- 0:20Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome to Bless This Messa, the True Cup Podcast.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I don't care here was to say, has to do? All right,
- 0:25Speaker 1: we are back this week and we are going to
- 0:27Speaker 1: Louisiana stud where you're going home right to the old
- 0:32Speaker 1: Marti Grass crawfish, crawfish at Dufe jumbalayah rare beans and.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Rye bezos Uncle T's.
- 0:42Speaker 1: We are going to go to Louisiana. I think we're
- 0:44Speaker 1: going to try October.
- 0:46Speaker 2: That's the plan.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Yeah, October ish time, because you know what I want
- 0:49Speaker 1: to do. Speaking of this case, I would if.
- 0:52Speaker 2: We go the first weekend, we can go to the
- 0:55Speaker 2: German Fest and Roberts Cove.
- 0:58Speaker 1: So I want to go.
- 1:02Speaker 3: German so sad?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Why because we went to Frederick.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Because we've been and we've been to real Germany.
- 1:08Speaker 2: You know, we didn't go to real german Fest, but
- 1:11Speaker 2: it doesn't matter.
- 1:12Speaker 1: We just went to regular Germany and it topped German
- 1:16Speaker 1: Fest in Louisiana. I know it's not bad, but no,
- 1:21Speaker 1: what I was saying is I would like to go down.
- 1:23Speaker 1: We visit your family, and then we go to New
- 1:27Speaker 1: Orleans for a couple of days and do daytime activities
- 1:29Speaker 1: because we've never done that because we never went with
- 1:32Speaker 1: children do daytime activities. There's lots to do in the
- 1:35Speaker 1: New Orleans during the daytime. It's not all just you know,
- 1:40Speaker 1: debauchery at night.
- 1:43Speaker 2: That, yes, and.
- 1:44Speaker 1: We're about to get into that because this crime happened
- 1:46Speaker 1: in good old New Orleans anyway. So we'd like to
- 1:51Speaker 1: think we got a couple of new Patreons. We really
- 1:52Speaker 1: appreciate everybody, my please for my begging. I didn't beg
- 2:00Speaker 1: I just casually mentioned to buy me a coffee. So
- 2:03Speaker 1: we got a couple more coffee. So I really appreciate
- 2:06Speaker 1: everyone who purchased a coffee for me. That was lovely
- 2:10Speaker 1: of you.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I promise.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I wasn't like trying to guilt you guys into it.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You were no.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I was just I was just saying we had that
- 2:17Speaker 1: and it was going strong for a while, and then
- 2:18Speaker 1: everybody kind of forgot about it, and I was.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Like, hey, yeah, forget about it. They just weren't doing
- 2:22Speaker 2: You mentioned it every way.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Well, I can mention it casually. It's casual. Also, if
- 2:28Speaker 1: you were a paid if you're a Patreon, you got
- 2:32Speaker 1: the first episode of Shoot the Poo with Karen Stu.
- 2:36Speaker 1: We Stu named it while we were recording it. We're
- 2:39Speaker 1: trying to go with the name, and we will be
- 2:41Speaker 1: recording another one of those this week and putting it out.
- 2:44Speaker 1: So if you're a Patreon, that's a Patreon only exclusive
- 2:47Speaker 1: because we talk we just kind of shoot the poo
- 2:50Speaker 1: about current true crime things like like this week, we're
- 2:55Speaker 1: going to talk about the Brian Coburger thing is one
- 2:59Speaker 1: of the items that were to talk about. I watched
- 3:01Speaker 1: a terrible documentary called Relentless. We're gonna talk about that.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna rant about that really anyways, and then just
- 3:08Speaker 1: kind of our life updates, we're gonna tell you all
- 3:10Speaker 1: about swim Lessons because it has really gone down the
- 3:12Speaker 1: shitter this week. It's really gone down the shitter.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Well, we only went two weeks or two days.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but that there's a reason why we only went
- 3:21Speaker 1: two days and both days bookend a shit show, like
- 3:24Speaker 1: it was just not good. Both days were bad anyway,
- 3:28Speaker 1: So if you were on the Patreon, we talk about
- 3:30Speaker 1: that kind of fine. For me, yeah, it was fine
- 3:33Speaker 1: because nobody's crime, but I saw some serious situations doing
- 3:36Speaker 1: some serious red flags with their teacher. Anyways, we'll talk
- 3:40Speaker 1: about more about that on the shoot the pool with
- 3:42Speaker 1: Karen's too. So if you like to hear personal updates
- 3:45Speaker 1: and then it's just rambling about true crime, that's where
- 3:48Speaker 1: you go. Is on Patreon and I'll put that out
- 3:51Speaker 1: on Monday. Is the plan right now?
- 3:55Speaker 2: All right?
- 3:55Speaker 1: So speaking of that, we do have the Patreon, Patreon
- 3:59Speaker 1: dot com bus this Mess podcast. You can join for
- 4:02Speaker 1: ad free early access and it's just kind of general
- 4:06Speaker 1: support and now we are doing these weekly like life updates.
- 4:10Speaker 1: We also have buy me at Coffee, which I appreciate
- 4:13Speaker 1: you guys. I can now buy a coffee, although I
- 4:16Speaker 1: did have Stup pick me up a coffee from Starbucks,
- 4:18Speaker 1: and I swear I don't know what happened, but there
- 4:21Speaker 1: is no training at Starbucks anymore. Starbucks used to be
- 4:24Speaker 1: the place you could go get like a custom coffee,
- 4:26Speaker 1: but if you order anything off the menu and like
- 4:28Speaker 1: have it made a certain way, they can't do it anymore.
- 4:31Speaker 1: So I ordered a coffee, had Stow pick it up,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and then I had to get my money back from
- 4:35Speaker 1: the like online chat. It was terrible. I don't know
- 4:40Speaker 1: what they do, but they don't know how to make
- 4:41Speaker 1: anything off the menu that you order custom, right, I
- 4:45Speaker 1: don't know right right, and then I hardly ever go
- 4:49Speaker 1: to Starbucks anymore. I just happened to I was like, really,
- 4:51Speaker 1: craven the coffee that I had from like ten years ago,
- 4:53Speaker 1: and it just isn't there anymore. It's just they can't
- 4:56Speaker 1: make it. And then we have our face this book,
- 5:00Speaker 1: are our Instagram and then the TikTok's really been taken off.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Stew I've been recommending documentaries on there.
- 5:06Speaker 2: How's that working out for you?
- 5:07Speaker 1: It's been going good. I like gain like three hundred
- 5:09Speaker 1: followers over like one post. It was great, really great,
- 5:13Speaker 1: So yeah, go check that out and brought us a
- 5:17Speaker 1: review five stars, only criticizing the comments. That's fine, and
- 5:23Speaker 1: fuck you Alice, all right, So so Nick, go and
- 5:28Speaker 1: defend me against Alice on the Facebook. And I appreciate you.
- 5:31Speaker 1: But she's not gonna see reason. She's she hates us,
- 5:33Speaker 1: and there's nothing we can do about it now. She
- 5:36Speaker 1: doesn't even know. She's a main character now on this
- 5:38Speaker 1: podcast and probably will be for the foreseeable future.
- 5:41Speaker 2: We got a new one, yeah, and we've got some
- 5:43Speaker 2: other one star war reviews.
- 5:44Speaker 1: We can no but we got a bunch of five
- 5:46Speaker 1: star reviews because everybody's trying to bury Alice, and I
- 5:48Speaker 1: really appreciate you guys going back. We got a bunch
- 5:50Speaker 1: of them. I actually went looked at the reviews because
- 5:52Speaker 1: I try not to do that because I'm a little
- 5:54Speaker 1: more sensitive.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I usually sit there and laugh at them.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I know Stu laughs at them, and I take them
- 5:59Speaker 1: like I try not to take them personally. And I
- 6:01Speaker 1: do better now because we've been doing this for so long,
- 6:03Speaker 1: because there's gonna people be people that hate us, specifically
- 6:06Speaker 1: met Oh, that first one star crushed me. I was
- 6:10Speaker 1: at work when Stude told me. I was probably like,
- 6:13Speaker 1: why didn't you tell me about this?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Why are you laughing? It's not funny, It's not funny.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Do they hate us? Anyway? So I have gotten better
- 6:21Speaker 1: about it, but they still I do still take them personally,
- 6:24Speaker 1: so I do not read the reviews unless they're nice.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I read them, still reads.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Them and then comes and tells me about them pretty much.
- 6:34Speaker 1: So and then when it's a one star, I'm.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Like, what did they say?
- 6:37Speaker 1: Wait a minute? And then I like and then I
- 6:39Speaker 1: go into my podcast up and I slowly scroll down
- 6:41Speaker 1: and I like, close one eyes. I'm looking for the
- 6:44Speaker 1: one star, Like do I want to read this anyway,
- 6:47Speaker 1: So we appreciate everybody who's gone and wrote a good
- 6:50Speaker 1: review after Alice the bit jealous, all right, I think
- 6:55Speaker 1: that's Oh. I have something I wanted to say. No, okay,
- 7:02Speaker 1: but it's really really important. It's about these those TikTok
- 7:05Speaker 1: people I told you about. I was going to talk
- 7:08Speaker 1: about it on our little like Shoot the Pooh with
- 7:11Speaker 1: Karen stew But I want more people to hear this.
- 7:14Speaker 1: So this is about Yes, I want to double the
- 7:19Speaker 1: people that hear this. There is this. This is kind
- 7:22Speaker 1: of true crime related, so hang in there if you're
- 7:24Speaker 1: trying to skip ahead, and it's important. There's this couple
- 7:28Speaker 1: called the Gulf Coast Stapletons, and they are on TikTok.
- 7:33Speaker 1: They have been gallivanting around on their boat in Florida
- 7:38Speaker 1: golf shores, Alabama, boat hopping whatever they do. They're like
- 7:43Speaker 1: in their thirties, late thirties, mid to late thirties. Like
- 7:46Speaker 1: the wife's like the you know, the bleach blonde tan
- 7:50Speaker 1: everything that. Then the husband looks like he was a
- 7:53Speaker 1: frat boy or whatever. Anyways, they have been gallivanting all
- 7:57Speaker 1: over TikTok. They've got up like to like eighty five
- 8:00Speaker 1: thousand followers and things like that. Come to find out
- 8:04Speaker 1: this whole entire time, it came to light here in
- 8:08Speaker 1: the last week that the husband of this woman, they're
- 8:12Speaker 1: called Brittany and Joshua Stapleton, the husband was arrested on
- 8:18Speaker 1: forty counts of child of sexual exploitation. Stuart and they
- 8:25Speaker 1: had back in twenty twenty, and they have just been
- 8:27Speaker 1: out there just living their life on TikTok, acting like
- 8:30Speaker 1: there is nothing wrong with these people, that everything's good,
- 8:32Speaker 1: Like I can't even believe that you would have something
- 8:35Speaker 1: like account for that and you would be arrested for that,
- 8:38Speaker 1: and so for some reason, and then just be out
- 8:41Speaker 1: there in the public, putting your face out there and
- 8:43Speaker 1: acting like everything's fine. Anyways, for some reason, it was delayed,
- 8:46Speaker 1: probably COVID, probably whatever. So it's finally come to the
- 8:51Speaker 1: point where he had to either go on trial or
- 8:54Speaker 1: plead guilty. He chose to plead guilty to twenty counts.
