- 0:30
Welcome back. Yes, as we're.
- 0:33
Wrapping up this series with the letter of John, right?
- 0:38
Yeah. Here we are there, John, and I
- 0:42
believe this has only 1 chapter. Yes, 1 chapter, Yeah, the title
- 0:46
of this has a good report. So essentially, essentially he's
- 0:51
writing as in like excellent, a good report that goes without
- 0:55
saying of the things that he needs to say.
- 0:58
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.
- 1:01
How was your day? My day was good.
- 1:04
The pollen today was actually really intense.
- 1:06
Oh yeah, but it's going to rain tomorrow.
- 1:09
Yeah, the rain calms it down, right?
- 1:11
Yeah, I don't know. Pollen never really affected me.
- 1:14
Actually, it did once, like post pandemic, like 2021.
- 1:19
I was working with a friend over there somewhere in Long Island.
- 1:21
It was. Oh my God, I forgot the name of
- 1:23
that town, but dude, it was so bad.
- 1:26
Yeah, that I was like sneezing red eyes and but this year
- 1:31
wasn't much of the sneezing. It was more of the eyes.
- 1:33
Yeah, the eyes, right? Oh my God.
- 1:35
Yeah, my, my eyes. Like when I was driving I was
- 1:37
like why am I so itchy? Yeah.
- 1:39
But it's 'cause it's very windy today, so yeah, Oh well.
- 1:43
Alright, so before we start, you want to start us with a prayer?
- 1:47
Yeah, absolutely. Cool.
- 1:49
Thank you, Father, for allowing us just to be here, Oh God.
- 1:53
And I just pray, O Heavenly Father, that you guide us and
- 1:56
you lead us to the absolute truth.
- 1:58
But we're about to read it, the word of Heavenly Father and I
- 2:02
pray for my brothers and sisters, guide us and lead us in
- 2:06
your holy mighty name, Amen. Amen.
- 2:09
So as we were finishing this up, we were reading we were reading
- 2:15
earlier about Leviticus. Yeah.
- 2:18
And you were brain blown of the John quoting it, James quoting
- 2:22
from there, Jesus quoting. There, Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:25
Now I understand so much more when when they say this is not a
- 2:28
a new commandment but an old one.
- 2:31
Yeah, yeah, 'cause. And when and when he's and when
- 2:33
John says, well, here's a new one, but which was not almost
- 2:38
like he said it sarcastically, right?
- 2:40
Use use a new one. Right, right.
- 2:43
But it was just correlating to the.
- 2:44
Exactly. The other yeah, the commandment
- 2:46
that was already there. Exactly.
- 2:49
So here we are, third John and chapter 1, because it's only
- 2:55
one, it says, well, for those who don't know, I'm reading the
- 3:01
Nab's version, The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love, in
- 3:07
truth. All right, so there's an elder
- 3:09
in the church, right? Gaius, right, right, right.
- 3:12
Who seems like was the one there?
- 3:16
Maybe not in regards to leadership or Bishop, but.
- 3:20
Or I mean, yeah, possibly. Right.
- 3:23
Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be
- 3:27
in good health. There's nothing wrong with
- 3:29
working out. Yep, absolutely.
- 3:31
Being safe and being in good health, yeah, all right.
- 3:34
To have proper function to do the good work of God.
- 3:37
Correct. Yeah, I know.
- 3:37
Even in the Old Testament with the commandments I you know they
- 3:42
were ordered to be clean. You know, Oh, yeah.
- 3:44
So we were reading Leviticus and you were like, what?
- 3:47
And I was explaining to you every specific thing.
- 3:49
Yeah. Right.
- 3:50
Absolutely. Just as your soul prospers, so
- 3:52
he's like, look, be in good health and just as your souls
- 3:56
prospers. So if your soul with God that
- 3:59
walk thinking, you know, walking in the spirit, yeah.
- 4:02
And well, if you're so adamant about your health, well, so so
- 4:06
should your spiritual life be absolutely same.
- 4:09
Time with God. Yeah, for I was overjoyed when
- 4:13
brothers came and testified to your truth.
- 4:16
So it seems like they would visit.
- 4:18
John. That is how you are walking in
- 4:20
truth, right? Yep.
