Transcript
- 1:57Ron Meyers: It's a reminder that if you're drifting, it's time to choose direction.
- 2:03Ron Meyers: Let's get into it.
- 2:05Sammy Maloof: Well, I grew up in San Gabriel, California, and I was very fortunate to have two of the greatest parents that walk this earth.
- 2:12Sammy Maloof: And my father and my mother both, they owned real estate and stuff.
- 2:16Sammy Maloof: We had rental properties.
- 2:17Sammy Maloof: So we got to grow up being taught how to think.
- 2:20Sammy Maloof: And we gotta, we grew up in order.
- 2:22Sammy Maloof: Everything on everything in our house was order.
- 2:25Sammy Maloof: And of course, later on in life, I find out that order is the most accurate arrangement of things.
- 2:29Sammy Maloof: So unbeknownst to my sister, brother, and I, we were being trained daily, getting up, fix your bed, wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your hair, get dressed, get to a breakfast table, eat your breakfast, wash your dishes, dry them, and put them away.
- 2:42Sammy Maloof: So we were always taught the habit.
- 2:45Sammy Maloof: So we just we they decided that habit for us as a child.
- 2:48Sammy Maloof: And that habit carried on through our future and everything my sister, my brother, and myself done.
- 2:53Sammy Maloof: So growing up, I was a little bit of a terror.
- 2:56Sammy Maloof: That would just mean everybody out of this whole world, especially Christians, are gonna have a terror testimony.
- 3:01Sammy Maloof: But I was a little bit different.
- 3:02Sammy Maloof: You know, I grew up at a young age at fourth grade building a go-kart with my brother that did somewhere close to 80 miles an hour in the street.
- 3:09Sammy Maloof: Well, yeah, I tried to jump a golf cart over the watch and it didn't work.
- 3:12Sammy Maloof: As a young kid, you know, growing up, my father and mother, they never ever squashed our dreams.
- 3:18Sammy Maloof: They never forced us that you need to go to college, but they did encourage us to find our gifts and talents at a young age.
- 3:24Sammy Maloof: My father and mother knew that I was very mechanical.
- 3:26Sammy Maloof: Well, my dad was mechanical, you know.
- 3:28Sammy Maloof: He was my dad had garages and gas stations and hot rods before I was even born.
- 3:33Sammy Maloof: So then when we come along, my brother, sister, and I, my father and mother were already into real estate, rental properties, and they had rentals everywhere.
- 3:39Sammy Maloof: They seen at a young age that they had mechanical abilities were inside me.
- 3:43Sammy Maloof: So they never really forced me to do anything other than work in my talent.
- 3:47Sammy Maloof: So when the time came to go to college, I was out of high school, my dad says, What do you think about going to college?
- 3:53Sammy Maloof: So I had already been building race hot rods and street racing and making a lot of money and illegal street racing and bare knuckle barn fighting and arm wrestling.
- 4:01Sammy Maloof: So that's how I was making a lot of money.
- 4:03Sammy Maloof: And I told my dad, I said, you know, look, I really don't want to go to college, but you know what?
- 4:07Sammy Maloof: I will.
- 4:07Sammy Maloof: I went to college for two weeks.
- 4:09Sammy Maloof: And I listened to the teacher tell me how I'm gonna make a hundred thousand dollars a year.
- 4:13Sammy Maloof: So, me, being who I was, I raised my hand and I asked the teacher, how much do teachers make?
- 4:18Sammy Maloof: I mean, if we can if we're gonna make a hundred grand a year, you guys must be more making more than that.
- 4:22Sammy Maloof: He says, We make $36,000.
- 4:23Sammy Maloof: I go, you're gonna teach me how to make $100,000 a year and you're only making $36,000?
- 4:28Sammy Maloof: So my father and mother knew at that time I'm not gonna go to college.
- 4:32Sammy Maloof: So they we got a building.
- 4:34Sammy Maloof: My father, my mother and father, we bought this big building, and they said, Listen, I'm gonna give you six months to make it.
- 4:40Sammy Maloof: Well, at that time, I want to get into stunts, but I had just opened my shop, so I said to myself, I'm gonna give the shop seven years.
- 4:47Sammy Maloof: If I don't make it in seven years in a race car shop, I'm gonna go back to stunts.
- 4:51Sammy Maloof: Ron, you gotta remember I wasn't a Christian at that time.
- 4:54Sammy Maloof: We were raised Orthodox Catholic, but we had great principles and great honor and great respect for our father and mother.
- 4:59Sammy Maloof: And we worked at apartments our whole life.
- 5:01Sammy Maloof: We would go over there and do the yard work and paint and do roofing and plumbing and electrical.
- 5:06Sammy Maloof: And now in my life, I look back and I go, what a gift from God that was to work with my hands constantly to know where I'm at today.
- 5:13Sammy Maloof: I would never have what I have today if it wasn't working knowledge.
- 5:16Sammy Maloof: Now we fast forward to where I have my shop.
- 5:19Sammy Maloof: You know, if you're ever gonna make it line, you know, winners do the things they hate to create something they love.
- 5:23Sammy Maloof: Winners focus on what they're gonna go to, losers focus on what they go through.
- 5:27Sammy Maloof: That's what they never get there.
