- 0:34Speaker 2: Producer Poo is here. I can't wait till I can
- 0:36Speaker 2: clap again. I think about it every day.
- 0:37Speaker 9: Right.
- 0:38Speaker 1: When I hear you two clap off beat.
- 0:39Speaker 2: For the intro.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I think your ears are off. No, I think your
- 0:44Speaker 1: feet are off.
- 0:45Speaker 7: Oh.
- 0:45Speaker 1: But we'll talk about that later.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Off beat.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Hey, Candace, by the way, it's fine.
- 0:49Speaker 3: It's fine.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I've accepted it. It's okay.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Let's move on. Let's not fight this early in the morning.
- 0:54Speaker 2: It's 5.50.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Okay, it's exactly 6 o'clock now.
- 0:57Speaker 2: We took a picture. I took a video, obviously, of,
- 0:59Speaker 2: you know, posted on my Instagram of Pooh walking through
- 1:02Speaker 2: the mall.
- 1:02Speaker 1: When he was supposed to be walking backwards.
- 1:03Speaker 9: Yeah, Friday.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Never thinking he was going to get roasted for just walking.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I have literally maybe 30 messages of comments about Pooh walking.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:16Speaker 7: I mean.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I just.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I was so jealous that he could walk so slow
- 1:20Speaker 3: through the mall. No, because I just... If I'm in
- 1:24Speaker 3: the mall... No, if I'm in the mall, I'm like
- 1:26Speaker 3: A to B. Here, there, return, shop for this one thing,
- 1:29Speaker 3: get out, I gotta hurry, I'm on a schedule.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Not him. He's got Annie Ann's in his hand in
- 1:34Speaker 2: this video. He's got Annie Ann's and he's like... Like,
- 1:37Speaker 2: if I didn't know.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Him, I'd be like, oh, this guy's enjoying his retirement.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 1:42Speaker 3: You know what I mean? You know what I mean?
- 1:45Speaker 3: He's just got so much time.
- 1:50Speaker 7: You know what I mean?
- 1:51Speaker 3: Like he just has so much time. I can't breathe.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's too early for this. That might be, Candace, that
- 2:02Speaker 2: might be the funniest thing you've ever said.
- 2:04Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Who has that much time
- 2:06Speaker 3: to walk that slow?
- 2:08Speaker 2: I'm jealous.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I'm honestly jealous.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not jealous.
- 2:12Speaker 3: His son could run off and shop for himself and
- 2:14Speaker 3: he's just like, cool, I'm just chilling in the mall.
- 2:16Speaker 2: You got to see the video when you get a chance.
- 2:18Speaker 3: It's amazing, Pooh.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Just go look at it. It's on my story. I
- 2:21Speaker 2: think it's still up there. At Billy on the radio
- 2:23Speaker 2: on my Instagram. At Billy on the radio. Matter of fact.
- 2:26Speaker 2: At six, like, I don't know, like around 650, we're
- 2:29Speaker 2: going to do a whole mean messages about the messages
- 2:32Speaker 2: that I got. I know it's an entire.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I didn't mean to burn him that hard if we
- 2:36Speaker 3: had other mean messages coming.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Too late, Candace. Yeah, you just don't know.
- 2:40Speaker 7: No, that's endearing.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Call the ambulance and send him to the burn unit.
- 2:45Speaker 3: No, that's endearing.
- 2:46Speaker 2: No, it's, that is hysterical. Oh, look at this guy
- 2:50Speaker 2: enjoying his retirement with his Annie Anne's. That's Pooh's soundtrack
- 2:58Speaker 2: right there.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Oh, wait, the messages. We have the funniest listeners in
- 3:01Speaker 1: the world.
- 3:02Speaker 3: No, for sure.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know how they're so funny, but
- 3:05Speaker 1: the messages I got, I'll read them at 650.
- 3:06Speaker 2: What's up with you, Candace, besides just throwing daggers at Pooh?
- 3:10Speaker 3: I got free coffee this morning. I was going to
- 3:12Speaker 3: update you guys.
- 3:13Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about. You didn't tell me you
- 3:16Speaker 1: got free coffee.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Well, I haven't been to the gas station that I
- 3:19Speaker 3: used to go to to get coffee. Remember, I was
- 3:20Speaker 3: in like a habit for a while when we first
- 3:22Speaker 3: launched a show of going to the gas station to
- 3:24Speaker 3: get coffee. And I would always get the free coffee.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're that young boy that worked there. The
- 3:28Speaker 2: cutie cutie.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Okay, well, it was cutie. The cutie cutie. Yeah, well,
- 3:31Speaker 3: I take my own cup, right? Because you can get
- 3:33Speaker 3: a refill and it's like cheaper. Well, I just like
- 3:36Speaker 3: to have my own cup. It keeps it hot.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 3: But, yeah, anyways, but I went in there, and there were, like,
- 3:41Speaker 3: all these bugs going around the coffee machine, one of
- 3:44Speaker 3: the coffee machines. And it was just, like, not in
- 3:47Speaker 3: good shape like it used to be when the QTQT
- 3:50Speaker 3: worked there. And I just felt like, I don't know
- 3:53Speaker 3: if I could do this anymore. But I went through
- 3:54Speaker 3: with it. But the guy gave me free coffee.
- 3:56Speaker 8: He did.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Well, yeah, when you bring your own cup, they're just like,
- 3:59Speaker 3: why would I charge you?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I'm not going to notice one six to eight ounces
- 4:03Speaker 3: of coffee missing.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Well, I go to Racetrack every single morning dedicated to
- 4:07Speaker 2: the Racetrack gang.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Gang, gang. And I've gotten free coffee once.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Bring your own cup.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I'm going to try it.
- 4:15Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 1: That's what I'm going to do.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Try it for me and see.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'll try it tomorrow and see if he's just like.
- 4:18Speaker 3: It's not worth their time to charge you.
- 4:21Speaker 1: My Racetrack is not a, he's not a cutie though.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Well, do what you got to do.
- 4:25Speaker 2: And we don't have a, what rhymes with Racetrack where
- 4:27Speaker 2: I can call him, you know.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 4:29Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Anyway. All right. Well.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Big Beckett Racetrack. My Big Beckett Racetrack.
- 4:34Speaker 2: All right, Producer Poole, what's up with you besides just
- 4:36Speaker 2: getting flamed?
- 4:39Speaker 6: I got flamed yesterday. So I was killing time. My
- 4:41Speaker 6: son had a football game. We know you're killing time.
- 4:45Speaker 1: In Rockwall. So I go to Academy thinking nobody. You
- 4:49Speaker 1: had a baseball game? No, a football game. Oh, football.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Paul did.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Paul did. Oh, okay, gotcha.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Yeah, so I was at Academy in Rockwall.
- 4:56Speaker 6: And I didn't think anybody would notice me or anything
- 4:59Speaker 6: like that. This girl was like, hey, can I help you?
- 5:01Speaker 6: And I was like, yeah, I'm just trying to look.
- 5:03Speaker 6: I got to do a walk or something on Friday.
- 5:05Speaker 1: She's like, OK, cool.
- 5:07Speaker 6: And she started handing me compression socks and stuff like that.
- 5:10Speaker 7: What?
- 5:11Speaker 1: She goes, she goes. You should use these in this knee.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It's called a knee sock.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, really? She goes, yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 1: She goes, holds up her phone. Her name is Becca.
- 5:23Speaker 6: She goes, yeah, I saw you on Instagram.
- 5:25Speaker 1: And how you walk.
- 5:27Speaker 3: She did, too?
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah, she's so cute.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Oh, Becca.
- 5:31Speaker 3: So you need knee socks?
- 5:33Speaker 2: No, he needs two new legs. There ain't no way
- 5:36Speaker 2: he's making this corny dog walk on Friday. She said it.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Leaves a hole for your knee, you know, to breathe
- 5:41Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 5:42Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Because your knee got sleep apnea?
- 5:45Speaker 1: She was just like.
- 5:48Speaker 6: She said it'll help you have a comfortable walk. I
- 5:50Speaker 6: was like, she sniped me real quick.
- 5:54Speaker 1: She was like, I saw you on IT. I was like, oh, God.
- 5:57Speaker 1: We're good. I can't escape it. Well, thank you, Becca.
- 6:00Speaker 2: We got the corny dog walk on Friday, which is
- 6:02Speaker 2: exciting at the same time. We're all placing bets to
- 6:06Speaker 2: see if Pooh is going to make.
- 6:07Speaker 1: It and how far. I mean, last year he made
- 6:09Speaker 1: it eight miles. 8.7.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Last year, he hadn't been walking on his own, though. Like,
- 6:14Speaker 3: this year, he's been doing.
- 6:15Speaker 1: No, I mean, like, he's... Was I walking for him?
- 6:18Speaker 3: No, you know what I mean? Like, doing walks outside
- 6:21Speaker 3: of work, like, doing... That's true. Like, he's walking just, like,
- 6:23Speaker 3: on his own, like, of course. Like, he's been motivated
- 6:26Speaker 3: to walk.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Okay, well, we'll see what happens.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Take nightly walks to get ready.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I mean, we're two days away. It's too late to
- 6:31Speaker 2: start training now. No, I think I can.
- 6:34Speaker 3: But he's been taking walks.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been doing my walks.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Candace, he's been walking maybe a mile, and he's got
- 6:38Speaker 2: a hoodie on. You can tell it's not serious.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Well, I got a hoodie on because I'm sweating.
- 6:41Speaker 3: He's doing heat training.
- 6:42Speaker 1: We're going to be in a corny dog costume, so, hey, hoodie.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I need the heat. I'm preparing my body.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Maybe I won't make it then. Maybe he's training and
- 6:51Speaker 2: I won't.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 6:52Speaker 2: We know you.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You walk. When you walk, you walk.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Friday, we'll kick it off.
- 6:56Speaker 11: 102.9.
- 6:56Speaker 7: The new Mix 102.9.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 7:03Speaker 2: Kid in the morning.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9. All right.
- 7:07Speaker 2: That's State Fair Texas season pass. Your shot to win
- 7:10Speaker 2: coming up next. We do it on the 10s. So
- 7:11Speaker 2: make sure you check us out on the iHeartRadio app.
- 7:13Speaker 2: That's how you're going to win. So... Open that, have
- 7:16Speaker 2: us ready, all that good stuff. Candace Lopez, what is
- 7:18Speaker 2: going on?
- 7:18Speaker 3: Well, we broke so many records here this summer, but
- 7:21Speaker 3: the Atlantic hurricane season broke a record for not having
- 7:23Speaker 3: a single hurricane so far.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I noticed that and I was like, what does that
- 7:27Speaker 1: mean though?
- 7:27Speaker 3: Yeah, so hurricane season started in June, but nothing has happened.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Experts say... It's the first hurricane season since 1914 to
- 7:35Speaker 3: get this far into September without an actual hurricane. This
- 7:39Speaker 3: is because of El Nino, which has changed the wind
- 7:42Speaker 3: patterns around the world. So, yeah, I feel like we're
- 7:46Speaker 3: seeing more storms on the other side. Like Hawaii doesn't
- 7:49Speaker 3: normally get this many storms. But there is what they're
- 7:53Speaker 3: saying is to be one of the most dangerous storms
- 7:55Speaker 3: ever off the coast of Mexico on this Pacific side
- 7:58Speaker 3: right now.
- 7:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Oh, great.
- 8:00Speaker 1: So they're coming from the other way.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Yes.
- 8:01Speaker 7: All right.
- 8:02Speaker 3: That's what it looks like because the wind patterns have changed.
- 8:04Speaker 3: But everything just feels weird this summer.
- 8:07Speaker 2: It does.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It feels just extra.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, of course, it's hot here,
- 8:10Speaker 2: but no hurricanes for the first time in years is
- 8:13Speaker 2: kind of weird.
- 8:13Speaker 3: It's very weird.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Hot here again today. Of course, I think we're going
- 8:17Speaker 3: to get up to 96 next week, though. You were right.
- 8:19Speaker 3: There are some 80s. So just hang in there till
- 8:22Speaker 3: maybe Tuesday.
- 8:23Speaker 2: And I saw like rain multiple days, clouds multiple days.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I'm so excited for that. You try to explain that
- 8:30Speaker 2: to someone who doesn't deal with like heat 24 seven nonstop.
- 8:33Speaker 1: They're like, why would you want that?
- 8:34Speaker 10: Right.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Come to Texas and you'll figure it out quick.
- 8:37Speaker 3: A hundred percent guys. This is such a sweet story
- 8:40Speaker 3: out of the colony. So a GoFundMe was started to
- 8:43Speaker 3: support an 81 year old man. Who's was seen physically
- 8:46Speaker 3: struggling to deliver lost luggage to its owner and This
- 8:50Speaker 3: man's name is Donald Johnson. So he's been delivering lost
- 8:53Speaker 3: luggage for the last three years and he's doing it
- 8:55Speaker 3: to pay for his wife's medical bills. I know she's
- 8:59Speaker 3: in cancer treatment, but he's, you know, said this is
- 9:01Speaker 3: the only job that would hire him. He's put in
- 9:04Speaker 3: over 200,000 miles on his car doing this. But this
- 9:07Speaker 3: GoFundMe is going to allow him to retire and make,
- 9:11Speaker 3: you know, fixes to his vehicle, all thanks to a
- 9:15Speaker 3: woman who saw him struggling to get these two pieces
- 9:18Speaker 3: of luggage up the stairs to her apartment and said,
- 9:20Speaker 3: that's enough.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I saw the video and I was like, this is
- 9:23Speaker 2: the kind of stuff I want to see go viral. Yes.
- 9:25Speaker 2: And then I was shocked because it was like making
- 9:27Speaker 2: news all over the place, but it was happening here.
- 9:29Speaker 8: Right.
- 9:30Speaker 2: So good, good. See, this is where it gives.
- 9:32Speaker 1: You hope for the world.
