Latest / Beyond The Horizon / Mega Edition: The Chad Daybell Trial (Part 8) (10/19/26)
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the program. In
- 0:04Speaker 1: this episode, we're getting right back to the Chad Daybell trial,
- 0:07Speaker 1: and we're going to check out what went down during
- 0:10Speaker 1: day number eight of testimony. And once again, we're going
- 0:14Speaker 1: to be using the eastidahonews.com's coverage to guide us. And
- 0:20Speaker 1: with Nate Eaton out on vacation, we'll be following along
- 0:23Speaker 1: with Caitlin Hart instead. And my guy Nate Eaton certainly
- 0:27Speaker 1: deserves to get himself a week off, right? My dude's
- 0:29Speaker 1: been out here on the grind for us. And hopefully
- 0:32Speaker 1: Nate enjoys his time off. All right, so to the
- 0:34Speaker 1: business at hand. 824 a.m. Hi, everybody. Caitlin Hart with EastIdahoNews.com
- 0:42Speaker 1: here today, filling in for Nate Eaton on his week off.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I'm not in the courtroom, but I will do my
- 0:47Speaker 1: best to bring you minute-by-minute updates from the court's live stream.
- 0:51Speaker 1: 841 a.m. Retired FBI agent Doug Hart will be back
- 0:57Speaker 1: on the stand this morning. Judge Boyce says he had
- 0:59Speaker 1: a brief sidebar with the attorneys about removing commentary from
- 1:03Speaker 1: an exhibit. 8.42 a.m. Jurors were just brought into the courtroom.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Chad is sitting at the defense table wearing a light
- 1:10Speaker 1: blue shirt and a red tie. 8.46 a.m. Lindsay Blake
- 1:15Speaker 1: is continuing her questioning of Hart this morning. She shows
- 1:18Speaker 1: a slide detailing text messages between Chad and Lori. 8.47 a.m.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Hart says the text messages show that Lori had found
- 1:26Speaker 1: out that Charles Vallow had changed the beneficiary on his
- 1:29Speaker 1: life insurance policy. And that launched Lori Vallow into orbit, right?
- 1:33Speaker 1: The second she found out she wasn't going to be
- 1:35Speaker 1: the beneficiary, right on the phone with old Stu Knott
- 1:38Speaker 1: over here, talking about how Charles changed the beneficiary and
- 1:42Speaker 1: how she thought it was going to be changed to Kay.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And then she has the audacity to say, well, at
- 1:47Speaker 1: least I'm still getting the four G's from Social Security.
- 1:51Speaker 1: So again, it was always about the money with Lori Vallow.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Oh sure, there was a little bit of this weird-ass
- 1:56Speaker 1: extremist religious nonsense wrapped up in it. But the real
- 2:00Speaker 1: motivation here with her and Chad was for them to
- 2:03Speaker 1: be together and for them to clock as much dough
- 2:06Speaker 1: in the process as possible. 8.48 a.m. Hart describes the
- 2:10Speaker 1: next slide that displays the life insurance documents showing Kay
- 2:13Speaker 1: Woodcock was the beneficiary. Lori sent Chad proof of the
- 2:18Speaker 1: change of beneficiary. We don't see the slide because some
- 2:21Speaker 1: of the personal information needs to be redacted. 8.49 a.m.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Lori tells Chad, Mel wants us to come up there tomorrow,
- 2:28Speaker 1: but I said next Thursday to Sunday. What do you think?
- 2:32Speaker 1: She then texts Melanie Boudreaux, we just had a big fight.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Probably no go on next week. 8.50 a.m. Hart says
- 2:40Speaker 1: it struck him that there seemed to be a conflict
- 2:42Speaker 1: between Lori and Chad in these text messages. Melanie Boudreaux
- 2:46Speaker 1: and Lori were wanting to go to Rexburg to visit Chad,
- 2:49Speaker 1: on August 7th, 2019. At this time, Charles Vallow had
- 2:54Speaker 1: been dead for almost a month. She wasted no time, huh?
- 2:59Speaker 1: This dude's dead, hardly buried, hardly even cold, and she's
- 3:03Speaker 1: talking about, let's go to Rexburg so I can have
- 3:05Speaker 1: a session with old Stunato over here. 8.51 a.m. Pryor
- 3:12Speaker 1: objects and Boyce sustains it, and Boyce reminds Pryor to
- 3:16Speaker 1: use his microphone. Pryor says his microphone is not on,
- 3:19Speaker 1: so the judge asks the court staff to turn it on. 8.53 a.m.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Hart says Chad had a family vacation planned when Lori
- 3:27Speaker 1: and Melanie wanted to come visit. The fight between Chad
- 3:30Speaker 1: and Lori was over the differences in the schedules. Well,
- 3:34Speaker 1: that's weird. I thought he was a prophet. He couldn't
- 3:36Speaker 1: prophesize that he'd have a schedule conflict here. Bro better
- 3:39Speaker 1: get in touch with his spirits or whatever guides him
- 3:43Speaker 1: during the process. and have a talk with him, because
- 3:46Speaker 1: obviously that prophesizing that he's up to, well, just another
- 3:50Speaker 1: failed venture for Chad Daybell. 8.55 a.m. Hart says the
- 3:56Speaker 1: text messages show that this was the first big fight
- 3:59Speaker 1: that they would have. Chad said his heart was crushed,
- 4:02Speaker 1: and he would never stop loving her. 8.57 a.m. Chad
- 4:07Speaker 1: texted Lori, good night, saddest day of my life. About
- 4:10Speaker 1: half an hour later, he sent, Grandpa Keith is here,
- 4:13Speaker 1: I am supposed to warn you that you are unprotected.
- 4:16Speaker 1: The angels are angry that you are ignoring me. I
- 4:19Speaker 1: told him to go back, but he says he isn't
- 4:21Speaker 1: allowed to. I am honestly not trying to manipulate you.
- 4:25Speaker 1: To respond, I understand that you need your space, but
- 4:28Speaker 1: they say you have cut me off and the protection
- 4:30Speaker 1: I built around your house is gone. I love you
- 4:33Speaker 1: and don't want you getting attacked. They said if you
- 4:36Speaker 1: at least give me a question, it will restore our
- 4:39Speaker 1: connection enough to give some protection. Grandpa Keith is Lori's
- 4:43Speaker 1: deceased grandfather. Imagine this moron. Oh, I'm not trying to
- 4:47Speaker 1: manipulate you or anything, but Grampy Keith is over here
- 4:50Speaker 1: and he's saying you better hit me back up because
- 4:53Speaker 1: the spirits over in the spirit world, well, they're not
- 4:55Speaker 1: happy and you're going to lose your protection. Imagine saying
- 4:59Speaker 1: that kind of shit with a stray face. And then
- 5:01Speaker 1: from Lori Vallow's perspective, forget it. Imagine believing somebody telling
- 5:05Speaker 1: you this nonsense and not only believing it, but leaning
- 5:08Speaker 1: into it. 8.58 a.m. Lori responded, I love you. Chad responded,
- 5:13Speaker 1: thank you, my love. I will get things restored. Well,
- 5:16Speaker 1: now that you love me again, I'll make sure Grandpa
- 5:19Speaker 1: Keith Richards comes over and we get all those protections
- 5:22Speaker 1: set back up so that the darks don't come over
- 5:25Speaker 1: and get you. We don't want Ned Schneider showing up, right?
- 5:28Speaker 1: 9 a.m. The next night, Lori sent Chad a photo
- 5:32Speaker 1: of her on a beach wearing a yellow swimsuit with
- 5:34Speaker 1: the text, surprises are waiting. Hart says that this is
- 5:38Speaker 1: an example of how Lori... manipulated Chad Daybell. Look, there
- 5:42Speaker 1: is certainly a lot of that going on. And I'll
- 5:45Speaker 1: be the first to say that Lori is a vile skafooza.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And Chad Daybell was certainly led by his private parts
- 5:53Speaker 1: when it comes to Lori Vallow. But does that give
- 5:56Speaker 1: him an excuse? Does that make him any less guilty
- 5:59Speaker 1: for conspiring with Lori Vallow to do what they did? Well,
- 6:03Speaker 1: his defense team is going to try and set it
- 6:04Speaker 1: up like he was just somebody that was easily manipulated
- 6:09Speaker 1: and led along here. But the prosecution, they're going to
- 6:12Speaker 1: tell you and they're going to prove to you, at
- 6:14Speaker 1: least it seems that way, that Chad Daybell wasn't just
- 6:18Speaker 1: somebody being led along. He was somebody that was involved
- 6:22Speaker 1: in the planning and the carrying out of the scheme
- 6:25Speaker 1: that they concocted together. So it's crafty that the defense
- 6:29Speaker 1: would try and make it out that Chad Daybell is
- 6:31Speaker 1: another victim here. We all know that the evidence and
- 6:35Speaker 1: the reality is something completely different. 9.01 a.m. That same night,
- 6:42Speaker 1: Lori texted Chad, Very good description of what just happened.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Wish you were really here to experience this with me. Later,
- 6:49Speaker 1: she texted him again, Thank you for being mine. Wish
- 6:52Speaker 1: I could wake up and kiss your sweet, tender lips
- 6:54Speaker 1: for real. You are my everything. Hart says this indicated
- 6:58Speaker 1: they were using portals to communicate with each other, even
- 7:01Speaker 1: though they understand it's not real or really true. 9.03am
- 7:04Speaker 1: On August 11th, 2019, Chad texted, I will join you.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Partly why I'm so sad is my Boise trip has
- 7:13Speaker 1: turned into a trip with extended family. Not happy about it.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Lori says, how much more of this can you take?
