- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. So,
- 0:06now that the Wall Street Journal has released their article
- 0:09or multiple article series about Jeffrey Epstein's calendar, it seems
- 0:15that some in the legacy media are finally taking notice
- 0:18of what was going on here and they're starting to
- 0:21at least talk about it a little bit. And today
- 0:24we have an article from Vice News, which isn't really
- 0:28known for their exemplary Epstein coverage. They have an article
- 0:32out talking about the relationship between Epstein and Bill Gates.
- 0:37So let's see what Vice News has to say about
- 0:40this relationship, and let's see how often we have to
- 0:43correct them. Headline what we know and don't know about
- 0:47Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein. This article was authored by
- 0:52Tim Marshman, and like I said, it was published by
- 0:55Vice News four years after the relationship between Bill Gates
- 1:00and Jeffrey Epstein was first made public. Surprisingly little is
- 1:04known about it, largely because Gates and his public relations
- 1:07team have consistently refused to answer basic questions, concealed information,
- 1:13and said things that aren't exactly true. Gates has expressed
- 1:17exasperation at being asked questions about Epstein claiming to have
- 1:21answered them for the one hundredth time, but never has
- 1:24said how many times the two met or when, And
- 1:27because much of what he has said has proved to
- 1:30be at best misleading, his explanations of the nature of
- 1:34the relationship lack credibility. So far, so good from mister
- 1:38Marchman here, because that's exactly what happened. Bill Gates is
- 1:42somebody that was very close to Epstein. No matter what
- 1:45his denials tell us, the facts tell us something different.
- 1:49And all of the paling around that should really tell
- 1:52you all you need to know. Nobody's driving around New
- 1:55York City going to meetings with somebody that they're not
- 1:58friendly with. I mean, you might go to meetings with
- 2:01people you're not friendly with, but you're not driving there together.
- 2:04You're not paling around moving from one locale to the next.
- 2:09All of this has a paradoxical effect on the public's
- 2:12understanding of the relationship between the one time world's wealthiest
- 2:17man and now deceased child sex trafficker who mysteriously close
- 2:21to some of the world's most powerful people, including former
- 2:24Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. I'm surprised they even
- 2:28mentioned Bill Clinton in this article. Usually they'll just say,
- 2:31you know Donald Trump and then mention alex Acosta. A
- 2:35sort of version of Gresham's law has been at play,
- 2:38with bad information driving out good. Everyone already knows about
- 2:43Gates and Epstein, even if much of what they know,
- 2:46such as the claim which periodically goes viral that Gates
- 2:49visited Epstein's private island dozens of times, isn't actually true. Well,
- 2:54they're not lying about that. I've never seen anything to
- 2:58confirm that Gates was there does of times, or that
- 3:01Gates engaged in abusing anybody. That's not what I'm saying.
- 3:05My point is this, Why is somebody like Bill Gates,
- 3:08mister richest man in the world, even thinking about trying
- 3:11to get money from somebody who has been convicted of
- 3:13crimes like Jeffrey Epstein. Where's the thought process there? How
- 3:18is that even a thing? If you're Bill Gates, don't
- 3:21you have a bunch of other people you can get
- 3:23money from. So none of it makes sense. And as
- 3:25far as the pictures go, I have to say, there
- 3:28are a lot of fake pictures surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, the
- 3:31people that were hanging out with them and the island.
- 3:33But does that mean there are no pictures of Bill
- 3:36Gates down there? I can't say that. I don't know
- 3:38for sure now. I haven't seen any pictures of Bill
- 3:41Gates hanging out on the island or anything like that
- 3:44that have been confirmed. And the people that put out
- 3:47the fake pictures and stuff like that, they're really only
- 3:50hurting the case overall, because what it does is it
- 3:53gives room for people like this author to start calling
- 3:56people conspiracy theorists. And while there certainly are a bunch
- 3:59of conspiracy floating around surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, one thing is
- 4:03a goddamn certainty Jeffrey Epstein and his criminal enterprise. Oh
- 4:08it was a conspiracy, all right, but not a conspiracy theory.
