- 0:08Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure you like it from your wife
- 0:10Speaker 3: when she rubs your belly, But if I would walk
- 0:13Speaker 3: up to you and rub your belly, you probably feel
- 0:15Speaker 3: a little uncomfortable. I mean I did grab Sean's ass
- 0:18Speaker 3: one day at the holiday show.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Okay, point anyway, Damn, as.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Long as you know the person you like your belly, bro.
- 0:25Speaker 3: If it's just some complete stranger, then that's a different story.
- 0:29Speaker 5: Oh your grass.

- 0:56Speaker 4: your news. Let's get it.
- 0:57Speaker 5: Uh huh, good time for JC.
- 1:01Speaker 4: There'll all be good news today, and the good.
- 1:03Speaker 5: News this goes This guy gotta put his name on everything.
- 1:05Speaker 4: It's in my contracted Here's.
- 1:06Speaker 5: The news on the Jim Colber Show.
- 1:09Speaker 6: Are you aware of the nature of news?
- 1:13Speaker 4: That's why I'm saying find better news, make better news.
- 1:16Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, I'm going to get right on that, all right.
- 1:19Speaker 7: JCS News is brought to you by that mortgage guy Don.
- 1:23Speaker 7: The US consulate in Dubai has been hit by an
- 1:25Speaker 7: Iranian drone. The compound is on fire, but it's not
- 1:28Speaker 7: known if there are any injuries. Online images show black
- 1:31Speaker 7: smoke coming from the building. For those who don't know,
- 1:34Speaker 7: Dubai is a city and the United Arab Emirates will
- 1:36Speaker 7: continue to keep an eye on this story. Word that
- 1:40Speaker 7: the son of Benjamin Netan Yahoo lives in Broward County
- 1:43Speaker 7: has attracted global attention since the start of Operation Epic Fury.
- 1:47Speaker 7: Yahyir net and Yahoo has been living in a luxury
- 1:50Speaker 7: apartment tower in Helendale Beach since January twenty twenty four,
- 1:54Speaker 7: and political science expert doctor Sean Foreman says reports that
- 1:58Speaker 7: he is a kidnapping target should not be ignored.
- 2:02Speaker 8: Reports are in international press sources, not in US media,
- 2:07Speaker 8: so it may be more speculation from the world community,
- 2:11Speaker 8: but nonetheless, local officials absolutely should be on high alert.
- 2:15Speaker 7: Yeah, here is reportedly protected by Israel's security agency shin Bett,
- 2:19Speaker 7: and maybe on a list of potential targets for Iran,
- 2:23Speaker 7: due to which security around the Israeli podcaster and political
- 2:26Speaker 7: activist is said to be really.
- 2:28Speaker 6: Intense and very expensive, very expensive.
- 2:31Speaker 7: Some sources have been saying, hey, maybe at risk of
- 2:33Speaker 7: abduction amid Operation Epic Fury, but there's been no comment
- 2:36Speaker 7: from authorities so far. And of course the bigger concern
- 2:39Speaker 7: is that he's in South Florida, closer proximity to Cuba,
- 2:42Speaker 7: which could be a place for them to operate out of.
- 2:44Speaker 9: Maybe he and all of the Trump kids should hang
- 2:46Speaker 9: out at mar Lago, keep them all safe, and then
- 2:49Speaker 9: you could just have one security for.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Him watch them all.
- 2:52Speaker 10: Now.
- 2:52Speaker 4: I think Hallidell is like north of Fort Lauderdale. I
- 2:54Speaker 4: believe it is. I mean, he's kind of far away
- 2:56Speaker 4: from the I don't know how far away you use
- 2:58Speaker 4: from our lago. But my grandfather actually lived in Hollando
- 3:00Speaker 4: for a while. Oh really, yeah, all right?
- 3:02Speaker 7: Well. US Central Command says the Iranian regime is using
- 3:05Speaker 7: mobile launchers to indiscriminately fire missiles in an attempt to
- 3:10Speaker 7: inflict maximum harm across the region. In a post on
- 3:13Speaker 7: x Tampa based sent Com said, US forces are hunting
- 3:16Speaker 7: these threats down in quote, without apology or hesitation. We
- 3:20Speaker 7: are taking them out end quote. The post also includes
- 3:23Speaker 7: video showing bombs obliterating the launchers, both mobile and stationary. Overnight,
- 3:28Speaker 7: sent Coom said bombs have destroyed Islamic Revolutionary Guard core
- 3:31Speaker 7: command and control facilities, Iranian air defense capabilities, missile and
- 3:36Speaker 7: drone launch sites, and military airfields all right back here
- 3:40Speaker 7: at home. Stocks are sharply lower on Wall Street as
- 3:43Speaker 7: the conflict in the Middle East rages on. The Dow
- 3:46Speaker 7: Jones Industrial Average at one point had been down over
- 3:49Speaker 7: twelve hundred points today, Florida International University professor of Finance
- 3:54Speaker 7: Dan Butchie says the market is reacting to the uncertainty.
- 3:58Speaker 4: As a result, you don't know if there's going to
- 4:00Speaker 4: be extended period of time, more loss of life. And
- 4:04Speaker 4: what's worse is the chance that it can hit multinational
- 4:09Speaker 4: companies you know abroad.
- 4:11Speaker 7: Plus so much of our oil comes from the Middle East.
- 4:13Speaker 7: To this instability will also cause prices to spike. She says,
- 4:17Speaker 7: we saw a similar market reaction after nine to eleven
- 4:19Speaker 7: and most investors who are in the market for the
- 4:22Speaker 7: long haul. We have heard Scott Brown with Edgewater Family
- 4:25Speaker 7: Wealth tell us this over and over again. If you're
- 4:28Speaker 7: in it for the long haul, just ride it out.
- 4:31Speaker 7: But speaking of writing it out, if you're like me
- 4:33Speaker 7: and you have to fillip for gas, oh, we haven't noticed.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Three nineteen last night? Guys, how much three dollars and
- 4:39Speaker 4: nineteen cents last night?
- 4:40Speaker 9: On the way home last night? On the way home,
- 4:42Speaker 9: I plea I paid? Guess what I paid?
- 4:44Speaker 4: No, no, you hear the flex I'm going to say
- 4:46Speaker 4: two forty one. No, my god, it sixty two. Let's go,
- 4:51Speaker 4: let's go. Yeah, and that's all those that what is
- 4:54Speaker 4: it BJ's.
- 4:55Speaker 9: And then the BJ's credit card on top of that
- 4:57Speaker 9: another fifteen says.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Again his love language.
- 5:01Speaker 7: But in case you haven't noticed, gas prices across the
- 5:04Speaker 7: region are sharply higher since the start of Operation Epic Fury.
- 5:07Speaker 7: Now Triple A says the state wide average jump nearly
- 5:10Speaker 7: twenty cents a gallon, and the last twenty four hours
- 5:13Speaker 7: to three oh seven a gallon. That's twenty one cents
- 5:15Speaker 7: higher than a week ago. But again, ever since yesterday,
- 5:18Speaker 7: we've had listeners texting us at seven seven zero three
- 5:21Speaker 7: one saying it's closer to what you paid, Jimmy, or
- 5:23Speaker 7: what you saw three nineteen nineteen cents.
- 5:26Speaker 9: I saw that odd lead up three nineteen right across
- 5:28Speaker 9: the street from the Beja. Really we're looking at that
- 5:30Speaker 9: difference on like seconds exactly.
- 5:34Speaker 4: That's the best mood he's been in in a month,
- 5:36Speaker 4: I know, pumping two dollars and sixty cent gas while
- 5:41Speaker 4: watching other people pump gas that's seventy And then at
- 5:45Speaker 4: the end, I'm like, what did I just say? Four
- 5:46Speaker 4: bucks tops exactly?
- 5:49Speaker 6: But you did get dinner and a show. Yeah, so
- 5:52Speaker 6: there you go.
- 5:53Speaker 7: Triple A's Mark Jenkins says there's no problem with supply.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Again here comes this word, but the uncertainty in global
- 5:59Speaker 7: marks oil market specifically is having an impact.
- 6:03Speaker 11: Oil prices increase on Monday, and so that was likely
- 6:07Speaker 11: a contributor to higher prices at the pump. Now we're
- 6:11Speaker 11: seeing another round of rising oil prices on Tuesday, which
- 6:15Speaker 11: means that we're likely to see even more increases at
- 6:18Speaker 11: the pump in the coming day.
- 6:19Speaker 7: So if you have to fill up, do it sooner
- 6:21Speaker 7: rather than later. Still, Jenkins says driver shouln't jump to
- 6:23Speaker 7: conclusions in panic. He says, this is the usual time
- 6:26Speaker 7: of the year when gas prices tend to be at
- 6:28Speaker 7: their highest anyway because of demand.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Right, you got spring break?
- 6:31Speaker 9: And what I love this when they said they switched
- 6:34Speaker 9: to the summer blend.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Sits to a more expensive summer blend. There you go, Jack, Hey.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Good call on that one.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Now with more lemon, Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Can be mango ready, mango heay's great?
- 6:48Speaker 4: All right.
- 6:48Speaker 7: A former police officer from Lake County is set to
- 6:51Speaker 7: die by lethal injection. Governor Ron De Santis signed the
- 6:54Speaker 7: death warrant Friday. Pay attention to this name for former
- 6:58Speaker 7: Mascot police officer James Duckett. He raped and killed an
- 7:02Speaker 7: eleven year old girl back in nineteen eighty seven. The
- 7:05Speaker 7: sixty eight year old will be put to death March
- 7:07Speaker 7: thirty first. Meanwhile, the state plans to execute Billy Leon
- 7:11Speaker 7: Kurse today. The fifty three year old killed a police
- 7:14Speaker 7: officer in Fort Pierce in nineteen ninety one. The Duckett
- 7:18Speaker 7: case is fascinating because the way that they busted him
- 7:21Speaker 7: was pretty interesting. He was the only Mascot police officer
- 7:24Speaker 7: that was on duty that night.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Oh really, that that eleven year old child went missing.
- 7:29Speaker 7: Not only that, the tire tracks near the lake where
- 7:31Speaker 7: he had dumped her body were made by one of
- 7:33Speaker 7: two sets of Goodyear Eagles snow tires that the Mascot
- 7:37Speaker 7: Police Department had put on two of their patrol cars. Wow,
- 7:41Speaker 7: snow tires in the state of Florida. Also, do you
- 7:43Speaker 7: recognize the name Duckett.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that's when Melinda Duckett. Yeah, well oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 4: the girl who well, they she killed herself in a closet,
- 7:52Speaker 4: but her son, Trenton duckferent and Duckett went missing and
- 7:55Speaker 4: they still don't know where he is. They never found it.
- 7:57Speaker 7: That's his grandfather, no way, this is Trenton Duckett's grandfather.
- 8:02Speaker 4: So that that hold, that thing's in the family. Dude,
- 8:05Speaker 4: that crazy is in that family. Now.
- 8:06Speaker 7: What what's interesting is that because he was already on
- 8:10Speaker 7: death row for this young girl's murder, he is not
- 8:12Speaker 7: considered a suspect in Trenton Duckett's disappearance. I believe who's
- 8:15Speaker 7: been missing since two thousand and six and has never
- 8:18Speaker 7: been found.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah, she killed herself in the closet of her house.
- 8:22Speaker 4: After he had been missing for days. Then when they
- 8:24Speaker 4: questioned her, she couldn't come up with any answers.
- 8:26Speaker 6: That she wouldn't answer.
- 8:29Speaker 7: Yes, oh yeah, that's the family had sued Nancy Grace
- 8:31Speaker 7: and said that it was her who had driven the
- 8:34Speaker 7: mother to commit suicide.
- 8:35Speaker 4: They never found the body of that kid.
- 8:37Speaker 6: So what if there or anything of what happened.
- 8:39Speaker 9: What if the grandfather was covering for someone else in
- 8:42Speaker 9: the family who did both of those?
- 8:43Speaker 7: Good lord, yeah, exactly, I mean it is just still right.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Speculate and confirm that's you two Yeah, with no comment.
- 8:57Speaker 6: Jim at Real Radio. Yeah, Deborah does not do that,
- 9:00Speaker 6: all right.
- 9:00Speaker 7: A Valusia County deputy, this is another crazy story if
- 9:03Speaker 7: Valusia County deputy thankfully is recovering after he was shot
- 9:07Speaker 7: twice during a battery investigation. Sheriff Mike Chitwood says Deputy
- 9:12Speaker 7: Jose Rivera was shot in the leg and shoulder Monday
- 9:15Speaker 7: afternoon while investigating a battery incident on Candler Drive in Deltona.
- 9:20Speaker 7: Not only that, the sheriff says, the deputy's body camera
- 9:23Speaker 7: may have saved his life.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Here was a chess shot and absolutely so. On top
- 9:28Speaker 4: of the full.
- 9:28Speaker 12: Professed you got this name, and again, I think what
- 9:31Speaker 12: it does is if you.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Looked at it the top part, it looks like it
- 9:35Speaker 5: the flexing and sends.
- 9:37Speaker 4: That's the round that goes through his should.
- 9:39Speaker 12: Another round that goes through is dying.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Wow.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Now here's the crazy part about this story.
- 9:44Speaker 7: Yeah, Jack, No, the crazy thing about this story is
- 9:47Speaker 7: that that's a recent change the Vlusia County Sheriff's office.
- 9:51Speaker 7: Their deputies had warned their body worn cameras in a
- 9:53Speaker 7: completely different location just six months ago.
- 9:56Speaker 9: Well, they had the shoulder mounts and then they switched
- 9:59Speaker 9: to a new camera style and they said they liked
- 10:01Speaker 9: it better.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Right, you get a better field of view.
- 10:05Speaker 9: So they keep it right in the center of the
- 10:07Speaker 9: chest and it took out the top corner and they
- 10:09Speaker 9: think then the round ricochet and went through his shoulder.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Damn, dude, that is so crazy because it was a
- 10:14Speaker 4: straight up chest shot.
- 10:15Speaker 7: Imagine that decision you make six months ago ends up
- 10:18Speaker 7: saving one of your deputies lives.
- 10:21Speaker 9: And his partner who he sent around back was it
- 10:24Speaker 9: was his eighth day on the job.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Oh week.
- 10:29Speaker 7: But you know, kudos to his fellow deputies because they
- 10:31Speaker 7: said that they pulled him out of the line of fire.
- 10:34Speaker 7: After he'd been shot, they dragged him to safety and
- 10:37Speaker 7: then they put him in their own patrol cars and
- 10:39Speaker 7: then drove him to the hospital where then he was
- 10:40Speaker 7: air flighted to a hospital in Daytona.
- 10:42Speaker 4: What's the battery thing? What are you talking about?
- 10:44Speaker 6: Like they know the actual camera? Like if you know?
- 10:47Speaker 4: But you said that he was investigating something to do with.
- 10:49Speaker 7: Battery, investigation of domestic violence. Yeah, yeah, yeah, So Deputy.
- 10:54Speaker 9: Riverta, should we demonstrate a battery?
- 10:59Speaker 4: Why?
- 10:59Speaker 6: I'm all ready, I'll show you, all right.
- 11:04Speaker 7: Deputy Rivera is being treated at a nearby hospital, as
- 11:07Speaker 7: Sheriff Chitwood said yesterday that he was feeling good enough
- 11:10Speaker 7: to joke around with the medical staff that was treating him,
- 11:12Speaker 7: which is really really good news. The suspect, thirty one
- 11:15Speaker 7: year old Luis Diaz Polonco, We've heard this so many times,
- 11:18Speaker 7: who has a history of mental illness, is in custody
- 11:21Speaker 7: and has been denied bond.
- 11:23Speaker 4: All right, oh this next story? All right? Do you
- 11:28Speaker 4: have a kid? No?
- 11:29Speaker 7: I just I hate I just yeah, but it's all
- 11:32Speaker 7: over Miami Dade County.
- 11:34Speaker 6: Man is pleading guilty.
- 11:36Speaker 7: He's also a former Air Force contractor to what federal
- 11:39Speaker 7: prosecutors called sadistic activities.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Coral Gables.
- 11:43Speaker 7: Francisco Javier Ravello pled guilty yesterday to distributing videos depicting
- 11:49Speaker 7: the torture of monkeys.
- 11:52Speaker 4: What's prosecutors say.
- 11:54Speaker 7: They're called crush videos, and they show monkeys, among many
- 11:57Speaker 7: different animals, being sexually abused, burned, and mutilated for the
- 12:02Speaker 7: sexual gratification of the clients. Now, this is the part
- 12:04Speaker 7: that really really frosts my flakes. Think of this story
- 12:08Speaker 7: that Jimmy did yesterday about the guy stealing baseball cards
- 12:12Speaker 7: using taco spice packets as a way of getting away
- 12:15Speaker 7: with not paying the true costs. Right, Jimmy again, how
- 12:18Speaker 7: much time is that man facing behind bars for stealing
- 12:22Speaker 7: baseball cards using ninety nine cent spice packets.
- 12:25Speaker 4: It's like ninety years or something because each one of
- 12:28Speaker 4: those things it turned out in like ten thousand dollars.
- 12:30Speaker 4: But it's it's how they did it or whatever it did.
- 12:33Speaker 4: It was like forty fifty eighty years something weird like that.
- 12:36Speaker 7: Well, Ravello allegedly distributed more than forty such videos and
- 12:40Speaker 7: he faces up to a poultry seven years in prison.
- 12:44Speaker 7: You can get ninety years for ripping off baseball cards
- 12:48Speaker 7: seven years for torturing other sentient creatures.
- 12:52Speaker 9: Was he doing the torturing or just sharing the videos.
- 12:56Speaker 6: That part, well, he says, distributing videos.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Giving so still.
- 13:01Speaker 9: I guess to him he kind of probably rationalized as victim, was, Hey,
- 13:05Speaker 9: I'm not the one art.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Yeah exactly, I guess. I don't know. He's creating the
- 13:09Speaker 4: market for you the exact. Yeah, exactly, all right.
- 13:12Speaker 7: One city in Marion County won't be taking part in
- 13:15Speaker 7: legal action against CSX, at least for now. The Danellan
- 13:18Speaker 7: City Council voted yesterday not to join Marion Counties nuisance
- 13:22Speaker 7: Abatement injunction against the company for last month's rail tire fire.
- 13:27Speaker 7: The city council voted to table the issue and revisit
- 13:30Speaker 7: it again next week.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Now.
- 13:31Speaker 7: Since the fire, several residents have been worried about chemical exposure.
- 13:34Speaker 7: A lot of residents said they're sick, their family is sick,
- 13:37Speaker 7: their children are sick, and two people have filed a
- 13:40Speaker 7: class action lawsuits against the companies who stored those ties.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Really yeah wow, Yeah, that was a mess.
- 13:47Speaker 6: It really was a mess. It really was a mess.
- 13:49Speaker 7: And then there's there is still further concern about you know,
- 13:52Speaker 7: the water that was used to put that fire out,
- 13:54Speaker 7: the creoso that's soaking into the aquifer because it was
- 13:57Speaker 7: such a huge, huge blaze.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Pulled this to talk about today. But there is a
- 14:02Speaker 4: crazy story I think I saw on Newsweek today about
- 14:04Speaker 4: exactly where the water comes from. And there's there are
- 14:07Speaker 4: two aquifers. There's what they call an ice age aquafer
- 14:09Speaker 4: or something like that, and then an aquifer that's the shallow.
- 14:13Speaker 4: The shallow aquifers. They're proving now that people who drink
- 14:17Speaker 4: from those aquifers have a higher chance of getting Parkinson's. Really, yeah,
- 14:21Speaker 4: it's crazy because I didn't know there were multiple. I mean,
- 14:25Speaker 4: you know that there are certain different kinds, but the
- 14:27Speaker 4: ones that are closer to the surface have started to
- 14:29Speaker 4: apparently show some signs that you know, they might not
- 14:32Speaker 4: be as healthy as you may think. And it's things
- 14:35Speaker 4: like these, you know, after one hundred years of industrial revolutions,
- 14:38Speaker 4: you know, and all of the stuff that happens there,
- 14:40Speaker 4: they just spill that stuff out of me. These regulations
- 14:42Speaker 4: just started forty fifty years ago. Yeah, exactly where we're
- 14:45Speaker 4: regulating companies that were doing this kind of thing.
- 14:47Speaker 7: Oh, but don't worry We're not going to be doing
- 14:48Speaker 7: that much much longer anymore. But it is interesting because
- 14:51Speaker 7: that's like the second or third time what I've heard
- 14:54Speaker 7: something to do with water, Yeah, having a direct correlation
- 14:57Speaker 7: to developing Parkinson's, which is something all of I believe
- 15:00Speaker 7: would assume is a genetic issue. Ye, I mean, not
- 15:03Speaker 7: something that would come It's more nature, not nurture.
- 15:06Speaker 4: It's an awkward first. I'll pull the study up and
- 15:08Speaker 4: let you read it. Okay, I'd like to do that,
- 15:10Speaker 4: all right.
- 15:11Speaker 7: This is a continuation to another story that we had
- 15:13Speaker 7: covered before, but Florid Attorney General James uth Meyer is
- 15:17Speaker 7: launching a civil investigation into Jacksonville's former use of gun
- 15:21Speaker 7: logs at two city buildings.
- 15:23Speaker 6: Remember this story gun logs, Yeah, so.
- 15:26Speaker 7: Uth Meyer's office says the logs recorded information on privately
- 15:29Speaker 7: owned firearms for nearly two years, which he argues violates
- 15:34Speaker 7: the state ban on gun registries. The state attorney's office
- 15:38Speaker 7: previously found the practice was improper, but said there was
- 15:40Speaker 7: no criminal intent and declined to file charges. Mayor Donna
- 15:44Speaker 7: Degan's office says those logs were created by one employee
- 15:47Speaker 7: without approval and that the practice ended immediately once it
- 15:51Speaker 7: was discovered. Unfortunately, uth Meyer still smells blood in the water.
- 15:56Speaker 4: All right. The movie theater at orlandos Wait, are they
- 15:58Speaker 4: democrats up there?
- 16:01Speaker 7: The movie theater at Orlando's Fashion Square Mall is closing.
- 16:05Speaker 4: After two decades.
- 16:07Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, Premiere Cinema fourteen.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Yeah, man, he's goo there all the time.
- 16:12Speaker 7: I thanked it's customers for their colonial right, Yeah, yeah,
- 16:15Speaker 7: I'm the Fashion Square mall over the past. How many
- 16:17Speaker 7: years has the Premiere Cinema fourteen been open?
- 16:20Speaker 4: You guys? Hi, Jim work off me. Okay, so hold
- 16:23Speaker 4: on for a second, go ahead. I'm trying to think
- 16:25Speaker 4: of it as the same one. If that's the same
- 16:27Speaker 4: one that's been there forever. I used to go there
- 16:29Speaker 4: and watch Rocky Horror Picture Show. Oh wow, I'll say
- 16:32Speaker 4: seventy two it opened, so fifty four years. I'll go
- 16:40Speaker 4: forty five years, twenty two years. That's it, that's it. Yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 4: that's a win. That's a win, buddy, twenty two years.
- 16:48Speaker 4: It must have rebuilt it or something else, because that
- 16:50Speaker 4: original theater of thereby that mall is there for a while.
- 16:52Speaker 4: We're just talking about the theater, not the mall, right exactly. Theater. Yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 4: it was separate.
- 16:56Speaker 7: Now the closure leaves a void in the mall, which
- 16:58Speaker 7: is up for sale. The theater will shut its doors
- 17:01Speaker 7: on March twelfth. Gift cards will be accepted until then.
- 17:05Speaker 7: So if you have a gift card for that cinema
- 17:07Speaker 7: and you want to get all your dollars out of it, right, Jack.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that was I remember. That used to be across
- 17:12Speaker 4: the parking lot, Jack. But they tore that down and
- 17:14Speaker 4: added to the mall when they did the when they
- 17:16Speaker 4: did the expansion of the mall and replaced I remember
- 17:20Speaker 4: that because they built a whole new food court and everything,
- 17:22Speaker 4: and that entire end of the mall never really caught
- 17:24Speaker 4: on and the theaters were down there. So that would
- 17:26Speaker 4: have been about twenty two years ago. I think I've
- 17:28Speaker 4: been in that mall one time. Yeah life. Oh wow, Man,
- 17:31Speaker 4: I first moved here. That was the hang, That was
- 17:33Speaker 4: the mall. That was the mall.
- 17:34Speaker 8: All right.
- 17:34Speaker 7: Have you guys heard what the latest with the newest
- 17:37Speaker 7: social media trend is?
- 17:39Speaker 4: I don't, but I bet it's dumb.
- 17:40Speaker 13: No.
- 17:41Speaker 7: So, a fourteen year old Pittsburgh area girl is in
- 17:44Speaker 7: the hospital Strike One.
- 17:45Speaker 6: With severe burns Hospitals two.
