- 0:42Dayna Roselli: Now on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:45Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 325.
- 0:48Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here.
- 0:51Dayna Roselli: And boy, we have said it's been a long summer because we felt like we never had a spring.
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: But now I feel like it is summer is on.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: That that summer switch has been flipped.
- 1:04Sean McAllister: We are in the the heat of it, literally.
- 1:06Dayna Roselli: I went for a 10 p.m.
- 1:08Dayna Roselli: walk last night thinking, okay, it's a little cooler.
- 1:12Dayna Roselli: So I waited, waited, and it was 96 degrees.
- 1:15Sean McAllister: I know.
- 1:15Sean McAllister: I got up and ran around the block this morning, and it was before I was like, okay, I have to set my alarm for six o'clock.
- 1:23Sean McAllister: So I get out there before the sun gets too high.
- 1:26Sean McAllister: And it was already pretty toasty at 6 a.m.
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: If you're not used to it and you're visiting us here in Las Vegas, make sure you drink plenty of water.
- 1:35Dayna Roselli: Other than that, it's fine.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: It's nice.
- 1:37Sean McAllister: It is.
- 1:38Sean McAllister: And we were actually out in the sun for the grand opening of a new restaurant location.
- 1:44Sean McAllister: Um, China Mama is a really, really popular Chinese restaurant.
- 1:49Sean McAllister: They have several locations across the Las Vegas Valley, but for people who live in the southeast portion of Las Vegas in the Henderson Green Valley area, um, they've been having to drive like up to 40 minutes to get to a China Mama location.
- 2:06Sean McAllister: And people have been doing it regularly.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: And now they have one.
- 2:11Sean McAllister: They do.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: It's so exciting.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: Uh they they were so excited.
- 2:15Dayna Roselli: They brought out a lion dance, a whole nine.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: You know, it's part of the, you know, good luck and good fortune and all that for the restaurant, but it was quite a production.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: And um we didn't really get to stay and eat, but I quickly like had some of the shrimp and the beef, and it was delicious.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: I can't wait to go back and actually sit down and have a meal.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: I've never had lunch or dinner at China Mama, and I think you said you haven't either, right?
- 2:39Sean McAllister: No, I haven't, but I'm excited to.
- 2:41Dayna Roselli: I know because it looks so good.
- 2:42Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 2:43Sean McAllister: They have the crispy beef, which is one of their signature items.
- 2:47Sean McAllister: Uh, they have uh the dumplings, which are another one of their most popular items.
- 2:55Sean McAllister: I think they had uh some sort of a prawn that that was a really popular one too.
- 3:01Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: It looked spectacular when I was watching all the food come out.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: Uh so good.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: Anyway, Chinese food is great regardless, but it looked fresh and beautiful, and I was watching them make it in the back.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: It's it had like a this one has like an open kitchen kind of concept.
- 3:17Dayna Roselli: There's glass walls, but uh glass, sorry, to look through.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: But um, in and this one's a little bit more intimate, uh, this location apparently.
- 3:25Dayna Roselli: Um, but they started opening them back in 2009, and now here we are in 2026, and Henderson finally has a location.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: It was right off St.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: Rose Parkway.
- 3:35Sean McAllister: St.
- 3:35Sean McAllister: Rose Parkway, yep, just off of the 215 highway.
- 3:38Sean McAllister: So if you are coming from a different part of the Las Vegas Valley, um, that's where you'll find it.
- 3:44Sean McAllister: Easy to get in and out.
- 3:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: Uh, we have had a busy week.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: We've been doing a lot of shoots for the TV show.
- 3:49Dayna Roselli: By the way, we did make our big debut in Hawaii.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: That was exciting.
- 3:53Dayna Roselli: We were on KITV on a Wednesday night, and then on K I K U on Sunday night.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: That was at 6.30.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: And now we'll be on every Sunday night at 6.30 in Hawaii.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: We debuted a new set, new graphics, new look.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: We added in some correspondence.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: We have uh JJ Snyder helping us and Sean De Tempesta and Patronia Poonswan.
- 4:14Dayna Roselli: And it just we got a lot of great feedback.
- 4:16Dayna Roselli: So thank you, everyone, because we put a lot of hard work into that.
- 4:18Sean McAllister: We did, and I think that um one of the most rewarding things that we heard, first of all, is that people liked the look and they love how correspondence added to the the pace of the show and having different voices to um share some thoughts and perspectives on things too.
- 4:36Sean McAllister: But also, we got feedback from people who said, That's it.
