- 4:43Speaker 5: life questions. The life questions will be more on this episode,
- 4:46Speaker 5: the Tuesday episode, but just use hashtag tier Talk on
- 4:49Speaker 5: social media. That's how we see it. We will feature

- 4:59Speaker 5: our Tier Talk Tier Talk is going to roll now.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Also on this episode, our interview, the Massive Interview. This
- 5:05Speaker 5: is an incredible conversation within Don began Sue. I know
- 5:08Speaker 5: that dicks are hard right now in Nebraska with Sue
- 5:11Speaker 5: rolling out, but overall Detroit, Miami, his stint at LA
- 5:16Speaker 5: Business Talk everything we uh yeah, his uh. We get
- 5:20Speaker 5: into some of his controversial calls throughout his.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Career, controversial happen. Yeah, I'll say this about this episode.
- 5:27Speaker 1: This is the most in depth he's ever gone about
- 5:30Speaker 1: his controversial calls that I've personally seen anywhere else.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Yeah, Yeah, agreed. It's an awesome Uh, it's an awesome interview.
- 5:35Speaker 5: But thank you for tuning in to Busting with the Boys.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Where do we even start? There is ay, there is
- 5:41Speaker 5: a big se just stepping outside the football world. There
- 5:45Speaker 5: is a big fight happening on Saturday night on Netflix.
- 5:50Speaker 5: You might as well just promo that because you got
- 5:52Speaker 5: You got Terence Crawford, born and raised Omaha, Nebraska. You
- 5:57Speaker 5: led the Huskers out against the Colorado Buffalo last year
- 6:00Speaker 5: and memorials He's taken on Canelo two champions one Legacy.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Canelo and Crawford are facing off for the first time
- 6:10Speaker 5: in their Hall of Fame boxing careers. You got Canelo Alvarez,
- 6:13Speaker 5: that holds all the major belts in the super middleweight,
- 6:16Speaker 5: biggest earner per fight around one hundred million per fight,
- 6:21Speaker 5: the most followed Mexican athlete in the game, Versus Terrence Crawford.
- 6:26Speaker 5: I already said it. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska,
- 6:29Speaker 5: one of only three male boxers in history to be
- 6:32Speaker 5: undisputed champion in two divisions, forty one wins, no losses,
- 6:36Speaker 5: no draws across four weight divisions. Seventy six of his
- 6:41Speaker 5: percent of his wins are by KO and champion in
- 6:44Speaker 5: three different divisions. Canelo has not only his legacy at stake,
- 6:49Speaker 5: but also the weight of his entire country to come
- 6:51Speaker 5: out on top in Crawford is just looking to round
- 6:55Speaker 5: out an undefeated career and walk away as the greatest
- 7:00Speaker 5: of his era. Canelo greatest of his era. That is
- 7:02Speaker 5: what is on the line. Who are we taking to fight?
- 7:05Speaker 5: Is accessible globally and included as part of your Netflix subscription.
- 7:09Speaker 5: There's no This is not a pay per view fight.
- 7:12Speaker 5: If you have Netflix, you can watch this fight live.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Watch Canelo alvarezvus Terrence Crawford Saturday, September thirteenth at nine
- 7:18Speaker 5: pm Eastern six six pm Pacific Standard time, live on Netflix.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Who we got in this fight? Fellas you know? For me,
- 7:26Speaker 5: this is bias, this is Nebraska. For week, this is
- 7:29Speaker 5: Terrence Crawford.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm going Canelo. A lot of you people
- 7:33Speaker 1: don't know this about me, but my family hails from Jalisco, Mexico, Mexican,
- 7:38Speaker 1: So I gotta sit behind my brother from south at
- 7:40Speaker 1: the border. I'm gonna go Canelo in this.
- 7:42Speaker 5: One, Dude, this is this is a big fight. Crawford
- 7:45Speaker 5: comes out on top of here Canelo. The legacy that
- 7:47Speaker 5: this man has is second to none. Obviously, people argue,
- 7:52Speaker 5: you wish him and may Mayweather would have fought in
- 7:54Speaker 5: their primes him. He did have pachia earlier in his career,
- 7:58Speaker 5: but Canelo is an absolute monster. I love that this
- 8:02Speaker 5: fight's happening. I wish it would have happened sooner. But
- 8:04Speaker 5: nonetheless we are getting it and your boys right.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But it bears the question who's the greatest of all time?
- 8:10Speaker 1: And obviously in our lanes that we sit in is football,
- 8:12Speaker 1: So why not have a quick conversation, which we kind
- 8:15Speaker 1: of did in pre production before. It's like, who is
- 8:18Speaker 1: the goat coach of all time? He can go college,
- 8:20Speaker 1: you can go NFL, you can go a mix of both.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I know, Mitch, we were sitting there. He was beating
- 8:24Speaker 1: on the table Urban Meyer. Urban Meyer.
- 8:26Speaker 5: He's a goat.
- 8:26Speaker 6: He's a goat.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Meyer's the goat.
- 8:28Speaker 1: He won one forty one War Ohio State, I gotta
- 8:30Speaker 1: have and that's my guy.
- 8:31Speaker 7: Believe it or not. I would not go with Urban Meyer.
- 8:34Speaker 7: Would actually go with Joe Paterno.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Okay, that's not what you're gonna go there.
- 8:42Speaker 5: You would go Joe Paterno.
- 8:44Speaker 7: All time winning his coach, And like ever, I think
- 8:47Speaker 7: when it comes to college football, listen.
- 8:49Speaker 5: I know, go ahead. I was gonna say, sure him. Like,
- 8:53Speaker 5: while this is happening, you gotta bring up Joe Paterno,
- 8:56Speaker 5: Gotta bring up Nick Saban, Vince Lombardi, Andy Red, Bill Belichick,
- 9:01Speaker 5: Tom Osborne, What about Michigan. Who's the most winging Jim Harball,
- 9:07Speaker 5: Bo Sham Beckler, Sham Beckler. Yeah, Lloyd Carr is another
- 9:09Speaker 5: one he can put on. There came in after Bo
- 9:13Speaker 5: Sham Beckler, Woody Hayes, saw ad guy.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Bear Bryant punched the guy punched the player.
- 9:19Speaker 1: That's all right. Sometimes you gotta get little gritty up
- 9:21Speaker 1: in there.
- 9:22Speaker 5: We gotta figure out. We got to figure this answer out.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And I'll say this. I know a lot of people
- 9:25Speaker 1: are beating down the door right now saying it's Bill Belichick.
- 9:27Speaker 1: It's Bill Belichick's Bill Belichick. I have a problem with
- 9:30Speaker 1: the legacy of Bill Belichick right now. I don't want
- 9:33Speaker 1: to come off as a as a hater, but like
- 9:34Speaker 1: this whole thing that's happened in UNC right now, it
- 9:37Speaker 1: just doesn't feel like Bill Belichick.
- 9:39Speaker 5: It's just life outside of Tom Brady exactly Exactly like
- 9:45Speaker 5: you look at Andy Reids.
- 9:47Speaker 1: And it's like, yeah, what is Bill Belichick without Tom Brady?
- 9:49Speaker 1: Because we know what Tom Brady is without Bill Belichick,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but we don't we we found out that, like, hey,
- 9:54Speaker 1: can Bill really want And then you were just about
- 9:56Speaker 1: to bring it up, who is it? Personally? I believe
- 9:58Speaker 1: my goat, Andy Reid into super Bowl with Philadelphia, when's
- 10:02Speaker 1: a couple of Super Bowls with Kansas City, It's like,
- 10:04Speaker 1: how are we? How was he not talked about more
- 10:06Speaker 1: of being the goat when it comes to Super Bowl's,
- 10:09Speaker 1: NFL the whole thing.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Yeah, people are screaming and forgetting to wipe their ass
- 10:14Speaker 5: because I will. You're such a hater on the Chiefs,
- 10:16Speaker 5: but that is my I think that's my goat too, right,
- 10:19Speaker 5: I'm with you on that one.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Andy Reid and Vince the Bardi, I get it, Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 1: like he is. The trophy is named after him for
- 10:25Speaker 1: a reason, but like four passes now involved Pop Warner.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Pop Warner, he's on the list number four. There's a
- 10:36Speaker 2: little there's literally a whole age group of football named
- 10:39Speaker 2: after him.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, maybe maybe the best coach you never heard of,
- 10:44Speaker 1: Maybe the best coach you were confused about when he
- 10:46Speaker 1: sat on a bus and some guys say what about
- 10:47Speaker 1: Pop Warner and you immediately thought thought middle school?
- 10:50Speaker 5: Maybe maybe I'm that guy.
- 10:53Speaker 8: Uh.
- 10:54Speaker 9: The one thing I'll say about Andy Reid is I
- 10:56Speaker 9: loved when Gridon was on the bus and just talking
- 10:58Speaker 9: about the rivalry they had Andy Reid how much he
- 11:02Speaker 9: was like, I gotta be better than this guy. This
- 11:04Speaker 9: guy's good, and that if John Gruden is sitting there
- 11:07Speaker 9: saying I think Andy Reid's the best one out there,
- 11:10Speaker 9: hands down, that's my answer.
- 11:11Speaker 5: You gotta do like ask Chad Gpt to do side
- 11:15Speaker 5: by side by side comparisons of Nick Saban's resume, Andy
- 11:19Speaker 5: Reid's resume, Vince Lombardi.
- 11:23Speaker 2: It's gonna be tough because it's college and NFL.
- 11:25Speaker 1: It's a tough one.
- 11:26Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true.
- 11:27Speaker 7: I mean I saw some stats of Nick Saban on
- 11:31Speaker 7: TikTok the other day. Since there have been more people
- 11:36Speaker 7: that walked on the moon than Nick Saban had losses.
- 11:39Speaker 7: I think from twenty fourteen to twenty twenty.
- 11:41Speaker 1: That is an insane stat great stat. Also, hey, we
- 11:46Speaker 1: can't forget about Jim Harble. If he goes and wins
- 11:48Speaker 1: one with the Chargers, like he might be one of
- 11:51Speaker 1: the greatest ever.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Get look at Andy Reid here, playoff record. Andy Reid
- 11:54Speaker 5: is twenty six and sixteen Sabin Bowl games, nineteen and
- 11:58Speaker 5: twelve regular season overall record. You got two hundred and
- 12:01Speaker 5: fifty eight one forty four and one for Andy Reid,
- 12:05Speaker 5: two ninety seven and seventy one for Nick Saban champion.
- 12:13Speaker 5: Excuse me, championships? You got three Super Bowl, three time
- 12:16Speaker 5: Super Bowl champion Andy Reid, two different teams. Right, No,
- 12:20Speaker 5: I think he won.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I don't think the Eagles he won. Peterson won with
- 12:24Speaker 2: the Eagles.
- 12:25Speaker 5: He made the NFC Championship a couple of times.
- 12:28Speaker 2: He went to like three NFC championships in a row
- 12:30Speaker 2: and then lost.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Does that pull Andy Reid from our list?
- 12:33Speaker 5: Now? He lost seven time national champion Nick Saban conference titles.
- 12:41Speaker 5: You got Andy Reid, who's a six time NFC champion,
- 12:44Speaker 5: six time AFC champion. That's twelve total conference titles and
- 12:50Speaker 5: uh Saban has ten, only ten titles on time, only ten. Man,
- 12:58Speaker 5: I think my argument for saving these are the two
- 13:01Speaker 5: best in my opinion.
- 13:02Speaker 10: My argument for saving is this, When Andy Reid gets players,
- 13:06Speaker 10: they're already developed, coached up NFL professionals. Nick Saban creates
- 13:10Speaker 10: professional football players. So to me, if you're going off
- 13:13Speaker 10: of greatest coach.
- 13:14Speaker 5: He I mean, you still get littered with all the
- 13:17Speaker 5: sure development development.
- 13:20Speaker 1: You're getting all the five So what you want to
- 13:21Speaker 1: go about development? And then we can go back to
- 13:22Speaker 1: Jim Harball. He gets three star guys.
- 13:24Speaker 10: I love Jim Harball's that's a good answer. He has
- 13:26Speaker 10: the highest win percentage right now in the NFL. I
- 13:28Speaker 10: think it's seventy five percent is what it is. Seventy
- 13:31Speaker 10: might be seventy four point nine.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Don't quote me.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Hardball by the Horrorball by the end of his career
- 13:36Speaker 5: absolutely could be. In that conversation, I think.
- 13:37Speaker 1: He's he's got to get one, because.
- 13:40Speaker 5: One he'd be the first one to oh wait, no,
- 13:42Speaker 5: that is why am I? Why am I blowing this
- 13:46Speaker 5: right now?
- 13:46Speaker 8: No?
- 13:46Speaker 5: Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carroll, Pete Carroll. Yeah, super Bowl
- 13:51Speaker 5: National tip.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, so I'm talking out of my ass saying
- 13:53Speaker 1: the first one, like Jimmy Johnson was nice.
- 13:55Speaker 5: He ended up just retiring. He just wants to go.
- 13:57Speaker 5: He just wants to be in Florida on his boat
- 13:59Speaker 5: was one of the dip.
- 14:00Speaker 9: What impresses me the most about Harball is what he
- 14:02Speaker 9: did at Stanford, because that's a program that a lot
- 14:04Speaker 9: of people back in the day were like in modern era,
- 14:08Speaker 9: you will never with the expectations they have for their
- 14:11Speaker 9: players academically, the type of players they're bringing in, you
- 14:14Speaker 9: can never bring championship football to Stanford, and he did
- 14:17Speaker 9: just that. He obviously has other accolades, but that's the
- 14:20Speaker 9: most impressive to me. Their entire football program since then
- 14:24Speaker 9: they're kind of down the dunts right now was due
- 14:26Speaker 9: to Harball.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I mean, buddy, you don got to talk about the
- 14:28Speaker 1: academic standard.
- 14:29Speaker 2: To me.
- 14:30Speaker 1: When I was at Chaparral High School, Harball and Stanford
- 14:33Speaker 1: came to my school. We're like, hey, we love what
- 14:34Speaker 1: you do, and they saw my transcript. They laughed, they laughed,
- 14:37Speaker 1: and so there's no way you're getting in. There's no
- 14:40Speaker 1: way you're getting into Stanford. They don't budge when it
- 14:43Speaker 1: comes Michigan's top fifteen public school in the world. Yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 1: they were like, we will figure a couple of things
- 14:48Speaker 1: out for you. They got my ACT score was like
- 14:50Speaker 1: a twenty nine. But like Stanford was like, you're not
- 14:53Speaker 1: getting in with that GPA. Brother, Oh yeah, that's a
- 14:56Speaker 1: strong strong thank you, thank you, thank you. I appreciate
- 15:00Speaker 1: you know, lollless sleep the GPA.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Strike them with the ACT. It's out of what thirty six?
- 15:05Speaker 1: Right?
- 15:05Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 15:06Speaker 5: Yeah, thirty six? That's strong.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Thanks, That makes no sense.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Well, I am an anomaly. I am a one, so
- 15:14Speaker 1: it is all good with the G B A. Strike
- 15:17Speaker 1: him with the A C T. Yeah, sleep, kid. Happening
- 15:21Speaker 1: in happiness in life is low expectations. So I think
- 15:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna put my foot in the ground just for
- 15:25Speaker 1: this conversation right Now'm gonna Sandy Reid.
- 15:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I think NFL. NFL is the hardest championship to win.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I'm gonna go.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Nick saven oh in sports clump with Nick Saban. The
- 15:37Speaker 5: thing with college though, is like if you have a
- 15:39Speaker 5: dominant team, which Bama had, there's only a few teams
- 15:42Speaker 5: that might be challenging you for that national title. The
- 15:44Speaker 5: NFL like it's it's any it's any given Sunday. Margin
- 15:50Speaker 5: of error in the NFL, like the majority of games
- 15:53Speaker 5: is one possession or less. Everybody's got dogs.
- 15:58Speaker 2: You're not seeing seventy to three games.
- 16:01Speaker 5: In the NFL. That's what you That's why when you
- 16:03Speaker 5: think about the.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Dynasty Miami Broncos last year.
- 16:11Speaker 5: Coming in, you think CT wrong acronym.
- 16:14Speaker 2: That's that's one a season.
- 16:15Speaker 7: But like just this past weekend there were four games
- 16:18Speaker 7: that was sixty eight to three or something like that.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, you are absolutely right. I just want
- 16:23Speaker 1: to put in my little.
- 16:24Speaker 10: Love and read obviously, But it goes to the Bill
- 16:26Speaker 10: Belichick argument. He did not win a Super Bowl after
- 16:29Speaker 10: Brady left. Andy Reid has not won a Super Bowl
- 16:31Speaker 10: without Patrick Mahomes. So to me, that's like the thing.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Yeah, but he's yeah, I feel you. But he was
- 16:37Speaker 5: still a conference champion with the Eagles.
- 16:39Speaker 2: They're good, they're great.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Couldn't get it done? Sure, who's your who doesn't break
- 16:45Speaker 5: his foot?
- 16:46Speaker 9: I think I would have to go with I love
- 16:48Speaker 9: Nick Staban, but I think I would have to go
- 16:49Speaker 9: with the Andy Reid just because of how long he's
- 16:53Speaker 9: been doing it. Across the board in the NFL. I
- 16:55Speaker 9: don't think that's ever been matched. And to see him
- 16:57Speaker 9: doing it in two different conferences is razy. To see
- 17:02Speaker 9: him doing it and some really hard places historically before
- 17:05Speaker 9: he got there to win championships. I I don't know.
- 17:10Speaker 9: I think he's probably one of the best, if not
- 17:14Speaker 9: the best, all time.
- 17:15Speaker 5: You just think about the dynasties of the Patriots and
- 17:18Speaker 5: the Chiefs. It's like, how just rare and incredible it
- 17:21Speaker 5: is that we get to witness that like college like
- 17:24Speaker 5: Bamo was sitting there dominating the whole time. It's not
- 17:26Speaker 5: I mean, it's it's it's a huge accomplishment for coach
- 17:29Speaker 5: Saban in the Alabama like organization. But I feel like
- 17:33Speaker 5: you you come across more dominant, like somebody who has
- 17:36Speaker 5: like just a dominant era in college football than you
- 17:39Speaker 5: do the NFL.
- 17:40Speaker 10: I'm fine with that one thing though, Love you, Mitch.
- 17:42Speaker 10: But we can all agree it's not Joe Paterno, right,
- 17:44Speaker 10: we can we.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Can all agree.
- 17:47Speaker 2: I just going, yeah, he has the most wins of
- 17:49Speaker 2: all times. That's what I was going on with.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got a lot of things.
- 17:53Speaker 5: He's got a lot of things in that closet.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of.
- 17:56Speaker 5: Things going on.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Had He's dead now stream recap listen. We already talked
- 18:00Speaker 1: about a little bit at the beginning of this intro
- 18:02Speaker 1: Will conference said it very poetically, but the stream has
- 18:05Speaker 1: been very successful from bus with the boy standards. We
- 18:07Speaker 1: really appreciate everybody joining in being a part of the chat.
- 18:09Speaker 1: We will be doing that every single Thursday night football
- 18:12Speaker 1: during the NFL season, aside from your Thanksgiving and your
- 18:15Speaker 1: Christmas boys listening, and we have families, We're not going
- 18:17Speaker 1: to be doing it put our families in the position
- 18:20Speaker 1: Saturday's periodically. I believe the next game we're going to
- 18:22Speaker 1: stream is going to be Oregon at Penn State for
- 18:24Speaker 1: a wide out game. That's exciting. ESPN. We did our
- 18:28Speaker 1: first get up at ESPN last week, and if I
- 18:32Speaker 1: was to sit there and tell you we were calm, cool,
- 18:34Speaker 1: collected the entire time, no would be the answer, because
- 18:37Speaker 1: we were shitting ourselves up until I don't know five
- 18:39Speaker 1: minutes after it started. I think five minutes it is
- 18:42Speaker 1: when I thought to myself, Oh, we're gonna be okay,
- 18:44Speaker 1: this is gonna be this is gonna be fun time.
- 18:46Speaker 1: They're allowing us to be us like this is a
- 18:48Speaker 1: good deal.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Yeah, a lot of a lot of pre pro nerves.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of pre pro nerves. Saran would love
- 18:55Speaker 1: it if you went back to the thing as well.