- 7:20Speaker 1: Chad responded, they want to go to Craters of the
- 7:23Speaker 1: Moon National Park. I can't take much more. So trapped.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Lori says, are we supposed to wait forever? Chad is
- 7:30Speaker 1: on vacation with Tammy and his family at the time, 9.05 a.m.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Chad tells Lori, no, but the next two days will
- 7:37Speaker 1: be torture. Thankfully, I will be alone most of Wednesday
- 7:40Speaker 1: and beyond. Lori says, is that what he wants? For
- 7:43Speaker 1: me to sit around and wait for you endlessly and
- 7:46Speaker 1: you miserably wasting time? It just doesn't feel right. Chad says,
- 7:51Speaker 1: I'm so frustrated. I'm sorry, honey. Lori responds, you can't
- 7:55Speaker 1: just keep tearing my heart out. I really can't take
- 7:57Speaker 1: it anymore. I'm sorry. This is one month to the
- 8:00Speaker 1: day after Charles Vallow's death. So their covenant was Chad
- 8:06Speaker 1: Daybell gets rid of Tammy and Lori Vallow gets rid
- 8:09Speaker 1: of the kids and Charles Vallow. That was the conspiracy.
- 8:14Speaker 1: That's what Lori Vallow ended up going to prison for.
- 8:17Speaker 1: And that's what Chad Daybell's on trial for now as
- 8:20Speaker 1: we speak. So even if they make the case that
- 8:23Speaker 1: Chad was manipulated by Lori, that doesn't get him out
- 8:26Speaker 1: of a conspiracy charge and certainly not out of a
- 8:29Speaker 1: conspiracy conviction. 9.06 a.m. Lori then says, if you really
- 8:33Speaker 1: love me, you wouldn't want that either. She then tells him,
- 8:36Speaker 1: you should give all of your love and attention to
- 8:39Speaker 1: your wife and family. I'm just a distraction. Go have
- 8:42Speaker 1: fun with your family. I really want you to. I
- 8:44Speaker 1: just can't be in the way anymore. If things change,
- 8:47Speaker 1: then we can talk, but we have nothing until things
- 8:49Speaker 1: change anyway. 9.08 a.m. Chad responds, Oh, honey, that is
- 8:54Speaker 1: so crushing. I feel so destroyed inside. You know my
- 8:57Speaker 1: love for you is deep and real. I want change.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I'm constantly begging for change. I want you. Nothing else matters.
- 9:05Speaker 1: But I'm hindering your life, and you deserve better. I
- 9:07Speaker 1: love you so intensely. Can you imagine this prattling, whining-ass clown,
- 9:12Speaker 1: Chad Daybell? Every day, my disdain for this dude just
- 9:17Speaker 1: continues to grow. 9-11 a.m. Chad then says, but I
- 9:21Speaker 1: will leave you alone, as excruciating as that will be,
- 9:24Speaker 1: until I hear from you. Lori responds, you can't say
- 9:27Speaker 1: to me nothing else matters, because everything is before me.
- 9:30Speaker 1: If that's what the Lord wants, then, I'm... I just
- 9:33Speaker 1: need to do something else so I can pull myself
- 9:35Speaker 1: out of this deep despair. It's not like me to
- 9:38Speaker 1: be this way. It's been way too much for way
- 9:40Speaker 1: too long. Lori also says the pain is unbearable. Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 1: How about the pain that Tylee felt? Or how about
- 9:48Speaker 1: the pain that JJ felt? Or Tammy? Or Charles? Should
- 9:52Speaker 1: I go on? 9.12 a.m. Hart says that there was
- 9:56Speaker 1: never any indication that Chad was going to get divorced
- 9:59Speaker 1: from Tammy. Chad then texted Lori, you're right. Put me
- 10:02Speaker 1: aside until things change. Yes, the pain is unbearable. Lori says,
- 10:06Speaker 1: are you going to threaten me that I'm unprotected for
- 10:08Speaker 1: doing so? Chad replies, absolutely not. I'm so upset at
- 10:12Speaker 1: the circumstances that I am demanding they protect you more
- 10:15Speaker 1: than ever. 9.14 a.m. Lori then texts Chad, I'm so
- 10:19Speaker 1: alone without you. It's devastating. Chad responds, I feel so
- 10:23Speaker 1: alone too. We are surrounded by telestial relatives that are
- 10:27Speaker 1: simply obstacles. I'm so sick of it. Lori responds, me too.
- 10:31Speaker 1: What is it that you really want? Chad says, I
- 10:34Speaker 1: want to be with you. That is my greatest hope
- 10:36Speaker 1: and dream. I would happily join you tomorrow if it
- 10:39Speaker 1: felt like heaven would not strike us down. And it's
- 10:43Speaker 1: always the religion that this guy uses as an excuse.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Why he can't be with Lori. Why he can't leave
- 10:48Speaker 1: his wife. Why he can't do this. Why he can't
- 10:50Speaker 1: do that. And it's just ridiculous. And literally none of
- 10:54Speaker 1: what he has to say is even halfway believable. 9.15 a.m.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Hart says telestial references the lowest level or degree of
- 11:03Speaker 1: glory of heaven in the LDS church. So telestial relatives
- 11:08Speaker 1: is a reference to people who are in the lowest
- 11:10Speaker 1: level of heaven. 9.17 a.m. Hart says Chad's greatest desire
- 11:15Speaker 1: is to be with Lori. Tammy is still alive at
- 11:18Speaker 1: this point. Hart says it is telling that Chad says
- 11:21Speaker 1: he would immediately join Lori if he could. 9.18 a.m.
- 11:25Speaker 1: The attorneys are taking a sidebar with Judge Boyce while
- 11:28Speaker 1: they discuss the next exhibit as Pryor will begin cross-examination
- 11:32Speaker 1: of Hart. 9.22 a.m. Hearing that Colby Ryan, Lori Vallow's son,
- 11:38Speaker 1: is at the Ada County Courthouse today. 9.24 a.m. Attorneys
- 11:43Speaker 1: are back in the courtroom. Boyce says we are taking
- 11:45Speaker 1: an early mid-morning break. All right, folks. So like usual,
- 11:49Speaker 1: this is where we're going to break as well. And
- 11:51Speaker 1: in the next episode, we're going to pick up where
- 11:54Speaker 1: we left off. All of the information that goes with
- 11:57Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box. What's up, everyone?
- 12:02Speaker 1: And welcome back to the program. In this episode, we're
- 12:05Speaker 1: getting right back to day number eight of the Chad
- 12:08Speaker 1: Daybell trial. and we're going to pick up right where
- 12:11Speaker 1: we left off in the last episode. Once again, this
- 12:15Speaker 1: article is being provided to us by eastidahonews.com, and the
- 12:20Speaker 1: author this time around is Caitlin Hart. 9.56 a.m. Court
- 12:26Speaker 1: is back in session, but the jury is not in
- 12:28Speaker 1: the room while attorneys and Judge Boyce talk about redactions
- 12:32Speaker 1: in an exhibit. 9.57 a.m. Boyce says there's some editorial
- 12:37Speaker 1: content in the exhibit that that can't be published to
- 12:40Speaker 1: the jury. Blake says it should be noted in the
- 12:43Speaker 1: record that the redaction was made to the exhibit. Pryor agrees.
- 12:46Speaker 1: 10 a.m. The jury is being brought in, and Pryor
- 12:51Speaker 1: will begin the cross-examination of retired FBI agent Doug Hart. 10.05 a.m.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Pryor says Hart went over tens of thousands of messages
- 13:01Speaker 1: through his investigation. Hart agrees. Pryor asks if he ever
- 13:05Speaker 1: reviewed messages between Lori and Melanie Gibb. Hart says yes. 10.07 a.m.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Pryor asks if any of the people involved ever used nicknames.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Hart says Lori referred to herself as Lolo, Lily, and
- 13:19Speaker 1: Chad referred to her as Elena, sometimes spelled in previous
- 13:22Speaker 1: news reports as Elena or Elena. 10.08 a.m. Pryor asks
- 13:30Speaker 1: if Hart remembers Melanie Gibb referring to herself as Phoebe.
- 13:34Speaker 1: He says it rings a bell, but he can't remember
- 13:36Speaker 1: for sure. Hart says Alex Cox was often called Al,
- 13:40Speaker 1: Melanie Boudreau was Mel, and Lori often called Chad Bubby. 10.10 a.m.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Pryor admits an exhibit on the projector showing the previous
- 13:49Speaker 1: text messages we saw between Lori and Chad. 10.11 a.m.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Pryor asks how Hart interpreted the text when being questioned
- 13:57Speaker 1: by Blake. Hart says he did not interpret it but
- 14:00Speaker 1: read it directly into the record. 10.12 a.m. Hart says
- 14:06Speaker 1: Lori and Chad's relationship started the first time they met
- 14:09Speaker 1: in October of 2018. Their physical relationship began in November,
- 14:15Speaker 1: because Chad Daybell wrote about it in great detail. They
- 14:18Speaker 1: were kissing, fondling in bed together, taking each other's clothes off.
