- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we all dogs, welcome to the dogs podcast with your hopes, Blake Rennaker, Justin Charles, Kenny Mack, and John Shaw.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, what's up, Browns fans?
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to another episode of The Dog's Podcast.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Happy Friday, beautiful sunny summer day here, and Browns mandatory minicamp and the entire off-season spring program has come to an end.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: So that's right.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: All the players, they're leaving Buria, they're off on their own, and they will be gone on summer break until late July when training camp starts, so everybody will come back to get ready for training camp, but that will be, I don't know what, six, seven weeks or so from now we've got a nice stretch here.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: There's not going to be a whole lot of NFL news, not a whole lot of roster news, football news, hopefully, actually fingers crossed.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, if you guys have been following the Browns for more than a couple years now, you kind of know, and honestly, it's not just the Browns, but this summer break period, joke about it all the time, kind of lateheartedly, but in all seriousness here, this is the time of year that NFL GMs dread the most.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: because there is no contact, there's no connection to the facility, to the team, everybody is off on break.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: This is the time of year where, unfortunately, people get arrested.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: Guys do stupid things.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: They maybe aren't working out the way they should be, or the lesser discipline players sometimes.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: July 4th is over this stretch.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: You always have to worry about a player on your roster, blowing off his fingers or losing an eye.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this stuff happened, not you hear us the other year.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: Jason Pierre Paul, like, this stuff happens.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: You just worry about it.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, it is a time of the year where you just hope and pray that nothing happens to anybody on my team.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: Say those prayers, have those positive thoughts that the Browns are gonna stay out of trouble and stay healthy, no jet skiing accidents.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that was, what, Heinz, the running back.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: At Niam Heinz, Niam Heinz, when he played for the bills and then obviously then the Browns signed him after he was supposedly back from that injury but then he never saw the feel because he was never right again.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: So stay, freaking, safe and smart.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: any players who might happen to stumble across this, which I know you don't, but that's fine.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: This is for the fans, not the players, but just be smart during this time.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I guess I'd go for you fans too, do not be dumb with fireworks and anything else while we get excited for this summer weather and summer activities, which I'm super pumped for, as well, a vacation coming up here in a couple of weeks, which means there will be a stretch,
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: at the end of June here.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I won't be doing the podcast.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: I will have a couple pre-recorded shows for you guys during that time.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: So just bear with me.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: But here we go.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns off on Summer Break and I'm going to detail recap the mandatory minicamp from the past week.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of go through my brief notes from each day.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing crazy went on.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing major.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: And all of that kind of stuff.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: Zack Jackson dropped an article today with
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: saw his takeaways and as he is currently one of the very few Browns media members that I trust and I guess I'll comment on that here a little bit.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry, Brad, I'm going to get to it.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: Everything going on with Ken Carmen, Yihah.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll talk about some of the takeaways from Zack Jackson and then just some overall pointers about the team as we go into summer break.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: Before I do make sure I got a couple things here real quick for you guys.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, you want to play fantasy football with us this year?

- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're just collecting registrations to get an idea of how many leagues we will need to create.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: So join the dogs dot com number two tomorrow, Saturday bowling with the pros.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a great time.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: That is that whole of famed lanes in Canton, Ohio.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be live streaming from there, so come check it out.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: If you're local, it's $50 to bowl $20 a ticket just to come hang out at the event, which honestly there's going to be eight.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a list pulled up tons of Browns alumni there.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: Headline by Bernie Coast are hoping to have an opportunity to sit down on the show with him.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: These events are always kind of you play it by ear.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: You have no idea.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: who's going to be busy, who's going to actually, sometimes these guys don't end up showing up because they get cotton traffic or family thing comes up.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: Last year we had plans to interview a several guys and then they ended up, they were bowling so we couldn't pull them into the show.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: It was just, we played it by ear, but we want you guys to tune into the livestream if you can't make it to the event.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a ton of fun bowling with the pros tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: I had a couple people reach out and ask about the Cleveland for Christ T-shirts that the players and the community members were wearing at the event last Sunday.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: I actually have no idea where they got those T-shirts or who sells them or who made them what the deal is with the actual T-shirts.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: I do have Cleveland for Christ T-shirts, a design of that on our podcast store.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: So if you go to the dogspodcast.com slash shop, you can find a Cleveland for Christ shirt there.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I will, actually, I'll let you guys in on this.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be doing an episode next week with Brown's team chaplain Nobles Darby the fourth.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: So the guy who, you know, the lead, orchestrator, I don't even know how to how to phrase it.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: Of the Cleveland for Christ event last Sunday, along with the Browns players who went and joined him at the Buryamianisville pool, I'm going to have him on the podcast next week.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're interested
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right, I think that's all my housekeeping stuff.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just go through many camp notes and then we'll dive into the Zach Jackson article a little bit.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: Many camp day one, Tuesday, big story out of that.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: You guys already know by now Dylan Gabriel, the number situation, the Jersey number conundrum has been solved.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently, and again, I didn't see this actual report of the Browns as far as I've seen, have not commented specifically on all of this.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I saw the report last week that they were reaching out to the NFL League office for permission to change his number.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: while they have to report number changes to the league office, obviously, and I think they have to get permission any time a guy wants to change his number.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that it was reported was a little interesting considering the Browns had no quarterback numbers to assign.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: All numbers zero through 19 were all taken.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: So there was nothing for Dylan Gabriel to switch to.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, I know there are still people that say, I thought they changed the rules.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: Do you can wear whatever number you want now?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: No matter what your person know, that's not true.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: the allowable numbers for each position expanded.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: That was the rule change a few years back.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, wider severs can now wear single digits.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: Quarterbacks can now wear number zero.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Things like that, but quarterbacks are zero through 19.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: So apparently, from what I understand the way I took it, the Browns were seeking approval to let Dylan Gabriel wear number six, which is Jeremiah Osu-Koromo's number.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: And while Jeremiah O'Wosu Corromoa is on the pup and ruled out for the second straight season, he is still technically on the roster that is still technically his jersey number.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't know the situation.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if this is just a temporary thing and then obviously Gabriel might have to switch his number yet again if he's on the roster comes September after we have roster cut down and some of those quarterback digits become available.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see the situation as far as I'm concerned
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: I see a lot of people in comments on videos and on social media posts asking, why it's even still on the team?
