- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Welcome to The Joy Jolt.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: I am Susan Patrick.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: And I am Natalie Ledwell, and I just remembered to record our session.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: That's what's so funny.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Right before we went live,
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: I just love those moments,
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: those very human moments of like, oh, I forgot to do this, right?
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: That was fun.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: We kind of jumped right in, jumped right in, having a good time.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: So welcome to The Joy Jolt.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: The world needs...
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: You need more joy jolts.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: So we're glad that you've found your way to this podcast.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: And we're excited today to talk a little bit about a subject that I think impacts
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: a lot of women.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: And it's that sense of really checking in with yourself to see
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: if you are taking responsibility for other people's happiness and joy.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: And if you are, we want you to stop it.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Stop it.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Stop it.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Just stop it.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Because I know that I have been doing that in the past, not so much now.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: And I think as a single woman,
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: it's easier for me to be a little bit more selfish and to focus on my own.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: Although I am,
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: I have a friend of mine,
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: a friend of ours actually, who lost her husband a few months ago.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: And so I've been,
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: even though I may want to go to the gym,
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: I'll go out for a walk with her around the marina and it does end up bringing me joy
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: as well.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: But I think that what I do is not at the expense of my own joy.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: And I think that was part of the reason that my relationship ended is because I had
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: so much on my plate and what my partner was asking for wasn't outrageous,
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: it wasn't ridiculous,
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: but I just knew that I didn't have it in me because I'm like,
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: I can't be responsible for your emotions and your joy as well.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: I have to look after myself.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: And so, yeah, so I ended that relationship so I could do that.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Because it literally becomes joy sucking and soul sucking.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: And relationships inherently, great relationships are generative.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And great relationships are generous.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: And great relationships lift you up, they don't pull you down.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: But it's so interesting to see,
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: I have a lot of friends who are single and married,
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: but I watch women operating on the planet at a deficiency.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: And they kind of think that's just how it is.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: I love my sister.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: She's going through a really difficult divorce right now.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: And she spent years believing that she could delay gratification.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Well, once the children are older,
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: once his parents,
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: they kind of move out,
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: once we get a different job,
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: I think that we subtly bargain with ourselves with the ideal future.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: And so it's that sense of I'll suspend what I need today because I think it's coming tomorrow.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: Well,
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: and I think also what you're not saying is that it has to be this even balance,
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: your partner,
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: your kids, everyone is giving to you equally and there's a reciprocation there.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: That's not what we're saying,
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: because there will be ebbs and flows and there will be times
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: where it will be unbalanced and when one partner steps up and the other,
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: you know, needs support and vice versa.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: But I think...
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: What my new, the new practice that I want to share with everyone.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: And I was talking to my friend, Tiamo, and he's actually setting up a Substack page.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: So he is going to, we're going to have him on soon.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: And he just wrote a book called Joy First.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: And in the mornings when I get up,
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: when I wake up, you know, I see the sun, I open the shades, I do the cold plunge.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: But then I ask the question, what's going to bring me joy now?
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Like, what do I feel like
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: doing now?
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: Now, it could be a walk.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: It could be the gym.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: It could be, you know what, I'm just going to stay and have a fabulous breakfast.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: It could be just that.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: But whatever it is,
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: it's like,
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: what's going to bring me joy in this moment that's going to help me feel good?
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: Now, he started doing that practice and he found that he was like 30% more productive.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: When he just went, well, what do I feel like doing?
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: He goes, and my days are only filled with things that I enjoy doing.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: That I like.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: And so what I love about Te Amo's concept,
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: so brilliant, joy first, because I think a lot of us are putting joy last.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Like joy is the reward for a hard day's work.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying that a hard day's work is bad,
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: but a hard day's work done in joy feels a lot different than just a hard day's work.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: We've looked at joy and we've kept joy as a thing that we're going to get at the end
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: of something.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: It's such a beautiful message to say, Put joy at the beginning of the conversation.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Make joy the priority.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: And so one of the ways that I do that in my relationship with my children,
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: with my husband, is that I really argue for my joy.