- 17:48Speaker 7: After she took part in a new fire breathing challenge
- 17:52Speaker 7: on social media involving isopropoul alcohol. The team was intubated
- 17:58Speaker 7: and treated for burns to her face and chest and throat. Now,
- 18:03Speaker 7: this involves putting the alcohol in your mouth and then
- 18:06Speaker 7: blowing it out like you're a fire breathing dragon. But right, so,
- 18:11Speaker 7: in recent weeks, there have been multiple cases of children
- 18:14Speaker 7: injured after allegedly being inspired by trends or stunts online. Take,
- 18:17Speaker 7: for instance, a nine year old in Illinois suffering third
- 18:20Speaker 7: degree burns when a toy he put into the microwave burst.
- 18:25Speaker 4: A seven year old.
- 18:26Speaker 7: Apparently trying to copy the same challenge, ended up in
- 18:29Speaker 7: a coma. That toy company in that case says it's
- 18:32Speaker 7: working with social media companies to remove videos showing misuse
- 18:35Speaker 7: of their product. But parents, in the meantime are being
- 18:37Speaker 7: urged to pay close attention not just to your laundry pods,
- 18:42Speaker 7: but now to what your children have access to when
- 18:45Speaker 7: it comes to household products. Think nail remover, risol, spray,
- 18:51Speaker 7: all that stuff.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Yeah, best case scenario, you get seventy five views. Worst
- 18:56Speaker 4: case scenario, marred for life.
- 18:58Speaker 6: Marred for life.
- 18:59Speaker 7: And that's what they're saying, you know this fourteen year
- 19:00Speaker 7: old girl is that this is These are going to
- 19:02Speaker 7: be lifelong injuries.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Unbelievable.
- 19:06Speaker 7: Hey, we're doing what we can to let parents know
- 19:08Speaker 7: get ahead of the game if you can, right, Yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 7: I guess, and.
- 19:11Speaker 4: That includes your JCS news.
- 19:13Speaker 9: How smarter kids, knuckleheads islands?
- 19:19Speaker 4: All right? Four seven four one. You can't even back
- 19:23Speaker 4: in one second? Stay right there, just one second.
- 19:37Speaker 14: Hey, Jim and Jack, I'm disappointed in you guys. You
- 19:40Speaker 14: guys aren't listening to death. In the story about the
- 19:42Speaker 14: Fashion Square Mall movie theater closing, she literally said two decades.
- 19:48Speaker 14: And then you guys, guess how many years it's been open,
- 19:50Speaker 14: And you guys are like, it's been open for fifty years.
- 19:54Speaker 14: She literally said two decades. Come on, guys, they're thinking
- 19:57Speaker 14: about the mall.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Pater. I thought Jack was trying to pull a fast
- 20:00Speaker 4: but I mean he was gonna put twenty years. But
- 20:02Speaker 4: that was wrong. I didn't even realize I did that.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Yeah you did. Even deb doesn't listen to debt. But
- 20:09Speaker 4: that's to be honest, that's the reason I thought it
- 20:11Speaker 4: was something else because she said it, all right, Welcome
- 20:14Speaker 4: back to the Jim Gober show. We're already one to
- 20:16Speaker 4: four point one. I'm Jim, there's debb.
- 20:17Speaker 6: Oh that's on me.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Sir Jack is here as well. But I tould this
- 20:24Speaker 4: story about a good I was just gonna tell you
- 20:27Speaker 4: what I watched last night? Would you watch last night?
- 20:29Speaker 9: Something that won the Academy Award for Documentary that I
- 20:33Speaker 9: hadn't seen? But then I saw something else about this
- 20:36Speaker 9: guy and it made me want to watch this and
- 20:38Speaker 9: I and you know how.
- 20:39Speaker 4: They got me.
- 20:40Speaker 9: Netflix said this is leaving Netflix soon, so I'm like, oh,
- 20:44Speaker 9: I better watch.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Yeah, sure, yeah, Ken Burns did something or no Free solo?
- 20:49Speaker 4: Oh the Climbing Thing, Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah by Alex Hannold,
- 20:54Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, and Old. How do you watch it? There's
- 20:58Speaker 4: no way I could watch it.
- 20:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:59Speaker 4: I was just thinking, there's no way I can't watch it.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Oh you don't. They show them sleeping on the side
- 21:03Speaker 4: of a mountain. I'm out. Yeah, I gotta tell you
- 21:06Speaker 4: that's the safest part. It's just when he's just hanging
- 21:08Speaker 4: there and they knew that Loomerhead drone shot and there
- 21:11Speaker 4: is nothing dude, it would take that guy ten seconds
- 21:13Speaker 4: to fall to his death. So at like a one
- 21:15Speaker 4: hundred and eighty miles an hour or whatever it is.
- 21:17Speaker 9: So in the documentary, we know he made it to
- 21:20Speaker 9: the end of the documentary, so you're not really thinking
- 21:22Speaker 9: he's going to fall. I think that was more of
- 21:25Speaker 9: an issue when he was climbing the skyscraper, Yeah, where
- 21:29Speaker 9: you didn't.
- 21:29Speaker 4: Know, although you know, but I mean the sky scraper
- 21:33Speaker 4: really provided him with so many grips and grabs. I
- 21:36Speaker 4: never thought his life was ever even a little bit
- 21:38Speaker 4: of danger there. It's just when he climbs those you know.
- 21:41Speaker 4: El Capitan is the one that you know, it's that
- 21:43Speaker 4: gigantic rock that juts out of the earth that's like
- 21:46Speaker 4: almost like unclimbable. As a matter of fact, I think
- 21:48Speaker 4: he was the first guy to climbate free solo, as
- 21:50Speaker 4: he was, and that's the documentary. Yeah, yeah, him tackling that.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Apparently if you go up there, even as a relatively
- 21:58Speaker 4: good climber, and you look at it, it's so intimidating
- 22:02Speaker 4: you don't even want to give it a shot. Like
- 22:03Speaker 4: it is now a number of people have climbed it
- 22:05Speaker 4: since him, But apparently that was like it was just nope,
- 22:09Speaker 4: might stand at the base and pit on my pants,
- 22:11Speaker 4: right just nobody thought it was possible, you know, because
- 22:13Speaker 4: nobody would have the balls to even try it.
- 22:15Speaker 9: At one point they list all the people, all the
- 22:17Speaker 9: free climbers who have just dyed free climbers.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, it's no mistakes. You have to be perfect.
- 22:25Speaker 4: There's this one guy, and I don't know if they
- 22:27Speaker 4: covered him. He was kind of a maniac. He had
- 22:29Speaker 4: longer hair, he kind of looked crazy, and his thing
- 22:31Speaker 4: was climbing very fast. He was a fast free climber.
- 22:35Speaker 4: But he died actually doing this weird thing where they
- 22:38Speaker 4: connect ropes to different areas, like in a forest, right,
- 22:42Speaker 4: and they create this sling. And the whole idea is
- 22:46Speaker 4: is when you jump the rope, like transfers the pivot
- 22:50Speaker 4: point somehow, and apparently it is like the rush that
- 22:53Speaker 4: just slings you all over this forest and stuff, and
- 22:56Speaker 4: it's supposed to be like crazy as hell. And they
- 22:58Speaker 4: were filming when the rope broke on that dude and
- 23:01Speaker 4: it literally slung him five six hundred feet into this
- 23:06Speaker 4: crevass and uh, yeah, not good. Yeah, I can't watch it, Jack,
- 23:11Speaker 4: I won't. Thank you. That was great, Thank you man,
- 23:14Speaker 4: I appreciate that. So this is the story I pulled,
- 23:16Speaker 4: uh balls of steel bradshaw aout.
- 23:19Speaker 9: Yeah yeah, sitting on my couch watching someone else climb
- 23:23Speaker 9: a rock.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Yeah, but these two, these two whips over here, can't
- 23:26Speaker 4: even do that. Oh yeah, I'll take credit for sitting
- 23:30Speaker 4: on the couch. Yeah. And uh, you know when he
- 23:34Speaker 4: climbed the tower, he was listening to tools and may
- 23:36Speaker 4: just remind me of that. Oh yeah, yeah, totally so cool.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Now I watched that live as well. Yeah, oh yeah,
- 23:41Speaker 4: did you I only watch a little bit of it.
- 23:43Speaker 4: I tuned in just to see how he was gonna
- 23:45Speaker 4: do it. Once I saw, I was like, oh, this
- 23:46Speaker 4: guy's had grabs everywhere.
- 23:48Speaker 9: Well, there were some points where it like I'm like,
- 23:52Speaker 9: it's like he made it harder on purpose. Well, they're
- 23:55Speaker 9: like there was an easier way to go, and he's
- 23:57Speaker 9: climbing over the ornamental parts and it out wasn't.
- 24:00Speaker 4: There a guy called the Fly back in the day
- 24:03Speaker 4: that they busted, he would he climbed I don't know
- 24:05Speaker 4: if it was the World Trade Center, but he climbed
- 24:07Speaker 4: a couple of buildings throughout the US, really big buildings,
- 24:10Speaker 4: and he dressed like a superhero man. He dressed like
- 24:12Speaker 4: a superhero like in yellow and blue. And he would
- 24:15Speaker 4: scale these these these towers as a as a you know,
- 24:18Speaker 4: as a stunt. And I think he got arrested at
- 24:20Speaker 4: the top of one of the towers once. Can't remember
- 24:24Speaker 4: his name. So how where do I get this story?
- 24:28Speaker 4: All right? Moved on? Uh, there's a story about uh
- 24:31Speaker 4: an Orlando. Uh, the police department is using drones. Now
- 24:36Speaker 4: have you seen the story at all about this? Is
- 24:38Speaker 4: this at the OPD test?
- 24:39Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 24:40Speaker 4: Yeah, the Bungalore story I pulled. Uh, I'm serious. It's
- 24:43Speaker 4: like a week and a half ago, and the Bungalore
- 24:45Speaker 4: learned that Orlando Police Department ran a seven week trial
- 24:49Speaker 4: as drones as first responders, and they liked what it saw.
- 24:52Speaker 4: A single drone docked at the headquarters responded to one
- 24:56Speaker 4: hundred and eighty five calls for service. How quickly did
- 24:59Speaker 4: it arrive before the cops? How what percentage did it
- 25:02Speaker 4: derive faster than the cops? Sixty percent? I thought it
- 25:08Speaker 4: was something like eleven minutes faster. Yeah, and then thirty
- 25:10Speaker 4: three percent of the thirty three percent faster, and it
- 25:14Speaker 4: provided useful information on ninety seven percent of the calls.
- 25:17Speaker 4: And of course, now the department's getting eleven of them.
- 25:19Speaker 4: How much do you think eleven of these are going
- 25:21Speaker 4: to cost annually to operate in the US or in Orlando?
- 25:25Speaker 4: And I have to tell you, I don't care, it
- 25:26Speaker 4: doesn't matter.
- 25:27Speaker 6: Oh no, this makes total sense.
- 25:28Speaker 4: And I be honest with you. If you look at
- 25:30Speaker 4: I don't know what they pay cops. Now, what's the
- 25:32Speaker 4: starting salary for a cop right now? It depends an
- 25:36Speaker 4: Orlando police department, Because do sheriffs make more? I mean,
- 25:38Speaker 4: do do county cops make more than city cops?
- 25:41Speaker 8: No?
- 25:41Speaker 4: City?
- 25:42Speaker 7: Orlando City is always known for having a very generous
- 25:45Speaker 7: pay pass. Do they really that Orange County Shriff's deputies
- 25:47Speaker 7: would love to have?
- 25:48Speaker 4: Really did not know that that was, at least how
- 25:50Speaker 4: it was in the past. I would always think that
- 25:52Speaker 4: that county cops would make more than city cops. And
- 25:54Speaker 4: I don't know why. I mean I just always thought
- 25:56Speaker 4: that generally not yeah, but the Orlando Police depart whatever
- 26:00Speaker 4: they're paying cops there, I would say, what sixty five
- 26:02Speaker 4: to seventy grand a year or something like that. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:05Speaker 4: that's what I would guess. So they have eleven of
- 26:08Speaker 4: these drones and it's going to cost almost this.
- 26:10Speaker 7: What starting base salary of approximately seventy one thousand and
- 26:14Speaker 7: six ninety one for certified officers with two plus years
- 26:17Speaker 7: of experience, while new recruits started roughly fifty five thousand dollars.
- 26:21Speaker 4: It's still respectable. Yeah, and I don't know what you
- 26:23Speaker 4: top out at is the ceiling there is a cop
- 26:25Speaker 4: pretty high or low. I think what the max with
- 26:29Speaker 4: twenty years probably what ninety five one hundred gand something
- 26:31Speaker 4: like that.
- 26:31Speaker 6: Then how good your union is?
- 26:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess you're right. How much do you think
- 26:34Speaker 4: it's going to cost a run eleven of these Skydio drones?
- 26:38Speaker 9: So I didn't know if this was the annual fee.
- 26:40Speaker 9: I know what I heard was that we're going to
- 26:42Speaker 9: spend seven million dollars on it.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Yeah, six point eight million is the total contract cost.
- 26:47Speaker 4: So it's seven hundred and fifty nine thousand dollars a
- 26:50Speaker 4: year to operate eleven of these drones. I think the
- 26:53Speaker 4: company is called Axon or something like that.
- 26:55Speaker 9: Axon They said it's like they're FAA pilots like real
- 27:00Speaker 9: as I'm just people who are drones certified, is what
- 27:04Speaker 9: I saw in the news story. But what's really cool
- 27:07Speaker 9: is if they have eleven at their station kind of
- 27:10Speaker 9: like it's it could be a box on top of
- 27:14Speaker 9: a building and when they go to operate it, it
- 27:16Speaker 9: just flips open and then they it takes off like
- 27:19Speaker 9: there's someone It's not like someone going out with the
- 27:22Speaker 9: drone and doing it. They're at a central control place
- 27:26Speaker 9: and these boxes are put throughout the city.
- 27:29Speaker 4: So which is the closest one son one and one
- 27:31Speaker 4: out there by drive one up, no veto or whatever.
- 27:34Speaker 4: They can just can get that fast and charging box
- 27:36Speaker 4: flips open and it just takes right out of that.
- 27:39Speaker 7: And you'll know Axon kids, they're the makers of the
- 27:41Speaker 7: body worn cameras that deputies use. It's also the Axon
- 27:45Speaker 7: is behind the AI program that the Hillsboro County Sheriff's
- 27:48Speaker 7: Office is going to use to write reports. And now
- 27:51Speaker 7: they're behind these drones as well.
- 27:53Speaker 4: Yeah, man, it looks like a really cool project. So
- 27:55Speaker 4: we'll see how that goes. For sure. That's happening now.
- 27:57Speaker 4: And uh, I guess they have a bunch of other
- 27:59Speaker 4: stuff acts on us that they provide to officers to
- 28:02Speaker 4: make the you know, make that job a lot easier
- 28:03Speaker 4: and safer, you know, all right? Four seven nine one
- 28:05Speaker 4: six one text us seven seven zero three one. Come
- 28:08Speaker 4: back in a second.
- 28:09Speaker 11: Do what you do?
- 28:09Speaker 4: That's new. Sh What a new colored cud there is?
- 28:20Speaker 4: You know him? Your favorite bag Ulos of the hall.
- 28:25Speaker 16: No interesting holidays other than Irish Whiskey Day. But did
- 28:28Speaker 16: you know here lobes have no biological purpose. This is
- 28:32Speaker 16: why I'm engaging mining out to about the size of
- 28:35Speaker 16: his CDs so I can carry around Yoanny CDs in
- 28:38Speaker 16: them and just watch people sk their pants going why.
- 28:42Speaker 4: I don't know either. Have a good one, Hey you buddy?
- 28:46Speaker 4: All right, welcome back to the Jim Gilbert Show, Real
- 28:48Speaker 4: Radio one oh four point one. I'm Jimmler's deb Hello,

- 28:54Speaker 4: That's new.

- 29:11Speaker 4: L A U S M A N law dot com.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Office is right there in winter Park four oh seven
- 29:15Speaker 4: nine one seven seventeen eighteen car crash called Klausman. We'll
- 29:18Speaker 4: talk to Glenn on Thursday for Colberg Court. Every single
- 29:21Speaker 4: Tuesday at four o'clock since the show began. Uh, we
- 29:24Speaker 4: do what you do?
- 29:25Speaker 8: It's new.
- 29:25Speaker 4: One member of the show will choose something for the
- 29:27Speaker 4: others to watch, read, or listen to. We will do that,
- 29:29Speaker 4: reconvene on that following Tuesday, discuss it, and then move
- 29:33Speaker 4: on to the next member. This is Deb's choice today,
- 29:35Speaker 4: and we'll find out what Jack has to offer in
- 29:37Speaker 4: a little bit, Deborah.
- 29:38Speaker 7: I chose the TMZ special Presents Michael Jackson thirty Fatal Seconds.
- 29:44Speaker 7: You can see it on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus.
- 29:47Speaker 7: And I chose it because, well, part of the reason, Keith,
- 29:51Speaker 7: if you thought I didn't have Hulu, No, Actually, I
- 29:54Speaker 7: felt really really bad after that.
- 29:55Speaker 6: I was I kept trying to figure out, like I
- 29:57Speaker 6: went and researched it.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Is it on To be very very sweet of you,
- 30:00Speaker 4: I was just so dumb I forgot I had.
- 30:04Speaker 7: But it was because it featured never before seen footage
- 30:08Speaker 7: of the Pepsi commercial that Michael Jackson shot back in
- 30:12Speaker 7: nineteen eighty four. And we remember that commercial, right, Yes,
- 30:16Speaker 7: I had no idea the level of damage that it
- 30:20Speaker 7: had done. I always thought Michael Jackson was an insomniac.
- 30:24Speaker 7: Because of Michael Jackson, Sure, I just a weirdo. Well,
- 30:27Speaker 7: he's a world class entertainer. He became a weirdo after
- 30:31Speaker 7: this incident, and it was interesting to go back for
- 30:33Speaker 7: me and connect the dots and realize, unlike twenty twenty six,
- 30:37Speaker 7: when celebrities are a little bit more forthright about what
- 30:40Speaker 7: they're dealing with, they of you know, Michael J.
- 30:43Speaker 6: Fox and his Parkinson.
- 30:46Speaker 7: Exactly, that's back in nineteen eighty four, he got burned.
- 30:50Speaker 7: It's okay, we're moving on right, exactly, and it changed
- 30:53Speaker 7: the trajectory of his life and how fans felt about him.
- 30:55Speaker 7: And yet we were never told how Baddy was suffering.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what the funny thing is is as
- 30:59Speaker 4: you want, I mean, I got a lot to say
- 31:01Speaker 4: about the documentary. When you watch the documentary, they only
- 31:03Speaker 4: show the actual injury of I remember they show it
- 31:05Speaker 4: like once where he's walking off stage front and you
- 31:08Speaker 4: can see the big burn spot that looks like if
- 31:10Speaker 4: he was wearing a yamulka. Yeah, that's kind of what
- 31:12Speaker 4: it looks like. But that's a third degree burn. And apparently,
- 31:15Speaker 4: like the one thing that I that kind of woke
- 31:17Speaker 4: me up a little bit about this is this is
- 31:20Speaker 4: the first time I've seen the video of how long
- 31:22Speaker 4: dude was on fire. Dude, he was on fire from
- 31:26Speaker 4: I'm not going to say a minute, and like I'm
- 31:27Speaker 4: being facetious, but I mean it was a good ten
- 31:30Speaker 4: to fifteen seconds that it was on fire. I would
- 31:32Speaker 4: go with thirty seconds. It's in the title of the special.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Yeah I know, but I'm saying when you look at
- 31:37Speaker 4: the video, it doesn't look like it's that long. But
- 31:39Speaker 4: the thing is is you don't see the flames coming out.
- 31:42Speaker 4: And after he starts coming down those stairs, so he's
- 31:45Speaker 4: turned around. I think they even mentioned that you can
- 31:47Speaker 4: see smoke with no flames, but dude, he's burn turned around.
- 31:49Speaker 4: It looks like a movie prop. It does.
- 31:51Speaker 9: And because you are seeing from behind him that camera
- 31:55Speaker 9: footage that was supposed to be sealed, right, that was
- 31:58Speaker 9: part of the agreement that no one would see it
- 32:00Speaker 9: and guess what, we're watching it. Yeah, but they showed
- 32:04Speaker 9: how many times you I didn't count it, but how
- 32:06Speaker 9: many times do you think they showed that?
- 32:08Speaker 4: It was a bunch that. I mean, that's what made
- 32:09Speaker 4: it made it very TMZ. I'm watching this show is
- 32:14Speaker 4: so TMZ. It was definitely so tm because they played
- 32:18Speaker 4: it over and oh, better of fact, I was like,
- 32:20Speaker 4: oh they gonna do anything else, there's just gonna be
- 32:22Speaker 4: like forty minutes of them playing this thing it's about
- 32:24Speaker 4: fifteen times, and then saying he played it over and
- 32:26Speaker 4: over again. Still very interesting. And I'll tell you this
- 32:28Speaker 4: also posed another question. Can't figure it out, can't figure
- 32:31Speaker 4: out if I actually like Harry Levan or not. I
- 32:34Speaker 4: want to like him because well, you know, he he
- 32:37Speaker 4: If you look at what they've broken over the years like.
- 32:39Speaker 6: This, yeah, that doesn't give me a reason to like
- 32:41Speaker 6: him though, But I mean, it's.
- 32:43Speaker 4: It is gonna wild. He's a very kind of polarizing character.
- 32:46Speaker 4: I don't dislike him.
- 32:47Speaker 9: And I'll watch tim I'll throw TMZ on usually I
- 32:50Speaker 9: catched like the last five minutes before. Yeah, you know,
- 32:52Speaker 9: because I'm of something I'm going to watch at eight.
- 32:55Speaker 9: But uh yeah, it's I I've grown to appreciate it.
- 32:59Speaker 4: And the other thing.
- 33:00Speaker 7: There are a couple of things as well that stuck
- 33:01Speaker 7: out to me. Tissue expanders. Oh, that had no idea
- 33:06Speaker 7: that that was even necessary for I just thought they
- 33:09Speaker 7: would have, you know, maybe skin grafted the top of
- 33:12Speaker 7: his head, But I never the whole skin or tissue
- 33:16Speaker 7: expanders thing.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Where they put like failing in it once a week,
- 33:20Speaker 4: like an.
- 33:20Speaker 7: Empty sack, underneath your scalp and then they slowly fill
- 33:23Speaker 7: it with saline so that your scalp grows enough that I.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Said, it was really painful, and that's one of the
- 33:28Speaker 4: reasons he began. He became addicted. And I guess he
- 33:30Speaker 4: was going to this one doctor's office every day to
- 33:33Speaker 4: get a dimmerroll shot. And people said they would see
- 33:36Speaker 4: him going in and he would be one way and
- 33:38Speaker 4: then he was coming out and he was complete zombie
- 33:40Speaker 4: after he would come back out.
- 33:41Speaker 7: Do you remember how many aliases they found on the
- 33:43Speaker 7: pill bottles and the And it dawned on me that
- 33:48Speaker 7: if you're famous and you have an addiction, you'r sicophant.
- 33:51Speaker 7: Doctor is your death sentence. They were from Matthew Perry
- 33:54Speaker 7: to Michael Jackson. They've literally to Elvis Presley.
- 33:57Speaker 4: He had three of them, did he not?
- 33:59Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 33:59Speaker 7: He did, include including the doctor right forgotten was the
- 34:01Speaker 7: one who administered the fatal dose of propofol.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Which is the yeah Murray, Yeah exactly.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:08Speaker 7: So I just thought, you know, and I felt bad
- 34:10Speaker 7: because for all the years he was called a freak
- 34:12Speaker 7: and a weirdo. How about the other thing too, that
- 34:14Speaker 7: the obsession was with plastic surgery really had to do
- 34:18Speaker 7: with his access to even more drugs, more propofol.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Well, that was a theory. That was a theory. It
- 34:24Speaker 4: was never proven, a theory.
- 34:25Speaker 9: By the plastic surgeon saying it might be possible, right,
- 34:29Speaker 9: the effects of plastic surgery leaving getting all that pain medication, Yeah,
- 34:33Speaker 9: might have been the reason he was going for plastic surgery.
- 34:36Speaker 4: And I've heard that actually back in the day, I
- 34:38Speaker 4: knew a human being that would that would get injured
- 34:41Speaker 4: oddly a lot. They would oddly be in the hospital
- 34:45Speaker 4: a lot, and and knew from the background that person
- 34:49Speaker 4: had a pill problem. And every time we would go
- 34:52Speaker 4: on social media, we would see this person, you know,
- 34:54Speaker 4: in a hospital. Again We're like, oh God, back at it. Yeah,
- 34:57Speaker 4: you know.
