- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:16Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett. On this Thursday, April sixteenth, I
- 0:20Speaker 2: hope everyone's recovering from their text day and got everything
- 0:24Speaker 2: taken care of, didn't have to do an extension, pay
- 0:26Speaker 2: their bill or or hopefully if you're one of the
- 0:29Speaker 2: lucky ones that's getting a refund. So but you know,
- 0:32Speaker 2: as I mentioned yesterday to me, what is the most
- 0:35Speaker 2: dreaded day of the year. But I don't know, maybe
- 0:37Speaker 2: maybe there's other dates. I just I've never been able
- 0:40Speaker 2: to figure out another date, and I've thought about it
- 0:43Speaker 2: since I said this yesterday. But justin Kalin's with me.
- 0:46Speaker 2: If you want to give us call FAVO two three
- 0:48Speaker 2: and four fourteen fifty, you want to text us on
- 0:51Speaker 2: the Whiskey Tee text line, you can do that at
- 0:53Speaker 2: FABLO two four to one four fourteen fifty, or you
- 0:56Speaker 2: can tweet me at Just the Cat radios. I've got
- 0:59Speaker 2: several things I want to talk about today, which uh,
- 1:02Speaker 2: some good, some bad, and somewhach I'm not sure if
- 1:07Speaker 2: it's good or bad, but we're we're going to discuss
- 1:09Speaker 2: it and I know, Uh, Justin's gonna really enjoy one
- 1:13Speaker 2: of the topics I have today. But uh, Justin, you know,
- 1:18Speaker 2: we just did cross talk for the first time together
- 1:21Speaker 2: in a little while. Because I'm fourteen years I stop
- 1:24Speaker 2: it now. It hasn't been that long. AGOS like it.
- 1:26Speaker 2: But your your your excitement that I'm in town really
- 1:30Speaker 2: caught me off guard. I thought I told you I
- 1:33Speaker 2: was gonna be here today. Maybe I told Matthew and
- 1:36Speaker 2: that's why you didn't get the uh the memo. But yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 2: I mean I do forget things from time to Okay, good,
- 1:43Speaker 2: but I think I told you, but I might not.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Who knows, I don't.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I don't think you realize how much not that it's
- 1:50Speaker 3: hard producing when you're not here, yes, but how much
- 1:54Speaker 3: easier it makes it for me when the talent's actually
- 1:58Speaker 3: in studio.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Why is that I don't get it because we're still
- 2:02Speaker 2: we're still on a computer screen.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but there's there's way less buttons for me to push.
- 2:06Speaker 2: There is, there's.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Way less things that I've got to worry about. I
- 2:10Speaker 3: don't have to tell you the music coming back because
- 2:13Speaker 3: you're able to hear the music coming back. It's just
- 2:15Speaker 3: it all around makes it so much better. I think, Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 3: that's one thing I wish we could figure out. You know,
- 2:20Speaker 3: I don't get it.
- 2:21Speaker 2: That's the one thing that I will say, and I'll
- 2:24Speaker 2: compliment y'all. At the last at the old radio station,
- 2:28Speaker 2: there were technical difficulties on a weekly basis. Here there's
- 2:33Speaker 2: hardly any technical difficulty. Oh god, that's the kiss of death.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Well it maybe, but I don't believe in that. I
- 2:40Speaker 2: don't believe in And and the only thing that what
- 2:45Speaker 2: was it? A week before last we didn't get to
- 2:47Speaker 2: do a show and because of technical difficulties. But I
- 2:52Speaker 2: think that's the first time it's ever happened in the
- 2:55Speaker 2: two and a half almost three years i've been here. Really, yes,
- 2:59Speaker 2: I think that it is the first time we haven't
- 3:01Speaker 2: been able to do the show because of all the
- 3:03Speaker 2: texts you were having that day. I'm in fact, I'm
- 3:06Speaker 2: almost positive, ninety nine point nine percent sure. But this
- 3:11Speaker 2: is the one thing I wish we could figure out
- 3:12Speaker 2: that I could listen to music when I'm not here.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't understand that. I've asked our engineer about it.
- 3:17Speaker 3: He doesn't understand it either. It's just it's weird. Yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 3: it's really weird. So anyway, but yeah, I'm here come
- 3:24Speaker 3: to over you know, an overcast, but at least it's warm.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, is everybody gonna blame me for Saturday? And
- 3:32Speaker 2: are they really? I'm getting to blame for the weather
- 3:36Speaker 2: on Saturday? No question. I love that you're saying that. Okay,
- 3:42Speaker 2: I'll take the blame. I'm so say, at least it's
- 3:44Speaker 2: not getting canceled. It's not getting canceled, but it might
- 3:48Speaker 2: not be the prettiest to days, which which is a bummer.
- 3:51Speaker 2: So I hope that's not dictating how Kentucky Oaks and
- 3:54Speaker 2: Derby you're going to be this year.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Hey have you ever have you ever taken in thunder
- 4:00Speaker 3: from a boat?
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yes? How's that miserable? Is it? Yes? How so? Because
- 4:06Speaker 2: there's too many boats out there, and then when they leave,
- 4:09Speaker 2: it is like you're leaving in hurricane water.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Really, Yes, the wakes are so big cause people aren't
- 4:15Speaker 3: driving slower exactly.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Well, not just that, but you got these big house
- 4:19Speaker 2: boats out there and big cruiser boats that are creating
- 4:22Speaker 2: gigantic wakes and they're just taking off to get out
- 4:25Speaker 2: of there. Yeah, watching from the boat from a boat
- 4:29Speaker 2: is not a fun place.
- 4:30Speaker 3: So don't you have to go like when you leave,
- 4:32Speaker 3: don't you have to go like two miles an hour
- 4:33Speaker 3: because it's dark?
- 4:34Speaker 2: Obvious? Well they when I did, no, they were going
- 4:37Speaker 2: pretty fast. I mean yeah, oh yeah, it was. It
- 4:40Speaker 2: was not fun, it was dangerous and I did not
- 4:42Speaker 2: enjoy it. So I will not do that again. My
- 4:45Speaker 2: view will be from the comforts of my home. I
- 4:50Speaker 2: just I don't have well, you know how I am
- 4:52Speaker 2: about crowds, and I think the listeners do too. I mean,
- 4:54Speaker 2: my anxiety goes through the roof. I got to and
- 4:58Speaker 2: right now is the time I got to start bill
- 5:00Speaker 2: myself up for Derby Week. And it's not just Oaks
- 5:03Speaker 2: and Derby Day, it's the week, you know, going to
- 5:05Speaker 2: the backside, all the people there at the backside, going
- 5:08Speaker 2: to Churchill Downs just to watch the races that day,
- 5:10Speaker 2: lots of people there. I literally have to psych myself
- 5:15Speaker 2: up it's going to be okay. People are going to
- 5:19Speaker 2: touch you by accident. I just said that. I know
- 5:24Speaker 2: it's exactly. I know it's weird, but that's how I am.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I don't like when random people bump up against me.
- 5:32Speaker 2: It just it frustrates me. I get it. Yeah, I'll
- 5:35Speaker 2: be watching from my house too. All right, I'll give
- 5:37Speaker 2: you an example. So last week I was leaving a
- 5:39Speaker 2: restaurant and I, you know, i'm the old Southern tradition
- 5:46Speaker 2: person that I am, because Louisville is in the South.
- 5:49Speaker 2: I'm leaving a restaurant, I hold the door open for
- 5:52Speaker 2: a young lady that was coming in. Never said a word.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Oh that ticks me off. I okay, and my risk
- 6:00Speaker 2: responses you're welcome. And I kind of disappointed myself because
- 6:06Speaker 2: I said a little louder than I should have, and
- 6:09Speaker 2: she turned around and said, oh, I'm so sorry, thank
- 6:11Speaker 2: you very much, and then walked in. Now, at that point,
- 6:14Speaker 2: I feel really bad. No, you shouldn't.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Really, you did something nice for somebody. There's a certain
- 6:19Speaker 3: response you say when somebody does something nice for you.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I don't think you should feel bad at all. Really
- 6:27Speaker 3: did it took you more time to open that door
- 6:30Speaker 3: than it would have taken her to be like thank you. Yeah, Well,
- 6:33Speaker 3: you're probably right, but it's okay. People are gonna do that,
- 6:36Speaker 3: just like when you let somebody cut in front of
- 6:39Speaker 3: you when you're driving your car and they don't wave
- 6:42Speaker 3: and say that. That drives me nuts. I'll just kind
- 6:45Speaker 3: of wave you're welcome. I do the sarcastic I know,
- 6:48Speaker 3: yeah and see and then I feel bad for doing that.
- 6:52Speaker 3: It's just like, well, you're being a jerk, like they're
- 6:54Speaker 3: being a jerk. So anyway, and there's a certain way
- 6:57Speaker 3: you treat people. I think there is, but people aren't
- 7:01Speaker 3: like that. And people aren't going to move out of
- 7:03Speaker 3: your way when you're walking in a line and you're
- 7:07Speaker 3: coming towards each other, and you know what, every now
- 7:10Speaker 3: and then, I got to move out of the way.
- 7:11Speaker 3: So I don't know, I just I just I have
- 7:15Speaker 3: to psych myself up with these crowds, and I'm dreading it.
- 7:18Speaker 2: So that's why I don't go to Thunder over Louisville.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I would like to see. The part I'd like to
- 7:23Speaker 2: see the most is not necessarily the fireworks, because I
- 7:26Speaker 2: think I've seen enough fireworks in my lifetime. I want
- 7:29Speaker 2: to see the air show, that's the part and the like.
- 7:32Speaker 2: For instance, I'm going to a party tomorrow night at
- 7:36Speaker 2: Bowman Field, a fundraiser for Flight five oh two is
- 7:42Speaker 2: what I believe it's called. It's a great, great group
- 7:44Speaker 2: of people. It's an organization that teaches youth how to
- 7:49Speaker 2: become a pilot at no cost. And so we're going
- 7:55Speaker 2: to be able to see all the airplanes that are
- 7:57Speaker 2: here for Thunder of a Louisville. And I'm like, okay,
- 8:00Speaker 2: that's pretty cool. So I'm looking forward to that. If
- 8:02Speaker 2: you want to go, let me know. I'll make sure
- 8:04Speaker 2: you get an invitation. What time is that six o'clock?
- 8:06Speaker 2: I think, yeah, that might be interested in that.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Yeah, actually, but it's but it's really I've bet seeing
- 8:13Speaker 3: a lot of those planes up close to personal.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Well, I'm not kidding. If you want an invitation, I'm
- 8:17Speaker 2: giving you one. Okay, so you'll you'll you'll be you'll
- 8:20Speaker 2: be most certainly invited. Now you have to act a
- 8:24Speaker 2: certain way. Okay, you got to dress a certain way.
- 8:27Speaker 2: You gotta wear a collared shirt. I mean, come on, man,
- 8:30Speaker 2: I don't want you showing up in a T shirt
- 8:31Speaker 2: and a backward wearing hat. Go. No, we're not in
- 8:34Speaker 2: no tank tops either. Okay it's summertime. No, no, it's not. Okay,
- 8:40Speaker 2: you have to dress a certain way. If you want
- 8:42Speaker 2: to wear blue jeans, that's fine, but no cutoffs.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Can I wear a cutoff? No collar shirt? No, that's
- 8:47Speaker 3: no we're not. No, you know, it was funny.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I was.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I was talking to my family about that this weekend
- 8:51Speaker 3: on my golf trip. How unfair is that that? So
- 8:54Speaker 3: for the longest time, women couldn't even play golf, and
- 8:57Speaker 3: now that they now they can, which I'm ecstatic they can.
- 9:01Speaker 3: They should be able to. But how come women can
- 9:04Speaker 3: wear a cut off collared shirt. But if I were
- 9:08Speaker 3: to show up to a golf course and the cut
- 9:09Speaker 3: off collared shirt, they'd be like, start get out of hair.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Well wait a minute, now, they're not cut off shirts.
- 9:15Speaker 2: They're designed that way.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, but if I were to get one
- 9:18Speaker 3: like that, they wouldn't let me wear it.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Probably not. No, I like it that way. I listen,
- 9:25Speaker 2: I want to wear a cut off No, you would
- 9:28Speaker 2: look ridiculous.
- 9:29Speaker 3: That's why women are better golfers, because they don't have
- 9:31Speaker 3: the sleeves to restrict their swing.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Then go over to a golf shop and you get
- 9:34Speaker 2: the same shirt, and you wear the same shirt and
- 9:36Speaker 2: see how they react. It's like, wait, wait a minute, dude,
- 9:38Speaker 2: that shirt's for sale right there. What's the problem that
- 9:42Speaker 2: I'm wearing it? That's how you solve that problem. They
- 9:44Speaker 2: wouldn't let me play. Yes, they would. They wouldn't if
- 9:47Speaker 2: you bought the shirt in the pro shop and it's
- 9:50Speaker 2: a women's shirt, they are going to let you play.
- 9:53Speaker 3: That's what I'm talking about. That's maybe part of my complaint.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Why don't we make men's collared shirts that are cut off? No,
- 10:00Speaker 3: I don't want anything like that. It looks ridiculous. I
- 10:03Speaker 3: want it. I want them all to do.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Yeah, well, fine, get you go, get you a squirt,
- 10:07Speaker 2: and you wear that squirt out in the golf course
- 10:09Speaker 2: and see how everybody react.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Just I'm sick and tired of playing golf and coming
- 10:12Speaker 3: home with a frickin farmer's tan. If only I can
- 10:15Speaker 3: have cutoffs and get these all the arms tan.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I'm a big traditionalist, as you know. I'm all about tradition,
- 10:23Speaker 2: and golf is the probably the one that I'm the
- 10:26Speaker 2: most rigid about. You dress a certain way, you tuck
- 10:30Speaker 2: your shirt in, you wear a college shirt, and you
- 10:32Speaker 2: wear a nice pair of shorts, socks and golf shoes.