- 4:21
I have no greater joy than this. So he was more concerned with
- 4:25
his soul than his health, right? Right.
- 4:27
Still said. Good.
- 4:28
Excellent to hear of my children walking in truth.
- 4:32
Isn't that great? Awesome.
- 4:33
Yeah, absolutely. Beloved so.
- 4:35
So this is almost like a letter of like his last, like maybe one
- 4:42
of his last letters, right. Beloved, you are acting
- 4:45
faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brothers and
- 4:48
sisters. He's he's writing to guys and
- 4:52
especially when they are strangers and they have
- 4:56
testified to your love before the church, you will do well to
- 5:01
send them on their way in a manner of worthy of God.
- 5:04
So he's doing a good job being a teacher.
- 5:06
Yep, for they went out for the sake of the name, accepting
- 5:11
nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support
- 5:15
such people so that we may prove to be fellow workers with the
- 5:20
truth. What do you think that?
- 5:24
Fellow workers with the truth. This is therefore out to support
- 5:27
such people so that we may prove OK.
- 5:32
Fellow workers with the truth. Right.
- 5:34
And by fellow workers, there's action involved.
- 5:36
Exactly. And if there's action involved,
- 5:38
people are seeing those actions. Yep, absolutely.
- 5:40
Proving that you're with. The truth.
- 5:42
Amen. Right.
- 5:43
And again, remember what was going on during that time.
- 5:46
So they were, there had to be a distinction of them as followers
- 5:49
of the Messiah, right, versus other different sects of Jews
- 5:53
and the way of thinking that the Gentiles and all of this they
- 5:56
have, they have to be, they had to look different, not of the
- 5:59
world, right, right, right. Look or think or love the things
- 6:03
of the world, stuff like that. Absolutely.
- 6:06
And then verse nine goes, do you have anything?
- 6:08
Sorry, no, no. No, I'm just following along, I
- 6:11
wrote. Something to the church and I'm
- 6:14
I think he was referring to the second letter.
- 6:18
OK, but that Diotrepis, who loves to be first among them,
- 6:24
does not accept what we say. It's already there's
- 6:29
controversy. Oh OK with this guy here.
- 6:31
Diatrepus. Right.
- 6:32
That's why he he writes about a lot about people that go against
- 6:36
the teachings of Christ, the Antichrist, people within the
- 6:39
church. Right now he says this name
- 6:40
because it seems like at some point he grew and developed some
- 6:44
form of responsibility or leadership and now it's like
- 6:47
going against, right? Therefore I wrote something to
- 6:50
the church. So he's probably referring to
- 6:53
1st John 1345, Second John. Right.
- 6:57
Revelations, too. Absolutely.
- 6:58
For this reason, if I come, I will call attention to his
- 7:02
deeds, which he does unjustified, accusing us of
- 7:06
malicious work words right and and not satisfied with his He
- 7:12
himself does not receive the brothers either, and he forbids
- 7:16
those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.
- 7:19
So he's, he's being chaotic in the church.
- 7:21
Right, right. Kicking and doing whatever.
- 7:23
Yeah, yeah, closing the doors to the body of Christ, basically,
- 7:27
right? He thinks it's malicious, but
- 7:32
beloved. He's talking to Gaius again,
- 7:34
remember? Right.
- 7:35
And he's talking to Gaius about Diatrepis.
- 7:40
Beloved, do not imitate. So now he's saying Gaius do not
- 7:43
fall into this trap. So he's talking to Gaius.
- 7:45
So let's let's picture this guy as being a let's pretend, right
- 7:50
that we're like Gaius and Gaius talking to us, if you will.
- 7:54
He then says, beloved, do not imitate what is evil.
- 7:58
So he's calling out Diatrepus evil.
- 8:01
But what is good? Imitate what is good.
- 8:03
The one who does what is good is of God.
- 8:07
So he's American. The comparison of guys to
- 8:09
Diatrepus, the one who does what is evil, has not seen God.
- 8:14
Oh wow, what a bold statement, right?
- 8:16
Very bold. I mean, because he's talking a
- 8:18
believer. Diatreps is essentially A
- 8:20
believer who is like literally kind of misbehaving.
- 8:23
Right, right. Because he doesn't want to
- 8:25
accept, does not accept what we say.