- 9:33Speaker 3: It does. And you can make a change. That small
- 9:35Speaker 3: thing that she did to start this GoFundMe and share it,
- 9:39Speaker 3: super important and And then real quick, guys, Taylor Swift,
- 9:41Speaker 3: of course, made a huge announcement yesterday. Her new song
- 9:45Speaker 3: is coming this Friday. It's called Patient Zero. The song
- 9:49Speaker 3: is going to come out in three versions, a regular version, acoustic,
- 9:52Speaker 3: and then a piano version. She's even going to release
- 9:55Speaker 3: them on CD. Those are available on her website. But
- 9:58Speaker 3: everyone is starting to push for it. the Easter eggs
- 10:00Speaker 3: together now with all the zeros she was typing out.
- 10:05Speaker 3: There's a lot of fan theories about the song. One
- 10:07Speaker 3: that stood out to me was that I guess there
- 10:09Speaker 3: was a description of Taylor in the Los Angeles Times once.
- 10:13Speaker 3: And it described her as patient zero for emotional contagion,
- 10:17Speaker 3: of course, during the early days of her relationship with Travis.
- 10:20Speaker 3: But one other fan theory says this might be a
- 10:22Speaker 3: dark counterpart to the life of a showgirl.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Oh, I like it.
- 10:26Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I'm curious.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Let's get emo.
- 10:29Speaker 7: Emo.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Emo Taylor.
- 10:32Speaker 3: That would be good. Patient zero.
- 10:34Speaker 1: She's been there before, but not, you know, in a
- 10:36Speaker 1: different way.
- 10:37Speaker 3: She's just not in an emo phase, though.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I know.
- 10:39Speaker 3: So I can't see it happening.
- 10:40Speaker 2: It's not just a phase. not mom it was never
- 10:45Speaker 2: a phase mom all right.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I'm candace lopez those are your texas top stories.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Dirty little secret we'll do that at 7 30 today
- 10:53Speaker 2: it's mix 102.9 ability kid candace lopez is here producer
- 10:56Speaker 2: poo is here four pack of tickets to go see
- 10:59Speaker 2: cutting edge to go to experience that place which is
- 11:02Speaker 2: it's terrifying it's that time of the year though you
- 11:04Speaker 2: need to do something like this for sure it's fun
- 11:06Speaker 2: and you know what don't just waste your time going
- 11:08Speaker 2: to some other place that sucks Yeah. And trust me,
- 11:11Speaker 2: cutting edge is where it's at. It's in Fort Worth.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Who's this?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Yo, this is Emerson. What's up, Emerson? How are you?
- 11:16Speaker 11: I'm doing wonderful.
- 11:17Speaker 2: How are y'all?
- 11:17Speaker 10: Oh, good.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Guess what? Your caller won. Congratulations.
- 11:19Speaker 9: Hey, sweet.
- 11:22Speaker 2: There you go.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Where are you from, Emerson?
- 11:24Speaker 2: I'm from the colony. Oh, you are? We were just
- 11:26Speaker 2: talking about the colony. Yeah, I like it up there.
- 11:28Speaker 2: They're not too far away. That's where our boss lives,
- 11:30Speaker 2: by the way. So if you ever see her, make
- 11:32Speaker 2: sure you tell her to give us a raise, okay?
- 11:34Speaker 5: I definitely will.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Awesome, Emerson.
- 11:36Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 11:37Speaker 1: Going to work?
- 11:38Speaker 11: Going to work.
- 11:38Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 11:40Speaker 10: Supply chain management.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Oh, supply chain management. That sounds serious.
- 11:43Speaker 11: Wow.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Well, get that supply chain going. I don't know what
- 11:46Speaker 2: that entails, but it sounds serious, so don't work too hard.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And glad we could hook you up. We appreciate you listening, Emerson.
- 11:52Speaker 11: Love you guys. Thank you so much.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Love you too, man. Well, thank God that we don't
- 11:55Speaker 2: have real jobs. Sometimes I think about that. Like, I
- 11:57Speaker 2: hear that, and I'm like, that sounds so hard.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Right?
- 11:59Speaker 1: Like, what would I do if I didn't do it?
- 12:01Speaker 11: Super hard.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Like, oh, Billy's working supply chain. Your supply chain would
- 12:05Speaker 2: be so messed up. I don't know what that does,
- 12:08Speaker 2: but I would mess it up somehow. Like, me and Pooh. Warehouse.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I've done it before. And you see where that got you.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Who used to drive a high-low?
- 12:17Speaker 10: A what?
- 12:18Speaker 1: A what? One of those things. What are they called?
- 12:19Speaker 1: A cherry picker? Or a forklift, yeah. I thought it
- 12:22Speaker 1: was called a high-low.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I've never heard of that.
- 12:24Speaker 10: No.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Well, it gets high and low. What's it called?
- 12:28Speaker 3: You're wrong.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Forklift.
- 12:29Speaker 1: You used to drive a forklift?
- 12:31Speaker 10: Yes.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Stand-up forklift, sit-down forklift.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Can you imagine?
- 12:34Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Oh, you want every Amazon box broken. He's your guy.
- 12:39Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 2: All right, you ready for real or fake news? I'm
- 12:42Speaker 2: going to give you three headlines. You've got to tell
- 12:44Speaker 2: me which one is fake. And the news is crazy,
- 12:45Speaker 2: so sometimes it's hard to tell. Headline number one. Family
- 12:49Speaker 2: lets their kids play with haunted doll that cries acid tears.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Family lets their kids play with haunted doll that cries
- 13:00Speaker 2: acid tears.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Headline number one. That's already stressed Candace out.
- 13:05Speaker 9: Right.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Headline number two. Woman goes viral for wearing fake rotten
- 13:09Speaker 2: teeth at bars so men don't talk to her.
- 13:12Speaker 7: Oh.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Woman goes viral for wearing fake rotten teeth at bars
- 13:18Speaker 2: so men don't talk to her.
- 13:20Speaker 1: That is headline number two.
- 13:21Speaker 2: And headline number three, mom gives birth to baby boy
- 13:24Speaker 2: in KFC parking lot.
- 13:27Speaker 7: Aw.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I love how you two have completely different thoughts.
- 13:33Speaker 10: Right.
- 13:34Speaker 1: You go, aw, and Pooh goes.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Mm, chicken.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Mm.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Little colonel.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Mom gives birth to baby boy in KFC parking lot.
- 13:44Speaker 1: There you go.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You have three headlines. You can tell me which one
- 13:47Speaker 2: is the fake story. You know the rules. Candace, you
- 13:50Speaker 2: can go first. You can pick the fake one, or
- 13:52Speaker 2: you can pass it to La Poo Poo.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Well, I feel like 650 is going to be a
- 13:56Speaker 3: little difficult for Poo, so I'm going to throw you
- 13:58Speaker 3: a bone here, and you go first, Say Poo.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Let's go with that first story. Playing with a doll
- 14:06Speaker 1: that cries acid tears.
- 14:07Speaker 2: You think that's the fake story? I think it's fake.
- 14:09Speaker 1: All right, let's lock that in. It's locked in. Candace Lopez,
- 14:12Speaker 1: which one do you think is the fake story?
- 14:15Speaker 3: Lock me in for the fake rotten teeth girl.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah, the second one.
- 14:19Speaker 1: You think that's fake?
- 14:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Why do you think that's fake?
- 14:22Speaker 3: I just think there's other ways to, you know, keep
- 14:25Speaker 3: guys from talking to you.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I want to know those other ways.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Well, I'm sure there are.
- 14:28Speaker 1: All right, let's lock it in. Let's lock it in,
- 14:31Speaker 1: and the winner today is.
- 14:32Speaker 10: Candace!
- 14:42Speaker 2: All right.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Good job, Candace.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 14:44Speaker 2: She just wins. She stays winning.
- 14:46Speaker 11: Oh, come on.
- 14:46Speaker 1: What do you mean it gives Pooh the first try?
- 14:48Speaker 1: Settle down.
- 14:49Speaker 3: I was going to pick the haunted doll story.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I was too. But Pooh picked it. I was
- 14:53Speaker 1: going to pick that one. I was going to say
- 14:54Speaker 1: you were going to. You did. No, I was going
- 14:57Speaker 1: to pick the tea story, but I was like, yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 1: That was believable. God bless you. That was believable.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Holy crap. I'm glad we caught that while we were live.
- 15:05Speaker 2: I wish you wouldn't have.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I turned my mic off.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Please, next time you sneeze, Candace, do not mute your mic.
- 15:10Speaker 3: It's aggressive. It's too aggressive for the radio.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but people don't believe us.
- 15:13Speaker 2: But people don't believe us that you have the biggest
- 15:15Speaker 2: sneeze for the littlest human.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Big truck driver sneeze.
- 15:17Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Like, you would think you're
- 15:19Speaker 2: a 400-pound beer-drinking, overall-wearing farmer the way you sneeze.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Felt so good.
- 15:26Speaker 7: I know.
- 15:27Speaker 1: It's so loud.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah. People from the colony actually call out. All right,
- 15:32Speaker 2: you ready for the real stories? Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 1: The fake story.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Was the woman goes viral for wearing fake rotten teeth
- 15:36Speaker 2: at bars so men don't talk to her.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I mean, I thought that sounded real, you know?
- 15:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Like, you've never done anything to try to get, like, guys,
- 15:45Speaker 1: leave me alone?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Probably back in the day. I don't remember what that
- 15:48Speaker 3: would have been, though.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Remember we had a girl call up back in the day.
- 15:50Speaker 2: She said if she saw a guy that, you know,
- 15:52Speaker 2: was kind of staring at her like you could tell
- 15:53Speaker 2: when a guy's going.
- 15:54Speaker 1: To approach you at a club or bar, she would
- 15:56Speaker 1: start picking her nose.
- 15:57Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
- 15:59Speaker 2: If she didn't want them to talk to her, she'd
- 16:01Speaker 2: just start picking her. Kind of extreme, but. All right,
- 16:05Speaker 2: let's get to the real stories. Mom gives birth in
- 16:08Speaker 2: a KFC parking lot. A British couple welcomed their baby
- 16:12Speaker 2: boy in a KFC parking lot after realizing they were
- 16:14Speaker 2: not going to make it to the hospital in time.
- 16:16Speaker 2: 33-year-old Katie Murphy and her partner, Stephen Kirby, they had
- 16:20Speaker 2: already visited the hospital earlier that day, but the doctors
- 16:22Speaker 2: were like, nah, you're early, you're good, don't worry about it.
- 16:25Speaker 7: Okay?
- 16:25Speaker 2: Okay. Contraction started happening. She's like, something's going on. They
- 16:30Speaker 2: get in the car. They head to the hospital. They
- 16:32Speaker 2: get about halfway back and things were happening. Yeah. So
- 16:36Speaker 2: Stephen pulled over to the KFC parking lot where they
- 16:39Speaker 2: had a baby. Oh, they just had a full baby
- 16:42Speaker 2: in the parking lot of KFC. The paramedics got there,
- 16:45Speaker 2: but they were already. I mean, it's so weird because
- 16:48Speaker 2: I know you were in labor for like four days.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:50Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 16:51Speaker 2: And then this person just pops the baby out at
- 16:53Speaker 2: the KFC parking lot and was like, oh, my.
- 16:55Speaker 1: God, it's here.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Right? Must be nice.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yeah. So... Well, the funny part is to me, I
- 17:01Speaker 2: feel like if this happens to you, you should absolutely
- 17:04Speaker 2: get free KFC for a year.
- 17:05Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Because we're talking about KFC. KFC's getting free advertisement. You
- 17:09Speaker 2: start hearing it. You're like, I'm kind of hungry. I
- 17:11Speaker 2: could go for chicken.
- 17:12Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I could have a baby in the parking lot. You know,
- 17:15Speaker 1: whatever you're thinking.
- 17:15Speaker 3: It means free KFC.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And KFC said they're going to send her some merch
- 17:19Speaker 1: and some gift cards.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Okay.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Maybe they're good gift cards.
- 17:22Speaker 2: No, this baby, little Cody, the baby boy, should have
- 17:26Speaker 2: free KFC forever. Well, yeah. He was born in your
- 17:30Speaker 2: parking lot, Colonel Sanders.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Let's let him get his teeth first. Maybe they'll change
- 17:34Speaker 3: their mind.
- 17:34Speaker 8: You don't need teeth.
- 17:36Speaker 1: You don't need teeth to eat that mashed potato. No,
- 17:38Speaker 1: none of my relatives have teeth.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And they eat chicken all the time, fried chicken all
- 17:44Speaker 2: the time.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Come on, stop that.
- 17:47Speaker 2: And they nicknamed the little baby Colonel Cody. Oh, I
- 17:50Speaker 2: like that. Just to let you know, Colonel Cody is
- 17:52Speaker 2: on patrol. I wish I was born in a KFC
- 17:54Speaker 2: parking lot or a Whataburger parking lot or something.
- 17:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Weren't you born in somewhere funny?
- 18:00Speaker 10: No.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I wish I was, though.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I always think you were born in like town east
- 18:04Speaker 2: or something. In the food court.
- 18:07Speaker 12: All right.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Family lets their kids play with a haunted doll that
- 18:10Speaker 2: cries acid tears.
- 18:11Speaker 1: This is a real story, too.
- 18:13Speaker 3: What?
- 18:14Speaker 1: This is also a British family.
- 18:16Speaker 2: A British family with love for all things spookies opening
- 18:19Speaker 2: up an exhibit featuring a doll they claim has cried
- 18:22Speaker 2: acid tears and it's even lit itself on fire.
- 18:27Speaker 1: J.P.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Kenney's the husband. He's 36. His partner, Kimmy Jeffrey, 41,
- 18:32Speaker 2: have spent five years collecting supposedly haunted objects, including Annie,
- 18:36Speaker 2: a doll, their daughter.
- 18:39Speaker 1: OK, this makes a lot of sense. You know what
- 18:40Speaker 1: their daughter's names are?