- 4:41Sean McAllister: I'm ready to plan my next trip to Vegas.
- 4:44Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 4:44Dayna Roselli: And we're talking about feedback from people in Hawaii.
- 4:47Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: I mean, we sold it, right?
- 4:49Dayna Roselli: I mean, look at and I I don't know why everyone doesn't advertise in our show.
- 4:54Sean McAllister: People should.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: People should to keep these correspondence in the show.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: We need some sponsored segments.
- 5:01Dayna Roselli: If anyone's interested, we have a lot of reach in two big travel markets online, we're on YouTube, and it's really coming together.
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: But we could, you know, we could use a little help in that department because Sean and I aren't salespeople.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: Well, and we're producing the show and writing the show and hosting the show.
- 5:17Sean McAllister: Going out on shoots and doing marketing.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: It's a great show to be a part of.
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: You know, we're proud of it, and we can say that, I think.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: Like, I think we put in the work, we're in our third season, and you know, the seventh season of the audio podcast, third season of the TV show.
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: If you're interested in checking out the new look and the new show, it's loaded up on our YouTube.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: Uh, we have it's at Vegas Revealed on online.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: And so check it out.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: Let us know what you think.
- 5:39Dayna Roselli: Um, look forward to hearing from you.
- 5:43Dayna Roselli: But as I mentioned, we've been busy getting content for the new look and the new show, and we went over to see Frankie Perez and the All-Nighters at rehearsal because they are going to start a new weekly show at Treasure Island, and I love this.
- 5:57Dayna Roselli: It's in the Treasure Island theater, but a lot of people know it as the Mysterio Theater.
- 6:03Sean McAllister: Yeah, this is the original Cirque du Soleil Theater in Las Vegas.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: Mystera was the first Cirque show to set up shop, still going strong over there at Treasure Island.
- 6:14Sean McAllister: Um, but the show is off uh one night a week.
- 6:18Sean McAllister: And Treasure Island said, you know what?
- 6:21Sean McAllister: This is a great theater.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: We could put some entertainment in here.
- 6:25Sean McAllister: And in came Frankie Perez, hot off another show at another property, uh a sister property.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Circus Circus.
- 6:33Sean McAllister: And he said, Hey, uh I have a show.
- 6:37Sean McAllister: Yeah, I can do that.
- 6:39Sean McAllister: And so that they've got a weekly show that they put together now.
- 6:42Dayna Roselli: And this is gonna be cool because it's all live music and dancers, and it's in this theater in the round, because Myster is a stage that sits, you know, in the round, and the you know, the theater kind of wraps around it, uh, similar to Awakening at the win.
- 6:56SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, so we went over before we get into details, let's uh share our interview because Frankie Perez, we interviewed him.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: He's born and raised in Las Vegas, and and he kind of explains a little bit about you know his story and also why he's doing this show.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: And it was a fun conversation.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: I was born and raised here in Las Vegas, and I actually found out today that I'm probably the only headliner in town that was born and raised here.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: If you think back, Frank, Dean, they're all from someplace else.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: So as a kid growing up, you're dreaming about this.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: To be here is is it's pretty thrilling.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: I remember driving down the strip towards Caesars and seeing all the marquees and just dreaming of someday being able to do this because the entertainment bug got me really, really early.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: So I signed my first Wreck of Deal with Atlantic in 2001.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: I've always been a singer-songwriter.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: And uh and I learned, I cut my teeth on covers.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: I learned how to write songs by playing cover songs and whatnot.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: But I never just do a cover, I have to make it my own, I have to believe in it.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Those things actually are what taught me how to write songs.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: So talk about some of the things you've been doing recently.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: I mean, this Circus Circus show was really cool.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: I mean, it sounds like you really like to get a little creative too.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Well, that was one of the things I remember as a kid.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Like, my mother would go, we should go to Circus Circus to gamble, and we'd go up in the midway.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: My sister was actually sitting right there, and they would drop us off, and we would sit in the midway and watch the act.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: And even back then, I was like, it'd be so cool to do something on that stage.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: So I kept that in the back of my head, back in my head.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: We just put a record out on Virgin, this uh the album's called Domino, the single's called Domino as well.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: And I was like, what better way to do this?