- 8:28
And by what we say, he's referring to him and the, I
- 8:31
guess you could say the missionaries who go back and
- 8:33
forth. Right?
- 8:34
Yeah, then he says Demetrius has received a good testimony from
- 8:42
everyone. So here's another third person.
- 8:45
And from the truth itself, and we testify too.
- 8:48
And you know that our testimony is true.
- 8:51
Good. Look at that.
- 8:52
There's a testimony there. Proof.
- 8:55
I had many things to write to you, but I did not want to write
- 8:57
to you with a pen and ink. And once again, he says this.
- 8:59
But I hope to see you shortly, and we will speak face to face.
- 9:04
Please be to you. The friends greet you greet the
- 9:08
friends by name. All right, you're right.
- 9:12
This is like a letter saying like.
- 9:15
Sounds like this is his last letter.
- 9:17
Yeah, he doesn't want to write anymore.
- 9:18
He wants to. Yeah, be face to face.
- 9:21
Yeah. And it seems like he,
- 9:23
historically speaking, does get that chance to do that.
- 9:26
Yeah, because I want, I don't want to say theory.
- 9:29
Well, there's speculation, right, That they say that
- 9:32
there's the two different Johns here.
- 9:33
Oh, OK. But they say that it is the same
- 9:35
John, right. Because it has a different
- 9:38
writing skill. And I think or maybe not writing
- 9:41
skill, it's just different. It's just a slightly different.
- 9:43
Yeah. But but it is known that John,
- 9:46
the Gospel of John in Revelation is the same John.
- 9:49
Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:49
This one they're not sure because they say, well, the the
- 9:54
so so I forgot his name Theolophile.
- 9:57
This This is a weird name to say, but basically it was a
- 10:01
different name that he underwent.
- 10:03
Oh, OK. As a disguise.
- 10:04
Not not necessarily as a disguise, but almost like to
- 10:08
throw off any attention to him. Oh, OK what's the?
- 10:10
Last apostles say something had to be somehow preserved, right?
- 10:15
Yeah. So he didn't want to write
- 10:16
anymore. He wanted to, to, to speak to
- 10:19
him. He probably does get the chance
- 10:21
because he was the last. And I think he did witness to
- 10:25
see where the church doesn't get prosecuted anymore like the way
- 10:30
they were before. Yeah, I.
- 10:32
Believe so. Oh, OK.
- 10:34
So I like this part where he said he uses another person,
- 10:36
that Demetrius has received a good testimony from everyone.
- 10:45
So Demetrius came to John with a bunch of testimonies about
- 10:50
Gaius. Oh, OK.
- 10:52
And from the truth itself, and we testify too, and you know
- 10:56
that our testimony is true. And so, yeah, there you go.
- 11:00
So what are your thoughts about this?
- 11:02
No, it sounds like so far what I've read from from from his
- 11:06
letters sounds like he was alone a lot right out and about who
- 11:11
John because he's like he's like, I don't want to be reading
- 11:14
in in computer anymore. I want to see you guys.
- 11:16
I think right is that he's not going out and about.
- 11:20
He's like in prison. Or in prison.
- 11:23
I think he's outside if I'm not singing at this point.
- 11:25
In some island called Patmos. Oh, OK, OK, yeah.
- 11:29
It's an an island off I believe Turkey, or.
- 11:32
Yeah. Oh, OK.
- 11:36
Oh wow. And if he kept saying I want to
- 11:38
see face to face, then he was revealed that at some point he
- 11:42
would see them. Yeah, absolutely.
- 11:43
And then he'll then call them to the attention of all these
- 11:46
things. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:47
But absolutely. What got my attention was this.
- 11:53
Hold on right here, 11. OK.
- 12:01
Beloved, do not imitate what is evil.
- 12:05
Do not imitate. What is evil?
- 12:07
So he goes back. In all his letters he always
- 12:09
talks about evil, the Antichrist.
- 12:12
But what is good, right? The one who does not, So he's
- 12:16
talking to about that, but he's not talking about another person
- 12:19
who's not a believer. Not only talking about a
- 12:20
believer. A believer, yeah.
- 12:21
Who essentially proclaims Yeah. Because there there was that one
- 12:24
guy where, what church was it? Or which one?