- 18:41Speaker 12: What?
- 18:42Speaker 1: Snow and Pebble.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Come on. Snow's 13, Pebbles 10. Yeah, they play with
- 18:49Speaker 2: these haunted toys all the time. All the time. And
- 18:53Speaker 2: he says, there's no problem. There's some dark energy there,
- 18:56Speaker 2: but it's okay. The kids are used to it. I
- 18:59Speaker 2: wasn't even allowed to play with a Ouija board as
- 19:01Speaker 2: a kid because my grandma was so superstitious. Don't bring
- 19:04Speaker 2: that satanic game out here. Yeah, so I don't know.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Either way, I don't like that kind of stuff. No. No?
- 19:12Speaker 1: Do you?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Like light as a feather, stiff as a board.
- 19:15Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 19:16Speaker 3: Do you remember that, Pooh?
- 19:17Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 3: You didn't play that at slumber parties?
- 19:20Speaker 1: What was that?
- 19:20Speaker 3: I don't even know.
- 19:21Speaker 6: Yeah, light as a feather, stiff as a board. Everybody's
- 19:24Speaker 6: supposed to be able to lift you with their finger.
- 19:25Speaker 11: Right.
- 19:26Speaker 3: You would start to float.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Should we do it?
- 19:28Speaker 2: No.
- 19:28Speaker 7: No.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Turn the lights off.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 19:30Speaker 2: No, no, no, no.
- 19:32Speaker 1: No, turn the lights off.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Turn the lights off.
- 19:36Speaker 3: No?
- 19:37Speaker 10: No.
- 19:37Speaker 2: It has to be dark and quiet. We played that
- 19:39Speaker 2: one game that was in the mirror when you were
- 19:41Speaker 2: a kid. Oh, yes.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Did you ever play that game?
- 19:43Speaker 2: Candyman? I don't know. What was it? No. No, it
- 19:47Speaker 2: was something else. And you'd say something in the mirror
- 19:48Speaker 2: and see if somebody showed up.
- 19:50Speaker 7: Yes.
- 19:50Speaker 1: It was either Candyman or Bloody Mary.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I think that was it.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Well, the first time I did it, I literally ran
- 19:56Speaker 2: out and hit my head on the door. I didn't
- 20:00Speaker 2: see anything. I just got scared.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 20:04Speaker 2: I hit my head on the door.
- 20:05Speaker 3: So there you go.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Real or fake news? Fake news. I'm so excited. We're
- 20:10Speaker 2: just a few days away from our corny dog walk.
- 20:12Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candice Lopez. Producer Poo is here.
- 20:17Speaker 2: I mean, last year kind of started as a joke
- 20:18Speaker 2: where we were like, oh, I'm just going to walk
- 20:20Speaker 2: to the State Fair of Texas first day in a
- 20:22Speaker 2: corny dog outfit. It's going to be silly. It's going
- 20:24Speaker 2: to be stupid. And it turned out to be one
- 20:25Speaker 2: of the best things we've done in a long time
- 20:28Speaker 2: because it was so much fun. The entire way down there,
- 20:30Speaker 2: I met like 500, 600 listeners.
- 20:32Speaker 3: It was awesome.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Gave away tickets. I mean, gave away hundreds of tickets
- 20:36Speaker 1: to the fair.
- 20:37Speaker 3: We had to ask the fair for more tickets.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Yeah, we had to ask the fair for more tickets.
- 20:41Speaker 2: It was just so awesome. So we're doing it again
- 20:43Speaker 2: this year. We'll kick it off Friday morning. So find
- 20:46Speaker 2: us on the walk. Get a T-shirt if you want
- 20:47Speaker 2: to help support all the awesome stuff that State Fair
- 20:50Speaker 2: Texas does, all their nonprofit stuff, which is great. Do it.
- 20:54Speaker 2: The link is it. our Instagram, at Mix1029FM. Well, this
- 20:59Speaker 2: all started, speaking of walking, with Pooh's walk. And Pooh
- 21:05Speaker 2: and I obviously have been friends. We all have been
- 21:07Speaker 2: friends for decades. So we don't even think about his
- 21:10Speaker 2: walk that much.
- 21:11Speaker 3: No.
- 21:11Speaker 2: We're just used to it.
- 21:12Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 21:13Speaker 2: It's normal. It's like seeing one of your friends every day.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You don't really pay attention to that weird thing they do.
- 21:19Speaker 2: But then I posted him walking through the Galleria on
- 21:23Speaker 2: his Instagram on Long story of why I did it,
- 21:26Speaker 2: doesn't matter.
- 21:27Speaker 1: People are fascinated by the way Pooh walks.
- 21:29Speaker 7: Right.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I don't know if I'd use the word fascinated, actually. Intrigued? No,
- 21:34Speaker 1: more intrigued, maybe appalled, maybe. Oh, appalled.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Appalled.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Shocked. Shocked, yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Taken aback.
- 21:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Taken aback.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Alarmed?
- 21:47Speaker 1: It's definitely alarmed. It's definitely a waddle.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Candace Lopez said the funniest thing I've ever heard her
- 21:53Speaker 2: say in my entire life earlier. She said Pooh walking
- 21:56Speaker 2: through the mall with his Annie-Anne's.
- 21:58Speaker 1: If you saw him, you would think what?
- 22:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that he was just enjoying his retirement. He's just
- 22:05Speaker 3: walking so slow, not a care in the world, just plenty.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Of time on his hands. Yeah.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Okay. Should I read some of these messages I got?
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah. And if you want to go see his walk
- 22:17Speaker 2: at Billy on the radio. It's on my story, at
- 22:19Speaker 2: Billy on the radio, on Instagram. I think it's still
- 22:21Speaker 2: up there. It should be. Either way.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Amanda sent me one first thing this morning that cracked
- 22:26Speaker 1: me up.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Okay. She goes, Pooh walking forward is the least of
- 22:31Speaker 2: y'all's problems. She said, why does Pooh waddle like he's
- 22:36Speaker 2: 20 months pregnant? Wow.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Baby on board, girl.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Thank you, Amanda. That's true.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:48Speaker 2: He definitely does waddle like he's expecting a little one.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Let me get you some of the other ones. This
- 22:55Speaker 2: guy said, Kevin, shout out to Kevin. Why is Pooh
- 22:59Speaker 2: walking like he's wearing invisible flippers?
- 23:05Speaker 9: He's not wrong.
- 23:06Speaker 2: He's not wrong. You know when you have flippers on
- 23:10Speaker 2: and you're trying to get in the pool?
- 23:12Speaker 3: Yeah, you spread your legs wide and you just kind
- 23:14Speaker 3: of like put your feet directly down on the ground.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Flat.
- 23:18Speaker 2: That's the best description ever.
- 23:21Speaker 3: It really is.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Because his legs are not that long, but they're so
- 23:25Speaker 2: far apart. Right. All right, let's get to the next message.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Bro walks like he's permanently getting off a horse.
- 23:33Speaker 11: Oh!
- 23:36Speaker 3: Wow.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Thank you, Rick, who sent that.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, Carlos, who always sends us messages.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, he sends those heaters.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Carlos comes after me all the time.
- 23:46Speaker 2: He comes after all of us.
- 23:47Speaker 10: Yeah, he does.
- 23:48Speaker 2: He put, Carlos said, wow, his feet are headed east
- 23:52Speaker 2: and west, but somehow he's going north.
- 23:58Speaker 7: Oh.
- 23:58Speaker 1: It's so funny. Oh, okay.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Let me read you another one.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:07Speaker 2: He doesn't walk into a room. He penguins into.
- 24:13Speaker 1: It.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Someone else said, how come his shoes have never once
- 24:17Speaker 2: looked each other in the eye? Denise said this. Please
- 24:26Speaker 2: tell Pooh COVID is over.
- 24:28Speaker 10: What?
- 24:29Speaker 2: Yeah. I go, okay. She goes, Because his feet are
- 24:32Speaker 2: still socially distancing.
- 24:37Speaker 7: Wow.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I can't.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Someone else said, why does he walk like the floor
- 24:46Speaker 2: is covered with Legos and he's trying not to commit?
- 24:53Speaker 3: Just some soft stuff.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Let me go over here. And then one over here.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Oh, my God. His left foot, someone else said his
- 25:03Speaker 2: left foot is going, I'm going this way.
- 25:06Speaker 1: His right foot said, me too, and neither meant forward.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Someone said when he walks, you don't need a hallway.
- 25:20Speaker 2: You need a shipping lane.
- 25:22Speaker 1: What?
- 25:25Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 25:27Speaker 1: Because his feet are so.
- 25:30Speaker 6: They're so far apart.
- 25:32Speaker 2: He's taking up a lot of space, Candace. Okay. Oh,
- 25:36Speaker 2: my God. Okay. Oh, I can't. Let me get to
- 25:40Speaker 2: one more.
- 25:42Speaker 11: Oh, God.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 25:43Speaker 1: No, here's another one about horses.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Everyone says it looks like he just got off a horse.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I don't know why it is like that. Pooh, why
- 25:51Speaker 2: do you walk that way? I've just always been slew-footed.
- 25:54Speaker 2: What is it?
- 25:54Speaker 1: Slew-footed.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I've never heard of that.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Slew-footed?
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what my aunt always told me.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Slew? Slew.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Slew?
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, slew. Slew-footed? Yeah, slew-footed. Slew-footed?
- 26:06Speaker 11: Yeah.

- 26:30Speaker 2: your presets. Candice Lopez, what's up?
- 26:32Speaker 3: Well, I just played Ella Langley. She has done it officially.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Choose in Texas. Now the longest running number one song
- 26:37Speaker 3: on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with 23 weeks.
- 26:42Speaker 2: In history.
- 26:43Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 26:44Speaker 2: The biggest song, one of the biggest songs in music history.
- 26:46Speaker 2: And I argued with so many people that it was
- 26:48Speaker 2: going to be big. So many people.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I'm on my victory tour right now.
- 26:52Speaker 7: Good.
- 26:52Speaker 3: You should be.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Mariah Carey, All I Want for Christmas is You
- 26:56Speaker 3: drops to 20 with its 22 weeks. Ella posted a
- 26:59Speaker 3: video thanking fans saying this song has changed her life
- 27:02Speaker 3: and the lives of the writers of the song. Miranda Lambert,
- 27:06Speaker 3: also a co-writer and producer on it. She said it
- 27:08Speaker 3: was not on her bingo card for this song to
- 27:10Speaker 3: take over the world. But look at it go.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Yeah, they said they were in the studio. I watched
- 27:14Speaker 2: an interview and they were in the studio and they
- 27:15Speaker 2: all thought, yeah, I mean, it's cool.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it.
- 27:18Speaker 1: They were like, oh, never thinking it was going to
- 27:19Speaker 1: be one of the biggest songs ever.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Wild, wild. Yeah, guys, the GOAT and Texas girl Simone
- 27:24Speaker 3: Biles posted a TikTok revealing her home in Chicago was
- 27:28Speaker 3: recently broken into. She says they stole her car, which
- 27:32Speaker 3: was later recovered. But she said the things that happened
- 27:34Speaker 3: to her are absolute insanity. in her life. And she
- 27:38Speaker 3: actually joked that she needs a reality show, which I
- 27:40Speaker 3: would actually watch. I'm such a fan of Simone.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you love her.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I do. I guess she and her husband have
- 27:46Speaker 3: since gotten Doberman. They say, well, maybe help with security
- 27:50Speaker 3: and things like that in the home. But yeah, I
- 27:52Speaker 3: totally watch a reality show.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Get a security guard for her. Yeah, get security. Why
- 27:57Speaker 2: do these.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Celebrities spend all this money, but they won't get proper security?
- 28:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll never understand that.
- 28:03Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 2: She's married to the football player, right? Or at least
- 28:06Speaker 2: dating them. I don't know.
- 28:06Speaker 3: No, they're married. Yeah, for sure.
- 28:08Speaker 2: For sure.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Guys, this is exciting news. Wendy's emo album is out today.
- 28:13Speaker 3: And I'm talking about Wendy's the restaurant. Okay.
- 28:16Speaker 1: They dropped an album.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Yes, so they were teasing this online. They posted this
- 28:21Speaker 3: picture of Wendy with these side swoopy bangs, like emo bangs,
- 28:25Speaker 3: covering one of her eyes, teasing the date today. It's 9-23.
- 28:29Speaker 3: There are six songs on the album. We have a
- 28:33Speaker 3: clip of one. Which one do you want to play?
- 28:35Speaker 7: Do you remember?
- 28:36Speaker 3: Is it the Fry one?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to play this one, the Fry one.
- 28:38Speaker 2: What's it called?
- 28:39Speaker 3: Okay, so the song is called She Said She Didn't
- 28:41Speaker 3: Want Fries, She Lied.
- 28:43Speaker 7: Okay.
- 28:45Speaker 2: She did, though.
- 28:46Speaker 7: Oh, always.
- 28:47Speaker 2: That's so true.
- 28:47Speaker 3: She always wants fries.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Play a clip of it.
- 28:49Speaker 7: Yes!
- 29:00Speaker 1: This is good.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I'm not mad at that.
- 29:04Speaker 3: No, I enjoy that. Other songs on the album are
- 29:07Speaker 3: The Best Combo Meal, On the Worst Night of My Life.
- 29:11Speaker 3: There's one called It's Not a Phase, It's a Ten Piece.
- 29:14Speaker 2: That's right. whoever does wendy's marketing is.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Genius oh genius the one i missed the sunroom oh
- 29:21Speaker 3: i'm looking forward.
- 29:22Speaker 2: To that see somebody came out with a sunroom song
- 29:25Speaker 2: listen to this but this isn't the one on the
- 29:27Speaker 2: album this is just some random like parody.
- 29:29Speaker 12: Yeah looks were shared words were spoken sun was strong
- 29:34Speaker 12: fries were golden always fresh never frozen felt alive but
- 29:39Speaker 12: now i'm broken you don't know what you've got till
- 29:43Speaker 12: it's gone it's true frosty cup is empty and i'm.
