- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KF I
- 0:04Speaker 1: am six forty.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Isn't it like more rational to think I'm gonna get
- 0:14Speaker 2: hit by lightning than the thing that I'm going to
- 0:16Speaker 2: get the haunt of virus?
- 0:17Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:17Speaker 4: Pretty low unless you were on that ship.
- 0:20Speaker 5: Personally, I think a bigger deal is being made of
- 0:23Speaker 5: this than should be.
- 0:26Speaker 4: Sorry, that was a perfect t novel.
- 0:32Speaker 1: That's that's a plum and now handle on the news,
- 0:38Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:42Speaker 4: And good morning everybody.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Handle morning crew, hunkday, Wednesday, May thirteenth.
- 0:48Speaker 4: As we plugged.
- 0:49Speaker 5: Around along, Okay, it looks like the eighteen is here, cono,
- 0:54Speaker 5: good morning.
- 0:56Speaker 4: I do start off the ATM, don't I? I know?
- 0:58Speaker 4: Thank you? You don't I go around?
- 1:01Speaker 5: See the way it works on the monitor is I'm
- 1:03Speaker 5: going around clockwise?
- 1:06Speaker 4: That's all. Are you sure it's not the best to
- 1:08Speaker 4: least best? Yeah? I'm sure will good morning? Good morning?
- 1:16Speaker 4: All right? There you are? And Amy, there.
- 1:19Speaker 3: You are, I'm here, I'm here.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you are an here? I am oh yeah, you
- 1:25Speaker 4: sound excited. And Neil or Neil.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Okay, a couple of things I want to talk about.
- 1:31Speaker 5: First of all, the President is in China, and so
- 1:34Speaker 5: we'll talk a lot about what's going on with him
- 1:37Speaker 5: in China, probably over the next couple of days.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think you're going to find that what
- 1:45Speaker 4: he wants and what he is going.
- 1:47Speaker 5: To get are two very different things. I've got a
- 1:51Speaker 5: bunch of things to say about that. Personally, I think
- 1:53Speaker 5: he is out of his league when it comes to
- 1:56Speaker 5: President She.
- 1:57Speaker 4: It's that simple.
- 1:58Speaker 5: The Chinese or much very much the long game. President
- 2:03Speaker 5: She is. He thinks things out very carefully. There is
- 2:09Speaker 5: nothing immediate about.
- 2:10Speaker 4: What he does. And our president is shoot from the hip.
- 2:13Speaker 5: Will change his mind from eight o'clock in the morning
- 2:16Speaker 5: till noon he goes another way, same day, will change everything.
- 2:20Speaker 4: And it's my opinion.
- 2:24Speaker 5: A lot of people defend him saying, oh, he keeps
- 2:26Speaker 5: people on the defensive.
- 2:29Speaker 4: I don't think she gives it, damn.
- 2:31Speaker 5: I think he just go plodding lye methodically to where
- 2:34Speaker 5: he wants to go. That's what I think is going
- 2:36Speaker 5: to happen. Okay, So with that being said, Oh, also, Amy,
- 2:40Speaker 5: this was for you the story about that guy who
- 2:44Speaker 5: jumped the fence and was on the tarmac of Denver
- 2:48Speaker 5: who got hit and.
- 2:52Speaker 4: They don't say that. They do not say he got
- 2:55Speaker 4: sucked in.
- 2:56Speaker 3: They just apparently it was pretty gruesome, though I understand.
- 2:59Speaker 5: No, no, there's no question that he disappeared instantly as
- 3:03Speaker 5: soon as the engine came in contact with him, and
- 3:07Speaker 5: it was and there was a photo of the engine.
- 3:11Speaker 4: It looked like a mess in there.
- 3:13Speaker 5: But they have not said that he did commits suicide,
- 3:16Speaker 5: which is obvious, but they don't say he was sucked
- 3:20Speaker 5: into the engine. I find that very fairly interesting.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Just run over. That's weird. Don't you think that they
- 3:28Speaker 4: keep on leaving that out.
- 3:29Speaker 3: That it's been sanitized?
- 3:31Speaker 4: Uh, yeah, there's apparently.
- 3:33Speaker 3: And I have not seen it because I choose not
- 3:35Speaker 3: to see this. But I've also heard that there is video,
- 3:40Speaker 3: you know, because sometimes.