- 18:56Speaker 5: When you're sitting in there with with Greenie on that
- 18:59Speaker 5: pre production, he's like, yeah, what do you think about this?
- 19:02Speaker 5: I was just thinking, like Dan probably has something.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, dude. When they were the first off,
- 19:12Speaker 1: ESPN sends a run of show to Will, I get
- 19:15Speaker 1: a text. I was on the phone with one of
- 19:17Speaker 1: the producers. Get done with him, and they're like, all right,
- 19:19Speaker 1: we'll email you something. I'm like, okay, goes over a
- 19:22Speaker 1: bunch of games that I'm like, I really got to
- 19:23Speaker 1: read up on a bunch of these games and I
- 19:24Speaker 1: get to test from Will says.
- 19:26Speaker 5: Body like sixteen hours before kickoff.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Sixteen hours before kickoff, like we do not prepare for
- 19:30Speaker 1: a game. I call him and I go, what's up?
- 19:32Speaker 5: Man?
- 19:32Speaker 1: He goes, did you see what we have to talk about?
- 19:34Speaker 1: I was like no, I just thought you're a producer.
- 19:36Speaker 1: It seemed like it was all right. He's like, Body,
- 19:38Speaker 1: double down on the buddy forwards me the email of
- 19:41Speaker 1: all the games we're gonna talk about I'm like, oh
- 19:43Speaker 1: my god, sixty questions. We might be in hell, we
- 19:47Speaker 1: might be in over our boots a little bit. Yeah,
- 19:49Speaker 1: And to this moment, I still have not gotten the
- 19:52Speaker 1: rundown from ESPN. I would not have gotten if it
- 19:54Speaker 1: was for Will forwarding it to me.
- 19:56Speaker 5: So better operation will get we win football, and we
- 20:01Speaker 5: ate a lot of things we could done better at.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I'll say this had an absolute blast.
- 20:05Speaker 5: It was so much fun.
- 20:07Speaker 1: And it was fun because it wasn't like, hey, be
- 20:11Speaker 1: Daniel Olofsky or be these other other types of personalities.
- 20:14Speaker 1: They are like, hey, here's an area for you just
- 20:16Speaker 1: to be yourselves. And so we got a little football talking,
- 20:19Speaker 1: but a lot of jokes at of fun times. We'll
- 20:20Speaker 1: make a comment about Miles Garrett's take on national television
- 20:23Speaker 1: give me the Hammer and the Gray Hammer, and the
- 20:25Speaker 1: Gray said, I'm not taking the hammer in the grades.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I'm actual gonna take Trey Hendrickson instead. As far as
- 20:29Speaker 1: Morris Sachs go, fun time, it's gonna be a great
- 20:33Speaker 1: time all year. Another thing that's gonna be a great
- 20:35Speaker 1: time all year is our fantasy football league. We have
- 20:38Speaker 1: eight teams of two individuals. I'll just speak for myself
- 20:41Speaker 1: and myself only come by played your team last week?
- 20:45Speaker 1: Yes you did, and what do we do? Beat the
- 20:48Speaker 1: shit out of you guys? But me and Koop Comstock
- 20:52Speaker 1: were the only team with the logo where the r
- 20:54Speaker 1: y A Shockers here to shock the world, and we
- 20:57Speaker 1: started our season.
- 20:59Speaker 5: I want to know. We're in a barn burner right now.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Well it comes down tonight.
- 21:04Speaker 7: Yeah, we me and shout out Derek, we have we
- 21:08Speaker 7: have DeAndre Swift.
- 21:10Speaker 5: That's it.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you guys had.
- 21:12Speaker 5: We got TJ. Hockinson and DJ Moore.
- 21:14Speaker 2: And we're up by seven.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Yeah, from this heroic ending with Josh Allen. Because I'm
- 21:20Speaker 5: sitting there, I'm like, all right, we got we got Mitch.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Could we be the highest score in the league this week?
- 21:24Speaker 5: And it's like, okay, we're sitting there with Hockinson and
- 21:25Speaker 5: DJ Moore, but yeah, right now, Mitch's squad's up because
- 21:29Speaker 5: Josh Allen late in the game.
- 21:30Speaker 2: That was with Xavier Worthy getting hurt on first game.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Yeah, you see some of those things early and you're
- 21:36Speaker 1: just like, oh my god, I know, bro.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Quick shout out to FanDuel, dude.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I had a little parlay put in for that Friday
- 21:42Speaker 1: night game in Brazil Chargers Chiefs and Xavier You're worthy.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I think it was over catches or something in part
- 21:47Speaker 1: of my parlay. He gets hurt the first series of
- 21:50Speaker 1: the game, and I'm like, my parlay is fucking dead.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It turns out, fandle if somebody gets hurt during your game,
- 21:55Speaker 1: there's some sort of void that takes place. I know
- 21:58Speaker 1: I'm not doing the fine Prentice correct as I should. However,
- 22:01Speaker 1: Big Dub still lost to Parlay, but knowing it was
- 22:04Speaker 1: still alive after the first.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Series is a good game because he got what like
- 22:07Speaker 5: a parlay insurance bet protect It's called protect Protecture.
- 22:11Speaker 7: Your player gets hurt in the first quarter and he's
- 22:13Speaker 7: like the only leg that doesn't hit, then I believe
- 22:18Speaker 7: if like the bet still hits and he's the only
- 22:19Speaker 7: one that doesn't, you get your winnings in bonus bets
- 22:23Speaker 7: love it. And I think if your player just gets
- 22:25Speaker 7: hurt at all, I think you just get whatever you
- 22:28Speaker 7: like put down in that back.
- 22:30Speaker 1: So last thing on the fantasy unless anybody has anything
- 22:33Speaker 1: else to jump in on. The loser whoever gets the
- 22:35Speaker 1: worst in the league will have to do a twenty
- 22:37Speaker 1: four hour stream with their teammate. That is what will
- 22:40Speaker 1: have to happen. My hope is that JP and Clay
- 22:43Speaker 1: Matthews get last as I'd love to see JP and
- 22:45Speaker 1: Clay Matthews for twenty four hours in the stream. No
- 22:47Speaker 1: direspect to the two of it. I just think that
- 22:49Speaker 1: dynamic will be hilarious. Second best to me, this is
- 22:51Speaker 1: essentially one B Will Compton and Matt Malone. I think
- 22:54Speaker 1: that that is that's everything and more. That actually might
- 22:58Speaker 1: be my new one age to say it out out
- 23:00Speaker 1: because Will's reaction when he got Matt Malone tells me
- 23:03Speaker 1: everything I need to know about the team dynamic in there.
- 23:05Speaker 1: The culture of that room is a little tough right now.
- 23:09Speaker 5: Or hey, we're smooth sailing right now. We've had some
- 23:11Speaker 5: late night down by seven conversations.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Matt was talking about He was like, Friday night,
- 23:17Speaker 1: you're talking about getting queen uh Quinn Johnson from the
- 23:21Speaker 1: Chargers Friday night off of Waivers and Matt's hammered at
- 23:25Speaker 1: a bar trying to keep up with the conversation.
- 23:29Speaker 7: You gotta talk to you gotta talk to Matt though,
- 23:31Speaker 7: because he seems like he came up to me. He's
- 23:33Speaker 7: like damn, Like you're your team is beating my team.
- 23:36Speaker 7: It's not our team, it's.
- 23:38Speaker 5: We gotta change the name because right now it's like
- 23:40Speaker 5: Team Malone.
- 23:41Speaker 2: It's like Malone's Magnificent team or something.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Yeah, you're just magnificent. Your's is magnificent Mitch.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Or Mitch's magnificent team. Yeah, but Matt yours is all
- 23:50Speaker 2: about you too. I'm not saying my team.
- 23:53Speaker 7: I'm saying me and like Derek and I team Mitch's magnificent, magnificent.
- 23:58Speaker 1: The team did whatever the fantasy league did.
- 24:01Speaker 5: They they make it.
- 24:02Speaker 7: They assigned that. I trust me, I would not have
- 24:05Speaker 7: made it Mit his magnificent team.
- 24:07Speaker 11: I'll tell you that.
- 24:07Speaker 1: We'll have to look into that, because that's crazy shaded Malonmo.
- 24:11Speaker 1: You guys have the same exact thing.
- 24:14Speaker 5: At he's good for comments like that, like that's just
- 24:17Speaker 5: that's Matt. You gotta love them. Yeah, you gotta love them.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Matt too.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Have to love him. It's like a son, like you
- 24:23Speaker 1: know you're gonna like him. You gotta love him, Yeah,
- 24:25Speaker 1: no doubt. October ninth, as far as just do the
- 24:28Speaker 1: little housekeeping stuff. October ninth, we're doing a Titans watch party.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Where's that gonna be at? October October fifth? October October
- 24:36Speaker 1: fifth Brooklyn Bowl, the Brooklyn Bowl on the Tennessee Titans.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Oh way one right now, but there's a lot of
- 24:42Speaker 1: football left ahead of us. Also, Bust with the Boys
- 24:45Speaker 1: Live show at the Rococo Theater. You can go to
- 24:47Speaker 1: bwtv dot com get the merch, get the stuff, but
- 24:50Speaker 1: you can also get tickets to that live show along
- 24:52Speaker 1: with the tailgate that is taking place before the third
- 24:56Speaker 1: is the third annual, Third annual Bust and Ball shirt
- 24:59Speaker 1: that will comptence hold up right now, Yes, Busting Bull merch,
- 25:02Speaker 1: Busting Ball in the front.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Awesome design on the teams on there. Uh, if you
- 25:08Speaker 5: want one, if you just want it full fully frontal,
- 25:10Speaker 5: you want to say naked in front of your mirror
- 25:12Speaker 5: in rock Kills. Yeah, it's a good piece.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Just kind of tipping right over the shirt because they're
- 25:18Speaker 1: a little long.
- 25:18Speaker 5: Sure have it?
- 25:19Speaker 1: Just just a just a tip of that boy gone, hello,
- 25:22Speaker 1: I'm here. Uh yeah. So nine to nineteen, Will Compton's
- 25:26Speaker 1: birthday is the live show. Nine to twenty, we will
- 25:30Speaker 1: be doing a tailgate. A lot of people have already
- 25:32Speaker 1: RSVP for that. That's very exciting, bust and bull merch
- 25:35Speaker 1: Will just showed you it's gonna be a hell of
- 25:37Speaker 1: a year. If you're wondering, hey, is Taylor worried? Is
- 25:39Speaker 1: he nervous about the Bustle Bowl? After Michigan's uh, we'll
- 25:43Speaker 1: just call it upsetting defeat against the Oklahoma Sooners. You
- 25:47Speaker 1: go back to Monday's episode and watch that. We address
- 25:50Speaker 1: everything in that situation.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Yeah, and again we tapped in with our partners at
- 25:54Speaker 5: fan duel. Michigan favored at Nebraska is still minus three
- 25:58Speaker 5: and a half. If they were to play at a
- 25:59Speaker 5: neutral site, Michigan would be favored by six and a half.
- 26:03Speaker 5: The over under on that right now as it stands
- 26:05Speaker 5: forty five and a half points. Listen, I got a
- 26:11Speaker 5: text earlier with the video of the halftime speech of
- 26:14Speaker 5: coach Rule against Achron. I'm talking, buddy, get your piss hot.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I'm talking, Buddy, stick with me here, Buddy, listen to me, Buddy,
- 26:27Speaker 1: look at me, Buddy. They might be onto something.
- 26:32Speaker 10: I was gonna say he took some motivation from your
- 26:34Speaker 10: hype video.
- 26:34Speaker 5: Maybe yeah, he shot me a personal text talking about
- 26:37Speaker 5: it was a banger. Hikes videos are back in memorial
- 26:43Speaker 5: they are gonna be spots this year. That's not every
- 26:45Speaker 5: home game. There's a lot on the boys just play.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Sure you did an incredible job putting that together, but
- 26:50Speaker 5: there will be four five games that I'm doing it.
- 26:53Speaker 5: And the videos are back in I know, and they
- 26:55Speaker 5: got you juiced up for Akron. Huh, they thought, oh
- 26:57Speaker 5: we need comf He's only doing a handful of these ones.
- 26:59Speaker 5: His time is, he doesn't have a whole lot of
- 27:01Speaker 5: time his hands. Let's make sure that he gets Achron
- 27:03Speaker 5: out there. You gotta kick off the home opener, you
- 27:06Speaker 5: know what I mean. We're back in Memorial Stadium and like,
- 27:08Speaker 5: look at the results of the game. I'm not saying
- 27:10Speaker 5: it's my hype video, but played a very small, very
- 27:14Speaker 5: small part.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Right, but a part nonetheless. Yeah, question is nebrask Cornoss
- 27:18Speaker 1: win the national championship?
- 27:19Speaker 5: Is we'll calm think it a ring, I think without
- 27:23Speaker 5: a doubt, ring Like I'm not even gonna sit here
- 27:25Speaker 5: and plead for it. I'm thinking I am entitled to
- 27:28Speaker 5: a national championship. I am in my brain, I am
- 27:31Speaker 5: on the team.
- 27:31Speaker 1: If you if the Nebraska, if the Nebraska Cornerskers win
- 27:34Speaker 1: the national championship, you are entitled to a ring. They
- 27:37Speaker 1: do not send you a ring. They don't even contact
- 27:39Speaker 1: you by a ring. How are you handling that?
- 27:41Speaker 5: I don't even have to think about it because if
- 27:42Speaker 5: we win the Natty number one, I'm gonna be there.
- 27:45Speaker 5: But everybody's gonna be like, hey, you coming to the
- 27:46Speaker 5: parade or we gotta get you here, we gotta get
- 27:48Speaker 5: you there. And it's like, whatever you guys need from me.
- 27:51Speaker 9: They would they let you suit out for the Natty.
- 27:54Speaker 9: You think they would let you see it out?
- 27:55Speaker 5: Just suit up, just wear the pads and stuff, be
- 27:58Speaker 5: on the sideline. Yeah, I'm sure if I asked, Yeah, yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 2: You can literally do whatever.
- 28:05Speaker 1: He could do whatever he wants.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Best relationship with the Huskers. You guys see the light
- 28:10Speaker 5: show in the fourth quarter, Well, I don't know what's
- 28:13Speaker 5: funny about that. That ship is incredible.
- 28:15Speaker 2: They put five one out there.
- 28:16Speaker 5: They didn't put five to one, but they kind of
- 28:18Speaker 5: showed the pick of They kind of showed the pick
- 28:21Speaker 5: from the week before against Cincinnati, him going up to
- 28:23Speaker 5: get it. They got the black shirt logo, They got
- 28:25Speaker 5: a lot of cool shit.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I thot you're about to say they showed the pick
- 28:27Speaker 2: from your Georgia game.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I thought you're gonna say the Holiday Ball too. Oh,
- 28:34Speaker 1: so we're doing a new thing. I'm bustled with the boys.
- 28:36Speaker 1: If you haven't seen it or heard it, I'm gonna
- 28:38Speaker 1: tell you now as you're listening with your ears or
- 28:40Speaker 1: watching with your what you got.
- 28:41Speaker 5: I was gonna say you shout you should shout out?
- 28:43Speaker 5: Are this is our Tier one, this is our guy.
- 28:45Speaker 5: We got to shout in at Keilob Ingram for the
- 28:47Speaker 5: first one.
- 28:49Speaker 1: So what I was gonna say before is, uh, the teers.
- 28:52Speaker 1: We're doing tear talk. So during the football weekend, if
- 28:54Speaker 1: there's a question, concerned or a comment you'd like to
- 28:56Speaker 1: make that you want the Boys to address, use hashtag
- 28:59Speaker 1: tear talk and comments and your own specific tweet. We
- 29:04Speaker 1: will find them with the hashtag and we will address
- 29:07Speaker 1: all of your questions, comments, or concerned. This one comes
- 29:09Speaker 1: from Caleb Ingram.
- 29:11Speaker 5: Tier one.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Tier one says the Boys are crushing it right now.
- 29:16Speaker 1: What's next outside of keeping the bottom of the pod rolling?
- 29:19Speaker 1: What's the next big goal that's going to really move
- 29:22Speaker 1: the needle for y'all? Hashtags here talk will.
- 29:26Speaker 5: Can't tell you no idea. Can I tell you?
- 29:28Speaker 1: I think one thing that makes this show successful is
- 29:31Speaker 1: we really don't know what we're doing. I think that's
- 29:33Speaker 1: like the one of the more beauties. We can have
- 29:35Speaker 1: the meetings, we can do, the brainstorms, we can get
- 29:38Speaker 1: on the whiteboard all we want. At the end of
- 29:39Speaker 1: the day, opportunities come, opportunities go. It depends on what
- 29:42Speaker 1: door we decide to open. And to be clear, I
- 29:45Speaker 1: like the doors we've opened so far. Yeah, I've enjoyed
- 29:47Speaker 1: the doors we've been opening.
- 29:48Speaker 5: No notes, It's more of like you get hit up
- 29:50Speaker 5: for opportunities and we're just thinking, like they think we
- 29:53Speaker 5: can do that, get up ESPNB and one they think
- 29:56Speaker 5: we can be on a part of that. Yeah, like
- 29:58Speaker 5: that would be sick.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Let's go there.
- 30:00Speaker 5: We get to go every Thursday. Yeah, Like Lily, most.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Are the boys just a failure. We're just failures. We
- 30:05Speaker 1: just continue to fail forward. That's what we do.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Put them to sleep with the GPA.
- 30:09Speaker 1: And then you come over the top with the ACT
- 30:12Speaker 1: and then sprinkle in some CT We're on our.
- 30:14Speaker 5: First professional conversation with the ESPN and where'd you just ask, uh,
- 30:18Speaker 5: do we have to wear anything in particular? Yeah, and
- 30:20Speaker 5: they're just like whatever.
- 30:21Speaker 1: One of the head execs from ESPN heard that I
- 30:24Speaker 1: was asking about you know, is there a dress code?
- 30:26Speaker 1: He texted me, no context, assless chaps. So gotta say,
- 30:32Speaker 1: right now, film pretty good about the partnership with the ESPN.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Right now, I will be wearing True Classic every single
- 30:37Speaker 1: week except for next week. If you guys want to
- 30:39Speaker 1: see what I'm gonna wear next week, I'm sure we'll
- 30:41Speaker 1: come to We'll be wearing something matching. You will see
- 30:43Speaker 1: it that Thursday, But this Thursday, the uniform you see
- 30:46Speaker 1: in front of you is uniform you're probably gonna get.
- 30:48Speaker 7: Okay, for the people, for the boys in the back
- 30:50Speaker 7: that our goal is to get to three quarters of
- 30:53Speaker 7: a million subscribers.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Saying, so seven and fifty thousands of I'm alamo right now.
- 31:01Speaker 1: The old from It's All Good, Dave want a little
- 31:04Speaker 1: bit choke on you. He cut up the gas line.
- 31:06Speaker 1: It wasn't working too hot, right there. You your goal
- 31:09Speaker 1: for the end of this year, for the end of
- 31:10Speaker 1: this year is to get one hundred thousand more subscribers,
- 31:14Speaker 1: and we have a seven hundred and fifty thousand.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I think we need ninety. I'm pretty sure we're almost
- 31:20Speaker 2: at six sixty.
- 31:21Speaker 5: Okay, ninety.
- 31:23Speaker 1: So for Mitch Cars to be happy with Bustin's productivity
- 31:26Speaker 1: this year, we need to get ninety thousand subscribers between
- 31:30Speaker 1: now September eighth to January first, That's what I'm hearing.
- 31:34Speaker 7: No, I'm just saying that's not thurther for the year.
- 31:37Speaker 7: I'm just saying for the next goal, Like we're going
- 31:38Speaker 7: to keep.
- 31:39Speaker 5: Moving, getting the getting, the getting the.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Three quarters, and then the goal after that will be
- 31:43Speaker 1: a mill a million. What's the goal after that? We
- 31:46Speaker 1: made it one point two? Oh, that's it. After that
- 31:49Speaker 1: you shut it down, you get a million. You get
- 31:50Speaker 1: the cool goal.