- 14:23Speaker 1: He's referring to the James and Eleanor story. You mean,
- 14:26Speaker 1: skifuzins do not, right? And I hope you all have
- 14:30Speaker 1: your barf bags ready. Because hearing this sordid-ass, disgusting-ass, so-called
- 14:35Speaker 1: love story is enough to induce all kinds of vomiting. 10.13 a.m.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Pryor asks Hart if he knows Chad Daybell is an
- 14:43Speaker 1: author and was working on a book about his relationship
- 14:47Speaker 1: with Lori Vallow. Hart says he believes it is a
- 14:50Speaker 1: truthful and accurate story. 10.15 a.m. Hart says someone on
- 14:55Speaker 1: the investigative team read Chad's other books, but he personally
- 14:59Speaker 1: did not. He says he understands that Chad has written
- 15:02Speaker 1: about prior experiences in his life. Pryor says Chad wrote
- 15:06Speaker 1: a book about his daughter, Emma. So the people who
- 15:10Speaker 1: had to read Chad's books, I hope they got hazard
- 15:12Speaker 1: pay for that. I'd rather be in the line of
- 15:16Speaker 1: fire than have to read one of Chad Daybell's books. 10.16 a.m.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Pryor asks Hart if it's possible that Chad was providing
- 15:26Speaker 1: artistic embellishments in the book, Blake Moves to Strike. And
- 15:29Speaker 1: Boyce sustains. 10.17 a.m. Pryor discusses the August 11, 2019
- 15:35Speaker 1: text messages between Chad and Lori. Pryor says the text,
- 15:40Speaker 1: I would happily join you tomorrow if it felt like
- 15:43Speaker 1: heaven would not strike us down. Has nothing to do
- 15:46Speaker 1: with murder. Hart says he cannot say it doesn't have
- 15:49Speaker 1: to do with murder. Well, yeah, look, you can't come
- 15:53Speaker 1: out and say, well, he says he's going to murder someone.
- 15:55Speaker 1: That's not what happened. But when you add up all
- 15:58Speaker 1: of the evidence, And the totality of it tells us
- 16:01Speaker 1: the story that it's telling us. How can you think
- 16:05Speaker 1: anything else? And then you add to that the fact
- 16:08Speaker 1: that we've already heard a bunch of strong-ass testimony the
- 16:12Speaker 1: first week of this trial and during Lori Vallow's trial.
- 16:16Speaker 1: So when you add all of that up together, you
- 16:18Speaker 1: don't have to say that you were conspiring to murder
- 16:21Speaker 1: somebody or you're going to murder somebody because the evidence
- 16:25Speaker 1: points us in that direction anyway. 1018 a.m. Hart says
- 16:29Speaker 1: he doesn't know what was in Daybell's mind as to
- 16:32Speaker 1: why Heaven would strike him down if he met with
- 16:34Speaker 1: Lori Vallow at that point. Pryor says throughout the text messages,
- 16:38Speaker 1: he didn't see any that said, hey, this is Chad,
- 16:41Speaker 1: let's kill the kids. Blake objects. Boyce overrules. Hart says
- 16:46Speaker 1: there are several texts that talk in detail about the
- 16:49Speaker 1: deaths of the kids. 10.20am. Hart says there were texts
- 16:53Speaker 1: alluding to and planning for the deaths of the kids.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Pryor asks them to explain. Blake objects. Boyce sustains. Hart
- 17:01Speaker 1: says Chad and Lori refer to a plan to take
- 17:04Speaker 1: the children and Chad Daybell's ability as a supposed visionary
- 17:07Speaker 1: to understand when that might happen. So it was Chad Daybell, remember,
- 17:12Speaker 1: with the visions. Mr. Prophet. And sometimes when you find
- 17:16Speaker 1: somebody as batshit crazy as you, like he did with
- 17:19Speaker 1: Lori Vallow, you have a recipe for disaster. And while
- 17:23Speaker 1: Chad Daybell will try and say that Lori Vallow was
- 17:26Speaker 1: the one leading the party here Seems to me that
- 17:29Speaker 1: they were both playing off of each other's crazy, and
- 17:32Speaker 1: it led to all these deaths. 10.20 a.m. Hart says
- 17:36Speaker 1: that there were texts alluding to and planning for the
- 17:38Speaker 1: deaths of the kids. Pryor asks him to explain. Blake objects.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Boyce sustains. Hart says Chad and Lori refer to a
- 17:46Speaker 1: plan to take the children and Chad Daybell's ability as
- 17:50Speaker 1: a supposed visionary to understand when that might happen. 10.21 a.m.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Pryor asks if he's talking about the text messages where
- 17:58Speaker 1: Chad assigned death percentages to the children. Hart says yes. 10.23 a.m.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Chad is watching the projector screen intently. The live stream
- 18:08Speaker 1: is a little dark due to windows being open, so
- 18:10Speaker 1: it's hard to see his facial expressions. 10.22 a.m. Hart
- 18:15Speaker 1: says he believes the dark number provided justification for Chad
- 18:19Speaker 1: and Lori to kill JJ and Tylee. 10.24 a.m. Prior
- 18:24Speaker 1: asks if there is a reference to light and dark
- 18:26Speaker 1: in the LDS faith. Hart says yes. There was references
- 18:30Speaker 1: to light and dark in the LDS faith. Prior asks
- 18:34Speaker 1: if sometimes testified otherwise, if they would be lying. Hart
- 18:37Speaker 1: says yes. Well, I would think that all religions have
- 18:41Speaker 1: light and dark, evil and good, right? You have the
- 18:45Speaker 1: devil and then you have God. Or some version of that.
- 18:47Speaker 1: 1025 AM. Prior asks Hart to explain how Chad's light
- 18:52Speaker 1: and dark scale works. Hart says the numerical system is
- 18:56Speaker 1: not part of the LDS faith to his knowledge. 10.27 a.m.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Hart agrees that Chad was using his religious beliefs to
- 19:03Speaker 1: manipulate Lori Vallow. Hart says Chad was looked to as
- 19:08Speaker 1: a visionary for the small group that they were part
- 19:11Speaker 1: of and that he used that to keep Lori in
- 19:13Speaker 1: a relationship with him. Hart says the inner circle included Chad, Lori,
- 19:18Speaker 1: and Alex Cox. 10.30 a.m. Hart says the peripheral members
- 19:24Speaker 1: of the group would include six to ten people, including
- 19:27Speaker 1: Melanie Gibb, David Warwick, Zulema Pastanis, and Melanie Boudreau. 10.31 a.m.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Pryor suggests Hart said Laurie wasn't believing everything Chad was
- 19:38Speaker 1: saying about religion. Hart says that's untrue, and he thinks
- 19:41Speaker 1: Laurie believed pretty much everything Chad Daybell said. I think
- 19:46Speaker 1: that that's true. I think that, again, they were both
- 19:48Speaker 1: playing on each other's graves. they both had their own
- 19:52Speaker 1: brand and then when you bring it together well you
- 19:54Speaker 1: have a mega band of crazy people and that's exactly
- 19:58Speaker 1: what we see here and look if you want to
- 20:00Speaker 1: get together with your other crazy friends and talk about
- 20:03Speaker 1: the end of the world talk about visions all the
- 20:05Speaker 1: rest of it great as long as you're not hurting
- 20:08Speaker 1: anybody else 10.32 a.m. Pryor says Chad Daybell wrote a
- 20:12Speaker 1: lot of books about religious issues and Hart agrees that
- 20:15Speaker 1: he often wrote books with an end-of-times theme. And I
- 20:19Speaker 1: can't knock the guy for that. Apocalypse, post-apocalyptic books, all
- 20:24Speaker 1: fun reads, right? But it's a story. It's not real.
- 20:29Speaker 1: But for Chad Daybell and these knuckleheads, they all bought in.
- 20:33Speaker 1: They thought that this stuff was really going to happen
- 20:37Speaker 1: and that Chad Daybell was some kind of prophet. And
- 20:39Speaker 1: that wasn't because Chad Daybell just showed up and they
- 20:42Speaker 1: were like, oh, this dude's the prophet. He manipulated himself
- 20:46Speaker 1: into that position with the nonsense he was talking about.
- 20:49Speaker 1: And it just once again goes to show you that
- 20:51Speaker 1: Chad Daybell was not only somebody who was manipulated, but
- 20:55Speaker 1: he was a manipulator. 10.33 a.m. Hart agrees that Chad
- 20:59Speaker 1: was trying to make a living by selling his books
- 21:02Speaker 1: to an audience of people at encampments or gatherings in
- 21:05Speaker 1: the Intermountain West. such as St. George, Utah, Mesa, Arizona,
- 21:10Speaker 1: and Boise. 10.34 a.m. Pryor asks if Chad's books were
- 21:14Speaker 1: ever marketed towards LDS people. Hart agrees. Pryor asks if
- 21:19Speaker 1: they were members of a cult, and Hart says, not
- 21:21Speaker 1: that he knows of. 10.36 a.m. Pryor asks if Lori
- 21:26Speaker 1: saying she was just a distraction and telling him to
- 21:28Speaker 1: go have fun with your family was sarcastic. Hart says
- 21:32Speaker 1: he thinks she was being serious. Oh, she definitely was.