- 3:41Speaker 4: There is, of course, there's all kinds of video.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's from a passenger who was filming the
- 3:46Speaker 3: landing and look.
- 3:48Speaker 4: There he is.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yeah, So a couple of things.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Obviously, the authorities are saying, do not jump the fence
- 3:55Speaker 5: at airports. And I wouldn't order Hamburger anytime soon on
- 4:00Speaker 5: frontier airlines.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Oh okay, are you guys ready to do it?
- 4:07Speaker 2: You think Trump is going to order airplanes along the
- 4:11Speaker 2: fences at the border.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Now, yeah, wouldn't that be something.
- 4:14Speaker 5: No, just vacuumlators, big ones, industrial wo Okay, let's do it, guys.
- 4:19Speaker 4: It's side for.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Handle on the News on this Wednesday morning, May thirteenth,
- 4:25Speaker 5: Handle on the News with Neil Amy and me lead story.
- 4:31Speaker 5: And not particularly good for Americans and the administration. That
- 4:37Speaker 5: inflation has well, it's hit us and we knew that
- 4:41Speaker 5: was going to first time in three years. Wages are
- 4:44Speaker 5: no longer outpacing inflation right now, the annualized rate is
- 4:49Speaker 5: three point eight percent per year. And a lot of
- 4:53Speaker 5: reasons for it, the strike, that war in Iran. You
- 4:57Speaker 5: also have just in general, the cost of housing. It's
- 5:02Speaker 5: just it's a mess, and it's going to get worse
- 5:04Speaker 5: by the way this the longer the war goes on,
- 5:07Speaker 5: or more importantly, the longer the blockades go on, the
- 5:12Speaker 5: straight up her Moves being closed down and as a
- 5:14Speaker 5: result of that, the ports in Iran being shut down
- 5:18Speaker 5: by the US military. But I think it doesn't bode
- 5:22Speaker 5: well for the Republicans. Although Republicans are doing great in
- 5:26Speaker 5: terms of redistricting stuff. Man, they're scoring big time. Is
- 5:30Speaker 5: that the administration came into power on the premise that
- 5:34Speaker 5: prices were going to be lowered, and it's going the
- 5:39Speaker 5: other way. And you're going to see the President staying
- 5:42Speaker 5: away from that. He's going to be pulling back, which
- 5:43Speaker 5: you just did. As a matter of fact. That's our
- 5:47Speaker 5: second story.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Amy.
- 5:50Speaker 3: The President's not thinking about the people. President Trump told
- 5:54Speaker 3: reporters he's not weighing the economic burden of the Iran
- 5:57Speaker 3: war on everyday American. He said, when I asked a
- 6:02Speaker 3: question about it, he said, the only thing that matters
- 6:03Speaker 3: when I'm talking about Iran is they can't have a
- 6:05Speaker 3: nuclear weapon. I don't think about americans financial situation. I
- 6:09Speaker 3: don't think about anybody. I think about one thing. We
- 6:12Speaker 3: cannot let around have a nuclear weapon.
- 6:14Speaker 4: That's all. Yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Now he's going to be a hit big time for that.
- 6:20Speaker 5: I'm not going to nail him for that. He is
- 6:22Speaker 5: there to negotiate the issue of the war. That's what
- 6:27Speaker 5: he's there to do. He has said, the premise of this,
- 6:30Speaker 5: even though there's gonna be some trade talks in Taiwan
- 6:33Speaker 5: and asking China to put pressure on Iran because China
- 6:39Speaker 5: buys virtually all of Iranian oil in their allies, actually
- 6:45Speaker 5: but his position is all I'm caring about is a
- 6:49Speaker 5: nuclear program of Iran's, interestingly, not the opening of the strait,
- 6:55Speaker 5: not the issue of the manufacturer of owns ballistic missiles,
- 7:01Speaker 5: et cetera. It's all about now nuclear, the nuclear issue.
- 7:05Speaker 4: That's it.
- 7:06Speaker 5: And if I think and there's gonna be some compromise,
- 7:09Speaker 5: by the way, I guarantee you there will be some compromise, which,
- 7:12Speaker 5: of course the United States will take credit.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Trump will say it's.
