.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: It says Mayweather versus Guerrero, Floyd struggles with ghost boxing ability.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: That's where we're at, folks, because I remember, if there's
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: one fight, there's a couple, we're tough over his career,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: you know, several whatever, But that that was one of them. Dude,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: that Guerrero fight. Man, he didn't know what to do
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: with Bro. They should get another rematch for that gritty
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: from the underground shots out to Detroit. So Tao don't
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: want no smoke. But Brian Norman, Junior, Kenny Simms, Martaya
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Rodriguez Davis and Mattias none of the offers were really good.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: The Turndown hashtag the Turndown Kid. And they brought in
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Hany on that too, and hopefully it just gets solved
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: this hany stuff in him and they actually get a fight.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: But them, we're here in the other way, and I
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: don't know. I have heard people say, Butterba's, you know,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: gonna want to go up to fight Opataiya if he
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: gets to win again. I'd like that fight better than USA.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Kavin had dropped twenty five pounds to go back to
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: cruiserweight and noinly that. But if but Turba did win,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: then he could be like, hey, bring your ass down. Now,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I don't know. Here's another one from brunch Boxing talking
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: about that the ESPN. ESPN's not done with top rank
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: per se in that contrary to the media reports, sources
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: tell brunch Boxing that ESPN is opening aside and multi
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: your extension with top Rank. But it just you know,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: it's up to top rank, so financial stuff comes into play. Obviously,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: A key sticky point is negotiations. The annual budget sides
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: are eight figures apart. ESPN is looking for Top Rank
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: to deliver better fights and bigger events for the budget
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: they are given. Top Rank has been linked to various
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: streaming services, including his own Amazon Prime you know, all
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: that good stuff. Al Dawson broke a little news on
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: Ryo in Russell that that fight is gonna happen in Minneapolis.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Now that'd be great, by the way, but I haven't
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: heard that, so don't quote me on that. But I
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: really like that fight. I really like that fight. Chief
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: Funk Chief Funky. A huge problem in US boxing is
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: fighters demanding a fortune and they can't sell tickets or paper.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: That is true, but we know what's started. We don't
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: need to know that the chicken or the egg what
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: came first. We know the promoters and the managers in
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: the platforms put out that money, and we know since
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: his own came in, they went crazy with it. Now
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Sadi's going even crazier with it. So that does that
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: does now? According to lot Banita del Boxo on Ig,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: it looks like there might be a rematch of the
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: upset of the year Sue Ross it always it sounds
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: like a Navy seal things sorry. In Mungia April twelfth, Tijuana. Interesting,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Here's something I don't know if it's true, but Caesar's
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Caesar Sayda Elvis Rodriguez will not go forward with Sebral
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Mattias fight because he believes Mattias doesn't deserve it. Top
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: rank is looking to make the Rodriguez el ma yomar
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: oh okay? Is that true? I wonder if that's true?
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Alamo fight huh man? Oh boy? All right? Oh? I
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: did see a double A from sn Boxing said he
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: spoke to Chris Glover on pro Box a pro Box.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: He said, two trends of pro Box in twenty twenty
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: five are they will still be doing cards around the country,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: with only a couple back in the Plant City. Also,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: they will be moving to weekend fights instead of Wednesdays.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: And I'm kind of like torn on that, although I
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: understand why they don't want to go on a Wednesday
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: because financial you know, the finances that does. You know,
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: it is tough to sell a card on Wednesday night,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: you know, especially if you go into that same venue.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: But like from a spoiled point of view, like a boxer,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: I do love that midweek stuff. But I get it.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: I do get that part.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: Um.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: Someone sent me about Bradley from a boxing scene article
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Don't go running away right from the fight now talking
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: about the Crawford fight and this kind of this quote,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: when the hell was the last time Caneli knock somebody out?