- 4:11A conspiracy to human traffic and longder money. That's what
- 4:16the conspiracy was. No theory added to the end of that, folks.
- 4:21This means that genuinely new information such as that contained
- 4:25in a Wall Street Journal story published this week doesn't
- 4:28have quite the impact it might well not for nothing,
- 4:30mister author of the article. That's because people like you
- 4:34think that you have a handle and a grip on
- 4:36the Epstein story, when the reality is you most certainly
- 4:40do not. Gates' strategy of obfuscation has left them closely
- 4:45associated with the infamous criminal, but also created confusion that
- 4:50diminishes the power of new revelations. No, they do not.
- 4:54Only if you're somebody who's worried about giving ammunition quote
- 4:58unquote to the other side. You know that a lot
- 5:00of these journalists are political activists making pretend that they're journalists.
- 5:06The effect of all of this is that the public
- 5:08remains in the dark about the nature of the close
- 5:11association between one of the world's most powerful men and
- 5:14the pedophile who sexually exploited dozens of children, which began
- 5:19after Epstein had already been convicted of procuring a minor
- 5:23for prostitution in two thousand and eight and just served
- 5:26over a year in prison. Later, the sweetheart deal he
- 5:30obtained from prosecutors would be revealed by the Miami Herald,
- 5:33and a series of reports would lay out the cottage
- 5:36industry that sprang up around Epstein systematically paying off and
- 5:41silencing his victims. The cottage industry, well, guess what, mister
- 5:46journalist advice. There wouldn't be a cottage industry if you
- 5:50and your pals in the legacy media did your fucking job.
- 5:53How about that? Instead of trying to gas people up
- 5:56to hate their neighbors, why not direct them towards their
- 5:59real Nay, and those enemies are scumbags like this Bill Gates,
- 6:04Jeffrey Epstein and all of the other so called elite
- 6:07that don't give a fuck about you. Oh you're poor,
- 6:09that's all right, Let the meet war. The Journal story
- 6:13is based on calendars. The paper's reporters obtained and documents
- 6:17one day September eighth, twenty fourteen, on which Epstein had
- 6:21arranged to meet with several powerful figures in New York,
- 6:25Among them was Gates, with whom he was scheduled to
- 6:28spend six hours spread across meetings with four different people
- 6:31at four different locations, including Epstein's townhouse. It also documents
- 6:36four additional days on which Epstein and Gates were, according
- 6:40to Epstein's calendar, scheduled to meet, at least three of
- 6:43which appear to have been previously unknown. This is extremely
- 6:48significant because it substantially increases the amount of specific known
- 6:52meetings between the two and shows that they were meeting
- 6:56on specific dates late into twenty fourteen. In fact, the
- 7:01relationship had caused conflict between Gates and his then wife,
- 7:05Melinda French Gates, which would ultimately end in their divorce.
- 7:09But here's the thing, mister author, We've been telling you
- 7:12this for years. How many people have been telling you
- 7:16about the close nature of the relationship between Bill Gates
- 7:20and Jeffrey Epstein, and how many of these journalists let
- 7:23their own bias get in the way from them believing it.
- 7:26As Bill Gates said many times before, a spokesperson told
- 7:29the journal it was a mistake to have ever met
- 7:32with him, and he deeply regrets it. This is the
- 7:35line Gates has gone with for years. To understand just
- 7:38how inadequate an explanation it is requires understanding what we
- 7:42definitely know about his relationship with Epstein and how we
- 7:46know it. In August twenty nineteen, four days after Epstein
- 7:50died by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell. So a
- 7:53guy who's decrying conspiracy theories is out here talking about
- 7:57Jeffrey Epstein died of suicide in his jail cell, and
- 8:00he knows that for a fact. Why because the government
- 8:02told them, Oh, okay, well that's cool. If you want
- 8:04to believe that, then that's great. But me. I'm gonna
- 8:07need a little confirmation, especially when it's Bill Barr being
- 8:11the voice telling us that he's the guy who saw
- 8:14all of the evidence, he saw the videos, he knows
- 8:18what happened, and we should all believe him. Here's an idea,
- 8:20release those videos to the public. How about that. What's
- 8:24stopping you from doing that. It's not a state secret.