- 5:28Sammy Maloof: They have the win, they have the winning ability in them, but they got the loser excuse that trumps it.
- 5:33Sammy Maloof: At that point in time in my life, I was still street racing, I was still arm wrestling, I was still bare knuckle barn fighting.
- 5:39Sammy Maloof: And then one day I go to a place in Canoga Park called the Longhorn.
- 5:44Sammy Maloof: And I was gonna go there for one reason.
- 5:46Sammy Maloof: If I wasn't street racing, making I would make two to five grand a week in street racing.
- 5:51Sammy Maloof: If I wasn't making street racing money, then I would go out and arm wrestle or go to a bar and get in a bar fight for money.
- 5:58Sammy Maloof: Well, this one particular evening, I'm in this place called the Longhorn in Canoga Park.
- 6:03Sammy Maloof: I'm not gonna drink.
- 6:04Sammy Maloof: I just want to find a cowboy and maybe him and I can go outside and fight for a few dollars.
- 6:09Sammy Maloof: So I get to the bar and there's a table with a bunch of girls at this table.
- 6:13Sammy Maloof: I'm standing at the bar ordering a cup of ice, and these girls are laughing and giggling, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, they're talking about me.
- 6:21Sammy Maloof: All of a sudden, I'm looking to see who the big cowboy was.
- 6:23Sammy Maloof: And I get this tap on his shoulder, and I look back, and there's this really pretty brunette girl, and she goes, I'm one of the producers at KZLA radio station, country music, and I would like you to be my Christmas escort.
- 6:37Sammy Maloof: I go, I'll tell you what, man, when you sober up, tomorrow you give me a call, and we'll talk about this.
- 6:43Sammy Maloof: Well, Patty calls me.
- 6:45Sammy Maloof: And then she tells me when the Christmas party is, and she tells me she wants me to meet this guy, this morning DJ by the name of Ken Cooper.
- 6:53Sammy Maloof: He has hot rods.
- 6:54Sammy Maloof: So I take her to the Christmas KZLA radio station Christmas party, and we go inside, I meet this guy, Ken Cooper.
- 7:02Sammy Maloof: So we get to talk him right away, and he tells me, Oh, wow, I didn't know he had a hot rod shop.
- 7:05Sammy Maloof: And next thing you know, he goes, I go, Yeah, I go, maybe you can bring your car by sometime.
- 7:09Sammy Maloof: Monday morning at 11 o'clock, he calls me, goes, he goes, Sammy, this is Ken Cooper.
- 7:14Sammy Maloof: I met you last night.
- 7:15Sammy Maloof: I go, hey, Kenny goes, I want to come down and see your shop.
- 7:18Sammy Maloof: So he came down and seen my shop, brought his hot rod, and I'm looking at and I see a bunch of Disneyland stuff done on this thing, a bunch of goofy stuff.
- 7:25Sammy Maloof: So I said, Ken, this is all wrong.
- 7:27Sammy Maloof: He goes, you know, I've heard that from everybody.
- 7:29Sammy Maloof: He goes, everybody tells me it's this, the carburetor, this.
- 7:32Sammy Maloof: I go, so I told him, I go, let me do my things on this car.
- 7:35Sammy Maloof: I'm gonna charge you a diamond.
- 7:36Sammy Maloof: Tell me if it runs better.
- 7:37Sammy Maloof: And it flew when I was done.
- 7:39Sammy Maloof: So he was excited.
- 7:40Sammy Maloof: And every day, Ron, Ken would come out, and Ken would plant seeds in me about the Lord.
- 7:45Sammy Maloof: And then one day he's there and he goes, you know, Sam, he goes, You think you're tough arm wrestling and all the street fighting and street racing.
- 7:52Sammy Maloof: Now I'm thinking he's gonna get hurt.
- 7:54Sammy Maloof: But I just shut, I just shut my mouth.
- 7:56Sammy Maloof: And Ron, let me tell you something.
- 7:58Sammy Maloof: When the righteous man's footsteps are ordered by the Lord, the individual that he went to, not only does he want what he says, he needs what he says.
- 8:07Sammy Maloof: So I just sat there.
- 8:08Sammy Maloof: I knew I needed what this man was gonna tell me.
- 8:10Sammy Maloof: I just didn't know how.
- 8:11Sammy Maloof: I don't know nothing about Christianity.
- 8:12Sammy Maloof: It was a Catholic.
- 8:13Sammy Maloof: I went to church for two reasons.
- 8:15Sammy Maloof: Girls and your folks make you.
- 8:16Sammy Maloof: So Ken starts talking to me, and he goes, if you really want to know what power is, it'll hit you like you've never been hit.
- 8:22Sammy Maloof: I he grabbed my hand on the corner of San Gabriel Boulevard in London, and I repeated a prayer after him.
- 8:28Sammy Maloof: And the moment I repeated that prayer, something came out of me, and something came in me.
- 8:33Sammy Maloof: When I renounced Satan, the bitterness, the anger, the urge to be a street fighter, street racer, own my slur, go to bar knuckle fighting and all, it all left, instantly left.
- 8:43Sammy Maloof: And when Christ came in, I'll tell you something, I just wanted to hold everybody and love them and take care of them.
- 8:50Sammy Maloof: In one hundred of a second, I was transformed.