- 8:57Speaker 1: He had forty counts, twenty counts of child sexual exploitation,
- 9:02Speaker 1: and he was sentenced to it was supposed to be
- 9:05Speaker 1: twenty years, but he ended up since he did the
- 9:07Speaker 1: plea deal, he was sentenced to five years in prison
- 9:10Speaker 1: and fifteen years probation.
- 9:11Speaker 2: He probably say, got a year for each charge.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he should have fucking been in jail for the
- 9:15Speaker 1: rest of his life. Anyway, So the whole time, the woman,
- 9:19Speaker 1: the wife, is just going on like everything's normal. So
- 9:22Speaker 1: everybody's commenting like your husband's like a terrible human. She
- 9:26Speaker 1: I mean, the devil works hard, but this girl works harder.
- 9:28Speaker 1: She's deleting every comment, blocking every person to try to
- 9:31Speaker 1: keep her comments clean. And so anyway, so all these
- 9:34Speaker 1: because people are trying to expose her to her followers
- 9:36Speaker 1: that this is what's going on, because all of a sudden,
- 9:38Speaker 1: the husband's going to be gone. He just went to jail,
- 9:40Speaker 1: like he like just in the last couple of days.
- 9:43Speaker 1: So anyways, so then she finally, so everybody's making all
- 9:45Speaker 1: these videos on TikTok, like these people are terrible. The
- 9:47Speaker 1: wife had to have known about it. So then she
- 9:49Speaker 1: goes on there and she makes a video today and
- 9:53Speaker 1: she basically doesn't have any excuse for it. She's just like, yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I knew, and if we had friends that had children,
- 9:59Speaker 1: we let them know and blah blah blah. So basically
- 10:02Speaker 1: she knew he had all this stuff, these charges against him,
- 10:05Speaker 1: these pictures of these children, And when I say these
- 10:08Speaker 1: are like pictures of children, these are not just pictures
- 10:10Speaker 1: of children. These are pictures of children and very graphic
- 10:13Speaker 1: images things being done to them, Like these are not
- 10:16Speaker 1: just a picture of a child or anything like that,
- 10:20Speaker 1: really sick things. But the fact that he only got
- 10:24Speaker 1: five years in prison and these people are gallivanting on
- 10:26Speaker 1: TikTok making money off of.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Sounds like they bos need to go to the wood chipper.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yes, And I mean, I just can't even believe she's
- 10:33Speaker 1: just like standing by him. And then people in her
- 10:35Speaker 1: comments like, oh, I'm praying for you. You just stand
- 10:37Speaker 1: by your truth, blah blah blah. There ain't no fucking truth.
- 10:41Speaker 1: The truth is your husband's a pedophile. That's what the
- 10:43Speaker 1: truth is. And you married him anyway. She married him
- 10:45Speaker 1: in twenty twenty three and he was charged in twenty twenty.
- 10:49Speaker 2: So they want her to stand by her pedophile.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Yes, and she's doing it. She's making excuses for him. Well,
- 10:54Speaker 1: she's not even making excuses for him. She's just saying like, basically,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I know and I don't care, is basically yeah, And
- 11:00Speaker 1: she and then she starts crying on the video. I
- 11:02Speaker 1: think she's like, I just lost my best friend today.
- 11:04Speaker 1: It's like, nobody cares about you. You're a terrible human being,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and so is your husband. Anyways, I just wanted to
- 11:12Speaker 1: put that out there because it sounds.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Like our last review that we got that.
- 11:15Speaker 1: We're terribly your husband, oh yeah, anyway, so I just
- 11:19Speaker 1: wanted to put that out there that these people are
- 11:21Speaker 1: out there lurking on TikTok making money off of tiktoks.
- 11:24Speaker 1: They should not even be allowed out there to do this.
- 11:27Speaker 1: And she's just they're just going on. One thing is
- 11:31Speaker 1: why is the Georgia And also, it wasn't like whenever
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'm telling you that it's uh, you know, child exploitation.
- 11:39Speaker 1: These were all all children twelve and under. This was
- 11:42Speaker 1: not like some situation where it's like a seventeen year
- 11:46Speaker 1: old or yeah, it's not something like that. It's in Georgia.
- 11:50Speaker 1: It was pre pubescent, which means twelve and under. So anyway,
- 11:53Speaker 1: so I don't understand why the state of Georgia was
- 11:55Speaker 1: allowing this the guy to just live his life.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Maybe you should have done some more search.
- 12:00Speaker 1: No, nobody knows why. And this guy is also a predator.
- 12:03Speaker 1: He apparently had been putting when he worked at a
- 12:05Speaker 1: tanning salon in two thousand and nine. He was putting
- 12:08Speaker 1: cameras up in the in the rooms. Yes, and then
- 12:12Speaker 1: in college he apparently got caught for being like a
- 12:15Speaker 1: peeping tom. So this is like he's escalated up to
- 12:17Speaker 1: this point and he's just on TikTok and George's just
- 12:20Speaker 1: let him just live his life for five years going
- 12:24Speaker 1: out on boats getting his son tan. The crazy thing
- 12:27Speaker 1: was that she has friends that have children and they
- 12:31Speaker 1: are okay with him being around their children, which is
- 12:34Speaker 1: absolutely insane. I can't even if I found out, like
- 12:38Speaker 1: you need to get the far the fuck away from
- 12:40Speaker 1: me is possible, I will shoot your ass get away
- 12:44Speaker 1: from me anyway. So I just wanted to put that
- 12:46Speaker 1: out there so that everybody knows how terrible these people are.
- 12:50Speaker 1: If you ever come across them, know that they're a
- 12:51Speaker 1: bunch of liars. The wife's a liar, the husband's a pedophile,
- 12:56Speaker 1: and he deserves to be in jail the rest of
- 12:57Speaker 1: his life, and they should not be making money on
- 12:59Speaker 1: TikTok or anywhere else. Well, what's said is their follower
- 13:02Speaker 1: count has gone up by like five thousand since it started,
- 13:05Speaker 1: because people want to like follow the drama, you know,
- 13:07Speaker 1: see what's going on. Yes, I never followed them, but
- 13:10Speaker 1: I do go check it. So I'm contributing to the problem.
- 13:14Speaker 2: You are, Okay, I'm just gonna.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Watch videos that summarize it. So I'm not actually giving
- 13:18Speaker 1: her a knee.
- 13:19Speaker 2: You're gonna watch videos of other people that have followed them.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Well, no, most of the people. She is like working
- 13:25Speaker 1: hard to block anybody that makes any type of video
- 13:28Speaker 1: or comments on her post.
- 13:30Speaker 2: So she's gonna block us why she hears this.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yes, if she did, if she's a fan of the podcast,
- 13:34Speaker 1: which I hope she's not, because we don't want her
- 13:36Speaker 1: kind listening to us. Uh, she will be blocking us anyways.
- 13:41Speaker 1: All right, So that's your public service announcement for today.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Is that a new segment on this Yes Podcas?
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yes, I was saying about doing things because you know,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I love coffee and I love crime. I was thinking
- 13:54Speaker 1: about doing coffee and crime, like where I make my
- 13:56Speaker 1: coffee and we talk about a crime. But that's on
- 13:58Speaker 1: like TikTok or something or Instagram. Oh but we'll see that,
- 14:02Speaker 1: don't involve it.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I don't have to have to be involved with that
- 14:04Speaker 2: bang all right.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Last, okay, so if you were skipping forward, this is
- 14:08Speaker 1: your time to We're gonna pause for one, two three,
- 14:12Speaker 1: Here comes the case, all right. Sean Christopher Johnson was
- 14:16Speaker 1: born December eighteenth, nineteen sixty eight. He lived in Atlanta, Georgia,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and worked in like backstage lighting, putting on events, things
- 14:25Speaker 1: like that. He was described as fun and he just
- 14:29Speaker 1: loved like going out listening to live music things like that.
- 14:32Speaker 1: He just was a good time guy. He drove a
- 14:34Speaker 1: convertible Toyota Celica, which I thought that was an interesting
- 14:37Speaker 1: fact that.
- 14:38Speaker 2: People the sea the car.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Well, this was in two thousand and three that he
- 14:45Speaker 1: was driving this, so I guess it was the car.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Honda had the Prelude back when there was a Selica.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I drove a Honda. That was my first car, was
- 14:53Speaker 1: a nineteen ninety Honda Prelude. It was tiny and zippy. Yeah,
- 14:59Speaker 1: I sold it pretty fast. And then I drove a
- 15:01Speaker 1: Dodge Rampe a rad dollge Ram. Anyway, so he drove
- 15:07Speaker 1: this Toyota Selica. That's kind of something he was known for.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Sean was always up for meeting new friends every went.
- 15:13Speaker 1: He never met a stranger. And in nineteen ninety five
- 15:17Speaker 1: Sean actually had a I guess he met a woman.
- 15:20Speaker 1: They didn't go into much detail about this woman. But
- 15:24Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety five he met a woman. They had
- 15:27Speaker 1: a son named Quinn. The relationship didn't work out, but
- 15:30Speaker 1: Sean was still in Quinn's life and they shared custody.
- 15:34Speaker 1: With Sean's type of work where he is doing the
- 15:37Speaker 1: lighting for events and things like that, and working those
- 15:40Speaker 1: type setting up for things like that, it allowed, you know,
- 15:43Speaker 1: it caused for a lot of travel. Obviously, there's not
- 15:45Speaker 1: going to just be events just in your town. So
- 15:47Speaker 1: he had a lot of travel going on. And one
- 15:49Speaker 1: of those events was for Microsoft, and it brought him
- 15:53Speaker 1: to New Orleans in two thousand and three for a
- 15:55Speaker 1: week long conference. Now Sean was very excited about this
- 15:58Speaker 1: trip and he actually just to stay just a couple
- 16:01Speaker 1: of extra days just to enjoy you know, good old
- 16:04Speaker 1: New Orleans stew as they do, as we have we
- 16:08Speaker 1: have partaken.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yes, you gotta be careful in the Orleans.