- 10:35Speaker 2: That's how you dress to go now. It can't be
- 10:39Speaker 2: cut off blue jeans or anything like our gym shorts.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Gotta be halfway decent. You can go out and buy
- 10:44Speaker 2: you a ten dollars pair of shorts that looks like
- 10:47Speaker 2: it's a thirty forty dollars pair of shorts. Do that? Huh, Well,
- 10:51Speaker 2: where do you do that? You can go t J Max, Marshalls,
- 10:54Speaker 2: any of those places have that kind of stuff. Come on, man,
- 10:57Speaker 2: I've never been to either of those. You're not really okay?
- 11:01Speaker 2: Might have to venture in. You will have to venture
- 11:03Speaker 2: in because there's a lot of times thought they were
- 11:05Speaker 2: chick stores. No, absolutely not. I will tell you TJ
- 11:09Speaker 2: Max and Marshall's has really nice golf shirts and shorts. Okay,
- 11:14Speaker 2: I can contest to that. I'll check it out. Yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 2: you should and and go there. And a lot of
- 11:20Speaker 2: times they'll have sales too. They'll have a lot of
- 11:22Speaker 2: Greg Norman shirts and stuff. I don't need any of that. Well,
- 11:27Speaker 2: they're nice shirts, that's your problem. Yeah, I'm not supporting.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Well we're gonna talk about that later. But yeah, get
- 11:34Speaker 2: over the whole thing about live. I love Greg Norman.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I've always liked Greg Norman. I will always be. I
- 11:40Speaker 2: know you became a bit of a jerk, but I'm
- 11:42Speaker 2: right there. I necessarily became a jerk. Yeah. Anyway, all right, Well,
- 11:48Speaker 2: let's talk about the big news of the day, which
- 11:51Speaker 2: we all know what that is.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Uh.
- 11:53Speaker 2: University of Kentucky gets their first transfer commit of the year. Uh.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And it's Washington port card zoom Diallo, who came last Friday,
- 12:05Speaker 2: and the Husky point guard average fifteen points per game,
- 12:09Speaker 2: shooting forty nine percent from the field, with four rebounds
- 12:13Speaker 2: per game and four assists. But is there a negative
- 12:19Speaker 2: to him? I mean, the only question I have about
- 12:24Speaker 2: zoom Diallo is can he shoot from beyond the arc? He?
- 12:31Speaker 2: All right, are you ready for this? Justin he made
- 12:36Speaker 2: He only made more than one to three point in
- 12:41Speaker 2: six of sixty four games played for Washington. I mean
- 12:48Speaker 2: if given that UK landed are lack shooting this past year,
- 12:54Speaker 2: that can be a bit of a concern right there.
- 12:57Speaker 2: What do you think not necessary a concern for me?
- 13:01Speaker 3: Okay, good, because I just I don't think you need
- 13:05Speaker 3: when you're talking about a point guard, especially one in
- 13:07Speaker 3: Mark Pope's offense, I don't think they have to be
- 13:11Speaker 3: all that dangerous of a three point shooter. I mean,
- 13:14Speaker 3: look at was Lamont Butler a great three point shooter? No,
- 13:18Speaker 3: was Jalen Low when he was out there a great
- 13:20Speaker 3: three point shooter.
- 13:21Speaker 2: No, but this was a terrible shooting team, so about
- 13:26Speaker 2: I get that, and maybe it's fair to It's definitely
- 13:29Speaker 2: fair to have those concerns.
- 13:30Speaker 3: But at this point in the process, you have to
- 13:33Speaker 3: trust that he's going to be surrounded by guys that
- 13:36Speaker 3: can shoot the ball. You know, can Williams is already
- 13:38Speaker 3: going to be a part of that equation. Can you
- 13:40Speaker 3: get a couple shooters out of the portal to alleviate
- 13:43Speaker 3: that from from him, because I don't think that's what
- 13:47Speaker 3: you want him doing. I watched a lot of Zoom
- 13:49Speaker 3: Diallo this year. He's not really Yeah, he's in the
- 13:53Speaker 3: Big Ten. I watched a lot of Big ten basketball
- 13:56Speaker 3: because of my Hoosiers. But he's definitely not one of
- 13:59Speaker 3: those guys that you want hanging around the perimeter. You
- 14:01Speaker 3: want him attacking the paint, getting inside, getting drawing some
- 14:05Speaker 3: defenders near him to open up space for others around
- 14:08Speaker 3: the perimeter, which then hopefully they can knock down the
- 14:11Speaker 3: deep ball. You have to have that faith at this
- 14:13Speaker 3: point in the process.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I'm worth, I'm gonna have that faith. I man, It's
- 14:19Speaker 2: just it is a little bit of a concern.
- 14:22Speaker 3: So, I mean, would I've rather had Rob Wright, absolutely,
- 14:25Speaker 3: but didn't work out.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Would you have rather had the Georgia transfer? Jeremiah Wilkerson, Yeah,
- 14:32Speaker 2: But is he he's not considered a point guard, is he? Well,
- 14:36Speaker 2: I think he's an off guard. Is he? Okay? All
- 14:38Speaker 2: right then, because that's one of those things they've been
- 14:41Speaker 2: talking about that he was considering. Kentucky might have transferred
- 14:45Speaker 2: to Kentucky if they hadn't taken so long with some
- 14:47Speaker 2: of these other people so and taking so long with
- 14:50Speaker 2: Rob Wright.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I'm surprised, honestly with the way that it worked out
- 14:56Speaker 3: with Rob Wright, that Zoom was still like, hey, I'll
- 14:58Speaker 3: go to Kentucky because they brought Zoom on campus first, right, Yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 2: They did.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Then they bring in Rob right behind him, Like how
- 15:05Speaker 3: did that make Zoom? I would have thought that that
- 15:07Speaker 3: would would have been off putting for Zoom being like, oh, well,
- 15:11Speaker 3: they're trying to recruit over me. But at the end
- 15:13Speaker 3: of the day, you've got to have depth pieces as well.
- 15:16Speaker 3: But I was a little bit surprised when I saw
- 15:18Speaker 3: that news yesterday. The only thing I think of is
- 15:21Speaker 3: maybe Zoom got a little more money out of it.
- 15:23Speaker 3: That's the other concern Rob going back to be exactly,
- 15:26Speaker 3: he knows that Rob Wright is going to be YU now,
- 15:29Speaker 3: and now Zoom says, well, you know what, my price
- 15:32Speaker 3: just went up. Well he didn't, probably say his agent
- 15:34Speaker 3: probably that makes sense. So now we had to waste
- 15:37Speaker 3: a lot of more money on a player that I
- 15:40Speaker 3: hope is going to be good. I'm going to be
- 15:43Speaker 3: excited about it, but I'm still going to be a
- 15:46Speaker 3: little pestimistic about it. I mean, you don't need Zoom
- 15:48Speaker 3: to come in and put up sixteen points a game.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Ideally score I don't know, well the.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Average fifteen points, So why do I want to score
- 15:56Speaker 2: sixteen points a game?
- 15:57Speaker 3: I think those assist numbers could go up. I mean, really,
- 16:00Speaker 3: depending on what's around him, you just need eleven twelve
- 16:03Speaker 3: points a game out of him. Maybe get that assist
- 16:05Speaker 3: number up from four to about that seven seven and
- 16:08Speaker 3: a half mark. That means you're getting your teammates involved.
- 16:11Speaker 3: That's what you want a point guard doing.
- 16:13Speaker 2: You don't.
- 16:14Speaker 3: You don't want your point guard to be your primary balls,
- 16:16Speaker 3: primary ball score. You want him getting everybody else involved.
- 16:20Speaker 3: And I think he has the opportunity to do.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Just that, and hopefully he doesn't injure a shoulder, So
- 16:25Speaker 2: let's just go ahead or anything else. For let's let's
- 16:28Speaker 2: just go ahead and put him in bubble wrap right
- 16:30Speaker 2: now until next October when we will need him to
- 16:34Speaker 2: get out there on the court. So a week before
- 16:36Speaker 2: the season he can start practice. Man, I mean, yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 2: And there's got to be more. I mean the pressure
- 16:43Speaker 2: is mounting because now Mark Pope is not just getting
- 16:46Speaker 2: attention here regionally. You realize that he's getting national attention
- 16:52Speaker 2: for not bringing in the way that you don't want
- 16:55Speaker 2: national attention because he hasn't brought anybody on until yesterday.
- 16:59Speaker 2: And and I think it's a good get. I'm gonna
- 17:01Speaker 2: be again, I'm gonna be positive about this. I think
- 17:04Speaker 2: it's a very good get. A lot of people are
- 17:07Speaker 2: making fun of it. Do you think it's warranted or
- 17:10Speaker 2: do you think it is a positive recruit for Mark Pope.
- 17:15Speaker 3: I mean, when you think about Kentucky basketball, right you
- 17:19Speaker 3: would think Kentucky could get whoever they wanted out of
- 17:23Speaker 3: the portal every single That is not happening though. I
- 17:28Speaker 3: don't think Zoom diallo is would have been the number
- 17:31Speaker 3: one option for a bunch of Kentucky fans. I don't
- 17:34Speaker 3: think he would have been the number one option, but
- 17:36Speaker 3: at least it's something, right That's that's all we needed
- 17:39Speaker 3: at this point, is for something to fall in the
- 17:42Speaker 3: way of Kentucky to get the fan base hopeful. Now
- 17:45Speaker 3: you can start to think about, Hey, who's who's gonna
- 17:48Speaker 3: be complimentary behind or besides Zoom Diallo. Who's gonna help
- 17:52Speaker 3: this team be the best that it can possibly be?
- 17:54Speaker 3: And Mark Pope and the coaching staff are still trying
- 17:57Speaker 3: to figure that out as well. But nice to have
- 17:59Speaker 3: some positive news yesterday.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Now with Rob Wright going back to be uyu uh,
- 18:05Speaker 2: it has been reported that he never really was serious
- 18:09Speaker 2: about uk Okay, who's reporting that? Jeff Goodman, what an idiot?
- 18:17Speaker 3: If you've got a kid coming to get you're the
- 18:19Speaker 3: one that said he is Jeff?
- 18:21Speaker 2: Well, wait, did the US saying he has lots of
- 18:24Speaker 2: contacts and you believe a lot of stuff you say?
- 18:26Speaker 2: Now you call him a moron? I mean, he can't
- 18:28Speaker 2: go on both sides of the ball as I can.
- 18:30Speaker 3: He does have a lot of contacts, he knows a
- 18:32Speaker 3: lot of people, but he is absolutely a moron more
- 18:35Speaker 3: times than not. I completely agree with that one. Right there,
- 18:39Speaker 3: that's a that's a dumb thing to say. If a
- 18:41Speaker 3: kid's gonna like, if I have no interest in going
- 18:44Speaker 3: to let's just use one of your old schools, Pepperdine.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Well, that's actually a bad example, because I would go
- 18:51Speaker 3: to Pepperdine just for the visit.
- 18:56Speaker 2: I was gonna say, you're an idiot for that thing.
- 18:58Speaker 2: You wouldn't go there.
- 18:59Speaker 3: I'm not gonna go if I have no interest in
- 19:01Speaker 3: going to Kansas, I'm not gonna go take a visit
- 19:03Speaker 3: to Kansas. Like, that's just not happening. If I'm going
- 19:06Speaker 3: on a visit, that means that I have interest.
- 19:08Speaker 4: No.
- 19:08Speaker 2: See, I disagree. I think if you're trying to get
- 19:11Speaker 2: more money out of a particular school, even if the
- 19:13Speaker 2: school you've been playing for the last couple of years,
- 19:16Speaker 2: you make that trip. I would bet more times than not.
- 19:20Speaker 2: It wasn't him saying that. Keep in mind, all of
- 19:24Speaker 2: these athletes now have agents. I hate transfer portal. Well,
- 19:27Speaker 2: I'm telling you all of these athletes now have advice
- 19:32Speaker 2: with people that have been doing this for a long
- 19:35Speaker 2: time and in order in This is a business now,
- 19:39Speaker 2: this is not amateurism. This is a business. And trust me,
- 19:44Speaker 2: that agent is looking for money not only for his
- 19:47Speaker 2: client but for his own pocket. So that agent told
- 19:51Speaker 2: Rob right in order for it. Listen, it's okay if
- 19:54Speaker 2: you want to stay at BYU, but don't tell BYU that.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Why don't you go visit UK and act like you're
- 20:01Speaker 2: interested and that will create more money for you back
- 20:05Speaker 2: at BUYU. And now I'm not saying that is exactly
- 20:09Speaker 2: what happened, but I am saying a lot of athletes
- 20:12Speaker 2: are doing this today and so you don't know whether
- 20:15Speaker 2: or not they're serious or not. And it's that's the
- 20:17Speaker 2: frustrating part about college as athletics today because they are
- 20:22Speaker 2: going to be doing that. Trust me, These agents are
- 20:26Speaker 2: telling all of these players to go think, do things
- 20:28Speaker 2: that you would have never have seen before.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I mean, it's a good point, and it's something that's
- 20:34Speaker 3: why I hate the transfer portal because I feel like
- 20:36Speaker 3: an idiot that I didn't even consider that side of it.
- 20:39Speaker 3: But that absolutely is probably something that went down.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I have to believe that is exactly what went down.