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't we just cut him?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the key to competition is clearly between should or Sanders, to Sean Watson, we just drafted Taylor and Green in the sixth round of the draft, like, what are we doing, Dylan Gabriel?
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, or they'll say why haven't we traded him yet?
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: So number one to that point.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: got to have a trade partner, you can't facilitate a trade if there's nobody on the receiving end to take him.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: So there's got to be somebody with interest in him now.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: Could there be maybe, okay, this is a second year quarterback who started what 7-6-7 games last year as a rookie.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: So there's experience there.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's third round draft capital to him, whether or not we agree with that third round draft capital, it exists.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I never in a million years last year, what I thought that Andrew Barry would get a fifth round pick for an injured Kenny Pickett.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: But he did.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I won't leave anything off the table where they Andrea Barry.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: If he's able to swing a trade from Dylan Gabriel here later in training camp, I could see that happening.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, I believe Dylan Gabriel will be a,
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: a roster cut down, he'll get waived and at that point he'll probably go through waivers and be put back onto the Browns practice squad.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: If they don't trade him, that would be my prediction.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: He gets cut as a part of the cut down and then he goes through waivers and the Browns put him back onto the practice squad.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: So that is kind of how I see things.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: get remember the browns always have four quarterbacks during training camp so right now they have four quarterbacks so this is nothing not the new nothing weird and I get it I know there's people out there just really don't like doing gave us probably I think it's a good kid using the hell of a college quarterback excellent college quarterback just using that third round pick on a five foot 10 sub 200 pound quarterback manager
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that'll ever, not be funny.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, back to many camp day one.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: So the starting offensive line, this is something I can kind of talk about cumulative here throughout the week.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: So day one was Spencer Fano at left tackle.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: Zion Johnson left guard, Elkton Jenkins at center, KT Leviston at right guard and then Titus Howard at right tackle.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: So the big thing here with the offensive line, I guess, before I start talking more specifics.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munkin did say, I think last week, I think it was, the Browns have four of the five starting offensive line men figured out.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now, positions may be not quite so much.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Three of the five, I would say, yes, they've got them figured out.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know it's going to be Spencer Fano at Left Tackle.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be Zion Johnson at Left Guard.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: And you know it's going to be Titus Howard at Right Tackle.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: Those are locked in.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: You can put those down in pen.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: is Elkton Jenkins, and that's why the fourth position is not a walk.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Because Elkton Jenkins is either going to play center,
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: or right guard.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: And that all depends on, excuse me, that all depends on the performance of three other players.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I could name a fourth, but I can't do that.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: So three other players, and I'll tell you who the fourth is.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: You guys probably already know.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be between ten Jenkins, can ten Jenkins take over the starting right guard spot, then that would mean Elkton Jenkins plays center.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: KT Leveston, again, can he take over the right guard spot, which would put Elkton Jenkins at Center.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: And for everybody saying KT Leveston sucked last year, yes, he did.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: He was outright terrible at tackle.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, this is a guy, a man if my memory serves me correct, he was a, you know,
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: practice was he a practice squad guy for the Rams got signed to the active roster something like that or he was I forget if he was a UDFA.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: Either way I believe the Browns flipped a seventh round pick before the season last year like late August, early September to get KT Leveston into Cleveland.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there was any plan at the time that hey we're going to get this guy and he's going to be a starting tackle for our line but through injuries and stuff
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: and he was not good at tackle, but Jake Burns at Brown's film break down for months has been highlighting Katie Lovesson as a guy who could probably play guard at a decent level, not saying he'd be a high level starter or anything like that, but his play style, his strengths, the way he blocks
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: The way he uses his body, his athletics, the things that make up a guard are the things that K2-Leviston has.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's not really cut out to be a tackle.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns are doing that.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're doing what Jake has been begging them to do for months and they are working him at the guard position.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then the third guy is Parker Brailsford, the rookie center out of Alabama.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: can he somehow come through training camp showing that he should be the starting center and he did get run during many camp with the first team O line at center.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: And in that situation, then you would have Elkton Jenkins playing right guard.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where the offensive line currently stands.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: And those are the things we'll be watching in training camp.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, it is very reminiscent
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: in a way of the 2019 season when we traded for white teller and maybe it was 2020 I can't remember and we debated on the show we're like okay we know who the four line men are we have no idea who's going to play right guard and then it turned out to be right white teller and he had probal careers you know seasons and everything like had a great career here in Cleveland
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how this whole thing shakes out during camp.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: The fourth guy.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I could stay was a part of this conversation, but he's not.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: Is Zach's enter.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: Third round pick from a few years ago was out of Michigan.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: Hoping that this guy was going to be a future piece for this offensive line, just then going to happen.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: Not going to work out for Zach's enter, but we've got guys right now
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: Um, as far as the offensive line goes, well, if you look at the quarterback rotation for the week, so it was Shador Sanders on day one, taking all the first team reps to Sean Watson was the first team quarterback on day two and then on day three, they split.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: That was the plan for the week.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: One thing I found interesting and maybe it's a whole bunch of nothing, but I thought it was worth noting and I'm going to point it out right here to you guys.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know in the comments what you think.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: On day one, you had Shidorah Sanders as the first day of mini camp was your first team quarterback.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: And you had again, Fano and everybody else on that offensive line.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: Day two to Sean Watson was the first team quarterback, but they decided to put Spencer Fano back with the second team
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: O'Line with Shidorah Sanders and they put the one Jones with the first team O'Line at left tackle with Dishon Watson.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was How do I say this?