- 29:49Speaker 7: Barely hanging on i miss.
- 29:52Speaker 3: The sunrise.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I love that.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I love it, too.
- 30:01Speaker 2: I do miss the sunroom. The Wendy's sunroom.
- 30:03Speaker 3: You said that last week.
- 30:04Speaker 2: I told you. Now people are making songs about it.
- 30:06Speaker 7: I know.
- 30:07Speaker 3: You were right.
- 30:07Speaker 2: It was not a phase. It's more than a phase.
- 30:10Speaker 3: It's a ten piece. All right. I'm Candace Lopez. Those
- 30:15Speaker 3: are your Texas Top Stories.
- 30:17Speaker 2: We got a dirty little secret. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid,
- 30:20Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. Dirty little secret coming up next.
- 30:23Speaker 2: We got the banger in a second, but this is
- 30:25Speaker 2: like a very special banger. Because, I mean, just recently
- 30:29Speaker 2: Pooh's on fire. Yeah. He can't be stopped. I mean,
- 30:33Speaker 2: everyone's talking about Pooh. They're talking about the way he walks.
- 30:35Speaker 2: They're talking about his waddle.
- 30:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 1: They're talking about him on social media. And now I'm
- 30:39Speaker 1: getting love letters about Pooh.
- 30:41Speaker 7: What?
- 30:41Speaker 2: What?
- 30:42Speaker 1: Full-blown love DM that I got.
- 30:45Speaker 3: To read you.
- 30:46Speaker 1: You want me to read it?
- 30:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I mean, hopefully he won't get embarrassed.
- 30:49Speaker 2: I don't know. Should I read it here? Yeah.
- 30:51Speaker 1: A love DM for me?
- 30:52Speaker 3: I mean, the sunrise is perfect for this.
- 30:54Speaker 2: The sunrise is perfect. The sunrise is over dicks.
- 30:57Speaker 7: What?
- 30:57Speaker 3: I didn't mean that. I just meant it's beautiful.
- 31:00Speaker 1: That's what's outside of our windows, Dick's Sporting Goods.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 31:04Speaker 1: So it's the beautiful sunrise over Dick's every morning.
- 31:07Speaker 9: Right.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I sit here and stare at Dick's, and I look
- 31:09Speaker 2: at the sunrise, and it's just beautiful.
- 31:11Speaker 3: It is amazing, Jay.
- 31:13Speaker 2: So given that, given the fact that this is a
- 31:15Speaker 2: very emotional DM, sometimes I just get my feels.
- 31:18Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 31:19Speaker 2: So let me read you this, and then I'll play
- 31:20Speaker 2: the banger because they're tied in together.
- 31:24Speaker 8: Oh, I love that.
- 31:25Speaker 12: I know.
- 31:26Speaker 2: This is from.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Shonda and Forney. Shonda and Forney.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Don't ruin it, Pooh.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Billy, leave Pooh's feet alone. Oh.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Right off the bat, I'm getting flamed.
- 31:38Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 2: I saw him the other day at Tom Thumb, but
- 31:42Speaker 2: I was too nervous to go up to him. I
- 31:45Speaker 2: have the biggest, all caps, I have the biggest crush
- 31:49Speaker 2: on him.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Yes.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Yes.
- 31:52Speaker 1: She says, I have the biggest crush on him. I'll
- 31:54Speaker 1: be so embarrassed if you tell him, but I also
- 31:56Speaker 1: kind of hope you do.
- 31:58Speaker 7: Oh.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Is he into white women?
- 32:03Speaker 3: Wow.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Is he into white women? Question mark, question mark.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Where is this going?
- 32:12Speaker 1: Who happened to be a little older. Oh, it's going nowhere.
- 32:17Speaker 2: To be a little older who happened to be a
- 32:18Speaker 2: little bit older and then she says i don't know
- 32:20Speaker 2: actually even how old poo is but i'm 63 okay
- 32:26Speaker 2: what was that nothing you okay yeah shauna's listening yeah
- 32:31Speaker 2: i know either way i love y'all and i really
- 32:34Speaker 2: love him after i saw him at tom thumb i
- 32:37Speaker 2: got back in my car and a certain song was
- 32:40Speaker 2: playing and it gave me the chills what song it
- 32:43Speaker 2: was special If there's any way you could play it
- 32:46Speaker 2: for a banger, I would owe you big. Please.
- 32:49Speaker 1: And dedicate it to Pooh.
- 32:53Speaker 3: What is it?
- 32:54Speaker 1: With love, Shonda and Forney.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Oh, wow. So here we go.
- 32:57Speaker 1: We're going to play it.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I mean, I'm looking at her right now on the DM.
- 33:01Speaker 1: I think she's cute.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 33:04Speaker 1: And I think you should absolutely meet her.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Go for it.
- 33:07Speaker 7: I don't know. Why not?
- 33:08Speaker 2: What's so funny?
- 33:09Speaker 3: She loves Tom Thumb. You love Tom Thumb. It's a
- 33:11Speaker 3: match made in Tom Thumb heaven.
- 33:14Speaker 2: But she got into her car, and this was playing.
- 33:17Speaker 2: This is something I normally probably wouldn't play, but you
- 33:19Speaker 2: know what? Okay.
- 33:21Speaker 1: I'm not going to stand in this.
- 33:22Speaker 3: There's no rules.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I'm not going to get in between love.
- 33:24Speaker 3: At this time of day.
- 33:25Speaker 10: No.
- 33:25Speaker 1: There's no rules on this show.
- 33:27Speaker 2: That's why we're a mess.
- 33:29Speaker 11: True.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Candace, give me a countdown.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Three, two, one.
- 33:33Speaker 1: From Shonda to Pooh.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Oh, I love this song.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Take me home tonight.
- 33:38Speaker 11: Oh, God.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Be my baby. Straight from Tom Thumb to my house.
- 33:45Speaker 3: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 33:48Speaker 3: Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I feel like we already had one Dirty Little Secret
- 33:54Speaker 2: from Shonda. Now we got another one.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Wow.
- 33:56Speaker 2: A lot going on this morning. It's Billy the Kid,
- 33:58Speaker 2: Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. I'm going to send you this DM, Pooh.
- 34:01Speaker 2: You and Shonda can talk because that just... I feel
- 34:03Speaker 2: like that's meant to be.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I'd love to see it.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I mean, I'm going to do a remix, a whole
- 34:07Speaker 1: take poo home tonight.
- 34:09Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Remix. All right, if you've got a confession, 833-787-1029. I
- 34:13Speaker 2: don't care what it is. It's time to confess. Dirty
- 34:16Speaker 2: Little Secret is on, and you got one.
- 34:18Speaker 8: No judgment, please, okay?
- 34:20Speaker 12: Okay.
- 34:21Speaker 10: All right, so I have this secret that I've never
- 34:23Speaker 10: told my friends, my family, not even my husband, because
- 34:28Speaker 10: it's so bizarre that I don't even know how to
- 34:30Speaker 10: explain it.
- 34:31Speaker 2: I love weird secrets. Okay.
- 34:36Speaker 10: I like to pretend that I'm rich and I like
- 34:39Speaker 10: to go to look at mansions.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:44Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I mean, I, I get like looking at mansions too.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I get, I mean, what do you mean? Like when
- 34:48Speaker 2: you go look at Matt, you pretend you're rich and
- 34:50Speaker 2: go look at mansions, like drive around.
- 34:51Speaker 1: And look at them.
- 34:52Speaker 10: No, like I, like I seek them out. Like I
- 34:55Speaker 10: look at the listings.
- 34:56Speaker 9: Right.
- 34:56Speaker 8: And I, I literally go to these mansions. Like, Twice
- 35:00Speaker 8: a month.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Like they're for sale.
- 35:01Speaker 4: I will go to the open houses.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Oh. Yes. Yep.
- 35:04Speaker 8: The ones that are for sale.
- 35:05Speaker 10: Yes.
- 35:05Speaker 2: So you're going to open houses and you're going to.
- 35:09Speaker 10: Yes.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Not like a drive-by in your head. Someday we'll live there.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Yeah, right. No.
- 35:16Speaker 3: I dress the part.
- 35:18Speaker 10: Like I will put on my shades, my best bag,
- 35:23Speaker 10: my clothes. Like, I go in, I go to these
- 35:26Speaker 10: open houses, to these multi-million dollar.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Homes or these estates. Really?
- 35:32Speaker 10: There's sometimes, yes, the ones over there in Highland Park
- 35:36Speaker 10: or South Lake. And I will go into character, guys.
- 35:41Speaker 10: I will make up, like, a fake life and everything
- 35:44Speaker 10: before I go. I have, like, I'm scripted when I
- 35:46Speaker 10: go in there, okay, guys?
- 35:48Speaker 2: Like, you have, like, a fake persona, a fake name
- 35:52Speaker 2: and everything?
- 35:52Speaker 8: One million percent.
- 35:54Speaker 10: I have a fake name. I have a fake career.
- 35:56Speaker 10: I have a fake family situation. I will go in
- 36:03Speaker 10: there with my imaginary, like I will talk about my
- 36:05Speaker 10: imaginary husband, like he's a surgeon.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Or yeah, we sold the company.
- 36:13Speaker 10: One time I told a realtor that we were relocating
- 36:15Speaker 10: from California because of my husband's job.
- 36:18Speaker 9: That's believable.
- 36:20Speaker 2: This is hysterical. And I'm wondering, so you go into
- 36:23Speaker 2: an open house, you all of a sudden you are
- 36:25Speaker 2: some highfalutin. Yeah.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Rich, you're walking around, you've got.
- 36:30Speaker 2: A fake personality.
- 36:31Speaker 8: I will get my nails done for this.
- 36:32Speaker 1: You'll get your nails done? Okay, so you're dressing up.
- 36:35Speaker 7: Yes.
- 36:36Speaker 10: Like, you can tell me I'm not rich.
- 36:38Speaker 8: You know, I literally go there, I dress and act
- 36:40Speaker 8: the part. One million percent.
- 36:42Speaker 1: All right.
- 36:43Speaker 10: And I will actually ask legitimate questions like, so, how
- 36:47Speaker 10: old is the roof?
- 36:47Speaker 3: Oh, would the owner.
- 36:50Speaker 9: Do a fair question?
- 36:52Speaker 4: No, I'm so legitimate with it.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Fair question.
- 36:56Speaker 10: I would say.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Would the owners consider leaving the wine refrigerators?
- 37:01Speaker 2: So you're getting into it.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Are there any foundation problems?
- 37:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 4: All of it.
- 37:08Speaker 2: All of it.
- 37:09Speaker 4: But meanwhile, my bank account is like, girl, get the
- 37:11Speaker 4: F out of there.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Wow.
- 37:17Speaker 2: So what does it do to you? You've got to
- 37:19Speaker 2: do this for a reason. I mean, obviously, you like it.
- 37:21Speaker 2: You get a kick out of it. But, like, what
- 37:22Speaker 2: is it? Does it do something to you that you just, like,
- 37:25Speaker 2: fulfill something?
- 37:26Speaker 10: Yes. Besides giving me an adrenaline rush, I'm like, I mean,
- 37:32Speaker 10: I'm playing the role. But it's not that, like, I'm
- 37:34Speaker 10: unhappy with my real life.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:36Speaker 10: I have a beautiful home. I have a great husband,
- 37:38Speaker 10: a great family, all the good stuff. And it's not
- 37:41Speaker 10: like I'm trying to escape from like a.
- 37:42Speaker 9: Horrible situation or anything like that.
- 37:44Speaker 8: It's just that.
- 37:45Speaker 13: Besides the rest, I just love these houses and I
- 37:48Speaker 13: love imagining my life like this.
- 37:52Speaker 2: It's a lot to go through and to go and
- 37:56Speaker 2: you actually got to physically be there. And nobody knows
- 37:59Speaker 2: you do it because, I mean, I could see how
- 38:01Speaker 2: somebody would think this is weird. I want to talk
- 38:02Speaker 2: to Dr. Chris, who always listens to us, and see
- 38:04Speaker 2: what he would say about this.
- 38:05Speaker 3: I mean, I like going to open houses, too. My
- 38:08Speaker 3: husband does more than I. Like, houses that really don't
- 38:11Speaker 3: make sense for us.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Really?
- 38:13Speaker 3: Yeah, just look at the design. I don't. Catch a vibe.
- 38:16Speaker 3: I didn't like it at first either, but he was like,
- 38:18Speaker 3: let's just go look.
- 38:19Speaker 1: You know, if I can't afford this, don't tease me
- 38:21Speaker 1: with it.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. You know, but it's also manifest.
- 38:24Speaker 1: I like going because of the food. Some of the houses,
- 38:27Speaker 1: they have.
- 38:28Speaker 2: A good charcuterie board.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Little mimosas. It just depends. It's free food.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Well, I mean, good for you. So do you feel
- 38:41Speaker 2: bad though? I would also, I'm a real big person
- 38:43Speaker 2: with like real big, I'm wasting people's time. I would
- 38:46Speaker 2: feel bad about wasting anybody's time. Like the real estate agent.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I would feel bad, you know?
- 38:51Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:53Speaker 10: I do feel bad about that because like, sometimes I'll
- 38:56Speaker 10: go back for a second showing.
- 38:59Speaker 12: Oh, wow.
- 38:59Speaker 3: You weren't wasting time until then. The open house, they're
- 39:02Speaker 3: doing anyways.
- 39:04Speaker 10: Right.
- 39:04Speaker 3: No, you put your email address down.
- 39:06Speaker 10: Oh, no.
- 39:07Speaker 4: I'm going to go back.
- 39:08Speaker 2: RichGirl69 at gmail.com.
- 39:14Speaker 3: You don't feel guilty about that? Like bringing an agent
- 39:17Speaker 3: out for a showing that you know is not going anywhere?