- 16:12Speaker 1: You gotta be careful anyway. So he's excited to have
- 16:15Speaker 1: these couple extra days just have some fun go out
- 16:18Speaker 1: on Bourbon Street to drink and.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Have a good time, as we have done.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yes, And I know I've told the story about how
- 16:24Speaker 1: my mom my parents were like super religious and we
- 16:26Speaker 1: got that trip to Orleans and they had no idea
- 16:28Speaker 1: what Bourbon Street was and then we saw them topless mermaids.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it should have may be anything other than complished,
- 16:35Speaker 2: unless it's in a Disney show.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Unless it's an Ariel that our daughter Disney. Yeah, so
- 16:42Speaker 1: this is where Sean finds himself partying up on Bourbon.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Street, single, partying up on Bon Street.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And Stu could tell you some stories about New Orleans.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yes, I could definitely tell you some stories.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Well, you could tell some story before you met me.
- 16:58Speaker 1: We could tell some stories when we were together. But
- 17:01Speaker 1: we will continue on with the case to not anger
- 17:04Speaker 1: people that just want to know what happened.
- 17:07Speaker 2: On July nineteenth, two thousand and three, a house keeper
- 17:11Speaker 2: entered the room of a Courtyard Marriotte in New Orleans, Louisiana.
- 17:16Speaker 1: It was room two O two to be exact.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Two.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yes, I know I wrote that very funky on the page,
- 17:20Speaker 1: that's why you skipped over it. But it was room
- 17:23Speaker 1: two O two.
- 17:24Speaker 2: There she finds a man floating in a jetted tub.
- 17:27Speaker 1: The water was her first crime was the jetted tub.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Let's be honest to whenever they said jetted tub.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Okay, listen, can you imagine a jetted tub in a
- 17:36Speaker 2: hotel room?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yes?
- 17:37Speaker 2: In New Orleans, I was.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I was unwise at one point in my life. And
- 17:41Speaker 1: whenever me and Stu bought our first house to get
- 17:44Speaker 1: to get well, not together, you bought your first house,
- 17:46Speaker 1: and I was just the spicy bitch that came along,
- 17:49Speaker 1: the floozy that came along with you. The one thing
- 17:52Speaker 1: that sold me was like, oh my god's dude, there's
- 17:54Speaker 1: a jetted tub in the bathroom. But as we lived
- 17:57Speaker 1: in that house for ten years and I got the
- 18:00Speaker 1: cleaning stuff for it and everything like that and really
- 18:02Speaker 1: started thinking about it, I will never, ever, ever in
- 18:07Speaker 1: my life ever own a home with a jetted tub. Again.
- 18:10Speaker 1: They are absolutely disgusting. It's not like having a hot
- 18:14Speaker 1: tub out like in your pool, where it's like this
- 18:16Speaker 1: huge circulation of chlorinated water all the time. There's this
- 18:20Speaker 1: stuff you can buy on Amazon that's specifically to clean
- 18:23Speaker 1: the jets in a jetted tub, and the first time
- 18:26Speaker 1: you put it in there the water turns brown. It
- 18:28Speaker 1: is so disgusting because that water just yes, yes, the
- 18:33Speaker 1: water just sits, and the bacteria and everything like that
- 18:36Speaker 1: from people bathing just sits in those pipes in there.
- 18:39Speaker 1: It doesn't it's not moving around like when you're at
- 18:41Speaker 1: a hot tub in a pool like where it's moving
- 18:44Speaker 1: around constantly. It's not like that. And it's open to
- 18:47Speaker 1: the atmosphere where it can those things can die off.
- 18:49Speaker 1: It's just setting and just ooh, it's disgusting. So I
- 18:53Speaker 1: can't even imagine, I mean, no hotels currently this was
- 18:56Speaker 1: two thousand and three. I can't believe. I mean, I'm
- 18:58Speaker 1: sure there are like play like that, maybe in Lost
- 19:01Speaker 1: veags tubs, but I can't imagine currently in New Orleans
- 19:06Speaker 1: any hotel unless it's a CD motel that has.
- 19:10Speaker 3: A jetted the hotel motel.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's probably in the shape of like a heart,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and they probably have like red lighting.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I'm getting excited just thinking about it.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Yes, so that was the first time I was like, oh,
- 19:20Speaker 1: jetted tub. We need to do better people.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Okay, that was the first crime.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Yes, that was the first crime.
- 19:28Speaker 2: The housekeeper finds a man floating in the jetted tub.
- 19:30Speaker 2: The water was red from all the blood. She immediately
- 19:34Speaker 2: leaves the room and calls police, as one might imagine
- 19:39Speaker 2: she would. Police arrive to find a very disturbing scene.
- 19:44Speaker 2: There were pages of the Bible torn out and plastered
- 19:47Speaker 2: all over the walls. So somebody took the hotel Bible
- 19:50Speaker 2: out of the drawer. I guess he wet the pages
- 19:53Speaker 2: and slapped him on the wall. There was a rag
- 19:56Speaker 2: doll lying on the bed, and in the hot tub
- 19:59Speaker 2: there was a man in red stained water.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Yes, very disturbing all around. Just looking at this.
- 20:06Speaker 2: It was clear that he had been beaten and then
- 20:08Speaker 2: left in the bathtub. There was also a broken champagne
- 20:11Speaker 2: bottle around the scene, and autopsy would later rebuild the
- 20:14Speaker 2: man had several fractures to a skull, indicating that he
- 20:17Speaker 2: had been beaten and that the champagne bottle had been
- 20:21Speaker 2: the murder weapon.
- 20:24Speaker 1: One of the murder weapons, one of them.
- 20:26Speaker 2: The actual manner of a death was drowning. Immediately, police
- 20:30Speaker 2: were wondering if there was some type of satanic ritual
- 20:33Speaker 2: happening in this room, and they were able to quickly
- 20:36Speaker 2: identify the man as thirty four year old Shawn Johnson.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I mean we are in New Orleans due we've been
- 20:41Speaker 1: on I mean.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Your memory. You refused to go on to Marie Levo's
- 20:45Speaker 2: voodoo shop with me, yes, he thought. I was like, no,
- 20:47Speaker 2: this is the tourist shop.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I was like, no, stud, you're about to Okay, listen, guys,
- 20:51Speaker 1: I grew up very religious. I mean to the point
- 20:54Speaker 1: where I could tell you some stories about.
- 20:56Speaker 2: My child you already have.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I don't think I've told them all that, No, I don't.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I'm sure I've told him some a casual you know, exorcism,
- 21:05Speaker 1: things like that. It's fine, it's fine. No. I grew
- 21:10Speaker 1: up in a very religious home. So when Stu first
- 21:12Speaker 1: brought me down there, this would have been so when
- 21:14Speaker 1: we first started dating in two thousand and ten, the
- 21:18Speaker 1: birthday present he gave me was a trip or Christmas
- 21:21Speaker 1: present was a trip to New Orleans for New Year's
- 21:25Speaker 1: And so that's whenever you were like, hey, we're going there,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I'm like, I can't go in there, like Stu. I mean,
- 21:29Speaker 1: keep in mind, I grew up in a church where
- 21:31Speaker 1: they told me that Santana's music was yes, that I
- 21:40Speaker 1: can't listen to his music because no, he said, it'll
- 21:44Speaker 1: let the the devil will enter you and stuff like
- 21:46Speaker 1: that if you listen to Santana. So like when I
- 21:48Speaker 1: tell you I grew up in a very extreme religious.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Suation, why would they pick on Santana, I don't understand.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Because I guess at some point he said a quote
- 21:55Speaker 1: like he that listening to his music he had a
- 22:00Speaker 1: a like a ritual orgasm or or something in his soul,
- 22:04Speaker 1: like did something. Anyways, they harped on that shit hardcore
- 22:09Speaker 1: and I remember it to this day. So when Stu
- 22:12Speaker 1: was like, hey, we got to go in this voodoo shop,
- 22:14Speaker 1: I'm like, whoa, whoa back up? Satan, backup?
- 22:18Speaker 2: I was like no. I was just like, hey, you
- 22:19Speaker 2: want to go to Mario Levoz. It's the famous tourist
- 22:22Speaker 2: trap here in New Orleans for voodoo.
- 22:25Speaker 1: You know I do. I don't know if to this
- 22:27Speaker 1: dad want to go in there because I still have
- 22:30Speaker 1: a I don't want to like with ghosts and things
- 22:33Speaker 1: like that, I don't want to say I don't know
- 22:36Speaker 1: if I believe in them. But I don't want to
- 22:37Speaker 1: say I don't believe them because I don't want to
- 22:38Speaker 1: be I don't want to anger them, you know. So
- 22:41Speaker 1: I'm just neutral I'm Switzerland with it all. I don't
- 22:44Speaker 1: want to go in the voodoo shop. I don't want
- 22:46Speaker 1: to touch the Ouiji board. I don't want to do
- 22:47Speaker 1: any because I don't want to like draw anything to
- 22:51Speaker 1: me if it's real. If it's real, it could be real,
- 22:54Speaker 1: and I don't want to be involved. So that was
- 22:57Speaker 1: our But yeah, No Orleans had If you've never been
- 22:59Speaker 1: in New Orleans and don't know much about it, drinking
- 23:02Speaker 1: is one thing.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Get on the get on the forums and find out
- 23:06Speaker 2: from the locals what to do, what not to do.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And what I'm saying is okay, well no, not about
- 23:10Speaker 1: that story. They're not actually going I'm just saying, if
- 23:12Speaker 1: you don't know about New Orleans, it's known for drinking
- 23:15Speaker 1: and partying, but it's also known for its like ghost stories, vampires,
- 23:21Speaker 1: those type of spiritual things, witchcraft, voodoo. It's it's a
- 23:26Speaker 1: place where people that are into that stuff, that's where
- 23:28Speaker 1: they go. And so we've been on ghost tours there.
- 23:30Speaker 1: We went on a ghost tour, remember, oh yeah, we
- 23:34Speaker 1: did go on one.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, the Peace so Bad. I ran down to the
- 23:37Speaker 2: first bar year, the gay bar, the lumberjacket around they're
- 23:44Speaker 2: paying I'm like what the hell there's guys on stage dancing.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, anyway, so yeah, so when we go
- 23:52Speaker 1: in October, though, That's what I was saying is I
- 23:54Speaker 1: would like to go and kind of go see all
- 23:55Speaker 1: the cemeteries. You go to the New Orleans Cemetery, there's
- 23:58Speaker 1: Marie Levau.