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Like something quirky, something different.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: And uh we went to the Turks Turks people and I pitched them the idea, and I think they were a little like thrown back for a second, and I was like, this is gonna work.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And we get in there and it was packed.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: There was people everywhere, and it was, and to be honest with you, it's that show really inspired what I want to do here.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: It just is for everyone.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: And I and I learned that that day.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: There was kids of every background, every age, there's there's every religion.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: It was I looked around, I was like, this is what I've been missing, and that's what we're gonna create here.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's no tracks.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: This is a live band, live show, incredible dancers, and uh I think people are are are are are hungry for that again.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: And the price point's great for people.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: That is that was a big deal for us.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: And the fact that the team here at Chudger Island was all about it.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: It just shows that they care.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Um Times are tough.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Things are hard.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter where you land, it's we're all going through it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: And I think a high ticket price right now, I don't know, it's not for me.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: They're all about it.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: $25, all in.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: You know, that way you can bring your family, you can bring a date.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: You don't have to worry about breaking the bank, you can still afford concession, you can still afford a drink, you can still afford dinner after.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: You know, we needed it, and I'm and I hope that we're providing that for them.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: And free parking at Treasure Island?
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: And free parking, come on, right?
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Let's recap.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: Let's recap.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: So, so$20 ticket,$25 all in, free parking, great dining, an incredible showroom.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: I mean live music.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, live music.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: What's more Vegas than that?
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Listen, we were we've never been cheap.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: Vegas was never cheap, but we were affordable, right?
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: And we have to get back to that.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: That was great.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: We thank Frankie for letting us in on rehearsal.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: Here's the deal, everyone.
- 10:49Dayna Roselli: The first show is free.
- 10:51Dayna Roselli: So get out your calendar.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: Thursday, June 25th, a complimentary opening night performance at seven o'clock.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: Doors are at six, and then every Thursday after that, as you heard Frankie say, 25 bucks at Treasure Island to see his show.
- 11:07Sean McAllister: That's amazing.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I love that he said, I, you know, we gotta do this, we gotta keep the price point.
- 11:12Sean McAllister: For sure.
- 11:13Sean McAllister: And uh this is a high energy show.
- 11:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, as you heard Frankie say, there is a full band up on stage.
- 11:21Sean McAllister: He is singing live, they have dancers in there too.
- 11:25Sean McAllister: It is uh from what we saw at rehearsal, it is a show that is going to be full of energy.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I can't, I'm so happy for him, and I love that he's born and raised here, too.
- 11:36Dayna Roselli: Isn't that cool?
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: Um, hey, before we uh move on, let's talk about some other headliners.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: Uh Las Vegas headliner Matt Franco, magician we've talked about many times and done stories with and interviews, uh, just celebrated 3,000 shows at the Matt Franco Theater inside the Link Hotel.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: He sent us a hat and he sent us a deck of cards.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: Thank you, Matt Franco, to celebrate.
- 11:59Dayna Roselli: And he's he's signed on as well for you know an extension.
- 12:04Dayna Roselli: He's gonna be, I think, to 2030 so far.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: So I mean, he'll be there and he's been there for 10 years.
- 12:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, he's going strong.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: It's a really fun show uh to go and see, also.
- 12:15Sean McAllister: I've talked about it before, but when he makes all the wine bottles appear out of nowhere, that's that's my favorite trick.
- 12:22SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 12:22Sean McAllister: Um, but Matt's such a nice guy.
- 12:26Sean McAllister: He uh, if you don't know, is a winner of America's Got Talent and ended up uh getting a show here in Las Vegas because of that.
- 12:35Sean McAllister: And he's now uh you know raising his family here.
- 12:39Sean McAllister: Uh he got married out here, uh, and he's just uh become a fixture of Las Vegas entertainment now.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: And you know who else has become a fixture and is a fixture, even well beyond that, Penn and Teller.
- 12:52Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: And they just extended again their show at the Rio for three more years.
- 12:57Dayna Roselli: And so I love that.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: It's I just love when our longtime staple shows stick around and you know, just keep calling Las Vegas home.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: And a lot of times they're staying at the same properties, and it makes those properties iconic.
- 13:12Dayna Roselli: You know, if you're going to the Rio, you're gonna find Penn and Teller.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: If you're going to the Link, you're gonna find Matt Franco.
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: You know, you're going over to Luxor, you're gonna find the blue man group and Carrot Top.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 13:21Sean McAllister: Well, and uh Penn and Teller have even used their Penn and Teller theater over at the Rio uh for their TV series, Fool Me, where they have other uh magicians come up on stage and try and uh do a trick that's going to fool Penn and Teller and the panel of people up on the on the stage.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: And if you can fool them, then that means it's a trick or a technique that they have not seen before.
- 13:49Sean McAllister: Right.
- 13:50Sean McAllister: And I think that's what really wows them and excites them is seeing this new magic talent uh in front of them.