- 8:26We're not talking about national security here. We're talking about
- 8:30a child molester who died in a jail cell. Let's
- 8:33call it what it is. Now. Give us the information
- 8:36and give us all of the details, full and complete transparency.
- 8:40Nothing else is acceptable. And instead of working towards that end,
- 8:45reporters like this one, journalists like this one instead get
- 8:48on here and cry about conspiracy theories, instead of taking
- 8:51the time to write a big ass article demanding accountability.
- 8:56After CNBC reported that Gates and Epstein had spoken more
- 9:00more than once and met at least once in New
- 9:02York in twenty thirteen, after which Gates, according to people
- 9:06with knowledge of the matter, flew upon Beach on Epstein's
- 9:09private plane. A spokesperson told the network Epstein never provided tax,
- 9:14a state or services of any kind to Bill Gates. Now,
- 9:18it was just his friendship, right, his companionship Epstein such
- 9:21a cool guy that I want to go and hang
- 9:23out with them. Is that what Bill Gates said? Because
- 9:25remember we're talking about a man who could be with
- 9:28anybody he wants in the whole world. He chose to
- 9:31spend his time with Jeffrey Epstein. And there's no amount
- 9:34of spin or nonsense that any reporter or journalist can
- 9:38toss on that to change it a bit. More than
- 9:41two weeks later, France Info reported that, according to Epstein's handyman,
- 9:46Gates and French Gates had been guessed at Epstein's luxury
- 9:49apartment on Avenue Folk in Paris one hundred percent. They
- 9:53were just like Harvey Weinstein was a guest there and
- 9:56so many others. Any hint of business or a personal
- 10:00relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and Bill and Melinda Gates, a
- 10:04spokesperson told the outlet is totally false, only to find
- 10:07out that it's not. But you're all engaging in conspiracy
- 10:10theories here, Mike. Around this time, the Wall Street Journal
- 10:14interviewed Gates, who was promoting a Netflix documentary about himself,
- 10:19asked to describe his relationship with Epstein, Gates said, I
- 10:22met him, I didn't have any business relationship or friendship
- 10:25with him. I didn't go to New Mexico or Florida
- 10:28or Palm Beach or any of that lies all of
- 10:32its lies. And if he has nothing to hide, why
- 10:35is he lying about this relationship. A week after that,
- 10:38on September sixth, twenty nineteen, The New Yorker published a
- 10:42report about the relationship between Epstein and the MIT Media Lab.
- 10:47In October twenty fourteen, Gates had donated two million dollars
- 10:51to the lab. An email from director joy Eto to
- 10:53the magazine obtained said this is a two million dollar
- 10:57gift from Bill Gates directed by jeffre Epstein. A spokesperson
- 11:01told the magazine that any claim that Epstein directed any
- 11:06programmatic or personal grant making for Bill Gates is completely false.
- 11:11Several days later, the journal interview, which took place before
- 11:14The New Yorker broke the MIT story was published, carried
- 11:18a statement from a Gates spokesperson. Although Epstein pursued Bill
- 11:22Gates aggressively, any account of a business partnership or personal
- 11:26relationship between the two is simply not true, and any
- 11:30claim that Epstein directed any programmatic or personal grant making
- 11:34for Bill Gates is completely false. Oh yeah, I'm sure
- 11:37it's all false. All of this is just bs and
- 11:40we all just made it up. They were never friends,
- 11:42They never hung out, they never palled around. Bill Gates
- 11:45never flew on that plane. On October twelve, twenty nineteen,
- 11:49The New York Times published what was and remains the
- 11:52most in depth examination of the relationship between the software
- 11:56tycoon and the criminal. You mean, the pedophile. What's making
- 12:00you not call him that? Mister author of this article.
