- 3:17Speaker 1: Why isn't the parent, Why isn't the dad watching the
- 3:19Speaker 1: little kid? On the first one, he's rocking the grill. Wait,
- 3:21Speaker 1: these are good dads, These are the good dads.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Right here.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You're out here mowing the yard with your little with
- 3:26Speaker 1: your little cub sunshining. You're out in the backyard. You

- 4:14Speaker 5: We're doing great, doing great, House Seeming Team six going,
- 4:16Speaker 5: We're doing just fine.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah, So Shepp was telling me right before this episode started,
- 4:21Speaker 1: his old man he's now fully bought in.
- 4:24Speaker 2: He's he listened to a couple. He's went all the
- 4:26Speaker 2: way back.
- 4:27Speaker 1: He's listened to all the episodes now and his old
- 4:30Speaker 1: man's bought all the way in.
- 4:31Speaker 3: He's mom o GP mom.
- 4:34Speaker 5: My mom listens on the day we launched. She'll go
- 4:37Speaker 5: work out at like five, like six am.
- 4:40Speaker 1: She loves to hear a boy on the mic that
- 4:41Speaker 1: that's what that is. That's a that's a that's a
- 4:43Speaker 1: very proud mom. That's a that's a stoked mom. Right,
- 4:46Speaker 1: she does I come home.
- 4:47Speaker 5: She makes sometimes some comments that some of the jokes that.
- 4:51Speaker 6: She does, it's funny. Yeah, oh jack, you boys, what's
- 4:59Speaker 6: the show jack mom? It's a roller coaster.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And Chef was telling me too, you like, my dad
- 5:06Speaker 1: was like, I went back and listened to an early
- 5:07Speaker 1: one in that situation in New York where you know,
- 5:10Speaker 1: the friends are offering to watch the kid, offer to
- 5:12Speaker 1: watch the kids, and you kind of took them back.
- 5:14Speaker 1: He's like I'm taking that ten times out of ten.
- 5:17Speaker 1: He's that we're selfless most of the time, like we do.
- 5:19Speaker 1: We do our work most of the time. But you
- 5:21Speaker 1: get that opportunity, you gotta let the you gotta let
- 5:24Speaker 1: the kids rock with your friends. And I don't think
- 5:28Speaker 1: that's wrong at all. Yeah, we have a question for
- 5:30Speaker 1: the audience. Actually, is it out of line? Oh, ask
- 5:35Speaker 1: your friends if they have kids just like you do
- 5:40Speaker 1: or more kids. Is it a big no note to
- 5:42Speaker 1: ask those friends to watch your kids. That's kind of
- 5:46Speaker 1: a question that we repose. You know, there's some situations
- 5:50Speaker 1: going on behind the scenes. I won't fully you know,
- 5:53Speaker 1: if Shirm feels comfortable bringing it.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Up, I'll bring it up.
- 5:57Speaker 2: So mission this weekend.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I'm on a mission.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Sweet.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a bet six mission right here, A big one,
- 6:02Speaker 1: A big one one for you to knock out of
- 6:04Speaker 1: the park truly and go down and give give the
- 6:08Speaker 1: audience some context.
- 6:08Speaker 2: We mentioned it a couple of weeks ago.
- 6:10Speaker 3: True. Okay, So Jill is on a bachelorette party in
- 6:14Speaker 3: Miami currently we are recording on Friday right now.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Oh, she get rowdy, mama, letting the hair down. You
- 6:23Speaker 1: tell her, hey, you let your hair down. Your boys
- 6:25Speaker 1: got you let your hair down.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Get get some mc lobes and listen to that by
- 6:30Speaker 3: Bunnie on the Beach.
- 6:32Speaker 1: She's in Bad Bonnie on the Beach Swift album. That's
- 6:36Speaker 1: probably not beach mode, however, that is out.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I could get down with some Tea Swift.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I can get down some with some Tea Swift.
- 6:43Speaker 3: But she she's having a good time. Well, actually she's
- 6:46Speaker 3: been crying a lot. I've been getting a lot of
- 6:47Speaker 3: texts this morning that she's crying a lot and she
- 6:50Speaker 3: just misses her girl.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Okay, so this isn't. This isn't. I'm a little I've
- 6:55Speaker 2: had a few, a few beverages.
- 6:57Speaker 1: In no get emotional. This is like, I'm separation anxiety.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Unless you yeah, unless she's listening to a Bad Bonnie
- 7:04Speaker 3: at the airport and getting some brew Whall's at the airport,
- 7:07Speaker 3: she's sober. Little separation anxiety, dude, I gotta show you
- 7:11Speaker 3: a picture now that I'm bringing this up. I'm sending
- 7:14Speaker 3: this to you immediately. Chef uh full on schedule layout
- 7:20Speaker 3: on the kitchen Island for me as if I was
- 7:24Speaker 3: three years old. And it doesn't offend, It doesn't offend me.
- 7:29Speaker 3: It does not offend me.
- 7:30Speaker 2: You better than me.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Oh had some fun with it. It took it out
- 7:34Speaker 1: and ripped it up. Don't ever disrespect me again. I
- 7:37Speaker 1: don't want to hear from you unless we do our
- 7:39Speaker 1: FaceTime check ins. And when you gotta see you gotta
- 7:42Speaker 1: see Scarscar and you gotta see the girls, we'll get
- 7:45Speaker 1: on FaceTime. But this is hey, this is I'm telling you,
- 7:48Speaker 1: this is PT six game right here. When you have
- 7:50Speaker 1: the opportunity to watch the kid, kid or kids solo,
- 7:53Speaker 1: you make sure your wife feels as comfortable as possible.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Leaving the nest.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Leaving the nest, I saw the note you left for
- 8:01Speaker 3: your parents. I think, but your parents are coming on
- 8:04Speaker 3: to come watch the kid. I'm watching the kids. Yeah, yeah, oh,
- 8:07Speaker 3: I was just a little confused.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I think you forgot I'm not getting any sitters outside
- 8:11Speaker 1: of when we're doing the for the Dad's podcast.
- 8:13Speaker 2: But that's it. I'm running this ship. What is this?
- 8:17Speaker 1: I saw that I got my own notes. You just
- 8:19Speaker 1: lift up like a little sticky note.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Got my own notes, and it just says I got it.
- 8:26Speaker 5: I gotta give context here she has I mean, this
- 8:29Speaker 5: is like will It's instructions for building a chair. Yes,
- 8:34Speaker 5: she has, it's what instructions it will she? Uh get
- 8:38Speaker 5: good on, Jill, I mean, this is this give this
- 8:40Speaker 5: is the ultimate. You have no excuse, oh if it
- 8:44Speaker 5: goes wrong.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Zero excuse. She she could run a small country, my
- 8:48Speaker 3: wife like truly. She has outfits in zip hoc baggies
- 8:54Speaker 3: labeled for each day Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Like.
- 9:00Speaker 5: She has phone numbers written now, phone health info. She
- 9:04Speaker 5: has at everything, she has taught nighttime routine. She has
- 9:08Speaker 5: a two a time schedule.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Two a time schedule, has eight emergency contact listenings. Now
- 9:13Speaker 3: I will I'll add some bonus context to it. She
- 9:16Speaker 3: has been meaning to do that for like any babysitter,
- 9:19Speaker 3: or like any any.
- 9:20Speaker 1: You're right right, so, because I'm enjoying thinking of the
- 9:23Speaker 1: couple's watching right now, and the old man PT. Six
- 9:26Speaker 1: is sitting over there looking at like that's you, what
- 9:30Speaker 1: they talking about? That's you, that's your every day. But
- 9:34Speaker 1: I feel that though so almost like a like a
- 9:36Speaker 1: playbook for if anybody. She she's got the process, the
- 9:40Speaker 1: systems written out for if she needs a delegate at
- 9:42Speaker 1: any moment in time.
- 9:43Speaker 2: This is the this is the formula.
- 9:45Speaker 1: It just so happens that she laid it out or
- 9:47Speaker 1: got it done, like right as she goes on dispatcheorette party,
- 9:50Speaker 1: and it seems like it's for you, but really it's
- 9:53Speaker 1: just this is the general this.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Is the Bible.
- 9:55Speaker 3: This is the Bible. This is the baby Bible writing.
- 9:57Speaker 3: But I will say I like got her roll belly
- 10:00Speaker 3: laughed when I saw it because I I feel like
- 10:03Speaker 3: I'm twelve years old.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And by the way, when I said you handled it
- 10:06Speaker 1: better than me, I would have ripped it up, said
- 10:08Speaker 1: don't ever disrespect me. The minute she walks out the door,
- 10:10Speaker 1: I'm piecing it back together. I'm daping and got a second,
- 10:12Speaker 1: let me see what we got. Oh yeah, I did
- 10:14Speaker 1: forget about that part by the funk that. But one
- 10:17Speaker 1: thing I would do, which I would encourage, this would
- 10:19Speaker 1: be a nice one. It's just like, you know, you
- 10:21Speaker 1: keep scarscar like in her. You know, I'll like if
- 10:23Speaker 1: Charles's gone and it's me and say it's Scottie. Ru's
- 10:27Speaker 1: different roos three years. I'll get her dress, I'll get
- 10:29Speaker 1: her going for Scotty. I'll leave in the PJS all
- 10:32Speaker 1: day long. But since she has the outfits in a
- 10:35Speaker 1: ziplock bag. It's almost like you have you have scarscar
- 10:38Speaker 1: just in her pjs and you just take a photo
- 10:40Speaker 1: with her on zip block, like got her got her
- 10:41Speaker 1: outfits for Sunday. Look, yeah, just like holding the ziplock bag.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I ran into that this morning because she had not
- 10:49Speaker 3: a full blowout, but she leaked out of one of
- 10:52Speaker 3: her legs and I was like, well, I don't want
- 10:56Speaker 3: to dig into the ziploc like, I'll just get a
- 10:59Speaker 3: one sie. So I threw a.
- 11:01Speaker 7: Don't.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I don't even really know why, but I was like, yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 3: why dig into the ziplock What if I just didn't
- 11:07Speaker 3: use the zip blocks at all? Just kind of showed her.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I mean, hey, listen, would the sticky not say I
- 11:13Speaker 2: got it? You got this? I got it? So Jill's
- 11:16Speaker 2: gone for the weekend.
- 11:17Speaker 3: She's gone for the weekend. I am being left at
- 11:21Speaker 3: home with Scarlett all weekend. This this is truly my
- 11:25Speaker 3: dad loss, my the trenches, and my cracker coal one
- 11:29Speaker 3: this week you already have in this story. And by
- 11:34Speaker 3: the way, we're filming on this is It's Friday Friday,
- 11:38Speaker 3: So this is day one for you, Yes, Day one, Well,
- 11:41Speaker 3: you got a three day weekend. I will say this
- 11:43Speaker 3: is day one, but the report card came out two
- 11:46Speaker 3: weeks ago, when like the idea of this, of Sherman
- 11:51Speaker 3: being here because I'm and Jill will take no offense
- 11:56Speaker 3: of this. Her mom coming in town, got brought up
- 11:59Speaker 3: a couple times a night, nurse got brought up a
- 12:02Speaker 3: couple of times.
- 12:02Speaker 1: And give game, just the BT sixers, like this isn't
- 12:05Speaker 1: this isn't uncommon. That's uncommon the way like the generations
- 12:10Speaker 1: and everything has went just for the for the mail, Yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 1: for the male brain, for the dad brain, all of it. Yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 1: this isn't uncommon. So these are opportunities, gentlemen, for you
- 12:22Speaker 1: to This is why it's such a big opportunity to
- 12:24Speaker 1: knock it out of the park, to add points points
- 12:28Speaker 1: to the scoreboard, not to hold over their head, but
- 12:30Speaker 1: just to let them know, Hey, you want to go
- 12:32Speaker 1: on that. I can operate just as well as you can,
- 12:35Speaker 1: just as well the same as well.
- 12:39Speaker 3: And guess why I do it as well because you
- 12:41Speaker 3: leave me zip hoc bags. Man, you leave me instructions. Man,
- 12:44Speaker 3: you're the best.
- 12:45Speaker 2: So she's bringing this stuff up.
- 12:46Speaker 1: You know, I'm going out of town for two days,
- 12:49Speaker 1: like Should I get my parents in town?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Should we get some baby? Can you handle? How old
- 12:56Speaker 2: is Scarlet? Three months?
- 12:58Speaker 1: Can you handle a three month old by yourself for
- 13:02Speaker 1: seventy two hours?
- 13:03Speaker 3: Are you sure? Because I have to shake you awake
- 13:06Speaker 3: at night when she's crying.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you do a good job.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Once I get you awake, you do get out of
- 13:11Speaker 3: bed and you go help her. But I have to
- 13:13Speaker 3: shake you awake. How are you gonna wake up?
- 13:16Speaker 2: Baby?
- 13:16Speaker 3: It's fine because my brain's gonna know, Oh, Jill's not here,
- 13:18Speaker 3: and I'll be hearing the crying. Blah blah blah. Well,
- 13:21Speaker 3: I don't know. I just don't think you can wake up.
- 13:23Speaker 3: So I'm being on this podcast. I was like, I
- 13:27Speaker 3: can't be a co host on this podcast and cop
- 13:32Speaker 3: out and not take this head on and look Reilly
- 13:35Speaker 3: seeing in the eyes and be like, hey, I'm crushing
- 13:37Speaker 3: it as a dad. So I'm when she's bringing up
- 13:40Speaker 3: those things like, oh, I don't think you can wake up,
- 13:41Speaker 3: blah blah. It's fine.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I'll get an air mattress, I'll sleep in the nursery.
- 13:45Speaker 1: There's gotta be an internal fire brewing. Oh yeah, I
- 13:49Speaker 1: was kind of getting this doubt. Yeah, I was like, Oh,
- 13:52Speaker 1: can't I handle this.
- 13:53Speaker 3: I'll sleep on the ground on the air mattress. Then
- 13:56Speaker 3: I'll wake up. There ain't no way I ain't waking up.
- 14:01Speaker 3: I'll need a monitor. I'm on the front lines. I'll
- 14:04Speaker 3: be there. That's what I'm doing.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I'm fired up for you.
- 14:07Speaker 3: It's gonna be good, dude, I'm fired up for you.
- 14:10Speaker 3: This morning was incredible. It like, actually was incredible. It
- 14:15Speaker 3: was sick.
- 14:16Speaker 2: No, we are filming it is. It's eleven right now.
- 14:19Speaker 3: It's eleven right now.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Jill's out, she's in Miami.
- 14:22Speaker 3: She go Auntie Hillary aka Hillary Cox is watching Scarlet.
- 14:29Speaker 3: That's my boy, Brian I've told you about.
- 14:32Speaker 2: That's his wife.
- 14:33Speaker 3: They were sweet enough. She came over. She's watching Scarlett
- 14:37Speaker 3: and she's crushing it. As soon as she walked in,
- 14:39Speaker 3: she was like, Hey, I think I'm gonna listen to
- 14:41Speaker 3: some Taylor's. Truly, I'm gonna listen to some Taylor Swift
- 14:44Speaker 3: with her introduce her to the new album. I was like,
- 14:46Speaker 3: that sounds like a game plan. Yeah, Scarlett just got
- 14:50Speaker 3: brand new sparkly pink shoes, so she's gonna be showing
- 14:53Speaker 3: those off to Aunti Hillary. Yeah, she napped like a
- 14:58Speaker 3: champ this morning, and she's has not been napping well.
- 15:01Speaker 3: The Merlin, dude, I didn't even put the Merlin down
- 15:04Speaker 3: on my sheet. Do you know what the merlin is?
- 15:10Speaker 3: The quarterback for Ohiose State last year, what's his name?
- 15:14Speaker 3: Will Howard? His family invented this sleepsack thing that's called
- 15:21Speaker 3: a Merlin and it basically just turns your baby into
- 15:23Speaker 3: the Michelin man, the tire logo guy, and they sleep
- 15:28Speaker 3: flat on their back with their arms out wide and
- 15:30Speaker 3: their legs out straight, and they love it. It's crazy, dude.
- 15:36Speaker 3: I sent it to the PT six social thing. I
- 15:38Speaker 3: was like, we need to make a quote graphic that
- 15:40Speaker 3: Will Howard was the very first Merlin baby. Steelers future
- 15:43Speaker 3: Hall of Fame quarterback Will Howard's family.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yes, wishing well a healthy, healthy recovery with the injuries
- 15:50Speaker 1: got going on right now.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah, but a survival kit. Survival kit the Merlin.
- 15:55Speaker 3: But yeah, dude, I mean Scarlett was like crushing the
- 15:58Speaker 3: nap this morning. She's smiling a whole lot, and she's
- 16:00Speaker 3: starting to like, instead of cooing, she's actually like you
- 16:03Speaker 3: can tell she wants to talk so bad, and so
- 16:07Speaker 3: whenever I'm like coming over the crib or like putting
- 16:09Speaker 3: her in her playpen. It's like, I know, mom, ya
- 16:12Speaker 3: ya ya, And I'm like, oh my gosh, you said
- 16:15Speaker 3: I love you Dad.
- 16:16Speaker 8: I know you did.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I know you're trying to say it, but you have
- 16:19Speaker 3: a sitter until twelve thirty twelve.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Got to keep it. You got to keep this one
- 16:25Speaker 2: under an hour.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Literally have to keep it under an hour, okay, or
- 16:28Speaker 3: Jill will skin me alive.
