- 0:00Well, well, well, it is Friday. Major League Baseball.
- 0:04Congratulations. The Brewers saved baseball. A lot of
- 0:07Major League Baseball owners are way richer than you think. And Tanya,
- 0:10Tanya, Tanya, weekend of football ahead of us and so much to discuss
- 0:14and only what, hour, hour and a half to do it? Oh, it's at least
- 0:18an hour and a half. I mean, come on, let's not pretend we're not going
- 0:20to take the people's 90 minutes. We always take the people's 90 minutes. We are
- 0:24the regulars. I'm Tanya Ray Fox. I'm Cody Decker. Cheers.
- 0:29You're welcome.
- 0:36It's a Friday night and we are without mocha, and sometimes when you're without
- 0:39mocha, you gotta make some adjustments. So there might be a couple of times tonight,
- 0:43Tanya, where I might have to literally get up and sprint off camera.
- 0:47So here's what's gonna happen. Anytime you guys are watching live on YouTube and it
- 0:51looks like this It means I had to go do something. It means
- 0:54you're getting prime time, Tanya. Yes, you are.
- 0:58Actually, the show would look better if it— no, no, no.
- 1:01Yes, that's what I'm talking about.
- 1:04No. Yes. It's like at the crowd when they do
- 1:08the— and this one's fine. This one's fine too. But welcome to the show.
- 1:10A lot to talk about today, Tanya. And quite frankly, I mean,
- 1:14I, I love that it's actually somewhat of a baseball-heavy show today because Lots to
- 1:18discuss in the world. Yeah, I mean, it's not— it's funny because we have this
- 1:21one topic that's baseball, but it's our most in-depth topic, I would
- 1:25say. I would agree. And this is inspired by the reaction people had to both
- 1:29you and I using last night's Brewers win
- 1:32as an opportunity to point out that this is a great leverage for the MLBPA
- 1:36to fight against the salary cap. We'll get into
- 1:39all of it. For anybody who is also being driven mad by the
- 1:44Um, comment warriors who apparently just truly love
- 1:48to buy billionaire propaganda, and you need the arguments.
- 1:51We are going to present them in a full segment with
- 1:55very intense— like, intense graphics. I was not screwing
- 1:59around preparing for today's show. Unfortunately, it's not the
- 2:03best show to have a bunch of graphics when we don't have Mocha, but we
- 2:06can't do this segment without it. So we're gonna give it our best shot.
- 2:08If I have to— if it has to be the one shot while Cody's doing
- 2:11stuff, then Then we'll figure it out. No, no, no, make no mistake, we have
- 2:14the graphics. They're going to look great. This is a flawless show. We don't even
- 2:17need fucking Mocha. Fuck Mocha. He's out there in fucking Hawaii right now living his
- 2:21best life. Last time I heard from him, by the way, was, hey Cody,
- 2:24can you send me my Venmo? Didn't even get a thank you. Well, I don't
- 2:28think he said thank you for being employed by us, but that's okay. Didn't get
- 2:31a thank you. Not even a fucking— he was like, thank you,
- 2:34bye. I, I thought it was rude. That's all I'm saying. So we're left here
- 2:38without our— up to our own devices, and anything can happen. It could be a
- 2:42shit show. Honestly, I, I think we're better employers than the, than the Philadelphia
- 2:46Eagles, I'll tell you that much. Oh, she nailed it, she nailed it! Go ahead,
- 2:49Tanya, headline number 1. Yeah,
- 2:53Tanya, why don't you also go ahead and take it away entirely?
- 2:57Hell yeah. Okay, so, um, everybody likely knows
- 3:01by now that Jalen Hurts is experiencing a medical
- 3:05situation where he has been diagnosed with a blood They
- 3:09originally diagnosed it as a superficial blood clot, but I'm not entirely
- 3:13sure that we can fully say what kind of blood clot
- 3:18it is because we haven't really fully figured out exactly—
- 3:23we haven't fully figured out exactly what happened and how it all went down.
- 3:26Jalen Hurts has been diagnosed with this in his calf, and he's been ruled out
- 3:30of the game against the Carolina Panthers. The most concerning detail
- 3:33is the follow-up ultrasound that said that the clot had moved,
- 3:37and that's what decided to have the— like, that's what sort of prompted
- 3:41the Eagles to take it seriously enough to call him, call him,
- 3:45uh, out for the game. I'm gonna go through the quick
- 3:50sequence of events that got us to this point because people are upset,
- 3:53and I say rightfully so. So, so let's
- 3:57be— let's straight out say we just hope that Jalen Hurts is okay. Absolutely.
- 4:01He's good. That it's a huge deal. And like, I just
- 4:05want him to be safe and taken care of. And that's that. We do have
- 4:09to also talk about the, the issues within
- 4:13the— this is not to undermine what Jalen's going through, but like this,
- 4:17this is something we talked about on last week's show. There are huge issues with
- 4:21this front office and with this organization. And this is another indication.
- 4:25October 4th, he suffers an injury against the Rams. He was cleated in the calf
- 4:29during Philadelphia's game against the Rams. And according to the Eagles, this was the
- 4:32injury that preceded the discovery of the clot. October 8th to 9th,
- 4:36he reports calf discomfort. October 10th to 11th, clot is discovered.
- 4:40He's cleared to play in London. An ultrasound
- 4:43after they arrive in London detected the clot and they said, okay,
- 4:47you're good to go, you can play. Hurts plays the whole game.
- 4:49Follow-up scan changes the outlook. That was done in
- 4:53London. Hurts underwent this ultrasound and then they fly
- 4:58him home, which is an interesting choice for someone with a blood clot. Um,
- 5:01why was he allowed to play with a blood clot? Big questions. Yeah. So the,
- 5:06the big question overall is why was he allowed to play with a blood clot?
- 5:10Have you, as a professional athlete, dealt with or experienced
- 5:15anything in this realm? I'm very lucky I never had to deal with a blood
- 5:18clot. I only played with one guy that did. But it's been interesting seeing how
- 5:21kind of blood clots have been a thing that's really popped up a lot over
- 5:24the last couple of years. You know, we saw it with Wemby and his shoulder.
- 5:27We see it with other players in their leg or their hip or whatever.
- 5:30It's, it's fucking terrifying. But, but to find out, because like, that's like
- 5:34a— it's like pancreatic cancer. It's like this silent killer that'll just get you
- 5:37one day. And what I don't understand about this
- 5:41story is basically the question you're posing right out the gate. Who the fuck let
- 5:45this happen? How did— how are we just like finding out about it now?
- 5:47Especially the finding out that they found out before the last game in London.
- 5:50And as you just said, flying to and back over the goddamn
- 5:54Atlantic How— in what fucking planet does that help? Not advisable
- 5:58with blood clots specifically. Like anything, anything blood.
- 6:02And like, that's a huge deal. Why wasn't the public told?
- 6:06That's what you just asked. That's an interesting question. Before the Jaguars
- 6:10game, they, you know, the— it was communicated
- 6:15between Philadelphia and the NFL that this was happening.
- 6:18The league said that teams must make a public announcement if a player's availability
- 6:22is in question or the condition could affect him. Because the Eagles were certain that
- 6:26Hurts would play, the NFL said they did not need to list him questionable.
- 6:29This creates 2 competing sort of arguments. Yeah, the transparency criticism,
- 6:33which is the public and people betting on the game had no way to know
- 6:37about a medically significant condition that could potentially change. Critics argue
- 6:41the NFL's injury reporting rules should disclose more. We've already
- 6:44heard that before. The other side is that the Eagles and the NFL were—
- 6:49had, you know, he'd been evaluated, cleared by doctors. And they
- 6:52were in communication about the fact that there was no expectation
- 6:55that he wouldn't play. The competitive
- 6:59betting angle is really interesting to me. Very interesting, because do
- 7:03I give a fuck about anybody's bet compared to somebody's
- 7:08health? No, not even a little bit. Not even a little. Do I give a
- 7:10fuck that the NFL is in bed with these sportsbooks and these betting companies?
- 7:14Yes. And then stuff like this happens that's a little bit shady that
- 7:19starts to make you wonder what the fuck's going on. Yes. You and I have
- 7:22repeatedly talked about the fact that these questions are going to come up if you're
- 7:24going to be in bed. So this is where— this is where everything gets really
- 7:27fucking gross to me. So when it comes to this, and we just dealt with
- 7:31this on Tuesday, we were talking about Adam Schefter and how he was reporting about
- 7:34a potential trade that was going on. And all of a sudden, all of our
- 7:37fucking bells and whistles go off at the exact same time about the exact same
- 7:39thing. Oh, he owns a lot of points in a gambling thing. Why didn't he
- 7:43put out the teams that are out there? Is he trying to spark the fucking
- 7:45interest in one particular team? Is he trying to get public money in another thing?
- 7:49And these are very realistic and understandable questions that everybody should ask,
- 7:52especially if you know anything about the gambling sphere. This particular one is
- 7:56not just the gambling sphere, because here, you know, one thing about gambling sphere,
- 7:59like the BetMGMs and the DraftKings and all that, it's pretty— for
- 8:03the most part, please forgive me by grossly overgeneralizing,
- 8:08but it is relatively regulated. So you at least know who's behind the bets,
- 8:11who's behind the money, this and that. The Polymarkets of the world,
- 8:15the Kalshis of the world, the predictive markets of the world, however,
- 8:19is not as easily followed. And it's very, very much like
- 8:22the fucking Wild West when it comes to where money is going and how money
- 8:25is getting there. And we're watching it with wars, we're watching
- 8:29it with fucking gas prices, we're watching people make out like bandits anonymously
- 8:34on all of these markets with shit that we don't know as a public.
- 8:37But insider trading more or less is what's taking place. And this feels
- 8:41like fucking insider trading to me in the gambling sphere.
- 8:44And I'll even go a step further. In the fucking fantasy football sphere, which is
- 8:47not probably as big as the fan— as the gambling sphere. But that's everything
- 8:51that I'm thinking about. This made sense to me going like, well, fuck, I have
- 8:54Jalen Hurts as my quarterback in my fantasy league. I wouldn't have fucking started
- 8:58him if I knew he had a fucking blood clot in the league. And you
- 9:00know what? Neither should the fucking Eagles. Yep.
- 9:05That's what's really scary is that it doesn't matter
- 9:09whose fault it is. Was it the doctor? Was it the someone else,
- 9:13whatever it was, whoever, you know, the doctor clears him
- 9:16to play. There's no, there's no world where
- 9:21this, where this type of medical
- 9:25situation should be taken lightly enough that they would clear
- 9:29him to play. And then right after the game, the blood clot,
- 9:33like if there's a, if there's a chance that the blood clot can move to
- 9:36that degree in a single game, and then he's immediately put
- 9:41on the injury list. They're— sorry,
- 9:44you can't convince me that you couldn't have figured out that he probably shouldn't have
- 9:47been playing in the first place. Yeah, I don't think any professional athlete, no matter
- 9:51what they call a superficial blood clot or not, should be playing with any level
- 9:54of blood clot. That's fucking insane. Insane. This is like even a question to
- 9:58me. Like, I can't believe that— I can't— fuck playing. I can't believe
- 10:01he traveled. I can't believe he took a flight Crossed
- 10:05the fucking ocean, diagnose it before. So he had
- 10:09complained about this injury before they left for London. Then they diagnosed it in
- 10:13London and then they flew him back. Then they flew him back knowing it was
- 10:16fucking worse. Like, Jesus Christ, dude. So I'm concerned.
- 10:19Are the Eagles trying to kill Jalen Hurts is my question, because apparently they didn't
- 10:24do a good enough job turning the public against him. Are they now just trying
- 10:27to kill him? I'm going to be honest. I'm, I'm a
- 10:30little freaked out based on our conversation last show and some of the shit.
- 10:34So Dan Orlovsky, always a real fun treat talking about this stuff,
- 10:39made this whole point essentially of like, oh well, how do we know Roseman always
- 10:41knows when it's time to move on from a quarterback? He's talking about this today.
- 10:46Today he's like, then out
- 10:49the other side of his mouth he says, you know, Jalen Hurts has carried
- 10:54this offense and like gotten like this offense that's doing nothing. He's covered up
- 10:57for a lot of his insufficiencies and deficiencies in the offense.
- 11:00I'm sorry. So you're, you're starting to
- 11:04allude to the fact that maybe he's in the Carson Wentz spot of potentially moving
- 11:07on from him while also saying that he's covered up for all of their insufficiencies
- 11:11because he's so solid that they've gotten away with a lot by having Jalen
- 11:15Hurts there. And, and you and I both know that these
- 11:18media men are used as mouthpieces for these
- 11:22GMs and front offices. And this constant conversation around
- 11:26Jalen Hurts. Now all of a sudden they got Tanner McKee coming in for him.
- 11:30Oh, wow. What if Tanner McKee has a good game? You and I both
- 11:33fucking know that if, if Tanner McKee has a good game,
- 11:36exactly what people are going to be saying on Monday. It's a disaster
- 11:41and it shouldn't be. If, if anybody should have earned their
- 11:45spot there, there are 2 quarterbacks that
- 11:49inarguably have earned the benefit of the doubt to be hurt
- 11:53and miss games without people even so much as blinking. Agreed.