- 31:51Speaker 7: Play a million too, Like a million, we get a
- 31:54Speaker 7: gold a gold plaque up there, dude.
- 31:56Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now, it'll be a mass of
- 32:00Speaker 1: moment when we get that because it eventually, like it
- 32:02Speaker 1: might take ten years, it might take three years, it
- 32:04Speaker 1: might take you know, one year. Eventually we will have
- 32:06Speaker 1: a million subscribers, and when that day comes, it's gonna
- 32:09Speaker 1: be one of the coolest feelings of the entire world.
- 32:12Speaker 1: We got to figure out a way to get one
- 32:13Speaker 1: of those plats for everybody, so well one for you
- 32:16Speaker 1: to me at least, But like we gotta just suck,
- 32:21Speaker 1: but getting that that having that plaque like it would
- 32:24Speaker 1: be unbelievable. A milli party, milli party, I think so
- 32:29Speaker 1: maybe a stream when we get to nine to ninety,
- 32:31Speaker 1: we sit in a stream. We don't come out until
- 32:33Speaker 1: we're at a million. It's thank you full of them.
- 32:36Speaker 5: It's some social network.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Hot lines, hot lines hot lines right absolutely.
- 32:43Speaker 5: Right where I get like, I'm curious too, like what
- 32:45Speaker 5: the audience thinks because we have a lot of content
- 32:48Speaker 5: that comes out, like on our social channels or on
- 32:50Speaker 5: our YouTube. Like part of me is like, do we
- 32:53Speaker 5: separate and put the locker room on its own channel
- 32:56Speaker 5: just because we have so much We have so much
- 32:59Speaker 5: content that comes out, It's like I don't know if
- 33:01Speaker 5: some stuff gets lost in the sauce.
- 33:04Speaker 1: And if you're on the home page of YouTube, you
- 33:05Speaker 1: have to scroll quite a ways to get to the
- 33:07Speaker 1: locker room. Like there's a lot of extra bells.
- 33:09Speaker 5: And what I always do is I just hit videos
- 33:11Speaker 5: and then you just go to the recent videos. But
- 33:13Speaker 5: we got you know, we got a long form clips
- 33:15Speaker 5: that come out. Yeah, there's a playlist for the lock
- 33:17Speaker 5: for the locker rooms. But it's like with our football
- 33:20Speaker 5: reaction show, it's like that'll be on Monday, then busting
- 33:23Speaker 5: on Tuesday. Wednesday is the locker Room, college Football, Thursday
- 33:27Speaker 5: is NFL's locker Room. Friday is inside the Bus, Fridays
- 33:31Speaker 5: Inside the Bus, and Dads that's on it, that's on
- 33:35Speaker 5: its own channel. Now I'm talking more about the YouTube.
- 33:38Speaker 5: With all this stuff that kind of comes out on there,
- 33:40Speaker 5: I just get curious, like what it does with the algorithms,
- 33:42Speaker 5: if the audience sees it, if they're like, oh, damn,
- 33:44Speaker 5: I didn't know that they were doing this. I didn't
- 33:45Speaker 5: know if they were doing that. We do vlogs. You
- 33:47Speaker 5: got bus scenes, you got under the hood, we got
- 33:50Speaker 5: our quick vlogs, Like we just dropped the vlog of
- 33:53Speaker 5: just our day at ESPN. It's like we have all
- 33:55Speaker 5: that stuff coming out, content that you take from the episodes.
- 33:59Speaker 5: We got a lot of shit that comes out having fun.
- 34:02Speaker 5: We are. We're having a great day.
- 34:03Speaker 1: That is one thing we're doing boys, is we're having
- 34:05Speaker 1: a good fucking time. And it's only week two. It's
- 34:09Speaker 1: it can only go up from here or the way down.
- 34:11Speaker 5: Who knows.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Actually there's a lot of ways you could go. But
- 34:13Speaker 1: I'm having fun right now and that's that's what's cool.
- 34:16Speaker 7: Speaking about having fun. I'm gonna just take a little
- 34:18Speaker 7: selfish time real quick. Oh, it has been three years
- 34:22Speaker 7: since you guys hired me, so I wanted to say
- 34:24Speaker 7: thanks today.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Mitch, that's that selfish at all. That's fucking awesome.
- 34:30Speaker 7: Yeah, it's been I got like a like pictures and
- 34:33Speaker 7: stuff like, so three years ago today, Will is when
- 34:35Speaker 7: you called me and you texted me.
- 34:37Speaker 2: This is Will Compton for picture for reference. But yeah,
- 34:40Speaker 2: oh with the LinkedIn thing.
- 34:43Speaker 7: But yeah, So it's been three years, the best three
- 34:45Speaker 7: years of my life. Thank you guys for letting me
- 34:47Speaker 7: be a part of this and bringing me on. I
- 34:49Speaker 7: can't thank you guys.
- 34:50Speaker 1: All Right, we're Mitch dude.
- 34:52Speaker 5: I have a question, Mitch, if you can take the podium,
- 34:55Speaker 5: we're where would you rank this for best decisions of
- 34:59Speaker 5: your life?
- 35:01Speaker 2: Coming to be busting? Yeah, busting probably number one. What's
- 35:06Speaker 2: number two? Probably moving to Charlotte.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Was number three?
- 35:14Speaker 2: Is that the answer?
- 35:15Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 35:17Speaker 7: Probably going to my buddy's apartment that one day so
- 35:20Speaker 7: I could meet my girlfriend in the elevator.
- 35:23Speaker 5: What's number four?
- 35:24Speaker 1: Thoughhanna five? Here's what I'm trying to get at the
- 35:33Speaker 1: yearly caroling making the decision to keep that dream alive
- 35:36Speaker 1: every single year.
- 35:37Speaker 5: Oh it's your boys, man, your boys.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's happening every year.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Hey, listen, it's a choice every year.
- 35:44Speaker 5: What excites me is you have so much life to live, Like,
- 35:47Speaker 5: you haven't gotten married, you don't have kids, Like these
- 35:49Speaker 5: moments that I'll just you.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Know eventually, like your decision or you're getting busted with
- 35:53Speaker 1: the boys, job will be four or five. Buddy, getting
- 35:57Speaker 1: married is going to be one if you pick the
- 35:59Speaker 1: right person. Having your first kid, but you have your
- 36:01Speaker 1: first kid, it's a fucking.
- 36:04Speaker 7: It's not like greatest things in your like greatest days
- 36:06Speaker 7: of your life, but like best decision definitely, Like it'd
- 36:10Speaker 7: probably be moving to Charlotte to get the NASCAR, to
- 36:13Speaker 7: then have that on my resume to then get this job.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Like that's a great decision on my part.
- 36:17Speaker 5: There is a tear talk here that would be great
- 36:19Speaker 5: since we're talking about Mitch and his girlfriend. Uh. This
- 36:22Speaker 5: comes from Chris C. Kriegs eighty eight tear talk Boys
- 36:28Speaker 5: helped settle debate. I had it with friends last night
- 36:31Speaker 5: on a first date. If your date rips a fart
- 36:34Speaker 5: at any point is it over then? Question mark.
- 36:39Speaker 1: It's all about the context in which the fart is
- 36:40Speaker 1: brought out. If you're having a good time, you're laughing
- 36:43Speaker 1: maybe a lot. She goes into a big laugh, has
- 36:45Speaker 1: a two come out. I think that adds. It's like, oh,
- 36:48Speaker 1: this one's all right by me. I kind of I
- 36:50Speaker 1: kind of mess with that.
- 36:51Speaker 5: Now.
- 36:51Speaker 1: If she's being a bit of a bee, being a
- 36:53Speaker 1: bit of a B word, and then she like sneezes
- 36:56Speaker 1: in the then we're done. All right, you can't control
- 36:58Speaker 1: yourself and your bna B we got get out of here.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Those are my first initial thoughts. Not doing a lot
- 37:02Speaker 1: into it.
- 37:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think i'd ever I would never like
- 37:06Speaker 5: be like, oh, this is over now. However, if somebody
- 37:08Speaker 5: ripped the fart on the first day, like I'd be
- 37:10Speaker 5: a little oh is that what we're doing? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 37:14Speaker 5: oh ship, we're already there. Yeah people, yeah, people exactly. Yes, listen,
- 37:21Speaker 5: double standard, double standard.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Right man's world, you're not doing well, still lives in
- 37:26Speaker 1: the fifties and sixties.
- 37:27Speaker 2: You're not doing that on your first day with the
- 37:29Speaker 2: girl though. You're not gonna no, no, I'm not.
- 37:31Speaker 5: I didn't get comfortable ripping a fart until really I
- 37:35Speaker 5: was like married with Charrow. But oh my boys, it's like,
- 37:39Speaker 5: you know, everybody's got the wodletting far in front of
- 37:41Speaker 5: you type of thing.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Fair. Fair. I think it's all about context when it
- 37:46Speaker 1: comes to the two.
- 37:47Speaker 5: To me, I never want to believe the girls poop.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Still don't, Yeah, still don't.
- 37:53Speaker 2: And with that we're well.
- 37:54Speaker 1: There's a couple more tear talks here. We got one
- 37:56Speaker 1: from Aaron Orana. It's Aaron underscore of Iran. He says.
- 38:00Speaker 1: They say, got sure. What are your top five no
- 38:03Speaker 1: negotiable health habits or bio hacks that the lay person
- 38:07Speaker 1: should implement into their daily lives hashtag tier talk.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Off the top of my head, you gotta find a
- 38:16Speaker 5: coffee shop that have that have great ice lattes. M
- 38:22Speaker 5: you gotta have at least one evening and night to
- 38:24Speaker 5: where you're gooning and playing video games with the boys.
- 38:28Speaker 5: What else? Taylor fell out the rest?
- 38:33Speaker 1: I think if you need to stay hydrated, liquid ivy
- 38:39Speaker 1: liquid IV. I think if you need to, don't need to,
- 38:43Speaker 1: but maybe it would help if you're having a little
- 38:44Speaker 1: maybe a writer's block or creativity block. Get high, have
- 38:48Speaker 1: a couple hoots. Yeah, just a little bang, just a
- 38:51Speaker 1: touch band up right. I don't know I'm feeling. I'm
- 38:54Speaker 1: in a bit of a fog right now. Go ahead
- 38:55Speaker 1: and sit with yourself for a little bit. Change a
- 38:57Speaker 1: couple channels, get after it. Sit down there. The weather
- 39:00Speaker 1: they're starting to break right now, it's beautiful. We have
- 39:01Speaker 1: pit packages being delivered. Those are I think those are
- 39:05Speaker 1: for the soul.
- 39:06Speaker 5: Yeah, make sure you get a hotel room at least
- 39:07Speaker 5: once a month to just have time with yourself and
- 39:09Speaker 5: tuget out a little bit.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, nothing better than a hotel beating. You're nothing
- 39:14Speaker 1: better the hotel beat. But as far as like the
- 39:16Speaker 1: bio hacking, things that like are actually gonna help you
- 39:18Speaker 1: can't beat sleep, can't can't beat water. And then if
- 39:22Speaker 1: you get a chance every morning, get out, put your
- 39:23Speaker 1: feet on the ground, Put your feet the ground, get
- 39:25Speaker 1: yourself a little grounding, some direct sunlight. I think those
- 39:28Speaker 1: three things are gonna it's gonna charge up your day.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Having a morning routine sets the tone for the entire day. Hell,
- 39:33Speaker 1: sometimes the week.
- 39:34Speaker 5: Strength training, Yeah, moveing some weight, backstretches, backstretches. Yeah, for myself,
- 39:41Speaker 5: that's a that's a non negotiable right now. But yeah,
- 39:45Speaker 5: what does it get some sunlight? I'll tell you what
- 39:48Speaker 5: a little fun fact about I've already said, you get
- 39:51Speaker 5: a hotel room once a month just to get a
- 39:53Speaker 5: time insurance. Back there, going tell them to tugget. We
- 40:00Speaker 5: knocked that one out. Fun fact about sleep is your
- 40:04Speaker 5: your stages of sleep. To go through an entire cycle,
- 40:07Speaker 5: it takes ninety minutes, so one cycle, let me get
- 40:14Speaker 5: this right here, times five a night. What's that number?
- 40:17Speaker 1: One cycle times five a night, that's ninety times five. Yep,
- 40:20Speaker 1: that's forty five so before and fifty minutes.
- 40:23Speaker 5: Yeah, so seven and a half hours of sleep. You
- 40:25Speaker 5: can get seven and a half hours of sleep seven
- 40:28Speaker 5: days a week. That's a winner, right there. You got it?
- 40:32Speaker 5: You think of it. I was reading this book. I
- 40:33Speaker 5: read it when I was on the Titans. It's called
- 40:35Speaker 5: the book is called sleep. But instead of like everybody
- 40:38Speaker 5: gets very uh, their anxiety will pick up if they
- 40:42Speaker 5: don't hit whatever their expectations are in like a one
- 40:45Speaker 5: day cycle, zooming out and making it more like a
- 40:48Speaker 5: week cycle. So in cycles of sleep, like I said,
- 40:51Speaker 5: at one cycles of full ninety minutes, you think of
- 40:53Speaker 5: it in terms of I need to hit thirty five
- 40:56Speaker 5: cycles a week with sleep. So that way there might
- 40:59Speaker 5: be a night to where you have only six hours.
- 41:01Speaker 5: There might need to be another day where you sleep
- 41:03Speaker 5: in you get nine hours, but thirty five cycles of
- 41:06Speaker 5: sleep in a week if we're just going off asleep,
- 41:08Speaker 5: because sleep is the big one. Sleep is the big dog,
- 41:11Speaker 5: big sleep. Hydration. What is it with our boy Breca?
- 41:15Speaker 5: Some hydration, some sunlight, step on the grass, superhuman protocol,
- 41:19Speaker 5: laugh a little bit, laugh, laugh, have a joker to decide,
- 41:24Speaker 5: today's gonna be a great day.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Right, look in the mirror at night and say, I
- 41:27Speaker 1: cannot wait to see what's gonna happen to me tomorrow.
- 41:30Speaker 5: What's that?
- 41:31Speaker 1: No bad days, No bad days, no bad days.
- 41:34Speaker 5: That's eight right there, That's eight. That's it. You're welcome
- 41:37Speaker 5: gratitude at night time, when you're saying, hey, you're the man.
- 41:40Speaker 5: You're gonna knock this out of the park tomorrow, Say
- 41:42Speaker 5: a couple of things you're grateful for.
- 41:44Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. Actually, this is a true story.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Last night was a full moon, very deep on. When
- 41:48Speaker 1: you walk outside, it almost like there's lights on. During
- 41:51Speaker 1: full moon's a lot of energy shifts happened. My wife
- 41:54Speaker 1: and I took out three pieces of paper. What are
- 41:55Speaker 1: you giving up? What are you taking in? And what
- 41:57Speaker 1: are you grateful for? You road those things down and
- 42:00Speaker 1: we burned them and threw them in the fireplace. Reset
- 42:03Speaker 1: the energy. None of your fucking business.
- 42:05Speaker 5: I'm just kidding.
- 42:06Speaker 1: And none of your business. I'm not giving up nothing down.
- 42:09Speaker 5: What are you gonna do? Therapy? You give up none
- 42:12Speaker 5: of your business? Yeah, so it's about evingt shut the.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Uh. Matthew Santino.

- 48:50Speaker 5: At you on the bus.
- 48:52Speaker 8: Finally, it's really only Taylor got me on the bus.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I had to have. I've been working on you for
- 49:01Speaker 1: years and has been a bit of a deal. And
- 49:03Speaker 1: you guys tweeted back and forth a little bit, right,
- 49:05Speaker 1: That's how.
- 49:05Speaker 5: We've tweeted, We've texted, We've probably been on a call together.
- 49:08Speaker 5: And he's just he's the it's the politest way as
- 49:12Speaker 5: a businessman that I know him to be. When he
- 49:16Speaker 5: talks about his time, I can't I won't be able
- 49:19Speaker 5: to make it out. It's just the nicest way of
- 49:21Speaker 5: saying no. And I just think to myself, persevered, you're resilient.
- 49:25Speaker 8: We'll run, you know, I said, we gotta find the
- 49:30Speaker 8: right time, gotta be strategic, find the right place, right location.
- 49:34Speaker 8: And you got me to your hometown.
- 49:37Speaker 5: Man, Yes, I am fired up. Where should we Let's
- 49:39Speaker 5: start from the beginning.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 49:41Speaker 5: Ten pounds coming out in the hospital.
- 49:46Speaker 8: Yeah, pretty close. Yeah, mom was I think I was
- 49:49Speaker 8: like ten six or something like that.
- 49:50Speaker 11: So I was in a small belief.
- 49:52Speaker 8: So it was, I mean, a blessing in disguise in
- 49:56Speaker 8: a lot of ways to be born big. But I
- 50:00Speaker 8: I'm trying to cut weight now being retired, so I'm
- 50:02Speaker 8: down probably like almost thirty pounds.
- 50:04Speaker 5: What are you? What are you sitting at right now?
- 50:06Speaker 8: Two ninety five so you play in that three twenty
- 50:09Speaker 8: range towards the end of my career, yeah, just have
- 50:12Speaker 8: a little other extra girth. But I think in my
- 50:14Speaker 8: prime prime I was between. It just depends like because
- 50:17Speaker 8: some years I was two ninety five, I really didn't
- 50:19Speaker 8: like it dealing with double teams with you like you
- 50:22Speaker 8: guys catch that hip and I was like, nah, I
- 50:24Speaker 8: can't do that. So I probably say my sweet spot
- 50:26Speaker 8: when I was playing three h five three ten uh.
- 50:30Speaker 8: And then a little later on, especially when I was
- 50:32Speaker 8: in LA I was a little heavier at three fifteen.
- 50:34Speaker 8: And then shit, you guys know you get late in
- 50:37Speaker 8: the season, you start gaining weight. Yeah, that's how it got.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Holiday season. As soon as Thanksgiving rolls around, you can
- 50:42Speaker 1: kind of say goodbye to the diet and the routine.
- 50:44Speaker 1: It's so hard to keep up. Yeah, what kind of
- 50:46Speaker 1: things are you doing that maybe someone's listening to right now,
- 50:48Speaker 1: be like, I need to lose weight. What is domakan
- 50:51Speaker 1: Su doing to lose weight?
- 50:52Speaker 8: Man, As the older you get, the harder and harder
- 50:56Speaker 8: it gets to lose weight. So for me, it's all
- 50:57Speaker 8: about nutrition. I mean, my nutrition is actually down the
- 51:00Speaker 8: road here in Tennessee. So I talked to him pretty
- 51:02Speaker 8: much every single day just about what I'm eating when
- 51:05Speaker 8: I'm focusing on huge on walks. I mean, I walked
- 51:09Speaker 8: all around Nashville this morning. I loved every bit of it,
- 51:12Speaker 8: got about almost four or five miles in and then
- 51:15Speaker 8: still in the weight room. Man, still important to get
- 51:17Speaker 8: them weights lifting. I should have came over here. I
- 51:19Speaker 8: saw your guys a new set, so I didn't get
- 51:21Speaker 8: no invite, so I would have listed. You may not
- 51:26Speaker 8: have you may not have had enough weights, but I
- 51:29Speaker 8: would have. I would have managed.
- 51:31Speaker 5: How was how's retired life?
- 51:34Speaker 8: I mean it's good. I get more time with the family,
- 51:37Speaker 8: my boys. And that's really the last reason the last
- 51:39Speaker 8: two years I didn't go back because I had opportunities
- 51:41Speaker 8: to go back for a couple of teams one of
- 51:44Speaker 8: them was in the Super Bowl two years ago that
- 51:46Speaker 8: we were super close on. I mean, one of my
- 51:51Speaker 8: favorite D line coaches was there, wanted me to come
- 51:53Speaker 8: back and play really good GM that I enjoyed and
- 51:57Speaker 8: had talked to him over the decades to be able
- 52:00Speaker 8: to hopefully go play for the team, but didn't work out.
- 52:02Speaker 8: And then last year had a couple options but just
- 52:05Speaker 8: didn't just wasn't right.
- 52:06Speaker 5: So yeah, what would make what would have made the
- 52:10Speaker 5: situation right?