- 20:48Speaker 2: And it's disappointing that you have something you have false positives.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I mean, you think mar Pope's thinking, Okay, I got
- 20:54Speaker 2: a shot with him number one. You know, he's at
- 20:55Speaker 2: my formal school that I coached at number two I'm
- 20:58Speaker 2: Mormon two. And then number three, and maybe I can
- 21:00Speaker 2: bring him here because you know what, UK is a
- 21:02Speaker 2: bigger program than BYU is. But it's been frustrating to
- 21:06Speaker 2: me that a school like BYU No. One should be
- 21:10Speaker 2: considering BYU over UK No. One. And that's where it's
- 21:15Speaker 2: that's just I'm convinced. It's all about money. That's all
- 21:20Speaker 2: it is. Just lace my pocket with all the cash
- 21:23Speaker 2: you can and I'm good to go. I don't care
- 21:25Speaker 2: where I'm playing. I at this point, if I had
- 21:29Speaker 2: a son that was considering, of all places, Tennessee or Duke, yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 2: I kicked, Oh, well, you know what. My son comes
- 21:39Speaker 2: to his old dad and says, Dad, you know, they'll
- 21:41Speaker 2: give me a chance to go there. They're gonna give
- 21:43Speaker 2: me this amount of money and guess what, I'll give
- 21:45Speaker 2: you a percentage of time, dude, go play it. I'll
- 21:48Speaker 2: be the biggest everyone know exactly. I would be the
- 21:50Speaker 2: biggest Duke fan. It's all about the money. And until
- 21:55Speaker 2: people realize that, until uh, the NCAA, which I have
- 22:01Speaker 2: no faith, will be able to do anything it's just
- 22:03Speaker 2: gonna be the wild wild West, and it's going to
- 22:06Speaker 2: frustrate and hurt the fans the most. I just hope
- 22:09Speaker 2: it doesn't kill the game. That's the only thing I hope.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I don't think it will. But somebody's got to step in,
- 22:17Speaker 2: and I hate to say it, it might have to
- 22:18Speaker 2: be the government that steps in and say, listen, you
- 22:20Speaker 2: got to listen to the EC DOUBLEA or otherwise. Uh,
- 22:24Speaker 2: but how do you how do you penalize these schools?
- 22:28Speaker 2: No one is listening to the UNC DOUAA anymore, no one.
- 22:31Speaker 2: So what do you do at that point? They're the
- 22:33Speaker 2: governing body. So if they're not going to listen to
- 22:37Speaker 2: the governing body, what do you do anyway? Oh my goodness,
- 22:40Speaker 2: I'm sorry you're already I know you're shaking your head. No,
- 22:43Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I went way too far over there. H
- 22:45Speaker 2: five oh two three eight four four. I'm back in town.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I'm excited. Five O two three eight four fourteen fifty.
- 22:50Speaker 2: You want to call in? If you want to text
- 22:52Speaker 2: me on the Whiskey Deep text line, you can do
- 22:53Speaker 2: that at five oh two four to one four fourteen fifty,
- 22:56Speaker 2: which already got a bunch we'll get to those as
- 22:58Speaker 2: soon as we get back, or you tweet me at
- 23:00Speaker 2: just the cat Raider. We got all kinds of stuff
- 23:03Speaker 2: we're gonna talk about today. If you want to join us,
- 23:05Speaker 2: I would love it. Text me, call me whatever you
- 23:08Speaker 2: want to do. We'll get you on. And I appreciate that.
- 23:11Speaker 2: This is just a cat stay right there more to come, so.
- 23:21Speaker 1: So so.
- 23:31Speaker 2: They're not ze right.
- 23:35Speaker 5: I want to tell I want to do my zoom
- 23:43Speaker 5: zone zone man, I.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Want just shake your butt? Is that what this is?
- 23:58Speaker 4: Day?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Shake your rump? Oh okay, I was gonna say, just
- 24:02Speaker 2: shake your rump. What does zoom have do is shaking
- 24:05Speaker 2: your rump?
- 24:06Speaker 4: One?
- 24:06Speaker 2: I don't know, keep it going. I gotta listen this
- 24:08Speaker 2: a little longer.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Baby baby one.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, man, this is this. I never knew
- 24:18Speaker 2: you know you you you played that first song. You
- 24:20Speaker 2: said you couldn't take credit for it because you said
- 24:24Speaker 2: Josh sent that into you, which I appreciate that. Josh,
- 24:27Speaker 2: all credit to Josh. Yeah, And that song was what
- 24:30Speaker 2: this one, No, the one before the first one you played.
- 24:33Speaker 2: It was called I think it's just called zoom it is.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I literally had no idea there were songs called zoom.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Boozy badass, not badass badass easy easy.
- 24:49Speaker 2: In other words, I love that. Okay, boozy boozy, badass
- 24:54Speaker 2: badazz Okay, I'm just gonna go badazz Okay, not bedazzle,
- 24:58Speaker 2: but bedazz u. But okay, I did like that one.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I like the last one you played. Only thing. When
- 25:04Speaker 2: I saw Zoom, I'm like, there's no way that's his
- 25:06Speaker 2: real name? No way?
- 25:08Speaker 3: Yeah, have we looked it up? Have we done any research? No,
- 25:11Speaker 3: I've done zero research on that. Let me see and
- 25:14Speaker 3: uh only what so, no wonder he goes by zoom Okay,
- 25:19Speaker 3: oh no, is it something his real name is the
- 25:23Speaker 3: zoom nah. Oh that's why the zoomnah. Say it again,
- 25:27Speaker 3: the zoomnah. That's how it's zuma v A z o
- 25:31Speaker 3: U m A n A. It's got to be a
- 25:34Speaker 3: foreign country name. Well yeah, imagine so wow, And he
- 25:39Speaker 3: goes by zoom. I like that correct?
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yeah, because you know you and I can't shorten our name.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Well yeah, you can shorten mine, Justin you can't necessarily.
- 25:47Speaker 2: There's no nickname for Justin, is there? No?
- 25:50Speaker 3: I mean no, I mean, if anything, you're lengthening it
- 25:53Speaker 3: just in time.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Just yeah, no, no or unless you said, well, if
- 25:58Speaker 2: you said justin time, then just call it, because a
- 26:00Speaker 2: lot of people say git, you just don't say just Michael.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Obviously you got Mike. Mikey. Oh my gosh, you talk
- 26:10Speaker 2: about making my hair curl. Is when somebody calls me
- 26:15Speaker 2: Mike and I know, I just I just I don't
- 26:19Speaker 2: like it. It's either somebody's known me all my life
- 26:23Speaker 2: or it's somebody that doesn't know who I am. So
- 26:25Speaker 2: when I get the phone, you know, the scam calls,
- 26:27Speaker 2: and somebody says, hey, uh, might I speak to Mike,
- 26:31Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, I don't know you. I usually hang up.
- 26:34Speaker 2: No Mike here, No, no Mike here, and no Mikey.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Now my niece has called me Mikey. Give it to Mikey.
- 26:39Speaker 2: He likes, yeah, I know exactly. See. I had to
- 26:42Speaker 2: grow up with that. I had to grow up and
- 26:45Speaker 2: give it to Mikey. Anyway, all right, well let's go
- 26:47Speaker 2: to the front lines. Five O two three, eight, four,
- 26:49Speaker 2: fourteen fifteen. What's up?
- 26:50Speaker 4: John?
- 26:52Speaker 6: What's up?
- 26:53Speaker 7: Guys?
- 26:53Speaker 6: How you doing this morning?
- 26:55Speaker 2: It is the greatest day of my life. John, how
- 26:56Speaker 2: about you?
- 26:58Speaker 6: I got my I got my meat in DCAF coffee
- 27:01Speaker 6: and I'm sitting here just getting ready to go into work,
- 27:04Speaker 6: and I'm listening to the show, and I had to
- 27:05Speaker 6: call in.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Well, it's it's not a grande coffee. You got a medium.
- 27:10Speaker 2: I didn't know people called coffees medium or large.
- 27:15Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I still I still keep it old school small, medium, large.
- 27:19Speaker 6: I don't do those talls and bigs or whatever they say.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I don't do that, John, I've never understood the point
- 27:25Speaker 3: of DCAF.
- 27:28Speaker 6: It's less calf. It gives you a little bit, but
- 27:31Speaker 6: not much, like five milligrams. But my family has a
- 27:34Speaker 6: history of like high blood pressure h and I love
- 27:39Speaker 6: to taste the coffee with especially the way I prepare it,
- 27:42Speaker 6: you know, just a little bit of sugar, a little
- 27:44Speaker 6: bit of cream. So I like the taste and the
- 27:46Speaker 6: warmness of the drink. I just don't need all that
- 27:49Speaker 6: caffeine affecting my health.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Gotcha. Good for you? Cause you're wait, wait, you're you
- 27:54Speaker 2: don't sound necessarily that old, John, May I ask how
- 27:57Speaker 2: old you are?
- 27:59Speaker 6: I am four years old.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Oh, okay, you're a little You sound younger than you are. Wow,
- 28:06Speaker 2: that's a compliment. Why would why did you say it that?
- 28:09Speaker 2: That's a compliment? That felt like a cut to me.
- 28:12Speaker 2: It didn't, John, Was that a cut?
- 28:15Speaker 6: No?
- 28:15Speaker 2: No, thank you.
- 28:17Speaker 6: I sometimes I do feel like you know Pinocchio where
- 28:21Speaker 6: he feels like I'm a real boy by now, you know,
- 28:24Speaker 6: in my life, I'm getting well, I.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Tell you what, I look in the mirror every day,
- 28:28Speaker 2: and the older I get, the more I'm like, holy cow,
- 28:31Speaker 2: I look like my dad. Anyway. But what's going on today? John?
- 28:35Speaker 6: Okay, so I'll call in because there's a few pieces
- 28:39Speaker 6: to this puzzle we're starting to put together here and
- 28:42Speaker 6: it took a while. So we have Rob Wright come
- 28:45Speaker 6: and immediately when Rob Wright comes, obviously, like you guys mentioned,
- 28:49Speaker 6: Zoom was the first one. Doesn't mean Zoom was their
- 28:51Speaker 6: first choice, but Zoom was the first one on campus
- 28:54Speaker 6: before Rob. As far as between them two players, yes,
- 28:58Speaker 6: so we look at Rob though, did you guys remember
- 29:01Speaker 6: the narrative? As soon as Rob got there, this is great.
- 29:04Speaker 6: People wanted Rob. And then they said Rob and Tyrone
- 29:07Speaker 6: Stokes want to play together. That's what I heard. It
- 29:09Speaker 6: was like a rumor, okay. And the crazy thing is
- 29:16Speaker 6: Tyron and Rob have no history of playing together, but Zoom,
- 29:20Speaker 6: Diallo and Tyrone played aau together.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't know that really.
- 29:26Speaker 6: Yes, they played. I looked it up. They played for
- 29:31Speaker 6: prolific prep connection.
- 29:33Speaker 2: That's right, they did. You are correct.
- 29:37Speaker 6: Yeah, So these two guys have already been teammates, they've
- 29:40Speaker 6: been on the floor together. And I said earlier this
- 29:43Speaker 6: week that I felt like some of these other pieces
- 29:45Speaker 6: were waiting to see which guard or which player they
- 29:49Speaker 6: got that's gonna leave Kentucky as a floor general. And yes,
- 29:53Speaker 6: Rob Wright seems like the better piece on paper sometimes
- 29:56Speaker 6: and all that, but for the purpose of maybe and
- 30:00Speaker 6: I know it's still an outside shot and people think
- 30:03Speaker 6: he's gonna go ahead and go to Kansas or whatever.
- 30:06Speaker 6: But Zoom makes a better position here to get Tyrone
- 30:10Speaker 6: than what Rob White would have done because of his
- 30:13Speaker 6: connection already with Tyrone Stokes. So the puzzle piece is
- 30:18Speaker 6: starting to come together for me in the fact that
- 30:21Speaker 6: I know it. Chisa was going to take maybe another
- 30:22Speaker 6: week or two to decide the fact that Tyrone's not
- 30:25Speaker 6: just jumping all over to Kansas. I think he's still
- 30:28Speaker 6: saying something more for Kentucky. So I'm not I mean,
- 30:32Speaker 6: everybody's like giving up. This dude's an idiot. He's gonna
- 30:34Speaker 6: go and maybe I'm wrong. Guys, maybe he'll go that's fine.
- 30:37Speaker 7: Whatever.
- 30:37Speaker 6: We don't want to see that, we don't want to
- 30:39Speaker 6: hear that.
- 30:39Speaker 8: But if it.
- 30:39Speaker 6: Happens, it happens. I think the next piece to this puzzle,
- 30:44Speaker 6: I would be surprised if it was Stokes. I would
- 30:46Speaker 6: be surprised. I would be elated if it was Stokes.
- 30:49Speaker 6: He says I'm coming now, I'm ready, you know, And
- 30:51Speaker 6: here he is and he commits. That would be awesome.
- 30:54Speaker 6: I feel like someone like Donnie Freeman's next. And I
- 30:57Speaker 6: like Donny Freeman as a player. I think he's good. Also,
- 31:01Speaker 6: when you get Donnie Freeman, I think there's another guy
- 31:05Speaker 6: what is his name? He was going to go to
- 31:10Speaker 6: maybe take a visit to Indiana, And I think maybe
- 31:13Speaker 6: u L.
- 31:15Speaker 2: You're talking about Ran Justin Yes, the bastion ran Sick.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Go ahead, Justinick, who canceled his trip to IU.
- 31:27Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 6: I think after Donnie, maybe you see someone like him.
- 31:29Speaker 6: And a lot of people are dogging this guy. They're like, well,
- 31:31Speaker 6: he's one hundred and nineteen for one hundred and twenty
- 31:33Speaker 6: one in the transfer one hundred and one. Look, guys,
- 31:36Speaker 6: the guy's big, he's tall from what I can see
- 31:39Speaker 6: from his highlights, he can play some ball. So and
- 31:42Speaker 6: other schools were interested.