- 11:56Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts. It's not even a question to me.
- 12:00That's, that's the thing about this. I just don't get this. And in this particular
- 12:03situation, it's gross. And it's gross because of the extra things that we just discussed.
- 12:07The idea, like the idea— that's, that's actually— thank you. Thank you for saying that.
- 12:10It's not even that I want to believe that there's nothing behind
- 12:14that. There isn't any of this nefarious gambling shit in the background.
- 12:18I want to believe that. Part of me is a little cynical. I'm not exactly
- 12:22getting there. Yeah, but the fact that I even have the idea
- 12:25and the inkling that it's there just shows you how fucked up the system is
- 12:28in general. And it's just set up to fail in terms of giving anybody the
- 12:32benefit of the doubt. This is not on us. It isn't. You don't— you've not
- 12:35earned shit from us. Not at all. You have not earned— the Eagles organization hasn't
- 12:38earned credibility. They have allowed leaks and bullshit about their head coach and their quarterback
- 12:42for years now. No question. They've done this 4 years now, long before these were
- 12:45their, their coach and quarterback. The doctors haven't earned credibility
- 12:49in the NFL. Are you fucking kidding me? Like, the media who,
- 12:53who then start talking about it haven't earned credibility because we know that they
- 12:57take anonymous shit from these all the time. Bought and paid for. It's so
- 13:00like, we already used Adam Schefter as the example, the most bought and paid for
- 13:03guy that exists. Like, we're not even in conspiracy theory territory. We are literally
- 13:07just looking at the facts that we've broken down in Media Corners for the last
- 13:109 months. So fuck it. Like, I'm, I'm really,
- 13:14really frustrated. I'm frustrated with that team. I think there should
- 13:18be even more scrutiny on that front office ownership and the medical staff than there
- 13:22ever has been before. And I think that, you know, you can
- 13:25scapegoat a doctor all you want, a team doctor all you want, but I have
- 13:28real questions about what that team's intentions are for their quarterback and why they
- 13:32didn't take his health seriously. And we saw this. This is, this is something that
- 13:35the Chargers did to Tyrod Taylor. Oh, God. We there was some weird shit
- 13:39that's happened to Jayden Daniels with his elbow in Washington. It's getting to the point
- 13:43where, oh well, now we can't— we can't discriminate against Black quarterbacks.
- 13:46We can't— we can't like keep them out of the league, right? So half the
- 13:50fucking starting quarterbacks are Black now. How else can we fuck with these dudes?
- 13:54We can't— we can't do race norming anymore. So if they— if they end up
- 13:58with, you know, dementia or something, we actually have to pay them the same amount
- 14:01as we pay the white players. Oh, we were getting away with one of the
- 14:03most racist, one of the most racist policies
- 14:07I have ever read in my life that was still in
- 14:11place until like 2021. So now all
- 14:15of a sudden we've got this rash of fucking quarterbacks with medical
- 14:18malpractice. I, I'm glad
- 14:23you brought up the Tyrod Taylor one because I'll think— I think about that one
- 14:25all the fucking time, puncturing his lung right before he took the field. And that's
- 14:29what gave us Jalen— I mean, gave us fucking Justin Herbert. And by the way,
- 14:337 years later, it was the greatest thing that ever happened to the Chargers.
- 14:36Can't stress that enough. All right, let's get over to headline number 2.
- 14:40Tanya, uh, we had the displeasure of watching Broncos-Seahawks
- 14:45go to overtime last night. Boy, that was, that was 2 teams with a
- 14:49whole lot of quit in them right now. How bad is the Broncos
- 14:52offense? And really happy that Peyton, uh, that, uh, Sean Payton took over the
- 14:56play calling. It's really made a huge fucking difference. It was, you know, on the
- 14:59broadcast they actually highlighted just how difficult the schedule was for the Broncos in that
- 15:03offense for him to take play-calling duties away.
- 15:06Yeah, he was like, they weren't exactly up against easy defenses and easy teams,
- 15:10and they're winning still. Yeah, like somehow.
- 15:12Here's the thing, um, Vance Joseph— for
- 15:16some reason his name is not mentioned ever when we're talking about this team— that
- 15:21defense has been phenomenal for a year since Vance
- 15:25Joseph returned to the Denver Broncos as the defensive coordinator. They've been phenomenal.
- 15:29He is carrying that— him,
- 15:33that defense, and their special teams are carrying that team to wins
- 15:37every single week. That is unquestionable.
- 15:40It's, it's not up for argument. Sean Payton— I
- 15:44want people to remember, Sean Payton is in charge of personnel.
- 15:49He drafted Bo Nix. Not only did he draft Bo Nix, he wanted
- 15:53Bo Nix. He went after Bo Nix. He made sure he was going to get
- 15:56Bo Nix. But he built the offense around them. He's the personnel guy there.
- 16:00That is his offense. That is what the offense he called
- 16:04with his quarterback. And that was his entire— that's his shit that
- 16:08we saw last night. Yes. So it's what we've been seeing all week, all year,
- 16:12and what we saw last year. To some extent, they're just the same as last
- 16:14year, only slightly worse. Winning these close games, fine.
- 16:19I don't— I, I simply
- 16:22don't think that Sean Payton, I think
- 16:26we'd be, we'd be arguing that he shouldn't have a job if it weren't for
- 16:28Vance Joseph. And I'm not exaggerating. You're probably very right, by the way.
- 16:31And those of you that are wondering, are you just saying that because you hate
- 16:36Sean Payton, Cody? No, I do hate Sean Payton, but I'm also saying it
- 16:40because it's true. Yeah. I mean, I've never been quiet about the fact that we've
- 16:44never been quiet about the fact that we hate Sean Payton. Not a fan.
- 16:45But like, you guys can see this offense. This is your offensive genius. This is
- 16:48somebody that you were putting in the same fucking conversation as Andy Reid.
- 17:19By the way, and dealing with other secondary injuries.
- 17:23Um, Bo Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for 107 yards with no touchdowns
- 17:28and no interceptions. Uh, Denver's offense only had 168 total
- 17:31yards, so they weren't rushing the ball either. Um, 30 yards of offense in the
- 17:35second half. This is a fucking problem. And we're going to talk about, uh,
- 17:39we're going to talk about Patrick, uh, uh, Ryan Fitzpatrick's insane
- 17:43intense criticism. Dude, he went in on him more so than I've seen somebody on
- 17:47like on a panel at postgame go in on something. Yeah. So we're going to
- 17:49talk about that later in Media Corner because I, I'm I'm really— I
- 17:53have so many weird thoughts about that. But honestly,
- 17:57the takeaway from the Seahawks is that Sam Darnold's seeing ghosts again.
- 18:00And this happened. The Sam Darnold reverting back to seeing ghosts thing is
- 18:04so wild to me. I— he is— he is just stretches
- 18:08of elite MVP-level quarterback. And then we see this, threw for 278
- 18:13yards but had 2 picks, no passing touchdowns, overtime interception.
- 18:17Did nothing to help them win that game. Like, it was— he wasn't as
- 18:21bad as Bo Nix, but against most quarterbacks, he would have been the worst quarterback.
- 18:24And that's— I don't, I don't know what it is with Darnold.
- 18:27There's obviously a mental element to this. I imagine there's a scheme element to it.
- 18:31There's some sort— there's some version, um, that, you know, I really understand
- 18:35football scheming and, and the X's
- 18:39and O's to an extent, but I imagine somebody with more football knowledge than I
- 18:42could tell me what it is that that defenses can do to make Sam
- 18:46Darnold do this. Well, I got to ask you this because like, here's the thing,
- 18:48he's playing with a first-year OC compared to what he's had in the past.
- 18:51He had Clint Kubiak, who had a system that was clearly working pretty damn well,
- 18:54who's now over the Raiders, who's got a pretty good offensive system there now.
- 18:57And then before that, he was up there with O'Connell in arguably the best offensive
- 19:01system that exists. I, you know, I tend— when
- 19:05I see what Darnold was doing last night, like, yeah, this, this,
- 19:08this offensive system could be a little bit different and could be kind of screwing
- 19:11with him, especially Very similar personnel. When I start seeing this
- 19:16from Sam Darnold, who has a lot of like years and years
- 19:19of us seeing him do this, I'm hesitant to immediately blame the OC in
- 19:23that spot. He may
- 19:27not be being schemed perfectly the way that Clint Kubiak was,
- 19:30but that still doesn't— I still see the same stuff
- 19:34that I've seen with him forever. The like the sort of inability
- 19:39to look downfield. He can't make it to the second or third read, like stuff
- 19:42that he's been doing for a long time. Yeah. Um,
- 19:46any other thoughts about that game other than like we just
- 19:49really didn't need the overtime? It was just a shitty game and then the overtime
- 19:52was just as shitty, with the exception of a pretty long field goal that kicked
- 19:56it for the win. But outside of that, yeah, neither of these teams remotely excite
- 20:00me. And that's what I said about the Super Bowl last year. Like, that's the
- 20:03thing. Great, the Seahawks won, but they're fucking boring. Yeah. And I was hoping that
- 20:07we were going to get a tie so that we could, we could see if
- 20:08someone could top John Harbaugh's, uh, postgame press conference. Did you see that one last
- 20:12week? About the tie? No. Oh my God. He got to the podium and deadass
- 20:16was like, did we win? No. Did we
- 20:21lose? No, we tied.
- 20:25I wish we'd won. I'm glad we didn't lose. Fucking nailed it.
- 20:30Thanks, John. Kidding. I was like, holy shit. Oh my God, this guy, it just—
- 20:33he just talks to hear himself fucking talk. Holy fuck, John. We got to— we
- 20:36got to look ahead to week 6. Got a lot coming up in week 6.
- 20:38A lot coming up in week 6. Let's go rapid fire or how are we
- 20:42doing this? Yeah, yeah. I think we're going to just kind of go through the
- 20:44list. There's a lot of divisional matchups and we'll just kind of, we'll just kind
- 20:47of see. I've highlighted some of the more interesting matchups. We'll start with Panthers
- 20:51at Eagles. This is going to be us getting to see Tanner McKee, who only
- 20:55has played in 2 games thus far in his career, starting for the,
- 20:59for the NFL. Is he? Yeah. Okay. He had an
- 21:03incredible game in one of his starts that he did. I think his last,
- 21:06his first start was in 2024. He had like a great game.
- 21:09I think it was 4, maybe 3 touchdowns. Like,
- 21:13he played really well. I don't— I haven't seen much of him, so I'll be
- 21:17intrigued to see that. Here's the thing, the Panthers defense, very weird defense.
- 21:21I was, I was like, you know, they have— I keep turning
- 21:24to these games and they have these, all these takeaways, but they allow a lot
- 21:27of points, a lot of yards. Am I missing something? No, they do give up
- 21:32a ton of yards and a ton of points, but are also 2nd in the
- 21:34league in takeaways and very good at 4th down stops. So, uh, this is
- 21:38a very variable, very, and should be winnable game for the Panthers.
- 21:43The big thing I'm worried about is their
- 21:48defense. No, I'm not to say, because I just said that
- 21:51they, they can handle— I would assume they can. I'm worried
- 21:55about the post-game conversation about the Eagles. Oh,
- 21:58interesting. You know what I mean? I'm worried about like, does Tanner McKee have a
- 22:02good game? I want him to have a good game. I want everybody to have
- 22:04good games, but I also don't want to fucking hear it. Oh, I think you're
- 22:08going to be fine. I'm not expecting him to have a great game. I'm expecting
- 22:10the Eagles to be in absolute disarray because they are in disarray. The only reason
- 22:14they were even competing is because fucking Jalen Hurts has willed them to do
- 22:18so. Well, maybe Bryce will have a 500-yard game. I'd love that. Maybe. But then
- 22:22again, I also don't want that because I don't want to fucking hear it.
- 22:25Just like you don't want to. Yeah, but Bryce did that. That'd be on the
- 22:27defense. So that's fair. It's not our problem. Fair. Um, Bears at
- 22:31Falcons. So this one appears to hinge entirely on whether or not Caleb Williams plays
- 22:35and how long it takes for him to get back into regular season form.
- 22:39Um, if he's not there, um, and Penix
- 22:42is in his normal shape, obviously, because Penix is definitely playing, the Falcons obviously
- 22:46have the edge on both sides of the ball. Actually, their pass rush is pretty
- 22:49good. Their offense is dynamic. Um, we have no reason to think that it'll fall
- 22:53off unless Penix is playing in some sort of injured state that we're not aware
- 22:56of. Yes. Um, I need Caleb back for this game so badly.
- 23:00Missing Lamar against the Ravens— against the Falcons last week sucked.
- 23:04Missing Caleb against the Falcons 2 weeks in a row?
- 23:08Yeah, where we could have had these banger fucking teams with these awesome quarterbacks.
