  Speaker 1: you this morning. Man started off real crazy. But it's

  Speaker 1: just those little mishaps where we as people who are

  Speaker 1: striving to be successful, that makes all the difference in

  Speaker 1: the world. When you have those little minor things that

  Speaker 1: come up, you can't let the minor things stop you.

  Speaker 1: You've got to keep pressing forward. Now. Could I have

  Speaker 1: played the role of where is my car? Where is

  Speaker 1: my car? Oh? Where is my car? Instead of hustling

  Speaker 1: and grab a cab? So what am i? Am I

  Speaker 1: above a cab ride now? Or do I have to

  Speaker 1: look at the bigger picture and say, okay, I could

  Speaker 1: act like a little spoil brat some type of star

  Speaker 1: and go I don't ride in cabs or where's my car?

  Speaker 1: And then go to blaming people for not having a car.

  Speaker 1: Or do I make the adjustments because ain't like I

  Speaker 1: ain't been in a cab before? Now, slow down, Ain't

  Speaker 1: like I ain't never been in a in a beat

  Speaker 1: up car before? Slow down. Ain't ever like I ain't

  Speaker 1: never had a car and rode a bus before. Slow down,

  Speaker 1: ain't like I ain't never been homeless before, and aint

  Speaker 1: have nowhere to go? Slow down. So in those moments

  Speaker 1: right there, always remember where you come from, but even

  Speaker 1: more importantly, always remember where you trying to go, because

  Speaker 1: it's important for me that I get here as many

  Speaker 1: mornings as I possibly can. It's important because that's the goal.

  Speaker 1: And so many people allow a minor things to stop

  Speaker 1: them on their road to success. And I'm giving you

  Speaker 1: this example today not to say, hey, look at me,

  Speaker 1: but to say to you, hey, listen to me. There

  Speaker 1: are going to be a lot of things that's gonna

  Speaker 1: happen along your way to being successful. And if you

  Speaker 1: allow the small things to stop you, there's no way

  Speaker 1: you'll make it. You've got to always press forward and

  Speaker 1: stop looking at the situation for what it is, and look,

  Speaker 1: sometimes you have to take your eye off right now

  Speaker 1: and put your eye in the future. You know, God

  Speaker 1: has blessed me in so many ways. I mean, what

  Speaker 1: can I say? You know, I ask God for this

  Speaker 1: syndicator show. He gives me a syndicated show. Niact like

  Speaker 1: I don't want to come to it. Hold on, man,

  Speaker 1: slow down. Did not you ask for this? Do I

  Speaker 1: not realize that there are certain people, man, who look

  Speaker 1: forward to this message in the morning. I've heard it

  Speaker 1: from people, so from the hundreds that I've heard it for,

  Speaker 1: that could represent thousands for all I know. So if

  Speaker 1: I think somebody's counting on me, I got to try

  Speaker 1: to get there and give something. So today I didn't

  Speaker 1: have any time at all to think about what I

  Speaker 1: might say. I just walk right in and the jingle

  Speaker 1: was playing, and so I decided to just tell you

  Speaker 1: about my day and maybe you can relate it to

  Speaker 1: something you going through along the way, Because no matter

  Speaker 1: who you are, you're going to have some moment man,

  Speaker 1: where things are going to happen. And like I always

  Speaker 1: tell my kids, and I just had this conversation with

  Speaker 1: my little girl, it ain't that things ain't gonna happen.

  Speaker 1: It's how you handle what happens that matters. But it
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: don't matter. It's how you handle what happens that's the
• 3:16
  Speaker 1: determining factor on where you get in life and how
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: soon you get there and how long you stay there.

  Speaker 1: That will always be a mishap. Something that's gonna throw

  Speaker 1: you off. There will always be something man that could

  Speaker 1: deter you. That will be something somewhere man that will

  Speaker 1: make you doubt it. Now that you know that's gonna happen,

  Speaker 1: then let's talk about how you handle what happens, because

  Speaker 1: it's going to happen. So now, what do you do

  Speaker 1: as a person when these moments come about in your life?

  Speaker 1: How do you handle? Oh? Woe is me? Oh, I

  Speaker 1: guess it wasn't meant to be. Well. If the Lord

  Speaker 1: wanted me to have this, I'd have that. How many

  Speaker 1: damn many times you hear people say that, You know

  Speaker 1: it really irks me. Man, Stop using God as your excuse.