- 34:58Speaker 6: Yeah, so that again, that was one of the things
- 35:00Speaker 6: that was floated around.
- 35:01Speaker 7: But you know, he had to go undergo so many
- 35:04Speaker 7: surgeries just to repair the damage from the third degree burning.
- 35:07Speaker 7: I've always heard it be said that a burn unit
- 35:09Speaker 7: in any hospital is the worst place.
- 35:11Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it's the worst. Saint Jude specializes in that,
- 35:15Speaker 4: is it Memphis? I think up there? And yeah, yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 4: because I just saw It's funny enough, I just saw
- 35:19Speaker 4: the best hospitals in the world a list of Newsweek,
- 35:21Speaker 4: and we have four of the top seven hospitals on
- 35:24Speaker 4: planet Earth here in the US, and I think that's
- 35:26Speaker 4: one of them as well. The one thing I also
- 35:28Speaker 4: I found weird is this. I think Thriller must be
- 35:32Speaker 4: the most deceiving album cover of all time. I came
- 35:36Speaker 4: to that conclusion as well. It's him kind of laying
- 35:39Speaker 4: down in the touch and a Touch or whatever. But
- 35:41Speaker 4: think about the tone of that that's of that album,
- 35:44Speaker 4: beat It, Thriller, the song Thriller, It's kind of an
- 35:48Speaker 4: ominous record, and he's laying there. It doesn't it didn't
- 35:51Speaker 4: seem to nudge to me, I know, But beat It
- 35:55Speaker 4: and the two of the biggest songs on there are
- 35:57Speaker 4: a little edgy. Man. Did you recognize I?
- 36:00Speaker 15: They?
- 36:00Speaker 4: I did? I did him in this video. But Mark Goodman, yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 4: oh my god, the original the best looking of all
- 36:07Speaker 4: of them, by the way, right now, the guy who
- 36:08Speaker 4: aged the best, he did age, but back then he
- 36:11Speaker 4: had long curly Yeah. And did you see his doctor
- 36:15Speaker 4: that came out. Michael Jackson's doctor came out and made
- 36:17Speaker 4: a statement, I'm like, he's not the same hair. And
- 36:19Speaker 4: Dud had a Jerry Curl with a like a horn
- 36:22Speaker 4: glasses horn room glasses? What was the other thing I saw?
- 36:26Speaker 4: I made some notes on this thing. Do you think
- 36:29Speaker 4: Michael Jackson after that because he continued to perform? Actually,
- 36:33Speaker 4: the crazy thing about it was he didn't he do
- 36:35Speaker 4: like a performance or an appearance just a couple of
- 36:38Speaker 4: days after that. Now months was it month? I think
- 36:41Speaker 4: it was at least a month after. But what I'm
- 36:43Speaker 4: saying is, you know, considering how they're saying how dire
- 36:46Speaker 4: the injuries were, dude was back out there doing it
- 36:49Speaker 4: not that long after. I think it's actually shorter than
- 36:51Speaker 4: a month. I guess it could be. But one of
- 36:53Speaker 4: the things I thought it was like, do you think
- 36:55Speaker 4: he had a different relationship with Billy Jean after that,
- 36:58Speaker 4: after the after the injury. Do you think when he
- 37:00Speaker 4: heard the song that he had flashbacks? Or do you
- 37:02Speaker 4: think as a professional he doesn't even really matter.
- 37:05Speaker 7: I just remember that when they were on the set
- 37:08Speaker 7: of another music video where they were going to be
- 37:10Speaker 7: using fireworks, hearing Michael Jackson say keep me away from
- 37:13Speaker 7: that stuff. That stuff set me on fire. The last
- 37:15Speaker 7: time I was around it, I.
- 37:16Speaker 9: Thought one of the most fact fascinating things was something
- 37:19Speaker 9: Mark Goodman revealed and then I double checked it to
- 37:21Speaker 9: verify and it was like, I think it's off by
- 37:23Speaker 9: a day. The day of the Pepsi commercial was January
- 37:27Speaker 9: twenty seventh, nineteen eighty four.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that was exactly the midpoint of his life. Yes, exactly.
- 37:35Speaker 9: He talked about, you know, everything was he was at
- 37:38Speaker 9: the pinnacle of his success at that point, and after
- 37:41Speaker 9: that it was a straight downward trajectory, right, Yeah. Yeah,
- 37:45Speaker 9: it was sad and that day and I looked up
- 37:48Speaker 9: when I did the same thing and it actually came
- 37:51Speaker 9: to I, well, Alexa told me it was actually January
- 37:54Speaker 9: twenty sixth, But I mean that commercial was done exactly
- 37:57Speaker 9: in the middle of his life.
- 38:00Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, and it was amazing to see something that.
- 38:03Speaker 7: Again, back in the eighties, the limited amount of information
- 38:06Speaker 7: that came out about celebrities where it detracted from their
- 38:09Speaker 7: image or whatever, is such a vast difference from what
- 38:12Speaker 7: we get today. I wonder what the fan reaction would
- 38:15Speaker 7: have been if we'd let in a little bit more
- 38:17Speaker 7: to the tissue expanders and the third degree burn treatment,
- 38:22Speaker 7: maybe there would have been a little bit more grace
- 38:24Speaker 7: given to Michael Jackson, if if we'd understood just how
- 38:27Speaker 7: horribly injured he really was.
- 38:29Speaker 4: But the problem is, and I think the only person
- 38:32Speaker 4: you can parallel his life with is Elvis. And I think,
- 38:34Speaker 4: you know, much like with that, once you get that,
- 38:37Speaker 4: once you get that bubble of sycophants who are there
- 38:40Speaker 4: to protect you because you mean, they're you know, their
- 38:43Speaker 4: gravy train there. Yeah, you are the gravy train. Yeah.
- 38:46Speaker 4: I don't think you're going to get much information out
- 38:48Speaker 4: of that that they don't vet. I don't think that.
- 38:50Speaker 4: I think they feed people like that information to keep
- 38:53Speaker 4: them secluded, as to keep them from either truths that
- 38:56Speaker 4: they don't want them to hear or something like that,
- 38:58Speaker 4: because I don't believe he was communicating a whole bunch
- 39:00Speaker 4: because he was getting I mean, remember it was it
- 39:02Speaker 4: the Oprah interview or something he just got absolutely wasted
- 39:05Speaker 4: for or something. Wasn't there an interview that he did
- 39:07Speaker 4: and he just it really went poorly. I know he
- 39:09Speaker 4: did a TV commercial trying to explain, you know, what
- 39:12Speaker 4: happened in the severity of it all, But.
- 39:14Speaker 9: No, I think that was a deposition as a deposition.
- 39:16Speaker 4: But I do also remember him him saying that or
- 39:19Speaker 4: doing an interview that went really poorly, and it also
- 39:22Speaker 4: changed how people looked at him. It might have been
- 39:24Speaker 4: over the child thing more than this.
- 39:25Speaker 7: And what's interesting that you just say that, Jimmy, because
- 39:28Speaker 7: just today news broke that four siblings are suing the
- 39:30Speaker 7: Jackson estate saying that they were human trafficked. Y. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:34Speaker 7: so that's that story continues to have legs.
- 39:37Speaker 4: But man, I gotta tell you, I just never bought
- 39:39Speaker 4: that with Michael Jackson, and I still don't. I don't
- 39:41Speaker 4: buy the I don't buy the fact that he abused
- 39:43Speaker 4: those kids. I don't buy it. And I don't know why.
- 39:46Speaker 4: It just doesn't feel. I don't feel it in my
- 39:48Speaker 4: gut that he's guilty of it. You said the same
- 39:50Speaker 4: thing about Jeffrey Epstein. God, I never did that, but
- 39:55Speaker 4: that was such a good joke, jack I appreciate it.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Speaking of that, what do you have for us next week?
- 39:59Speaker 4: Please tell me it's something with Jeffrey Epstein because I
- 40:01Speaker 4: love reading about him.
- 40:02Speaker 7: Oh, No, it's gonna be a treat for you. I
- 40:03Speaker 7: have a feeling it's going to be Bruce Springsteen.
- 40:06Speaker 4: It's neither Bruce Epstein.
- 40:07Speaker 9: Oh, it's actually a video It's twenty four minutes and
- 40:15Speaker 9: fifty three seconds long on YouTube, and it was something
- 40:20Speaker 9: that was suggested by a listener a couple of weeks ago,
- 40:25Speaker 9: and I was intrigued by it.
- 40:26Speaker 4: So here we go. How submarine sailors eat, sleep and
- 40:30Speaker 4: survive for three months underwater?
- 40:32Speaker 7: It?
- 40:32Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that would be cool. Yeah, oh yeah, nothing
- 40:34Speaker 4: like sharing a bunk with a grown ass man for
- 40:37Speaker 4: three months. Yeah, for three months seeing the sun. What's
- 40:40Speaker 4: that smell?
- 40:41Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 40:41Speaker 4: Oh you're a furter. It's sweet? How sweet you turned
- 40:45Speaker 4: the Russell sprouts? I hear they're wonderful four seven nine
- 40:49Speaker 4: four one text us at seven seven zero three one,
- 40:53Speaker 4: my eyebrows. That's secon with more of the jim Colbert
- 40:57Speaker 4: shoe gonna.
- 40:57Speaker 6: Say High Classes.
- 41:07Speaker 8: Proudly sponsored since day one by Glenn Klausman Closmanlaw dot Com.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Hi, good after morning, Colberg cobru Man.
- 41:24Speaker 17: I knew it.
- 41:25Speaker 2: I predicted years ago with a talkback. You were getting
- 41:27Speaker 2: a cat, Jimmy, and here we are.
- 41:29Speaker 5: You were a cat's destroying your house.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Enjoy my man.
- 41:34Speaker 17: Speaking of cats, did you know that the urge to
- 41:38Speaker 17: sing the lion sleeps tonight is just a whim away
- 41:42Speaker 17: o way, open way, open open way, big deal.
- 41:48Speaker 4: All right, I like this new past. Welcome back. They
- 41:53Speaker 4: are saying whim away in the song whim way Way,
- 41:57Speaker 4: welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. Real right, A
- 42:00Speaker 4: one o four point one. Let me apologize to everybody.
- 42:02Speaker 4: I'm Jim. There's death Jack's earline. I'm enjoying big teath outlet. Yeah, yeah,
- 42:07Speaker 4: I like you too. Actually, I came to a conclusion yesterday.
- 42:11Speaker 4: We don't have to talk about this for a whole bunch,
- 42:12Speaker 4: But I'm because I have some other stuff, and I
- 42:14Speaker 4: came to a conclusion reversed. No, let me tell you something.
- 42:19Speaker 4: You saw a baby, and you're like, we need another one, Tori,
- 42:22Speaker 4: don't even whisper that around around my wife. She already
- 42:26Speaker 4: asked a baby. Well, she can't have any more children because,
- 42:30Speaker 4: I mean, after her second baby, she had to have
- 42:32Speaker 4: some stuff done because of some complications, so she's incapable
- 42:35Speaker 4: of doing it. But let me tell you straight up,
- 42:37Speaker 4: she told me years ago, if that wasn't the case,
- 42:40Speaker 4: you would be doing that, we would be having a kid.
- 42:43Speaker 4: She she would have wanted a baby, for sure, she
- 42:45Speaker 4: would I mean, she wanted to steal this one. I mean, seriously, man,
- 42:51Speaker 4: I do They were patting her down when she was
- 42:53Speaker 4: leaving the hospital, checking her bags and stuff. I mean,
- 42:56Speaker 4: she wants one so bad it's scary. You should see her,
- 42:58Speaker 4: how how she lights up around him. Minute Nuts, Now
- 43:00Speaker 4: you're lolly and pop. Yeah, lolly and pop.
- 43:03Speaker 6: So you know that was the theme in the second
- 43:05Speaker 6: Father of the Bride movie, was it really know?
- 43:07Speaker 7: Where the newlyweds become pregnant and then the parents of
- 43:10Speaker 7: the Bride end up having their third child.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Oh yeah, all kinds of science says that ain't happening.
- 43:16Speaker 4: I mean, we could adopt, I guess, but that ain't
- 43:18Speaker 4: never happening. No, no, no, no, not me, no what.
- 43:22Speaker 8: No?
- 43:23Speaker 6: Imagine that diaper changed?
- 43:24Speaker 4: Oh god, mind, he'd love every one of them. My god,
- 43:27Speaker 4: he would force himself to do it to get changed. Weird,
- 43:30Speaker 4: you can feel the weird. I don't want formula. That
- 43:41Speaker 4: one's a thinker, not really. I think he killed the
- 43:47Speaker 4: host though, I don't know where to go with that.
- 43:52Speaker 4: The inference there is like should we be fighting or something?
- 43:55Speaker 4: Minute Jack just said he wanted to latch on the
- 43:59Speaker 4: one my own yey. Yeah.
- 44:02Speaker 6: Not a thinker, like I said, I don't have to think.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Uh what was I talking about?
- 44:10Speaker 8: So?
- 44:10Speaker 4: Uh I have I have come to a conclusion and
- 44:13Speaker 4: this is gonna seem stupid after saying hearing that, it
- 44:21Speaker 4: feels dumb. Now you're gonna get a twel game. Oh
- 44:25Speaker 4: it's dumbering nut. Oh so I'm having lunch and uh,
- 44:28Speaker 4: I'm a pub sub kind of guy. I don't about
- 44:30Speaker 4: you guys, And now like I didn't before, you know,
- 44:33Speaker 4: who does this for us? Is like we'll get texters
- 44:35Speaker 4: and we're like, ohy man, pubs, this this sub is
- 44:38Speaker 4: on sale, right, So I never even can I never
- 44:40Speaker 4: even knew they did that. I never knew publics like
- 44:42Speaker 4: put stuff on sale because I don't really I just
- 44:45Speaker 4: look for bogos and that's it. They don't do bogo
- 44:46Speaker 4: subs at publics. But they did have a sub sale.
- 44:50Speaker 4: So last night did not feel like cooking. On the
- 44:51Speaker 4: way home, stop by, I got a sandwich and it
- 44:54Speaker 4: was the it was the boars had Italian uh huh,
- 44:58Speaker 4: and it was like nine dollars get fine sandwich.
- 45:01Speaker 9: By the way, I'm curious when you so you're coming home,
- 45:04Speaker 9: you know I need to make something for dinner. It's
- 45:06Speaker 9: just yeah, you were solo, So you went into publics.
- 45:10Speaker 9: Did you think you're I'm getting a pub stub or
- 45:13Speaker 9: did you go in thinking I'm going to get something
- 45:15Speaker 9: to eat at public No?
- 45:16Speaker 4: No, I go in to get a sub, dude. I
- 45:17Speaker 4: mean I try to get a matter of fact, I
- 45:18Speaker 4: call my wife because again with the baby and our
- 45:20Speaker 4: schedules and stuff, we have Hello fresh, but to come
- 45:22Speaker 4: home and cook and everything, it's a little bit of
- 45:24Speaker 4: a pain in the ass because we like to clean
- 45:25Speaker 4: the kitchen afterwards, so that makes our I get home
- 45:28Speaker 4: at seven thirty night turn into you know, we're not
- 45:30Speaker 4: done eating until nine o'clock at night and everything. So
- 45:33Speaker 4: it gets to be a pain in the ass sometimes.
- 45:34Speaker 4: So we should end this show a lot earlier. We'll
- 45:37Speaker 4: just elect to get something else. So I asked her
- 45:39Speaker 4: she wanted to up. She said no. I popped in
- 45:41Speaker 4: a sub, picked up a couple other things, and got
- 45:43Speaker 4: home and started eating. And it was it was the
- 45:48Speaker 4: chips I got right. So I got some potato chips
- 45:51Speaker 4: and as I go over to I always look for
- 45:53Speaker 4: bogos and I've been eating the same potato chip for
- 45:55Speaker 4: a while, which is a fine potato chip. I mean
- 45:57Speaker 4: it's your your Lazy's sour cream and onion. So side,
- 46:00Speaker 4: I'll switch it up a little bit, right, So I
- 46:02Speaker 4: go on the other side, and uh and cape Cod chips,
- 46:05Speaker 4: which are the kettle chips. They're on sale bogo right,
- 46:08Speaker 4: I'm like, all right, I'll get them on Look there, Halipino, right,
- 46:12Speaker 4: cape Cod chips. And I picked up the salt and
- 46:14Speaker 4: pepper cape Cod chips right, and I can tend right now.
- 46:18Speaker 4: And I have no problem saying this. The cape Cod
- 46:20Speaker 4: Halipino potato chip is the best potato chip on the
- 46:23Speaker 4: market right now. Well, and I'll tell you something else.
- 46:27Speaker 4: I don't think it's particularly close. I think it's I
- 46:31Speaker 4: think it's so much better than any other potato chip
- 46:34Speaker 4: out there for crunch, for flavor. The only thing is
- 46:37Speaker 4: is they're so g d expensive for what you get
- 46:40Speaker 4: in the bag, comparatively to like Lay's or other brands.
- 46:43Speaker 4: But I'm telling you straight up right now that cape
- 46:45Speaker 4: Cod Halipino.
- 46:46Speaker 6: I'm a Miss Vicky Kala potato chip.
- 46:48Speaker 4: And Miss Vicky is fine.
- 46:50Speaker 9: That is.
- 46:52Speaker 4: I'm just telling you that is. It is the closest
- 46:55Speaker 4: thing to this one. But I who asked you? I
- 46:58Speaker 4: find the flavor on the cape cod chips better and
- 47:01Speaker 4: more consistent and a little hotter. The Miss Vicky chip
- 47:04Speaker 4: isn't as hot as these. And I think it's the best.
- 47:07Speaker 4: I think it's the best. And I have all the zapps.
- 47:09Speaker 4: Don't get me with the zapps. People are gonna start
- 47:11Speaker 4: texting me with the zapps everything or the zapps this
- 47:14Speaker 4: and that, this, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:16Speaker 6: I didn't have you being a potato chip smell yea
- 47:18Speaker 6: on my Bengo card for today.
- 47:19Speaker 4: Here we are. I did not either, But I'm I'm
- 47:22Speaker 4: so I don't know how you eat your pup subs.
- 47:24Speaker 4: I get, I get a I get a football, and
- 47:27Speaker 4: I eat one half for dinner and then the other
- 47:29Speaker 4: half for lunch. Or today i had the other half
- 47:32Speaker 4: of my pub sub and the other half a bag
- 47:35Speaker 4: of these Jlipino chips, and I'm like, this is the
- 47:37Speaker 4: best chip in the world. They're crunchy, they're flavorful, they're delicious.
- 47:41Speaker 4: It's the best. It goes with a it goes with
- 47:43Speaker 4: that sandwich, It goes with any sandwich. Did you put
- 47:45Speaker 4: them on your sandwich? Now? I don't do that. I'm straight,
- 47:50Speaker 4: but or or over fourteen? Yeah right, no, but I'm
- 47:54Speaker 4: telling you man, I just say it's the crunch. They're
- 47:56Speaker 4: so good, dude, Right, what's your favorite when you like
- 48:00Speaker 4: plain chips?
- 48:00Speaker 6: Right?
- 48:01Speaker 4: Just playing Lays? No, Miss Vicky, I do.
- 48:04Speaker 6: Like Miss Vicki's Oh I love Miss Vicki's Hallowpaena chips.
- 48:06Speaker 4: And I've tried, like when when Lays came out and
- 48:09Speaker 4: they were doing like the the chicken and waffles chips.
- 48:11Speaker 4: I tried every iteration of those and they were novel
- 48:14Speaker 4: and fun, but I would never buy another bag of those.
- 48:18Speaker 7: Although the late the dorrito late night ones that are
- 48:21Speaker 7: supposed to taste like a taco good time.
- 48:23Speaker 4: Really, But I don't that a chip? Yeah, that's not
- 48:26Speaker 4: a chick. Is a chick tortilla chip not a potato chick? Yeah? No,
- 48:31Speaker 4: But I don't eat I don't eat tortillas or any
- 48:34Speaker 4: or tortilla chips with sandwiches. I don't think it's a
- 48:37Speaker 4: good pairing. I want a potato product with a sandwich.
- 48:40Speaker 4: You are really you eat you eat doritos with a sandwich?
- 48:46Speaker 4: How Since I was a kid, Dorito's were That's a
- 48:49Speaker 4: that's a thing on its own. You don't eat that
- 48:51Speaker 4: with anything. It doesn't really pair with anything. Hear what
- 48:53Speaker 4: you're saying. There's You're right, there's a little too much
- 48:57Speaker 4: happening with the chip pair.
- 49:00Speaker 9: It's it's kind of its own standalone meals.
- 49:03Speaker 4: Like the potato is like if you were getting a burger,
- 49:06Speaker 4: you'd get fries, you wouldn't get, like, you know, corn chips.
- 49:09Speaker 4: So that's what I'm When you get a sandwich, you
- 49:11Speaker 4: want like a potato product, and I think the corn
- 49:14Speaker 4: thing just kind of throws the whole thing off.
- 49:16Speaker 9: But if you want to get to top a potato
- 49:18Speaker 9: chip mountain, that's where you find that long can of Pringles,
- 49:22Speaker 9: sour cream and onion.
- 49:26Speaker 4: Potato heaven.
- 49:29Speaker 6: All that time you spend.
- 49:31Speaker 4: I know it's not a chip, and Jack knows it,
- 49:33Speaker 4: and I'm not looking at it. It's not a chip.
- 49:35Speaker 4: You're the smell. Yeah, I'm not. It's not a chip,
- 49:38Speaker 4: just one area. They melt in your mouth. They're not
- 49:45Speaker 4: supposed to even do that. They're like, they just disintegrate
- 49:47Speaker 4: in your mouth because it's potato. Its shaped. Mush is
- 49:51Speaker 4: what it is. It's shaped. What it is you're you're eating.
- 49:55Speaker 4: What you're doing is you're eating like hard mashed potatoes.
- 49:58Speaker 4: That's what it is.
- 49:58Speaker 7: Oh Man, that's what somebody just texted something, and that's
- 50:02Speaker 7: gonna frost both of your flakes. Jack especially, let's go
- 50:06Speaker 7: seven seven zero three one. Dorito's pair just fine with
- 50:10Speaker 7: a PB and J.
- 50:12Speaker 4: They get the what communist?
- 50:16Speaker 6: Someone else said, cool ranch doritos on a PB and J.
- 50:20Speaker 4: Cools in general or gross good? Oh, here we go.
- 50:26Speaker 9: Someone says, don't sleep on that Clancy's jalapen. You dip
- 50:29Speaker 9: from Aldie Aldy.
- 50:32Speaker 4: The thing is is like I think ruffles sour cream.
- 50:35Speaker 4: That's a good chip, right, But I'm telling you when
- 50:37Speaker 4: you have this kilipino chip, it's the texture, it's every
- 50:40Speaker 4: They're not too greasy. Some of those kettle chips get greasy.
- 50:43Speaker 4: These are not, and they put tons of flavor on it.
- 50:46Speaker 4: Ida is it good?
- 50:47Speaker 9: I cooked my own lunch today and I thought when
- 50:49Speaker 9: I was done, chips would have went.
- 50:51Speaker 4: Perfectly with it.
- 50:53Speaker 9: But you have it was all ingredients from Aldi shocker. Okay,
- 50:57Speaker 9: they're Italian bread, they're sliced the bread.
- 50:59Speaker 4: That's fine.
- 51:00Speaker 9: Art of toasting that, okay. The black forest hay in Nice.
- 51:03Speaker 9: That's the nicest turkey.
- 51:04Speaker 4: Yeah, sharp cheddar nice all for Maldy.
- 51:06Speaker 9: Yeah, through that, so toast it a little bit, take
- 51:09Speaker 9: it out, put it all on sandwich, toast it a
- 51:11Speaker 9: little more, take it out.
- 51:13Speaker 4: Little dupe's mao boom, cut it in half. Let's go.
- 51:15Speaker 4: No veggies, no ve no chips. Well I don't have chips.
- 51:20Speaker 4: I don't know chips. But veges on your sandwich? No,
- 51:23Speaker 4: who needs that?
- 51:24Speaker 6: Somebody just said, barbecue are the goat's throats.
- 51:28Speaker 4: But they're great alone, but throat. But none of those
- 51:31Speaker 4: corn products pair with anything, because well, the thing you're
- 51:34Speaker 4: not pairing with the Mexican food, it already.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Comes with that.
- 51:36Speaker 10: No.
- 51:36Speaker 4: Well, I disagree with that. I disagree completely. I think
- 51:39Speaker 4: Fredos work on a lot, and that is a corn
- 51:41Speaker 4: chip you're gonna get. You're gonna get a sandwich and
- 51:45Speaker 4: get a side of Freeto's. Dude, any day.
- 51:48Speaker 9: If Free Doo's is one of the bags at the
- 51:50Speaker 9: subject the chies.