- 52:15Speaker 8: I mean, always the money, I'm always about understanding what
- 52:19Speaker 8: it is, but money's not everything. I think that really
- 52:21Speaker 8: was being able to be with the situation. I've always
- 52:24Speaker 8: wished to have two rings, just so my boys don't
- 52:27Speaker 8: have to share. I got twin boys that are four,
- 52:28Speaker 8: so that was the ultimate goal, and that's one of
- 52:30Speaker 8: the reason why I went back to Philly, Like I
- 52:32Speaker 8: didn't get paid crazy money to go play in Philly
- 52:34Speaker 8: my last year, but we got to a super Bowl
- 52:36Speaker 8: and I saw that trajectory and I got to be
- 52:37Speaker 8: a part of that success. Like I was just with
- 52:40Speaker 8: Fletched the other day and like building relationship with him.
- 52:43Speaker 8: You always admire guys from AFAR, but like building a
- 52:45Speaker 8: relationship within six months of each other and now it's
- 52:47Speaker 8: a long lasting relationship. So ultimately, it was about winning
- 52:50Speaker 8: a championship. That's what I wanted to do. Money was cool,
- 52:53Speaker 8: but I was one of the highest paid players ever,
- 52:56Speaker 8: So I've reached that that thrown plenty of times.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I hear you on having the two rings. I
- 53:01Speaker 1: had two girls, I didn't have any boys, so I
- 53:03Speaker 1: decided I want a super Bowl. I dip on that, dude,
- 53:07Speaker 1: you want Like when I'm at Michigan, I'm watching you
- 53:11Speaker 1: in Detroit, and this is when you're a menace. I
- 53:14Speaker 1: mean that as the biggest compliment ever, Like you that,
- 53:16Speaker 1: like I'm watching you, I'm watching college film on guys
- 53:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna play against, and then I'll see a couple
- 53:21Speaker 1: of clips of you just tormenting off it's a.
- 53:23Speaker 5: Line and light.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Well they't got them, not there yet, right, I'll get
- 53:25Speaker 1: to focus. But then as I started to learn about you,
- 53:27Speaker 1: I've played against you a few times, always a handful,
- 53:30Speaker 1: Will start talking about you from a business standpoint, how
- 53:33Speaker 1: like you you're a guy that is always focused on
- 53:35Speaker 1: the what's next?
- 53:36Speaker 5: When did you.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Realize that, like football is not gonna last forever? Because
- 53:40Speaker 1: as Will's reading off all the things and telling the
- 53:43Speaker 1: stories about you being in Nebraska, you could be just
- 53:46Speaker 1: any guy that just sits there and be like, I'm
- 53:47Speaker 1: gonna play football and I'm going to make one hundred
- 53:49Speaker 1: plus million dollars and then dip you wanted to take
- 53:53Speaker 1: a further step. What was the thing for you that
- 53:55Speaker 1: changed that?
- 53:56Speaker 8: First and foremost, I'm super ambitious, Uh, and I've got
- 53:59Speaker 8: mentor and really one of my main mentors. I was
- 54:02Speaker 8: just with I'm gonna drop a little gym. But like
- 54:08Speaker 8: I was up in the Hampton's this past weekend and
- 54:13Speaker 8: just sitting with those guys, like they have this massive
- 54:16Speaker 8: venture fund, they just raised five hundred million. I'm going
- 54:20Speaker 8: to get a potential opportunity to get into some special
- 54:23Speaker 8: deals in the AI space with them. That is like
- 54:26Speaker 8: super oversubscribed and just having that access in those different things,
- 54:30Speaker 8: it's like they're always pressing on me and challenging me
- 54:33Speaker 8: to like level up, continue to level up. Don't put
- 54:35Speaker 8: yourself in this box just because you're an athlete and
- 54:38Speaker 8: because you had a successful career. Don't let that be
- 54:40Speaker 8: your end all be all. And it's always strived upon
- 54:43Speaker 8: that And also looking at it from a perspective of
- 54:45Speaker 8: my mom's a teacher, my dad was an engineer, Like
- 54:47Speaker 8: I went to school for engineering, Like I want to
- 54:49Speaker 8: be more than an athlete. And that's a common saying,
- 54:51Speaker 8: but there's actually a lot of truth behind it, and
- 54:54Speaker 8: I knew early on in my career and from having
- 54:56Speaker 8: obviously a mother was a teacher, dad's engineer. That all ultimately,
- 55:00Speaker 8: like I never wanted to be defined and put it
- 55:02Speaker 8: be put in that box. So how do I strive
- 55:05Speaker 8: and continue to be more successful off the field that
- 55:07Speaker 8: I was on the field. And those are the things
- 55:09Speaker 8: that I focused on, and the determination that that dialing
- 55:11Speaker 8: in was just kind of my thing that I enjoyed.
- 55:14Speaker 8: And then like you guys saw, I lit up when
- 55:16Speaker 8: I'm looking at your guys' facility and I asked, well,
- 55:19Speaker 8: please tell me you own this, and he's like, bro,
- 55:22Speaker 8: we re rent this. I'm like, what, absolutely not. You
- 55:25Speaker 8: guys got a machine over here. Let's go, Like, I'm
- 55:28Speaker 8: going to be your developer. You're gonna least, you're gonna
- 55:31Speaker 8: least from me. I'm gonna throw you some some some ownership.
- 55:34Speaker 8: So we're tied at the hip and let's go.
- 55:36Speaker 1: So you did pull out your phone that sideways and
- 55:39Speaker 1: you're showing this all the building. Gods, I can get
- 55:41Speaker 1: this done in six months, no problem. Really, you really
- 55:43Speaker 1: put it out there.
- 55:44Speaker 8: I just got to figure out the how the zoning
- 55:46Speaker 8: codes work down here in Tennessee. Other than that, but
- 55:48Speaker 8: I mean, let's go.
- 55:49Speaker 11: I love it.
- 55:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:52Speaker 1: Do you how do you find yourself? Obviously you you've
- 55:55Speaker 1: gained access through successes in football.
- 55:57Speaker 11: Yeah for sure.
- 55:58Speaker 1: How did you when you meet these people the first time? Yep,
- 56:02Speaker 1: make a lasting impression to where they want to keep
- 56:04Speaker 1: coming back to you. Because I think that's what athletes
- 56:06Speaker 1: don't realize. Like playing in the NFL, you're gonna have
- 56:08Speaker 1: the opportunity to meet a lot of people, whether they're
- 56:10Speaker 1: fans of the teams you play for, or they're just
- 56:12Speaker 1: around and you just you know, people with money usually
- 56:14Speaker 1: around people with money, they like they don't realize the
- 56:17Speaker 1: type of opportunity that they actually have when they have
- 56:20Speaker 1: an other shield on their chest.
- 56:21Speaker 5: I think just to go a step further too, if
- 56:24Speaker 5: there is any preparation that you did individually that was
- 56:27Speaker 5: involved before just walking into these rooms.
- 56:29Speaker 8: Yeah. So the crazy thing is it's the simple things
- 56:32Speaker 8: that go the farthest. Just like you meet somebody in
- 56:35Speaker 8: like old school days that give you a card, all
- 56:38Speaker 8: you do is follow up and send them an email
- 56:40Speaker 8: like or send them a text, if you exchange numbers
- 56:43Speaker 8: or whatever. It is that simple stuff trigger something into
- 56:46Speaker 8: the brand. Oh this person serious, I'm going to take
- 56:48Speaker 8: a liking to them. They actually want to learn. And
- 56:50Speaker 8: if you really understand it, people love to tell you
- 56:53Speaker 8: about their success. They love to they'll show you the map.
- 56:56Speaker 8: I just showed you a map of how to go
- 56:57Speaker 8: to be successful. Ow you own your own building, Like
- 56:59Speaker 8: it's fun, it's interesting, and that's their craft and they
- 57:02Speaker 8: like sharing those different things. So now you have the
- 57:04Speaker 8: opportunity because hey, you're a big star, whether you're in college,
- 57:08Speaker 8: your pro or whatever it may be. Take that advantage.
- 57:11Speaker 8: But then when you walk through that door. Make sure
- 57:14Speaker 8: you start to educate yourself of how to talk to
- 57:17Speaker 8: talk and walk the walk at the end of the day,
- 57:19Speaker 8: and people will take their time to teach you how
- 57:21Speaker 8: to do that. If you don't know, if you just
- 57:23Speaker 8: ask for help. My mom always told me there's no
- 57:26Speaker 8: dumb question, just ask.
- 57:28Speaker 5: Yeah. I've always admired how you balance both business and football,
- 57:34Speaker 5: and a topic that's always kind of talked about you.
- 57:36Speaker 5: You listen to like uber successful people and they talk
- 57:39Speaker 5: about don't have a plan B because it'll take focus
- 57:42Speaker 5: away from Plan A. Did you ever struggle with that
- 57:46Speaker 5: balance while you're trying to do both or did you
- 57:48Speaker 5: just in your mind it's like, I understand that I
- 57:51Speaker 5: know how to commit to Plan A, but also I
- 57:53Speaker 5: know that this isn't gonna last.
- 57:54Speaker 8: Rep It's a great question, and I just talked about
- 57:56Speaker 8: this the other day on my podcast from the standpoint
- 57:58Speaker 8: of Caleb Williams the Chicago Bears. I think, for me personally,
- 58:02Speaker 8: if you have a capacity and you have to know
- 58:04Speaker 8: this as yourself as a human being, if you have
- 58:06Speaker 8: the capacity to be able to do more than one thing,
- 58:08Speaker 8: but also there's tears to it. So football was number
- 58:11Speaker 8: one for the last thirteen fifteen years or whatever it was.
- 58:14Speaker 8: But I created a structure of like I'm taking care
- 58:17Speaker 8: of my stuff top of the morning, and then I
- 58:19Speaker 8: can start to learn and be curious other elsewhere. But
- 58:22Speaker 8: also people don't realize that when I'm I'm that much
- 58:25Speaker 8: more sharper in football, when I have the opportunity to
- 58:27Speaker 8: go and immerse myself in other areas because I've buttoned
- 58:31Speaker 8: it up, I've zeroed in what I need to do
- 58:33Speaker 8: for football, how to study, do all those different things.
- 58:36Speaker 8: I can go away and come back even sharper. So
- 58:38Speaker 8: that works. That worked for me. Not everybody has a
- 58:40Speaker 8: capacity to do that. A lot of guys can only
- 58:42Speaker 8: focus on Ian. We know in the locker room, there's
- 58:45Speaker 8: some guys that are on the struggle bus, and they
- 58:47Speaker 8: really really got to focus in like they need all
- 58:50Speaker 8: seven days, even like the last five minutes before you
- 58:53Speaker 8: get into that meeting or get into that game. They
- 58:56Speaker 8: still need to keep studying. Like I've had some guys like,
- 58:59Speaker 8: hey man, what are we sup to doing this?
- 59:00Speaker 11: Play?
- 59:01Speaker 8: Buddy man, we went over this fifty times. Yeah, in
- 59:04Speaker 8: the meeting room, I still got you just go straight.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and especial if you're playing defense, it's so reactive.
- 59:11Speaker 1: You guys got it easy, man, It's it's really just athletics.
- 59:22Speaker 1: We react, but I have to react to you're reacting.
- 59:25Speaker 1: You have to look at the safeties and see with
- 59:26Speaker 1: the linebackers. Then he says Able or Baker, I'm okay,
- 59:28Speaker 1: he's blitzing. Is this guy going to go inside? What's happening?
- 59:31Speaker 11: Now?
- 59:31Speaker 1: It's a game you guys wouldn't understand. You might understand
- 59:35Speaker 1: you played offensive line in the under or the uh
- 59:38Speaker 1: All American Army game. Before that, you talked about capacity.
- 59:42Speaker 1: I want to break that down a little bit more
- 59:44Speaker 1: because obviously someone being able to understand themselves and understand
- 59:48Speaker 1: what they're capable of doing and not capable of doing.
- 59:50Speaker 1: It's easier said than done. And we've seen in the
- 59:52Speaker 1: locker room. We see guys all the time that think
- 59:55Speaker 1: they have all the capability in the world. But with
- 59:57Speaker 1: the film shows this is way different. So somebody who
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: it doesn't have the capacity to have the structure that
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: you're talking about, what are some steps that they can
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: take to be successful and put themselves in a ring
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: where they're now making that passive income. There's the generic
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: stuff of having, you know, financial advisor and stuff like that.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: But what are little tips?
- 1:00:15Speaker 8: I would say honestly, and it may not Capacity may
- 1:00:18Speaker 8: be the wrong word. I think the right word is
- 1:00:20Speaker 8: understanding how they learn. And this is where the psychology
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: side of things comes in. And as a head coach,
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: I learned this from Jim Calwell being a head coach
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: and seeing him operate within three to six months to
- 1:00:32Speaker 8: be able to take our team to where we got
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: to in twenty fourteen. Was he had the psychology background
- 1:00:37Speaker 8: of breaking down every single guy and learning how understand
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: how they learn. So if you understand how you learn
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: and how you can structure yourself, that'll allow your capacity
- 1:00:46Speaker 8: to start to get wider and wider and wider, because
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: you know, I have to do these things so I'm
- 1:00:50Speaker 8: in order to be successful in this space, then I
- 1:00:53Speaker 8: can start being curious in other spaces. So understanding how
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: you learn and how you function, I think is a
- 1:00:58Speaker 8: big part of it as well.
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: What would you your routine be like on a Wednesday
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: compared to a Friday while you were playing well?
- 1:01:07Speaker 8: Early on my career or later on in my life.
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: I would say, when you're starting to figure out your
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: capacity and how you learn and everything else, like when
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: you are operating or when I am talking to Lavontine,
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: I'm like, hey, what's how Sue out in Tampa And
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: he's like, man, he'll be on he'll be on a
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: business call in between, like after practice, before meetings.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:22Speaker 8: So that was like mid mid of my middle of
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: my career, towards towards the end. What I would say
- 1:01:28Speaker 8: for me, if I understand your question correctly, is like,
- 1:01:31Speaker 8: at that time, I had a routine. So I'm in
- 1:01:34Speaker 8: the facility six am getting my workout. In most guys
- 1:01:37Speaker 8: are working out either like right before practice or right
- 1:01:41Speaker 8: after practice, or they do half their lift before practice
- 1:01:43Speaker 8: and then do the legs after practice. I'm done with
- 1:01:45Speaker 8: my workout. I got that out of the way. I
- 1:01:48Speaker 8: tuned in for an hour and a half, two hours
- 1:01:49Speaker 8: or whatever it was, go to practice, go through meetings.
- 1:01:53Speaker 8: I watched my film like coaches are going to watch film,
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: like I've already watched film. That's over and done with.
- 1:02:00Speaker 8: So when coach knows like and coach Casey, he loves
- 1:02:03Speaker 8: me but hates me because he's He'll be in meetings
- 1:02:06Speaker 8: and be like, hey, man, I got to ask you
- 1:02:08Speaker 8: a question. And I was like, Coach, I got you,
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: but you know, man, I'm over your writing emails.
- 1:02:12Speaker 11: Leave me the fuck home.
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: We are established, you're already, You've done your part of
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: I'm prepped. I've watched film. I know what Coach is
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: gonna go over. But when we're in the position meeting itself,
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: you got to get a few other things done because
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: the main focus isn't like I've handled all my business.
- 1:02:29Speaker 8: Yeah exactly. And we had that understanding with each other
- 1:02:32Speaker 8: early on to where it's like he knows I'm gonna
- 1:02:35Speaker 8: be on point. But there's times I knew he's gonna
- 1:02:37Speaker 8: he would say my name, like hey, pay attention real quick,
- 1:02:40Speaker 8: give me five minutes of your time, and then we're
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: gonna talk about this as a group. So everybody realizes
- 1:02:44Speaker 8: you're still part of the meeting, and then you can
- 1:02:46Speaker 8: go back to doing what you.
- 1:02:47Speaker 11: Need to do.
- 1:02:48Speaker 8: So you'd be sitting, Oh yeah, Casey's right here, I'm
- 1:02:51Speaker 8: right in the back, right corner with him, Vita's up
- 1:02:53Speaker 8: in the front, all the other dudes in front, Like,
- 1:02:55Speaker 8: I got my laptop turned like I'm gonna go bus position.
- 1:03:00Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: Now it sounds like it was different earlier in your career.
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: What was there a hard conversation or a moment to
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: where you're like, hey, I need to button my shit
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: up or I need to I'm not taking a serious
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: as I feel like I want to be taking this serious.
- 1:03:14Speaker 8: So the person that kind of put me on my
- 1:03:16Speaker 8: toes with that was Kyle Vannerbosch. So my rookie year
- 1:03:19Speaker 8: and probably my second year being with Kyle in the
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: same D line room, he really taught me how to
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: take notes and be detail oriented, and so like where
- 1:03:29Speaker 8: I'm super locked in is like those first two hours
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: of meetings before we go to practice, when we're doing
- 1:03:34Speaker 8: install and we're doing those different things. But I started cheating.
- 1:03:36Speaker 8: I was like, coach, give me the install the night
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: before so I can go through everything, and I'll come
- 1:03:40Speaker 8: in early and ask you a couple of questions of
- 1:03:43Speaker 8: what I didn't understand or I needed more clarification, and
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: then I speed up the process. So now I'm understanding
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: how I learn, how I figure out things faster so
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: I can get it out of the way and I
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: can be prepared. So I just go out to practice.
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: Plus bro, we do two three different walkthroughs, like if
- 1:03:59Speaker 8: you don't understand we're about to install walk through? What
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: we just install? Then practice? We just went through three.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Times to a walk through before that practice, Yeah, we just.
- 1:04:07Speaker 8: Did it three times. If you can't pick it up
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: in that timeframe, we've got bigger problems.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Which I feel like rears its head a lot of
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: times in the locker roos. Yes, there are a lot
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: of guys that are like that.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: And when you're somebody who's on your ship, you're just like,
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: how in the fuck is this so hard? What do
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: you mean? I'm saying, like, when you when you haven't
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: figured out and dialed in, and if so and so
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: doesn't have it figured out by the second or third
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: walk through, and you're just like, how do you not
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: fucking get what we're doing the most simplistic things.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Now, your rookie year is a whole different ball game,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: just trying to figure out everything, and everything seems like
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: so big once again, massive office of playbook.
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: So where do you start to realize that you were
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: a tackle? Bro?
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Yeah you have you.
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: Have a second.
- 1:04:55Speaker 11: Coming here, so yeah.
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: Center like that would be it would make sense, but
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: I knew, yeah, the double down go to the next levee.
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: Double down is not a term you know, block down,
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: double team go to the is not a term you
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: don't worry about away from you, but you blocked down Taylor.
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: He's got it easy though, because he's coming behind me. Yeah,
- 1:05:19Speaker 8: where's the ball? He's got three cats. Figure it out.
- 1:05:25Speaker 8: I'll go get the time I want. Took jump on
- 1:05:27Speaker 8: a half a second, Hey man, get off of my
- 1:05:29Speaker 8: sat Yeah.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Talk to me about playing ball with a young, will
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: confident Nebraska.
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: I mean, it's a little bit of a blur. He
- 1:05:38Speaker 8: didn't get a lot of playing time I was there,
- 1:05:42Speaker 8: but he definitely came. I will say hard worker, definitely
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: was out there special teams, riling up the troops, running
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: down the field full speed. But when he was playing,
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: I'll give him credit. He was loud and and he
- 1:05:54Speaker 8: was made himself known, which I respect. And that's what
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: I asked from every single linebacker I played with. You
- 1:06:01Speaker 8: have to be dominant. Even if you make the wrong call. Well,
- 1:06:04Speaker 8: guess what, it doesn't matter what defense we're in. Just
- 1:06:06Speaker 8: call the defense. Let's go, and we're just gonna wreck
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: have it because I don't care what calls y'all got
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: on offense. If I'm running up through the middle of it,
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: you can't do anything.
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: Yeah, So if you're running through the middle of a
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: demonstrative was always like a learning curve confidence if you
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: if you remember too, like there was there was always
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: a dust up with a real deal Phil Dill.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: Yeah, he's in the doghouse for a little bit. There
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: was like a weird I do remember that there is
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: going on. So as a freshman too, like there's a
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: sense of like you don't you just don't have that
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: confidence man, like you.