  Speaker 1: God ain't no excuse. God is a reason. He's a
• 4:09
  Speaker 1: reason why the good happens. He's a reason. He's not

  Speaker 1: an excuse. God don't have no excuses, and none of
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: his scriptures or writings not that He just don't make excuses.

  Speaker 1: I would have done this. But you know there's a
• 4:26
  Speaker 1: scripture that says the poor will all shall always be
• 4:29
  Speaker 1: amongst us. Why that's got to be you. Yeah, he
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: said the poor will always be amongst us, Because you
• 4:35
  Speaker 1: know everybody ain't gonna follow the principles of success. But
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: he also said he came to give you life and
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: give it to you more abundantly. He said that too,

  Speaker 1: But oh no, you don't want to hear that because

  Speaker 1: your life kind of trip it out a little bit.

  Speaker 1: So now what you do with it? Now you twist
• 4:49
  Speaker 1: it and you go to that one little scripture that say, well,
• 4:53
  Speaker 1: the poor shall always be amongst us. Well, that's put
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: in there because that suggests in case, see that's a
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: just in case y'all don't want to follow the scriptures.

  Speaker 1: That's just in case you don't understand that faith without
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: works is dead. That's just in case you have not

  Speaker 1: because you ask. Now, it's just in case you don't believe,

  Speaker 1: and shall not doubt he got all that in that.

  Speaker 1: But in case you don't want to do that, there

  Speaker 1: is a scripture that tells you what will happen if

  Speaker 1: you don't do it, And here it is the poor

  Speaker 1: shall always be amongst us. But then you get that

  Speaker 1: when they say, well, that's I guess that's the Lord's will.

  Speaker 1: Lord's will, really, really, really really that's amazing. I just

  Speaker 1: don't believe that about him. I don't believe that God

  Speaker 1: created your life. To be a life of misery. I

  Speaker 1: think that we make decisions along the way that cause
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: us to have lives of misery. But I really really

  Speaker 1: just don't believe that God created you for that. I've
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: heard Nelson Mandela speak, and you know you gotta go.

  Speaker 1: While all those years in prison, man, what was it about.
• 6:05
  Speaker 1: When you hear him speak, you understand what it was about.
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: He said, he always knew he would be free one day.
• 6:13
  Speaker 1: Now what he said he never knew was he said,
• 6:16
  Speaker 1: he never knew that he would be the president of
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: that country. Oh my goodness, what a long way around.

  Speaker 1: But he could have set there and got involved in
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: prison activities that wasn't up to Paw and things like that.

  Speaker 1: And they said whenever young inmates used to come in.
• 6:35
  Speaker 1: He was telling the story one time of how young
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: inmates used to come into the prison. They all sit
• 6:40
  Speaker 1: around and talk to him about what they were doing
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: and how many kids they had in their lives, and
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: it helped them keep track of it outside a little bit,
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: and it kept a sense of time for them, and
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: it reminded me to talk about what they left behind,
• 6:53
  Speaker 1: and it kept them going because something was greater on
• 6:57
  Speaker 1: the other side. Had he allowed that to stop him.

  Speaker 1: Had he allowed the imprisonment, which is a pretty major deal. Oh,
• 7:04
  Speaker 1: by the way, then guess what he would have never
• 7:07
  Speaker 1: been the Nelson Mandela that we know today, a martyr,
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: a leader, a great force. People want to go around him.
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: Even people that imprisoned him could not understand his staunch strength,
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: his faith, his unwavering commitment. They couldn't understand it. So
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: things are going to happen in your life, but it's
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: how you handle what happens doesn't matter. So keep pushing, y'all.

  Speaker 1: Don't let the little things get in the way, Okay,

  Speaker 1: And if you just sometimes you just don't know. I

  Speaker 1: got in a cab thinking I wasn't gonna make it,

  Speaker 1: but at least let's go see, let's try. I made it. Now.

  Speaker 1: Guess what that gives me? Another piece of information that

  Speaker 1: I have and all I had to see it again today?

  Speaker 1: Guess what I said today? Man, sometime when it looked

  Speaker 1: like you ain't gonna make it, just go ahead on anywhere. Now.

  Speaker 1: I could still be back there at the hotel talking

  Speaker 1: about where my car, but I got up in here
