- 1:35Speaker 1: join Lama over on couch Court where Lama and a
- 1:39Speaker 1: few opinionated co hosts they are breaking down the wild
- 1:43Speaker 1: moments from the Karen Reid trial. Okay, every day eight
- 1:47Speaker 1: thirty am Eastern or whatever time court starts. Now, as
- 1:52Speaker 1: I tell all of you, these cases are hard. Okay,
- 1:57Speaker 1: they are, we know that, But hold on because today's
- 2:01Speaker 1: just as rough and in some ways rougher So Lake, Odessa, Michigan.
- 2:07Speaker 1: It's a charming little village town where people, guys, they
- 2:12Speaker 1: still smiled at each other in the grocery store, and
- 2:14Speaker 1: the neighbors all greeted each other by name. I think
- 2:19Speaker 1: that's amazing. I could not live someplace like that because
- 2:22Speaker 1: I have too many skeletons in my closet. Now, for
- 2:25Speaker 1: eighteen year old Devlin Tate, it was home. It was
- 2:29Speaker 1: a place filled with familiar routines and the comfort of family. Now, guys,
- 2:35Speaker 1: Devlin wasn't your typical eighteen year old. He had several
- 2:39Speaker 1: medical conditions that made life a little bit more challenging
- 2:42Speaker 1: for him. He had cerebral palsy, Tourette's syndrome ADHD, and
- 2:49Speaker 1: fetal alcohol syndrome. But guys, he faced each day with courage. Okay,
- 2:54Speaker 1: he didn't let it get him down. And to those
- 2:57Speaker 1: who knew him, Devlin was a com mind in gentle soul. Now,
- 3:02Speaker 1: his mental age, his family shares is more in the
- 3:05Speaker 1: line with a child between the age of seven and twelve.
- 3:09Speaker 1: His family says he was very outgoing, loving and very
- 3:14Speaker 1: social and guys, he loved fishing on calm afternoons. He
- 3:18Speaker 1: loved attending church and walking around town. It was all
- 3:22Speaker 1: part of his routine. And Guys, it was a sense
- 3:25Speaker 1: of independence he had grown into and it made him
- 3:30Speaker 1: feel connected and part of his community. Which, guys, that
- 3:34Speaker 1: is so important when individuals are struggling with these kind
- 3:38Speaker 1: of you know, health issues. Now, on the morning of Monday,
- 3:43Speaker 1: April twenty first, twenty twenty five, Yes, guys, April twenty first,
- 3:48Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, Devlin followed his usual routine. He got up,
- 3:53Speaker 1: he walked into town, and guys, this is something he
- 3:56Speaker 1: did almost every day now. He stopped at Carl's super Market,
- 4:00Speaker 1: where surveillance captured him entering around eight twenty one. He
- 4:06Speaker 1: was wearing a black zip up puddy, a white T shirt,
- 4:09Speaker 1: blue jeans, and black cowboy boots. Guys. Sometimes after that,
- 4:14Speaker 1: Devlin disappeared. By that evening, panic had set in. Devlin
- 4:21Speaker 1: always came home between six and eight pm. Okay, he
- 4:26Speaker 1: was reliable like clockwork. But guys, this time he did
- 4:31Speaker 1: not return home. His family reported him missing at ten PM,
- 4:36Speaker 1: and the Alona County Sheriff's Office began their investigation. Guys,
- 4:42Speaker 1: Today is May twelfth, and since that day in April,
- 4:45Speaker 1: there have been no confirmed sightings, no phone activity, no
- 4:49Speaker 1: social media post, no banking records. Guys, it is as
- 4:54Speaker 1: if he vanished into thin air. Now, behind the scene,
- 5:00Speaker 1: his family has been doing everything they can. They've sold
- 5:04Speaker 1: T shirts and signs, They've held their own search parties,
- 5:08Speaker 1: and they are organizing a bake sell on May eighteenth
- 5:11Speaker 1: from noon to four pm to raise funds for a reward. Now,
- 5:16Speaker 1: the community has rallied, but law enforcements updates have been minimal. Now, Guys,
- 5:23Speaker 1: I wanted to say, it's frustrating for so many that
- 5:28Speaker 1: law enforcement doesn't give as much information as we would
- 5:33Speaker 1: like them to. I always try to remind all of
- 5:36Speaker 1: us sometimes they have to play things close to the best,
- 5:41Speaker 1: But damn, I wish they could find a way to
