- 1:51Speaker 3: Shannon, let's get into it, my brother, let's do it.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So first and foremost, I want to start with this Coneyak.
- 1:57Speaker 3: You told me a story. You know, if y'all watch
- 1:59Speaker 3: it for a long time before Club Shay, shall, you
- 2:03Speaker 3: know that it was Black and Miles and it was Hennessy.
- 2:07Speaker 4: So how did this come about?
- 2:09Speaker 3: Because you said that Hennessy actually played a part in
- 2:12Speaker 3: this in a weird, unorthodox way, right.
- 2:15Speaker 2: They absolutely did.
- 2:18Speaker 5: I don't know how many you guys have followed me,
- 2:20Speaker 5: but when I joined Undisputed back in twenty sixteen. When
- 2:23Speaker 5: I would celebrate my team winning and skips team not winning.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I would come out with Black and Miles.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I would have Swishers, you know, Snoop would give me
- 2:31Speaker 5: some product, but I would come out with Hennessy. And
- 2:34Speaker 5: I asked them to be an ambassador for them because
- 2:37Speaker 5: I was giving them free publicity, doing ten fifteen million impressions.
- 2:42Speaker 2: And they was like, Okay, yeah, you're doing a great job.
- 2:46Speaker 2: We really appreciate it. We love what you're doing. We're watching.
- 2:50Speaker 5: And so now fast forward I think a couple of
- 2:53Speaker 5: years the Super Bowls in Atlanta.
- 2:56Speaker 2: They's like, oh, yeah, we really love what you're doing.
- 2:58Speaker 5: So I'm thinking I'm promoting their product Sue Bowls in Atlanta.
- 3:02Speaker 5: I live in Atlanta. I'm from Georgia. They're gonna invite
- 3:06Speaker 5: me to the parties. They're gonna make me an ambassador.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Not only do they not make me an ambassador, they
- 3:12Speaker 5: bring someone on as an ambassador that has never promoted
- 3:16Speaker 5: their product.
- 3:17Speaker 2: So I said, you know what.
- 3:20Speaker 5: Had this A couple of guys reach out to him
- 3:22Speaker 5: and says, have you thought about doing your own spirits?
- 3:25Speaker 5: I said, no, I haven't. They's like, well, what would
- 3:28Speaker 5: what would you like to do. If you were to
- 3:30Speaker 5: do a spirit, I said, Kanyak. It wasn't even in
- 3:33Speaker 5: my mind at the time that I was gonna be
- 3:35Speaker 5: competing against Hennessy. I just thought the the the tequila
- 3:39Speaker 5: market was oversaturated the wine market, that everybody had started
- 3:43Speaker 5: to get into the wine and so I felt that
- 3:45Speaker 5: if I got into the Kanyak space, it would be great.
- 3:48Speaker 5: It would be great. And fast forward, here we are.
- 3:51Speaker 5: We're taking off. We're the number number two spirits in
- 3:55Speaker 5: Georgia as far as sales, we're number one in Colorado, and.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So we're doing unbelievable.
- 4:00Speaker 5: We're gonna come out at the beginning of twenty twenty
- 4:03Speaker 5: five with a platinum edition, so we're gonna have two Kanyaks.
- 4:08Speaker 5: And I'm very, very pleased with where it's headed.
- 4:11Speaker 6: You have some incredible competition. Can you walk us through
- 4:14Speaker 6: what your plan is to make this brand number one?
- 4:18Speaker 5: Well, you know, Hennersy got a big head start on us,
- 4:21Speaker 5: and I won't ever speak down on the competition because
- 4:24Speaker 5: that's not.
- 4:25Speaker 2: What we do.
- 4:26Speaker 5: We feel that we have the best VSOP on the
- 4:28Speaker 5: market and what we've done, the process that we had
- 4:34Speaker 5: to go through to get through this as I was
- 4:36Speaker 5: telling him backstage, this is not the original bottle.
- 4:39Speaker 2: The original bottle that we came out.
- 4:40Speaker 5: With, the company that we were using with bankrupt so
- 4:44Speaker 5: they took a lot of our money with them, and
- 4:46Speaker 5: so we had to come out with.
- 4:47Speaker 2: A new design.
- 4:49Speaker 5: But what we feel, what we felt is that during
- 4:52Speaker 5: the pandemic, do you know how hard it was to
- 4:54Speaker 5: get stuff back and forth out of the country, you know,
- 4:57Speaker 5: getting you know, samples, Because when you put together Knyact,
- 5:00Speaker 5: people don't realize this. It has to originate in the
- 5:03Speaker 5: Connact region. It can't originate anywhere else. It has to
- 5:06Speaker 5: go through the process copper pots, wooden barrels, things of
- 5:09Speaker 5: that nature for at least two years. And so to
- 5:11Speaker 5: get the combinations of going back and forth and we're
- 5:14Speaker 5: gonna upload it eventually. What a Connact is because you
- 5:18Speaker 5: like a certain taste, because at the end of the day,
- 5:21Speaker 5: taste matters. But we want this Kangyact to win awards.
- 5:24Speaker 5: So me and my partners we went to Knyact. We
- 5:27Speaker 5: flew the Kanyac. Well, at first we couldn't do that,
- 5:29Speaker 5: but when we're coming out with this platinum, we flew
- 5:31Speaker 5: the Kanyac, spent three days over there mixing the products,
- 5:34Speaker 5: and we believe that we've come up with a great
- 5:37Speaker 5: the Platinum Edition, and it's binding right now.
- 5:41Speaker 2: So we mixed this in June. Hopefully we'll get it
- 5:44Speaker 2: here in.
- 5:45Speaker 5: The next month or so so we can taste it
- 5:47Speaker 5: and make sure is to our satisfaction and the people
- 5:50Speaker 5: that's gonna buy a product, they're gonna love it also.
- 5:53Speaker 4: So, okay, you have the most viral moment of our generation.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Make some noise for that fact.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Seventy million views on YouTube, Kat Williams. Right, Yes, let's
- 6:04Speaker 3: talk about this for a minute and a couple different manners. First,
- 6:10Speaker 3: i'd ask you, but I want you to hit tell the audience.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Did you know that when you did that that interview
- 6:15Speaker 3: right in your mind? Did you know like this is
- 6:19Speaker 3: a home run way out of here? We never looking back.
- 6:22Speaker 2: No.
- 6:23Speaker 5: I was just hoping to get ten million views, I thought,
- 6:26Speaker 5: because Steve Harvey at the time, he was my most
- 6:28Speaker 5: viewed conversation on my platform at eight million views, and
- 6:32Speaker 5: I feel if I can get eight to ten million views,
- 6:34Speaker 5: that was a great That was a great conversation, great interview,
- 6:36Speaker 5: whatever you want to call it. I just remember a
- 6:40Speaker 5: short story of how that came about. I got off
- 6:43Speaker 5: the elevators one Friday. I was in my attorney's office
- 6:46Speaker 5: and this black lady is getting on the elevator as
- 6:48Speaker 5: I'm getting off, and she said, hey, Shannon, how you doing.