- 13:58Sean McAllister: And and it's always cool to see things that you've never seen, especially when you've been in the industry for as long as Penn and Teller have.
- 14:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: They're great.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: They do so many things in the community, they make time for Las Vegas.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: Um so it's great.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: Um, by the way, uh Rio going through another kind of transition, some changes over there, new GM, uh Dreamscape, the owner.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: We've interviewed them way back.
- 14:26Dayna Roselli: Um, but apparently they now only have like a portion of ownership, or there's so there's some changes going on.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: We just hope it will continue in a positive direction because they have done a lot over there.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: And I know there's uh different opinions about that you see in the social worlds.
- 14:45Dayna Roselli: Um, but if you walk in the front door, it looks like a new place.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: And they added the the great food hall there with all the different choices.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: Um they have a new lobby bar that's wonderful, new casino floor toward the front.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: They've added, you know, the breakfast place egg slut and a lot of other additions, redone a lot of the rooms.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: And we just need to keep keep it going in that direction.
- 15:11Sean McAllister: We do because that uh Rio is uh that's a a property that holds so many memories for so many people.
- 15:19Sean McAllister: Up on the roof, up at uh uh they added high stakes from chef James Trees.
- 15:26Sean McAllister: And you know, I know that they're doing uh watch parties from the patio up at High Stakes for the Saturday night fireworks that are happening here on the strip uh through the end of July.
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:39Sean McAllister: So that's another another draw, another reason to go up there.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: And then we just did a story with Empire Strikes Back, who's doing really well over there.
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: They're seven nights a week.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: I said strikes.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: I do that every time.
- 15:50Dayna Roselli: Empire Strips Back, the burlesque parody show, really fun show.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: We went over to see it.
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: Um they just celebrated a year and they're seven nights a week now.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: So some of the nights two nights, two shows a night, or maybe every night even.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: I mean, so you know, things are in a positive direction, and let's keep them moving that way, right?
- 16:09Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 16:10Sean McAllister: We we hope that that that is the case.
- 16:12Sean McAllister: We like to see all properties uh do well.
- 16:15Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: Hey, um, so Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are coming back to Voltaire at the Venetian.
- 16:21Dayna Roselli: Um they are coming back for, let's see, 10 additional dates, August 7th to the 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th to the 16th, and then 21st to the 23rd.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: Um, we didn't get to go over and see that, but I was laughing because I was like, Jimmy Jam, I know the name.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: And then Taylor Swift was getting inducted into the uh songwriters hall of fame, and there she was on the carpet having an encounter with Jimmy Jam.
- 16:45Dayna Roselli: And I was like, that's Jimmy Jam.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: And then I was looking, you know, more in depth and realizing that you know they created, produced a lot of really huge hits, Janet Jackson hits and all sorts of stuff.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: So I'm now intrigued, and because I love songwriting, and um they I kind of want to see Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis over at Voltaire.
- 17:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, I when when we heard that they were extending, we were like, oh wow, good for them.
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:11Sean McAllister: And now for good reason they're extending.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: Their show's called Nothing But the Hits.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: So they have a lot of hits out there that they are behind, and so I bet it's a great show.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: So I'm glad to hear that they'll be back in August over there at Voltaire at the Venetian.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: Um, Sean, we went to Carbone and I don't think we talked about that.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: We talked about BOA, but we went and joined some friends, uh, a little kind of business slash friend dinner.
- 17:40Dayna Roselli: Um and enjoyed it.
- 17:42Dayna Roselli: That was your first time at Carbone.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: So weren't you amazed how much you get as you sit down?
- 17:49Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 17:50Sean McAllister: The parmesan chunks, the parmesan chunks, the bread basket.
- 17:55Sean McAllister: It was it's like your table is is full.
- 18:00Dayna Roselli: Salami.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: Before yeah, the salami, like there's a little charcuterie selection, and that's even before you order your food.
- 18:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:08Sean McAllister: This is just what they bring to hold you over.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: It was a delicious dinner.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: Delicious.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: Encourage sharing.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: So we got out two pastas, two meats, uh, we got artichoke hearts, I think.
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: Um the food, it was delicious.
- 18:23Dayna Roselli: It's always great, and I love that they let it breathe.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: They don't rush you.
- 18:27Sean McAllister: No, they don't.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: You know, I don't like to be rushed.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: And um we have great waiters over there at Carbone.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Just a great, it's hard to get a reservation.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: You gotta book it in advance.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: So you do.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: There's the tip there.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: Um, we also did interview um Chef Kwame Amwachi at Maroon at the Sahara.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: We're gonna save that until next week because I want to talk about my experience eating there.