- 21:36Speaker 1: She was trying to manipulate him. There is no doubt
- 21:39Speaker 1: that Scafusa played those games. But again, that doesn't give
- 21:43Speaker 1: Chad Daybell an out. That's no reason for him to
- 21:47Speaker 1: be involved in any of this BS, conspiring to murder
- 21:50Speaker 1: these kids, killing Tammy Daybell, allegedly. 10.37am. Pryor asks if
- 21:56Speaker 1: it's fair to say Laurie was saying that unless Chad
- 21:58Speaker 1: and Tammy get divorced, he kills Tammy, or Tammy dies,
- 22:02Speaker 1: he won't have her. Hart agrees. And that's certainly what
- 22:05Speaker 1: it seemed like. When you look at that text message,
- 22:08Speaker 1: you look at the chain of messages and you look
- 22:10Speaker 1: at Lori Vallow's conversations with Chad Daybell. She was certainly
- 22:15Speaker 1: trying to ply him. She was certainly trying to maneuver
- 22:18Speaker 1: and manipulate him. But Chad was doing the same exact
- 22:21Speaker 1: thing to Lori, just in a different way. Where Chad
- 22:25Speaker 1: was being led around by his dick, Lori was being
- 22:28Speaker 1: led around spiritually. 1039 a.m. Pryor asked if there were
- 22:32Speaker 1: ever any texts from Chad saying, I agree with you, Lori.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Let's kill the kids. Hart says there were multiple texts
- 22:38Speaker 1: talking about the kids' death percentages. Pryor says Chad had
- 22:42Speaker 1: been talking to public audiences since 2016, saying that Tammy
- 22:46Speaker 1: was going to have a short life. I don't know
- 22:49Speaker 1: if that's a good thing to be telling the jury.
- 22:53Speaker 1: So maybe Chad's been planning this for all these years.
- 22:58Speaker 1: He's sitting around thinking about how Tammy's going to get
- 23:00Speaker 1: clipped at a young age, and he's just trying to
- 23:02Speaker 1: figure out how to put it in motion. And like
- 23:05Speaker 1: I said previously, the only prophecy that dum-dum has ever
- 23:10Speaker 1: had come true is the one prophecy that he had
- 23:12Speaker 1: control over, and that's killing his wife. Allegedly. 10.40 a.m.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Pryor says it wasn't a secret that Chad thought Tammy
- 23:20Speaker 1: was going to die young. Hart agrees. Pryor asks if
- 23:23Speaker 1: he's wrong that Chad was waiting for Tammy to die,
- 23:27Speaker 1: and that was why Lori couldn't be with him yet.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Hart states it could be that, or it could be
- 23:32Speaker 1: waiting to take action. 10.41 a.m. Pryor asks to approach
- 23:36Speaker 1: the bench. The attorneys take a brief sidebar. 10.43 a.m.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Attorneys are back at their table. Chad seems to be
- 23:44Speaker 1: staring very intently at the computer screen. 10.44 a.m. Apparently
- 23:49Speaker 1: there was a thumb drive not opening files. Seems to
- 23:51Speaker 1: be working now. 10.45 a.m. Pryor published more messages to
- 23:57Speaker 1: the projector screen, but they are very hard to read
- 23:59Speaker 1: on the live stream. Phoebe Melanie Gibbs says to Lori...
- 24:03Speaker 1: I am doing pretty good, thanks. I love you so much.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I am going to teach right now. Teaching about discerning
- 24:09Speaker 1: and shutting off dark portals. I could see the darkness
- 24:12Speaker 1: so clearing last night when I was teaching last night.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Their eyes were like dark marbles. Dramatic much? Their eyes
- 24:19Speaker 1: were like dark marbles. Yeah, I'm sure. 10.47 a.m. Hart
- 24:25Speaker 1: says there was only one instance where Lori disputed a
- 24:28Speaker 1: darker light number given to somebody. Hart says the only
- 24:32Speaker 1: times he saw light and dark numbers being generated, with
- 24:35Speaker 1: the exception of that one occasion, were by Chad Daybell. 10.49 a.m.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Pryor says Hart talked about the process of sealing. Hart
- 24:44Speaker 1: says it's part of the James and Elena story. Pryor
- 24:47Speaker 1: says it's part of a marriage process in the LDS church.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Hart says it's when two people go to get married.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Pryor continues saying it's a religious symbolism to show that
- 24:57Speaker 1: they have an intent to wanting to be together for
- 25:00Speaker 1: the rest of their lives. Hart agrees. So I've been
- 25:04Speaker 1: invited to a Mormon wedding before, and I wasn't even
- 25:07Speaker 1: allowed in the temple for the service. I had to, like,
- 25:09Speaker 1: wait outside and shit for the sealing, and it was okay.
- 25:13Speaker 1: It was, you know, normal up until that point. But
- 25:16Speaker 1: it was a little bit weird for me, somebody who
- 25:18Speaker 1: had grown up as a Catholic. But besides that part
- 25:22Speaker 1: of it, everything was just like a normal wedding. 10.51 a.m.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Pryor says he is going to stop there. Blake asks
- 25:29Speaker 1: Hart about the sealing reference. and if he recalls testifying
- 25:32Speaker 1: about it before. He says yes. Blake asks if he
- 25:36Speaker 1: testified that there are also ceilings done for people who
- 25:39Speaker 1: have passed away. Hart says yes. Pryor objects, and it's overruled. 10.54 a.m.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Blake asks if Chad was indicating that he and Lori
- 25:50Speaker 1: would be married eternally. Hart says that is precisely what
- 25:54Speaker 1: was written in Chad's writing. Hart says the light and
- 25:57Speaker 1: dark teachings originated from Chad. 10.56 a.m. Blake brings up
- 26:02Speaker 1: the term telestial relative. Hart agrees that there were obstacles.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Meaning the kids, Tammy, Charles, you know, the whole thing.
- 26:11Speaker 1: According to Lori and Chad, those were the obstacles. Blake
- 26:15Speaker 1: asks if Charles Vallow, Tylee Ryan, J.J. Vallow, and Tammy
- 26:18Speaker 1: Daybell were deemed dark. Hart says yes, but J.J. and
- 26:22Speaker 1: Tammy were deemed to be inhabited by dark entities. He
- 26:26Speaker 1: says all four people are dead. So everybody who is
- 26:29Speaker 1: considered dark Everybody who Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell labels dark, basically,
- 26:36Speaker 1: is either marked for death or they end up being killed.
- 26:40Speaker 1: I know, I know. Just a big coincidence, right? 10.57 a.m.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Hart is released from the stand, but he will be
- 26:47Speaker 1: recalled by the state and the defense at a later date. 10.59 a.m.
- 26:52Speaker 1: The state calls Sidney Woodbury shanked to the stand. She
- 26:55Speaker 1: is a babysitter Lori reportedly hired from Care.com in Arizona.
- 26:59Speaker 1: 11 a.m. Madison County Prosecutor Rob Wood will be questioning Shank.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Shank says she lived in Rexburg in 2019 as she
- 27:09Speaker 1: was attending college at Brigham Young University of Idaho. 11.01 a.m.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Shank says Lori reached out for babysitting and she met
- 27:18Speaker 1: her at Lori's townhouse to meet JJ on September 18, 2019.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Shank says Lori told her he has autism and that
- 27:26Speaker 1: he has difficulty focusing on with behavioral difficulties requiring extra help.
- 27:31Speaker 1: She also mentioned that they had just moved her ex-berg
- 27:34Speaker 1: from Arizona and her husband had passed away from a
- 27:36Speaker 1: heart attack, something JJ was struggling to understand. 11.02 a.m.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Lori never mentioned Tylee's name, but said she had a
- 27:44Speaker 1: daughter living in town to go to college who would
- 27:47Speaker 1: sometimes come home for dinner or to babysit. 11.03 a.m.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Shank watched JJ for three to four hours the next day.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Shank says Lori told her what to feed JJ, some
- 27:59Speaker 1: activities to do, and that if she got home late,
- 28:02Speaker 1: she could give him some medication to help him sleep.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Shank says JJ was playing with the neighbor kids the
- 28:07Speaker 1: majority of the time. She says he was a fun kid.
- 28:10Speaker 1: She fed him dinner before he went to the neighbors,
- 28:13Speaker 1: and she went back to pick him up before Lori
- 28:15Speaker 1: got home. 11.04 a.m. Shank says she messaged Lori after
- 28:21Speaker 1: to work for her again. Lori said JJ went with
- 28:23Speaker 1: his grandparents for a month, and she was in Hawaii
- 28:26Speaker 1: for a month. But after the month had passed, she
- 28:29Speaker 1: could call to reschedule another time to babysit. When she
- 28:32Speaker 1: called and texted, she never got a response. She says
- 28:35Speaker 1: Lori never mentioned Chad Daybell. 11.05 a.m. Pryor is now
- 28:40Speaker 1: cross-examining Shank. Shank says Lori returned home around dinnertime, 5
- 28:45Speaker 1: or 6 at night. Pryor asks if it's possible she
- 28:48Speaker 1: came home after dinner, and she says yes. 11.07 a.m.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Shank says Lori left that day with Alex Cox around
- 28:57Speaker 1: 1 p.m. to pick up a friend from the airport.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Shank does not know the name of the friend but
- 29:02Speaker 1: did see her. Shank says she thinks she was blonde
- 29:05Speaker 1: but doesn't remember for sure. 11.08 a.m. Shank says the
- 29:09Speaker 1: friend came in and didn't have any luggage with her.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Pryor asks if JJ had behavioral changes and Shank says yes.