- 39:21Speaker 8: No, I can go with it. I can go with it.
- 39:23Speaker 10: Okay.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Well, I mean, it could be worse. You could have
- 39:27Speaker 2: worse addictions. Yeah.
- 39:29Speaker 1: This is a strange.
- 39:30Speaker 7: One, though.
- 39:30Speaker 1: We've had a lot of weird ones.
- 39:32Speaker 2: But, I mean, I don't know.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Candace said she doesn't.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Well, not like this. I'm going to a $ 6 million house. But,
- 39:39Speaker 3: I mean, can't you just watch, like, Million Dollar Listing
- 39:41Speaker 3: or whatever on Netflix or one of those shows to
- 39:42Speaker 3: get your fix?
- 39:43Speaker 2: No, she can't dress up for that.
- 39:44Speaker 4: No, not the same.
- 39:45Speaker 11: True.
- 39:46Speaker 4: No you gotta this is everything it's.
- 39:49Speaker 2: An interesting hobby for sure but i'm glad you confessed
- 39:52Speaker 2: it and thank you and you know let us know
- 39:54Speaker 2: keep us in the loop on this i'm gonna see
- 39:56Speaker 2: if our friend who's a therapist and i'm gonna see
- 39:58Speaker 2: what he has to say about it maybe he'll analyze
- 40:00Speaker 2: hell he's probably already analyzing you as he listens all
- 40:05Speaker 2: right well good luck and go look at some houses
- 40:07Speaker 2: girl i will thank you thank you guys it's gotta
- 40:10Speaker 2: be a reason you're doing this yeah that's fulfilling something.
- 40:16Speaker 11: It's time for Candace Court.
- 40:19Speaker 5: It gets settled here with Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 40:22Speaker 3: All rise.
- 40:23Speaker 2: For the Honorable Judge Candace Lopez, here she is this morning.
- 40:26Speaker 2: She is, well, this time of the year, you don't
- 40:28Speaker 2: use a gavel, you use a corny dog. Yeah.
- 40:30Speaker 1: So either way, it gets the job done.
- 40:32Speaker 3: It's not as loud as a gavel.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't really hear it. It just kind of
- 40:33Speaker 1: flops on the bench.
- 40:35Speaker 3: It's here, though.
- 40:36Speaker 2: But it is. Either way, she can solve your problems
- 40:37Speaker 2: at Candace on air, at Candace on air.
- 40:39Speaker 1: By the way, we've got to say hi to Dr.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Chris, who we've got to talk to a little bit
- 40:42Speaker 2: later on because he's so smart. He just told us
- 40:44Speaker 2: exactly what's going on with that girl with Dirty Little Secret.
- 40:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:47Speaker 2: And it makes so much sense. I'm going to get
- 40:49Speaker 2: him on the phone a little bit later. But Dr. Chris,
- 40:51Speaker 2: you're the best. Thank you. All right, let's get court
- 40:52Speaker 2: in session.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Are you ready, Candace?
- 40:54Speaker 10: Yep.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Hey, Candace, I would love it if you could talk
- 40:57Speaker 2: about this for Candace Court. We have some friend drama
- 40:59Speaker 2: in my group. Over the weekend, my friend had a
- 41:02Speaker 2: big milestone birthday party, and she was irritated because not
- 41:06Speaker 2: of all of our friends RSVP'd properly. It was kind
- 41:10Speaker 2: of formal. She had catering and stuff. Well, one of
- 41:12Speaker 2: our friends showed up with their significant other, and she
- 41:16Speaker 2: made it a big deal. Like, quote, I guess I'm
- 41:20Speaker 2: going to let you come in, but you didn't RSVP.
- 41:23Speaker 2: And then she said, oh, I didn't know you were coming.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I guess there's enough food. To the point where they
- 41:31Speaker 2: were feeling really uncomfortable, and they ended up leaving. Oh, no.
- 41:36Speaker 2: A few of us noticed this, and she kept making
- 41:38Speaker 2: comments like, I don't know. Hopefully we don't run out
- 41:41Speaker 2: of food. Do you have enough? Do you have enough?
- 41:43Speaker 2: Is everybody good? Like making it a big deal. It
- 41:46Speaker 2: caused tension already this week. So now I'm wondering if
- 41:49Speaker 2: someone is an RSVP, do you turn them away from
- 41:52Speaker 2: a party?
- 41:53Speaker 11: Huh?
- 41:54Speaker 2: Oh, I like this one. Okay.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Candace, you're pretty formal and you're, I don't know, you're very.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Your etiquette is good.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Okay, thanks. Well, I try. I'm a recovering people pleaser.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I should talk to Dr. Chris about that.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Yes, you should.
- 42:07Speaker 3: But also, who doesn't order extra food? You know, just
- 42:10Speaker 3: in case. Every time I throw a party, I'm like, perfect.
- 42:14Speaker 3: Just in case someone shows up extra or somebody rolls through. Yeah,
- 42:17Speaker 3: I would always have extra.
- 42:19Speaker 2: You're going to have extra food, but, you know, I mean,
- 42:21Speaker 2: what if one person does this and then another person
- 42:24Speaker 2: does this? Then all of a sudden you have four
- 42:25Speaker 2: or five people that RSVP'd or they did an RSVP,
- 42:28Speaker 2: then they show up at your party.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's incredibly rude.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 3: I mean, I don't like it. I don't like the
- 42:33Speaker 3: fact that you couldn't commit to my milestone birthday party.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Like, yeah, no, this is a big deal. The whole
- 42:38Speaker 2: point of an RSVP. Is to get back to that
- 42:42Speaker 2: person so they can plan accordingly.
- 42:43Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 42:44Speaker 1: That's why you do it far in advance.
- 42:45Speaker 2: If you're getting like, let's say you're getting barbecue or something.
- 42:48Speaker 1: That's not cheap.
- 42:49Speaker 10: Right.
- 42:49Speaker 2: You got to get enough barbecue for everybody, but you're
- 42:51Speaker 2: not going to buy a ton extra.
- 42:52Speaker 7: No.
- 42:53Speaker 1: You're going to get some pounds.
- 42:55Speaker 2: And plus, if I- This is coming from the cheapest
- 42:57Speaker 2: guy in the room.
- 42:57Speaker 1: I'm just saying. I mean, get a few extra pounds
- 42:59Speaker 1: for your boy. Yeah, because I'm known to forget.
- 43:02Speaker 6: But if I reach out to you during the week
- 43:04Speaker 6: leading up to your party, if I say, hey, what's up? Oh, yeah,
- 43:07Speaker 6: I'm going to see you there Saturday or whatever. That's
- 43:09Speaker 6: me telling you I'm coming.
- 43:11Speaker 3: No, that's not.
- 43:12Speaker 7: Why?
- 43:13Speaker 3: So you feel like if they sent out like an
- 43:15Speaker 3: e-vite or a digital thing where you click, you're coming, whatever, da-da-da,
- 43:19Speaker 3: you don't do that and you tell them during the
- 43:20Speaker 3: week that you're coming?
- 43:21Speaker 1: No, if I see you in the hallway, hey, Billy,
- 43:23Speaker 1: you still having that party?
- 43:24Speaker 2: No. I'm coming.
- 43:27Speaker 7: Why?
- 43:27Speaker 2: No, that's not RSVPing. If I send out an RSVP,
- 43:31Speaker 2: I need you to RSVP back to me the way
- 43:33Speaker 2: I asked you to in the RSVP.
- 43:35Speaker 3: You should. Yeah, but stuff like that gets lost. Like
- 43:38Speaker 3: so many invites, emails.
- 43:40Speaker 2: And so does your food when you show up. And
- 43:42Speaker 2: your food is lost.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Like, I get it. You're upset because you're going to
- 43:46Speaker 3: Costco on Tuesday and I need the RSVP by Monday.
- 43:49Speaker 11: Right. Yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 3: I get that. But.
- 43:52Speaker 2: No, but that's what Pooh does. Pooh will be like, oh, no. Well,
- 43:55Speaker 2: I didn't RSVP, but I'm still going to show up. Yeah,
- 43:57Speaker 2: but I gave you a verbal. And then I'm going
- 43:59Speaker 2: to bring somebody. No, you don't. And that's not the
- 44:02Speaker 2: same anyway. You can't just give somebody a, what do
- 44:05Speaker 2: you mean a verbal?
- 44:06Speaker 6: If I tell you, if I see you like at
- 44:08Speaker 6: work and I'll be like, hey, I'm still coming to
- 44:10Speaker 6: your cowboy thing or whatever, whatever party you're having.
- 44:12Speaker 2: I'm still coming. That's not what you do. I've known you.
- 44:15Speaker 1: For 30 years.
- 44:15Speaker 2: You don't do that.
- 44:16Speaker 3: But also, like say this is your 40th birthday or something.
- 44:18Speaker 3: I want to know that you're coming. But I always,
- 44:20Speaker 3: when I throw parties, I keep a list on my
- 44:23Speaker 3: phone or whatever of everyone I've invited. And I keep a,
- 44:26Speaker 3: put who's RSVP'd, who's not coming, who's a baby, who
- 44:29Speaker 3: might have a kid with them.
- 44:30Speaker 14: Sure.
- 44:30Speaker 3: But I'm weird like that.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Well, that's not weird. That's planning accordingly. If it's a wedding,
- 44:35Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, if it's a wedding, you turn them away. No.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Oh, but they just want to celebrate your wedding with you.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Well, you could celebrate in the parking lot. You wouldn't
- 44:43Speaker 1: do that.
- 44:44Speaker 2: If you don't RSVP to a wedding, that is a
- 44:47Speaker 2: very specific event.
- 44:48Speaker 7: Well.
- 44:48Speaker 2: You can't just show up, but people do.
- 44:50Speaker 3: That's rude.
- 44:51Speaker 2: I was with Pooh when he showed up at a
- 44:52Speaker 2: wedding one time, and I RSVP'd, and he showed up,
- 44:56Speaker 2: and he never RSVP'd. It was a junior's wedding.
- 44:59Speaker 1: It was to junior?
- 45:00Speaker 3: You didn't RSVP.
- 45:01Speaker 1: To junior's wedding? No, he showed up. In Florida? I
- 45:05Speaker 1: told him I was coming, though. I said, hey, I'm going.
- 45:07Speaker 2: To be there.
- 45:08Speaker 1: No, but do you think Junior told his wife, Sherry?
- 45:11Speaker 2: No.
- 45:11Speaker 1: No, he didn't. But she wanted me to RSVP.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Well, of course, she paid money for the invites and
- 45:17Speaker 3: the little cards you're supposed to return.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so then Pooh shows up in Florida, nowhere to go,
- 45:23Speaker 2: no hotel.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Billy, where are you staying? Hey, don't worry about where
- 45:28Speaker 1: I'm staying. But I came to support my boy.
- 45:30Speaker 3: And that's what matters.
- 45:31Speaker 1: It's a memorable moment. I showed up. I showed up.
- 45:34Speaker 1: I would show up for you.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Was there a plate for you?
- 45:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I did eat.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Yeah, of course he ate.
- 45:39Speaker 1: I didn't take part in the bar, but I ate.
- 45:42Speaker 2: You didn't take part in the bar. That's all you did.
- 45:45Speaker 2: He was begging for drink tickets.
- 45:48Speaker 3: No.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Candace, trust me, this is years ago, and I still
- 45:52Speaker 2: remember clearly. They cut the bar off, and he was like, hey,
- 45:56Speaker 2: to the bartender, just slim me a little something.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Let me have a little Hennessy.
- 46:00Speaker 2: You know what?
- 46:01Speaker 1: It's fine if you want to come. If you don't
- 46:02Speaker 1: want to RSVP, you just can't eat.
- 46:04Speaker 3: How are you going to do me like that?
- 46:05Speaker 1: Why would you do that?
- 46:06Speaker 3: But also, if I'm hosting this thing, I'm not going
- 46:08Speaker 3: to let you not eat. Eat my steak or I'll
- 46:10Speaker 3: split my steak with you.
- 46:12Speaker 2: I would order extra.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I always order extra just in case.
- 46:15Speaker 2: That's what I would do. You've never had a party once.
- 46:17Speaker 1: I'm just saying, if I had a party.
- 46:20Speaker 2: Yeah, throw a.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Party so none of us can RSVP, but I'll show up.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Come on through.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I'll have the food.
- 46:26Speaker 6: I know y'all will show up because you know if
- 46:28Speaker 6: I cook, it's going to be on.
- 46:29Speaker 1: You've never had a party. We've never been to your home.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I can't have a party in my apartment.
- 46:32Speaker 7: Yes, you can.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Yes, you can. People do it all the time.
- 46:35Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with that. This is small.
- 46:36Speaker 2: You can rent the pool house or something. Oh, yeah,
- 46:40Speaker 2: I can.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Don't you have two pools at your place?
- 46:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I got three.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Oh, three pools?
- 46:43Speaker 10: Three pools.
- 46:44Speaker 2: My bad.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Surely we can have one.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Is that your new rapper name? Three pools.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Big flex.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Big flex.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Okay, Candace, what's the verdict?
- 46:52Speaker 3: Look, I would let this person in and eat, but
- 46:54Speaker 3: you're guilty of being, I'll let you.
- 46:56Speaker 7: Know, Larry.
- 46:56Speaker 3: Oh! Because you say that, and you don't let me know,
- 47:00Speaker 3: and that's not fair.
- 47:01Speaker 2: That is rude.
- 47:02Speaker 3: You're still coming in, but you're guilty.
- 47:03Speaker 2: You are guilty.
- 47:05Speaker 7: 102.9.
- 47:05Speaker 10: The new Mix 102.9.