- 23:59Speaker 3: All those things.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Going to go to the museum World War Two Museum.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I guess Stuart, you nearly done brought the vibe down,
- 24:07Speaker 1: all right.
- 24:08Speaker 2: You made me miss it last time we were there
- 24:10Speaker 2: because you got so drunk.
- 24:11Speaker 1: So shut up, Stew. Don't even get me started on
- 24:13Speaker 1: the last time we were there and someone got so
- 24:15Speaker 1: drunk someone had to go retrieve someone's phone. We'll tell
- 24:20Speaker 1: the story in a minute, Okay, we'll sell it for
- 24:22Speaker 1: later on, for when people are still aroummed, if they
- 24:26Speaker 1: haven't got agitated by our side story. Okay. So police
- 24:30Speaker 1: are starting to look at this crime scene. They are
- 24:33Speaker 1: concerned that there is some sort of like Stew said,
- 24:35Speaker 1: a like a cult or witchcraft or satanic angle. The
- 24:39Speaker 1: doll that was on the bed, police were told. They
- 24:42Speaker 1: started asking around about and police were told it was
- 24:44Speaker 1: something called.
- 24:44Speaker 2: A familiar I'm not familiar with that.
- 24:47Speaker 1: No, so let me. I looked it up, guys, because
- 24:49Speaker 1: I wasn't either. So in even though I did buy
- 24:52Speaker 1: a broom to build in Salem, that's.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Bringing the devil in the ghost into our house now, which.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I am going to build. It's been two years. I
- 24:59Speaker 1: need to builded in this October. I'm gonna do thatm
- 25:03Speaker 1: I bought all the parts you can go in and
- 25:04Speaker 1: like build a broom and stuff like that. That's hocus
- 25:07Speaker 1: pocus toward. That's so like New Orleans is sinister. Salem
- 25:10Speaker 1: is like fun.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Okay, they killed people there.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Well, you know it is what it is, all right.
- 25:17Speaker 1: So in witchcraft, a familiar is as small animal or
- 25:20Speaker 1: imp kept as a witch's attendant, given to her by
- 25:24Speaker 1: the devil, or inherited from another witch. The familiar was
- 25:28Speaker 1: a low ranking demon that assumed any animal shape, such
- 25:31Speaker 1: as a toad, dog, insect, or black cat. Sometimes the
- 25:35Speaker 1: familiar was described as a grotesque creature of fantasy, an
- 25:40Speaker 1: analgam of several creatures. It would subsist on sucking blood
- 25:44Speaker 1: from the witch's tit no, I'm sorry, the witch's finger.
- 25:49Speaker 1: The doll that okay, So the doll that police described
- 25:52Speaker 1: had real human hair that was in braids. It also
- 25:55Speaker 1: had a pentagram on the front. And so when I
- 25:58Speaker 1: was looking this up those two I didn't feel like
- 26:00Speaker 1: it was a familiar. When I read that definition, I'm like,
- 26:03Speaker 1: these dumbasses got this all wrong. I felt it was
- 26:06Speaker 1: more described as like, maybe like what I found.
- 26:10Speaker 3: It was a puppet Scalo puppet now.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Means Stu had an argument about this. He says that
- 26:17Speaker 1: in Lord of the or Not Lord of the Rings,
- 26:20Speaker 1: Orlando blooms and bo so calm down. In Pirates of Caribbean,
- 26:25Speaker 1: that one sailor calls, uh, the girl that's been stolen
- 26:29Speaker 1: Kiara Knightley. He Stu thinks he and I remember this
- 26:33Speaker 1: to it. He says, hello, puppet, But I think he's
- 26:36Speaker 1: saying puppet. Stu thinks he's saying, I don't know. Why
- 26:39Speaker 1: would he call her a.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Puppet because he's gonna stick his hand up her ass
- 26:42Speaker 2: and work her mound.
- 26:43Speaker 1: No, but why would he call her a puppet? Because
- 26:45Speaker 1: let me explain what a poppet is. A poppet is
- 26:48Speaker 1: a small doll like representation of a person used in
- 26:52Speaker 1: sympathetic magic to influence the person. Now, the it's made
- 26:59Speaker 1: to report to look like an individual. They would say
- 27:03Speaker 1: the poppeit was the influence for the voodoo doll later on.
- 27:07Speaker 1: You know, So first we had the poppet and witchcraft,
- 27:10Speaker 1: and then they took over with the voodoo doll, which
- 27:11Speaker 1: most of us know. It's like they're sticking pins and
- 27:13Speaker 1: things to like hurt people and stuff like that. Anyway,
- 27:17Speaker 1: so I looked that up and I felt like it
- 27:20Speaker 1: was more of a poppet. And if you are wondering
- 27:22Speaker 1: what sympathetic magic is, those are the magics that are
- 27:27Speaker 1: believed to like do actions on a person, similar to
- 27:31Speaker 1: like a voodoo doll. So they would do they would
- 27:34Speaker 1: do something to that and that person would feel it. Anyways,
- 27:37Speaker 1: So in case anybody is wondering, is anybody wondering.
- 27:42Speaker 2: She's just making words up.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah. So anyways, so I feel like it was more
- 27:46Speaker 1: than a like a poppet and rather than a familiar
- 27:50Speaker 1: So on top of this murder, they now have this
- 27:52Speaker 1: crazy possible motive which is witchcraft, satanism, occultism, something. They
- 27:58Speaker 1: got to figure it out because this crime scene is gross, gross,
- 28:02Speaker 1: insane task there's a fucking jetted tub involved. I mean,
- 28:08Speaker 1: things are bad, Okay, things are real rough up in
- 28:11Speaker 1: New Orleans right now.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Hair and skin from god knows how many.
- 28:17Speaker 1: All I'm thinking about is skin slippage. Oh, Caleb, that
- 28:22Speaker 1: has nothing to do with this case. But another case
- 28:24Speaker 1: that we're going to cover next week involves the words
- 28:27Speaker 1: skin slippage. Anyways, all right.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Police process this crime, saying Kara, but they can't find
- 28:34Speaker 2: any evidence to point them in the right direction. There's
- 28:37Speaker 2: no fingerprints or anything that like that. So they must
- 28:42Speaker 2: now rely on the hotel surveillance to try to find
- 28:45Speaker 2: out who did this to Sean.
- 28:46Speaker 1: It's hard because his body was in the tub. And
- 28:49Speaker 1: then they're also in a hotel room, so obviously there's
- 28:52Speaker 1: gonna be fingerprints from all sorts of people coming in there.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Like any They don't scrub them hotel rooms down. If
- 29:00Speaker 1: they came into one of our hotel rooms, they know
- 29:02Speaker 1: we wipe everything down that touches fingerprints with Clorox wipes.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah. The people at the damn Airbnb's and they start cleaning.
- 29:11Speaker 1: They need to start cleaning their stuff better, because I'm
- 29:13Speaker 1: having to start bringing cleaning kits to just clean up
- 29:15Speaker 1: the places.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Everywhere we go. Yeah, and then charge them for our cleaning.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Yes, and be like I'm charging you for cleaning fee.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Ye that I found under your.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Why was there a Philadelphia cream.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Under the couch with all this desktop?
- 29:29Speaker 1: We'll never get over that one.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Now. It was the container, I thought, or was it
- 29:33Speaker 2: just the lid.
- 29:34Speaker 1: It was just the lid.
- 29:35Speaker 2: It was still gross.
- 29:36Speaker 1: It's still gross.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Police also talk to the neighbors of the of Shawn's room.
- 29:45Speaker 2: I'm where to call them.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Neighbors, but the nearby rooms. Basically the nearby occupants of
- 29:51Speaker 1: the nearby rooms.
- 29:53Speaker 2: One of them recalls harrying a loud bang and then
- 29:55Speaker 2: a man saying, I am God and you are my servant.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I mean just a casual note in New Orleans though,
- 30:01Speaker 1: releas dude.
- 30:02Speaker 2: I mean, well, just about any where you go in
- 30:04Speaker 2: the French Court, you're gonna find it.
- 30:05Speaker 1: You're gonna find some something going on.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Yeah, there's gonna be a guy with a preaching to
- 30:09Speaker 2: you with a big old billboard.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Or there's gonna be a guy with a chain around
- 30:13Speaker 1: his neck dragging his girlfriend behind him, you know.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Boyfriend, Ord's boyfriend.
- 30:17Speaker 1: It's just gonna happen.
- 30:19Speaker 2: They were able to get survey aillance video from the hotel,
- 30:22Speaker 2: and this is where they spine. Sean. He's walking with
- 30:25Speaker 2: his killers. At approximately five thirty am, you see Sean
- 30:29Speaker 2: entering the hotel and walking down the hall. He's with
- 30:32Speaker 2: four other people. And when you look at these people,
- 30:34Speaker 2: you can clearly tell that they are of a different lifestyle.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Let's very different lifestyle.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Sean has his button down shirt, not like the other
- 30:44Speaker 2: Sean has his button down shirt and his jeans.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I thought it was very shady because the bitch in
- 30:48Speaker 1: the show, the narrator show, she's like, oh, he had
- 30:51Speaker 1: his button down shirt and his wrinkled jeans. Like, seriously, lady,
- 30:55Speaker 1: that's just rude, right, why would you say he has
- 30:58Speaker 1: a wrinkled jeans? I didn't find they were very He
- 31:00Speaker 1: was dressed in normal clothes, like normal everyday people clothing.
- 31:05Speaker 2: And the other four people look like it looked like
- 31:07Speaker 2: they had just robbed a hot topic. They look like.
- 31:11Speaker 1: They looked like they were the dominant in the relationship.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Looked like they were hot topic model.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Yes, hot topic models.
- 31:20Speaker 2: They're dressed from head to toe in black gothic style
- 31:23Speaker 2: clothing or hot topic clothing? Am I throwing too much
- 31:28Speaker 2: shade at hot topic?
- 31:30Speaker 1: Is hot topic still a thing?
- 31:32Speaker 2: I don't know?
- 31:33Speaker 1: I don't. I haven't been to a mall in Oh.
- 31:36Speaker 1: We've been to a mall because that's where the eye places.
- 31:41Speaker 1: The only reason we've been to the mall is because
- 31:43Speaker 1: your eye doctor is the lens crafter is in the mall.
- 31:46Speaker 2: It's vision Works.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Vision Works is in the mall. It's keeping that place
- 31:50Speaker 1: of float.