- 6:51Speaker 5: I said, hey, how are you? I was like, ma'am,
- 6:53Speaker 5: do I know you? She's like no, She's like, I've
- 6:55Speaker 5: never seen you here before. I said, my attorney's here
- 6:57Speaker 5: and I've been coming here for like three or four years.
- 7:00Speaker 5: She said, wow, I never knew that. She said, today
- 7:03Speaker 5: is my last dad at work.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I said really, I said, so, what are you going
- 7:06Speaker 2: to do now?
- 7:07Speaker 5: Mind you I've had I've been trying to line Cat
- 7:10Speaker 5: Williams up for over a year. I don't know if
- 7:12Speaker 5: people know this, but Cat doesn't fly. He takes his
- 7:15Speaker 5: tour bust everywhere, so he's not gonna be in California
- 7:18Speaker 5: anytime soon. So I'm getting off, I'm getting off. She's
- 7:23Speaker 5: getting on. She explains, today's my last deal work. I said, so,
- 7:27Speaker 5: if you don't mind me asking, what are you going
- 7:29Speaker 5: to do? She said, I'm getting ready to be Cat
- 7:32Speaker 5: Williams's personal assistant. I said, really, I said, I've been
- 7:37Speaker 5: trying to line Cat up for a year. That was
- 7:40Speaker 5: a Friday. The following Friday, Cat was sitting on that
- 7:42Speaker 5: brown couch getting ready to do club shay shake.
- 7:45Speaker 2: That's incredible, And.
- 7:46Speaker 5: So I remember doing it and I tell people this,
- 7:49Speaker 5: and I don't know if you've heard it. Had we
- 7:52Speaker 5: had Cat miked up from the time he hit the door,
- 7:57Speaker 5: it had done one hundred million views because there are
- 8:00Speaker 5: a lot of people that he killed that it never
- 8:05Speaker 5: made the air because try Cat has already got me enough.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Cat has already got me enough trouble as it is.
- 8:14Speaker 5: And so I remember wrapping the interview and I look
- 8:17Speaker 5: back at my producer CJ. And he's shaking his head.
- 8:20Speaker 5: So I covered my mic. I was like, did I
- 8:23Speaker 5: say something? The Cat say something? What's going on? And
- 8:25Speaker 5: he's just shaking his head. He said, you're gonna break
- 8:29Speaker 5: the internet and people are gonna talk about this for
- 8:31Speaker 5: all twenty four and I'm looking at him like really,
- 8:35Speaker 5: He's like, Shannon, you have no idea. And so I'm
- 8:38Speaker 5: hoping for ten million, and we do twenty four million
- 8:41Speaker 5: in two days and needless to say, but you don't
- 8:45Speaker 5: know what's gonna be good. You're just having a conversation.
- 8:49Speaker 5: You're letting the and people like, well you being messy?
- 8:52Speaker 5: What guys did? I let men and women to come
- 8:55Speaker 5: on my show, and I don't listen to any other
- 8:58Speaker 5: interview they've done, so I'm not looking at them with
- 9:00Speaker 5: judgy eyes. I'll allow them to speak freely. I'm not
- 9:04Speaker 5: trying to cut them off. And that's why the interviews
- 9:06Speaker 5: go ninety minutes, two two hours, sometimes three hours, because
- 9:10Speaker 5: I'm not cutting them off and trying to redirect them
- 9:12Speaker 5: in a path I want them to go. You took
- 9:15Speaker 5: time to come on my platform, so I want you
- 9:17Speaker 5: to speak freely. I always ask all my guests, is
- 9:21Speaker 5: there anything you do not wish to talk about? I
- 9:24Speaker 5: believe the person that's sitting on my couch has a
- 9:27Speaker 5: good enough portfolio that they can talk their entire career
- 9:32Speaker 5: without their most embarrassing situation.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And so when Kat said I can talk about anything.
- 9:39Speaker 5: Monique Terry Crews, anybody that's been on my platform now,
- 9:42Speaker 5: there have been people that says, Shannon, I would really
- 9:45Speaker 5: like to stay away from this. No problem, You've been
- 9:47Speaker 5: in the business ten, fifteen, thirty years.
- 9:50Speaker 2: You're more than that. Detail cool, but it was unbelievable.
- 9:55Speaker 5: Cat and what I've told people this cat did for
- 9:58Speaker 5: me what television did for sporting events, because before the
- 10:01Speaker 5: television it was on radio. You can only hear it,
- 10:04Speaker 5: but now you could see it. Kat Williams gave me
- 10:08Speaker 5: an opportunity. People could see Club Shasha. Now they know
- 10:11Speaker 5: what I do and that people have to take me serious.
- 10:14Speaker 6: A lot of times we lead with our emotions. Can
- 10:18Speaker 6: you talk to us about the moment that you had
- 10:19Speaker 6: with Skip? If I were you, I would have jumped
- 10:22Speaker 6: on Skip. But I'm got you didn't. But can you
- 10:24Speaker 6: tell everyone here tonight how did you persevere through that
- 10:27Speaker 6: moment to lead you to now being a king of media.
- 10:32Speaker 2: It wasn't what he said, It was who said it? Gotcha?
- 10:37Speaker 2: You saying that my career is in starm Brady? Is
- 10:39Speaker 2: that fine?
- 10:39Speaker 5: I don't really know you like that. But Skip and
- 10:42Speaker 5: I have spent seven years together. There are certain things
- 10:45Speaker 5: that I believe. Just believe that there.
- 10:47Speaker 2: You work with somebody long enough, you know.
- 10:50Speaker 5: And for me, if I lose a debate, I lose
- 10:52Speaker 5: a debate, I'm not gonna attack anybody personally. It's like
- 10:56Speaker 5: anything you in a relationship. You have a disagreement, as
- 11:00Speaker 5: long as you don't make it personal. I think the
- 11:02Speaker 5: person can understand, well, I disagree with what you said.
- 11:05Speaker 5: And that's what really hurt me the most is because
- 11:07Speaker 5: Skip and I had been together for seven years. I
- 11:11Speaker 5: had protected him in situation when people tried to attack
- 11:14Speaker 5: him and I wouldn't allow it. And for that moment,
- 11:17Speaker 5: because he felt he was losing the debate, he felt
- 11:20Speaker 5: he could attack me personally. That's what hurt the most.
- 11:22Speaker 5: It wasn't what he said, it was who said it.
- 11:26Speaker 4: So that Cat Williams interview goes crazy.
- 11:29Speaker 3: You get seventy million views, were you able to ten
- 11:33Speaker 3: x the revenue as far as sponsorships and corporate relationships?
- 11:37Speaker 3: Because we saw it Call Me Daddy one hundred and
- 11:39Speaker 3: twenty million, We saw it Your Rogan one hundred million.