- 29:17Speaker 1: JJ was freaking out when they came home from the
- 29:19Speaker 1: neighbor's and he threw an ottoman and a chair down
- 29:22Speaker 1: before running upstairs, wanting space. J.J. had thrown a mirror
- 29:26Speaker 1: on the ground and broke it. 11.11 a.m. Shank says
- 29:31Speaker 1: when J.J. was at the neighbor's house, there was a
- 29:33Speaker 1: fight about sharing a toy, and JJ had a hard
- 29:36Speaker 1: time with it. Pryor asks if Lori got home. Lori, Alex,
- 29:40Speaker 1: the friend, and JJ were the only people in the
- 29:42Speaker 1: house at the time. Shank agrees. Shank says Lori was
- 29:49Speaker 1: too comforting to him and didn't try to correct his behavior.
- 29:52Speaker 1: To me, throwing chairs and breaking stuff isn't an appropriate behavior.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Instead of correcting that, she was just emotionally there for
- 29:59Speaker 1: him and being very sweet and kind to him. 11.14 a.m.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Pryor asks if the people at the house ever use
- 30:06Speaker 1: the word zombie to describe J.J. 's behavior, and Shank
- 30:09Speaker 1: says no. Pryor says he's finished with his questioning. The
- 30:13Speaker 1: state has no redirect, and Shank is released from the stand.
- 30:16Speaker 1: She will not be recalled. 11.16 a.m. The state calls Dr.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Josh Wilson to the stand. Wilson was the principal of
- 30:24Speaker 1: the Kennedy Elementary School in Rexburg, where J.J. attended. 11.17 a.m.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Deputy Attorney General Ingrid Beatty is questioning Wilson for the defense.
- 30:35Speaker 1: 1118 a.m. Wilson says J.J. was enrolled in school at
- 30:39Speaker 1: the beginning of September 2019. September 3rd was his first day,
- 30:44Speaker 1: and Lori was there to enroll him. Lori told Wilson
- 30:47Speaker 1: that they had just moved from Arizona after her husband
- 30:50Speaker 1: died of a heart attack, so they were moving to
- 30:52Speaker 1: Rexburg to be closer to family. J.J. was enrolled at
- 30:56Speaker 1: Kennedy Elementary School for three weeks. 1120 a.m. Wilson says
- 31:01Speaker 1: they tried to contact Lori to finish JJ's paperwork, but
- 31:04Speaker 1: she told them they were moving to Louisiana. Wilson told
- 31:08Speaker 1: her to have the new school request for JJ's records,
- 31:11Speaker 1: and they would pass them on. Lori said that they
- 31:13Speaker 1: would be homeschooling JJ. Wilson said they would keep JJ's
- 31:17Speaker 1: records if they ever chose to enroll him in public
- 31:20Speaker 1: school again. 11.21 a.m. Pryor will now cross-examine Wilson. Pryor
- 31:25Speaker 1: asks if Lori and Wilson communicated over the phone, and
- 31:29Speaker 1: Wilson says yes. 11.22 a.m. Wilson says Lori never mentioned
- 31:34Speaker 1: Chad Daybell and he never heard anything about him. Pryor
- 31:37Speaker 1: is done questioning and Wilson is released from the stand.
- 31:40Speaker 1: He will not be recalled. 11.22 a.m. The state is
- 31:45Speaker 1: calling Wynn Hill to the stand. Hill was a dean
- 31:47Speaker 1: of students at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. He is now a
- 31:50Speaker 1: therapist in the counseling center. And for those of you
- 31:53Speaker 1: who followed along with the Lori Vallow trial, a lot
- 31:56Speaker 1: of these names are very familiar to you. A lot
- 31:58Speaker 1: of these people have already provided testimony during the Vallow trial,
- 32:03Speaker 1: and a lot of that testimony is pretty much the
- 32:05Speaker 1: same as we heard the first time around. And that's
- 32:08Speaker 1: because the story is what it is, right? 11.24 a.m.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Hill says police contacted him in February 2020 to do
- 32:17Speaker 1: a records check on Tylee Ryan, Tylee Vallow, or Tylee Cox.
- 32:22Speaker 1: She was not a current student, and they had no
- 32:24Speaker 1: record of any of those names. She had never even
- 32:27Speaker 1: applied to the school. 11.26 a.m. Pryor is questioning Hill.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Hill says he never talked to Lori Vallow, never discussed
- 32:35Speaker 1: an application for Tylee, and never heard a Chad Daybell.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Hill is released from the stand and will not be recalled.
- 32:42Speaker 1: So that's damning, right? She says, oh, I moved to
- 32:45Speaker 1: Rexburg because my kid is going to this school. Well,
- 32:49Speaker 1: we find out that the kid never went to that school.
- 32:52Speaker 1: In fact, never even applied to that school. And these
- 32:55Speaker 1: were all the factors that led to Lori Vallow getting convicted.
- 32:58Speaker 1: And in my opinion, when all's said and done, they're
- 33:00Speaker 1: going to be the factors that lead to Chad Daybell
- 33:02Speaker 1: getting convicted as well. 11.27 a.m. Attorneys ask to approach
- 33:08Speaker 1: the bench. 11.29 a.m. Attorneys are back at their tables.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Boyce says the morning is gone more quickly than they anticipated,
- 33:16Speaker 1: so they are taking lunch now. The lunch break will
- 33:18Speaker 1: be longer than usual, be back at 1 p.m. So
- 33:22Speaker 1: like usual, that's where we're going to take our break
- 33:24Speaker 1: as well. And when we pick back up in the
- 33:27Speaker 1: next episode... We'll finish off our recap of Day 8
- 33:31Speaker 1: at the Chad Daybell Trial. All of the information that
- 33:34Speaker 1: goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
- 33:39Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome back to the program. In
- 33:42Speaker 1: this episode we're getting right back to it and we're
- 33:45Speaker 1: going to pick up where we left off on Day
- 33:47Speaker 1: 8 of the Chad Daybell Trial. This article was published
- 33:52Speaker 1: by EastIdahoNews.com and Caitlin Hart is the author. 1 p.m.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Back after lunch, waiting for court to begin for the
- 34:01Speaker 1: second half of the day. The state is expected to
- 34:04Speaker 1: begin by calling another witness. 1.04 p.m. Attorneys are back
- 34:09Speaker 1: at their tables. The next witness is Colby Ryan, Lori
- 34:12Speaker 1: Vallow's oldest son. 1.06 p.m. The jury has been seated
- 34:18Speaker 1: and Rob Wood is questioning Colby Ryan. 1.07 p.m. Ryan
- 34:22Speaker 1: says his siblings are Cole, Zach, Tylee, JJ, Cole, and
- 34:27Speaker 1: Zach are Colby's stepbrothers by Charles Valo. 109 p.m. Wood
- 34:32Speaker 1: shows a photo of Tylee Ryan on the projector. When
- 34:35Speaker 1: asked who the photo is of, Colby gets choked up
- 34:38Speaker 1: before saying, that's my sister Tylee. Colby says she is
- 34:43Speaker 1: his half-sister on their mom's side. 110 p.m. Wood shows
- 34:47Speaker 1: a photo of JJ Valo. Colby again gets choked up
- 34:51Speaker 1: and says JJ is his adopted brother. Colby says Charles
- 34:55Speaker 1: Vallow is his stepfather and that he was married to
- 34:58Speaker 1: Lori for over 10 years. He was my dad. It
- 35:01Speaker 1: was good. 1.13 p.m. Colby says Lori called him between
- 35:05Speaker 1: 1 and 3 o'clock when Charles died and said he
- 35:09Speaker 1: had a heart attack. Colby said he had no reason
- 35:11Speaker 1: not to believe that was how he passed away. 1.14 p.m.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Kobe says he went to Lori's house in Gilbert, Arizona
- 35:19Speaker 1: around 7.45 p.m., the day Charles Vallow died. Tylee opened
- 35:24Speaker 1: the door and hugged me, and she was crying. I
- 35:26Speaker 1: saw my Uncle Alex sitting on the couch with a
- 35:28Speaker 1: bandage around his head, and I saw my mom in
- 35:31Speaker 1: the backyard. 1.14 p.m. Kobe says he asked Alex what
- 35:37Speaker 1: was on his head, and Alex replied Charles hit him
- 35:39Speaker 1: in the head with a bat, so he shot him
- 35:41Speaker 1: in self-defense. Oh, yeah. Somebody hits you in the head
- 35:44Speaker 1: with a bat, all you need's a little bandage for
- 35:46Speaker 1: your little cut? Sure, buddy. Tell me you've never seen
- 35:49Speaker 1: somebody get hit with a bat without telling me you've
- 35:52Speaker 1: never seen somebody get hit with a bat. 1.15pm. Wood
- 35:56Speaker 1: asked what Lori's demeanor was like. Kobe says she was
- 35:59Speaker 1: calm and unrattled. Kobe says he thought it was crazy
- 36:02Speaker 1: because I was freaking out and she didn't care. When
- 36:06Speaker 1: Kobe asked his mom how Charles actually died, she told
- 36:09Speaker 1: him there was a fight and gave me a very
- 36:12Speaker 1: quick version of the story. She did not say why
- 36:14Speaker 1: she lied to Colby earlier. Well, because she was a liar.