- 31:44Speaker 7: In this guy.
- 31:44Speaker 6: You know, I don't get it, Michael and Justin. I
- 31:48Speaker 6: know it's Kentucky, but if this guy goes to Indiana
- 31:51Speaker 6: or something, it's like, oh, look at IU getting another
- 31:53Speaker 6: great player. I'll look at them. They're building up. You know,
- 31:55Speaker 6: if Kentucky gets him, Oh it's a trash it's a trash.
- 31:58Speaker 6: Get it's all such a double standard. BS. If they
- 32:02Speaker 6: could get the player and he could go there, they
- 32:03Speaker 6: would want him and they would like him in their
- 32:05Speaker 6: fan base with year, but their fan base chirps their
- 32:07Speaker 6: mouth whenever they do decide to go somewhere else. The
- 32:10Speaker 6: guy season opening at a mecca and he's like, Oh,
- 32:14Speaker 6: I'm going to go to Kentucky because this is gonna
- 32:17Speaker 6: be I think it's gonna be a good year. I
- 32:19Speaker 6: think Zoom, you get Donnie. Maybe the Sebastian guy comes in.
- 32:22Speaker 6: Maybe maybe he does, maybe don't, But then you get
- 32:26Speaker 6: I think the big piece is Tyrone Stokes. Because Zoom
- 32:29Speaker 6: and Donnie, you get some other players. Yes they're on
- 32:31Speaker 6: the radar guys, but we all know what's the big
- 32:34Speaker 6: fish here. We know what it is, and you got
- 32:38Speaker 6: to get Tyrone Stokes. I think if you don't get
- 32:40Speaker 6: Tyrone Stokes, you're oh God, I hate to make this
- 32:44Speaker 6: announcement already and be like way off and they surprise
- 32:46Speaker 6: everyone next year. But I think without Tyrone Stokes you're
- 32:49Speaker 6: all round of thirty two, maybe sweet sixteen if you're
- 32:54Speaker 6: Lucky team. That's what I feel like, Yeah, what do
- 32:57Speaker 6: you think?
- 32:58Speaker 2: Yeah? I would agree with you right there, John, And
- 33:01Speaker 2: because you know, here's the difference, because you go back
- 33:05Speaker 2: to your whole point with Ransig, who yes, he did
- 33:10Speaker 2: cancel his trip to Indiana and decided to come over
- 33:13Speaker 2: to UK. But we've been used to a standard for
- 33:16Speaker 2: the last twelve or thirteen years where players, the top
- 33:20Speaker 2: players coming out of high school were coming to Kentucky.
- 33:23Speaker 2: So we're used to the big names. And now that
- 33:25Speaker 2: that's switched up because Mark Pope really honestly recruits a
- 33:31Speaker 2: different kind of player. It's not about bringing the top talent,
- 33:34Speaker 2: it's about bringing the right talent. And I think that's
- 33:38Speaker 2: the biggest difference, and we're not accustomed to that. So
- 33:40Speaker 2: just because a certain school about fifteen minutes away from
- 33:44Speaker 2: the studio right now, is getting the top transfers doesn't
- 33:49Speaker 2: necessarily they're gonna mesh well and create a great team.
- 33:53Speaker 2: It just means they got top talent come to the
- 33:55Speaker 2: u of L. That's it. So I think this is
- 33:59Speaker 2: where Mark Pope is. It's completely different. He's looking for
- 34:02Speaker 2: the right people. I am hoping. I am going to
- 34:05Speaker 2: be optimistic that fit to his scheme, that will work
- 34:10Speaker 2: well and be able to take this team to a
- 34:12Speaker 2: different level.
- 34:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:13Speaker 2: If UK does not get Tyron Stokes, I'm very nervous.
- 34:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna say, listen, they I think they're around the
- 34:24Speaker 2: thirty two team. If you want to ask me right now,
- 34:27Speaker 2: justin I'm looking in they're around to thirty two. What
- 34:29Speaker 2: do you think? I mean? It really is it.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I hate to say that a coaches job hinges on
- 34:35Speaker 3: a recruit, but it does kind of feel like if
- 34:38Speaker 3: you don't get Tyrone, that might be the end of
- 34:40Speaker 3: Mark Pope.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. Anything else before we let you go?
- 34:44Speaker 6: John, Yeah, I agree. I completely agree. You guys are right,
- 34:49Speaker 6: it's going to hinge on Tyron Stokes. And at the
- 34:52Speaker 6: end of the day, I saw a podcast where Tyron
- 34:57Speaker 6: Stokes was talking and he said he watched Kobe Bryant's
- 35:01Speaker 6: And now a lot of people don't say this about
- 35:03Speaker 6: Kobe Bryant's footwork, but Kobe Bryant's footwork when he would
- 35:07Speaker 6: dribble the ball, and how he was and how methodic
- 35:11Speaker 6: he was on every step that he took. And Tyrone
- 35:13Speaker 6: Stokes said, one of his last like the last part
- 35:16Speaker 6: of his high school career. There he didn't take as
- 35:19Speaker 6: many shots and he wasn't going as crazy as far
- 35:21Speaker 6: as trying to score all the time and just shooting anything.
- 35:25Speaker 6: He started to develop his footwork more. And this young
- 35:28Speaker 6: man was sitting there talking about this. So a lot
- 35:29Speaker 6: of people don't like his like his attitude where some
- 35:32Speaker 6: of it looks like he's a Madonna type guy, you know,
- 35:35Speaker 6: the star the whatever you want to call them, the princesses.
- 35:39Speaker 6: I think this guy is a young prince and he's
- 35:42Speaker 6: going to become a king of basketball, and I think
- 35:45Speaker 6: he's going to be a very good player. You can
- 35:46Speaker 6: see it in his face. The question is I think
- 35:50Speaker 6: his character's fine right now. I think he's going to
- 35:52Speaker 6: keep it in check. You go to Kansas with Bill self,
- 35:55Speaker 6: or you go with Mark Pope. Give Mark Pope a chance,
- 35:58Speaker 6: because I think Mark Pope no offense to Bill self,
- 36:01Speaker 6: and I don't know Bill selfs that well, so I
- 36:03Speaker 6: can't really say he doesn't have a good head on
- 36:05Speaker 6: the short of sas he's always had a good, pretty
- 36:06Speaker 6: good career. Not too much negative stuff going on as
- 36:10Speaker 6: far as we can say, like major, major things. But
- 36:13Speaker 6: Mark Pope seems to be the better guy to be,
- 36:16Speaker 6: even a better role model with Stokes. Not the Stokes
- 36:18Speaker 6: needs that. But I just think that's the next of
- 36:23Speaker 6: I guess evolution two Stokes game is the character development
- 36:27Speaker 6: into Now what can I show at the biggest stage.
- 36:31Speaker 6: Kansas is big, but Kentucky's bigger. So if you want
- 36:34Speaker 6: to show the NBA scouts even more and solidify that
- 36:37Speaker 6: number one spot, which I think the guy's number one overall,
- 36:39Speaker 6: pick you go to Kentucky. You got your teammate back
- 36:43Speaker 6: in zoom. I think if he goes, guys, now we
- 36:45Speaker 6: said thirty two. If he didn't go, if he goes
- 36:48Speaker 6: to Kentucky, it's lead eight or better. Oh, I agree,
- 36:51Speaker 6: lead eight or better.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I appreciate that. Go ahead.
- 36:55Speaker 6: No, that's it, guys, That's all I had say.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I always good here. I appreciate you calling in Jona Jeff.
- 36:59Speaker 2: But yeah, listen, if Tyrone Stokes does come to Kentucky, yes,
- 37:03Speaker 2: I agree, it's it's at least in the Leite eight
- 37:06Speaker 2: at that point, because I think Domino's will start falling
- 37:09Speaker 2: in and I bet there's a number of players that
- 37:11Speaker 2: are out there. Well, let me see if Tyron Stokes
- 37:14Speaker 2: comiss to Kentucky. If he doesn't, yeah, I might really
- 37:17Speaker 2: end up going to UK. So I think that is
- 37:20Speaker 2: the one bit a big get for Kansas and UK. Now,
- 37:25Speaker 2: the longer this goes on, does it fare well for
- 37:27Speaker 2: UK or does it fare better for Kansas?
- 37:32Speaker 3: I think Kentucky so do I. I think it fairs
- 37:35Speaker 3: better for UK. He had the quote earlier this week.
- 37:38Speaker 3: I don't know if it was directly from him, but
- 37:39Speaker 3: apparently Tyron's not big on Adidas shoes, which.
- 37:43Speaker 2: I get I told you that earlier this week.
- 37:45Speaker 3: If you look at an Adidas shoe versus a Nike shoe,
- 37:48Speaker 3: Nike shoes are way better looking.
- 37:49Speaker 2: That's just that's a fact. That's what we're basing his
- 37:51Speaker 2: decision on. His entire decision for going to school is
- 37:55Speaker 2: what shoe he's going to be, right.
- 37:56Speaker 3: And if you're if you've always been Nike. Yeah, and
- 37:59Speaker 3: you're you have plans to be with Nike in your
- 38:02Speaker 3: pro career. Why would you want to have a year
- 38:05Speaker 3: where you switch it up to something else.
- 38:06Speaker 2: It's exactly gonna make sense. So to me, does that
- 38:09Speaker 2: make sense? Then it's all about the money, and they're
- 38:11Speaker 2: just trying to figure out and negotiate how much money
- 38:14Speaker 2: he's going to be getting at UK. I don't know.
- 38:18Speaker 3: I still think there's some logistics that they're trying to
- 38:20Speaker 3: work out behind the scenes to maybe get around the
- 38:22Speaker 3: whole Adidas thing.
- 38:23Speaker 2: With Kansas. Yeah, I don't know. I don't. I don't.
- 38:25Speaker 2: I have no idea. I don't see how you get
- 38:28Speaker 2: around it. With Kansas. They are committed to Adidas. Yeah.
- 38:32Speaker 2: If there's an Adidas player out there that's considering Kentucky,
- 38:35Speaker 2: we are committed or university Kentucky's committed to Nike.
- 38:38Speaker 3: Yeah, But also changing Tyranne's also the type of player
- 38:41Speaker 3: that Adidas could potentially say, hey, well, let's let's work
- 38:45Speaker 3: with you on what you think is a good look
- 38:47Speaker 3: in Adidas shoe and give him some creative power. I
- 38:50Speaker 3: don't anticipate that's going to be the case, but they
- 38:52Speaker 3: could go that route.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, So all right, we gotta take another break.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Five O two three four fourteen fifty. If you want
- 38:58Speaker 2: to call in five oh two four one four fourteen
- 39:01Speaker 2: fifty one, text me on the Whiskey Deep text line,
- 39:03Speaker 2: which is filling up. We'll get to those texts as
- 39:05Speaker 2: soon as we get back. Stay right there. Just the
- 39:07Speaker 2: cats coming up right after this that quick. Then let
- 39:11Speaker 2: me say, you shake your shake. I want boom bo
- 39:33Speaker 2: b my bom bom boom boom boom b my boom
- 39:36Speaker 2: boom boom. Oh my gosh, man, who are you finding
- 39:48Speaker 2: stuff like this? This is a book, this is a
- 39:51Speaker 2: fat well. I'm embarrassed to tell you. I just there's
- 39:56Speaker 2: suiting certain genres of music that I don't care for.
- 39:59Speaker 2: I don't care for fifties music. Oh you're crazy. I
- 40:02Speaker 2: don't care for that. I don't care.
- 40:04Speaker 6: You know.
- 40:04Speaker 2: I don't like country music, and I don't some country
- 40:07Speaker 2: music I like. I can't say I don't like country
- 40:09Speaker 2: music in general, but uh yeah, I don't. I love
- 40:12Speaker 2: fifties music.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Really because it's like the inception, right, I mean, it's
- 40:16Speaker 3: that's when people were figuring out what's fun with music
- 40:20Speaker 3: what's good.
- 40:20Speaker 2: I think that song's fun. I like quartets, you know,
- 40:24Speaker 2: you know, back in the day, they used to have quartets,
- 40:27Speaker 2: and you know, they famously have one singing the national
- 40:30Speaker 2: anthem in the movie The Hoosiers, and uh, they used
- 40:34Speaker 2: to have a big festival here I think in Louisville
- 40:37Speaker 2: where it was a quartet festival. It just didn't do
- 40:40Speaker 2: anything for me. I yeah, not my style. But anyway,
- 40:45Speaker 2: Zach texted out five two four one four fourteen fifty
- 40:48Speaker 2: whiskey def text line did Pope try to kiss Rob Wright?
- 40:52Speaker 8: No?
- 40:52Speaker 2: We did. Why would you ask a question.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Like you haven't heard that rumor? Come on, that's the
- 40:57Speaker 3: rumor why the Rob Wright's ended up choosing BYU. Apparently
- 41:02Speaker 3: Pope tried to kiss him.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Come on. I don't know if there's any truth to it.
- 41:05Speaker 3: I don't know where that came from, but yeah, that's
- 41:08Speaker 3: been the scuttle book.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't buy that. One person said, uh, well,
- 41:14Speaker 2: come on, man, here we go again. I just what
- 41:18Speaker 2: is the deal with this stinking text line? This is embarrassing.