- 5:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: I bring it up.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you know what?
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: I deserve to feel good.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: You deserve to feel good.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: This doesn't feel good.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Mm.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: So what are we going to do?
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: I've been at your house.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: I've stayed at your house.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: And the rule, number one rule is fun.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Have fun.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Have fun.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Which I think,
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: I'm going to just say,
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: I think that is not a frivolous rule because kids are just little adults
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: that are emerging.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: And the truth is nobody likes rules, but everybody likes to have fun.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: And what I say about fun is that fun isn't fun unless everybody's having fun.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: So if mama ain't having fun, we're not following the rule.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: And we only have one rule and that rule is have fun.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Everything else is a regulation.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Because I don't think that people like rules for rules sake.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: And so it's that sense of how do you inspire?
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: And that doesn't mean my house is out of order and we don't do things.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: No.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Quite the opposite.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: being thoughtful in the morning,
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: even if you haven't had your cup of coffee is a requirement.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: You know, you come in, greet people, you say hello because it's more fun.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: You've got to follow the rule.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: See, I think the challenge is for many people,
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: which is why we decided to do our retreat down in Mexico,
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: which we'll talk about in a minute.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Real joy.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Real joy retreat.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Real joy.
- 6:44SPEAKER_02: Is that we have gone into a routine.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: We have gone into default way of operating and habits that,
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: we like if we're working,
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: it's like, okay, I have to be at the computer for eight hours.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: I need to be doing this.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: I need to like,
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: we have these old paradigms or old ways of thinking about how we need
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: to do certain things or how we interact with other people.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: And so you could be listening to this podcast and go, no, I like that.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: I like the idea of that.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: I like the sound of that.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: That sounds great.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: But then you go into your life and you go back into your default mode,
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: which is why having like a complete pattern interrupt,
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: a complete reset is important,
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: which is the purpose of why we put the real joy retreat together.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: And because we do need to interrupt that pattern and we need to take a stand for our joy.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: We're doing everything else for everyone else
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: and accommodating everyone else's schedules,
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: but doing something that's for yourself and the focus of it is your joy is one of
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: the greatest gifts you can give to yourself.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: I've really become very clear in this over the years is that I'm really more now
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: than ever seeing and holding my joy As sacred.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: And I also want to honor that it's my joy.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: I'm never going to give you my joy, Natalie.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: But what I can do is I can inspire you to connect deeper with your joy.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: So what I can be is I can be an advocate for other people's joy.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: But my joy is contained only in its mind.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: My joy is mine.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: And I can't give my joy away to try to have someone else.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: It doesn't go that way.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: You can become an advocate for someone's joy, but you cannot take responsibility for their joy.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: And that's one of the messages that's huge in my home,
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: that when my husband's having a bad day and we all have bad days,
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: you can say,
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry,
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: you're having a bad day,
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: but you need to figure out a way to get reconnected to yourself.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: I can't do that work for you.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: But I can advocate to say I'm seeing you be unplugged right now.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: But even being an advocate for your own joy and somebody else's joy,
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: you can't do that from an empty cup.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: No.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: You can't do that from a place where you are surviving and you're getting through
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: and you're just going through the motions.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: You know,
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: part of what we'll be going through and teaching at the retreat is how
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: to Carry your joy with you throughout the day because here is the point of it all.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: The journey and how we navigate the journey is the point of everything.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: That is the point.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Because we're always on a journey to somewhere.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: We're always,
- 9:41SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: even if we achieve a certain goal,
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: there'll be another goal that we set for ourselves.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: And it's not necessarily that we reach the goals.
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: That is the point of everything.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: It's how we travel along the journey.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: Is it a joyful journey?