- 23:11I don't want that. You ain't lying. And here's the thing, I— even if Caleb
- 23:14is back, I don't know what Caleb is going to look like right out the
- 23:16gate being fresh off this injury. But I do know what the— what the fucking
- 23:19Falcons look like with Michael Penix Jr. under center. So, and we also know what
- 23:23the Chicago Bears look like with Tyler Badgent. We do. And it looks like shit.
- 23:26And then, bueno, and we also know what the fucking Falcons look like with
- 23:30Tua Tagovailoa. So, well, we don't have to worry about that. Hopefully Penix can play
- 23:34the whole game. Let's hope. Let's fucking hope. Honestly, for,
- 23:37for Tua's sake as well, do not put that man back out there.
- 23:41Jets at Patriots. Yeah. Hey, Jets have been a little frisky
- 23:45lately. Jets are frisky. The Jets are frisky. Um,
- 23:48New England's 3-2, Jets are 2-3. Jets are a little better
- 23:52than people are really talking about. This could be a closer game than people think
- 23:55if Drake May turns mistake-prone again, which, who are we to say, Cody?
- 23:59I don't fucking know. I don't fucking know. Whomst among us
- 24:04could say how Drake May will look? He can't say, you can't say, no one
- 24:06can say, because some days he looks like a fucking worthless
- 24:10sack of shit, and other days, against the Raiders specifically,
- 24:14He looks like a world-beater quarterback who should be in the mix for the MVP
- 24:18for some fucking reason. Like, we're either gonna get like prime Tom Brady
- 24:22or late-stage Johnny Manziel. Yes. And we have no idea.
- 24:26It's— and there is no in-between, by the way. It's one or the other.
- 24:29No. Yeah, there's no like middle of the road. We're doing okay. Yeah, yeah.
- 24:32Um, but, uh, you know, Geno has played really well.
- 24:36Really well. Nobody talking about it. Divisional games can be really tough
- 24:40with the turnovers and, you know, special teams. Like, those are the types of things
- 24:43that show up in divisional games. Um, we just saw this with
- 24:46the Niners and the Seahawks, right? It was like turnovers and weird special teams plays.
- 24:50That shit happens in divisional games. Um, so keeping an eye on
- 24:53that. Um, what do you got? Nothing, just seeing the
- 24:57comments right now, making sure we don't have anything we need to highlight. Um,
- 24:59it says, don't you all know Drake's shoulder is messed up when he's bad?
- 25:03That is from, uh, oh my God, Juanita. Juanita. Yeah,
- 25:06dude, she's fucking right though. Like That's, that's facts.
- 25:11I miss the probable designation, by the way. Do you know why they got rid
- 25:14of probable? Why is that? Because of Tom Brady. Naturally. Because Tom Brady was probable
- 25:18for like 10 years straight. Oh, how nice is that? How nice
- 25:22is that? They had him on the— like, Belichick was just
- 25:26trolling. Like, he was probable for like a decade and they were like, you know
- 25:30what, we're getting rid of this shit. So Indivision game could get interesting.
- 25:34It's worth watching. But— and it is in Gillette. And it isn't Gillette if
- 25:38they're— but like, at the end of the day, I, I don't get— I don't
- 25:41put anything past the Jets in these divisional games, and I trust Aaron Glenn to
- 25:45bring it. So I'm excited. I'm actually excited for the game. Uh, Ravens at Browns.
- 25:49Not as excited as I would have been, but I still feel very good that
- 25:52Snoop Huntley is going to go ahead and wreck shop. You know what, that's actually
- 25:55exciting me a little bit more. Like, of course I want Lamar back out there.
- 25:58Yes, I'm glad they're not rushing him back. I'm glad that we can trust Tyler
- 26:01Huntley to get the job done. Um, we don't even need to talk about the
- 26:05quarterback on the other team, but the wide— young wide receivers, the rest of that
- 26:08team has been playing really hard. Um, they lost a
- 26:11close game to the Jets last week. If this is going to come down to
- 26:15a battle on the ground and controlling the clock, the Ravens are going
- 26:18to have the clear advantage. Yes, because they have the run game both with Derrick
- 26:21Henry and Tyler Huntley. Um, and the Browns have just been
- 26:25really struggling to run the ball. So, uh, Ravens at
- 26:29Browns, Sneaky could be interesting. I just
- 26:33think you're saying more. That's all. I would have loved to have watched Lamar
- 26:37hang 45 on them. The ever-loving fuck. But what if we could watch Tyler Huntley
- 26:42do it? But if Tyler Huntley does it, what if Snoop hangs 45? Snoop shows
- 26:46up with 45, dude. That's my guy. That'd be great. That's my fucking man right
- 26:49there. How do you feel about Bills at Raiders? Not great, Bob. No, not great,
- 26:53Bob. Okay, listen, it's because what we've been seeing out of, out of Josh
- 26:57Allen these last couple of weeks is, is like, like last week specifically, I'm like,
- 27:00oh shit, there's Josh. It was last— so the first 2, the weeks before were
- 27:04tough, and then we got Josh Allen back again. And now like, I want to
- 27:07hope that the Raiders can get there and do this, but like, we actually talked
- 27:11about it earlier today. They were asking me, well, will you feel good if,
- 27:14if the Raiders are in the game? Like, no, I already got that moral victory
- 27:172 weeks ago against the Kansas City Chiefs. I'm, I'm out on moral victories now.
- 27:21We did that. You sure can't You don't want to see him lose 3 in
- 27:24a row. Yeah, but I think they're gonna. It's just the Raiders got a
- 27:29tough— it's in Las Vegas. It is in Las Vegas. But after this, the Raiders
- 27:31got to face the Rams, so that's probably gonna be 3-4. And then fucking—
- 27:36how dare you? We don't know what the Rams are up to. You could beat
- 27:38the Rams. I don't know, man. Well, we can't. Maybe we can,
- 27:41but I know the Rams can definitely beat themselves. Yes, exactly. Well, there you go.
- 27:45Maybe they'll beat themselves against the Raiders. Um, I do think that— I do think
- 27:49the Raiders can give them more trouble. I hope you're right, because last week they
- 27:53looked like shit. I do. I don't— it's, you know, it's one of those things
- 27:55where it's like, I don't think that the Bills have shown
- 27:59a level of consistency where I'm 100% sold every week that they're going to
- 28:03win their games. And I don't think that the Raiders have been awful enough outside
- 28:07it. Like, yeah, they were bad against the Patriots, cross-country game, but outside that,
- 28:10they've been great. No, I agree. Good against the Chiefs. And then they were like—
- 28:14so like, I haven't seen the kind of like Oh my God,
- 28:17they're— the Marpets' heads are falling off moment. No, I agree. I just feel
- 28:21like right now, right now you're just being a fan. Right now I'm Jeremy Renner
- 28:25in Endgame. Okay, like, you can't— I just killed some
- 28:28Japanese warlord, you're behind me saying there's a way we can get them all back,
- 28:32and I turn around to you, I'm like, don't, don't give me hope. Yeah,
- 28:34yeah, I get it. Just don't give me hope. I've lived with enough hope in
- 28:38this team. They've hurt me a lot. You look like you're gonna cry.
- 28:42I'm not. You're going to cry. I'm fine.
- 28:47Cardinals at Rams is sneaky. Really, really interesting to me because
- 28:52the Cardinals are not an easy team to beat. Everybody acts like the Cardinals
- 28:56are fucking easy. They're not. They're not easy to beat. Make it hard on you.
- 28:59They will put a fucking fight up. By the way, Jacoby Brissett was the— was
- 29:02the best thing on my fantasy team last week. We have a— we have one
- 29:06of those leagues where you can add a, like, an offensive player,
- 29:10like, or whatever. It's like a bonus player, and it's literally anybody
- 29:14you want to put in there that can get you the most points. So usually
- 29:16people will put in quarterbacks if you can. Yeah, Jacoby Brissett beat out everybody else
- 29:20on my fucking team because he was cooking. He was not letting that game go.
- 29:24And this is must-win for the Rams. Oh, no question. This is a divisional game.
- 29:28You need the fucking divisional edge against— if you're ever going to catch up to
- 29:31the 49ers or keep, you know, keep pace with the Seahawks who just lost.
- 29:35Like, they need to win this game. And the matchup
- 29:39is really like, it's interesting because they're going to be without their left tackle
- 29:44and the Rams are going up against Josh Sweat,
- 29:48which is not easy. I'm not— I
- 29:53don't think the Cardinals are going to make this easy on the fuckers. I don't
- 29:56think they're making it easy, but I do think the Rams should win. Now,
- 29:58I do think the point spread is like 12 points,
- 30:00which I think is ridiculous. And I— and it's It's in Los
- 30:04Angeles. So, okay, you're saying it's like really a 9-point spread with the
- 30:093-point home advantage, but Arizona's pass rush like
- 30:12can be consistent. I don't know,
- 30:16man. Like, I'm just— I should— the Rams win. Yeah, the Rams
- 30:19should have won the game last week too. So I
- 30:23don't know. I'm— you want to— I don't know. Game. It's this next one.
- 30:27Sunday Night Football. No fucking idea.
- 30:30Cowboys-Packers. No fucking idea. If you No idea.
- 30:33You are the kind of fucking masochist that would bet on Cowboys-Packers.
- 30:37You're, you're an insane— I need, I need to know. I need to know
- 30:41what kind of crack you use. Yeah, yeah. What do you smoke? What do you
- 30:44drink? Who are you sleeping with? I actually want to know everything about
- 30:48you. Yeah, because you are willing to wager on Cowboys-Packers. You're a go-getter.
- 30:52Yeah, you're a risk-taker. Yeah, yeah. You are a maverick,
- 30:55maybe. You are a fucking maverick, John McCain style. You are fucking Hal
- 30:59Jordan. Um, like truly, I'm calling it the Micah Parsons Bowl
- 31:02even though Micah Parsons doesn't really ever play. Well, he gets to watch it.
- 31:05Genuinely intrigued by the game because both teams have shown that they can be exceptional
- 31:09and can also melt the fuck down. This is in Green Bay.
- 31:12If it were in Dallas, I would expect Dallas to win
- 31:17just because Dallas has— if we're gonna really break it
- 31:20down honestly, they have shown more. But all of a sudden, like last weekend,
- 31:24Jordan Love looked fucking Great. Correct. Out of nowhere.
- 31:27And they're going to be back. They're going to be back with a revived home
- 31:31crowd that feels a little less fucking shitty about everything. Right. And they're going against
- 31:35the Cowboys. This is the Thanksgiving Day game, right? Like, this is an iconic rivalry.
- 31:39So, yeah, anybody, if you are in the
- 31:43chat and you are a bettor, if I don't know how many bettors are right
- 31:47out the gate, Tiger JLV just said, no way
- 31:51in hell I'd bet on that. Yeah, which I agree with. Yes. Also said poor
- 31:54Cody because of my Raiders, uh, yeah, because he was— sadness. Yeah, yeah, she was
- 31:58feeling okay. He just did it again. I didn't do anything. You become like a,
- 32:01like a puppy dog. That is not true. Oh, that's actually a really
- 32:06good trick. It's a good part. Oh my God, it's freaking me out.
- 32:10I can't look at you. Okay. Oh my God. Um, we skipped over—
- 32:14this is— oh, Monday Night Football trap game. I'm calling this the trap. You really
- 32:18think this is a trap game? I think it's a trap game. Yeah, I don't
- 32:20think it is. Because, you know, there's one every— I know, but this is— but,
- 32:24you know, you don't— you don't see a trap game coming, so I'm trying to
- 32:26get ahead. There's no way this one's the trap game. I can't— I can't get
- 32:30on it. There's another one on this list that might be. The Commanders are a
- 32:33trap game team. That's like their only function in the NFC.
- 32:37I swear to God, their only function in the NFC is to just fucking
- 32:41beat random teams a couple times a year that they have no business beating,
- 32:44and then tie a team they can beat. Exactly.
- 32:47So that then we have to listen to Jon Harbaugh tell us
- 32:51what a win is. We lost. We didn't lose. We won. We didn't win.
- 32:54We tied. We tied. And he's glad that they didn't lose. He's sad they didn't
- 32:58win. That might be what we're in for. Who knows? And then he says something
- 33:01like, make America healthy again or something stupid. I just feel like the 49ers are
- 33:05like due for maybe a weird moment. And I looked at their schedule and I'm
- 33:09like, which one of these teams is most likely to be a trap game team?
- 33:11And I'm going with Commanders. That's not me saying that I think that the 49ers
- 33:15are like shouldn't be favored in the game. Of course they should be. Yes,
- 33:17they should. But, you know, You know, things happen, injuries, they're dealing with a lot
- 33:21of stuff. Um, Dre Greenlaw is suspended, all those things. Juanita is really
- 33:25feeling herself right now. Since my Brewers won, I'm feeling frisky
- 33:29and will bet the Packers to win.