- 51:51Speaker 4: When you get to pick a bag, if they have
- 51:52Speaker 4: free Doos there, I am totally I contend that is
- 51:57Speaker 4: it the twisty thing that they have? Oh they have
- 51:59Speaker 4: those too, that's the honey barbecue. Yeah, okay, let's go.
- 52:02Speaker 4: That's unfair. Let's go. That's unfair. They should that's look
- 52:06Speaker 4: that's a bag. Albums with curse words have warnings. Those
- 52:09Speaker 4: things should have a warning. I'll buy you fly, No
- 52:11Speaker 4: you fly, I boy, what I'm telling you, Look, I
- 52:14Speaker 4: am all about the spicy cheetah or freedo thing. There's
- 52:18Speaker 4: nothing wrong with that alone, like or maybe even with
- 52:22Speaker 4: a dip or something. When you eat alone, you can
- 52:25Speaker 4: have your free doos alone. Those do not go with sandwiches.
- 52:28Speaker 9: And someone else is putting free doos on a PB
- 52:31Speaker 9: and J. Listen, do you know my love for PB
- 52:33Speaker 9: and J? I had it for breakfast the past two mornings.
- 52:39Speaker 9: That is one true jack.
- 52:42Speaker 4: Did you hear us arguing nobody thought it was not true?
- 52:44Speaker 4: But I've never put chips on my PB. Well, somebody
- 52:48Speaker 4: said Frito's, but a pairalwell with Chili du Chili's on
- 52:51Speaker 4: a sandwich. Everybody understands that. Everybody gets that walking walking
- 52:55Speaker 4: taco in a free A wonderful product, A wonderful product.
- 52:59Speaker 4: Now a freak the mons potato chip with the sandwich.
- 53:01Speaker 4: I'm telling you, the best potata chip out there is
- 53:03Speaker 4: the Hali Pino cape cod I'll fly.
- 53:05Speaker 7: I freak out at that freak on the monsters this morning,
- 53:08Speaker 7: said blooney, a bit of mustard and peanut butter. No,
- 53:16Speaker 7: somebody else said sprouts beef tallow chips.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Oh yeah, but I'm telling you now, I think he's
- 53:22Speaker 4: better than the name implies. Yeah, okay, we have tallow
- 53:26Speaker 4: at the house that we use to cook steaks with
- 53:28Speaker 4: because you do get a really nice beefy flavored Also,
- 53:31Speaker 4: if you're gonna make a sauce afterwards for your steaks
- 53:34Speaker 4: or whatever, really really nice flavor. No question, it's wagoo.
- 53:38Speaker 4: It's expensive too, but that we use that at the
- 53:40Speaker 4: house for cooking. I'm sure Jack has a jar. Yeah no, no, no, no,
- 53:45Speaker 4: to cook your baby Jay's in Jack.
- 53:48Speaker 15: Yah.
- 53:49Speaker 4: Here's the thing I would eat, and I will tell
- 53:51Speaker 4: you and I hate these and I don't even know
- 53:53Speaker 4: what it is. I would eat a funion with a
- 53:55Speaker 4: sandwich before I would eat a dorito with a that's
- 53:59Speaker 4: a weird time. I would eat a funion eat way
- 54:02Speaker 4: before I would eat.
- 54:03Speaker 7: In with like a Oh you really want to mess
- 54:05Speaker 7: someone's day up if you sit like five six feet
- 54:07Speaker 7: away from him. I have a six inch tuna sub
- 54:10Speaker 7: from subway, choke it down with some funions and then.
- 54:13Speaker 4: Breathe it in your direction, and you hate your dentist
- 54:17Speaker 4: or your coworker. Dinner the other night was burgers with
- 54:21Speaker 4: onion rings. Nice. That's as good as it gets.
- 54:24Speaker 9: That is, you know what, what's more American than My
- 54:26Speaker 9: wife told me that. I was just speechless for the
- 54:28Speaker 9: next fifteen seconds. She thought I hung up. I was
- 54:31Speaker 9: just like and I said, no, I'm just so happy. Yeah,
- 54:33Speaker 9: I go, I'm coming home.
- 54:35Speaker 7: Now.
- 54:35Speaker 4: What's more?
- 54:36Speaker 6: What is more of onion rings? They're too greasy?
- 54:38Speaker 4: No oh no, no no no no no, and air
- 54:41Speaker 4: fright and then you go for air fire. Okay, yeah,
- 54:43Speaker 4: they got to be deep fried. I mean, in my opinion,
- 54:46Speaker 4: we're gonna we're.
- 54:47Speaker 6: Going to see his own face if we keep going.
- 54:49Speaker 4: You can have his non binary rings if you want.
- 54:53Speaker 4: Jimmy likes his onion rings of hate. I want him
- 54:58Speaker 4: deep fried. And I know, now, do you want to
- 55:00Speaker 4: batter deep fried onion or do you like it when
- 55:02Speaker 4: they just barely wet the onion and then put it
- 55:05Speaker 4: in the dry batter so it actually just has a
- 55:07Speaker 4: little bit of a crisp.
- 55:09Speaker 9: I want the crisp bear, and I want the crisp
- 55:12Speaker 9: frozen on your rings in the air fryer and get
- 55:15Speaker 9: them crispy.
- 55:15Speaker 4: When I when I'm trying to impress you while cooking
- 55:18Speaker 4: his steak, I'll make onion straws.
- 55:20Speaker 8: You know what that is.
- 55:20Speaker 4: Those are good. You cut them real thin and then
- 55:23Speaker 4: and then and then you cook them. But you put
- 55:25Speaker 4: a tiny bit of flour on there, so you get
- 55:27Speaker 4: a little bit of crisp and you pile them on
- 55:28Speaker 4: top of your steak. Oh God almost said the word.
- 55:37Speaker 4: This snack break brought to you by Potato Chip.
- 55:41Speaker 6: Somebody else said, everyone knows you put cheese balls on
- 55:43Speaker 6: a PB and.
- 55:43Speaker 4: Jake cheese balls. People are not just coming to a jack.
- 55:49Speaker 4: You know what's best caught it cheese, and one don't
- 55:52Speaker 4: not caut its cheese. That's a good time, you know,
- 55:54Speaker 4: people say it. I just can't get his little salt.
- 55:57Speaker 7: And pepper, some fresh tomato slices. Oh, what a good
- 56:00Speaker 7: midday afternoon.
- 56:02Speaker 4: Somebody said, marshmallow fluff and doritos. Now I've heard of
- 56:07Speaker 4: a fluffer nutter. You have heard of those, right, Yeah,
- 56:09Speaker 4: peanut butter and yeah, peanut butter. And that's that is
- 56:12Speaker 4: a wonderful experience.
- 56:13Speaker 5: I tried.
- 56:14Speaker 9: Oh, I think they might be on the something fluffer
- 56:18Speaker 9: nutter or marshmallow fluff and Doritos, because you the Doritos
- 56:23Speaker 9: are bringing the punch to.
- 56:24Speaker 4: The party there, right. Yeah, But fluffer nutter, that's just
- 56:27Speaker 4: the filler. I think that might work. No, I'm telling
- 56:30Speaker 4: you it's not gonna work.
- 56:31Speaker 18: I think I think, I.
- 56:32Speaker 4: Say, we try it. No, I'm not gonna try it.
- 56:34Speaker 9: I've never we've my sister used to eat that stuff.
- 56:37Speaker 9: I've never had that marshmallow fluff in my life.
- 56:39Speaker 8: I have.
- 56:40Speaker 6: I've never had a fluffer nutter. That was a thing
- 56:42Speaker 6: in the Northeast.
- 56:43Speaker 4: That sounds like a sexual move.
- 56:44Speaker 11: It does.
- 56:45Speaker 7: It is, and I'm sure it is somewhere, But fluffer nutters,
- 56:48Speaker 7: that's that's big in the Northeast.
- 56:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a that's a Now the person we never
- 56:53Speaker 4: had that in the Midway person I knew. I knew
- 56:55Speaker 4: that used to eat these would toast the bread a
- 56:57Speaker 4: little bit and then peanut butter on one side, marshmallow
- 57:00Speaker 4: fluff on the other, and they ate it like it
- 57:02Speaker 4: was the only thing on the earth. And they would
- 57:04Speaker 4: they would toast the like in the pan with butter
- 57:06Speaker 4: like you're making a grilled cheese. So I had some
- 57:09Speaker 4: buttery crisp to it. People are saying Frido scoops with chili.
- 57:16Speaker 4: I mean again, dug, I really gets that everybody wants
- 57:19Speaker 4: the big thumb like there. You know, the freedo chips
- 57:21Speaker 4: that little like toenails, like toenails that have been cut.
- 57:24Speaker 4: They are the real big fat ones. Well thanks, they
- 57:29Speaker 4: already smell like feet.
- 57:30Speaker 6: Now you're gonna have me picturing toenails.
- 57:33Speaker 4: I don't for a while.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 57:38Speaker 4: And you fill that uncut up with a big lump
- 57:41Speaker 4: of chili and a disc of jalapeno on top. Dude,
- 57:45Speaker 4: nothing better you get.
- 57:48Speaker 9: Don't sleep on the French onion dip with your French
- 57:50Speaker 9: Onion's gotta be ruffles now see, I only go potato
- 57:55Speaker 9: and it's got to be a ruffles when it's a
- 57:57Speaker 9: French onion dep Yeah, you need the gotta be Deans
- 58:00Speaker 9: Dean's French onion dip.
- 58:01Speaker 4: You don't hit your own. They make a hell of
- 58:02Speaker 4: a good day. You gotta make your own, though. Anything
- 58:05Speaker 4: anything you buy that has a shelf life has those
- 58:07Speaker 4: preserves in it that makes it feel weird. Hold on,
- 58:12Speaker 4: I gonna don't do it. I believe you tried it twice. Preservative.
- 58:21Speaker 4: You're so proud of you. I got a thing on
- 58:24Speaker 4: the lip. It calls me to not that lip or
- 58:29Speaker 4: that thing on for one? What are we doing today?
- 58:36Speaker 4: What are we doing that? Tell you all the frozen
- 58:39Speaker 4: on your rings air fryar.
- 58:41Speaker 7: Don't you're gonna tell us now? Is it just a
- 58:43Speaker 7: packet of like onion soup that you add to sell
- 58:46Speaker 7: a cream.
- 58:47Speaker 4: Yes, you don't have to do anything special. That's it.
- 58:49Speaker 4: That's literally, that's what I made for the super Bowl.
- 58:51Speaker 4: One pack. That's it.
- 58:51Speaker 9: Onion soup makes uh thing a sour cream. Mix it
- 58:54Speaker 9: up and can't beat it, and you just can't beat it.
- 58:56Speaker 9: And listen, go all the way. Don't get that that
- 58:59Speaker 9: half like low coals, full blown cow, full blown cow cow.
- 59:05Speaker 4: And the sour cream too. You can't go in there
- 59:07Speaker 4: with like, you know, fat free sour cream. Yeah there
- 59:11Speaker 4: with that fat free donkey crap. Tell me that showed
- 59:16Speaker 4: full We we want full fat dog. That's right, fat

- 59:42Speaker 1: Oh, Jimmy, you old pup's up guy. Yeah, I can't
- 59:45Speaker 1: believe it's from the guy from Black who started at Gabriels.
- 59:48Speaker 1: But speaking of I went to Gabriel's just a couple
- 59:51Speaker 1: of months ago. I had been there about a good
- 59:53Speaker 1: thirty years and the sub I ordered a party. It's
- 59:58Speaker 1: still tasted the same as it did thirty years ago.
- 1:00:02Speaker 19: You guys to go back and try it and don't
- 1:00:05Speaker 19: sleep all of the FreeDOS when you come to us up.
- 1:00:09Speaker 20: Sorry jim, but I firmly disagree with you. I love
- 1:00:11Speaker 20: Drito's with my sub sandwiches, and it's further evidence that
- 1:00:14Speaker 20: you're wrong. As always, go to any subway or firehouse
- 1:00:17Speaker 20: subs or Jersey Mikes or any other standalone that serves chips,
- 1:00:20Speaker 20: you'll find doritos well duh, I.

- 1:00:29Speaker 21: great jelly, crunchy peanut butter.
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: I just don't telling you what.
- 1:00:36Speaker 22: Don't sleep on this. I had peanut butter and jelly
- 1:00:40Speaker 22: and crustables that I then dredged in French toast mix
- 1:00:46Speaker 22: and it was, oh, it was amazing.
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: I almost said dirty words French toast with an incrustable
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: interesting Yeah. Yeah, I mean, look, I'm out against that one.
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: More well up guys, sport from.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: What's we all but hate for Dorito's, man, I know, fantastic, dude.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: Seriously, you're being extra christy man, a little saucy.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: My god, I chipper.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: I never said I hated Dorito's. They don't go with sandwiches,
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: That's all I said. Even with a Cuban sandwich, it
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: doesn't go with it. Dude.
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: It's just it's not a supporting character, and it's a
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: main character. One hundred too much happening with the dessert
- 1:01:29Speaker 9: of their own stage.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: Is what I'm saying. Smorry, welcome back. I'm Jim. There's

- 1:02:14Speaker 4: and saying hey, and chugging smokes, all kinds of stuff.
- 1:02:17Speaker 9: Oh nice, damn, it should be fun, all that stuff.
- 1:02:21Speaker 9: But I don't want now listen, especially your age. I
- 1:02:24Speaker 9: want you to pace yourself. I don't want you to
- 1:02:27Speaker 9: overdo it. Bourbon bus the next day, the next day,
- 1:02:31Speaker 9: minus an hour of sleep.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: Yes, minus an hour of sleep daylight saving time this weekend.
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: So on Saturday night, before you go to bed, if
- 1:02:39Speaker 9: you have manual clocks, I do, like my stove on microwave,
- 1:02:43Speaker 9: you know, maybe one digital clock or two that I
- 1:02:46Speaker 9: manually have to turn ahead.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: All everyone's phones and watches usually do it themselves.
- 1:02:51Speaker 9: Yes, but you're losing an hour of sleep, So prepare
- 1:02:55Speaker 9: yourself accordingly, because we are launching the inaugural bus on
- 1:03:02Speaker 9: something and I.
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: Don't want to oversleep for that, because they will not wait.
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: For you man, I gotta tell you. I woke up
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: in the middle of the night to go to the
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: bathroom and I noticed that because I keep my phone
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: turned face down on my nightstand. Do you guys do
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: the same thing I do? Yeah, just a case right,
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: And I noticed that it was glowing and I was like,
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: what the hell is going on? And I picked it
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: up and it was updating, and I felt invaded. It
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: was wild because it updates when you're not using it,
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: when it's plugged in, and it was updating and like
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: doing its own thing. I'm like, this thing is its
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: own life. It doesn't even need me. It literally doesn't mean.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: It was just doing its own thing in the middle
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: of the night. You sound. I didn't ask for it
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: to do it or anything. It was just updating it
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: the first time I experienced that. How are you dressed? Wow? Yeow?
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: How love? Have you had a iPhone? I don't know, buddy,
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: I've never seen it updated ten years. I've never seen
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: it in the process of doing it. It's like sneaks
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: around on me.
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: If you go into settings, it'll say like do updates automatically,
- 1:03:52Speaker 9: and they pick a time, usually in the middle of
- 1:03:54Speaker 9: the night.
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: Sure, yeah, I was telling you guys about a promotion
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: that was going on in an NBA team, and you
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: guys tell me if you agree with this or not.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: An NBA player has taken exception to an Atlanta Hawks
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: promotional night and the reason why they're having their Magic
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: City Nights scheduled from March sixteenth against the very own
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: Orlando Magic. But a player for neither team isn't too
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: fond of paying tribute of what they're doing. Do you
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: know what the story is?
- 1:04:18Speaker 8: No?
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: Are you gont me crazy jack? Do you know what
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: this is?
- 1:04:20Speaker 10: I do?
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: Okay? I heard it in Monster Sports. Angel had very nice,
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: while the Hawks are calling it an ode to a
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: cultural institution. San Antonio Spurs center Luke Cornett shared his
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: displeasure in a letter posted on Medium. I guess is
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: a social media platform. I do not know the answer
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: to that. He's a nine year vet of the NBA.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: It was a twenty twenty four NBA champ with the
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: Boston Celtics. He called for the night to be canceled.
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: What do you think they're promoting?
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: Well, it's against the Orlando Magic, and.
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: It's they're calling it. They're calling it Magic City Night.
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: Mag Magic City is a famous institution in Atlanta. Atlanta
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: known for these institutions. Oh, it's a strip club. It
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: is a strip lak. They're promoting a strip club at
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: an NBA game. Ooh, the collaboration aggressive that that's a choice.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: This collaboration and theme night is very meaningful to me
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: after all the work we did put the Magic City together,
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: an American fantasy, said Hawks principal owner, filmmaker and actor
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: Jamie Gertz. Oh wow, do you remember who that is?
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well she's one of the richest celebrities
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: because she married the guy who owns his team. She's
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: worked like three and a half billion dollars, and I
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: think she wasn't put us together. The iconic Atlanta institution
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: has made such an incredible impact on our city and
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: it's a unique culture. The guy who is protesting said
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: allowing the night to continue without protests would reflect poorly
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: on us as an NBA community, specifically in being complicit
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: in the potential objectification and mistreatment of women in our society.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: He wrote that he thought others throughout the league were
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: surprised at the Hawks decision to have this promotional night.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: That is kind of crazy. Yeah, I mean that is
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: kind of nuts. I mean, could you imagine the magic
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: having like a Rachel's Night? People would come apart at
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: the seams if that happened in the city.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I I.
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: I'm shocked that she would head it.
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: It's as here. The Hawks have actually seen really good
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: reception for this promotional night. As tick pick reported, the
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: get in price was initially ten dollars for the game
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: and has since skyrocketed to how much a game like
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: to get into this game? Initially it was like ten
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: dollars to get in. I guess maybe to sit in
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: the blez in the nosebleed, I was going to give
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: fifty Yeah, ninety four dollars. Wow, with the average, like Ben,
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: that is ballsy, dude, I've never heard of anything like that.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: To have a to have an NBA team promote a
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: night with like a strip club, that is like, that's
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: in nineties.
- 1:06:55Speaker 6: That's kind of crazy, righties, And I guess.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: They boasted about it in their press release, including a
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: performance by Ti Rapper two, who co branded a limited
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: edition hoodie, and even the establishment's world famous lemon pepper
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Chicken wings are going to be served in the arena
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: as well, Jamie Gertz, I didn't know she was an
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: owner of the she's married to the guy. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: she's married to that guy. That says here, the NBA
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: should desire to protect an esteem women, many of whom
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: work diligently every day to make this the best basketball
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: league in the world. We should promote an atmosphere that's
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: protected and respectful of daughters, wives, sisters, moms and partners
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: that we know in love. What do you think about that?
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: Do you think they should do that? I mean, that's well,
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: here's the thing. I mean, it's a legitimate business or
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: not like breaking any laws or anything like that. But
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: I mean, but to promote a business that does.
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: That, that's been a challenge, that relationship with companies like that.
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: I know, we went through it in the in the nineties.
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: I was going to say it's so nineties though, it's really.
- 1:07:56Speaker 9: And they are and I'm not that familiar you're with
- 1:08:00Speaker 9: Magic City. I just know it's pretty well established and it's.
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: Iconic in Atlanta. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I just know that
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: they are loaded to the gills with strip clubs and
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: the atl Oh yeah, I like them all right. For
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: seven nine one six one four one. You can always
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: text us at seven seven zero three one. Yes, yeah,
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: should they do it? Uh, you know, it's definitely as
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: depth that it's a choice. Let me give you an example.
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: I think it maybe is Atlanta because if they did
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: this in Miami, it wouldn't be the same as Orlando. Right,
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: Miami obviously has strip clubs. We know about that for sure.
- 1:08:33Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I think Atlanta kind of fits that too,
- 1:08:35Speaker 9: more than in Orlando, but definitely more than Orlando.
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: But I think you know, they're only They're like if
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: Vegas had a basketball team, you could see like something
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: happening there. Maybe La, Yeah, you could see it. Maybe.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: I don't think maybe even in La is way more
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: conservative than people believe it is. By the way, Los Angeles, Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:51Speaker 15: Is it?
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: It is? All right?
- 1:08:53Speaker 9: I would uh yeah. Atlanta seems to be like right on,
- 1:08:58Speaker 9: right on track one. One of the you cities that
- 1:09:01Speaker 9: could get away with it.
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: I don't know Cleveland, Cleveland's stocks, so I'm right, all right.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: For Cleveland, nobody cares. Yeah, yeah, better fact, probably lower
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: the price. Yeah all right for seven nine six four
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: one back in a second with more than Jim Corbrat show.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: You know, been wild it's back in like ninety eight.
- 1:09:22Speaker 20: If there are no magic, we're like, hey, you gonna
- 1:09:25Speaker 20: be a great ideas we do Macbeth and the Buff
- 1:09:28Speaker 20: in the.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Halftime show and uh stuff.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: The magic dragon was in the cauldrit that'd been wild right.
- 1:09:39Speaker 19: Okay, So you're telling me that some of these NBA
- 1:09:41Speaker 19: players got a problem with Magic City Night when these
- 1:09:44Speaker 19: are the same NBA players that date those snippers, that
- 1:09:49Speaker 19: have kids by them, that marry them and marry and
- 1:09:53Speaker 19: date the only fans models.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: Come on, man, that's hipocrisy at its finest hip hoper.
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: They can't be serious.
- 1:10:01Speaker 13: Good afternoon, Jim Colbert crew. Quick comment on the strip
- 1:10:03Speaker 13: club story. Yeah, if we try to hide it and
- 1:10:06Speaker 13: pretend those industries don't exist, that's when the abuse in
- 1:10:09Speaker 13: the human trafficking occur. Honestly, we just need to normalize it.
- 1:10:13Speaker 13: It's another job that's going to happen, whether or not
- 1:10:15Speaker 13: we wanted to or not. Normalization brings transparency and oversight
- 1:10:20Speaker 13: and regulation and safety.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: Have a good afternoon.
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: Hey you buddy, appreciate that. Welcome back to the Jim
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: Colbert Show or already one of four point one. I'm Jim.
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: There's deb Jack is here as well. Yeah, if you'd
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: like to send a talk back, it's easy. You can
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: get in on the conversation. Grab the iHeartRadio app, go
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: to real Radio and use that mic to send your
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: comment over to Jack. We'll get you on there. While
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: you're there. Please make us your number one pre set.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: That helps us out quite a bit.
- 1:10:42Speaker 9: And I will disagree with the top back on the
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: hypocrisy of it because it was one player speaking out it.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: It's not like the whole league is saying.
- 1:10:50Speaker 8: It, right.
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: Yeah, And they went through with it and it was
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: it was successful. Yeah. Wait I thought it was happening
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: on March sixty. Yeah. But what I'm saying is the
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: prices of the tickets already have already like gone up
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: ninety percent alight nine, So I'd be more likely to
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: go to that game now. A question came in on
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: the on the texting service that was very interesting. Do
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: you believe that an NBA team, if approached by only fans,
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: would allow them to put their you know, the only
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: fans arena? Would they do that? Like, I mean the
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: naming rights I think for our arena down here, Like,
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: what's it like ten fifteen million dollars a year or
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: something later, or for the for the contract it's uh,
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: you know, two or three or four or five years
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: for a certain amount.
- 1:11:31Speaker 9: It's a heavy investment in the Kia Center, right for yeah,
- 1:11:36Speaker 9: or Camping World Stadium or Interim Coast Stadium.
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: It's not cheap.
- 1:11:41Speaker 9: However, I think part of it is the brand that
- 1:11:45Speaker 9: you want to associate your team with. Well, yeah, of
- 1:11:48Speaker 9: course there's different levels of that, right, So doing a
- 1:11:51Speaker 9: one off night is i'd say different than branding the
- 1:11:55Speaker 9: place where you play your games.
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: And I think some.
- 1:11:58Speaker 9: Teams might for it, but some would not. I mean,
- 1:12:02Speaker 9: you have a bunch of cryptocurrency places and you know
- 1:12:05Speaker 9: that can.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: Be sus right, right, right? Okay, So let's see here
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: the current Kia deal. While the exact figure is private,
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: experts and reports suggest it likely exceeds the previous one.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: Comparable NBA naming rights deals in Florida, such as the
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: Cassia Center in Miami. I guess that's where Miami plays
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: their NBA game? Can say a center to say? Is
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: that what it is? I believe? So is one seventeen
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: over seventeen years, about seven million dollars annually, right at that?
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: But if only fans came up and they said, I
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: tell you what, We'll give you one hundred and fifty
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: million a year, would you do it? I think that's
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: one of those situations where like if it was Playboy
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: back in the day or Penthouse that you say, no,
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: It's twenty twenty six. In money always talks, it does.
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: But man, I gotta tell you know, do you think
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: that about it? I mean, I kind of agree with Jack.
