- 0:00So if you are a content creator, what is the direction you should be heading right now?
- 0:05Should it still be building a following, an audience, developing your reach,
- 0:10how many people you can get your message out to?
- 0:12Or is there something different we should be looking into?
- 0:15Should you be looking into building an infrastructure and possibly even a studio?
- 0:20We're going to take a look at this.
- 0:21This is from an article, Fast Company. It's called, the title of it,
- 0:27Why the Smartest Creators Are Building Studios.
- 0:30It says, if the last 10 years were about creators building audiences,
- 0:34the next 10 will be about them building infrastructure.
- 0:39We're entering the era of the creator-led studio. It's already happening.
- 0:43Creators are turning themselves into multidimensional entertainment businesses.
- 0:47They're not just building content pipelines. they're building worlds.
- 0:51Structuring teams, developing IP, launching products, and curating and hosting IRL experiences.
- 0:59They're weaving content, community, and commerce into something bigger with
- 1:03the mindset of founders and the ambition of studio executives.
- 1:08So this is, I think we already saw the writing on the wall.
- 1:11As the algorithms are constantly changing, It's not about building your following,
- 1:18your audience, subscribers.
- 1:19All that is becoming just vanity metrics. And the things that you're creating
- 1:24and putting out there are more likely going to go towards interest.
- 1:28The algorithms are all about where is the interest happening.
- 1:32And it's almost we need to adjust before we're left behind.
- 1:38And I think this whole idea of building studios and infrastructure is something to take notice of.
- 1:43Creators are becoming studios not in the traditional
- 1:46sense not high rises backlots or back
- 1:50broadcast slots but in a way that's native to the
- 1:52internet in modern day technologies fast moving audience
- 1:55first built around trust and consistency it's a shift from i make content to
- 2:01i build programming i do brand deals to i own the formats i am the brand i build
- 2:08brands this is a completely different mind shift and I know that people that
- 2:13started got into this game like.
- 2:15YouTube came around with 2006 ish. And so it's like, everything's, this is very new.
- 2:22I mean, the whole internet is new, relatively speaking.
- 2:25So this is almost like it's getting into hyper drive, how fast we got to be ahead of the game.
- 2:33If you want to have something that's going to get in front of people and get
- 2:36the audience, that's going to be the best for you.
- 2:39Cause I mean, not all audiences are created equal and you not might not need everybody.
- 2:44You might not want everybody that's out there, the people that you want to reach
- 2:48are the people that maybe share more of your interest in your end game,
- 2:51what you are wanting to, what you are wanting to build a relationship with.
- 2:55If you're wanting, I mean, I think I've always hear it's, it's so much more
- 3:00important to get those, those people that are fanatic over you and over what
- 3:04you are interested in, because the thing that's going to last long, the longest,
- 3:09if you were a creator out there, it's going to be that it's something you love
- 3:13that you're passionate about.
- 3:14Otherwise you're just going to fizzle out. You can only go so long talking about something.
- 3:18If you don't care about the news, you better stop talking about the news because
- 3:22your passion's not going to come through.
- 3:27So I mean, it's finding the things that matter the most to you and connecting
- 3:30with the people out there that share those same interests.
- 3:33This is very interesting because it's a complete mind shift.
- 3:37And I think everybody should take notice if you are in this space,
- 3:40if you care about this at all.
- 3:42If you, if the light has been turned on where you are no longer just,
- 3:45I want to be a consumer of content, but I want to produce it.
- 3:48I want to create something.
- 3:49I want to make something valuable for someone else.
- 3:51And I, I think it's getting out there and constantly doing it and you'll figure
- 3:57it out as you go along, as opposed to being a perfectionist and saying,
- 4:01I got to create the best thing imaginable.
- 4:04I think you gotta, you gotta have your bumps, your bruises and the things that
- 4:08you're going to go through, that's going to refine you and make it deliverable
- 4:13to the people that's going to reach the best.
- 4:15I think getting your face out there, getting a connection with people,
- 4:19but finding that target audience that is, I mean, sharing the same loves that
- 4:25you have and the things that you are passionate about and care about.
- 4:28So this is, it's really interesting. This is what's driving it.
- 4:31I want to continue a little bit further. One, creators are maturing into operators.
- 4:36Creators who have the desire to go after this opportunity are no longer solo
- 4:40acts. They're founders.
- 4:42They're hiring, building teams, thinking in pipelines, product market fit,
- 4:48and distribution economics. They're not chasing virality.
- 4:51They are building staying power and it's working.
- 4:53It says, I explored previously when I discussed this shift from creator to entrepreneur.
- 4:58Now it's evolving again from entrepreneur to studio builder.
- 5:03One important call out though, this isn't for every creator and it isn't to
- 5:08diminish the incredible value to come from remaining small and mighty.
- 5:12There will be a thriving segment of creators who stick to what they're doing.
- 5:16However, I believe that the biggest share of audience and money will be held
- 5:20in the relatively few who become studio builders.
- 5:24If you want to get ahead of the game, I think this is it getting into this space of infrastructure.
- 5:29What is going to repeatable content creation as opposed to just something I'm
- 5:36imagining and hoping something will just go viral. Please go viral.
- 5:41As opposed to thinking long-term, long game, as opposed to just short dopamine
- 5:46rushes and then just fizzling out.
- 5:49So this is something to take notice of. think about
- 5:52the long game infrastructure building studios creating
- 5:55something uh teams as opposed to just
- 5:58being a just maybe even a solo act out there
- 6:01and maybe not getting a community around
- 6:04you of people that share the same passion and are
- 6:07that care about the same things that you love and the
- 6:10things that you are driving towards all right so i i thought
- 6:13this was very interesting because it's it's definitely up
- 6:15my alley this is what i what i care about what i i think
- 6:18is going to last especially as everything is the
- 6:22shift has happened from hollywood to real people
- 6:26that are able to just make make things that they
- 6:28they love and they care about and and with the the
- 6:31rise of ai this is going to bring it into the hands of a lot of people that
- 6:36it's not going to be just for the the few out there that just got lucky so make
- 6:41your own luck all right we'll leave it at that if you've enjoyed this video