- 12:04Mister Gates met with mister Epstein on numerous occasions, the
- 12:07Times reported, including at least three times at mister Epstein's
- 12:10palatial Manhattan townhouse and at least one staying laid into
- 12:14the night. According to the paper, the two men were
- 12:17introduced by Boris Nikolitch, the science advisor for gates multi
- 12:21billion dollar foundation. The report identified three distinct occasions in
- 12:27two thousand and eight on which the two had met
- 12:30a party in January at Epstein's townhouse, a conference in
- 12:34March in Long Beach, and to get together in May
- 12:37again at Epstein's townhouse, where they were surrounded by the
- 12:41likes of Nicolitch and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, as
- 12:45well as on one occasion in September twenty thirteen, when
- 12:49the two met when Gates flew to Palm Beach on
- 12:51Epstein's private airplane from New Jersey, though it wasn't clear
- 12:56if this was the same twenty thirteen flight on which
- 12:59CNBC reported. So I think that we can take from
- 13:02this that Bill Gates was on that plane more times
- 13:05than it was documented. I think that's a safe assumption here.
- 13:09Bill Gates regrets ever meeting with Epstein and recognizes it
- 13:13was an error in judgment to do so. Bridget Arnold,
- 13:16a spokesperson for Gates, told The Times. She asserted that
- 13:19her client, who had spent decades as the richest or
- 13:22one of the richest men in the world, had had
- 13:25security apparatus of a head of state, had flown on
- 13:28Epstein's private plane without knowing who he was. She would
- 13:32not say how many times the two had met, And
- 13:34it's always the same story. I'm so sad and mad
- 13:37that I was hanging out with Epstein. I regret my
- 13:40relationship with them. No, you regret getting caught, You regret
- 13:44being outed. As of October twenty nineteen. Then, despite the
- 13:48various carefully phrased denials of a business or personal relationship
- 13:53he made and that were made on his behalf, reports
- 13:56which Gates did not dispute, documented at least five distinct
- 14:00meetings between him and Epstein over a period of nearly
- 14:04three years, for in New York and one in Long Beach.
- 14:07It had also been reported that Gates had flown on
- 14:10Epstein's private plane and visited his Paris apartment. Stuff that
- 14:15we have been talking about here literally for years. Okay,
- 14:18it's nice that the legacy media is finally catching up,
- 14:21but we've been talking about this stuff for years. This
- 14:25all amounted to solid evidence of a substantial relationship of
- 14:28some kind between the two men, and as the person
- 14:31closest to Gates was aware, there was more of the
- 14:34public didn't know. When The Times published its investigation into
- 14:39the relationship, The Wall Street Journal would report years later,
- 14:43Melinda French Gates held calls with divorce lawyers, one issue
- 14:46that led to her want to end the marriage. The
- 14:49paper were reported accurately, as she confirmed last year in
- 14:52an interview with CBS, was her husband's relationship with Epstein.
