- 0:00Robyn Ivy: Hi.
- 0:00Welcome back to Solving America's Problems.
- 0:02I'm your guest host, Robyn Ivy.
- 0:04Today we're doing something different.
- 0:06I get to interview one of my favorite people of all time, and kind of like
- 0:11a brother to me, Dave Conley, who's living in a support role of Jerremy.
- 0:15And I couldn't be happier to meet you Jerremy and
- 0:17Jerremy: Likewise.
- 0:18Robyn Ivy: I sort of take over your podcast.
- 0:21Thanks
- 0:21Jerremy: is.
- 0:21It's, yeah, it's gonna be so fun.
- 0:23So fun.
- 0:24I love interacting with new people.
- 0:27Robyn Ivy: Yeah, this is great.
- 0:28It's great to do a little bit of a, um, friendly takeover
- 0:31of somebody else's space.
- 0:33Jerremy: Yeah, likewise.
- 0:34Robyn Ivy: So for your listeners who don't know who I am, my name's Robin Ivy.
- 0:37I'm a life coach.
- 0:38I live here in Rhode Island, but travel around the world teaching and presenting.
- 0:42And um, I'm a medium and intuitive guide and I host the Robin Ivy podcast
- 0:47where we talk about navigating change and creating the life you want while
- 0:51you navigate the one you actually have.
- 0:53Uh, we dive deep in all sorts of spiritual conversations.
- 0:56I talk about thought leadership and really how to change your
- 1:00life from the inside out.
- 1:01So this felt like a pretty cool place to talk about solving problems and
- 1:05all the things you guys talk about.
- 1:08Jerremy: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:08I think blending and co-creating both worlds will be, uh, very magical.
- 1:14Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 1:14Cool.
- 1:14So, Jerremy, when I was in Miami, um, a couple weeks ago
- 1:17with Dave, he said something that's like really stuck with me.
- 1:20He said, of all the things that he's learned from hanging out with you, that
- 1:25you sang to him, that your relationship to money is essentially the same
- 1:29as your relationship to everything.
- 1:30And that if you figure out your relationship to relationship, then
- 1:34your to money will completely change.
- 1:38How true is that?
- 1:39And tell me about that.
- 1:41Jerremy: Radically true.
- 1:43Uh, in my opinion, I, I feel like money is a relationship, energy.
- 1:47And one thing that I've noticed for some people, not everyone, but a lot
- 1:52of people have commitment problems.
- 1:54We have commitment issues, so,
- 1:56Robyn Ivy: I can't relate.
- 1:58Dave: me either.
- 2:00Jerremy: so, you know, picking something and sticking to it like, all right, cool.
- 2:04I guess me and you for a long, long, long time is really, really challenging.
- 2:09And.
- 2:10Robyn Ivy: uh.
- 2:10Jerremy: For money that oftentimes can feel the same as well, where you
- 2:16get some, but you never feel like it's enough and it doesn't stay with you
- 2:20very long because as soon as you get it, you pay all the bills, you pay off
- 2:24your debts, you pay all the things.
- 2:25And it's like, well, yeah, that's what some I'm supposed to do.
- 2:28But then the money doesn't really stay there, just like a relationship might not.
- 2:32And you always feel like you're in this circle of the perpetual ness of not ever
- 2:36having enough, or the individuals that do actually have plenty of money, not
- 2:41recognizing and realizing that they have enough, not feeling like they have enough.
- 2:45So it's very much one thing to be rich.
- 2:48It's another thing to feel rich.
- 2:50It's one thing to have prosperity.
- 2:52It's another thing to perpetually create prosperity and to scale it
- 2:56and to grow it and to have more of it just like in a relationship, right?
- 3:00Having more love and having love expand versus picking someone and
- 3:04just dealing with all of their problems again, big, big shifts there.
- 3:10Robyn Ivy: Mm-hmm.
- 3:11Tell me how you know this.
- 3:14Jerremy: Well, I've studied both relationships and money in depth, uh,
- 3:18very closely for a long period of time.
- 3:20Um, the relationship piece, more from the study of energy, masculine and feminine
- 3:26energy and just kind of understanding to the best of my ability, what, what
- 3:33embodies an individual, what they carry with them from a day-to-day basis, what
- 3:37they actually do, what they say, what they use, and what type of energy that
- 3:42is holding within themselves and what the purpose of it is and why they're doing it.
- 3:47And then also the money piece kind of happened to me and for me, and then
- 3:53ultimately through me and the money.
- 3:55Uh, understanding money, understanding how it moves was
- 3:58just always fascinating to me.
- 3:59I love the stock market since a very little kid and seeing how both
- 4:04of them connected was really as I got closer and closer to my wife.
- 4:09We got married five years ago in February.
- 4:12As that relationship started coming together, it made it a lot more clear.
- 4:16'cause she's very much more in your world.
- 4:18So she has her doctorate in metaphysics, so she's very, very, uh, she's
- 4:23the queen of the Woo, like, as you know, far as you can go into ville.
- 4:29My wife is the mayor of, of
- 4:30Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 4:31Jerremy: and
- 4:32Robyn Ivy: Uhhuh.
- 4:33Jerremy: learning about her world and, oh, you two will have a blast.
- 4:37You two will have a blast.
- 4:39So she, she loves it.
- 4:40But, and then, and then seeing her, her unique struggle when we met about
- 4:47charging money for her services.
- 4:49Keeping money, how she did it, how she thought about it, and then just having
- 4:53really in depth conversations from someone who's way smarter than I am in everything.
- 4:58Uh, and then having this back and forth dialogue of why was she struggling
- 5:04with growing her business or making a lot more money, or keeping a lot
- 5:08of money or feeling safe around money or feeling safe around men.
- 5:12And just having this really cool back and forth and just relaying
- 5:15it and tying it all to money.
- 5:16Yeah, it's been an awesome, awesome journey for the last five or six years.
- 5:21Robyn Ivy: So for my people, Jerremy, who've never heard of you and are
- 5:25excited to be meeting you like I am, can you give us a little bit of the
- 5:28backstory to put yourself in context?
- 5:31Jerremy: Yeah, totally.
- 5:31I'll do it.
- 5:32And three minutes.
- 5:33I grew up in Georgia.
- 5:36I lived in a very impoverished place.
- 5:39Uh, so about as poor as you can grow up in the United States of America.
- 5:43I grew up in a single wide trailer tree house.
- 5:45With no running water, with no air conditioning in Georgia.
- 5:48So it was always hot, it was always sticky.
- 5:50Mosquitoes the size of Pterodactyls would
- 5:53Robyn Ivy: Uhhuh.
- 5:53Jerremy: be my constant companion.
- 5:55And I watched a movie for the very first time that changed my life.
- 5:59In 1994.
- 6:00It was me, my father, and my oldest brother.
- 6:02Uh, his name is Jerry Roger.
- 6:04And we watched the movie Forrest Gump and 80% of the movie Forrest starts
- 6:09recounting the story about how he and Lieutenant Dan are investing.
- 6:14So he says, Lieutenant Dan invested into some kind of fruit company and said, we
- 6:21don't have to worry about money no more.
- 6:23So I said, good, one less thing.
- 6:26And that just baffled me at that exact moment, that moment in time.
- 6:29It was a beautiful paradigm shift.
- 6:31'cause I had never ever heard someone say, you do not have to worry about money.
- 6:37So I asked my dad, what is a fruit company?
- 6:39Like what's he talking about?
- 6:40I have no idea these words.
- 6:42And obviously Forrest was talking about Apple.
- 6:44They invest into Apple computers.
- 6:46And my dad started to the best of his ability explaining what Apple is and what
- 6:50the stock market is and what investing is.
- 6:53And he told me the a strategy that still works to this day.
- 6:56It's in fact probably the easiest way to explain the stock market,
- 7:01buy companies that you use.
- 7:03Do you understand their products?
- 7:05You interact with their money every day or every week.
- 7:08And if you continue to like those companies, you keep buying those
- 7:11companies, the stock will probably go up.
- 7:15And so that advice I kind of carried with me forever.
- 7:18So since the age of six, uh, I begged my dad to invest in the stock market
- 7:23and he gave me the very, very common answers that most people give when
- 7:27we talk about the stock market.
- 7:28I don't have enough money.
- 7:30I don't have enough time.
- 7:31I'm not smart enough.
- 7:32Those are the three main ones, right?
- 7:34A lot of times it's.
- 7:35I just, I don't have any knowledge.
- 7:37Like I can't watch the news for 45 hours a day.
- 7:40Like, I don't know what you're doing.
- 7:41I don't know how to do this.
- 7:43And my answer is always, well, it's very easy, right?
- 7:45Wealth is second grade math repeated consistently and
- 7:49Robyn Ivy: That's good news.
- 7:51Jerremy: It is.
- 7:52And so once you, but the word is consistent, right?
- 7:54It's, it's a repetition.
- 7:55It's a repetition.
- 7:56So we're all smart enough because Robin, you got an A in second grade math.
- 8:00Dave got an A in second grade math when we took, uh, in 1912.
- 8:04Uh, I got a, I got an A in second grade math.