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not trying to make something out of nothing.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but it was interesting because Maybe I'm crazy we all know Spencer Faun was gonna be the starting left tackle
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're going to put him there on day one, like he's already made that jump over to one, Jones for that spot, which we all know is going to happen.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: Why they put him back with the second team where Shador was on day two.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't know, I thought that was interesting.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'll just leave it at that.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like people might be getting a little tired and be talking about this quarterback competition and stuff.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, guys, what else we're supposed to talk about?
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's the biggest, it's the most important position in sports, and it's something that we talk about every single offseason with this team.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: And again, here we are in the same situation, but...
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'll kind of just, obviously I'm going to talk more about.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: I got stuff from Zach Jackson here.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: Day one, let's just get back to the rest of the team.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: Mason Graham was, he didn't practice all week.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't practiced at OTAs for a while.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's practiced at all this spring.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: Has he?
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm asking you guys, like I should know that.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure he has not, but either way, Monday or Tuesday, day one was out there in a walking boot.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that was like, oh,
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on with Mason Graham?
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have Malik Collins, he's coming off that quad surgery.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Hall left what last week or the week before the hyper extended knee, he's only played 50% of his games that he's been in Cleveland the last two years.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now we got Mason Graham on a walking boot, who the hell's going to play the center of this defensive line?
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, worries kind of went away a little bit.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Day two, Mason Graham again, not practicing the rest of the week, but walking boot gone.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so he's not out there.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's no longer in the walking boot.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he had an end-grown toenail, I who knows.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: We don't get injury updates about these guys.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munkin did say I think it was Wednesday after practice that he will not comment on
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: player injuries right now that he will just simply not do it.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: You won't answer questions any question about it just as I won't comment on injuries.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: But he did say, he anticipates having everybody available for the starter training camp.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: So anybody who's not practicing, which I will go through that list here in a minute, guys who didn't practice this week, he is anticipating having everybody available for the starter training camp.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: So that means anybody who's out right now with an injury, it doesn't seem to be all that severe.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully, that's the hope.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Now that's what he says, we'll see what happens when training camp actually rolls around.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just sports either, you can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: It works like this, simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: So if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out Cowshin's see what markets are live right now.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: So head over to kowshi.com slash dogs, k-a-l-s-h-i-i-dot-com slash dogs, d-a-w-g-s, deposit just $20, and Cowshin's gonna match you, they're gonna put $20 free into your account.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's a great deal to get started.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: So again, calshie.com slash dogs $20 match when you deposit $20 into your account.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: one guy that did make an appearance back on the field after missing all of OTAs with an injury recovering from the knee injury that he sustained in week 18 last season was Luke Whippler.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: So another offensive line guy, another center and somebody battling for a spot here in the rotation whether it's you know maybe he can try to fight for a first team spot, second team spot, back up what have you but Luke Whippler was back at practice this week which was good to see obviously
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: You won't guys practice saying you don't want guys standing on the sideline as much as possible.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: Day two.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess one thing I haven't talked about yet on the show.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: This came out yesterday.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm as well.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to talk about this guy right now.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Ronnie Hickman was, or he signed his, he signed his free agent tender with the Brown.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: So he's locked in for 2026.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: So our safety room is set.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: We've got obviously the rookie manual McNeil Warren who again was not practicing this week, but Ephraim Banda, the safety's coach did have some comments about him.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll get to that if I remember.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: You guys know how I do.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I just right off top of my head.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: Grant Dalpit, obviously, who he's also not practicing.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: And nobody knows if it's injury related or contract related.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's on the last year of his deal looking for an extension.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: exact Jackson said it could be a little bit of both.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: There could be a little bit of an injury thing going on with him.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: There might be a contract.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I wouldn't say might be.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think that there is a contract situation going on with him.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: There's a might be a little bit of a hold-in where they show up, but they say, yeah, I'm not going to dress.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going out the practice because I want my new contract before I go out there and risk getting hurt.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll keep an eye on Grant's outfit and see what happens.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Duffin from the OBR.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: Not necessarily said he's expecting it, but he said there's a chance that a contract extension for Grant Delpit does get done before training camp.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: So in this summer break stretch, we could get some breaking news that Grant Delpit has signed an extension with the Browns.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I hope.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to keep losing guys.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we lost miles, Garrett.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: Thankfully, we were able to replace him with Jared verse and a whole bunch of draft capital.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that makes it easier to swallow.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what you're going to replace Grant Delpit with if you lose him.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we've got some nice young guys in that room.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: I already mentioned EMW, but you've got Donovan McMillan and Chase, no, not Chase.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Edmonds, UDFA's from last year, but you're not replacing Grant Delpit in that defense.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: We need him and I hope they get an extension done with him.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: but Ronnie Hickman, they'll be looking to work out an extension also with him to keep him here for it'll probably be a two, three year extension for Ronnie Hickman again, a UDFA from 2023.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: First two years didn't do a whole lot last year was his first season as the full-time starting free safety started all 17 games and oh, what did he do?
