- 0:10Speaker 1: One last ride for the twenty twenty three fantasy football season.
- 0:14Speaker 1: It is another edition of the Stardom Cidam Show. Thank
- 0:17Speaker 1: you so much for joining us all season long. Thank
- 0:19Speaker 1: you so much for joining us today. I am Marcus Grant.
- 0:22Speaker 1: He is Michael F. Florio. He is the author of
- 0:24Speaker 1: the Stardom cidem column, which you can read at NFL
- 0:27Speaker 1: dot com slash start set. Uh. Do you feel he
- 0:30Speaker 1: added pressure for Championship Week?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yes?
- 0:33Speaker 3: Like I told people to start brees Hall great, I
- 0:35Speaker 3: told people to sit Jerome Ford and you could guess
- 0:38Speaker 3: which one mentions we're talking about more.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And nobody says thank you for the ones that you
- 0:42Speaker 1: get right, but they also let you know about all
- 0:43Speaker 1: the ones that you get wrong. By the way, if
- 0:45Speaker 1: you haven't seen, check out NFL Fantasy Live where David
- 0:47Speaker 1: and Joe who has a special message for our own
- 0:49Speaker 1: Adam Rank. That's all I'm gonna say about it.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Uh.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Anyway, we've got the top starts in since of week seventeen.
- 0:54Speaker 1: We're gonna tell you who's gonna pile up the points,
- 0:55Speaker 1: and Lawan Jones gonna stop by to help us give
- 0:58Speaker 1: out some end of season zero wards. Let's dive right
- 1:01Speaker 1: into this with your start sit quarterbacks for Week seventeen.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Who do you like Dak Prescott and what could be
- 1:07Speaker 3: a score fest? Matthew Stafford has been red hot, Kyler
- 1:10Speaker 3: Murray in a good matchup, and c J. Stroud is
- 1:12Speaker 3: back so he could be back for fantasy. The sits
- 1:15Speaker 3: two with tongue of II LOOA. Trevor Lawrence is just
- 1:18Speaker 3: beat up bad right now. Jacoby Brissett is on the
- 1:20Speaker 3: injury report him or Sam Howse sid and then Gardner
- 1:23Speaker 3: Minshew because the Raiders defense is revamped under Antonio Pierce.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah, they look way way better recently. Let's dive into
- 1:30Speaker 1: some of these individually. Kyler Murray, I mean, hasn't been great.
- 1:33Speaker 1: He looks like a guy who missed a good part
- 1:35Speaker 1: of the season rehabbing an ACL injury. But the Eagles
- 1:38Speaker 1: we have been picking on all season long. I don't
- 1:40Speaker 1: know why we stop now exactly.
- 1:43Speaker 3: And Kyler did bounce back last week with twenty Fantasy points,
- 1:46Speaker 3: his third time in his last five games reaching that number.
- 1:49Speaker 3: But like Marcus said, it's more about the matchup. The
- 1:51Speaker 3: Eagles have allowed these six most passing yards per game
- 1:54Speaker 3: this season, second most passing touchdowns, most fantasy points per
- 1:57Speaker 3: game to quarterbacks, Plus they generate pressure up front, which
- 2:01Speaker 3: could mean we see a lot more tucking and running
- 2:03Speaker 3: from Kyler Marray.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll see how things go. I kind of like
- 2:06Speaker 1: Rondelle Moore is like a deep sleeper in this one,
- 2:08Speaker 1: kind of for the same reasons there. You mentioned CJ.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Stroud is back after missing the last couple of games
- 2:13Speaker 1: in concussion protocol. I feel like just telling people to
- 2:17Speaker 1: start him more of a reminder than any sort of
- 2:19Speaker 1: actual analysis kind of thing.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I was originally going to talk up Russell Wilson, but
- 2:24Speaker 3: something happened there where he's not anymore, So we go
- 2:29Speaker 3: with CJ. Stroud, who, like Marcus said, is back, so
- 2:32Speaker 3: it's a reminder just to start him.
- 2:35Speaker 2: The ceiling is so high.
- 2:36Speaker 3: He still has the highest individual game of all quarterbacks
- 2:41Speaker 3: this season, where he scored over forty one fantasy points.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We saw the Texans be able to throw against the
- 2:46Speaker 3: Titans a couple weeks ago with case Keenum, who looked
- 2:48Speaker 3: terrible last week, so I expect much better results for Stroud,
- 2:52Speaker 3: especially with a healthy Nico Collins and a healthy Noah
- 2:54Speaker 3: Brown there as well.
- 2:56Speaker 1: To a tongue of Ailoa and the Dolphins offense. I mean,
- 2:58Speaker 1: it's been the talk of the league most of the season.