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: And I think what's so exciting about the Real Joy Retreat experience
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: that we're hosting in Mexico is that we've really brought together a beautiful group
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: of facilitators who are going to be speaking to and inviting women into
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: and advocating for women to really access their joy at the mind,
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: the body, and the spirit, the soul level.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: And so looking at kind of the layers of where we can start and joy, you know, our definition.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Hopefully you know that if you're listening to a joy for us dance for just open yourself.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: You know, just open yourself to the possibility of really allowing yourself
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: and giving yourself permission to step away from What is the pattern,
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: the circumstantial drift of your life and take a full stand in your mind,
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: your body and spirit to just open yourselves to experiencing your joy in
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: a deeply profound and fun and playful and safe space.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 11:05SPEAKER_02: And that is what, you know, we are advocating for your joy at this retreat.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: You know, our request of you is that when you arrive, like we've looked after everything.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: You know,
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: your transportation from the airport to where we're doing the retreat,
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: the meals, all the activities, everything we've looked after.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: So our request of you is that when you arrive, you surrender.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: You get to a place where you are open,
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: just opening yourself
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: to the fun and to the pleasure and to the insights and to
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: the guidance and to everything that you will experience in
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: this time.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: And, you know,
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: it's not like we're hosting the retreat in an area that is really touristy
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: and everything.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: This is a private place.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: We pretty much have the place to ourselves, the beach and
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: everything to us pretty much.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: Except for all of the turtles that are laying their eggs on the beach that you get
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: to watch every evening.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: So we'll have to share the beach with the turtles as they're laying their eggs
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: and babies will be hatching.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: So it's a very alive.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: And just open yourself, just reopen yourself to who you are.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: So it's not changing who you are.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: It's not manipulating who you are.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: It's allowing more of yourself to occupy that space.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: And really, I love it because I see that joy.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: I see the O in joy as the opening that's just right in my heart space.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: I've got to, you know, that's my O spot.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: We've got a G spot and O spot.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: And what we'll also be focusing on at this retreat, and we're looking at mind, body, and soul.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: So part of it, especially, you know, my forte is definitely the mind.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: How we can, you know, visualize and imagine and reimagine what our next chapter can look like.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: But how to visualize that,
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: you know, effectively so that you're really speeding up that manifestation process.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Those beliefs,
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: those old programs,
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: everything that you may have thought about yourself,
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: I'm too old, I'm too past it, I'm too this, too that.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: We're going to deal with all of those thoughts.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: And I'm going to give you a little process that you take home with you so that
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: when these thoughts come up, you go up.
- 13:51SPEAKER_02: I see you.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: I know what you are.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: I know that this thought is not true.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: And these are the thoughts that I'm choosing to think instead.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: So, you know,
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: and it's not just for me,
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: it's not just the mind and how we reprogram our subconscious mind.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: So now we're going to be happier, healthier, have more fun than we ever had.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: But how we inject joy throughout our day.
- 14:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: And really taking ownership that your thoughts...
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: Your thoughts contribute to how the body vibrates.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: It's not making the thoughts wrong.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: It's just knowing that not all thoughts are true.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: It was really kind of interesting last night.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: I haven't even told you this,
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: but last night,
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: Jared and I, for whatever reason, we both woke up at 2.30 in the morning.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: And we just kind of both woke up.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: And at 2.30 in the morning, the mind is spinning.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: The mind is spinning.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: And I always say,
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: whatever I'm thinking about at 2.30 in the morning,
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: unless I really do some work then, could take me down a rabbit hole.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: And we were so awake that the two of us got out of bed and we went downstairs
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: and we were sitting on the couch.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: And it was funny,
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: we both were kind of looking at each other and it's like, so what are you thinking?
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: And it was interesting how both of us,
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: because his journey with holding his vibration and my journey
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: with really holding my vibration and my joy, we've become advocates for each other.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: And so it was interesting how we kind of allowed there to be space for the thought to come up.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: But then there was conversation around,
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: wait a minute, thinking we're in the midst of a really big remodel.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: And I think last night was the first time I got a little bit stressed about what's happening.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: And so I woke up.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: I think that was kind of what was going on.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: And I loved how my husband helped to soothe my vibration.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: He didn't manage my vibration.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: He didn't change my vibration.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: He just advocated for me not to indulge the thought that was agitating my vibration.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: And that's really what it is that we're wanting to create is how do you advocate
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: for your vibration?