- 41:22Speaker 2: So all right, Scoots, tell them you're you're playing the
- 41:27Speaker 2: women's teas, so you're going back to our conversation beginning
- 41:31Speaker 2: of the show. You unaware, uh clothes like women on
- 41:35Speaker 2: the golf course A what was it a collarless or
- 41:39Speaker 2: cutoff or collared cutoff? Okay, a collared cutoff, which is
- 41:42Speaker 2: non existent in women's clothes. It's designed that way our
- 41:45Speaker 2: men's clothes. But I would agree with them just telling
- 41:48Speaker 2: me playing for the women's teas. And I mean, it's
- 41:51Speaker 2: twenty twenty six. I can be whatever I want to be, right, Yeah, well,
- 41:55Speaker 2: yeah you can be. I don't suggest you do that,
- 41:57Speaker 2: but you certainly can be one person's uh Texan. I
- 42:01Speaker 2: feel like something happened with Pope and Goodman. He crushed
- 42:05Speaker 2: Pope and Kentucky all day yesterday. He really did. I
- 42:09Speaker 2: don't know if you saw him on national uh are
- 42:12Speaker 2: are on the social media yesterday, but Jeff Goodman was
- 42:15Speaker 2: all over Mark Pope's and he was the start of
- 42:18Speaker 2: all the national media. You're talking about Kentucky and Mark Pope.
- 42:22Speaker 2: That's strategic. Why do you say it's strategic, because that's
- 42:25Speaker 2: a very particular word for you to use.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Because Mark, uh, Jeff Goodman knows the power that Kentucky
- 42:32Speaker 3: has and and BBN and that if he just writes
- 42:34Speaker 3: one word about Kentucky, He's gonna get all kinds of clicks,
- 42:38Speaker 3: gonna get all us He's okay, like he's I liking
- 42:42Speaker 3: this to him using Kentucky for exposure, That's that's kind
- 42:47Speaker 3: of what it feels like.
- 42:48Speaker 2: To because he knows that there are certain programs out
- 42:52Speaker 2: there that will he will gain attention from. I'm saying
- 42:55Speaker 2: certain things you can wat Kentucky is one of those.
- 42:58Speaker 3: You can blow up Chicago and all all day today
- 43:01Speaker 3: or Loyal or nobody's gonna say anything, but it's Kentucky
- 43:04Speaker 3: you're going after.
- 43:05Speaker 2: And he knows that. Who are those schools that that
- 43:08Speaker 2: will happen immediately? Kentucky and Duke. Oh, those are the
- 43:12Speaker 2: only two. I mean there would be there's North Carolina.
- 43:15Speaker 2: You don't think Kansas, maybe Kentucky and.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Duke Maybe Kansas, maybe North Carolina, but no, I mean
- 43:23Speaker 3: the two that would go after him the most would
- 43:25Speaker 3: be Kentucky. And that's for basketball for sure. Football, Ohio State, yes,
- 43:31Speaker 3: those guys cry out everything. Tennessee probably yep. I think
- 43:36Speaker 3: Alabama is one of those. It's probably more Southeastern schools
- 43:42Speaker 3: than it is Big Ten schools. I think you're right
- 43:46Speaker 3: on Ohio State, But anybody else in the Big ten.
- 43:50Speaker 3: I don't think Michigan really goes crazy as much as
- 43:55Speaker 3: the schools that we have mentioned. Maybe at Georgia, Maybe
- 44:00Speaker 3: what about a Clemson. Clemson probably so because you know
- 44:04Speaker 3: Dabbo would be leading that charge. Oh you got that
- 44:07Speaker 3: would be me.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Do you think they're getting sick of Dabo Sweeny and Clemson?
- 44:11Speaker 2: I kind of get the impression that they are. What
- 44:13Speaker 2: the results he's had, I'd say probably, and it's deserved.
- 44:17Speaker 2: So I think outside of those schools, I don't think
- 44:20Speaker 2: there's anybody else. I don't think there's anybody out west.
- 44:23Speaker 4: Uh.
- 44:24Speaker 2: I don't think there's anybody in the Northeast because they
- 44:26Speaker 2: don't care about college football. They care about the NFL.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Maybe USC, but they've been so pulled for the last decade. No,
- 44:34Speaker 2: I don't know you're talking Southern cal correct. Sorry, yeah,
- 44:38Speaker 2: because you say USC, that's the University of South South Carolina.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Well, South Carolina did beat or South California did beat
- 44:46Speaker 3: Southern California did beat South Carolina for the UFC USC name,
- 44:50Speaker 3: so oh they did?
- 44:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 44:52Speaker 3: Remember when they played Winter got USC.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Oh, that's right, I forgot. You're right about that good, good,
- 44:58Speaker 2: good call right there. One person said, good points by
- 45:01Speaker 2: both of you. I will go a step further on
- 45:05Speaker 2: the transfer portal. I'm afraid that in Cuba basketball will
- 45:08Speaker 2: become a euro League and world training ground. Now that
- 45:12Speaker 2: ball is global, there are a lot of athletes ready
- 45:16Speaker 2: to take scholarships from US kids. Yeah, fantastic point. I
- 45:22Speaker 2: don't know if I can disagree with you at all.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Right, but how many of those European guys worked out
- 45:28Speaker 3: this year? You know, like Indiana had I think three
- 45:31Speaker 3: of them on their roster. All of them are transferring.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Kentucky lost Yellovich. I mean, Yellovich was okay, but if
- 45:37Speaker 3: you can't keep him for more than a year, then
- 45:39Speaker 3: what's the point in bringing him in.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Well that's true of any player out there, though. If
- 45:42Speaker 2: you can't, what differences make sure? And those europlayers really
- 45:47Speaker 2: don't care. I mean they're probably traveling every year anyway,
- 45:51Speaker 2: even if they stayed in Europe, they're traveling. I think
- 45:54Speaker 2: it's a great point. You're right. In Cuba and college
- 45:59Speaker 2: basketball could become a EuroLeague, and it just that will
- 46:06Speaker 2: be even more of a downfall for college sports. I mean, well,
- 46:10Speaker 2: we get to a point where why do I want
- 46:12Speaker 2: to watch college I'll just watch NBA instead because it's
- 46:15Speaker 2: more consistent. No, you don't think so. No, I don't
- 46:20Speaker 2: think it'll happen in football. I think there will be
- 46:23Speaker 2: certain sections of the United States that it's more college
- 46:26Speaker 2: than it is pro just like it's vice versa in
- 46:30Speaker 2: certain sections of the country too.
- 46:33Speaker 3: I don't know that you're ever gonna get more Europeans
- 46:37Speaker 3: than we're getting now, though.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Yeah, one person said, Scoot's excitement for Michael returning sounded
- 46:43Speaker 2: like when Michael realized holesopple has fresh beer.
- 46:47Speaker 7: You do.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Exactly?
- 46:50Speaker 4: That is it?
- 46:51Speaker 2: That is it you do? That's about food, though, I
- 46:55Speaker 2: mean it wasn't fresh beer. It was yeah, no, the
- 46:59Speaker 2: commercial it's beer. Yeah No, we also have the president beer,
- 47:03Speaker 2: you do. I've heard that commercial eight million times.
- 47:07Speaker 8: I know.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Okay, we now have been well, okay, fine, I get
- 47:11Speaker 2: all right, whatever you say. Uh, but we'll get to
- 47:14Speaker 2: more of your Texa as soon as we get back
- 47:16Speaker 2: an hour two so we uh when we come back, though,
- 47:19Speaker 2: I do want to talk about some live because Big
- 47:22Speaker 2: News they had a big meeting yesterday and what's happening
- 47:25Speaker 2: there and then we found out what the big meeting
- 47:29Speaker 2: was our announcement was here in Louisville yesterday, which I
- 47:32Speaker 2: want to talk about that as well. So stay right there.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Our two coming up of Michael Bennett in Louisville, Kentucky
- 47:39Speaker 2: coming up right now.
- 47:40Speaker 1: So welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 48:07Speaker 2: I WoT two three eight four fourteen fifty went to
- 48:10Speaker 2: call if I WoT two four to one four fourteen
- 48:11Speaker 2: fifty want a textan on the whizzyp text line. So
- 48:15Speaker 2: we did talk about it briefly a few minutes ago
- 48:18Speaker 2: about the Colorado transfer six to eleven forward Sebastian Ransick.
- 48:23Speaker 2: How did that make you feel when you heard that
- 48:25Speaker 2: he canceled a trip to IU to come to UK.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Literally zero emotions really, I mean Indiana the day before
- 48:32Speaker 3: just got a seven to two guy from SMU, So
- 48:35Speaker 3: it's like they're not hurting for size. They've got a
- 48:38Speaker 3: freshman from this last year's team that's gonna be a
- 48:40Speaker 3: sophomore coming back. He's six sixteen to six eleven, so
- 48:44Speaker 3: they're gonna be fine size wise. There was a lot
- 48:46Speaker 3: of buzz for Ranchets going to Indiana, but yeah, I
- 48:50Speaker 3: wasn't affected when I saw that it was canceled.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Yeah, well, averages twelve points to game, five rebounds. I'm
- 48:55Speaker 2: kind of surprised by the five rebounds per game. But
- 48:58Speaker 2: I think the biggest highlight with him is that he's
- 49:01Speaker 2: shot thirty three percent from three last season. It's amazing
- 49:07Speaker 2: how they're letting these players really shoot. Doesn't matter what
- 49:09Speaker 2: size they are, They're just letting them shoot from everywhere
- 49:12Speaker 2: successfully as well.
- 49:13Speaker 3: That guy's gonna be a tricky spot to fill for Kentucky,
- 49:17Speaker 3: right because anybody that's going to come in probably knows
- 49:22Speaker 3: and has the landscape of Malachai Moreno coming back for
- 49:25Speaker 3: his sophomore season, and all likelihood he would. I would
- 49:29Speaker 3: imagine he's going to be the starter coming into next season.
- 49:32Speaker 3: So if you're looking at these big guys, you've got
- 49:35Speaker 3: to look at a guy that is gonna be okay
- 49:37Speaker 3: coming in off the bench. I don't know if that's
- 49:39Speaker 3: Ranches or not.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Well, the only bad part is that you know after
- 49:42Speaker 2: his trip to Lexington, he's headed to BYU.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Jesus, we're starting a serious rivalry here.
- 49:49Speaker 2: I think so too. I mean, it's got to be
- 49:52Speaker 2: a serious sore on Mark Pope's backside. Get BYU on
- 49:57Speaker 2: the schedule we we have to do. See I think
- 50:00Speaker 2: so too. I just man, I don't understand what's going
- 50:05Speaker 2: on other than by N's just handed out just bags
- 50:08Speaker 2: of cash to come there. And if you're if listen,
- 50:11Speaker 2: if you're considering UK, come over here, and we're going
- 50:14Speaker 2: to give you even more bags of cash because we
- 50:16Speaker 2: want to get back at our former coach for leaving.
- 50:20Speaker 2: That's kind of how I feel. I mean, it almost
- 50:22Speaker 2: feels like it's a vendetta for BYU to get back
- 50:26Speaker 2: at Mark Pope.
- 50:27Speaker 3: It's just weird that people are choosing BYU, Like you
- 50:30Speaker 3: have so many restrictions on that campus. You can't drink,
- 50:34Speaker 3: you can't have extra curricular activities late at night, like.
- 50:37Speaker 2: There's there's so many things. A quarterback that went to
- 50:40Speaker 2: Tulane exactly. The quarterback says, you forget this, I'm out
- 50:43Speaker 2: of here. I'm going to tu Lane and had a
- 50:45Speaker 2: great season there. I like drinking and shacking up, like
- 50:49Speaker 2: I can't do that at BYU. Come on, PG, Okay,
- 50:54Speaker 2: this is not P thirteen. Oh my gosh, mom, with
- 50:59Speaker 2: this shacking up mean, I mean, I can see the
- 51:02Speaker 2: text right now. Lock yourself in your room. I'll never
- 51:05Speaker 2: forget the time I had a lady callin Michael, I
- 51:08Speaker 2: do have kids in the car that are listening to
- 51:10Speaker 2: the show as well. Please don't say that kind of
- 51:12Speaker 2: stuff again. And her son was asking, what does this mean?
- 51:16Speaker 7: Mom?
- 51:17Speaker 2: It's like a great man. I'm so sorry. That's only
- 51:19Speaker 2: happened to me one time, has it? Really? Yeah, it's
- 51:22Speaker 2: happened to me. I just you know, I don't know.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Shack it up? What does that literally mean?
- 51:28Speaker 4: Now?
- 51:28Speaker 2: Where does that come from? Anyways?
- 51:30Speaker 7: Oh?
- 51:31Speaker 2: I hope so, but I want to know where that
- 51:35Speaker 2: came from and how it came up. Shack up, because
- 51:38Speaker 2: I know what you mean, but you know, I just
- 51:40Speaker 2: I just like the orientation of it. One person texted in,
- 51:43Speaker 2: I brought this up on Brother Show yesterday about Lowell's
- 51:47Speaker 2: recruiting for next season. To me, it's reminiscent of Poke
- 51:51Speaker 2: this past season, where he's overcompensating for lack of physicality
- 51:57Speaker 2: this season and so far he's sacrificing. So I wonder
- 52:01Speaker 2: if PK getting away from what he's traditionally done with
- 52:05Speaker 2: well backfire on him the way that Pope did this
- 52:08Speaker 2: past season. I listen, I think that's an incredible point
- 52:14Speaker 2: to bring up and valid. I'd like to know what
- 52:17Speaker 2: Mike Brutherford had to say, because it could completely back
- 52:22Speaker 2: You know, everybody's so excited about U of L right now.
- 52:25Speaker 2: They're number one, ranked number one in the transfer portal
- 52:29Speaker 2: right now, and I predict they'll stay that way, or
- 52:32Speaker 2: at least they'll be in the top two or three.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Last I saw is Indiana, Oh, for basketball? Indiana.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Last I looked, Indiana was number one transfer portal for
- 52:41Speaker 3: basketball and football.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Really yeah, I didn't see that. Okay, well, the last
- 52:47Speaker 2: time I look was this morning, So you tell me
- 52:49Speaker 2: right now yesterday? So okay, all right then, uh but
- 52:53Speaker 2: I listen, that is a concern when you get away
- 52:57Speaker 2: from your coaching style, more times than not, it's going
- 53:01Speaker 2: to backfire. Justin so. I think that is because this
- 53:05Speaker 2: is a lot of people are saying this is a
- 53:06Speaker 2: big year for Mark Pope. I think they're quickly forgetting
- 53:11Speaker 2: this is a big year, even more so for Pat Kelsey.