- 18:50Dayna Roselli: I know you're gonna go.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: Uh, we really enjoyed our interview with Chef.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: So we're putting that together and we'll share that with you soon as well.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: So many restaurants.
- 18:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, there are so a ton of restaurants that are that have opened and that will be opening um with some really great chefs.
- 19:05Sean McAllister: Chef Kwame is a super celebrated uh young chef who's really making waves in the culinary scene.
- 19:13Sean McAllister: So we're excited to um uh share that interview with you as well.
- 19:19Dayna Roselli: You know what?
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: We have a listener message.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: Dun da.
- 19:24Sean McAllister: Um Is that our new is that our new theme song for our listener message?
- 19:29Dayna Roselli: All right, a message from San Antonio, Texas.
- 19:32Dayna Roselli: Uh I love your show and all the hot tips.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: I've been coming to Vegas for almost 25 years, and I've been asked to help plan my best friend's son's 21st birthday over Labor Day weekend.
- 19:45Dayna Roselli: My vibe these days is usually not much of a 21-year-old's.
- 19:49Dayna Roselli: So I'm wondering if you have any suggestion for a Vegas nightclub that is hot right now.
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: We will definitely be sending them to a pool day club, but need nighttime suggestions for them.
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: Also, any fun, lively dinner ideas for a group.
- 20:04Sean McAllister: Um I mean, I have a feeling that that Roselli is gonna say, make sure you go see the chain smokers at XS.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: Well, that's what I was gonna say.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: And I don't know if they're there that weekend, but I feel like they might be.
- 20:16Dayna Roselli: Um but XS is great at the win, you really can't beat it.
- 20:19Dayna Roselli: It's just it's indoor-outdoor.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: Um they always have a great lineup of DJs.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: I also think that with the new Omnia day club and the the bridge, the sky bar connecting to Omnia nightclub, that's also kind of a good choice as well.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: Omnia's always good, I feel like.
- 20:41Sean McAllister: And if you are well, how many people are coming?
- 20:44Dayna Roselli: Well, it doesn't say how many.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: But like it's okay, so it's this for the son's 21st birthday.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: So group of guys, I'm assuming.
- 20:55Sean McAllister: So I would also say at some point in the evening or just after dark, um go and get a a table up in on the roof of all red and grab some beers and some food up there.
- 21:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:08Sean McAllister: And they have live entertainment up on that rooftop stage.
- 21:11Dayna Roselli: That could be fun.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: Also, I mean, I'm not gonna suggest if they really wanna, you know, make it memorable to go to the Spearmint Rhino.
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: I mean, have they had a strip club experience before?
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's nothing dangerous, it might be kind of fun.
- 21:27Sean McAllister: That is true.
- 21:29Sean McAllister: That is true.
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: So the rhino is very popular here in Las Vegas, one of many, many, many strip clubs that we have here.
- 21:37Sean McAllister: Um and they'll send a limo for you.
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: They'll send a limo for you.
- 21:42Dayna Roselli: They sure will.
- 21:43Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 21:44Sean McAllister: Um, and you and they do have a lot of them do have a buffet that you can use.
- 21:49Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 21:50Dayna Roselli: They got a lot going on over there.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: They do.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: Um, also, uh, Live Nightclub is newer at the Fountain Blue.
- 21:57Dayna Roselli: People rave about it.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: They have a stellar lineup of DJs.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Depends, you know, who's there for Labor Day weekend.
- 22:02Dayna Roselli: Sometimes the calendar doesn't go out that long.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: So we feel like we can like touch base on this as it gets closer.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: But I really think excess, omnia, or live.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: Okay, old red, outside, great view.
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: And maybe hit up Spearmint Rhino late night.
- 22:18Sean McAllister: There we go.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: Um, so that's our choice.
- 22:23Sean McAllister: How's that for a 21st itinerary?
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: Because you know what?
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: I forgot what the question was.
- 22:27Dayna Roselli: I literally, we just live read that.
- 22:29Dayna Roselli: And so that was literally off the top of our head.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: Imagine if we invested a little more time in thinking about that.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: But which we will.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: But I don't know.
- 22:36Dayna Roselli: I think the best, the best reaction comes from the top of your top of your mind, right?
- 22:41Sean McAllister: That's true.