- 12:28
A person that that John was like this one, he does not accept his
- 12:32
brothers and sisters in Christ. What do you mean?
- 12:36
What was it? What was his name?
- 12:37
Was it in the second book? No, no.
- 12:38
No, it was this one and the third one.
- 12:40
Who? Who was he against?
- 12:41
Who was he against? Diotrepis.
- 12:42
Yeah. Diotrepis.
- 12:43
Yeah, 'cause he was doing some evil things, right?
- 12:45
Yeah, he he was not agreeing and not accepting things that they
- 12:49
were saying. Right.
- 12:50
Exactly. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:52
So he was having false testimony versus Guy is having good
- 12:55
testimony. Yeah, Dimitri has brought all
- 12:57
that good testimony. Right, right.
- 12:59
Absolutely. And so now he's he's he's
- 13:03
talking about two believers here, one who essentially
- 13:07
supposed to be supporting the elder and the elder is getting
- 13:11
backlash from this person diet therapist.
- 13:13
And John got that he received that information.
- 13:15
So he writes about that, right, right.
- 13:17
So he lets him know do not imitate what is good.
- 13:20
Now, how can a believer amongst another believer within the
- 13:24
congregation, within the assembly, within the the
- 13:26
gathered right there, right? How can 1 be compromised?
- 13:32
How can one compromise? Like what?
- 13:34
How? Can one end up compromising
- 13:35
themselves? Well, it has to be due to lack
- 13:42
of faith, right? It has to be due to lack of
- 13:44
faith. Well, yeah, then you start
- 13:46
interest on the other people. Right.
- 13:48
Other people. Something like diatrepis?
- 13:50
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, are you a diatrepis right
- 13:53
in the church? Right, because I'm if I'm not
- 13:55
mistaken, right, like in first John, he, he says like the
- 13:59
testimony of man, but then he mentions the testimony of God,
- 14:02
right, Which is greater, right? Yes, exactly.
- 14:04
Yeah. Yeah, he does mention that,
- 14:07
yeah. So to try and get with this.
- 14:12
No. Well, Dimitrius is saying, well,
- 14:14
he says that Dimitrius has received a good testimony from
- 14:19
everyone. Uh huh.
- 14:20
You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 14:21
And from the truth itself and what we testify, you know that
- 14:24
word, the testimony is true, all of that correlates.
- 14:28
So it's like saying, OK, I have received good testimony amongst
- 14:33
everybody else. Everybody spoke good.
- 14:36
Yeah, right. But there's a testimony that's
- 14:38
greater, that's within you. That's what.
- 14:40
Right. Right.
- 14:41
That's what he then says. And from the truth itself, from
- 14:45
within, Yeah. And we testify too.
- 14:48
And you know that our testimony is.
- 14:51
True, true. Yeah.
- 14:53
So no, what I'm trying to get at is that how the only way you can
- 14:56
compromise yourself within a church amongst other people to,
- 14:59
I don't know, rebelling or who has not seen God, is if you
- 15:02
start to imitate their things, right?
- 15:05
Those evil things, those evil little works.
- 15:07
Yeah, yeah. That's why and and and 1st John,
- 15:11
he talks about do not love the world or the things of the
- 15:13
world. You know, 'cause the whole,
- 15:16
every letter here connects with each other.
- 15:18
So he, he, he talks about like, now do not let your heart
- 15:22
deceive you because your heart will, because of your lack of
- 15:26
faith in falling, maybe failing a few times, you know, your
- 15:29
heart is like, it's OK, you know, maybe you can do some
- 15:32
compromises here and there. So that's what it seems like
- 15:36
what was happening. Yeah, in some of the churches.
- 15:39
So now. In our time, for example, well,
- 15:47
we could say a person comes to the church and they they start
- 15:52
to become part of the, you know, congregation, the the assembly
- 15:55
of this location. And he starts to going and then
- 15:59
he said gets a tattoo, a small one.
- 16:01
I'm not saying, just want to clarify.
- 16:04
That's another conversation. But let's say he gets a tattoo.
- 16:06
Yeah, right. Essentially, that's something of
- 16:10
the world, right, Right. Let's be real here.
- 16:13
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right.
- 16:14
Because the Gentiles were the ones who did it.
- 16:16
He told the Israelites, don't do that.