- 16:30Speaker 1: But there was also so if we go all the
- 16:32Speaker 1: way back to what started all of this conversation, it was.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Easy over the line to have your friend.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Who has the same amount of kids or more kids
- 16:40Speaker 1: watch your kid, in this case scarscar three month old
- 16:44Speaker 1: m you had a situation or Professor Clump.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Professor Clump and his wife Lindsay God.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Bless her, who made some banana bread and wrote a
- 16:55Speaker 3: really sweet note to Jill for her birthday. So thank you, Lindsay.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Shout out. It was off that they could watch Scarlett
- 17:02Speaker 3: here at the shop. They have two boys, one of
- 17:05Speaker 3: which is four and some change, and another one's like two
- 17:09Speaker 3: and some change. Shout out JJ, shout out JJ, shout
- 17:11Speaker 3: out Brady. But they're I mean, they're a handful in themselves,
- 17:16Speaker 3: like they got their own stuff going on.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And because we were trying to figure out, okay, we
- 17:20Speaker 1: can we can rip this pod on Friday. Jill's out
- 17:23Speaker 1: of town. How can we figure out how can we
- 17:25Speaker 1: help out? The boys shirm yes, so we can rip
- 17:27Speaker 1: this pod.
- 17:28Speaker 3: And Jill was like, go the avenue of Hillary first
- 17:32Speaker 3: to see if she has availability before we reach out
- 17:35Speaker 3: to Jeremy and his wife because they already got their
- 17:38Speaker 3: kid no kids, Hillary registered nurse, very close friend of
- 17:43Speaker 3: ours or newfound friends three work that we are close with,
- 17:49Speaker 3: but newer friends and they have two kids. It was like, yep,
- 17:53Speaker 3: that's for sure the pecking order. Yeah, go this avenue first.
- 17:56Speaker 3: We're not going that avenue first. And so I felt bad.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I kind of said it to Jeremy like they weren't
- 18:02Speaker 3: an option. I would have felt bad if we came
- 18:04Speaker 3: to them first and then like hey, Yoki watch our
- 18:08Speaker 3: kids blah blah blah.
- 18:09Speaker 1: But so what gets set Like there's also a thought too,
- 18:13Speaker 1: like it's a big no no to ask to ask
- 18:16Speaker 1: somebody that have that have more kids to watch your
- 18:19Speaker 1: kids watch, which I'm calling bs. That's that's new York
- 18:22Speaker 1: all over again. If you get offered and they're offering it,
- 18:27Speaker 1: like let's say you're not seeking them out. If they're
- 18:29Speaker 1: offering it, I think that is an option that's very
- 18:32Speaker 1: much on the table. Okay, I would sit here and
- 18:34Speaker 1: say I don't care what my wife says, but she obviously,
- 18:37Speaker 1: like we all know how New York went, Like, my
- 18:38Speaker 1: wife won that battle. We had to take kids home
- 18:40Speaker 1: at like two in the morning, and you apologize, You
- 18:44Speaker 1: called her and apologized. Yeah, I apologize because I was
- 18:47Speaker 1: saying as I was saying some very hurtful things that
- 18:49Speaker 1: night when I was sideways, remember when I was sideways.
- 18:52Speaker 2: But I do like it's like if that is one thing,
- 18:55Speaker 2: it's like no, like.
- 18:56Speaker 1: If they're offering that offer is a is a justified option,
- 19:02Speaker 1: Like they're giving you that opportunity, and to me, that's
- 19:04Speaker 1: an opportunity that if it is the only opportunity, you
- 19:07Speaker 1: take the opportunity.
- 19:09Speaker 3: What we need to I need to be better at that.
- 19:12Speaker 3: You don't feel bad and you don't feel bad. I
- 19:15Speaker 3: need to get better at that, and Jill needs to
- 19:17Speaker 3: get better like us together, we need to not have guilt.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Like that's a very serious, like real take is like,
- 19:26Speaker 3: we do not need to have guilt for somebody to
- 19:28Speaker 3: watch our kids as much guilt.
- 19:29Speaker 1: As well, I think we put on ourselves because I
- 19:31Speaker 1: think there's gonna be guilt no matter what. Yeah, there's
- 19:33Speaker 1: gonna be like damn you kind of like just letting
- 19:35Speaker 1: out the little kiddos.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Okay, you better be on your best folking gear, you understand, Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 2: what the.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Fuck are gonna be? When Hillary came over, she legitimately
- 19:44Speaker 3: was so excited, and I was like, in a real
- 19:47Speaker 3: frantic not super frankid, but I was kind of moving around,
- 19:51Speaker 3: Do you have snacks, you need water, do you need anything?
- 19:54Speaker 3: Blah blah blah, trying to make sure everything was perfect
- 19:56Speaker 3: for her. And she was like, I mean, you just
- 19:58Speaker 3: gave me a Roku remote and the play pin's right here,
- 20:01Speaker 3: and here's a burp cloth. I'm good, Like go go
- 20:04Speaker 3: yeah stuff.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Like hey, Scar, are you sure you're good? You
- 20:08Speaker 1: can just all you gotta dude, really just look at
- 20:10Speaker 1: her for the next couple of.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Hours for real.
- 20:12Speaker 1: She makes noise if she needs a burp or need
- 20:14Speaker 1: a feed feet her at this time, but then that
- 20:16Speaker 1: Saturday and you just look at her.
- 20:18Speaker 3: You can look at her. You put her in the
- 20:19Speaker 3: plate thing, you can do the two she's loving the
- 20:23Speaker 3: two feet right now where you're just tuning her, you're
- 20:26Speaker 3: flipping her. Yeah, it's chef. I'm sorry you were you
- 20:28Speaker 3: were gonna say something.
- 20:29Speaker 8: Oh, no, you're good.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I was just saying shiming in.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Maybe it's like a good karma thing, like what goes
- 20:36Speaker 5: around comes around, So you need to pay it forward
- 20:39Speaker 5: if if you take that, if you're offered, and maybe
- 20:42Speaker 5: it's one of those things where it's kind of with
- 20:44Speaker 5: the knowledge of like hey, we owe you, we owe
- 20:46Speaker 5: you one, whatever that may be.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you do that, you definitely you're in the camp. Hey,
- 20:51Speaker 1: we we'll get you on the back end. All I'm
- 20:54Speaker 1: saying is if I am telling you, hey, I'll watch
- 20:56Speaker 1: scar scar and even though I got two kiddos and
- 20:59Speaker 1: let's say I'm alone and I'm just like, hey, i'll
- 21:01Speaker 1: watch I'll watch Scarlett for you, and you'd be feeling bad.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I back, bro, she's three months old. Like, I'll be
- 21:06Speaker 1: able to handle it, and you trusted me to do it.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I'm saying, if I am offering you, like there should
- 21:11Speaker 1: be zero guilt, Like if I'm in the man, I
- 21:13Speaker 1: kind of don't want to watch her, then I wouldn't
- 21:15Speaker 1: you know that it was fair shooting offer at all.
- 21:17Speaker 1: But if I'm offering you, I'm thinking, bro, like your
- 21:20Speaker 1: boy can handle this. You either trust me or you don't.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I think you should maybe you don't. Would you trust me?
- 21:26Speaker 3: A hundred d? And hey that was when I got
- 21:29Speaker 3: a pretty nice compliment this morning from Hillary. She was
- 21:33Speaker 3: like I just want be cause I was like running
- 21:35Speaker 3: through all this stuff with her and she was like, Hey,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I just want to let you know, working in a hospital,
- 21:39Speaker 3: I'm used to that to being like yeah, I don't
- 21:41Speaker 3: know their allergies, like go talk to mom, Yeah, go
- 21:45Speaker 3: talk to mom.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 21:47Speaker 8: So she was like.
- 21:48Speaker 3: You're you're on it, like you everything seems great. Like
- 21:52Speaker 3: I was almost like performative to her when she like
- 21:54Speaker 3: showed up in a way of like and this is
- 21:56Speaker 3: right here, and this is right here.
- 21:58Speaker 2: It's just let you know, just hand on the shoulder. Okay.
- 22:01Speaker 3: So like first off, Sherman, we're in your house. Yeah, yeah,
- 22:04Speaker 3: you can do whatever the hell you want.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I'm a nurse.
- 22:06Speaker 3: I'm a nurse. I'm just gonna watch your kid, like
- 22:09Speaker 3: you don't have to prem anything. I'm sitting there like okay,
- 22:12Speaker 3: but everything's like it's all good. If you need it,
- 22:14Speaker 3: it's it's your here. But yeah, dude, huge weight off
- 22:19Speaker 3: my chest. When I walked out the front.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Door was good.
- 22:21Speaker 3: I was like, oh dude, that felt good.
- 22:24Speaker 2: But got to be home soon.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Got to be home.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Got to keep this one under an hour.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Got to keep it under an hour.
- 22:28Speaker 2: You go ahead.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Oh.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I was just gonna say, and gotta kick ass, dude,
- 22:32Speaker 3: And I'm off to the hottest start ever. Knock on
- 22:34Speaker 3: wood Yeah, knock on wood by Sorry, off hot.
- 22:39Speaker 2: You're gonna crush it. Thank you, You're gonna crush it.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Because when those conversations or questions was coming up, it's like, hey,
- 22:45Speaker 1: real opportunity here.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Of course I would trust you with Scarlett. I appreciate that.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Of course I would. I would rip bro. And that
- 22:51Speaker 3: was to the point that I was trying to make
- 22:53Speaker 3: earlier where Hillary paid that compliment was like most dads
- 22:56Speaker 3: you know don't even know what they're allergic to or
- 22:58Speaker 3: their social Security number. I'm like, I think of you
- 23:02Speaker 3: as a dad that's on it.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I don't know their social Security numbers, but you've been
- 23:06Speaker 1: but I'm on it, beyond it. So I watched Time
- 23:10Speaker 1: Concern I be on You've seen a blowout or too. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 1: you got this easy money. Ru would crush it too.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Because because some of those you see, you know, your
- 23:20Speaker 3: boy's like holding your kid and it starts crying even
- 23:22Speaker 3: a little bit, and it's like almost an instant reaction
- 23:25Speaker 3: of yo yo yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Your anxiety will really build whenever, like say you and
- 23:31Speaker 1: Jill do a date night, or you're like letting the
- 23:34Speaker 1: babysitter do whatever with Scarlet. She's a little older to
- 23:36Speaker 1: where she's aware or has they'll have their own separation anxiety,
- 23:40Speaker 1: and it's kind of crippling.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Bro.
- 23:41Speaker 1: You kind of just feel bad leaving the house. First
- 23:43Speaker 1: time Charle and I left the house to go on
- 23:44Speaker 1: a date, and Rue was like aware that we were leaving,
- 23:47Speaker 1: and she was starting she was getting old, she was
- 23:49Speaker 1: getting at that age to where you know, she's like
- 23:52Speaker 1: reaching or crying and doesn't seem like they're gonna have
- 23:54Speaker 1: fun with the babysitter, and you kind of just feel
- 23:56Speaker 1: like you're leaving them there to get tortured. You're driving
- 23:59Speaker 1: away from the driveway just thinking in their mind, they're
- 24:02Speaker 1: probably they probably got like an animal brain they probably
- 24:05Speaker 1: think we don't We're not coming back like this is there.
- 24:07Speaker 1: It's the saddest thing in the world. You kind of
- 24:08Speaker 1: just don't know what you and your wife sitting there
- 24:10Speaker 1: and all you're doing is talking about the kid. To
- 24:12Speaker 1: get to dinner, and you have to like tell yourself like, hey,
- 24:14Speaker 1: we have to enjoy this meal. Yes, then you eat
- 24:16Speaker 1: kind of faster. Are we gonna get dessert? Oh wait,
- 24:19Speaker 1: we got to get home. We'll skip dessert. And you're
- 24:20Speaker 1: kind of just racing home. You just feel so bad
- 24:23Speaker 1: leaving them. That'll come to dude, that's guy that will hit.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and it Thankfully I didn't feed Scarlett. I gave
- 24:31Speaker 3: Hillary the bottle and I was like, I think this
- 24:34Speaker 3: will help in the long run if you actually kick
- 24:37Speaker 3: off this wild babysit two hour sash with like a
- 24:41Speaker 3: feeding with.
- 24:41Speaker 1: A dub with the dub quick game quarterbacks, a little
- 24:46Speaker 1: nervous Yeah, Like, let's just get a quick one out there,
- 24:48Speaker 1: quick out, quick slant, something to the flats, maybe a screen.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Maybe let's just hand the ball off. Here's the ball,
- 24:53Speaker 1: it's a bottle.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Maybe you know block block bark, Oh yeahart you off
- 24:58Speaker 3: with a quick win, quick when and I was like,
- 25:01Speaker 3: Scarlett's going to be like, Oh that's formula lady that
- 25:05Speaker 3: fed me and now she's playing me. Te Swift. Hillary
- 25:08Speaker 3: kind of ribs, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, let's not
- 25:12Speaker 3: We got a lot of stuff to covert. We have
- 25:14Speaker 3: a lot of comments, and I do I was writing
- 25:17Speaker 3: down a lot of I was writing down a lot
- 25:20Speaker 3: of comments and more so just names to shout out
- 25:22Speaker 3: because last week's episode was obviously very emotional. At one
- 25:28Speaker 3: point when I was talking about when Garrett shot over
- 25:31Speaker 3: an awesome comment talking about how you listened to the voicemail,
- 25:34Speaker 3: it really struck your boy as empathizing with somebody who
- 25:38Speaker 3: lost their parent, understanding that their parent won't really get
- 25:41Speaker 3: to know your kid. It's just something my mom passing
- 25:45Speaker 3: away before was born, when Charli, my wife was pregnant,
- 25:49Speaker 3: really hit your boy hard. Ye kind of got off
- 25:51Speaker 3: the rails for a moment.
- 25:52Speaker 1: It was an obvious emotional state that I needed to
- 25:55Speaker 1: live in lean into. I do appreciate you guys for
- 25:58Speaker 1: sitting with your boy during that during that moment, because
- 26:01Speaker 1: it was very awkward and different for me in that moment.
- 26:06Speaker 1: But all of the comments, all of the messages, everybody
- 26:09Speaker 1: that's been engaging, everybody that's been talking about how they
- 26:13Speaker 1: lost somebody close to them, they lost a parent, or
- 26:17Speaker 1: just putting their arm around me. In the comments section,
- 26:21Speaker 1: I shout out a lot of names. I'm gonna just
- 26:23Speaker 1: read a list because there were so many. I'm doing
- 26:26Speaker 1: my best to shout out everybody. Sumner, Darlington, Ian Natch,

- 28:27Speaker 1: starting to tell him. I was honestly starting to get
- 28:29Speaker 1: emotional again as I'm trying to tell him last week.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Last week we'll go down as the most emotional.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Week that Willie c had reading comments, seeing the clip
- 28:38Speaker 1: that you guys made and kind of like seeing it
- 28:40Speaker 1: again and reliving it. But he calls me like ten
- 28:43Speaker 1: minutes later on FaceTime and he's just in the middle
- 28:45Speaker 1: of crying and it was.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Kind of like a.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Kind of like I wasn't in the state of crying anymore.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Tried popping a joke to make it light and everybody
- 28:56Speaker 1: has just been super cool and it's cool to see
- 28:58Speaker 1: everybody in the community rally around just each other, share
- 29:01Speaker 1: their stories, be vulnerable with us.
- 29:03Speaker 2: So thank you guys.
- 29:04Speaker 1: We do have comments here that we're gonna rip some
- 29:06Speaker 1: more fun comments this week. We have we can't just

- 30:52Speaker 3: It's perfect for those that put in the word then
- 30:57Speaker 3: blue collar types example for the version that up in

- 31:10Speaker 3: Thank you for can I can I interject one quick quote?
- 31:14Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:15Speaker 3: I want to thank you for sharing what you did.
- 31:18Speaker 3: And I thought it was really cool and just how
- 31:21Speaker 3: I personally affected me. Called my mom instantly after the podcast.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Dude cried with my mom and it was fucking sick.
- 31:28Speaker 3: And what you did was was incredible, your legend.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I don't want to add I truly, it's like if
- 31:34Speaker 1: I add talking about again, it'll feel you know what
- 31:37Speaker 1: I mean it feel Just say the marri and stuff
- 31:40Speaker 1: the mom stuff, just the all of it.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Bro feel feel Willy C has never done this in
- 31:47Speaker 3: the history of Busting. After that episode, you took an
- 31:51Speaker 3: hour nap in the shop.
- 31:54Speaker 2: An emotional nap, and I do.
- 31:56Speaker 1: When I woke up, I appreciated that the doors were shut,
- 31:58Speaker 1: because they weren't at first. I kind of was sitting
- 32:00Speaker 1: there and I was like, I'm gonna watch forget what
- 32:03Speaker 1: it was either like it's Friday. It's on a Friday,
- 32:06Speaker 1: so it's either like make some posts or like watch
- 32:08Speaker 1: some film on the NFL, like watch the All twenty two,
- 32:11Speaker 1: like dive into some of that stuff.
- 32:12Speaker 2: And I kind of just got to where I was.