- 7:15Speaker 5: A victory, as the Iranians will say it's a victory.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Both sides are going to come out of this as
- 7:21Speaker 5: winners winter winter chicken dinner. Both sides are going to
- 7:25Speaker 5: do just great.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Wouldn't that be a good thing, though both sides were winners.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Well, depends on how you define winners. For example, the
- 7:34Speaker 5: opening of the Straits of Hormuz, what Iran wants is
- 7:38Speaker 5: to control the straits and make it a toll booth
- 7:41Speaker 5: that every ship going through pays the toll to Iran,
- 7:45Speaker 5: and it goes from an international, free, international waterway to
- 7:48Speaker 5: all of a sudden you pay the money like the
- 7:49Speaker 5: Panama Canal.
- 7:50Speaker 3: That's not going to happen, though, Do you think it's
- 7:54Speaker 3: a worldwide thing.
- 7:55Speaker 5: Yeah, no, it is a worldwide thing. But who the
- 7:58Speaker 5: hell knows. I mean, at this point, it's all up
- 8:00Speaker 5: in the air. I know Panama charges, the Suez Canal charges.
- 8:05Speaker 3: But that's not an open waterway.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Suez Canal now it's closed, but it was an open waterway.
- 8:11Speaker 5: That's the Iranians are saying. This is not an open waterway.
- 8:15Speaker 5: We control it. This is only twenty four miles wide.
- 8:18Speaker 5: It's an open waterway because it has been considered an
- 8:21Speaker 5: open waterway.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Maybe Trump will negotiate if they call it the Trump
- 8:26Speaker 2: toll booth.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Yeah, allow it? Yeah? Why not? All right? Oh right.
- 8:31Speaker 2: FBI Director Cash Battel has denied, and keep in mind
- 8:35Speaker 2: this is under oath recent allegations of excessive drinking and
- 8:41Speaker 2: even more concerning, I suppose unexplained absences on the job,
- 8:46Speaker 2: and he dismisses them as baseless. This was during a
- 8:50Speaker 2: fiery congressional hearing, going back and forth. In his opening remarks,
- 8:55Speaker 2: Chris Van Holland, ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, said,
- 9:00Speaker 2: what we are learning about what's happening at the FBI
- 9:04Speaker 2: is anything but normal. When your private actions make it
- 9:08Speaker 2: impossible for you to perform your public duties.
- 9:11Speaker 4: We have a big problem, yep. And he said, absolutely not.
- 9:16Speaker 4: It's a farce. It's not true. It's an utter lie.
- 9:20Speaker 5: One of the things that I've noticed about all these
- 9:22Speaker 5: hearings with Trump administration cabinet members and leadership, etc. Employees,
- 9:30Speaker 5: is how just antagonistic these hearings are. They used to
- 9:35Speaker 5: be yes, Senator, yes, congressperson or congressman.
- 9:40Speaker 4: And they were differential. People used to be deferential in
- 9:43Speaker 4: these hearings.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Now it's a fistfight that happens between the Republican This
- 9:50Speaker 5: was and Chris Vaughan Holand is a Democrat.
- 9:52Speaker 4: So we'll see when it comes out.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Part of the committee. I didn't see video. Did he
- 9:59Speaker 2: look shaken or no? You look pissed now shaking?
- 10:03Speaker 4: Now he was? No, he wasn't share now he did,
- 10:06Speaker 4: you know, take a or sterred? Oh? Got it? Oh?
- 10:09Speaker 4: Got it all right? Yeah, I missed it. I missed it?
- 10:12Speaker 4: Fair enough?
- 10:15Speaker 3: Who's leaking? The Justice Department issued subpoenis to the Wall
- 10:20Speaker 3: Street Journal looking for information related to its coverage of
- 10:26Speaker 3: the conflict in Iran. The paper reported in a story
- 10:31Speaker 3: that legal requests were dated March fourth, related to a
- 10:34Speaker 3: February twenty third article that was published before the war started,
- 10:38Speaker 3: describing internal Pentagon concern concerns about an extended military action
- 10:45Speaker 3: in Iran. The Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said, prosecuting
- 10:49Speaker 3: leakers who share our nation's secrets with reporters, in turn
- 10:53Speaker 3: risking our national security in the lives of our soldiers
- 10:56Speaker 3: is a priority for this administration.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Hey, I don't know are people tired of this yet?
