  The introit.
• 0:32
In the midst of the church, he opened his mouth and the Lord filled him with the spirit of wisdom and understanding. He clothed him with a robe of glory. Sweet it is to praise the Lord, to sing most high God in honor of thy name. Glory be to the father and to the son and to the holy ghost as it was in the beginning is now and will be through all ages of ages. Amen.
• 1:10
In the midst of the church, he opened his mouth and the Lord filled him with the spirit of wisdom and understanding. He clothed him with a robe of glory. The Collect, let us pray. O God, who willed to enlighten your church by the wondrous learning and glorious merits of the life of blessed Ephrem, your confessor and doctor, we humbly pray you that by his pleading, you will shield her with your lasting power against the snares of error and evil. Death of your holy martyrs, Mark and Marcellian, may by their intercession be delivered from all evils that threaten us through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God through all ages of ages.
• 2:27
Amen. Lesson from the second letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to Timothy. Dearly beloved, I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead and by his appearing and his kingdom. Preach the word. Be urgent in season and out of season.
• 2:58
Convince, rebuke, and exhort. Be unfailing in patience and in doctrine for the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths. As for you, always be steady, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already being poured out in sacrifice. The time of my departure has come.
• 3:54
I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have loved his advent. The gradual.
• 4:31
The mouth of the just shall meditate wisdom, and his tongue shall speak judgment. His steps shall never falter because the law of God rules in his heart. Alleluia. Alleluia. The Lord loved him and adorned him.
• 4:54
He clothed him with a robe of glory. Alleluia. A continuation of the holy gospel according to Matthew. At that time, Jesus said to his disciples, you are the salt of the earth. But if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored?
• 5:21
It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your father who is in heaven. Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets.
• 6:05
I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. For truly I say to you till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and so teaches men shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but he that shall do them and teach them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. The offertory. The just shall flourish like the palm tree.
• 6:57
He shall grow up like the cedar of Libanus. The secret. May the pious prayer of holy Ephrem, thy confessor and illustrious doctor, be not wanting to us, O Lord, but make our offerings acceptable to thee and ever win for us thy mercy. A commemoration of saints Mark and Marcellian. Sanctify the offerings dedicated to you, O Lord, and through the intercession of blessed Mark and Marcellian, your martyrs, look upon us with mercy because of them through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, through all ages of ages.
• 7:54