- 5:43Speaker 1: share more with the family. Okay. Devlin's family did share
- 5:48Speaker 1: some concerns that may add context. He had recently been
- 5:53Speaker 1: bullied by local high school students, but he never said
- 5:58Speaker 1: he felt unsafe. Law enforcement are aware of this and
- 6:03Speaker 1: they know the individuals. Okay. He has also had expressed
- 6:06Speaker 1: an ongoing desire to meet his biological mother, who lives
- 6:10Speaker 1: in Arizona. Guys, for over a year, he had talked
- 6:14Speaker 1: about her often. The biological mother has been contacted but
- 6:19Speaker 1: says she has not heard from Devlin. Additionally, he had
- 6:24Speaker 1: some recent legal troubles which may have added emotional stress
- 6:29Speaker 1: in the days leading up to his disappearance. But Guys,
- 6:33Speaker 1: his family says, Deflin did not run away. Okay, he
- 6:37Speaker 1: had too many routines, too many familiar touchstones. He was
- 6:42Speaker 1: not a threat to anyone. He was simply loved. His
- 6:47Speaker 1: family said. He is a sweet kid and they miss
- 6:49Speaker 1: him deeply. Devlin is not dangerous. He just has a
- 6:54Speaker 1: younger mine, and they've said, we are thankful for everyone
- 6:58Speaker 1: who is helping us look for him. Now. They've launched
- 7:02Speaker 1: a public Facebook Facebook group called help find Devlentate, where updates, flyers,
- 7:08Speaker 1: and event announcements are shared. Their hope is that someone
- 7:13Speaker 1: somewhere knows something, that someone saw a face they didn't recognize,
- 7:19Speaker 1: or heard something that didn't feel right, that that someone
- 7:22Speaker 1: will speak up. Guys, I am begging you on behalf
- 7:27Speaker 1: of everyone. If you have information about the whereabouts of Devlentate,
- 7:34Speaker 1: please contact Iona County Sheriff's Office at six one six
- 7:39Speaker 1: five two seven five seven three seven. Let's keep sharing
- 7:45Speaker 1: Devlin's name let's keep looking. Guys, he matters. Let's share
- 7:51Speaker 1: his missing person flyers that will be posted on our
- 7:54Speaker 1: Facebook page. Guys, it's been you know, several weeks. Let's
- 7:59Speaker 1: help this family get answers. We don't want this to
- 8:01Speaker 1: turn into months or years. Now. If you know of
- 8:07Speaker 1: or have a loved one missing and you're interested in
- 8:10Speaker 1: having their story featured on an upcoming episode, or if
- 8:15Speaker 1: the family members want to join us for a live interview,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you can contact us by emailing Amy at tcwtmedia dot
- 8:23Speaker 1: com or me at Terry at tcwtmedia dot com. Or guys,
- 8:29Speaker 1: just send us a direct message on our Facebook page.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Me and Amy are in there all the time. Okay now.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Ian Clinton Goldie was a thirty nine year old man
- 8:42Speaker 1: known for his kindness and determination to turn his life around.
- 8:46Speaker 1: He had recently moved to Iron Mountain, Michigan, after spending
- 8:51Speaker 1: over twenty years. And I think it's a scannaba. I'm
- 8:57Speaker 1: going to just go with 'scannabo. Okay. With a new
- 9:00Speaker 1: apartment secured in hopes of reconnecting with family, Ian's life
- 9:05Speaker 1: appeared to be in an upward swing, but on January
- 9:09Speaker 1: twenty ninth, twenty twenty three, he vanished, leaving behind a
- 9:14Speaker 1: trail of unanswered questions and a heartbroken family still searching
- 9:21Speaker 1: for answers. Originally from Michigan's Garden Peninsula, Ian was close
- 9:28Speaker 1: with this family wise. He's described as friendly and social,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and he was working on rebuilding his life after some
- 9:36Speaker 1: difficult years. Just days before his disappearance, Ian left his
- 9:41Speaker 1: apartment on Norway Street in Iron Mountain. He checked into
- 9:45Speaker 1: the quality in in Escanaba using a false name, a
- 9:51Speaker 1: detail that would raise red flags later in the investigation.