- 32:14Speaker 1: I was starting to be a sleepy boy, yeah, and
- 32:18Speaker 1: so I just kind of put the hat over the
- 32:19Speaker 1: face and the lazy boy that we got, and I
- 32:23Speaker 1: was just hopeful my hopefully guys don't come in and
- 32:25Speaker 1: like mess with me or do a joke or come
- 32:27Speaker 1: up and take a photo and post it.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Like I was like, I'm just gonna get a quick now,
- 32:31Speaker 2: I'm gonna get a nap.
- 32:32Speaker 9: Hopefully, Derek and I Derek you saying, I was just
- 32:34Speaker 9: gonna say it was kind of like when Dad falls asleep.
- 32:36Speaker 9: And you're like, oh, we should change your hand on.
- 32:38Speaker 9: My Mom's like, don't mess with that. Like people were
- 32:40Speaker 9: like trying to go and we're like, don't go in
- 32:42Speaker 9: there yet. Like people are like, hey, is Will in there?
- 32:43Speaker 9: We're like, don't.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Don't open the door, Like, don't open the door the
- 32:47Speaker 3: boy a second.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Yeah, And it was truly an hour nap. Like I
- 32:52Speaker 1: woke up the door. You guys had shut the doors.
- 32:55Speaker 1: It was me was who is one of the last
- 32:57Speaker 1: ones in here? Maybe clump, yeah, because most most everybody
- 33:01Speaker 1: was gone.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Ryan was here.
- 33:03Speaker 2: I was kind of bum that I didn't get said
- 33:04Speaker 2: by to you guys. I did wake up.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I was say, man, everybody, it was a much it
- 33:10Speaker 1: was a much needed nap. It was the week of
- 33:13Speaker 1: travel and everything else. And then that that emotion was
- 33:16Speaker 1: because we shaped out. I didn't watch that moment on YouTube.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I know when we got done, I was kind of
- 33:22Speaker 1: up in the air about cutting a lot of stuff
- 33:24Speaker 1: out because I was just I was feeling very awkward
- 33:27Speaker 1: and I hate the way my voice cracks and doing
- 33:30Speaker 1: no pod and then I was just kind of like, hey,
- 33:31Speaker 1: you guys, listen to it.
- 33:33Speaker 2: I trust you guys.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Whatever you want to cut out if you think it's necessary,
- 33:37Speaker 1: if you feel like it'll be people you know connect
- 33:40Speaker 1: with it and it'll be helpful. You guys do your
- 33:43Speaker 1: thing with it. Yeah, but I know, how did you
- 33:46Speaker 1: did you edit out stuff?
- 33:48Speaker 5: Oh? Yeah, uh yeah, I edited a decent bit, but
- 33:51Speaker 5: nothing like dialogue wise. I really think that there's maybe
- 33:55Speaker 5: like three or four words that cut, and that was
- 33:56Speaker 5: kind of like what you guys don't see is like
- 34:00Speaker 5: producer talk, where will I go like you might want
- 34:02Speaker 5: to cut this or something like. That's all that was,
- 34:04Speaker 5: But pretty much everything is said. I cap because I
- 34:06Speaker 5: thought it was really important. I thought that there was
- 34:08Speaker 5: like a lot that resonates with the people who watch this,
- 34:13Speaker 5: and I think it's important that they, you know.
- 34:16Speaker 8: See that. And I did speak from my side. I
- 34:18Speaker 8: don't think it was awkward at all.
- 34:20Speaker 5: I think you're having a moment that's universal and I'll,
- 34:23Speaker 5: you know, eventually pretty much everyone will understand.
- 34:27Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, for sure some one of those where
- 34:30Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm I'm driving afterwards or thinking about it afterwards,
- 34:33Speaker 1: and usually like when a moment like that's happening, not
- 34:36Speaker 1: say like I'm usually alone and I want to be
- 34:38Speaker 1: alone because I think like, Okay, I'm usually alone when
- 34:41Speaker 1: that happens, and it's like, oh, it's always good to
- 34:43Speaker 1: have somebody there with you.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Or whatever the case, like support system around.
- 34:47Speaker 1: But usually, like as as anybody who has like a
- 34:50Speaker 1: tough moment like that, usually you feel much more comfortable
- 34:53Speaker 1: it's happening, whether it's in your car, at home alone,
- 34:55Speaker 1: whatever it is, and for it to be happening in
- 34:58Speaker 1: front of you guys when it's see the moment where
- 35:00Speaker 1: I had to kind of just sit this side and
- 35:02Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, this is I gotta basically I
- 35:05Speaker 1: have to have this moment.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I can't like get out of this moment.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:08Speaker 2: And then to look up and see see.
- 35:10Speaker 1: That you guys were, you know, being the way you were,
- 35:13Speaker 1: and thank you for being a good friend both all
- 35:15Speaker 1: you guys, All you guys much appreciate it.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Should we get into some some fun comments.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I'm ready, all right, I'll kick it off Coach Web
- 35:23Speaker 1: on YouTube Coach Web ninety nine to zero three. Best
- 35:26Speaker 1: part of the pod is the tears. Crying is cool
- 35:29Speaker 1: Coach Web. So glad I have a scheduled time to
- 35:32Speaker 1: cry each week. Another one, another fun one. Josh Thompson's
- 35:36Speaker 1: sixty three sixty four bed podcast best podcast I listen
- 35:40Speaker 1: to this year. Will I totally felt that emotion, Josh.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I appreciate the comment. Brother Junior le Bk on YouTube.
- 35:49Speaker 1: I fucking love this podcast. So many lessons in here
- 35:52Speaker 1: for everyone. This might be for the dad's at its core,
- 35:55Speaker 1: but in my opinion it's Ooh, I like this for
- 35:58Speaker 1: the soul.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Thanks for speaking from the hard boys, dude. Thank you, Junior.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Snap Snap Snaps. Lindy Roker fifty five thirty five on YouTube.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Set just wanted to say how much I love this podcast.
- 36:09Speaker 3: My fiance put me on it and I've been hooked
- 36:12Speaker 3: from the beginning. We aren't parents yet, but I can't
- 36:15Speaker 3: tell you how much more excited you guys have made
- 36:17Speaker 3: us to become members of Empty six and PT six
- 36:20Speaker 3: one day. You have given all of us listeners a
- 36:23Speaker 3: refreshing and realistic perspective on parenting. I'm all in for
- 36:29Speaker 3: the rollercoaster of emotions I experienced listening to this show too,
- 36:33Speaker 3: laughing one minute and then crying the next. Real men
- 36:36Speaker 3: in parentheses and women cry and crying is totally cool.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Thank you so much for sharing your lives, your hearts
- 36:44Speaker 3: with us and making this podcast incredible.
- 36:47Speaker 1: I love that comment. It is it's like when you're
- 36:49Speaker 1: sitting there, like what clips do I want to post?
- 36:52Speaker 1: It's like you got the emotional one. There's someone I've
- 36:55Speaker 1: seen in the comments that are alluding to this, like
- 36:58Speaker 1: the speech of the moment last week after you know,
- 37:01Speaker 1: my man got himself out of the trenches. And then
- 37:03Speaker 1: there's like I got the bane mask on you do
- 37:10Speaker 1: you think this bottle is your alle we lially crying
- 37:14Speaker 1: motivational speeches, like all right, how are we going to
- 37:16Speaker 1: approach this week on the internet.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Yes, we have a clip that it took me a
- 37:20Speaker 3: day and a half to edit because it's a funny
- 37:23Speaker 3: part of the podcast. But my eyes look like I
- 37:26Speaker 3: just got pepper spray, so I had to add the
- 37:30Speaker 3: context of us reading sad comments at the beginning of it.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Then transitions to you, yeah, I'm out of underwear. I'm
- 37:37Speaker 3: wearing a European swimsuit. That's the joke. There you go,
- 37:41Speaker 3: and like my eyes just look awfully, But yeah, the
- 37:46Speaker 3: pod is sick. DUDEJ for the Dad's pt Sika that's
- 37:52Speaker 3: his full handle pt sic. Oh please let me read
- 37:55Speaker 3: that again because this is official handle kJ for the dads.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that's somebody too, that's probably on that's probably you know,
- 38:04Speaker 1: we haven't I haven't looked or we haven't circled back
- 38:07Speaker 1: on it. But the Reddit page we talked about, we
- 38:09Speaker 1: need to tea. We need the squad out there to
- 38:10Speaker 1: make that you know, he this is somebody that's kJ
- 38:14Speaker 1: on the front line.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Yeah he's got the light machine gun. He's not carrying
- 38:18Speaker 3: around the submachine gun. Uh, he said, cried ordered for
- 38:22Speaker 3: the dad's merch. Cried again, Love you boys. We are
- 38:26Speaker 3: never hitting on the odds of not crying. Thank you kJ,
- 38:30Speaker 3: Thank you kJ. Another one or yeah, I got Katie
- 38:35Speaker 3: Katie Joson Hans. What a cool name. As a mom
- 38:38Speaker 3: who grew up in a family where we are, we're
- 38:41Speaker 3: proud of our last name. It was sad to think
- 38:44Speaker 3: my kids wouldn't have that as part of theirs. When
- 38:46Speaker 3: I got married, I moved my maiden name to my
- 38:49Speaker 3: middle name, and now I plan to give my kids
- 38:51Speaker 3: that name as their middle name too. That way we
- 38:54Speaker 3: can all say that we are a part of the
- 38:57Speaker 3: Cash family. You heard that right, from Katie Cash to
- 39:01Speaker 3: Katie josen Hans. But my boys and I'm so sorry
- 39:06Speaker 3: if I'm just absolutely is it Josen Hans Usually, however,
- 39:12Speaker 3: you say it's cool man, You'll send Hans.
- 39:14Speaker 1: You can't expect us to just be dialed in on
- 39:16Speaker 1: some of the names Katie joson Hans. But yeah, Katie
- 39:20Speaker 1: Cash and Katie jos and Hans.
- 39:23Speaker 3: But my boys will always be a part of the
- 39:25Speaker 3: Cash clan. And I am so damn proud of that.
- 39:28Speaker 1: As far's that's a subtle parenthack right there. That's a
- 39:31Speaker 1: mom hack. That's a mom yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a
- 39:34Speaker 1: mom hack right there. Want Patino nine five six on YouTube,
- 39:38Speaker 1: longtime listener to the bus and have to say four
- 39:40Speaker 1: of the dads is the best new member of step
- 39:42Speaker 1: Papa Team six of two wonderful kids five and six.
- 39:46Speaker 1: All your stories and advice helped me tremendously. Keep up
- 39:50Speaker 1: the good work. Boys, love step Papa.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Team six, Step Papa Team six.
- 39:55Speaker 1: If you're a good one. And it sounds like he's
- 39:57Speaker 1: setting a good example for step dad's life. So Saiah,
- 40:00Speaker 1: somebody I shout it out with a great comment. This
- 40:04Speaker 1: is Sia's comment. This pod has been a huge help
- 40:07Speaker 1: with the day to day of dad life. A place
- 40:10Speaker 1: to feel like I can just hang out and vent
- 40:12Speaker 1: and say the things that we all have on our minds,
- 40:14Speaker 1: both the deep and not so deep stuff, the things
- 40:17Speaker 1: that we go through.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Shout out you.
- 40:19Speaker 1: And one more from Nuke fifty on YouTube, Willie one
- 40:23Speaker 1: Sholf make me cry on a damn construction site. Just
- 40:25Speaker 1: another reason why I love you guys and love this show.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Wednesdays can't come soon enough. No they can't, Brother and
- 40:30Speaker 1: come on, no they can't.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Gaming Riot one oh one says was up. I'm new
- 40:35Speaker 3: to the channel that I'm expecting my first child. He
- 40:38Speaker 3: is a boy and his name is River. I'm only
- 40:40Speaker 3: twenty one. Shout out River, Shout out River, and I'm
- 40:43Speaker 3: nervous about We have a great I am nervous about it,
- 40:47Speaker 3: but we have a great support system. I'd like to
- 40:51Speaker 3: hear from some of you guys, so sorry, let me
- 40:57Speaker 3: regrape here. I would like to hear some of your
- 41:00Speaker 3: guy's hardest and best moments about being a first time dad.
- 41:05Speaker 3: My name is Austin Witchmand. By the way, I'm in
- 41:09Speaker 3: Papa Team six officially.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Now what Smarcus of emotion for you?
- 41:18Speaker 3: Hardest and best moments of being a first time dad?
- 41:21Speaker 3: I would say hardest moments is getting into the rhythm
- 41:28Speaker 3: of the infancy stage, like the newborn stage. That was
- 41:33Speaker 3: the hardest part for me. It was a definite learning curve.
- 41:38Speaker 3: But once I got it down, I got it down.
- 41:41Speaker 3: It's a lot of people talk about like skiing is
- 41:45Speaker 3: very hard to master, but it's like very easy to
- 41:48Speaker 3: pick up, whereas snowboarding is a little bit harder to
- 41:52Speaker 3: pick up but a lot easier to master. I feel
- 41:55Speaker 3: like bringing up a newborn is like snowboarding. It's kind
- 42:00Speaker 3: of hard to pick up, but once you get the
- 42:02Speaker 3: hang of it, you're you're gonna start ripping.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Good to go.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Yeah dude, I could not imagine being a father at
- 42:08Speaker 1: twenty one.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Yeah dude. Well, I mean, like, well done to him
- 42:12Speaker 3: for being locked in at the age. The thought of
- 42:17Speaker 3: a twenty one year old Sherman being a dad is
- 42:19Speaker 3: a scary one.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I know it's hard for a lot of young parents
- 42:23Speaker 1: that have kids that young. And whether it was planned
- 42:26Speaker 1: or unplanned, I think the most important thing that this
- 42:30Speaker 1: young man can do is accept whatever the reality is
- 42:34Speaker 1: of a situation. And I'm not saying it wasn't planned.
- 42:36Speaker 1: I'm not saying he didn't want this. I'm just almost
- 42:38Speaker 1: assumpting because he's twenty one, But accept.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Whatever reality you have, and dude, it's got.
- 42:46Speaker 1: To be the number one priority in your life on
- 42:48Speaker 1: nailing down fatherhood.
- 42:50Speaker 2: It just does.
- 42:51Speaker 1: It does with all the And there's a there's honestly
- 42:56Speaker 1: a sick lesson that I came across, or sick like
- 42:59Speaker 1: philosophy that I think is going to be like a
- 43:01Speaker 1: new found thing like in my life and world.
- 43:04Speaker 2: There's like a.
- 43:05Speaker 1: North Star Mount rushmore philosophies that I'll hit later in
- 43:09Speaker 1: the episode. But man, write down what your priorities are,
- 43:15Speaker 1: what you want to be as a father. Write it
- 43:18Speaker 1: down and be as clear as possible. Who do I
- 43:20Speaker 1: want to be as a dad, especially as a young man. Bro,
- 43:24Speaker 1: because you're very young, I don't know everything you have
- 43:28Speaker 1: going on in your life. I'm sure you're trying to
- 43:29Speaker 1: balance what you want to do in this world. Well
- 43:33Speaker 1: kind of dad you want to be? And I would
- 43:35Speaker 1: say give yourself some grace and not feeling urgent and
- 43:39Speaker 1: rushed into figuring out whether it's career, school, whatever is
- 43:43Speaker 1: going on in your world. You're going to have a
- 43:45Speaker 1: lot of pressure and a lot of stress being a
- 43:48Speaker 1: young dad being at twenty one.
- 43:50Speaker 2: But bro, get as clear as you possibly can.
- 43:53Speaker 1: If this podcast is something you enjoy listening to and
- 43:56Speaker 1: feel like you get help from, stay glued to it
- 43:59Speaker 1: because you're there's gonna be a lot of trials and
- 44:02Speaker 1: tribulations in your relationship, in in fatherhood, in all of it.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Bro.
- 44:08Speaker 3: But yeah, I thought you had. I thought you had
- 44:10Speaker 3: great advice.
- 44:11Speaker 1: It's like, man, it's gonna feel overwhelming with a newborn,
- 44:14Speaker 1: your first one.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Once you get it down, you're gonna get it down.
- 44:17Speaker 1: But make sure you keep your the main thing, the
- 44:19Speaker 1: main thing when it comes to fatherhood, bro, and prioritize.
- 44:22Speaker 2: It because it's it's it's it's difficult.
- 44:25Speaker 1: And I'm speaking as somebody who is a dad at
- 44:29Speaker 1: RHO is three, So thirty three, thirty four years old, yeah,
- 44:34Speaker 1: thirty two for myself, yeah yeah, so I feel like
- 44:38Speaker 1: it was helpful for me. I guess like later to
- 44:42Speaker 1: become a dad. I truly I couldn't imagine. But Dude,
- 44:44Speaker 1: if I give you advice, it's it's the same kind
- 44:47Speaker 1: of things that we talk about. I say to myself
- 44:50Speaker 1: out all the time, like nobody's coming to save you.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Focus be as clear as you possibly can, and stay
- 44:55Speaker 1: glued to whatever that clearity is, whatever you have written down,
- 44:58Speaker 1: stay glued to it, because that's what you're gonna need
- 45:01Speaker 1: to look at and lean on and constantly think about
- 45:04Speaker 1: the self talk all the time with all the pressure
- 45:06Speaker 1: that you'll have in this world.