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: That's fair, But once again, I don't know, like it's
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: just I don't know the way he says. I think
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: it's sometimes what he says sometimes is how he says it.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: This was just a quote, but I can almost hear
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: him saying it, and it's like all right, well, do
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: you really want to say on knockouts did because he
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: weren't the knockout king. So Martin and De los Santo's
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: are negotiations for a fight. Whether that's on the Spence
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Fandora I couldn't tell you because the Fandora Spence thing
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: March twenty ninth, and they said, no, that's not true.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: And Spence even said that's that's not my date or
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: the location, you know, that type of thing. So whatever.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: By the way, I also saw this on brunch Boxing.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: The IBF grant Slomachenko a medical excemptant exception. So uh,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: I believe that they ordered an interroim. There you go,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: interrum lightweight title between Martaya and Abu abdual Lef. I
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: do obviously, Oh, here we go. Not my date or location,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: that's what That's what Spence says. So it's it's just
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: the date. It's the fights on though. Here's one that
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: I did not know prior is Jamal Herring. You know,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: he was arrested on Thursday for an allegedmentsdemeanor domestic violent
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: domestic violence of assault. Right, I guess the next court
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: date is coming up here kind of soon. The twenty first,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: But he was basically booked in the Warren County Jail
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: in Ohio. The bail set and all that stuff. But
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: what I didn't know, but I had not I did
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: not know that. And I'm reading off a tweet of
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: brunch boxing pictures provided by Jen from the alleged incident,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: depicting scratch marks on her neck. When police questioned Jamel
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: Herring about the photographs, he claimed they were from a
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: separate incident December twenty twenty three, an incident in which
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: he was also arrested for domestic violence. According to TMC,
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: pictures were provided by Jen from the alleged incident. So yeah,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: I didn't know he got I did not know last year,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: a little over a year ago, twenty twenty thirty December,
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: that he got that he got arrested for that. Wow,
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: We'll wait and see. But obviously that's pretty fucked up.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Here's here's a perfect example of just a worthless tweet,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: but people doing it for this is fight up TV?
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Could this be one of the biggest fights of the year?
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Berlanga in Rosato? I mean, really, dude, are we really? Dude? Seriously, like,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: come on, dog, what are we doing here that that's no.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Then every like like a couple of times a year,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: people send me, what do I think of this boxing wreck?
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: The poundful pound list right, and it has anyway Alvarez, Davis, Crawford,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: p Turbia, Na Katzani, Bivel, Benevete, Schkor and Ennis and
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: it shouldn't be there at Usik's thirteen. Dude, the ship
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: is a on average when you just looked at the
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: rankings on average, the box wreck shit, the ranking shit sucks, dude,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: So I wouldn't even I wouldn't even mess with it,
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: to be honest with you, Roll Boxing says, I think
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: there's a case and I'd make it that Usik was
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: the fighter of the year, won the fight of the year,
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: and was in the round of the year. I did
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: you know, the Round of the year. I just disagree
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: with here's Luki Boxing Sunday conversation. This is actually at
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: the end of last year. If if Usik isn't a
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: top five heboight of all time, who is and why?
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: I just don't think the wins he has makes them
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: top five. The Fury win is phenomenal, the AJ win
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: is very solid, you know, to blot very solid wins.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I just want to put them in the top five.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I just wouldn't do it. I gotta be honest with you.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: I just wouldn't do it. I just would not do it.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: Go through my messages a little bit more. Here we
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: do have I think I think that's let's see. Yeah,
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: something else here. Oh the SADI, the new boxing Saudi
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: League with t k O. Yeah, we'll see, you know,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: whether they're going to prospect for route or whatever. We'll see.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: We'll see what's going on with that. I've talked about
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: that a little bit. Oh here, so Turkey, these are
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: the fights Turkey wants to see Alvarez Crawford, which we
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: have heard reportedly is done for September by miss Conte
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: or missus. I'm not sure, but yeah, I don't know
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: if that's true or not. Busick du Bois to Fury Joshua.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: By the way, Tyson Fury said he retired. It is
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: what it is, Ryan Garcia Haini and then you banged
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Junior and Ben. That shit is getting so old, dude,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Like those are okay fights. I wish it would be
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Canelo Benevetez. But you know, the Crawford won if done
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: right and advertised, well, shit, it will be September possibly advertised,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: you know, for through football and whatnot. I think I
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: think it would have a chance to do something. I
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: think it would have to have a chance to do something.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Williams Zipata and zip Patta and Tevin Farmer and talks
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: for a rematch. According to Tevin Farmer, I don't see
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: a problem with that. Actually, Drabante, oh Grabante said, tell
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: him to send the bag and I'm coming. He said,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty. Sounds like he's doing his Canelo impression,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: which should be obviously silly. One hundred and fifty upfront
