- 0:02Speaker 1: On scone Lits Australia.
- 0:05Speaker 2: This is the Reader Panehy Show.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Good evening and welcome to the Rita Panehy Show. I'm
- 0:11Speaker 3: Danikiti Giorgio coming up. Donald Trump receives a rock star
- 0:15Speaker 3: reception as he arrives at the Republican Convention with a
- 0:18Speaker 3: bandaged ear. Caroline Derusso was there. We will speak to her.
- 0:22Speaker 4: About that momentous moment.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Joe Biden gaslights America again over his inflammatory anti Trump rhetoric.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Josh Hammer will join us.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Rumors of a major rift between tennis star Venus Williams
- 0:36Speaker 3: and Prince Harry and Meghan d. D. Dunlevy has the
- 0:40Speaker 3: latest up to twenty CFMU delegates in Victoria. We're reportedly
- 0:45Speaker 3: members of Outlaw Motorcycle Games or have links to.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Vikis and of course.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Left He's losing it and the Donald Trump meltdowns get
- 0:54Speaker 3: even weirder.
- 0:56Speaker 5: I'm not saying that I will ever try to assassinate
- 0:58Speaker 5: a presidential candidate. All I'm saying is that if I
- 1:01Speaker 5: went to all the trouble, I wouldn't.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Miss Joining me now is Sky News contributor Gary Hardgrave. Gary,
- 1:08Speaker 3: lovely to see you, Thanks for joining us. Let's start
- 1:11Speaker 3: with former Home Affairs Secretary Mike Pizzulo, who is calling
- 1:15Speaker 3: for a major security boost for MPs now. Speaking after
- 1:19Speaker 3: the attempted assassination of Donald Trump and the recent vandalism
- 1:22Speaker 3: of electorate officers by pro Palestine protesters, mister Pizzolo said
- 1:27Speaker 3: there had not been a comprehensive review of security in
- 1:30Speaker 3: Australia since after the Hilton bombing in nineteen seventy eight. Gary,
- 1:35Speaker 3: do you think security needs to be bolstered for MPs.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I don't think he's right.
- 1:42Speaker 6: I think there's been a constant renewal of information about
- 1:47Speaker 6: MP's security and circumstances on a daily basis. I mean,
- 1:52Speaker 6: my understanding and nobody ever really talks about security arrangements,
- 1:56Speaker 6: is that all members of Parliament are protected by a
- 1:59Speaker 6: variety of means, and I don't think we go into
- 2:01Speaker 6: the details. That's really the point in Danika, I mean
- 2:04Speaker 6: to me, In fact, he's actually said there's not been
- 2:06Speaker 6: any upgrade. I think is a bit frightening in itself,
- 2:08Speaker 6: and I think it's a bit irresponsible. If he's going
- 2:10Speaker 6: to have these conversations, then shut the heck up and
- 2:13Speaker 6: actually talk to somebody quietly about it and do it
- 2:15Speaker 6: because you know, at different stages of my time in
- 2:18Speaker 6: the Australian Parliament, particularly as the Minister, I had close
- 2:21Speaker 6: personal protection. Admittedly it was during very heightened tensions after
- 2:26Speaker 6: nine to eleven and after what happened with the Barley bombings,
- 2:31Speaker 6: and they were during travel in other countries. Now I
- 2:34Speaker 6: didn't go into the detail of that, nor do I
- 2:36Speaker 6: need to, but I know of other members of Parliament
- 2:39Speaker 6: who at different times were also subjected to close personal
- 2:42Speaker 6: protection during these times of uncertainty.
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's reasonable that they were.
- 2:47Speaker 6: I know of one of my former minister or colleagues
- 2:50Speaker 6: and a couple of them had this over the time
- 2:52Speaker 6: who said they couldn't have a family event without the
- 2:55Speaker 6: police officers being nearby, that is the Federal Police to
- 2:59Speaker 6: protection people. In fact, their street was probably the safest
- 3:02Speaker 6: street in the suburb because people were being checked on
- 3:05Speaker 6: the way and the way out.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But you know, we don't talk.
- 3:08Speaker 6: About these things, nor should we talk about these things.
- 3:11Speaker 6: The mere fact is that members of Parliament are protected.
- 3:15Speaker 6: They are protected. But of course we are a free
- 3:17Speaker 6: and open society and so obviously some people take risks
- 3:21Speaker 6: they shouldn't taken, and sometimes things could happen, but I
- 3:24Speaker 6: think Brazila has a bit of responsible raising this myself.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I completely agree with you.
- 3:29Speaker 3: I think as well, people are just so on edge
- 3:31Speaker 3: because of what happened in America that you know, now.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Suddenly everyone's talking about it. But look, Gary, I want.
- 3:36Speaker 3: To talk to you about the CFMU because it's placed
- 3:39Speaker 3: it's troubled Victorian branch into administration and it's set up
- 3:42Speaker 3: an inquiry to investigate allegations of a criminal links severe
- 3:46Speaker 3: bullying and intimidation. But it's now been revealed up to
- 3:49Speaker 3: twenty delegates in Victoria well either members of outlaw motorcycle
- 3:53Speaker 3: games or have links to bikis.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Gary.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Firstly, why has this union not been deregistered yet?
- 4:02Speaker 6: I don't know, but of course I think because they've
- 4:04Speaker 6: been a milscow, a major fundraiser for the Labor Party.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Tens of millions of dollars have gone into Labor Party
- 4:10Speaker 6: coffers all over the country from this union and of
- 4:13Speaker 6: course Donega. It's a complete Ponzi scheme. They have links
- 4:17Speaker 6: into outlaw motorcycle gangs who run drugs, who then affect
- 4:21Speaker 6: people on work sites, who then create dangerous situations on
- 4:24Speaker 6: work sites, which the CFME you say, they are the
- 4:27Speaker 6: only ones that can arbitrate on whether a work site
- 4:30Speaker 6: is safe or not, so pay us more. Then they
- 4:33Speaker 6: hold governments and businesses and private citizens to ransom over
- 4:37Speaker 6: the cost of all of these extra precautions that need
- 4:39Speaker 6: to go in there under the guise of safety. I mean,
- 4:42Speaker 6: everywhere you turn, this union is driving up the cost
- 4:45Speaker 6: of living. You can't build a backyard barbecue in suburban
- 4:49Speaker 6: Brisbane right now without paying the price for the bricks
- 4:53Speaker 6: and indeed the mortar and also the concrete and the steel.
- 4:57Speaker 1: That's governed by the cost of a tax funded.
- 5:00Speaker 6: Building site controlled by the CFMEU in the middle of
- 5:03Speaker 6: the town. So every one of us are paying more
- 5:06Speaker 6: for everything we try and build. Delays effected in unions
- 5:10Speaker 6: of running closed shops. They've shut down the Cross River
- 5:12Speaker 6: rail project, a project that's tripled or quadrupled in price
- 5:16Speaker 6: in Brisbane, for instance. So it's not just Victoria, it's
- 5:20Speaker 6: not just Queensland. In the Act, they're now saying they
- 5:23Speaker 6: one us great at say on what happens in the
- 5:25Speaker 6: government there. All around the country, Tens of millions of
- 5:29Speaker 6: dollars have gone to the labor Party as donations. You know,
- 5:33Speaker 6: that's why they haven't acted on it, and that is
- 5:36Speaker 6: the reality that Australians are suffering from, and that's.
- 5:39Speaker 4: The frightening part about it, Gary spot On.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Now, Green's leader Adam Bant says the party has replaced
- 5:45Speaker 3: Labor as the quote authentic party of the center left.
- 5:49Speaker 3: In a pre election challenged Anthony Albanezi, Adam Band says
- 5:53Speaker 3: the minor party would adopt stronger policies to fight and equality,
- 5:57Speaker 3: strengthen the social safety net and sharpen Australia is.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Foreign policy independence.