- 16:18
Don't cut yourselves for the dead air and to get tattoos on
- 16:21
yourselves. It's something that they did.
- 16:24
The Egyptians did, the Canaanites.
- 16:27
You shouldn't do that. Yeah.
- 16:28
So let's say that's of the world, even if it's a Christian
- 16:32
verse that you want to put the concept of having incurred your
- 16:36
skin is of the world. Yeah, it is.
- 16:38
Absolutely. So let's say someone comes and
- 16:40
does that. The leader, the elder, if you
- 16:42
will, comes and says, hey, listen, we're trying to follow
- 16:46
the example of the of the, you know, the apostles.
- 16:50
Oh, well, no, well, I kind of disagree with that.
- 16:53
I'm just self expressing, you know, or I just want to you
- 16:56
know, that's you're a believer who and that's just one thing.
- 17:00
It could be many. Right, right, it could.
- 17:02
Be many, many other things. Serious, Shang, you know, Yeah,
- 17:05
No, I've seen it a lot with our our music.
- 17:08
A lot. A lot.
- 17:09
Well, that's another thing too. Like now we're doing that with
- 17:12
music, right? Right.
- 17:14
And that's tough. We don't know where the line is.
- 17:17
Yeah, right. And I'm a musician and, and, and
- 17:20
music can be very manipulative in regards to emotions.
- 17:24
Absolutely, you know. I totally agree, yeah, 'cause
- 17:26
people in the world, like they, they know what they're doing
- 17:28
with their music, the lyrics they put and everything they
- 17:32
know. It's like touching, catchy.
- 17:34
Some, some people do it for passion, right?
- 17:37
Some people say, well, what's a good lyric that we can sell
- 17:39
that, you know, will have 100 copies and it'll be sold and
- 17:42
it'll be the number one in the Billsboard, whatever, blah,
- 17:44
blah, blah, blah, blah. Uh huh.
- 17:46
So at the end of the day, anything, any, any little thing
- 17:48
you do ends up being a business. Yeah, it's true.
- 17:50
Sell something, right? And so how does one get a
- 17:55
tattoo? He got sold into it.
- 17:56
Someone sold him to it. Yeah, absolutely.
- 17:58
So either you let the world or things will sell you on these
- 18:02
things or imitate what is good. And someone who imitates what is
- 18:06
good is of God. Is what he's saying, Absolutely.
- 18:09
For those who don't, it's because he hasn't seen God, and
- 18:11
by seeing God that means he only follows by hearing, but he
- 18:13
doesn't see God. Right, right, right.
- 18:15
So. Like like Joe.
- 18:18
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I guess like, how do I say this,
- 18:25
The one who has not seen God. So like, for example, a true
- 18:28
follower of Christ, right? Someone that really truly
- 18:31
follows God, they will see like the fruits that God bears,
- 18:33
right? Is that what he's trying to
- 18:34
refer to? Like refer to?
- 18:37
Say it again. Like if someone is a true
- 18:39
follower of Christ. Right, right.
- 18:42
That person is a perfect example of of God like being with them,
- 18:45
right? So is that what he's trying to
- 18:47
imply? There.
- 18:49
Yeah, of course. Right.
- 18:50
Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 18:52
No, no, I'm saying like, like like.
- 18:57
Someone who does, who imitates the good, right?
- 19:01
Is of God. Is of God?
- 19:02
Absolutely. That means has to God, and I've
- 19:05
seen God meaning in a way of like, I see you right?
- 19:10
I know who you are. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 19:13
Yeah. Because like you don't have to
- 19:15
like really what, what I've seen in like within the world, like
- 19:20
you don't have to like put like so much effort into trying to I
- 19:25
guess show that you're a Christian.
- 19:27
It comes out naturally. Well, that's, that's my
- 19:29
experience. Like I just like hang out in the
- 19:31
place and I hang out there long enough they start noticing
- 19:35
they're just like, yo, are you a Christian?
- 19:38
I'm like, yeah, I'm a follower of Christ, man, say, oh, what
- 19:40
denomination? I'm like, I'm just a follower of
- 19:44
Christ. But like, they, they, they,
- 19:46
like, you know, the world will know you by your fruits.