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: to do that. I do not think. So. I think
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: that's about it. Oh yeah, Chakor says he's gonna take
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: over the sport of boxing one fight at that time,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: sir okay. So I literally every ten days I get
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: something with that from that fake Michael Bentson account. Dude,
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: oh dude, oh man. This is our society now. They
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: don't understand. This is bullshit and it's a fake account.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Because you can just buy the check mark, because remember
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: the check mark. If you buy the check mark it
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: was supposed to you could show that you were you.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: I'm me, you know, I'm him, right, It's me. Look
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: I got a blue check. But that's not what it's about.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: It never was about that, obviously, and we all know
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: the misinformation. Disinformation is just outright lies. Have been fucked
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: up on this after a while now. But he said
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: Devin Hany is poorly in the hospital after being assaulted.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: Like this is not this is intrud, dude, it's not
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: a real account. Okay, it's fake. Hey, you know, I
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: mean the other one was bullshit anyway, But okay, someone
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: dug up a tweet from twenty nineteen from hearing calm that.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Calm that down, Chief, I don't promote or agree with
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: anything related to domestic violence. Don't time my name to
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: that shit or come over here with it. Well, I
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: guess we're gonna have to see about that. That that
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: uh oh yeah, here's here's Tayo Fema Lopez not just
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: boxing and I g I didn't turn no damn fight down.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: We always fight the best. But we don't believe Mattias
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: is worthy opponent for the ring title. Do you think
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: a guy would that has no fan base, that lost
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: in his home country serves that type of Jesus Christ,
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: because you know, you have such a huge fan base.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Ryan Garcia, that was the big sticking point. I guess
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: Garcia is like, I'll do the fight, but it can't
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: have VADA. But if I sign up for it, then
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: you know I'll do drug testing. But oh okay. So
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Julius Juliannis says that Canel Crawford is actually in Vegas September.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: That was what that was. So there's a there's a
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: rumor going around that's gonna be Williams Skull and then
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: that if he fights Skull next time, it's like, uh,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: what are we doing? Two time undisputed dude, it's gonna
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: be a two time undefeated because he lost one of
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: his belts and now it's back to being a oh boy.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Oh okay, So I guess Turkey sent Devin Haney and
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Garcia offer to fight in April or May to do it.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: Says three sixty five twenty four to seven drive. It
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: can't be three sixty five with the ships in April
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: or May. But that was the rumor that you know
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: they're waiting on it. They're waiting on him. So if
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: you do that, Cynthia conte A very reliable source told
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: me that Devin Haney has officially dropped his lawsuit against
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: Garcia if he agrees to VADA. Garcia has agreed to
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: do VADA and the rematches on that. That's that's what
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: has been said. I don't know what that's gonna be
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: a fact or not. I don't know that to be
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: a true. Now that Dennis McCann's he was all that
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: the DUDEO test to pause for drugs lately, that doctor usman.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: Just just follow him and you'll know what I mean.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Follow the boxers that are with him. Lohannah Shot came
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: up with a great tweet. Tyson Fury has announced his
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: retirement from boxing. I'm going to give it a give
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: it three to five business days. Yeah, no shit, that's
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: that's so well said two times undisputed. Bro. All right,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I'm out of here, man. I think I'm gonna get
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: out of here. I hope everybody's been doing all right.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: The show's not done. I do appreciate those who reached
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: out and asked me if I'm doing okay. I did
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: have kind of a rough last chunk of the year.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: Multiple deaths kind of close to me or very close
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: to me. One of them. So yeah, man, you know,
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: it is what it is. But honestly, there's so much
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: hardship and so much stuff going on that you know,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: in California just in general, the life that I'm not
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: on some whate is me, but I do appreciate the sentiment.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: And yeah, not going anywhere. Like I said, you're gonna
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: have to come up to me and like slit my
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: throat or something. You think I'm gonna be done with
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: this podcast? Okay, Like I said, the last one I
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: did was just popping, and so I didn't want to
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: cut its legs off. I didn't have recap from the
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: New Year's and it was just kind of a dead moment.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: So I just kind of let it ride for a
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: little bit, and I figure I'd come back and kind
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: of just pop up on you guys. All right, So
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I had to do my pop out like Kendrick. All Right,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: I'll shut up anyway. We'll be back on a weekly basis. Okay,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: we ain't going anywhere, but yeah, have a fun week
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: and weekend. Enjoy your life, Enjoy any fights that will
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: pop off. If something's from overseas or something I don't
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: know about, send me a video per usual. I'll watch it,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I'll talk about it anyway. I may get out face