- 11:02Speaker 5: Where anybody who does says anything against the administration goes
- 11:07Speaker 5: as an immediate target of an investigation and arrest.
- 11:12Speaker 4: It's said being fired.
- 11:16Speaker 5: As I've said many times before, I don't blame the
- 11:18Speaker 5: president for this. He is who he is, and he
- 11:22Speaker 5: was legitimately elected. It's the Republicans in Congress who back
- 11:26Speaker 5: him up. And it doesn't matter what he says or does.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Doesn't matter. If he were to put in front of
- 11:34Speaker 5: the White House a forty foot statue of himself, which
- 11:38Speaker 5: by the way, there already is one going up, then
- 11:42Speaker 5: all the Republicans would vote, absolutely yes, they would. It's insanity.
- 11:48Speaker 5: I just I don't understand it. I really don't understand
- 11:51Speaker 5: how this is going. Okay, now let's talk about a
- 11:56Speaker 5: legitimate what I think is a legitimate arrest.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Nation Volcano was what this sting was dubbed. This took
- 12:04Speaker 2: place in Riverside County and their Child Exploitation Team targeting
- 12:09Speaker 2: individuals suspected of sharing illicit materials online, dealing with children.
- 12:15Speaker 2: This dealt with abuse, child porn, all these different things.
- 12:22Speaker 2: The thing is, it would be much easier if everyone
- 12:25Speaker 2: just looked like a monster. That was a monster. But
- 12:28Speaker 2: they found a child psychologist, a doctor during this massive
- 12:34Speaker 2: suite that were involved in this. Retired law enforcement employee,
- 12:39Speaker 2: two corporate vice presidents, a US Postal Service worker all
- 12:43Speaker 2: tied in with this. Five hundred suspects being identified, forty
- 12:48Speaker 2: two arrests. This deals with stings on the dark web
- 12:54Speaker 2: and a year long from March to March investigation.
- 13:00Speaker 4: I'm gonna give Lindsay a plug here.
- 13:02Speaker 5: She has a podcast called The Paying Game Podcast, and
- 13:06Speaker 5: two weeks ago she released an episode called Pimps and
- 13:09Speaker 5: Pastors about a pastor who became an FBI agent.
- 13:14Speaker 4: And it is and it's about this topic.
- 13:18Speaker 5: It's about people who are involved in these sex rings.
- 13:24Speaker 5: And it is so scary and so disturbing and so
- 13:27Speaker 5: depressing as to how.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Many he became an FBI agent right, her guest yes,
- 13:35Speaker 2: and ended up Yeah.
- 13:36Speaker 4: I yeah, it's.
- 13:39Speaker 5: It's worth listening too, because first of all, it's a
- 13:42Speaker 5: great episode, and second of all it is I just
- 13:46Speaker 5: was shaking my head yesterday, you know, I listened to it,
- 13:48Speaker 5: and you know, it not very much affects me, as
- 13:51Speaker 5: you probably know. I mean, you have to go to
- 13:53Speaker 5: a long, long way to affect me. But man, you know,
- 13:57Speaker 5: so if you want to take a listen to something
- 13:59Speaker 5: along the lines. Pimps and Pastors is the name of
- 14:04Speaker 5: the episode at the Pain Game podcast. Okay, legitimate plug
- 14:08Speaker 5: by the way, that was not gratuitous. No, no, now
- 14:13Speaker 5: let's do some gratuitous plugging.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Okay, no, let's move on.
- 14:19Speaker 3: This was no accident. Bill mentioned this a minute ago.
- 14:21Speaker 3: The guy who jumped a fence at an airport at
- 14:24Speaker 3: Denver International and crossed a runway in front of a
- 14:29Speaker 3: Frontier Airlines jet that was trying to take off died
- 14:33Speaker 3: by suicide, according to the medical examiner. Chief Medical examiner
- 14:37Speaker 3: doctor Sterling McLaren said a post mortem examination of the
- 14:41Speaker 3: forty one year old man revealed the manner of death
- 14:44Speaker 3: was suicide. The guy's injuries were caused by the plane's engine.
- 14:50Speaker 3: They didn't say it was sucked into it.
- 14:52Speaker 5: Post Well, it catches on fire, Smoke is in the cabin.