- 19:48
You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 19:50
So did not imitate because if I was, if I imitate evil, because
- 19:54
there's a lot of people that say like, like, oh, I'm, I'm a
- 19:57
Christian. Well, now it's hard these days.
- 20:00
With why? Sometimes.
- 20:02
How do you know with? Who, Oh, who is who?
- 20:04
That's no, that's what I was trying to get to.
- 20:06
There's a lot of people that like say like, oh, I'm a
- 20:09
Christian and this and that, right?
- 20:11
But the only way someone would know that they're Christian is
- 20:14
if they actually mention, say by mouth, not the one that's
- 20:18
actually following God and following good.
- 20:21
That person just naturally will come out as a follower of
- 20:24
Christ. Well, I'll give you an example.
- 20:27
Like when you wear a hat, right? If you wear it backwards or
- 20:30
forward, how then do you determine if that person is
- 20:32
Christian? If he wears a baseball hat, a
- 20:35
baseball cap, right where you know, the the ghetto culture and
- 20:39
the hip hop culture wear it, you wear that.
- 20:41
Does that now determine that you're not or does that point
- 20:45
that you follow the trend of the world?
- 20:47
How do you know if wearing a hat forward or backward is not
- 20:50
following or wearing a hat in and of itself is a trend of the
- 20:53
world? So do you see where like you see
- 20:55
what what's happening, right? So yes, you're saying it's hard
- 20:57
to draw the line or? It's it's no, there is no line.
- 21:00
There's no line. Well, for example, it is much
- 21:02
easier. But even that appearance,
- 21:05
because God looks at the heart, it's at the heart from the
- 21:07
heart, everything comes out. For example, Oh my God, it's
- 21:12
like this is unfortunate, but let's say a female, right.
- 21:17
By by nature a female, you know, you know, it's very well
- 21:25
figured, right? Yeah.
- 21:27
From the from the from the from the upper side and then the
- 21:31
lower side. Yeah.
- 21:32
Yeah. Obviously, if the female was to
- 21:35
follow a trend of the world, she might not intentionally be
- 21:39
provoking, but the guy's being provoked to Logan essentially
- 21:44
lost and by loss, maybe he'll think of something be like, oh
- 21:48
wow, this and that, right, right conclusion, right.
- 21:51
But what if that girl is a Christian?
- 21:55
Why doesn't why doesn't she wear that type of wardrobe?
- 22:01
I mean, the only, the only conclusion we can really come up
- 22:03
with is like vanity pretty much, right?
- 22:06
But what if she's not doing it with that intention?
- 22:08
With that intention. But you see what I mean though,
- 22:11
right? Yeah, it's.
- 22:11
Tough to say, yeah. In the world that we live in
- 22:13
now, it it is to say, well, someone who fears God, well, a a
- 22:20
woman or guy, because a guy can also be prerogative.
- 22:23
And I've seen pastors on social media that were they're wearing
- 22:27
such a tight shirt, dude, you might as well like, just wear a
- 22:30
tank top. Yeah.
- 22:31
While you're at it, yeah, yeah. Right.
- 22:33
And your, your pants are so tight, like ridiculously tight
- 22:37
that you, you might as well just wear like like like an Under
- 22:41
Armour or something. Yeah, right, right.
- 22:43
No, I've seen it too. Yeah, I'm like OD.
- 22:45
So a guy equally this is not Sebastian, but a guy could
- 22:48
equally be prerogative as well. Yeah, absolutely.
- 22:52
So if that guy, he's a Christian, does he not know or
- 22:56
does he do that on purpose, right?
- 23:00
Like, you have to know, you have to be considerate.
- 23:03
Yeah, absolutely. Right, Yeah, yeah, that like all
- 23:06
right, you your body shaped is prerogative.
- 23:09
Maybe you should wear some couple things that are loose and
- 23:12
vice versa for a female. Yeah.
- 23:15
If you know, she's, you know, and by she has that
- 23:23
attractiveness, all regards, right.
- 23:26
She should like maybe consider. All right, well, maybe, you
- 23:29
know, maybe wear a skirt. Long skirt, you know?
- 23:35
Yeah. So she doesn't look prerogative.
- 23:37
Right, right. Right.
- 23:39
No, I totally agree. Yeah, absolutely.