- 6:02Speaker 3: God help us Gary in the event of a minority
- 6:05Speaker 3: government under the Labor Greens Party, and.
- 6:09Speaker 6: Good on Denega for calling it out because it really
- 6:12Speaker 6: is a case of we will need God's intervention here.
- 6:14Speaker 6: This is a mob who believe in no nations. They
- 6:17Speaker 6: actually believe in internationalism. They believe in subscribing to what
- 6:21Speaker 6: it is the woke left are doing to the world
- 6:24Speaker 6: right now, and be at climate change, be at the
- 6:26Speaker 6: COVID crisis that they confected. They do not want nations
- 6:30Speaker 6: to have currencies of their own. They want internationalized currencies
- 6:34Speaker 6: through things like cryptocurrency. They want control of every part
- 6:38Speaker 6: of our daily life. And if you again want to
- 6:41Speaker 6: talk about cost of living factors, this green tape that's
- 6:44Speaker 6: been introduced into every building project, the way in which
- 6:48Speaker 6: homes can't be built now unless they conform to international requirements.
- 6:52Speaker 6: Add to that the Blue Tape from the United Nations,
- 6:55Speaker 6: and you can factor in, for that matter, the Black
- 6:57Speaker 6: tape associated with Indigenous rights. Driven by this extreme green
- 7:02Speaker 6: agenda and the red tape of government. We are drowning.
- 7:05Speaker 6: We are drowning on all of this tape. And when
- 7:08Speaker 6: you see somebody a great Australian, one of the greatest
- 7:10Speaker 6: living Australians, Jena Reinhardt, Jenna Reinhardt had forty nine hundred
- 7:15Speaker 6: and fifty different pieces of paper forms she had to
- 7:18Speaker 6: fill in for that massive roy Hill mining project. You know,
- 7:22Speaker 6: the biggest iron ore state of Australia, Western Australia, and
- 7:26Speaker 6: the biggest iron ore mine in that state had forty
- 7:28Speaker 6: nine hundred and fifty pieces of approval. The Green's dream
- 7:32Speaker 6: for Australia is for us to drown in that sort
- 7:35Speaker 6: of bureaucracy and for our lives to be controlled.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Meanwhile, they'll have a happy time, Thank you very much.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Yeah, good luck to us with the de facto Prime
- 7:43Speaker 3: Minister Adam Bant.
- 7:44Speaker 4: That's going to be a disaster. Gary, Now I have.
- 7:47Speaker 3: A look at this polling because support for the Federal
- 7:49Speaker 3: Coalition has increased as the majority of Ossie's believed the
- 7:53Speaker 3: country is heading in the wrong direction.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Who would have thought that's according to the latest Resolved
- 7:58Speaker 4: Strategic poll.
- 7:59Speaker 3: In nine news papers, it found the Coalition has increased
- 8:03Speaker 3: its primary vote from thirty six to thirty eight percent
- 8:06Speaker 3: compared to Labours twenty eight percent, the lowest level it's
- 8:10Speaker 3: been since the Prime Minister took office. Gary, how should
- 8:13Speaker 3: we read this boost for the Coalition?
- 8:17Speaker 6: Well, I hope it encourages Peter Dutton to continue to
- 8:19Speaker 6: do what he's been doing, and that is to think
- 8:21Speaker 6: not just about the next election, but the next generation.
- 8:24Speaker 6: To think in a way that says, how do we
- 8:26Speaker 6: build a stronger and greater Australia. To borrow a paraphrase
- 8:30Speaker 6: from another great person in the Northern Hemisphere, I mean
- 8:34Speaker 6: Peter Dutton has to imagine what Australia needs to be
- 8:37Speaker 6: in twenty years from now. It's not just about twenty
- 8:41Speaker 6: weeks from now when an election might be called.
- 8:43Speaker 1: This has to be about nation building.
- 8:45Speaker 6: It has to be about purpose, about delivering on the
- 8:47Speaker 6: Australian promise that so many people have migrated to this
- 8:50Speaker 6: country wanted. They came here for better opportunities, They came
- 8:54Speaker 6: here because they wanted their kids to be able to
- 8:57Speaker 6: achieve better than they themselves have achieved.
- 9:00Speaker 1: So Peter Dutton has to continue to.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Outline that, you know, nuclear power is one element of it,
- 9:04Speaker 6: because what he's saying is let's end the moratorium, let's
- 9:07Speaker 6: stop turning our back on this as a form of
- 9:10Speaker 6: electricity generation. So I think that kind of momentum will
- 9:15Speaker 6: continue providing Peter Dutton is allowed to be unfettered by
- 9:19Speaker 6: those from the left within the Liberal Party, and there
- 9:22Speaker 6: are those who are trying to drag him away from
- 9:24Speaker 6: this kind of forward thinking agenda, and I think he'll
- 9:27Speaker 6: get rewards. But look, Tanika, thirty eight doesn't win you
- 9:30Speaker 6: an election. It's got to have a four in front
- 9:32Speaker 6: of it. Twenty eight certainly shouldn't win you an election,
- 9:35Speaker 6: but Anthony Albanezi Snack came on thirty two point six
- 9:38Speaker 6: percent last time plus Green preferences, so the possibility of
- 9:41Speaker 6: those crazy Greens running Australia is real. And Dutton has
- 9:46Speaker 6: to be given the support he needs to do the
- 9:49Speaker 6: job that Australia has to have done for it.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Absolutely, you're right.
- 9:54Speaker 3: It's now imperative on Peter Dutton to keep going with
- 9:57Speaker 3: this narrative because.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Another few more year he is of elbow.
- 10:01Speaker 7: No.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Thank you, Gary Hargrave, good to have you on. Thanks
- 10:03Speaker 4: for joining us.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Well.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Donald Trump is America's survivor, making the entrance of all
- 10:10Speaker 3: entrances at the Republican Convention in his first appearance since.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Surviving an assassination attempt.
- 10:17Speaker 7: Please he is welcome the next President of the United States,
- 10:22Speaker 7: Donald J.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Trump, you have.
- 10:39Speaker 8: Tomorrow to live work from my life.
- 10:50Speaker 9: Who died?
- 10:53Speaker 3: It looks just like a scene out of Rocky, doesn't it,
- 10:57Speaker 3: complete with the bandaged ear had Lisa to the crowd.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Raw Trump is now America's survivor.
- 11:04Speaker 10: Now.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Someone who was in the crowd at the time was Skyny,
- 11:07Speaker 3: his host to Caroline Derusso, who had a front row
- 11:10Speaker 3: seat at the Republican Convention. Caroline, thank you so much
- 11:14Speaker 3: for joining us. What was it like being there?
- 11:17Speaker 4: Describe the atmosphere to us.
- 11:21Speaker 11: Well, it's actually been really interesting. I've been there all
- 11:24Speaker 11: day and even from very early on in the day
- 11:27Speaker 11: when things were just warming up. You could really see
- 11:30Speaker 11: that there was only one show in town. It was
- 11:35Speaker 11: just so completely disciplined.
- 11:37Speaker 4: All day.
- 11:38Speaker 9: It was all about Donald Trump.
- 11:41Speaker 11: It was all about obviously him surviving the assassination attempt
- 11:45Speaker 11: on the weekend. The delegates gave their votes earlier in
- 11:49Speaker 11: the day for the nomination. Then obviously we had the
- 11:54Speaker 11: announcement of A.
- 11:55Speaker 9: JD.
- 11:56Speaker 11: Vance as the vice president candidate. But what was just
- 12:02Speaker 11: so interesting was it was all about Trump. Everyone has
- 12:06Speaker 11: been energized all day. There has just been so much enthusiasm,
- 12:12Speaker 11: and Americans are enthusiastic anyway, but the man arrives and
- 12:17Speaker 11: the crowd just almost.