- 33:33Congratulations on your Brewers. Okay, well, if you're a Brewers fan and
- 33:37you're feeling like a little bit of the vibe in the air, I'm not gonna
- 33:40judge you. I mean, I still think you're crazy and I still kind of do
- 33:43want to know where the balls come from. But I do understand feeling
- 33:47very high on your own supply after a team like— they have not been to
- 33:51a World Series since 1982. Since 1982. In fact, that's the only World Series they've
- 33:55ever been. This is the first time they've gone to the World Series winning the
- 33:57pennant in the National League. And yeah, man, it's fucking nuts.
- 34:01I'm looking forward to talking about it because, well, you know what? It's headline number
- 34:043, so we might as well just get into it. Well, let's get into it
- 34:07in a second because I think there's another trap game on here that's worth mentioning.
- 34:09No. What if— no, just shut up.
- 34:12Just let's, let's just do me a favor. Let's Rod Serling this. Let's go straight
- 34:16Twilight Zone. Like, imagine if you will a world where Justin Herbert
- 34:21with no offensive line and a very disarrayed offense comes
- 34:24into Arrowhead and puts up 45 points.
- 34:29I will not imagine interceptions. I'm not doing this. No fumbles.
- 34:34Imagine if you will. No interceptions. Join me.
- 34:37Fumbles into the dimension of the Twilight Zone.
- 34:41Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo. Yeah, it ain't happening. They're going to lose
- 34:44by fucking 20. I do not think Chargers at
- 34:47Chiefs is a trap game. I don't think— I'm just trying to give somebody the
- 34:51benefit of the doubt. Couldn't give a single fuck less about Steelers at Bucs.
- 34:54Couldn't care less. Couldn't give a fuck less about Texans at Jags, to be quite
- 34:58honest. Yeah, fuck them both. I don't really care. I like the
- 35:02Texans and I like the Jaguars well enough. I just like—
- 35:06unless the Texans win that game, I'm disinterested, right? So pretty much. So I just
- 35:09don't— pretty much because I like— I just don't care about the Titans at Colts.
- 35:12Might be the worst game of the year. So that's tough. No, that's a tough
- 35:15one. Yeah. So, um, unless you have any other thoughts there, let's do
- 35:19it. Headline number 3, let's get to it, because Major League Baseball— congratulations
- 35:23Brewers, you have saved Major League Baseball
- 35:27from the dreaded Dodgers who are desperately trying to ruin it, from all of— yeah,
- 35:31all of the evil doing they're doing. Dude, what can I say? Um,
- 35:35I mean this from the bottom of my heart, the Brewers were just flat out
- 35:38the better team. And, and I mean this not as hyperbole, not as like
- 35:42an after— they beat the Dodgers in every single
- 35:47fucking facet. We will be perfect in every
- 35:51facet of the game. They fucking were. And I gave this example on Twitter yesterday,
- 35:54and I feel really good about it. They're like Seabiscuit. And the reason why I
- 35:58say that is because they were behind in every single fucking game. It's like the
- 36:00team feels better being behind. By the way, this is very familiar to me because
- 36:03This is how the Arizona Diamondbacks made the World Series. Very, very similar.
- 36:07Very similar. And this— I honestly think it's better. The Brewers are better.
- 36:10Yeah. Um, and so, and I, uh, I think you said you put
- 36:14out, and I agree with you, that the, you know, Jake Bowers,
- 36:18dude, absolute fucking— what Jake Bowers accomplished. And also the story
- 36:22of Jake Bowers. You know about the story? I do. I know. I don't
- 36:26know. Like, this is the best thing. So Jake Bowers, 2 years ago, tells his
- 36:30wife and tells his agent, I'm quitting, I'm leaving baseball, uh, his wife
- 36:33during the offseason gets pregnant and he no longer has
- 36:37health insurance. Oh, this— yeah, so I did know this. He basically goes and signs
- 36:41a minor league job and yeah, works his way back for health
- 36:45insurance so his wife can have a, a good birth for their child.
- 36:48And then he fucking gets back to the big leagues and now he's the fucking
- 36:51NLCS MVP, deservedly so by the way, because his
- 36:55at-bats, like what he did I love
- 36:59those. I, I was so impressed with that before the home run that I texted
- 37:03you. I was like, that was dirty, dude. Like, nasty. Anybody who can just really
- 37:07grind— like, I grew up a Dustin Pedroia fan, right? Like, I— like, anybody who
- 37:11can just take someone for 9, 10, 11, 12 pitches and just grind them out
- 37:16just to fuck it— oh God, it was so good. And then, and like,
- 37:19every one of his walks that he grinded out, like, he, he wasted pitches for—
- 37:24on Yamamoto. Wasted pitches on Snell that led to a fucking huge home
- 37:27run. That was a pimp job. That was like such a badass pimp job because
- 37:30it was like not even his pimp job. He didn't make that moment about him.
- 37:33He took to his dugout, fucking flipped to his dugout.
- 37:37It was like a team bat flip. It was hot. I've never fucking seen that
- 37:41ever. Yeah. And I was just like, this team's winning the fucking World Series.
- 37:43And you could fucking feel it. Like, yeah, feel it at that at-bat. Like,
- 37:46Snell was losing it, and I was like, oh my God, dude, it was just—
- 37:49it killer. And sometimes you just get fucking beaten. The Dodgers got beaten in everything.
- 37:53The starting pitching was better for the Brewers. Offense was better for the
- 37:57Brewers. Power was better for the Brewers. The bullpen was better for the fucking Brewers.
- 38:01They were just fucking better at everything in this series,
- 38:04top to bottom, everything. And it was fun to watch, by the way. I'm looking
- 38:07forward to this World Series. Yeah, I know a lot of people— you guys,
- 38:10you can carry this message on. Please do.
- 38:13This is going to be the lowest we're in a World Series compared to last
- 38:17year. Yes, I'll agree. Watch. Tell people if they like baseball
- 38:21to watch the World Series. Watch fucking baseball. Just because you aren't
- 38:25New York or Los Angeles or, you know, Texas or
- 38:29Chicago or whatever, like, guys, this is fun baseball. So fun.
- 38:33So the ratings are dictated by fans. Tell your friends
- 38:37to watch the World Series. It's going to be really fun whether they play the
- 38:40Rays or the Guardians. It's gonna be a great fucking series. Um, we gotta talk
- 38:43about the conversation that happened after Milwaukee swept
- 38:47the Dodgers. Handedly, by the way. The Dodgers. Not beat them.
- 38:52Swept them out of the NLCS. Beat the ever-loving fuck out
- 38:56of them. The unbeatable Goliath of the Dodgers. Okay.
- 38:59Yes. Despite a looming World Series that will feature 2
- 39:03small market teams, billionaire propaganda pawns continue to argue that
- 39:07not enough small market teams have the chance to legitimately compete.
- 39:11Compete. So once again, let's break down and debunk the most
- 39:15common rhetoric from the this is an outlier situation
- 39:19crowd, because you and I both talked about this. We've talked about it several times
- 39:23together and separately. Every time this comes
- 39:26up, it's like, so, you know, last night the whole conversation
- 39:30was, oh, okay, so, oh, finally somebody makes
- 39:34it for like the third time in 15 years. It's not a top 10 payroll.
- 39:38All right. All right. So we're going to just, we're going to break it down
- 39:41segment by segment. We are going to lay it out for you start
- 39:45to finish on why the idea
- 39:50that this league needs a salary cap to be competitive, interesting,
- 39:53to create revenue, to create viewership is fucking bullshit.
- 39:58And it's billionaire propaganda. And you are a mark.
- 40:01It is bullshit.
- 40:04Okay. Number 1. Number 1. Number 1 we're going to address is a small
- 40:08market team making the World Series an anomaly.
- 40:12Let's take a look at World Series teams outside
- 40:16the top 10 in payroll over the last 20 years,
- 40:21up until 2025. Let's take a look, shall we?
- 40:24So this is teams that reached
- 40:29the World Series ranking 11th or lower in MLB
- 40:33payroll since 2006.
- 40:37Interesting, guys. Interesting. So we've got 15 total
- 40:42appearances in 20 years by teams outside
- 40:45top 10 in payroll. We've got 6 championships and like, what are we fucking
- 40:49talking about? Right? Okay. Okay.
- 40:53So, so that one is immediately debunked. And by the way, one of them was
- 40:56like, like literally 4 years ago that the The Diamondbacks
- 41:00were in in 2023. The Braves won in 2020. Like, what are we doing?
- 41:02And by the way, 2006, let's get to the very top of that with the
- 41:05St. Louis Cardinals. Yeah, 2006. Like, you have to understand, at that time, the pay
- 41:09discrepancy was actually so ridiculous because the Yankees had such a high
- 41:13payroll. The closest to the Yankees was like roughly 40% of
- 41:18what— yeah, it was like, it was like the Red Sox. It was the Red
- 41:20Sox. They weren't even spending close. Like, I remember those years so distinctly because
- 41:24the Red Sox were like like always still competitive
- 41:28in payroll and couldn't fucking win. By the way,
- 41:30before they won their first World Series, the Yankees were way
- 41:34ahead of everybody. Way— they were ahead of everybody in a way the Dodgers haven't
- 41:39been. Yeah, Dodgers aren't even close because like, yeah, the Dodgers have the highest payroll.
- 41:41And if you really add in the collective bargaining— not the collective bargaining, the,
- 41:44uh, this luxury tax tax on top of it— it's like fucking
- 41:47astronomical. Because really what they're, they're paying this year is like
- 41:51$350 million, but they have to pay another $100 and like $30 million because of
- 41:55the tax, but they don't give a fuck. They're making billions every year,
- 41:58which we'll get to. So we
- 42:01have established that in that 15 out
- 42:06of 20 of the last 20 World Series feature— and now it's going to be,
- 42:09by the way, 16 of the last 21, right?
- 42:12Have to have payrolls outside
- 42:17the top 10. Okay. Yep. Great. Is number
- 42:212 of the questions that we are going to address, is it true that certain
- 42:24teams cannot afford to compete? This is a big one.
- 42:28I cannot stress this enough. No, but that is the narrative
- 42:31that very much so because the Dodgers have so much unlimited money. And I
- 42:35will tell you, the Dodgers do have some, some balances
- 42:39in their, in their books that do benefit them a little bit. But it's
- 42:44also a tad disingenuous for how much money actually the Dodgers are actually paying every
- 42:48other team. Team because the Dodgers are paying more money to certain teams than their
- 42:51actual payrolls are. That's a problem. Yeah. And these other teams
- 42:55are benefiting, benefiting from the Dodgers in that way. They're welfare queens.
- 42:58They're welfare— they're the actual welfare queens of America. Yep.
- 43:02Yeah. We don't actually have welfare queens, but they are trying
- 43:05to create it. Yeah, but billionaires are our biggest welfare queens.
- 43:09100%. 100%. So we've,
- 43:13we've really harped on this. The entire time we've had this
- 43:17show, which is that nobody who owns a professional baseball
- 43:21team, a Major League Baseball team,
- 43:24can't afford to compete. And if they are genuinely
- 43:28in a situation where their only investment is the—
- 43:32is their MLB team and they can't afford to compete, they should sell
- 43:36their team 100%. It's one or the other, guys. Like, it's so fucking weird
- 43:40that these capitalists that made billions of dollars get into this system
- 43:45and they decide— they determine and discern that, wait a second, this is not an
- 43:49organization or corporate entity like what I've worked in my whole
- 43:53life. This is its own thing that clearly is a socialist
- 43:59platform for billionaires. So I shouldn't have to actually treat
- 44:03it as something I should reinvest in. It should just pay me out like
- 44:06an ATM, which is what a lot of these fucking teams do. And they,
- 44:10and they basically tell us that. So I want to do a
- 44:14quick little exercise. Yes. And I want to take a look at the top 10
- 44:17richest owners in baseball currently. Let's— okay,
- 44:22here we go. So Steve Cohen for the Mets.
- 44:25Don't know if you've noticed, the Mets are not good. They're not good at all.
- 44:30We got Rogers Communications for the Blue Jays. Yep. Worth about $18 to
- 44:34$19 billion. These are all estimated. It's very hard to find these, but these numbers
- 44:37are pretty consistent. We got Mark Walter
- 44:40there for the Los Angeles Dodgers. We got the Lerners who own the
- 44:44Nationals. John Henry, the Red Sox. Charles Johnson, who owns
- 44:48the Giants. Artie Marino. Well, the Angels, by the
- 44:52way, the Angels are now at the top of this list because they just got—
- 44:55yeah. David Rubenstein, Baltimore Orioles.
- 44:59Paul Dolan, who owns the Guardians, and John Middleton, who owns
- 45:03the Phillies. I want to draw your attention
- 45:07to, let's say, specifically a team I'm really familiar with,
- 45:10which is the Boston Red Sox. Let's do that. Now,
- 45:13the Boston Red Sox have not
- 45:17been back to a World Series since 2018. Correct. They can
- 45:21spend as much money as they— as any of these teams on the list.