- 11:42Speaker 3: We see a lot of these podcasts getting you know,
- 11:45Speaker 3: these crazy multiples, but they're not black podcasts most of
- 11:49Speaker 3: the time. So I'm always interested to know how did
- 11:52Speaker 3: you with one of the biggest shows in the world.
- 11:56Speaker 4: How did that look like as far as.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Your brand partnerships, your revenues, your your ad dollars.
- 12:01Speaker 5: It well, you said ten x, try fifteen x. It's
- 12:08Speaker 5: been great. People know that people watch my podcast they
- 12:14Speaker 5: listen to my podcast. And that's what advertisers know at
- 12:18Speaker 5: the end of the day, who's watching, who's listening? They
- 12:21Speaker 5: you know, we have analytics that can tell you who's listening,
- 12:25Speaker 5: how long they're listening for, who's watching. Actually, Club Shay
- 12:29Speaker 5: Sha as far as more people seventy eight percent of
- 12:33Speaker 5: the people that watch Club Sha Sha watching on the television. Wow, really,
- 12:38Speaker 5: advertising sponsors, Hold on, you mean to tell me people
- 12:41Speaker 5: sit down and they watch this. They're not watching this
- 12:43Speaker 5: on the go. It's almost like appointment TV. You remember
- 12:47Speaker 5: back in the nineties when Martin and all those great sitcoms,
- 12:51Speaker 5: people made it a point, Oh, I can't go out tonight.
- 12:53Speaker 5: Martin is on, I can't go out tonight in Living
- 12:56Speaker 5: Color Zone.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I can't do this.
- 12:58Speaker 5: And so that's what people have made Club Shay shape
- 13:02Speaker 5: of appointment TV. Advertisers they see that, Okay, let me
- 13:06Speaker 5: see you, dick. Hold on, you mean to tell me
- 13:09Speaker 5: you're doing twenty million impressions, you're doing you're doing fifteen
- 13:12Speaker 5: twenty million views on five different platforms.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Okay, how can we help? And so that's what it
- 13:21Speaker 2: comes down to.
- 13:21Speaker 5: It comes down they want to know who's watching for,
- 13:25Speaker 5: how long, and how can you help them.
- 13:30Speaker 2: You're a hell of a hard worker, have been your
- 13:32Speaker 2: whole career.
- 13:33Speaker 6: For those who want to be in the seat that
- 13:35Speaker 6: you're in tonight, can you give them the truth about
- 13:38Speaker 6: how much work and how long it takes to become
- 13:41Speaker 6: the success that you are today. Because on Instagram it
- 13:44Speaker 6: looks like, hey, if I start a business and the
- 13:46Speaker 6: year I'll be famous, I'll be popular, I'll be rich.
- 13:49Speaker 5: But we know that's not the case. That's not the case.
- 13:52Speaker 5: I tape First Take on Mondays and Tuesdays. I tape Nightcap,
- 13:58Speaker 5: Sunday nightday night, Thursday night, Saturday night. That's six I
- 14:05Speaker 5: take anywhere between two and three shows of Club Shay
- 14:08Speaker 5: Shape a week, so that's eight to nine shows, sometimes
- 14:11Speaker 5: ten shows in a week. But I also have a
- 14:14Speaker 5: meetings with Laportier. I also have meetings that we're meeting
- 14:19Speaker 5: with companies about doing scripted and unscripted game shows, sitcoms.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Things of that nature.
- 14:26Speaker 5: So I'm constantly going and pray and stop, and it's hard.
- 14:30Speaker 5: It's draining on a relationship. And so that's the hardest
- 14:35Speaker 5: part is that what do you want to do? How
- 14:38Speaker 5: successful do you want to become? Because there's really no shortcutting.
- 14:42Speaker 5: There's really no secret. It's hard effing work, and look,
- 14:47Speaker 5: it's not for everybody. Some people says, well, I want
- 14:49Speaker 5: to balance, I want a family life, and I want
- 14:51Speaker 5: to That's fine.
- 14:52Speaker 2: I don't begrudge you for that.
- 14:54Speaker 5: But I'm trying to secure five generations and I'm starting
- 14:58Speaker 5: with me. So I want my kids, my grandkids, my
- 15:02Speaker 5: great grandkids, my great grandkids.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I want them not to have to worry about anything. Now.
- 15:07Speaker 5: I'm gonna leave them enough money. Now they if it up,
- 15:10Speaker 5: that's on them. But I am gonna do my part
- 15:13Speaker 5: to make sure my kids. My community I'm gonna give
- 15:17Speaker 5: I'm gonna give Savannah State. I'm gonna give them their cut.
- 15:20Speaker 5: I'm gonna make sure things that that's gonna help my
- 15:22Speaker 5: community flourish long after I'm gone. I'm gonna give them
- 15:25Speaker 5: their cut. That's my purpose. Now I finally understand what
- 15:29Speaker 5: my purpose is. For the longest time, I really thought
- 15:31Speaker 5: my only purpose was to play football, make sure get
- 15:35Speaker 5: my grandmother out of that raggedy house.
- 15:36Speaker 2: That was it.
- 15:37Speaker 5: But over the last several years, God has given me
- 15:40Speaker 5: a vision that I have a higher purpose than that.
- 15:43Speaker 6: Now this is black Eye so I got to ask
- 15:45Speaker 6: how you had a conversation in a relationship. I know
- 15:49Speaker 6: my purpose, but you don't have enough time for when
- 15:52Speaker 6: she wants to go out. Right, Ladies, y'all don't want
- 15:54Speaker 6: to be hearing that shit right, So how do you
- 15:56Speaker 6: have that conversation and still stay on your purpose and
- 15:59Speaker 6: manage to relationship?
- 16:01Speaker 2: As the Lord knows, I don't know.
- 16:07Speaker 5: That individual has to understand, and it's not easy. It's
- 16:12Speaker 5: really not easy, and it's not for everybody. Everybody says
- 16:16Speaker 5: they can be number two until they asked the call
- 16:19Speaker 5: to be number twos. Oh, I can do that, shut out,
- 16:22Speaker 5: That ain't no problem. I'm gonna support you.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Then all of a.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Sudden things happen. Okay, I get an interview. I got
- 16:29Speaker 5: to fly to town and I gotta get this interview. Well,
- 16:33Speaker 5: why you no, they don't work on your schedule. You
- 16:38Speaker 5: work on the talent schedule. So when Kat Williams or
- 16:42Speaker 5: Steve Harvey or whomever says I can do an interview
- 16:45Speaker 5: on Thursday to be and I can do it on Thursday, Okay,
- 16:50Speaker 5: I gotta get on the flight and I gotta go
- 16:51Speaker 5: down there Thursday. So now I gotta fly to wherever
- 16:54Speaker 5: they are, whether the interview schedule, I got to do
- 16:57Speaker 5: that interview. But my guy right here, my career, any guy,
- 17:00Speaker 5: he's got his kid. We got to set that up
- 17:02Speaker 5: because we got to do nightcap also, So it's really
- 17:06Speaker 5: difficult to have a relationship. But the question is what's
- 17:09Speaker 5: important to you? And right now, work is the most
- 17:11Speaker 5: important thing to me. And I don't I make no
- 17:12Speaker 5: bones about that. I don't make any apologies about that.