- 12:18Speaker 9: Didn't know what to do with themselves.
- 12:20Speaker 12: All day.
- 12:21Speaker 11: They have been Donald Trump and God bless America absolutely.
- 12:25Speaker 3: And have a look at this vision here of when
- 12:26Speaker 3: Trump came in at the crowds.
- 12:28Speaker 4: This is what happened. Incredible is it a Caroline? They
- 12:43Speaker 4: love him.
- 12:43Speaker 3: They're chanting fight, fight, Fight. How momentous was that moment.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I mean, he survives an assassination attempt just days ago,
- 12:52Speaker 3: and here he is now standing proud at the convention.
- 12:57Speaker 11: And he has always said that he was all about
- 13:01Speaker 11: fighting for the everyday American and it's like it doesn't
- 13:04Speaker 11: matter what gets thrown at him, he keeps going. And
- 13:08Speaker 11: they do want things to be different. They do want
- 13:10Speaker 11: people to fight for them. And you know what's been
- 13:12Speaker 11: really interesting, Danika, Much like a lot of the conversation
- 13:15Speaker 11: we've been having at home in Australia.
- 13:17Speaker 9: It's all about cost of living.
- 13:19Speaker 11: It's all about housing, it's all about inflation, it's all
- 13:21Speaker 11: about the cost of petrol.
- 13:24Speaker 9: So people just want opportunity.
- 13:26Speaker 11: People want someone to fight for them so that the
- 13:29Speaker 11: America that they know and love they can have back.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Yeah. Absolutely, I think your spot on there now.
- 13:35Speaker 3: There was also an iconic YMCA trup dancing montage that
- 13:39Speaker 3: I played to the crowd.
- 13:40Speaker 1: This was it.
- 13:40Speaker 4: We've got a bit of it for.
- 13:41Speaker 13: Us, Caroline, did you dance and clap along too?
- 14:06Speaker 4: To the YMCA.
- 14:09Speaker 9: This was actually my highlight of the whole day.
- 14:12Speaker 11: It was so well done, it was so sassy and
- 14:15Speaker 11: the crowds you quite right, everyone was dancing along. Everyone
- 14:19Speaker 11: was absolutely in the best spirits. But obviously we see
- 14:23Speaker 11: little bits of those clips.
- 14:24Speaker 9: It was great that they put them all together.
- 14:27Speaker 11: They put it to my NCAA which for us in
- 14:30Speaker 11: Australia is probably a little cheesy.
- 14:32Speaker 9: Because it's not something that we would.
- 14:34Speaker 11: Do necessarily, but the Republican audience in America absolutely loved it.
- 14:39Speaker 11: That there was my highlight of the day, to be honest,
- 14:42Speaker 11: that's also it's certainly look why everyone was having so
- 14:44Speaker 11: much fun in that moment.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Now, Caroline, there was a real hilarious moment at the
- 14:49Speaker 3: convention when Donald Trump Junior told an MSNBC reporter to
- 14:54Speaker 3: get lost after he started lying about his father.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Have a look at this clip.
- 14:59Speaker 14: What is that change going to look like?
- 15:00Speaker 15: Don what practically your father as president? I think you
- 15:03Speaker 15: would even say it was a divisive figure. What's it
- 15:05Speaker 15: going to look like in the second term.
- 15:06Speaker 10: I don't think he was a divisive figure at all.
- 15:08Speaker 10: I think the media created divisiveness around him. They lied
- 15:11Speaker 10: about Russia, Russia collusion, They said he was a trader.
- 15:13Speaker 10: They went after him in every which way is possible
- 15:16Speaker 10: if the media actually starts being an honest broker talking
- 15:19Speaker 10: about the things that he did, the prosperity he brought,
- 15:21Speaker 10: the peace deals that he signed around the world, rather
- 15:24Speaker 10: than the disaster that we're living right now. I think
- 15:26Speaker 10: you do everyone in the country big favor.
- 15:27Speaker 15: I know if aggration's important, Jim, I covered the family
- 15:29Speaker 15: separation crisis closely. When we continue to see policies like
- 15:33Speaker 15: separating five thousand children deliberately from their parents.
- 15:36Speaker 10: You mean the Obama administration, and which you know they
- 15:38Speaker 10: didn't do that, sir, Sure will there be a second
- 15:41Speaker 10: family separation policy? It's MSDNC. So I expect nothing less
- 15:45Speaker 10: from you clowns, even today, even forty eight hours later.
- 15:47Speaker 10: You couldn't wait. You couldn't wait with your lives and
- 15:50Speaker 10: with your nonsense. So just get out of.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Here, Caroline.
- 15:54Speaker 3: How's the nerve of the left wing media? And got
- 15:57Speaker 3: on him for telling them where to go?
- 16:00Speaker 9: And it knows no bounds.
- 16:02Speaker 11: This is the exact same media that has been running
- 16:04Speaker 11: a protection racket for the president for the last two years,
- 16:08Speaker 11: as you and I and many others have seen him
- 16:11Speaker 11: absolutely slip over that period of time, and then all
- 16:15Speaker 11: of a sudden after that debate, they are all immediately
- 16:19Speaker 11: shocked that the president is looking a little old, in
- 16:23Speaker 11: a little frowl and might not quite be up to it.
- 16:25Speaker 11: That is exactly the same media that John Trump Junior
- 16:30Speaker 11: was talking to there. So look, there is a massive
- 16:34Speaker 11: ass covering exercise going on in the mainstream media at
- 16:37Speaker 11: the US. It feels like at the moment and that
- 16:39Speaker 11: there what he got, he absolutely deserved.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Absolutely, he totally deserved that. Good on Donald Trump Jr.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Now, speaking of Eric Trump, he has described the attempted
- 16:50Speaker 3: assassination of his father as scary as hell. In an
- 16:53Speaker 3: exclusive interview with Sky New's Washington correspondent and Alisa Wilson.
- 16:57Speaker 4: At that convention, just spokely, how's you a doing.
- 17:01Speaker 2: He's doing well, He's doing well.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Scary as hell.
- 17:03Speaker 10: That should not happen. You know, we will size life
- 17:07Speaker 10: Larry flash before our eyes and who was far or
- 17:09Speaker 10: too close?
- 17:10Speaker 2: It should never have happened.
- 17:11Speaker 10: But these remarkable waters got tremendous spirit and now we're
- 17:14Speaker 10: going to win this.
- 17:15Speaker 3: MCNAMA seeing yeah, Caroline, that gives us a bit of
- 17:18Speaker 3: a glimpse of just how terrifying it really was for
- 17:20Speaker 3: the whole family.
- 17:21Speaker 4: It did look as though security was beefed.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Up at the convention, especially when Donald Trump walked in.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Did you notice extra security there?
- 17:31Speaker 9: Well, all day?
- 17:33Speaker 11: And obviously I've not been to a convention before, so
- 17:36Speaker 11: I don't have a previous example to compare it to.
- 17:39Speaker 9: But from the very moment that we all arrived today.
- 17:42Speaker 11: There was a lot of security, and there was security
- 17:45Speaker 11: absolutely everywhere. Obviously all of our bags got checked on
- 17:49Speaker 11: the way and we all got scanned.
- 17:51Speaker 9: They had ones and everything.
- 17:53Speaker 11: You know, fences up all around, police and police not
- 17:58Speaker 11: just secret but you know, police from all around the
- 18:02Speaker 11: country here at the convention. So there's a huge amount
- 18:05Speaker 11: of security at the event, which no doubt there would
- 18:08Speaker 11: have been to an extent anyway, but given the events
- 18:11Speaker 11: of the weekend, it's totally understandable.
- 18:14Speaker 9: And for Eric Trump, you know, we can talk about
- 18:17Speaker 9: this person, the president all we like.