- 8:53Sammy Maloof: And at that time, Ken started mentoring me.
- 8:56Sammy Maloof: I started going to Pastor Jack Shayford's church, I got myself a Bible, I started cutting people out of my life.
- 9:02Sammy Maloof: So now as a week goes by, two weeks go by, I'm on my way to a street race.
- 9:07Sammy Maloof: And on the way out there, God says, if you quit street racing, I will give you a race car.
- 9:12Sammy Maloof: So now I'm just driving.
- 9:13Sammy Maloof: I get there, I unload my 68 Z28 Camaro off the trailer, and no sooner I shut it off, God says, obey the laws of the land, and I will give you a race car.
- 9:24Sammy Maloof: So I instantly knew that was my heavenly father.
- 9:28Sammy Maloof: I get my truck, I start it up, and I come back to my shop and I'm praising the Lord.
- 9:32Sammy Maloof: Father, I thank you for my race car.
- 9:34Sammy Maloof: A week goes by, no race car.
- 9:35Sammy Maloof: Two weeks go by, still no race car.
- 9:37Sammy Maloof: One day I'm walking out of my engine room, and there's a Road Race GT1 car that's been sitting in my shop for about six years at the time.
- 9:44Sammy Maloof: And it belonged to a gentleman by the name of Sam G.
- 9:47Sammy Maloof: Greco.
- 9:48Sammy Maloof: So I walked out of my engine room and I looked at that car, and the desire to own that car wells up inside of me, like, no tomorrow.
- 9:55Sammy Maloof: I looked at that and I go, God, is that the car you want me to have?
- 9:58Sammy Maloof: And God says, Call him and ask him to sell you that car.
- 10:01Sammy Maloof: So I called him up.
- 10:02Sammy Maloof: He goes, No, we'll never get rid of that car.
- 10:04Sammy Maloof: It's been in our family too long.
- 10:06Sammy Maloof: It's raced at Riverside.
- 10:07Sammy Maloof: We'll never even get rid of it.
- 10:08Sammy Maloof: I said, Thank you, Mr.
- 10:09Sammy Maloof: G, anyway.
- 10:10Sammy Maloof: I hung up.
- 10:11Sammy Maloof: So I go to my shop, I'm working in the engine room.
- 10:13Sammy Maloof: I come out, and God says, faith without corresponding action is dead.
- 10:18Sammy Maloof: Get in that car and see yourself driving it.
- 10:21Sammy Maloof: Now, Ron, I've got employees working for me here.
- 10:25Sammy Maloof: And I'm in the car acting like I'm racing this car.
- 10:28Sammy Maloof: I'm going through the gears and there's no transmission.
- 10:31Sammy Maloof: I'm seeing myself doing it.
- 10:33Sammy Maloof: I get out of the car and God says, This is of me.
- 10:36Sammy Maloof: Put your hands on this car and claim it.
- 10:38Sammy Maloof: So I says, Father, in the name of Jesus, I believe this is inspired by the Holy Spirit.
- 10:43Sammy Maloof: I believe this is the car you want me to have.
- 10:45Sammy Maloof: And I thank you for it in Jesus' name.
- 10:46Sammy Maloof: Amen.
- 10:47Sammy Maloof: Every day I walk by that car.
- 10:49Sammy Maloof: Father, I thank you for my car.
- 10:50Sammy Maloof: A week goes by, two weeks go by, and Mr.
- 10:53Sammy Maloof: G comes in.
- 10:53Sammy Maloof: I go, Mr.
- 10:54Sammy Maloof: Gina Greco, how are you?
- 10:55Sammy Maloof: He goes, you know, Sam, he goes, you've done a lot for our family.
- 10:58Sammy Maloof: I'm going to give you that race car.
- 11:00Sammy Maloof: I walked out there.
- 11:00Sammy Maloof: I go, Father, I thank you for my car.
- 11:02Sammy Maloof: I've raced that car for 30-some years now.
- 11:05Sammy Maloof: If I could encourage anybody when they're first starting out as a Christian, this is what I did.
- 11:10Sammy Maloof: I knew how Satan worked after I became a Christian.
- 11:12Sammy Maloof: I knew how his schemes and methods worked.
- 11:14Sammy Maloof: But I wanted to know God the very first day, like I knew the world.
- 11:18Sammy Maloof: So this is what I did.
- 11:19Sammy Maloof: I had a beautiful two-bedroom house.
- 11:21Sammy Maloof: My back bedroom was empty.
- 11:22Sammy Maloof: I put two chairs in that back bedroom, Ron.
- 11:25Sammy Maloof: One chair was for Jesus, and one chair was for me.
- 11:28Sammy Maloof: And I told God, Father, I will meet you there tomorrow morning at 6 a.m.
- 11:32Sammy Maloof: It's one thing maybe to meet with the president of the United States, maybe.
- 11:35Sammy Maloof: It's another thing to be meeting with the creator of the universe.
- 11:38Sammy Maloof: So now I shower, I shave, I'm up, I walk in that room at 6 a.m., shut the door, I sit down in one chair and there's an empty chair in front of me.
- 11:47Sammy Maloof: So I just start praising the Lord.
- 11:48Sammy Maloof: And I'm gonna tell you something.
- 11:50Sammy Maloof: When God marks you, nobody can take it away.
