McIlroy on Track for Claret Jug | Odessa News
Rory McIlroy is flying high after a stellar 3-under 67 in round two, bringing his total to 1-under and firmly in contention at the British Open — just above the projected cut line. He’s clearly found his groove after a shaky 72 in round one, and with a major championship win at Hoylake under his belt, he’s got the experience and momentum to make a serious run for the claret jug. But don’t sleep on the leader — Lucas Herbert’s blistering 62 has him at 8-under, setting the bar high for McIlroy to chase. The real battle begins now.