- 45:24No question. They can outspend everyone that's on this list right
- 45:28now. They haven't been. And while they haven't been, John Henry has been investing in
- 45:33Roush Racing, in Liverpool,
- 45:37in all kinds of stuff. Every single one
- 45:40of these owners, all the way down to the bottom of
- 45:44these owners, have investments. They buy other teams. They use
- 45:48the capital that they earn by buying a team to leverage,
- 45:52to then invest in other things that aren't their team, and then turn
- 45:55around and tell you they can't afford to invest in their team.
- 46:00Do you guys understand that? Do you understand that they are leveraging the
- 46:03wealth that they accumulate from your team and the capital
- 46:07they accumulate by leveraging the team as
- 46:10essentially collateral in their financial decisions to then go
- 46:15invest in other things for themselves? None of these owners,
- 46:18none of them anymore own just one. Like they're just the team owner.
- 46:22And the ones that do actually usually spend decent money on their team.
- 46:27But you look through that list and who are— I'm sorry, where are
- 46:31all these fucking— where are all of the titles that are being hogged by
- 46:35the Mets and the Blue Jays? So the Nationals, okay, great.
- 46:39They won in 2019. Great. Red Sox,
- 46:422018. Giants, when was their last
- 46:45one? 2015. 2015. Sorry, '14.
- 46:48Angels, Lord knows, 2002. Orioles,
- 46:52the '80s. Guardians, 1947.
- 46:56Phillies, 2008. Okay. Oh, and by the
- 47:00way, I'm glad you brought up the Guardians. I want to point that out.
- 47:02Guardians right there, who are currently in the ALCS, currently fighting for a World
- 47:05Series spot. 9th richest owner in all of baseball,
- 47:092nd lowest payroll in all of baseball.
- 47:13Their payroll is $86 to $93
- 47:17million. Their payroll is $86 to $93 million.
- 47:21Their owner is worth $4.4 billion.
- 47:26Their payroll is $93 million. They are 2
- 47:30wins away from the World Series.
- 47:33And so when you say that some of these teams can't
- 47:37afford to compete with Steve Cohen
- 47:41and Mark Walter and the Rodgers family,
- 47:45I'm wondering what the fuck you're talking about. No idea
- 47:49what these— The Rodgers Corporation is like Verizon and AT&T combined.
- 47:54Them paying the $500 million contract over to Vladimir Guerrero is
- 47:57not even a goddamn drop in the ocean to them. I, I don't know what
- 48:01to say other than all of these teams can do it. Every one
- 48:05of them can financially compete. Some of them are doing it, are competing
- 48:09without fucking spending a dime. Like, you have no idea. I can only
- 48:13imagine how much money the Cleveland Guardians are just making hand over fist. They spend
- 48:17nothing on their payroll. In fact, their payroll is entirely subsidized by the Dodgers and
- 48:21the goddamn Yankees. Like, that's just the truth. The Dodgers, Mets, and Yankees
- 48:25pay for that payroll that's about to go to the fucking World Series. They do
- 48:28do a great job with their developmental, their scouting, their all of
- 48:32that phenomenal, but they won't spend money on fucking players. I, I would—
- 48:36I, I would have hung myself years ago if I was a Cleveland Guardians fan.
- 48:39I don't know how they deal with this. And the, and the crazy part is
- 48:43the dude who runs the team and owns it, Paul Dolan, son of the guy
- 48:47who bought it. He's a nepo baby. He inherited
- 48:51the team from his father who bought it through a family trust, by the way.
- 48:55Like, what are you— what are you saving? You inherited this
- 48:59shit. None of it's yours. Like, oh my God, it's the fucking worst. And by
- 49:03the way, they are apparently going to have a new majority owner in the next
- 49:062 years. And from what I've been told, The majority owner who is already in
- 49:10the ownership group hates this, wants to spend money. And supposedly
- 49:15what I've been relayed is he's going to. Okay. That's what I've
- 49:19been relayed. Well, Guardians, to your point, Guardians fans deserve that. All right.
- 49:23Let's move on to our number 3 bullet point. Is the MLB,
- 49:26after all of this, less competitive or does it feature less parity than
- 49:31the salary cap leagues? Parity conversation. Everybody says,
- 49:35oh, Oh, but there's not enough parity. Look at how
- 49:38the Dodgers can just run it up. We need parity, baby.
- 49:42So I figured, why not look into that for the people?
- 49:46And we got fucking receipts. Let's check it out. All right,
- 49:50championship parity across the 4 major men's sports, last 20 championships.
- 49:55Major League Baseball has had 12 different championships,
- 49:59which is the same as the NBA. The NFL has had 13
- 50:03different championship teams and the NHL has had 14.
- 50:08You can see there that the parity ranking has,
- 50:12you know, the MLB right there with every other team.
- 50:16The only difference that throws people for a loop is
- 50:20that while the NBA has a team that's won 4 titles in this stretch,
- 50:24the MLB has 3 teams that have won 3 titles. The,
- 50:28the NFL has 2 teams that have won 3 titles,
- 50:32and the NHL has 2 teams, uh, 3 teams that have won
- 50:363 titles in that span as well. So people
- 50:40look at the Red Sox, Giants, Dodgers, each have 3 rings
- 50:43each in that span. Basically everyone outside of them has been a,
- 50:46has been a new champion, and we're about to have another new
- 50:51champion this year, 2 of which have never fucking won a World Series,
- 50:54and one hasn't won one since 1947. And so here's the
- 50:58thing, even, even in baseball, a lot of these,
- 51:02these titles are spaced out like a straight up— we
- 51:06haven't really had a straight up run the table type dynasty in a minute.
- 51:09The Red Sox won in '07, '13, and '18.
- 51:13So we've got 4 or 5 year stretches in between. We've got a couple of
- 51:16year stretches between the Dodgers first and the second. They had back to back,
- 51:19but like, you know, and same thing with the Giants. They had that space.
- 51:22They won every other year for 5 fucking years. So meanwhile,
- 51:28in the hard salary cap-ass NFL,
- 51:33we went third. I'm sorry, there was a— what was it, a 15-year
- 51:37stretch where in the AFC, the quarterback
- 51:41in the AFC Championship Game was either Tom Brady,
- 51:45Peyton Manning, or Ben Roethlisberger for like 15 years?
- 51:49Yes. Okay, but baseball's got the parity issue. But baseball's got a parity issue.
- 51:53By the way, same amount of teams with 3 titles each in
- 51:58this stretch in the NHL.
- 52:01NHL: Blackhawks 3, Penguins 3. Oh, I'm sorry, it's, it's 2 each. Sorry,
- 52:05Blackhawks and Penguins both have 3 in that stretch.
- 52:08Warriors full-on fucking dynasty. I,
- 52:11I'm tired. Like, this is fucking exhausting. There's nothing— there is
- 52:15no— it's literally right in front of you. This salary— the salary cap has
- 52:19not created more more parity for the NFL, the NBA, or the NHL
- 52:22in any way, shape, or form. They just fucking haven't. It just hasn't.
- 52:27We, we saw earlier in this, in the, uh,
- 52:31show, with 15 of the 20 last seasons
- 52:35featuring a team with an outside top 10 payroll. It's— you're
- 52:39making this up. You guys are making
- 52:42this up. They sure are. I— every once in a while there
- 52:46are going to be teams that get studs on their team and they stay good
- 52:49for a while. It happens in every fucking sport. Why are you acting
- 52:54like the Dodgers are something new? By the way, it's not new. I just dealt
- 52:57with like some callers today and all this fucking panic around the Dodgers. Well,
- 53:00the Dodgers are too old now so they can't do it. Like,
- 53:03it's so weird how you guys can't have it both ways. It's like they're either
- 53:07too old and they can't compete anymore, or they're ruining baseball because they can't
- 53:11be beaten, period, stop. Like, now, now if I'm everybody, I'm worried about the
- 53:15Brewers because the Brewers are fucking young and this core is going to be together
- 53:17for like the next 3 years. That's gonna be a really fucking good team.
- 53:19Like, it's just all fucking nonsense, guys. It fucking— the
- 53:24fact that any owner is able to play on your fucking emotions
- 53:28that the players are greedy, or now the big bad— and by the way,
- 53:31congratulations, I'm really thrilled about this, that this happened exactly this way,
- 53:35because now your owners can't sit around blaming the Dodgers for all your fucking worries.
- 53:38Now you just can't. You're incapable of doing it because now look at
- 53:43what the World Series is going to be. And yeah, Major League Baseball, this is
- 53:46honestly for Major League Baseball itself worst case scenario because they're losing
- 53:50two— they're killing two birds with one fucking stone. They're losing their massive argument
- 53:54that the Dodgers are insurmountable and cannot be beaten, and they're about to get a
- 53:58fucking low-ass rated World Series. It's literally punch
- 54:02after punch, and you brought it upon yourself, you bitches.
- 54:05Yeah, you know what, maybe if those teams invested in spending I
- 54:10mean, the reality is you guys can't have your cake and eat it too.
- 54:13Milwaukee is the smallest media market in baseball.
- 54:17But like, the— that's— looked it up, made sure
- 54:20I knew— the smallest media market in baseball.
- 54:23Very much so. Okay, very smallest. That's gonna happen. Do you
- 54:27just not— do you just not want small—
- 54:31like, what— which one do you want? That's the thing, they don't know what they
- 54:34want. It's all bullshit because they're like, we like parity, and then we give you
- 54:37fucking parity and you don't fucking watching you bitch about it, and then you don't
- 54:40watch the games. So like, so you know what's funny? Like,
- 54:43uh, the guy that runs Marvel, um, television said
- 54:48something the other day, and it's one of the few times that an exec says
- 54:50something that's kind of callous, but he's absolutely fucking right. That I even had
- 54:54to be like, he's not wrong. Fuck, he's not wrong. Because when
- 54:57Daredevil was at, uh, Marvel— I'm sorry, at Netflix—
- 55:01everyone really wanted to bring Charlie Cox's Daredevil over, and there was talk about it,
- 55:04and then Then we finally got him. We, we found out that Daredevil: Born Again
- 55:07is gonna happen. And then he has his cameo in that Spider-Man movie. Like,
- 55:10fuck, they're doing it. He's fucking back. This is so cool. And then you get
- 55:13a couple seasons of Daredevil: Born Again, which is fucking amazing, by the way.
- 55:17And now they've announced the 3rd season is going to be its final. And everyone's
- 55:19like, no. And the hashtag starting, Save Daredevil. And the head of,
- 55:23of Marvel Entertainment, or, you know, television entertainment,
- 55:26said, he's like, I can't stress this enough. I love, I love Daredevil.
- 55:30I don't want to cancel Daredevil. But if you guys can do me a favor
- 55:34and change the Save Daredevil hashtag to fucking Watch Daredevil,
- 55:39I can greenlight it. Not enough of you are watching it.
- 55:43It's the same thing in this fucking thing. Like, you want— you tell us you
- 55:46want this, you're getting what you want, and now you're
- 55:50not gonna watch. Nobody can compete. Okay, well, they did. Here's 2 fucking
- 55:54teams that competed. You're not gonna watch? Well, fuck you.
- 55:57This year they did. And now you're like, low ratings. Actually,
- 56:01I'm not going to watch. It's Milwaukee. Milwaukee can't carry the fucking
- 56:04ratings on their own. Every person in Milwaukee could watch this and it wouldn't fucking
- 56:07help if you don't. So which one the fuck is
- 56:11it? Final point.
- 56:15Is the MLB willing to institute a salary floor, which almost
- 56:18everyone wants, without a salary cap? Never. This has been something that
- 56:23has been sold to me in my comments So often I feel like I'm going
- 56:26insane. People have been like, what we really— saying to me as if,
- 56:30as if I'm a fucking idiot, have been
- 56:34like, well, they don't need a salary cap. What they need is a salary
- 56:38floor. Yeah, no shit. We're aware. Holy fucking shit. You think
- 56:42I, I think that there should be a— no guys,
- 56:45the whole thing is that the owners will not agree
- 56:50to anything. Anything, let alone
- 56:54this, without a salary cap and a salary floor
- 56:58with a salary cap that are as close as they're proposing is
- 57:02insane. Let's talk about it. Please. MLB's position.
- 57:05Commissioner Rob Manfred has consistently argued for a salary cap and a floor.
- 57:09MLB's initial proposal set the 2027 cap at $245.3
- 57:15million and the floor at $171.2 million. Million, a possible
- 57:19ongoing for negotiation in September of 2025. Manfred said a salary
- 57:23minimum could be more important than a cap in some respects, but he also described
- 57:26the floor as a necessary element of the cap systems used by other
- 57:30leagues. That is not an indication that MLB is willing to abandon the cap.
- 57:33The union's position is that the MLBPA opposes a salary cap
- 57:38and has criticized the league's proposals because the proposed benefits, including the floor,
- 57:42are conditional on accepting the cap system.
- 57:46There is no world right now with where negotiations
- 57:51are at where we can even guarantee that we will get baseball if
- 57:55the players don't agree to a cap. If you think truly at
- 57:59this point, if you are at the point where you are suggesting that the players
- 58:02just ask for a floor and not— and without getting a
- 58:06cap and that their owners will just agree to it, you are I don't know
- 58:10what world you're living in. That's not even on the table right now. Would I?