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: One night of that is one of those things. But
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: even one night of that, imagine you had a business
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: and you did one day, we're gonna do something really sketchy.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: I mean, it's still the ownership approving that. So even
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: if you're only doing it one night, the ownership made
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: the decision to make a strip club a focal point
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: of one of the evenings of their basketball team. And
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: I think that's that would sit kind of odd with
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: some people for a while. Maybe, Oh, I believe it
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: would sit odd. But when did it stopped them from
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: coming to the business.
- 1:13:22Speaker 7: Yeah, like you said yourself, ticket prices are already up,
- 1:13:25Speaker 7: and here we are in Orlando talking about an event
- 1:13:27Speaker 7: that's happening in Atlanta.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: Yeah, because if it was an OnlyFans car dealership, and
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: the cars were like one thousand dollars cheaper. I mean,
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: you know you're gonna bum rush that dealership. I mean
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: you're gonna be right there with only fans buying cars.
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: I mean, it's just how it is, all right, four
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: seven nine one six one four one. Again, you can
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: always text us at seven seven zero three one. Uh So,
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: I was saying earlier in the show that there's something
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: to hit the auction block. And although we have heard
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: of this happen before, this is a considerably different one altogether.
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: And this is becoming a thing in the world of
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: the ultra rich, that they want these things and they
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: want to put them in their houses for conversation starters,
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: television memorabilia. That man's coward. That's actually a really good one,
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: because I know for a while that was it. That's
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: not the case, you know it well.
- 1:14:16Speaker 7: I had seen two articles recently that said the latest
- 1:14:20Speaker 7: trends for the ultra wealthy were to buy sports teams, Yes,
- 1:14:25Speaker 7: and dinosaur bones.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: The Triceratops skeleton that stood in a Wyoming museum for
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: decades will be auctioned off. A rare instance of a
- 1:14:35Speaker 4: museum exhibited dinosaur going to the auction block, just as
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: the market for prehistoric giants has hit record highs. This
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: is the new thing. I could see that the new
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: thing is having.
- 1:14:47Speaker 6: They just have too much money a.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: Gd dinosaur in your house, like a dinosaur room where
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: you can walk in here, and this is a triceratops.
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: It's dubbed tray. The open bidding will start from March
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: seventeenth to the thirty first. It's an online auction program
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: founded by Grammy winning artist and producer Pharrell Williams. How
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: much do you think the pre auction estimate is? This
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: is a sixty six million year old dinosaur that was
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: living in the Crestaceous period or Cretaceous period. I think
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: it's crestaceous. It's cretaceous. The R E T A C
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: E O U S crestaceous. No, it's there's no s
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: before the T. It's cretaceous or cretaceous. Huss the CEO
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: seventeen meters long. It was there at the ninety ninety
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: five grand opening. I'm going sixty million, sixty I gotta
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: tell you it was a little lower than I thought
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: it would be. Really well, yeah, it's a full it's
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: a full dinosaur. I mean it's it's a femur, it's
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: a full dinas. It shouldn't be cheaper than that, all right?
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: Forty five million, yeah, four and a half to five
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: million dollars. Yeah, well that's pocket change for those chums.
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I mean that's a watch for fl Williams.
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: But think about I mean where we do our Poka
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: tournament every.
- 1:16:10Speaker 6: Year, right underneath the diet dinostation.
- 1:16:12Speaker 9: In the Dinosaur Room at the Orlando Science Center. By
- 1:16:15Speaker 9: the way, save the date August fifteenth. Oh nice, But
- 1:16:19Speaker 9: the so the I mean, the esthetic is awesome, which
- 1:16:24Speaker 9: is why we love going there. So if you could
- 1:16:27Speaker 9: afford it, why not have that aesthetic in your home?
- 1:16:31Speaker 9: I guess the question is should they?
- 1:16:33Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:16:33Speaker 7: Why? I mean it should be accessible to the public,
- 1:16:37Speaker 7: a la a museum by university, a place where children,
- 1:16:40Speaker 7: where the.
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: Community can go. And it's not just another But if
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: they're a thing, bragging thing.
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: But if they're factoring that out, Let's say they're making
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: space for something else and something has to go, and
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: they figure, this thing's been on the floor for twenty
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: five years. Anybody that lives around here has coming to
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: this museum in the last two decades have seen this,
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: let's get something new in there. Matter of fact, the
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: Science Center just did this very thing, just went through
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: an entire rebuild because people have been there, they'd seen
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: what we had to offer. They rebuilt the entire habitat area,
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: included a bunch of new stuff. It was under construction
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: for damn near what three years while they're building that,
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: So this doesn't shock me. I'm kind of with you, though.
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: I thought there would be a place, maybe a Smithsonian
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: or maybe a government institution or how about it, that
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: would house these to keep them on display rather than
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: in some millionaire's room.
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: But they are I mean the Smithsonian, I assume still
- 1:17:28Speaker 9: has their dinosaur bones. It's not like the museums are
- 1:17:32Speaker 9: deplete of this exhibit.
- 1:17:34Speaker 7: But that's the Smithsonian, which can afford to get the
- 1:17:37Speaker 7: better exhibits.
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: What about in some of your smaller towns.
- 1:17:40Speaker 7: You're less economically advantaged, places where they could really benefit
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: from one museum to another museum donating a display.
- 1:17:48Speaker 9: Yeah, and I think that on the negative side of it,
- 1:17:51Speaker 9: if they're creating this demand, then it's less likely a
- 1:17:56Speaker 9: museum will be able to exactly get a hold of.
- 1:17:58Speaker 7: Maybe it's just like turning down the only fans money.
- 1:18:01Speaker 7: At a certain point, it just becomes something you can justify.
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: Maybe the MEM's Old Lizard Emporium will take it, Gatorland
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: could take it. In twenty twenty four, the remains of
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: the eight of an Apex Stegosaurus went for a whole
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: bunch more, shattering the previous record of another one called
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: stan which is a t rex skeleton. That one went
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: for thirty eight thirty one point eight million. The one
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: sold lash Or two years ago. In twenty twenty four,
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: eight Apex the stegosaurus went for forty four million. So
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: this thing going at five and being a full size
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: dinosaur is on the cheap. Dude, you can pick this
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: up for nothing.
- 1:18:37Speaker 7: But it's a what you say, it's a stegosaurus.
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: This one is a triceratos.
- 1:18:42Speaker 7: Okay, so it's not one of the big macho dinosaurs
- 1:18:45Speaker 7: like having an Apex predator.
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: Now that up's your price? How sad? Yeah, I would
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: agree with that one hundred percent. That's in a sign
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: that the dinosaur fossil market remained strong. A rare young
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: dinosaur skeleton blue past its four to six million dollars,
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: so of the's pre auction estimate in July and began
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: fetching up more than thirty million dollars in a B
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: and A bidding frenzy, because you got to remember, how
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: often do one of these come up for sale?
- 1:19:08Speaker 6: Apparently often enough.
- 1:19:09Speaker 7: Vince McMahon and Michael Jordan both had t rex heads
- 1:19:12Speaker 7: in their office.
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: They really well, I know it was it.
- 1:19:17Speaker 7: Dana White from UFC has a real sabertoothed tiger skull
- 1:19:20Speaker 7: in his office, does he really? Yeah, because you don't
- 1:19:22Speaker 7: have nads if you don't have an animal skull.
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: I show his interview on CV Saturday morning. So wasn't
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: that like a fluff piece totally? Well, yeah, they're all
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: propaganda now, it's hither all buddies now. Yeah, but the yeah,
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: I'll paramount. But yeah, his office was.
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: Just like, oh my god, it was like testosterone.
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: Just so I guess it really was. I laughed and
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: felt really bad for him. It says if a fossil
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: goes in a private collection without without guaranteed access forever,
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: the data is essentially lost to science. So I guess
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: exactly like, if you buy this thing as a private owner,
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: and maybe you make a deal with scientists that they
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: can have access to it a couple times a year,
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: like the Shroud of Turn, like they did for years,
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: like when people trying to figure out if that was
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: real or not, Like they would let you come in
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: and cut a one by one centimeter swath of cloth
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: to study, and they would do that once every thirty
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: years or something.
- 1:20:15Speaker 7: But again that's a scientific or archaeological institution making that choices.
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: Not for real. It says here that you know, I
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: have a problem with that. Yeah, I agreed. It is
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: because we've always had this paradigm shift and what owning
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: dinosaur means to society. People are naturally gravitating toward these
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: benevolent situations where they loan them long term to museums
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: or they end up donating them to a new museum
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: that's just being born. So even though the private owners,
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: what they're saying is, even though the private owners buy these,
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: eventually they will only be on display on their property
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: for a short period of time until a museum pops
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: up and needs a dinosaur. Then they'll loan them out.
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: And I'm sure the plaque will say on loan from right.
- 1:20:57Speaker 7: Right, And I'm sure that's the way to assuage the
- 1:21:00Speaker 7: critics who are like, yeah, this is really the best
- 1:21:02Speaker 7: use of these Dina Bones. It really needed being Farrell's
- 1:21:05Speaker 7: music room.
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: Haven't they. They've probably gotten all the information they could
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: get from them.
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: I mean they've had I don't know, they're still discovering
- 1:21:12Speaker 7: new dinosaur species to this day. So I don't think
- 1:21:15Speaker 7: they have And I don't think it should be up
- 1:21:17Speaker 7: to a celebrity giving permission. That should stop the scientific community.
- 1:21:21Speaker 7: I don't see where one should have precedence over the other.
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: The scientific community should certainly have precedence over the celebrity,
- 1:21:27Speaker 7: but the problem is that, I mean, I don't want
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: to find out someone was, you know, snorting coke off
- 1:21:31Speaker 7: of a stan.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: Although very cool, you compare that up with that Atlanta night.
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: Come on, you lost me on that one and bones
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: is that tonight at the Hawks game?
- 1:21:53Speaker 13: I know?
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: Ho one text seven seven zero three Wonner Buddy Ray
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: Trendley up next, Joe.
- 1:22:01Speaker 23: So you brought up the topic of possibilities of naming
- 1:22:04Speaker 23: rights for some of these arenas, stadiums, sporting venues, you know,
- 1:22:09Speaker 23: possibly only fans per se buying out the naming rights
- 1:22:12Speaker 23: to one of these.
- 1:22:13Speaker 18: I'm pretty sure it wasn't.
- 1:22:14Speaker 23: Just a couple of years ago, Miami got a new
- 1:22:16Speaker 23: arena for the basketball team, and I remember when that
- 1:22:20Speaker 23: was built and announced to open. They said that the
- 1:22:23Speaker 23: porn company Browsers was making a bid to get the
- 1:22:26Speaker 23: naming the rights there. It fell through, but they did
- 1:22:28Speaker 23: try and it was Miami.
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: Wow. But what the heck's the difference between Hooter's Night
- 1:22:34Speaker 4: in the nineties to well, Buddy striper night.
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: Man, if they're not getting naked, why does it matter?
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: What are you serious you're asking me? I'll tell you
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: what you do me a favor. Ask your wife if
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: there's a difference between a strip club and Hooters, She'll
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: let you know there's a major difference. Did you get
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: out of here? All right? Welcome back on Jimmler's deb
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: Hello Jack is here as well.
- 1:22:58Speaker 9: It's going out with the boys, honey, exactly.
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: Usually on Mondays, this guy drops by, but he just
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: makes his own schedule and thinks he can do whatever
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: he wants.
- 1:23:06Speaker 7: Man.
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: God, he is a great attorney though, I mean, I
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: can't take that away from him. But man, this guy's schedule,
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: this guy will do whatever he pleases. He wears what
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: I mean, He's just a baller, he's a king. I
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: think it's because he's so well dressed. Is that what
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: it is? I think that's why he gets away with stuff.
- 1:23:20Speaker 4: One firm for life dot Com. It's TK Law Offices
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: right there in Altamont Springs and now also in DeLand.
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: Good in loud for a buddy, mister Ray Tranly says,
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:23:30Speaker 21: No matter how well I dress, my wife still doesn't
- 1:23:33Speaker 21: think Hooters is the same a strip.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: I just don't get it.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: Close. Listen, you're a lawyer. You are paid to argue
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: points and sometimes don't make a lot of sense. You
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: wouldn't even start with that one.
- 1:23:44Speaker 18: Just concede the point and move on.
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: Move on exactly how you been? But everything good?
- 1:23:49Speaker 18: I've been doing great. How you guys doing good?
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: To hear that, been doing a wonderful good suit today?
- 1:23:52Speaker 4: You look great.
- 1:23:52Speaker 18: Thank you. I appreciate it.
- 1:23:53Speaker 21: I had to switch my shirt before I came in,
- 1:23:56Speaker 21: had sushi for lunch, and my assistant as I was
- 1:23:58Speaker 21: walking out, she says, you know, yell, little soy sauce
- 1:24:00Speaker 21: in your shirt, and I's like a man, I know
- 1:24:03Speaker 21: better not to wear white on sushi day.
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: Man, I gotta tell you there's there are a few
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: times I can wear white. I mean, I'm so sloppy
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: other people and they see me wearing white and it's like,
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: you know, we're going to an Italian place, right, I mean,
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: I'm serious. They just because I'm a slob man. I
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: just pilledup on myself all the time.
- 1:24:21Speaker 21: I like to claim that I'm pretty good, but I
- 1:24:22Speaker 21: think my wife is pretty good at getting the stains
- 1:24:24Speaker 21: out of my shirts.
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: And that's probably the Really, that's exactly what it is.
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: Ray comes in on Monday's usually we talk about cases
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: that are happening in the world today. He was a
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: special special appearance day of five twenty and I text
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: you this afternoon a case, and it just turns out
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: I think you were thinking the same exact thing. Is
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: the guy Sam Colin Gray, is that this is that
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: case where his son was a school shooter and he
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: is now on trial because they were proving that even
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: though he had prior knowledge that his kid had some
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: problems and possibly had the propensity for violence, he actually
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: went ahead and bought this guy a high this kid
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: a high powered rifle because he'd gone out hunting. And
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: you know, when he did that, he thought that took
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: away that that thing that he had. He thought that
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: that really quote cured him of this thing he had,
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: and of course it did not. And now he's on
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: trial and I think the decision was announced today.
- 1:25:20Speaker 21: Yeah, the jerry entered verdict of guilty for manslaughter and
- 1:25:23Speaker 21: for the second degree murder. And what we're seeing, we
- 1:25:27Speaker 21: saw this with that case out of Michigan a few
- 1:25:29Speaker 21: years ago, with the two parents that are criminally charged,
- 1:25:34Speaker 21: that there's a shift in American jurisprudence. It used to be,
- 1:25:38Speaker 21: you know, parents are not responsible for the intentional torts
- 1:25:41Speaker 21: of their children. Intentional torts are you know, intentional crime
- 1:25:44Speaker 21: and intentional acts that harm other people. And the logic
- 1:25:47Speaker 21: behind that was there's no way a parent could predict
- 1:25:49Speaker 21: or or possibly guess that their child's going to commit
- 1:25:52Speaker 21: this criminal action, and so therefore they couldn't be held
- 1:25:55Speaker 21: liable or responsible. And we've seen a shift, and it's
- 1:25:59Speaker 21: to the point now where I think state legislatures are
- 1:26:01Speaker 21: trying to impose statutes that imposed liability, but they're they're
- 1:26:05Speaker 21: using a traditional kind of criminally negligent framework where you know,
- 1:26:10Speaker 21: you've got a duty to protect people from harm that
- 1:26:14Speaker 21: you know of and you hit the nail on the head.
- 1:26:17Speaker 18: This child was troubled.
- 1:26:19Speaker 21: Dad admitted he was having troubles in school and he
- 1:26:21Speaker 21: wasn't getting along and he had some he had some
- 1:26:25Speaker 21: aggressive tendencies and been in trouble with the school resource officer.
- 1:26:29Speaker 21: And then the mom's testimony, even though she's not really
- 1:26:31Speaker 21: involved in the child's life, mom's testimony, she's like, there's
- 1:26:34Speaker 21: always been something wrong with him, you know, I've always
- 1:26:37Speaker 21: been worried about him. He needs to get psychiatric help.
- 1:26:39Speaker 21: And so I really think that sealed the deal there
- 1:26:42Speaker 21: for dad that he knew or should have known that
- 1:26:45Speaker 21: giving this child a firearm unrestricted right it was. It
- 1:26:48Speaker 21: was not under lock and key was not in a safe.
- 1:26:51Speaker 21: He had it in his bedroom, he had access to
- 1:26:53Speaker 21: it twenty four to seven, he had access to ammunition
- 1:26:56Speaker 21: twenty four to seven, and the dad didn't take any
- 1:27:00Speaker 21: cautions to secure that. And I think, you know, for
- 1:27:04Speaker 21: at least the last thirty years. I'm trying to think
- 1:27:07Speaker 21: of when Columbine was ninety eight to seven.
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: I'm checking on that right now.
- 1:27:13Speaker 18: It's gotta be around to thirty years now.
- 1:27:15Speaker 4: Yeah, but it might have been.
- 1:27:18Speaker 18: It could have been two thousand too, maybe.
- 1:27:23Speaker 6: Yeah, h y nine April twenty all right, so.
- 1:27:27Speaker 18: You know in three years will be thirty years.
- 1:27:30Speaker 21: You know, since then, there's been mandatory locks that are
- 1:27:34Speaker 21: you know, when you buy a firearm, you get mandatory locks.
- 1:27:37Speaker 21: You know, they have waiting periods, waiting periods, you know,
- 1:27:40Speaker 21: but basically it's secure your firearms and ammunition. Don't be
- 1:27:43Speaker 21: leaving around children. And you know, we we saw this
- 1:27:46Speaker 21: trend early with children that harm themselves, you know, through
- 1:27:49Speaker 21: accidental discharges and things like that, and now we're seeing
- 1:27:52Speaker 21: it with these intentional torts where these parents are gonna
- 1:27:54Speaker 21: be held liable. You've got to secure your firearms. I mean,
- 1:27:57Speaker 21: it's the Second Amendment right to have a firearm, but
- 1:27:59Speaker 21: you have to be responsible gun owner.
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: That's right. He killed two teachers and two students at
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: a high school in Georgia.
- 1:28:05Speaker 7: Plus how many school shootings from the Michigan from the
- 1:28:08Speaker 7: case even new Town from where we knew the shooters
- 1:28:12Speaker 7: had intense mental health issues and threats and made threats.
- 1:28:16Speaker 6: And yet the parents in all.
- 1:28:17Speaker 7: Of those cases still decided to buy these weapons for
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: their children and didn't.
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: This guy's daughter also didn't. This guy's daughter also testify
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: against him and say that the father asked her to
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: either cover for him or something.
- 1:28:32Speaker 9: Yeah, and I believe she's a strange from him now.
- 1:28:34Speaker 9: I don't even think she's staying at home because he said, hey,
- 1:28:38Speaker 9: be coold, you know, cover for me.
- 1:28:40Speaker 15: You know, you.
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: Don't say that I knew. I think we actually don't
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: say that I knew that he had these problems. Don't
- 1:28:47Speaker 4: say because I guess he had some stuff hanging on
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: his walls in his room and some other images online
- 1:28:53Speaker 4: that when he went into his room, I think he
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: also had some stuff that was talking about uh, one
- 1:29:00Speaker 4: of the other shooters, and and that was Columbine. I
- 1:29:05Speaker 4: don't know if it was Columbine or the other guy,
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: like the Nicholas Cruz. Yeah, the cruise. There was some
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: kind of fascination about that or something, so like he
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: knew that this kid had that kind of that that interest.
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: And then the course gives him a high powered rifle,
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: and then not long after that, he goes up and
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: does the worst possible thing you could do.
- 1:29:24Speaker 21: Well, and you know, taking anybody's life is tragic and terrible,
- 1:29:29Speaker 21: and you know there should be accountability for that, but
- 1:29:32Speaker 21: taking a child's life.
- 1:29:34Speaker 18: You know, and I think.
- 1:29:37Speaker 21: I don't know where the line ends as far as
- 1:29:41Speaker 21: this shift that we're seeing in the law, but I
- 1:29:44Speaker 21: think we could all agree that it's important for this
- 1:29:47Speaker 21: state to protect children from these types of acts of violence. Yeah,
- 1:29:51Speaker 21: And you know, one and I hate to say it
- 1:29:53Speaker 21: this way, but one good thing that's come out of
- 1:29:55Speaker 21: these these recent school of shootings is we're now seeing
- 1:29:58Speaker 21: better cooperation between law enforce in schools on when there
- 1:30:01Speaker 21: are these allegations that it's getting to law enforcement. You know,
- 1:30:06Speaker 21: we have these red flag laws in Florida and things
- 1:30:08Speaker 21: like that where law enforcement can actually go into your
- 1:30:10Speaker 21: house and confiscate the firearm from the home until you know,
- 1:30:14Speaker 21: it's judicated that it's it's rife for the firearms we returned.
- 1:30:18Speaker 21: And so, you know, I'm not necessarily saying I'm glad
- 1:30:22Speaker 21: that these things are happening, but it's at least starting
- 1:30:25Speaker 21: conversations that there has to be some common sense approach
- 1:30:28Speaker 21: to how do we deal with the mental health issues,
- 1:30:30Speaker 21: how do we deal with these unsecured firearm issues, how
- 1:30:33Speaker 21: do you.
- 1:30:33Speaker 18: Do with these school shootings that just seemingly keep happening.
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: Over and over And it says here prosecutors are able
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: to charge this guy with murder because Georgia has a
- 1:30:41Speaker 4: very unusual second degree murder law, which actually just went
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: in effect last year or in twenty fourteen. So in
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: twenty fourteen they changed it. So I guess the refirement.
- 1:30:51Speaker 18: Three felony to a second degree.
- 1:30:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so the requirement's changed, And that's also
- 1:30:55Speaker 4: a big part of how they were able to charge
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: this guy, in which I'm sure the nation is kind
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: of looking at this and the Prumley case as well
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: and thinking, well, you know, hopefully if we put some
- 1:31:03Speaker 4: of these laws into action, these parents will think twice
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: about handing, you know, their kids high powered guns, especially
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: if they have, you know, no connection with having a
- 1:31:12Speaker 4: weapon of that nature, and then also have thought processes
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: that parallel this guy. It's not good.
- 1:31:17Speaker 21: But again, even if you're not handing the firearm over,
- 1:31:20Speaker 21: I think, you know, I think that there's like a
- 1:31:23Speaker 21: mental divide that people can have where they could say, well,
- 1:31:26Speaker 21: I didn't give my child a firearm, but if your
- 1:31:29Speaker 21: child still has access to firearms and access to ammunition,
- 1:31:33Speaker 21: I mean, I think it's something that you need to
- 1:31:36Speaker 21: think about and say, I might be criminally liable if
- 1:31:38Speaker 21: something happens. A kid I grew up with can't walk
- 1:31:42Speaker 21: today because they were messing around with his dad's revolver
- 1:31:46Speaker 21: and you know, one thing happens and he got shot
- 1:31:48Speaker 21: in the lure back and now he's paralyzed.
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: Yeah, we got it from the same exact situation. Was
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: shot during a hunting thing and he's paralyzed from the
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: waist down.
- 1:31:55Speaker 21: And so I mean, you got to take it seriously.
- 1:31:58Speaker 21: We all like to think that our kids are smart
- 1:32:00Speaker 21: and responsible and would never do something. But all it
- 1:32:03Speaker 21: takes is one accident.
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: And that's all it is.
- 1:32:05Speaker 21: Is one accident that changes your life, that child's life,
- 1:32:08Speaker 21: somebody else's life.
- 1:32:09Speaker 9: And sometimes it's a friend and that that dynamic that
- 1:32:13Speaker 9: changes when your kid is around other kids and they
- 1:32:17Speaker 9: lean into that is one lock enough?
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: Is a trigger lock enough to say, hey, my gun
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: was secure? Yeah?
- 1:32:25Speaker 21: And I don't I don't think that it's as arbitrary
- 1:32:30Speaker 21: as one lock or one safe. I think you take
- 1:32:32Speaker 21: steps right. It's it's layers of protection. You know, trigger
- 1:32:36Speaker 21: lock in a safe. You know, maybe you have one
- 1:32:38Speaker 21: gun that you carry every single day, Maybe you put
- 1:32:41Speaker 21: that into one safe that you know is hidden or
- 1:32:44Speaker 21: out of sight. But you know, these safes are not
- 1:32:47Speaker 21: designed to be impenetrable, right, Like you can get a
- 1:32:51Speaker 21: crowbar and probably open one of these little handgun safes.
- 1:32:54Speaker 21: And if that's the case, I don't know if you've
- 1:32:56Speaker 21: done your job?