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: In right, because Phil's ahead of me.
- 1:06:45Speaker 11: We came in.
- 1:06:45Speaker 8: This is like he's part of the call to Nebraska
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: that came in in the last ten years. We all
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: come together. Then there's this young group that comes behind us.
- 1:06:55Speaker 8: Willean Fisher, Yeah, Sean Fisher, all these young guys that
- 1:06:59Speaker 8: are coming on and they actually can play. So they're
- 1:07:03Speaker 8: like chipping at the biting at the heels, like we're
- 1:07:06Speaker 8: about to get on this field. Especially it's not just
- 1:07:08Speaker 8: special teams. So also seeing that, like there's also that
- 1:07:11Speaker 8: competition versus it saying no, this can be additive. We
- 1:07:14Speaker 8: can come in special packages and do these different things
- 1:07:16Speaker 8: because well could run, so he could do different ship
- 1:07:19Speaker 8: and whatnot.
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: Back in the day.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Yeah, back in the day podcast and said laughing, it's like, yeah,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: you can't forget that.
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, but you're right though. You're right though. And
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: then you have that just that the competitive dynamic and
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: again just being young, it was and you were part
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: of We were part of such a you guys were
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: dominated as hell and d You're looking around and you
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: got you got Sue, you got Stein Cooler, Barry Turner, Craig,
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: you got all these hosses. Like in the huddle. I
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: remember one time too, like I was telling the story
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: not too long ago, but that big twelve championship game,
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: like a couple of steps I did get in. Then
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: we had them backed up on the goal line. You
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: were obviously trying to get we were trying to get
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: a safety. And one time I think I called like
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: Miami or something like that, and Sue like turns back
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: and me. He's like, hey, I'm going the a gap
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: you go to be and I'm just sitting like, okay,
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: people don't know.
- 1:08:09Speaker 8: Coach Carl was the best. Like so the year before
- 1:08:14Speaker 8: my senior year or my last year in Nebraska, Coach
- 1:08:17Speaker 8: Carl and I sat down in his office like for
- 1:08:21Speaker 8: like almost two weeks He broke down every single piece
- 1:08:25Speaker 8: of the playbook to me, and I told him, all right, coach,
- 1:08:28Speaker 8: I know where guys fit and how things work. Now
- 1:08:30Speaker 8: I'm gonna start cheating, like crazy cheating. He's like, all right, cool,
- 1:08:34Speaker 8: you can do that, but I'm gonna dog cuss you
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: out in front of everybody if you don't make a play.
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: It's like bet that's our that was our inside rule
- 1:08:44Speaker 8: of like, hey man, you can do whatever you want to,
- 1:08:47Speaker 8: but if you make a mistake and you don't make
- 1:08:49Speaker 8: a play, I'm gonna dog cuss you out in front
- 1:08:51Speaker 8: of everybody. So I would just will take my spot,
- 1:08:56Speaker 8: I'm taking yours, and I just be able to make plays.
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: That's how like in the Missouri game, I got the interception.
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: I just dropped back. I felt something, so I could
- 1:09:02Speaker 8: just play with my instincts. But I knew I could
- 1:09:04Speaker 8: have guys cover up for me, knowing where things were at.
- 1:09:07Speaker 5: So was the game where the lights went out at halftime.
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: Everybody's got their phones out. All the lights went out
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: in the locker room at halftime. Yeah, and everybody just
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: got their flashlights on their phone. As we're trying to
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: make adjustments and get snacks and everything else. It's a
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: wild game. And Sue did have a one of his
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: how many picks did you have that year?
- 1:09:25Speaker 8: I think I only had two that year the.
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: Colorado game, ye a tech when Bo was losing his
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: mind on you, saying like I get him out, Carl, I.
- 1:09:35Speaker 11: Need him for sure.
- 1:09:38Speaker 8: They definitely went at each other for sure, and I
- 1:09:40Speaker 8: definitely put Carl in some bad situations because I was
- 1:09:43Speaker 8: trying to go make plays.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: You you guys were bringing to that Bateswall Championship game
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: versus Texas. That's the game. There was one second left,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: they put one second left back on the phone, put
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: one second man, one second back on.
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: What can you break that down for me a little bit?
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: What happened?
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: We'll talk about it a little bit, but I want
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: to hear from that back then.
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: By the way, we were nobody knew were on our
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: way out. We're gonna be out like either after that
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: year or the next year, going to the Big ten.
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: And we feel like there was some I personally feel
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: like there was some illuminati higher up. We're going down.
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: We can't let the hust ship.
- 1:10:16Speaker 8: Yeah, but it was it was crazy though, because I
- 1:10:19Speaker 8: mean I had the most excitement in that game. Again,
- 1:10:24Speaker 8: we had everything we knew about what Texas wanted to do.
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: Old line was dog dog water, Yeah, straight dog water,
- 1:10:34Speaker 8: And I knew we could dominate against them. It was
- 1:10:38Speaker 8: just a matter of us, can our offense put up
- 1:10:40Speaker 8: some points and defense was like, man, man, we're gonna
- 1:10:43Speaker 8: have to score ourselves a couple of times. But going
- 1:10:46Speaker 8: back to that play, in that last second, I am
- 1:10:49Speaker 8: like on my horse as hard and as fast as
- 1:10:52Speaker 8: I can as Colt McCoy is rolling out and I'm
- 1:10:55Speaker 8: trying to make sure that he is obliterated into the stands,
- 1:11:00Speaker 8: and I think I almost hit him into bow and
- 1:11:03Speaker 8: I know that in the back of my head the
- 1:11:04Speaker 8: clock is like super super low. He can't just I
- 1:11:06Speaker 8: can't let him get a clean throw off because he's
- 1:11:08Speaker 8: gonna find somebody downfield. And I know they're trying to
- 1:11:10Speaker 8: get this field gold and whatnot. And I turn around
- 1:11:14Speaker 8: and I hop up and I look at the scoreboard.
- 1:11:18Speaker 11: It's zero.
- 1:11:20Speaker 8: We are champions.
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: We storm, We're life sprinting on the field.
- 1:11:25Speaker 8: Everybody's elated, like crazy excitement. Then all of a sudden,
- 1:11:31Speaker 8: Bo starts spazzing out, like what do you mean there's
- 1:11:35Speaker 8: a second left on the clock, all these different things,
- 1:11:37Speaker 8: and it's like all right, man, calm down. They still
- 1:11:42Speaker 8: got to make this joint and it's like fifty yards,
- 1:11:44Speaker 8: so like, hey man, we're going to line up and
- 1:11:48Speaker 8: we're trying to run through these guys's faces and block
- 1:11:51Speaker 8: this kit. But we could get there, and for whatever reason,
- 1:11:55Speaker 8: they felt like they deserved a second on the clock.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: But it was what it was, weird jump me so Waley,
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: we're jumping up and down. We win the Big twelve.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: Heartbreak hotel and you were feasting on that offensive line.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: Man, it was Pierre Al He's going off in the
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: locker room after the game.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I can't Yeah, I can't imagine that.
- 1:12:19Speaker 12: The other day, What is your relationship relationship like with
- 1:12:23Speaker 12: Nebraska now, because I know when we went there before
- 1:12:26Speaker 12: all the renovations, it was the Nanaba can sue weight
- 1:12:28Speaker 12: room spears.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: How involved are you with the program?
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: I would say, I'm not that involved. I just met
- 1:12:36Speaker 8: Rule a couple of times. What I did appreciate he
- 1:12:39Speaker 8: called me right when he got the job, which was
- 1:12:41Speaker 8: super nice. We're connected because of some people in Temple
- 1:12:44Speaker 8: and whatnot, and I think he's the right coach for
- 1:12:47Speaker 8: the organization. I'd say this, I'd love to be more involved.
- 1:12:51Speaker 8: I'm behind the scenes supportive of a family, especially the
- 1:12:55Speaker 8: quarterback and dom Ryola Bey and my big brother at
- 1:12:59Speaker 8: Nebraska or not at Thebraska in Detroit and him taking
- 1:13:04Speaker 8: care of me there. So obviously want to see the
- 1:13:06Speaker 8: success of his son and Dylan as well as a
- 1:13:08Speaker 8: young one coming after him. So ultimately I think they've
- 1:13:12Speaker 8: got the right structure. It's going to be recruiting, of course,
- 1:13:15Speaker 8: which and I was absolutely crazy, as we all know now,
- 1:13:18Speaker 8: so it'll be interesting. Man. I want to be able
- 1:13:21Speaker 8: to have bragging rights. Yeah, So hopefully they can turn
- 1:13:24Speaker 8: around the tide and see what happens. I still got
- 1:13:26Speaker 8: the weight room. I took my kids back. I was
- 1:13:29Speaker 8: just inducted in the Nebraska Hall of Fame, which was nice.
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: That's awesome.
- 1:13:35Speaker 11: So we'll see.
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: We'll see how things kind of evolved now that I'm retired.
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: But I'm more busy now than I wasn't pay Yeah,
- 1:13:44Speaker 8: just see.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: The short time we were talking each other before we
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: got on the bus. You're showing those emails and all
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: that stuff, like you are are motoring what about Nebraska
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: was like this I'm assuming you're a massive recruit, will
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: be a four or five star guy.
- 1:13:56Speaker 8: I was a four star guy. I was. I wasn't coin.
- 1:14:00Speaker 8: So you talk about having to play on both offensive defense.
- 1:14:04Speaker 8: It's crazy. I went to a US Army All American
- 1:14:06Speaker 8: game and there was the top five defensive tackles there
- 1:14:11Speaker 8: and I was a six. And they were like, uh,
- 1:14:14Speaker 8: there's not really a lot of room and we have
- 1:14:16Speaker 8: some injuries on offense.
- 1:14:17Speaker 11: Can you go play offense? I don't care.
- 1:14:19Speaker 8: I'll block these dudes. So I played most of the
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: time actually during that game on the offensive line.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: So how'd you like it?
- 1:14:24Speaker 8: It was cool. I mean I held my own.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: So do you think you could have could have made
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: it if you played offensive line?
- 1:14:30Speaker 8: Oh? No question.
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: Really.
- 1:14:33Speaker 8: I joked all the time, especially in Tampa.
- 1:14:36Speaker 11: Uh.
- 1:14:37Speaker 8: And there's been some other coaches like coach Stout that's
- 1:14:40Speaker 8: up in Philly. Hey man, when I retire, I might
- 1:14:42Speaker 8: come come back and play offensive line. I can eat
- 1:14:46Speaker 8: everything in the house and chill and just hold on
- 1:14:50Speaker 8: to guys.
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: Misconception was gonna.
- 1:14:54Speaker 11: Sit there and hold on to so much, so much.
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: Technique involved with the offensive line, and you're talking about
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: nil money.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: I want to know why he went to Nebraska because
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: American you're in that. Who were your top schools that
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: were recruiting you the heaviest and what were you like?
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Your top five?
- 1:15:12Speaker 8: Ish my top five. I took five visits, so University
- 1:15:15Speaker 8: of Miami, Oregon State, Mississippi State, University of cal and
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: then there was one other. I'm drawing a blank on
- 1:15:25Speaker 8: it right now, but I actually committed Mississippi State. My
- 1:15:29Speaker 8: sister went to school there and there was a guy
- 1:15:32Speaker 8: named John Blake that was there before he left and
- 1:15:36Speaker 8: went to Nebraska Calian. So really, John Blake was the
- 1:15:39Speaker 8: one who recruited me and got me to go to
- 1:15:40Speaker 8: Nebraska outside of me knowing it's a great program and
- 1:15:43Speaker 8: rich history and stuff like that. So that was the
- 1:15:46Speaker 8: reason why I went to Nebraska because of John Blake
- 1:15:48Speaker 8: and I could play early and we had a great
- 1:15:51Speaker 8: recruiting class. So I wanted to be a part of
- 1:15:53Speaker 8: some special to turn that tie. Because they had sucked
- 1:15:55Speaker 8: for shoot, yeah for a while, almost two decades.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Yeah, they were a live sport for a little bit,
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: had a blip. They're coming back now.
- 1:16:05Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: I made the first ball games fifteen Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: boys are back. We're coming, We're coming.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: You mentioned in IL earlier. Yeah, you were somebody that
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: was also projected first round draft pick after junior year
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: coming back to Nebraska for your senior year.
- 1:16:22Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:16:23Speaker 5: The talk to the team was it was like, you know,
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: you said down with coach Bow and everybody else, and
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: they talked to you into coming back. But was there
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: any how do I say this nil money involved you
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: coming back your senior.
- 1:16:35Speaker 11: Year and then just asked a question.
- 1:16:38Speaker 8: No, there wasn't, but there was a stern conversation with
- 1:16:41Speaker 8: coach Bow and coach Bow I don't remember.
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: I got it.
- 1:16:45Speaker 8: What was his name, lsud.
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: Tackle, name of the mic up a little bit, Yeah.
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: It's.
- 1:16:51Speaker 8: Lsud Tackle. I'm John a blank.
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: Uh was it Dorsey?
- 1:16:56Speaker 8: Yeah, Glen Dorsey. So Glenn Dorsey lsud Tackle that was
- 1:16:59Speaker 8: there with coach Bow when they won the championship. He
- 1:17:03Speaker 8: was like, man, you're better than him. And I think
- 1:17:05Speaker 8: he was a top five or top ten pick, and
- 1:17:08Speaker 8: he was like, if you have the ability to stay
- 1:17:11Speaker 8: one more year, I'm willing to bet you you'll be
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: in the top three. So all right, cool. And I
- 1:17:18Speaker 8: was projected I think like eighteen or nineteen and to
- 1:17:23Speaker 8: come out in or late first round. Let's just say that.
- 1:17:27Speaker 8: And so I said, all right, I'll come back. I
- 1:17:30Speaker 8: don't mind. It sucks. It's two thousand and eight. The
- 1:17:33Speaker 8: world's on the dumpster fire like nothing, specially. My dad's
- 1:17:37Speaker 8: self employed. My mom's a teacher, so she's cool and whatnot.
- 1:17:40Speaker 8: But I'd love to come out and obviously be able
- 1:17:43Speaker 8: to change my family from that standpoint, but I think
- 1:17:45Speaker 8: it was one of the best decisions I've ever made
- 1:17:47Speaker 8: from that standpoint. And so for me, one more year
- 1:17:50Speaker 8: and I was pretty much done with school. So going
- 1:17:53Speaker 8: into my senior year, I only had one class. I
- 1:17:55Speaker 8: had one class in a lap, So it was like
- 1:17:57Speaker 8: I was already pro. I just had to just chill
- 1:17:59Speaker 8: and do it whatever I wanted from that standpoint and
- 1:18:01Speaker 8: play football. So there was no nil money I wish
- 1:18:05Speaker 8: there was. Was it?
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: That hard time coach bo to compare and you're thinking
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: eighteen or nineteen, you know what I mean. It's like
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: eighteen and that's back you were still part of that
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: old CBA. But that's still a shitload of money eighteen
- 1:18:18Speaker 5: or nineteen in the first round compared to like, all right,
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: I'll come back on another year. You think it's really
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: gonna jump up. Yeah, obviously it works out. But it
- 1:18:25Speaker 5: was as simple as a conversation like that. To compare
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: you to Glenn Dorsey.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it was simple.
- 1:18:30Speaker 8: I mean like waiting one more year and I went
- 1:18:33Speaker 8: and got alloyded in London policy. So god forbid anything
- 1:18:37Speaker 8: crazy happened. All right, got my loading London London policy.
- 1:18:40Speaker 8: If I got hurt, and then that was your policy.
- 1:18:43Speaker 8: I remember it's like twenty five million.
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: That was three.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I was a old CBA because you know, your boy
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: actually had the opportunity to leave his junior year as well.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: But my projection showing me my projection was first round
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: and I decided to come back. But I was on
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: the kool aid of I thought we were gonna win
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: a bake Th championship. We're going six and six.
- 1:19:05Speaker 11: Yeah, we didn't.
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: We didn't have the talent. We didn't have the talent
- 1:19:08Speaker 5: to get it done.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: But I really thought in my head, yeah, because I
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: wasn't a big broad thinker I was.
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: I was.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: I was very zoomed in and I was like, bro,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: we could win it all off my leadership.
- 1:19:20Speaker 11: I love the confidence, dude.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: I really thought we were gonna do it man, but yeah, go,
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: like there had to be a couple of games like
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: I'm sure, like once you make a decision, or I'm
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: gonna co back, I'm gonna take my name out of
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: like the draft pool. Essentially, the fear of yeah, if
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: you get hurt, you have this Lloyd's in London policy
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: is gonna give you twenty five million dollars. But now
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: it's like, well what about legacy? What about all these things?
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Was ever a fear of doubt going into your senior
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: year now?
- 1:19:44Speaker 8: Not really, because I mean I'd already gone through injury
- 1:19:47Speaker 8: like two thousand and seven eight or no, two thousand
- 1:19:50Speaker 8: and eight, going into Yeah, going into the two thousand
- 1:19:53Speaker 8: and eight season, I tore my a CL and so
- 1:19:55Speaker 8: I was like, worst case I get hurt again, Like
- 1:19:58Speaker 8: I bounce back, and I had a great eight year
- 1:20:00Speaker 8: coming off of ACL. Like Mark Meyer took great care
- 1:20:04Speaker 8: of me, Like I got I tore my ACL. March
- 1:20:08Speaker 8: tenth of two thousand and eight, I was back for camp,
- 1:20:13Speaker 8: like he would only let me practice one of days.
- 1:20:15Speaker 8: It's all right, great, that's even better. I don't have
- 1:20:17Speaker 8: to go through two A days. And like I owe
- 1:20:20Speaker 8: Mark so much, I still talk to him all the
- 1:20:21Speaker 8: time just as just a close friend. But if I
- 1:20:25Speaker 8: get hurt again, I got to go through the same
- 1:20:26Speaker 8: process like who cares? Like so I really wasn't scared
- 1:20:30Speaker 8: of it from that perspective, And I came off had
- 1:20:33Speaker 8: one of my best year in college to then back
- 1:20:35Speaker 8: it up with another great year to top that as
- 1:20:38Speaker 8: going into the draft. So for me, the mindset was
- 1:20:40Speaker 8: just just go out there and bawl, have fun.
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: So you tore your ACL in March and we're practicing
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: at the end of July, four months.
- 1:20:49Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, Like I owe a lot of credit to
- 1:20:53Speaker 8: a lot of credit to Mark Meyer. Man. He was
- 1:20:55Speaker 8: like one of the best, and I didn't even realize
- 1:20:57Speaker 8: like everything that he was teaching me. He was on
- 1:21:00Speaker 8: my butt like man, I'm gonna get you really and
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: like I remember I think they called Russians like or
- 1:21:08Speaker 8: like these things where he would hang my knee off
- 1:21:10Speaker 8: the back of the table to get range of motion
- 1:21:14Speaker 8: and I would look at him with the most meanest
- 1:21:17Speaker 8: look like death stairs, like I want to kill you
- 1:21:19Speaker 8: right now because it hurts, but like it got me
- 1:21:21Speaker 8: back so fast, and like all his stuff that he
- 1:21:24Speaker 8: had done, like is I own a lot.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: For that, and it's just like pre bfr and all those.
- 1:21:28Speaker 8: Like, yeah, yeah, you're doing it the old school, old
- 1:21:31Speaker 8: school way.
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: Damn.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: So that is four months is hissses me off.
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: He was removed. I'm still hurting. I'm still not recovering.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: I will say whenever, whenever Taylor tore his The first
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: time was in the middle of the season, right, it
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: was October twenty twenty. October twenty twenty, and we we
- 1:21:51Speaker 5: were training with Dobbs, by the way, was the best man.
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: I remember Dobson telling Taylor. He's like, called me, was
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: it November, December, January, like if we go to the
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: Super Bowl or something. He's like, I'm just letting you know.
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: Sue was able to get back in four months. Yeah,
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: that was like Taylor's Taylor's motivator. Yeah, And I think
- 1:22:11Speaker 5: I think month two, I was like, this is not happening.