- 18:19Speaker 11: He is still someone's father, right, he still has family,
- 18:22Speaker 11: and I'm sure for that family, it was an absolutely
- 18:25Speaker 11: terrifying moment to think that someone was aiming a gun
- 18:28Speaker 11: at your parent.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Oh, it's unfathomable, to say the least.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Caroline Derus, so great to have you on. Good to
- 18:35Speaker 3: hear about your experiences at the convention.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Thanks for joining us.
- 18:39Speaker 9: Pleasure still to come.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Left He's a losing it Trump derangement syndrome Addition Volume
- 18:46Speaker 3: two and Josh Hamer on Trump's VP pick.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Is it a smart choice? Now?
- 19:00Speaker 3: It's time for lefties losing it. It's what you've been
- 19:03Speaker 3: waiting for. Here is another edition of Trump derangement syndrome,
- 19:09Speaker 3: talk about warped and weird. Starting with our friends over
- 19:13Speaker 3: at the View for their odd.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Take on the assassination attempt.
- 19:18Speaker 16: It was, you know, a twenty year old lone wolf,
- 19:23Speaker 16: white whack job with easy access toy gun. And we
- 19:28Speaker 16: have to have a conversation about that because it wasn't
- 19:30Speaker 16: a drag queen, it wasn't an immigrant, it wasn't a
- 19:34Speaker 16: pissed off liberal woman.
- 19:35Speaker 17: The shooter, Yes, it was a twenty year old kitchen
- 19:39Speaker 17: worker from nearby Bethel Park in Pennsylvania. According to a
- 19:43Speaker 17: CNN reporter, Senior law enforcement officials said that he bought
- 19:46Speaker 17: fifty rounds of ammunition from a local gun store hours
- 19:49Speaker 17: before the rally. Shouldn't that have been reported? Somebody buys
- 19:53Speaker 17: a twenty year old white guy. I mean we've seen
- 19:55Speaker 17: that many times now, young white men with guns.
- 19:59Speaker 3: He's a view seriously trying to blame this all on
- 20:03Speaker 3: white men.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Of course they are. What else would we expect from
- 20:07Speaker 4: those loons?
- 20:09Speaker 3: Now Here is a fascinating account of what happened in Pennsylvania.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Take it away, jenck Huga.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Hey, guys, Trump's beans shot.
- 20:18Speaker 15: When he got up, he was bleeding from the ear,
- 20:20Speaker 15: but he seemed perfectly fine.
- 20:22Speaker 2: He's not dead, He's fine. Like my best guess, and
- 20:25Speaker 2: this is just a guess, because he was just shot,
- 20:28Speaker 2: is that he.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Was.
- 20:31Speaker 2: It looked like a BB gun or something.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yes, ober to you, FBI, it was a BB gun.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Now has someone checked in on this next guy because
- 20:40Speaker 3: he seems to have given attempted murders a heck of
- 20:43Speaker 3: a lot of thought.
- 20:44Speaker 5: I'm not saying that I will ever try to assassinate
- 20:47Speaker 5: a presidential candidate. All I'm saying is that if I
- 20:49Speaker 5: went through all of that trouble, I wouldn't miss I
- 20:53Speaker 5: wouldn't raise that, he wouldn't be able to raise a fist.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I would finish the shun.
- 21:00Speaker 4: What can we say? The left truly unhinged lunatics.
- 21:05Speaker 18: A few people who think it was staged HI, And
- 21:09Speaker 18: to be fair, I've seen employees at Clayer's with the ram.
- 21:12Speaker 18: I guess when you have bone spurs that bad, that's
- 21:14Speaker 18: the closest you're actually going to get to any action.
- 21:17Speaker 18: But as they say, in any other p PW related incident,
- 21:21Speaker 18: I thought some prayers, I guess no thought.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Some prayers for you, my dear, and check out Tenacious
- 21:28Speaker 3: D at their concert right here in Australia.
- 21:42Speaker 9: Do this trump next time?
- 21:50Speaker 4: And that was Todacious D taking D for deranged a
- 21:54Speaker 4: little too seriously. Deport them, get rid of them. What
- 21:57Speaker 4: do I want you here now? Wouldn't be left.
- 22:00Speaker 3: He's losing it without the gender benders. Here is a
- 22:03Speaker 3: brand spaking. You use a manual to know if you're
- 22:07Speaker 3: gender fluid.
- 22:09Speaker 2: You have tried to be trans.
- 22:13Speaker 19: There are some days that you just aren't, and you
- 22:17Speaker 19: know you're not sis Number two, if you've ever tracked
- 22:20Speaker 19: your gender fluctuations to try to get sense of this
- 22:22Speaker 19: whole thing. Tracking your gender like clears everything up. Number three,
- 22:27Speaker 19: you taught yourself to tuck or pack or tried on
- 22:29Speaker 19: some fake boobs and it felt so right that you
- 22:31Speaker 19: cried so much that you didn't want to take them off,
- 22:33Speaker 19: But then the next day they didn't feel like anything
- 22:37Speaker 19: at all. Number four, you have come out at least
- 22:40Speaker 19: three times as three different things. I'm bisexual, No, I'm pansexual, No,
- 22:46Speaker 19: I'm trans, No, I'm gender fluid. No, I'm a gender
- 22:50Speaker 19: fluid trans woman.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Look, I know the.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Feeling I too, have come out at least three times
- 22:55Speaker 3: as three different things, tired, hungry, and grumpy, happy all
- 23:00Speaker 3: the time. Maybe I need that user friendly manual. Now
- 23:03Speaker 3: we all know about National Pride.
- 23:05Speaker 4: We'll move over. There's a new kid in town. Did
- 23:09Speaker 4: you know?
- 23:10Speaker 7: Pan Pride is a day meant to recognize pen sexual
- 23:13Speaker 7: and pan romantics people's efforts to be accepted and understood within.
- 23:16Speaker 12: The community, whereas Pan Visibility Day, which is on me
- 23:20Speaker 12: twenty fourth, is aimed to celebrate and recognize those who
- 23:24Speaker 12: identify with pan sexuality or are pan romantic.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Now, look, admittedly I thought she was talking there about
- 23:30Speaker 3: frying pans, but thank goodness she clarified that one.
- 23:33Speaker 7: Today, when it comes to romantic and sexual attraction, many
- 23:36Speaker 7: pan sexual people refer to themselves as genderblind. This is
- 23:40Speaker 7: usually defined as not being limited in sexual choice with
- 23:44Speaker 7: regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity.
- 23:48Speaker 4: So not talking about kitchen utensils. Whoops.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Now this college student who identifies as non binary is
- 23:54Speaker 3: lending a helping hand, offering some words of wisdom on
- 23:58Speaker 3: how kids can notify their teachers before the school year
- 24:01Speaker 3: begins that they too are non binary.
- 24:04Speaker 20: So let's talk about an easy way to go about
- 24:06Speaker 20: that and maybe avoid that first day like embarrassing moments.
- 24:09Speaker 4: So what I did for most.
- 24:11Speaker 20: Of high school where I was out as non binary,
- 24:14Speaker 20: I emailed all of my teachers beforehand. It's good to
- 24:16Speaker 20: get that over with ahead of time.
- 24:18Speaker 9: And it saves you having to do it face to face.
- 24:20Speaker 20: It saves them from dead naming you, misgendering you in
- 24:23Speaker 20: front of a group, and then you having to correct them,
- 24:25Speaker 20: which is a whole hassle. So it's really easy to
- 24:28Speaker 20: do this, or you can even handwrite a note if
- 24:30Speaker 20: you can't email them, and give it to them right.
- 24:33Speaker 9: As you walk in the door.