- 11:53Sammy Maloof: If God's not in something, you can't start it.
- 11:55Sammy Maloof: If God is in it, nobody can stop it.
- 11:58Sammy Maloof: Ever since then, I have got supernatural testimonies.
- 12:01Sammy Maloof: The word of God is supernatural.
- 12:03Sammy Maloof: It's still alive.
- 12:04Sammy Maloof: Hebrews 13, 8.
- 12:05Sammy Maloof: I am the same yesterday, same forever.
- 12:07Sammy Maloof: God did it back then, he'll do it today, and he does it forever.
- 12:10Sammy Maloof: Problem with most people are they don't understand how the enemy works.
- 12:14Sammy Maloof: The greatest type of assassin is the one who conceals his identity.
- 12:17Sammy Maloof: Satan has no power.
- 12:20Sammy Maloof: When Satan was thrown out of heaven, he was stripped from all spiritual discernment.
- 12:24Sammy Maloof: Check this out.
- 12:25Sammy Maloof: God said to know me, you must know me in spirit and truth.
- 12:28Sammy Maloof: Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
- 12:32Sammy Maloof: And nobody can go to the heavens.
- 12:34Sammy Maloof: Nobody can go to the Father.
- 12:36Sammy Maloof: Nobody can get there unless they go through him.
- 12:39Sammy Maloof: Satan doesn't have Christ, the Holy Spirit, or God, three in one, so he can't even get there.
- 12:45Sammy Maloof: But yet, somehow, some way, it always winds up in the pulpit.
- 12:50Sammy Maloof: Well, God's allowing this to happen.
- 12:52Sammy Maloof: God's in charge of this world.
- 12:54Sammy Maloof: No, he's not.
- 12:55Sammy Maloof: If God's in charge of the world, he's doing a lousy job.
- 12:57Sammy Maloof: Quit blaming him.
- 12:58Sammy Maloof: God says, My kingdom is not of this world.
- 13:00Sammy Maloof: He left Adam in charge.
- 13:02Sammy Maloof: Adam gave it to Satan.
- 13:03Sammy Maloof: God couldn't create another Adam because everything was polluted now.
- 13:07Sammy Maloof: He couldn't take the power that he gave to Adam away from Satan because it wasn't his to take back.
- 13:12Sammy Maloof: So he said, This I'm gonna send myself and I'm gonna walk on this earth to demonstrate to everybody how Adam was supposed to walk.
- 13:19Sammy Maloof: So what did God do?
- 13:20Sammy Maloof: He became the infant, the child, the teenager, and then the adult.
- 13:24Sammy Maloof: The same way we were born.
- 13:26Sammy Maloof: It was God's blood that covered.
- 13:28Sammy Maloof: And it was God that walked the earth and a body called Christ.
- 13:31Sammy Maloof: In the book of John, it says, in the beginning was the word.
- 13:34Sammy Maloof: The word was with God, the word was God.
- 13:36Sammy Maloof: The 14th verses, God became flesh and walked on the earth in a body called Christ.
- 13:42Sammy Maloof: He did it to demonstrate to us.
- 13:44Sammy Maloof: So what I did, I duplicated God.
- 13:46Sammy Maloof: Everything he does, I do.
- 13:48Sammy Maloof: Because he said in John 14, 12, first of all, I personalize that Bible as if God's talking to me.
- 13:53Sammy Maloof: Samuel Maluth, yes, sir.
- 13:55Sammy Maloof: If I live in you, the work that I do, you're gonna do also and greater.
- 13:59Sammy Maloof: I said, Yes, I receive that, my heavenly father.
- 14:01Sammy Maloof: God's no respecter of persons, he's a respecter of his word.
- 14:05Sammy Maloof: That's the God I serve.
- 14:07Sammy Maloof: He said signs and wonders will follow the believer.
- 14:10Sammy Maloof: All things are possible to those who believe.
- 14:12Sammy Maloof: On the movie Fast and Furious 2, I'm the cat driving the convertible Corvette.
- 14:17Sammy Maloof: The 18-wheeler runs over the Mustang, kicked out the Corvette, kicked out the Mustang.
- 14:21Sammy Maloof: I'm supposed to drill this car with the Corvette I'm driving.
- 14:24Sammy Maloof: I pray about this before the stunt takes place.
- 14:27Sammy Maloof: God tells me, do not use a harness belt.
- 14:29Sammy Maloof: Of course I'm not going to use a harness belt.
- 14:31Sammy Maloof: Yes, Lord.
- 14:32Sammy Maloof: Why?
- 14:32Sammy Maloof: Because there's no roll cage in the car.
- 14:34Sammy Maloof: When there's no roll cage, I put a harness belt on.
- 14:37Sammy Maloof: I'm subject to the belt, especially in a convertible.
- 14:40Sammy Maloof: I want to be able to put a grab strap on the floor.
- 14:42Sammy Maloof: The car goes to get upside down, reach down there, grab the strap, and pull myself to the floor.
- 14:48Sammy Maloof: But in this case, it's a 2002 Corvette.
- 14:51Sammy Maloof: There's a console in the middle.
- 14:53Sammy Maloof: There's a camera rig right next to me.
- 14:56Sammy Maloof: I couldn't go to a grab strap if I wanted to.