- 45:08Speaker 2: But good on you for right in. I appreciate you
- 45:10Speaker 2: right in, bro, Yes, appreciate you right now.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Thank you for writing in. And if it is one
- 45:15Speaker 3: of those situations where you are trying to do school,
- 45:18Speaker 3: balance that. There was a guy that I went to
- 45:21Speaker 3: Baylor with shout out Jimmy, that he had an accident
- 45:26Speaker 3: child or a surprise child his senior year of high
- 45:30Speaker 3: school and he absolutely rinted as a dad and was
- 45:34Speaker 3: a full on college student, like living on campus, co
- 45:38Speaker 3: parenting with mom. They were I mean, it was like
- 45:43Speaker 3: truly something special to get to watch. It's really cool
- 45:48Speaker 3: when like people are kind of thrust into responsibility and
- 45:53Speaker 3: how they can handle that. Yeah, because twenty one year
- 45:56Speaker 3: old Sherman that was shirtless with a Pikachu mask on
- 45:59Speaker 3: during on a reof top was not ready to be
- 46:02Speaker 3: a dad at twenty one. But Jimmy absolutely mastered it,
- 46:06Speaker 3: handled it. And I still follow him on Instagram. I
- 46:09Speaker 3: see pictures of him and his little girl and he rips.
- 46:11Speaker 3: He's an awesome dad.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I have an email here from Zach Zeke Zach Zigzag,
- 46:19Speaker 1: Hey boys, big fans of the podcast. Love listening to
- 46:21Speaker 1: you guys. Every week. We are gonna call this shitty.
- 46:24Speaker 1: We're gonna call this a shitty situation story. I have
- 46:27Speaker 1: two boys aged one and two, two hundred two boys who.
- 46:32Speaker 2: But how you know? Rude soccer?
- 46:35Speaker 3: Each week, bro, please keep on taking more and more
- 46:38Speaker 3: videos of Oh yeah yeah.
- 46:40Speaker 1: I posted on my story like all the boy like
- 46:42Speaker 1: being boys and Rus just locked in foot on the ball.
- 46:46Speaker 2: She's in a ready.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Position staring the coach down.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Bro. The boys, man are just different animals. That's why
- 46:54Speaker 1: I sit there on my girls.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Girls run the world. Yeah, like these boys are idiots.
- 46:59Speaker 2: I don't think it good on. We gotta find the
- 47:00Speaker 2: killer instinct a little bit.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah, but I'm sitting back there like a
- 47:04Speaker 1: proud pappy just and just watching these boys like wrestle,
- 47:07Speaker 1: pick up the ball, like do all the things get
- 47:09Speaker 1: upset at each other?
- 47:10Speaker 2: Like boys? They just feel like a different animal.
- 47:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:13Speaker 1: It was last year on a Saturday I believe Nebraska
- 47:17Speaker 1: was playing Ohio State that week. Both the boys are
- 47:19Speaker 1: already down for their morning nap. Huskers are on. Life
- 47:21Speaker 1: is good, right, Boy?
- 47:22Speaker 2: Was I wrong?
- 47:23Speaker 1: The boys started waking up from their nap right around
- 47:26Speaker 1: the two minute warning.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I told the wife and.
- 47:28Speaker 1: This is this is when we had little hole state
- 47:30Speaker 1: on their heels. The Huskers had a hot state on
- 47:33Speaker 1: their heels. At was it at Columbus?
- 47:36Speaker 3: It was? It was pre Holgerson. Imagine if we get
- 47:40Speaker 3: out that one.
- 47:42Speaker 2: I told the wife I would go get them. At halftime.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I walk into the room and the stench that hit
- 47:47Speaker 1: my nose quite literally knocked my dick in the dirt.
- 47:50Speaker 1: It was the worst smelling shit I have smelt in
- 47:53Speaker 1: my life. I thought that was the end of the
- 47:54Speaker 1: shitty situation. But once I regained consciousness, I look up
- 47:58Speaker 1: and see they both smeared their diarrhea diapers over all
- 48:03Speaker 1: over everything, the wall, the crib, the sheets, anything you
- 48:07Speaker 1: could think of, there was shit on it. They were
- 48:10Speaker 1: also covered in ship head to toe. I was deep
- 48:14Speaker 1: in the trenches. That was just a little story from
- 48:16Speaker 1: a family that has two boys. We're adding a little
- 48:19Speaker 1: girl here at the end of October go Big Red,
- 48:22Speaker 1: Love you guys.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Sent from my iPhone. The little from out.
- 48:28Speaker 3: The front of the bottom was actually.
- 48:32Speaker 1: They got the little tag at the bottom, go Big
- 48:35Speaker 1: Red having a little spook tober girl at the end
- 48:38Speaker 1: at the end of the month.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Congratulations to you. That's a good laugh.
- 48:42Speaker 3: Hey good. Good for him and Iowa fans refraining from
- 48:45Speaker 3: any nasty comments of leave it to some huskers to
- 48:48Speaker 3: rub poopball over them.
- 48:49Speaker 1: Yeah, leaves to let it get out of hand in
- 48:52Speaker 1: such a situ in such a way that there's ship
- 48:54Speaker 1: all over the place like that.
- 48:55Speaker 8: To me is.
- 48:57Speaker 2: That's code of red. That's get the boys.
- 48:59Speaker 1: Get the boys out, except that you're about to smell
- 49:02Speaker 1: and be shitty, or take him outside, get the hose,
- 49:05Speaker 1: get the hose, water him down, and say to yourself,
- 49:08Speaker 1: this is worse than the time the raccoons got stuck
- 49:12Speaker 1: in the copier. Yeah, chuckle about the Anchorman old Anchorman movie,
- 49:16Speaker 1: and pray to god, wife's up there, clean up the room.
- 49:19Speaker 1: I know, I wouldn't want to clean the room.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Oh, they had sex fanther in the room. Yes, that's
- 49:24Speaker 3: essentially what was going on. Yeah, damn, hey good. What
- 49:28Speaker 3: was his name again? Zach zach Zig zach Ze, thank
- 49:32Speaker 3: you for that email. That was hilarious, Vincent. Vincent writes
- 49:37Speaker 3: in on YouTube. He says, seeing the end of the
- 49:39Speaker 3: road in sight. Wife is thirty seven weeks pregnant with
- 49:43Speaker 3: our first and it's a baby boy, and we're getting
- 49:46Speaker 3: induced in three days. Everything is finally starting to kick in.
- 49:50Speaker 3: All the feelings, emotions and thoughts are running through my
- 49:53Speaker 3: mind faster than I can understand. So many worries I
- 49:57Speaker 3: keep thinking about. But I know I've got this podc
- 50:00Speaker 3: as to watch every Wednesday, and you boys have got
- 50:02Speaker 3: me ready to tackle anything coming my way. Appreciate what
- 50:06Speaker 3: you guys are doing. Shout out the boy, man, Shout
- 50:10Speaker 3: out the boy. Thank you for the comment that gets
- 50:12Speaker 3: me so dead, like somebody's going into something with confidence.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Because I will say this week, like this weekend, I
- 50:18Speaker 3: would not be going into it with the confidence I
- 50:21Speaker 3: have if it wasn't for this show. And I mean
- 50:23Speaker 3: that I to man. So I'm feeling with Vincent's feeling.
- 50:29Speaker 1: This was from Waylon Ransom. This is this comes from
- 50:32Speaker 1: the social media platform x ah.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Nice gentlemen. I've been given the honor and.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Privileged to coach my daughter's fourth grade powder puff flag
- 50:41Speaker 1: football team. What an honor. We will be playing the
- 50:45Speaker 1: third grade squad. It's eight v eight. This is my
- 50:49Speaker 1: coaching debut. Any advice for coaching or pregame speech advice
- 50:53Speaker 1: would be appreciated.
- 50:56Speaker 2: This game will be.
- 50:57Speaker 1: October twelfth, around three pm. I can update y'all after
- 51:02Speaker 1: the huge win. What's the date right now? It's a
- 51:05Speaker 1: third so he'll get to listen to this before before
- 51:08Speaker 1: the game kicks off.
- 51:09Speaker 2: This is this is a deep water conversation. This is
- 51:11Speaker 2: a deep water spid.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Are they the underdogs in this?
- 51:14Speaker 1: This is a fourth grade team, they're playing the third grade.
- 51:16Speaker 1: They're playing the third grade team. So this should be bullied.
- 51:19Speaker 3: This should be bullyball.
- 51:21Speaker 8: Bully ball, establish the run.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Yeah, there you yet.
- 51:29Speaker 2: I didn't know if you had anything else.
- 51:30Speaker 5: You started just let's first drive, just power gap scheme
- 51:35Speaker 5: the whole time. Does this third three get a year
- 51:37Speaker 5: advantage on them?
- 51:38Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 51:38Speaker 1: Do you think this third grade team understands what it's
- 51:41Speaker 1: like when fourth graders put their paws on them? This
- 51:45Speaker 1: is a deep water situation. We're gonna take this team.
- 51:47Speaker 1: We're gonna run the football. I don't know if you
- 51:50Speaker 1: can blitz I doubt you can blitz. However, Reroute, get
- 51:53Speaker 1: your hand on these little fucking third graders, because what
- 51:55Speaker 1: we're gonna do in this ball game is we're gonna
- 51:58Speaker 1: take them one foot at a time in the deeper
- 52:02Speaker 1: and deeper water until we can hold them underwater and
- 52:05Speaker 1: the bubbles stop. That's the kind of game we're about
- 52:08Speaker 1: to have. And if you have any doubt in your mind,
- 52:10Speaker 1: go sit with your parents. I don't know if that's
- 52:14Speaker 1: you know, you got to make sure you're the only
- 52:15Speaker 1: adult in the room telling them this kind of speech,
- 52:18Speaker 1: because we're talking about like hold third graders underwater, which,
- 52:21Speaker 1: by the way, this is also fun humorous podcast for
- 52:23Speaker 1: any you know, Karen, somebody be sitting there like, oh shit,
- 52:26Speaker 1: why is he saying that? Now, this is the kind
- 52:28Speaker 1: of football game. We're trying to win a football game.
- 52:29Speaker 1: We're trying to motivate however we can. I do have
- 52:31Speaker 1: some there you go, Shuham, he's getting ready for this
- 52:33Speaker 1: football game right now.
- 52:35Speaker 2: I do have some as somebody who like when I
- 52:37Speaker 2: was in high.
- 52:38Speaker 1: School, it was my junior year all state wide receiver,
- 52:43Speaker 1: you know, safety from Notre Dame.
- 52:46Speaker 3: Yeah, something like that.
- 52:48Speaker 1: That's not what we're talking about in my free time
- 52:51Speaker 1: after practice. High school, I coached. I was a head
- 52:55Speaker 1: coach of a fourth grade team tackle football. I was
- 52:59Speaker 1: a head coach, which I go to the RGFL fields.
- 53:01Speaker 1: We practiced twice a week. Did we go undefeated or
- 53:06Speaker 1: did we go five and one? We might have lost
- 53:08Speaker 1: the game. We might have lost the game. But having
- 53:13Speaker 1: experience in this mode you have there's some plays out
- 53:17Speaker 1: there to be made. If you can get these fourth
- 53:19Speaker 1: graders understanding some jet sweep handing the ball, getting to
- 53:23Speaker 1: the edge, because I'm telling you these third graders, their
- 53:25Speaker 1: eyes are gonna be in the backfield if you can
- 53:28Speaker 1: hit the perimeter with.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Some jet sweeps. And I'm talking.
- 53:32Speaker 1: I made a halftime adjustment that I still think about
- 53:34Speaker 1: to this day because I would get in a power
- 53:37Speaker 1: eye for me because you're not throwing the ball very
- 53:39Speaker 1: much in fourth grade.
- 53:40Speaker 2: You're not You're not throwing the ball.
- 53:41Speaker 1: You might like lob one up if you catch them,
- 53:44Speaker 1: you get the tight end down the seam, but you're
- 53:46Speaker 1: playing power football. This is man on man. Like they
- 53:50Speaker 1: got it. They're gonna feel you. I would get in
- 53:52Speaker 1: a power eye and I'll be running, you know. Twenty
- 53:54Speaker 1: six power I'll be doing, you know, sweeps, everything else.
- 53:57Speaker 1: And I realize as I'm sitting back there as the
- 54:00Speaker 1: head man in the OC watching the defense perform, their
- 54:03Speaker 1: eyes are in the backfield. They're gonna go with whatever
- 54:07Speaker 1: way the flow feels. They're gonna over pursue, right, especially
- 54:11Speaker 1: when they're getting gashed up the middle or getting gashed
- 54:13Speaker 1: on the perimeter. The coordinator, the defensive coordinator in the
- 54:16Speaker 1: back is gonna be telling his second level, his backers,
- 54:19Speaker 1: I gotta see you take off once you see this happen,
- 54:22Speaker 1: that's where the ball's going.
- 54:23Speaker 2: That's where you gotta go.
- 54:24Speaker 1: I would get in the power rider where you line
- 54:26Speaker 1: up three running backs right, And what I halftime adjustment
- 54:29Speaker 1: I made is we be hitting the twenty eight sweeps
- 54:32Speaker 1: on them, twenty seven sweeps on them to where you
- 54:35Speaker 1: get the second level over pursuing. And what I ended
- 54:38Speaker 1: the adjustment, I ended up making, Hey, I want a
- 54:41Speaker 1: full twenty eight sweep. That's the optics I want. Everybody else,
- 54:44Speaker 1: you're twenty eight sweep. I told the quarterback and the
- 54:46Speaker 1: running back, here's what you're gonna do. You're gonna jab
- 54:48Speaker 1: step like it's twenty eight and you're gonna go the
- 54:50Speaker 1: back side and at the seven hole, and you're gonna
- 54:52Speaker 1: be running scott free.
- 54:53Speaker 2: That's called a counter, baby, Yeah, that's called a counter. However,
- 54:57Speaker 2: this is no.
- 54:57Speaker 1: The only one that needs counter footwork is the running
- 54:59Speaker 1: back and the the quarterback who knows he's faking it
- 55:02Speaker 1: this way and then dishing it out to him on
- 55:03Speaker 1: the left and he gone, yeah, he going, I don't
- 55:05Speaker 1: need you by pulling backside, this is gonna be wide open.
- 55:08Speaker 2: So one jab step.
- 55:09Speaker 1: Once you get him over pursuing in the first half,
- 55:12Speaker 1: you come back in the second half they over pursue.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Boom foot in the ground. You're out the back door
- 55:16Speaker 1: the other way. Yep, eighty eight out the gate. And
- 55:18Speaker 1: we're talking.
- 55:19Speaker 3: This is girls flag football, correct, this powder puff? Okay,
- 55:24Speaker 3: shirts need to be tucked in. No ponies, You need
- 55:27Speaker 3: French braids. Ponies are gonna come loose. Hair's gonna get
- 55:30Speaker 3: in the face. All the girls need to show up
- 55:32Speaker 3: in French braids. Yeah, no ponies, and get the eye black.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Get the eye black out.
- 55:37Speaker 1: If you don't want to use the deep water analogy,
- 55:40Speaker 1: this is the eye black game.
- 55:42Speaker 3: This is the eye black game. But hey, make it
- 55:45Speaker 3: fun for him. Because the little ones, when they're having fun,
- 55:48Speaker 3: that's that's when the magic happens. So keep it fun,
- 55:51Speaker 3: keep it light. But we also need to end some
- 55:53Speaker 3: lives tonight.
- 55:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:55Speaker 1: And you know what's fun, sure, winning, winning, imposing your will. Hey,
- 56:00Speaker 1: I'm seeing the other team not have fun anymore.
- 56:03Speaker 3: I met this guy the other day. He was having
- 56:05Speaker 3: so much fun. Guess what he wasn't a loser. You
- 56:09Speaker 3: ever met a loser having a lot of fun? Will?
- 56:11Speaker 2: No? I haven't.
- 56:12Speaker 3: Hey, I will say this to you. Get a running
- 56:14Speaker 3: back that is the shortest girl on your team, because
- 56:17Speaker 3: there is something very strange with flag football with the
- 56:20Speaker 3: younger generation of leaning down and pulling a flag. Doesn't
- 56:24Speaker 3: matter if she has a whole lot of speed. If
- 56:26Speaker 3: she's down low and people are having to reach down
- 56:29Speaker 3: for her flags, they will miss her.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Because at that age they're not as good as dropping
- 56:33Speaker 1: their hips to balance.
- 56:34Speaker 5: No.
- 56:35Speaker 3: And so if you have a back with a low
- 56:36Speaker 3: center of gravity, even if it's not the shiftiest person
- 56:39Speaker 3: on your team but has some good speed, tote the rock.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Tote the rock. Tote the rock.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you need to go into that game, and before
- 56:49Speaker 1: you walk on the field, you need to know that
- 56:51Speaker 1: your team. There is no smiling happening. No, it's a
- 56:54Speaker 1: focused bunch. This is hey, we drop this game right here.
- 56:57Speaker 1: There are no snow cones postgame.
- 56:59Speaker 3: Yeah. And if hey, and if anybody's giggling back of
- 57:04Speaker 3: the line, back of the line, you see another one
- 57:07Speaker 3: giggling back of the line. Because the third graders all
- 57:10Speaker 3: they need to see is the mean mugs of the
- 57:12Speaker 3: fourth graders, because there will be some giggling. Let's not
- 57:15Speaker 3: fool ourselves. These are fourth grade girls. There's gonna be
- 57:17Speaker 3: some giggling. Hey, girls, get out there, mean mugget ball.