- 24:34Speaker 20: And I hope that saves a little bit of embarrassment
- 24:36Speaker 20: and stress and discomfort and just dysphoria for anyone who's
- 24:42Speaker 20: starting off the school year and is a little nervous.
- 24:44Speaker 20: As a future teacher, I know that a lot of
- 24:45Speaker 20: teachers want to help the.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Well, apparently that's the future of the education department right there,
- 24:50Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen. Not even schools a safe from the lefties,
- 24:54Speaker 3: And take a look at this ingenious proposal for kids.
- 24:58Speaker 21: Can't trust a child to themselves and their body.
- 25:02Speaker 11: Therefore, I propose that at all children be put on
- 25:05Speaker 11: puberty blockers before they hit puberty.
- 25:08Speaker 21: If they're not trans, cool, they can get off puberty
- 25:11Speaker 21: blockers and continue puberty as they were. And if they
- 25:15Speaker 21: are trends, then you just save them a lot of
- 25:18Speaker 21: emotional pain from the secondary sex characteristics they have.
- 25:21Speaker 4: If you say that.
- 25:22Speaker 21: Kids are too young to know whether or not they
- 25:25Speaker 21: are trans, then that means that kids are too young
- 25:27Speaker 21: to know whether or not they are sis.
- 25:29Speaker 4: You know, she's exactly how I pictured her to look.
- 25:32Speaker 3: They all look the same, don't they when they make
- 25:34Speaker 3: their deranged commentary?
- 25:35Speaker 4: Of course? I mean it makes total sense destroy a.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Generation with puberty blockers in case they may or may
- 25:42Speaker 3: not want to give the trans world a crack. Now,
- 25:45Speaker 3: do everyone's favorite transactivist Jeffrey Mush been waiting for him
- 25:49Speaker 3: to pop up?
- 25:50Speaker 4: Well, cue that juke box, jeff ew leg hair always
- 26:06Speaker 4: got me in the mood.
- 26:07Speaker 3: And guess what JKI Rowling still leaves rent free in
- 26:11Speaker 3: his head?
- 26:12Speaker 8: Is JK Rowling part of a global hate group?
- 26:16Speaker 2: The United Nations said Yes.
- 26:20Speaker 8: UN Women released a statement, this is the Council at
- 26:24Speaker 8: the United Nations that looks at women's rights globally. They
- 26:28Speaker 8: announced the statement saying the gender critical movement, which is
- 26:31Speaker 8: what they call themselves aka the Turfs, are part of
- 26:37Speaker 8: a global movement to undermine women's rights. Turfs hold a
- 26:42Speaker 8: hierarchy in their mind of which women are better than
- 26:46Speaker 8: other women and like my eyes were like BOI at
- 26:50Speaker 8: this part of the statement, Turfs are involved in these
- 26:54Speaker 8: interesting hobbies in addition to undermining feminism around the world.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Here's your definitive answer.
- 27:03Speaker 8: Every time somebody is like JK. Rowling is not she's
- 27:05Speaker 8: not really transphobic as she send them over to the
- 27:09Speaker 8: United Nations. Thanks for fighting, and thank you for being
- 27:12Speaker 8: part of our movement of peace and love and kindness.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Bye, oh, Jeffrey, the United Nations. What a credible organization.
- 27:22Speaker 3: And we have to end on CN and commentator Van
- 27:26Speaker 3: Jones losing his mind over Trump's u VP jd Vance.
- 27:31Speaker 22: Jd Vance is an ideological nationalist. That's a much more
- 27:36Speaker 22: dangerous virus because he can make this You can polish
- 27:39Speaker 22: this stuff and make it seem palatable to people. He
- 27:42Speaker 22: can sell this stuff to Silicon Valley, you can sell
- 27:45Speaker 22: this stuff other places.
- 27:46Speaker 1: And when it does, is it locks.
- 27:48Speaker 22: The Republican Party on a pathway that I think is
- 27:50Speaker 22: dangerous for the world again. The Ukrainians are now in
- 27:53Speaker 22: deep trouble. NATO is now in deep trouble. Trump, is
- 27:57Speaker 22: you get gone with Nikki Haley and single to the world.
- 28:00Speaker 22: Hey listen, I got a gift stuff to my base,
- 28:02Speaker 22: but I'm not going to abandon the world.
- 28:04Speaker 1: This pick is a horror on the world stage.
- 28:08Speaker 4: Well, it's the news we have been waiting for.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Ohio Senator jd Vance has been selected by Donald Trump
- 28:15Speaker 3: as his vice president.
- 28:17Speaker 23: This is an announcement on truth social by former President Trump.
- 28:20Speaker 23: He has selected Ohio Senator jd Vance as his vice
- 28:25Speaker 23: presidential pick.
- 28:26Speaker 4: And this is what he writes.
- 28:27Speaker 23: After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents
- 28:32Speaker 23: of many others, I have decided that the person best
- 28:34Speaker 23: suited to assume the position of Vice President of the
- 28:37Speaker 23: United States is jed Vance of the great state of Ohio.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Joining me now is Newsweek Senior Editor at Large and
- 28:45Speaker 3: Article three Projects Senior Counsel, Josh Hammer.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Josh, great to see you.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Look, it was only a few months ago you actually
- 28:53Speaker 3: made the case for jd Vance. Tell us a bit
- 28:56Speaker 3: about him and why you think he is. Indeed, the
- 28:59Speaker 3: best pick to be Trump's running night.
- 29:02Speaker 24: Yeah, look, I am thrilled. I am absolutely overjoyed. I
- 29:07Speaker 24: am over the moon for someone who I've considered to
- 29:09Speaker 24: be a friend for a few years.
- 29:11Speaker 14: Now, which is JD.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Evans.
- 29:12Speaker 14: And it's not just that he's a personal friend.
- 29:14Speaker 24: He actually also happens to be the very best pick
- 29:17Speaker 24: that Donald Trump could have made at this precise moment.
- 29:19Speaker 14: So let me explain why that is the case.
- 29:21Speaker 24: If you go from twenty sixteen to twenty twenty, and
- 29:24Speaker 24: you compare Trump's exit polling from one election to the next,
- 29:27Speaker 24: he actually made inroads in basically every demographic imaginable, whether
- 29:31Speaker 24: it's Blacks, Latinos, young voters, immigrants, essentially every demographic other
- 29:37Speaker 24: than the demographics that actually delivered him the twenty sixteen election,
- 29:40Speaker 24: White working class and middle class voters, especially in the
- 29:43Speaker 24: Heartland in the Midwest, in the rust belt areas, places
- 29:46Speaker 24: like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, the voters who came out and
- 29:49Speaker 24: droves to deliver those three key Midwestern states to Donald
- 29:53Speaker 24: Trump in twenty sixteen.
- 29:54Speaker 14: JD.
- 29:55Speaker 24: Evans is the guy who literally wrote the best selling
- 29:57Speaker 24: book Hill Billy Elgy. He is the guy who can
- 30:00Speaker 24: bring those voters back to home on the campaign trail.
- 30:03Speaker 24: He's also someone who's only thirty nine years old. I'm
- 30:05Speaker 24: thirty five. We're both millennials. JD speaks, I think to
- 30:08Speaker 24: our generation's frustrations with how our prior generations, how the
- 30:12Speaker 24: Boomers frankly have really sold out younger Americans when it
- 30:16Speaker 24: comes to the neoliberal agenda, when it comes to free
- 30:19Speaker 24: trade as a value unto itself. But you know, it
- 30:21Speaker 24: happens to be that that trade comes up the expense
- 30:24Speaker 24: of manufacturing of resilient supply chains and good, well paying jobs.