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: Yeah do you? I mean, okay, So let's look at
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: this for you and I both understand the idea of hunting,
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: and you and I both have owned weapons, jackguns and
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: gun as well. When I grew I grew up in
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: a you know again, a small town where and I
- 1:33:11Speaker 4: think this small town, whether it be Plack or Ovito
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: or Memes or Mithlow or wherever, the culture is way different,
- 1:33:17Speaker 4: right that I think that maybe the culture around guns
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: also needs to be addressed, because you know, every kid
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: I went to school with had either a shotgun or
- 1:33:29Speaker 4: a high powered rifle in their window doors, not locked
- 1:33:32Speaker 4: on their truck in school, in the parking lot with
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: the biggest armory at any day of the week. Was
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: not at any of the police stations. It was in
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: the parking lot of Placa High School. And I could
- 1:33:42Speaker 4: probably say that about twenty high schools not even ten
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: miles from where I am now, and those people are
- 1:33:47Speaker 4: not running out and shooting people of their guns, even
- 1:33:50Speaker 4: though they're completely accessible and completely capable. The difference is
- 1:33:55Speaker 4: is how those people were raised with those guns, what
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: they learned growing up about guns and using firearms.
- 1:34:01Speaker 6: I think it goes beyond that too.
- 1:34:02Speaker 7: I think it's how guns are portrayed in the media,
- 1:34:04Speaker 7: the music, social media. I think there's so many outside forces,
- 1:34:09Speaker 7: unfortunately that make a parent's job a hundred times harder
- 1:34:13Speaker 7: than it was even twenty years ago, because while you're
- 1:34:15Speaker 7: doing your best job, as soon as your kid hits
- 1:34:18Speaker 7: that front door, all that work can be undone by
- 1:34:22Speaker 7: peer pressure, social media, wanting to be cool in your reels,
- 1:34:26Speaker 7: and it can undo everything you've been teaching your kids
- 1:34:29Speaker 7: about absolutely.
- 1:34:31Speaker 21: And you know, I remember going back to my high
- 1:34:33Speaker 21: school from our ten year reunion and just talking to
- 1:34:36Speaker 21: my old vice principal about things that have been happening
- 1:34:40Speaker 21: in the school and the violence that was happening. And
- 1:34:42Speaker 21: you know, if you got in a fistfight with somebody, yeah, disagreement, whatever,
- 1:34:46Speaker 21: that was it Like, maybe you didn't like that person,
- 1:34:48Speaker 21: maybe you'd avoid them in the hallway, but that was
- 1:34:50Speaker 21: the end of it.
- 1:34:51Speaker 18: And nothing is like that anymore now.
- 1:34:54Speaker 21: Social media they're constantly being you know, inundated with these
- 1:34:57Speaker 21: threats and the violence, and so then you escalate.
- 1:34:59Speaker 7: Yeah, then the beef becomes you meeting in a park
- 1:35:02Speaker 7: and someone has a weapon and the next thing you know,
- 1:35:03Speaker 7: a sixteen year old has been shot dead.
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: Look, it's not even that. Look over the last week.
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: Go look at the stories out of Orlando where somebody
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: got into a fight, left the fight, went to their vehicle,
- 1:35:13Speaker 4: grabbed their gun, went back to the fight, and shot
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: the person dead. It just happened right from a savoy, Yeah,
- 1:35:18Speaker 4: on Orange Avenue. It just happened somewhere else in Orlando
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: just this week, same exact thing. Get into a fight,
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: get an altercation, don't and that's the way. And you
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: walk back to the car and you get your car.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: Then you walk back into the situation arve, we wind
- 1:35:29Speaker 4: up shooting out for a guy murder.
- 1:35:31Speaker 7: The guy who just shot at Alicia County deputy yesterday
- 1:35:34Speaker 7: afternoon twice, once in the leg and once in the
- 1:35:36Speaker 7: shoulder because it ricocheted off his body camera apparently had
- 1:35:39Speaker 7: searched with an AI chat bot stand your ground loss.
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: Yeah, and this is a guy with known mental illness.
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: Issues, So.
- 1:35:46Speaker 7: Who'd faced charges before, and those charges were dropped and
- 1:35:49Speaker 7: now he's back out on the street.
- 1:35:51Speaker 18: And you know, I'm not.
- 1:35:54Speaker 21: I do think standard ground has has a really good
- 1:35:57Speaker 21: application for a lot of things, but not every People
- 1:36:00Speaker 21: need to understand that if you can remove yourself from
- 1:36:05Speaker 21: the situation, regardless of whether or not you have to,
- 1:36:08Speaker 21: that's the best way to resolve it ninety nine percent
- 1:36:10Speaker 21: at the time. Yeah, you know, escalating to where somebody's
- 1:36:14Speaker 21: life is being taken, or somebody's life may be taken,
- 1:36:17Speaker 21: isn't the win win that you're thinking it is. And
- 1:36:20Speaker 21: when we just saw that trial on that one where
- 1:36:22Speaker 21: the guy was bragging about it, you know about the
- 1:36:25Speaker 21: self defense case. That could have been a self defense
- 1:36:28Speaker 21: case if he didn't chase down the guy right and
- 1:36:30Speaker 21: then brag about how much fun.
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: It was to kill him, right.
- 1:36:34Speaker 21: And you've got to understand that when you are defending yourself,
- 1:36:38Speaker 21: it is I have.
- 1:36:39Speaker 18: Nowhere to go.
- 1:36:40Speaker 21: I've got nowhere what I can do other than to
- 1:36:42Speaker 21: protect myself. At this very moment, when you're chasing people down,
- 1:36:45Speaker 21: you're following them, you're going to your car, and you're
- 1:36:47Speaker 21: re engaging. You've now escalated to where you're the aggressor
- 1:36:51Speaker 21: self defense doesn't apply. Stand your ground doesn't apply. And
- 1:36:54Speaker 21: we've seen these state prosecutors and the government charging them appropriately.
- 1:36:59Speaker 4: I think guy says here, my daughter, my cousin's daughter
- 1:37:02Speaker 4: was killed by a twelve year old who had access
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: to his parents' rifle. It was a snow day in Pennsylvania.
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: Kids were home from school. The boy was mad because
- 1:37:08Speaker 4: my cousin's daughter was writing on a snowmobile and he wasn't,
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: so he shot her from his home window. Wow, and look, man,
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: I gotta tell you know, I you know, my dad
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: had been sorry that by the way, Yeah, my terrible.
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: My dad had guns in the house, and I remember
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: specifically as a kid in the fifth grade, going into
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: my dad's side table and pulling his gun out and
- 1:37:28Speaker 4: playing not playing with it per se, but you know,
- 1:37:30Speaker 4: looking at it and you know, just you know, and
- 1:37:33Speaker 4: feeling that that in your hand, Like I did that
- 1:37:35Speaker 4: all the time, and they never to this day, he
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: never knew it. I would if I told him right now,
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: he'd be surprised. He never knew it. But I did
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: it all the time, shot guns in the closet. I'd
- 1:37:42Speaker 4: go and look at because I knew I was getting
- 1:37:44Speaker 4: him at some point because he'd already told me, so
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: I'd go and you know, I'd go and look at
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: him and stuff. I did that all the time. You
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: brought up that Savoy shooting.
- 1:37:51Speaker 9: I know that Markomer, the attorney for the defense, they're
- 1:37:55Speaker 9: claiming stand your ground because he went back to his car,
- 1:38:00Speaker 9: but then the person followed him and opened his door
- 1:38:02Speaker 9: and that's when he he got it.
- 1:38:04Speaker 6: Kind of like that road rate shooting we had a
- 1:38:06Speaker 6: couple of months ago, right.
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: Yeah, means a lot of that.
- 1:38:09Speaker 9: I mean, you don't know if opening up a door though,
- 1:38:11Speaker 9: is right so fear so I think that's where that
- 1:38:14Speaker 9: whole case is going to hinge right on that.
- 1:38:17Speaker 21: And even if you don't stand your ground, you still
- 1:38:19Speaker 21: have a self defense argument at trial. It's just, you know,
- 1:38:22Speaker 21: stay your ground. As you're immune from civil and criminal prosecution,
- 1:38:25Speaker 21: you still have self defense as a defense to the
- 1:38:28Speaker 21: criminal charges.
- 1:38:29Speaker 4: And when you enter a gun into any like confrontation,
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: like let's say you're out, you're in a parking lot
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: and you're backing out at the same time somebody else
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: backs out and you get hit and you get super
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: pissed and you start a fighting or you're not to
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: start a fight, but you get into a verbal confrontation.
- 1:38:44Speaker 4: The minute a gun comes out, it escalates everything to
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: the next level. Now, now there is a fear of life,
- 1:38:51Speaker 4: and anyone near that that's also armed is going to
- 1:38:55Speaker 4: arm themselves. And you know, it just kind of it
- 1:38:57Speaker 4: never and you and we get sold at some times.
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: All you plus your gun is gonna de escalate the situation.
- 1:39:02Speaker 4: It's not. It's gonna tell the other person that now
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: your life is in danger and they have to do
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: something very drastic. You can't just flex like that. It
- 1:39:10Speaker 4: doesn't work like that. And now jail time's a lot
- 1:39:12Speaker 4: more likely for someone. Yeah, yeah, that's right.
- 1:39:14Speaker 21: Well, and I think too, you know, to that point though,
- 1:39:17Speaker 21: you know, I'm always mindful and aware of when I'm
- 1:39:21Speaker 21: carrying a firearm that I'm much more quiet, I'm much
- 1:39:24Speaker 21: more de escalating anything because it's not worth it, right,
- 1:39:29Speaker 21: you know, you want to roll the dice that you're
- 1:39:31Speaker 21: not going to go to prison.
- 1:39:32Speaker 4: It's not worth it.
- 1:39:33Speaker 21: It's not just you know, you get rear ended, all right,
- 1:39:36Speaker 21: put your gun in your glove box, say hey man,
- 1:39:38Speaker 21: that's a bummer. Like let's exchange insurans information and call
- 1:39:41Speaker 21: it a day. That bumper is not worth your life
- 1:39:44Speaker 21: or your freedom or your family.
- 1:39:46Speaker 18: Like it's just not worth it.
- 1:39:47Speaker 4: Yeah, crazy stuff, man. I gotta tell you, this case
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: is so wild, you got it. I guess the sentences
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: is coming soon and he could get up to thirty years.
- 1:39:56Speaker 21: I think thirty years is the minimum because he's got
- 1:39:59Speaker 21: the I think the four charges that are I.
- 1:40:02Speaker 4: Think there's twenty seven total charges.
- 1:40:04Speaker 21: That are but I think there's four that are up
- 1:40:07Speaker 21: to thirty years each sentence, and then I think he's
- 1:40:10Speaker 21: got twenty seven that are a year each.
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: So this guy could do life. I mean, he can
- 1:40:14Speaker 4: spend his life in prison. Unbelievable. One firm for Life
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: dot Com. That's TK Law, Like I said, offices right
- 1:40:20Speaker 4: there in Altamont Springs, also in DeLanda. Now, how's the
- 1:40:22Speaker 4: DeLand office going?
- 1:40:24Speaker 21: The Delay office is going well. We are currently planning
- 1:40:26Speaker 21: our grand opening celebration. We're gonna have a little party there.
- 1:40:31Speaker 21: I don't know when it's gonna be working out some
- 1:40:33Speaker 21: logistics and all that stuff.
- 1:40:35Speaker 18: But yeah, it's it's a good thing.
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: And I tell you, I go ahead, buddy, which is
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: your favorite? Oh god, what an ass this guy's the worst.
- 1:40:43Speaker 18: You know what I'll say. I like I say my kids.
- 1:40:45Speaker 18: I have no favorites, but my favorite notes.
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: He can do it all, guys. He's helped me and
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: my family. He's help Jackie's helped Every family in this
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: on this show has been touched or helped by Ray,

- 1:41:01Speaker 4: a good listen. He'll give you honest answers. If you
- 1:41:04Speaker 4: can't do anything for you, you can't do anything for you.
- 1:41:06Speaker 4: If he can help you, he'll lay that out for you,
- 1:41:08Speaker 4: so you know exactly what's gonna happen in your case.
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: That's really cool to know. No open ends like that, No,
- 1:41:13Speaker 4: maybe's no, no, none of that stuff. That's what I
- 1:41:16Speaker 4: like about you, buddy. I appreciate It's pretty straight up
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: so you know exactly what you're getting. Again, that's TK
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: Law one firm for life dot Com got an office

- 1:41:26Speaker 18: I appreciate you.
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: I was good seeing you, but a good laughs all right,
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: a little celebrity network knock out his next Ajam Culbert show.
- 1:41:38Speaker 10: Yeah, it's funny you mentioned the private ownership of Dinosaur
- 1:41:41Speaker 10: Bones I just stumbled across my YouTube suggestions was a
- 1:41:46Speaker 10: special about that, And it's kind of interesting that the
- 1:41:49Speaker 10: United States is one of the few, if not the only,
- 1:41:51Speaker 10: I can't remember exactly, but it's one of the few
- 1:41:54Speaker 10: countries that actually allow private ownership of dinosaur bones.
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: There's a bunch of.
- 1:41:59Speaker 10: Bones and china and stuff like that, but those are
- 1:42:03Speaker 10: property of the government.
- 1:42:05Speaker 12: You cannot own them.
- 1:42:07Speaker 4: Interesting. Yeah, I do find it a little odd. It
- 1:42:11Speaker 4: just seems like that should be like a protected national
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: resource or something. I don't know why. It just feels
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: weird as that Stan who owns a cool business, Ye
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: canna have a t Rex in his den? Stan who
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: hit it big on crypto, Yeah, exactly, you gonna have
- 1:42:27Speaker 4: a t rex in his aquarium room. You would think
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: it would have, you know, academia first. Yeah, you know.

- 1:44:07Speaker 4: of network knockout. Here for people from the world of entertainment, sports, business,

- 1:44:16Speaker 4: it rich, Jimmy, your job. They're good friends with Pelosi.

- 1:44:27Speaker 4: Bill Belichick, Number two, Kevin James, number three fifty cent
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: or lastly, Patrick Mahomes. Which one to lose? Is the richest.
- 1:44:42Speaker 15: Bill Belichick?
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: Bill Belichick is not the richest out of those four. No,
- 1:44:48Speaker 4: he is not the richest out of those four, not
- 1:44:51Speaker 4: at all. I'll give you all these breakdowns here in
- 1:44:53Speaker 4: one second. All right, But that way, don't give away
- 1:44:55Speaker 4: any too many hints. All right, one, two, four or five.
- 1:44:58Speaker 4: We're gonna go four. Let's go with Rob. Rob. How
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: you doing good?
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: How are you guys doing doing good?
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: Buddy? Tell me on this list, who is the richest
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: of these remaining people? Kevin James fifty cent or Patrick
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: Mahomes fifty cent is not the richest person. Honestly, no,
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: he's not I thought he had issues. Yeah, he does
- 1:45:23Speaker 4: have money issues, and that's why he didn't make it.
- 1:45:24Speaker 4: But I know a lot of people don't know that
- 1:45:26Speaker 4: because they only heard that the Life Water deal and
- 1:45:28Speaker 4: they heard that giant number. But some other stuff happened
- 1:45:31Speaker 4: and knocked his network down. All right, one, two or
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: five up? Let's go one. Let's go one right up
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: top of ivanhoe, Dave, Dave, how you doing, buddy?
- 1:45:39Speaker 5: Doing great?
- 1:45:39Speaker 15: Guys, Great to see you two fridays ago. Out your
- 1:45:41Speaker 15: your remote.
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: All yeah, same to you, Dave, always your teen you buddy.
- 1:45:44Speaker 4: All right, budd you got a fifty to fifty shot here.
- 1:45:46Speaker 4: Who is the richest? Is it Kevin James or Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:45:50Speaker 5: Man, I'm going with mister James.
- 1:45:51Speaker 4: Kenny James is the winner.
- 1:45:53Speaker 5: Wow wow.
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: And then James is the wealthiest out of there. I'll
- 1:45:57Speaker 4: keep you on while i'll do this. Bill Belichick seventy
- 1:45:59Speaker 4: milillion dollars, fifty only forty million dollars only. And lastly,
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes at ninety million. Kevin James comes in at
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: one hundred million dollars. There you go, you're a winner.
- 1:46:12Speaker 15: Name.
- 1:46:12Speaker 4: I'm gonna put you on hold. And of course the
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: new edition of this here's some fun facts about Kevin James.
- 1:46:16Speaker 4: Paul Blart movie. He got that Paul Blart money. Yeah,
- 1:46:18Speaker 4: he gues. I think he's got a lot of money,
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: because didn't He also host prices right into a bunch
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: of other stuff as well. No, I know, Jerry, I
- 1:46:27Speaker 4: was gonna mixed up.
- 1:46:29Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:46:32Speaker 4: His real name is nuts. Like, you know why this
- 1:46:35Speaker 4: guy changed his name to Kevin James Nuts. It's because
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: nobody wants to be Kevin George Niphing Nipping K n
- 1:46:43Speaker 4: ip f I n G. That's his actual last name,
- 1:46:47Speaker 4: Niphing Nipping. He was a top rated high school wrestler.
- 1:46:53Speaker 4: I could see that Kevin James. Matter of fact, he
- 1:46:55Speaker 4: was one spot ahead of his classmate Mick Foley, No
- 1:47:00Speaker 4: WWE superstar Mick Foley was his wrestling team room mate,
- 1:47:05Speaker 4: and he was first on the team. Mick Foley was
- 1:47:07Speaker 4: second on the team.
- 1:47:08Speaker 6: That's that's breaking rights right there.
- 1:47:10Speaker 4: He's such a New York Giant Mets fan. He named
- 1:47:13Speaker 4: his second daughter, Shay after the stadium. Yeah. And then
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: lastly here he's an avid golfer and he's actually set
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: to play John Daily in an upcoming biopic there Kevin
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: James worth one hundred million dollars and he is the
- 1:47:26Speaker 4: richest of the Celebrity network Noncout. He's got a new
- 1:47:29Speaker 4: movie out, who James More. Oh, it's that one that
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: they filmed during the Super Bowl right where he was
- 1:47:35Speaker 4: sitting in the stands in a tucks holding flowers, and
- 1:47:38Speaker 4: that went kind of viral and people were wondering why
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: he was doing it, and I thought it was like,
- 1:47:42Speaker 4: it's a shot for a movie he has coming up,
- 1:47:44Speaker 4: is it not? Oh, maybe it is. I did not
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: know that. Yeah, that was the picture right, like he
- 1:47:49Speaker 4: was sitting in the super Bowl in the stands, like
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: in a suit or something, holding flowers, and people were like,
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: you're wondering what happened to Kevin James or something? Never
- 1:47:57Speaker 4: saw it? Yeah, And then I think he's filming a
- 1:47:59Speaker 4: movie and that was part of the scene in the
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: movie and they just took advantage of the of the
- 1:48:05Speaker 4: spot and be able to shoot that little shot from afar.
- 1:48:07Speaker 4: I think that's it solo MEO is the Yeah, well
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: check it out. Maybe he didn't. I don't know. I
- 1:48:17Speaker 4: thought I read that for sure, though, that that whole
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: thing of him sitting in the super Bowl or some
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: sporting event wearing a suit and flowers by himself, by
- 1:48:25Speaker 4: the way, led to a lot of people freaking out,
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: but apparently it was for that movie.
- 1:48:28Speaker 9: Hey, no one's challenging on a hot chat and I'm
- 1:48:30Speaker 9: gonna find out during the break so I can prove
- 1:48:31Speaker 9: you wrong.
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: You're looking at You're looking at me with questionable eyes, saying,
- 1:48:35Speaker 4: we don't know, you're looking at me with questionable eyes.
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: I do not care for it. We know you're not
- 1:48:40Speaker 4: a reliable sw I don't care for it. You gotta
- 1:48:45Speaker 4: see that thing on Trump's neck. I did not. Oh yeah,
- 1:48:49Speaker 4: I saw an article. I'm like that. It's quick, pait
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: I'm out of here alright. N four one. Uh so
- 1:48:57Speaker 4: we have a question of the day and I'll pay
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: off what that's about next?
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: Who sh.
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: What up? JCS crew?
- 1:49:09Speaker 10: Not sure where t Bag's head is at today, but Jim,
- 1:49:12Speaker 10: in addition to your cold cut story, it does happen
- 1:49:15Speaker 10: to be National cold Cuts Day today, and.
- 1:49:17Speaker 4: Who doesn't love cold cuts? Forty four ladies, that's me
- 1:49:20Speaker 4: go and get some cold cuts to date.
- 1:49:22Speaker 9: Also, what addition, it is the National Anthem Day, our
- 1:49:26Speaker 9: nation's anthem Hoover signed a law nineteen thirty one making
- 1:49:29Speaker 9: the Star Spangled banner our official national aera in the US.
- 1:49:32Speaker 4: Did not know that on American tea bag falls out?
- 1:49:35Speaker 4: Who falls out? Love it?
- 1:49:37Speaker 9: Well?
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: Forget about that thing on Trump's neck.
- 1:49:40Speaker 22: I still have been waiting like twenty five years to
- 1:49:44Speaker 22: find out what the hell that thing is on Aaron
- 1:49:48Speaker 22: Neville's face?
- 1:49:51Speaker 4: All right, four o seven nine one six four one
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: takes seven seven zero thirty one. On Jim there's zip
- 1:49:56Speaker 4: hell hell Jack saison even like coming in hot take
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: that and that's kind of thing for a minute, right,
- 1:50:02Speaker 4: like at a dog Paul. Our question of the day
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: is simple. It's do you have or are you on Instagram?
- 1:50:11Speaker 4: It's very simple. Yeah, you can go over to real
- 1:50:15Speaker 4: Radio dot fm slash watch. That is our YouTube page
- 1:50:18Speaker 4: in the chat room. That's where it is. I am
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: surprised at the results so far. That's cool. I bring
- 1:50:24Speaker 4: this up for a reason. By the way, Meta who
- 1:50:28Speaker 4: owns Instagram is soon. Did you guys see the change
- 1:50:31Speaker 4: in what they're doing? No, what do you got? I
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: actually it's it's actually kind of interesting, and I wonder
- 1:50:36Speaker 4: how you feel about it. I think both of my
- 1:50:39Speaker 4: kids are pretty active on Instagram. They're also active on
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: TikTok as well. Do you know about yours? Jack? Are
- 1:50:43Speaker 4: they are the girls on Instagram? Or is it a
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: TikTok scenario or one is TikTok the other one's Instagram. Okay,
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: bless you by the way. And the reason I'm bringing
- 1:50:53Speaker 4: this up is, you know, these platforms are going through
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: a lot of a lot of trouble right now because
- 1:50:57Speaker 4: of how they are or are not protecting kids kids.
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: As a matter of fact, Mark Zuckerberg was just on
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: our just at there in Washington recently, Yeah, testifying testifying
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: about you know what he thought that those platforms were
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: doing to make them make them safer. So Meta own
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: Instagram will now soon alert parents if their teenage child
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: uses the app to search for content related to suicide
- 1:51:21Speaker 4: or self harm. Ah, yes, I did see that. Yeah,
- 1:51:24Speaker 4: so if you have a team, I guess this is
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: only for teenagers obviously, because I mean their parents would
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: have control over the app on their phone. Let's say
- 1:51:30Speaker 4: you're eighteen. Yeah, exactly, it says the companies, the technology
- 1:51:34Speaker 4: company's latest effort to shore up safety features as it
- 1:51:37Speaker 4: faces heat over how social media impacts young people starting
- 1:51:42Speaker 4: next week, People or parents who use Instagram supervision tools
- 1:51:46Speaker 4: will get a message either via email or text or
- 1:51:49Speaker 4: WhatsApp that if a team repeatedly searches for certain terms
- 1:51:54Speaker 4: related to self harm or suicide within a short time span,
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: they will alert that parent. Is great news. I think
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: so as well, because here's the thing. You don't really
- 1:52:03Speaker 4: search for stuff like that for fun, do you, now,
- 1:52:06Speaker 4: Like I mean, if I had an Instagram I was
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: searching it, you could say, well, I'm, you know, I'm
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: just doing research for the program. Of course, I'm you know,
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: way older than that. But if I have a fourteen
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: year old daughter or son for that matter, and they're
- 1:52:18Speaker 4: on Instagram and they're searching for stuff like that, I
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: want to know because how many parents have we heard,
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: you know, after their child does something like this that said,
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: you know, I had no clue. There's no indications, there's
- 1:52:31Speaker 4: no you know, journal entries that say anything like this.
- 1:52:34Speaker 4: There's no art hanging on their wall that supports this
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: mentality or anything. But you don't, you know, you're not
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: a lot of times you simply don't know what's going
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: on with their school life. You don't know when they've
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: been bullied or are pressured to do something they don't want.
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: Sometimes you don't know who their friends are unless you
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: are going through their phone.
- 1:52:53Speaker 9: Literally, yeah, looking through their phone. You don't know what
- 1:52:56Speaker 9: their online life is and yeah.