- 9:56Speaker 1: He told his mother via text that he had an
- 9:58Speaker 1: issue with this bank after visiting the nearby Bark River Casino,
- 10:04Speaker 1: and he asked her to order him a pizza to
- 10:07Speaker 1: his hotel room now. On January twenty ninth, Ian texted
- 10:12Speaker 1: his teenage son, telling him he had a ride lined
- 10:16Speaker 1: up to visit family in the Garden Peninsula. Guys. That
- 10:20Speaker 1: was the last known contact Ian made. He never showed
- 10:24Speaker 1: up to meet his relatives, and when days passed with
- 10:28Speaker 1: no word from him, something that was completely out of
- 10:32Speaker 1: character for him, his family knew something was wrong.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Now.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Authorities launched an investigation, but leeds quickly dried up. Ian's
- 10:42Speaker 1: apartment was empty, his phone went dark after that final message. Now,
- 10:47Speaker 1: police departments from Iron Mountain, Escanaba, Delta County, and even
- 10:52Speaker 1: tribal authorities from Hannahville worked together on the case, chasing
- 10:58Speaker 1: down tips and checking surveillance footage. But guys, no new
- 11:03Speaker 1: evidence has surfaced, not a single confirm siding there's been
- 11:08Speaker 1: no activity on that bank account. Nothing. Guys. Friends did
- 11:13Speaker 1: note that Ian had seemed paranoid at times before he
- 11:17Speaker 1: went missing, but he was clearly trying to get us
- 11:21Speaker 1: life back on track. He wasn't running from anything. I mean,
- 11:25Speaker 1: as far as his loved one could tell, there was
- 11:28Speaker 1: no reason for him to disappear. He was planning a future.
- 11:34Speaker 1: His disappearance was sudden and deeply troubling. Now, Ian's family
- 11:40Speaker 1: continues to hold out hope. They've pleaded with the public
- 11:44Speaker 1: for information, organizing search efforts, and keeping his story alive.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Police have confirmed the case remains open and active, but
- 11:54Speaker 1: that they need new leads. Guys. I want to know
- 11:58Speaker 1: why he checked in under a different name. That leads
- 12:02Speaker 1: me to believe that he didn't want somebody to know something.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And I wish we had more information, but we couldn't
- 12:10Speaker 1: find anything. But anyone with information about Ian Clinton Goldie's disappearance.
- 12:17Speaker 1: We urge you to contact the Iron Mountain Police Department
- 12:21Speaker 1: at nine oh six seven seven four one two three four. Guys,
- 12:26Speaker 1: even that smallest tip could bring Ian home. Guys, someone
- 12:32Speaker 1: somewhere knows something. Okay, he didn't just vanish into thin air,
- 12:37Speaker 1: because that's not possible. Now, since we're spotlighting a recent
- 12:43Speaker 1: missing person case out of Michigan, we thought it was
- 12:46Speaker 1: it was the right time to revisit the case of
- 12:48Speaker 1: Amber Arnett, a story we first covered on Midday Missing
- 12:53Speaker 1: on October thirtieth, just last year. Now, ahead of today's show,
- 12:58Speaker 1: we reached out to Amber's mother for any updates or
- 13:01Speaker 1: new developments. Sadly, there was no new information to share.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Amber's case remains as uncertain as the day she disappeared.