- 30:28Speaker 24: Here on the home front, it happens to be that
- 30:30Speaker 24: those neoliberal elites of the boomer generation have engaged in
- 30:34Speaker 24: all sorts of effeckless boondoggles overseas. On a foreign policy
- 30:38Speaker 24: state here, JD. Van is a very eloquent spokesman for
- 30:41Speaker 24: those particular causes there. He's also just in line with
- 30:45Speaker 24: where the party is right now. He is the man
- 30:47Speaker 24: for the moment. His views on the future of the right,
- 30:49Speaker 24: on the future of American conservatism, on the future of
- 30:52Speaker 24: all the major issues immigration, trade, foreign policy, political economy.
- 30:55Speaker 14: He is in touch.
- 30:56Speaker 24: He has his finger on the pulse and he's very, very,
- 30:59Speaker 24: very well spoken on the campaign trail as well. He's
- 31:02Speaker 24: the right peck And again, I'm just so personally thrilled
- 31:05Speaker 24: at this.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Oh look, I mean, I think you're right as well
- 31:07Speaker 3: about that youth factor because he brings something different to
- 31:11Speaker 3: the table.
- 31:12Speaker 4: I've got to say. Josh's interesting because.
- 31:14Speaker 3: It hasn't always been smooth sailing for JD. Vance and Trump.
- 31:18Speaker 3: He once called him America's hitler. But here is JD.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Van's admitting that he was wrong about the former president.
- 31:26Speaker 25: I didn't think he was going to be good President Brett.
- 31:28Speaker 25: He was a great president, and it's one of the
- 31:30Speaker 25: reasons why I'm working so hard to make sure he
- 31:31Speaker 25: gets a second term. I think you should when you're
- 31:34Speaker 25: wrong about something, you should change your mind and be
- 31:37Speaker 25: honest with people about that fact.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Josh's JD.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Van's a bit of a secret weapon almost because he's
- 31:44Speaker 3: about to convert more people like he had to himself.
- 31:48Speaker 24: Yeah, you know, I find that very relatable because it's
- 31:51Speaker 24: very similar to my own trajectory. So back in twenty
- 31:54Speaker 24: sixteen in the Republican presidential primary, I was just graduating
- 31:57Speaker 24: law school at the time. I was a very outspoken
- 31:58Speaker 24: supporter the time of Senator Ted Cruz's presidential campaign, and
- 32:02Speaker 24: I actually got a shout out and as I will
- 32:04Speaker 24: call because his victory speech. I was very active in
- 32:06Speaker 24: the Ted Cruz campaign. And I also had a very
- 32:08Speaker 24: harsh language for Donald Trump at that time. I don't
- 32:11Speaker 24: think I literally called him America's hitler, but there were
- 32:14Speaker 24: many of us who were caught of who were caught
- 32:16Speaker 24: up in the moment. It was a very important presidential primary,
- 32:18Speaker 24: is a very important election in twenty sixteen.
- 32:20Speaker 14: And like JD.
- 32:22Speaker 24: Vans, and like so many others, I have been one over.
- 32:24Speaker 24: Donald Trump had a very successful four years as president.
- 32:28Speaker 24: Did he make mistakes. Sure, I would not have handled
- 32:30Speaker 24: COVID nineteen lockdowns and vaccines, for instance, the exact same
- 32:33Speaker 24: way that he did. But by and large he was
- 32:36Speaker 24: an extraordinarily successful president. The world was very stable, it
- 32:39Speaker 24: was peaceful, There were no major wars at that time.
- 32:41Speaker 24: The economy was thriving. The black unemployment rate here in
- 32:45Speaker 24: America reached reach's absolute lowest number and the entire history
- 32:49Speaker 24: of that statistic. The economy was roaring, the stock market
- 32:52Speaker 24: was soaring. I could go on and on here. So
- 32:54Speaker 24: at this point I mean, who cares, really seriously, who
- 32:57Speaker 24: cares what you said eight years ago? It matters whether
- 33:01Speaker 24: or not you are a passionate supporter of the president's
- 33:04Speaker 24: agenda right now, and jend Vans clearly is that.
- 33:08Speaker 4: I absolutely completely agree.
- 33:09Speaker 3: I mean, it's what matters now that counts for sure.
- 33:13Speaker 4: Now, look, let's talk about the ridiculous.
- 33:15Speaker 3: And inflammatory rhetoric we've seen from Joe Biden and the
- 33:19Speaker 3: Democrats that led to the attempt on Trump's life.
- 33:22Speaker 26: Donald Trump is a genuine threat to this nation.
- 33:26Speaker 4: There's a threat to our freedom. There's a threat to
- 33:29Speaker 4: our democracy.
- 33:31Speaker 26: He's literally a threat for everything America stands for. They
- 33:35Speaker 26: fan the flames of political violence that are a threat
- 33:40Speaker 26: to our personal rights.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Most importantly, I mean this from.
- 33:44Speaker 4: The bottom of art. Trump is a threat to this nation.
- 33:47Speaker 3: And as we know, Biden also told donors, we're done
- 33:50Speaker 3: talking about the debate. It's time to put Trump in
- 33:53Speaker 3: a bull's eye. But here is Joe Biden overnight having
- 33:57Speaker 3: very public hallucinations denying he engaged in such insightful rhetoric.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Have you taken a step back and done a little
- 34:05Speaker 2: soul searching on things that you may have said that
- 34:08Speaker 2: could incite people who are not balanced. Well, I don't think.
- 34:15Speaker 26: Look, how do you talk about the threat to democracy,
- 34:20Speaker 26: which is real when a president says things like he says,
- 34:24Speaker 26: do you just not say anim he's a man insite somebody. Look,
- 34:28Speaker 26: I have not engaged in that rhetoric. Now my opponents
- 34:34Speaker 26: engaged in that rhetoric. He talks about to be a
- 34:37Speaker 26: blood bat that he loses, talking about how you're going
- 34:40Speaker 26: to forgive all the actually I guess to spend the
- 34:45Speaker 26: sentences of all those who were arrested and sentenced to
- 34:49Speaker 26: go to jail because of what happened in the capitol.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Josh, the Biden gas lighting continues.
- 34:57Speaker 14: Yeah, it really does.
- 34:58Speaker 24: And look, one thing that I think it's worth focusing
- 35:01Speaker 24: on there. You know, they've used this this bloodbath talking
- 35:05Speaker 24: point now over and over again. They're saying that Donald
- 35:07Speaker 24: Trump is threatening a bloodbath. They're trying to portray this
- 35:10Speaker 24: this offhand comments as possibly foreshadowing a second January sixth,
- 35:15Speaker 24: you know, a nefarious insurrection of Republicans retakeover. That's that
- 35:19Speaker 24: comment was made in a very specific context where he
- 35:22Speaker 24: was talking about the fact that the auto industry in Detroit,
- 35:25Speaker 24: Michigan might face a bloodbath to the Biden administration's feckless
- 35:29Speaker 24: policies when it comes to EV's electric vehicles in China
- 35:33Speaker 24: and Mexico are not reversed when he is president. So
- 35:35Speaker 24: you know, they've taken this very very minor comment and
- 35:38Speaker 24: they have disingenuously gas left the American people into the
- 35:41Speaker 24: into the next coming of Hitler and Mussolini. It's disgusting stuff,
- 35:45Speaker 24: absolutely disgusting. But Joe Biden has absolutely positively been just
- 35:50Speaker 24: as guilty as MSNBC, as Rachel Maddow, as joy Read,
- 35:54Speaker 24: as any of the far left commentators here. He has
- 35:57Speaker 24: been personally just as guilty as any of them when
- 36:00Speaker 24: it comes to taking this rhetoric and taking a ten
- 36:02Speaker 24: thousand degrees hotter and more fiery than.
- 36:05Speaker 14: It should be.