- 14:58Sammy Maloof: But God told me do not use a harness belt.
- 15:01Sammy Maloof: So I didn't.
- 15:01Sammy Maloof: Then he told me to put angels around my car.
- 15:04Sammy Maloof: Within one second, I cannot see what's going on because the special effect from the truck is going in my face.
- 15:11Sammy Maloof: Now you gotta remember, I can't see one thing.
- 15:13Sammy Maloof: My radio is between my legs, tugger's yelling on the radio, Terry, we can't see.
- 15:18Sammy Maloof: Sammy can't see.
- 15:19Sammy Maloof: Nobody can see.
- 15:20Sammy Maloof: I'm not gonna stop.
- 15:21Sammy Maloof: I'm going 55 miles an hour.
- 15:23Sammy Maloof: There's cars behind me.
- 15:24Sammy Maloof: If I hit my brakes, they can't see.
- 15:25Sammy Maloof: They're gonna stack them up.
- 15:26Sammy Maloof: The cable cutters go off.
- 15:28Sammy Maloof: Boom! Dynamite blows, the cut cables get cut, the car hits the ground, the Mustang.
- 15:33Sammy Maloof: The truck keeps going away.
- 15:35Sammy Maloof: I'm going, where's the car?
- 15:36Sammy Maloof: Because I can't see the car.
- 15:37Sammy Maloof: It's special effects.
- 15:38Sammy Maloof: It's like a white, a white wall.
- 15:40Sammy Maloof: So I start putting my throttle down.
- 15:42Sammy Maloof: 55, 65, 70.
- 15:45Sammy Maloof: I see a corner of that Mustang and I throttle the car.
- 15:48Sammy Maloof: I T-bone that Mustang with that Corvette, and my Corvette goes straight up in the air and flips on the convertible roof and crushes it to the ground.
- 15:57Sammy Maloof: And not one here on my head was touched.
- 15:59Sammy Maloof: They come too late to tell me about the power of God.
- 16:02Sammy Maloof: Same thing on Fast and Furious 3.
- 16:04Sammy Maloof: How did you get into stunt driving?
- 16:08Sammy Maloof: In the book of Jeremiah 1, it says, God said, I knew you before I put you in the stomach of your mother.
- 16:16Sammy Maloof: There isn't an individual in this world, in the universe.
- 16:20Sammy Maloof: There is not a scientist, there's not a Bible scholar, there's nobody in this world that can read the Bible and get understanding without Christ living in their heart.
- 16:31Sammy Maloof: It says in 1 Corinthians 2.14, your natural man does not receive things of the Spirit of God, nor can they know them because they are spiritually discerned.
- 16:42Sammy Maloof: So people that say they know God or know the Word of God, but yet they're not a Christian.
- 16:46Sammy Maloof: They're liars.
- 16:47Sammy Maloof: You could know of God, but knowing of God and knowing God is two different things.
- 16:52Sammy Maloof: So Psalms 37.4 says, Delight yourself in the Lord, and I give you your heart's desire.
- 16:57Sammy Maloof: My heart's desire always wanted to be building race cars and doing stunts.
- 17:01Sammy Maloof: So God gave me that desire.
- 17:03Sammy Maloof: It's up to you to discover it from God.
- 17:05Sammy Maloof: There's a lot of people on this earth, they're existing because they've not found out their purpose in life, their gifts, their talents, their vision, their calling.
- 17:14Sammy Maloof: They have not found it out.
- 17:15Sammy Maloof: So they just exist.
- 17:16Sammy Maloof: To just exist.
- 17:18Sammy Maloof: When God said, I knew you before I put you in the stomach of your mother, that should end every abortion case in the world.
- 17:27Sammy Maloof: So when it comes to knowing your heavenly father, when you know him, you will know your purpose in life.
- 17:33Sammy Maloof: So yes, that's how I knew.
- 17:34Sammy Maloof: How I was going to achieve it, it didn't matter.
- 17:37Sammy Maloof: God says the door he opens for me, no one will close.
- 17:40Sammy Maloof: All as I had to do, Ron, was Matthew 6.33.
- 17:44Sammy Maloof: Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then all these things will be added unto you.
- 17:50Sammy Maloof: He said, Acknowledge me in all your ways, I direct your path.
- 17:53Sammy Maloof: That's Proverbs 3.6.
- 17:55Sammy Maloof: So everything I've got today in life, everything, Ron, it all came from my heavenly father.
- 18:01Ron Meyers: So, Sammy, if somebody listening says, Well, I haven't discovered my purpose.
- 18:06Ron Meyers: I don't have the desires like Sammy does, what would you tell that person?
- 18:10Sammy Maloof: People don't know who they really are until they hear it from their heavenly father.
- 18:15Sammy Maloof: A person can't love until they hear how much God loves them.
- 18:19Sammy Maloof: You can't give until you see what God gave you.
- 18:22Sammy Maloof: Because the God of this age blinds our mind.
- 18:25Sammy Maloof: The Bible says it.
- 18:26Sammy Maloof: Satan's the father of the air who blinds the minds of the people.
- 18:29Sammy Maloof: Satan's job is to interject thoughts in people's heads.
- 18:32Sammy Maloof: The challenge with most people is they listen to too many people rather than seek God and find out who God is.