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: No big deal, just the third leading tackler on the team, Ronnie Hickman.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think what was a seven pass break ups, two picks.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, just he had a very good season for the Browns last year, and I don't think that gets talked about enough.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm really happy to have Ronnie Hickman officially under contract for 2026.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: So on day two, I'm not trying to knock to Sean Watson here, but he was the one who threw the pick six.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: Ronnie Hickman had a pick six, and he almost had a second interception in practice, a pass again, off of to Sean, that Carson Swesinger tipped.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: and if Hickman could have come down with it would have been his second pick six of the day.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: So we've got guys looking pretty good on this defense.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously Swesinger Quincy Williams is flying around the field and he's going to be a ton of fun.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think Browns fans are going to really like Quincy Williams.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's just, he's a high energy guy, he's a positive vibe, his type of player, and maximum effort, maximum hustle.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: I really enjoyed watching Devon Bush the last couple of years, and I was hoping the Browns would reassign him.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: Quincy Williams was my top target for the Browns if they weren't able to bring Devon Bushback.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, I'm more excited about Quincy Williams now than I think I would have been having Devon Bushback.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: I just,
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think his play style was going to fit what Mike Rootenberg wants to do with his defense very well.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: And especially alongside Carson Swesinger, and it seems like those two have a fantastic relationship already building on that defense.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel Boston, let's talk about these wider receivers real quick.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: I got a point.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: I want to make about this.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: So Denzel Boston.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's making plays every day.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: Making plays every day, turning heads, people at camp just can't say enough great things about Denzel Boston.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome, man.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for Denzel Boston.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think that there is a really good possibility that he outproduces expectations in your one.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: depending on quarterback play, depending on what we can get out of our offensive line, if we can hold up protections, Todd Munkins offensive scheme.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of variables at play here, guys, a lot of variables, but it's good to see these receivers making, especially a guy like Denzel Boston, and I'm sorry, I'm going to get off with so many tangents today because of what I read in comments and maybe I need to quit reading comments, but I like hearing what you guys have to say, I just don't like hearing what idiots have to say.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: it's just practice they're just in shorts who cares none of this stuff even matters right now if it didn't matter right now they wouldn't freaking do it okay there are there are things that you got to take with a grain of salt during spring practices when they're out there and in shorts and stuff but there's also other things that you can lean from this whole situation Denzel Boston is a perfect example of
- 26:25[SPEAKER_01]: He came into the NFL out of college with a superpower, which was contested catch downfield ability.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: So when you see that ability translate immediately, not it took him a while to get up to speed or he dropped some passes or didn't come down with some catches for the first part of the summer, and then it started to click boom, day one.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: This guy is mossing defenders out there in practice, coming down with contested catches, sideline grabs,
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: don't know if he's dropped a pass, like they say he catches everything.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: So for me that's encouraged.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like when you have things that you did really well in college and they immediately translate, I know they're not in pads, but it's still a competitive situation where you have a defender coming up trying to knock a pass away break up the past to fend you.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's more like flag football with helmets, but it's definitely physical.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: He's already doing exactly what he was touted for doing in college, and that's awesome.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: The thing I wanted to link here is, I'm trying to find my note on this, well, it doesn't really matter.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: So, well, I actually know here it is, I'm sorry.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: I got stuff all over the place for this one today, guys, bear with me.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess I'll talk real quick.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is just one excerpt from the Zac Jackson article, but he said Todd Munkin's offense is already showing the use of motion and quick passes to guys like Casey concepts the own.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: The offense is using misdirection to create space and passing lanes for the quarterback.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I've seen people here throughout OTAs and many camp kind of crapping on Casey concepts the own.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, here's the Browns.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, pickin' the first round, Denzel Boston was the guy they took a little bit later in the second round.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: And listen.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: One of these guys is gonna become the Brown's Wider Sever 1.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I believe.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: I hope I'm right about that.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think both guys could be almost equal parts dominant for this offense.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you see the big highlight plays like I said from Denzel Boston in camp.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, if you go back, that's exactly what I expected to be the case.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: I said from the beginning.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: We said on this show, Denzel Boston is going to be your big outside perimeter wider receiver.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: He is going to have the opportunity and make those highlight sideline grabs, the 50 50 catches down the field where he jumps up and does the Mike Evans and comes down with it.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: And that is going to create so much hype on social media.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: Those clips are awesome.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: And there's nothing wrong with that.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: That I don't hear what I'm saying.