- 36:06Speaker 24: But unfortunately, this is not an isolated phenomenon. The left
- 36:09Speaker 24: has a very long and sordid history in America of
- 36:13Speaker 24: taking talking points and then citing violence. Runner Unfortunately, this
- 36:16Speaker 24: is just the latest and starkest example. But these people
- 36:20Speaker 24: Joe Biden in his Oval Office address Sunday evening here
- 36:23Speaker 24: in America, if they are calling for unity and for
- 36:25Speaker 24: us to take down the temperature, do us all a
- 36:28Speaker 24: favor and look in the freaking mirror, because if you
- 36:31Speaker 24: are not willing to at least do that modest of
- 36:33Speaker 24: a step, then just shut up and go home.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Oh well, you spot on, because I've been hearing the
- 36:37Speaker 3: comments from the White House today. Are they going to
- 36:40Speaker 3: stop the inflammatory remarks? The view is that Trump and
- 36:45Speaker 3: the MAGA Republican agenda is a threat to democracy?
- 36:48Speaker 9: So how do you get.
- 36:49Speaker 11: That message across while bringing the temperature down?
- 36:53Speaker 9: How is that phrasing going to be your placed? Is it
- 36:55Speaker 9: going to your place?
- 36:56Speaker 15: Well?
- 36:56Speaker 27: Look, what I can say is this, we have our
- 36:59Speaker 27: different and it's okay to have our differences, and it
- 37:03Speaker 27: is okay to speak to someone's record, to speak to
- 37:06Speaker 27: someone's character.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Josha Caarrange, Jean Pierre.
- 37:10Speaker 3: They're basically confirming that all the Democrats have is the
- 37:13Speaker 3: heightful rhetoric up their slaves.
- 37:17Speaker 24: Well, you know what's funny is that Democrats are actually
- 37:21Speaker 24: starting to concede out in the open that they do
- 37:23Speaker 24: not think that Donald Trump is a threat to democracy.
- 37:26Speaker 24: And the reason that I know that is because you
- 37:28Speaker 24: have more and more Democrats, both in the commentator class
- 37:31Speaker 24: and the chattering class, as well as the elected official
- 37:34Speaker 24: class who are now just saying that they're fully expecting
- 37:37Speaker 24: a Trump when they know it's happening at this point.
- 37:40Speaker 24: To be clear, I mean, the Democrats have a lot
- 37:42Speaker 24: of tricks up their sleeves. I don't like this talk
- 37:45Speaker 24: that it's all over. We'll see, but he is looking good.
- 37:47Speaker 24: Donald Trump's obviously looking good. And you've now seen some
- 37:50Speaker 24: op eds like Jared Golden, a centrist Democrat from Maine,
- 37:53Speaker 24: who published an op ed a couple weeks ago saying
- 37:55Speaker 24: Donald Trump's going to win the election and that is okay.
- 37:58Speaker 24: And you've actually had an increasingly known, an increasingly large
- 38:00Speaker 24: number of Democrats actually now say this because they have
- 38:03Speaker 24: to run away from Joe Biden on the campaign trail
- 38:06Speaker 24: because he's so catastrophically unpopular.
- 38:08Speaker 14: But you can't have it both ways.
- 38:09Speaker 24: If you are okay with Donald Trump winning an election,
- 38:12Speaker 24: then by definition he is not an existential threat to democracy.
- 38:15Speaker 24: You literally just cannot possibly have this both ways. So look,
- 38:19Speaker 24: there actually is one movement in America right now that
- 38:23Speaker 24: is something of an existential threat to democracy. It is
- 38:26Speaker 24: the street thugs and hooligans of the far left. It
- 38:28Speaker 24: is the idiots who are out there the day after
- 38:30Speaker 24: the inauguration in twenty seventeen, under the guise of the
- 38:33Speaker 24: so called Women's March, that were vandalizing property and we're
- 38:36Speaker 24: smashing windows and looting back in Washington, DC in twenty seventeen.
- 38:39Speaker 24: These are the Black Lives Matter and TIFA radicals that
- 38:42Speaker 24: cost billions and billions of dollars of property damage and
- 38:44Speaker 24: untold other number of heinous offenses during the Saint George
- 38:48Speaker 24: Floyd's Summer of Love.
- 38:50Speaker 14: In twenty twenty.
- 38:51Speaker 24: And then these are the same pro Hamas people since
- 38:53Speaker 24: October seventh that are burning down America's university campuses. So
- 38:57Speaker 24: there actually is one movement in America that is a massive,
- 39:01Speaker 24: massive existential threat. Dare I say to democracy it is
- 39:04Speaker 24: not Donald Trump, it is not MAGA, it is not
- 39:06Speaker 24: America first. It is actually the street thugs of the
- 39:09Speaker 24: far left.
- 39:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I completely agree with you.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Now, look, Donald Trump has had a huge when the
- 39:14Speaker 3: judge has dismissed his indictment over mishandling classified documents.
- 39:19Speaker 28: This is massive news. We did not see this coming
- 39:22Speaker 28: at all. This is a case that she tentatively postponed
- 39:26Speaker 28: to a later date. The original trial was set for
- 39:28Speaker 28: the end of May. She moved it back a couple
- 39:31Speaker 28: of months, though not setting a date. She has just
- 39:33Speaker 28: dismissed it in a ninety three page court document saying
- 39:37Speaker 28: that Jack Smith, the Special Counsel's appointment violates the appropriation's
- 39:43Speaker 28: clause and the appointment's clause of the United States Constitution.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Josh explained this decision to us.
- 39:51Speaker 24: So this is a brilliant decision by Judge Canem. It
- 39:54Speaker 24: is vindication for those of us who have been seeing
- 39:57Speaker 24: exactly this for a while now. Justice Clarence Thomas on
- 40:00Speaker 24: the US Supreme Court recently gave this exact argument a
- 40:03Speaker 24: lot of purchase in his concurring opinion in the Trump
- 40:06Speaker 24: versus United States, the presidential communique case that came out
- 40:08Speaker 24: a couple weeks ago. So look the way it works here.
- 40:11Speaker 24: You know, you saw the Fox News commentator. We have
- 40:13Speaker 24: what's called the appointments clause in Article two of our Constitution.
- 40:17Speaker 24: Article two is what establishes the executive branch, and the
- 40:19Speaker 24: appointment's clause basically says that there are two types of
- 40:22Speaker 24: executive branch appointments. One, there are principal officers, meaning cabinet
- 40:27Speaker 24: officials basically cabinet heads. And for those officers. It's old
- 40:30Speaker 24: school advice and consent. So the President nominates and the
- 40:33Speaker 24: Senate confirms by a majority vote. Then you have inferior officers,
- 40:37Speaker 24: which a cabinet head can appoint on his own initiative,
- 40:40Speaker 24: but you still have to be able to do so,
- 40:42Speaker 24: quote unquote by law. That's the constitutional language. Now, the
- 40:46Speaker 24: obvious legal question is, does the Attorney General of the
- 40:49Speaker 24: United States, Merrick Garland, does he have the law to actually,
- 40:53Speaker 24: on his own initiative to unilaterally authorize the creation of
- 40:56Speaker 24: a brand new special council to investigate the foreign president
- 40:59Speaker 24: of the United States. It turns out that no, he
- 41:01Speaker 24: actually does not. If you go and actually look at
- 41:03Speaker 24: these statutes that Jack Smith purports to cite to give
- 41:06Speaker 24: him the authority to do so, there are four or
- 41:08Speaker 24: five random sub sections of other statutes that actually really
- 41:12Speaker 24: have nothing whatsoever to do with a special counsel. So
- 41:15Speaker 24: the actual authorization is not there. Congress did not authorize
- 41:18Speaker 24: him to take this action. So it's really just a
- 41:21Speaker 24: straightforward act of separation of powers. And you know, it's
- 41:25Speaker 24: funny because the judge here, Aileen Cannon here in Florida
- 41:27Speaker 24: where I live, she has been excoriated by the media
- 41:31Speaker 24: for the better part of a year now. They've been
- 41:33Speaker 24: calling her a maga judge, a Trump sick, a fan,
- 41:35Speaker 24: because she's being very slow and steadfast and fastidious and
- 41:38Speaker 24: meticulous in all of her various pre trial motions and hearings.