- 23:41
That's just wardrobe and fashion about the way you're speaking,
- 23:44
the way you're thinking all this now, they would be like, well,
- 23:47
those are works. Well, listen brother, that's
- 23:50
nothing to do with works. That is the consideration of who
- 23:53
you are before. God to others, absolutely.
- 23:57
Right. Yeah, Yeah.
- 23:58
So that's what I'm saying. Like when we were reading
- 24:00
Leviticus, it felt like we were reading through the lens of God.
- 24:03
Yeah, Yeah. How he sees it, right, Versus
- 24:06
how we see it. For example, he tells do not
- 24:10
shave your head on the side. Yeah, on all sides and don't
- 24:14
have a tattoo. You look at a guy right now, his
- 24:16
heads are shaved and he has tattoos, Right, Right.
- 24:19
That's the look everybody wants or each guy wants.
- 24:22
And so, although they were doing it for other reasons, now it is
- 24:26
much of A more fascist statement.
- 24:28
Yeah. So when we were reading
- 24:32
Leviticus, we were reading in the through the lands of God.
- 24:34
How see He sees. Things right, right.
- 24:37
Yeah, absolutely. That's what I'm saying.
- 24:40
It's tough. Yeah, it is tough.
- 24:41
Yeah, Yeah. It's hard to draw the line
- 24:43
nowadays. You know, And when you read the
- 24:46
Old Testament, when I was reading the the commandments, I
- 24:50
noticed that there are parts where as the commandment was
- 24:54
done like that, that, you know, commandment, there are some
- 24:57
parts where it ended with I am the Lord your God.
- 25:00
Like for example, the tattoos, it ends with I am the Lord your
- 25:04
God. And you're right when you said
- 25:08
when you were like, dude, this is, it's almost like we're
- 25:11
reading it through the lenses of, of how God sees things.
- 25:14
I'm like, that's so true. That is so true.
- 25:17
So where do we draw the line nowadays?
- 25:19
Yeah, because I mean, this guy Diotrep is, how can he be
- 25:22
against if, if so-called John is speaking about love, Why would
- 25:27
dietrepers be against that? Right.
- 25:29
Because he was, Yeah, yeah, I guess he was compromised,
- 25:33
compromising a lot. Oh, how, why would he be against
- 25:36
that? And then not letting, not
- 25:37
letting the brothers and sisters and forbid them from wanting to
- 25:40
do so. And yeah, not letting them onto
- 25:42
the to the, to the to the assembly.
- 25:45
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he was against love?
- 25:49
I guess so maybe that maybe he's he saw that John was the like
- 25:54
with the body of Christ was not love the way they they wait the
- 25:57
way they like. How do I say this?
- 26:00
Saw the way love is. And some believers are like
- 26:03
that, yeah. When it's not the type of love
- 26:05
like that, they they get like so guarded and they start to push
- 26:10
away. Yeah, yeah, I've noticed that
- 26:12
too. Like when you present the love
- 26:15
of the true love of how God describes love, right?
- 26:18
And the apostles, how they describe love exactly.
- 26:21
And it all connects together. Like there's some people that
- 26:24
are like, Nah, it's too harsh. But then there's some people
- 26:26
that are like, Yo, that makes sense, That makes sense, that
- 26:29
love makes sense. So it's like we get a bunch of
- 26:31
mixed feelings and emotions. But I think what, what hurts the
- 26:36
most or sucks is when the our own brothers and sisters, when
- 26:41
we point out things in the Bible and Scripture of how God is
- 26:44
because God is love and we point to how God is right.
- 26:48
It's almost like they get upset and try to defend their way of,
- 26:53
of the way they see God. But like, you know, we've heard
- 26:56
that expression of facts don't care about feelings.
- 27:00
And the truth is that the way God is, is just the way God is,
- 27:03
you know? And he's a God of love, mercy,
- 27:06
yes, but he's also a God that judges.
- 27:09
He judges just like with. Justice.
- 27:11
Yeah, with justice. So anything that.
- 27:13
He does end righteously. Yeah, exactly.
- 27:15
Because I've heard of Christians are like, oh, how can such a
- 27:17
loving God send people to hell for eternity?
- 27:21
I'm just like, how can you say that when he was the one that
- 27:24
sent his only son to die for the world?
- 27:27
So. For something that wasn't even
- 27:30
worth. It that was.