- 14:58Speaker 5: If he was just run over, he would have just
- 15:00Speaker 5: been run over.
- 15:02Speaker 3: What do you.
- 15:04Speaker 2: As a medical examiner, what are you examining after that
- 15:09Speaker 2: incident that tells you it was a suicide.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Well, I don't think. I don't think he left a
- 15:17Speaker 4: suicide note.
- 15:18Speaker 2: But he was just just saying, it's like what while
- 15:21Speaker 2: he hopped the fence. I mean, are you examining it's
- 15:24Speaker 2: not from the body that.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Tells you that.
- 15:27Speaker 5: No, No, the body is a body at that point. Yeah, well, no,
- 15:30Speaker 5: there's a body. It's just it's very hard to put
- 15:32Speaker 5: together again. Uh, it's Oh, how's that for a puzzle?
- 15:38Speaker 5: You know that you buy one of those puzzles trying
- 15:40Speaker 5: to put together someone. Oh okay, anyway, you're right. All
- 15:47Speaker 5: they can do is surmise that it was a suicide.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Jumping the fence, running out to the to the to
- 15:54Speaker 5: the tarmac on the runway in front of a jet. Okay,
- 15:58Speaker 5: And I think it was fake seeing the jet and
- 16:01Speaker 5: if I'm not mistaken, the airplane.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Well, it was weird watching the video because after he
- 16:05Speaker 3: scaled the fence. He was just sort of strolling. He
- 16:08Speaker 3: wasn't running, he was just walking toward the runway. Looked
- 16:14Speaker 3: very nonchalant at least leading up to it.
- 16:16Speaker 2: So reminds me of that fight in Indiana Jones, a
- 16:20Speaker 2: big bald guy gets taken out by the propellers.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Oh and raiders of the Larstark.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was no, it was very good.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Oh, fingers crossed here. I love the Cinerama Dome. If
- 16:34Speaker 2: you've been in La for any amount of time, you
- 16:36Speaker 2: know this wonderful theater originally or last overseen by arc
- 16:42Speaker 2: Light and just fantastic. While the city had a hearing
- 16:46Speaker 2: this week and they were looking for to continue their
- 16:50Speaker 2: on site alcohol sales, you have to renew that license
- 16:54Speaker 2: and the like, and this gave the public a chance
- 16:57Speaker 2: to air their opinions about the possible reopening of the
- 17:00Speaker 2: Cinerama Dome and ArcLight Hollywood. There just Tuesday, and people
- 17:06Speaker 2: had like me and Amy, I'm sure have crossed our
- 17:10Speaker 2: fingers since twenty twenty in March. With the onset of
- 17:15Speaker 2: COVID nineteen, the pandemic shut it down in April of
- 17:18Speaker 2: twenty twenty one, and it's not been open since, but
- 17:23Speaker 2: it was the premiere theater.
- 17:25Speaker 5: Oh Magic placed a couple things about it. God, how
- 17:28Speaker 5: the West was one a really neat film opened up
- 17:32Speaker 5: and I saw it there as a kid, and I
- 17:35Speaker 5: still remember it. It's cinerama, which means it's basically one
- 17:38Speaker 5: hundred and eighty degrees the screen, but they used it
- 17:42Speaker 5: was three projectors that they used, and it was and
- 17:47Speaker 5: the film was seventy milimeters, twice as big as a
- 17:50Speaker 5: thirty five millimeter film, and you'd watch it, but you.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Could see the scene free everything.
- 17:56Speaker 5: Yeah, you could see it and the cinerama dome at least.
- 18:00Speaker 5: There was an event a few years ago that I
- 18:01Speaker 5: went to. They have the last seventy milimeters cinerama projection
- 18:07Speaker 5: system on Earth and it's still working where it was
- 18:12Speaker 5: a few years ago where I saw how the West
- 18:15Speaker 5: was won and it was a special event and the
- 18:18Speaker 5: projectionist who was involved with this and he was part
- 18:23Speaker 5: of refurbishing it, we all went up to the projection
- 18:27Speaker 5: booth and he explained how the projectors worked and it
- 18:30Speaker 5: was just one of the most magical events of certainly
- 18:35Speaker 5: cinematic events that I've ever been to.