- 53:16Speaker 2: I mean for both of them. Yeah, it is for
- 53:18Speaker 2: both of them. But when you're getting the top players
- 53:20Speaker 2: in the country, I think the heat's on you even more.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Whereas Mark Pope's not getting those players, heat's not on
- 53:28Speaker 2: as much, but I still think the heat is on.
- 53:31Speaker 3: But I think with Pat Kelsey bringing in those types
- 53:34Speaker 3: of players, I do think that's gonna be less heat
- 53:37Speaker 3: because even if it doesn't work out, you're still proving
- 53:40Speaker 3: that you can bring the best of the best talent
- 53:43Speaker 3: to Louisville. So that would, in my opinion, I think
- 53:46Speaker 3: that would give him a little bit of a longer
- 53:48Speaker 3: leash from the fan base, just knowing, Hey, it just
- 53:50Speaker 3: didn't work out this year, but at least he brought
- 53:52Speaker 3: those guys in.
- 53:53Speaker 2: I think there's more heat when you bring those kinds
- 53:55Speaker 2: of players in. Just like the example is Mark Pope.
- 53:59Speaker 2: You brought all those player and it didn't work out.
- 54:02Speaker 2: You spent the most money in the United States, it
- 54:04Speaker 2: didn't work out. The heat is on Mark Pope. So
- 54:07Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be on just as much or
- 54:10Speaker 2: more with Pat Kelsey bringing all these great players, spending
- 54:13Speaker 2: all this money. If it doesn't work out this next year,
- 54:16Speaker 2: I don't think there'll be a third year Pat Kelsey. Oh,
- 54:19Speaker 2: I bet there is, do you really And that's the difference.
- 54:24Speaker 2: If it doesn't work out this year with Mark Pope's
- 54:27Speaker 2: I don't see a world where he comes back if
- 54:29Speaker 2: it doesn't work out with Pat Kelsey, like I was saying,
- 54:31Speaker 2: I think there's gonna be a longer lease. They'll bring
- 54:33Speaker 2: him back for a fourth year. Buzz texadent Cooper Flagg
- 54:36Speaker 2: signed with New Balance while a duke. If I'm not mistaken,
- 54:39Speaker 2: I didn't remember that. That's a good point. Of course,
- 54:42Speaker 2: he was very young and the same rules probably didn't
- 54:45Speaker 2: apply to him. Do you know he was only seventeen
- 54:47Speaker 2: when he was in college. Yeah? Crazy, Yeah, his youngest
- 54:50Speaker 2: player in the country, and that his twin brother is
- 54:53Speaker 2: has absolutely zero talent compared. How'd you like to be
- 54:57Speaker 2: the twin brother? Wonder how he is doing? I don't know. Oh,
- 55:00Speaker 2: but wouldn't that just that was well? You know, Cooper
- 55:02Speaker 2: Flags playing for one of the greatest teams in the NBA.
- 55:05Speaker 2: It's like, oh my gosh, man, how do you use that?
- 55:08Speaker 2: That's the problem with being the number of draft pick
- 55:10Speaker 2: in the NBA. You're going to the worst team. That's
- 55:13Speaker 2: what happened to John Wall. I mean, if John Wall
- 55:16Speaker 2: hadn't have been the number one pick, he would have
- 55:20Speaker 2: probably played for a lot better team ahead a more successful,
- 55:24Speaker 2: well known career. I agree with that. Tim Couch is
- 55:27Speaker 2: the same way Tim Couch goes as one of the
- 55:30Speaker 2: top picks in the NFL, goes to the Browns, and
- 55:32Speaker 2: that was not the Cleveland Browns of old. That was
- 55:35Speaker 2: a brand new Cleveland Browns with the same old name.
- 55:38Speaker 2: And that's why he got injured. In his career was
- 55:42Speaker 2: not very long.
- 55:44Speaker 3: Cooper's twin last year at Maine averaged six point seven
- 55:48Speaker 3: points per game and four rebounds. Poor guy Maine. Yeah,
- 55:52Speaker 3: poor guy. I mean that's really that they are not.
- 55:58Speaker 3: They are not twins. To me, it would be hard
- 56:02Speaker 3: growing up, especially a twin, because everybody thinks, oh, you
- 56:06Speaker 3: got to be just as good. It's like the Boozers.
- 56:08Speaker 3: I mean, Cayden's not nearly the Cameron. Is that must
- 56:12Speaker 3: And why did.
- 56:13Speaker 2: They take him because of the fact that he's boozers
- 56:15Speaker 2: twin brother. Of course he's going to take him. It
- 56:18Speaker 2: was a waste of a scholarship. Boy. People are really
- 56:22Speaker 2: coming down hard on Lebron now because of Bronni speaking
- 56:26Speaker 2: of having famous relatives. Is it deserved how hard they're
- 56:31Speaker 2: being on Bronni. Probably so it is. He's not. I
- 56:34Speaker 2: know I'm biased, but I want to ask you, because
- 56:38Speaker 2: you're a Lebron James Fan. I think it's deserved, and
- 56:42Speaker 2: I think it's ridiculous that the Lakers are allowing this
- 56:46Speaker 2: to happen. All of this will go away and lebron
- 56:50Speaker 2: will be redeemed when Bryce gets out he redshirted at
- 56:54Speaker 2: Arizona this year. Bryce is gonna be awesome make up
- 57:00Speaker 2: for Bronnie, I'm guessing. So you're sure of that, Yeah,
- 57:04Speaker 2: I mean everybody that I'm I mean, any quotes that
- 57:07Speaker 2: I've seen about it. Everybody says Bryce is better than Brownie. Okay,
- 57:10Speaker 2: John here, Hey, John's back, Hey, justin you were right.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Adidas could say, let's make you the deal shoe, Let's
- 57:25Speaker 2: make you the ideal shoe just for you. But the
- 57:28Speaker 2: Nike could do the same, and that is the shoe
- 57:31Speaker 2: company he loves. So that idea could be a wash
- 57:34Speaker 2: for Kansas and a big dream idea. You might have
- 57:37Speaker 2: just given Coach Pope Nike and BBN. So there you go.
- 57:42Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 57:43Speaker 3: Nike doesn't have to do anything because he already likes
- 57:45Speaker 3: Nike shoes, whereas Adidas has to bend over backwards to
- 57:49Speaker 3: try to figure out if there's anything they can do
- 57:51Speaker 3: and design one that maybe he doesn't think looks all
- 57:54Speaker 3: that bad.
- 57:54Speaker 2: They may have thought about it behind the scenes, but
- 57:57Speaker 2: you spoke it into the reality of life. Why wait
- 58:01Speaker 2: until he is drafted. If I was Kentucky and Nike,
- 58:05Speaker 2: I would start making his own shoe right now and
- 58:07Speaker 2: sell them like hotcakes. Yeah, I'm right there with Who
- 58:11Speaker 2: was it that just recently got a shoe deal? In college?
- 58:15Speaker 2: There was somebody that was I can't remember who it was. Yeah, Well,
- 58:19Speaker 2: is there a brand out there that you absolutely refuse
- 58:24Speaker 2: to be a part of?
- 58:28Speaker 3: Not really, unless I'm I mean no mean, because I
- 58:33Speaker 3: would rock Converse, I'd rock Puma, Nike, Adidas New Balance.
- 58:37Speaker 3: I'm kind of a little skeptical on because I've always
- 58:39Speaker 3: viewed that as like an old man shoe. But they're
- 58:42Speaker 3: coming back New Balances, or they're coming back, they're about
- 58:45Speaker 3: to be popular.
- 58:46Speaker 2: I just don't see. Well, Okay, when I think of Nike,
- 58:49Speaker 2: I think of basketball. When I think of Adidas, I
- 58:53Speaker 2: think of soccer. When I think of Puma, I think
- 58:58Speaker 2: of baseball. I think when I think of a New Balance,
- 59:03Speaker 2: I think of aerobics instructors. That's exactly what I think of,
- 59:07Speaker 2: and I can't get it out of my mind. I think, oh,
- 59:09Speaker 2: that's a CrossFit. You do aerobics, don't you? Jazzer size teacher? Okay,
- 59:14Speaker 2: you're a fifty year old jazzer. My well, I gotta
- 59:17Speaker 2: watch out because my cousin still does jazzer size. She
- 59:20Speaker 2: teaches a Nashville, Tennessee jazzer size. I love her to death.
- 59:25Speaker 2: That would cracks me up that she still does that.
- 59:27Speaker 2: I would think of that being more sketchers. Sketchers, that's
- 59:32Speaker 2: another one. Got on your feet all day? All right,
- 59:34Speaker 2: all right, sketchers. I only think of Dale Romo, Dale Romo.
- 59:41Speaker 2: What's Romo's name? The quarterback Tony Roe? Yeah? Dale. Oh,
- 59:45Speaker 2: I'm thinking Dale Romans. I'm trying to put two people together.
- 59:48Speaker 2: I think of Tony Romo. When I hear sketchers, It's like,
- 59:51Speaker 2: that is the oldest man take I've ever heard. Because
- 59:54Speaker 2: you don't even have to tie your shoe, you just
- 59:56Speaker 2: slip him on. That is convenient. I mean, that is
- 59:59Speaker 2: old man right there. It is gotta make sure you
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: have a shoehorn, would I see bel crow or the
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: fact that the biggest selling part of their shoe is
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: that you just slip them on. That is the biggest
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: old man take. And Tony Romo has turned into an
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: old man. Okay, that's tell me I'm not wrong about that. Sketchers.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Sketchers has a basketball shoe that's worn in the NBA.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Please tell me that's wrong. No way, yeah no, I'd
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: be surprised to find that out. But when I relate
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: to those shoes, that's each sport. That's what I relate to.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Even though the funny part is with the Adidas. I
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: used to wear Adidas in high school for basketball. Oh
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: oh my gosh.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: What Joel Embiid, Julius Randall, and Terrence Mann all wear
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Sketchers basketball shoes. God, there is the most surprising thing
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: I've heard all day. Julius Randall is in the league
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Rock and Sketchers.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but that's embarrassing. That just is Julius. We
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: gotta talk. Okay, let's get you. They are paying him
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: a lot of money to wear Sketchers. Okay, does that's
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: is terrible? Does he slip them on? And when he
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: goes for a fast break? Do they slip off? I mean,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: I just look at you, or please stop wearing Sketchers.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: I was not expecting Google, It'll be like, yes, Sketchers
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: are in the NBA.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: They are in the NBA. That's hilarious, Okay, forty eight
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: handle He said, Uh, Brooks is a running shoe. See,
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: I agree with that. Brooks is a running shoe. Yep.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: I like Brooks. They're they're they're comfortable shoes. But all right,
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: do you foresee hokah? I don't know being in basketball,
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: absolutely not. What do you consider hokah? Hokah to me
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: is just a comfortable, casual walking shoe.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: I mean, Hokah's can be used. They're They're like a
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: multipurpose shoe. You could wear those bad boys hi hiking.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: I see the most popular shoes right now amongst a
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: certain age and gender. Uh, Hokahs. And on Cloud, I
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: see Hokahs more on men, and I see on Cloud
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: more on women. On Cloud they're supposed to be really comfortable. Yes, exactly,
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: that's the whole point of it, all right, So I
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: want to look at him. Last year, are you ready
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: for this? I went to a particular store here in town,
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: and I go try them on, and my wife saw, oh, Michael,
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: you gotta try the Hokahs. You gotta try the on cloud.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: They're the most comfortable shoes. Out there. So I tried
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: the Hokahs and the lady brought the on Cloud but
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: she said, sir, these might not work out for you.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: And I'm like, really, why is that? She goes, I
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: don't want to say. I'm like, wait a minute, now,
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: just be you brought it up and you're not You're
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: now not going to tell me. She looks at my wife.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: She goes, I don't want to say. I don't want
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: to hurt your feelings. And I'm like, ma'am, all my
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: life I've been hurt, but you randomly saying something it's
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: not gonna hurt my fans. Well, she said people of
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: a certain weight.
- 1:03:08Speaker 7: She did.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: She said, people of a certain weight don't like the
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: uncloud shoes over time because the uncloud shrinks because of
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: your weight. Oh my god, she told me. I said,
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: so you're telling me I'm fat, and she her face
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: turned really red. She looked at my wife. She wouldn't
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: look at me anymore. I said, I can't believe, where's
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: your manager? You're telling me I'm fat. I started teasing her.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: I don't think she liked it. That's hilarious, but yes,
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: she told me fat people shouldn't wear on clouds because
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: you lose the on cloud part. Not a good shoes
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: sales No.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: Actually, it reminds me a lot of a situation I
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: had a couple of weeks ago when I was doing
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: my remote broadcast at is location. Yes, one of the
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: sales ladies she was like, this other lady was looking
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: at a pair of shoes, which happened to be the
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: pair that the sales lady had on. Yeah, and she
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: was like, Oh, they're really really comfortable, but if you
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: if you're on your feet for like three or four hours,
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: they'll start to hurt.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: And I'm like, what kind of sales ladies?
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Horrible sales job?