- 27:30
Yeah, exactly. So I would.
- 27:33
I was. I'm just like that makes no
- 27:35
sense. Yeah, read.
- 27:35
I think Jeremiah or Isaiah's like filthy rags.
- 27:38
That's what we. Were yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 27:39
absolutely. And even even even Paul was
- 27:42
like. What a wretched man.
- 27:44
What a wretched man I am. Who can deliver me from from
- 27:47
this sin? Who can deliver me from this?
- 27:50
Only Christ Jesus. You know what I mean?
- 27:52
Yeah, exactly. So there's no excuse, man, at
- 27:54
the end of the day. Like once those commandments
- 27:58
enter your heart. Right.
- 28:00
Then sin becomes alive in your life, because now you have the
- 28:04
light shining on it, and you notice it.
- 28:06
Exactly so. There's no excuse.
- 28:08
And and and the the world tries to redefine this love and tries
- 28:14
to implement it. This.
- 28:15
This is the love. Right, right.
- 28:16
Absolutely. What?
- 28:19
Dude, it's almost like they they want to so badly be attached to
- 28:22
the way the world has presented love to them.
- 28:25
Exactly, but it's not. It's not, it's not, it never
- 28:27
will be. God is love.
- 28:29
He's, He is love. That is the true definition of
- 28:31
love. So it's either either like you,
- 28:37
you accept God's love and all he is, or no, or you don't.
- 28:42
That's it. Because it seems like this guy
- 28:44
was going against the what John would say, yeah, essentially
- 28:49
against Gaia's. Yeah, yeah.
- 28:51
And if he was going against them, he's going against
- 28:53
everything. You read through one.
- 28:55
Yep. Second and third John.
- 28:57
Yeah, 'cause remember what John said?
- 28:58
He says if they are of us, like they will listen to us, they
- 29:02
will listen to us. That's what he says.
- 29:05
So in this moment here, he's pointing out his diatripus as an
- 29:07
Antichrist. Yeah, exactly.
- 29:09
Because they came from us and now they're not of us.
- 29:12
Yeah. So it's, it's and yeah, those
- 29:15
who are listening, if anyone here listening possibly who is
- 29:19
not a believer, right, understand that we are talking
- 29:24
to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, within the
- 29:26
church, within the body of Christ.
- 29:29
But if there's anyone listening who is right, I want you to know
- 29:33
that have perspective, right? Because God did die for you.
- 29:39
Yep. He died for you.
- 29:42
He so loved the world. Is John 316 right that whoever
- 29:45
believes in and we shall have eternal life.
- 29:46
Those who don't are condemned already are condemned already
- 29:49
because the law points sin and sin causes them a prisoner to
- 29:54
death, and by that you are condemned already.
- 29:57
Yeah, absolutely. Right.
- 29:59
And so, yeah, you know, we wrapped it up.
- 30:03
It's a short. It's short.
- 30:04
Yeah, it was short. Yeah, it was almost like a a
- 30:06
closing letter like, well, hopefully I get to see you guys.
- 30:11
But he, he, he had to say something without, you know,
- 30:14
Hey, listen, man, you know, imitate what's good.
- 30:17
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Not imitate What's evil with
- 30:20
evil? That is crucial.
- 30:22
That is crucial. Especially nowadays, that is
- 30:24
very crucial, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 30:26
Something to consider. Absolutely.
- 30:28
So, you know, always subscribe to Spotify, our channel, and

Once again, feel free to comment and we can talk about anything
- 30:50
you guys want to talk about. And we'll close with a prayer.
- 30:54
Thank you, Father, for this opportunity to read these words
- 30:59
that we have and in our modern era, we have the technology,
- 31:04
phone, computer or the book to read of your word.
- 31:09
We have that. I would say we're spoiled.
- 31:13
Thank you so much. And the enemy might be angry
- 31:17
will always want us to to behave well and for him to take the
- 31:23
credit. But you died for us.
- 31:25
And we thank you that that through you in one hand, we can
- 31:29
serve you, O Lord of your law and also have understanding of
- 31:34
the law of sin of the flesh through Christ.
- 31:37
We can all do we can all do all these things through you.
- 31:40
Christ, that strengthened us and have a great night guys.