- 47:06Speaker 7: Oh.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Are the mics on? It's Texas Top Stories on the
- 47:14Speaker 2: 10s with Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 47:16Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 47:18Speaker 2: I didn't realize the mic was on, Candace. Oh, you didn't? Yeah,
- 47:22Speaker 2: chance to get that season pass to the State Fair
- 47:24Speaker 2: of Texas. Our season pass. Get the iHeartRadio app ready.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Listen there.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Win there. We'll do it next on the 10s pretty
- 47:30Speaker 1: much every hour all day. Candace, what up?
- 47:32Speaker 3: Well, Dolly Parton's nephew and longtime head of security has
- 47:35Speaker 3: been fired from his role at Dolly's Properties. So this
- 47:38Speaker 3: is Brian Seaver, who actually announced her passing online as
- 47:42Speaker 3: the family's spokesperson. You remember that was the first official
- 47:45Speaker 3: video statement that came out. A new security team reportedly
- 47:48Speaker 3: took over security at Dolly's home in Nashville, her museum
- 47:52Speaker 3: and warehouse. But questions are being raised about the decision
- 47:55Speaker 3: that was carried out by her manager, allegedly as part
- 47:58Speaker 3: of her final wishes. Her nephew is calling this restraining
- 48:03Speaker 3: order against him a publicity stunt, but there are allegations
- 48:06Speaker 3: that say he sent terrorizing texts and threatened to destroy
- 48:09Speaker 3: the entire brand while he says it was rage talk
- 48:12Speaker 3: spoken in grief. But, yeah, these texts are kind of disturbing.
- 48:17Speaker 3: I know members of the staff, I guess, didn't even
- 48:20Speaker 3: want to come into work and now are requiring personal security.
- 48:23Speaker 1: What, are they fighting over money already?
- 48:24Speaker 3: Really an awful story to come less than a month
- 48:27Speaker 3: after her passing.
- 48:28Speaker 2: This is what happens when somebody dies with money. I mean,
- 48:31Speaker 2: they start fighting. Families break up. There's always drama.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Yeah, really sad. I'll keep you posted. Here's a really
- 48:37Speaker 3: sweet story, though, out of the colony, guys. A GoFundMe
- 48:40Speaker 3: was started there to support an 81-year-old man who was
- 48:44Speaker 3: seen physically struggling to deliver lost luggage to its owner.
- 48:47Speaker 3: So a woman caught this man on camera. His name
- 48:51Speaker 3: is Donald Johnson. He's been delivering lost luggage for the
- 48:53Speaker 3: last three years to pay for his wife's medical bills. Yeah,
- 48:58Speaker 3: he said it's the only job that would hire him,
- 49:00Speaker 3: but he's put over 200,000 miles on his car doing this.
- 49:04Speaker 3: So the woman saw him, you know, having a hard
- 49:06Speaker 3: time with this luggage, decided to start the GoFundMe. It's
- 49:10Speaker 3: now going to allow him to retire thanks to the
- 49:12Speaker 3: support of the community and the colony and beyond.
- 49:14Speaker 2: That's awesome. That makes me so happy. This is when
- 49:17Speaker 2: the internet does good things. And I love that this
- 49:19Speaker 2: story is happening here. I mean, this, This guy's older.
- 49:22Speaker 2: He's carrying all this luggage up and down stairs. It's
- 49:24Speaker 2: like you shouldn't have to do that to be able
- 49:26Speaker 2: to take care of somebody who has health needs.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Right. A hundred percent.
- 49:30Speaker 1: What world do we live in?
- 49:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it's awful. But so glad, you know, that he's
- 49:33Speaker 3: going to get some support. Real quick, guys. Taylor Swift
- 49:37Speaker 3: made a big announcement yesterday. Her new song is coming
- 49:40Speaker 3: out this Friday. It's called Patient Zero. The song is
- 49:43Speaker 3: going to come out in three versions. So she'll do
- 49:46Speaker 3: a regular version, acoustic version, and then a piano version.
- 49:49Speaker 3: She's also releasing them on CD on her website. But
- 49:53Speaker 3: now everyone's kind of putting together the little Easter eggs
- 49:55Speaker 3: over the past couple of weeks, all the zeros.
- 49:57Speaker 2: These Easter eggs are so, like, I can't think that much.
- 50:01Speaker 2: It's a lot, but her fans get really into it.
- 50:04Speaker 2: And you know the song is going to be great.
- 50:05Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 50:06Speaker 3: I have no idea what to expect. There's a lot
- 50:08Speaker 3: of fan theories going around. But I guess one that
- 50:10Speaker 3: stood out was a description of Taylor once in the
- 50:14Speaker 3: Los Angeles Times that described her as patient zero for
- 50:17Speaker 3: emotional contagion. They're saying this was during the early days
- 50:21Speaker 3: of her relationship with Travis. So I can't imagine it's
- 50:24Speaker 3: going to be... you know, anything that you would skip
- 50:28Speaker 3: for sure.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Like she puts out such good music.
- 50:29Speaker 2: No, but do you think it's going to be dark?
- 50:31Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 50:31Speaker 1: Not dark.
- 50:32Speaker 3: Some people say this could be a dark counterpart to
- 50:35Speaker 3: the life of a showgirl. So we'll see on Friday.
- 50:37Speaker 2: See, I kind of like that. Like it's the stage,
- 50:39Speaker 2: the era of the showgirl. You're on stage, you're putting
- 50:42Speaker 2: on shows, and then you're off stage and you're sad
- 50:44Speaker 2: and behind the scenes.
- 50:45Speaker 3: Like Britney Lucky.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 50:47Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Oh, it could be.
- 50:49Speaker 2: I think that's what it's going to be. I like it. Yeah.
- 50:51Speaker 3: We'll see Friday, guys. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your
- 50:53Speaker 3: Texas Top Stories.
- 50:56Speaker 7: Well, that's a hot take. Let us know what you think.
- 50:58Speaker 7: Here's today's hot take.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Big Fair of Texas Season Pass. Your shot to win.
- 51:03Speaker 2: It's coming up. We'll do it again at around 9, 10.
- 51:05Speaker 2: We do it on the 10, so make sure you listen.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Have the iHeartRadio app ready. Can't believe we're kicking off
- 51:09Speaker 2: the fair on Friday.
- 51:11Speaker 3: I know.
- 51:11Speaker 2: It's exciting. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Poo. Okay,
- 51:16Speaker 2: a hot take of the day. When I saw this,
- 51:18Speaker 2: I thought, you know, I wonder if this is, I
- 51:20Speaker 2: had to really think about this for a second.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Is this unprofessional?
- 51:23Speaker 2: This job expert was talking about how a lot of
- 51:27Speaker 2: the Gen Z, I guess this is a recruiter, so
- 51:30Speaker 2: a lot of the Gen Z people she places into
- 51:32Speaker 2: job positions or for interviews are doing something that she
- 51:37Speaker 2: thinks is unprofessional, and people were arguing about it online.
- 51:40Speaker 1: And I don't know if you'd guess. You're thinking, well,
- 51:42Speaker 1: maybe they're showing up late.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Right.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Or maybe they're wearing something inappropriate. It has nothing to
- 51:46Speaker 2: do with what they're wearing. It's something that they're bringing
- 51:48Speaker 2: into the interviews. Gen Z is bringing into the interviews.
- 51:52Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 51:52Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Iced coffee.
- 51:57Speaker 2: And it's because it's caused a big debate online on whether,
- 52:01Speaker 2: you know, would you hire somebody or would that affect
- 52:04Speaker 2: your job interview? I've never really I got to be honest.
- 52:06Speaker 2: I've never really. This is what I've done my whole life.
- 52:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Same.
- 52:09Speaker 1: So I've never really done a formal job interview ever.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. No.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Maybe one time I used to work at Chi Chi's.
- 52:18Speaker 1: For a day and a half?
- 52:19Speaker 3: Well, every interview that I've had when I've been recruited
- 52:22Speaker 3: from my job here twice, it's been at a Starbucks.
- 52:26Speaker 3: So we were drinking coffee.
- 52:28Speaker 2: Oh, okay. So no. So these would be like, you know,
- 52:31Speaker 2: in a professional office environment, you're going to the job interview.
- 52:35Speaker 2: You walk into the interview and you have your iced coffee.
- 52:39Speaker 2: And this job expert, well, I'll let you hear what
- 52:41Speaker 2: she said.
- 52:41Speaker 14: Here's how I perceive that as a recruiter with 16
- 52:44Speaker 14: years of experience that deals with mostly Fortune 500 super
- 52:48Speaker 14: buttoned up corporations. It's perceived from my opinion, my hiring standpoint,
- 52:54Speaker 14: that when you show up with an iced coffee or
- 52:56Speaker 14: an iced latte, that this interview is just like a
- 52:59Speaker 14: stop on your list of errands for the day.
- 53:01Speaker 12: Right.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I totally agree. I totally agree. If you walk in there,
- 53:08Speaker 2: especially because those things are too loud, too.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Your latte?
- 53:11Speaker 2: No, the iced coffees are too loud. The ice is
- 53:14Speaker 2: too loud.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Well, it's just weird that your priority is split between
- 53:17Speaker 3: your coffee and your interview, it feels like.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 53:21Speaker 3: You know?
- 53:22Speaker 1: And you want to shake the iced coffee. It's unprofessional.
- 53:25Speaker 3: It's giving I-can't-be-bothered vibes. You know, like, I'm looking for
- 53:29Speaker 3: my coffee.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Y'all are being way too picky. You think so? Yeah,
- 53:31Speaker 1: because some interviews, they even ask you, hey, do you
- 53:34Speaker 1: want something to drink? Okay, great. Or they might even
- 53:35Speaker 1: have coffee in the lobby while you're waiting.
- 53:38Speaker 2: To get interviewed.
- 53:39Speaker 1: I would not take it.
- 53:39Speaker 2: So if I just show up with mine, what's the problem?
- 53:41Speaker 2: I wouldn't take it into the office with me. For instance,
- 53:44Speaker 2: if I had coffee in the lobby, I would leave
- 53:46Speaker 2: the coffee in the lobby as I went.
- 53:47Speaker 1: In for the interview.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd get rid of it.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Yes, unless they gave it to me, unless they gave
- 53:52Speaker 2: me the water. Unless I was at the interview with
- 53:55Speaker 2: the interviewer. Right.
- 53:57Speaker 1: If they give me a bottle of water, I'd be like, oh,
- 53:58Speaker 1: I appreciate that. Thank you.
- 53:59Speaker 2: And I put it to the side.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Yeah, because where are you putting your iced coffee? Are
- 54:02Speaker 3: you leaving a drink ring on their desk?
- 54:04Speaker 2: Yes.
- 54:05Speaker 3: Can I have a coaster before we get started?
- 54:07Speaker 1: I'd set it down. You're shaking it.
- 54:08Speaker 3: It feels high maintenance.
- 54:09Speaker 1: You're being loud with it.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Then all of a sudden they're asking you a question like,
- 54:13Speaker 2: you know, where do you see yourself in five years?
- 54:15Speaker 1: No.
- 54:16Speaker 7: Ew.
- 54:17Speaker 11: I mean.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Plus, you want to have coffee breath on your interview? Like,
- 54:21Speaker 3: I know on important days like that, I have my
- 54:23Speaker 3: coffee and then I, like, brush my teeth.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Then you start your day. Yeah.
- 54:25Speaker 3: I don't want to have coffee breath. How close are
- 54:27Speaker 3: you in an interview?
- 54:28Speaker 1: You're not that close.
- 54:29Speaker 3: You might be.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Smell your breath.
- 54:31Speaker 3: You might be.
- 54:31Speaker 1: You're not close, but I smell it.
- 54:34Speaker 6: Anyway, what I'm saying is when I work for different
- 54:37Speaker 6: temp companies and they send me on jobs, We'd get
- 54:40Speaker 6: interviewed first, and a lot of the places would have coffee,
- 54:43Speaker 6: and I'd bring.
- 54:43Speaker 1: The coffee in there.
- 54:44Speaker 3: That's different, though.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're talking about, I mean, and you got
- 54:48Speaker 2: fired from all these jobs.
- 54:49Speaker 6: No, no, I would just move around a lot, but
- 54:51Speaker 6: they would interview you and ask you about your experiences
- 54:54Speaker 6: and stuff like that, and I'd have a coffee or
- 54:56Speaker 6: a water or something like that in front of it.
- 54:58Speaker 1: It depends on the person.
- 54:59Speaker 2: I tell my son, because he's 15, and he's going
- 55:02Speaker 2: to be going for job interviews soon. I mean, he
- 55:04Speaker 2: kind of has his side jobs that he does, but
- 55:07Speaker 2: I say, if you're going for an interview.
- 55:09Speaker 2: You're there to impress them within the first 25 seconds.
- 55:13Speaker 2: If you don't, it's over. So dress professional. If you're
- 55:16Speaker 2: not 15 minutes early, you're late.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Don't chew gum. No, no, no chewing gum.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Use your manners.
- 55:25Speaker 2: Treat everyone in that building with respect. It doesn't matter
- 55:28Speaker 2: if it's the janitor or the CEO. Yep. Everybody you
- 55:32Speaker 2: treat the same, no matter what. It doesn't matter because
- 55:35Speaker 2: guess what? That receptionist, She's probably the closest to the CEO.
- 55:38Speaker 3: For sure, the gatekeeper.
- 55:40Speaker 1: And that's not only the reason you do it.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Obviously, you do it because it's just the right thing
- 55:43Speaker 2: to do.
- 55:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:44Speaker 1: But this job expert, I mean, she says the same thing.
- 55:47Speaker 14: It looks like you went to Target and you went
- 55:49Speaker 14: to Starbucks. Now you're stopping by your interview. Then you're
- 55:51Speaker 14: on to the next thing.
- 55:52Speaker 3: It looks a little too casual to me.
- 55:55Speaker 14: And again, this is like your perception of how you're
- 55:58Speaker 14: perceived in this 30 to 45 minutes that you have
- 56:01Speaker 14: to interview.
- 56:01Speaker 7: This is important.
- 56:02Speaker 10: Exactly.