- 22:42Sean McAllister: It's you know you know, well, it wasn't my 21st birthday.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: I think it was my 30th birthday.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: Uh I had some family in town and a bunch of friends, and we went to uh Batista's Hole in the Wall for dinner.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: That's good.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: Because you know Well, it's fun.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: It's fun.
- 23:01Sean McAllister: It's fun.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: As an Italian.
- 23:03Sean McAllister: And then we went to uh the center bar over at Bellagio, which did it used to be Caramel or it's where uh Pinky Ring is now.
- 23:17Sean McAllister: Remember there used to be the center bar?
- 23:19Sean McAllister: It was a lounge, an ultra lounge.
- 23:21Sean McAllister: They had a DJ playing in there.
- 23:23Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 23:23Sean McAllister: At any rate, we were there and shut that place down.
- 23:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was a lot of fun.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: And they used to have that nightclub in there.
- 23:31Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 23:32Dayna Roselli: Oh, is that now Mayfair or is that Mayfair now?
- 23:35Sean McAllister: No, so that was uh there was a lounge where Mayfair is.
- 23:41Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 23:42Sean McAllister: Um, and they had live entertainment in there too.
- 23:44Sean McAllister: That was one of my favorite places because they had a they had a bar uh with uh bar top.
- 23:50Dayna Roselli: Hyde.
- 23:52Sean McAllister: It was Hyde Lounge at one point.
- 23:56Sean McAllister: Right?
- 23:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: I think it was.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think so.
- 23:58Sean McAllister: And then it but but even before Hyde, it was something else.
- 24:03Sean McAllister: But I remember going in there.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: I used to love that place.
- 24:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, and there was no admission, and you just had to wait for a table to open up, right?
- 24:10Sean McAllister: And then they would seat you, and then you'd just have the cocktail waitress come around.
- 24:15Sean McAllister: They had the little um table snacks, just a little you know, the nuts and crackers and that was great.
- 24:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was fun.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: I was just thinking, um, this has nothing to do with anything.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: I don't know, even know why it popped in my mind.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: But Palace Station is having a big drone show for the station casinos uh their 50th anniversary.
- 24:37Dayna Roselli: Anniversary, uh July 1st, by the way.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: So maybe we'll have more details on that next week because I think we still got a little time and then we can pull that up.
- 24:43Sean McAllister: And I actually uh live in the vicinity uh uh a radius where uh Boulder Station, another station casino's property, um, they send letters out in the mail too I you got I got one from Pellas because I got one from Palace.
- 25:00Sean McAllister: I got one from Boulder Station that said, Hey, we're gonna be setting off fireworks.
- 25:03Sean McAllister: Just want to let you know I love that it's gonna be happening.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: I literally almost took a picture of that and sent it to our friend that works for stations and said, This is so nice.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: That you sent a let that they sent letters in the mail.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: So I love that they did that.
- 25:18Sean McAllister: I saw somebody comment online that they got one.
- 25:21Sean McAllister: Uh, I don't know if it was for Red Rock, it was for one of the station uh properties, and people were chiming in.
- 25:27Sean McAllister: They're like, I've lived near a station property for decades, and they've always sent these out to people.
- 25:34Sean McAllister: It was the first time that I've received one, I think.
- 25:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, well, probably because Boulder doesn't usually do the fireworks, right?
- 25:41Sean McAllister: Yeah, true.
- 25:42Dayna Roselli: And I feel like Palace either, because like a lot of times at 4th of July, when they have the bit, you know, it's Red Rock, well, now Durango and Green Valley.
- 25:50Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:50Sean McAllister: Well, I used to live right over by Green Valley.
- 25:53Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: Hmm.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: Interesting.
- 25:55Sean McAllister: But maybe I didn't used to get my mail.
- 25:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, maybe maybe that's the difference.
- 25:59Dayna Roselli: Well, let's do some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 26:05Sean McAllister: Well, how about we start with our celebrity news with a Vegas twist with the one and only Flavor Flav.
- 26:11SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 26:11Sean McAllister: He's a Las Vegas resident.
- 26:13Sean McAllister: Uh, he is so supportive of many things.
- 26:18Dayna Roselli: Many things.
- 26:19Sean McAllister: Among them, uh, if you recall, Flavor Flav was a big supporter of Team USA at the Summer Olympics.
- 26:28Sean McAllister: He was.
- 26:29Sean McAllister: And after some of the uh men's teams were invited to come to the White House and have a big celebration there, uh, Flav said, Hey, how come the how come the female teams aren't being invited?
- 26:46Sean McAllister: And he said, You know what?
- 26:47Sean McAllister: I'm gonna do something about it.