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: That's a totally different life. You're right.
- 1:53:00Speaker 7: And the other part of that, too is that you
- 1:53:01Speaker 7: also have you know, the other big part of this
- 1:53:04Speaker 7: is you have you know, child sex predators contacting your
- 1:53:07Speaker 7: kids through their gaming consoles, where they could be having conversations,
- 1:53:10Speaker 7: being pressured into sending you know, compromising pictures, and then
- 1:53:15Speaker 7: they start getting threats and all of this is going
- 1:53:17Speaker 7: on and you have no idea, and maybe you are
- 1:53:19Speaker 7: checking their phone and their phone looks like it's clean,
- 1:53:22Speaker 7: but you're not checking the gaming console.
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: Right, Yeah. Yeah. Do you think there's a possibility that
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: just the knowledge of this, kids will just change their
- 1:53:29Speaker 4: patterns because now they know? I mean, especially if they
- 1:53:32Speaker 4: I would say that if I was a parent and
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: I was going to institute that on my kid's phone,
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: I wouldn't want my kids knowing it. I mean, I
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: know that your kids could probably get into the phone
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: and figure out it's been turned on, But I think,
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: you know, there has to be a code or a
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: protected type of way that you can that the kids
- 1:53:47Speaker 4: just can't change it back. Those are code protected, are
- 1:53:50Speaker 4: they not? Yeah, you can always. You'll be able to
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: work around it, especially kids, they're more savvy about it.
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: They'll be able to work around it. You see other
- 1:54:00Speaker 4: apps just using web browsers, they just won't search for
- 1:54:04Speaker 4: it in that application of Instagram. But it's still a
- 1:54:08Speaker 4: good thing. It says here that the vast majority of
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: teens do not try to search for suicide and help
- 1:54:12Speaker 4: self harm content on Instagram, and when they do, the
- 1:54:15Speaker 4: policy is to block those searches instead of directing them
- 1:54:18Speaker 4: to resources. But they could be looking for groups that
- 1:54:20Speaker 4: support that. You could be looking for people who lead
- 1:54:23Speaker 4: to private chat rooms or something that support that type
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: of mentality. And it doesn't say, by the way, Meta
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: says right here, it doesn't say how many searches will
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: prompt a parental alert, noting only that we choose a
- 1:54:34Speaker 4: threshold that requires a few searches within a short period
- 1:54:37Speaker 4: of time. I'm thinking if if somebody's frantically searching that
- 1:54:41Speaker 4: within a fifteen minute period, that somebody should know. Yeah,
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: it says the Safe Garble Initiative roll out in the US,
- 1:54:50Speaker 4: United Kingdom, Australia and Canada, before being deployed in other
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: regions later this year. According to Meadow, it's so says
- 1:55:00Speaker 4: that they keep eighteen people under eighteen from searching results
- 1:55:03Speaker 4: for alcohol or gore. It's a little bit at least
- 1:55:07Speaker 4: I feel it's in the right direction. But I mean
- 1:55:10Speaker 4: this is twenty years Yeah, band aid on a dam.
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: So there you go. Well here's the problem, right, we're trying. Yeah,
- 1:55:19Speaker 4: you're one hundred percent right, that's exactly what it is. Hey, look,
- 1:55:21Speaker 4: we're trying. I'm complying, sir. Please don't regulate me. Please
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: don't start looking too hard at.
- 1:55:27Speaker 7: Me, because these tools always come around when there's someone
- 1:55:30Speaker 7: from the top that's having to testify about what they
- 1:55:33Speaker 7: are are not doing.
- 1:55:34Speaker 4: But absor you're looking for a group of people to
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: support you in that, if you're gonna get the information
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: on how to do that, you're going right into the internet.
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: You're not using a social media app to do that.
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: You're looking our social media app to find people who
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: are like minded, are you not?
- 1:55:47Speaker 9: I disagreed to a degree the search engine And my
- 1:55:51Speaker 9: daughter has told me this. On TikTok is she finds
- 1:55:55Speaker 9: vastly superior than just googling stuff. What Yeah, if you
- 1:55:59Speaker 9: could look things up and you'll find other Yeah, I do.
- 1:56:02Speaker 6: That on Instagram.
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: Yeah. See there you go.
- 1:56:06Speaker 6: Yep, all the time.
- 1:56:08Speaker 4: You use their search for just general information, not.
- 1:56:12Speaker 7: General information, but if there's a product that I saw,
- 1:56:14Speaker 7: or if there's a trend that I saw, it'll.
- 1:56:17Speaker 4: Direct you to their website or their Instagram, Instagram or
- 1:56:21Speaker 4: other creators using whether it's hashtag on that or well.
- 1:56:26Speaker 4: I've never waited to it. I've never used it for that.
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: I've only used the search ish the search tool to
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: find other other you know, content providers. Yeah, I've never
- 1:56:35Speaker 4: searched it for like a thing. I used the Internet
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: for that.
- 1:56:38Speaker 7: The Tourette's uber driver woman awesome follow up. Oh really
- 1:56:43Speaker 7: Yeah she has Tourett's and she picked up a passenger
- 1:56:45Speaker 7: with NARCOLEPSI.
- 1:56:46Speaker 4: I saw that. That is such a cool video.
- 1:56:49Speaker 6: And now they're the best of friends.
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: Yeah, they rejoiced.
- 1:56:51Speaker 7: Yes, they lived six and a half hours away. One
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: has taught the other one to tan leather and she
- 1:56:57Speaker 7: passes out on film. The other one tries to catch them.
- 1:56:59Speaker 4: It's happy. Yeah, but I do like this. I mean,
- 1:57:02Speaker 4: here's the thing.
- 1:57:02Speaker 6: I mean, I've ordered so many products off Instagram.
- 1:57:05Speaker 4: What do you really Oh, my wife used to order
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: some of TikTok. I don't think she does that much anymore.
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: She did find a couple of things. I have to
- 1:57:11Speaker 4: tell you, she found one of the best products I've
- 1:57:12Speaker 4: ever seen on TikTok. We have this dog shaver thing
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: that connects to a small vacuum cleaner, right, and the
- 1:57:20Speaker 4: cutter is has this floaby. Yeah, like a flowby is
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: exactly what it is. I didn't know how many people
- 1:57:25Speaker 4: that's such a dated reference. I don't know how many
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: people would know what a floby is. It was avoiding that,
- 1:57:29Speaker 4: but yeah, it's a floaty. So basically, put a trimmer
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: at the end of your vacuum hose and so that
- 1:57:34Speaker 4: when you're cutting your dog, it sucks the hair up
- 1:57:36Speaker 4: right there. I'm telling you straight up, this may be
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: the best product we've purchased in two years. Forty bucks
- 1:57:43Speaker 4: forty dollars on TikTok, and it is a monster machine.
- 1:57:47Speaker 4: It's so good. Not a hair anywhere in the house
- 1:57:51Speaker 4: because we're cutting in on that thing.
- 1:57:52Speaker 15: Now.
- 1:57:52Speaker 4: The dog hates it because it makes a It makes
- 1:57:55Speaker 4: not only the buzzer noise, which dog hates. It makes
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: a vacuum noise. That's hell. Which healthier little dog we get?
- 1:58:02Speaker 4: Are so high, it's so crazy. You give her so
- 1:58:04Speaker 4: many ben and drills. She's like her eyes are rolling
- 1:58:06Speaker 4: back in her head. You no, no, we don't do that.
- 1:58:09Speaker 9: But I've had some good purchases. A T shirt I
- 1:58:12Speaker 9: almost wore today. I saw an Instagram. Deb's Christmas gift
- 1:58:15Speaker 9: came from last year, was Instagram.
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: I saw that. I am that's that's yeah. My wife
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: says that that TikTok thing. Man, you get on there,
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: start looking around and TikTok will give you some namn
- 1:58:24Speaker 4: products then, and I guess she says, like.
- 1:58:26Speaker 6: It's a you know, TikTok is like I don't trust TikTok.
- 1:58:29Speaker 4: You don't trust it. Yeah, but it's an American company
- 1:58:32Speaker 4: that Actually I told my wife about that. I was like,
- 1:58:36Speaker 4: did you read that deal they had to make to
- 1:58:39Speaker 4: keep TikTok in America? Go look at what you're giving up.
- 1:58:41Speaker 4: It is absolutely insane what you give them access to.
- 1:58:47Speaker 4: To have TikTok on your phone in this country, it
- 1:58:50Speaker 4: is crazy. Everything. My wife says, they have everything anyway.
- 1:58:53Speaker 4: It don't matter even a little bit. And I have
- 1:58:55Speaker 4: to tell you, I'm starting to kind of agree with
- 1:58:58Speaker 4: with that one hundred percent. I don't know that you
- 1:58:59Speaker 4: can hide anymore. Yeah, I don't know that not even
- 1:59:02Speaker 4: having it really protects you anymore.
- 1:59:05Speaker 9: I learned that the government and this actually went came
- 1:59:09Speaker 9: down with the Anthropic.
- 1:59:11Speaker 4: Deal with Department of Defense.
- 1:59:12Speaker 9: Yeah, which is why I actually now I canceled my
- 1:59:16Speaker 9: chat GPT thing and now I'm using Anthropic because they
- 1:59:20Speaker 9: said no. The Pentagon they said, for their reasons, they
- 1:59:23Speaker 9: didn't want fully autonomous weaponry on weapons and they want
- 1:59:27Speaker 9: an agreement they wouldn't use it to spy on Americans,
- 1:59:30Speaker 9: And the Pentagon had a problem with that.
- 1:59:31Speaker 4: And canceled all the contracts dealing with them, did they not?
- 1:59:34Speaker 4: And then jump went to chat GPT, who said we'll
- 1:59:36Speaker 4: do it.
- 1:59:36Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:59:37Speaker 4: So I'm like, well, I'm out of chat GPT and
- 1:59:39Speaker 4: now I'm using Anthropic for you. Yeah.
- 1:59:41Speaker 8: But the.
- 1:59:43Speaker 4: I forgot what I was. I got sidetracked when I
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: remember that whole deal going down just TikTok purchases what
- 1:59:49Speaker 4: we were talking about. I think it's like the team
- 1:59:52Speaker 4: of social media, is it not?
- 1:59:54Speaker 6: Yeah, but it's really Shine or Shan Chowing?
- 2:00:01Speaker 15: Is it?
- 2:00:01Speaker 8: Is it not? Shean?
- 2:00:02Speaker 4: I thought it was Shine.
- 2:00:03Speaker 6: I thought it was San Is it?
- 2:00:05Speaker 4: I thought it was Shin. I don't know, none of
- 2:00:07Speaker 4: us know. I don't know. It's it's the place where
- 2:00:10Speaker 4: I go get the stuff. I can chew them with
- 2:00:11Speaker 4: lead pain.
- 2:00:13Speaker 9: But it's all independent companies, right, so it could be
- 2:00:16Speaker 9: a company in China, but it could be China someone
- 2:00:20Speaker 9: someone else.
- 2:00:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know about I know this duf vcuum
- 2:00:27Speaker 4: clear is greatest thing I've ever wrong. All right?
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: Four?
- 2:00:31Speaker 4: One bretch of brown up next for it's only money.
- 2:00:47Speaker 4: Evil I You.
- 2:00:48Speaker 8: Usually kill me with your talk back, but today you
- 2:00:51Speaker 8: killed me in a good way.
- 2:00:52Speaker 4: Buddy, You are not wrong.
- 2:00:55Speaker 23: All those years man growing up watching the Today Show
- 2:00:58Speaker 23: and they would break to air nevilling.
- 2:01:03Speaker 4: Oh God, what about your face?
- 2:01:06Speaker 7: Dude?
- 2:01:06Speaker 4: What is that is mad about? What is that?
- 2:01:12Speaker 15: Hey, little buddy, I'm a couple of days behind. I
- 2:01:14Speaker 15: listened to the podcast, so I'm sorry for this. The
- 2:01:17Speaker 15: other day you were talking about midgets and dwarfs. Then
- 2:01:21Speaker 15: Jack says something about pick the porn. That's what you
- 2:01:24Speaker 15: should do to pick the porn contest on by the way,
- 2:01:29Speaker 15: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a real thing.
- 2:01:34Speaker 15: You should see how happy wakes up snow white.
- 2:01:39Speaker 6: I would suggest another hobby, just a thought.
- 2:01:44Speaker 4: Hold on, now, I want to know. Now, I want
- 2:01:48Speaker 4: to know how happy wakes up snow white.
- 2:01:52Speaker 7: By the way, I like Pinocchio, Tell a lie, tell
- 2:01:54Speaker 7: the truth, tell a lie, tell the juuth, tell a lie,
- 2:01:57Speaker 7: tell the jruth by the truth, lie lie.
- 2:01:59Speaker 4: That's another one of the grim stories that when you
- 2:02:01Speaker 4: read the actual ending of that, it is just completely,
- 2:02:06Speaker 4: I mean miles away from what Disney did that story.
- 2:02:10Speaker 6: Yeah, I should have done that, because now our next
- 2:02:11Speaker 6: guest can't look at me in the eye.
- 2:02:13Speaker 4: All right for seven and I went sick to one
- 2:02:17Speaker 4: seven seven zero three one, I'm in there's dead. Hello,
- 2:02:19Speaker 4: Jack is here as well. Let's do It's only money.
- 2:02:22Speaker 5: Oh, people passionate about planning for the future, rise above
- 2:02:28Speaker 5: investment myths to build. Isn't that really just common sense
- 2:02:33Speaker 5: financial advice?
- 2:02:34Speaker 4: It's oh, okay, here, it's all the money.
- 2:02:40Speaker 5: Wiscott Brown from and our family world scared.
- 2:02:44Speaker 4: You got a substitute, give it up.
- 2:02:47Speaker 9: Look at me there you go, look at me, Brasher right,
- 2:02:52Speaker 9: one more appearance and we get a new intro.
- 2:02:55Speaker 4: Somebody decent real quickly back, because you've been listening today.
- 2:02:57Speaker 4: You have a dinosaur bone thing. Uh, he says, do
- 2:03:00Speaker 4: you think military weapons should use AI technology? Well, I'll
- 2:03:03Speaker 4: say we do this all the time, right, No militaries
- 2:03:05Speaker 4: are supposed to use chemical weapons, right. I mean that's
- 2:03:08Speaker 4: that's a legitimate weapon that could easily sway the way
- 2:03:12Speaker 4: that any war is fought, and we collectively as a
- 2:03:14Speaker 4: species say that's too far. So I believe that when
- 2:03:18Speaker 4: you look at AI military and AI directing drones. By
- 2:03:21Speaker 4: the way, that's what killed our servicemen over there, god
- 2:03:23Speaker 4: risk their souls, was a drone strike. So I would
- 2:03:26Speaker 4: say that I would approach the AI military drone the
- 2:03:29Speaker 4: same way I would approach military use of chemical weapons
- 2:03:32Speaker 4: against That's how I will look at it. And that's
- 2:03:35Speaker 4: why Anthropic wanted to say, we want to make sure
- 2:03:37Speaker 4: there's a human involved. It wouldn't be fully autonomous.
- 2:03:40Speaker 9: We want to make sure at least at some point,
- 2:03:42Speaker 9: if you have a lethal you know, a method of
- 2:03:46Speaker 9: you know, destruction, there is a human involved in the process.
- 2:03:49Speaker 4: What better lead into a financial responsibility?
- 2:03:53Speaker 9: I want to listen, those weapons aren't cheap. Yeah, you
- 2:03:57Speaker 9: need to invest properly.
- 2:03:58Speaker 12: And it owned company account. They are because I had
- 2:04:03Speaker 12: somebody call and say, hey, do you think this is
- 2:04:04Speaker 12: an opportunity?
- 2:04:06Speaker 4: Well, I mean one of the first things that happened
- 2:04:07Speaker 4: when this strike happened is the next day on the
- 2:04:09Speaker 4: ticker it just said, hey, you know, the the market
- 2:04:12Speaker 4: went down a whole bunch, like this is what you
- 2:04:14Speaker 4: should be buying. Yeah, and it was you know again,
- 2:04:16Speaker 4: it's it's the same tech exactly you thought it would be.
- 2:04:19Speaker 12: Yep, yep. Usually is yeah, yeah, how you doing ratch,
- 2:04:22Speaker 12: I'm fantastic, See you buddy.
- 2:04:23Speaker 4: Likewise, all right, Bradshaw is here with Edgeworder Family Wealth
- 2:04:27Speaker 4: Edgeorder Familywealth dot Com. We do have a couple events
- 2:04:29Speaker 4: coming up we'll tell you about in just a few minutes.
- 2:04:30Speaker 4: These guys are fiduciary. He's been in town for thirty
- 2:04:32Speaker 4: eight plus years making sure that you and your portfolio
- 2:04:36Speaker 4: do exactly what you wanted to do in your retirement
- 2:04:38Speaker 4: and get you online to start saving money properly and
- 2:04:41Speaker 4: making good financial decisions. Would you agree with that saying
- 2:04:44Speaker 4: the same idea? That is the idea And usually these
- 2:04:48Speaker 4: guys come in with a couple of things to talk
- 2:04:49Speaker 4: about brashy sir, sending something over and let's people, let's
- 2:04:52Speaker 4: talk about le's get right into it. Yeah, this is
- 2:04:54Speaker 4: the people who don't make it. Yes, people who cannot
- 2:04:57Speaker 4: commit to a plan or take the time to be
- 2:04:59Speaker 4: or are likely the ones who go up in flames. Yeah,
- 2:05:04Speaker 4: so explain it, I explain.
- 2:05:06Speaker 12: So I've talked to some people recently, and for whatever reason,
- 2:05:12Speaker 12: they refuse to commit to a strategy. And so this
- 2:05:14Speaker 12: is usually the people who get themselves into trouble because
- 2:05:16Speaker 12: if you give me at least broad terms of what
- 2:05:20Speaker 12: you will do behaviorally, I can set you up to
- 2:05:23Speaker 12: protect you from yourself and from other outside variables and
- 2:05:26Speaker 12: give you options and what's best for you. And again,
- 2:05:30Speaker 12: so where it gets difficult. If you're somebody who goes
- 2:05:33Speaker 12: I might spend seventy five grand a year.
- 2:05:36Speaker 4: I might might. The word might is a nightmare, right,
- 2:05:39Speaker 4: but I.
- 2:05:39Speaker 12: Might spend one fifty although you know, we've talked about
- 2:05:42Speaker 12: maybe one year. I'm not sure we're just gonna drop
- 2:05:45Speaker 12: another eighty k on a travel trailer.
- 2:05:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:05:47Speaker 12: Oh, and so stuff like that, where now you're just
- 2:05:50Speaker 12: kind of blowing through the barriers and the buoys and
- 2:05:54Speaker 12: the life saving devices that we put in place for you,
- 2:05:56Speaker 12: because randomly you decide, well, this is the year that
- 2:05:59Speaker 12: it's two hundosand I know I said it was sixty,
- 2:06:02Speaker 12: but this year it's two hundred and so now you're
- 2:06:04Speaker 12: blowing up the safety devices. Those are the people that
- 2:06:08Speaker 12: I find generally will not last for long, and weirdly,
- 2:06:14Speaker 12: the same people are the same people will go I
- 2:06:15Speaker 12: don't really mind, it's just strange. But what I don't
- 2:06:19Speaker 12: find is the people who will take the time to say,
- 2:06:21Speaker 12: here's what I spend. I know, within ten twenty twenty
- 2:06:23Speaker 12: five thousand dollars a year, what I'll spend, here's the
- 2:06:26Speaker 12: things that I think will cause me to go above that,
- 2:06:28Speaker 12: and how many times that will happen. Those people and
- 2:06:32Speaker 12: the people who usually come into our office, and I
- 2:06:34Speaker 12: think most of them rarely, if ever, have I had
- 2:06:39Speaker 12: somebody leave and go, gosh, that was a lot worse
- 2:06:41Speaker 12: than I thought it was gonna be.
- 2:06:43Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, yah, matter of fact, Scott and I've talked
- 2:06:44Speaker 4: about that before that a lot of people come in
- 2:06:46Speaker 4: and they think they're way worse positions than they really
- 2:06:48Speaker 4: are them when they lay out their Portfolioscud's like, hey,
- 2:06:50Speaker 4: good news for you, you're actually a pretty good position here.
- 2:06:53Speaker 4: Here's some things we need to tweak to get you
- 2:06:54Speaker 4: a better position.
- 2:06:55Speaker 12: And you're rarely far off if you just have a
- 2:06:59Speaker 12: solid savings plan. Yeah, and again, a lot of it
- 2:07:03Speaker 12: it is behavioral right. The market's going to do what
- 2:07:05Speaker 12: the market's going to do, and you should always I
- 2:07:07Speaker 12: was just telling somebody today, I don't I don't think
- 2:07:08Speaker 12: anybody should invest themselves into a corner, as I put
- 2:07:11Speaker 12: it today, where you have to be right for this
- 2:07:14Speaker 12: thing to work every investment. In my mind, if you can't,
- 2:07:17Speaker 12: should have different compromises and different flexibilities. If this, then
- 2:07:21Speaker 12: that sort of scenario.
- 2:07:22Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's it's.
- 2:07:27Speaker 12: It's not who you would think coming in and blowing
- 2:07:30Speaker 12: things up. If I were to come to you, I mean,
- 2:07:32Speaker 12: isn't that something you do up front?
- 2:07:34Speaker 4: Like you I come in and you're like, okay, look,
- 2:07:36Speaker 4: I'm going to retire in for the three or four
- 2:07:38Speaker 4: five years or whatever. Yes, and this is my goal.
- 2:07:40Speaker 4: We want to do some traveling. And then I'd say this,
- 2:07:43Speaker 4: but at some point in my retirement, my wife and
- 2:07:45Speaker 4: I have to have to discussed this, and we do
- 2:07:48Speaker 4: want to buy an RV. We're not sure now, but
- 2:07:51Speaker 4: we know that that's one thing we certainly want to do.
- 2:07:54Speaker 4: We think it's going to be about seventy five to
- 2:07:56Speaker 4: you know, ninety thousand dollars for the model we're looking at.
- 2:07:58Speaker 4: We've already projected out five years to what we're gonna do.
- 2:08:01Speaker 4: We kind of understand we want to do that. We
- 2:08:03Speaker 4: have some plans we want to do now. Yes, but
- 2:08:04Speaker 4: we do want to travel the nation and we want
- 2:08:06Speaker 4: to do that in a couple of years. That's better
- 2:08:09Speaker 4: than you know, maybe this will happen or maybe it's not.
- 2:08:12Speaker 4: If you just say, in my plan for the next
- 2:08:14Speaker 4: fifteen years, there's gonna be a boat and an RV Yep,
- 2:08:17Speaker 4: what do I need to do?
- 2:08:18Speaker 12: Yeah, And and part of our job is to say
- 2:08:22Speaker 12: you can do that, and here's the ways you can
- 2:08:23Speaker 12: do that. And I think I sent this in as well.
- 2:08:25Speaker 12: There's a difference between what you can do and what
- 2:08:27Speaker 12: you're comfortable doing. Yeah, you can do things a certain
- 2:08:31Speaker 12: way or you can do them a different way, and
- 2:08:33Speaker 12: some of those ways might make you comfortable. So if
- 2:08:35Speaker 12: it's hey, I'm going to buy a boat, and we
- 2:08:37Speaker 12: say okay, great, we know sometime in the next ten
- 2:08:39Speaker 12: years you're going to buy a boat. You can buy
- 2:08:42Speaker 12: it in cash, you can finance it. You can say
- 2:08:44Speaker 12: I'm going to finance it for X years and I'm
- 2:08:46Speaker 12: gonna sell it, and here's what I think the equa
- 2:08:47Speaker 12: will be worth, and I'll sell it for this much.
- 2:08:50Speaker 12: But these are all different versions to say, here are
- 2:08:52Speaker 12: your options. You tell me they all in theory should work.
- 2:08:56Speaker 12: You tell me which one makes you comfortable, because one
- 2:08:58Speaker 12: where you buy it in cash, might take enough out
- 2:09:00Speaker 12: of your account where you go, that's not a number
- 2:09:02Speaker 12: I ever wanted to see it, right right, right, and
- 2:09:04Speaker 12: that matters. And I've been having that conversation a lot
- 2:09:06Speaker 12: with people. I go, this does work. Are you comfortable
- 2:09:10Speaker 12: enough with the way it works to actually do it?
- 2:09:12Speaker 12: Because people get to that retirement age and everybody's you know,
- 2:09:15Speaker 12: in a hurry to retire, but when it comes time
- 2:09:17Speaker 12: to start spending your money, all of a sudden, it's well,
- 2:09:20Speaker 12: I could do one more year, right, right, right, right, right,
- 2:09:22Speaker 12: So you need to be comfortable not just that it
- 2:09:24Speaker 12: does work, but the way it works, because again, you
- 2:09:26Speaker 12: spend your life. You've accumulated five hundred six hundred million dollars.
