SPEAKER_02: We are gonna get a good heat up today.
• 0:01
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's not a heat dome, but it's uh it's gonna be about ninety, just about there.
• 0:06
SPEAKER_02: Maybe some of those showers and thunderstorms over the next, I'm gonna say from tonight through tomorrow night.
• 0:11
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 0:12
SPEAKER_02: Um, but then my gosh, does the rest of the weekend look perfect?
• 0:15
SPEAKER_01: I did see the showers would probably hit tomorrow, three, four in the afternoon, but it's totally fine.
• 0:20
SPEAKER_01: And I posted this on our stories just yesterday.
• 0:22
SPEAKER_01: Uh yesterday I was in the infrared sauna.
• 0:25
SPEAKER_01: So while I'm sitting there, I'm like, okay, I want to do that.
• 0:26
SPEAKER_01: So I can have to eat though.
• 0:28
SPEAKER_01: I know, tell me about it, but I love it.
• 0:29
SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it's such a good sweat.
• 0:30
SPEAKER_01: But I posted that we are so busy over the next three days.
• 0:35
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 0:35
SPEAKER_01: And I wanted to make sure everyone knew exactly where we were gonna be when.
• 0:38
SPEAKER_01: Like today, this is the kickoff to it.
• 0:40
SPEAKER_01: I'll be at Martha Lloyd for the job fair, and that's from one to three today.
• 0:45
SPEAKER_01: That is, it's in front of the copper tree in Troy, if you've never been.
• 0:49
SPEAKER_01: It's a great place where you can get like suites and confections and things like that.
• 0:52
SPEAKER_01: Oh, but Martha Lloyd helps individuals with developmental disabilities.
• 0:57
SPEAKER_01: You can be one-on-one with them.
• 0:59
SPEAKER_01: Maybe that's not your thing, and you're more of somebody who does the financial part of a business, they have an opening for that leadership and development, even maintenance.
• 1:08
  SPEAKER_01: Bring your resume.
• 1:09
  SPEAKER_01: I'll see you today.
• 1:10
SPEAKER_01: And I know we're gonna be out two more times, and that'll be on Saturday.
• 1:14
SPEAKER_01: Go check out the stories on the Scott Nally show.
• 1:16
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we uh it's a busy weekend, but is the season for that.
• 1:20
SPEAKER_02: Okay, speaking of busy weekends, so I'm gonna take you back to the Fourth of July weekend for just a second.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_02: I'm obviously, you know, right there.
• 1:27
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:28
  SPEAKER_02: So remember it well.
• 1:30
SPEAKER_02: Sometimes, uh, well, that's an accomplishment because some people probably don't.
• 1:34
SPEAKER_02: Uh sometimes things become like an impromptu, you get invited to something, or you get kind of included in uh like originally, maybe you weren't invited to your neighbor's cookout where all their friends were coming, the neighbor's friends.
• 1:50
SPEAKER_01: But you run into them and they're like, Yeah, come over.
• 1:53
  SPEAKER_02: Come on, stop by.
• 1:54
SPEAKER_02: Be a part of this with us here.
• 1:56
SPEAKER_02: I want you to listen to what happened to this woman.
• 1:58
SPEAKER_02: And I pretty much I think I I will be shocked if anyone sees a different outcome than what I expect to happen, but listen to this.
• 2:05
SPEAKER_00: I got invoice for attending my neighbor's Fourth of July party.
• 2:09
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I thought she was joking when she told me that I owed her$358 for fireworks.
• 2:17
SPEAKER_00: She said that since I watched them too, I need to split the cost.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: Mind you, I didn't ask for fireworks.
• 2:25
SPEAKER_00: I didn't help pick any fireworks out.
• 2:27
  SPEAKER_00: I didn't agree to chip in.
• 2:29
SPEAKER_00: I just accepted the last-minute invitation over to her house for a little barbecue.
• 2:35
SPEAKER_01: Oh, and what about the neighbor who's watching two doors down?
• 2:39
SPEAKER_02: That didn't get the invite?
• 2:40
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 2:41
SPEAKER_02: Well, who might be annoyed by the fireworks?
• 2:44
SPEAKER_01: Or they're just watching them because they're like, well, I didn't get invited, but I can watch, I can see them for a year because you guys are throwing out some blasters and some whizzly whoops.
• 2:51
SPEAKER_01: And and do we charge them too?
• 2:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right?
• 2:54
  SPEAKER_01: No way.
• 2:54
  SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah.
• 2:56
SPEAKER_02: Now this is gonna cause nothing.
• 2:58
SPEAKER_02: It's never, ever, ever, ever going back to a decent place after that.
• 3:03
SPEAKER_01: One time I went to a little Fourth of July shindig at an old coworker's house.