- 56:03Speaker 14: Don't show up with iced coffee or the iced latte.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Save that for well before the interview or after the interview.
- 56:09Speaker 11: Go and get one.
- 56:10Speaker 2: I agree with you.
- 56:11Speaker 11: I agree.
- 56:11Speaker 5: What do you think?
- 56:11Speaker 3: Perception is reality.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you let us know.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Because I don't think I've ever had an interview where
- 56:16Speaker 2: I've ever really had to do anything. I mean, of course,
- 56:18Speaker 2: the Mexican restaurant I worked at for a day and
- 56:20Speaker 2: a half.
- 56:20Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Chi-chi.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Chi-chis.
- 56:22Speaker 1: What about the tanning salon? No, I don't even think
- 56:24Speaker 1: I had a job interview for that. I was like 15.
- 56:26Speaker 3: They're like, please work here.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the guy was like, you know, the
- 56:30Speaker 2: guy who owned it, JR.
- 56:31Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 56:31Speaker 1: He was like, can you hit buttons and count?
- 56:33Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, yeah.
- 56:36Speaker 3: And drink coffee?
- 56:37Speaker 2: He's like, you're hired. Yeah. Nice. And I didn't mess
- 56:41Speaker 2: up that job. Only one time I burned someone. How
- 56:44Speaker 2: do you do that?
- 56:45Speaker 10: How?
- 56:45Speaker 2: Well, I put him in the wrong bed.
- 56:46Speaker 1: I put him in an intense bed for 15 minutes.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Dude, you wrecked her.
- 56:49Speaker 7: I did.
- 56:51Speaker 2: But she got out, and she looked okay, because, you know,
- 56:53Speaker 2: that suntan, that burn doesn't set in for a minute.
- 56:56Speaker 10: Right.
- 56:56Speaker 1: And I realized she was supposed to be in that
- 56:58Speaker 1: bed for five minutes, and I had her in for 15. Oh, God.
- 57:01Speaker 1: So she came out looking like me.
- 57:02Speaker 2: No, she didn't come out looking like that. She came
- 57:05Speaker 2: out just looking like... Watch, because I was in there
- 57:07Speaker 2: a little longer than I thought. And I was like,
- 57:09Speaker 2: were you? You're only supposed to be in there for...
- 57:11Speaker 2: And I looked, and I go, oh, I put her
- 57:12Speaker 2: in bed three instead of one.
- 57:13Speaker 10: Oh.
- 57:14Speaker 3: Did you even recognize her next time she came in?
- 57:18Speaker 2: Next time she came in, she was talking to the boss,
- 57:20Speaker 2: and she had... Pretty much a third-degree burn. Yeah, and
- 57:25Speaker 2: I walked in there, and I was like, ooh. And
- 57:27Speaker 2: she's like, yeah, that was him. And I was like,
- 57:30Speaker 2: did you get fired? No, because I looked at her,
- 57:32Speaker 2: and I was like, but did you die?
- 57:34Speaker 1: Why am I getting a little bit nervous now?
- 57:35Speaker 2: It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candace Lopez.
- 57:38Speaker 1: Producer Pooh is here. We got our corny dog walk.
- 57:41Speaker 2: It kicks off Friday morning, the same day of the
- 57:43Speaker 2: State Fair of Texas, which... I'm so excited it's almost time.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Friday is the day. Last year, I mean, I kind
- 57:50Speaker 2: of walked to the fair as a joke. It was
- 57:52Speaker 2: kind of like, I'm going to walk to the State
- 57:53Speaker 2: Fair of Texas. Yeah, you surprised me. You're right. So
- 57:56Speaker 2: I don't feel guilty about eating all the corny dogs
- 57:58Speaker 2: when I get there. It's like 14 miles. People are
- 58:01Speaker 2: saying 13. No, it's 14.
- 58:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 58:05Speaker 1: It might be more.
- 58:05Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 58:06Speaker 2: To be honest, I think I walked 28 miles that day.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Felt like it. Either way, made it to the fair
- 58:11Speaker 2: and the entire way, it became a whole thing where
- 58:12Speaker 2: if you find me, you get tickets. I was giving
- 58:15Speaker 2: away tickets. It was one of the coolest things we've
- 58:17Speaker 2: ever done.
- 58:18Speaker 3: For sure.
- 58:18Speaker 2: And now this year, we're excited because the State Fair
- 58:21Speaker 2: of Texas, they're really getting behind it too. And they're like,
- 58:23Speaker 2: we love it. And what I don't think people really
- 58:26Speaker 2: realize is the State Fair of Texas is one of
- 58:29Speaker 2: the biggest nonprofits in Texas.
- 58:31Speaker 1: So, yeah, it's fun.
- 58:32Speaker 2: They do.
- 58:33Speaker 1: It's all it's a tradition. It's more than just a fair.
- 58:36Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 58:37Speaker 2: You know, I mean, I think about the times of
- 58:39Speaker 2: going with my son and we still do. But, you know,
- 58:42Speaker 2: from when he was since the time he was born.
- 58:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 58:44Speaker 2: It becomes a tradition here. It's not like, you know,
- 58:47Speaker 2: you go to other fairs and it's they're cool.
- 58:50Speaker 7: Right.
- 58:50Speaker 2: But this is this is iconic. Big Tex is iconic.
- 58:54Speaker 2: But what they do is so much for the community
- 58:57Speaker 2: that I don't think is highlighted enough. Behind the scenes,
- 59:01Speaker 2: they do so many incredible things. Their nonprofit does scholarships.
- 59:04Speaker 2: It does things with the food vendors. They donate food
- 59:08Speaker 2: to the pantries, local food pantries. And they give money
- 59:12Speaker 2: to community initiatives and so many things, which is so
- 59:16Speaker 2: important because, A, you know I love anything Texas. Yep.
- 59:20Speaker 2: And I definitely love anything that helps out Texans. So
- 59:23Speaker 2: I wanted to highlight that. So we're selling these T-shirts,
- 59:26Speaker 2: which is awesome because all the money that we raise—
- 59:29Speaker 2: We're giving it to the State Fair of Texas. If
- 59:31Speaker 2: you want to buy a t-shirt, go to Mix 1029
- 59:34Speaker 2: FM on Instagram, at Mix 1029 FM on Instagram.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Buy it.
- 59:38Speaker 2: It's a corny dog walk shirt. It's ridiculous. But it's
- 59:42Speaker 2: awesome at the same time. And the proceeds are going
- 59:44Speaker 2: to go to the State Fair of Texas. And I'm
- 59:45Speaker 2: going to wear one at my walk. And I'm going
- 59:47Speaker 2: to give a few away on the walk, too. But
- 59:49Speaker 2: so many people have come forward and been like, hey,
- 59:51Speaker 2: the State Fair of Texas helped me out. One, Dr.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Savannah Wood, who's a veterinarian, I had her on the
- 59:56Speaker 1: phone because she Well, she's here. You got a scholarship
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: from the State Fair of Texas.
- 1:00:01Speaker 9: Yes, sir. I was a recipient in 2016.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Oh, 2016.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: So tell us how the fair really, how it changed
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: your life and kind of helped shape the path and
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: the things you do now.
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: So I grew up showing horses, cows, mules, sheep, all
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: of the things. And I showed all of those things
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: at the fair. My first show was 2013, and I
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: was showing sheep back then. It was just kind of
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: a cool learning experience and a good way to get
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: my feet on the ground and start seeing animals in
- 1:00:36Speaker 9: that way. When I found out that there was a
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: scholarship opportunity and applied and all of that, I didn't
- 1:00:42Speaker 9: really expect anything. But then to receive a Big Tech
- 1:00:45Speaker 9: scholarship was really cool.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: That is so cool. And obviously you've done incredible things
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: since then, since receiving it.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Now, where are you from? You grew up in Tatum?
- 1:00:54Speaker 11: Yes, sir.
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: Born and raised Longview, Tatum area.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: And then you went to Tech, and then you went
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: to Auburn on top of that. So you've done two
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: incredible schools.
- 1:01:05Speaker 9: I like to think so. I'm pretty proud of my
- 1:01:08Speaker 9: alma maters.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Now, where are you working now as an ER veterinarian?
- 1:01:13Speaker 9: I currently work at I-30 Animal Emergency in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: That's incredible.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Good for you.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: See, I love hearing stories like this because I don't
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: think people know the difference that the State Fair of
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: Texas has made in people's lives.
- 1:01:26Speaker 11: Sure.
- 1:01:27Speaker 9: And like some of my favorite things about like being
- 1:01:30Speaker 9: an exhibitor at the fair was they always opened it
- 1:01:33Speaker 9: up for like schools around and allowed kids to come through.
- 1:01:37Speaker 9: And I always made sure that my animals were very handleable.
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: So when schools came through, they could be interactive and
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: like friendly. Kids could come pet my sheep, come pet
- 1:01:47Speaker 9: my cows. Like, let's let's learn about agriculture and those
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: kind of things.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: It's a big deal. You're right. And also not just
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: for the kids in the schools, but also for the
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: city boys like me who are scared of sheep.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: You know, I'm a little bit nervous when I get
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: around farm animals.
- 1:02:04Speaker 10: Dr.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Wood, the first time I saw a cow in the
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: wild because I grew up in Detroit was.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I said a cow in the wild, but it's true. Yeah.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Was in Texas. I saw him in the zoo growing
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: up in Detroit, but I never saw one just roaming
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: a pasture until I got here. And then I saw
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: one swim, and I was amazed that they could swim
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: for being so big.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: He thought it was drowning.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: I didn't know they're pretty good swimmers, Dr.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Wood.
- 1:02:30Speaker 10: They are.
- 1:02:31Speaker 9: It's like my cows love to hang out in our pond.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: What animal is the biggest pain in the butt to
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: deal with?
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: I don't know that there's really any that are any
- 1:02:39Speaker 9: more difficult than others. It's just they all pose their
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: own challenges.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: What's the craziest animal you've been bit by?
- 1:02:46Speaker 8: Oh, been bit by?
- 1:02:49Speaker 11: A snake.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: A snake?
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: Thankfully, it was a non-venomous snake, but yes.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Oh, good. Okay.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: See, I'm already out. I can't be a veterinarian.
- 1:02:59Speaker 9: I see a little bit of everything. The running joke
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: at our clinic is I am not a llama vet.
- 1:03:07Speaker 9: I am a vet that will see a llama.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: I like that. That's good.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: What's the strangest animal you've ever treated?
- 1:03:15Speaker 9: We currently have a tarantula in the clinic.
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: What's wrong with it?
- 1:03:22Speaker 9: I did not have anything to do with the acquisition
- 1:03:25Speaker 9: of the tarantula, but we do have a tarantula in clinic.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Does it got the flu?
- 1:03:32Speaker 9: We've seen lizards and birds and llamas, alpacas.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:03:40Speaker 9: It's kind of, if it fits through the door, we'll
- 1:03:42Speaker 9: see it.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: See, you're making a difference, and that's what matters. Well,
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: thank you, Dr. Wood, and so is the State Fair
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: of Texas, and that's why we really called. And make
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: sure that tarantula is okay, I guess. I guess you
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: can't be scared of animals.
- 1:03:54Speaker 9: He's doing great. He actually lives here. He's a resident
- 1:03:59Speaker 9: of the clinic.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: So no matter what the animal is, you'll see it
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: if it needs help.
- 1:04:02Speaker 10: Yes, sir.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Well, I need to bring my ex up there.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Oh, stop.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: No, you need to bring you up there. My friend
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Pooh here has rabies.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Dr.
- 1:04:15Speaker 12: Wood.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: We appreciate you. Have a great day.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: And thank you for sharing your experience with the State
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Fair of Texas and all the great things they have done.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: And you keep doing great things, too. We appreciate you.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 1:04:25Speaker 9: Thank you all.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: You're awesome. Okay, get your corny dog shirt.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: We got some left.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: We're trying to sell 200. So we can give some
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: money to the fair. Get them at Mix 1029 FM
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: on our Instagram. The link is in the bio.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: The new Mix 102.9.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Candice, here we go.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: Kid in the Morning.
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Going on, Candace?
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: Well, it's a good day to be an Ella fella, Billy.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: Ella Langley's Choose in Texas, now the longest running number
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: one song on the Billboard Hot 100 charts at 23
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: straight weeks.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: It's always a good day to be an Ella fella.
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Yeah, she sent me a DM.
- 1:05:03Speaker 10: Did she?
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: You called it, and I was like, yeah, I know. Yeah,
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: I was going to screenshot it, but that'd be rude.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure. That's kind of private.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: It's kind of a weird flex.
- 1:05:11Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You drops
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: down to number two at 22 weeks. But Ella did
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: post a video thanking fans, saying this song has changed
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: her life and the lives of the writers of the song.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Miranda Lambert was also a co-writer and producer on it.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: She said this was not on her bingo card for
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: this song to take over the world. But yeah, congratulations
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: to Ella Langley. That's incredible.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Take that, Mariah.
- 1:05:35Speaker 12: Aw.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Which almost, she's going to be thawing out soon. We're
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: going to be hearing that song too.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: She already is.
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: Is she?
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: I have a neighbor who has a Christmas tree already up.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:05:44Speaker 7: No.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: No, I swear to God I do.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: I swear I do.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I'll take a picture of it, a video tonight.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: All right. Simone Biles is trending this morning. She posted
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: a TikTok revealing that her home in Chicago was broken into.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: She says they stole her car, which was later recovered.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: She says, I think I'm going to need a new car.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: I don't know what kind of shape that was in,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: but it feels like after your car is stolen, it's
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: not the same.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Trust me, it's not.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: I've had a couple cars stolen.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Have you?
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and they've recovered, and it's just not the same.