- 57:21Speaker 3: There's gonna be some good back of the line.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Yeah you're not.
- 57:24Speaker 3: You're not leading this team out. You're gonna be giggling.
- 57:26Speaker 2: Yeah, i'd stop practice.
- 57:29Speaker 3: Oh yeah, dude, you're running labs.
- 57:31Speaker 1: We wouldn't run laps, but I beg Do you want
- 57:33Speaker 1: to tell everybody else to joke? Because we're trying to
- 57:36Speaker 1: run a twenty six counter right now and your footwork
- 57:39Speaker 1: is awful?
- 57:39Speaker 3: Hey, Will's got something funny for everybody? Will? What do
- 57:42Speaker 3: you got? It looks funny when you're telling Johnny.
- 57:45Speaker 2: Oh, you're done telling the joke, all right? Can we
- 57:46Speaker 2: get back to work?
- 57:50Speaker 3: And walk out the scrilla obviously the kids bop kids,
- 57:53Speaker 3: Bob scrill.
- 57:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, thank you for shooting us that comment. Whalen,
- 57:57Speaker 1: we are excited to hear football game?
- 58:00Speaker 3: Went where is it being played?
- 58:05Speaker 1: Does not say, However, it's on October twelfth around three pm.
- 58:08Speaker 3: Oh okay, I was gonna say, I'm free the twelfth.
- 58:10Speaker 1: So if you want to make a halftime adjustment or
- 58:14Speaker 1: you hit a jet sweep on the perimeter, I do
- 58:15Speaker 1: expect a phone.
- 58:17Speaker 2: I expect the video.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Yeah, we gotta have video and the walkout to the kids, bobscrilla.
- 58:22Speaker 3: That would go hard.
- 58:27Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm thinking ball right now.
- 58:29Speaker 1: I'm thinking how I can you know it's eight v
- 58:32Speaker 1: eight so you're not gonna have you can stack your
- 58:34Speaker 1: line of scrimmage. You get a jet sweep person going.
- 58:37Speaker 1: You gotta see what the defense is doing on the
- 58:39Speaker 1: jet sweep because let's just say you're jetting to the right.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Yeah even numbers, that's the right side. Yeah, say you're
- 58:46Speaker 1: jetting to the right, but you're running a twenty seven,
- 58:49Speaker 1: a twenty five, you're running something to the left side.
- 58:52Speaker 2: You want to see what the second level is doing.
- 58:53Speaker 1: Are they pursuing the jet sweep or are they moving
- 58:56Speaker 1: with the line of scrimmage in the backfield? That right
- 58:58Speaker 1: there is going to tell you how you can open
- 58:59Speaker 1: them up game.
- 59:02Speaker 3: The only thing I'm worried about is that corner that
- 59:05Speaker 3: she the third grade corner. She's out there. She hasn't
- 59:08Speaker 3: been paying attention all game. She's sleeping, she's picking flowers,
- 59:11Speaker 3: she's doing whatever.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but that that right there is you got a challenge.
- 59:16Speaker 1: You're tight end or your tackle. You win on the
- 59:18Speaker 1: first step because I need you to capture that outside arm.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Yeah, at the playground rocking with my classmates. But yeah,
- 59:32Speaker 3: lesson less know how it goes.
- 59:35Speaker 1: You get in some dad wins and losses. Yes, eleven
- 59:37Speaker 1: forty eight right now. Got to keep it under an out.
- 59:39Speaker 1: I got to keep it under it out. I have
- 59:45Speaker 1: a dad loss. I need you to say it because
- 59:50Speaker 1: what's going on. I'm trying hard to find it that long.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Oh okay, okay, okay.
- 59:54Speaker 1: You had a good you had a good week. It
- 59:57Speaker 1: just I feel like we're we my wife and I
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: like we're very busy. Yeah, we're dialed. Yeah, and against
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: more of like not necessarily dead losses.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: It's just you know, when my wife's got to run
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: double duty.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: Yeah, y'all are filling a lot of gaps, so like
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: if there are any misses, it's like, hey, yea, they're
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: filling gaps, so like I'm you know.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: It's yeah, it's more just about the support I can
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: provide around, like provide for Charrow, around Charrow, intentional time
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: for us. One thing that we are doing, staycation tonight.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: It's Friday night. Oh, Mom and Daddy got a staycation.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: We're downtown Nashville. Four seasons, four seasons. Yeah, Ao, we
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: got a little spa set up. Massages happening around four
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: thirty today, Little dinner reservation, keep it under an hour,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: mill of the afternoon, go early, check in, rest of
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: the day together, Tomorrow morning.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Together, servant. What's you getting for dinner at Shockway? Alright
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: in I was gonna make a joke on steak preparation,
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: but it didn't feel right, did not feel right. But yeah,
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: I'm very fired up about that. That's all.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Very fired up.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Y'all deserve that. Y'all both been going and blowing and
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: I feel like Jill same, come on, come on, but
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: I feel you going and blowing.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Five seconds later.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, repetition, sweet are you I'm not as
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: good as I once was.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Maybe next time we can like go on an actual vacation.
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: This is the same thing we already did. We should
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: catch up on some sleep, right, a big day tomorrow, Husks,
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: What was I even gonna say? Oh, dad loss?
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: It uh, that fires me up that you don't really
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: have a dad loss. I don't really have a dad
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: loss either, except for last night. I told you the
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: report card was out. The last two weeks, Jill's been
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: grading me strict because she's about to go out of town.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: And I fowed up last night and I fed Scarlett
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: thirty minutes earlier than what she actually feeds at which
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: then turned into a conversation of do you even know
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: our daughter's schedule? What are we doing? Sherman? She never
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: takes her basket at six thirty? Why are you taking Why?
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Why did you put her in a bath at six thirty?
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: She has a bottle in her mouth before seven. She's
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: not even in bed till seven thirty. This is gonna
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: mess up the whole sleep schedule. And I'm like, honey,
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: it's fine, it's gonna be great. Blah blah blah. Last
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: night was miserable. Scarlet slept terrible. Jill was right. We
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: got her off her schedule and she had a terrible
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: night's sleep, but Jill did before she leaves before she
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: but Jill did apologize to me. She was like, hey,
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: I came down on you too hard.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: It's not lack of effort, thank you. It's not lack
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: of vester.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: She was like, I know where your head was at
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: because she told me before she was going to go
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: get her nails done all that stuff for the Bacherette party.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: And she was like, hey, she cannot fall asleep right
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: before bedtime or she won't go to bed. And so
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: I'm playing with her. I'm keeping her awake. She's starting
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: to doze off, and I'm like, oh, well, she loves
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: like when I change her, So I go to go
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: change her because I'll keep her awake. And now I'm like, oh, well,
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: you know already got her naked. Let's do bathtime because
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: it's probably close to the battime right now. Didn't check
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: my phone, put her in the back. I was in
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: the right headspace, but it just it didn't translate.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Well, just for the just for the moms out there,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: you can you can coach technique. You can't coach effort
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: if your man's got the effort going. Like if you
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: were thirty minutes late. To me, that's a that's more
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: of a hammer down. Yeah, conversation. Yeah, we're thirty minutes early.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Let's coach the technique. Yeah, let's understand that you are
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: playing fast, and you're playing with a lot of effort,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: you care, and you're on it.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: It a little early and you should have seen me
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: doing bad time.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Dude, I like truly was operating for anybody that's never
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: given a newborn a bath. I mean, it's like, you
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: gotta have one hand on the towel because you can't
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: do two hands on the baby and then be reaching
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: for the towel because they're wet and slippery and they're
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: gonna get cold and they're gonna start crying, so you
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: gotta have the towel quick.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: What's operating?
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of crushed it, except for the fact
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: that I did everything like forty five to thirty minutes.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Do you were so prepared? You just you guessed a
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: little bit before the play started.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, And coach came back around, like Jill came
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: back around and totally was like she really did.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: But she was like, hey, right here, use your eyes. Yeah,
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: the entire formation.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: All it's all good. The lines move in that way.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Your eyes are on the back. Yeah, case of the counter.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you took what we did in individual period and
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: you are applying it. I'm not trying to slow you down.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Keep playing with that much effort. It's showing up every week,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: your preparation, the speed you're playing at. Let's widen the
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: vision a little bit.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it because because the game made like the
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: individual drills, anything can happen.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but that was.
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: My dad loss. It wasn't that big of a dablo,
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: not that bad. We're kind of operating, but that doesn't
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: mean we're kind of due for a big one this
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: week for sure.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: I meant for you.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: I know you meant for me, I said, but I
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: was due for Dad loss, and you said this weekend.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: I thought you meant a big one, like big win,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: like I saw it as minor setback, major comeboun Okay, Okay, okay,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: that I fully Yeah death, I'll be I'll be tapping
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: in it. I'll be tapping in each day. Yeah, tapping, tapping,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: I'll tapping because I'm I'll need it. That scared me
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: for a second. I was like, by the way, spootober,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: you know one of the rules embracing the spook. Yeah,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: once a weekend. Yeah, we will be going to a
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: uh a park, some pumpkin patch, pumpkin patch type of
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: a little Halloween theme park. If you do want to
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: join when, I'll tell you after all, right, right, I'll
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: tell you after.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: I think it would be fun as well. No, it
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: would be fun.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: I'm just like a smaller scale one, not one where
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: it's like we're talking gentry farms and stuff. And I'm
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: like you, hey, sure you could tag along, but I
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: know Jill would want to be part of that too,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: So a wait for Jill to get home.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a smaller one that I do. It's like,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: this is one where you get out of the house
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: and may get a couple of photos. Shoot him too,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: the wifey ate, Well, look at look at PT six
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: hunting trip, look at fast Aft for crushing This one.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Hunting trip all but confirmed for later this year.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: This is one you go to and you could go
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: to this one every weekend. Oh if I It's just
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: a good little out, a little fun yeah, good little outing.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Okay, well that's perfect. Also, I might be playing pub
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: you tonight.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: Coo, no staycation one night.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: I can tomorrow, Okay, I can tomorrow. Okay, I forgot
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: I saw Mom and Dad times. I forgot about staycation.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: That is on me.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that is on me. But well, I'll be back
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: in action tomorrow.

- 1:08:48Speaker 3: for the Dads. Let's get back to this episode. Uh
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: my crack a cold one. This week is going to
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: go to our sitter taught rule a little game. But
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: it's like a like a gratitude game. It's called rosen Thorn,
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: Like what was your rose of the day? What was
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: your thorn of the day? Oh so your rose of
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: the day is like something you were grateful for, something
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: you had fun with, something that made.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: You really happy.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: Your thorn thorn of the day is something that that
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: potentially bothered you or something that made you upset. I
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: thought it was a really good way. Like Ruth's bringing
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: this game up to me. She's like, that day, let's
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: play rosen Thorn, roseen Thorn. I'm like, all right, well,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: what's rosen Thorn?
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: What I missed? I was going for twenty four hours?
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but she starts naming her rosen Thorne to where
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: I'm getting what she's I'm understanding what she's saying.
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: She's rattling off an entire list for her rose.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Like playing with dad Dad, like Scottie making her laugh,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: like getting to play with mama, seeing mom in the morning,
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: things that she might have done at school m uh
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: like students that made her laugh, or getting to play
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: a game outside for She's like ratt on.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: Off a list.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Yeah, her thorn was mama not getting to see her play.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Oh what about that that didn't get to be at
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: school either? That again, get see me play either? All right,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: all right, I needed that one thorn. I get that. Yeah, Scotty,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Like if Ruth's playing and Scotty goes and like, you know,
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: just being scott Zilla, like we will be trying to
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: build this little foam robot where like magnetizes and Scotty
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: comes over and she just, you know, and she just
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: starts like screaming. Rue starts screaming, and Scotty just got
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: a smile and like grabbing at the phone. Robot, come
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: play over here, like play over in this spot, Scotti here.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Try to give her the remote so Scotty's occupied, so
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: roo can build this robot. Yeah, and then then you'll
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: hear you should drop the robot lean and get on
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: the ground.
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: And then you hear it's ma Scotty. I'll make Scott.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: And then when I'm like yelling like that Scotty, Scotty know,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: and Ruth just gets in like she just got through
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: into the ocean type of scream like a horror movie's happening.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: Because Scotty's getting close to her.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I kind of I can't help as I'm going over
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: there like laughing, and sweetheart, Scotty's just she thinks she's
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: just playing with you.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: She doesn't know. She's kind of like waffle.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: She doesn't know what's going on right now. But uh,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: rosen Thorne is a cracker cole one I really like
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: because it also gets rude talking about what upset her
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: in the day so we can talk through that. Talks
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: about what she's grateful for, which I love. And then
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: another cracker call one is just Embracing the Spook. Rue
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: went to Charlie took Rue. They went to the library
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: yesterday and Rue came home with the book Wicked. Oh
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Richy's so excited to show me, like, you know, for
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: like Halloween and everything else. Yes, so embracing the Spook.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: When your kiddo's embrace the Spook. Those are my crack
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: of cold ones.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: Is that Wicked like the musical? I believe?
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: So.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: I think it's like Wizard of Oz.
- 1:12:02Speaker 8: I'll be fully.
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: I got dragged there when it released in theaters by
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: the girlfriend.
- 1:12:06Speaker 8: It was fucking awesome. That's that's one that I will.
- 1:12:12Speaker 8: I put hands out.
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: We were walking out of there and go, she goes,
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: that was incredible, and I go, that was incredible.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: I forgot.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: You know, Shuram was a jack chef.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: He was like, why are we going to this dude,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: fucking musical musical?
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: We were named off we were naming off movies over there.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: I totally forgot. I'm so glad you brought this up. Uh,
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: you were naming movies too, Derek. Weren't you over there? Yes,
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: I couldn't remember it if you, but we're all.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Is probably over there.
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: I do.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: That is where my desk is.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: He I do, sit right next to you, Sherman. But
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: we were naming off all these movies. It's like La confidential. Uh,
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: just like all these like dude films. And then Chef's like, hey,
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie. It's same story he just told
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: and I'm behind my computer started laughing so hard. But
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: I was like, Wicked was good.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it was good.
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: I gotta give it. I gotta give the nod.
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: We were talking about how like maybe it was Crazy
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: Rich Asians, which is another one that like date in
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: their right mind, you're going to theater. You're not thinking,
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: let's go watch Crazy Rich Asians, but then you go
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: watching You're fuck incredible, incredible.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: But I still need to get on that too. You
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: have to get on this weekend would be perfect? Yeah,
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: that was it would it.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Wouldn't be It wouldn't be perfect. Has Jill seen it?
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: Well, I feel like Jill probably has seen it. If
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: I confirm with Jill and she's like, I have seen it.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: I love it, and I'm great thing for you to
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: do during a nap time this weekend. Okay, legitimately perfect.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: I really want that.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: She'll she'll be She'll love that movie. She'll be obsessed
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: with it.
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: And we need a good movie night. We've been looking
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: for a good show and slash good movie. The other
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: thing I gonna bring, oh bonus krackical one for me.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: Jill is really embracing Spooktober with our daughter, and it's
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: kind of sick to see like she has. It's not
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: a webinga, but it's kind of like a webbingu, but
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: instead of a passy attached to it, it's a blanky
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: attached to it. I don't know the name of it. Yeah,
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: but Jill got one with a ghost ye little ghosty.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: And then she dressed up Scarlett for October first, for
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: the kickoff of Spooktober, and she had what they are
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: now calling a boo basket. So it's like an Easter basket,
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: but for little babies on Halloween, you get them their
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: little boo basket.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Bro, there's nothing that gets the parents because you know,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: you get in this lull of Halloween right like you
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: grow up loving Halloween. Did you get to do the costume? Yeah,
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: you dress up. You have a stint in college and
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: stuff where you're younger where you enjoy Halloween because the
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: party scene and everything else.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: The women.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Then you get like, you know, like the young adulthood
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: where it's like a Halloween, like it's another holiday. But
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: then you have kids, brom and holiday or Halloween juices
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: you out because you get to get them in these
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: cute outfits. You're embracing the theme of the month because
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: or Halloween's right around the corner.
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: Some great shows and movies out there too. By the way,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: since we're on, since we're talking about please Halloween, and
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I will say are my survival kit this week is
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: just Spootober merch and one get the Four the Dads
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: BWTV dot com.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: I love that true Poetobra Merch.
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: I do love that shirt.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: BWTV dot com.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: We do have a lot of other like if you're
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: a fan of Busting with the Boys, or you don't
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: have kids and you're looking for Spootober merch or things
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: to kind of uh to embrace Spootober with us. We
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: do have a lot of cool Spooktober merch on the
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: site bwtv dot com. Surem's holding it up right now.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: You've got Spootober. You got nothing, just chilling killing. We
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: have another cool uh Spootober shirt on there, but you
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: can go there and get that. That could be that's
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: a survival kit. But since we're on the theme of Spootober,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: I do have a list. I have a list because again,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: a rule of Spootober is embracing the spook once a
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: weekend by going to something in uh being being festive,
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: say a pumpkin patch, a hay ride, whether it's.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: What I'm drawing a blink right now, like.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: A Jill and I went to a wildflower picking farm
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: that had like pumpkins and stuff.