- 1:22:16Speaker 8: See, But a lot of people don't realize. It's like,
- 1:22:18Speaker 8: obviously got to have a good surgeon, which first and foremost,
- 1:22:21Speaker 8: but then two the rehab, you can't be afraid to
- 1:22:25Speaker 8: push yourself. And that's where I think a lot of
- 1:22:28Speaker 8: people in that first like month, month and a half,
- 1:22:31Speaker 8: they're like super scared, like timid and whatnot. Like really
- 1:22:34Speaker 8: after you get the green light that the graft is good,
- 1:22:37Speaker 8: like really really push, like that's how you come back.
- 1:22:40Speaker 5: Majority of the time, it's do anything. It's everything pain free.
- 1:22:45Speaker 8: A little pain everybody, everybody, But even a little bit
- 1:22:48Speaker 8: of pain is okay. Like it's just like understanding your
- 1:22:51Speaker 8: pain tolerance and what's the difference between again being hurt
- 1:22:54Speaker 8: and injured, Like there's a big difference between that, Yeah,
- 1:22:57Speaker 8: I have a little pain, like I'm hurt a little
- 1:22:59Speaker 8: bit versus being actually injured and whatnot.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: So yeah, the because the process of the patel A
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: ten and becoming an ACL go through the cocoon process
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: is metamorphous process between weeks twelve and eighteen, and that's
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: when your graft is the most vulnerable and you have
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: to be like really cautious in those like that six
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: week period. But then after that you can you can't
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: push a little bit, buddy, I was, I mean, I
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: don't know how you did in four and four months.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: I literally was doing like two rehabs a day, Like
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: one was more like physical, the other one was more
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: like taking care of little TLC and like had it
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: up like literally did not focus on anything else but
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: my acl And I mean that first came back tough, slid, tough, slim.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: But so you get drafted third overall by the Lions,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: third third, second, Wow, I'm so sorry for disrespecting second
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: overall by the Lions. What is your initial thought when
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: you get to the lines? There's the Lions where you
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: look at Now we're in twenty twenty five, like, holy shit,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: what a franchise. Campbell's got those boys going. You're a
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: part of a terrible franchise at this point. And it's like,
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: I'm sure there's a level of excitem because you're the
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: second overall pick. Who's the first?
- 1:24:12Speaker 8: That quarterback Oklahoma, yep, Sam Braf Sam Bradford, who I
- 1:24:16Speaker 8: sacked by the way, hit him one.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: That I was hot.
- 1:24:22Speaker 8: But the thing is I was told like right, maybe
- 1:24:26Speaker 8: like two weeks before the draft, because I took a
- 1:24:28Speaker 8: visit to Saint Louis and I just had an eerie
- 1:24:29Speaker 8: feeling like, man, these do things aren't gonna pick me
- 1:24:31Speaker 8: number one, and being competitive Detroit a great visit gun
- 1:24:37Speaker 8: to kind of him loved me, uh and really kind
- 1:24:39Speaker 8: of had the main decision making power from that standpoint,
- 1:24:41Speaker 8: as he had, like the old statesman there. And then
- 1:24:44Speaker 8: I went to Tampa and Tampa was like, man, we
- 1:24:47Speaker 8: love you. We're gonna come get you. We got twelve picks.
- 1:24:50Speaker 8: We're gonna throw the house at Detroit and come get you.
- 1:24:52Speaker 11: I'm like perfect.
- 1:24:52Speaker 8: They called me right before the draft and they were like,
- 1:24:55Speaker 8: would you drop And I was like no, but you
- 1:24:57Speaker 8: can come and get me, like we talked about, and
- 1:25:00Speaker 8: I didn't know they knew that Detroit wasn't going to
- 1:25:02Speaker 8: let me get past too. And then they had insight
- 1:25:05Speaker 8: because Schwartz and all those guys with Jeff Fisher, they're
- 1:25:07Speaker 8: all friends, so they knew they were taking Sam Bradford,
- 1:25:10Speaker 8: so they knew they were going to be able to
- 1:25:11Speaker 8: get me and they didn't have to do anything. So
- 1:25:13Speaker 8: lo and behold. I get drafted by Detroit and I
- 1:25:16Speaker 8: was actually pissed off. And it was because, like I
- 1:25:20Speaker 8: just I was expecting Tampa to come get me, and
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: like that's what I was told. I was with the
- 1:25:24Speaker 8: last conversation I have with my agent. But I was like, man,
- 1:25:26Speaker 8: you know what, let me be humble and be like
- 1:25:28Speaker 8: everything happens for a reason. So it's like this city
- 1:25:32Speaker 8: needs this blue collar and grinders, all about work. This
- 1:25:40Speaker 8: is my type of people, strong black community, all these
- 1:25:43Speaker 8: different things. And so I was like, man, let me
- 1:25:45Speaker 8: go in here and try and like change the culture
- 1:25:48Speaker 8: and whatnot. And so when I got in there, you
- 1:25:49Speaker 8: see they brought in Kyle, they have Dom there, they
- 1:25:55Speaker 8: got Matthew Stafford, they got Calvin, they got a group
- 1:25:57Speaker 8: of guys and like, let's go, let's try and make
- 1:26:01Speaker 8: some Hey. Yeah, my first year was tough.
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: What was your record your first year?
- 1:26:04Speaker 11: Six?
- 1:26:04Speaker 8: And it sucked, but I mean I obviously had a
- 1:26:09Speaker 8: good individual year, but I wasn't happy with that by
- 1:26:12Speaker 8: any means. So then we turn around and have an
- 1:26:14Speaker 8: opportunity the next year to come back. I think we're
- 1:26:16Speaker 8: eleven and five, which was better, got to the playoffs,
- 1:26:20Speaker 8: lost in the first round, but started to see and
- 1:26:23Speaker 8: I think what they realized, especially from a front office perspective,
- 1:26:26Speaker 8: we got to get rid of certain guys because they're
- 1:26:29Speaker 8: just here collecting checks, which was which was terrible to
- 1:26:32Speaker 8: see from that standpoint, But man, it's I just went
- 1:26:35Speaker 8: back there and went to the facility for the first
- 1:26:37Speaker 8: time in a decade. A little surreal, but I mean,
- 1:26:40Speaker 8: I love that city. I'm there all the time. I
- 1:26:42Speaker 8: do a bunch of business, got a bunch of mentors,
- 1:26:43Speaker 8: Dan Gilbert, Gary Schiffman, Like had dinner with him the
- 1:26:47Speaker 8: other day, Like it's I love that city.
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: Man. What was it like when you left Detroit? Like
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: why were they not able to keep you there and
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: make you the you know, make you the guy for
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: your entire career?
- 1:26:59Speaker 8: Man, As I always say, I got kicked out. I
- 1:27:01Speaker 8: wanted to stay there, like and I'll say this again
- 1:27:04Speaker 8: and I said it before, Like at the end of
- 1:27:05Speaker 8: the day, Man, they had an opportunity, They had every
- 1:27:07Speaker 8: opportunity to keep me there if they wanted me to
- 1:27:09Speaker 8: stay there. I gave them last minute. I remember leaving
- 1:27:12Speaker 8: Church right during free agency in fourteen fifteen, and my
- 1:27:18Speaker 8: agent like, you've got a great deal with Miami, Like
- 1:27:23Speaker 8: you're gonna be highest paid, like super crazy guaranteed, and yes,
- 1:27:28Speaker 8: Oakland is paying you are offering you a couple million
- 1:27:31Speaker 8: dollars more. But if you look at taxes and all
- 1:27:33Speaker 8: those different things, because I had spreadsheets like all these
- 1:27:36Speaker 8: different things of like breaking down like all right, they
- 1:27:38Speaker 8: played these tax free cities. They have these ones that
- 1:27:41Speaker 8: are that are non tax free. What all the numbers
- 1:27:43Speaker 8: would break down to I would be losing money going
- 1:27:45Speaker 8: back to Detroit and seeing that thing being in that
- 1:27:49Speaker 8: order because they're like their tax reks, like I think
- 1:27:50Speaker 8: like four or five percent or whatever from a state perspective.
- 1:27:53Speaker 8: So I said, I still love coach Calwell, and I
- 1:27:57Speaker 8: feel like I should be in Detroit. Give them the
- 1:28:00Speaker 8: to match, he said, he went back and they didn't
- 1:28:04Speaker 8: want to match.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: Where were they at before? How far off were they?
- 1:28:07Speaker 8: I'll let you ask them. Okay, get Sheilahan on the
- 1:28:11Speaker 8: busting with the boys, and you asked her, do you
- 1:28:14Speaker 8: know the number?
- 1:28:14Speaker 11: I know, yeah, I know the number God, And it
- 1:28:17Speaker 11: was nowhere.
- 1:28:18Speaker 8: It was nowhere near what I was getting.
- 1:28:21Speaker 5: Really.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: Nowhere near.
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: And you at this point when you respected on the way.
- 1:28:27Speaker 8: Out, oh, no question, without a question, like think of
- 1:28:32Speaker 8: it like this. You know, we joke all the time,
- 1:28:34Speaker 8: but it's all out of love, no love.
- 1:28:41Speaker 5: Clip it.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: The lines was like, oh my god, I mean, bro, how.
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: Do they not keep you? I mean, you're you're there?
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Four years?
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:28:52Speaker 11: Was there? Five years?
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: Five years? Five years of true absolute dominance?
- 1:28:56Speaker 8: Like even like saying, are we don't really know if
- 1:28:59Speaker 8: we like.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Yeah, nice little Mike adjustment.
- 1:29:05Speaker 8: All good, We don't even know, like, all right, he's
- 1:29:08Speaker 8: a head case or whatever it is.
- 1:29:09Speaker 11: Say whatever you.
- 1:29:10Speaker 8: Want to, we'll franchise you. You gotta do it for
- 1:29:13Speaker 8: one more year. I just had my one of my
- 1:29:16Speaker 8: best years of my career. Yeah, I had my rookie
- 1:29:19Speaker 8: yar had ten sacks regular season, but I had ten
- 1:29:21Speaker 8: sacks going to the playoffs, like I had eight, all right,
- 1:29:25Speaker 8: eight and a half, and then I got another two
- 1:29:27Speaker 8: in the playoff game that we should have won against Dallas.
- 1:29:30Speaker 8: So I had my best year. And you don't even
- 1:29:34Speaker 8: consider like franchising me if you're unsure you need one
- 1:29:36Speaker 8: more year to figure out, Oh, is he really worth
- 1:29:39Speaker 8: us giving him a bag?
- 1:29:40Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you gotta keep you gotta keep talent
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: like that on your roster. No, you did have a
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: couple of situations when you're in Detroit. Yeah, yeah, I've
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: heard Will talk about asking you this question. I'm gonna
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: do my best to land this plane. There's a situation
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: and where a quarterback fell on the ground.
- 1:30:02Speaker 8: Yeah, so I'll stop you there.
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: Absolutely go ahead.
- 1:30:10Speaker 8: If you recall there's you've had some incidents yourself.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: I've had a couple a couple.
- 1:30:17Speaker 8: Maybe not all of them you've been caught on. But
- 1:30:20Speaker 8: if you remember Andre Branch, yeah, you remember the time
- 1:30:24Speaker 8: you wanted to kill you killed me?
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: Yeah, when he was in the back, when I took
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: him to the back of the end zone.
- 1:30:29Speaker 8: I'm just saying that is that there's there's been some things.
- 1:30:32Speaker 8: We all have had mistakes, but they don't define us at.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: The end of the day.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: I don't disagree with that.
- 1:30:37Speaker 8: But and going into that situation, and I remember vividly
- 1:30:45Speaker 8: leaving the game at halftime and I'm sitting here and
- 1:30:47Speaker 8: you can probably find this picture. I'm talking to the
- 1:30:50Speaker 8: red and I'm like, my face is adamant. I'm saying,
- 1:30:54Speaker 8: if you don't deal with this, dude, keep punching me
- 1:30:56Speaker 8: in my face, play after play after play. It's a
- 1:31:00Speaker 8: legal hands to the face. It's not legal. If you
- 1:31:04Speaker 8: don't deal with it, I'm gonna deal with it.
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: He didn't deal with it.
- 1:31:08Speaker 11: He didn't deal with it.
- 1:31:10Speaker 5: So when you was mushing the old linment, Okay, So
- 1:31:18Speaker 5: then there's another one with the with Aaron Rodgers. Yea
- 1:31:22Speaker 5: with Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:31:23Speaker 8: Yeah, that that to me is complete bs, because if
- 1:31:28Speaker 8: you go back and watch the play like I'm toussing
- 1:31:31Speaker 8: like two or three aliment and I'm getting pushed back
- 1:31:35Speaker 8: like I don't I'm not looking. I don't have eyes
- 1:31:37Speaker 8: in the back of my head to see what he's
- 1:31:39Speaker 8: going on and what he's doing. And I think that's
- 1:31:41Speaker 8: why the NFL at the end of the day was like, hey, like,
- 1:31:45Speaker 8: look like, I'm not looking at where he's at. I
- 1:31:48Speaker 8: just got done figuring out fighting two and three of you.
- 1:31:51Speaker 5: Damn look at you like you are in full control
- 1:31:56Speaker 5: of your body. Show like the living room or something.
- 1:32:01Speaker 5: You might step on one of your kids toys. You
- 1:32:04Speaker 5: feel it, and you like stop and turn around. You
- 1:32:06Speaker 5: felt it, and then when another one it stood there
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: and yeah, and that's so real.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: You put your foot on a lego you like get
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: off of as quick as possible. You let that foot
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: sit there for a minute.
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: You let that there.
- 1:32:20Speaker 8: Believe what you want to believe at the end of
- 1:32:22Speaker 8: the day, and I'm not going to sit here. I
- 1:32:23Speaker 8: got fined for it, rightfully so or not. That's for
- 1:32:26Speaker 8: where everybody is a biased opinion or unbiased opinion.
- 1:32:28Speaker 11: You do it.
- 1:32:29Speaker 8: But on the day, like those things happen, Like there's
- 1:32:32Speaker 8: times where people are really intentional, Like we've seen some
- 1:32:35Speaker 8: stuff with some clips with some guys where like they're
- 1:32:38Speaker 8: actually like trying to hurt.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: People from the hitting somebody on interception.
- 1:32:41Speaker 8: Yeah, exactly so, but I mean exactly.
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: For he was when Andre Branch wanted to kill you.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: So we played a preseason game, maybe seventeen. Yeah, seventeen.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: We're playing a preseason game, and I take like it
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: is what it is. I took Audre Brand for a
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: ride in the back of the en zone. We ends
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: up scoring. My helmet comes off, he gets in my face.
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: I started laughing in his face, and then we go
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: off the sideline. To me, it's like football like we
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: had We had a little you know me, yes, yeah, yeah.
- 1:33:13Speaker 8: The other one is smoke and he caught some smoke
- 1:33:15Speaker 8: some times.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Yeah I did.
- 1:33:16Speaker 5: I was, you know.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure I don't know if I ever
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: say anything to you, but I would definitely would always
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: yeah against me when you hear me talking.
- 1:33:24Speaker 11: I'm sure I spoke a lot.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: I was always talking to So I take Andre Branch
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: to the to the end zone, the back of the
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: end zone after a long drive.
- 1:33:32Speaker 8: I don't know about that way I represent my dog.
- 1:33:34Speaker 8: But listen, I got him have some good bat and
- 1:33:37Speaker 8: he was.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: At uh he was at Jacksonville before that, right, Yeah,
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: so I played him a bunch, so I kind of
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: knew him. He knew me, but I took him and
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: you know whatever. So twenty eighteen happens when I get
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: knocked out. He's Andre Branch is the one that knocked
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: me out.
- 1:33:52Speaker 5: That smoke, so he was this is a plan.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: This dude was the guy saying body bag.
- 1:34:01Speaker 8: Also, I'll say this, you had there was some people
- 1:34:06Speaker 8: at your neck, No doubt Taylor had had some bounties
- 1:34:11Speaker 8: on his head, like respectful bounties or within the line
- 1:34:15Speaker 8: as much as you can.
- 1:34:18Speaker 5: Taylor, was he ever popping off to you.
- 1:34:21Speaker 8: He would chirp, but then like it's like a respectful chirt,
- 1:34:27Speaker 8: Like I'm like, I'm not afraid of you, which I respect,
- 1:34:30Speaker 8: But at the same time, I'm not finna really try
- 1:34:32Speaker 8: and piss you off, because I know if I piss
- 1:34:34Speaker 8: you off, I might I have to ask some other
- 1:34:37Speaker 8: people to get into this battle, because.
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: Yeah, for me with like a guy like Sue, if
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk shit to Sue, I'm not.
- 1:34:44Speaker 5: I don't really play you. You're like a three.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: I'll hit you in a couple of doubles every once
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: in a while, like a third down pound to be
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: out the nine. I'll just wide set you my basketball
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: with you. I'm not letting you come down come down
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: the pipe. But if I go talk to Sue, I'm
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: fucking over Roger Sapple Quinn Spain.
- 1:34:58Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, so.
- 1:35:00Speaker 8: We would have to story would be.
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: Because we didn't play You went in fifteen to Miami. Yeah,
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: so fifteen we played, y'll maybe fifteen or sixteen, Yeah,
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: And I had James Harrison my rookie year, and I
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: was mouthing off to James Harrison, but that was a
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: me and him thing. So when we go to this game,
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: it's like, hey, don't wake the sleeping giant. And it
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: was essentially like the offensive would come to me and
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: be like, if you speak to suit today, we're gonna
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: put hands on you in the locker room. Like you don't,
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: like you can say whoever you want to wear everybody else,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: but like, do not speak to suit. Right, So then
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: I would go to the banter with Sue like trying
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: to like, you know, if I can get this guy
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: to crack a smile like that, that's my fun. But
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: for him, it's like, I don't have to deal with
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: this sixty two snaps, maybe like three four snaps a game.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: So I'm trying to help my boys out with.
- 1:35:48Speaker 5: Branch hand story that's full circle.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: I did, Yeah, I knew you were on the team,
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: so I was good enough to have something in my head.
- 1:35:58Speaker 8: Huh, yeah you were.
- 1:36:00Speaker 11: You were. I mean, you definitely were.
- 1:36:05Speaker 5: And I did say, oh, I got this guy in
- 1:36:09Speaker 5: the open field. He doesn't even see me, and now
- 1:36:10Speaker 5: he's asleep on the ground.
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: They changed so after this game, they actually after the season,
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: they changed the rule of blindside blocks.
- 1:36:17Speaker 8: But the thing is, was it I don't know if
- 1:36:19Speaker 8: it was. It was changed way before that. It was
- 1:36:21Speaker 8: just only changed for probably the offense because I don't remember.
- 1:36:27Speaker 8: Kyle Van Deenbosch, he got blindsided by a receiver coming
- 1:36:31Speaker 8: out in like he's aimed at the quarterback inside and
- 1:36:35Speaker 8: dude just hit him in the side of the head.
- 1:36:38Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:36:39Speaker 8: Crazy, and he ended up having a bad neck because
- 1:36:42Speaker 8: of that and went on. So that was they started
- 1:36:44Speaker 8: protecting defense and then obviously we try to start getting
- 1:36:47Speaker 8: back at y'all. Because of that.
- 1:36:50Speaker 5: Teams would do that. They like Jets sweep on like
- 1:36:52Speaker 5: a talls or something, and the receiver would just take
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: off on the end. Bro.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: I hate to I hate to keep this on, but
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: was there was the coaching staff and this hit on me.
- 1:37:01Speaker 5: No, no, no, it was.
- 1:37:04Speaker 8: Just like it was. I would say, Branch for sure
- 1:37:08Speaker 8: had it out for you, because obviously you guys had history.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: Which I legit honestly, before that hit, I wouldn't even
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: thinking like stuff like, oh me and this Branch do
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: have any issues?
- 1:37:19Speaker 5: That's true.
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: Like I wouldn't even think like I got him. I
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: mean a few times, like when he's at Jacksonville, like
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: I played against him well, and I would obviously talk ship,
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: but in my mind, like once again, I don't feel.
- 1:37:29Speaker 8: Like you and Jordan Phillips got into it a lot, yes,
- 1:37:31Speaker 8: and he was on you like he was on.