- 8:08Um, we all got A's in second grade math.
- 8:10Yeah.
- 8:13So
- 8:14Dave: Ro Robin, we're not gonna,
- 8:17Jerremy: me, me and
- 8:18Dave: here.
- 8:18Robyn Ivy: are you gonna do?
- 8:19Yeah.
- 8:20Dave: a year apart.
- 8:21Jerremy: no, me, me and Dave.
- 8:22I'd always make fun of Dave.
- 8:23Robyn Ivy: was born in 1912.
- 8:25Jerremy: Yeah.
- 8:26Dave: Ah,
- 8:27Jerremy: boy.
- 8:28Oh boy.
- 8:28Dave: God.
- 8:29All right.
- 8:29I'm going everybody.
- 8:30Thanks.
- 8:31Jerremy: but Dave's off, Dave's off the podcast.
- 8:33He's leaving.
- 8:35Robyn Ivy: This is how, this is how you know we're family.
- 8:37Jerremy: Yeah, no, I love Dave.
- 8:38Um, and so we, we, yeah, I just love the stock market.
- 8:42I asked my, like I begged him and begged him and begged him and begged
- 8:44him and he eventually caved and said, BR buddy, if you bring me some
- 8:47money on match at dollar for dollar.
- 8:49And so I went, I picked, uh, blackberries and sold them door to door
- 8:54Robyn Ivy: Yeah,
- 8:55Jerremy: a dollar a bag and made $1,500 in the summer of 1995.
- 8:59And my dad borrowed, matched it, uh, borrowed $1,500 from my uncle Billy.
- 9:05We bought $3,000 worth of Apple stock in 1995, and ever since then, I have been
- 9:12immersed and I've read book, every book I've been to, every class, every webinar.
- 9:17I've spent seven hours of my life, probably every day since the age of 12,
- 9:22studying and learning the stock market and diving into it and, and trading it
- 9:26every day and interacting with it every day, and helping people from all over
- 9:29the world understand it and interact with it, and then grow their wealth from it.
- 9:35Robyn Ivy: I think it's so fascinating.
- 9:37So like I just said, I'm 51, so five decades on the planet.
- 9:40It's so interesting to me how one of us is somehow hardwired
- 9:45to turn towards something.
- 9:48With great intensity and curiosity that might be a thing that other people
- 9:52spend their entire life turning away
- 9:54Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 9:55Robyn Ivy: or
- 9:55Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 9:57Robyn Ivy: You know?
- 9:57And when it comes to things like money or metaphysics or politics or solving
- 10:03hard problems that feel beyond our own agency, we can either really see that as
- 10:09this great opportunity to learn something and to get into that arena with it.
- 10:13Or it can be totally the opposite.
- 10:15And I love that.
- 10:16Now.
- 10:16I recognize like nobody has the time to do all of that in every category.
- 10:20So thanks for being somebody that does it in that one.
- 10:23Because if we all just share those resources with each other, then like none
- 10:26of us have to do it at that full throttle unless it's the thing we really wanna do.
- 10:31Jerremy: Yeah, totally.
- 10:32And to your point, uh, I grew up in a cult.
- 10:35I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness for
- 10:38Robyn Ivy: Mm-hmm.
- 10:38Jerremy: far, the vast majority of my life.
- 10:40And I would be terrified to talk to you, you know, 15 years ago,
- 10:45um, to talk to anyone that's a medium or anyone that works in the
- 10:50energies of something that's not.
- 10:53The Bible.
- 10:54Right.
- 10:55And it was, uh, to, to your point, like we all have things that we
- 10:59love and that we focus on, that we energetically align with.
- 11:01And the more that we share that gift through the world, the
- 11:04more prosperous we will be.
- 11:07Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 11:08Well, and it's interesting 'cause my dad was a Methodist minister and there was
- 11:12something about kind of being born behind what I call like that curtain of Oz and
- 11:16seeing that discrepancy between being a, a human being who's here to preach about
- 11:22God and but also not be God himself.
- 11:25And that immediate question of like, huh, well you don't seem to be kind
- 11:31of living up to the expectations that you're preaching about.
- 11:35As no one could, right?
- 11:36But at
- 11:36Jerremy: Yeah, of course.
- 11:37Robyn Ivy: I was like, I'm seeing some gap here in this thing.
- 11:41Jerremy: Hmm.
- 11:41Robyn Ivy: and it really opened up a lot of exploration around metaphysical things.
- 11:47at the deepest part of that, I really felt catapulted back into like
- 11:51Christianity at a very deep place because it's all the same thing really.
- 11:57You know, it's all the same thing at the end of the road.
- 12:00In my
- 12:00Jerremy: Yeah.
- 12:01Robyn Ivy: uh,
- 12:02Jerremy: It,
- 12:02Robyn Ivy: of love that about that.
- 12:03Whether it's the energy of money or the energy of God or whatever
- 12:07denominational perspective you hold the holier you get, the truer we get
- 12:12with the thing, the pure, the energy, it seems like the better it all goes.
- 12:18Jerremy: yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 12:21Yep.
- 12:22Yeah, well that's, uh, I'll bring it up Robin, just so that you
- 12:25have more of the context as well.
- 12:27And for your listeners.
- 12:28The whole reason that I feel compelled and moved and guided and
- 12:33pushed towards running for president is because of all of this, right?
- 12:39Growing up, Joe's witness, that was a big no-no.
- 12:43In fact, they keep away from all politics.
- 12:46So one of their biggest, I, I guess, core tenets of belief is
- 12:51Robyn Ivy: Hmm.
- 12:51Jerremy: be separate from the world as much as possible and only interact
- 12:56with it like when you're working.
- 12:58So it's very, very, very small.
- 13:00And I would be asked all the time at 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, what
- 13:04are you gonna do with your life?
- 13:05And I would have to make up something.
- 13:07Because I already knew the answer like since I was a kid.
- 13:10Like, why, just like you, oh, you're gonna go play baseball and become a
- 13:14professional baseball, or a firefighter or a movie star or actress or whatever.
- 13:18I've always knew that the whole purpose of my life, the ultimate
- 13:22goal is to serve at that capacity, to be a leader in that capacity.
- 13:29And I was always terrified of that.
- 13:32So as after I, I was terrified of the distinction and the separation.
- 13:36'cause there couldn't be both in that particular religion.
- 13:39So once I left the religion and I realized what a great gift it was for me,
- 13:43it kept me safe, it kept me protected, it kept me, uh, from doing really,
- 13:47really dumb things because that's how I learned, I learned through mistakes.
- 13:50So I was really mistake free.
- 13:53For a vast portion of my life, and I don't really have any skeletons in the closet.
- 13:58I don't really have anything to be afraid of or ashamed of.
- 14:00There's nothing, I didn't do anything.
- 14:02I just played basketball with a bunch of witnesses my whole life, you know?
- 14:05So I didn't have any, I didn't have any negatives, uh uh, and I started doing
- 14:11a lot of the joda spina meditation work, and that's where I met my higher
- 14:16self, or the best version of me, or the most disciplined version of me.
- 14:20And every time I interact with that beingness, that meanness, uh, I've noticed
- 14:25that that's what I'm supposed to do is at least really make an extremely valiant
- 14:28effort to live the reason I was created, which is to, again, to serve as the
- 14:33president of the United States of America.
- 14:36And I thought, just my funny belief that every male.
- 14:41That was born, had that desire.
- 14:43And I was like, man, I gotta compete against everybody.
- 14:46Like this is gonna be hard.
- 14:48And the more I start talking to people, the more people I realize
- 14:51that nobody wants that job.
- 14:53It's like seven dumb dudes, uh, generally want that.
- 14:57So that's, that's why I'm here.
- 14:58That's why we're here.
- 14:59That's why Dave and I are being putting in so much time and energy and effort
- 15:01into creating something incredible.
- 15:04Robyn Ivy: Well, and it's interesting when you think about serving at scale, like at
- 15:08whatever your definition of the highest level is, kind of the fundamentals and
- 15:12the foundational things that it's helpful to really understand whether you are in
- 15:17full agreement with them or completely not kind of understanding, the, understanding
- 15:22the energetics of money and the pain of money and the joy of money and the
- 15:26relationality of money or being able to do that in terms of religious experience.
- 15:32Whether you agree with things that are more dogmatic or more rigid or you open
- 15:37up to something far more, uh, unbounded.
- 15:42I think it sets you up well, especially if you're exploring masculine energy
- 15:45and feminine energy, because the more we understand about leadership, the
- 15:49more we're talking about wholeness.
- 15:50And we're talking about being able to access these different parts
- 15:53of our own humanity, which we see historically was not the case,
- 15:57Jerremy: Yeah.
- 15:57Yeah.
- 15:58Robyn Ivy: much hiding who they were in hopes that nobody would
- 16:01ever find them out, and the level of pressure of imposter syndrome.
- 16:06then you play that out at scale in the Congress and the Senate and like
- 16:10Jerremy: Uh huh
- 16:10Robyn Ivy: who's ever run, who never wants to admit they smoked weed
- 16:13Jerremy: Uhhuh.