- 14:57She was also aware of another meeting between the two
- 15:00two men in September twenty thirteen, which hadn't been known
- 15:03to the public and wouldn't be until The Daily Beast
- 15:06reported it in twenty twenty one. She knew about it
- 15:09because she had been at it, and, according to The Beast,
- 15:13soon after said she was furious at the relationship. Can
- 15:16you imagine your husband hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein. I
- 15:21wanted to see who this man was, and I regretted
- 15:23it from the second I stepped in the door, She
- 15:26told CBS, I had nightmares about it afterwards. Two years ago,
- 15:30The Daily Beast reported that Gates and Epstein had in
- 15:33fact met dozens of times into twenty fourteen, and that
- 15:37Epstein had counseled Gates on his struggling marriage. Your characterization
- 15:42of his meetings with Epstein and others about philanthropy is inaccurate,
- 15:46a spokesperson told The Daily Beast. I don't buy that
- 15:49for a minute. The Daily Beast has done real good
- 15:52work when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein in his pals,
- 15:55and I have to believe that what they did here
- 15:58was solid as well, because when we're talking about a
- 16:01guy like Bill Gates, He's done nothing but lie, so
- 16:04why would I give him the benefit of the doubt
- 16:06at all? While it's possible this review inadvertently omits other information,
- 16:12all of this together amounts to about what we knew
- 16:15about the relationship between Gates and Epstein before the Journal
- 16:18published its story this week. We knew they had met
- 16:21at least six times between twenty eleven and twenty thirteen,
- 16:26and perhaps as many times as late as twenty fourteen,
- 16:30that the relationship played a key role in precipitating Gates's divorce,
- 16:35and that Gates denied there was any business or personal
- 16:38relationship between him and Epstein before extensive documentation of the
- 16:43relationship caused him to shift to simply expressing regret for
- 16:47meeting with Epstein in an attempt to secure billions of
- 16:50dollars for global public health projects. The Journal's reporting established
- 16:56that the two were regularly meeting later than had previously
- 16:59been specif documented, including in the months leading up to
- 17:03the two million dollar gift for MIT Media Lab that's
- 17:07MIT internal record show as having been given and directed
- 17:11by Epstein. Due to opaque labeling of a graphic, it's
- 17:14not clear if the earliest meeting documented in the calendars
- 17:18was in September twenty thirteen, and if so, whether it
- 17:22was one of the two meetings that month that was
- 17:24previously reported on. So it isn't clear exactly how many
- 17:29new meetings were revealed, and I don't think that really matters, honestly.
- 17:34I think that it reaffirms what we already knew, and
- 17:37when you have this documentation following along with what we
- 17:41already knew, I think there is zero debate to be
- 17:44had about the relationship between Epstein and Bill Gates. These
- 17:49dudes were tight and it was a lot more than
- 17:51just paling around talking about work. In the years since
- 17:55its ties to Epstein were first reported on, Gates has
- 17:58repeatedly addressed them in public. In twenty nineteen, at a
- 18:01deal book conference, he described the relationship as a mistake
- 18:04in judgment. In twenty twenty one, he told CNN it
- 18:08was a huge mistake to spend time with them. This year,
- 18:11he told Australia's ABC, I shouldn't have had dinners with
- 18:14them and expressed exasperation at having to answer questions about
- 18:18the subject for the one hundredth time. Well, you give
- 18:20one hundred different answers every time you're asked. There are
- 18:23many open questions about the exact nature of the relationship
- 18:27between Gates and Epstein. Saying so doesn't imply that the
- 18:31answers must be untoward, or that gates explanation that he
- 18:34met with Epstein to discuss philanthropy and ended the relationship
- 18:38after it became clear that continued dialogue would prove fruitless
- 18:42is untrue. It's amazing how this author continues to give
- 18:46Bill Gates the benefit of the doubt given the journals
- 18:50reporting this week, though, the most basic and easily answered questions,
- 18:54which Gates could address with one number and two dates,
- 18:58seem more important than ever, how many times did he
- 19:00meet Jeffrey Epstein and when did he do so for
- 19:03the first and last time. It can't be a surprise
- 19:06that in the absence of such basic information, conspiracy theories,
- 19:10some ridiculous and some less so, would thrive. And it's
- 19:14all about the conspiracy theories, right, That's all these people
- 19:17want to talk about. But think back a few years
- 19:20when they were telling us that Bill Gates hanging out
- 19:23with Jeffrey Epstein was a conspiracy theory too, And just
- 19:26like most things that have to do with Jeffrey Epstein.
- 19:29It's all a conspiracy theory until it's not all right, folks,
- 19:34that's going to do it for this one. All of
- 19:36the information that goes with the episode can be found
- 19:39in the description box.