- 2:09:30Speaker 12: If I say to you, hey, the way we're going
- 2:09:33Speaker 12: to do this one day, you're going to see five
- 2:09:34Speaker 12: hundred thousand again. Are you okay with that? And if not,
- 2:09:37Speaker 12: let's talk about a different way to get home?
- 2:09:39Speaker 4: Right. How many people come to your office like that
- 2:09:41Speaker 4: and and they've retired, Yeah, you know, they've gone through
- 2:09:44Speaker 4: the entire plan with you. They retire and they come
- 2:09:47Speaker 4: into the office and say, hey, look, man, retirement isn't
- 2:09:49Speaker 4: exactly what I thought it was going to be. I'm
- 2:09:53Speaker 4: bored sless. I want to go back to work. Now.
- 2:09:57Speaker 4: How do I get into that? Now?
- 2:09:58Speaker 12: Like what happened that is probably it's a good portion. Well,
- 2:10:05Speaker 12: I would say it depends on how you get into it.
- 2:10:06Speaker 12: So there are some people who know that's gonna happen,
- 2:10:08Speaker 12: and the way they kind of offset that is they
- 2:10:10Speaker 12: don't have a hard retirement.
- 2:10:11Speaker 4: They don't say I quit on Monday and that's it.
- 2:10:13Speaker 4: Or they do that thing where they were just retiring
- 2:10:15Speaker 4: from something and that to something.
- 2:10:17Speaker 12: And that's another I was just talking to the gentleman
- 2:10:18Speaker 12: today who has retired, but he volunteers at the emergency
- 2:10:22Speaker 12: room at the hospital. That's not a doctor. Doesn't want
- 2:10:25Speaker 12: that to freak you out. He's not getting a doctor.
- 2:10:26Speaker 4: Thanks, but he's a small surgeries. Yeah, they don't let.
- 2:10:30Speaker 12: Him do the big ones yet, right, So, yes, that
- 2:10:34Speaker 12: is is common that you didn't need to find something.
- 2:10:36Speaker 12: In fact, the other person I was just talking today
- 2:10:39Speaker 12: as well, was saying that they found bridge. That's which
- 2:10:43Speaker 12: I told I said, that's the kiss of death, right there,
- 2:10:45Speaker 12: you start playing bridge, you are retired. But he was
- 2:10:49Speaker 12: saying that, you know, he had kind of had a
- 2:10:51Speaker 12: hard time stepping away from work. Yeah, he finally found
- 2:10:54Speaker 12: something that occupies enough time, is stimulated enough that gave
- 2:10:57Speaker 12: him community to where now he does feel comfortable actually retire.
- 2:11:00Speaker 12: It was it was not a money thing for him
- 2:11:02Speaker 12: as a behavioral.
- 2:11:03Speaker 4: Right right right. And my mother in law just retired. Yeah,
- 2:11:05Speaker 4: and it was the same thing. She she had a
- 2:11:07Speaker 4: hard time kind of pulling away from the last couple
- 2:11:09Speaker 4: of years. You know, she made a great living and
- 2:11:12Speaker 4: and she liked what she does and she's very good
- 2:11:14Speaker 4: at it. Yeah, but when she decided to pull the
- 2:11:16Speaker 4: trigger and it was all done, there was none of that.
- 2:11:18Speaker 4: She made a deal with the company to stick on
- 2:11:20Speaker 4: as a consultant with an email window of a short,
- 2:11:24Speaker 4: short window like every day you can you can email me,
- 2:11:26Speaker 4: and I'll respond in this hour whatever, and outside of that,
- 2:11:29Speaker 4: I won't do anything, but I will provide that for you.
- 2:11:32Speaker 4: And that's how she kind of is staying active in
- 2:11:35Speaker 4: her work, but on her terms, right, and that's super important.
- 2:11:39Speaker 4: And then that's and I think that is the correct
- 2:11:40Speaker 4: thing is on your terms. Like the client the day said, well,
- 2:11:44Speaker 4: there's certain projects I like, and there's certain projects I
- 2:11:46Speaker 4: don't like. I just want to get to the point
- 2:11:48Speaker 4: where I can say that's a project I like, I'll
- 2:11:50Speaker 4: do it, and when it's done, I'll leave and if
- 2:11:51Speaker 4: you find another one, call me. I think that's what
- 2:11:54Speaker 4: a lot of people are in fact looking for, which
- 2:11:56Speaker 4: then brings into the conversation if you do that, are
- 2:11:59Speaker 4: you going to spend all your money?
- 2:12:00Speaker 12: How much do you like your children enough to leave
- 2:12:02Speaker 12: them that much?
- 2:12:03Speaker 4: Right?
- 2:12:03Speaker 12: And if so, how do you do that efficiently? That's
- 2:12:05Speaker 12: a whole Yeah.
- 2:12:06Speaker 4: I've heard there's a I heard a little rumor whatever
- 2:12:08Speaker 4: that one of the new things that people are doing
- 2:12:10Speaker 4: that are retiring, that have a little wealth and stuff,
- 2:12:13Speaker 4: that they have stopped thinking about leaving their kids as
- 2:12:17Speaker 4: much of their talking to my dad, they have stopped
- 2:12:22Speaker 4: doing that. The idea of leaving a massive amount of
- 2:12:25Speaker 4: wealth to somebody who didn't earn it. Is people are
- 2:12:29Speaker 4: changing their mind about what that what effect that has
- 2:12:33Speaker 4: on their kids. Yeah, and very fair, And to be
- 2:12:35Speaker 4: honest with you, from what I read, it doesn't really
- 2:12:38Speaker 4: matter how qualified the child may or may not be.
- 2:12:41Speaker 4: In other words, you know, you're not going to leave
- 2:12:43Speaker 4: a million dollars to a near a well. But that
- 2:12:46Speaker 4: same text was, I'm also not going to leave a
- 2:12:48Speaker 4: million dollars to somebody who may not may know what
- 2:12:50Speaker 4: to do with it, just simply because they didn't earn it.
- 2:12:53Speaker 12: It varies so much, and so start by saying, I've
- 2:12:56Speaker 12: certainly seen parents who come in and say, well, I
- 2:12:59Speaker 12: know I have one child who without this is going
- 2:13:02Speaker 12: to be destitute. And whether that's fair or not, that's
- 2:13:04Speaker 12: none of my business. But I've seen that happen other
- 2:13:07Speaker 12: ones who go, my kids are more than well off.
- 2:13:09Speaker 12: This is mine, you know, as my dad would call it.
- 2:13:12Speaker 12: They're trying to bounce the last check, right, And that's
- 2:13:15Speaker 12: that's cool too, you know. And there are plenty of
- 2:13:18Speaker 12: statistics in terms of what is the longety longevity of
- 2:13:22Speaker 12: your wealth through generations? Yeah, you know, historically speaking, if
- 2:13:25Speaker 12: we were looking at my situation. You know, my father's
- 2:13:27Speaker 12: built a company, he's done well for himself. I should
- 2:13:30Speaker 12: statistically maintain it. And my kids are going to be
- 2:13:32Speaker 12: spoiled brats who have a weird relationship to money, and
- 2:13:35Speaker 12: they blow it right, right right. So whether you give
- 2:13:38Speaker 12: it to them, don't give it to them. I don't
- 2:13:40Speaker 12: know how easy it is to avoid that.
- 2:13:42Speaker 4: Do you find that people who come see you and
- 2:13:44Speaker 4: are in that situation were open with their kids about
- 2:13:47Speaker 4: finances early in their life, or do you find that
- 2:13:49Speaker 4: people who have kids like that really protected them from
- 2:13:53Speaker 4: the idea thinking to themselves, well, I'm going to take
- 2:13:55Speaker 4: care of you financially, you don't really need to be
- 2:13:58Speaker 4: like a cognizant of the minutia of finance.
- 2:14:02Speaker 12: Which do you find you find more frequently the ones
- 2:14:04Speaker 12: that work well are the ones who do involve the
- 2:14:07Speaker 12: children just to educate them, because it if you don't
- 2:14:11Speaker 12: and and let's and and I get I get what
- 2:14:13Speaker 12: why somebody might do this if we say, well, I'm
- 2:14:15Speaker 12: I'm I'm never gonna really let onto what we have
- 2:14:18Speaker 12: because I want my children to learn how to work
- 2:14:21Speaker 12: and how to earn and to be adults. Which is
- 2:14:23Speaker 12: totally fair.
- 2:14:24Speaker 4: But they can look around and see the house are
- 2:14:25Speaker 4: living in, the you know, like, where did that come from?
- 2:14:28Speaker 12: And are you going to deprive yourself for long enough
- 2:14:30Speaker 12: to try to make that illusion work? The hard part
- 2:14:34Speaker 12: is if you if you don't teach a child how
- 2:14:37Speaker 12: it happened and then dump it on them, they're not
- 2:14:40Speaker 12: going to know what to do with it. And so
- 2:14:42Speaker 12: you hope they have the good judgment to find somebody
- 2:14:45Speaker 12: to help them sustain it. But I think more frequently
- 2:14:48Speaker 12: than not, you're not giving them. You're not equipping them
- 2:14:51Speaker 12: with the tools they need to handle this amount of wealth.
- 2:14:53Speaker 12: And even worse, as you find the second generation, because
- 2:14:56Speaker 12: they didn't earn it, have a very strange relationship to
- 2:14:59Speaker 12: it where they need to proved that they could have right,
- 2:15:02Speaker 12: And so then they get more involved with it, and
- 2:15:04Speaker 12: they probably should be. They want to be hands on.
- 2:15:06Speaker 12: Let me instead of being good at a craft, Let
- 2:15:09Speaker 12: me show you how smart I am with this money. Yeah,
- 2:15:11Speaker 12: and I'm going to make investments that are worth more
- 2:15:13Speaker 12: than the generation before could even believe and it goes away.
- 2:15:16Speaker 4: Yeah. And another thing too, I mean you you initially
- 2:15:19Speaker 4: you weren't going to be part of your dad's firm.
- 2:15:21Speaker 4: You had an zero intention, you got another another thing
- 2:15:24Speaker 4: all together. Was your dad somebody that raised you in
- 2:15:26Speaker 4: that in that manner to Scott bring you up like that,
- 2:15:28Speaker 4: or or was he one of these guys who didn't
- 2:15:29Speaker 4: want to push that world onto you, Like none of
- 2:15:32Speaker 4: my kids even thought about doing radio, because I never
- 2:15:34Speaker 4: I never talked to him about the business. Right, this
- 2:15:36Speaker 4: is just my job. I never lived this life at home,
- 2:15:40Speaker 4: so they didn't know anymore. They just know I talked
- 2:15:42Speaker 4: on the air. They hurt me on the radio. Sometimes
- 2:15:45Speaker 4: I thought.
- 2:15:45Speaker 12: My father watched the news.
- 2:15:47Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 2:15:47Speaker 12: I would come to his office and it'd be you know,
- 2:15:49Speaker 12: a CNBC or whatever business And I thought he just
- 2:15:52Speaker 12: watches the news, I guess, and sometimes the phone rings, right,
- 2:15:55Speaker 12: which I'm still convinced is what he does.
- 2:15:56Speaker 4: But no, it was never.
- 2:16:00Speaker 12: I mean, obviously there was an education to some extent
- 2:16:02Speaker 12: of hey, here's how different financial instruments work. But I
- 2:16:06Speaker 12: had zero intention of getting this industry, and when I did,
- 2:16:08Speaker 12: it was with a different firm. We felt it was
- 2:16:11Speaker 12: important that I not kind of just enter under his
- 2:16:14Speaker 12: wing and be the benefactor of what that is. Obviously,
- 2:16:17Speaker 12: that's that's changed.
- 2:16:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean, but it's not changed like that.
- 2:16:20Speaker 4: I mean, you know, sure it's a little different. So
- 2:16:22Speaker 4: we did get a question here. I wanted to ask
- 2:16:23Speaker 4: you real quick before we get to the event. Says
- 2:16:26Speaker 4: I'm sixty year sixty eight years old, retired. All I
- 2:16:29Speaker 4: have is a pension in social security. I work my
- 2:16:31Speaker 4: whole life and never put any money away. But that's
- 2:16:33Speaker 4: what your pension's kind of for.
- 2:16:34Speaker 12: You did put money away, which is an interesting conversation
- 2:16:37Speaker 12: of itself.
- 2:16:38Speaker 4: And somebody said, am I, and he says, am I screwed?
- 2:16:40Speaker 4: Isn't that all relative to all relative to the position
- 2:16:43Speaker 4: he is and what he wants?
- 2:16:44Speaker 12: Yeah, between your social security and your pension, you make
- 2:16:47Speaker 12: sixty grand, but you spend forty. Yeah, it sounds like
- 2:16:49Speaker 12: you're in a pretty good spot to me. Right, if
- 2:16:51Speaker 12: you're between the two, you get sixty and you spend
- 2:16:53Speaker 12: one hundred, I don't know how long that's going to last. Yeah,
- 2:16:56Speaker 12: So no, you're certainly not screwed. Do you lack flexibility
- 2:17:00Speaker 12: for sure?
- 2:17:00Speaker 4: Right?
- 2:17:01Speaker 12: Can can you? Unless you're saving a good portion of that,
- 2:17:03Speaker 12: can you suddenly go out and buy a car and cash?
- 2:17:05Speaker 12: My guess would be likely not. But if you're saving money, maybe,
- 2:17:09Speaker 12: and again screwed is relative, but what what do you
- 2:17:13Speaker 12: do You want to leave your kids a million dollars?
- 2:17:15Speaker 12: You have to start saving. No, they're screwed and you
- 2:17:17Speaker 12: your kids there, Yeah, that's they're not gonna get your pension.
- 2:17:19Speaker 4: Ratch or brown with us Edgewater Family Wealth's Edgewaterfamilywealth dot com.
- 2:17:22Speaker 4: We do have some events coming up right now, and
- 2:17:24Speaker 4: I am looking for them as we speak. I know,
- 2:17:28Speaker 4: go ahead, buddy.
- 2:17:29Speaker 12: So the one that I think is is soonest would
- 2:17:32Speaker 12: be on the eleventh.
- 2:17:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it is coming up on eleven March eleventh, that
- 2:17:35Speaker 4: winter Part Ruth's Chris. It's an eleven thirty in the morning.
- 2:17:38Speaker 4: It's a lunch gig. So if you're gonna plan to
- 2:17:40Speaker 4: take off for lunch and go up there, you can
- 2:17:41Speaker 4: do that if you just go to Edgewaterfamilywealth dot com.
- 2:17:44Speaker 4: You can go to that pull down menu and actually
- 2:17:45Speaker 4: reserve your seats. And it costs nothing to go about.
- 2:17:48Speaker 12: The costs nothing but the gas to get there, and
- 2:17:50Speaker 12: we will feed you. And again, the idea with these
- 2:17:54Speaker 12: lunch seminars is not to get all of you in
- 2:17:57Speaker 12: a room, lock the door and try to sell you
- 2:17:58Speaker 12: life insurance.
- 2:17:59Speaker 4: Right right right.
- 2:18:00Speaker 12: The idea there is to say, look, here's how we
- 2:18:03Speaker 12: see this going, Here's how we've seen it go in
- 2:18:05Speaker 12: the past, here's kind of how we do it. Ask
- 2:18:08Speaker 12: us questions. And as I said last week, at the
- 2:18:11Speaker 12: end of this, I will not grab you by the
- 2:18:13Speaker 12: hand and hang on until you agree to give me money.
- 2:18:15Speaker 12: I will hand you a piece of paper. It will
- 2:18:17Speaker 12: say I would like to meet with the team. I
- 2:18:19Speaker 12: would like to meet with Greg who's our Medicare and
- 2:18:21Speaker 12: Social Security. I would like a book, or I would
- 2:18:23Speaker 12: like you to leave me alone forever and ever, right
- 2:18:24Speaker 12: right right right right. And I'm content to honor all
- 2:18:28Speaker 12: of those options.
- 2:18:30Speaker 4: And you do have another one as well, so again,
- 2:18:32Speaker 4: if you want to go to that one, that is
- 2:18:34Speaker 4: March eleventh, which is coming up here pretty soon Winnipart
- 2:18:37Speaker 4: Ruth Chris. And the other one, if you missed that one,
- 2:18:39Speaker 4: is on March thirty first. It's at the Lake Mary
- 2:18:42Speaker 4: Ruth Chris. Again. It's a lunchtime gig and it's easy
- 2:18:45Speaker 4: to reserve your seat Eduaurfamilywealth dot Com. Just go to
- 2:18:48Speaker 4: the pulldown bar, reserve your seat. You show up. Not
- 2:18:50Speaker 4: only do you get a great lunch from Ruth christ
- 2:18:53Speaker 4: Lunch one of the best steakhouses in the area. You
- 2:18:55Speaker 4: also get a lot of information and like you said,
- 2:18:57Speaker 4: you do bring other professionals with you the deal with
- 2:18:59Speaker 4: little security and other things as well.
- 2:19:01Speaker 12: Yes, sir, yeah, yeah. So again, if if you're somebody,
- 2:19:04Speaker 12: whether you have somebody and you're going I don't know
- 2:19:07Speaker 12: if this is the right way to do it, or
- 2:19:08Speaker 12: you've never had somebody, and you say I don't know
- 2:19:10Speaker 12: how to do this at all, I hope that there
- 2:19:12Speaker 12: is something you can take from it, and that that
- 2:19:14Speaker 12: really is the goal. It is not It is not
- 2:19:18Speaker 12: to take your money from you and or.
- 2:19:20Speaker 6: Tell you something.
- 2:19:21Speaker 12: Yeah, I don't really have much to sell. If you
- 2:19:23Speaker 12: like what you what you hear, and what we do
- 2:19:25Speaker 12: and you think it can be a benefit to you,
- 2:19:27Speaker 12: great right right. But if not, and that's not to
- 2:19:30Speaker 12: say because we're not good or because we are good,
- 2:19:32Speaker 12: but maybe you can take what you learn and go
- 2:19:35Speaker 12: do it yourself, and I'm fine with that. So again,
- 2:19:37Speaker 12: the goal is that you have some mistake, hopefully you
- 2:19:39Speaker 12: learn something and do what you want from there.
- 2:19:42Speaker 4: Edgewaterfamilywealth dot Com. Book your appointment and get in there
- 2:19:45Speaker 4: and take care of these guys. Also, if you have
- 2:19:46Speaker 4: any questions for them, they will take your questions absolutely.
- 2:19:48Speaker 4: You can call the office and have a short question
- 2:19:50Speaker 4: and if it goes more than that, or these guys
- 2:19:52Speaker 4: believe that it's gonna take a little more time, you
- 2:19:53Speaker 4: can book an appoinment. Go up there and talk to
- 2:19:55Speaker 4: these guys.
- 2:19:55Speaker 12: Yep, and I won't charge you for that either.
- 2:19:57Speaker 4: Yeah, bratch you around, guys, give it up. Thank you
- 2:20:02Speaker 4: so much, so much. What do you got for your here?

- 2:21:13Speaker 4: Did you see that podcast this weekend of the Guy
- 2:21:15Speaker 4: from Africa?
- 2:21:16Speaker 2: They're asking him about the opening words to the Lion
- 2:21:18Speaker 2: King you know n.
- 2:21:21Speaker 1: They asked him what does that mean?
- 2:21:23Speaker 4: The guy who says it literally means, look it's a lion.
- 2:21:26Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's a liar.
- 2:21:30Speaker 4: Thank you, dom Well Jimmy with the kid cod chips.
- 2:21:34Speaker 19: I really love to do is take a can tuna like,
- 2:21:37Speaker 19: drench it out completely, take mail added to it, salt
- 2:21:40Speaker 19: and pepper and just dip that stuff in there.
- 2:21:43Speaker 15: So good.
- 2:21:44Speaker 4: Thanks. I have to try that, mister Jim.
- 2:21:48Speaker 21: Go to gym members your only page, your own page,
- 2:21:52Speaker 21: and watch me pet my main coon's belly.
- 2:21:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Rubby dub.
- 2:22:00Speaker 4: That's the caddy did not vary. Yeah, if I had
- 2:22:07Speaker 4: a narrator for nightmares. Welcome back to the Jim Culbert Show.

- 2:22:35Speaker 1: Oh wow.
- 2:22:36Speaker 4: The relationship Expert a book called oh Something of the Quiet, Yeah, something,
- 2:22:43Speaker 4: the Something of Quiet, the cost of quiet. There you
- 2:22:46Speaker 4: go in other words, in relationships, that's having problems with
- 2:22:48Speaker 4: your partner and not sharing them and then have that
- 2:22:51Speaker 4: that that build up over the life of the relationships.
- 2:22:54Speaker 4: She wrote a book on that. And I don't know
- 2:22:55Speaker 4: if you've been paying attention to her social dude, My
- 2:22:57Speaker 4: girl has been out and around. She has done so
- 2:23:02Speaker 4: much media to cover this book. I mean national television shows, podcast, radio, broadcast.
- 2:23:08Speaker 4: So we'll have Collette on again tomorrow. We're proud of
- 2:23:10Speaker 4: that because she actually is going on another press junket

- 2:23:16Speaker 9: here on Real Radio Thursday nights at eight o'clock with
- 2:23:19Speaker 9: Tom and David.
- 2:23:20Speaker 4: Yeah, lovely dababers absolutely all right for seven nine one
- 2:23:23Speaker 4: six one four one. I am Jim, Jack and Deva
- 2:23:25Speaker 4: and Jackler here as well. Let's do yeah heard it
- 2:23:28Speaker 4: here first, Good time for you.
- 2:23:31Speaker 5: Heard it here first.
- 2:23:33Speaker 7: On the Jim Colbert Show, Secretary of State Marco Rubio
- 2:23:36Speaker 7: says the US is working hard to get Americans out
- 2:23:39Speaker 7: of the Middle East as Operation Epic Fury continues.
- 2:23:43Speaker 24: We have about fifteen hundred Americans that are requesting assistance
- 2:23:47Speaker 24: with departure. We have identified and continue to identify charter flights,
- 2:23:51Speaker 24: military flight options, and expanded commercial flight options, meaning working
- 2:23:55Speaker 24: with the airlines to send bigger airplanes with more seats.
- 2:23:58Speaker 7: He added that staff is in the process of contacting
- 2:24:01Speaker 7: Americans and they urge everyone to go to the State
- 2:24:03Speaker 7: Department's special website. Meanwhile, thousands of cruise ship passengers are
- 2:24:08Speaker 7: also stranded in Gulf ports. At least six large cruise
- 2:24:12Speaker 7: ships are currently docked in the ports of Dubai and
- 2:24:14Speaker 7: Doha Cutter, unable to move because Iran has blocked passage
- 2:24:19Speaker 7: through the States of Horror Moves. There's currently no firm
- 2:24:22Speaker 7: timeline for when those ships will be cleared to move.
- 2:24:25Speaker 7: Or when normal flight operations will resume. But it's very
- 2:24:29Speaker 7: sad seeing so many Americans just.
- 2:24:31Speaker 4: Well, that's actify. That's a sitting duck scenario. Oh yeah, exactly,
- 2:24:35Speaker 4: complete sitting ducks, exactly exactly all right, I knew.
- 2:24:38Speaker 7: Florida bill would allow residents to get rid of their homeowners' associations.
- 2:24:43Speaker 7: Under House Bill six fifty seven, homeowners would be able
- 2:24:46Speaker 7: to dissolve their ho ways under certain circumstances, including approval
- 2:24:51Speaker 7: from at least half of their howa's voting members. Now,
- 2:24:54Speaker 7: if approved, the HOA board would do would distribute remaining
- 2:24:58Speaker 7: assets among the members. The bill has passed that final
- 2:25:01Speaker 7: committee and is set for consideration by the full House.
- 2:25:04Speaker 4: Man, I know they get a terrible reputation, but living
- 2:25:06Speaker 4: in a neighborhood with one is so much better than
- 2:25:09Speaker 4: living in a neighborhood with not one, if you have
- 2:25:11Speaker 4: the opportunity. Because until you have a disagreement, I was
- 2:25:15Speaker 4: going to say, no way in hell.
- 2:25:16Speaker 7: I know.
- 2:25:18Speaker 4: So you'd like somebody to be able to come in
- 2:25:19Speaker 4: and basically have a junk house right next to you
- 2:25:21Speaker 4: because and completely destroyed.
- 2:25:24Speaker 13: I can deal with that.
- 2:25:25Speaker 7: I don't want some board Senior citizen with a ruler
- 2:25:29Speaker 7: and six am coming to measure my grass or taking
- 2:25:32Speaker 7: photos of want to meet, taking our trash cans.
- 2:25:35Speaker 4: I gotta tell you, I think that's the smallest, the
- 2:25:37Speaker 4: h percentage of those experiences. I think those not for