- 16:14Robyn Ivy: something stupid or learned by any misstep of any kind, like, do they
- 16:19really think that we don't know that they had to have missed steps somewhere in
- 16:23Jerremy: Yep.
- 16:24Robyn Ivy: learn something?
- 16:25Or are we meant to think they're just buffoons having clearly no experience
- 16:29other than something positive?
- 16:31You know, the, I think the veil's ready to drop, so,
- 16:35Jerremy: I love that.
- 16:36Yeah.
- 16:36That's beautiful.
- 16:37Yep.
- 16:38I agree.
- 16:39Robyn Ivy: Yeah, I, I think there's so much, there's so much liberation
- 16:42in the things that at one point maybe feel like they tie us down,
- 16:45and I think that's, I don't know.
- 16:47I often think like it was only because I grew up as a preacher's kid, that I
- 16:51gave myself the permission to go all the way to the edge of the Woo, which
- 16:54I ironically gave me permission to like pray a rosary as a Protestant kid.
- 16:59You know, like, I don't, I, I will hope, I will probably pray this rosary every
- 17:03day till I die, and who'd have thought?
- 17:06But if we're not open to this stuff, whether it's the possibility of becoming
- 17:09president or the possibility of leading a family in a different capacity or just
- 17:14leading ourself through the world or trying to invest in, in something that we
- 17:17don't understand it, what we're here for.
- 17:20Right?
- 17:21Jerremy: Yeah, I agree.
- 17:22Well, let, let's have, I'd like to ask this question, Rob.
- 17:25I think it would just be fun,
- 17:27Robyn Ivy: Sure.
- 17:27Jerremy: uh, as it regards to the stock market.
- 17:29Tell me what your beliefs are around it, what fears you may or may not have.
- 17:35Uh, just in, in regards to investing in stocks and trading in the markets.
- 17:42Robyn Ivy: I tend to, um, go like this and pretend there's
- 17:45no such thing as any of this.
- 17:49That's been my relationship to all things financial and all things
- 17:52relative to financial at all.
- 17:54Yeah.
- 17:55Um.
- 17:57Yep.
- 17:57I, I
- 17:58Jerremy: That's fair.
- 17:58Robyn Ivy: nothing to do with it.
- 17:59It terrifies me, but I've learned it, it terrifies me from a place
- 18:03of not trusting myself, right?
- 18:05Like the, the same, the same fear as an A DHD kid of like,
- 18:12I'm not gonna figure it out.
- 18:13I'm gonna have to know more than I know I'm gonna have to be a
- 18:16different person to deal with.
- 18:17It took me a long time of working through a lot of that fear and I think
- 18:22I still have a long way to go with it.
- 18:24Um, but I did get smart enough to get a financial advisor and a bookkeeper and
- 18:28offload it, but then it left me feeling like I'm not in relationship with it.
- 18:34else is in a healthy relationship with it, which is better than no one being in a
- 18:37Jerremy: Sure.
- 18:38Robyn Ivy: it.
- 18:38Jerremy: Yeah.
- 18:39Robyn Ivy: like, progress.
- 18:40Someone is in relationship with this, but it also gets to be me one day
- 18:44not hoping they're doing a great job.
- 18:48Jerremy: Yeah.
- 18:49Yeah.
- 18:50I agree.
- 18:51Well, that's, I, I, I appreciate you sharing that with us, and I think
- 18:53truthfully, that's probably most people's.
- 18:56Interaction with it, and it's just scary.
- 19:00Uh, I love your awareness of your like, oh wait, I'm scared of it, because
- 19:04it's probably gonna be a me thing.
- 19:06And that really is.
- 19:07I, I think beau.
- 19:08Robyn Ivy: percent gonna be a me thing.
- 19:09Jerremy: Yeah.
- 19:10Well, that's beautiful awareness though.
- 19:12Robyn Ivy: more potently.
- 19:12It's not only gonna be a me thing, it's gonna be a shame thing.
- 19:15Jerremy: Yeah.
- 19:16Robyn Ivy: It's not.
- 19:16It's like, oh no.
- 19:17The only thing I'm ever turning my back on is when it's gonna be a
- 19:20shame thing that then is gonna also potentially be compounded with an
- 19:25action of consistency thing about a thing I don't feel that much self-trust
- 19:30Jerremy: Mm. Love that.
- 19:32Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 19:34Most
- 19:34Jerremy: that.
- 19:35Robyn Ivy: I'm like, let's go Buffalo towards a storm I'm in.
- 19:38Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 19:39Yeah.
- 19:39Well, I hope to have more in depth conversations with you about it because
- 19:42I, I believe that there's a lot of healing that goes into that journey
- 19:45because the more we understand that world, the more we'll understand about
- 19:49ourselves, we start removing and working on and healing that shame a little bit.
- 19:53Because really a lot of times it's, uh, it'll be linked to the shame of pleasure.
- 19:57Um, 'cause that's what, that's one of the things that money brings into our lives.
- 20:01It brings a lot of pleasure.
- 20:03Uh, it doesn't have to,
- 20:04Robyn Ivy: Oh
- 20:04Jerremy: it can bring a,
- 20:05Robyn Ivy: me that he, um, he has to spend like, that you, that he has to send, spend
- 20:10a certain amount of money just for fun.
- 20:13Jerremy: yeah.
- 20:13Robyn Ivy: Like one of your rules.
- 20:15Jerremy: Yeah.
- 20:15Well, I mean, WW when people say money that
- 20:18Robyn Ivy: that part, by the way.
- 20:20Jerremy: No.
- 20:20Yeah.
- 20:21Robyn Ivy: There's no evidence so far to suggest that I am not good
- 20:23at spending it for fun, actually.
- 20:27Jerremy: Yes.
- 20:28Yes.
- 20:29Well, uh, and, and those, those are both interesting words, right.
- 20:33Spending and fun.
- 20:34Um.
- 20:35Because, yeah, I, I, fun can be pleasurable, but giving
- 20:38money away can be pleasurable.
- 20:40Um, building, building churches, building schools, building hospitals,
- 20:44figuring out ways to circulate it.
- 20:46Um, spit out ways to not spend it, but just earn more of it.
- 20:50'cause if you give more, you're gonna get more.
- 20:52That's the other beautiful law, right?
- 20:53Scriptural law in all text is like, you're gonna be provided for the more you give
- 20:59and the more you provide for others.
- 21:00And that's just also a beautiful recognition.
- 21:02So I think that, uh, it's just a beautifully interwoven
- 21:06aspect of our lives.
- 21:07'cause everyone needs money, right?
- 21:09It's not as important as oxygen, but it's right up there.
- 21:12It is really, really close, uh, oxygen and currency.
- 21:18And when you start playing in both of those worlds, you will start opening
- 21:21yourself up for a lot of opportunity, for healing, for expansion, for growth.
- 21:25Because yes, to, to make a lot of money and to keep a lot of money, we have to
- 21:30become really, really unique containers.
- 21:32We have to be a container of someone that can hold all other
- 21:36things as well in our life.
- 21:38Uh, not only relationships, but also, um, a assets, right?
- 21:44Other, other assets.
- 21:45Not necessarily only physical assets, right?
- 21:47Intangible assets, things that we really step out into the world
- 21:51and we're ready to be a big, bold beacon and say, Hey, look at me.
- 21:55'cause again, that's what money does, is it amplifies, it amplifies
- 21:57everything that it touches.
- 21:59Robyn Ivy: Totally.
- 22:00Jerremy: Yeah.
- 22:01Heck yeah.
- 22:01Robyn Ivy: a lot of folks in the financial world talk about how money loves speed,
- 22:06Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 22:06Robyn Ivy: something about money and, and quickness and I, I, my
- 22:13coaching practice, when people are bumping up against self-trust.
- 22:17That tends to be where they then wanna slow down the speed.
- 22:20'cause they're like, I don't feel like I can move quick at a place of not trust.
- 22:25And I was like, well then that's gonna be a real setup when
- 22:27it comes to money for people.
- 22:29If money loves speed, but not trusting ourselves creates a, uh, this, this
- 22:33natural inclination to slow down or stop altogether, then we're also
- 22:37financially then energetically putting ourselves in a bit of a pickle.
- 22:42Jerremy: Yeah, I love that.
- 22:43So true.
- 22:45Yes, correct.
- 22:46Speed is really what, what speed means, is velocity, and then velocity
- 22:52generally also means volatility.
- 22:54And so you've heard that phrase before, right?
- 22:56The stock market, that's a tons of volatility and people are
- 22:59like, oh, it's too volatile.
- 23:00Don't put me in it.
- 23:02Volatility is incredible.
- 23:03If you know where you're going.
- 23:05Most people don't know where they're going.
- 23:07They don't have the clarity, they don't have the intention to sit down and
- 23:09go, okay, this is where I wanna go.
- 23:11You live in Rhode Island, so if you're gonna come out here to
- 23:13Las Vegas and visit me, you're probably gonna be in an airplane
- 23:15that's volatile because it's fast.
- 23:17But you're gonna choose that overriding a bicycle.
- 23:21And it's because one is extremely efficient and the other one's not.