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: And then you become an advocate for people around you and they can become advocates for you.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: How fun is it to live in a world full of people who advocate for your joy?
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: And then we have Dr. Diane Kays.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: Who is a doctor who is an advocate for optimal health in midlife and through menopause.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: She focuses a lot on, you know, our environment.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: What are the toxins that are keeping us sick?
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: Our gut health.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, our gut is our second brain.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: Yes, it is.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: And, you know,
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: and as we get to middle age,
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: you start to get that, you know, that little barrel kind of look.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: And she helps us to understand what's going on and how we can look after our health
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: in that respect.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: But how we can live optimally, you know, in this next chapter.
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: And then, Susie,
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: you've got us,
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: tapping into that spiritual side of us and some of the Experiences
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: that you've helped to curate and create down there are just mind-blowing
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: and heart-blowing.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and heart-blowing.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: You know, it's funny.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: I mean, I feel selfishly just so excited about what's being curated
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: because it's just basically all of my favorite things,
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: all the most magical things that I've had the opportunity to interact with
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: while I've been down here, living here for 11 years.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: This is not your average Mexico experience.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: We're gonna take you to spaces that,
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: take the average person living here some time to find and we're gonna,
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: we've put them all into one week and it's just gonna,
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: I know that it's gonna blow people's mind, body and spirit wide open.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: You know, that really is what it's about.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: And, you know,
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: this whole topic is about stop taking responsibility for everyone else's happiness.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: And one of the greatest ways that you can do that Is by giving yourself permission.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Giving yourself permission.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm going to give myself permission to do something that's totally and wholly for me.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: I don't have to explain it.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: I just get to choose it.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: It just feels right.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: It just feels right.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of times we try to explain to people what we're doing.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: It doesn't have to make sense in this time of your life.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: It doesn't have to make sense.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: It's in October.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: So those people, we still got four weeks, which is plenty of time to plan.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: But October 13th,
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: if it calls you and it feels like it's going to fill your cup,
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: that's all the excuse you need.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: How many times do we have to give ourselves a laundry list of reasons in order
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: to do something that is for us?
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and justifications and all of that.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: Not only that.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: And the other thing is that the other women that are also coming,
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, we've already filled six spaces.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: We don't have that many left.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're more than half, yeah, full.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: Just the connections that you have with other women who are going through the same thing.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: And I think a lot of times we suffer in silence because maybe we can't talk
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: to our partners about it.
- 19:13SPEAKER_02: We feel a little embarrassed to share with other people.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: And, you know, I went through a whole period of my life where I was like that.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: Now I'm just like, I'm talking about everything.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: And part of what I'm talking about is joy.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Part of what I'm talking about is my joy.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: I feel like sometimes we just, we kind of been guilted into not talking about your joy.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: And so this is an opportunity for us to be playful and And to reengage
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: with our life force and our energy.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: And that's the greatest way.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: You take responsibility for your happiness and be a stand for your joy.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: And then all of a sudden what happens is it really kind of pours out in the form of
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: an invitation rather than an expectation.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: And so invitation is so much easier to grab on to.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: Well, and, you know, and we want to invite you to come and join us in paradise.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: Come and join us in paradise.
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: I mean, it is stunning down there.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: And then,
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: like we said,
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: this is not about changing who you are,
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: but it is about understanding more about what makes you tick and how to go back
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: into your life.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: In a way that you can regulate your emotions and regulate your joy.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: How you can be a better mother, better wife, better sister, better girlfriend, whatever that is.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: And do it in a way where you are consistently filling your cup.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: It's not like you have to stop and...
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: Go, okay, I've got to schedule a certain amount of hours per day to be able to fill my cup up.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: No, we're going to send you back with strategies and tools and techniques
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: that you can be consistently filling your cup all the time.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: So life is not going to get less crazy,