- 17:16Speaker 3: And you know that clip that you had, I really
- 17:18Speaker 3: resonated when you said that there is no balance.
- 17:20Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, there's no balance to greatness. There's no balance.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Anybody that tells you their balance to greatness, they're not great.
- 17:27Speaker 5: Look at Lebron James. Lebron James is a perfect example.
- 17:30Speaker 5: Savannah says, I didn't want to be in the public eye.
- 17:32Speaker 5: I want to support my husband and raise a family.
- 17:35Speaker 5: Look at anyone that's ever achieved greatness. Now I'm not
- 17:39Speaker 5: talking about now. I mean once you get seventeen twenty
- 17:42Speaker 5: thirty one hundred billion dollars, it's easy to sit back.
- 17:45Speaker 5: But ask them that question when they were growing that company,
- 17:49Speaker 5: as Jeff bezo Worth, their balance when he was taking
- 17:52Speaker 5: a losses for ten fifteen years on Amazon. Ask anybody
- 17:56Speaker 5: that's ever grown anything is their balance?
- 17:59Speaker 2: There is there's no balance when it comes to greatness.
- 18:02Speaker 5: And look, like I said, a lot of people says, well, Shannon,
- 18:05Speaker 5: that's not my life. I want to have a normal
- 18:07Speaker 5: nine to five. I want to see my kids grow up.
- 18:13Speaker 5: By golly, go do you by hey. I don't regret you,
- 18:17Speaker 5: and I'm not gonna judge you, judge you, but all
- 18:20Speaker 5: I ask is extend me the same courtesies that extend
- 18:23Speaker 5: you by not judging you.
- 18:25Speaker 2: You've been around a lot of greats.
- 18:27Speaker 6: Your brother of course, lay Ray, What are some commonalities
- 18:32Speaker 6: you see in those who are the greatest and sports
- 18:35Speaker 6: and now in media in terms of work at the obsession?
- 18:39Speaker 6: Tell me more you look at you hear stories Kobe Lebron,
- 18:45Speaker 6: Mike Jordan's all the greats Oprah, no matter who you
- 18:50Speaker 6: hear the term obsession when I talk to people that
- 18:53Speaker 6: that's in this space, mister beast and everything.
- 18:58Speaker 5: There's an obsession that comes along with being great. When
- 19:02Speaker 5: you come work, tell me what your passions are? Man,
- 19:07Speaker 5: You know I you can't work for me. You can't.
- 19:12Speaker 5: You got to be passionate about something. I don't give
- 19:14Speaker 5: a damn what it is, but I need you to
- 19:17Speaker 5: be passionate about something. I need you to be obsessed,
- 19:21Speaker 5: because what makes you jump out of bed. This is
- 19:26Speaker 5: what makes me jump out of bed. I was I
- 19:30Speaker 5: knew I was always gonna be great at whatever I
- 19:32Speaker 5: did because I loved it.
- 19:34Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 19:35Speaker 5: It's what made me like man, I can't wait to
- 19:38Speaker 5: wake up in the morning and go practice and go
- 19:41Speaker 5: play football.
- 19:42Speaker 2: I go to bed with that same passion. Man.
- 19:44Speaker 5: I can't wait to get up in the morning to
- 19:46Speaker 5: do first take. I can't wait to get up to
- 19:47Speaker 5: do night cap. I can't wait to see who who
- 19:50Speaker 5: did the booker's book this week for me to have
- 19:54Speaker 5: on Club Shayshaye. Yes, I love talking to comedians, but
- 19:57Speaker 5: I love talking to a lot of different people. And
- 19:59Speaker 5: I think the thing that's really helped club Shay shape
- 20:02Speaker 5: is that when you a lot of times people know
- 20:03Speaker 5: me from sports, but if you notice I don't have
- 20:06Speaker 5: a whole lot of sports.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Figure z. Yeah.
- 20:10Speaker 5: And so you got to be obsessed. I mean people
- 20:13Speaker 5: that work for me, they are obsessed. They know that's
- 20:16Speaker 5: the only way you can continue to work for me.
- 20:18Speaker 5: I'm not afraid to move on because the train's gonna
- 20:22Speaker 5: I'm the driver now.
- 20:24Speaker 2: If you want to ride, we go in places. But
- 20:27Speaker 2: I dropped your ass off.
- 20:30Speaker 3: You're one of the few athletes that have become a
- 20:33Speaker 3: strength more popular after sports.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:35Speaker 3: A lot of times people once their career is over
- 20:38Speaker 3: it they have like an identity crisis of trying to
- 20:40Speaker 3: figure out themselves. Right, how have you been able to
- 20:44Speaker 3: reinvent yourself and be more relevant after your playing career
- 20:49Speaker 3: than ever?
- 20:50Speaker 5: Because football was what I did, it wasn't who I am,
- 20:54Speaker 5: And a lot of times.
- 20:56Speaker 2: When athletes that's who they are.
- 20:59Speaker 5: They're a football play, they're a basketball player, and everything
- 21:02Speaker 5: they're fiber they're being is.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Tied to that.
- 21:06Speaker 5: That gave me an opportunity to get my family out
- 21:08Speaker 5: of that environment. But I always knew I was so
- 21:11Speaker 5: much more than that, and so now I just applied
- 21:15Speaker 5: the same skills, the same discipline, the same dedication, the
- 21:20Speaker 5: same determination.
- 21:22Speaker 2: The same obsession with I had in football to what
- 21:27Speaker 2: I do now and.
- 21:30Speaker 5: Starting out didn't make a whole lot of money in
- 21:32Speaker 5: the podcast because I read a quote the other day
- 21:35Speaker 5: that says, if you do more work than what you're paid,
- 21:39Speaker 5: you eventually be paid more than work that you do
- 21:42Speaker 5: a little, and so I took that.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I remember.
- 21:49Speaker 5: He says, if you work, if you work more than
- 21:52Speaker 5: what you're paid, you'll eventually get paid more than the
- 21:55Speaker 5: work that you do. I remember working the job twelve
- 21:59Speaker 5: hours a day, making five dollars. I remember catching chickens
- 22:03Speaker 5: a dollar one thousand, catching sixteen thousand chickens. I'm eight
- 22:06Speaker 5: years old and I'm a dollar one thousand dollar a
- 22:09Speaker 5: fous It was eight of us. It was like me,
- 22:13Speaker 5: my brother, four of my first cousins, and three other guys.
- 22:17Speaker 5: We go into a chicken house. We take a flash light.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Now we mind you. We work from seven until six o'clock.
- 22:25Speaker 5: We get an hour off for lunch.
- 22:27Speaker 2: We come home.
- 22:28Speaker 5: We played basketball. My uncle would come pick us up.