- 18:37Speaker 4: So I hope they bring it I hope they bring
- 18:40Speaker 4: it back.
- 18:40Speaker 5: And then the old Cinerama that was the first wide
- 18:43Speaker 5: screen and Imax if you look at it, that was
- 18:45Speaker 5: basically yet of course they didn't have the technology they
- 18:48Speaker 5: do today. So it's fun to see the three basically
- 18:52Speaker 5: three screens that are put together and they have to Oh,
- 18:56Speaker 5: it's great.
- 18:57Speaker 4: I hope they do it and if you ever chance.
- 19:00Speaker 5: I don't know if they're ever going to show Cinerama
- 19:02Speaker 5: because the projectors are there.
- 19:04Speaker 4: They use other projectors to but that was neat. I
- 19:08Speaker 4: hope they go for it.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Truly, business isn't booming just yet. The promised economic boom
- 19:17Speaker 3: for the World Cup is not meeting expectations, at least
- 19:22Speaker 3: not for hotel owners. Room bookings have been lighter than
- 19:26Speaker 3: expected in most of the eleven cities that are hosting
- 19:29Speaker 3: World Cup events. A majority of hotel owners say bookings
- 19:33Speaker 3: are actually running behind typical season demand. In Los Angeles,
- 19:37Speaker 3: demand apparently is pretty flat so far compared to a
- 19:40Speaker 3: regular spring and summer, but they're not filled to the
- 19:43Speaker 3: rafters just yet. So does that mean nobody's coming.
- 19:47Speaker 5: No, no, it does, but it's way different than they anticipated.
- 19:53Speaker 5: And I'll do a story coming up at eight o'clock
- 19:55Speaker 5: on what the hotel owners are dealing with, the host cities.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Are dealing with, and the real winners here is FIFA.
- 20:03Speaker 4: That's it? Is it? FIFA?
- 20:06Speaker 3: FIFA?
- 20:07Speaker 4: FIFA phone phone smell.
- 20:12Speaker 2: The blood of an Englishman?
- 20:13Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 20:14Speaker 2: I think I have to look at this and go,
- 20:15Speaker 2: who do I want listening in on my calls? China
- 20:18Speaker 2: or Trump. Trump Mobile phones are being shipped this week,
- 20:23Speaker 2: the company exclusively confirmed to USA Today in an email.
- 20:27Speaker 2: A couple of days ago, Trump Organization launched Trump Mobile.
- 20:31Speaker 2: It's a new cellular service and smartphone company. They and
- 20:36Speaker 2: on June sixteenth. The company's first smartphone, the T one phone,
- 20:42Speaker 2: was originally supposed to be released back in August, but
- 20:47Speaker 2: it is gonna be yea delayed, I think until October.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Now what is the T one? What does the T
- 20:54Speaker 4: stand for? I think it's totally OK. Yeah.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Can you imagine any other president doing this stuff? No,
- 21:07Speaker 5: it's it's impossible for any other president ever to do
- 21:11Speaker 5: this stuff.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I mean, the last one is probably Lincoln with those cars.
- 21:16Speaker 4: No it's Lincoln.
- 21:17Speaker 5: No, No, if the last one was Lincoln when they
- 21:18Speaker 5: came out with a five dollar bill that he came
- 21:21Speaker 5: out with and originally yeah.
- 21:23Speaker 4: All over everything.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it's yeah, got honest abes, yes.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Yeah, unintended consequences. A union funded attack ad against Spencer Pratt,
- 21:40Speaker 3: who's running for mayor of La may actually get him
- 21:43Speaker 3: into the top two. It's a thirty second spot listing
- 21:46Speaker 3: criticisms against Pratt, but seems kind of like a roster
- 21:50Speaker 3: of his selling points. He wants to add more police officers,
- 21:53Speaker 3: reign in the power of public employee unions, and spend
- 21:57Speaker 3: less money on new housing for the homeless. The La
- 22:01Speaker 3: County Federation of Labor, which is backing Bass, spent two
- 22:05Speaker 3: hundred twenty one thousand dollars in connection with the ad.
- 22:10Speaker 3: The Labor Federation denounced Pratt but didn't respond when asked
- 22:14Speaker 3: if the new ad was tried was aimed at boosting
- 22:17Speaker 3: his appeal to Republicans in the race. Okay, so maybe
- 22:22Speaker 3: there is a conspiracy.