- 13:11Speaker 1: There have been no confirmed sightings, no activity on her
- 13:15Speaker 1: social media or her financial accounts. Now, there have been
- 13:19Speaker 1: several tips that have come in in several searches. Guys,
- 13:24Speaker 1: Amber's absence has left a quiet, painful void in Lancing
- 13:29Speaker 1: and in the hearts of those who love her and
- 13:32Speaker 1: all of us here at Midday Missing. If you have
- 13:36Speaker 1: any information about what happened to Amber Arnett, Guys, even
- 13:41Speaker 1: something small, even if you think it's a rumor, just
- 13:44Speaker 1: please contact the Lancing Police Department at five one, seven,
- 13:49Speaker 1: four eight three or six zero zero. Now, you could
- 13:53Speaker 1: check out the link in the description of the show
- 13:56Speaker 1: to this episode that'll take you right to where we
- 13:59Speaker 1: covered Amber story. Okay, guys, it has been it has
- 14:06Speaker 1: been a heartbreak for them. Okay. Now today for Terry's tips,
- 14:13Speaker 1: I wanted to share some tips I've learned in search
- 14:18Speaker 1: and rescue training that I've done on how to search
- 14:21Speaker 1: for missing nonverbal and or autistic individuals, or even those
- 14:28Speaker 1: that maybe operate on a little bit lower level than
- 14:33Speaker 1: what their age says. So when a non verbal or
- 14:37Speaker 1: autistic person goes missing, it is critical to understand their
- 14:42Speaker 1: unique needs, behaviors, and potential responses. Okay. For nonverbal individuals,
- 14:51Speaker 1: you need to think about they may use alternative methods
- 14:54Speaker 1: of communication such as gestures, picture cards, are written notes. Okay,
- 15:00Speaker 1: so make sure you have those options ready if you
- 15:04Speaker 1: decide to ever join in on one of these individuals
- 15:09Speaker 1: being missed in Now, Guys, autistic individuals and individuals that
- 15:14Speaker 1: are operating at a lower age, they may respond differently
- 15:19Speaker 1: to their name being called or they may not respond
- 15:23Speaker 1: at all, so you need to avoid assuming they are
- 15:27Speaker 1: ignoring you, okay. Also, you need to use a calm,
- 15:32Speaker 1: non threatening tone. Loud or frantic calls may cost fear
- 15:38Speaker 1: or sensory overload. Guys, I have a cousin who has
- 15:44Speaker 1: down syndrome, and definitely when he has gone out on
- 15:49Speaker 1: his own and he's had to be searched for it,
- 15:52Speaker 1: he hides when people call his name really loud, Okay,
- 15:56Speaker 1: So that means you have to look a little bit
- 15:59Speaker 1: harder and behind things now if possible. You want to
- 16:04Speaker 1: find out, you know, are there familiar phrases or sounds
- 16:08Speaker 1: that they are known to respond to, such as a
- 16:11Speaker 1: favorite song, noise making toy, or a specific family member's boys,
- 16:17Speaker 1: I know we covered one case. I can't remember off
- 16:20Speaker 1: the top of my head what it is where they
- 16:22Speaker 1: drove through town playing the song that he liked on
- 16:28Speaker 1: over an audio loud system as they drove through town.
- 16:32Speaker 1: So something like that. Guys, Also remember they you know,
- 16:38Speaker 1: are avoiding those sensory experiences. It can also be bright lights,
- 16:42Speaker 1: not just loud noises or strong smells, so you need
- 16:46Speaker 1: to adjust reproach based on their sensory profile. Also avoid
- 16:53Speaker 1: sudden physical contact. A lot of individuals are sensitive to touch. Okay.
- 17:01Speaker 1: You also need to bring along items they are comforted by,
- 17:04Speaker 1: such as a favorite blanket, a sensory object, a toy.
- 17:09Speaker 1: If they have a favorite dog or cat, and you
- 17:12Speaker 1: can take it with you, take it with you. Guys.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Also ask for a photo. If you're out doing a search,
- 17:21Speaker 1: ask for a photo. Take it with you, not only
- 17:25Speaker 1: for accurate identification, but you can show it to them
- 17:29Speaker 1: and hold it and say, hey, I'm looking for you. Okay.
- 17:33Speaker 1: They may not understand what you're saying, but you can
- 17:36Speaker 1: show them that, and you can show them you know
- 17:38Speaker 1: that you love them, that you're there to help them. Now.
- 17:42Speaker 1: You also want to if you're the one assigning your
- 17:46Speaker 1: family member setting up these searches, sign volunteers with very
- 17:51Speaker 1: clear instructions. These are very special instructions. It's different. You
- 17:57Speaker 1: can't just go out with the megaphone or with a
- 18:00Speaker 1: loud mouth like me screaming. Okay. Also, if they have
- 18:05Speaker 1: a GPS tracker on a phone, or if you've put
- 18:08Speaker 1: one of those air tags in their backpack, you want
- 18:13Speaker 1: to use that. But you also want to share their
- 18:16Speaker 1: tracking device with search parties. Okay. Also gather as much
- 18:21Speaker 1: information from the family members caregivers about their favorite places, fears,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and triggers. Okay, it is important also, guys, find out
- 18:34Speaker 1: if it's the first time, if they've gone off. Guys.
- 18:37Speaker 1: This also relates to the elderly. Okay, see if they've
- 18:43Speaker 1: gone out before. Where, if they've gone where, if they've
- 18:47Speaker 1: been found before. My cousin, would we have a big
- 18:52Speaker 1: firefighter or family. His dad was a firefighter before he retired.
