- 0:01Speaker 1: Jerry, Katie and Josh six one hundred just real quick.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I was looking at posts alone from the FIFA game yesterday.
- 0:10Speaker 2: His cup his T shirt says, I just hope both
- 0:14Speaker 2: teams have fun. Yeah, is that real?
- 0:16Speaker 1: You can get away with it and not Helmo.
- 0:18Speaker 2: That's like something that I would say, I just both
- 0:21Speaker 2: hope both things have fun. Yeah, that's fantastic.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Get along exactly.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I love that guy so much. That Bellpockle God.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Well, we don't have a dog in the fight. Of
- 0:31Speaker 1: course you can say that.
- 0:32Speaker 3: I mean us got knocked out quite a ways back,
- 0:35Speaker 3: So have fun with it.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Posty Katie wanted to do a coffee update. It's a
- 0:39Speaker 2: coffee update with Katie.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You know how much I love it. You know how
- 0:42Speaker 1: much I need my coffee.
- 0:43Speaker 3: And I found this story that says, up to five
- 0:46Speaker 3: cups of coffee a day, it may potentially lower your
- 0:50Speaker 3: heart disease risks.
- 0:51Speaker 1: So we're talking stroke, diabetes.
- 0:54Speaker 3: And heart failure, all these things in the study where
- 0:57Speaker 3: we're seeing, you know, a noticeable over risk when you
- 1:01Speaker 3: drink coffee, and they're just saying regular coffee consumption in general,
- 1:05Speaker 3: like you don't have to have those five cups, like
- 1:07Speaker 3: if you just have a cup a.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Day, it'll work for you as well. But Jeremy, what.
- 1:12Speaker 3: This is the part that I really talk to you about,
- 1:14Speaker 3: because it really matters how you prepare your coffee.
- 1:18Speaker 2: That's the thing. You can't fill it with a bunch
- 1:19Speaker 2: of crap.
- 1:20Speaker 3: That's not even it, Jeremy, that's not it. It's something different.
- 1:23Speaker 3: So this the good benefits.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Only the French Press really bad for you.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Oh it's bad.
- 1:30Speaker 1: It's bad for you.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I want a French Press.
- 1:33Speaker 3: So strictly, this study is strictly for paper filtered or
- 1:37Speaker 3: instant coffee. So when you heat it up like that,
- 1:40Speaker 3: Apparently here's the thing they're saying. The French press, espresso
- 1:43Speaker 3: or Turkish coffee, those retain a natural compound called cafe
- 1:47Speaker 3: stole that raises your LPL the bad cholesterol, and that
- 1:51Speaker 3: can clog your arteries over time.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So if you're drinking a lot of coffee that you've
- 1:55Speaker 1: prepared that way, actually bad for you.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I do paper filter right now. But I've been in
- 2:00Speaker 2: the French press.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I know you have, and that's why I'm telling you.
- 2:03Speaker 2: And I don't know which. To me, that also sounds
- 2:04Speaker 2: like a pretty awesome Comma suit. Remove the French press.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Now you got everybody thinking think about it.
- 2:16Speaker 3: I just I wanted to tell you this because I
- 2:18Speaker 3: know that you've been thinking of going to the French and.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I will tell you I've done French press before and
- 2:23Speaker 1: I love it.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so tasty, that little like you know, film
- 2:27Speaker 3: of bubbles on the dumb Yeah, bubbles.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It tastes so good. But apparently those bubbles are what's
- 2:33Speaker 1: bad for us.
- 2:34Speaker 3: So if you're going to be drinking coffee, make sure
- 2:36Speaker 3: it is the paper filtered.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I don't miss me with that instant coffee. I ain't
- 2:40Speaker 1: trying to drink that.
- 2:41Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, definitely, it's it's still okay if
- 2:44Speaker 3: you crush your own beans, crush the beans.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I do that right before the French you do.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you do, hashtag crush the beans. But yeah, just
- 2:55Speaker 1: make sure you're staying on the healthy side.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Of drinking coffee, because I know you drink a lot
- 2:59Speaker 3: of it, like I do it consistently.
- 3:01Speaker 1: You drink my.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Morning for sure, it's morning. You know, I go to
- 3:04Speaker 2: bed at night thinking about my cup of coffee in
- 3:06Speaker 2: the morning. I've made a little switch up. I'm kind
- 3:09Speaker 2: of sick and tired of reading about all the artificial
- 3:11Speaker 2: sweeteners because I was a Stevie guy and just sugar
- 3:14Speaker 2: in general. I know this still has sugar in it,
- 3:16Speaker 2: but I switched to the blue agave recently. Yeah. The
- 3:21Speaker 2: it's like putting syrup or honey in your coffee. It's
- 3:23Speaker 2: the blue agave. It's more natural. It's sweeter than sugar.