• 3:09
SPEAKER_01: And what they did do, because he did go to one of those fireworks stores where it was like the buy one, get two, or whatever.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_01: And I think this dude, this dude spent at least like six, seven hundred dollars on fireworks.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_01: So he did say, I'm gonna pass a hat if you want to donate.
• 3:24
SPEAKER_02: We did this years ago.
• 3:25
  SPEAKER_01: Go ahead.
• 3:26
SPEAKER_02: So years ago, when I lived in Cleveland, uh-huh, uh and uh used to have a big Fourth of July party, and it was uh the we took the trip to go get uh you know fireworks.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_02: The big booms, the big booms, and we asked, you know, hey, uh you don't have to, but if anybody would like to chip in, because it can get expensive.
• 3:46
SPEAKER_02: I mean, think about this.
• 3:47
SPEAKER_02: If you're having a party and let's say it is a everybody bring a dish to pass, you're still on the line for likely the hot dogs and the hamburgers or whatever you're you know, there's you're you're on the line for something.
• 4:00
SPEAKER_02: Now pile on the fireworks part of it, but you cannot go after the fact and invoice somebody.
• 4:09
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 4:10
  SPEAKER_02: If it was beforehand.
• 4:11
  SPEAKER_01: And 300, that seems that's a lot.
• 4:14
SPEAKER_01: And not that I like the invoice thing at all, because if I got an invoice even for 25, I'd go, what?
• 4:20
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, what is this?
• 4:21
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 4:21
SPEAKER_01: I think that if they would have just said it right then and there and passed the hat, then I I would say, oh yeah, or I'll Venmo you 20 bucks, of course.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_02: I feel it still has to be done before the party.
• 4:30
SPEAKER_02: I feel anytime you're doing an invite, you if you're gonna do this, and I don't really feel that there's something wrong with that.
• 4:36
SPEAKER_02: If you are saying, I'm gonna go get the fireworks, you know, I mean, there are people that could argue that would argue, no, if you're having the party, everything's on you except for the dish to pass.
• 4:47
SPEAKER_02: But if you are in a situation where the people you're around, you can say, I'm gonna go make the trip next Saturday to go get all the fireworks.
• 4:56
SPEAKER_02: Anybody wants to chip something in, Venmo me or drop off, you know, a little bit of cash, you can do it in advance.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_02: There is no way this relationship between these two neighbors is salvageable.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_02: It's forever as long as they live next to each other going to be awkward.
• 5:10
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's equivalent too, because you're you're right.
• 5:12
SPEAKER_01: If you're the one hosting the party, you are the one who's taking the lion's share uh uh of anything financial, because it's always more than that, because you still have plates and you have meats and you have this and that.
• 5:24
  SPEAKER_01: Here's my equivalent.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_01: Did you ever back in the day go take a big booze trip where you were you're how you're hosting a party, yeah, you and neighbor Joe Schmoe, hey, let's go hit up the booze store.
• 5:38
SPEAKER_01: We're gonna get we're gonna get some high noons, we're gonna get some Tito's, and you end up doing and maybe we're gonna do some jungle juice for everybody coming.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_01: That's a that's another time where I would go, hey, could you throw in?
• 5:51
SPEAKER_01: Because we're gonna be having booze there.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_02: Uh a little different on that.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_02: I remember in high school when uh Mark I can't believe I'm telling you when in high school.
• 5:59
  SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
• 5:59
  SPEAKER_02: It was 1987, 88, guys.
• 6:01
SPEAKER_02: All right, it was different life, okay?
• 6:03
  SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
• 6:04
SPEAKER_02: So uh I remember Mark, my friend Mark, and I've mentioned him on the show, always looked way older than he was, and he was the guy that could walk into the quick stop and you know, get walk out with a kegger.
• 6:14
SPEAKER_02: Like everybody had to pitch in for the keg that was had that they were gonna use at the party.
• 6:18
  SPEAKER_02: Sure.
• 6:19
SPEAKER_02: But I think for the other stuff, a lot of times it falls on the host to say, okay, I'm going to have a bottle of A B C D, or your workaround on that is bring what you like to drink.
• 6:32
  SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right.
• 6:33
  SPEAKER_02: That's a big one.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_02: But I know I so I was never a part of the outside of the Kaggara in 87.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_01: No, I think when they're when you're doing something special, especially like fireworks and such, then you can ask for, hey, if you got a five or a ten or a twenty, but three.
• 6:49
SPEAKER_02: But you gotta do it way in advance.
• 6:51
SPEAKER_02: You can't you can't do it, you you can't do it uh five minutes before you light the fuse or five minutes before the party starts and people are showing up already, and you're like, Oh, we gotta go to the liquor store.
• 7:01
SPEAKER_01: The invoice is hey, I just got my credit card bill and whoa, I don't have the money to pay for it.
• 7:07
SPEAKER_01: And it's also going to be horrible to have them as a neighbor from now on.
• 7:11
  SPEAKER_02: Horrible.