- 22:31Speaker 5: We worked for the clacking and portry plant. Nine o'clock
- 22:35Speaker 5: by he come pick us up by eight thirty. Eight
- 22:37Speaker 5: eight thirty. It's gonna take us an hour to get
- 22:39Speaker 5: to where we go. And we go into Blacksley, black
- 22:41Speaker 5: share of country. Places like that. We wait make sure
- 22:45Speaker 5: it's dark. So about nine thirty we open up the
- 22:48Speaker 5: chicken coop the chicken house, put a flash light turn
- 22:51Speaker 5: it upside down, and we come in start catching chickens.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Three in one hand, three in the other.
- 22:56Speaker 5: We'll clean out sixteen thousand, sixteen thousand chickens in about
- 23:00Speaker 5: four hours.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Go home, Get home at about one thirty in the morning.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Hey, get some sleep, go to school, or work the
- 23:08Speaker 5: summer job, because we did that year round. And so
- 23:12Speaker 5: I was like, man, this is what I tell a
- 23:15Speaker 5: lot of athletes and a lot of kids that I
- 23:17Speaker 5: talk to. Work a lot of different jobs when you're young,
- 23:20Speaker 5: because it'll tell you what you don't want to do.
- 23:23Speaker 5: If that thing is back breaking as a child, imagine
- 23:26Speaker 5: when you get twenty five, imagine when you get thirty,
- 23:29Speaker 5: imagine when you get forty. If it's breaking your back
- 23:32Speaker 5: as a child, you don't want no parts of that
- 23:34Speaker 5: as an adult.
- 23:35Speaker 2: And that's what it taught me.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Catching chickens, loading watermelons, baling hay, picking up pecans, clipping onions, tomatoes.
- 23:44Speaker 5: I don't want no part of that with no insurance. Oh,
- 23:47Speaker 5: if you don't work, you don't get paid.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Oh hell no. Real.
- 23:53Speaker 6: If there's any athletes in here tonight, can you walk
- 23:55Speaker 6: us through your formula for how much money you would
- 23:58Speaker 6: save versus how much you would spend.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I know you talked about this before, but what's the.
- 24:01Speaker 6: Ratio of how much money they should be putting away
- 24:04Speaker 6: for a raindy day?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Because rainny day has always come.
- 24:06Speaker 5: They're coming for me now. I spend very little money
- 24:10Speaker 5: on myself, my job in twenty eleven. I know you
- 24:17Speaker 5: guys are told I've told. I'll know you've heard the story,
- 24:19Speaker 5: but I want to tell it what you be, So
- 24:21Speaker 5: bear with me. My grandmother who raised me, she raised
- 24:24Speaker 5: my mom's nine and she took my mom's three and
- 24:27Speaker 5: she raised them as if there were her own. My
- 24:30Speaker 5: grandmother was in the nursing home. They came down to
- 24:32Speaker 5: do a story on me because I was going into
- 24:34Speaker 5: Pro Football Hall of Fame. And as the guy was
- 24:37Speaker 5: writing the story about we left and we went to
- 24:39Speaker 5: my high school, went to the old house, saw some
- 24:42Speaker 5: of the places I used to go as a kid.
- 24:44Speaker 5: So when we get back to the nursing home, my
- 24:46Speaker 5: grandmother is crying. So I'm going in the room first
- 24:48Speaker 5: in my the reporter is going to come in the
- 24:51Speaker 5: room and I'll stop it. So my grandmother's crying, and
- 24:56Speaker 5: I know my grandmother, she doesn't like to see. She
- 24:59Speaker 5: never wanted to see, wanted me my brother to see
- 25:02Speaker 5: her cry because she had to be strong because there
- 25:06Speaker 5: was no dominant mail figure in the house. My grandfather
- 25:08Speaker 5: died when I was eight, so my brother was a
- 25:10Speaker 5: dominant mail figure. So my grandmother was the strongest woman
- 25:12Speaker 5: that I've ever known. So she's crying, and I remember
- 25:16Speaker 5: going in the room and I got my grandmother in
- 25:20Speaker 5: my arms like that, and I'm holding my grandmother and
- 25:22Speaker 5: she's looking at me and she's just crying. I said, Granny,
- 25:25Speaker 5: what's wrong? And she's just crying. She doesn't say anything.
- 25:29Speaker 5: And it dawned on me why my grandmother was crying.
- 25:33Speaker 5: I said, Granny, you can go. I said, Granny, you
- 25:42Speaker 5: can go.
- 25:43Speaker 2: I got it. I say you and Papa raised me.
- 25:47Speaker 5: I got livid, I got spanky, I got my mama,
- 25:50Speaker 5: I got my kids. Go home, Grannie. Three days later,
- 25:54Speaker 5: my Grandma's passed. She just needed to know her baby
- 25:57Speaker 5: had it. So now my job is to make sure
- 26:02Speaker 5: Libby Sterling.
- 26:04Speaker 2: My kids, my mom. I got it.
- 26:07Speaker 5: This ain't about Shannon Shannon Good. I don't need another
- 26:13Speaker 5: new car. I don't need I might need some jewelry, though, Man,
- 26:19Speaker 5: I don't need another car. I want to make sure,
- 26:25Speaker 5: I said, Libby, that's my older sister.
- 26:28Speaker 2: She raised me.
- 26:29Speaker 5: My brother and sister. We got a very different dynamic.
- 26:31Speaker 5: My sister's eight years older than me, my brother's three
- 26:33Speaker 5: years older than me. But my sister took on the
- 26:36Speaker 5: mom roll. Because my sister gave me a bathroom, but
- 26:38Speaker 5: I couldn't bathe myself. My sister got me dressed when
- 26:41Speaker 5: I couldn't dress myself. The only person that I've ever
- 26:44Speaker 5: wanted to be like in my life was my brother.
- 26:47Speaker 2: See my grandfather.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Say, boy, if you got to look past this dinner
- 26:50Speaker 5: table to find a role model, you in the wrong
- 26:52Speaker 5: damn house. So everything that I saw, that's what I
- 26:56Speaker 5: wanted to be. So now, the man that that you
- 27:00Speaker 5: see before you today, the fifty six year old that
- 27:03Speaker 5: grew up with no indoor plumbing, no running water, seament floor,
- 27:07Speaker 5: send the block a thousand square feet, sometimes ten people
- 27:10Speaker 5: in the house, is a byproduct of what they did to.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Make sure I became the man that I became.
- 27:17Speaker 5: So my job now is to make sure everybody that
- 27:21Speaker 5: Mary Reporter was concerned about, and she couldn't go home
- 27:24Speaker 5: until she found peace knowing that her baby had it.