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: He was at Buffalo. That's why I had my mix
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: up with the Bills. Remember Bill's mafia came at my
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: throat because of who was the We were literally just
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: there shacks shack gloss.
- 1:37:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:37:46Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: It was like you're a stud first round pick. And
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: I put up his stats it was like six tackles,
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: you know, for the season, and I was like you're
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: a stud. And then Phillips came at me. But the
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: weird thing about Phillips, if he's really saying these things
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: behind closed doors on the field, he's mister nice guy to.
- 1:38:01Speaker 8: Me, at least not in Miami, I don't think so.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: He probably had big Bro watching out.
- 1:38:08Speaker 8: Yeah for sure. But I remember y'all getting into it
- 1:38:10Speaker 8: a couple times, especially. I feel like here in Tennessee.
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: Miami, that was the longest game of all bro I know.
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: And so how much you.
- 1:38:19Speaker 6: Get I have no clue you with something you were
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: so you had, Oh not not bounties as in like paid, No,
- 1:38:28Speaker 6: it's just pride individual.
- 1:38:32Speaker 8: No, not hurting, like getting back at you.
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: I made a promise to myself too, which I will
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: not keep.
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: I was like, if I ever see Andre branch I
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: got to walk up and swing on him. No words. Really,
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: I remember like after like that blindside like that, I
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: was like, I gotta go up and just swinging like that.
- 1:38:48Speaker 8: But obviously it's the case for all the high loans.
- 1:38:50Speaker 11: I got a lot of people to go.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: Seven years now. I like it is what it is.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: It's over. But nothing pisses me off more than watching
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: that back and seeing y'all, I don't know if you
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: were in the clip, but being like body bag, we
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: got a body back in the coach, but I don't
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: even know.
- 1:39:05Speaker 8: I don't think I was on the field for that one.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: This is this is when they're waking my ass up
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: because there's a there was a Miami and Titan start fighting.
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: Like I woke up, and I'm like this only time
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: I see a fight, Like I get in there, I
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: have to take my boys, and they're like there. They
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: pulled me up and they're like, Taylor, you know you
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: got knocked out. You're straight, And I just start crying.
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: I didn't know even dude, I just cried from it.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: We had the same thing happened with Jack Conker, Like yeah,
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: I was like crying. Then Ben Jones are center puts
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: a towel over my head after this.
- 1:39:35Speaker 5: Yeah, you weren't so Phillips right there.
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: Yeah he said, oh yeah, he said, we got his ass.
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: Twenty fifteen, you signed the biggest deal for these defensive
- 1:39:46Speaker 5: player in the history.
- 1:39:47Speaker 11: YEP.
- 1:39:48Speaker 5: Fifteen and sixteen. You have two career years, you're like
- 1:39:51Speaker 5: top sixteen, the NFL, Top one hundred. YEAP twenty seventeen
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: season happens, and you get released after that.
- 1:39:58Speaker 8: Season first time ever cut my history.
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: What happened in Miami.
- 1:40:02Speaker 8: I would not speak of his name, but Steven Ross
- 1:40:06Speaker 8: was put in a terrible position where he had to
- 1:40:08Speaker 8: choose between me and the head coach, and rightfully so,
- 1:40:13Speaker 8: and maybe not even rightfully so. At the end of
- 1:40:16Speaker 8: the day, he had no control from my understanding, and
- 1:40:21Speaker 8: because the person that had control was the head coach
- 1:40:24Speaker 8: that had the ability to cut and bring players in
- 1:40:27Speaker 8: and whatnot. It wasn't even the GM at that time,
- 1:40:29Speaker 8: and this was like a super weird situation or whatever.
- 1:40:31Speaker 8: So this the head coach had have been debta for
- 1:40:34Speaker 8: me for whatever reason.
- 1:40:36Speaker 5: Was there a moment that caused the friction.
- 1:40:38Speaker 8: I think there was a handful of moments throughout the
- 1:40:42Speaker 8: probably two years that I was there with him as
- 1:40:44Speaker 8: a head coach, because Joe Philbin was the first coach
- 1:40:47Speaker 8: that I had in Miami, and then Dan Campbell was interim,
- 1:40:50Speaker 8: which was a blast, like a great dude to play for.
- 1:40:54Speaker 8: I got to catch up with him in Detroit recently,
- 1:40:58Speaker 8: and then this slap Dick came in as the head
- 1:41:01Speaker 8: coach for the last two years of my tenure in
- 1:41:03Speaker 8: Miami and he and.
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: He had roster control, and he goes up to the
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: owner of the Miami Dolphins and says him or.
- 1:41:11Speaker 5: Me basically crazy.
- 1:41:14Speaker 8: Yeah, and he tried to he got rid of Jaya
- 1:41:17Speaker 8: ji Uh, tried to ruin his career like and out
- 1:41:21Speaker 8: of him, like in our team meeting in like the
- 1:41:22Speaker 8: most weirdest way, and sent him to Philly. And I
- 1:41:28Speaker 8: think jag I end up winning championship with Philly, which
- 1:41:30Speaker 8: was a great situation for him. But yeah, he was
- 1:41:33Speaker 8: trying to like he had been dead as out for
- 1:41:35Speaker 8: like guys that just didn't grovel at his feet, which
- 1:41:39Speaker 8: was weird.
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: To kiss the ring from him.
- 1:41:41Speaker 8: Yeah, it's like, but what ring did you? Did you earn?
- 1:41:44Speaker 8: I don't even know if he ever won a championship.
- 1:41:46Speaker 5: Yeah, Like his.
- 1:41:48Speaker 8: Claim to fame was like I was a o c
- 1:41:49Speaker 8: or like the quarterbacks coach for Peyton. Peyton didn't need you.
- 1:41:55Speaker 8: Peyton was way good before you, Like he had Tony
- 1:41:58Speaker 8: Dudgy Jim Calwell, like he had like real coaches that
- 1:42:02Speaker 8: actually made him in like aka, his dad is a
- 1:42:05Speaker 8: boss too, So like it came with the roots.
- 1:42:08Speaker 5: Yeah, then after that, you end up going to the
- 1:42:13Speaker 5: Rams the rams.
- 1:42:14Speaker 11: Yeah, how did how.
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: Did your contract situation work? Because you ended up representing
- 1:42:18Speaker 5: yourself right.
- 1:42:19Speaker 8: Yeah, there was times where I represented myself and I
- 1:42:22Speaker 8: was always involved in my contracts and I knew like
- 1:42:26Speaker 8: so when I was trying to represent myself, it was
- 1:42:29Speaker 8: always interesting. I needed to always kind of have like
- 1:42:32Speaker 8: a face for me too, because gms didn't really want
- 1:42:34Speaker 8: to talk to me, Like Jason Light was the only
- 1:42:36Speaker 8: GM that would physically like have a real conversation when
- 1:42:40Speaker 8: I was representing myself. So it was it was always interesting.
- 1:42:43Speaker 8: But I really after my rookie deal and like kind
- 1:42:47Speaker 8: of going back to the whole thing with Detroit, my
- 1:42:50Speaker 8: rookie deal there was not what I wanted, but I said, cool,
- 1:42:54Speaker 8: you don't want to pay me more than Matthew Stafford.
- 1:42:56Speaker 8: From that standpoint, great, I'll earn it on the back end,
- 1:42:59Speaker 8: and saying like, I'll show you that I'm worth more
- 1:43:02Speaker 8: than what you're paying me, So I'll get I'll get
- 1:43:04Speaker 8: on the back end and prove it to you. And
- 1:43:05Speaker 8: so going back to your common of like representing yourself,
- 1:43:08Speaker 8: I started reading contracts understanding it got with the PA,
- 1:43:12Speaker 8: saw all the different rules, saw offset clauses and then
- 1:43:16Speaker 8: seeing like the difference between cash over cap and all
- 1:43:20Speaker 8: these different particular pieces. And so when I got cut,
- 1:43:23Speaker 8: like I got to go, I chose between New Orleans LA,
- 1:43:27Speaker 8: and I was looking at the Raiders again because I
- 1:43:31Speaker 8: think Gruden was the head coach there at the time
- 1:43:34Speaker 8: and whatnot. And but LA ended up being the better
- 1:43:36Speaker 8: situation because my guy Ted Rath was there and he
- 1:43:41Speaker 8: really was kind of the one over the hunt. And
- 1:43:43Speaker 8: then I had a really an amazing dinner with Cronky,
- 1:43:45Speaker 8: and Cronky and his family are amazing great people. So
- 1:43:49Speaker 8: like it was, it was just a good situation. But
- 1:43:51Speaker 8: I was always involved in my contracts, man, Like you
- 1:43:52Speaker 8: got to understand the numbers. You got to understand what
- 1:43:54Speaker 8: you're signing up for and what you're getting into and
- 1:43:57Speaker 8: just the nuances of how you can have leverage but
- 1:44:00Speaker 8: also have an opportunity to make the.
- 1:44:02Speaker 5: Most confidence negotiating.
- 1:44:04Speaker 8: Yeah, how how is that so much fun? Because how are.
- 1:44:09Speaker 5: You prepping yourself on that? Is there something that is
- 1:44:11Speaker 5: there questions you're asking a mentor is there a reading
- 1:44:14Speaker 5: that you're doing?
- 1:44:15Speaker 8: So I want to equip you for Yeah, so I
- 1:44:18Speaker 8: I leveraged the PA a lot, and uh, he may
- 1:44:21Speaker 8: probably not want me to say this, but Don Davis
- 1:44:23Speaker 8: gave me a ton of information of like how to
- 1:44:26Speaker 8: understand the deals. But then also like where previous guys
- 1:44:31Speaker 8: are where they've had some success, were their stats, like
- 1:44:34Speaker 8: putting these spreadsheets together and alin it and all together,
- 1:44:37Speaker 8: putting it together. It's like you really want to go
- 1:44:40Speaker 8: the stat piece, like we can have fun with this,
- 1:44:42Speaker 8: and then let's go look at percentage of what it's
- 1:44:46Speaker 8: the analytics, what's the big analytics group that was out
- 1:44:48Speaker 8: and it's still kind of out there now pff, and
- 1:44:52Speaker 8: like seeing like all those different things and like they're misconstrued.
- 1:44:56Speaker 8: But also they show some pictures of like how many
- 1:45:00Speaker 8: people that I'm double team with, Like that year that
- 1:45:02Speaker 8: I was with me and Aaron Donald, Like I got
- 1:45:04Speaker 8: more double teams in Aaron Donald. Like if you go
- 1:45:06Speaker 8: back and look at the math, because that was on
- 1:45:09Speaker 8: purpose though we put him his positions to go win
- 1:45:11Speaker 8: one on once, Aaron Donald one on once. He's gonna
- 1:45:14Speaker 8: win every single time, so why not take so my
- 1:45:16Speaker 8: stats look terrible then, but then you back that up.
- 1:45:19Speaker 8: He had his career year in sacks. Then you turn
- 1:45:22Speaker 8: around the next year, I'm gone not as good as
- 1:45:24Speaker 8: stats for him, but still obviously a great and amazing player.
- 1:45:28Speaker 8: Shaq Barrett, who's considered a nobody, leads the league in sacks. Yeah,
- 1:45:33Speaker 8: there's a common de neighbor denominator there, right, Like let's
- 1:45:36Speaker 8: let's let's put the pieces of puzzle together. So like ultimately,
- 1:45:39Speaker 8: like when you like, when you're in those negotiations, those
- 1:45:42Speaker 8: are the things that you have to lay out to
- 1:45:43Speaker 8: them to say, oh, like he does have a point
- 1:45:46Speaker 8: in some point that I can't refute.
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: When when you're going through these negotiations, what do you
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: think is the most uh overlook stat that these gms
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: and teams like you brough up a great point with
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: the double teams like people a lot of times, I think,
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: especially just regular fans can go and google what is
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: the domink ensous stats twenty eighteen. Yeah, and you just
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: look at that, but you don't see the full picture.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: What are some things that you see gms and teams
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: maybe not evaluating and not they don't notice when it
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: comes to contract negotiations.
- 1:46:13Speaker 8: Two things I would say there for you, when you
- 1:46:16Speaker 8: were in your offensive line meetings and you're OC, did
- 1:46:20Speaker 8: your OC ever circle me?
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:46:23Speaker 8: That's one two. I would probably have to say, if
- 1:46:28Speaker 8: you ultimately look at intangibles as that person, how do
- 1:46:32Speaker 8: they affect the team, like in a positive manner or
- 1:46:35Speaker 8: a negative? Are they a cancer or are they not
- 1:46:38Speaker 8: a cancer? Do they elevate guys? Do they bring guys
- 1:46:40Speaker 8: around them and make them better. It's another intangible that
- 1:46:44Speaker 8: you can't really quantify, but it's very, very important, And
- 1:46:48Speaker 8: I would always take this as the greatest compliment. Guys
- 1:46:54Speaker 8: would hate to play against me, but would love for
- 1:46:55Speaker 8: me to be on their team, especially once you actually
- 1:46:58Speaker 8: got to know me and be around me, because I think,
- 1:47:00Speaker 8: like Vita said, it like probably the best and like,
- 1:47:03Speaker 8: I mean, we're even closer now than we were we
- 1:47:05Speaker 8: when we played together. But when I first got to Tampa,
- 1:47:08Speaker 8: he was like I just had Jared McCoy, super fun,
- 1:47:10Speaker 8: loving dude. Like I got sued, now, Like how am
- 1:47:15Speaker 8: I going to deal? Like everybody is like worst person,
- 1:47:20Speaker 8: all these different things, and like not he's like total
- 1:47:23Speaker 8: opposite of type of person I am.
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: So do you think a lot of people you were
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: more of the more misunderstood players in NFL history?
- 1:47:32Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:47:32Speaker 8: For sure. But I also realized early on in my career,
- 1:47:35Speaker 8: especially after probably like twenty twelve, twenty thirteen, there's got
- 1:47:40Speaker 8: to be a villain in the league. There's going to
- 1:47:42Speaker 8: be the pretty boy, and then there's going to be
- 1:47:43Speaker 8: the All Star and sometimes too. So I was a
- 1:47:46Speaker 8: villain pretty boy probably Tom would say that, and then
- 1:47:52Speaker 8: like the Angel and like the All World, I'd probably
- 1:47:55Speaker 8: say for a short period of time, you got t
- 1:47:58Speaker 8: bow And then obviously Peyton.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you did play a great heel. You did play
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: a fantastic heel. So you as you were kind of
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: realizing and having that like, Okay, there's these kind of
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: three main characters in an NFL season, and he realized
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: where you kind of line up as the villain. Did
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: you find yourself pulling away from that characteristics or like
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: buying more into Okay, if this is what the world
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: wants to see me, as that's what I'm going to show.
- 1:48:22Speaker 8: Them, then it's interesting that you asked that question. So
- 1:48:26Speaker 8: I think probably the best meeting that I had when
- 1:48:29Speaker 8: I got suspended in twenty eleven, I went and Phil
- 1:48:35Speaker 8: Knight called me into his office. I was home. He
- 1:48:37Speaker 8: found out I was home. There's somebody who's super close
- 1:48:40Speaker 8: between the two of us. I connected us it's funny.
- 1:48:43Speaker 8: I just I just talked to him yesterday and he
- 1:48:48Speaker 8: pulled me into his office and requested me to come.
- 1:48:50Speaker 8: So I went and sat down with him. He was like, man,
- 1:48:52Speaker 8: you may not realize it right now, but we're going
- 1:48:55Speaker 8: to leverage this and we're going to put you in commercials.
- 1:48:57Speaker 8: We're going to do different great things. So that's how
- 1:48:59Speaker 8: I kind of leaned into it, and that's why I'm
- 1:49:01Speaker 8: so loyal to the brand of Nike, because they saw
- 1:49:05Speaker 8: something and Phil saw something in me, not only being
- 1:49:08Speaker 8: a hometown kid, but seeing me as an individual and
- 1:49:11Speaker 8: being able to say, we can build some special stuff
- 1:49:13Speaker 8: around you. Uh, and that is even more special because
- 1:49:16Speaker 8: you're on the defense side of the ball. You're not
- 1:49:18Speaker 8: Calvin catching balls, you're not a quarterback throwing it. Like,
- 1:49:21Speaker 8: we're going to leverage you from that standpoint, and there's
- 1:49:24Speaker 8: going to be other things that you can do. And
- 1:49:26Speaker 8: like they let me have so much access and different
- 1:49:28Speaker 8: things like that, and like, I'm so happy even from
- 1:49:30Speaker 8: Nike's perspective now, I think they're on a rocket ship,
- 1:49:34Speaker 8: especially now with Elliott Hill at the Helm, who I
- 1:49:37Speaker 8: interned underneath in twenty twelve.
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: So oh shit, Yeah, so that's the reason why you
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: didn't pick your foot up and you fell.
- 1:49:43Speaker 5: Darann Rogers cat.
- 1:49:46Speaker 11: I believe that.
- 1:49:48Speaker 5: Come on, you take pride and being like, what is it?
- 1:49:50Speaker 5: Number two? Old time in fines over t career.
- 1:49:54Speaker 8: They went, they went to help some kids, hopefully did you.
- 1:49:58Speaker 5: End up seeing There was an article that an elementary
- 1:50:02Speaker 5: school did back in the early twenty ten's. His name
- 1:50:04Speaker 5: was Alex and he the theme for the project was
- 1:50:08Speaker 5: write a paper on your role model. His role model
- 1:50:12Speaker 5: was you, because he wanted to prove that you're one
- 1:50:14Speaker 5: of the most misunderstood You're the most misunderstood player in
- 1:50:18Speaker 5: the NFL. Teacher wouldn't let him and told his mom, hey,
- 1:50:22Speaker 5: he needs to rethink somebody else. She felt like she
- 1:50:24Speaker 5: knew enough about you to know you shouldn't be writing
- 1:50:27Speaker 5: on a Dominican su They go back and forth, kids up,
- 1:50:30Speaker 5: she ends up, the teacher concedes, kid ends up writing
- 1:50:33Speaker 5: the paper. She grades him an a and ends up apologizing,
- 1:50:37Speaker 5: saying she had she had a misrepresentation on who you were.
- 1:50:42Speaker 5: Did you do you remember that? Do you remember that
- 1:50:44Speaker 5: article at all? Because the kid did a research paper
- 1:50:47Speaker 5: and might have got connected with somebody on your side
- 1:50:49Speaker 5: but I thought it was cool that a kid was
- 1:50:50Speaker 5: so influenced by you and wanted to prove that, Hey,
- 1:50:53Speaker 5: this dude, for the antics you might see, he's one
- 1:50:55Speaker 5: of the most misunderstood guys in the NFL.
- 1:50:57Speaker 8: No, that's super dope. I honestly don't remember. I'd love
- 1:51:00Speaker 8: to see the article to this day for sure, and
- 1:51:02Speaker 8: then I'd be remiss not to say this. You got
- 1:51:05Speaker 8: to give a lot of credit to that teacher because
- 1:51:07Speaker 8: you usually hear the opposite of the stories where this
- 1:51:09Speaker 8: teacher puts their foot down and they end up creating something,
- 1:51:13Speaker 8: and the friction between them and that child, and that
- 1:51:16Speaker 8: that teacher was like, Man, I'm an adult enough to
- 1:51:18Speaker 8: be humble enough to say this child like I was
- 1:51:21Speaker 8: wrong and you proved me right, and I appreciate that.
- 1:51:25Speaker 8: So you got to give that teacher kudos as well.
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: We got about ten minutes left to I have a
- 1:51:29Speaker 5: couple more questions for you. Would say that Ricky Henry
- 1:51:34Speaker 5: thinks you misunderstood.
- 1:51:35Speaker 8: Why you say, Ricky Hendrey, Yeah, Ricky had some battle,
- 1:51:39Speaker 8: remember I remember, Ricky. Yeah, give me a little details.
- 1:51:43Speaker 5: You dropped him. I gave nobody on the field said
- 1:51:52Speaker 5: a word and everybody just kind of moved ten yards
- 1:51:56Speaker 5: and we continued the scrimmage.
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: We continued to give give me more, give me more context.
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: Anybody else does more contact on what happened Ricky, who
- 1:52:04Speaker 5: knows they were getting into a battle. Ricky could have been.