- 36:18Speaker 1: And that's what liars do. They lie. 1.17 p.m. Colby
- 36:22Speaker 1: says he talked to Lori about Charles Vallow's life insurance
- 36:25Speaker 1: policy when he was growing up so he would know
- 36:28Speaker 1: what would happen if either Lori or Charles died. A
- 36:30Speaker 1: few weeks after his death, Lori told Colby she was
- 36:34Speaker 1: not going to receive any of the money. 1.18 p.m.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Colby says Lori told him about herself and Charles Vallow's
- 36:41Speaker 1: finances and that they were running low. Colby said it
- 36:44Speaker 1: was a common theme that they were running out of money. Yeah,
- 36:47Speaker 1: welcome to the rest of the world. But here's the difference.
- 36:50Speaker 1: If you or I start to run out of money, well,
- 36:52Speaker 1: we look for another job, another source of income, another
- 36:55Speaker 1: way to bring in a few bucks. Not Lori Vallow. Instead,
- 36:59Speaker 1: it's all about collecting on insurance policies, taking money from
- 37:03Speaker 1: her children, and every other condemnable activity you could possibly imagine.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Instead of, oh, you know, getting a job like a
- 37:10Speaker 1: normal person. 1.19 p.m. Colby confirms that Joseph Ryan, Tylee's
- 37:15Speaker 1: biological dad, died in the summer of 2018. Tylee received
- 37:20Speaker 1: Social Security because of this and would often send money
- 37:23Speaker 1: to Colby via Venmo after Lori would ask her to. 1.20 p.m.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Would ask Colby if he remembers the last time he
- 37:31Speaker 1: saw Tylee. He says it was August 30, 2019, outside
- 37:35Speaker 1: of a gym in Mesa, Arizona. Lori said she was
- 37:38Speaker 1: taking JJ and Tylee and moving, and Tylee was crying.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Lori said they would be back in a few weeks
- 37:44Speaker 1: to visit, but did not say where they were going,
- 37:47Speaker 1: even after Colby asked. Imagine your mom says to you
- 37:51Speaker 1: a couple of weeks, a month after your stepdad dies,
- 37:54Speaker 1: that she's taking the kids and she's moving and she
- 37:57Speaker 1: won't tell you where she's going. Talk about red flags.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Talk about alarm bells going off. 1.22 p.m. Colby texted
- 38:08Speaker 1: Tylee's phone on September 8th, asking her to send money.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Tylee responded, but Colby didn't remember exactly what she said.
- 38:16Speaker 1: The last text he received from Tylee said, I love you,
- 38:19Speaker 1: and I love the girls. 1.23pm. Wood asked if Colby
- 38:24Speaker 1: ever talked to Lori about Tylee's social security money. Colby
- 38:28Speaker 1: says Lori told him after Charles' death that Tylee's money
- 38:31Speaker 1: was going to be everybody's money. Colby asked how Lori
- 38:35Speaker 1: was going to take care of JJ and Tylee, and
- 38:37Speaker 1: she said she was going to work and use Tylee's
- 38:40Speaker 1: social security money to make it through. Tylee's money is
- 38:43Speaker 1: going to be everybody's money? What does that even mean?
- 38:46Speaker 1: And I wonder if Tylee was even asked about that.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Instead of pilfering this kid's money, they should have been
- 38:52Speaker 1: putting it into some kind of investments or savings account something.
- 38:56Speaker 1: But no, let's just take her money and treat her
- 38:59Speaker 1: like an ATM machine. 1.26pm. Colby says the last time
- 39:03Speaker 1: he saw Tylee was also the last time that he
- 39:05Speaker 1: saw JJ. Wood brings up November 27th, 2019. Colby says
- 39:11Speaker 1: he was contacted by Gilbert police who were looking for
- 39:14Speaker 1: Tylee and JJ. Colby says he told police he didn't
- 39:17Speaker 1: know where they were and described the last time that
- 39:20Speaker 1: he saw them. 1.27 p.m. Colby says he was concerned
- 39:25Speaker 1: about Tylee because their conversations were not normal. He said
- 39:29Speaker 1: her text seemed different than before and she was not
- 39:31Speaker 1: contacting him like she normally would. He assumed she was
- 39:35Speaker 1: upset with him for something but knew she had been
- 39:38Speaker 1: through a lot. 1.28pm. Colby FaceTimed JJ and Tylee after
- 39:44Speaker 1: he saw them in the parking lot and that was
- 39:46Speaker 1: the last time he physically spoke with them. 1.29 p.m.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Colby says he continued to get money from Tylee's Venmo
- 39:53Speaker 1: account and from Lori on Cash App after he saw
- 39:56Speaker 1: her for the last time. He says the money kept
- 39:58Speaker 1: getting denied because it was a new account. Colby says
- 40:02Speaker 1: he didn't ask for the money. It was just sent. Well,
- 40:05Speaker 1: that clears up a little bit there because before it's like,
- 40:09Speaker 1: why is he getting all this money from them? But
- 40:12Speaker 1: it seems here that the money was being just sent
- 40:15Speaker 1: and it wasn't being requested by Colby. 1.30 p.m. Would
- 40:20Speaker 1: ask Colby about talking with Lori about potentially getting married again.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Colby says Lori told him I'll be married again soon.
- 40:27Speaker 1: He disregarded her and thought she might be talking about
- 40:29Speaker 1: getting married in the next life. She never mentioned the
- 40:32Speaker 1: name Chad Daybell to him, but Lori says she had
- 40:36Speaker 1: been becoming spiritual for a long time and was spending
- 40:39Speaker 1: a lot of time with Melanie Gibb. 1.31 p.m. After
- 40:43Speaker 1: talking with police, Colby called Lori and asked where the
- 40:46Speaker 1: kids were. Lori said she would take care of it
- 40:48Speaker 1: but did not tell him where they were. Colby did
- 40:51Speaker 1: not know where Lori was either. 1.32 p.m. Colby tried
- 40:56Speaker 1: to call Lori on Thanksgiving, but she did not respond.
- 40:59Speaker 1: A couple of weeks later, she sent him an email
- 41:01Speaker 1: telling Colby everything was fine and that she had Jesus
- 41:04Speaker 1: on her side. Wood is done questioning and Pryor begins
- 41:07Speaker 1: to cross-examine. Well, I guess Jesus was busy at your trial,
- 41:12Speaker 1: Lori Vallow, because your ass is in prison for the
- 41:15Speaker 1: rest of your life. 1.33 p.m. Pryor asks Colby about
- 41:19Speaker 1: the money he got from Tylee and Lori in 2018
- 41:23Speaker 1: and 2019. Colby says he was getting money because he
- 41:27Speaker 1: needed help and he was asking his mother for assistance.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Pryor asks if Tylee was more of a mother figure
- 41:33Speaker 1: to JJ than Lori was. Colby says Tylee was JJ's
- 41:36Speaker 1: big sister and agrees she loved him. 1.35 p.m. Pryor
- 41:41Speaker 1: asks Colby if Tylee was the kindest of the siblings
- 41:44Speaker 1: to JJ. Colby says sure. 1.36 p.m. Colby says Lori
- 41:49Speaker 1: lied to a lot of people very often. Pryor asks
- 41:52Speaker 1: about Melanie Gibb, and Colby says he didn't speak to her.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Pryor asks if Melanie Gibb and Lori were the best
- 41:57Speaker 1: of friends, and Colby responds, you could say that. 1.37 p.m.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Colby says he was in the middle of his workday
- 42:05Speaker 1: at Anytime Fitness when he found out Charles Vallow had
- 42:08Speaker 1: died of a heart attack. 1.38 p.m. Pryor asks if
- 42:13Speaker 1: Tylee was there when Charles was shot. Colby says he
- 42:16Speaker 1: believes so. Pryor says Laurie received a sizable life insurance
- 42:20Speaker 1: policy from Joseph Ryan after his death. 1.39pm. Pryor insinuates
- 42:26Speaker 1: that Laurie put the financial struggles on Charles Vallow as
- 42:30Speaker 1: she did not work for the majority of their relationship.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Colby agrees. So if you're having money problems, you gotta
- 42:37Speaker 1: get your ass to work. I'm sorry, I know nobody
- 42:39Speaker 1: wants to do it, but them's the breaks. Like Bobby
- 42:42Speaker 1: Bacala says in The Sopranos, what? I don't want to
- 42:45Speaker 1: sit around collecting government checks all day smoking mushrooms. I mean,
- 42:48Speaker 1: sounds like a great time, but guess what? Reality is
- 42:51Speaker 1: here and I got to go to work. 1.40 p.m.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Kobe says he talked with Tylee at least once a
- 42:57Speaker 1: month via text when they did not live in the
- 43:00Speaker 1: same place. Usually when JJ was there, Tylee and Lori
- 43:04Speaker 1: were there too. During the last time he saw Tylee
- 43:07Speaker 1: and JJ in the parking lot, Kobe says he does
- 43:09Speaker 1: not know why Tylee was crying. 1.41 p.m. Pryor is
- 43:14Speaker 1: jumping around from topic to topic very quickly. He is
- 43:17Speaker 1: now asking Colby about a day in late November of
- 43:20Speaker 1: 2019 when he asked her on the phone what was
- 43:23Speaker 1: going on with the missing kids. Pryor asks if Melanie
- 43:26Speaker 1: Gibb was on the phone call, and Colby does not know.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Pryor asks if Lori has a strong personality, and Colby agrees. 1.43 p.m.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Pryor asks if Lori is a wallflower personality. Colby asks
- 43:39Speaker 1: him to explain, and he says Lori likes to avoid confrontation. 1.44 p.m.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Pryor is done with cross-examination. Rob Wood will ask Colby
- 43:48Speaker 1: a few more questions. Wood asks Colby about his mother's
- 43:52Speaker 1: personality and whether she is a wallflower. Pryor objects. Boyce overrules. 1.45 p.m.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Colby says he believes his mom could be influenced. Wood
- 44:03Speaker 1: asked if his mother was influenced by Chad Daybell. Colby
- 44:06Speaker 1: responds yes. Wood has no further questions and Pryor has
- 44:11Speaker 1: no further questions. 1.46 p.m. Pryor says in August 2019,
- 44:17Speaker 1: Colby had never heard of Chad Daybell, and Colby agrees.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Pryor asks if when Lori said she would be married
- 44:24Speaker 1: again soon, if Colby knew she was talking about Chad Daybell.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Colby says he did not. 1.47 p.m. Colby says he
- 44:32Speaker 1: found out his mom was married from a press release
- 44:34Speaker 1: about Tylee and JJ being missing. Pryor is done questioning Colby,
- 44:39Speaker 1: and he's released from the stand. When Boyce asks if
- 44:42Speaker 1: Colby will be recalled, the state asks to approach the bench. 1.48 p.m.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Boyce says Colby could be recalled during the trial. During
- 44:51Speaker 1: Colby's testimony, it looked as if Chad was only watching
- 44:53Speaker 1: prior or would speak the entire time and not looking
- 44:56Speaker 1: at Colby. 1.50 p.m. The next witness is David Warwick.