- 58:14Yeah, yeah, universe. You know what else I would love? I would love tomorrow
- 58:18for someone to just offer me a million. I would actually just like to wake
- 58:22up to it in my bank account. That's how fucking realistic this bullshit is.
- 58:25Oh, oh, you think they should have a floor? Oh my god. Well, I think
- 58:28everybody should have free healthcare too, but here we fucking are, guys.
- 58:31Holy shit. What kind of pie-in-the-sky bullshit are we fucking talking about?
- 58:35I, I, it's maddening. Now, I agree, by the way. There should be
- 58:38a floor. Yeah, yeah, obviously. I just love how people
- 58:43are like, I'm thinking no cap, definitely a floor. Yeah, bro. Boy, if there's one
- 58:47thing those billionaires are gonna— billionaires won't even agree to be taxed at a reasonable
- 58:51rate. You think they're gonna fucking just offerly willing a fucking
- 58:55floor that's gonna be like $170 million? If I
- 58:58just told you the fucking Guardians are going to the World Series with the $85
- 59:01million payroll, you think the Guardians are gonna fucking spend a penny more unless
- 59:05they're forced to do it, and you think that Rob Manfred's gonna be the one
- 59:08that's gonna usher it in? Sadly, guys, in case
- 59:12you don't know this, and I've said this on this show before and I'm gonna
- 59:13say it again until I'm fucking blue in the face and likely dead because saying
- 59:16this phrase is going to fucking kill me because I just fucking hate saying
- 59:19it so often, but I need you guys to hear it. I need you to
- 59:21understand. I need to fucking get in your goddamn soul, and I need it to
- 59:24be fucking imprinted like it's the fucking ring from Lord of the Rings in Elvish
- 59:28fucking writing. A commissioner of a league is not
- 59:32a commissioner of a league. The commissioner of a league nowadays
- 59:36has one function, and that is being the union head chief for
- 59:40the owners that hired him. That's the job. That's what
- 59:44it is. That's the goal now.
- 59:49Is that— you just did Tucker Carlson. No,
- 59:53I did not. Is that the goal? That's what we're doing. That's the goal
- 59:57now. Is that what we want? Is that
- 1:00:01what we want? Hmm. Hmm. So just
- 1:00:05to be— yeah, just to wrap this in a bow, there is no world
- 1:00:09where, where we are getting a proposed salary floor with
- 1:00:13no cap. We can barely get the owners to like back off on the cap.
- 1:00:17It could be really ugly if the players do what they're
- 1:00:21supposed to do and push back on any cap whatsoever.
- 1:00:25We are looking at losing a lot of baseball. And this,
- 1:00:28by the way, is an excellent bargaining chip for them. An excellent bargaining chip
- 1:00:32for them is that Milwaukee did what they just did.
- 1:00:36Point blank, it does help the negotiations. We— everything
- 1:00:39we just pulled up, by the way, all the parity in this league with no
- 1:00:43salary cap is only— that's all going to be in this negotiation.
- 1:00:47Yeah. So anybody— when I— I'm very rarely as
- 1:00:51as ridiculous as I am and as much as I will argue, argue with people
- 1:00:55on the internet. Yeah, I will rarely like turn my comments off so
- 1:00:59that you can't weigh in because I know I'm that right and I know that
- 1:01:02you're that misinformed. I did that last night. Yeah, I was like,
- 1:01:06you don't get to spread billionaire misinformation in
- 1:01:10my— I know more about this than you. I know more
- 1:01:14about this than you. You are wrong and we are right.
- 1:01:18And I, and I really don't say that with that much
- 1:01:22authority that often. And again, I know the argument's going to come because,
- 1:01:25listen, I live in the same world that you guys do. I live in the
- 1:01:28same economy that you guys do. I see gas prices, I see food prices,
- 1:01:30I see everything that's taking place right now. By the way, vote in November.
- 1:01:33Vote in fucking November. Vote in November. Anyways, the point—
- 1:01:37reason I'm bringing that up is I know what the new argument's going to be,
- 1:01:39because now the owners aren't going to be able to bastardize the Dodgers
- 1:01:44anymore, and they're not going to be able to villainize the players, but they're going
- 1:01:46to try to villainize colonize the players. That's going to be the old playbook because
- 1:01:49the players are just too damn greedy. And you guys who are spending so
- 1:01:53much money on this, your hard-earned money that you're spending, this can't happen. Because someone
- 1:01:56in the comments said that they were— they were like, I had someone tell it,
- 1:01:59blaming middle relievers for why they couldn't afford to
- 1:02:03take their family to a game. Like, you're right,
- 1:02:07it's fucking Tanner Scott is why you fucking can't
- 1:02:10go to a game. Oh my God, like, this is Like, they've made
- 1:02:14rules to mitigate how many guys get called up. They've mitigated— they made rules to
- 1:02:18mitigate how many times— how many guys can actually get their tenure. They've made rules
- 1:02:21to get less people in the big leagues. They've made rules to make sure they've
- 1:02:25stopped specialty pitchers from existing. That's why you don't see as many left-on-left
- 1:02:29matchups anymore, because the left-on-left, uh, relief pitcher like doesn't exist anymore.
- 1:02:32It still happens, but like now they have to face 3 batters because
- 1:02:37of the rules. So now you've basically just killed an entire
- 1:02:41entire job that existed 20 fucking 9 or 30 years ago. We don't even have
- 1:02:43the knuckleball anymore. And by the way, different issue, but I'm still mad. But you
- 1:02:45know what we really fucking need? We need more of these billionaire owners to accidentally
- 1:02:49fuck up the way Dave Rubenstein did today talking to the media. Because here's
- 1:02:53what Dave Rubenstein, owner of the fucking Baltimore Orioles, said, and he said this out
- 1:02:56loud, which probably something he shouldn't have. But if I'm the Players Association,
- 1:03:00I'm going in there on fucking December 1st with this smack dab
- 1:03:04in the middle and be like, hey, by the way, this is your 5th fucking
- 1:03:06richest owner. Anyways, this week the Baltimore owner's owner admitted
- 1:03:09that yep, the team owners make a ton of money,
- 1:03:13which is perhaps not the message the league wants to convey weeks before
- 1:03:17the owners are expected to initiate a lockout for the work stoppage. The collective— here
- 1:03:20is the phrase: a lot of my friends were buying teams and
- 1:03:23I realized they're making money. They're making more money than I'm making
- 1:03:28in private equity. I'm going to say that again.
- 1:03:32A lot of my friends were buying teams and
- 1:03:36I realized they're making money. They're making more
- 1:03:40money than I'm making in
- 1:03:44private equity. He also went on to
- 1:03:48talk about the fact that he never went into owning a team
- 1:03:51to make money because when he bought the team, it was like, hey, I just
- 1:03:54like, I have the money. I want to buy the Orioles. I want to do
- 1:03:56something for the city, whatever else. And then he found out, holy shit. And now,
- 1:03:58and now he's sort of in a spot where he's like, Damn, like people are
- 1:04:02now— his point was kind of like people are now buying teams to
- 1:04:05make money. That was really the point he was trying to make, was that this
- 1:04:09has become a way to make money, which I know seems crazy to you guys.
- 1:04:13It seems obvious, but it— for a long time,
- 1:04:17for a long time, owning a team was— yes, you had to be wealthy,
- 1:04:20you had to do that, but it was mom-and-pop shop. It was also like,
- 1:04:23yeah, like you, you had, you had systemic power and you had
- 1:04:27like all of these other things. You certainly had money. But it wasn't this like
- 1:04:30you could not flip a team for profit in 5 years. That was not
- 1:04:34something that fucking happened. No, you definitely couldn't do it anymore. Being bought as investments.
- 1:04:38We saw. Yes, we've talked several times about the fact that not
- 1:04:42only are they ballooning the valuations like they did for the— for
- 1:04:46Mark Walter and the Lakers. So Mark Walter buys it for $10 billion,
- 1:04:50flips it the next year for $12.5 billion. That's fucking insane.
- 1:04:54That's all of that stuff is happening. So to lose
- 1:04:58the plot so much that you actually side
- 1:05:02with making sure billionaires can get socialism is
- 1:05:07fucking amazing. Is nuts. That's just— this is the fucking
- 1:05:11craziest part of this. I can't believe it. It's like you guys don't
- 1:05:15want socialism, but you're going to let the billionaires have
- 1:05:20it, live in socialism. All because you don't understand how unions work. There are people
- 1:05:23who have been like, oh, these people aren't real labor.
- 1:05:26Athletes aren't real labor. Baseball, NFL, these players
- 1:05:30who grind out, sacrifice their bodies. You of all people know,
- 1:05:33like, what are you fucking talking about? These unions— I don't care that the
- 1:05:37average person in the MLB union makes more than you could possibly imagine
- 1:05:42making at your job. It is a labor union up against billionaires.
- 1:05:46They make less money, they have less resources, they have fewer assets,
- 1:05:49and they're also representing a bunch of fucking players who don't make nearly that much
- 1:05:54money, both in baseball and also, by the way, in the
- 1:05:58NHL and the NFL specifically, where these
- 1:06:02are like— you have the AHL, you have lower-paid players in that league, and then
- 1:06:05you also have in the NFL a bunch of practice squad players
- 1:06:08who may be going city to city, season to season,
- 1:06:11in-season, whatever else, who never even fucking hit $1 million a year.
- 1:06:16So enough. In any situation,
- 1:06:21it's just— it's a really easy calculus to do. If there's
- 1:06:25a billionaire, or a group at that,
- 1:06:28if there are 30 to 32 billionaires against a union,
- 1:06:31a labor union of any sort, I don't care if
- 1:06:36it's a union of fucking like rock shavers
- 1:06:40or NFL famous NFL players, you never
- 1:06:43side with a group of billionaires ever.
- 1:06:47They are lying to you about everything. Why would
- 1:06:51they be telling you the truth about this? You know, it's funny you
- 1:06:54say that. I'm going to make graphics so I stop having to get this stat
- 1:06:57that I know your mom loves so much. But I— but since I've given the
- 1:06:59stat before and we do have more viewers now than we did at the time
- 1:07:01when I used to give this stat all the time to really kind of paint
- 1:07:04the picture, I would like to paint you a picture, Tanya. How many days
- 1:07:08is 11? How many days is a
- 1:07:12million, a million seconds? 11.7 days.
- 1:07:1611.7 days is 1 million seconds.
- 1:07:201 million seconds is 11.7 days.
- 1:07:24Tanya, how long is a billion seconds?
- 1:07:2832 years? 37 years.
- 1:07:3237 years. Actually, no, you were right. It's 32.7.
- 1:07:3632.7 years. That's just— that's seconds. Now think about
- 1:07:40money. That's a lot different. So that's the difference between $1
- 1:07:44million and $1 billion is 11 days to 32 years. If you don't understand that
- 1:07:48difference and you can't then calculate it, that on top
- 1:07:52of everything else, the, the money these, these owners are making is begetting
- 1:07:57money, and that just like what they do in every single other sector and industry
- 1:08:00is what they're doing now to these sports teams. And you're, you're siding with—
- 1:08:05yeah, but like, that guy makes so much money and it makes me jealous.
- 1:08:08Yeah, get a life. That's fucking— get a fucking life. Fucking bad. Too fucking bad.
- 1:08:12Because you— sorry you couldn't. You didn't— not even couldn't, you didn't.
- 1:08:16You didn't even try, probably, most likely. But again, yeah, I never even tried to
- 1:08:20be an NHL player. I know. Well, that's fucking on you, man. I know.
- 1:08:23Fucking toughen up. I should have tried. Toughen up. Um, so yeah, you guys,
- 1:08:26you could, uh— well, I'll probably— you know what I might do is I might
- 1:08:29just clip this whole segment as a separate video on our YouTube so that
- 1:08:33people can just share it. Absolutely. I think it's very important for us to school
- 1:08:36all you fuckers. I am so tired of your stupid
- 1:08:39asses. God, I'm telling you this, I have never had it. I have never had—
- 1:08:43outside of like the way people talk about like Black quarterbacks,
- 1:08:47I've never had a single issue that has pissed me off more in
- 1:08:51my— because like at least with the Black quarterbacks thing, most people
- 1:08:54who follow me get it. This one throws people for
- 1:08:58a fucking loop. The billionaire, they've broken their brains.
- 1:09:02Media Corner. Let's go to Media Corner because something happened last night that
- 1:09:06I will say it didn't shock me. I just, I was caught off guard by
- 1:09:10it though. Okay, so Ryan Fitzpatrick went off
- 1:09:14on Bo Nix after Bronco— after the Broncos beat the Seahawks
- 1:09:18on Thursday Night Football. He, he had
- 1:09:23literal disdain in his voice. We cannot play the clip because obviously we don't want
- 1:09:27this taken down on YouTube. But I'm going to read you what he said,
- 1:09:30a clip of what he said. He said, I'm glad they scored the 2 touchdowns
- 1:09:35in the first half, but they were in 4-minute mode when the second half started.