- 23:25I think the, the speed of money is also characterized by the speed of ideas, the
- 23:31speed of intention, the speed of creation.
- 23:34I do secretly judge people when I take them out to a dinner or, or a
- 23:38lunch on how fast they can order food.
- 23:40You know, how, how long they take to just interact with the world,
- 23:43how long they take to interact with the decisions to move.
- 23:46Because having speed of clarity and speed of intention and speed of thought
- 23:50does mean that you are, and you have the capacity to create a lot more income,
- 23:55money, current to or opportunity.
- 23:58Robyn Ivy: is there any cost to that that you've noticed?
- 24:02Jerremy: Yes, absolutely.
- 24:03Because most people will never make the decision.
- 24:05They think they will and then they just go, uh, and then they don't.
- 24:08Because I, I've heard
- 24:10Robyn Ivy: No, I mean
- 24:11Jerremy: ca
- 24:11Robyn Ivy: fast, like is there to going quickly the opposite.
- 24:15Like is there any cost to being to, yeah.
- 24:18Is there any cost to going that quick?
- 24:21Jerremy: uh, I'm sure there is.
- 24:23Yeah, I'm sure there is.
- 24:24I think probably the cost would be you get too wrapped up in it and you have
- 24:28the inability to be, most individuals are extremely good at human doings, but
- 24:33they're not very good at human beings, so that's probably ultimately the cost is
- 24:37like they don't know how to turn it off.
- 24:38And they're always flying.
- 24:39They're always moving.
- 24:40They're always perpetually just going, and they're never here,
- 24:43and they're never in the now.
- 24:45Robyn Ivy: Okay.
- 24:46So how do you manage that as somebody who's really good with the energy
- 24:49and speed and velocity of money, but also is good at the being part I.
- 24:55Jerremy: The best answer I have to that question is I have to schedule it.
- 24:58And I don't know if that's the right or the wrong way, but I have to put on, I
- 25:03have to put on the calendar and I have to tell my brain and my body and my mind
- 25:06this, Hey, this is where we're going this weekend or this day or these hours.
- 25:11You're going to sit down and do X, Y, z. I go to seminars very, very often.
- 25:17We'll ask people, Hey, who here, raise your hand if you ever, if you have
- 25:20ever worked for 12 hours straight?
- 25:23And everyone's like, yeah, right?
- 25:24They like badge of on.
- 25:25They're like, I've done that.
- 25:27And they get all excited.
- 25:28And then I ask, who here has ever prayed for 12 hours straight?
- 25:32And all the hands go down and it's just this, it's just really
- 25:36this idea of, Hey man, you know, what are you working so hard for?
- 25:43Why?
- 25:43Why are you spending all this time and energy?
- 25:45Like if you just get closer to.
- 25:47Whatever ultimate being that you believe in, you probably will be able
- 25:52to close the gap between time and space.
- 25:54And if you close that gap between time and space, it's probably
- 25:58gonna happen for you faster.
- 25:59That's one of the things I love about Joe Dispenza.
- 26:01When he says, uh, the, the unknown, like the closer you get to the unknown, the
- 26:05absolute unknown, the, the nothingness.
- 26:08When you and that nothingness become one, everything in your life will
- 26:12manifest into reality instantly.
- 26:14For me, that nothingness is everythingness, which is, uh, god or the
- 26:19universe or love or ultimate perfection.
- 26:22And I think that's just such an awesome, awesome realization where
- 26:24the closer you get to that, the faster things will happen for you and I
- 26:28wanna get there as much as possible.
- 26:30So I think that's a, uh, a fun place to play in.
- 26:34Robyn Ivy: I heard these, um, these two women, and I, I forget their
- 26:36names, but I, I, if I'm, if I remember correctly, they work for Harvard and
- 26:41they're organizational, psychologists, and they were talking about how, um.
- 26:48That in organizations that people, uh, they say slow it down to speed
- 26:53it up, that that was like a big business ideology for a while.
- 26:56Like slow it down to speed it up.
- 26:57And they said, no, that's not true.
- 26:59Speed it up to speed it up.
- 27:01But they said the reason that people don't speed it up in organizations
- 27:04is similar to the reason we don't speed it up in our own lives.
- 27:07Because if we don't trust the foundations of our systems, of our support networks,
- 27:12of what we have in place, she was using the analogy of like a dock pillar where
- 27:17like, you're not gonna go running out on the pilings if you don't trust that
- 27:20they're in place, but if you know they're in place, you could like haul ass down the
- 27:24piling no problem, but without believing that they're, they're trustworthy,
- 27:29you're gonna take it much slower.
- 27:30And I was like, that's such an interesting thing, especially if we're talking about
- 27:34the relationality of the money or our own trust that like we can go fast.
- 27:40Because we've got the systems in place because we trust our financial person
- 27:43or we trust our knowledge of the stock market, or we trust our ability to
- 27:47reassure ourselves if we make a bad move that day and lose money like that,
- 27:51Jerremy: Yeah.
- 27:52Robyn Ivy: just abandon ourselves.
- 27:53Right.
- 27:54I thought that
- 27:54Jerremy: Yeah,
- 27:54Robyn Ivy: an interesting parallel.
- 27:56Jerremy: yeah.
- 27:56I love that.
- 27:57I do.
- 27:58Robyn Ivy: How do you set yourself up for the kind of, uh, balance of rigidity
- 28:03and flexibility that you need to thrive?
- 28:08Jerremy: Well, I think that also comes down to, for me, again,
- 28:11again, just being extremely clear.
- 28:13I think the person that's most clear and the most intentional will win the
- 28:16fastest or the most, or the most often.
- 28:20Perfect example.
- 28:21If someone says, Hey, I want more money all, all the time, like
- 28:25that's their perpetual daily mantra.
- 28:28I would love to have more money.
- 28:29I would love to have more money If you get a dollar that is more.
- 28:33And, but they're not satisfied with a dollar.
- 28:35So now they're upset.
- 28:37And then they get this anger of not being grateful or not being in gratitude.
- 28:42And the way I structure rigidity and also flexibility is one of my mantras,
- 28:51I think, is follow my rules like an engineer, and know when to break them.
- 28:55Like an artist, there's always these ebbs and flows, right where you have to be,
- 29:00you don't wanna be the most dangerous.
- 29:03Uh.
- 29:05Gardener in a war, you wanna be the most dangerous warrior in a garden like it.
- 29:10There needs to be this balance.
- 29:13I mean, that's what it all always is.
- 29:15There has to be some level of equilibrium.
- 29:17Uh, another incredible, for me, just parallel that really shifts in my
- 29:22life in a huge way, just if not that long ago, three or four years ago.
- 29:25I heard the story differently for the very first time.
- 29:29The story about the two wolves.
- 29:30The, there's this Chinese father, or, you know, speaking to his younger son
- 29:35and his younger son's asking about life and death and good and bad.
- 29:39And the dad says that every man, every person has two wolves inside of them.
- 29:44The light wolf and the dark wolf.
- 29:47And the dark wolf is there for destruction and terror and creating.
- 29:57Anger and making things happen through force.
- 30:01And then the light wolf is happy and joyful and prosperous, and
- 30:05they're always battling each other.
- 30:06These two wolves are always fighting each other, and the young boy looks
- 30:09at his dad and says, which wolf wins?
- 30:11And the dad says, whichever wolf you feed the most.
- 30:14Now, I had never heard the word the most before.
- 30:19Robyn Ivy: Hmm.
- 30:20Jerremy: I always heard whatever wolf you feed, but in reality,
- 30:23we all have those two wolves.
- 30:24We all have to feed them.
- 30:26And so I do a lot of work with men because men, the brokenness
- 30:31of any country is in direct proportion to the brokenness of men.
- 30:35And if men do not have this way to internally heal, to understand and
- 30:41to adopt, it's never women who have created this, oh, I'm gonna go start a
- 30:47giant war for more land and more power.
- 30:51Right?
- 30:51Robyn Ivy: We know it's not us.
- 30:53Jerremy: No.
- 30:53Yeah, yeah.
- 30:54It's, it is not women.
- 30:55Right.
- 30:55Like it's that internal.
- 30:58Robyn Ivy: sure that wouldn't be how we do that.
- 31:02Jerremy: We would figure out another way.
- 31:04Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 31:05We're pretty sure we could figure out another path to
- 31:08Jerremy: Right.
- 31:09Robyn Ivy: and resolution.
- 31:10Jerremy: But, but really that, that's a gorgeous recognition that I
- 31:14think so many people just skip over.
- 31:16It's like, listen, it's not, it's the dudes like they're the
- 31:20ones that are ruining everything.
- 31:22If there's something that needs to be ruined, leave it up to a
- 31:24really angry, egotistical guy and he'll figure out a way to do that.
- 31:28Like, that's the big challenge.
- 31:29And
- 31:29Robyn Ivy: of two, like now grown men, I also think, boy, without
- 31:33the men, like men get a bad rap.
- 31:35And I'm always like, I always joke that I'd be the first one Vijo, like
- 31:39voted off Vagina island because I really stand for men and all that.
- 31:43Jerremy: yeah, of course.