- 1:52:07Speaker 8: So I'll explain to you this way, Taylor, Taylor, if
- 1:52:12Speaker 8: if the reason why on.
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: The field, I'm trying to give you up everybody.
- 1:52:20Speaker 8: The reason why my a c O was torn. And
- 1:52:22Speaker 8: people don't know this. I don't remember we're doing one
- 1:52:25Speaker 8: on ones. I don't remember this guy's name. He was
- 1:52:28Speaker 8: offensive tackle, but he was like tweeting between tackling car.
- 1:52:33Speaker 8: He tugs on my jersey after I beat him, and
- 1:52:36Speaker 8: that was the first time I tore.
- 1:52:37Speaker 11: My a c O.
- 1:52:39Speaker 8: And we always told dudes, dude, once we beat you,
- 1:52:42Speaker 8: let us go. You know, Ricky's hard headed. Ricky don't listen.
- 1:52:49Speaker 8: Ricky does what Ricky wants to do. So Ricky had
- 1:52:51Speaker 8: to learn the hard way.
- 1:52:56Speaker 5: Hey, But the difference is, Taylor, you know, any other
- 1:52:58Speaker 5: player does it. You're getting something's happened. And now, yeah,
- 1:53:04Speaker 5: that was you going into your senior year. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:53:08Speaker 5: no big suit. But that's what I'm saying, everybody looks like,
- 1:53:11Speaker 5: oh fuck.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: Just laying there in the corner.
- 1:53:15Speaker 5: Move it up ten like you know, guys. Guys might
- 1:53:17Speaker 5: get into a scuff afterwards, both and everybody take off running.
- 1:53:21Speaker 5: Everybody do this discipline. Something nobody said a war just
- 1:53:25Speaker 5: kept the movie. They said nothing to suit.
- 1:53:27Speaker 8: Yeah, we we had a conversation though, But how was.
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: At a spring practice? When did we go out?
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: There?
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: Was it last year? Some last year was him and computer.
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: They were all ripping around enjoying spring practice. But they're
- 1:53:41Speaker 5: doing well, they're doing well. But yeah, that memory will
- 1:53:45Speaker 5: always be ingrained in my brain.
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: Yeah that's a core memory for you.
- 1:53:49Speaker 5: That's a poor one because I see Sue like we weren't.
- 1:53:52Speaker 5: We weren't like he was tyed with my boy, my
- 1:53:53Speaker 5: roommate Zoe Whaley. But I never got the like rock
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: with Sue. It was just always the war lore.
- 1:54:02Speaker 11: There was no lore bro the.
- 1:54:06Speaker 5: Absolutely we have so many like middle You.
- 1:54:09Speaker 8: Were around all the time because you was cool, my
- 1:54:12Speaker 8: boy harf absolutely so obviously so, but you weren't like
- 1:54:19Speaker 8: all right, was my click, My click was me Harve,
- 1:54:26Speaker 8: my ace. But Cody wasn't really there. Cody was there
- 1:54:30Speaker 8: like towards that he would be in and out because
- 1:54:31Speaker 8: he was dating oh girl, Yeah, and he was in
- 1:54:33Speaker 8: the league, and so he would come in and out.
- 1:54:36Speaker 8: But yeah and Zoe. So it was like mainly me
- 1:54:39Speaker 8: and Harves. That would be obviously like we go out
- 1:54:41Speaker 8: and have fun and whatnot, and you would be able
- 1:54:44Speaker 8: to be around, but you could be in the mix
- 1:54:46Speaker 8: mix because we'd also be in some places where like
- 1:54:49Speaker 8: you know, some of the parties, like you're kind of
- 1:54:52Speaker 8: the only white guy there.
- 1:54:56Speaker 11: But it was it was fun, man.
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: But you got token.
- 1:55:00Speaker 5: I was talking. My boy was Zoe Fonzo, like the
- 1:55:02Speaker 5: crew that I hung with. But I would just try
- 1:55:04Speaker 5: and place myself in this situe. You know, I fucking
- 1:55:06Speaker 5: around with Sue and he called me like, fuck boy,
- 1:55:10Speaker 5: that's my guy.
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: That's my guy.
- 1:55:14Speaker 5: He like cuts me out walking past me in the
- 1:55:16Speaker 5: hallway and I'd be walking next to to me. I beg,
- 1:55:17Speaker 5: that's us. That's just how we operate.
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: Some people going like, well's got a weird thing with
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: eat a bullome or something. We had eight minutes hold
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: on before you asked that question. I want to know
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: on your board, somebody on your board invested a lot
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: of money in Coca Cola a long time ago. Okay,
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: how did you get the relationship with Warren Buffett?
- 1:55:38Speaker 5: Uh?
- 1:55:39Speaker 8: Easy answer and quick answer.
- 1:55:43Speaker 11: Would be Tom Osborne.
- 1:55:44Speaker 8: Uh So my senior year he was an honorary captain
- 1:55:49Speaker 8: as in mister Buffett, and I was like, they wanted
- 1:55:52Speaker 8: me to meet him, and I was like, they asked me,
- 1:55:54Speaker 8: do you even know who he is? I was like,
- 1:55:56Speaker 8: do I live under a rock? Of course I knew
- 1:55:58Speaker 8: who it is. So for that season, I asked Thomas, hey,
- 1:56:02Speaker 8: it would you introduce us? And he was like, I will,
- 1:56:05Speaker 8: but I can't guarantee he'll meet with you.
- 1:56:07Speaker 11: And I was like, totally cool.
- 1:56:08Speaker 8: So uh he said yes. I got to his office
- 1:56:12Speaker 8: two hours before the meeting time, sat there and it
- 1:56:15Speaker 8: was like talking to my dad and we just hit
- 1:56:18Speaker 8: it off. It took a liking to me. I always
- 1:56:21Speaker 8: followed up to it with him. Was just at Berkshire
- 1:56:24Speaker 8: Hathaway meeting this past May. I got to see that
- 1:56:27Speaker 8: great announcement and I mean I even he's spent time
- 1:56:31Speaker 8: with my wife, my boys, like he's one of the best.
- 1:56:35Speaker 11: That's awesome.
- 1:56:35Speaker 5: Quick break for mendamk En Sue to bring you new

- 1:57:14Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:57:15Speaker 5: I was doing my homework and catching up on your
- 1:57:17Speaker 5: new show, No Free Lunch, a podcast that you just
- 1:57:20Speaker 5: launched not too long ago, And one question you always
- 1:57:23Speaker 5: ask your guests at the end is what is the
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: biggest price that you've paid for a breakthrough? So now you,
- 1:57:29Speaker 5: being a guest, I will ask you what's the biggest
- 1:57:32Speaker 5: price that you paid for a breakthrough?
- 1:57:34Speaker 8: I mean if I have to pick one. I've had
- 1:57:39Speaker 8: been fortunate enough to have a lot of breakthroughs in
- 1:57:41Speaker 8: life and a lot of lessons learned. But I think
- 1:57:44Speaker 8: the biggest price to date I've had to take was
- 1:57:47Speaker 8: losing my dad this past summer. That was, man, one
- 1:57:52Speaker 8: of the toughest things I've ever had to deal with.
- 1:57:55Speaker 8: And I don't want to get emotional, but yeah, I'll
- 1:57:57Speaker 8: leave it there. It's it's still it still sucks to
- 1:58:00Speaker 8: this day, but he's somebody that I miss talking to
- 1:58:04Speaker 8: every single day and I learned so much from him
- 1:58:06Speaker 8: and whatnot.
- 1:58:08Speaker 5: I appreciate that. Man. It makes me emotional hearing that too,
- 1:58:11Speaker 5: because I was reading up on the way you talk
- 1:58:12Speaker 5: about your dad. I lost my mom a few years ago,
- 1:58:15Speaker 5: and I feel like it's such a shitty thing that happens,
- 1:58:19Speaker 5: but you being a father, it's like the only way
- 1:58:22Speaker 5: you keep them alive and keep them around. I would
- 1:58:25Speaker 5: love to say, like, yes, I would be the same
- 1:58:27Speaker 5: intentional dad that I would be that I am right now,
- 1:58:30Speaker 5: you know if my mom was still around. But I
- 1:58:32Speaker 5: feel like it's made me that much more intentional about
- 1:58:34Speaker 5: being a father because of what that person meant to you.
- 1:58:38Speaker 8: I'll give you this short example. My dad and I
- 1:58:41Speaker 8: were super close. We built a lot of projects together
- 1:58:44Speaker 8: from a real estate perspective, and he was in the
- 1:58:46Speaker 8: construction industry. He's a mechanical engineer. And there's a property
- 1:58:51Speaker 8: and it's so weird and it's so eerie. He was like,
- 1:58:55Speaker 8: I want us to go buy this property, and I'm like, Dad,
- 1:58:58Speaker 8: I love you, but no, I'm busy. I'm gonna go
- 1:59:00Speaker 8: do some other stuff. Ye he goes and buys the
- 1:59:02Speaker 8: property without me. He buys it on contract, and like
- 1:59:07Speaker 8: six months later he comes back and he's like, son,
- 1:59:11Speaker 8: I bought this property, like I want to refinance it
- 1:59:13Speaker 8: or whatever. And I was like, don't do it. Here's
- 1:59:15Speaker 8: a cash like we'll we'll develop it later. And I'm
- 1:59:17Speaker 8: just like, here's the money, like leave me alone, Like
- 1:59:20Speaker 8: let's let's go work on some other stuff. That's because
- 1:59:22Speaker 8: we're at that I think at that time we were
- 1:59:24Speaker 8: building like fifteen apartments somewhere, a multi family. That's really
- 1:59:27Speaker 8: my big focus at the time, and this was like
- 1:59:29Speaker 8: a warehouse spot this today in the last six months.
- 1:59:34Speaker 8: You probably see it on my Instagram or whatever if
- 1:59:35Speaker 8: you follow me or whatever. And I'd go there almost
- 1:59:40Speaker 8: five times a week with my boys, porn concrete, building stuff,
- 1:59:46Speaker 8: using my excavator, using my skids steer, Like it is insane.
- 1:59:49Speaker 8: And I wouldn't have had that if my dad would
- 1:59:51Speaker 8: have brought that property. So it's like and my kids
- 1:59:53Speaker 8: are immersed in loving doing that stuff and it's humbling,
- 1:59:57Speaker 8: like moving stuff, moving earth and like these different things
- 2:00:00Speaker 8: and like so it's crazy. Like he had this crazy
- 2:00:04Speaker 8: vision of like real estate and stuff that I missed
- 2:00:06Speaker 8: being able to talk to him about.
- 2:00:07Speaker 5: That's amazing, bro. That is he Also I know that
- 2:00:11Speaker 5: there was it was you retired on July twelfth, or
- 2:00:14Speaker 5: a year after your dad had passed, and there was
- 2:00:18Speaker 5: a quote, I think from your dad saying like let
- 2:00:19Speaker 5: the game of football go. Yeah, how was that conversation going?
- 2:00:23Speaker 5: Were you like talking about juggling football? And he just
- 2:00:26Speaker 5: kind of was like, hey, here's here's what my opinion is.
- 2:00:28Speaker 8: So he was it's insane. He was diagnosed with prostate
- 2:00:31Speaker 8: cancer in twenty nineteen, stage four, so he when we
- 2:00:36Speaker 8: found that out, he was supposed to be.
- 2:00:38Speaker 2: Maybe a year.
- 2:00:39Speaker 8: For lucky you didn't pass until twenty twenty four, five
- 2:00:44Speaker 8: years later. Like, it's insane from that standpoint, and so
- 2:00:51Speaker 8: when he's asked me to retire, he's like, basically, spend
- 2:00:55Speaker 8: time with me, Spend time with your family. Like me
- 2:00:57Speaker 8: and my older sister were in a feud, and he's like,
- 2:00:59Speaker 8: spend time with your older sister, like even though she
- 2:01:02Speaker 8: was wrong, some things you were wrong and some things
- 2:01:04Speaker 8: like bring the family back together, and like let's do that.
- 2:01:08Speaker 8: And it's it's so that's where like it was more
- 2:01:11Speaker 8: meaningful for me to do it that day than than
- 2:01:13Speaker 8: anything because he'd always wanted me to retire, and I
- 2:01:16Speaker 8: was like, I want to go chase the second ring.
- 2:01:18Speaker 8: I want to go chase the second ring. And like
- 2:01:21Speaker 8: I'd always sit in the back of my head like
- 2:01:22Speaker 8: having that there with me, like, nah, I'm not I'm
- 2:01:24Speaker 8: not going to do that. I need to go spend
- 2:01:26Speaker 8: time with my family, my boys, my wife, and kind
- 2:01:29Speaker 8: of go from there.
- 2:01:30Speaker 5: I love that man. That is beautiful. You want to
- 2:01:32Speaker 5: ask him the bud like question, Yeah, I can't.
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I'll ask it. No, I'll ask it.
- 2:01:38Speaker 1: So and he would people would do anything for ice, cold,
- 2:01:42Speaker 1: bud light, anything. What is something you would do anything for?
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: Can't say family, can't say family?
- 2:01:49Speaker 5: Yeah, be the most successful ex football player to ever.
- 2:01:57Speaker 8: Live now, because like there's always going to be the
- 2:02:01Speaker 8: next person that's probably most successful to me, So it's
- 2:02:05Speaker 8: hard to say that. I mean, I believe everything happens
- 2:02:10Speaker 8: for a reason, Like the family is really the only
- 2:02:13Speaker 8: thing I would do anything for. To be honest with you,
- 2:02:15Speaker 8: Like money's cool and all, but it's not the end
- 2:02:20Speaker 8: all be all.
- 2:02:21Speaker 5: Like what's an ambition in your like development, whatever whatever
- 2:02:24Speaker 5: venture you're getting into. You mentioned AI earlier, But what's
- 2:02:28Speaker 5: like a selfish ambition you would like to accomplish.
- 2:02:33Speaker 8: A selfish ambition? I would say my friends that I'm
- 2:02:38Speaker 8: really close to to understand the circles that I've been
- 2:02:43Speaker 8: able to be in is afforded to them at all times,
- 2:02:47Speaker 8: at all levels. And that's what I don't think they
- 2:02:50Speaker 8: understand because my mentors that the Warren buffets. I'm not
- 2:02:55Speaker 8: going to say these other guys' names, but like I
- 2:02:58Speaker 8: just got pressed out in the hand and it was
- 2:03:00Speaker 8: like really rewarding and a great feeling at the same time.
- 2:03:04Speaker 8: But it's like, stop wasting your time with some of
- 2:03:06Speaker 8: these other stuff and like really just come work with
- 2:03:09Speaker 8: us and like let's go build some fun stuff, like
- 2:03:11Speaker 8: be focused and basically saying, take advantage of the access
- 2:03:17Speaker 8: we're giving you.
- 2:03:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I will, And I don't think we're all building
- 2:03:23Speaker 1: a property to.
- 2:03:24Speaker 11: Yeah we are.
- 2:03:25Speaker 8: Yeah, No, I'm I'm dead ass.
- 2:03:28Speaker 5: Hey I am dead ass. I think I can say
- 2:03:30Speaker 5: we are dead ass.
- 2:03:31Speaker 1: We're dead ass. We collectively, the three of us are
- 2:03:34Speaker 1: dead ass, right, Yeah, because he.
- 2:03:35Speaker 5: Said, he's like, please tell me you want it, And
- 2:03:37Speaker 5: it pained me to be like, I know, we have tried.
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: It didn't work, but buddy, we up until very recently,
- 2:03:45Speaker 1: we've been very balling on a budget, like just trying
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: to utilize every single extra dollar to gain more access
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: to this better quality that and like you see the
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: things along with the amazing partners we have, Like yeah,
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: we now have the access and the funds to start
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: like taking next steps, which is awesome, but it really
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: is like literally the last what two weeks, three weeks
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: for you and me.
- 2:04:04Speaker 8: Who's who's the best construction company in Tennessee right now?
- 2:04:08Speaker 1: Construction company?
- 2:04:09Speaker 8: Yeah, maybe maybe there's a partnership there.
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: You know a guy named Ford Tomlin who his family
- 2:04:15Speaker 1: has been in like a commercial real estate and construction
- 2:04:19Speaker 1: for a long time. Success.
- 2:04:21Speaker 8: There's a ton of Cranes. Was just driving down the street,
- 2:04:24Speaker 8: like I saw people that.
- 2:04:25Speaker 1: There's a guy named Tony who built five h five.
- 2:04:28Speaker 8: That building the new stadium.
- 2:04:33Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 2:04:34Speaker 1: And these are all the questions like this, like when yeah,
- 2:04:37Speaker 1: when you're like when I'm on a microphone, people are
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: listening to us right now and you're asking this question.
- 2:04:41Speaker 1: I'm feeling dumber because I'm like, it's no, no, no, It's
- 2:04:44Speaker 1: like a level of like that is something that you
- 2:04:47Speaker 1: literally should just find out and make a relationship with.
- 2:04:49Speaker 1: Like you see the Cranes, it should click in your head,
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: like there's so much going on, I wonder how we
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: could be a part of X, Y and Z.
- 2:04:55Speaker 11: And going to do is bring me in.
- 2:04:57Speaker 8: I'm gonna be a real estate vertical for you guys.
- 2:04:59Speaker 8: Let's go.
- 2:05:00Speaker 5: I love that every.
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: One cheeky, bullshit, clippy question before you go. If you
- 2:05:10Speaker 1: could choose, if you could change, go back in time
- 2:05:12Speaker 1: and change one thing about your NFL career, what would
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: you change?
- 2:05:15Speaker 5: Nothing?
- 2:05:16Speaker 1: Come on, there's not one thing, one altercation, one conversation, penalty,
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: one play, nothing.
- 2:05:24Speaker 8: Because it would it would I wouldn't be who I
- 2:05:25Speaker 8: am today if I didn't have.
- 2:05:26Speaker 1: That butterflyffa guy cut your guy right now. It's a
- 2:05:31Speaker 1: great movie, but there's not one thing.
- 2:05:34Speaker 5: Like he he. I'll give you one.
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: I'll give you one. I wish I had looked the
- 2:05:37Speaker 1: left in twenty eighteen against the Miami Dolphins, right like,
- 2:05:40Speaker 1: that's that's a good one.
- 2:05:42Speaker 5: You ever get got?
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: I got his ass once.
- 2:05:46Speaker 8: I've ever gotten got, I've gotten got. But you wouldn't
- 2:05:48Speaker 8: have known that I got got hey.
- 2:05:51Speaker 5: I got you once.
- 2:05:52Speaker 1: Win double team took you, I took your took you
- 2:05:55Speaker 1: back win Miami.
- 2:05:58Speaker 11: Pull a clip up.
- 2:06:00Speaker 1: Listen, we're having a good time here. There was a couple. Man,
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: we caught you slipping.
- 2:06:09Speaker 5: I caught that hip a little bit.
- 2:06:10Speaker 1: All I'm saying everyone.
- 2:06:13Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, getting my hip.
- 2:06:15Speaker 5: Yeah, we take you about five six I mean, huh
- 2:06:18Speaker 5: five six yards.
- 2:06:21Speaker 8: Maybe like a yard and a half yard and a
- 2:06:24Speaker 8: come on, man, because you know I'm usually spinning out
- 2:06:27Speaker 8: of those things once I once, once I feel that,
- 2:06:30Speaker 8: I'm like, just go and get it out of here.
- 2:06:33Speaker 8: I took that loss.
- 2:06:37Speaker 1: Hit the tap. Let me get water too.
- 2:06:41Speaker 5: You've never been like put down.
- 2:06:44Speaker 8: I mean there's been some times where like I've jumped
- 2:06:47Speaker 8: up in the air and guys have like pushed me
- 2:06:49Speaker 8: down and got me like that, but like somebody just
- 2:06:52Speaker 8: a main handling me. I don't I don't see that.
- 2:06:56Speaker 1: Did you have a welcome to the NFL moment?
- 2:06:58Speaker 8: Welcome to the NFL? I don't think so, but somebody
- 2:07:08Speaker 8: else might you.
- 2:07:10Speaker 5: Have an welcome to the NFL moment? The NFL had
- 2:07:12Speaker 5: a welcome, Yeah, welcome to the Hey, we appreciate you,