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: Get outside, get.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: Around some pumpkins, get around the theme of spoopt Obra,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: haunted house, whatever it is. You're doing something to embrace
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: the spook outside for sure. Another rule is watching a
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Halloween themed show or movie per day. And you can
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: either have it on and it can be quick hitters,
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: it can be you have it on for ten minutes.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: Whatever it is.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: You're just you're you're bringing the spook alive. Yeah yeah, uh.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: And when you have kids, you got to get creative,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: because not everything can be horror movie number one of
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: my wife She's got you know, if things get too stressful,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: like we can't do it over No, I personally can't
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: do it over and overall. I call the scary, gory, ghosts,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: paranormal activity.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: Stuff every day.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Yeah, but I've enjoyed getting to relive some nostalgic things
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: that grew up on because now we have kids and
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: now it's like, okay, if I'm gonna embrace the spook,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: I want to have find some movies and some shows
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: that rou can swap out our TV coupon for.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: But I have a list of your movies.

- 1:18:00Speaker 1: The Nightmare before Christmas. It's Halloween Christmas crossover classics. So good.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: Goose Bumps.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: This this isn't This isn't a roue age, This isn't
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: three year olds. But if I'm thinking your parents out
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: there that have some some older kids, maybe in that
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: what seven range seven and up? Goosebumps, Buddy, Goosebumps was
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: the one where the mask gets stuck on the face.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: That haunted me for a very long time.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: Oh dude, I hated because I loved how scary they were.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: I hated those movies.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so scary, yeah, spooky. The Square Pumpkin perfect for
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: the little ones.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: Okay, I'll even this is.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: Good for the audience to figure out finding ways to
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: kind of embrace it.
- 1:18:46Speaker 8: Yeah, square pumps, Spookley's that's older, right.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: Two thousand and five.
- 1:18:50Speaker 8: Yeah, that's right when I was growing up.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: I love that too, because we're talking five and I'm
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: just pulling Casper from nineteen ninety five.
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: You are a classic throwbacks.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Adams Family nineteen ninety one, hocus Pocus nineteen ninety.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: Three, but Monsters Inc.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: And Monsters University, Coco more of a Day of the

- 1:19:11Speaker 2: But a great family watch.
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: It's a good one.
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown nineteen sixty six, nineteen
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: sixty six.
- 1:19:18Speaker 8: Chef seen that one too, Who hasn't.
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: That's one.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: That's where if you're in school, you're getting the old
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: TV rolled in and you're watching some Charlie Brown, The
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Great Pumpkin. Some TV shows and specials out there. I'll
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: rattle through these. Scooby Doo, Where are you Scooby Doo
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: in The Witch's Ghost?
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: Are you afraid of the Dark? That's some nineties Nickelodeon
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: spooky but not too scary.
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: Goosebumps does have a series outside of outside of the movie.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: So you got the nineteen ninety series, and you also
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: have a twenty twenty three Disney Plus series for Goosebumps,
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: The Simpsons, tree House of Horror episodes. That's family friendly
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: if the kids are older. Yeah, yeah, Wizards of Waverley Place,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: that's Disney Channel, Magical Halloween episodes, Girl Verus Monster a
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: Disney Channel original.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: Come on Halloween Town, Halloween, Come on.
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: A lot of Disney Channel originals on Disney Plus. Jill
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: and I were rocking those last year.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, same bro. I got roue on Halloween Town
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: last year when she was two. Halloween Town is that's
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: that's a fun one.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: The Phantom at the Multiplex or whatever it's called.
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: Yeah, those cheesy, cheesy horror movies, and they're so good.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: The Phantom and the skeleton would kind of spook a
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: little bit and you kind of talk her off the ledge.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: They're they're good, They're you know, it's going to turn around.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: It's going to turn around. The Worst Witch, Curious Georgia, Halloween, Boofest,
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Mickey Mouse's of Villains, and Mickey mouse Mickey's Monster Musical.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Those are good.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: Those are Disney Junior Room on the Broom, a twenty
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: twenty animated short, very sweet for younger kids. But those
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: are some movies and shows for various a just to
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: embrace Ootober.
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: Those are some great recommendations I would also throw out
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: for the older kid crowd. Goonies. It's not a true
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: Halloween movie, but it does take place in the fall.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: There are skeletons in it. It's just a great adventure flick,
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: great adventure flick.
- 1:21:17Speaker 9: I would be remiss and everybody in my life would
- 1:21:20Speaker 9: come me fraud if I didn't bring up QB Halloween
- 1:21:23Speaker 9: Adam Sandler.
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: It's on Netflix.
- 1:21:25Speaker 9: I have watched that movie probably over a thousand times
- 1:21:27Speaker 9: on watch every day in October so far already this month.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: Yes, my favorite movie. You were watching it. It was
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: on your story.
- 1:21:33Speaker 9: I always tag the same group of guys from my
- 1:21:36Speaker 9: like like our old days, just and they get so
- 1:21:39Speaker 9: angry about it. I watch it probably once a month
- 1:21:41Speaker 9: throughout the year. I think it's it's such a stupid movie.
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: It's my favorite movie. I did enjoy Hubie. I did
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: enjoy Hube Halloween.
- 1:21:49Speaker 9: It's so hard to make a Halloween movie that hits
- 1:21:53Speaker 9: like Halloween Town and hocus Pocus, Like it's a hard
- 1:21:55Speaker 9: holiday to get into without it being hory, gory or
- 1:21:58Speaker 9: kind of campy.
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: And I thought it did well. It did do well
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: and it and it did have a lot of callback.
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: If you're a big Adam Sandler fan, there are of
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: all of his movies that one has like the most
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: callbacks that I thought were actually done well. And we're
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: like tasteful with like the sheet in the front yard,
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: like Callback the water Boy. Yeah yeah, I like hub Halloween.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: The The other one, dude, I have to bring up
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: with Casper is that priest that shows up when they're
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: doing the Exorcism of the House and he's got like
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: the flat brim hat and he's got the sick. They're like, wait,
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: you're a priest. He's like, yeah, I'm a priest, I said.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: They're like, you think you can do this. He's like,
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: it'll be cake, It'll be crumb cake. I got it.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: And then he just comes back with his head completely Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: oh my god, dude, Casper is such a good.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Meeting, good one. That's a good throwback. That's that's right.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: There's a rollodex, a lot of family a lot of
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: family friendly shows and movies. Add them to the survival kit.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: Embracing October, Embracing Speotober. I can't wait to get dialed
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: in on a movie.
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: Honestly, tonight, I wish I had a list more like
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: down the avenue of this weekend. The crack of cold
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: one was just basically me being able to talk my
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: wife into no babysitters, no night nurses.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: I got this.
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: That is my crack of cool one. It's just Jill
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: trusting me and being like, hey, you got this, and bonus,
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: this is breaking because it happened this morning when Hillary
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: showed up. Because Hillary is my best friend from high
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: school's wife, Like she is just as much Jill's friend
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: as she is my friend, if that makes sense, whereas Brian,
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: her husband, would very much be like closer to me. Yeah, however,
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: Hillary shows up, I'm kind of giving her the rundown
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: of the house. And then I think to myself, Jill's
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: probably already calder and like gave her a full rundown,
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: like I need to chill out, and I go I'm
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: sure Jill's already called you and blah blah, and she goes, no,
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: she didn't call me.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: And I was like like, that's dumb.
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: That's a dumb I was like, dude, that's cool. That
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: means like Jill was pending that responsibility in my court
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: to be like sherman can prep pillary, he's got it.
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: I was like, hey, you can leave some zipaw bags
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: with clothes in it, but like the fact you didn't
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: game prep pillary before she came over cheers, do you thank.
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: You, dude.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: Wife didn't wife didn't call the friend.
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: Before she came over to the house.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: It was kind of sick.
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: Yeah, dad hacks, Dad hacks.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: Oh, I do have a what are the odds?
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: What is it?
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: Tyler Schiller wrote in the water the odds shout out
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: fanduled this week is we were talking about writing in journals.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: Tyler has been writing in a journal to his daughter.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: I just wanted to read a little bit about that
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: Tyler Schiller here out of that rougely you know, and
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: he literally wrote, I said go tigers to be funny.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: He actually wrote go tigers, abu.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: I'm impressed he understands how to write down there in
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: baton rouge lady, and.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: Well he spelled at geaux, which they say is the
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: correct tigers go dogger. Great pod this week had to
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: do the email because I don't have Instagram or Twitter.
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: I'm a proud member of PT Sichos with the thirteen
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: month old boy. He's been the best thing that's ever
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: happened to me and my wife in a mentor of mine,
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: gave me some good advice when he was born. Y'all
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: touched up on it this episode, so figured i'd share.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: He said, keep a journal and write to him whenever
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: something you want to remember for him happens. I address
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: each journal entry to Shepherd, our son's name with the date.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: I'll tell him about the day, or what he did
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: that was hilarious, or something we are proud of, and
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: just write till I feel like stopping. For example, the
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: most recent one was him stealing all the cookies during
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: naptime at daycare while everybody else was sleeping, and eating
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: every single one. That earned him the nickname cookie Monster.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Memories like that is what I write about. Adaptive to
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: make it easier to remember to write it in is
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: to keep the journal right next to your bed, on
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: your night's sand It's as much for us as it
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: is for him to look back on when he's older. Anyway,
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: feel free to share this or not up to y'all.
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: We just did. Just wanted to pass it along that
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: it is something I've really enjoyed doing, and I recommend
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: it to any of my friends who are expecting God
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: bless looking forward to the next pod. Take the trash
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: out send by my iPhone.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: Love that that is awesome. What's the what are the odds?
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: What are the odds is he was doing it before
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: we even brought it up on the show. That's crazy.
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: What are the odds of that?
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: Yeah, what are the odds of that? I don't know
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: what those odds are. Shut Out, shut outvandul. Come on,
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: let's do fifty.
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Plus do fifty.
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: Survival kid, Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well my SUPERVIOV kid was
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: Pootober Mergers.
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: That's right, all the shows and movies. I have a
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: good survival kid. A playpin. We have a playpin for
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: Scarlet now in the living room, and it's like fully
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: fenced off. Jill, I believe bought it at Target. This
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: is not like some crazy brand. It's affordable. It's pretty big,
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: I would say, like the size of like an area rug.
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: In Scarlet, she loved playing in her nursery. But in
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: that playpin, dude, I don't know what it is, but
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: it's like she knows that that's like her little world.
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: And we have like different play mats like laid out
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: in there. We have like a little tint playing that.
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: We got her little unicorns and butterflies hanging from stuff,
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: and I set her down. This morning, I was in
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: the kitchen making breakfast, moving operating, cleaning, bottles making bottles.
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: I did not have to touch her a single time
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: for like thirty minutes. She just that in there and
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: was like, ah, it was awesome.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: I love that.
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: Highly advised, highly advised.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: I want to get a playpin. Wife won't let me
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: get one.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: Oh really, just because there's a lot of stuff in
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: the house and she just you know, y'all's living love.
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: I grew up on the road, grass bro, they had
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: the playpin.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: Yes, dude, y'all's living room is very similar to ours. Yeah,
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: we had like we don't have the coffee table in
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: there anymore. We had to move all of our furniture out,
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: like it. It has taken over our living room right
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: right to Toro's point, Like, I get that because.
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: That's why I got a barricade ship up dude.
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, you could get one up in the upstairs.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know we got that, like uh my
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: brother God bless him, love the gift. Rude loved it.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: But the little ball pit, but the balls get everywhere.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: So we we got enough stuff up there. Yea.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: So it's like we got those those cushions.
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: It's like they're like cushions, but you can like build
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: forts and stuff with these cushions.
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: Those are the ones that Reve's always jumping on, right.
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: Yeah, she's small.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: When she's small enough, she thinks it's a slide or
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: supposed to be putting the slide for him. But yeah,
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: she's like jumping all around on it. We got the
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: bean bag up there. We got a lot of like
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: the Monassory toys, and she's got like the work bench,
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: like she's got a lot of stuff up there. Yeah,
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: like she's got the thing that we bought. It's like
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: a it's like a tent set, but you can build
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: it into a lot of different things. Like you can
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: build into like a puppet show. You can build it
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: into like a restaurant. You can build it into just
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: like a tent, like a long little tent thing. Sounds sick. Yeah,
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: it's fun and we you know, we have we have
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: enough stuff to war. When you're up in that bonus room,
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: you know, I can just like slide the door shut,
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: and that's like the play area.
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: It's the main cave until Waffle comes out. I don't
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: know how Waffle slides that door open.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: She does. We're actual He's banging on it until it
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: opens it up.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: Bulldog it's like we don't have it locked in where
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: it's on the bottom, like that part broke, so it's
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: like one of those slide doors, but it can like
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: come out, you know what I mean and waffle just
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: like run her head on it until they're like wiggles
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: to where she can get a little snout and like
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: move it to get in there.
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: This is my first time hanging out at Will's house.
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: I just see the door in the crowd just as
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: he's like talking to me and I'm trying to like
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: keep my I'm like, dude, there's a ghost up here.
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: It's your doors just going ewing.
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: That's a good. That's a good.
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: That's a good tip like building on that survival kit
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: for like what you know for young parents or if
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: you're expecting. The reason I like love I love that
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: idea is because routine is so crucial for kids and
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: then like getting understanding what they're gonna be getting into
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: like each different time of the day. Uh So that
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: play area, that little playpin area is like she knows
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: it's playtime when you're keeping them on routine where you
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: feed them, you burp them, if you're gonna give them
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: either tummy time, or playtime. They know putting them in
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: the pin or putting them in their area of play.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: They know it's playtime. Or like when you're going for
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: the nighttime routine and you know, you close the curtains,
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: you put the little sound machine on, or if it's
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: a little night light, whatever it is. You're getting them
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: their PJS on first, Like for us, it's getting their
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: pjs off, or you change them, get their pjs on first.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: You got the little you got the little noise playing
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: like you're getting them ready for bedtime. They know they're
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: locking in okay, this is the part of the day
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: where they're, you know, expected training me to sleep through
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: the night. You're getting them prep for bedtime. Same with
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: nap time. You're getting them in the mode of whatever
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: the routine is or the habits are around that time.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: Same with again your survival kit, the playpin area. Their
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: brain is getting prepped for. It is playtime. This is
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: where I go. They set me down, They play with
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: me dad, Her mama's doing stuff like I have enough
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: things to occupy me.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: It's time to play.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: Yes, Her eyes start moving as soon as her back
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: touches that play matt. Her her eyes are moving she's
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: smiling because she's like, Oh, this is when y'all roll
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: me around and do the calls it the rotisserie chicken
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: where you push your legs in and we kind of
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: move her side to side and we make our hands
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: and her feet touch on you know, the sides.
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: You get the little I forget what it's called, but
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: the like the player where it's like it's almost like
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: it's like a matt and it's got the things hanging
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: up top of it and they're just on and kind
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: of looking and.
- 1:32:11Speaker 8: And it rips.
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: Yeah, she loves the one that we got from Kiwi Ko.
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it ribs.
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: She got her daddy's bows too. When I'm doing those
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: little rotisserie chicken, she.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: Got her daddy's bout daddy's boughs. Got his daddy's boughs
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: because you'd be walking. You've got the bag of Chick
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: fil a in different fast food.
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: She got her daddy Like all the time when we're
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: doing this, I have a I have a fun dad hack.
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: What's your dad? Fun dad hack?
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: For parents that struggle getting their kids to eat, uh,
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: using fun at dinner time because I'll get at the
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: age where it's always a negotiation, always a battle to
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: get her eating food because we'll always finish first, and
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: you're kind of sitting there, real, please, for the love
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: of God, eat your chicken, eat your broccol eat this,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: eat that's he's just a minute. Anything you put in
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: front of her, she's letting you know. She's putting it down.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: She like sure, but a fun thing I came across,
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: like last night as I'm sitting there, We're trying to
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: get Root eat her food because it was kind of
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: like a like a coconut chicken that we had had
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: and she didn't want to eat it. And I start
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: bothering her, like, you know, rue can't eat your food.
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: She know I don't want to eat my food.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: And then I get to where I'm tickling her, but
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: she's not in the mood to have fun and play.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: She's like stop, stop, and she's like putting her hand
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: pushing me away. In the minute, she like put her
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: hand up to keep me away from going at her
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: to where it's like, oh, here comes the tickle monster
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: if you don't eat your food, and she's getting to
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: w her She's not into that anymore. Where it's like
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: that's not gonna get me to eat my food, like, oh,
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: tickle monster's gonna get you. Better eat you food for
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: the tickle monster gets you. She would when she's younger,
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: she would eat before the tickle monster would get her.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: That was one fun way of using dinner time to
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: get her to eat your food. Now it's turned into
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: like tickle monster come to get you, and she's like
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: she starts getting pissy with me, like, no, Dad, I'm.
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: Not gonna eat my food. I don't want to eat
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: my food. I'm like, all right.
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: So when she put her hand up to stop me
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: from coming and I went into Darth Vader choke, I
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: went into dark bag. She puts her hand up choking.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: I was like, and you know, she kind of like
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: her face starts to break. And once she puts her
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: hand on stof, I'm like, oh, you can't be doing that,
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: or you're gonna you're gonna force choke me. And Scottie
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: goes over there and starts reaching it because she's like
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: laughing or playing and she just like puts her hands
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: up just to reach randomly. You know. When she does,
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: I was like, oh no, Roof starts to get a
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: crack of a smile and then she puts her hand
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: on my here comes go on.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: She puts it up and I'm like until she puts
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: it down, I'm like, oh, oh.