- 18:39Sammy Maloof: And if they do seek them and they don't hear something in one one hundredth of a second, they say there's no such thing as God.
- 18:45Sammy Maloof: Look, you are a spirit.
- 18:47Sammy Maloof: You have a soul, and you live in a vehicle called the body.
- 18:50Sammy Maloof: Your soul is made up of your mind, your will, and your emotion.
- 18:54Sammy Maloof: The soul is the battlefield, the drafting room, the imaginary room, the arena.
- 18:59Sammy Maloof: That's the only place the enemy can play with.
- 19:02Ron Meyers: So, Sammy, if somebody listening says, I want what Sammy has.
- 19:07Ron Meyers: I want to have that fire and that passion for life.
- 19:11Ron Meyers: How do they do it?
- 19:12Ron Meyers: I'll tell you what.
- 19:14Sammy Maloof: You get anybody that wants that, you have them call me.
- 19:16Sammy Maloof: I will pray for them.
- 19:17Sammy Maloof: I'll mentor them.
- 19:18Sammy Maloof: And I promise you, the two biggest tragedies an individual ever face in life.
- 19:24Sammy Maloof: Number one, leave the earth without knowing where you're going.
- 19:26Sammy Maloof: And number two, is leave the earth without fulfilling your heart's desire, vision, calling, or purpose.
- 19:31Sammy Maloof: That means you just existed.
- 19:32Sammy Maloof: That's another tragedy.
- 19:34Sammy Maloof: So, yes, I would be willing to sit and mentor them and talk to them and show them how to hear from God.
- 19:40Ron Meyers: Well, you pray right now for our listeners, just for whatever the Lord puts on your heart.
- 19:45Sammy Maloof: Yes.
- 19:46Sammy Maloof: Father, in the name of Jesus, that boldly go into the thronum of grace.
- 19:49Sammy Maloof: Father, your word declares to me, which there's two or three gathered in your name, here you are in the midst.
- 19:55Sammy Maloof: And if just two shall agree upon anything, it shall be done.
- 19:59Sammy Maloof: Father, you have multiple thousands of children out there.
- 20:03Sammy Maloof: I don't know their needs.
- 20:04Sammy Maloof: You do.
- 20:05Sammy Maloof: Father, I'm asking you now to send spirit-filled, born again, tongue-talking, faith-walking, Christian across your children's path.
- 20:15Sammy Maloof: But I'm asking you first, Father, to please prepare their hearts to receive.
- 20:20Sammy Maloof: I bind the spirit of division, bitterness, resentment, anger, hate, unforgiveness.
- 20:28Sammy Maloof: I bind oppression, oppression, condemnation.
- 20:31Sammy Maloof: I bind the spirit of condemnation.
- 20:33Sammy Maloof: I bind the spirit of unbelief.
- 20:35Sammy Maloof: I bind it, I bind the spirit of confusion.
- 20:39Sammy Maloof: Father, I ask you to unzip the window of your children's heart and go deep inside and curb, courage the heart.
- 20:48Sammy Maloof: It's the time they were little, when they opened that window of their heart and trusted the very person, and that person hurt them.
- 20:55Sammy Maloof: And Father, as you showed me years ago, time doesn't heal.
- 20:58Sammy Maloof: If time heals, then God's unnecessary.
- 21:01Sammy Maloof: Father, it's only you that can heal the broken heart, the wounded heart, the hopelessness.
- 21:06Sammy Maloof: Tell your children they are forgiven, and the sins are blotted out their life.
- 21:10Sammy Maloof: As far as the East is from the West, the transgressions are gone.
- 21:14Sammy Maloof: And Father, as you said, you never remember, you never remember, you never remember a stuff of God.
- 21:20Sammy Maloof: Father, I'm asking you to do me a favor today.
- 21:23Sammy Maloof: The ones that are hurting financially, the ones that are hurting because of the loved ones, not homeless, the ones that are discouraged, I'm asking you to let's tell me.
- 22:00Ron Meyers: Media?
- 22:01Sammy Maloof: Yes, I am.
- 22:02Sammy Maloof: You can reach me at Sammy Maloof.com and everything should be on that one site.
- 22:07Sammy Maloof: I mean, they can go to YouTube, Sammy Maloof, see a bunch of stunts and a bunch of stuff, but Sammy Maloof.com has everything.
- 22:14Sammy Maloof: You can also look us up at Winning at the Race of Life, but Sammy Maloof.com usually has everything you need to know to get to me.
- 22:22Ron Meyers: How many movies have you been in as a stunt uh driver?
- 22:26Sammy Maloof: As a stuntman or fight, falls on fire, but my specialty is car stunts.
- 22:31Sammy Maloof: So I don't know, maybe I can recap some of them.
- 22:34Sammy Maloof: Rush Hour, Wow Wow West, Enemy of the State, Three Kings, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Benjamin's The Crew, Pilot Called The Fugitive.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Wow.
- 22:45Sammy Maloof: Benjamin's Crew, the Fugitive, Fast and Furious 2, Fast and Furious 3, Mission Impossible 4, Rock of Ages, Step of Four, Magic City, Burning Notice, Charlie's Angels, Transporter 2, I don't know, Monkey Bone.
- 22:58Sammy Maloof: There's a bunch of them.