- 45:01Speaker 1: He's married to Melanie Gibb. Fremont County Deputy Prosecutor Rocky
- 45:05Speaker 1: Wixom is questioning him. 1.52 p.m. Warwick is a general
- 45:10Speaker 1: contractor in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He says Chad Daybell reached
- 45:13Speaker 1: out to him for the first time to do a
- 45:15Speaker 1: book in 2015. 1.54 p.m. Warwick told Chad he would
- 45:21Speaker 1: have to think about it and needed approval for it.
- 45:24Speaker 1: He decided not to do the book with him. Chad
- 45:26Speaker 1: continually reached out to him three or four times over
- 45:29Speaker 1: the year to keep asking him to help with the book.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Warwick says he kept saying no. 1.55 p.m. Warwick says
- 45:36Speaker 1: he first met Chad in 2015 in Rigby, Idaho, at
- 45:40Speaker 1: a meeting to talk about the darkness of this world. 1.56 p.m.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Warwick did not know most of the people at the meeting,
- 45:47Speaker 1: but he remembers Chad, John Miller, Larry Hilton, Tom Harrison,
- 45:51Speaker 1: Bob Walker, and Hector Sosa being there. 1.57 p.m. Chad
- 45:56Speaker 1: asked Warwick to leave the meeting with him to go
- 45:58Speaker 1: to his home, but Warwick didn't want to. He eventually
- 46:02Speaker 1: went with Chad out of respect. 1.59 p.m. Warwick says
- 46:07Speaker 1: they walked around Chad's property with Julie Rowe, a self-proclaimed
- 46:10Speaker 1: energy healer, and they talked about setting tents up and
- 46:13Speaker 1: constructing a building on the property. Warwick says he met
- 46:17Speaker 1: Tammy Daybell in the living room that night. 2.01 p.m.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Warwick saw Chad next in 2017 at a conference in
- 46:26Speaker 1: Brigham City, Utah, where he was asked to speak. Wixom
- 46:29Speaker 1: asked about Chad's demeanor, and Warwick says he has always
- 46:32Speaker 1: been very kind, very meek. 2.02 p.m. The next time
- 46:37Speaker 1: he saw Chad was in August 2019 at Lori Vallow's
- 46:41Speaker 1: house in Arizona. Warwick was with Melanie and was invited
- 46:44Speaker 1: to Lori Vallow's house to meet some of Lori and
- 46:47Speaker 1: Melanie's friends. 2.04 p.m. Warwick says Chad, Lori, Melanie Boudreau,
- 46:52Speaker 1: Alex Cox, Zulima Pastanis, and a woman named Julie were
- 46:56Speaker 1: there for a lunch and talking about the gathering of
- 46:59Speaker 1: the 144,000. Chad and Lori were saying that they were
- 47:03Speaker 1: responsible for gathering them and it was their calling. Imagine
- 47:07Speaker 1: sitting around and this is the general tone of the conversation.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we're part of the 144,000. I'm surprised that
- 47:15Speaker 1: South Park hasn't made an episode about these people yet.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Bunch of crazy ass yahoos. 2.05pm. Wixom asks Warwick what
- 47:24Speaker 1: else they are talking about. Warwick says the group talked
- 47:27Speaker 1: about the special gifts that they were given and their
- 47:29Speaker 1: multiple lives and experiences in those lives. The gifts were
- 47:33Speaker 1: things like the power over the elements in the earth,
- 47:36Speaker 1: and having to be in certain places at certain times
- 47:39Speaker 1: to facilitate whatever God was doing. Warwick says Zulima had
- 47:43Speaker 1: those powers, and Alex was told he was an angel
- 47:45Speaker 1: referenced in the Book of Mormon. 2.08pm Warwick says he
- 47:50Speaker 1: told Chad that the role of gathering the 144,000 would
- 47:54Speaker 1: have to be done by a prophet of God. Warwick
- 47:56Speaker 1: says he did not believe that Chad was a prophet.
- 47:59Speaker 1: He says he disagreed with much of what was said
- 48:02Speaker 1: at the lunch meeting, including talking about Satan having the
- 48:05Speaker 1: power to push people out of their bodies and taking
- 48:08Speaker 1: possession of them, and the person's spirit being stuck in
- 48:11Speaker 1: limbo because their body was still alive. 2.10 p.m. Warwick
- 48:15Speaker 1: says he stayed at Lori's apartment for four days and
- 48:17Speaker 1: explains the layout. Lori, Alex, Chad, JJ, and Melanie were
- 48:22Speaker 1: also present. Warwick says he tried to interact with JJ
- 48:25Speaker 1: a few times when he was sitting on the couch
- 48:27Speaker 1: playing games. 2.12 p.m. Warwick says he has a son
- 48:31Speaker 1: with autism and Down syndrome. He again interacted with JJ
- 48:35Speaker 1: as he was cutting windows and doors into a cardboard
- 48:38Speaker 1: box to make a toy house. Wixom says JJ did
- 48:41Speaker 1: not speak to him. 2.14 p.m. Warwick says Chad never
- 48:46Speaker 1: stayed at Lori's house for very long, maybe 30 minutes
- 48:49Speaker 1: to an hour. 2.17 p.m. At Lori's apartment, Warwick talked
- 48:54Speaker 1: about Chad, about his relationship with Lori, including that they
- 48:57Speaker 1: had been together in past lives. and that they had
- 49:00Speaker 1: a mission to do together. Their mission was to gather
- 49:03Speaker 1: the 144,000. 2.18 p.m. Warwick, says Chad and Lori, told
- 49:08Speaker 1: him that they could see terrestrial buildings on Earth. He
- 49:12Speaker 1: says they told him to come over on a Sunday
- 49:14Speaker 1: to park near a church and that they would show
- 49:16Speaker 1: it to him. Oh, I'm sure that they just showed
- 49:19Speaker 1: him all sorts of of terrestrial buildings. 2.19 p.m. They
- 49:25Speaker 1: walked around the park and Lori and Chad described a
- 49:27Speaker 1: terrestrial building that was there made of stone with arches.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Warwick says he did not see a building there, just
- 49:33Speaker 1: a beautiful park. Warwick says Chad and Lori talked like
- 49:37Speaker 1: they thought the building was actually there. Warwick says they
- 49:40Speaker 1: were trying to get him familiar with what they were doing. Yeah,
- 49:43Speaker 1: they were grooming him. That's what they were doing, trying
- 49:46Speaker 1: to get him involved in their nonsense. Oh, yeah, there's
- 49:49Speaker 1: a building right here in the middle of the park. Well, yeah,
- 49:52Speaker 1: that's the restroom, Chad. That's not a terrestrial building. You
- 49:55Speaker 1: stew nod. 2.23 p.m. Warwick says it bothered him that
- 49:59Speaker 1: he was being affectionate with Lori when he was still
- 50:01Speaker 1: married to Tammy. He confronted him about it and said
- 50:04Speaker 1: Tammy was a good wife and mother, but that he
- 50:07Speaker 1: had a dream that Tammy was going to pass away soon.