- 31:45Robyn Ivy: that presence, without that, it would, we would just all be different.
- 31:49So
- 31:49Jerremy: That's the balance, right?
- 31:51That
- 31:51Robyn Ivy: important parts of this.
- 31:53Jerremy: agreed.
- 31:53Agreed.
- 31:54And that's the balance.
- 31:54The balance is the recognition that we have to be in both places.
- 31:58Uh, we have to know how to do both things.
- 32:00We have to know how to live in the both worlds.
- 32:02Men need to learn how to heal deeply and to to pull their ego
- 32:06out and to pull it into light.
- 32:09And also be, uh, a, a protector.
- 32:11A protector of women, a protector of children, a protector of
- 32:15themselves, a protector of their kingdom, the castle, and they have
- 32:17to be totally okay to become more.
- 32:21Grace to become more kind.
- 32:23And I think having the balance and having the blend between all of those
- 32:26things we're talking about, which is really the energetics of spirituality,
- 32:30of beingness, of who individuals are.
- 32:33And you start blending all of that and putting it into money,
- 32:36into investing, into politics.
- 32:38That is my four corners of like, I can talk about this stuff all day and
- 32:42it jazzes me up and it lights me up.
- 32:44'cause I know that there are solutions in in this box.
- 32:48Robyn Ivy: Yeah, I mean, I think that I've noticed, uh, with women, a pa the
- 32:52pattern of like, there's a pattern of not feeling safe and not feeling worthy.
- 32:56And those two things then ripple out into, I mean, that becomes
- 33:00almost like a filter through which everything, like, it's not safe to
- 33:03put themselves out there in the world.
- 33:04It's not safe to start the business.
- 33:05It's not safe to ask for that amount of money.
- 33:08then on the guy side, I see a lot of, not enoughness, like it's, I'm not enough yet,
- 33:13so I can't, I don't feel good enough about myself, so I can't start the thing, do the
- 33:16thing, be humble or be compassionate or open, It's such a shame to me because if
- 33:22we could see ourselves from that position, reassure that in each other, then just
- 33:27keep going out and doing the thing, our contributions and our, what we could
- 33:31create here altogether, the problems we can overcome are, it's, it's mind blowing.
- 33:37Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 33:38Yeah.
- 33:39What, what problem would you like to overcome?
- 33:40If you had to pick one that you could just solve tomorrow, what would it be?
- 33:44Robyn Ivy: Hunger.
- 33:45Hunger to me, hunger.
- 33:46Because if you're hungry, I don't care what plans you have,
- 33:49I don't care what, I don't care.
- 33:51Everything else, if you're hungry, it's over.
- 33:54Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 33:54Robyn Ivy: not doing anything if you're
- 33:55Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 33:56Robyn Ivy: Uh, so I don't, yeah, I just, I can't fathom for me
- 34:01how it's 20, 25 and five decades later people are still hungry.
- 34:05Like, to me, this was a problem that should have been solved
- 34:08by the time I was like 12 years old or long before I got here.
- 34:12So the fact that people are still hungry, the fact that we could have this
- 34:14many billionaires and hungry people.
- 34:17Something is, something is glitchy in the matrix still
- 34:21Jerremy: Y yes.
- 34:22And not only billionaires.
- 34:24So we have this many obese people in the us
- 34:26Robyn Ivy: correct?
- 34:27Jerremy: like so someone's eating a lot of food.
- 34:29Robyn Ivy: have GLP if we have GLP ones and hungry people.
- 34:33It's astounding.
- 34:35Jerremy: Yes.
- 34:36Agreed.
- 34:37Like there, like to, to that aspect.
- 34:39Like what, how are we getting at this incorrect?
- 34:45Robyn Ivy: And I also like, I looked around my house a couple months
- 34:48ago and I thought, wow, this is interesting that you can be overwhelmed.
- 34:51I could be overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have to the point that I'm like,
- 34:54I gotta get rid of some of this stuff.
- 34:55It's so, this is a lot.
- 34:57And then simultaneously have any sense of lack in my life.
- 35:00Jerremy: Mm.
- 35:01Robyn Ivy: Like how interesting.
- 35:03Jerremy: Yeah.
- 35:03Robyn Ivy: things can sit there together.
- 35:05Jerremy: Yep.
- 35:05Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 35:06Jerremy: I love that.
- 35:06Robyn Ivy: But hunger, to me, it's always hunger.
- 35:08Jerremy: Okay.
- 35:09Robyn Ivy: else, don't know.
- 35:10If you're hungry and you're cold, don't have somewhere to stay.
- 35:14But you can always, like, you can, you can find somewhere to stay.
- 35:17If you can't eat, if you have nothing to eat, you're, what are you figuring out?
- 35:20Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 35:22Robyn Ivy: How about you?
- 35:23Jerremy: Love that.
- 35:24Um.
- 35:27Well, I think my main, I believe my main focus is going to be to radically change
- 35:34the educational system in the US because
- 35:38Robyn Ivy: system?
- 35:40Jerremy: Come on Robin, let's go.
- 35:43Be careful.
- 35:44You're gonna enter my best friend status real quick.
- 35:47Robyn Ivy: That's
- 35:47Jerremy: I,
- 35:48Robyn Ivy: yeah.
- 35:48Get
- 35:49Jerremy: I agree.
- 35:49It's like,
- 35:50Robyn Ivy: friends.
- 35:50I can come rummage through your cabinets.
- 35:51If I need a
- 35:52Jerremy: cool,
- 35:53Robyn Ivy: way, I'm not,
- 35:53Jerremy: cool.
- 35:54Robyn Ivy: in the acquaintance level,
- 35:56Jerremy: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:56I want snacks.
- 35:57I'm with you.
- 35:58I'm with you.
- 35:59Uh,
- 35:59Robyn Ivy: get one on the Uber Eats, and we're both grabbing the same, yeah.
- 36:02Mm-hmm.
- 36:04Jerremy: it.
- 36:04Love it.
- 36:05Yeah.
- 36:05I, I think the, the, our educational system is killing us.
- 36:10And it's making us, uh, scared to put kids in school.
- 36:14It's making our kids less smart.
- 36:18It is making our generation and our populace fatter and larger
- 36:23and bigger and more complacent and more docile and less creative.
- 36:28And it's helping us memorize things that we never use.
- 36:33And I believe that if we sit down and we help our children and we
- 36:37help our teachers, and we help our staff become extremely creative
- 36:41thinkers, I believe that a lot of our problems do slowly dissipate.
- 36:46Just as an example, I mean, you mentioned hunger.
- 36:48Obviously that is a component of many, many, many things.
- 36:53But if you have enough smart people in schools, in high schools, middle
- 36:59schools, colleges, universities sit down and go, alright, let's creatively
- 37:02think of these solutions and let's really, really figure out how.
- 37:06This one company, this one product, this one creation can solve that issue.
- 37:12And we are rewarded as a community globally, but also also here in the US for
- 37:18just extremely creative thinking often.
- 37:22I think that that's something that really does make a huge, massive impact.
- 37:26And we're not, we're not doing that in school, right?
- 37:29Our schools are,
- 37:30Robyn Ivy: think it's very difficult to get rid of everything that
- 37:32fosters creativity in a system, and then expect the people to
- 37:36Jerremy: mm-hmm.
- 37:37Robyn Ivy: side with their most creative thinking.
- 37:38Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 37:39Yeah,
- 37:40Robyn Ivy: Right.
- 37:40I am like, well, if we don't support creativity anywhere, and if we don't
- 37:43cr if we don't support, um, feedback and unique perspective and socra
- 37:50conversations, opportunity for people to have various opinions and debate.
- 37:56Gosh, gosh.
- 37:56Debate, did I say debate in
- 37:59Jerremy: Oh, my good.
- 37:59Uh oh, oh, oh.
- 38:01Robyn Ivy: my no Lord.
- 38:03Yeah.
- 38:04What a dangerous concept.
- 38:05Jerremy: Agreed.
- 38:07Robyn Ivy: you know, how are we gonna do anything creatively?
- 38:10Jerremy: Yes.
- 38:11Yeah, I'm with you.
- 38:11And so I, I can see it extremely clearly is we do make huge changes
- 38:18there where we actually have that well, 'cause AI is coming, it's coming.
- 38:22And if we don't sit down as a nation and go, alright, AI overlords,
- 38:27'cause those, those are the people that Dave battles with every day.
- 38:30He battles with the AI overlords.
- 38:32If we don't, if we don't start getting ready and prepared as a, as a nation
- 38:39and also a civilization for what is coming down the pike in 15 to 30 years,
- 38:45people aren't gonna have, they're, they're not gonna be aware to how to
- 38:48have jobs, to how to, to how to create.
- 38:50They're gonna be extremely complacent.
- 38:52And Wally, the kids show the movie that is wildly accurate and hopefully
- 38:59never going to happen, but probably is a 200 year dystopian from now.
- 39:04That's gonna start happening if we don't get extremely creative on making changes.
- 39:07Now
- 39:09Robyn Ivy: and Idiocracy is sad that we just watched that a couple
- 39:11weeks ago together in Miami, and I said, because I, he's like, have you
- 39:14Jerremy: it's a documentary.