- 41:42Speaker 24: But you know what, she has been exactly right, because
- 41:44Speaker 24: we are an unchartered waters of uncharted waters here, we're
- 41:47Speaker 24: dealing with the first ever prosecution of a former president
- 41:51Speaker 24: of the United States. For God's sake, she's done the
- 41:54Speaker 24: correct and courageous thing here. The relevant question that I
- 41:57Speaker 24: have right now is whether or not the other District court,
- 42:00Speaker 24: in the other Special Council probe that'll be Tanya Chuck
- 42:03Speaker 24: and in the Washington d C probe the January sixth case,
- 42:05Speaker 24: will she go ahead and now do the exact same
- 42:08Speaker 24: thing that remins to be seen.
- 42:10Speaker 4: Well, we will find out soon.
- 42:11Speaker 3: But you're right, good honor for being so meticulous and
- 42:14Speaker 3: coming out with the right outcome. Josh Hamma, good to
- 42:17Speaker 3: speak with you, Thanks so much for joining us.
- 42:20Speaker 14: Thank you so much.
- 42:21Speaker 4: Still to come.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Awoke feminist anthem from Katie Perry is canned by critics
- 42:27Speaker 3: and King Charles and Queen Camilla caught up in a
- 42:29Speaker 3: security scare.
- 42:31Speaker 28: D D.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Dunlevy unpacks this with me.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Next joining me now is broadcaster and commentator D D.
- 42:46Speaker 4: Dun Levy. Thank you for joining us this evening.
- 42:49Speaker 3: Let's start with rumors of a major rift which have
- 42:52Speaker 3: e merged between tennis star Venus Williams and Prince Harry
- 42:55Speaker 3: and Meghan.
- 42:56Speaker 4: Now.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Eagle eyed Royal fans have alleged that Williams nubbed Harry
- 43:01Speaker 3: as he accepted the Pat Tillman Award for Service, and
- 43:04Speaker 3: you can see in this photo the five time Wimbledon
- 43:08Speaker 3: champion refused to stand up and applaud the Duke when
- 43:11Speaker 3: he received the honor from the Sports Network last week.
- 43:15Speaker 4: DD.
- 43:16Speaker 3: We know that Venus's sister Serena is actually good friends
- 43:20Speaker 3: with the pair, but it looks like Venus wasn't happy
- 43:22Speaker 3: at all there.
- 43:23Speaker 4: What do you think?
- 43:25Speaker 29: Well, maybe Venus has finally woken up to what a
- 43:29Speaker 29: lot of other people already realized, and that is that
- 43:31Speaker 29: this pair are popularity poison. She was good friends with
- 43:37Speaker 29: this couple. I think she was invited to their wedding,
- 43:40Speaker 29: She hosted the baby shower for their first child. So
- 43:44Speaker 29: there definitely does seem to be a cooling of relations.
- 43:47Speaker 29: And you know what, I looked at these pictures very
- 43:49Speaker 29: carefully to see whether it was just a moment that
- 43:51Speaker 29: was somehow captured and has been made to look worse
- 43:53Speaker 29: than it actually was, which she really does appear to
- 43:56Speaker 29: be very cold towards Megan, at least in the audience.
- 44:00Speaker 29: Could be just that, like a lot of people, she
- 44:02Speaker 29: wasn't happy about Harry being given that award, but there
- 44:06Speaker 29: definitely seemed to be something very frosty from Venus's perspective.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Anyway, Yeah, you're right.
- 44:12Speaker 3: I think people are, well the closest circle, are finally
- 44:15Speaker 3: realizing what these two are really like.
- 44:17Speaker 4: Now.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Speaking of Royal's, King Charles and Queen Camilla were whisked
- 44:20Speaker 3: away by security during a visit to the Channel Island
- 44:23Speaker 3: of Jersey after concerns.
- 44:25Speaker 4: Were raised about a security threat DD.
- 44:28Speaker 3: It turned out to be a false alarm, and the
- 44:30Speaker 3: pair then were able to resume events after a brief pause.
- 44:33Speaker 4: But clearly everyone is really on edge at the moment.
- 44:36Speaker 3: They're taking security very seriously in light of what happened
- 44:39Speaker 3: in the US.
- 44:42Speaker 4: And that is a good thing, I think.
- 44:44Speaker 29: I mean, they jumped so quickly in this particular instance,
- 44:46Speaker 29: apparently Camilla was only halfway through eating an ice cream
- 44:49Speaker 29: when they dragged her away, and it does appear that
- 44:52Speaker 29: this was a false alarm, even though Buckingham Pallace haven't
- 44:55Speaker 29: clarified still what exactly the perceived threat was, and it
- 44:58Speaker 29: was a false alarm, You would much rather see one
- 45:01Speaker 29: hundred false alarms like this and over reactions if you
- 45:04Speaker 29: want to call them that, like this, then see a
- 45:07Speaker 29: failure like we saw from the Secret Service in the
- 45:10Speaker 29: case of Donald Trump, where they warned and they didn't act.
- 45:13Speaker 29: You'd much rather have someone go over the top with
- 45:15Speaker 29: security than to fail with security, which could have potentially
- 45:20Speaker 29: had fatal consequences for the former president and as we know,
- 45:23Speaker 29: sadly for a man who was in the audience at
- 45:27Speaker 29: that rally.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Yeah, you spot on, I completely agree. Now. Singer Katie Perry's.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Long awaited new single Woman's World has dropped a needless
- 45:35Speaker 3: to say, it's been a disaster. The reviews are about
- 45:37Speaker 3: as horrific as the clip.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Is a winner.
- 45:52Speaker 3: I mean what, The Guardian gave it a one star rating,
- 45:55Speaker 3: saying what regressive warmed over Hell is this?
- 45:58Speaker 4: DD? It's dreadful. I don't like it. What's your re You?
- 46:03Speaker 29: I'm not crazy about the song. I think she looks hot,
- 46:07Speaker 29: she looks amazing. But I think the vitreol that's been
- 46:10Speaker 29: directed towards Katy Perry and towards this song is the
- 46:13Speaker 29: reason that feminism has a bad name at the moment.
- 46:16Speaker 4: This woman is one of.
- 46:17Speaker 29: The most successful people on the planet, not just musician
- 46:21Speaker 29: but people, because she has many other interests in business
- 46:24Speaker 29: and television and film and things like that.
- 46:27Speaker 4: And yet she.
- 46:27Speaker 29: Hasn't done feminism right in this song, and so she's
- 46:31Speaker 29: being absolutely attacked over it.
- 46:34Speaker 4: I think it's.
- 46:34Speaker 29: Outrageous actually, And let's be honest, it's not a thesis.
- 46:39Speaker 4: It's a pop song. Let's not take it too seriously.
- 46:42Speaker 4: Leave the woman alone. She's a working.
- 46:44Speaker 29: Mother, and I think there's been too much hatred directed
- 46:48Speaker 29: towards her.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Yeah, the song's a bit lame, but that's okay. You know,
- 46:52Speaker 4: she'll put another one out.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Well, I mean, hopefully what happened to the old, good
- 46:56Speaker 3: old days where she did firework and all those original classics.
- 46:59Speaker 3: Now they just go a bit silly after a while.
- 47:01Speaker 3: Dd Well that's just my opinion anyway.
- 47:03Speaker 4: DDE. Don Levy good to speak with you. Thanks so
- 47:06Speaker 4: much for joining us. That's it from me. Up next
- 47:09Speaker 4: is Newsnight, good night,