- 22:59Sammy Maloof: I don't know.
- 22:59Sammy Maloof: I I got some of them I remembered, but I've got to ask you this.
- 23:03Ron Meyers: What's the fastest you've ever been going in one of your cars?
- 23:09Sammy Maloof: I've gone over 200 miles an hour.
- 23:12Ron Meyers: But no matter what you've done, and all the stunts and all the Hollywood people you've met, there's nothing that can touch a relationship with God, is there?
- 23:24Sammy Maloof: Let me tell you something.
- 23:25Sammy Maloof: This is what I tell him.
- 23:26Sammy Maloof: I'm a Hollywood stunt man.
- 23:28Sammy Maloof: I build race cars, but most of all, I'm a Christian.
- 23:32Sammy Maloof: And my heavenly father always comes first.
- 23:34Sammy Maloof: He's first and foremost before anything or anyone in my life.
- 23:38Sammy Maloof: If God said it, I don't give a flying flip who believes it's settled.
- 23:44Ron Meyers: You are a ball of fire, Sammy.
- 23:48Ron Meyers: I am fired up after listening to you.
- 23:51Ron Meyers: Now, thank you.
- 23:53Ron Meyers: In closing, if there's something you feel you need to tell the listeners, please do.
- 23:59Sammy Maloof: Okay.
- 23:59Sammy Maloof: Let's just go right to the scripture, okay?
- 24:01Sammy Maloof: First of all, in the book of James 1, verse 5, it says, a double-minded person is unstable in all their ways.
- 24:08Sammy Maloof: Double-minded that's in the mind.
- 24:11Sammy Maloof: Satan plays with the mind.
- 24:12Sammy Maloof: Always remember, amen means so be it.
- 24:15Sammy Maloof: No, since you say amen, Satan goes, yeah, but what if?
- 24:18Sammy Maloof: What is he saying?
- 24:20Sammy Maloof: Satan always starts a conversation with an accusation.
- 24:24Sammy Maloof: God always starts conversations with communication.
- 24:28Sammy Maloof: God speaks to the heart, Satan speaks to the mind.
- 24:31Sammy Maloof: Number one.
- 24:32Sammy Maloof: Number two, Mark 11, 22.
- 24:34Sammy Maloof: It says, have faith in God.
- 24:37Sammy Maloof: A literal translation is the faith of God or the God kind of faith.
- 24:43Sammy Maloof: What's the God kind of faith?
- 24:45Sammy Maloof: Light be and there's light.
- 24:48Sammy Maloof: Peace be filled, and it's filled.
- 24:50Sammy Maloof: Mark 1123 says, if you have as much faith as a mustard seed, you shall faith to a mountain.
- 24:59Sammy Maloof: Be removed and cast into the sea.
- 25:02Sammy Maloof: And shall not doubt in your heart.
- 25:04Sammy Maloof: But believe those things you say shall come to pass.
- 25:09Sammy Maloof: You will have whatever you say.
- 25:13Sammy Maloof: The Bible says you have what you say.
- 25:16Sammy Maloof: God never put a higher emphasis nor caution on anything other than words.
- 25:25Sammy Maloof: He said by your word you're justified.
- 25:28Sammy Maloof: And by your own words, you condemn yourself.
- 25:31Sammy Maloof: It's not because in your mouth that defiles you, it's what comes out.
- 25:35Sammy Maloof: He said you're stirred by your words, and then he says, You will have what you say.
- 25:46Sammy Maloof: What say you think if you don't want it?
- 25:50Sammy Maloof: He said in Romans 4 17, all those things that are not as though they are.
- 25:56Sammy Maloof: If you're gonna get anywhere in the Word of God for victorious life, you're gonna have to bridle the thing under your nose called the tongue.
- 26:06Sammy Maloof: James has a whole lot to say about that.
- 26:09Sammy Maloof: The Bible says we all stumble in many things.
- 26:11Sammy Maloof: If we don't stumble in words, we are a perfect man.
- 26:15Sammy Maloof: That means complete, able to bridle the whole body from stumbling.
- 26:20Sammy Maloof: So, yes, if people would ask and want to talk to me about something, I start with words.
- 26:26Sammy Maloof: God framed the world with his words.
- 26:28Sammy Maloof: He created you in your image, in his own image.
- 26:31Sammy Maloof: You're framing your world right now with your words.
- 26:34Sammy Maloof: People come to me and they want me to pray for them, no sooner I get done praying, especially if they're overweight and they go, no sooner I get done praying, they look at them like I gained 10 pounds just looking at that.
- 26:43Sammy Maloof: I just got done praying.
- 26:45Sammy Maloof: You've stopped your own blessing with your words.
- 26:48Sammy Maloof: I have so much to say about words.
- 26:50Sammy Maloof: My whole life I live off of words.
- 26:52Ron Meyers: Sammy Maloof, you are a blessing.
- 26:55Ron Meyers: You are a bright light.
- 26:57Ron Meyers: You're out in California, and well, one of these days we're gonna see what we can do to get you into the Gulf Coast area and maybe bring one of your race cars.
- 27:07Ron Meyers: I know you do that.
- 27:08Sammy Maloof: I'll tell you what.