- 31:51Speaker 2: But I didn't walk down the other area to see
- 31:54Speaker 2: if there was a hot topic. No, or Spencer's. I
- 31:56Speaker 2: did used to enjoy, Yeah.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Spencer's gifts hot topic, Yes, get the farts braying. I
- 32:01Speaker 1: was not allowed to go in that story.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Anyway. The four goth people to her male two or female.
- 32:09Speaker 2: The female at the front has bright blonde hair, and
- 32:13Speaker 2: she sticks out a little more than the others.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Yeah, because the rest of them have the dark lips,
- 32:16Speaker 1: like the dark hair, dark lipstick, dark fingernails. And then
- 32:20Speaker 1: she's walking in with this bright bleach blonde hair.
- 32:24Speaker 2: She's holding hands with the male at the front that
- 32:26Speaker 2: is walking next to her. She is also holding the
- 32:29Speaker 2: doll that they found in the room.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Just skipping along, just very creepy.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Yep. Sean is walking in front of the group and
- 32:37Speaker 2: they're all smiling. I wonder what they're smiling about. I
- 32:41Speaker 2: mean Sean, come.
- 32:42Speaker 1: On, Sean was smiling too.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I know Sean was smiling.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Good is happening unless you're just waking up because you
- 32:51Speaker 1: went to bed at nine pm and you're going to
- 32:52Speaker 1: get a coffee at Cafe Dumont.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Like or getting some breakfast or something. They all look
- 32:58Speaker 2: like they're having a good time. While this group was dressed. Definitely,
- 33:01Speaker 2: it was not unheard of to have goth style people
- 33:04Speaker 2: in New Orleans.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Yes, it was a big gothic community.
- 33:06Speaker 2: There, Yes, with all the band I mean that's where
- 33:09Speaker 2: Anne Rice lived and wrote the vampire books.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's common there. I mean, you're gonna walk
- 33:15Speaker 1: down the street. It's not abnormal to see someone dressed all.
- 33:17Speaker 2: In black and live in that vampire life, live in.
- 33:20Speaker 1: That vampire lifestyles too. Sucking the finger of a witch
- 33:27Speaker 1: or hear too.
- 33:29Speaker 2: You know what.
- 33:29Speaker 1: One of my favorite shows though, is American Horse Story
- 33:32Speaker 1: Coven New Orleans. Yep, the one where they're the witches
- 33:35Speaker 1: and there in New Orleans. That's a good one. I did.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I kind of lost track when they got Lady Gaga involved.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I didn't watch that one.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Didn't watch that one.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I didn't really watch Freak Show either, but I did
- 33:44Speaker 1: enjoy That was my definitely my favorite one because I
- 33:47Speaker 1: like all that stuff, like from a distance, though I
- 33:50Speaker 1: don't want to be haunted.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I lived.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 33:53Speaker 2: As they continue to watch the footage, they find that
- 33:55Speaker 2: the dark headed woman leaves about forty five minutes later,
- 33:58Speaker 2: so this is around six to fifteen, and an hour
- 34:02Speaker 2: after that, the other three leave the hotel. Despite having
- 34:05Speaker 2: the video of the perpetrators, police are at a dead
- 34:09Speaker 2: end because they don't know who the names of these
- 34:10Speaker 2: people are and they don't have any other evidence to
- 34:13Speaker 2: go on at the crime scene. They get their first
- 34:16Speaker 2: break about twenty four hours after the murder occurred, and
- 34:20Speaker 2: the woman that left at six point fifteen, the.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Dark headed lady, notf the blonde lane.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Yes, the dark haired one. She comes into the police
- 34:27Speaker 2: station to talk to police. She says her name is
- 34:30Speaker 2: Cat and that she and the others met Sean at
- 34:33Speaker 2: a bar called the Dungeon. The Dungeon, yes, I have
- 34:37Speaker 2: been to.
- 34:37Speaker 1: The says he's been to the Dungeon, But then I
- 34:39Speaker 1: started questioning him.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Why why you question me?
- 34:42Speaker 1: They okay, because they say that the Dungeon is it
- 34:45Speaker 1: opens at midnight and it's open to the wee hours
- 34:48Speaker 1: of the morning, so it's not your common bar. You're
- 34:51Speaker 1: going to go, you know, get one of them green
- 34:54Speaker 1: drinks at the grenades, and yeah, if you've never been
- 34:58Speaker 1: in New Orleans, do not drink the grenade. To get one,
- 35:00Speaker 1: the glow in the dark grenade, you have to do
- 35:02Speaker 1: it one time, and you gotta go get a hurricane.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Don't get you well, get drunk, and if you get drunk,
- 35:06Speaker 1: you will throw it up.
- 35:07Speaker 2: But don't get drunk on them.
- 35:09Speaker 1: No, have one, Have one and move on with your drink.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Half of it, throw the other half out, and.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Then you're gonna go to get You're gonna go to
- 35:14Speaker 1: get a hurricane at Pat O'Brien's piano bar. You're gonna
- 35:17Speaker 1: go do that. You're gonna get the grenade. You're gonna
- 35:20Speaker 1: get questionable shots from some guys standing on a corner,
- 35:23Speaker 1: Like remember when we did them shots some little like
- 35:27Speaker 1: they look like test.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Tubes from a guy on a corner.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Yeah, they were standing out on the corner.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Now, yes, no, yes, unless they were standing outside the bar.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Well, they were standing outside of a bar. There's people, No,
- 35:39Speaker 1: there's people standing outside of bars. With like shots and
- 35:42Speaker 1: things like that. You're gonna do all that. You're probably
- 35:44Speaker 1: gonna go into possibly a strip club or even worse,
- 35:49Speaker 1: a sex club, which that was a mistake, and you're
- 35:54Speaker 1: gonna exit quickly. You're gonna be like, why is everything
- 35:58Speaker 1: so sticky?
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Anyway, So, uh, what was I saying?
- 36:07Speaker 2: You're talking about a sex club? I mean, I think
- 36:08Speaker 2: you ought to explain it.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Why would I explain it, Stuart.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Because people are gonna think you went into a club
- 36:13Speaker 2: where people have sex with each other.
- 36:15Speaker 1: People were having sex on the stage. Yes, okay, we
- 36:18Speaker 1: weren't having sex.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm trying to.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Oh my god, think all my moms did.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, I can't believe you just said that.
- 36:26Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I find humor in the darkness. Okay, Stuart, No,
- 36:32Speaker 1: I'm saying, thank thank god, she's not hearing this. Anyways. No,
- 36:34Speaker 1: we did go into a We were very drunk. We
- 36:38Speaker 1: had gone into a strip club. We also went into
- 36:41Speaker 1: one of the sex clubs, and they are in New Orleans.
- 36:44Speaker 1: They actually have clubs where you could the people are
- 36:46Speaker 1: having sex on stage, like in front of you, which
- 36:50Speaker 1: was also a theme in the book. I just read.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Oh, you never did read that trigger.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I never read that trigger warning on the thing. Anyways,
- 36:58Speaker 1: let's move on from it. It was a very very
- 37:00Speaker 1: brief moment in time. I was young, I was dumb,
- 37:02Speaker 1: I was drunk. Dude doesn't have any of those excuses.
- 37:05Speaker 1: But uh, we went in and I quickly was like,
- 37:09Speaker 1: this is not for me. I feel very creepy in here.
- 37:12Speaker 1: This is disgusting.
- 37:14Speaker 3: It was great.
- 37:14Speaker 2: After like thirty or forty minutes, She's like, we have
- 37:16Speaker 2: to leave.
- 37:16Speaker 1: No, I was like, we got to get out of here.
- 37:19Speaker 1: This is not for me anyway. So those types of
- 37:22Speaker 1: things are happening. So the dungeon was more of a goth.
- 37:25Speaker 2: So why are you questioning whether I.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Was in this blog because you said because it's they
- 37:30Speaker 1: said it's gothic, Like theyre are goth people in there.
- 37:32Speaker 1: You're not goth. Stewart unless goth girl, It's not just goth. Okay,
- 37:38Speaker 1: well that's what they said on the TV show.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Back when I was there. It was thirty plus years ago.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Oh Jesus, come and tell us the story.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Grandpa, and I did have my leather jacket because we
- 37:49Speaker 2: were listening to the like Slayer and.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Oh, so you work goth and Metallica.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Seriously, you think, yeah, anytime I put Slayer on, You're like, Nope,
- 37:57Speaker 2: that's devil.
- 37:58Speaker 1: No, that's the devil. The devil is try to enter
- 38:00Speaker 1: this home right now, we need to no goth is right.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I'm so sad because they sold out of my clothes
- 38:07Speaker 2: at hot topic.
- 38:08Speaker 1: That's not even true. Yeah, all right, we done drifted off.
- 38:13Speaker 1: But anyways, the DA even described the Dungeon as she said,
- 38:18Speaker 1: it's dark, stinky, and nasty, and she said it like
- 38:20Speaker 1: that with her little head tilt. And like we said,
- 38:25Speaker 1: it's a late night bar. It opens at midnight, and
- 38:28Speaker 1: they got.
- 38:29Speaker 2: In there at midnight, probably drank a bear or two
- 38:31Speaker 2: and then left. Okay, I don't even remember hardly being
- 38:34Speaker 2: in there, but I know I've been there, all right.
- 38:35Speaker 1: So anyways, this is the go to place for goth people,
- 38:39Speaker 1: and that if you would want to go late at night.
- 38:42Speaker 1: So Sean would have stuck out like a sort thumb
- 38:44Speaker 1: with his white button down in his normal clothing. So
- 38:49Speaker 1: he is in, you know, this club, and he runs
- 38:53Speaker 1: into this group of people and they decide to continue
- 38:57Speaker 1: the night together. They asked Cat about the identity of
- 39:01Speaker 1: the other people and that were there with her, and
- 39:04Speaker 1: she said that the girl's name was Never. Really, yes,
- 39:09Speaker 1: the girl's name was Never, but that was her street
- 39:11Speaker 1: names do she didn't know her real name at all.
- 39:14Speaker 1: And the guy's name was Worry, the one that she
- 39:17Speaker 1: was boyfriends with, and that was his street name is
- 39:21Speaker 1: Wet as well, so their nickname was Never Worry.
- 39:25Speaker 2: That way.
- 39:27Speaker 1: The goths, they have their street names. And she said
- 39:31Speaker 1: she knew the other guy as Ben, and that's about
- 39:33Speaker 1: all she knew about him. She doesn't know if that's
- 39:36Speaker 1: his real name or that's just what he went by.