- 1:06:12Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: When you get back in them, you're like, someone else's
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: butt's been here. An unauthorized booty in this scene. Get
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: a new car, Simone.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: Yeah. She said things that happened to her are absolute
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: insanity and joke that she may need a reality show
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: after this one. She and her husband have since gotten
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: a dog. They got a Doberman, I guess, which they
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: think will help, you know, with security. No, it's not
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: going to help. Well, the dog's barking.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Just throw that dog a pork chop and steal her car.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: It's in Chicago.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: They're going to find a way. Trust me.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: Who's still in the car with a pork chop in hand?
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: Any criminal. If you're smart, you take dog treats with you. Okay.
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: Right, Pooh?
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Throw them down. Yeah, them dogs are always going to.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: Go for it. Yeah, you take a treat, you throw
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: the treat. I don't want to advocate crime, but it happens.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: No, yeah, for sure. Guys, this is fun news today.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Wendy's Emo album is out today, and I'm talking about Wendy's,
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: the restaurant. They were teasing this online. They posted a
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: picture of Wendy with kind of like side swoopy bangs
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: over one of her eyes, teasing the date, which is today.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: 923.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: I love it.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Whoever runs their marketing is so good.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: They're really on point. I just saw the hospitality group
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: that I guess owns Wendy's or helps them function is
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: going bankrupt.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: What?
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: So weird day for Wendy's.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Wendy's is bringing back their yellow cups. I think up
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: next is they're going to bring back their sunrooms.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Oh, yes. I think they should.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, it's not even on this album,
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: but there's a song about missing the sunrooms.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Which is so funny to me. Can we play a
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: clip of that?
- 1:07:45Speaker 10: I miss the sunroom.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Two hearts, one plastic spoon.
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: I'm such a mess now. Better days were gone too soon.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: I miss the sunroom.
- 1:07:57Speaker 7: I do too.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Our laughter filled the air.
- 1:08:04Speaker 12: Oh, what a classic.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: So good. I love emo music.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: That is so good.
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: Me too.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I miss the sun. You got a little frosty on
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: your lip, you know? You lean over, get it off there.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, this album, by the way, has six songs,
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: including the soon-to-be hit, it's not a phase, it's a 10-piece.
- 1:08:25Speaker 11: Oh.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: The names are so awesome.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: They're so good. This one's funny. She said she didn't
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: want fries. She lied.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: She did.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: So good.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: No, I don't want fries. I'm just going to eat
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: all of yours.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: Yeah, always order fries.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: Yep, always.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Just in case. All right, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: your Texas Top Stories.
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: Get it off your chest.
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: Morning on Mix 102.9.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 1:08:48Speaker 7: If you've got a secret, 833-787-1029. Dirty Little Secret. It's
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: just confession time, really.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Just confess. cleanse your soul you'll feel better about life
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: you know you just get it off your chest if
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: you can't tell your friends and family or whoever, then
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: tell us. Yeah.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: Why not? You got one. Sturdy little secret.
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: No judgment, please, okay?
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:09:08Speaker 10: So I have this secret that I've never told my friends,
- 1:09:12Speaker 10: my family, not even my husband, because it's so bizarre
- 1:09:16Speaker 10: that I don't even know how to explain it.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: I love weird secrets. Okay.
- 1:09:23Speaker 10: I like to pretend that I'm rich and I like
- 1:09:26Speaker 10: to go to look at mansions.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah. I mean, I, I get like looking at
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: mansions too. I get, I mean, what do you mean?
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: Like when you go look at Matt, you pretend you're
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: rich and go look at mansions, like drive around and
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: look at them.
- 1:09:39Speaker 10: No, like I, like I seek them out. Like I
- 1:09:42Speaker 10: look at the listings.
- 1:09:43Speaker 11: Right.
- 1:09:43Speaker 8: And I, I literally go to these mansions. Like, Twice
- 1:09:47Speaker 8: a month. Like they're for sale.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: I will go to the open houses.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:09:51Speaker 8: The ones that are for sale.
- 1:09:52Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: So you're going to open houses and you're going to.
- 1:09:56Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: Not like a drive-by in your head. Someday we'll live there.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Yeah, right. No.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: I dress the part.
- 1:10:05Speaker 10: Like I will put on my shades, my best bag,
- 1:10:10Speaker 10: my clothes. Like, I go in, I go to these
- 1:10:13Speaker 10: open houses, to these multi-million dollar homes or these estates.
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:10:19Speaker 10: There's sometimes, yes, the ones over there in Highland Park
- 1:10:23Speaker 10: or South Lake.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: And I will go into character, guys.
- 1:10:28Speaker 10: I will make up like a fake life and everything
- 1:10:31Speaker 10: before I go.
- 1:10:31Speaker 8: I have like, I'm scripted when I go in there.
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: Okay, guys?
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Like, you have like a fake persona? You have a
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: fake name and everything?
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: 100%.
- 1:10:41Speaker 8: I have a fake name.
- 1:10:42Speaker 10: I have a fake career. I have a fake family situation.
- 1:10:49Speaker 10: I will go in there with my imaginary, like I
- 1:10:52Speaker 10: will talk about my imaginary husband, like he's a surgeon.
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: Or, yeah, we sold the company.
- 1:10:59Speaker 10: One time I told a realtor that we were relocating
- 1:11:02Speaker 10: from California because of my husband's job.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: That's believable.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: This is hysterical. And I'm wondering, so you go into
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: an open house, all of a sudden you are some highfalutin.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: person rich you're walking around you got a fake personality
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: you'll get.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Your nails done okay so you're dressing.
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: Up like you can tell me I'm not rich you
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: know I literally go there I dress.
- 1:11:27Speaker 10: And act the part 1 million percent and I will
- 1:11:30Speaker 10: actually ask legitimate questions like so how old is the
- 1:11:34Speaker 10: roof would the owner.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Go care for it.
- 1:11:40Speaker 13: I would say, would the owners consider leaving the wine refrigerators?
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: So you're getting into it.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Are there any foundation problems?
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: All of it.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: All of it.
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: But meanwhile, my bank account is like, girl, get the
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: F out of there.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: So what does it do to you? You've got to
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: do this for a reason. I mean, obviously, you like it.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: You get a kick out of it. But, like, what
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: is it? Does it do something to you that you just, like,
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: fulfill something?
- 1:12:13Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:12:13Speaker 10: Besides giving me an adrenaline rush, I'm like, I.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: Mean, of course, I'm playing the role. But it's not that, like,
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: I'm unhappy with my real life.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:23Speaker 8: I have a beautiful home.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: I have a great husband, a great family.
- 1:12:26Speaker 8: All the good stuff.
- 1:12:27Speaker 10: And it's not like I'm trying to escape some horrible
- 1:12:29Speaker 10: situation or anything like that.
- 1:12:31Speaker 13: It's just that besides the rush, I just love these
- 1:12:34Speaker 13: houses and I love imagining my life like this.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: It's a lot to go through and to go and
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: you actually got to physically be there. And nobody knows
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: you do it because, I mean, I could see how
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: somebody would think this is weird. I want to talk
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: to Dr. Chris, who always listens to us and see
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: what he would say about this.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: I mean, I like going to open houses, too. My
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: husband does more than I like, like houses that really
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: don't make sense for us.
- 1:12:59Speaker 9: Really?
- 1:13:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: Just look at the design. I don't. Catch a vibe.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: I didn't like it at first either, but he was like,
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: let's just go look.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: You know, if I can't afford this, don't tease me
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: with it.
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. It's also manifest.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: I like going because of the food. Some of the nice.
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: Houses, they have a good charcuterie board.
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: That's right.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Little mimosas. It just depends.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: It's free food.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: Well, I mean, good for you.
- 1:13:26Speaker 8: A little caviar.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: Do you feel bad, though? I would also, I'm a
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: real big person, like real big, I'm wasting people's time.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: I would feel bad about wasting anybody's time, like the
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: real estate agent. I would feel bad, you know?
- 1:13:38Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:40Speaker 10: I do feel bad about that because, like, sometimes I'll
- 1:13:43Speaker 10: go back for a second showing.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: Oh, wow. Well, you weren't wasting time until then. That
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: was the house they're doing anyways.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: No, you put your email address down.
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: I'm going to go back.
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: RichGirl69 at gmail.com.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: You don't feel guilty about that? Like bringing an agent
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: out for a showing that you know is not going anywhere?
- 1:14:08Speaker 8: No, I can go with it. I can go with it.
- 1:14:10Speaker 11: Okay.
- 1:14:11Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: Well, I mean, it could be worse. You could have
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: worse addictions. Yeah.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: This is a strange one, though. We've had a lot
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: of weird ones.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: But, I mean, I don't know. Candace said she doesn't.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: Well, not like this. I'm going to a $ 6 million house.
- 1:14:25Speaker 7: But.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: I mean, can't you just watch like Million Dollar Listing
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: or whatever on Netflix or one of those shows to
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: get your fix?
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: No, she can't dress up for that. No, it's not
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: the same.
- 1:14:33Speaker 9: True.
- 1:14:33Speaker 8: No, you got to, this is everything.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: It's an interesting hobby for sure. But I'm glad you
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: confessed it and thank you. And, you know, let us know,
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: keep us in the loop on this. I'm going to
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: see if our friend who's a therapist and I'm going
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: to see what he has to say about it.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: Maybe he'll analyze. He's probably already analyzing you as he listens.
- 1:14:52Speaker 7: All right.
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: Well, good luck and go look at some houses, girl.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: I will. Thank you.
- 1:14:56Speaker 11: Thank you, guys.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: You know what? Matter of fact, Dr. Chris, I think
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: he's on the phone. Let's talk to him next. Okay.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Because I'm so curious what that means.
- 1:15:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: What does it mean if you're going to open houses
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: and fake and being rich?
- 1:15:06Speaker 11: Right.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Maybe there's something wrong with it.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: We don't know. You know what?
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: We'll talk to him.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: Hang out. to get out of here but first it's
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: mix 102.9 ability kid candace lopez producer poo we just
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: had a dirty little secret and the woman does something
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: unique she basically goes to open houses and pretends that
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: she's interested in the home and that she's rich she
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: goes these mansions these expensive elaborate beautiful homes and knowing
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: that she is never gonna buy him right she makes
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: up a persona about herself basically says you know mom
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: yeah my husband in some cases my husband's a surgeon
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: We just moved here from California. She plays a whole part. Like,
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: it's not even real. It's not real life. And it's interesting, though.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: She seems totally normal.
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: But I wonder why she does it. Well, we have
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: smart people, believe it or not, that listen to this show.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Of course.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: And Dr.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Chris being one of them. And I'm like, let's get
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: him on the phone. He was listening.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: So, Dr. Chris.
- 1:15:56Speaker 11: What's up, Billy? How we doing?
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Tell us how crazy she is.
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: No, I'm just kidding.
- 1:16:01Speaker 7: Really?
- 1:16:02Speaker 11: She's actually very healthy and sane.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:16:04Speaker 12: Yay.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: Well, so you also had on this lady a couple
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: months ago that travels for work and she pretends to
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: be somebody else when she travels.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:16:13Speaker 11: We call this escapism. This is very normal.
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: We either have a mundane or normal life and we've
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: gotten into a routine.
- 1:16:21Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: Or we strive for something more that we'll maybe probably
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: never have. Like she jokes about her husband being a
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: surgeon or something like that.
- 1:16:27Speaker 11: And so really all she's doing is just for a
- 1:16:29Speaker 11: brief moment, she's daydreaming.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: She's being a little bit more theatrical about it.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: So it's not unhealthy. It's something that could be totally normal.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: She's escaping to a real housewife of Southlake.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:16:42Speaker 11: That's what she's doing. She probably watches those shows and
- 1:16:45Speaker 11: loves them.
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: And this is a legal, safe way to go and
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: pretend to be something else.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Oh, like I pretend to have good credit. Like you
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: pretend to have money.
- 1:16:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Like when Pooh meets certain girls, he's like, oh, I
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: happen to have a lot of money. I'm practicing escapism.
- 1:17:01Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: And it's funny, that's what they do right after, too.
- 1:17:04Speaker 10: They escape.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm escaping the creditors.
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: And bill collectors.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: That's fascinating, Dr.
- 1:17:12Speaker 11: Chris.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: See, that's why we wanted to talk to you.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: See, we might have to have a Therapy Thursdays or
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: something for just you analyzing, like, something going on. I mean,
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: we could have a whole therapy session with us, but
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: that's definitely unique. Honestly, that makes total sense.
- 1:17:27Speaker 11: Yeah, I would love to do it. Therapy Thursdays sounds great.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Dr.
- 1:17:31Speaker 11: Chris.
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: Now, where can everybody, if they want to use you
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: and utilize your services, where can they find you?
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: Yeah, they can find us at taylorkounselinggroup.com or youareherethebook.com.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: We're going to listen. Go see Dr. Chris if you
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: need help and not even help. Maybe you just needed
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: someone to talk to. Maybe you need to figure out
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: some things in life.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I mean, why not?
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: Everyone needs it, really. Well, thank you, Dr. Chris.
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: We appreciate you calling, man, and we'll talk to you soon.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: But we'll do that. We're definitely going to set that up. Thanks, guys.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: Sounds great.
- 1:17:57Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: TaylorCounselingGroup.com.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: All right. Let's see. Totally normal. That's something that makes
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: someone feel better about their life. She felt a little
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: bit crazy for doing it, but oh, well.
- 1:18:07Speaker 7: All right.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: We're about to get out of here. Candice, please tell
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: me that video's up.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: It's up, yeah.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: It's up on Instagram.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: Okay, there's a video on our Instagram that you've got
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: to go see. At Mix 1029 FM, it's a reel,
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: and it's basically Pooh walking through the mall. And the
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: messages you sent roasting the way he waddles. And it
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: cracked me up this morning. If you missed it, go
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: check out that reel at Mix 1029 FM. Other than that,
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: we're out of here, and we will see you tomorrow, right?
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: We're getting close to the corny dog walk.
- 1:18:38Speaker 7: I'm ready.
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: I've got to stretch my glutes.
- 1:18:39Speaker 10: Two days.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: Okay, bye.
