- Ben: Morning and welcome to your short-term mental bulletin on the 26th of October. So if you hold a Dutch registration number, you have about six months to finish filing it in. So what's happening in the Netherlands? On Monday, the 19th of October, the King signed a decree commencing the Netherlands implementation of the EU short-term rental data regulation. It was issued in the official Gazette on Friday as number 331. Now Most of it takes effect on the 1st of November. Dutch numbers have been issued since 2021 and they carry less information than the regulation now asks for. The new Article 6D obliges the city executive to give every existing holder the chance to supply what is missing within six months of commencement. On the main commencement date that runs to first of May 2027. So Article 60 itself sets no penalty, but explanatory note says that the holder who does not can have the number suspended or withdrawn at the last resort. From the same Sunday, issued numbers go into a publicly accessible register. Four parts that didn't really wait for this in and they took effect on Saturday and are backdated to the 1st of July. They are the central digital access point and its plumbing. Platforms have been required to send Dutch letting data for months and passing it to the municipalities that enforce was not permitted until the article was enforced. Platforms only transmit where the unit sits in an area whose authority has asked for the data. And that list of areas has to be published. The minister only releases it to a municipality that has adopted the registration requirement. No designation, no transmitting. One thing worth asking, and I think in writing, the minister may release the data for three purposes, and one of them is levying and collecting tourist tax. The data arrived before the permission to read it, and the permission has now been backdated. So find out whether your municipality has a designated area. And if it has, your six month starts on Sunday. Thank you for watching, and I will see you tomorrow.