- 27:28Speaker 5: See I slept with my grandmother until I was fifteen
- 27:30Speaker 5: years old. I didn't get out of the bed with
- 27:32Speaker 5: my grandmother until my brother went to college. See, my
- 27:35Speaker 5: grandmother and grandfather didn't sleep together. My brother slept with
- 27:39Speaker 5: my grandfather. I slept with my grandmother. When my grandfather passed,
- 27:42Speaker 5: my brother slept in the bed by himself, and I
- 27:45Speaker 5: stayed with my grandmother.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I was close.
- 27:48Speaker 5: I didn't go out. We playing football game. I done
- 27:51Speaker 5: let somebody ask up, Hey, Sean, what you gonna do.
- 27:53Speaker 5: I'm going home to Granny. Got she home alone. We
- 27:56Speaker 5: played basketball game. I done drop thirty forty on somebody
- 28:00Speaker 5: to go home and take care of Granny. So that
- 28:02Speaker 5: relationship I needed her to know Granny I got it.
- 28:08Speaker 2: And once I said Granny, I got it, she was
- 28:10Speaker 2: able to go.
- 28:11Speaker 5: So now I wake up every morning knowing the responsibilities
- 28:16Speaker 5: that I have because I want my brother to go
- 28:18Speaker 5: to bed.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I got you, my sister go to bed. I got you.
- 28:22Speaker 2: My kids.
- 28:23Speaker 5: Now, this is what I tell my kids. I'm last choice.
- 28:27Speaker 5: I'm not first option. Said again, I'm last choice.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I'm not first option. That's good.
- 28:33Speaker 5: Now, I didn't send you to school to come say well, no,
- 28:37Speaker 5: I need you to figure it out.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Now. If you can't figure.
- 28:40Speaker 5: It out, I'm gonna let you struggle a little bit.
- 28:43Speaker 5: I mean, that's the whole purpose. That's how you learn
- 28:45Speaker 5: its struggle. But they've done a great job. Most of
- 28:53Speaker 5: my kids, my oldest daughters in HR, my youngest daughter
- 28:56Speaker 5: is in residency, she's a doctor, my son's in medical sales.
- 29:00Speaker 2: They've done a great job.
- 29:01Speaker 5: But I just need them to know I'm not your
- 29:04Speaker 5: I'm not your personal ATM.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I'm not your debit card.
- 29:08Speaker 5: You're gonna figure this issh out because that's what I
- 29:10Speaker 5: sent you to school for. That's what me and your
- 29:12Speaker 5: mom did. We raised your right you can figure this
- 29:15Speaker 5: thing out. And so for me now it's not about me.
- 29:18Speaker 5: I spend very little money on myself other than overhead
- 29:22Speaker 5: because you know, obviously, when you run a company and
- 29:24Speaker 5: you got people that have where you have responsibility, you
- 29:26Speaker 5: have employees that you set up with for one kid,
- 29:29Speaker 5: and healthcare is things of that nature. But right now
- 29:33Speaker 5: I just want my I want my brother, my sister,
- 29:35Speaker 5: my mom, my kids. I want them to go to
- 29:37Speaker 5: bed and never ever have to worry about a bill
- 29:40Speaker 5: clapping her for that.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Before we leave, I just want I want to ask you,
- 29:44Speaker 3: cause you know, you get a lot of love, but
- 29:46Speaker 3: you get some hate too. Yeah, and everybody gets hate,
- 29:51Speaker 3: and some people deal it in different ways. How are
- 29:54Speaker 3: you able to navigate the you know, the hate, the
- 29:59Speaker 3: little sneak this in, stay focused and block out the noise.
- 30:04Speaker 3: It was difficult because I had never gotten this kind
- 30:08Speaker 3: of vitrioll. You know, when you play a professional sport,
- 30:11Speaker 3: you know the opposing team's fan base is gonna help
- 30:13Speaker 3: you hate you because you one of their good You
- 30:15Speaker 3: want of the better players on the team that they're facing.
- 30:17Speaker 2: So I got that, but this all of a sudden,
- 30:22Speaker 2: you know, the lies. I don't post a whole.
- 30:26Speaker 5: Lot of my I don't really post personal life because
- 30:29Speaker 5: I believe if you date privately, you can break up privately.
- 30:33Speaker 5: If you date publicly, you got to break up because
- 30:36Speaker 5: when you post all that they gonna see. Oh, she
- 30:39Speaker 5: unfollowed him, He unfollowed her, So now everybody's in your business.
- 30:45Speaker 5: I don't post anything that I don't want you to see.
- 30:49Speaker 5: So I don't post any relationship because I don't want
- 30:51Speaker 5: you to know whether or not I'm in a relationship.
- 30:54Speaker 5: And so the problem that I have is that people lie,
- 30:57Speaker 5: and people start to believe that repetitions of a lie
- 30:59Speaker 5: is the truth, and people will tell a lie so
- 31:02Speaker 5: much others will start.
- 31:04Speaker 2: To tell that lie.
- 31:04Speaker 5: For him, that's a fact that what's happened. Oh he's gay,
- 31:13Speaker 5: Oh he did this. Oh he's messy. Oh he's Wendy Williams.
- 31:18Speaker 5: I hope I can have a career as long as
- 31:20Speaker 5: Wendy Williams. Hopefully she get better. She's not in the
- 31:23Speaker 5: best help. But Wendy was great at what she did.
- 31:27Speaker 5: We having a conversation. I asked you a question. You
- 31:29Speaker 5: tell me how am I being messy? I asked him
- 31:31Speaker 5: a question.
- 31:32Speaker 2: He told me facts.
- 31:36Speaker 5: But the problem is, it's not that I'm messy. It's
- 31:39Speaker 5: that kat Williams elevated me to a place that they're not.
- 31:44Speaker 2: That's what that's about. So I had to learn.
- 31:50Speaker 5: My sister, who's a lot more religious than I am.
- 31:54Speaker 5: She's like, Shannon, you cannot fight every battle. Let God
- 32:01Speaker 5: handle it. So while they sneak this'n the money piling
- 32:07Speaker 5: up and talk to talk to me, y'allna talk about
- 32:11Speaker 5: our message.
- 32:12Speaker 2: But oh you didn't what, Oh you didn't make this?
- 32:17Speaker 5: I'm like, what I don't understand is that if you
- 32:20Speaker 5: notice on my platform Nightcap or club Shaysha, I never
- 32:24Speaker 5: mentioned anybody else. I don't mention what you're doing because
- 32:28Speaker 5: I don't care, because you're not my competition.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I am.
- 32:32Speaker 5: When I walked, when I laid my head on that
- 32:34Speaker 5: pill at night, I know I did the best job
- 32:37Speaker 5: I did, could could have done. Interview in the said individual,
- 32:40Speaker 5: I know I done the best job I could. Oh
- 32:43Speaker 5: Joe and I doing Nightcap.
- 32:45Speaker 2: That's it.
- 32:46Speaker 5: I don't like, I'm not taking a shot at you, bro,
- 32:48Speaker 5: especially if you look like me, because I want you
- 32:51Speaker 5: to get money too.
- 32:53Speaker 2: We all tried. They're a pool of money out here,
- 32:57Speaker 2: and we all can get some of it.