- 1:09:38It was really frustrating to watch. And part of it for me is Bo Nix
- 1:09:42is not playing competitively. It is almost disrespectful to the quarterback position
- 1:09:46how he's playing football right now. He elaborated on why he's so disgusted,
- 1:09:50saying, first of all, the guy doesn't want to throw the ball.
- 1:09:52That's fine. He's throwing to the flats, he's throwing behind, but he has no trust
- 1:09:56from his coach. Then the disgust seeped into Ryan Fitzpatrick's tone.
- 1:10:01In overtime, he's got 2 chances to be competitive, the last one being
- 1:10:04a designed run for him to run, make somebody miss, and get a first
- 1:10:08down for your football team. Now they're in the locker room right now. They're excited.
- 1:10:11They won. He's not playing competitive football right now.
- 1:10:15Ryan Fitzpatrick wasn't alone in his criticisms of Nix, as Tony Gonzalez jumped in to
- 1:10:19note that the only thing that's protecting him obviously is the wins.
- 1:10:23Offensively right now, it's anemic. If I'm a Denver Broncos fan,
- 1:10:26I'm looking at this going, hey, if this keeps up, maybe even a good benching.
- 1:10:30I'm just saying, to get your attention, to put Jarrett Stidham in there or something,
- 1:10:33because right now offensively you cannot be happy about this. Yeah,
- 1:10:37yeah, dude, I was, uh, I was actually kind of blown away by it,
- 1:10:40but I got a question for you. It was harsh.
- 1:10:43What was wrong? So I did a lot of thinking
- 1:10:47about this because I have no problem with Boniek's criticism.
- 1:10:51In fact, I am happy to see quarterbacks criticized that
- 1:10:55deserve to be criticized. I think it's fair. I do have
- 1:10:59a problem, I think, with this odd
- 1:11:04sort of self-righteousness coming from former
- 1:11:09quarterbacks specifically about other quarterbacks in the league. Like,
- 1:11:12there is a boom or bust ability to react to these
- 1:11:16quarterbacks that's sort of rubbing me the wrong way. It's either—
- 1:11:20this is always white quarterbacks. The rules are different for the way people talk about
- 1:11:23Black quarterbacks. We'll fight that fight apparently till we fucking die.
- 1:11:26But the way that they'll talk about somebody like Josh Allen or
- 1:11:30even Justin Herbert compared to somebody like Bo Nix
- 1:11:35is like, where is the middle ground?
- 1:11:38Because I think Ryan Fitzpatrick is not wrong that Bo
- 1:11:42Nix is playing poorly. I also am
- 1:11:46not seeing a, a,
- 1:11:50a head coach who has ever been a
- 1:11:54likable, easy to get along with, believe in your
- 1:11:58fucking quarterback type guy. He fucking inherited it.
- 1:12:01He brings in Drew Brees, has 15 years of one
- 1:12:05of the best, you know, passers in the league in a fucking
- 1:12:08dome, calls it— by the way, gets suspended for a year by being a piece
- 1:12:12of shit in charge of a piece of shit. Was then comes back into
- 1:12:16the league, can't get along with Russell Wilson, shit talks him straight out
- 1:12:20of fucking Denver. Then he brings in Bo Nix and he,
- 1:12:25he clearly isn't like— clearly isn't doing what he needs to do for the quarterback
- 1:12:29he fucking chose. And now we've got Ryan Fitzpatrick like
- 1:12:34kind of, kind of saying on broadcast that like he doesn't
- 1:12:37believe Bo Nix is even trying. Yeah. And I don't know
- 1:12:41how much I love that coming from a quarterback.
- 1:12:45Okay. Can you give me some sense of what Bo Nix might be
- 1:12:49experiencing? Can you give me some sense of where you think the breakdown is happening?
- 1:12:53Can you? Because I can get on here and say exactly what, what Ryan
- 1:12:57Fitzpatrick said as somebody who's been in the media and who's a fan.
- 1:13:00I— he didn't say anything that any of us couldn't have said
- 1:13:04after having watched that game. And if, if Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to
- 1:13:08exist as a former quarterback in media, I would like to think that he
- 1:13:12can bring some sort of dimension to the conversation that is not reactionary
- 1:13:16screaming about how bad a quarterback is being. If you're going to tell
- 1:13:20me how bad he is, explain to me what you think is happening. Is it
- 1:13:24a coaching thing? Is there a mental block? Is— have you heard reporting
- 1:13:27on Bo Nix that he doesn't take his training seriously? Are there
- 1:13:31personnel issues? Is there a miscommunication with the offensive
- 1:13:34coordinator and head coach? What's happening? Because you're
- 1:13:38giving me nothing. And this is not a sports debate show. This is
- 1:13:41not First Take. This is the postgame. And I learned nothing from you
- 1:13:45other than that you think Bo Nix is a piece of shit who's not trying.
- 1:13:48And I'm not going to lie, I I mean, that's a conclusion that any random
- 1:13:52dude on Twitter could make. I got to say, you've actually
- 1:13:56swayed me on this a little bit because I was like thinking that his,
- 1:13:58like, rage was borderline kind of refreshing. But you
- 1:14:02do make a good point that he's missing a real opportunity to,
- 1:14:05like, really kind of analyze this from a quarterback's perspective
- 1:14:08rather than giving the criticism from a quarterback's perspective. And that
- 1:14:13is, honest to God, a very fair point that I hadn't actually heard or considered.
- 1:14:17Like, you know, it's just— I guess I found
- 1:14:20it refreshing because I found it so— it caught me so off guard. Sure.
- 1:14:24So I think that might have been part of it. I understand. I, like,
- 1:14:26I agree with you, and that's why it took me a second to sort of
- 1:14:28get my bearings. But no, your assessment of it I do think is quite
- 1:14:32fair because, like— but here's the thing, I'm also
- 1:14:36looking at it like I've never seen Ryan Fitzpatrick be the clickbaity guy on
- 1:14:40the show. But like, in his— like, but in his torching of somebody? Not like
- 1:14:44that. No. I mean, I've never seen him do that. How about that?
- 1:14:47Not on broadcast. He's been that dude on podcast for
- 1:14:51years. Okay. Yeah, he's been a dickhead talking shit for years. Um, and I
- 1:14:54like Ryan Fitzpatrick well enough. I think what he does in the
- 1:14:59style— like, he's not always for me, but he has been kind of a dick
- 1:15:01on a— on podcast for years. Um, and that's his, his blunt sort
- 1:15:05of delivery and his, his, uh— he's never been afraid to say how he feels.
- 1:15:09This is somebody who's also like, like He's like shit-talked Tom Brady,
- 1:15:13who like used to just ass-whoop him on every fucking AFC team he's ever been
- 1:15:16on. Like, he, you know what I mean? He's like one of those guys.
- 1:15:18Okay, fine. All right, I get it. But yeah, I just like, I just feel
- 1:15:21like we're at this point where it's like, you know, you get a quarterback in
- 1:15:24this spot and they're on TV and they're talking about, you guys don't understand what
- 1:15:27it's like in there, how hard it is, how hard it is for these decisions
- 1:15:30to be made. And they'll defend all the dudes that they like and whatever else.
- 1:15:33And then like, we've got like a serious question, like character question
- 1:15:37at head coach. Right? We've got serious, like, questions about a
- 1:15:41lot of— about what that offense looked like now under 2 different quarterbacks.
- 1:15:46And I'm just now— I'm, I'm just a little hesitant
- 1:15:50to continue to do this with discussing
- 1:15:54this position. I don't— I think Bo Nix has played really
- 1:15:58poorly, and I don't think he looks like he can be a long-term option as
- 1:16:02a franchise quarterback. I would agree. I don't. But I would love to hear some
- 1:16:05more insight from these motherfuckers whose job it is to give me that. You know,
- 1:16:09I actually don't need you to like him. I would actually love to hear more
- 1:16:12critiques of white quarterbacks who are failing us.
- 1:16:15But his, like, real anger about Bo Nix specifically
- 1:16:20while Justin Herbert continues to get passes in year 7 is confusing.
- 1:16:24That is fair. Okay, that is fair. No, you've, you've, you've actually
- 1:16:28kind of swayed me on this a little bit because I did not have that
- 1:16:31take or really have that perspective and you've kind of legitimately made me think
- 1:16:35about that. That's what I wish Ryan Fitzpatrick had done for us. Well, there you
- 1:16:38go. Well, he didn't. He caught me off guard and I was scared. Anyways,
- 1:16:42let's get over to headline number 2, because this is interesting because, you know,
- 1:16:46Troy Aikman's been a guy over the last 35 fucking years, I'd say 40
- 1:16:49years, in fact, where he's gotten a lot of shit from a lot of fucking
- 1:16:53people. Very famously, Skip Bayless and all that fucking nonsense. And he's got
- 1:16:57a lot of shit throughout his whole playing career. Through his college playing career.
- 1:17:00And on top of that, both at Tennessee and UCLA,
- 1:17:04also took an absolute beating as a player, took an absolute beating. But like,
- 1:17:08very much a legendary quarterback and has done a really good job in the
- 1:17:12role he's been in for Monday Night Football for many years. I mean, you know
- 1:17:15how people are and, you know, I'm sure people in the chat, like the one
- 1:17:18thing that like even my friends who follow me and stuff, they don't fuck around
- 1:17:22with is they mostly hate all these dudes in the booth. They hate everybody.
- 1:17:25I'm a lot lighter. I'm— my critique of people in the booth has gotten
- 1:17:29like way less over time. Easy on people in the booth. Um,
- 1:17:32I really like Joe Buck. I have always liked Joe Buck. People think I'm insane
- 1:17:36when I say that. I like Joe Buck. I like Joe Buck. Always liked Joe
- 1:17:38Buck. Troy Aikman, especially now that we've seen some of the turnover at color over
- 1:17:42the last few years, has been an institution for a long time. Been solid.
- 1:17:46Has done the job. Um, I, I— when I,
- 1:17:50I watched the, the Cowboys Netflix documentary complicated,
- 1:17:53you know, relationships throughout his career in Dallas,
- 1:17:58has, you know, very clearly, like you said, I mean,
- 1:18:02been through it, but also like has had a real cush,
- 1:18:05beautiful, amazing media job for a long time.
- 1:18:09Yep. So we are now on the precipice of, as ESPN
- 1:18:13has the Super Bowl coming up, they are going to be calling it Joe
- 1:18:17Buck and Troy Aikman. We've now got drama with him potentially leaving
- 1:18:20ESPN. Joe Buck,
- 1:18:25his broadcast partner since 2002, just signed
- 1:18:29a very lucrative extension with ESPN. And that obviously
- 1:18:33set off alarm bells for Trey Aikman, who was like, oh, I'm not
- 1:18:37in contract negotiations. That's weird. I'm also in the last year of my
- 1:18:41contract. You guys just— what's going on here? So on Wednesday, Ryan Glasspiegel of
- 1:18:44Front Office Sports reported tension between Buck and Aikman stemming from their respective contract
- 1:18:49talks, which came to a head in the form of an argument before the Bills
- 1:18:52went over the Rams on Monday night. Buck signed a contract extension report,
- 1:18:57and The Athletic reported that ESPN remains noncommittal to Aikman
- 1:19:00beyond this season. Aikman and Buck have manned ESPN's Monday
- 1:19:04Night Football booth for 24 years. Come Thursday, Aikman appeared
- 1:19:09on KTCK The Ticket in Dallas and addressed the swelling the swelling
- 1:19:13rumors, Aikman chuckled and a loaded pause followed
- 1:19:16before he finally responded. We actually
- 1:19:20grabbed some— a video of that audio. So let's play what
- 1:19:24he said on the ticket in Dallas.
- 1:19:43It's been made public that Joe has a new deal with ESPN
- 1:19:48and you don't. And there's been some
- 1:19:52stories the last couple of days that that's now causing tension between
- 1:19:56you two. We just wanted to get your perspective on this. And are
- 1:20:00these reports true and what's going on?
- 1:20:04Uh, well, I think there's a— there's probably a time and a place
- 1:20:09to— for all that to be discussed. I don't know if now's the
- 1:20:12time. Uh, I don't know that it's hard to figure out kind
- 1:20:16of what's happened, but, you know, I'll, I'll broadcast through this season
- 1:20:21and, and I'll be a free agent at the end of the year and kind
- 1:20:24of see what happens. But, uh, uh, I'm looking forward to whatever
- 1:20:28the rest of this year does hold and with the Super Bowl and all that,
- 1:20:31and, uh, where my next landing spot might be. It's been made public
- 1:20:36that Joe has a new deal with ESPN and you
- 1:20:39don't, and there's been some, uh,
- 1:20:43stories the last couple of days that that's now causing tension between
- 1:20:46you two. It's me. Oh, it's just me. Okay, so anyways, later Thursday,
- 1:20:50um, Jimmy Traina followed up with Aikman on where he stands with ESPN.