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: I like that.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: I like when they're honest. So the fact that this
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: girl told me I'm fat and those shoes wouldn't be
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: good for me, I loved her for it. I went
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: with a hokah, and I will say, hokahs are some
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn to I'm
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: kind of goofy looking. I don't care if they're goofy looking.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: I want comfort. You think the shoes I wear goofy.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: Looking hokahs are And I'm not specifically talking about yours,
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: but Hokahs are kind of goofy looking.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: Yeah, huh okay, I'll wear them in tomorrow and you
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: tell me if they're goofy looking. I can tell you
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: they are. I think they're nice looking. One person said,
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: New Balance and Nike air Monarchs real big in the
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: corvette communities. What you mean we have driving shoes? Seriously,
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: I don't know what to say. New Balance and Nike
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Air Monarchs are big in corvette communities. Josh, I didn't
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: sign up for this today. Just never knew I would
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: be hearing something like this. The Saudis are usually big
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: into shiny new pennies they got. They get giddy about
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: it and then get bored. They really don't care about
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: the money. The drag racing story is spot on. Is
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: this for me? Ooh? This is for you?
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: I'm sorry about that anyway. Forty eight Handley said Chuck
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Taylor's Chuck Taylor's people wear a lot today. They're popular
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: with young ladies. I think those are the most ridiculous
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: looking shoes. I mean it's Converse, right, Yes, it's Converse.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Converse is in the NBA. Are they back? Yeah, they're back.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: I didn't know that. Yeah, I remember that used to
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: be the shoe of choice at University Kentucky. It's all
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: they wore. I mean, I can still see cal Macy,
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Jack Gibbons, Groby, Mike Phillips, all of them, Truman playter you.
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: I can go through the whole list of the nineteen
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: seventy eighteen Levon Williams and they wore Converse. I've got,
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: in fact, I've got a painting the friend of mine
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: painted that was distributed after that championship team and they
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: had the basketball at the UK uniform and Converse shoes.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: They look good. They're just I don't like them that
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: much anymore. They really, I haven't seen them. They're in
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: they're good.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: I mean, they still look the same, but they're just
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: a good old school shoes.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: Josh just sent a picture of the shoes that guys
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: wear that drive corvettes. Okay, Nikes. They are hilarious looking.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: They kind of look like old man shoes. Josh, I'm
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: just gonna tell you. I hate to tell you, but
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: I don't know what Nike air Monarchs. I mean, it
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: sounds like a nineteen fifties band. So you know you
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: were talking about the Monarchs. Isn't that a band from
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: the nineteen fifties or sixties. Yeah, and New Bounce. Okay,
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: I guess they're famous to them. Michelle texted out, I
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: wear Hokahs makes you look two inches taller. You want
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: to try them? Justin there you go. Michelle is right,
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: they do. They do have a lift in them, a
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: natural lift between you and Pat Kelsey. Y'all should now
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: wear hokahs, Thanks Michelle. Yes, that'll make a guy feel
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: good on Thursday. That's fantastic. You need to get some
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: Hokahs for the hype value, Okay. Those one is go
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: out and buy some platform. Well, I'm telling you, once
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: you try on a pair of Hokahs, you're gonna be like,
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: where have I been? I've missed, I've missed the boat
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: on this. I need this trend. Tell you what, you
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: go out and buy me a pair of rock them.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: It's all about me buying you. So it's not that
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: wasn't specifically to you. I was talking to everyone. Okay,
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: all right, dan uh, we gotta take another break five
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: O two three eight four fourteen fifty five two four
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: one four fourteen fifty Listen. I love the text line
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: when we talk about random stuff and I'm enjoying this
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: even more right now. The whole shoe topic has really
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: got me going. Keep it up. Five O two four
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: one four fourteen four one four fourteen fifty. Take a break,
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: We'll be right back. Stay right there. This is just
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: a cat speaking of cars.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: Yeah, soon soon, soon soon. It maybe just a Foos dreamer,
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: but I don't care.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Is this lineel? No? Is that line of rich Commodoreesmodore?
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: That's Lionel Richie. Yeah, I didn't know Lionel Richie was
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: the lead singer the originally Commodore. You didn't know that, Okay?
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: I thought you knew all about music, I know all
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: the words. Yeah, oh okay, I got you. Yeah, that's
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Lionel Richie singing right there. I love the Commodoores salon.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I mean, they're all kinds of Really, she's a brick house,
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: I mean. Oh yeah. Commodorees are one of my all
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: time favorites. Uh back from that genre, oh yeah, between
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: them and Earth Wind and Fire. Oh, they have a
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: song named Zoom, so they're in the playoff and that's
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: the Zoom Yeah yeah, okay, I like the other Zoom songs.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: That's not the upbeat zoom that I was expecting right there,
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: But that's what you get. Yeah, forty eight handily said
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: grooms where duck boots bathing horses keeps their feet drop. Yeah,
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: I had. I used to have a pair of I
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: still have a pair of duck boots. I love duck boots.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: They're coming. In fact, I wore them to uh Norway.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: They're rated up to like ninety minus forty degrees or
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: sixty degrees. I think sixty. Yeah, pretty good. Yeah, they
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: were pretty good. All right, let's talk about a little
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: bit about golf. What's happening to Live justin hopefully it's
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: falling apart. Officials from the tour have been asked to
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: come to New York for an emergency meeting. Who I mean,
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: does anyone besides the players and the people that own
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: this and invested a lot of money in this business,
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: does anyone wanted to survive outside of Live I would
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: say no. Does anybody watch Live Golf? I would also
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: say no, cause you know they spent Are you ready
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: for this? The total investment to right now? Have you
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: seen how much it is? Yeah? Five point three billion with.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: A B as in boy, I mean, they spend one
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: point two billion a year. They experised.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Out of the fifty eight golfers they expect by the
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: end this year, they would have spent six billion dollars.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: That's amazing right there. Now. If it does go defunct,
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: do you think the PGA golfers will welcome them back.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: I don't know that, I see I don't either. That
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: could potentially be a lot of fun. I think there's
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: obviously some guys on the live that haven't burned any
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: bridges that they would welcome back with open arms. But
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: there's obviously other guys that are they're gonna look down
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: upon because hey, you left us to go chase your
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: four hundred million or whatever it was. But it would
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: ultimately put PGA back in the best spot possible with
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: the best talent in the world.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: So I'm hopeful it does full. I think it'll make
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: the PGA even more popular because people people will be
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: expecting sparks. Yeah, and I think there will be sparks,
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: and I think it'll be fantastic. It will be must
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: watch golf for me and I if it win, I
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: don't think it's a matter if it happens. I think
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: it's a matter of winning. I don't think live survives.
- 1:12:02Speaker 7: No.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: What how much live golf have you watched? None?
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: None?
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: Maybe I've made it since its inception. I've maybe seen
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: like three holes, that's about it.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: I probably I don't know if it was three holes
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: or not. I'd probably watched less than five minutes of
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: live golf. As soon as I saw the shorts, It's like,
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: this is weird.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: I like the I mean, I don't have any issues
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: with the shorts, but like the music Dren like I don't.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: When I go out in golf, people always ask me
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: do you want music or not? I don't really care.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: I can personally golf either way. But if I'm watching
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: a big time golf tournament on TV, do I want
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: to hear music in the background. Absolutely not.
- 1:12:40Speaker 7: No.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: I'd much rather watch Augusta hear them birds chirping. Whether
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: they're real or fake doesn't really matter to me. But
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: I just I think that's much more enjoyable than just
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: hearing background. I'll never forget. A few years back, I
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: played with a really good friend of mine that's originally
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: from New Orleans, Stan Saint Gorman. He got out there
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: with me, Michael, Yeah, yeah, mind if I play some music,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: that's that's exactly how stand talks.
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: I love how he talks. He's got this kind of
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: a little bit of a Cajun in there, and it
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: almost sounds, you know, some Cajun sound like they're from
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: New York City, and he's he kind of has that
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: kind of an accident, and I love it. And then
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: I said, oh, is sand whatever you want? Man, And
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: of course in my mind, I'm thinking that's the last
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: thing I want. He starts playing Zydacoe Cajun music the
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: entire time we're out there, and I loved it, and
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: I'm like, I kind of like this, but you know,
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: for the most part, it's like, no, that's not for me.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: When I get out in the golf course, I don't
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: want to hear music.
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: I mean, I would prefer to not hear music and
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: just listen to like the sounds of nature and stuff.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: But it doesn't it doesn't bother me either way.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: If there is a yeah, no I want, I'm out
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: there to relax, and you know, there there'll be a
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: song like I don't please play something else. I love this.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: I love it and get all hyped up. Then I
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: go hype and miss my balls. I did kind of
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: have an issue.
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: When we were on our golf trip, so we had
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: three different carts each day, and the carts were those
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: fancy ones where you could hook your phone up to
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: it and play music. All three of our carts. So
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: I think like the first day we were there, my
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: cart I was playing Christian music on it. My uncle
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: and his brother in law that he was on a
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: cart with, they were playing like classic rock, and then
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: the other group that was with us was playing like metal.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: So when I'm up on the tea box, I'm like
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: freaking out, like which one am I listening to it
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: kind of made my head spindle.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't like that kind of stuff, so yeah,
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: that would that would mess. It's like, okay, guys, I
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: want to be out here where it's nice and quiet.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: Let's just turn everything off. That's that's what I would do.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: I don't know if that's I don't care if it's
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: an old man take or not. That's where I want
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: to get away from everything.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: It's really hard to not play music when it's up
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: on that screen, and it makes it so easy to do, so.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: I understand, but I'm not picking to play music. So
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: yesterday the news came out lit will host the USA
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: Gymnastics Trials for the twenty twenty eight LA Olympics. Adam two,
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: I've gotta be there. It's gonna be at the Young
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: Center and the trials will begin June sixteenth. Plus, the
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: Convention Center Downtown will host the Developmental competition for USA
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Gymnastics Championships, which will start June fifth. Now, this event,
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: here's here's where it's gonna be a real problem because remember,
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: a major event is happening here in Louisville at the
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: same time. The event is expected to draw six thousand
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: participants and more than two hundred thousand visitors. What else
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: is happening in Louisville at that same time. It's gonna
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: make it absolutely miserable in June of twenty eight, no
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: of this year. Yeah, well this is that's right.
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: No, it'll be done.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: That's right, It'll be okay. Never mind, I was thinking
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: this is at the same time as the sixty five
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: construction is going on. Oh yeah, that's yeah. That would
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: have been miserable. So I'm sorry, Yeah, that's right. All right.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: My question to you is, besides Simone Biles Live Dune,
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: who out there from gymnastics do you know Jordan Giles?
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: Sean Johnson, Wow, I could, man, I used to be
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: able to go on for days.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: Really, Oh yeah, I love it.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: I'm impressed that you got two names out there. Nastya
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: Lucan was another big one. Holy cow, I'm telling you
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: when when the Olympics is on, I am locked down gymnastics.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: I am thoroughly impressed by that. Natalie Kulman each is
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: probably the only one I can name. But that's from
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: the nineteen eighties. I think from Russia or she was
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: from Yeah, and I don't remember her coach's name, but
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: he was kind of creepy. But yeah, that's Natalie Komenich.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: I'm surprised I can even say the name correctly, but yeah,
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: because you know her name, Live Dune has not made
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: the Olympic team. Is that I don't expect. Is she
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: really any good or she just popularly because who she
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: dates in her looks? I think it probably more so
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: for the latter.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean she's like she's gonna be in the
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: New Baywatch, so I don't even know that she's even
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: doing gymnastics anymore.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: Really, Yeah, okay, I mean she's cute, they're a lot prettier.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: That's a knock. I'm not gonna say that, just okay.
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: I don't get the whole attraction to her. I love
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: I love gymnastics. I've got to be in the build
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: for that. I think that's gonna be a lot. So
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: you're gonna go I'm gonna try absolutely all right, because
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: you know, uh LA has really been bragging about how
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: cheap the prices are gonna be for the Olympics. You
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: know that, don't you. They've been bragging that, uh hey,
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: we're gonna have tickets for the Olympics that are twenty
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: eight dollars. Hell yeah, nobody can find them. So supposedly
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: you had to go sign up online and then get
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: into a draw, and nobody has been able to sign up,
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: get into the draw, or find out. Now, evidently these
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: twenty eight dollars tickets are gone. And you want to
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: know how much the opening ceremonies are right now for
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: just okay seats for four tickets five fifty for all
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: four tickets. You think they're five hundreds? Yeah, so you
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: think it's twenty thousand dollars? Are you ready for just
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: okay seats ten four hundred dollars. Where is the opening
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: ceremonies at the coliseum. Yeah, they're making a big deal
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: out of that because they're renovating the coliseum, which Southern
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: cal uses for football and it needed. Last time I
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: was there, it needed some renovating. I think it's cool
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: that through you because I think it was back in
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: the nineteen twenties that they used it and that's why
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: they built it. And so now they're putting it there
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: back at the call Seam. I think it's kind of cool. God,
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: I'm so pumped. I can't believe that's two years away. Yeah,
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: how am I gonna make it? I you couldn't catch me.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: I have ever wanted to go to I'd like to
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: say I've been to one Olympics. Would I be excited
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: about going to the one?
- 1:19:21Speaker 7: No?
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: You hate your country? No, it has nothing to do
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: with hating my country. I do not. I just it
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: just it has nothing to do with patriotism. But it
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: has everything to do with patriots, it does. I just
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: I'm just not interested in the Olympics. I mean, they're
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: saying the tickets for ping pong or over five hundred
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: dollars you want to pay, that's what probably disinterests me
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: the most is the cost of tickets.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: Actually, it's all out in La is Yeah, every bit
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: is gona say. I'm just gonna be applying for media credentials,
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: but I'm not going to LA.
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: You think you if I can't get King's credentials, you
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: think you're gonna get credentials for the Olympics in LA. Sure? Really?
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: Maybe I'll just go to Kansas though and watch softball.
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: Is that where the World Series is?