- 3:27Speaker 2: And I'm gonna tell you game changer. Yeah, it tastes
- 3:30Speaker 2: really good. Yeah, I really really get.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Maple syrup in my coffee, so same thing, like and
- 3:35Speaker 3: good maple syrup, like the good stuff.
- 3:38Speaker 2: So I suppose I could do that. It just seems
- 3:39Speaker 2: a little more natural than sugar. Then, yes, yes, and
- 3:43Speaker 2: all this, you know stevia and even I picked up
- 3:47Speaker 2: a thing of monk fruit too, but it was like
- 3:49Speaker 2: mixed with something as well. That was science.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I see people with their monk fruit and I'm like,
- 3:54Speaker 3: miss me with your monk fruit.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Right Monk fruit right now is such a status symbol.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I've noticed. It's like you turn your nose up at
- 4:04Speaker 2: the regular sugar people. You monk fruit, mounk fruit here
- 4:10Speaker 2: because it's like so expensive too. Oh yeah, munk fruit
- 4:13Speaker 2: is a status you're.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Gonna pay a pretty penny for your move.
- 4:16Speaker 2: You don't monk fruit.
- 4:18Speaker 1: That's a good move.
- 4:19Speaker 2: That's pretty. That's that's that's close behind the munk fruit.
- 4:22Speaker 3: But don't promised me you won't be buying a French now.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I promise.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 4:28Speaker 2: There a couple of the big stories floating around this weekend.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Of course, everyone's still talking about the explosive diarrhea. Did
- 4:37Speaker 2: you get it? Katie?
- 4:39Speaker 1: I did not.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Oh, I've never been so worried about it, though, every
- 4:43Speaker 3: little tummy rumble, I'm like.
- 4:47Speaker 2: A little Later on the show, probably in the eight
- 4:49Speaker 2: o'clock hour, we're we talking about Katie's boyfriend that came
- 4:52Speaker 2: to town. No no, no, oh, yeah, sorry about Katie's
- 4:56Speaker 2: booty call. And we'll take that talk about that and
- 5:01Speaker 2: the text I sent you this weekend about pooping, so
- 5:04Speaker 2: we'll dive into that anyway. I guess officials have officially
- 5:10Speaker 2: linked a Taylor Farms lettuce planned in Mexico to the Cyclospora,
- 5:18Speaker 2: the parasite that is causing this diarrhea. Taylor Farms did
- 5:23Speaker 2: issue a recall notifying customers that the lettuce shipped to
- 5:27Speaker 2: about I think it was like thirty states or something.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Has been contaminated. A lot of it was shipped to
- 5:33Speaker 2: the Taco Bell locations. Oh no, which is where they're
- 5:36Speaker 2: thinking is ground zero of all this. This was on
- 5:43Speaker 2: the news last night and my son's like, oh Dogo Bell.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I was like, this is why you don't eat fast food.
- 5:50Speaker 2: They say that none of their branded salads or kits
- 5:54Speaker 2: are associated with this, so I guess that would be
- 5:56Speaker 2: like the bag salads so people worried about. Yeah. Yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 2: much of the product is being recalled that was sold
- 6:02Speaker 2: in larger bags to food service operations like the restaurants.
- 6:06Speaker 2: The bags were iceberg lettuce blended with romaine. They say
- 6:11Speaker 2: that though they're still being kind of like confusing in
- 6:16Speaker 2: their statements. They're not listing off complete distribution centers or
- 6:21Speaker 2: stores or full restaurants that receive their product. There's like
- 6:25Speaker 2: no full list that they're putting out, so.
- 6:27Speaker 1: They have to do that.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I know that. I'm like, why why are you not
- 6:31Speaker 2: doing that?
- 6:32Speaker 3: If they caused an outbreak of this size and this standard,
- 6:36Speaker 3: like they would do their due diligence and making sure
- 6:38Speaker 3: people don't get sick.
- 6:39Speaker 1: What the heck.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Do due due diligence, right.
- 6:44Speaker 1: If that's what you pick up.
- 6:47Speaker 2: They say, yeah, this story says it makes you wonder
- 6:49Speaker 2: if Taylor Farms even knows the full extent of the
- 6:52Speaker 2: compromised foods. They probably don't. They're saying five thousand individuals
- 6:56Speaker 2: have been sickened by this in at least thirty four states.
- 6:59Speaker 2: There's gotta be more to There's gonna be more, way more.
- 7:03Speaker 2: We went out to one of those casual dieting places
- 7:08Speaker 2: over the weekend and I looked down as they were
- 7:10Speaker 2: making my sandwich and there was like no lettuce.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, they've taken it out the menu and bart move.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Then Josh and I were laughing on Friday because McDonald's
- 7:18Speaker 2: was making a big deal about releasing this brand new
- 7:20Speaker 2: caesar salad. It's a new caesar salad from McDonald's. Timing,
- 7:26Speaker 2: bad timing, bad time, Okay. And then how about this story.