- 39:16Robyn Ivy: no, I, what we said.
- 39:17I was like, in what universe is this actually more like how it is?
- 39:21And then it is.
- 39:23It just is.
- 39:24It is so much more like how it is, which is terrifying.
- 39:27Jerremy: Terrifying.
- 39:29Terrifying.
- 39:31I mean, Crocs is a publicly traded company now, and that's what they're all, all
- 39:36the people wearing Crocs in the whole movie, and they were doing it as a joke.
- 39:40Robyn Ivy: on Friday night and I turned to my friend and I was like, I don't
- 39:43know, I, I don't know what drug this is.
- 39:45They're on, I don't, I cannot identify whatever substance has run through
- 39:50this place that we didn't take.
- 39:52Everybody was at a frequency I had.
- 39:54I'm like, I don't know.
- 39:56I know most of them, and I don't know what this is, but people were in some
- 39:59kind of weird of half Kensington, you know, like they were just kinda
- 40:04Jerremy: Hmm.
- 40:05Robyn Ivy: there.
- 40:05I'm like, this is not normal, but this is very much like that movie.
- 40:09Jerremy: Yeah.
- 40:10Yeah.
- 40:11Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 40:11Jerremy: what was your,
- 40:12Robyn Ivy: feel like it's a rally cry for people who are excited
- 40:14and still wanna make a difference.
- 40:16Like, how about now
- 40:17Jerremy: yes, agreed.
- 40:18Dave, what was your, the,
- 40:20Robyn Ivy: the team now.
- 40:21Jerremy: the big one that stood out to you in Idiocracy?
- 40:23Dave,
- 40:24was it the pro wrestling president?
- 40:28Dave: I, I, I mean the, like, every piece of that thing is like, really,
- 40:33really, this was 20 years ago and here we are living this thing.
- 40:36So it's
- 40:39there.
- 40:40I mean, like, it's, it's, it's bonkers, you know,
- 40:43Jerremy: Yeah.
- 40:44Dave: think that this is actually happening.
- 40:46Jerremy: Yeah.
- 40:46Robyn Ivy: the fact that it was 20 years ago is one thing, but the
- 40:48fact that it was intended to be the most absurd thing on that would ever
- 40:52potentially, ever and ever, ever happen
- 40:55Dave: Yeah.
- 40:55Robyn Ivy: it, and it's now more like, not this so alarming.
- 41:00Jerremy: Dave, chances we could get the creator writers on the show.
- 41:04Just have a conversation with him.
- 41:05Robyn Ivy: Dax Shepherd,
- 41:07Dave: And
- 41:07Robyn Ivy: probably.
- 41:08Dave: Mac, uh, no, it's, um,
- 41:10Jerremy: It is possible.
- 41:11I think it's possible
- 41:12Dave: It's a mike
- 41:13Robyn Ivy: Oh, Mike Judge.
- 41:13Got it.
- 41:14Mm-hmm.
- 41:15Jerremy: do,
- 41:15Dave: I'll, I'll reach out.
- 41:17Robyn Ivy: Get on that, Dave.
- 41:18Jerremy: Get on it, Dave.
- 41:19Dave: more people say yes than not, so Yeah.
- 41:21Jerremy: Yeah,
- 41:22Robyn Ivy: know.
- 41:23Jerremy: that's right.
- 41:24Robyn Ivy: Um, Jerremy, what do, when you look at the landscape of your life
- 41:27in this financial container, what do, what do people, are people get wrong?
- 41:33Like, where's the paradigm shift in that?
- 41:35You know, like if people are, where are they so close, but getting it all wrong.
- 41:42Jerremy: That is a very beautiful question.
- 41:45Most individuals, in my opinion, have this extremely u uh, extremely bad belief about
- 41:57the co, the combination of time and money.
- 42:00And so here's what I mean by that.
- 42:03They feel like there is so much time they can do it later.
- 42:09And that is true.
- 42:11So that that's a truth.
- 42:14And since there is so much time and you can do it later, if you start doing
- 42:19it now, the later becomes amazing and says you can start whatever you want.
- 42:27You can start at 67, you can start at 72, you can start at 84.
- 42:30The earlier you start though, the better and easier it becomes.
- 42:35That is the truth.
- 42:36Most people that I connect with, work with discuss, they go, uh, you
- 42:41know, one day, one day, one day.
- 42:43And every time I go through my calendar, I never see, one day I see a Monday, right?
- 42:49Monday's on the calendar, some days not on the calendar, but
- 42:53some Sunday's on the calendar.
- 42:54It's like we gotta start doing this as soon as humanly possible.
- 42:57'cause you said it, money loves speed.
- 42:59Quick, fast example.
- 43:01Tons of people will say.
- 43:03This is a pretty, pretty open statement.
- 43:04I'm not blowing your minds here.
- 43:06Apple's done innovating.
- 43:07They've created the exact same thing for years, and that company's gonna slowly die
- 43:12well for the last two and a half years.
- 43:14So if you go back to just July, 2023, I'm just gonna pick a really random time
- 43:18that's, you know, relatively relevant.
- 43:20July of 2023 on Apple, and until today's price over the last two and a half
- 43:26years, apple's up 47% just in value.
- 43:3047%. They make $90 million net an hour.
- 43:37It's a lot of money.
- 43:39It's a lot of money.
- 43:40Uh, Google is up 85% since April of this year.
- 43:46Robyn Ivy: Wow.
- 43:47Jerremy: there, there are some companies that we,
- 43:49Robyn Ivy: unbelievable because of the messaging that AI's taking over
- 43:52and nobody's using Google, right?
- 43:54Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 43:55I know precisely, yeah.
- 43:56That, that messaging is just wrong.
- 43:58Robyn Ivy: how it appears.
- 43:59Yeah.
- 43:59How.
- 43:59Jerremy: It's almost never how it appears.
- 44:01Yeah.
- 44:01Um, so like, it, it's just a really, really, really wild and beautiful
- 44:05belief and awareness process that when we start looking at and navigating
- 44:09the process, like we need to start investing into assets now because
- 44:13you, you do have enough money.
- 44:15If you have a dollar, you have enough money to start investing into assets.
- 44:18And if you start now, as in today, buying $1 worth of something and
- 44:24you can obviously exponentially it to however much you need to
- 44:27or want to, or have ability to.
- 44:29But, uh, we, we just hired an incredible woman to work with myself and my wife
- 44:33and my family to help us out with our time and to give us more leverage.
- 44:37And she, uh, her name is Nelly.
- 44:40She's really, really sweet.
- 44:41And I'm getting her, I mean, she just really just started working with us like
- 44:44days ago, and I've already given her a Robinhood account and I'm already teaching
- 44:48her how to invest into stocks because I know her background and her background
- 44:52is an amazing background, but it's one of, I need to work really, really hard
- 44:55for money and I need to spend six hours a week and order to provide for my family.
- 45:00And although that is a truth, right?
- 45:02We can and we should.
- 45:03And there, that's an a possibility.
- 45:05What if instead of working 60 hours, we hired her for 40 hours and is paying
- 45:10her the exact same amount she was making when she was making 60 hours.
- 45:13And then I'm also gonna teach her how to make more money by investing and
- 45:16taking some of the capital that we pay her and taking a portion of that.
- 45:20Obviously we all have bills in life.
- 45:22You take a portion of that and you put it into the Googles, the NVIDIAs, the apples,
- 45:26the Teslas of the world, and guess what?
- 45:27The value of your, your value, your net worth is going to increase because
- 45:32those companies are gonna increase because you're betting on America.
- 45:35And I think that's really what people don't understand is when you're buying
- 45:38assets, you're, you're betting on the largest, most powerful, most profitable
- 45:42country that in, in the existence.
- 45:44And if you think that's gonna go away, that's, that's fine.
- 45:47You're entitled to that belief.
- 45:49I'm just telling you that you're mathematically wrong.
- 45:51It's not gonna go away.
- 45:52It's gonna get bigger.
- 45:53Robyn Ivy: it.
- 45:53So putting your money somewhere else is like a way to make sure you're right,
- 45:57which is a terrible idea if winning that it means you don't have a country.
- 46:01Jerremy: Oh my goodness.
- 46:04The quote of the date.
- 46:05Yeah, that's it.
- 46:06Like, what do you like if you're like, no, I don't wanna do that, so I'm just gonna
- 46:09put all my money into like this bunker and guns because the zombies are coming.
- 46:13Robyn Ivy: Okay.
- 46:14Jerremy: Well, so that means you're gonna be fighting zombies in 20 years.
- 46:16Like, that sucks.
- 46:17Like, that's not a great world.
- 46:18Let's, let's, let's prevent that from happening.
- 46:20Let's prevent, prevent the zombies from attacking.
- 46:22Robyn Ivy: direct it towards everybody's wellbeing.
- 46:25Jerremy: Yeah.
- 46:26There you go.
- 46:27Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 46:28all right, so three things that came up when you were saying that is I
- 46:31could feel my own like, oh, Lord, well, how am I gonna learn everything?