- 50:10Speaker 1: He also said that Lori had been his wife in
- 50:12Speaker 1: a previous life and that he had a mission to
- 50:14Speaker 1: do together. Warwick says it made him feel uncomfortable, but
- 50:18Speaker 1: not uncomfortable enough that you didn't go seek a blessing
- 50:21Speaker 1: for him after you had a nightmare? Little weird, no? 2.25 p.m.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Warwick says Chad mentioned an 80-acre property by his home
- 50:31Speaker 1: that he thought Warwick should buy. Warwick followed Alex to
- 50:34Speaker 1: drive by and look at it, and Chad and Ron,
- 50:37Speaker 1: another man he went to church with, showed up. Chad
- 50:40Speaker 1: wanted him to meet Ron to potentially buy the property.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Warwick then left and went back to Lori's apartment. 2.27 p.m.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Chad told Warwick he would have a role in gathering
- 50:51Speaker 1: of the 144,000. Warwick says he knew he was not
- 50:55Speaker 1: in a place to be able to do something like that,
- 50:58Speaker 1: and he knew that information would instead come from a prophet.
- 51:01Speaker 1: We are now taking a mid-afternoon break. Be back in
- 51:04Speaker 1: 10 to 15 minutes. The only problem is, there's no
- 51:07Speaker 1: such thing as prophets, okay? Just snake oil salesmen that
- 51:11Speaker 1: are out here trying to hustle you. The days of
- 51:13Speaker 1: people walking on water, folks, are long over, and Chad
- 51:16Speaker 1: Daybell is as much of a prophet as I am
- 51:19Speaker 1: a rocket scientist. 2.55 p.m. Back in court after our
- 51:24Speaker 1: mid-afternoon break, the jurors are seated and Rocky Wixom will
- 51:28Speaker 1: continue his questioning of David Warwick, Melanie Gibbs' husband. 2.57 p.m.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Wixom asks Warwick about what happened after he looked at
- 51:37Speaker 1: the 80-acre property. When he returned to Lori's apartment, he
- 51:41Speaker 1: said he saw JJ when they got back. The last
- 51:44Speaker 1: time he saw JJ was night around 10 or 10.30 p.m.
- 51:48Speaker 1: when JJ was being held by Alex as he carried
- 51:51Speaker 1: him upstairs to put him to bed. 2.59 p.m. Warwick
- 51:55Speaker 1: says Melanie, Lori, and himself were there to do a
- 51:58Speaker 1: podcast in Lori's kitchen. Chad was not there. 3.01 p.m.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Warwick says they went to bed around 11 or 11.30
- 52:06Speaker 1: that night. At no point did he ever see Tylee
- 52:09Speaker 1: over the four days he was there. 3.03 p.m. The
- 52:14Speaker 1: following day when he woke up, Warwick said Lori was
- 52:17Speaker 1: in the kitchen and she was being a little dramatic.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Warwick told her that they were leaving and and he
- 52:22Speaker 1: wanted to say goodbye to JJ, but Lori said he
- 52:25Speaker 1: was out of control, so Alex had come to get him.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Warwick says Lori was talking fast and acted nervous, saying
- 52:31Speaker 1: JJ was climbing on cabinets. 3.04pm Lori told Warwick that
- 52:37Speaker 1: JJ had pushed a picture of Jesus off the wall.
- 52:40Speaker 1: Warwick didn't believe this because there were no scuffs or
- 52:43Speaker 1: damage to the cabinets. Lori told Warwick that JJ was
- 52:47Speaker 1: having a possession attack and that she couldn't handle it. Yeah, well,
- 52:51Speaker 1: she couldn't handle it, so she had her disgusting-ass, beaver-faced brother,
- 52:55Speaker 1: Alex Cox, kill him. Let's just call it what it is, okay? 3.04 p.m.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Wixom is done with the questioning, and Pryor will now
- 53:04Speaker 1: cross-examine Warwick. 3.05 p.m. Pryor asks Warwick about his marriage
- 53:09Speaker 1: to Melanie Gibb. They were married on December 10, 2020. 3.06 p.m.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Warwick met Gibb at a conference at the University of
- 53:18Speaker 1: Utah between 2012 and 2014. They began dating in August
- 53:23Speaker 1: of 2019. Prior asked Warwick about being uncomfortable seeing Chad
- 53:29Speaker 1: being affectionate with Lori during his marriage to Tammy. He
- 53:33Speaker 1: said that Chad was preaching didn't match up with how
- 53:36Speaker 1: he was acting. Prior asked Warwick about his own previous
- 53:39Speaker 1: marriage while he began dating Gibb. Warwick says the divorce
- 53:43Speaker 1: was being finalized. 3.08pm. Chad is watching Warwick on the stand.
- 53:49Speaker 1: He also seems to be twiddling his fingers. 3.10pm. Pryor
- 53:54Speaker 1: asks Warwick what he knows about a meeting of the
- 53:56Speaker 1: Seven Gatherers. Warwick says he doesn't know anything about it. 3.12pm.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Warwick says he has a lot of knowledge about conversion
- 54:04Speaker 1: to the church and goes to Fireside Chats to talk
- 54:07Speaker 1: about it. 3.12pm. Warwick says the purpose of the Fireside
- 54:11Speaker 1: Chats was to help people seek God, and create a
- 54:14Speaker 1: better relationship with God. Pryor asks Warwick if he has
- 54:18Speaker 1: visions about being invaded by foreign powers, and Warwick says yes.
- 54:23Speaker 1: And remember when I was telling you all these people
- 54:25Speaker 1: were crazy? How much more evidence do you need? 3.13pm,
- 54:30Speaker 1: Warwick says he spoke about the visions at Fireside Chats
- 54:33Speaker 1: when it felt right in his heart. Pryor asks if
- 54:35Speaker 1: it was because of his LDS faith that he feels
- 54:38Speaker 1: he has to talk about the visions. Wixom objects and
- 54:41Speaker 1: asks for a sidebar. The attorneys are now meeting with Boyce.
- 54:46Speaker 1: 321 p.m. Attorneys are back at their tables. Pryor asks
- 54:49Speaker 1: Warwick to talk more about his visions and how they
- 54:52Speaker 1: are only a small part of what he lectures about
- 54:55Speaker 1: at the Fireside Chats. Warwick agrees it's consistent with his
- 54:59Speaker 1: LDS faith. Pryor asks if Chad Daybell had visions, if
- 55:02Speaker 1: it would be consistent with his faith. Warwick says it
- 55:05Speaker 1: would be. Everybody's having visions out here, huh? Can I
- 55:09Speaker 1: get a vision, please? And hopefully my vision has to
- 55:12Speaker 1: do with what the Powerball numbers are. 3.24 p.m. Pryor
- 55:17Speaker 1: asks about vibrations in a religious context and what it means.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Warwick says he needs help understanding what Pryor is after.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Pryor asks if he's ever participated in meetings that deal
- 55:28Speaker 1: with the subject of vibrations. And Warwick says no. Pryor
- 55:32Speaker 1: asks if his wife, Melanie Gibb, has talked about vibrations
- 55:35Speaker 1: at conferences, and Warwick says no. 3.26 p.m. Warwick says
- 55:40Speaker 1: Gibbs' expertise is in belief and overcoming non-belief. Pryor asks
- 55:45Speaker 1: for clarification, and Warwick says her talks are about health
- 55:49Speaker 1: and reflexology and teach about the body. Warwick says he
- 55:53Speaker 1: has never seen what Gibbs speaks about at a conference. Well,
- 55:57Speaker 1: that's interesting. Isn't that your chick? You don't know what
- 55:59Speaker 1: she talks about at conferences? 3.27 p.m. Pryor asks about
- 56:04Speaker 1: the timeline of Warwick and Gibb's relationship. Warwick says he
- 56:07Speaker 1: unofficially met Gibb years before they actually met and began dating. Oh,
- 56:11Speaker 1: I'm sure that you weren't stepping out on your wife
- 56:14Speaker 1: with Melanie Gibb. This whole group of miscreants, this whole
- 56:18Speaker 1: entire group here, are a bunch of absolute morons. 3.28pm.
- 56:23Speaker 1: Pryor asks about preparedness camps that Warwick and Gibb attended.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Warwick says they teach you different ways to be self-reliant
- 56:30Speaker 1: in ways like growing food and conserving energy. 3.29 p.m.
- 56:35Speaker 1: Prior asked what Warwick's predictions, and Warwick corrects him, saying
- 56:39Speaker 1: he was told about things that will happen. He didn't
- 56:41Speaker 1: create them. Oh, I'm sure. I'm sure that God, the
- 56:44Speaker 1: angel Moroni, and everybody else just showed up to give
- 56:47Speaker 1: you a bunch of visions. What makes you so special,
- 56:49Speaker 1: you pretentious fool? 3.30 p.m. Prior asked Warwick about light
- 56:54Speaker 1: and dark, and if they are synonymous with the words
- 56:56Speaker 1: good and evil. Warwick agrees. 3.31 p.m. Prior asked about portals,
- 57:01Speaker 1: and if Gibb taught about them. He says he doesn't know.
- 57:04Speaker 1: He never heard her teach. 3.32 p.m. Boyce will now
- 57:08Speaker 1: be ending court for the day. Warwick will be called
- 57:11Speaker 1: to continue his testimony Tuesday morning, and we'll have more
- 57:14Speaker 1: live updates tomorrow. All right, so there's where things stand, folks,
- 57:18Speaker 1: as of now, after day eight of testimony at the