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: That got us in the mode of play to where
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: I would grab her hand up back. You can't put
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: your hand up or Dad is gonna choke again, Like, please,
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: just eat it bout of it before you do it again.
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: Just eat it out of your food. You can choke
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: me again. She eat a bout of her food and
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: then it's boom and then I'm like, I'm like, I'm
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: lifting myselful out of the chair and she puts out like,
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: oh all right, we can keep doing this. Dad is
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: starting to get tired because it's really starting to hurt.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: But we can keep doing this. You just eat a
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: bit of your food. She eats it bity of her food,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: and it's like, all right, you're onto something. So that's
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: a way to make dinner time fun that you eat
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: your food, because as a parent, you'll start getting it
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: appens to us more often than not. But you get
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: frustrated and then I'll leverage your cookie, y'all. I've gotten
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: that down to a t.
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: Hey good.
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: You don't have to eat your food.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: You just you know what time it is if you
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: don't eat your food, CPC, CPC, And I'll hit her
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: with that. I'll be like, sweetheart, it's okay, she don't
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: have to eat your food. And I'm like, you can
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: go over there and so on the couch, do whatever
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: you want. You don't have to teach your food and
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: kind of a cookie. You know, you know you don't
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: get a cookie. You eat your food, you get a cookie. Yeah,
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: so it's you, it's your choice. You don't have to eat.
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: And that's I mean, that is that works. But the
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: way to have fun, to kind of get your impatience
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: out of it, or to turn it into a fun game,
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: that's a new one I found is getting force choked.
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: I cannot wait for here. In like two months, she's
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: gonna be at soccer practice. One of those boys is
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: got a rough houser bump into her. You're just gonna
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: be walked and watching from afar and you're just gonna
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: see her go the kids.
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: Well, what's funny is at first she thought it was
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: really happening.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: Yeah, like she thought she had the power.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: And then Scotty was you know when she randomly like
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: lifts her arms up like, oh, rouh, Scotty's doing it
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: to you, and Rude just like looks at me and
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: I'm like, is it not working? She's like no, I'm like,
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: you gotta pretend. You have to pretend. And then Ruth
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: started like pretending. H kind of get her sense of
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: humor going a little bit. He come on, boy, to
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: make dinner fun as a dad hack to get your
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: kids to eat.
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: I love that dad hack. You made me do a
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: different dad hack than what I had written down. This
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: actually happened yesterday when JJ was here, which is Jeremy's son.
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: They asked him five or six times if he needed
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: to go potty, because he kept on kind of you know,
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: putting his legs together, putting his hands down there, showing
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: all signs that he did indeed need to body. But
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: his answer remained, no, do not need to potty. So
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: finally they asked someone last time, hey, do you need
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: to potty? And I abruptly interrupted. I said, no, JJ,
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: you can't go party. I'm going potty first. You can
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: go after me, and he was like no, I cant
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: get Oh you better beat me, Yeah, you better beat me. Competition. Yeah,
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: they ain't going.
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: Because as dads as parents, because dads are more often
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: seen as like the fun one. You gotta continue to
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: create because you're I'm already feeling that the times were
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: rus not into things I used to do, and I'll
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: annoy her, and then I see it as a challenge
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: like Okay, I'm gonna figure you out at some point,
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: and yesterday tap it into the forest choke.
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: I'm I almost see if this one works.
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: Because I'm not able to break her wall of like
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: having fun when I'm like tickle mass or I'm gonna
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: get it, get you or whatever it is.
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: Like, all right, she seems to be over that.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: How can I continue to make this fun?
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: Dads have to continue to create? Bro, Yes dude.
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: Also reminds me of oh yeah, we are. We are
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: running it. We're not out of time, but we are
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: cutting it close. We are cutting it close.
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: Okay, gotta keep it under an hour.
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: Gotta keep onder an hour. I'll sho. I'll save the
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: story that I was gonna tell for another.
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: Sude, you don't want to tell it.
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: My mom used to when we were leaving for school.
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: We had really bad attitudes in the morning, and so
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: to make us excited for school, we weren't allowed to
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: drive out of the driveway until she made a shot
- 1:38:26Speaker 3: in the driveway basket like basketball hoop. And it was
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: really it did make like mornings really fun because she
- 1:38:33Speaker 3: would like purposely miss like the first three times. We'd
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: be like, Mom, make it, we're gonna be late to school,
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: so I'm trying. I'm trying. It's fun. It was. It
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: was a good little like you guys, uh huh to.
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: Get her going a motivator. You know we're gonna be late.
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we do it.
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: Mom, shut up, shut up, Mama, shut up, Mama, sure, shut.
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: Out, Miss Amy. This okay. So six on one the Dads.
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: Yes, we had the dads one, the Dad's.
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: Six on one the Dads. Make sure you call in.
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: We will play your call in on the episode. We'll
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: interact with it. We'll answer if it's a question, if
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: it's a funny story, we'll talk about it, and you
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: will receive free for the Dad's merch. Excuse me. If
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: you were selected for the show, and if you're an
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: international listener, six o Onethedads at gmail dot.
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: Com, write us an email, yes, write.
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: Us email, And that's where these emails have been coming from.
- 1:39:29Speaker 9: Have been coming from that, just to call out to
- 1:39:31Speaker 9: for everybody. I got a DM on X from a
- 1:39:33Speaker 9: gentleman saying should I send this here or the email?
- 1:39:36Speaker 9: We listen to everything. If you have a longer story,
- 1:39:37Speaker 9: feel free to email it. We sit down with the
- 1:39:39Speaker 9: emails and kind of go through. I know that X
- 1:39:41Speaker 9: is a little tough there, so longer stories feel free
- 1:39:43Speaker 9: to email. For local but international, Yes, six on one,
- 1:39:46Speaker 9: I like that.
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: That's a good call. All right, here's our first caller. Uh,
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: this one's bleeped out. It looks like it says sleeping motherfucker.
- 1:39:58Speaker 7: So what's our boys?
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: Will?
- 1:40:00Speaker 7: I love the show, Papa Team six remember here. Just
- 1:40:04Speaker 7: call it T dubs from from Oregon. I've got a
- 1:40:08Speaker 7: motherfuck story for you guys, from the birthing of my daughter.
- 1:40:13Speaker 7: Kind of keep it short and sweet. We'd had a
- 1:40:15Speaker 7: long delivery process. She was induced at like noon, and
- 1:40:23Speaker 7: we didn't sleep the night before. We'd been up all
- 1:40:26Speaker 7: night and it was like two in the morning and
- 1:40:30Speaker 7: I had just gone down to the vending.
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: Machine to get some snacks.
- 1:40:33Speaker 7: I came back, had my snacks, and I was on
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: the couch where I actually earned my my my couch stripes,
- 1:40:42Speaker 7: laying on the couch. I dozed off and I was
- 1:40:46Speaker 7: awoken by the nurses telling my wife to remember to
- 1:40:51Speaker 7: breathe and push, breathe and push, and I woke up
- 1:40:56Speaker 7: like I was getting shot at.
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: I woke up.
- 1:40:59Speaker 7: I jumped up and I ran over there, and the
- 1:41:03Speaker 7: nurses were fucking with me because I had fallen asleep
- 1:41:06Speaker 7: on the couch for like an hour. And I, needless
- 1:41:10Speaker 7: to say, I was up until like five fifty when
- 1:41:15Speaker 7: my daughter was born. I was up the next day
- 1:41:17Speaker 7: until by eight o'clock that night. But I love the show, guys.
- 1:41:22Speaker 7: I appreciate all the tips. You guys are really hitting
- 1:41:25Speaker 7: home on some of these, So just keep up the
- 1:41:27Speaker 7: good work and remember to take the trash out.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: Oh dude, I love that. That is funny.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: That Yeah, that's tough for tea, but totally fair.
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: That's awesome, dude.
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: Those nurses are hilarious.
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: Nurses your wife like, let's fuck with him. Look at
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: him over there, snoozing.
- 1:41:46Speaker 3: Sleep and motherfucker, he thinks he has it hard.
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: That's funny.
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: Do we have time for one more? Yeah? Yeah, it's
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: hit his se Uh. This is oh solo mission trial run.
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: It's applicable for this week.
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: Hey boys, it's Stu pop a Team six coming this Friday.
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: Just listening to the pod. Yeah, got a dad hack.
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: So I'm a private in training and I made a mistake.
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: I was ready, bags packed, car seat installed, all that.
- 1:42:28Speaker 4: Mama's carrying a little extra amnionic fluid, so we monitor
- 1:42:31Speaker 4: it multiple times a week.
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: Baby is good, So good. Had a scare earlier this.
- 1:42:38Speaker 4: Week though, thought it was the time, so we rushed
- 1:42:42Speaker 4: to the hospital. To my surprise, parking garage under construction
- 1:42:48Speaker 4: and closed.
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: It's midnight.
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: Oh second, parking garage required you to go across this
- 1:42:55Speaker 4: stupid skydeck through a maze of elevators up, one elevator down,
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: a all down an elevator. So once across the sky deck,
- 1:43:04Speaker 4: certain hallways close.
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: At eleven pm.
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: Oh good.
- 1:43:08Speaker 4: Finally ended up making it to the maternity ward. But
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: my dad hack is do a trial run, yes, specifically
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: a solo.
- 1:43:21Speaker 10: Mission if you want to look like a true hero,
- 1:43:25Speaker 10: so you don't deal with amazing issues before the big moment.
- 1:43:28Speaker 10: He's no idea that this hospital is under construction.
- 1:43:32Speaker 4: But don't want any dads to have to go through
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: what I went through. But everything is good.
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: Love y'all, Love the pod. What was his name, Stu, Stu,
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: shout out Stu for that. That's that's real game.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: If I was, if I had hit buds training and
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: I'm becoming a PT sixer, yeah in due time.
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: If I were to have heard that Dad hack that
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: is one that you are locking that one in the chamber,
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: and I would have been running a.
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: Solo Dad mission. I had no clue.
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: Yes, I wouldn't even been aware to do something like
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: that if not for a phone call like that. So
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: any expecting father's dad is PT six game right their
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: shoutout Stu.
- 1:44:12Speaker 3: Stu just set the bar for privates. By the way,
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: he's not even PT six yet. Yeah, Stu's kind of
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: locked in.
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: He's locked in because he's already given game learning from
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: mistakes when he's not even a PT sixer, you know
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: what I mean, He's giving his younger self game. Yeah, like, hey,
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: this is important enough. I want to share this with
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: some some incoming fathers.
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: Into Stu's point. Vandy here in Nashville parking Garage is
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: also under construction.
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: Thankfully Jill works at Vandy and was aware of that,
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: and we actually did a trial run as well of
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: Jill kind of you know, we drove by there. Hey,
- 1:44:51Speaker 3: we're gonna be parking here. Those are the doors we
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: walk in. Highly advise it.
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: Yeah, great games.
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: Do great games? Dou lesson topic or quote of the week.
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: I have one.
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: I have one as well. Mine's really shortened quote do
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: it Okay. I'm stealing this one directly from my therapist
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: because I thought it was an incredible metaphor. He was
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: talking about life as a plate at Thanksgiving dinner and
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: that you never want your plate at Thanksgiving dinner as
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: you're walking to the table to have food falling off
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: of it. Or let's say you go to the table
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: and you set your plate down and all you have
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: is turkey. There's no gravy, there's no mashed potatoes, there's
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: no green beans, sweet potato casserole. What's this guy doing?
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: Or maybe you just have a little bit on your plate.
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: It's like yo, it's Thanksgiving, like eat, like fill your
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: plate up. He was talking about that perfect balance of
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: all things that you have in your life. So like
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: you got your social life, which is like your green beans.
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: You got your let's say you're married or have a girlfriend,
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: that's your turkey. You got your mashed potatoes with your
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: kids and maybe some gravy. You have all these different
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: things you have your work life, which is like the
- 1:46:07Speaker 3: dinner roll. Yeah, you're gonna have everything on your plate,
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: but you want to have the right amount and if
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: you have too much of something, maybe cut back on
- 1:46:15Speaker 3: it a little bit. Just make sure we have everything
- 1:46:17Speaker 3: on our plate, but still have a full plate. Thanksgiving
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: by God. I just love that metaphor.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: Yeah, butter roll enough or get the gravy going enough.
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: That's a good one.
- 1:46:30Speaker 3: It's a good one. As soon as I heard it,
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: I was like, dude, that's so easy just to apply
- 1:46:35Speaker 3: to like anything in life. But I just love that
- 1:46:37Speaker 3: illustration of it.
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: So this.
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: Lesson topic whatever, This is a philosophy I came across.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: Great to stack on top of what you just said
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: as far as balance in your life.
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: Have you ever heard of the the.
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: Anchor before sales philosophy or the anchor in sales?
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: No, okay, this is great.
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: This was sales as in sailing or selling somebody.
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: Sales as in sailing. Say it sailing as aye out.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: So the metaphor of the anchor and sale, this is
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: a This is a powerful framework.
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: So It's like two essential forces.
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: Right governing governing your principles, your personal values like keeping
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: everything in check, keeping everything.
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: Sturdy before you get the sea.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: The anchor symbolizes governing principles, so self evident truth that
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: ground us during times of turmoil, while the sale represents
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: our personal values or the things we esteemed to be
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: of worth, which guide our actions and enable us to
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: adapt and grow in the face of change. So if
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: I formulate this around family life like for the dads,
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: like dads, because there'll be career mixed in there, you
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: can formulate this around anything in your life, but as
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: far as the for the Dad's brand pop a team
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: six family. Think of your life as a ship. The
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: sales are the opportunities, the career move, the career moves,
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: the yeses that propel you forward. Those are your sales.
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: They catch the wind and move you fast. But the
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: anchors the things that you've already chosen as your highest priorities,
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: like your wife, your kids, your family, your career, the
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: things that keep you steady. Without anchoring first, no amount
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: of wind will keep you from drifting off course. The
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: danger that a lot of us face is that many
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: of us raise every sale without checking the anchors. We
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: say yes to everything in career, hobbies, and obligations, thinking
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: it's all for the family. But if the anchors aren't
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: set first, if your wife doesn't feel seen, if your
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: kids only get the leftovers of your time, they don't
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: feel seen, your family doesn't feel seen, then all that
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: progress is just drifting. So the philosophy around this metaphor
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: becomes anchor.
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: First.
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: Schedule family time and wifetime as the non negotiables before
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: anything else goes on the calendar sail with intention. Every
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: career or outside commitment that you say yes to must
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: be weighed against those anchors. Does this opportunity strengthen or
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: train or strain what I've already chosen as the most important?
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: Live by the subtraction. So true priorities show up more
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: in what you say no to than what you say
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: yes to. A man who says yes to everything spreads
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: himself thin. A man who protects his no has the
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: strength to show up fully where it matters. This doesn't
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: mean you neglect your ambition or growth.
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: It doesn't.
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: It just means that your definition of success shifts if
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: the world praises you, but your wife and kids feel unseen.
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: You've lost the only scoreboard that matters. And anybody can
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: listen to this or think about this in a way.
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: If you have it for the Dad's brand, you're somebody
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: who's successful or ambitious, all of those things I have
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: an interest in, like I guess pushing a philosophy or
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: something that interests me that I think is correct. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: going back to the only scoreboard that matters. Reference and
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: to me, I sit there and think about anybody that
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: I latch onto admire in the world of success, hustle, grit, ambitious,
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: anything that has touched me indirectly or directly that I've
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: admired that I've taken bits and pieces from to apply
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: to my life and career and ambition. But everybody, bro
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: who gets to the end of their life that reflects
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: back on things that they wish they did more of.
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: It is across the board family time. Yeah, it is
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: across the board. They reflect on that scoreboard of things
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: that they sacrificed for this goal that they did achieve.
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: And everybody bro that you sit there and read about
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: or listen to that is reflecting on their success along
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: the way early in life where they're at now. The
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: thing that they always that they always talk about that
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: is such a common denominator is I wish I would
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: have played catch more. I wish I would I wish
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: I would not have complained about you know, my kids
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: wanting me to do X, Y and Z and I
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: kind of said no to him during that time. They
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: always talk about those moments, and that's something that I
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: very much have latched onto in recent years and something
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: that you know, as we've talked about lessons, topics, life
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: outside of podcasting, like all those things, I feel like
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: it's such a constant thing that I keep on at
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: the top of my mind on what to say yes to,
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: what to say no to, all of those things. Like again,
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: a great example where this weekend was a weekend in
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: the calendar when we were about to get in football
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: season and we're kind of, you know, juggling what our
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: routine is going to look like throughout the week, and
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: this weekend had popped up as like an open weekend.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: We've talked about it on four the Dads on like
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: looking ahead, whether it's family photos, shooting our shooting, our wives,
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: a message, Hey go get a latte, venmoing the money,
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: whatever it is, that we've done something that we wanted
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: to do. Is like, hey, where is a weekend to
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: where we can get away, whether it's for you know,
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: we're only doing it for what like not even twenty
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: four hours, Yeah, about eighteen hours to where it's like, hey,
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: we're gonna have mom and dad time because we feel
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: like two ships passing in the night a lot of times.
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: So how can we circle this weekend as like, all right,
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: we're going to build around this weekend. Anything that comes
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: up that could happen this weekend we're going to say
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: no to because we're going to spend time with each other.