- 46:34I would have to learn about this, because this feels like, I don't
- 46:39know what it's taken to learn about parenting 24 years deep.
- 46:42My friend is a lot, and I'm like,
- 46:44Jerremy: Yeah.
- 46:44Robyn Ivy: Is it, do I have to that my inner Sisyphus is like, I'm gonna have
- 46:48to grab another boulder and hit the road.
- 46:51So how can you pacify that fear in me in a
- 46:54Jerremy: yeah.
- 46:55Robyn Ivy: I am?
- 46:57Jerremy: The, the same way my dad did.
- 46:58Where it is as easy as you want it to be, that's, that's what investing is.
- 47:04Um, you don't have to learn everything to know something.
- 47:07You kinda like anything in life.
- 47:11I asked you, how can I connect with my dad who's no longer with us?
- 47:15There's probably a easier way, a quicker way that you could guide me
- 47:19into, and then there's a probably a more in depth way where if I
- 47:22needed to go all the way into it.
- 47:23So that's, that's with Juujitsu.
- 47:27All right.
- 47:27I'm a practitioner, juujitsu.
- 47:28I love doing it.
- 47:29It's an incredible martial art.
- 47:31Uh, I'm nowhere close to good.
- 47:32Yeah.
- 47:33I'm nowhere close to good.
- 47:34I'm terrible.
- 47:35I'm a 16 year white belt, but I, I love it.
- 47:38It's awesome.
- 47:39It's really fun.
- 47:40And just like there's levels, I mean, there's learning, chess, picket,
- 47:45pick anything in life, pickleball, tennis, football, basketball, soccer.
- 47:50You can become an incredibly, incredibly proficient at it
- 47:52and become a professional, like an immaculate professional.
- 47:55Or you can become someone who's aware and.
- 47:58Robyn Ivy: But the difference is that with money, if you get it wrong,
- 48:02people have a whole lot of ugh, about getting that wrong in a way.
- 48:06You don't care if you get the arm bar wrong in Jiujitsu, I think.
- 48:10Jerremy: Yeah, they, they, they can, and I think 'cause wrong is
- 48:13back to the whole time thing, right.
- 48:14It's gonna, they'll, they'll be right if there's enough time.
- 48:17Generally I would say 97%
- 48:20Robyn Ivy: Ah,
- 48:20Jerremy: the time they will be correct over a long enough time horizon.
- 48:24And so when you're putting too short of a time horizon, when I first
- 48:27started trading and doing the stuff in the stock market and day trading,
- 48:30my family literally lit the same week.
- 48:33We're like, alright.
- 48:33So are you a billionaire yet?
- 48:37Like a bi a, a billionaire?
- 48:41No, I have started learning finance a week ago.
- 48:44Um, and yeah.
- 48:46Yeah, it's just, it's just this fascinating asset and it's
- 48:48just fascinating realization.
- 48:49I do think that really ultimately for all of us having the ability for it to, to
- 48:54make things simple, to make it easy, um.
- 48:58For me to you, Robin would be Yes, baby girl, something.
- 49:01Go for it.
- 49:01Yeah, of course.
- 49:03Um, to make it easy would be invest into companies that you know, that
- 49:07you use, that you understand, and it could be any, any amount of money
- 49:12that, that's really the quick answer.
- 49:13And if you do it repeatedly, it will grow.
- 49:16So every time you spend, uh, a Netflix account, put the same amount
- 49:21of money into the Netflix stock.
- 49:23Anytime you buy an Apple iPhone.
- 49:25Robyn Ivy: a great idea.
- 49:26Jerremy: Yeah.
- 49:26Uh, buy some Apple stock.
- 49:28Anytime you pull up Google to search, Google, put some money into Google stock.
- 49:32Every time you get into it, every time you make a car payment, like
- 49:34most people make a car payment to whoever a finance company, Ford,
- 49:38gm, Tesla, somebody, Honda Toyota.
- 49:42Put a little bit of money into that stock.
- 49:43Robyn Ivy: Hmm.
- 49:44Jerremy: If you use the realization that we can all be owners rather than
- 49:48just consumers, your money will grow.
- 49:53So that's a very, very powerful statement, but that's a statement of 100% accuracy.
- 49:57You're betting on America, America's gonna win by the companies that you
- 50:00use, interact with on a daily basis, and your money will grow over time.
- 50:05Robyn Ivy: I love that idea, and I really appreciate you framing that in
- 50:07a way that's very pedestrian relatable.
- 50:10Jerremy: Yeah, sure.
- 50:11Robyn Ivy: makes sense.
- 50:11It makes sense why we would do that.
- 50:13I can hear the kind of, um, flags of social responsibility of where do I
- 50:18wanna, do I wanna be investing in that?
- 50:20And at the same time, I think, well, if you're using them, then
- 50:22you might wanna be checking in with yourself about that anyway.
- 50:24Like, if you don't want to be investing in Apple, then why
- 50:27do you have an Apple iPhone?
- 50:29Jerremy: Come on, champion.
- 50:30Robyn Ivy: want to be
- 50:31Jerremy: Oh,
- 50:31Robyn Ivy: in
- 50:31Jerremy: oh.
- 50:32Robyn Ivy: then maybe you don't want to put gas in your car.
- 50:34Like I, you know, you're accountable to your money.
- 50:38You know, you're accountable to your decisions.
- 50:40Like, this is life folks.
- 50:43Jerremy: Yes, yes.
- 50:44And yes.
- 50:45Drink Starbucks or someone else.
- 50:48It's up to you.
- 50:49I mean, you're all making decisions.
- 50:52We're all making choices.
- 50:53And exactly what you said, we make the social determination and what's
- 50:59responsible and what is valuable for us.
- 51:02As an example, I do not personally invest into oil companies.
- 51:07Robyn Ivy: Mm-hmm.
- 51:08Jerremy: Why?
- 51:08I, I just think it's dirty.
- 51:09That's all.
- 51:10That's it.
- 51:10I just, it is physically not clean.
- 51:13So if there's someone comes into my house and spills a bunch of oil on
- 51:15the floor, I'm gonna notice it, right?
- 51:18That's all.
- 51:18I just don't think it's super, super clean.
- 51:21So I also do invest in, uh, renewable energy systems, right?
- 51:27So I have large investments into solar, into solar companies,
- 51:30into solar technology, because.
- 51:33To me in my, I have no clue how Solar Works.
- 51:36Couldn't explain it.
- 51:37No idea.
- 51:37I don't know how my cell phone works really.
- 51:40Like I just click a button and it things happen.
- 51:43I, how are we not all using the sun?
- 51:45I haven't learned that yet.
- 51:46I No clue.
- 51:48Can't figure it out.
- 51:48It's just this free energy source that just hangs out there.
- 51:52No one has to pay for.
- 51:53We just boop, put on Bang energy.
- 51:56It is kind of mind blowing to me that we don't do that.
- 51:59Uh, and, and it's not because oil is gonna run out and there's a, there's a
- 52:02finite supply and there's only a little bit, and that I don't even come from
- 52:06it from that perspective, I come from the perspective of there's people that
- 52:09have to work really, really, really hard and tirelessly to do all of those
- 52:12things that need to be done for oil.
- 52:13Where you have this ginormous thing.
- 52:16Robyn Ivy: ways.
- 52:17Jerremy: Yeah.
- 52:17Hello.
- 52:18Like, and you could just create solar energy for everyone.
- 52:21Go, you, you, we, Robin, we can go to the corner of, of Utah or Nevada.
- 52:27And, and take out the whole corner of the state and, you know,
- 52:31500,000 acres in solar field and all of America's powered by solar.
- 52:37That's all it would take.
- 52:38Robyn Ivy: I
- 52:39Jerremy: I mean, that's a
- 52:39Robyn Ivy: you see the level of innovation that they have, but it's, again, it kind
- 52:43of goes right back to the willingness to think creatively, to problem solve
- 52:46with a way that keeps everybody, um.
- 52:49You know, it's not a communist idea to consider everybody's wellbeing when your
- 52:53amount of land is finite, but it's, you know, it's easy to prepare it that way
- 52:58here, but it's a matter of understanding The resources are limited and
- 53:02Jerremy: Yeah.
- 53:02Robyn Ivy: need is different.
- 53:04You know, like great.
- 53:05Use 'em as parking lot cover.
- 53:07Why not
- 53:08Jerremy: Yes.
- 53:08Robyn Ivy: wants their car to be cool anyway.
- 53:11Jerremy: Agreed.
- 53:12Yep.
- 53:12Precisely.
- 53:13And I think that those are just, you know, anyway, like that's things for me
- 53:16to understand and be, be aware of is it has nothing to do with certain beliefs.
- 53:22It has everything to do with, I want things to be easy,
- 53:23fast, efficient, simple.
- 53:25And the faster we get there as a society and the more we think about it and the
- 53:29more we debate and have open discussions where I can just simply disagree with
- 53:34you, like me and Dave don't agree on everything, although we agree on a lot
- 53:38of things, um, we can have a beautiful, very easy commonality where it's like,
- 53:43oh, cool, man, I think you're wrong.