- 26:49Sean McAllister: So he created Flavor Flaves She Weekend, yeah, which is a four-day celebration here in Las Vegas from July 16th through the 19th that is honoring all US female Olympic and Paralympic medalists.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: So cool.
- 27:08Sean McAllister: He has gone to the Clark County Commission, partnered with MGM Resorts, and gotten a bunch of other people to uh come in and be a part of this to show these Olympic medalists a great time here in Las Vegas.
- 27:25Sean McAllister: So that's happening mid-July the 16th through the 19th.
- 27:29Sean McAllister: If you want to come out here and show support for our female Olympians, that's the time to do it.
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it features a public parade down the strip.
- 27:39Dayna Roselli: How fun.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: Pool parties, concerts at Toshiba Plaza, events at properties like the Palms, lots of things going on.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of the different casino companies are on board.
- 27:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's gonna be this is a fantastic example of putting your celebrity to good use.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: Yes, and he's always done that.
- 28:00Sean McAllister: He has.
- 28:00Dayna Roselli: He saved Red Lobster.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: He saved Red Lobster, then he went to just about all of Taylor Swift's tour stops.
- 28:07Dayna Roselli: Easter did he actually I saw him.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: He was on my plane from Vancouver to Vegas.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: We were heading back after the final air tour weekend.
- 28:15Dayna Roselli: Isn't that funny?
- 28:16Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 28:17Dayna Roselli: It's so random.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: He is a riot.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: He's got some energy.
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: Um yeah, he's he's a great.
- 28:26Dayna Roselli: So I'm excited that he's doing this and that everyone kind of surrounded him and said, Yeah, let's get it done.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, so the Pope was okay.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: Well, first of all, before we get to the Pope in the in the Vegas Golden Knights jersey, uh we need to say um great season for our Vegas Golden Knights hockey team again, making it to the Stanley Cup playoffs.
- 28:45Sean McAllister: The finals.
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: We couldn't pull it out.
- 28:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the finals.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: Couldn't pull it out in the end.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: Um, but we've been in the finals a lot.
- 28:55Sean McAllister: But we three times?
- 28:56Sean McAllister: We extended our playoff run just about as far as you can extend it.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: Um, it was a lot of fun.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: It was fun to watch the games, great for the city, everyone rallying around.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: I love it so much, and I love how the whole city just embraces this team for good reason because they are Vegas born.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: They are not transfer from another city, they were born here in Las Vegas, and that's what's cool.
- 29:18Dayna Roselli: Um, but on that note, uh, you know, the Vegas Golden Knights game host, Mark Chinook, we've talked about many, many times.
- 29:25Dayna Roselli: People know Mark from all different facets of the sports world and performance world.
- 29:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:30Dayna Roselli: Uh he went and brought a VGK jersey to the Pope during one of his processions after after the mass, and he held it up, and there's a video, because I'm assuming it was probably his wife that was shooting it.
- 29:44Sean McAllister: I would imagine.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, where he looks at Mark, points, and is like, give me the like he wants the jersey.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: He's in the Pope Mobile, and it went viral, and everyone's just loving it.
- 29:56Dayna Roselli: And we love that the Pope, you know, actually, out of all those people lining in the streets, pointed to Mark holding the jersey and gave him the and I think it was one of the uh a Pope handler who came over and grabbed the jersey.
- 30:09Sean McAllister: And it did now I have not seen a follow-up.
- 30:12Sean McAllister: I have not seen if the Pope has posted any pictures in his new VGK jersey.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: Well, think about how many things people give him.
- 30:21Sean McAllister: He probably gets a lot.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:23Dayna Roselli: Um maybe if they won the Stanley Cup, he would have.
- 30:25Sean McAllister: And it says Pope Leo on the back.
- 30:27Sean McAllister: It was a custom jersey number 14 that Mark Chinook brought to him.
- 30:32Sean McAllister: Isn't that cool?
- 30:33Sean McAllister: And that's so cool.
- 30:34Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 30:34Sean McAllister: What a moment.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: It would that was fun to watch.
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: Really fun.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: Oh man.
- 30:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, that that's the the great thing about social media.
- 30:41Dayna Roselli: That is like one of the things that I really like is you know, seeing things like that.
- 30:45Dayna Roselli: The good stuff.
- 30:46Dayna Roselli: The good stuff happen.
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: So um, Pauly D, we haven't seen him in a while, but apparently he was at the A's game here in Las Vegas.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: Um, you took note of this.
- 30:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, the A's uh played a stretch of, I believe, seven games, six, seven games at the Las Vegas ballpark.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: That's out at uh downtown Summerlin.