- 39:39Speaker 1: She was able to tell police that Never was actually
- 39:41Speaker 1: wearing a blonde wig and that wasn't her real hair.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Kat tells police that Sean was buying drink after drink
- 39:47Speaker 1: for them, and whenever the bar was actually closing, he
- 39:51Speaker 1: invited them back to his hotel room. Kat said she
- 39:55Speaker 1: really didn't want to go with him, but Never said,
- 39:57Speaker 1: like it is basically saying nope, you're in this group,
- 40:00Speaker 1: now you're coming with us, And so she kind of
- 40:03Speaker 1: drags her down the street and Cat said I could have, like,
- 40:06Speaker 1: you know, I could have gotten away from her because
- 40:08Speaker 1: I'm bigger than her. But basically I didn't feel like
- 40:11Speaker 1: I had a choice. It sounded like there were young kids.
- 40:13Speaker 3: And they had like pierce pressure pressure. Yes.
- 40:16Speaker 1: My favorite part of Kat's interview with police was that
- 40:19Speaker 1: she's she had told Never, I don't want to go
- 40:22Speaker 1: with you. I want to stay out here with Weasel
- 40:24Speaker 1: and C and some other street kids. I hang out
- 40:29Speaker 1: weaseling cue.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Come on, was that the weasel with one eye? No?
- 40:36Speaker 1: Anyways, Never tells her that they're going to have a
- 40:39Speaker 1: champagne bath, and that's when Kat's you know, she's just
- 40:43Speaker 1: saying she just felt like she was pressured to go
- 40:45Speaker 1: with them. But she did tell she did tell uh
- 40:49Speaker 1: Never she did not want to partake in an idea
- 40:51Speaker 1: of the merriments, which I don't know what that means.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Kat said, Shit, she was not drunk that night. She'd
- 40:58Speaker 1: only had one drink, but No and Worry were highly intoxicated,
- 41:03Speaker 1: and Ben had had a few drinks, but he was
- 41:04Speaker 1: not on the level of Never.
- 41:08Speaker 2: And Worry with the merriments.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Yes, is that what they mean? Merriments?
- 41:13Speaker 2: I don't know. I guess drugs possibly maybe the drugs.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I mean there had to be drugs.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Involved, do you think?
- 41:19Speaker 1: Yeah? So Kat said that she was in this hotel
- 41:23Speaker 1: room with them, and she quickly became uncomfortable after Sean
- 41:26Speaker 1: began undressing and he got into the hot tub. Well,
- 41:31Speaker 1: she was just wanting She just wasn't wanting any part
- 41:34Speaker 1: of this or anything like that, and so she lies
- 41:37Speaker 1: to them, basically comes up with an excuse, says, I'm
- 41:39Speaker 1: gonna be in big trouble if i don't leave. Its
- 41:41Speaker 1: freaking six fifteen in the morning.
- 41:43Speaker 2: My mom is going to be so mad if I'm
- 41:45Speaker 2: not home by seven thirty.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Yeah, So she said she had to get out of there.
- 41:48Speaker 1: So she makes an excuse and she bolts out. That's
- 41:51Speaker 1: why we see her leave at around six fifteen. As
- 41:54Speaker 1: Kat is leaving, we or never says, you're gonna mess
- 41:58Speaker 1: out on the fun Ket's just like what, I don't
- 42:00Speaker 1: give a fuck, peace out. So she describes exactly how
- 42:03Speaker 1: she left, saying she got in the second elevator, she
- 42:06Speaker 1: went down into the lobby, she saw this, she went right,
- 42:08Speaker 1: she went left, she went here, she went there, down
- 42:10Speaker 1: to the littlest detail. So it was clear to police
- 42:13Speaker 1: that she was not overly intox kid because she remembered
- 42:16Speaker 1: and they could match it up with the camp the video, Citty,
- 42:21Speaker 1: she told them exactly what she did, and she was
- 42:23Speaker 1: well aware of this whole entire everything she did after
- 42:27Speaker 1: she left that hotel room, so they believe she was
- 42:30Speaker 1: telling the truth about this. And she also did not
- 42:33Speaker 1: leave with the rest of the group. So now police
- 42:35Speaker 1: are back to pretty much square one because they have
- 42:39Speaker 1: Cat but they don't believe she had anything to do
- 42:40Speaker 1: with the actual killing. So now that they've got to
- 42:43Speaker 1: define the identity of these other three people when they
- 42:46Speaker 1: have possibly a real name, definitely two of them with
- 42:50Speaker 1: street names, who are these people?
- 42:53Speaker 2: Six days after Shawn's murder, in the town of Bradenton, Florida,
- 42:58Speaker 2: a woman comes into the hospital claiming that she had
- 43:00Speaker 2: been sexually assaulted and that her boyfriend had been kidnapped.
- 43:04Speaker 2: That her and her boyfriend had been kidnapped by a
- 43:06Speaker 2: large white male and brought here to Bradenton, Florida.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Brighton, Florida looked very beautiful on the surface footage. No,
- 43:16Speaker 1: I'm just saying, like what they were showing. I don't
- 43:18Speaker 1: know if anybody lives there, but I don't know what.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I didn't look up what part of Florida it is in. Oh,
- 43:24Speaker 1: I think it's down it's by Tampa. I think it's
- 43:27Speaker 1: down by Tampa.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I think they said north of Tampa.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Well, she tells them that they had escaped. A detective
- 43:34Speaker 2: is called to the woman's hospital room to investigate her story,
- 43:37Speaker 2: and she says that she was able to escape, but
- 43:40Speaker 2: that her boyfriend was not so lucky. She said she
- 43:44Speaker 2: was running away. When she turned around to see if
- 43:47Speaker 2: her boyfriend was behind her, she said she heard gunshots Kara,
- 43:51Speaker 2: oh God, and then she sees her boyfriend lying on
- 43:54Speaker 2: the ground. She was able to flag down a ride
- 43:57Speaker 2: to the hospital, and that's how she ended up here.
- 44:02Speaker 2: According to her story, Yes, she was given a victim's
- 44:07Speaker 2: advocate just to help with her story and help support
- 44:09Speaker 2: her during this time. She told the detective their name
- 44:12Speaker 2: was Carla Frye.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Her name was Carla fry That's what I meant. You
- 44:17Speaker 1: said their name? Her name is Carla Frye. Yes.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Yes. As they do the examination on her, they find
- 44:25Speaker 2: that she has no evidence of sexual assault and her
- 44:27Speaker 2: story was very fantastical as one might imagine. She's raped,
- 44:31Speaker 2: she's kidnapped.
- 44:32Speaker 1: She does this escape, she flags in a car, her
- 44:36Speaker 1: boyfriend is shot, all these things. It's not that he
- 44:39Speaker 1: didn't necessarily.
- 44:40Speaker 2: It's a whole nother podcast we have.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, this is like a whole other case. So
- 44:43Speaker 1: it's not that the detective didn't initially, it's just that
- 44:46Speaker 1: things he's done, he works specifically in these types of
- 44:49Speaker 1: crimes against people, and things were just seemed a little
- 44:53Speaker 1: bit too extra.
- 44:55Speaker 2: For him, a little.
- 44:57Speaker 1: The guaca is extra, and so is she, you know.
- 44:59Speaker 2: The The detective does confront her about this fact and
- 45:03Speaker 2: that there is no evidence of sexual assault, and she
- 45:06Speaker 2: quickly retracks her story and tells them that she actually
- 45:09Speaker 2: just had a UTI, So she made up the story
- 45:12Speaker 2: so that she could get some medical assistance.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Which again doesn't make sense because you can just go
- 45:17Speaker 1: into any hospital and get treated and they can't turn
- 45:19Speaker 1: you away, Like, yeah, if it's an emergency, yes they
- 45:22Speaker 1: got to treat you. So whatever you say, they're going
- 45:24Speaker 1: to go in and help you.
- 45:26Speaker 3: It doesn't matter whether you can pay her or not.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Yeah, they might bill you if you can't pay. It
- 45:30Speaker 1: just goes into thin air.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Well, Carla is Carla is Carla. As we will find out,
- 45:38Speaker 2: Carla is Carla. Detective is still confused as to why
- 45:42Speaker 2: there is an elaborate story to get a UTI, so
- 45:46Speaker 2: he asked UTI treatment. So he asked her to tell
- 45:49Speaker 2: the story again. She goes back to the beginning and
- 45:52Speaker 2: she tells a story that she's kidnapped, and she says
- 45:55Speaker 2: she was kidnapped because.
- 45:56Speaker 1: She keeps going, let me just be clear, because this
- 45:59Speaker 1: is confusing. She she said that the whole story. Then
- 46:02Speaker 1: she said she had a UTI, and then he said, well,
- 46:04Speaker 1: can you just talk me through this again? So then
- 46:05Speaker 1: she goes back to the story where she was kidnapped,
- 46:08Speaker 1: like she's just bouncing around.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, Well, in the news story, the third or
- 46:14Speaker 2: fourth version, she says she's kidnapped because she witnessed a
- 46:17Speaker 2: homicide and sit inside a hotel room at a Marriotte
- 46:20Speaker 2: Courtyard in New Orleans. They asked her what her boyfriend's
- 46:24Speaker 2: name was, and she said that she didn't know what
- 46:26Speaker 2: his name was because he went by the street name
- 46:29Speaker 2: of Worry, and she told him that her street name
- 46:33Speaker 2: was never so together as we told you, they were worried.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Okay, so you're never worried. She's like, yeah, that's exactly
- 46:41Speaker 1: it got cool, you get it.
- 46:47Speaker 3: These people are oh, Carla, Carla, Carla, Carla.
- 46:50Speaker 1: She had and she has such a terrible name, Carla Fry.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I mean, it's so uncool, no wonder she went by, never.
- 46:59Speaker 3: What's wrong with Carla Carla Fry?
- 47:01Speaker 1: Stuw what Carla Fry.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Like curly Fry? Yes, from Jack in.
