- 0:15Speaker 1: let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. Let's go
- 0:20Speaker 1: to Jamie in New Jersey. Jamie, how you doing?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Hey, Mark. Great show as always. I was going to
- 0:27Speaker 2: tell you two things. The first thing is, you know,
- 0:31Speaker 2: the Libs keep forgetting that it took JFK Jr. like
- 0:34Speaker 2: three or four times to pass the bar.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Well, it was three times, and the third time his
- 0:38Speaker 1: mother had to make some special arrangements for him to pass.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Oh, was that the West?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Listen, he was a friend of mine. He was
- 0:47Speaker 1: a nice guy. He was not the brightest guy in
- 0:50Speaker 1: the world.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah. And the second thing is, did you ever really
- 0:55Speaker 2: think about like penning a biography or something because between,
- 1:00Speaker 2: you know, knowing like Sinatra and, you know, all.
- 1:05Speaker 1: The, all the, uh, I have about 12 book deals
- 1:09Speaker 1: I've had through the years, but I can never force
- 1:11Speaker 1: myself to sit down and start writing. I know I
- 1:13Speaker 1: got to do it. I got to do it.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I mean, it would just be incredible. I mean, the
- 1:18Speaker 2: people that you've known, let's calm down.
- 1:20Speaker 1: It won't be war and peace, but you're right. I
- 1:22Speaker 1: should do it.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I should do it.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I got to, I got to force myself.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Well, you know, it definitely would be some great reading.
- 1:28Speaker 2: And again, you know, it's just, it would be something
- 1:32Speaker 2: to look forward to.
- 1:33Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I'll start working on it. I'll start sitting down and
- 1:37Speaker 1: actually writing. Let's go to John in Bayville. John, how
- 1:41Speaker 1: you doing?
- 1:41Speaker 3: Okay, Mark. How are you?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:44Speaker 1: What are you in the trunk of a car?
- 1:46Speaker 3: I'm in my car. I'm driving.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Okay. My question to you, has anybody in all our
- 1:53Speaker 3: presidents in Congress ever decide to come out with an
- 1:56Speaker 3: amendment against having non-born or people born abroad running for
- 2:03Speaker 3: office at any office in our country?
- 2:05Speaker 1: Well, people have talked about it. Nobody's proposed it. The
- 2:09Speaker 1: problem is there's a lot of people in Congress that
- 2:13Speaker 1: weren't born in the United States. You got to be
- 2:16Speaker 1: born in the United States to be president. We can
- 2:18Speaker 1: understand that because you're leading. You might be leading us
- 2:22Speaker 1: in a war or something. But banning people who weren't
- 2:29Speaker 1: born in the country from even running for Congress.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I don't know. That's stretching it a bit. Let's go
- 2:36Speaker 1: to Nick in Mount Vernon. Nick, how you doing?
- 2:39Speaker 5: Good, Mark. Good job. Love your show.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 2:42Speaker 5: What's the story with daylight saving time? Is he going
- 2:45Speaker 5: to eliminate it?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, probably. It's not going to happen this time because, like,
- 2:49Speaker 1: in two weeks, you've got to set your clock back
- 2:52Speaker 1: an hour. But it got knocked out. They almost got
- 2:58Speaker 1: it done, but there were a couple of states opposing it.
- 3:01Speaker 1: One was, was it Arkansas, where the problem is a
- 3:06Speaker 1: time zone is big. Like if you're in New York
- 3:12Speaker 1: and it's getting dark at 6 o'clock, if you're all
- 3:16Speaker 1: the way at the end of the time zone, like
- 3:17Speaker 1: in Michigan, it's not getting dark till 7 o'clock. There's
- 3:21Speaker 1: a one-hour difference from the beginning of the time zone
- 3:23Speaker 1: to the end as far as the darkness and the daylight.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So the problem is, I think the state was Arkansas.