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: Casey concepts the own, though, in practice from what I've been reading and seeing and everything.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's doing exactly what I expect what the Browns have to do with him.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: You scheme up ways, quick ways to get the ball in his hands so that he can use his insane ability after the catch.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: That is his, that is his superpower, creating yards, creating plays after the catch.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's got to have the ball in his hands.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: and then watch out, watch the magic happen.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I am actually very pleased with everything I've read and seen about these two rookie wide receivers for the Browns because they're doing exactly what I anticipated them to do.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel Boston is going to make those big plays on the outside down the field.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: That is his calling card.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: Casey Conception is not going to get all the highlight plays, especially from these type of training or many camps and stuff where they're in shorts, because he'll catch a quick slant and immediately, you know, cornerbacks going up.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: pull up because he can't hit him.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: So so that's that's the end of the play right there and it's it's nothing exciting to watch on a on a clip on social media just isn't so they're not going to post them they're not going to worry about it but those are the type of plays that go for big yards if he breaks a tackle so when that corner back comes into hit him if you put to move on the guy or breaks the tackle it's going to go for big plays in a game so I guess what
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: don't underestimate KC conception just because we're seeing all the big highlight videos of Denzel Boston.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: You can be excited for Denzel Boston, please, by all means, do it.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: Be excited for Denzel Boston.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for Denzel Boston, but don't do it at the expense of your expectations for KC conception, okay?
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's all I'm saying.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think both guys are going to be very good.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: really making big plays so far.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's been much improved from last year.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like he has expanded his route trees and been working on his craft.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: They say he added about 15 pounds of muscle.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: You see photos of him from in-game last year and he's a small receiver.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's just he's then he's slight.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: And now you see some pictures and stuff from him at practice now and
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a little more rocked up.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a little thicker frame on him.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: And you can see the muscle that he has added.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: So I think the Browns have a really good trio of wider sewers.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: I see people are calling it the BBC.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: The Boston Bond Concepción.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's the nickname.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, whatever all I know is we do have three very young wider sewers.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Isaiah Bond is younger even than Denzel Boston, which is crazy.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the future, let's put it this way, a past that has been dark for Brown's wider seaver because we haven't had much to speak of, the future looks bright, will it come to fruition?
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: Gosh, I hope so, man, I really do, I really do, because I'm tired of not having any freaking talent on this offense and I think we got it.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think we do, Jerry Judy, I don't know why I mean we're talking about wider severs,
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: So Judy practice Tuesday, Wednesday, not on the field yesterday for the finale on Thursday.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Asked about it after practice.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was kind of funny, Todd Monk and said that he wouldn't comment on injuries, but then they asked why Jerry Judy wasn't at practice yesterday and Monk and said that he felt something with a hamstring prior to the practice and the team decided,
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: not worth it, not worth the risk right now or this is the last day and then we got summer break and then training camp like just sit this one out.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: So apparently a little bit of a hamstring with Jerry Judy.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: So that'll be worth monitoring when training camp starts next month as he full go or as he if he's limited when training camp starts and this will be a
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think it is, but right now I don't anticipate that being a big deal for Jared duty, but the big thing Todd Monk and said, there will be no veteran days of rest for anybody.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: So, and I guess that speaks to something else that I jacks and said, which I'll get to, but really are very many veterans on this team, anyhow, who would even be thinking about a veteran's day of rest.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: So let's move on here.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm one last thing with the wider seers.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: anything really about Senator Tillman.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: Have you guys?
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: I seriously comments.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: What have I missed?
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen anything.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen a highlight.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen anybody post that he's looking good or making plays now field or big catcher.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: anything.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: I forget that he's even on the team right now because no one talks about it.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's the other four guys I just mentioned.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: Plus the tightends that were getting involved, obviously the running backs, Aaron Anderson, the UDFA receiver, Gates Larver Dan, Luke Floria, our Kent State Boyd from last year, making some noise here in camp.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen anything about Cetric Tilman.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: maybe that's just me, but you guys let me know if you have as well.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: Um, okay, I'm just going to kind of look through my notes here.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: The only guy that Todd Munkin did comment on for an injury was Malik Collins.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: So that day, Wednesday, when he said, I'm not going to comment on player injuries right now, but I anticipate everybody being healthy for training camp.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: Reporter asked him, well, what about Malik Collins?