- 33:00Speaker 5: But what I've learned is that is that they they
- 33:05Speaker 5: they gonna get theirs, but they just don't want me
- 33:06Speaker 5: to get any I'm like, bro, if I get five dollars,
- 33:10Speaker 5: I didn't take anything from you, because there's a good
- 33:13Speaker 5: chance those advertising and sponsors wanted someone different than yourself.
- 33:17Speaker 5: And that's okay. But that's that was the hardest thing,
- 33:22Speaker 5: is to like turn the other cheek and to let
- 33:27Speaker 5: it slide, because you know, people they were like they
- 33:33Speaker 5: people would disguise their true feelings and jokes. You gotta
- 33:37Speaker 5: be careful and what I've got And I told you
- 33:39Speaker 5: a lot of hating them jokes. Hey, and I said,
- 33:43Speaker 5: what is joke to you is death to someone else.
- 33:48Speaker 5: I say, so while you trying to you, trying to
- 33:50Speaker 5: be slick with it, I say, bro, don't do that.
- 33:54Speaker 5: I said, Now, if you saw me, you and not
- 33:56Speaker 5: having a conversation, you gonna walk up to me and
- 33:58Speaker 5: say what you said on your podcast. If not likely,
- 34:02Speaker 5: if you can't do that, why you saying it on
- 34:04Speaker 5: your podcast because you got the security the protection of
- 34:08Speaker 5: the security screen. So I'm saying, all these people that
- 34:11Speaker 5: said what they said, if you saw me in public,
- 34:15Speaker 5: you're gonna walk on to me and say what you're saying.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Come on with it.
- 34:18Speaker 6: Given this fall from grace, do you feel bad for
- 34:21Speaker 6: a Skip or did you use that tumultuous moment to
- 34:24Speaker 6: rise and just check ass after that?
- 34:26Speaker 2: Come on, be with me.
- 34:29Speaker 5: The way I grew up, the way my grandmother raised
- 34:33Speaker 5: me and my grandfather for the first eight years, but
- 34:35Speaker 5: my grandmother raised me.
- 34:39Speaker 2: I felt.
- 34:41Speaker 5: That I could be successful and Skip could be successful. Okay,
- 34:47Speaker 5: I just realized we can no longer be successful together.
- 34:51Speaker 5: It's not that I don't want him to eat. It's
- 34:53Speaker 5: just that he and I'm not gonna eat off the
- 34:55Speaker 5: same plate anymore.
- 34:56Speaker 2: I love it. Eat whatever comes to you. I want you.
- 35:00Speaker 5: I want Skip to be successful. I appreciate the opportunity.
- 35:04Speaker 2: That he gave me.
- 35:05Speaker 5: But my grandfather told me something when I was very
- 35:07Speaker 5: very young. He say, boy, don't be a slave to loity.
- 35:11Speaker 5: And sometimes again, don't be a slave to loyalty. Sometimes
- 35:17Speaker 5: sometimes you ever noticed people to do things for you,
- 35:20Speaker 5: and all they do is constantly remind you of it.
- 35:22Speaker 2: So why the hell you do it? If you need
- 35:24Speaker 2: to constantly remind me of what you've done for me?
- 35:28Speaker 5: And so I don't want I didn't want people to
- 35:30Speaker 5: think that I'm ungrateful for the opportunity that Skip gave me,
- 35:34Speaker 5: because he did give him an opportunity. He went to
- 35:37Speaker 5: bat for me because there was some Fox execs that
- 35:39Speaker 5: didn't think I could do what I did.
- 35:43Speaker 2: And so I will forever, forever be indebted to him
- 35:47Speaker 2: for what he did.
- 35:48Speaker 5: But I had refused to be no longer be indebted
- 35:54Speaker 5: to lority, And sometimes that's what happens. I will Skipped
- 35:58Speaker 5: the best I haven't taught off the Skip since I
- 36:01Speaker 5: left undisputed. As a matter of fact, I haven't talked
- 36:04Speaker 5: to anybody in upper management since I left.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I'm still cool with Wardrobe. I'm still cool.
- 36:10Speaker 5: I can go name or name of everybody that I
- 36:13Speaker 5: had conversations with my main eight years. I didn't really interact. Look, guys,
- 36:20Speaker 5: I'm a type of guy. I come to work, I
- 36:21Speaker 5: go home. Yeah, I would get to work an X
- 36:24Speaker 5: amount of time. You can sit your block clock by me.
- 36:29Speaker 5: Now I needed to be at that light. Why it
- 36:32Speaker 5: is green, so I can make that right. Because if
- 36:34Speaker 5: I didn't, I was gonna get stuck at the light,
- 36:36Speaker 5: and I was gonna be at the job three more minutes.
- 36:38Speaker 5: I didn't try to trying to get that light. I
- 36:40Speaker 5: come in, I do my job, I undress, hang my
- 36:43Speaker 5: clothes up.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 36:45Speaker 5: I got to get home, get back to the dogs,
- 36:47Speaker 5: feed them, let them out, get ready to go work out.
- 36:50Speaker 5: So now I have no ill will to ward Skip.
- 36:54Speaker 5: I'm sure one day we'll cross pass. Absolutely, we'll sit
- 36:58Speaker 5: down and we'll have a conversation. Because but we had
- 37:02Speaker 5: a great seven year run. We had a great, great
- 37:05Speaker 5: seven year run, and it came to an end. And
- 37:08Speaker 5: am I sad about that? Yes, I'm sad how it ended,
- 37:13Speaker 5: not that it ended how. But like I said, I'm
- 37:17Speaker 5: sure one day we'll cross pass and we'll talk about
- 37:20Speaker 5: the great times. But I just refuse anything, even relationship
- 37:25Speaker 5: with skipped, or even a personal relationship. I was in
- 37:28Speaker 5: a relationship for ten years. The last year and a
- 37:31Speaker 5: half wasn't great, but I won't allow the last year
- 37:35Speaker 5: and a half to ruin the previous eight and a half.
- 37:38Speaker 5: So I won't allow five six months of skipping. I
- 37:42Speaker 5: we going back and forth and it got to the
- 37:44Speaker 5: point that we needed to be separated. I won't allow
- 37:46Speaker 5: that to ruin the great times that we had because
- 37:48Speaker 5: I think we did great TV and he gave me
- 37:51Speaker 5: an opportunity. Laportier doesn't happen, Club Shaysha doesn't happen. A
- 37:55Speaker 5: lot of the things that's going on positive in my
- 37:57Speaker 5: life doesn't happen with out him. Some of the people
- 38:01Speaker 5: that I've met doesn't happen without him. So I'm forever
- 38:05Speaker 5: grateful for this opportunity they gave me. But we needed
- 38:09Speaker 5: to go out separate ways. Oh, I want to thank
- 38:11Speaker 5: you for your time. Before we leave, Can you just
- 38:13Speaker 5: share some last departing words. A lot of people in
- 38:16Speaker 5: here are entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs, hustlers.