- 1:20:54Aikman doubled down on his earlier comments. He said it just seems be where
- 1:20:58they're going. They're, they're going in a different direction because there's been no
- 1:21:03talks, no contract negotiations. Aikman told Traina, we're in a Super
- 1:21:07Bowl year, the Super Bowl is February 14th, my contract ends in March. It just
- 1:21:10doesn't seem logical that if we were gonna— if they were gonna keep me,
- 1:21:12that something wouldn't be in place long before that. Um,
- 1:21:16I don't know how much, like, you know, I don't know if that audio
- 1:21:20was like— did you play it in full? I did, I played the entire thing
- 1:21:22in full. So he is clearly, like, frustrated. I got to be
- 1:21:26honest, like Troy Aikman or not, this is a fucking awful
- 1:21:30way to be treated in this particular spot. And I am so
- 1:21:34fucking horrified. Like, I— this is crazy.
- 1:21:38This man is a Hall of Fame quarterback. Yes. Who has
- 1:21:42been your color commentator for 24 years.
- 1:21:46You are entering in him calling the Super Bowl and
- 1:21:50you are ghosting him on contract negotiations while he's
- 1:21:53entering his final stretch here with you.
- 1:21:57I am, I am fucking so sick
- 1:22:01of this network. Yes, like, I, I am so
- 1:22:05sick of this network. I, I ever— so bad. Every day they do something that
- 1:22:09seems more egregious than the last fucking thing they did. So bad. And it's everybody.
- 1:22:12It's like everybody that has talent there. Like, I, I guess they're just gonna force
- 1:22:15us to to fucking watch Pat McAfee as the host of fucking— as a color
- 1:22:19guy there. Repeatedly said he doesn't want to be in the booth. Cool. So I—
- 1:22:22so that's— they're gonna make you do it. Or are they? Because like,
- 1:22:25you have to also remember Joe Buck just signed his extension.
- 1:22:29Is Joe Buck gonna call games with Pat McAfee? Oh boy,
- 1:22:32I don't want to see it, but okay. Like, and, and if it's not
- 1:22:36Pat, which of course we all agree it shouldn't be— it should not be— are
- 1:22:41we getting Dan Orlovsky? Oh boy,
- 1:22:45now I'm hoping it's— never mind, give me Pat.
- 1:22:48I'd like more Pat, please. More Pat. You know it's not
- 1:22:52gonna be good. Holy shit. I don't know a lot of that. Like,
- 1:22:55now I think, and I'm like, that should have been Ryan Clark's job, right?
- 1:22:58Or that should have been like— Ryan Clark would have been good. Like, I'm just
- 1:23:01trying to think about like, it's like there's some people here that aren't—
- 1:23:05don't work for the company anymore that it probably should be. And there's other people
- 1:23:07that work for the company that decide to go out to dinner with fucking Kid
- 1:23:10Rock and fucking Bill Maher and the president yesterday.
- 1:23:14So is that what— Stephen A. Smith. Oh, Stephen A. Smith went to dinner with
- 1:23:17Kid Rock and the president and Bill Maher.
- 1:23:21Bill Maher, Kid Rock, Donald Trump,
- 1:23:24and Stephen A. Smith. Yeah. Where was I? See,
- 1:23:28this is my— my internet community is looking out for me. They're like, you don't
- 1:23:32need to see this. Yeah. They're like, you know what? Tanya doesn't need to see
- 1:23:36this today. She's dealt with enough. What are you fucking talking about,
- 1:23:39Cody? What? What are you fucking—
- 1:23:42that's what happened. First of all, Bill Maher can literally
- 1:23:47sink to the 7th circle of hell. There's not many people in the world that
- 1:23:51I fucking think are more worthless than Bill Maher.
- 1:23:54Cannot stress that enough. Disgusting human being. Gross human being.
- 1:23:59At least Kim has no brain. I know, but what was the line?
- 1:24:02Hey Drake, heard you like them young. Yeah.
- 1:24:06Yeah. Replace Drake with other people. Mm-hmm. So, you know, I mean, well,
- 1:24:10and also I didn't say Bill Maher, but like, we are talking about him.
- 1:24:13It's just if you make that connection, that's kind of a you thing. Plus he
- 1:24:15hangs out with Donald Trump, so. Oh, he hangs out with Donald Trump. That must
- 1:24:18be fucking cool. Yeah. I just like, just so we're all clear,
- 1:24:22this is not normal to handle negotiations this
- 1:24:25way. We did actually used to live in a society where this type
- 1:24:30of stuff did not— it didn't happen like You would never leave.
- 1:24:34Like, you know, when, when we were growing up with John Madden
- 1:24:38and like Brent Musburger or whoever, right? Like these guys were institutions.
- 1:24:42And when they were ready to move on, it was this big deal, right?
- 1:24:45And this, this thing, this unceremonious
- 1:24:50ousting of legends for their company
- 1:24:53is so gross. Now, I know Troy Aikman came
- 1:24:57over from Fox. I realize that ESPN is
- 1:25:01not the longtime employer of Troy Aikman and Joe
- 1:25:04Buck, but they're Troy Aikman and Joe Buck.
- 1:25:08Like, what are we doing?
- 1:25:13Just know this is a company that doesn't give a fuck.
- 1:25:17Like, it— they're the grossest company that exists now. They just— they are.
- 1:25:21I honestly think they're the grossest fucking— they make me proud
- 1:25:25that they're one of the few companies I haven't worked for. That's how I work
- 1:25:28for me either. And it's funny, I can't believe now looking back, I can't believe
- 1:25:31I almost worked for them in 2007. I can't believe it. Really glad I didn't.
- 1:25:35I have worked for so many companies and I've been— but like, I am actually
- 1:25:38proud that I worked at Fox Sports instead. That's how
- 1:25:42I feel. And by the way, Fox Sports has its problems, but like, I'm very
- 1:25:46happy that I worked there. Like, I actually really liked working there.
- 1:25:50I liked— even the problematic people that like shouldn't be in the industry.
- 1:25:54I even got along with them. Like, the only gripe I've ever had with how—
- 1:25:58with the experience of walk— working for Fox Sports as a
- 1:26:01corporation— I had plenty of gripes dealing with people at work, we all do.
- 1:26:04Yeah. But was the way they handled the layoffs.
- 1:26:09And like, the way they handled the layoffs was corporate bullshit that I don't think
- 1:26:12my direct bosses were in charge of. So there's that.
- 1:26:16Um, but this is disgusting, and I'm completely over,
- 1:26:19uh, a lot of this. Um, All in all, I just—
- 1:26:23I think that Troy Aikman deserves better. Yes, he does. And like,
- 1:26:27yeah, he hopped from Fox. Maybe he ends up back at Fox. Maybe. Listen,
- 1:26:30human decency is not high on ESPN's list, period. Stop. That's just the way
- 1:26:34it goes, unfortunately. But, Tony, before we go. Yeah. Can I convince you in a
- 1:26:38quick, quick pop culture conversation? Yeah, of course. Pop Culture Corner, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:26:42And the reason I want to bring this up is because you just brought up
- 1:26:44the name John Madden. I wanted to ask you, have you watched the Madden movie
- 1:26:48trailer. Well, I've seen the trailer. You see the trailer? Yeah. With Nic Cage.
- 1:26:52Yeah. This— what the fuck
- 1:26:56is this? I feel like it's, it's giving the same vibe
- 1:27:00as Digger. Like, I'm like, what am I— what is anything anymore? When I
- 1:27:04see trailers, I don't know what anything is anymore. Like, truly,
- 1:27:08who is this for?
- 1:27:11I don't know, because it doesn't look like it's for football fans. It's not.
- 1:27:14It doesn't look like it's for Nicolas Cage fans,
- 1:27:18which— that's a weird thing to say out loud in general.
- 1:27:23Who truly— is it funny? Is it supposed to be fun?
- 1:27:27Because John Mulaney's in it and it looks like he's trying to be funny.
- 1:27:30Is it supposed to be funny? I, I don't think it's supposed to be funny.
- 1:27:33That was not what I was getting. I wasn't getting that it was supposed to
- 1:27:36be funny. What the fuck is this? I don't know. It looks like And
- 1:27:40who made it? Isn't it David O. Russell? Is it David?
- 1:27:43I think it's David O. Russell. That sounds right. Listen, I— listen, I, I know
- 1:27:46no one goes— I, I appreciate anyone that makes a movie. I can't
- 1:27:50stress enough, no one goes to make a movie to purposely make a bad movie,
- 1:27:53unless the goal was to make a purposely bad movie, in which case it's probably
- 1:27:56amazing. But this looks
- 1:28:00like shit. Speaking of movies that are like bizarre though,
- 1:28:04so Digger, that whole— yeah, I still don't know anything.
- 1:28:07So we've watched the trailer, whatever else, right? So Ben Affleck
- 1:28:11gets on some interview show. Oh, he's making the rounds right now. Yeah, because he
- 1:28:16did— I actually watched his movie. How is it? It's, it's, it's a situation.
- 1:28:19I love it, but like, I don't— it depends on the kind of films you
- 1:28:23like. Like, I like a, like a, an intense sort of stuck-in-one-place
- 1:28:27crime thriller. I thought it was great. But, uh, him and Kerry
- 1:28:30Washington are great. But he's Gary Washington, uh, interviewing,
- 1:28:34and he's sort of taught— he's sort of talking about how people are
- 1:28:38really giving the movie Digger shit for not making a lot of money at the
- 1:28:42box office. Oh, it's a flop and blah blah. And he, he's essentially saying like,
- 1:28:44you guys should be supporting like this type of movies. If you want movies and
- 1:28:48you don't want everything to be superhero and whatever else, then you're going to come
- 1:28:51out and fucking shit talk and blah blah and whatever else. And he's kind of
- 1:28:53like, he's just defending cinema. It's what Ben Affleck does. Yes, don't blame him.
- 1:28:57But I commented underneath it and I was like, he's afraid of Tom
- 1:29:01Cruise. And I was just making a lighthearted joke because
- 1:29:05I'm like, he was like really going hard to defend this movie that like,
- 1:29:08I don't know, whatever. Maybe it's good. Maybe it's not. I don't fucking care.
- 1:29:10But like, I was like, he's just afraid of Tom Cruise.
- 1:29:14Because, and then I had maybe like no less than like 20 to 25 people
- 1:29:18be like, have you even seen the movie? It's so good. It's a fucking masterpiece.
- 1:29:21It's amazing. It's not what you think. You have to give it a chance.
- 1:29:23And I was like, cool, yeah, no, none of that means
- 1:29:27Tom Cruise isn't scary. Yeah, Tom Cruise is insane. Like,
- 1:29:30people in Hollywood are afraid to piss off Tom Cruise. Did you not know
- 1:29:34this? Oh, I'm sorry, you're such a fucking cinephile you didn't know that Tom Cruise
- 1:29:38is an absolute psycho who scares everybody? Well-known fact. And that my joke
- 1:29:42was funny? I'm sorry that you're so out of the loop. I don't give a
- 1:29:45fuck about Tom Cruise's Digger movie. It comes on and I'm around,
- 1:29:48like, I'm not gonna be mad about it, but I'm not like It's so weird
- 1:29:51how people get when I was very clearly not
- 1:29:55reviewing the movie. Yeah, you have to understand, like, this is actually true about Tom
- 1:29:58Cruise. He's like the last of like an aged version of Hollywood.
- 1:30:02Like, he's like the last movie star that can still like
- 1:30:05summon people in the way like that people used to be
- 1:30:09summoned. Yeah, like Tom Cruise is like the only one
- 1:30:13that's still— Will Smith used to be able to do that, can't do it anymore,
- 1:30:15but Tom Cruise still can. He's like the very last of like
- 1:30:19old Hollywood. By the way, Tom Cruise could have slapped Chris Rock and he'd still—
- 1:30:22and he'd still be able to sign. Scientology is terrifying. Yes, they,
- 1:30:25they got, they got a lot. They got pictures of everybody. So many pictures,
- 1:30:29so much money. They got all— so anyways, uh,
- 1:30:33don't say Tom Cruise is scary on the internet. Apparently that's— I,
- 1:30:37I literally thought about it and I was like, these are probably Scientologists. Probably like
- 1:30:40they— oh, that makes sense. Yeah. Oh, fucking Fuck,
- 1:30:44I was like, well, I don't want to get on the wrong side of these
- 1:30:46idiots. I wonder how many of their bot factories are fucking shut down in fucking
- 1:30:48Russia. They come straight out of Clearwater, babe. Straight out
- 1:30:52of Clearwater. Uh, um, gross.
- 1:30:56Yeah, so I might be on— if you see some
- 1:31:00sort of khaki-wearing man with a still
- 1:31:04camera outside your house taking photos of me, it's probably a Scientologist.
- 1:31:08Oh, or just a fan. You know, one of my fans. Yeah, what are you
- 1:31:11gonna do, guys? Well, listen, we've done it again, Tanya. It's another fucking Friday