- 27:09Sammy Maloof: I'll tell you what, you let me know, I'll bring my stunt car, and we'll put on a big stunt show, and we'll give a bunch of kids and people rides, and and let me have a place that I can speak to them first.
- 27:20Sammy Maloof: Get an auditorium, I'll speak to them, and then we'll give them stunt rides.
- 27:24Sammy Maloof: Sounds good, rides in a stunt car.
- 27:26Sammy Maloof: Rise in a stunt car.
- 27:27Sammy Maloof: Not a stunt car ride, but rides in a stunt car.
- 27:31Ron Meyers: Well, brother, thank you for your time.
- 27:33Ron Meyers: Thank you, Sammy.
- 27:34Ron Meyers: I know you're busy.
- 27:35Ron Meyers: Uh, you're working on any big projects right now, race cars?
- 27:39Sammy Maloof: Yeah, I got a couple drag race motors, boat motors, and and of course, we have our own reality show.
- 27:46Sammy Maloof: So it's been it's been really good.
- 27:48Sammy Maloof: We're we I'm always busy, but I'm always available for you or your listeners.
- 27:53Sammy Maloof: Just call.
- 27:54Sammy Maloof: What's your reality show?
- 27:56Sammy Maloof: It's called Drive Hard the Malou Play.
- 27:59Sammy Maloof: It's about my family, my daughters, and my extended family that's with me, Janine and everybody.
- 28:04Sammy Maloof: And and it's about racing, stunts, and and what we do for a living.
- 28:10Ron Meyers: Thank you so much for your time.
- 28:14Announcer: You're listening to Get the Hell Out of Your Life with your host, Ron Myers.
- 28:19Announcer: Real stories, real struggles, and real hope.
- 28:24Speaker 5: Jesus, Jesus.
- 28:26Speaker 5: What do you think of when you hear that name?
- 28:29Speaker 5: Jesus, Jesus, life, light, hope, Joe, Joe, Jesus, Jesus, all how do you get the hell out of your life?
- 29:26Announcer: Get on your knees and cry out to the Lord.
- 29:28Announcer: He hears you right where you are.
- 29:30Announcer: How to get the hell out of your life?
- 29:32Announcer: Well, you replace it with Jesus.
- 29:33Announcer: We gotta be born again, born of the Spirit, and that's by trusting Jesus Christ, turning from our sins, and trusting Jesus.
- 29:38Announcer: How do you get the hell out of your life?
- 29:40Announcer: Oh gosh.
- 29:41Ron Meyers: Jesus.
- 29:42Ron Meyers: Jesus, Jesus.
- 29:43Sammy Maloof: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
- 29:44Announcer: Turn to Jesus.
- 29:46Ron Meyers: Boy, I loved talking with Sammy.
- 29:49Ron Meyers: You know, you hear the interview, but him and I probably talked for a few hours.
- 29:54Ron Meyers: And what stands out about Sammy's story isn't just what he's done, it's how he lives.
- 30:01Ron Meyers: He didn't stumble into excellence, he practiced it.
- 30:05Ron Meyers: He didn't chase moments, he built habits.
- 30:09Ron Meyers: And when chaos showed up on the track or on the film set, he wasn't guessing.
- 30:16Ron Meyers: He was prepared.
- 30:18Ron Meyers: From the GT1 road race to high risk stunt sequences where rigging failed and visibility disappeared, Sammy showed us how professionals manage risk.
- 30:32Ron Meyers: Slow the mind, trust the training, and act with intention.
- 30:36Ron Meyers: His safety calculus, his discipline, his focus reveals something deeper.
- 30:43Ron Meyers: That faith doesn't remove danger, but it does sharpen clarity.
- 30:49Ron Meyers: More than that, Sammy reminded us that words matter.
- 30:54Ron Meyers: What you speak, visualize, and act on steers your life, just like a steering rack guides a car.
- 31:03Ron Meyers: Many people drift simply because they never stop long enough to listen.
- 31:08Ron Meyers: Through daily quiet time, and I loved it when he talked about pulling up two chairs, one for him and one for Jesus.
- 31:17Ron Meyers: Through daily quiet time, intentional language and conversations with Jesus and the obedience in the small things, Sammy aligned belief with behavior and blessing followed the work, not by accident, but by design.
- 31:36Ron Meyers: And now through mentorship, prayer, and upcoming projects like Drive Hard, the Maloof Way, he's passing that wisdom on, inviting others like you to drive with purpose instead of noise.
- 31:54Ron Meyers: If today's episode spoke to you, here's the takeaway.
- 31:59Ron Meyers: You don't need more speed.
- 32:01Ron Meyers: You need direction.
- 32:03Ron Meyers: Purpose isn't found in the rush, it's uh revealed in the quiet.
- 32:09Ron Meyers: When you slow down long enough to listen, when you discipline your habits, when you bridle your words and do the work in front of you, clarity follows.
- 32:20Ron Meyers: Maybe today is your moment to pull off the road, to check the alignment to trade adrift for drive.
- 32:30Ron Meyers: Sammy prayed for you, the listener today.
- 32:33Ron Meyers: And I want to echo what Sammy said that you would discover who you are, why you are here, and the courage to move forward with intention.
- 32:45Ron Meyers: I want to thank you.
- 32:47Ron Meyers: I just love spending time with you each week.