- 53:45And you think I'm wrong.
- 53:46And high five, dude, it's love you.
- 53:48You're awesome.
- 53:49But that's like playing poker or playing chess or playing a sport.
- 53:52There will be a loser.
- 53:54It's okay.
- 53:56It's not, doesn't mean that you're a bad person.
- 53:57It means that you played a game over a period of time and someone
- 54:00lost because of the result was you lost and someone else won.
- 54:04Like, that is all right.
- 54:05It's okay for that to happen.
- 54:08Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 54:09I really value multiple perspectives.
- 54:11I spent like 30 years as a commercial photographer, and the entire career is
- 54:16essentially wrapped around the idea that there is no one way to look at anything.
- 54:20And in fact, if you're only looking at it one way, you're really
- 54:22missing 99% of other possibilities of how to see something.
- 54:27it's true about ourselves.
- 54:28It's true about like what we think is possible with our money.
- 54:30Like if you are also in your fifties, like I learned when I inherited
- 54:34some money a handful of years ago, it's like you can start at any time.
- 54:37Like you, your own thinking about money or your ability to
- 54:40invest is the only limitation.
- 54:42Because if you tell yourself that, you're gonna have to pick up the
- 54:45Boulder and start going, that's also just a thought you're having.
- 54:48It's not necessarily how it has to be.
- 54:50That's just one thought you chose to have about what it would be like
- 54:53to start getting healthy with money.
- 54:55But that
- 54:56Jerremy: Mm.
- 54:56Robyn Ivy: to change as like, I'm gonna not have ice cream
- 54:59at 10 o'clock in the morning.
- 55:01Right.
- 55:01It's
- 55:01Jerremy: Or at night.
- 55:04Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 55:04Or whenever.
- 55:04Yeah.
- 55:05Or you
- 55:05Jerremy: Yeah.
- 55:06Robyn Ivy: however.
- 55:07Jerremy: Exactly.
- 55:08Robyn Ivy: knowing that we're really like a few thoughts away
- 55:10from it not being a problem.
- 55:11I,
- 55:12Jerremy: Yeah.
- 55:12Precisely.
- 55:12I, I'm, I'm gonna openly share this with all of your listeners too.
- 55:15The, the week of like, Christmas week, I'm, I'm, I just eat cookies
- 55:20and sugar and just get fat and just do nothing for, for a long time.
- 55:25I like it.
- 55:26I enjoy it.
- 55:27But again, to the point of, I think it should be absolutely okay where we all
- 55:31can just sit down and just relax and have a good time and, and do our thing.
- 55:34But that's balance.
- 55:35That's the, you can schedule it.
- 55:37That's the creation ahead of time.
- 55:38That's the thought process ahead of time.
- 55:40That's what all these conversations are almost always gonna keep coming back to
- 55:43is clarity of time, clarity of purpose, clarity of intentionality, knowing how
- 55:48to sit down, think and grow rich, right?
- 55:51The book is not called Work Harder to Make More Money.
- 55:54It's called Think and Grow Rich.
- 55:55And so we have to be able to use our thoughts and our
- 55:57thoughts can become things.
- 55:58And if thoughts become things, then our words create our world.
- 56:03And that's why I think it's called Universe, right?
- 56:05You are the verses that we speak out loud.
- 56:07So if you start speaking to yourself, I do love money.
- 56:09Money is incredible.
- 56:10What an amazing tool that money is for myself and for my family.
- 56:14I want to interact with it and grow it and expand it because it's so awesome and it's
- 56:19incredible everything that it does for me.
- 56:22You start speaking like that and using those words often daily,
- 56:26guess what's gonna happen?
- 56:27You're gonna start having a better relationship with money
- 56:29and your wealth is going to grow.
- 56:32Robyn Ivy: And noticing, I mean, no matter what your circumstances are right now,
- 56:35noticing the abundance of blessings.
- 56:38And I don't mean that in some kind of like hashtag blessed silliness.
- 56:41I mean, truly looking around on a cold day and recognizing like, you are lucky
- 56:46enough to have a warm place to be.
- 56:47You do have someone to call.
- 56:49There is something to eat in the fridge.
- 56:52There is, you know, we're so resourced in ways that we just
- 56:55don't say thank you enough.
- 56:57You know, if, if any of this were to go, we'd care about it.
- 57:01So in the moment that we have it, it's really a practice.
- 57:03I think it's a devotional practice to just say, I'm gonna be as
- 57:07consistent with my acknowledgement of this as I am of the lack of it.
- 57:12Jerremy: Mm.
- 57:12Robyn Ivy: know, you spent all this time being aware of what's not here.
- 57:15What about the practice of like, thank you for what is here.
- 57:18Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 57:18Robyn Ivy: you for what is here.
- 57:20Jerremy: Yes.
- 57:20Well, you appreciate appreciates as Oprah Winfrey said.
- 57:25So you, you, you don't, you don't pray or ask or hope from
- 57:30a place of want of I have less.
- 57:34Right?
- 57:34It's not from a place of lack.
- 57:35It's from a place of love.
- 57:37Thank you for what I have.
- 57:38Uh, I would love more.
- 57:40It's a powerful statement.
- 57:41Like, I love what I have.
- 57:42It's incredible.
- 57:42I want more.
- 57:43And it doesn't have to be for you.
- 57:46You can have more.
- 57:46I want more from my cell phone.
- 57:48Robyn Ivy: resourced
- 57:50Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 57:50Robyn Ivy: we feel, the, the easier it is to give it away.
- 57:53You know,
- 57:53Jerremy: Let's go.
- 57:53Robyn Ivy: on what we don't have, we're not gonna be giving that much.
- 57:56Jerremy: Yes.
- 57:57Yes.
- 57:58And that's, I love those conversations because I do get a little slack sometimes
- 58:02when I get on stage and I say, you're selfish if you do not make enough money.
- 58:07Because who are you really, truly, ultimately providing for?
- 58:11If you make $40,000 a year and hey, no hate on it.
- 58:14I've, I was there for a long time in my life, right?
- 58:17The first 20 years of my life, 19 years of my life,
- 58:22guess who I was helping?
- 58:24No one.
- 58:25I, I mean, maybe I would tip a waitress 15%, 10%, but probably not.
- 58:30I would find ways to kind of skirt around tips, and I would do things
- 58:34that I, I didn't have that much money, so I couldn't circulate it.
- 58:37I didn't ever go to
- 58:38Robyn Ivy: Hmm.
- 58:39Jerremy: charity galas.
- 58:41Right.
- 58:41I never donated money ever to anyone for any reason.
- 58:45I didn't have any, so it's okay to go.
- 58:48I love what I have.
- 58:48I love my $48,000 a year.
- 58:50This is amazing.
- 58:51Thank you.
- 58:51God.
- 58:52Give me more.
- 58:53I know, I know there's some available, I know there's more available.
- 58:55Let me figure out how.
- 58:56Gimme the insight, gimme the wisdom, gimme the knowledge, the path,
- 58:58the opportunities, the blessings.
- 59:00Give me more because I know more is available.
- 59:03Robyn Ivy: I love it.
- 59:05Jerremy: Yeah.
- 59:06Robyn Ivy: because otherwise what are we doing?
- 59:08Jerremy: Mm-hmm.
- 59:09Robyn Ivy: Yeah.
- 59:10Yeah.
- 59:10Cool.
- 59:11Jerremy, where can people find out more about you and learn more
- 59:14about you and connect with you?
- 59:17Jerremy: I have an awesome social media team.
- 59:20Um, if anybody connects with me, they could reach out.
- 59:23Jerremy Newsome on all platforms.
- 59:25My name is built with two Rs, so my dad's name was Jerry
- 59:30and stands for Jerry and me.
- 59:32Uh, Jerremy and for my podcast solving America's Problems Anywhere that you
- 59:37listen to podcasts and on all the socials, I would love for people to reach out and
- 59:42connect with me on, on that podcast so we can continue grow, growing the platform,
- 59:47helping people see, know, and understand how we can all be a part of the solution.
- 59:51How education is going to be the root fix for almost everything that we are
- 59:54struggling over, and that we worry over.
- 59:56Because the more we educate, the more we are aware, the more we are aware,
- 1:00:02the more we can have a an extreme clear path on where to go to how to fix it.
- 1:00:06And we love having guests on the show.
- 1:00:09It was an absolute honor and privilege to meet you, and I am quite confident
- 1:00:13that we'll see each other when I pop up to Rhode Island in a month from now.
- 1:00:17Robyn Ivy: Yeah, I am looking forward to it and I really appreciate the chance
- 1:00:19to guest, host on here and hang out with you guys and share the message.
- 1:00:23I think it's a really beautiful opportunity to speak into wholeness
- 1:00:28because it's not, uh, it's no different if it's money or if it's your faith,
- 1:00:32or it's your relationship or your marriage or the way you parent, or
- 1:00:35the way you wanna serve our community.
- 1:00:38If we're not all in this together, then we're really not gonna make this happen.
- 1:00:43Jerremy: That's right.
- 1:00:45Robyn Ivy: Hmm.
- 1:00:46Thank you for this.