- 22:24Speaker 5: I think again, I think it's a conspiracy from beginning
- 22:29Speaker 5: to end.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Have you seen any of Pratt's Oh my gosh, his
- 22:35Speaker 3: Internet ads?
- 22:36Speaker 2: No, Oh, I'm so happy that Pratt's in. When I
- 22:40Speaker 2: step in poop, I know it's not human things like that.
- 22:43Speaker 3: It's like they're really interesting.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Let me ask you, AI, if he fails and falls short,
- 22:53Speaker 5: is it a pratt fall?
- 22:55Speaker 3: Oh?
- 22:58Speaker 4: Thank you? All right?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Former private prison official to serve as acting ICE chief.
- 23:05Speaker 2: So what is David Venturella.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Entrea? Yeah, that sounds right Venterella. Yeah? Is he Italian
- 23:14Speaker 4: or Hispanic?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Is expected to be the next acting director of the
- 23:19Speaker 2: Immigration Customs Enforcement Agency. This comes from a Department of
- 23:24Speaker 2: Homeland Security spokesperson, and you know he's His law enforcement
- 23:32Speaker 2: background is basically private prison official.
- 23:35Speaker 4: No, he has the credentials.
- 23:37Speaker 5: But the part that a lot of people have trouble with,
- 23:40Speaker 5: as I do, is he worked for the government in
- 23:43Speaker 5: the world of prisons, then he goes and works for
- 23:45Speaker 5: the largest private prison company in the United States. Then
- 23:50Speaker 5: he comes back to ICE. It's the old revolving door argument.
- 23:55Speaker 2: He previously worked for ICE during the Obama and George W.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Bush administration.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Not all it's cracked up to be. Oh, the windshield
- 24:07Speaker 3: on a Southwest Airlines flight cracked, forcing the plane to
- 24:11Speaker 3: make an emergency landing in Oklahoma. The plane took off
- 24:14Speaker 3: from Albuquerque. It was headed to Baltimore, Washington. Uh. It
- 24:19Speaker 3: took off Monday afternoon. Someone said, hmm, there's a crack
- 24:23Speaker 3: in that windshield, so they diverted to Tulsa International Airport
- 24:27Speaker 3: and landed safely. The FAA says the windshield is comprised
- 24:32Speaker 3: of multiple layers of tempered glass.
- 24:34Speaker 5: Yeah, those are pretty strong windshields. I mean there are
- 24:38Speaker 5: several inches thick, so that's not a huge huge issue. Okay,
- 24:42Speaker 5: let's do one more and then we'll bail out of here.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Safe light, replace, safely repair. Yeah, that's what I was
- 24:48Speaker 4: thinking by that.
- 24:49Speaker 3: That was the one I was looking for. I was like,
- 24:51Speaker 3: what's that Winschilverlacey.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Had guys on the front while it's flying, go anywhere,
- 24:56Speaker 2: We'll come to you.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Uh.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Okay.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Russian cargo ship but likely carrying two nuclear reactors for submarines,
- 25:04Speaker 2: possibly destined for North Korea, suffered a series of explosions
- 25:08Speaker 2: and sank. They don't have any explanation for these circumstances.
- 25:14Speaker 2: About sixty miles off the coast of Spain. And that's
- 25:19Speaker 2: about what we know.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's I tell you what we know.
- 25:22Speaker 5: They're carrying a couple, even the captain said, a couple
- 25:25Speaker 5: of components for nuclear reactors, probably for submarines, and all
- 25:29Speaker 5: of a sudden, okay, it disappears and then another ship
- 25:33Speaker 5: shows up.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Oh okay, it disappears too, so go figure. All right,
- 25:38Speaker 4: It's like a movie, doesn't it. Yeah, it sure does.
- 25:42Speaker 4: All right, let's get out of here. We're done with
- 25:44Speaker 4: the first hour.
- 25:46Speaker 5: Coming up inflation, first time in three years, wages are
- 25:51Speaker 5: no longer outpacing inflation, and inflation is here, and it's
- 25:54Speaker 5: coming with a vengeance. And I'll share that with you
- 25:56Speaker 5: when we returned. This is KFI A M six point