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: Now? That's where they're doing the Olympic Softball in Kansas? Yeah?
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: Pretty sure that's what I heard. Yeah, wow, I don't know.
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: I have no life. It's based in LA and they're
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: going halfway across the country to play softball. I'm pretty
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: sure it was Kansas. H's somewhere in the Midwest. That's
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard in
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: my life. Okay, that just makes no sense. UK women's
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: basketball gets its second commit yesterday out of Alabama, five
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: to nine guard Diana Collins, who started all thirty five
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: games last season for the Tide. It's a pretty good
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: get right there. She has one year of eligibili left.
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: She averaged eight points per game. Collins shot. Forty five
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: percent from the three are from the field and thirty
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: nine percent from the three. So that's why I think
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: Kenny has it going on. I thought that was a
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: really good get for him. Uh, and makes the second
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: one right there, So that's exciting. So five O two
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: three four fourteen fifty let's go back to the phone line, ed,
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: what's going on.
- 1:21:11Speaker 7: Well in my head? And uh, being a fine, fine
- 1:21:19Speaker 7: UK person that you are.
- 1:21:22Speaker 8: I can't believe that you're not more patriotic, more patriotic
- 1:21:27Speaker 8: than the Kentucky Wildcast.
- 1:21:29Speaker 7: I'm so sorry Wildcast the hills of Kentucky to the
- 1:21:35Speaker 7: shores of the Ohio River going through uh western Kentucky.
- 1:21:39Speaker 8: I cannot believe you don't like the Olympics.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: What is with you?
- 1:21:44Speaker 8: Unbelievable Pope Mark Polpen and uh their new their new
- 1:21:50Speaker 8: football coach. I guarantee he's patriotic.
- 1:21:54Speaker 7: It's I guarantee.
- 1:21:55Speaker 8: If somebody Wilson's patriotic is their baseball coach?
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Yes, Nick Menz. Now if you don't know who Nick
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Men's is, then you must not be a UK fan.
- 1:22:07Speaker 7: No, No, I like, I like you, I don't just
- 1:22:10Speaker 7: like wait a minute, holdly holy, if I coached Scoots
- 1:22:14Speaker 7: many times, if I've told Spears many times, I'm fair
- 1:22:18Speaker 7: and balanced.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: I'm like that one TV network.
- 1:22:21Speaker 7: Which you won't Yeah, you don't get too politically we
- 1:22:25Speaker 7: won't get too politically correct.
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: Here, your name you called it as Ed is your
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: name Sean?
- 1:22:35Speaker 7: No, No, I've never been called I've never been called Sean.
- 1:22:39Speaker 7: I've been called fat boy.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: A few I'm not gonna call you. I was just
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: se I was referring to Sean Hannity because it's fair
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: and balance. But you're you're correct, But go ahead.
- 1:22:48Speaker 7: Yes, seriously, I know you're getting short on time here,
- 1:22:51Speaker 7: but uh, I think the Olympics. I wasn't really interested
- 1:22:56Speaker 7: into the Olympics until later on. I even got interested
- 1:22:59Speaker 7: in in the Winter Olympics.
- 1:23:01Speaker 8: How about, Hey, Kentucky and Louisville bolse neeed to get
- 1:23:04Speaker 8: a curling team in square off every weekend and play
- 1:23:08Speaker 8: curling against each other.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: I'm in Yeah, I would be all in on that. Listen.
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: It's probably because I prefer the Winter Olympics before I
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: prefer the Summer Olympics. I just love downhill skiing and
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: the hockey and all that kind of stuff. So I'm
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: probably more of a winter Olympic fan than I am
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: the summer. Well, that's not a bad deal.
- 1:23:30Speaker 7: I'll have to apology for that. He you rally, you
- 1:23:34Speaker 7: rally something.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: I appreciate it. Yes, real quick about.
- 1:23:37Speaker 8: Kentucky basketball signing people, what's going on.
- 1:23:42Speaker 7: Waiting on the number one guy?
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: Well, I think a lot of people are waiting, not
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: just the University of Kentucky. I think a lot of
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: players out there are trying to see retiring Stokes co.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: So if he signs at UK, which I'm starting to
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: lean towards that he is going to, and I feel
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: like there will be dominoes that drop after that.
- 1:24:05Speaker 7: Well I was gonna say, if he doesn't, then where
- 1:24:07Speaker 7: do they go from there?
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm right there with you as well. It might
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: be a little bit on the side of a panic,
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: but we'll see at that point. Hopefully we'll get a
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: decision and announcement next few days, sooner than later. But
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: anything else before we let you go?
- 1:24:20Speaker 8: Ed, do you have your derby one of you?
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: Uh?
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: Well, selfishly, I am rooting for some really close friends
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: of mine that own a horse names so happy that
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: won this Santa Anita Derby that's that's my yeah, so happy, yes, yes, no,
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: that is a Mark Glatt train horse who predominantly trains
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: out in California. Yeah, so Mark Glack. Great, he'll be
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: the Santomanal favorite, because.
- 1:24:50Speaker 7: Go ahead, yeah, who's your favorite.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: I'm going with command man. I'm taking the talking.
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: This for your Derby. I think Renegade's going.
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: To be a horse to be.
- 1:25:01Speaker 7: Longer shots win occasionally, but chalk As seemed to win
- 1:25:05Speaker 7: one wins more lately in the Jrmy all, thanks for
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: the time, guys, I appreciate you for having me on.
- 1:25:11Speaker 7: And go Olympics.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: I thought he was gonna say no cats, but no,
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: he says, go Olympics. Thank you for the phone call there,
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: ed all right, we gotta take our last break. Five
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: oh two four one four fourteen fifty. You want to
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: text in five o two three for fourteen fifty? Want
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: to call it, Well, we'll talk. We'll talk Derby horses
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: because I do have some picks more what what that
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: starts a week from Monday, which is just crazy. I
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: mean we're almost at Derby week, So take our last break,
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: stay right there or Jessicat's coming out. Ay, our last
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: segment on this Thursday. I don't know if you've seen
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: it or not, but twenty four to seven Sports ranked
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: the top twenty five recruiting rankings for football, and I
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: very much enjoyed seeing this. They have Oklahoma, Texas A
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: and m South Southern cal Ohio State Washington as your
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: top five. Then you got Miami, Notre Dame, Georgia, Texas, Tech,
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: U of L, and the rounding out the top ten.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: But then coming in in the top fifteen, you got
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: Oregon eleven, Texas twelve, and the University of Kentucky at thirteen.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: I'm right there with you, I think that, and a
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: lot of people are talking to this, not only locally regionally,
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: but it's getting a lot of national tension what will
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: Stein is doing at Universus Kentucky as far as his
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: recruiting and the positive outlook that he's making. And I
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: look at this and I think, Man, the more publicity
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: you get about this, the more good vibes you get
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: around this, the more players are gonna say, you know what,
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: there's a cool factor going to UK. It's none of
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: this negativity. Well, there's no history. Nobody cares about history
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: anymore when it comes to these high schoolers ain't the
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: transfer portal. Nobody cares about history. It's all again you've
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: heard me talk about in basketball to I know somebody
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: corrected me on this, but to nauseum, ad nausea, thank
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: you ad nauseum go, I'll get it. Was it Josh
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: that kind of crassed me? Yeah, but it was a
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: smart ass text. It was probably John, I know at
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: nauseum and I look at this and I'm thinking, man,
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: I'm starting to really now. You know, I was hopeful
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: about will Stein, but I'm getting to a point where
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: I see stuff like this on the national scale justin
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: I look at it and think, Okay, I'm starting to
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: not just feel good about it. I'm starting to believe
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: in it and to buy in it. You should, and
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: I think I believe the fan base is starting to
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: really buy into this. The more I read about will Stein,
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: the more I get to know him on the outside
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: looking in. Hopefully he'll come on the show sometime in
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: the near future they say he will. But the more
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: I am going to talk in a positive way about
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: UK football, you know, as you know, I love UK
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: just as much as I love UK basketball. I love
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: UK football. I want to see both teams succeed. I
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: don't want to see one over the other. I want
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: to UK to be succeed at you at basketball, baseball, volleyball,
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: everything out there, and that includes football. And this makes
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: me excited to see this kind of stuff. Yeah, I
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: mean it should.
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: It's almost like, I don't know, maybe you should have
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: made a coaching change a couple of years ago because
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: look at the excitement that it brings.
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, even though that the.
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: Schedule is brutal this upcoming year, we all know that
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: there's still excitement around UK football and that's that's more
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: important than anything else, right, because that's recruits are going
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: to see that sort of thing. The players on this
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: year's team, they're gonna feel that BBN's gonna show up
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: to these games regardless of the outcomes, and there's just
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: it's just nice to have excitement again.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Yeah. What do you think about Tiger Wood's attorney is
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: fighting prosecutors attempts to subpoena the fifteen time Major champions
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: prescription drug records from a pharmacy.
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: I mean, if I'm Tiger I probably don't want that
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: to get out either, ay, because it's personal. Let's all
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: get out b people are gonna see that and paint
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: you in whatever sort of light that they.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: Want to paint. Listen, I just think you let it out.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: You don't let it out, you try, you don't want
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: it out in public. I mean that's that. I don't
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: want to know what prescriptions he's on. I don't want
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: to know any more about Tiger Wood's life except I
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: want him to change how he drives. And listen, well
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: exactly and if he is so lucky he has not
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: injured Number one himself or anybody else. But you know what,
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: you're guilty of this. The court wants to see it.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: And if you're being subpoena, you give it in the story.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: I mean, it doesn't matter who you are. If it
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: were you and me, we would be forced to give
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: it to them. And I listen, if if if it's
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: affecting my ability to run my life, run a car,
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: run anything, you know what, I might be guilty of that.
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: So I'm to the point where give it to them.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: Let's let's get the matter overall. The more you fight,
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: the more that this is prolonged, I think, the more
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: that it hurts, it hurts his legacy. Well, I mean,
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: if this all comes out that could hurt his legacy
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: way more. Yeah, I get why he doesn't want to.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: I don't know. See I'm I'm different than you. I
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: think that once it's asked, you give it and if
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: the public finds out, they find out, but you know
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: what they find out, they'll forget eventually. But if if
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: you keep fighting this, I think the then more people
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: will remember it. I think it makes it worse the
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: more you go against it. Just like you never try
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: and tell a lie because people are listen. If you
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: were friends with somebody bad, you admit it right away.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: Yeah I was. I didn't realize he was that kind
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: of person. And you move on. There's more or questions
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: to be asked. You admitted it, What do you mean?
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: I just talked about it. There's nothing else to say.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: And it is Tiger Woods, and any headline about him
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: was always gonna come out because he's just one of
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: the biggest figures in the world. But I do kind
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: of there's a small part of me that, Yeah, he's
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: had his issues, and I understand why he's taking pain
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: pills because he's probably always in pain exact surgeries as
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: he's had.
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: But I don't know I just I don't. If I'm him,
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: I wouldn't want that kid now. I would just be
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: done because they're gonna dig, dig, dig, and it's just
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: making it go on and on and on and it's
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: a never ending story.
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but you're always going to be in the news
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: for something if you're Tiger. Yeah, but this is negative news.
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: You want to be in the news for positive and
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: right now he's nothing but negative. Right now, Tiger hasn't
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: been in the news for something positive in the last
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: seven And whose fault is that?
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: This exactly? Uh one? See Patrick texted, good night for
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: my Vegas Golden Knights. We won the Pacific Division for
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: the fifth time in program history nine years with a
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: four and one win over the Seattle Krakin cracking cracking creak.
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: They should be film acracking. But who is Vegas Golden Knights? What?
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: I don't even know who they are their hockey team?
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: Oh okay, and I forgot Seattle head Krakin cracking cracking,
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: Yeah whatever it is. Yeah, good for them. Yeah, it
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: wasn't a good night for my Tampa Bay Lightning, but congratulations.
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: Patrick's Lightning are rolling this year. Though, I'm curious Patrick,
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: how Are you a Vegas Golden Knight fan? I would
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: like to know that, because that's pretty that's a new
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: NHL team. Yeah.
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: The Stanley Cup their first year, didn't.
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: They That's right, they did. I completely forgot that they
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: won it last year. Yeah, well, good for you. Was
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: it last year before?
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: That's right, Florida won last year.
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: Vegas won it their first ever year, which was crazy
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: nine years ago.
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: Has it been that long that they've been in the NHL?
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: I mean I haven't been to Vegas since twenty eighteen
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: and they were a thing then.
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: Yeah. I haven't been to Las Vegas, thank goodness, in years,
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: and I don't care if I ever go back.
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: Last time I was there, they had a Vegas Golden
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: Knights jersey on the Statue of Liberty.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: Oh at New York, New York. Yeah, yeah, that's nice.
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: Is that where you stayed before? Where have you stayed
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: in Las Vegas? The Stratosphere and Luxer. What's the first
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: thing you do when you go to Las Vegas? Gamble?
- 1:34:34Speaker 8: I know?
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: But where do you gambling? Are you going to a
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: roulette table? Are you going to play black back? Typically
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: I'll start out on roulette? Yeah?
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: Really, God, that's just a game. You just cannot win.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: I disagree, can you really? I bet on Red Black
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: Otter even that's all I do on and you.
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: Win and I went. Man, the funnest night ever had
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: was playing with the doctor that knew how to play craps.
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: And it was the funnest time. Yeah, funnest time I've
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: ever had. You know how to play? That is the
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: most And he won money. I just followed everything he
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: did this one one one one. It was fun. So Patrick,
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: I'd like to know why, give me give me a
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: text tomorrow. All right, everybody, fun day. Good to see
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: you again. Yeah, all right, we'll come back. We'll see
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: you tomorrow and just the cats. Have a great day, everybody,