- 47:08Speaker 5: The Box, which are excellent, by the way, very expensive,
- 47:12Speaker 5: but excellent, Carla Fry. Yes, we we we've got we
- 47:16Speaker 5: got Jack in the Box for the We got jacked
- 47:20Speaker 5: at Jackmine. Okay, we don't normally eat out that much,
- 47:22Speaker 5: but I have been working overtime for the last month
- 47:26Speaker 5: due to a work deadline anyway, so we've been eating
- 47:30Speaker 5: out a lot more, and so we I was like, Stu,
- 47:32Speaker 5: just grab, just grab something. He's like, oh, there's a
- 47:34Speaker 5: Jack in the Box across tray.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, that's great. Curly I've had a Curly
- 47:38Speaker 1: Fry and I can't remember, so he gets it. It
- 47:42Speaker 1: was forty four dollars, people, forty four dollars. That's insane
- 47:46Speaker 1: for two We didn't even get three kids meals. We
- 47:49Speaker 1: make them little brats, split two kids meals between the
- 47:52Speaker 1: three of them because the two don't hardly eat. The
- 47:54Speaker 1: baby basically eats all their food anyway, So it is
- 47:58Speaker 1: forty four dollars for me and stew to have a meal,
- 48:00Speaker 1: to get them a kid's melt, and then we got
- 48:01Speaker 1: an extra fry because the kids do love the.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Fries as do what didn't even get a damn kid's
- 48:06Speaker 2: meal toy.
- 48:06Speaker 1: No, they don't even come with the kid's mal toy
- 48:08Speaker 1: Like it was insane. So that was our once once
- 48:11Speaker 1: every five year Jack in the Box visit. We will
- 48:14Speaker 1: not be doing that again.
- 48:15Speaker 2: No, No, little something you want to advertise with us
- 48:18Speaker 2: Jack in the.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Box, Little Caesars is where it's at. I feel like
- 48:22Speaker 1: Jack in the Box needs to advertise though, because I
- 48:23Speaker 1: do not see them around that often. They're very few
- 48:26Speaker 1: and far between. You know, there's none in Lafayette. No,
- 48:32Speaker 1: there's only one here. Yes, so, and this is a
- 48:36Speaker 1: fast food like.
- 48:38Speaker 2: You know, well trash everywhere.
- 48:40Speaker 1: You can just really thrive in this environment. So anyways, yeah,
- 48:47Speaker 1: so we little Caesar's where it is. Where it's at though,
- 48:50Speaker 1: because you can eat lunch and dinner for like twenty bucks.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Well, as soon as they open us goddamn Roadies, I
- 48:56Speaker 2: can go down and get a hind so.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Excited about the Rudies opening up, which that's an expensive
- 49:01Speaker 1: endeavor as well.
- 49:01Speaker 2: It isies a couple of times here lately.
- 49:06Speaker 1: I know I can't get on board with Dickies. I'd
- 49:09Speaker 1: rather have the ch B Barbie. What are you laughing about?
- 49:12Speaker 2: You can't get on board with Dickies.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Why are you going to turn everything into something? Okay,
- 49:17Speaker 1: we got to get back on track because this is
- 49:18Speaker 1: already the longest episode ever.
- 49:20Speaker 2: You're the one. We'll turn Carla Fryan to Curly Prize
- 49:22Speaker 2: to tell a story about Jack in the box. I
- 49:25Speaker 2: don't know why you're blaming me for this shit. The
- 49:28Speaker 2: detective has a patrol offer, so send a message out
- 49:31Speaker 2: to the New Orleans PD to see if this is
- 49:33Speaker 2: a true story about a homicide in the courtyard Marriot.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Oh, come on, a homicide New Orleans.
- 49:38Speaker 2: It's in the courtyard marriage.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Well, that is more specific, but homicide New Orleans is
- 49:42Speaker 1: an everyday occurrence.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yeah, there's plenty of them. He gets a call back
- 49:46Speaker 2: from a detective saying, yes, by God, we are investigating this,
- 49:50Speaker 2: and he runs down the whole story as to how
- 49:52Speaker 2: they're looking for these people.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and he tells them. He says, okay, one of
- 49:56Speaker 1: them's name never and one of them's name worried these
- 49:58Speaker 1: are the names we got from the one of the
- 50:00Speaker 1: people that was at the scene. And now this detective
- 50:02Speaker 1: in Florida, he knows, I have one of these suspects
- 50:05Speaker 1: in this hospital room right here in front of me,
- 50:07Speaker 1: that is part of this homicide.
- 50:11Speaker 2: The detective does not tell Carla that he knows about
- 50:13Speaker 2: the homicide, and he's spoken to the that he has
- 50:16Speaker 2: spoken to the detective in New Orleans because he wants
- 50:19Speaker 2: Carla to continue to basically tell the story so that
- 50:26Speaker 2: they can I mean, she's.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Threaded her mouth and every time she tells it, she
- 50:29Speaker 1: says a little bit more. And if she's not worried
- 50:31Speaker 1: about in, you know, implicating herself in an actual murder
- 50:35Speaker 1: in New Orleans. She thinks she's so far away that
- 50:37Speaker 1: there's no way that they know about this.
- 50:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that wouldn't extra out her back to the to
- 50:42Speaker 2: the country of New Orleans.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Yeah, she's so stupid. She thinks, I'm only in Florida.
- 50:47Speaker 1: There's no way they're going to pick up a phone
- 50:48Speaker 1: and call these people and confirm this. It's like I'm
- 50:51Speaker 1: talking to the police or anything like that. Although in
- 50:54Speaker 1: her defense, there are a lot of police departments. She'd
- 50:56Speaker 1: be like what the fuck? Why didn't you call the
- 50:58Speaker 1: New Orleans police and ask about Yeah, we have.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Heard lots of this stuff. Well, anyway, Carla begins by
- 51:06Speaker 2: saying that she was at the Dungeon, which was the
- 51:09Speaker 2: bar we talked about at the length because of Kara,
- 51:12Speaker 2: and that they went back to the hotel with Sean.
- 51:14Speaker 1: In my defense, we talked about the sex club more.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Okay, Yes, Carla said that she got into the hot
- 51:19Speaker 2: tub with Sean and that's when Worry picked up a
- 51:23Speaker 2: champagne bottle and struck Sewn over the head multiple times,
- 51:28Speaker 2: breaking the bottle. Blood's going everywhere. She said that he
- 51:32Speaker 2: pretty much went into a black outrage when he was
- 51:34Speaker 2: beating Sean. After he got done beating him, he then
- 51:38Speaker 2: held Sean under the water and never claims that she
- 51:43Speaker 2: was not part of the murder. She did not participate.
- 51:46Speaker 2: She was just watching all this happen. After the murder occurred,
- 51:51Speaker 2: they drove to Florida and it ended up in Bradenton, Florida.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Obviously, do what for the clarification?
- 52:00Speaker 2: Yes, you're welcome.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Yes.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Carla claimed that she does not know where her boyfriend is,
- 52:05Speaker 2: that he left her a note at a restaurant and
- 52:07Speaker 2: said that he would find her, but she has no
- 52:10Speaker 2: clue where he's gone.
- 52:11Speaker 1: And she also doesn't know his real name, Like, she
- 52:13Speaker 1: knows nothing.
- 52:13Speaker 2: How is this your boyfriend?
- 52:14Speaker 1: Yes?
- 52:15Speaker 2: They just how are you not being like, this is
- 52:17Speaker 2: the dude, the dude that I was fucking. The dude
- 52:20Speaker 2: that I was fucking brought me hair and then he
- 52:22Speaker 2: loved me.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's like at some point you could be like, hey,
- 52:26Speaker 1: the gig is up. Can we just can we call
- 52:28Speaker 1: each other by our real names now? Or we're just
- 52:30Speaker 1: going to keep doing this. I guess he was real.
- 52:32Speaker 1: They were real hard into this never Worry little stick
- 52:37Speaker 1: they had going on. So with all this information, police
- 52:40Speaker 1: decide to charge Carla Nicole Fry with first degree murder.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Now she's only twenty years old. This is pretty early
- 52:46Speaker 1: to be doing this kind of nonsense too, mm hmm.
- 52:49Speaker 1: They said Carla was completely emotionless when she was arrested.
- 52:52Speaker 1: She showed no remorse, She had no reaction as she
- 52:55Speaker 1: was taken into custody. They now need to focus on
- 52:58Speaker 1: finding Worry and Ben. Police are blasting the photos all
- 53:03Speaker 1: over New Orleans, hoping that someone there would recognize one
- 53:05Speaker 1: of the suspects. Well, just a few days after they
- 53:09Speaker 1: arrest Carla, they look out someone comes forward saying that
- 53:12Speaker 1: they know who Ben is. Because again, this was pretty
- 53:15Speaker 1: I mean, it wasn't great clear CCTV, but it was
- 53:18Speaker 1: good enough that someone would recognize. And yes, the goth
- 53:22Speaker 1: community was large in New Orleans, but it wasn't like everybody.
- 53:25Speaker 1: You know, It's not like it was ninety percent of
- 53:28Speaker 1: the population or anything like that. So it was it
- 53:30Speaker 1: was a small community within a larger community.
- 53:33Speaker 2: We thank you for that.
- 53:35Speaker 1: So they find out that the person tells him that
- 53:39Speaker 1: this Ben guy is actually Benjamin Anthony and he works
- 53:42Speaker 1: at a restaurant in the French Quarter. Police head to
- 53:45Speaker 1: his apartment to question him. Well, police say that this
- 53:48Speaker 1: apartment was when they entered it, it was dirty, it was unkept,
- 53:52Speaker 1: it was very dark. He was just kind of a
- 53:55Speaker 1: I just imagine, like a gross, greasy guy, like greasy hair,
- 53:59Speaker 1: no purple in life, kind of like met me and
- 54:02Speaker 1: he's just Stuart. You don't have any hair, Okay, anyways,
- 54:07Speaker 1: so you know he And what I thought about though,
- 54:11Speaker 1: is like, man, he's working at a restaurant and he's
- 54:14Speaker 1: just nasty. It reminds me of this restaurant we went
- 54:16Speaker 1: to in Lafayette, and I was like, we had to
- 54:18Speaker 1: actually leave. We throw our food out, Me and my friend.
- 54:20Speaker 1: We threw our food out because it was so disgusting.
- 54:22Speaker 1: It was actually pretty famous restaurant because that's the last
- 54:25Speaker 1: one that Mickey Schuenick, the girl that went missing in
- 54:28Speaker 1: Lafayette artmosphere, that's the last place that she was seen alive. Anyways,
- 54:34Speaker 1: we can do that story another day. But the we
- 54:37Speaker 1: have our reasons why we didn't do it, because we
- 54:39Speaker 1: lived in the town and we were afraid of her sister.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Anyways, where are we afraid of the sister?
- 54:45Speaker 1: The sister was like soon after, we were Okay, I'm
- 54:49Speaker 1: not gonna I'm not gonna derail anymore because we've already
- 54:51Speaker 1: it's already too. It's already too much too, it's already
- 54:53Speaker 1: too long. Anyways, he was just kind of this gross guy.