- 31:05Sean McAllister: Um while the A's new stadium is being built on Las Vegas Boulevard, right on the on the strip.
- 31:14Sean McAllister: Uh, they went out and played at the Vegas ballpark.
- 31:16Sean McAllister: Um, Pauly D was uh throughout the ceremonial first pitch.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 31:23Sean McAllister: It was great.
- 31:24Sean McAllister: So at that game, there was Nick Carter and Pauly D, who were who were a couple of the celebrities, and they had they've had other celebrities who threw out pitches for for those games as well.
- 31:36Sean McAllister: But great to see the A's playing here in Las Vegas already and and getting that support from the community and from celebrities too.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: It's such a fun town.
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: We have all these like people from all different backgrounds and celebrities and like living here.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: I mean, flavor flavor and poly D.
- 31:57Sean McAllister: And Pauly D put a uh he put a whole long video up on his uh Instagram, and it was like his day at the ballpark throwing out the pitch.
- 32:07Sean McAllister: Right.
- 32:08Sean McAllister: And he was loving first of all, uh Pauly D is one of the nicest, most friendly guys that uh I've met.
- 32:18Sean McAllister: Yes, he is so fun.
- 32:20Dayna Roselli: We always talk about him.
- 32:21Dayna Roselli: We love him.
- 32:22Dayna Roselli: We need to hook up with him again soon and see what we do, what he's got, what he's got cooking.
- 32:28Sean McAllister: He's always got something cooking.
- 32:29Dayna Roselli: Jim Tan and Laundry, right?
- 32:31Dayna Roselli: Hey, have you heard this new uh Steve Aoki and uh Sebastian Menascalco song that they released together?
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: Hold on.
- 32:40Sean McAllister: Sebastian the comedian?
- 32:42Dayna Roselli: Yes, so they've been pushing it online.
- 32:44Dayna Roselli: They hooked up, you know, because they both, you know, Sebastian has a show here.
- 32:48Sean McAllister: Steve Aoki lives here.
- 32:51Dayna Roselli: So they did a song together because you know, Sebastian's a funny guy, and it's called Does Your Father Know You Dance Like That?
- 32:58Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 32:59Dayna Roselli: And they've been playing it at the clubs, and it's getting really popular, Shirley.
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: Your father know you dance like that.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: How good is this?
- 33:26Dayna Roselli: So Sebastian went to I think it was, I think it was Omnia and joined him for a night behind the the DJ booth.
- 33:33Sean McAllister: Hilarious.
- 33:34Dayna Roselli: I'll show you the video after.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: It's on Sebastian and Steve.
- 33:37Dayna Roselli: They collabed, and it's a whole thing, and now people are starting to do a lot of viral videos.
- 33:42Sean McAllister: Oh, I bet.
- 33:43Dayna Roselli: And it's hilarious.
- 33:45Sean McAllister: Oh, good.
- 33:46Sean McAllister: What an unlikely pairing.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: Very unlikely.
- 33:51Sean McAllister: That's so fun though.
- 33:52Dayna Roselli: I think it was Steve came to like uh the Encore Wind dressing room while Sebastian was getting ready for a show.
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: They sat down, discussed it.
- 34:00Dayna Roselli: It was like a whole thing.
- 34:02Sean McAllister: And he busted out the voice.
- 34:04Sean McAllister: Steve busted out the voice notes on his phone and said, Hey, Sebastian, can you say, does your father know you dance like this?
- 34:11Sean McAllister: And then he got a whole song out of it.
- 34:14Dayna Roselli: He sure did.
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: It's a little bit more.
- 34:17Dayna Roselli: That's amazing.
- 34:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's it is amazing.
- 34:20Dayna Roselli: And I love that it's getting traction.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: But Sebastian just posted somebody doing a dance to it online.
- 34:28unknown: Did your father know you dance like that?
- 34:34Sean McAllister: I can see why it's getting popular.
- 34:37Sean McAllister: Right?
- 34:37Dayna Roselli: It's catchy.
- 34:38Sean McAllister: It's catchy.
- 34:39Dayna Roselli: Anyway, that's I just threw that into the celebrity news with the Vegas twist.
- 34:43Sean McAllister: Perfect.
- 34:44Sean McAllister: Perfect way to wrap it up.
- 34:45Dayna Roselli: Let's wrap it up.
- 34:46Dayna Roselli: All right, we got things to do.
- 34:48Dayna Roselli: Thank you everyone for joining us, and we will talk to you next week.