- 3:30Speaker 1: They're at the end of a time zone. They're on
- 3:32Speaker 1: the cusp of a time zone. So it would stay
- 3:35Speaker 1: dark here till about 7, 30, well... in that state
- 3:39Speaker 1: in the winter it'll stay dark till 8 30 so
- 3:42Speaker 1: they pretty much blocked it well we'll get this permanent
- 3:45Speaker 1: daylight saving time not in time for this year but
- 3:47Speaker 1: we'll get it eventually let's go to pam in new
- 3:50Speaker 1: jersey pam how you.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Doing hi um you asked how did new england become
- 3:55Speaker 4: so liberal uh it started a lot of the time
- 3:59Speaker 4: not not totally but during the vietnam war when liberal
- 4:03Speaker 4: artists went up there on their way to canada but
- 4:05Speaker 4: sometimes some of them stopped short and went out in
- 4:08Speaker 4: the woods and did their art thing and formed enclaves
- 4:12Speaker 4: of liberalism. There's still enclaves in Canada, too, of these groups.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the beginning, the liberals moving up there.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But then it really sped up in the 70s, 80s,
- 4:23Speaker 1: like a lot of New Yorkers, Brooklynites, Bernie Sanders, all
- 4:28Speaker 1: those people. They went up to Vermont and they took
- 4:29Speaker 1: over the whole state. The old Vermont guard didn't know
- 4:32Speaker 1: what the hell hit him when these tough guys from
- 4:34Speaker 1: Brooklyn came and took over. But it's been happening everywhere. Maine,
- 4:38Speaker 1: especially during the pandemic, a lot of the left-wingers, real
- 4:41Speaker 1: left-wingers out of Massachusetts, all during that pandemic were moving
- 4:46Speaker 1: up to Maine. It doesn't take a lot of people
- 4:48Speaker 1: to change the demographic makeup. Maine's got a small population,
- 4:52Speaker 1: and they did change it. Let's go to Bob in Florida. Bob,
- 4:56Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 4:58Speaker 2: I'm hanging in there, you know, I'm day to day mostly,
- 5:00Speaker 2: but I'm calling about the horse Cape horse carriage caper.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 3: But how it relates.
- 5:05Speaker 2: To the, uh, the, uh, fake news being like off
- 5:10Speaker 2: the charts with every story that would appeal to some, uh,
- 5:14Speaker 2: you know, left-wing group.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It's just cheap, cheap virtue. It's cheap virtue signaling the, uh, problem,
- 5:21Speaker 1: a death caught by the horse and carriages one in
- 5:24Speaker 1: a hundred years. Death by e-bikes, 133 in seven years.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Just seven years.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah, with Oscar Belgal and Mayor Mondami demanding that ICE
- 5:36Speaker 2: be removed from the city. Oh, come on. All he's
- 5:39Speaker 2: trying to do is.
- 5:39Speaker 1: No, it's another good point. Listen, these shootings are awful
- 5:43Speaker 1: when they happen. ICE has had three of these shootings,
- 5:47Speaker 1: but that's out of 600,000 arrests. That's a pretty good
- 5:50Speaker 1: track record, 600,000 arrests, and only three had problems like that.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing?
- 5:59Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I'm okay. Mayor Mondami's always grousing
- 6:03Speaker 5: and complaining about the cost of daycare. Well, hello, Mondami.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Years ago, it wasn't necessary for two people in a family,
- 6:13Speaker 5: the husband and the wife, to go out and work.
- 6:16Speaker 5: It's only because your ilk, Mondami, Kathy Hochul, and all
- 6:22Speaker 5: of the Democrats in the city legislature and the state legislature,
- 6:26Speaker 5: because when I was a kid... My mother only worked
- 6:30Speaker 5: four hours a day. My mother was a cook in
- 6:33Speaker 5: an Italian restaurant that had largely a lunch trade. So
- 6:38Speaker 5: after we went off to school, my mother went to
- 6:40Speaker 5: work in the kitchen and everything. And before school let
- 6:43Speaker 5: out at 2.30, a quarter to 3.00, My mother was
- 6:48Speaker 5: pretty much finished. It was only because of, over the years,
- 6:52Speaker 5: the cost of living, mainly the taxes, the fees, and
- 6:57Speaker 5: the regulations going up that made it necessary for two
- 7:02Speaker 5: people in a family to have to work. That's on you, Democrats.
- 7:07Speaker 5: That's on you, Mondami. But on a lighter note, Mom,
- 7:11Speaker 5: you were speaking about great Christmas trees. Everybody listen to this.
- 7:15Speaker 1: All right, we only got a few seconds.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Go ahead. At the end of Montague Street on Brooklyn Heights,
- 7:21Speaker 5: right where the promenade begins, right before Thanksgiving, they set
- 7:26Speaker 5: up a massive, beautiful Christmas tree. And on one side
- 7:30Speaker 5: is the house where Linda Blair did the exorcist. But
- 7:34Speaker 5: right beyond it, still in view, is the lower harbor
- 7:37Speaker 5: all lit up. It's beautiful.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I've seen it. Really nice. Well, Vincent, great call.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Hey, when we come back, one of
- 7:44Speaker 1: the best pollsters around, Matt Towery, he's got a great
- 7:48Speaker 1: new book out. So we'll get some insight into the
- 7:51Speaker 1: upcoming election. And also, this is a fascinating book about
- 7:55Speaker 1: the mirages created by liberal media, liberal colleges. It's fascinating stuff.
- 8:01Speaker 1: We'll get to that next on 710WOR.