- 54:56Speaker 1: He didn't like having a purpose in life. That's how
- 54:58Speaker 1: police described him. He just looked like someone who was
- 55:00Speaker 1: just subsiding, not bathing. Things like that. They tell him
- 55:06Speaker 1: what they found, and they tell him that they have
- 55:08Speaker 1: footage of him at the hotel. At the same time
- 55:11Speaker 1: that this murder is occurring at the police station. Ben
- 55:15Speaker 1: walks detectives through that evening. He said that they went
- 55:18Speaker 1: back to Sewn's hotel room. Sean was pouring champagne into
- 55:21Speaker 1: that jetted tub.
- 55:24Speaker 2: And they drinking it no.
- 55:27Speaker 1: St and getting it ready for like this whole big
- 55:31Speaker 1: thing that they had planned to happen. So while he's
- 55:35Speaker 1: doing this, Ben is just bored. So he's the one
- 55:37Speaker 1: that actually ripped the pages out of the Bible and
- 55:39Speaker 1: just starts sticking them all over the wall because he
- 55:41Speaker 1: just doesn't have any purpose behind it. There's no Satanic ritual.
- 55:45Speaker 1: He's just bored, and he's like, I'm gonna shove this
- 55:46Speaker 1: stuff on the wall. And while they're getting the bathtub
- 55:50Speaker 1: filled up with with champagne, he says that he sees
- 55:53Speaker 1: Sean get undressed and he gets into the bathtub, so
- 55:56Speaker 1: does Never, and then Ben gets in as well. Well.
- 56:00Speaker 1: At some point, Sean and Never start getting a little
- 56:02Speaker 1: too close, you know, touch speed, a little smoothie smoochy
- 56:06Speaker 1: touching each other. Well that's when Worry, who I don't
- 56:10Speaker 1: believe they every one of the stories that tells it
- 56:14Speaker 1: Worry was not in the bathtub. So he takes a
- 56:17Speaker 1: champagne bottle and starts beating Sean over the head. Well,
- 56:20Speaker 1: Ben says, when this happened, He's like, I'm out people, okay.
- 56:24Speaker 1: He says that he jumps out of the hot tub,
- 56:26Speaker 1: puts his clothes back on. He says he stepped back
- 56:29Speaker 1: and looked and Worry was still beating Sean. But then
- 56:33Speaker 1: Worry pushed his head after he drops the bottle, pushes
- 56:35Speaker 1: his head under the water until he stopped moving. They
- 56:39Speaker 1: asked him, if you know, like, what was Never doing
- 56:42Speaker 1: during all of this time, and he said that she
- 56:44Speaker 1: was jumping up and down, giddy and basically cheering on
- 56:49Speaker 1: Worry while he was murdering Sean. Ben says that he
- 56:55Speaker 1: was just in shock about this whole entire thing. They're
- 56:59Speaker 1: leaving the hotel room, and something he finds even more
- 57:02Speaker 1: disturbing was that, uh, whenever never realized that Carla aka
- 57:07Speaker 1: Carla realized that she left her doll behind in the
- 57:11Speaker 1: hotel room. She was actually more upset about the doll
- 57:14Speaker 1: being left behind than she was about this human being. Yes,
- 57:18Speaker 1: this person being murdered in the room, but obviously they couldn't,
- 57:22Speaker 1: you know, go back and get it. So that's how
- 57:24Speaker 1: the doll ended up on the bed. So in the end,
- 57:27Speaker 1: police are now realizing that this was not some sort
- 57:30Speaker 1: of a cult ritualistic satanic killing. This just happened to
- 57:34Speaker 1: be a bunch of things that happened all in this
- 57:36Speaker 1: hotel room by just coincidence that made it look like
- 57:40Speaker 1: a Satanic killing, and it wasn't at all. It was
- 57:43Speaker 1: just the guy being bored putting the the pages of
- 57:47Speaker 1: the Bible on the wall, the girl accidentally forgetting her
- 57:49Speaker 1: doll that she loved back in the bed, and then
- 57:53Speaker 1: so it all just looked like this, but it actually
- 57:55Speaker 1: had nothing to do with Satanism or anything like that.
- 57:57Speaker 1: And they were a Gothic so that did kind of
- 57:59Speaker 1: add to stereotype. So Ben said that after they left
- 58:04Speaker 1: the hotel room, they head back to the French quarter
- 58:06Speaker 1: and then they just went their separate, separate ways. They
- 58:08Speaker 1: never talked again. He never knew their real names, and
- 58:11Speaker 1: he actually went back to his apartment and he was terrified.
- 58:14Speaker 1: He he thought, oh my god, because that was Ben's
- 58:17Speaker 1: real name, Benjamin, you know, they knew his real name.
- 58:19Speaker 2: He's like, people are gonna come kill me.
- 58:21Speaker 1: He didn't know who they were, but yeah, he was worried.
- 58:23Speaker 1: These are crazy people, like they could come back.
- 58:26Speaker 2: He wasn't worried. The other guy was worried.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Which gun shut ups?
- 58:29Speaker 2: Who's on first?
- 58:30Speaker 1: Oh my god, Yes, he was not. Never worried. He
- 58:34Speaker 1: was very worried. It should change her name to him,
- 58:37Speaker 1: never to very, because Ben was very worried that these
- 58:39Speaker 1: people were going to confine him and do the same
- 58:42Speaker 1: thing to him, because this was absolutely insane to him.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Police in Florida and Louisianne are concerned about tracking down
- 58:48Speaker 2: mister Worry. He was last seen in Bradenton, Florida, so
- 58:52Speaker 2: they blast his picture all over the area and tell
- 58:55Speaker 2: everyone that he's had danger to society. He's on the.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Run, nothing to lose. He got several worries.
- 59:03Speaker 2: Okay, yes, several.
- 59:05Speaker 1: You really missed a lot of jokes during this.
- 59:07Speaker 2: I know this could have been our whole details thing
- 59:10Speaker 2: during with Worry. Within just a few hours of sending
- 59:14Speaker 2: that notice out, they receive a call from a police
- 59:17Speaker 2: station in Ruskin, Florida. They were searching for They were
- 59:22Speaker 2: searching for a suspect in a home invasion robbery. The
- 59:26Speaker 2: suspect was related to the homeowner and it was his
- 59:29Speaker 2: mother's home. She was able to give police a name.
- 59:33Speaker 2: It was Chris Lane. He was a white male that
- 59:35Speaker 2: matched the description Carla gave police. They now have a name,
- 59:39Speaker 2: but they have no clue where Chris is hiding out.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and they were able to really quickly match these
- 59:46Speaker 1: two up because Chris was actually a worry. Was extremely tall.
- 59:51Speaker 1: He was like six five six seven, I mean it
- 59:54Speaker 1: was it was a lot. You know, it wasn't in
- 59:57Speaker 1: the normal height range of a person. So if you've
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: got a six' five suspect that is thin and you know,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: matches it's, Yes they're, like, okay, uh we don't have
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: too many of. These, yeah SO i think this might.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Be a hot.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Topic, yes he looks like he shops at he. Looked,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: no actually he looks like he shoplifts at. Optomic it
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: doesn't have the money to actually purchase at the. Register
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: so about we about a week passes by and police
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: receive a tip from a so they don't know where he's.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: At they're still looking For. CHRIS a childhood friend Of
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: chris's comes. In he tells him he, say, HEY i
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: just Saw chris at the Old denny's and if they
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: would like to catch, him this is their. Chance so
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: it was a childhood friend obviously not a current. Friend
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: they were, like, YEAH i knew this weirdo and WHEN
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: i was a. Kid here he.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Is there an all?
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Star, yes and he walked out on the. Check, NO
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: i don't, know but. Probably so police head straight to
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: the restaurant and Arrest chris as he leaves the, restaurant
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: And chris's last bragging rights were, LIKE i knew they
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: were out there waiting for.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: ME i JUST i just wanted to finish my moon Over. Miamis.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Yeah so they bring him to the police station to interview,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: him and he has a different, story of, course than
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: the other. Two he claims to have drank three bottles
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: of champagne and then he just fell asleep on the
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: couch in that hotel. Room the last thing he remembers
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: before falling asleep was Seeing sean And ben And Never
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: never in the hot. Tub, well he gets awoken suddenly
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: By ben saying we gotta. Go That never Beat sean
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: over the head with the champagne. Bottle, yeah he. Said
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: he also remembers Seeing never playing with the blood on
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: the man's face after she had killed. Him now he
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: said he had nothing to do with the, murder and
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: police are just not believing this story since they have
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: two other you, know the other two people that were.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: There both of them said basically the same exact. Story
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: so And ben wasn't like close To, Carla SO i
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: don't know where they would have corroborated, this, yeah this
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: story or anything like, that and being, like we're gonna
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: frame you Know chris over. Here Worry chris. Worry. Yes so,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: anyway so, they're LIKE i, said they're not believing. This
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: they believe That chris was the one that perpetrated the. Murder,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: however they do not believe That carla was completely, innocent
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: as she was the. One they do believe she actually
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: was cheering on this, attack even though she claimed she.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Wasn't they do believe The ben guy's. Story and it
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: just seems kind of like on pace for, her you,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: know to be doing.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: This doesn't seem like it was at a character for
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: her to be cheering on such a. Thing.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so now that they've got all of their, people,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Yes ben quickly turns on carl And chris and takes
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: a plea deal to serve just four years in prison
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: as an accessory to murder in exchange for his testimony
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: against the other. Two, now In august two thousand and,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Five Carla fry goes on trial for murder. Defense this is.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Terrible the defense was able to convince the jury That
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: carla was a, victim, saying you, know she was probably
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: victimized By. Chris he was this terrible.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Peril you wouldn't even tell her his real.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Name, yeah he was this abusive, boyfriend and that she
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: was just basically pushed into this situation and it was
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: All chris's. Fault so the jury came back with a
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: lesser charge of negligent homicide and in the, end she
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: was only sentenced to five years in. Prison On may,
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: twelfth two thousand and, Six Chris lane decided to go
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: ahead and take a plea deal after he saw, that you,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Know carla didn't get off with, nothing and he was
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: definitely gonna get the.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Max i'm, sure, Well carla went to trial like right
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: before Her Hurricane katrina had.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Too, Yes i've heard that from somebody who was, that Maybe.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: STUART i heard she went to trial just Before Hurricane,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: rita which was pretty terrible as, Well. Stu, okay, anyways
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: what do you want to say About Hurricane. KATRINA i
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: wonder where she was. Though if She i'm guessing she got.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Moved she would have been moved because she would have