- 38:19Speaker 4: Before you leave, you want to just leave them with
- 38:21Speaker 4: some words of encouragement.
- 38:22Speaker 5: Yes, guys, don't let someone tell you what can't be
- 38:28Speaker 5: done because.
- 38:30Speaker 2: They can't do it.
- 38:32Speaker 5: And see a lot of times you have to be
- 38:34Speaker 5: careful what you share with people because sometimes you're educating
- 38:38Speaker 5: the enemy. Say it again, Please be careful what you
- 38:42Speaker 5: tell people. Sometimes you're educating the enemy. Sometimes people will
- 38:46Speaker 5: try to talk you out of your blessing because it's
- 38:50Speaker 5: not potentially meant for them. You see a lot of
- 38:54Speaker 5: times people will sink your boat because they can't be
- 38:57Speaker 5: the captain.
- 38:59Speaker 2: It's a fact.
- 39:00Speaker 5: So you mean to tell me because I won't let
- 39:02Speaker 5: you drive, you gonna sink the whole damn ship.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Yep, that's what I mean. I'll sink it. And so
- 39:09Speaker 2: for me, my circle is my circle.
- 39:14Speaker 5: That's why there's so much speculation because nobody outside of
- 39:18Speaker 5: my circle really knows what Shannon does.
- 39:20Speaker 2: And you got to keep things private. You have to.
- 39:23Speaker 5: And I know sometimes you want to share your happiness,
- 39:28Speaker 5: but everybody ain't happy for you. Oh you having too
- 39:32Speaker 5: much fun? Oh, you making too much, You doing too much.
- 39:34Speaker 2: No, I'm not.
- 39:36Speaker 5: I used to block people all the time. You say
- 39:38Speaker 5: something slick, I will block you. I stop blocking people.
- 39:41Speaker 2: You know why. I want them to see these blessings,
- 39:46Speaker 2: all these blessing God give it me. You need to
- 39:48Speaker 2: see it. I want you to see you upset now,
- 39:51Speaker 2: but I want you to be bitter. I want you
- 39:53Speaker 2: to be sack. So six years.
- 39:56Speaker 5: Guys, your dreams can be your reality if that's what
- 40:03Speaker 5: you choose to be, but you have to be obsessed
- 40:06Speaker 5: with it. You can't have step. It's no nine to five.
- 40:11Speaker 5: If you were what person you know became ultra richid
- 40:16Speaker 5: working at nine to five, you don't work a salary
- 40:20Speaker 5: if that's what you want. Now, some people all I
- 40:22Speaker 5: want to do. I want a nine to five. I'm
- 40:24Speaker 5: cool with that. But me, I got tired of getting fired.
- 40:30Speaker 5: Y'all can't fire me from club shayshit. Y'all can't fire
- 40:32Speaker 5: me from not Cap because I own it. So if
- 40:35Speaker 5: that's what you want to do, if you want to
- 40:37Speaker 5: be a business owner, nine to five ain't gonna cut it.
- 40:41Speaker 5: You got to work longer than nine to five, and
- 40:44Speaker 5: you got to and I'm gonna leave you with this.
- 40:49Speaker 2: You got to want it more than they want don't
- 40:52Speaker 2: want you to have it? Oh said it again, that's
- 40:55Speaker 2: a fact.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Do you want it more then they don't want you
- 40:58Speaker 5: to have it? I wanted so much more than they
- 41:02Speaker 5: want me to fail. And people, oh, boy, you doing
- 41:05Speaker 5: so good and all the time, boy, I show hate
- 41:08Speaker 5: that he's doing that. Facts people, to everybody that smile,
- 41:12Speaker 5: it's not your friend. Everybody that dislikes you is not
- 41:14Speaker 5: your enemy. You just have to pick and choose how
- 41:17Speaker 5: you relate to and interact with people. But for me,
- 41:22Speaker 5: I know who I am because a lot of time
- 41:24Speaker 5: people have you convinced. I'm like, Damn, did I do that?
- 41:28Speaker 2: Did I say that? When didn see me? I had
- 41:30Speaker 2: to know that I did. I'm who I am. I'm
- 41:34Speaker 2: proud of who I am.
- 41:35Speaker 5: I'm gonna remain steadfast and who I am knowing that
- 41:38Speaker 5: I have a higher calling. But man, my sister told me,
- 41:45Speaker 5: says Shannon, do you think you could be as successful
- 41:47Speaker 5: as you are if you had more haters than supporters?
- 41:52Speaker 5: It ain't possible. It ain't possible. Pos So for me,
- 41:57Speaker 5: go get what you just go. No, you don't get
- 41:59Speaker 5: what you deserve. You get what you earned, So stop saying,
- 42:03Speaker 5: well I deserve No, you don't deserve anything.
- 42:06Speaker 2: What did you earn.
- 42:07Speaker 5: I've earned the right to be in this position by
- 42:10Speaker 5: how I've treated people in business. The number one ruling
- 42:13Speaker 5: business is what you need to know is relationships. If
- 42:18Speaker 5: you think it's anything else, you're fool of yourself. It's
- 42:21Speaker 5: about relationships because a lot of the things like, hey man,
- 42:26Speaker 5: they're at these companies, they're at FREEDO lay, they're at
- 42:28Speaker 5: this and that. They're like, you know what, I had
- 42:31Speaker 5: an interaction with you ten years ago, and the way
- 42:34Speaker 5: you treated me when I wasn't in the position that
- 42:37Speaker 5: I am now told me everything that I needed to
- 42:40Speaker 5: know about you as a person.
- 42:41Speaker 2: And that's why I want to do business with you.
- 42:44Speaker 2: I said. In fact the volume, Jamie Horriwitz was my boss.
- 42:48Speaker 2: He runs the volume. I want you. I know you're
- 42:51Speaker 2: hard working.
- 42:52Speaker 5: A lot of the people that I do business with
- 42:54Speaker 5: now I've had previous relationships with and they weren't in
- 42:58Speaker 5: the position that they are now. Relationships are the most
- 43:02Speaker 5: important thing in business, not money, relationships, because you can't
- 43:07Speaker 5: get to the money if you don't have great relationship
- 43:09Speaker 5: with people.
- 43:10Speaker 4: That's a good point, so make some noise for the
- 43:12Speaker 4: legendary snags.
- 43:15Speaker 7: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 43:18Speaker 7: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 43:22Speaker 7: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 43:27Speaker 7: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 43:31Speaker 7: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 43:34Speaker 7: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 43:38Speaker 7: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 43:43Speaker 7: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 43:46Speaker 7: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 43:50Speaker 7: are here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 43:54Speaker 7: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will
- 43:58Speaker 7: never return. But if you read using our CBP home
- 44:01Speaker 7: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 44:05Speaker 7: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 44:10Speaker 7: border and families.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Will be protected. Sponsored by the United States Department of
- 44:14Speaker 2: Homeland Security,