- 7:30Speaker 2: My wife and I were talking about this last night.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Two men are suing a North Dakota hospital. Kadie, that's
- 7:37Speaker 2: where you're from. Easy after they say they were switched
- 7:41Speaker 2: at birth thirty eight years ago. Here's one of the
- 7:45Speaker 2: guys talking about it.
- 7:46Speaker 4: January twenty sixth, nineteen eighty eight.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Only Kyle and I were born in that hospital that day.
- 7:52Speaker 5: It's the only time we've ever been together.
- 7:54Speaker 4: My aunt Mark and I were on ancestry dot Com.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I had done for DNA testing on my raising mom,
- 8:03Speaker 4: Evelyn Newton. That came out conclusively that you know, she
- 8:07Speaker 4: was biologically my brother's mom, but she didn't match with me.
- 8:12Speaker 4: On the platform, we kind of concluded and said, basically, look, Kyle,
- 8:15Speaker 4: you were switched at birth.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Lookkyle, so this is a guy named Kyle and Jeremy,
- 8:20Speaker 2: only two kids born in that hospital in North Dakota.
- 8:23Speaker 2: They say, what town is, No, I don't have that here.
- 8:27Speaker 2: But they were accidentally sent home with the wrong family.
- 8:31Speaker 2: So there was only two kids there and they made
- 8:33Speaker 2: the mistake they switched those two. That's North Dakota for you.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It really is.
- 8:37Speaker 3: And if I'm thinking okay, Grafton, no way, So Grafton,
- 8:41Speaker 3: North Dakota.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Again, these are small towns. When you think of.
- 8:44Speaker 3: The size of these towns, Grafton population, let's see what
- 8:48Speaker 3: that is. I bet you it's under two thousand people.
- 8:50Speaker 2: So this is why there was only two kids born.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Why if they're like, there's two kids.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Mark, one with a sharpie, right, this is your job
- 8:57Speaker 2: thirty nine hundred by the way, nine hundred.
- 8:59Speaker 3: People in this town, and it's like they didn't figure
- 9:02Speaker 3: it out, Like there's only so many people.
- 9:05Speaker 1: That's what gets me. It's one thing. If this happened.
- 9:10Speaker 2: So I think about this forty years later and you
- 9:14Speaker 2: find out you were sent home with the wrong family,
- 9:17Speaker 2: what do you do? Do you try to get to
- 9:19Speaker 2: know your real family? I think you would.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I would. I'd want to at least reach out and
- 9:25Speaker 1: be like, hey, you want to get to know me.
- 9:28Speaker 1: You may not have dodged bullet, we don't know.
- 9:31Speaker 2: And then what does that do to your parents that
- 9:33Speaker 2: took you home, that raised you all those years? I
- 9:36Speaker 2: love you. You guys have developed a bond over forty years.
- 9:40Speaker 2: What happens to that?
- 9:41Speaker 1: It's going to create some kind of It was all
- 9:43Speaker 1: a scam for sure.
- 9:44Speaker 3: But I think like if it was me, I would
- 9:46Speaker 3: definitely at least want to reach out and talk to
- 9:49Speaker 3: this family that I'm quote unquote from and know nothing about. Like,
- 9:53Speaker 3: wouldn't the curiosity get you?
- 9:54Speaker 1: Would it?
- 9:55Speaker 2: Would? I started talking with my wife about this. I
- 9:58Speaker 2: was like, wouldn't you be pissed if you found out
- 10:00Speaker 2: the family you're supposed to go home with were like
- 10:03Speaker 2: multi millionaires. That's where I like completely set for life.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And say you were with another the family that raised you,
- 10:10Speaker 2: that really struggled and you're having a hard time, You're.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Like, man, I missed out exactly, yeah, I think.
- 10:16Speaker 2: And then do you go to that family like, hey,
- 10:18Speaker 2: I'm really yours? You want to let me in?
- 10:21Speaker 1: And would you try and get some money? Like I'm
- 10:23Speaker 1: sure you could. I don't know what. Don't even know
- 10:26Speaker 1: you though?
- 10:26Speaker 4: Are?
- 10:26Speaker 2: I mean like that they would know you are essentially
- 10:30Speaker 2: a stranger even though you are blood. Yeah, the whole
- 10:33Speaker 2: thing is fascinating to me. It really really is what
- 10:36Speaker 2: it really is complicated it would be. Now.
- 10:39Speaker 3: What it really shines a light onto me is how
- 10:41Speaker 3: often did this happen and we just don't know about it?