- 18:57Speaker 1: He would go to fire stations or if he heard
- 18:59Speaker 1: of fire he would try to follow them. Okay. Also,
- 19:04Speaker 1: do not overwhelm them with questions or loud noisest ones
- 19:09Speaker 1: they are found, don't try to grab them, put their
- 19:12Speaker 1: arms around them. Just sit there quietly with them. Use
- 19:16Speaker 1: your phone to call somebody that knows them personally. Un
- 19:20Speaker 1: Tell where you're at. Okay. Make sure you use calming words. Okay.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Doesn't mean you talk to them like they're a baby. Okay,
- 19:29Speaker 1: just calming words, familiar frail phrases if you know it.
- 19:33Speaker 1: But guys, also just your silence. If they are stressed,
- 19:38Speaker 1: show them the picture, do a heart sign and just
- 19:41Speaker 1: sit with them. Okay, just sit with them. Guys. When
- 19:47Speaker 1: individuals go missing that have these situations. Shunka. I see
- 19:53Speaker 1: that you take picts of Babe every day she goes
- 19:56Speaker 1: out alone. Thank you, because it's important. It is so
- 20:01Speaker 1: important because a lot of times they're hiding from the
- 20:05Speaker 1: search efforts. Okay, they think differently. They hear the loud noises,
- 20:11Speaker 1: they hear police sirens. You know, I will tell you,
- 20:15Speaker 1: and please, guys, don't shame me for this. But we
- 20:19Speaker 1: just found the greatest things for our dogs that I'm
- 20:23Speaker 1: getting one for my grandkids that they go on a
- 20:27Speaker 1: dog tag or like on a dog collar, but they
- 20:29Speaker 1: also attached to a backpack. You put the person's name,
- 20:33Speaker 1: but there's a special QR code, and if anyone scans
- 20:38Speaker 1: that QR code, the owner of that tag gets an
- 20:42Speaker 1: exact location of where they are. So it's out there.
- 20:48Speaker 1: It's called buddy tag. You can get them for humans.
- 20:52Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be just for your fur babies.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I like that if someone scans it, I find out
- 20:58Speaker 1: where they are. But also you can put in there
- 21:01Speaker 1: what name they go by. You can put a lot
- 21:04Speaker 1: of information in that would help somebody, so they maybe
- 21:08Speaker 1: have something like that. I don't know, but I just
- 21:11Speaker 1: know I'm ordering them for my littles, Okay, So it's
- 21:16Speaker 1: more challenging when they are in this special category. Okay,
- 21:21Speaker 1: And guys, don't think. I have heard people, and I'm
- 21:25Speaker 1: going to try not to cry. I've heard people say, well,
- 21:28Speaker 1: they do it all the time, that families should just
- 21:31Speaker 1: lock them up in a place they have special needs.
- 21:34Speaker 1: They just need to do that. No, guys, no guys, Okay, Now,
- 21:41Speaker 1: it's better for them to be home when they can.
- 21:43Speaker 1: And you just need to have compassion and empathy and
- 21:45Speaker 1: realize it happens.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 21:48Speaker 1: And if that's your thought process, keep it to yourself
- 21:50Speaker 1: and stay home. Okay, just stay home now. I want
- 21:55Speaker 1: to thank you all for joining me today. Now I
- 21:58Speaker 1: need to let y'all know we are planning on Wednesday
- 22:02Speaker 1: for midday missing. I'm letting you know ahead of time.
- 22:05Speaker 1: It will not be me. I believe it's going to
- 22:08Speaker 1: be Lama over from Couch Court at Lama who's going
- 22:11Speaker 1: to be covering for me. I am going to be
- 22:13Speaker 1: going to Houston because it's Monkey Butts band concert. So guys,
- 22:19Speaker 1: please send good vibes for me because sixth graders first
- 22:23Speaker 1: band concert sounds like my ears are going to hurt.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Maybe not okay, but guys, you can join our Facebook group.

- 23:17Speaker 1: we're gonna need help naming him now, guys, True Crime

- 23:39Speaker 1: are covering the case Inside the Mind of a Necrophile,
- 23:44Speaker 1: the chilling Confession of Karen Greenley. Guys, there will be
- 23:48Speaker 1: some role playing, there will be some stuff. Okay, Shanka,
- 23:53Speaker 1: thank you for lighting sage and putting out tobacco for
- 23:57Speaker 1: my journey. I will also be burning safe on me
- 24:01Speaker 1: and around me as well before I go. Guys, until