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: He said, okay, except for Malik Collins.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's the only exception I don't, if he didn't say this, but I mean, basically what he was saying is,
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: Don't anticipate Millie Collins being ready to go right at the start of training camp, but everything I've read, everybody I've listened to, they expect him to be ready at least for the season, the start of the season.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think later in training camp, we'll start to see more things out of Millie Collins.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: Bye.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: yesterday, day three, mini camp.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: There wasn't a whole lot to speak of.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: It was, um, when Zach Jackson called it like more of a dress rehearsal kind of, it was more along the lines of a Friday practice before a game.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: where it's not really full go.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of walk through period.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we're going to do some tea.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: They did some team drills, but the intensity wasn't really there.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody described it as an atmosphere like the last day of school, and it was the last day of spring program before summer break.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was more of a, let's just rehearse a couple of things here.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: We'll fine tune some concepts that we've been working on.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then you guys get off into your break.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that was more of the approach to the finale for mini camp.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: And everything Zach Jackson did say to Sean Watts, obviously started off with the first team in the 111-11.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: But then Shador Sanders ended up getting more and more reps as the practice went along.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: trying to think if there's any other specific notes I want to talk about from many can't be yesterday, not really.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: There really wasn't a ton.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: Guys who did not practice it was the same pretty much every day so you had Mason Graham of course walking boot then no walking boot so at least he's improving.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: Dom Jones, Daniel Thomas, Emmanuel McNeill Warren, Harold Fanon Jr. against, though with the groin injury, not Joe Royer.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: It was Carson Ryan, the rookie tight end who didn't practice the last few days.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel Ward grants Alpec Khalia Davis, another defensive tackle, not practicing.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, as far as you're like, when you're talking about first team offense, who's running what, who's doing this?
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta remember, too, the first team defensive line.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: Who is it?
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, Jared Verstart of Practicing This Week, which was great.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: He definitely displayed his ability to get pressure on the quarterback.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: You got Isaiah McGuire, Alex, right out there.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: Defensive Tackle, there's nobody.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: There's no starting defensive tackles available for the Browns right now.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Hall's your top guy.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: And after that, you're looking at what Sam Kamera and probably some of the UDFA guys.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: to take everything with a great assault.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it is spring practice.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: They are in shorts.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: There are things to watch for.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: There are things not to overreact about.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: I see people.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny how a lot of people in comments and social media, they use different just the same justification to justify, whichever take they have.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: For example,
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: Shidorah Sanders completes a nice pass down the field of Denzel Boston.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Schmoth says, Pfft, cares.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Who cares?
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: They're in shorts.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: Who cares?
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: There's no pass rush.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: Who cares?
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Next video clip.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: Shidorah Sanders and a walkthrough throws them all over the middle of the field or over the middle of the line right into the outstretched hand of Michael.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's a down in complete pass.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Schmell, he sucks, he sucks, he's terrible.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: I thought you just said it was no big deal because it's just a shorts practice and there's no pass rush.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: Which is it?
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: Which is it?
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: But, Joe Schmell cracks me up because there's a lot of him out there.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, we're just kind of leaving it at that.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: You guys know a whole bunch of Joe Schmell's, I'm sure.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of talk about this real quick.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: There's not a ton here.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: I've kind of already mentioned some of the notes from this.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_01]: But he one thing that he said in there that I thought was interesting, and I agree with.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: I really do agree with, and I wanna bring it to you guys here.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: Cautioning fans, myself included, because I'm a fan.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: Jackson Caussians us to temper our expectations for the Browns here in 2026.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: Due to the fact, now he's not saying we're gonna suck.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, he's not saying it's a one-wind team, but he's saying just there are people out there like, oh, we're gonna win 12 games this year.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's just, I get it, guys.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to two, man, I am.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: But here's what he said.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: On the 90 man roster right now, we got a 90 man practice roster.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: They cut down to 53 obviously in late August.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: On the 90 man roster right now, 90 players.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: 90.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: Almost 100.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know how many of those players are 30 years old or older?
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: Five.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Five players out of 90 on this roster are 30 years old or older.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: You got tights Howard, Elkton Jenkins, Malik Collins, Michael Burton, who is the full back if you guys aren't familiar and to Sean Watson, who's going to be 31 in September.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's it, five players out of 90 who are over 30 years old.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's a really, really young.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a bad thing.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's a match your expectations with the reality type of thing.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: And he says that when the Browns cut down to 53, don't be surprised.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: He said, there's very real possibility that between 25 to 30 players on that 53 man roster.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: So half of the team, half of the team will have just two years or fewer of experience in the NFL.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: So what the reality is with the Cleveland Browns right now.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: What you're looking at is a very young, very inexperienced roster talented.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: I believe, I believe it's talented, it's young talent.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's still developing talent.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where the temper, the expectation, come from.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for the growth of the team.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for the young players that we have on this roster.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: But it might be a two year grind to maximize the aggregate of all of this young talent.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: a locked in, veteran, wide receiver one who's a stud and this is going to be like a seventh year in the season and you know he's wide receiver one, he's a go-to guy and you know you've got a third fourth year running back who's maybe going into his contract season and he's played at a high level and your quarterbacks been around for a few years.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: but then you infuse a rookie tight-end, another rookie receiver, a rookie left tackle.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Some of that, then it's different than having all of those positions be, first or second year guys.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I totally agree with Zach Jackson on that point.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, let's just, maybe there's a good point here.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: We'll take a quick break, come back, I got a voice mount up play.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about quarterbacks, and we'll wrap it up.

- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I lied I got two voicemails and the first one here's from Brad and I'm pretty sure he's gonna open us up with us on.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_00]: at least squelched.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: We have traded miles, Garrett, Jaredverse, and Zepix.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: Man, initially, first, I was pretty upset of us trading, you know, the best defensive end in the league.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: But when you look at it, miles is never a leader and a voice in a locker room and complain a little bit more than you would have liked, but still, best player on the defense by far.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: you know we might have a future leader and that's good too and then we have all the other drama tail and Gabriel's number you know the quarterback battle line battle that's gonna be interesting all season and training camp and I'm looking forward to all the dilulu and the funness all right let's go guys let's get it let's go browns woo woo
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there you go.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: You can always count on Brad for a nice song here on a Friday morning or by time you guys will listen this Friday afternoon.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, Miles Garrett thing we talked about that.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about Jared verse.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: I do think Jared verse is going to be immediately a leader on this team.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: Not just a leader on the defense, but a leader on this team.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: You listen to everything, the LA, you know, the Rams coaches have said about him former players, teammates,
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: people that have been around him.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_01]: Just listen to him talk.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: Listen to the way he addresses the media.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: The the kid is a leader.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_01]: He is a trueborn leader and you know, when I say that Miles Garrett was not a not a real leader, I'm not saying that I don't say that anyway.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: maybe Brad men at this way.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, Brad, you let me know, man.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean it in a disrespectful way.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean it in a like I'm going to knock on Miles Garrett because he's gone type of away.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: We said that the whole time he was here, this dude's not a leader and that's not, it's just not just personality.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: Some people just are not leaders.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: They're, you know, there are leaders, there are followers.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: There are people that lead the way and then there are people that follow the way
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Garrett was able to go out on the field and just dominate, but when it came to Ra-Ra rally, the team around me, let's get everybody hyped and focused in, you know, I'm going to bring everybody together in the locker room.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have some come to Jesus moments and kick some at like, that wasn't Miles Garrett.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's not his personality.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of the way everybody wanted Kevin's to fanski to be hooting in Holland and breaking clipboards and smashing headsets on the
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not his personality.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't want these people to be fake.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: We may not like that they lack certain personality traits that we wish they had, but you also can't force them to have those traits if they don't have them.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I think Jared Vers is going to be a great addition to this team very excited to have the young man.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: on the roster.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, Brad, yes, the drama about the quarterback situation, we can talk about that here.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: So, Brad, Brad, you guys got to follow Brad.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's inch-wifty on X.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: He loves to go at Ken Carmen.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: And the other day, you know, I'm sitting at home with the kids drinking my morning coffee.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: You're just scrolling my morning Twitter, getting some content ready for the day.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: And here's Ken Carmen on 92-3 the fan talking about how, if Todd Monkons not ready to name a starter, then neither of these guys must be very good.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 48:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like K. Hang on a second.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: So just because Todd Munkin didn't name a starter in spring practices means both guys suck.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I said that.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_01]: I retweeted that.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: I quoted it.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: I commented like, what do you why?
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: Why does that automatically mean they suck from everything that I have seen?
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: Everything I've read has said that both guys have looked good.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, both guys have had their moments, both guys have made their mistakes.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: And one thing I want to remind everybody, including Ken Carvin, I guess, apparently, come on media people out there.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: You guys got to understand, we're gonna talk about this here for just a second.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys don't want to talk about quarterback's turn me off now, because here we go.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_01]: This is practice.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: This is spring practice.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: This is Insta Freak in Lation Time.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: We have a brand new head coach, all new offensive coaches, a whole new offensive system that these guys are trying to learn in our Cleveland media acts like these quarterbacks should be freaking perfect at practice.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: If they throw one pass that's behind a receiver, one pass over somebody's head or it hits the ground,
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: They suck, they suck.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: It, no listen.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_01]: I guess maybe we'll start out with this to here.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: You guys know how I feel.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I always say I'm not gonna go into the fields, but here we go.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: Zach Jackson agrees to me.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: I read it in his article today.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now you know a point in playing to Sean Watson.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: There's none.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: You got a young team, young roster.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: The future is tomorrow, not now, and it sure is how it isn't yesterday.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: It makes no sense to play to Sean Watson.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: None, zero.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: Shoulder Sanders.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's the only one that makes sense to play.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_01]: Do I believe he has untapped potential and untapped ceiling that we don't know what it is yet?
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: Have I ever said that he is, I guarantee he's gonna be the future or, you know, this top glee quarterback?
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's why I want to see him play because I don't know.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_01]: I want to know, I wanna know for sure.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: Before I invest potentially two first round, we had this conversation last year.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, it's like Groundhog Day around here.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: Before I invest two first round picks next year, potentially in getting my quarterback,
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: In the draft, I want to make damn sure that this guy's not good.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: If he's not good, I bet I need to know for sure that he's not good in if you think, well, I already know he's not good, fine, whatever, just then please just turn this off.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: If you already think that he's not good, you already know for sure than whatever.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_01]: You don't understand, obviously, what happened last year.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: And how the team was and everything, but he's got, we've got to know.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: We've got to be able to end 2026 saying, yeah, he's not it.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_01]: He's not it.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go get the guy in 27, because if we end 2026 going, well, I don't know, I don't know, he showed some signs, but he only got to start five games or something like that.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, we've just done the Cleveland thing again, where we just don't give young quarterbacks a fair shot before they're on them to the curb.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: What is the most realistic outcome for the Browns in this quarterback situation?