- 10:44Speaker 3: How many people are walking around out there who are
- 10:47Speaker 3: part of another family and they don't even know because
- 10:50Speaker 3: these two found out because of the ancestry stuff, there's
- 10:53Speaker 3: lots of people who haven't done that. I've never done
- 10:55Speaker 3: one of those things.
- 10:58Speaker 2: You and your sisters look like twins. You're good, Dakota, exactly.
- 11:05Speaker 1: You know, Like, I just think that this happens a
- 11:07Speaker 1: lot more than we think.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Totally yeah, you're probably right. You're probably right, but that's
- 11:12Speaker 2: a wild story for sure. Got us talking over the
- 11:14Speaker 2: weekend last week in employee with a portable toilet company
- 11:18Speaker 2: in Kansas City went to collect a porta potty, but
- 11:22Speaker 2: it was locked. The worker shouted that, hey, I'll give
- 11:26Speaker 2: you ten minutes in there, but when I come back,
- 11:29Speaker 2: I gotta collect this thing. Well, the ten minutes went by,
- 11:33Speaker 2: the guy came back, he knocked, it was still locked.
- 11:37Speaker 2: The worker said, you need to get out now, and
- 11:40Speaker 2: the guy inside said, I can't get out because I
- 11:43Speaker 2: can't reach the door.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Oh, so he.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Called the cops. The cops came, forced the door open,
- 11:51Speaker 2: didn't see anybody inside it first, and then this happened.
- 11:56Speaker 5: They looked inside and didn't see anybody. Lid was closed,
- 12:00Speaker 5: no one was in the restroom. It kind of startled
- 12:03Speaker 5: that all of a sudden, a head popped out of
- 12:05Speaker 5: the toilet and he said, I'm in here, and he
- 12:08Speaker 5: told them he was retrieving a mountain dew bottle that
- 12:11Speaker 5: he dropped in from the night before. After it was
- 12:13Speaker 5: cut open, the man was able to etch the toilet.
- 12:16Speaker 5: The fire department did hook up water to their truck
- 12:19Speaker 5: and gave him a free shower.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so the guys that he was in the in
- 12:24Speaker 2: the old honeybucket because he had dropped his Mountain Dew
- 12:28Speaker 2: down in there and he went in to get it.
- 12:30Speaker 1: You wouldn't just buy another one.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Do the do He was in the do doo for
- 12:34Speaker 2: the mountain dew. There some like collector's edition or did
- 12:38Speaker 2: he literally just want a Well he was a guy, right,
- 12:41Speaker 2: this is a guy who's got a fetish or something. Well, Okay,
- 12:47Speaker 2: it's a big planet. There's a lot of weirdos out there.
- 12:51Speaker 2: There's a new one. There's a lot of people out
- 12:53Speaker 2: there that are in a weird things.
- 12:56Speaker 1: And I can't reach the door. Some new Jared, I
- 13:01Speaker 1: didn't even know you.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Could fit down in there if you wanted to.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I didn't either.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah. Anyway, it made me laugh too, because
- 13:08Speaker 2: you did the Donor Dash this weekend. Did and you
- 13:10Speaker 2: had a funny observation about using the toilette.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Because I got there super early before the race started
- 13:15Speaker 3: because I was seeing it out there in wash Park
- 13:18Speaker 3: and I walked into a different honeybucket before that one
- 13:21Speaker 3: that's just out there all the time.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, this was immediately walked out.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I was like, oh, my goodness.
- 13:28Speaker 3: So I went to the honeybuckets that were a part
- 13:30Speaker 3: of the race, right and I went into it and
- 13:31Speaker 3: it was like six forty five in the morning, and nobody.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Used this fresh honey. But I have.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Never been in a brand new, never been pooped in honeybucket.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I'll tell you what, yeh. I was so excited. I mean,
- 13:49Speaker 2: I stood it.
- 13:50Speaker 1: I didn't have to hold my breath. I got to
- 13:51Speaker 1: hang out there a little longer. I changed my shirt.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I looked at the advertisements on the honeypumpy.
- 13:57Speaker 2: You spend some time.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I never spend time.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I'm been there long enough to look at like you
- 14:02Speaker 3: could register to win your own honeybucket and everything. Yeah.
- 14:05Speaker 2: That's a good feeling, isn't.
- 14:06Speaker 1: It was the best feeling ever. I was like, nobody
- 14:10Speaker 1: has spread.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and this is it. I've been. It's happened to
- 14:15Speaker 2: me one time where I walked in at a major
- 14:17Speaker 2: event and I was a brand new, pristine, cleaned porta
- 14:20Speaker 2: potty and I proceeded to urinate all over the inside
- 14:25Speaker 2: of that thing. I host that mother down. It was everywhere.
- 14:31Speaker 2: But oh, it's the best feeling ever. It's good to
- 14:35Speaker 2: be king right,