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: So I came across this, this metaphor in philosophy, like
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: as I was doing some you know, scrolling around on
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: the Internet and everything else, this the anchor and sale
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: caught my eye, and then I broke it down to
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: like how can this apply family wise? Cause again you
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: can use this anchor and sale philosophy for everything.
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: It's like, if you want to go accomplish anything in life,
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: you want to first start at like who am I?
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: What am I?
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: What do I want to value? What am I going
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: to a prioritize? Like who do I want to become
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: those essentially are your anchors. So that way, when you
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: do set sail everywhere, you're able to weigh it down
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: and start first where your anchors are. So I thought
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: this anchor and sale philosophy was fucking all time, and
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: I was fired up to share when it comes to family,
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: the family stuff, because again it's somebody who is very ambitious,
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: who very much wants to achieve and accomplish, and somebody
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: who also very much wants to I don't want to
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: just say, you know the cliche of football, like growing
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: up with football is like faith family football. It's like, okay,
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: family and faith and all this stuff is in there.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: But really I'm always dialed in your boys, always dialed
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: into football. That's what I'm saying, Yes to everything football,
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: and not really I'm telling myself that all of this
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: is for family. All my ambition and everything that I'm
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: doing is for my kids, my wife, Like I go
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: and do all this and so we can have this
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: life everything else. But if you're truly going to be
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: intentional and prioritize, it's how do you spend time to
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: actually look at how family and kids and your wife
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: are a true anchor in your life, so that way
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: you do, you are protecting your nose when those do
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: come up. So I was obsessed with this philosophy. I
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: couldn't wait to share it.
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: I love everything that you just said, and you pretty
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: much just described like what I told my therapist my
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: very first time I met with him, this new one
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: here in Nashville. Of my goal yea, of like I
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: am meeting with you once every two weeks because I
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: want to I want the main thing to remain the
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: main thing, and I want to have this balance in
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: my life. I know that nobody has the perfect life,
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: but I want that accountability coach, somebody that I'm able
- 1:54:38Speaker 3: to like run these things by. And I love that philosophy.
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: Love that philosophy because my dad would be right there
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: with you with saying, you know, his biggest regret not
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: doing more family time. And I say that because he'd
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: be willing to share it, and I can see it
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: in the way that he interacts with Scarlett. He's just like,
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: oh man, uh so, yeah, dude. That gets me fired up.
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: Yeah, bro, because because you're right, there's no you can
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: talk about balance, but there's no such thing. It's balance,
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: is all right? How can you compartmentalize your mind to hey,
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: what is fucking.
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: Important to you?
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: Yeah, how do you dial in on each of those anchors,
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: each of those principles, each of those values, and how
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: do you get so clear to where you know what
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: you're going to reach out to go for on your
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: next move, or you know what to say no to. Yeah,
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: it's god, it's so crucial. That's that's truly, like it's
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: a constant conversation in my head.
- 1:55:41Speaker 3: And a good illustration of that to add on to
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: that picture. I was just having this conversation about like,
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: what what is it like being a dad chairman? What's
- 1:55:50Speaker 3: the question that was asked to me? And life really
- 1:55:54Speaker 3: is like a plate being balanced on a stick, where
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: like you're never going to achieve that perfect balance where
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: the plate stops completely and it's flat and everything's good.
- 1:56:05Speaker 3: There's always this just got at it. Now Scarlet can
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: walk and talk deal with that. Now she can reach
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: up and open doors, and we got to tell her
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: to stay out of certain rooms. My best friend just
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: did something that you know, betrayed our friendship. My boss
- 1:56:21Speaker 3: at work is a psychopath. Like I'm just making up examples,
- 1:56:25Speaker 3: but like the plate is always it's just like, how
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: are you going to react to those things to achieve
- 1:56:31Speaker 3: some semblance of balance, some semblance of like an even
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: keel to keep it on sailing.
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: Turn amen, bro, And to me, it's about you take
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: all the accountability and control that you are going to
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: find the balance of that plate. Yes, it's not the
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: external things that are happening, because that's that's constant. Happiness
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: is so fucking fleeting, bro, it's so fleeting. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: you're looking for things to make you happy, like it's
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: it's dude, it's you, Yeah, it's us, it's myself, it's disciplines,
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: it's things that are fucking hard. But in those moments
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: when you do find that balance, it's like how do
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: you again, taste it for a moment, but know that
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: that unbalanced, that something's gonna happen.
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: It's truly, it's all about It's all about how you
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: react to it.
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: And don't you don't have to be like this isn't
- 1:57:16Speaker 3: like a you got to be proactive, not reactive, like
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: you got to be perfect. You gotta have it absolutely. Yeah,
- 1:57:22Speaker 3: it's just like just be aware that things are always
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: going to be changing, and that your actions and reactions
- 1:57:30Speaker 3: are gonna tell the people in your life how important
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: they are to you, or the things in your life
- 1:57:35Speaker 3: how important they are to you.
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: Right in reconnecting, Yes, just constantly recredit reconnecting, because again,
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: where we all get off the rails, we constantly get
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: off the rails.
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: How do you get back to center? Yeah? It fires
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: me up, dude.
- 1:57:49Speaker 3: I love that philosophy.
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: Who was that a quote or so the art the
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: article I read, I'll have to find the article, but
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: it was talking about the anchor. It was talking about
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: like the anchor and the sale, and it was kind
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: of talking more like career based. And then I came
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: across one with like, you know, I'm looking in like, uh,
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: like the power of no. I always love the power
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: of no stuff. Ryan Holiday talks about that with like
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: family and everything else. So it was like a combination
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: of things that I'm like, you know, I was trying
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: to because it truly is a constant conversation in my
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: head to where I'll like struggle with it every time
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: I'm like tapping in, I'm like, all right, things feel
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: a little overwhelming right now. How can I lock how
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: can I you know, what's this bucket with my wife,
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: look like, what's this bucket?
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: With my kids? Look like?
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: Am I satisfied? Am I happy with what I'm doing
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: as much as I'm doing like with my kids? So
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: I need to be a little more intentional. Do I
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: need to take an hour or two? And it's just
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: me and Rue. We get out of the house and
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: go do somewhether it's a trip to target. You and
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: Charles going to the library yesterday with Rue and she's like,
- 1:58:45Speaker 1: do you mind if I pick room for school.
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: And we go to the library. Yeah, oh oh yeah,
- 1:58:49Speaker 2: Charles All Public Library. Yeah.
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: The library's got a lot of cool stuff for kiddos too,
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: like as far as like advance or story time, yeah,
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: things like that.
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: And she like, do you mind, you know, rocking with Scotty?
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, dude, absolutely, Like Scotty's a piece
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: of cake, especially if you're one on one with her,
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: Like she's a little ten eleven month old, She's just
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: a lot of fun. But I'm sitting there playing with Scotty.
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: It's like this is one on one time I'm getting
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: with Scotti. Yeah, because a lot of times it'll be
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: two on two, got the whole family together.
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: You can tell when we're.
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: All ready to pull each other's hair out at times,
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: and it's like it's just re checking in, like, Okay,
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: what is because I know I do a lot of
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: We do a lot of stuff here at the shop,
- 1:59:23Speaker 1: a lot of stuff at work. I'm constantly thinking about
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: busting with the boys and career and everything else. But
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: it's it's one of those things that where it's a
- 1:59:29Speaker 1: constant conversation with myself. Uh. One thing I wanted to ask,
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: how uh, how discombobulated do you get your mind when
- 1:59:37Speaker 1: somebody just randomly hit you with like what's fatherhood?
- 1:59:40Speaker 3: Like I do did? It's a fun question to answer
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: with people that knew me very well when I was
- 1:59:47Speaker 3: young because I was a absolute goofball, absolute menace, like
- 1:59:52Speaker 3: Sherman Young is a dad? What the fuck? Which I'm
- 1:59:55Speaker 3: sure you have friends there are like Will Compton's a dad. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:59:59Speaker 3: it loves it like what in the world? And so
- 2:00:02Speaker 3: I like answering that question. It is a hard question
- 2:00:05Speaker 3: to answer. But like we joked about when we started
- 2:00:09Speaker 3: this podcast of like your life is over, bro yea
- 2:00:12Speaker 3: life is over? It does feel like that because like
- 2:00:15Speaker 3: this morning completely revolved around Scarlet Sterling young. I did
- 2:00:21Speaker 3: not matter for the dads didn't matter. It was how
- 2:00:24Speaker 3: do we make sure Scarlett is safe for a two
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: hour window so that Sherman then can do his job
- 2:00:31Speaker 3: because we got to make sure Scarlet's safe. It's just
- 2:00:33Speaker 3: like having this thing in your life that is just
- 2:00:36Speaker 3: like I FaceTime my mom this morning and the camera
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: is on me for three seconds and it was like
- 2:00:42Speaker 3: a thirty minute call. She just wanted to look at
- 2:00:45Speaker 3: Scarlet and like I was my mom's whole world, and
- 2:00:49Speaker 3: now it's like Scarlet's her whole world, and I love it.
- 2:00:52Speaker 3: I take no offense, but it really is just kind
- 2:00:55Speaker 3: of like a death of self, I guess in a way,
- 2:00:59Speaker 3: which you your point as well to like bring it
- 2:01:02Speaker 3: back to your philosophy. That's what I'm really trying to
- 2:01:05Speaker 3: work on right now, aside from being a good dad,
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: good husband. It's like, hey, what are some selfish things
- 2:01:11Speaker 3: I can pour into myself that I do enjoy? So
- 2:01:14Speaker 3: I'm trying to like get back to my roots of
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: like hunting. I really enjoyed that soccer I grew up
- 2:01:19Speaker 3: playing that, I played it in high school. Want to
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: try and find like a men's league or something, so
- 2:01:24Speaker 3: I don't know. It's just like this constantly.
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm more so asked the question because if that,
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: if that question were to come at me, I feel
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: like I would get into a very uh, just talking
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: mode because it's not just right right, it's not. And
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: then like I'm driving afterwards, I'm like, man, what is
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: fatherhood like to me? And it's something like, you know,
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: we had the first the very first episode we did
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: on being a girl dad and everything else. It's like
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: things like that you think you think about it, It's like, yeah, dude,
- 2:01:53Speaker 1: it would be cool to have like a just a
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: foundational thing that I know I go to because it
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: feels so to explain until you're in it, you're like
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: death of self, but just it's like new life in
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: the best way.
- 2:02:07Speaker 3: Also new life that yes, it is a death of self. Right,
- 2:02:11Speaker 3: it's like this new chapter that's being written. Yeah, And
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: I was so scared.
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: I was terrified going into it.
- 2:02:19Speaker 3: I truly was. I was terrified. And now that I'm
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: in it, Jill's bringing up like let's have another blah blah,
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: and a part of me is like, oh shit, and
- 2:02:28Speaker 3: then the other part of me is like, oh dude,
- 2:02:30Speaker 3: we get to do this again. This is gonna be awesome.
- 2:02:32Speaker 3: We're gonna have to Yeah. So so Charle on the
- 2:02:35Speaker 3: two note Charo at the end of this month, she's
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: had a wild hair to want to take Rude of London.
- 2:02:42Speaker 3: She's taking Rud of London for like four or five days.
- 2:02:45Speaker 1: What yeah, yeah, yeah, that's so sick. Yeah, she's been
- 2:02:49Speaker 1: wanting to take Rud of London and do like a
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: mommy daughter girls trip. It was so funny when Rue
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: was kind of asking me about it. I was feeding
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: Rude dinner, Mom was mom was working, Scotty was playing
- 2:03:01Speaker 1: in the living room, had the barricade up on the
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: stair stairs, and I'm sitting there getting us some dinner
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: or roos eating a snackers. Something's going on to where
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: I'm sitting up there. Maybe it was breakfast in the
- 2:03:10Speaker 1: morning and Charli had left early for work and h
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: Ruth sitting there and she kind of like asking me
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: how I feel about She's like that, how you feel
- 2:03:19Speaker 1: about mama going to the airport? But Mama, Mama and
- 2:03:24Speaker 1: Rue get on the plane and dead dad Scottie stay home.
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: And she's like, because you're a boy, so you can't
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: you can't go now, I can tell she's like actually
- 2:03:34Speaker 1: trying to feel me out and see how I felt
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: about it. And I'm like, oh, are you talking about
- 2:03:39Speaker 1: a little girls trip? And then she's like thinking in
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: her head, She's like, oh, Scotty would come with us too,
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: because Scotti's a girl.
- 2:03:45Speaker 4: Dad.
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: Dad would stay home, though, how would that be okay?
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, of course that would be okay. You
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: going on a little girls trip. You'd have so much fun.
- 2:03:55Speaker 2: Would Rue come back? You know?
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: If that would make me sad if Rue and Mama
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: and everybody don't come back. She's like, yeah, we will
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: always come back, because we always tell her, like when
- 2:04:02Speaker 1: we leave, whether it's for date night or on a
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: trip or whatever it is, Dad and Mama we always
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: come back home. We'd always come back. And I'm like, dude,
- 2:04:09Speaker 1: of course, you'd have so much fun. That would be
- 2:04:11Speaker 1: be so much fun. I think it's just you and Mama,
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: she said, with Scotty's a girl too. I was like, well,
- 2:04:14Speaker 1: maybe Scotty's going. I don't know to talk to because
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: scharl and I talked about it, and I'm like, I
- 2:04:20Speaker 1: just dude, it makes me a little uneasy.
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: You guys traveling Uh.
- 2:04:24Speaker 1: Being that far away, I'm thinking, what you know, you
- 2:04:26Speaker 1: just think like Liam Neeson quod if something happened. But uh,
- 2:04:31Speaker 1: but anyway, she's taking Rue at the end of the
- 2:04:33Speaker 1: month to London for four five days.
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: I was like, would that be cool?
- 2:04:37Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, I feel like we have we have
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: the capabilities where I can be flexible and go do
- 2:04:42Speaker 1: a trip like this.
- 2:04:43Speaker 2: I wanted.
- 2:04:43Speaker 1: I've wanted to do it for so long, and I
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: feel like you can't do it because you got football
- 2:04:49Speaker 1: season and everything else. I'm like, dude, go if you
- 2:04:52Speaker 1: want to go and you feel like that would feel
- 2:04:54Speaker 1: fill your soul up and going with Rue like that'd
- 2:04:56Speaker 1: be so many awesome memories and you'd be able to
- 2:04:59Speaker 1: journal every day about it and have these core memories
- 2:05:01Speaker 1: with Rue like that'd be so sick and obviously of
- 2:05:04Speaker 1: rock with Scotti, like but my mindset having too and
- 2:05:07Speaker 1: knowing I'm staying home with Scotti. It's gonna be funny
- 2:05:10Speaker 1: when you have your second one and then you're on
- 2:05:12Speaker 1: a spot to where she's taking scarscar and you're rocking
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: back with the youngest. Your mindset because Scarlett's three months
- 2:05:18Speaker 1: old and you're talking about all these things. It's a
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: big fox whole moment and scoreboard everything else. But I
- 2:05:23Speaker 1: think about me rocking Scotty. I'm like, this is gonna
- 2:05:24Speaker 1: be the easiest. Oh, it's gonna be the easiest session
- 2:05:28Speaker 1: of my life because Scotty she's just you know, she's
- 2:05:30Speaker 1: just a little pup. Yeah, somebody told me the eleven
- 2:05:33Speaker 1: months old, Like, you know she'll be She'll have so
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: much fun with Ru's gonna be a blast to travel with.
- 2:05:38Speaker 1: But I feel like being one on one with Scotty.
- 2:05:40Speaker 1: I just think of it in such a way to
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: where whenever it was one on one with me and
- 2:05:43Speaker 1: Rue the first time when Rue was young. I'm thinking
- 2:05:46Speaker 1: of this overwhelming, like all right, I'm gonna handle it.
- 2:05:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna handle this. I'm gonna do that. And now
- 2:05:50Speaker 1: I'm thinking, since we have too, she's taking the oldest one,
- 2:05:52Speaker 1: I got the youngest one. Like, it's gonna be a
- 2:05:53Speaker 1: piece of cake with Scotti. But how sick is that
- 2:05:56Speaker 1: going to? Uh doing a little trip to London.
- 2:05:59Speaker 3: That's gonna be so yeah, I'm so sorry that I
- 2:06:02Speaker 3: checked out there at the end. Jill just texted me,
- 2:06:04Speaker 3: she said, are you home yet?
- 2:06:05Speaker 2: Twelfy three. You told her, you said twelfifty.
- 2:06:08Speaker 3: Five, right, twelve fifty five. So I'm gonna be there.
- 2:06:10Speaker 3: I'm gonna be there on time.
- 2:06:11Speaker 1: Did you take photos, selfie photos before you left the house.
- 2:06:15Speaker 3: Come on, man, come on, man, you know I'm at home.
- 2:06:19Speaker 3: Shake me out on Hillary. She loved Auntie Hillary. Oh
- 2:06:22Speaker 3: my god, send that. I'll send her a picture.
- 2:06:25Speaker 1: Yeah, baby, I'm home. Of course I'm home.
- 2:06:28Speaker 3: I'll send her a picture right now. I'll say, hey,
- 2:06:33Speaker 3: I took that earlier when we were recording.
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: Oh.
- 2:06:39Speaker 2: We love our wives, man, we do. We love our wives. Hey,
- 2:06:42Speaker 2: good sowed great?