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: Don't kill me for saying this, anybody out there, but I think the realistic fans will agree.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: The most realistic outcome is we're drafting quarterback in 27.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I only say that because of history, because of history, history in the NFL, history on this team.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I hope it should or I want it to be should or man if you get that if your quarterback can be a guy that's on a fifth round rookie deal you can do some pretty cool things in free agency next year or trades get some players in here and then next year could all of a sudden be pretty sweet.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why it makes more sense to play him but you know going back to the Ken Carmen thing I obviously pissed him off it's funny because he's doing a show.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's he's doing an on air radio show, but it must be like commercial breaks.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's checking Twitter and then he sees that I posted something so he's firing back of me.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: He says, Oh, you must just need engagement.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: I know you need your engagement, but you need to relax.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: Ken, buddy.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need to engage my man, okay?
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: If I say something, it's because I mean it.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, I never fake anything.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying something that I don't believe or I don't truly feel just for the sake of doing it.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't understand why, this speaks to the whole Cleveland media with this quarterback situation.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: Negativeity, quarterback drama,
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: that type of rhetoric is really all they seem to know.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: And this whole time I've said, I think we've said all of us on this podcast, it doesn't make sense to force the issue right now.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's spring practice.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking April, May, June, there's no pads.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's really nothing.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_01]: This is all preparation trying to understand
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're not really doing anything super serious right now, but the Cleveland media is like demanding Todd Munk and you will name a starting quarterback and then when Todd Munk is like, yeah, I'm just not there yet.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, oh, boy, most both suck.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munk and Kenny of a name one of them, the quarterback.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, these guys are terrible.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a bad year for the Browns.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like training camp will tell us a lot.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_01]: If these guys struggle in training camp when the pads come on, okay, we got some stuff to worry about, probably.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: But, me from everything I read in Saul, both guys had great moments, Todd Munkins said, Chador Sanders has continued to develop, freaking Mary K. Cabot, who by the way was trying to force Todd Munkins in the name to Sean Watson, the QB, one back in April,
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: before the draft even happened.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: She was trying to do that.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: Crazy.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: Now she's even saying, oh, but she's or Sanders has really come on strong here over the second half of the spring program.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't understand it like Ken, you say that your, you know, 92-3 the fan, their beat reporter that was that, he wouldn't even tell me who it was.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but now I have other media people saying, but Shidorah Sanders has come on strong and looked really good over the second half of the spring program.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: Lance Wiesland, saying, you know, to Sean Watson has looked pretty good, but then I got his act, Jackson saying, now he looks about the same as he did in 2024.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: Here's what I'm gonna say.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that Todd Monkon has not named a starting quarterback yet is not an indictment on the quarterback room.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: Does it mean one of these guys is going to be a high level starter?
- 56:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, doesn't mean both guys just suck?
- 56:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, it means it's freaking spring practice, guys.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_01]: And we've said on this show for months, it makes no damn sense to name a starting quarterback when you've got a quarterback competition going on, why rush the decision in the spring before you get a fair evaluation of the guys in training camp over the summer when things are actually happening.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_01]: So the quarterback battle will continue as we expected.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: The media apparently was either not expecting it, or just so hell bent on us having a guy named that now they're mad about it and they're just gonna throw both dudes under the bus because I don't know, I guess it's popular or something.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't mean to go on that long of a tangent.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: I promised myself I wasn't going to do a super long episode today.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_01]: And here we are pushing an hour.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I appreciate you guys sticking with me.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, sometimes I can get long-winded.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_01]: But this, the Cleveland media drives me nuts.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I know it drives you guys nuts too.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's why you're listening to this right now.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_01]: And other podcasts and other content creators that aren't the legacy, Cleveland media that are just terrible, man.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_01]: They're just so bad.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever, I got one less voicemail here from Jersey Justin.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, scratch that.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_01]: Not gonna do Justin's voicemail on the show today because he did an in-depth schedule prediction which I want to save for a future episode here over the break.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: We'll do some schedule talk, record prediction type things as well.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's interesting, Justin.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry, buddy.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: I got your saved.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_01]: I will be playing that voicemail here in the near future.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_01]: But thank you, everybody, for tuning in today.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I'm sorry if I get long-winded or anything, just tell me in the comments, dude, wrap it up, shut it up, whatever, you know, I can take it.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_01]: So, no big deal.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_01]: Love you guys.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.

- 58:57[SPEAKER_01]: The autograph packages, I think, are $200 a piece.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to be live streaming.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_01]: So make sure you guys hang out with us in the chat, during the event, if you can't make it, if you just want to hang out during the day.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then, actually, I guess that's it.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right, that's all my announcements.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's all my wrap up.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_01]: Man, it's Friday.