- 3:01Speaker 1: The weird part about that is that he has not
- 3:03Speaker 1: played well against good defenses. This week he's facing a
- 3:06Speaker 1: good defense in the Baltimore Ravens, and so I assume
- 3:09Speaker 1: that's why you say he's a sit.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It's partially why I say he's a sit. The other
- 3:13Speaker 3: reason is because well, Tua just has not been great
- 3:16Speaker 3: for fantasy as of late. His last time topping twenty
- 3:20Speaker 3: fantasy points was Week eight. In the last month, he
- 3:22Speaker 3: is giving you fewer than thirteen fantasy points per game.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Now he gets the Ravens. They've allowed they're in the
- 3:27Speaker 3: bottom three and fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. They just
- 3:30Speaker 3: shut down brock Purty and co there and Jalen Wattle
- 3:33Speaker 3: is out. Tyreek Hill is banged up, as is Raheem Mostert.
- 3:36Speaker 3: So because of all his weapons being banged up, the
- 3:38Speaker 3: fact that he hasn't been great for fantasy and it's
- 3:40Speaker 3: a tough matchup, I think you play it safe and
- 3:42Speaker 3: go with another option.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I mean, the way the Ravens shut down brock Purty
- 3:45Speaker 1: in the forty nine ers last week would make me
- 3:47Speaker 1: very concerned if I had to in a lineup this week.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Those are the guys throwing the football. Let's take a
- 3:52Speaker 1: look at some of the guys catching the football. Your
- 3:54Speaker 1: start sit receivers for the week.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Rashid Rice must start. I've been telling you to start
- 3:59Speaker 3: t Higgins for weeks now. I'm not shying away. In
- 4:01Speaker 3: Championship week, Brandon Nyuk and all of your forty nine
- 4:04Speaker 3: ers must star at options, as is Nico Collins. Since
- 4:08Speaker 3: this one spicy, we're going to talk about it. Stefan Diggs,
- 4:11Speaker 3: Drake London, Deontaey Johnson, and Joshua Palmer. If he suits up,
- 4:15Speaker 3: it doesn't matter.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Sit them.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, things are weird right now for the Chargers. We'll
- 4:20Speaker 1: see what happens, especially with Keenan Allen this week. D
- 4:23Speaker 1: and P's early in the weeks he has that heel injury.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Let's talk about Rashi Rice though, because he really has
- 4:30Speaker 1: been one of the bright spots in a Chiefs wide
- 4:32Speaker 1: receiver room that has been underwhelming to say the least.
- 4:36Speaker 1: We keep waiting for the big bag breakout game by
- 4:38Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes. Does that mean Rashi Rice eats as well? Yeah?
- 4:41Speaker 3: I think this is the week that Mahomes gets right,
- 4:43Speaker 3: and I think it leads to his top wide receiver
- 4:46Speaker 3: and light lately top target in Rashi Rice. So she
- 4:49Speaker 3: Rice has nine or more targets in five straight games.
- 4:53Speaker 3: And for a while we've been saying he brings a
- 4:55Speaker 3: safe floor. He's good for like eleven twelve Fantasy points
- 4:58Speaker 3: per week. We're seeing a high ceiling to go with
- 5:01Speaker 3: that as of late. So between the say floor, the volume,
- 5:04Speaker 3: the more upside. We've been seeing the great matchup because
- 5:07Speaker 3: they've allowed the most yards to wide receivers since week twelve,
- 5:10Speaker 3: and I think Mahomes eats.
- 5:12Speaker 2: That means you play Rashi Rice.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yeah, Rashi Rice really maybe challenging Travis Kelce for the
- 5:17Speaker 1: top target in the offense or maybe not. Stefan Diggs
- 5:22Speaker 1: very good receiver in a swamp right now. He has
- 5:25Speaker 1: been on the struggle bus, maybe even driving the struggle
- 5:28Speaker 1: bus at this point. So you're saying to get away
- 5:30Speaker 1: from him against the Patriots.
- 5:32Speaker 3: With a caveat a lot of people have been tweeting
- 5:34Speaker 3: me all week long like hey, I have this like
- 5:36Speaker 3: Puka Nakua ver Stefon Diggs, stuff like that. Go with
- 5:39Speaker 3: your other really good option if you have Stefan Diggs.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Don't sit digs for say George Pickens or Rashi Shied
- 5:46Speaker 3: or someone like that. It always depends on your options.
- 5:49Speaker 3: But Stefan Diggs seven point nine Fantasy points last week,
- 5:53Speaker 3: less than ten per.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Game since Week ten.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I know he had a long touchdown catch that could
- 5:58Speaker 3: have been that was an interception because it was underthrown.
- 6:01Speaker 3: But this is a third straight year where December is
- 6:03Speaker 3: the worst statistical month for Stefan Diggs. Now he does
- 6:07Speaker 3: have a history of success against the Patriots. He is
- 6:09Speaker 3: Stefon Diggs. He's going to break out of this eventually.
- 6:11Speaker 3: But again, if you have another solid option, that is
- 6:14Speaker 3: where you get away from Stefan Diggs.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And this is it really is nervous time for a
- 6:19Speaker 1: lot of folks with Stefan Dicks because it's hard to
- 6:21Speaker 1: make that decision, especially if you have two guys that
- 6:24Speaker 1: are sort of similar. We are just getting started here.
- 6:27Speaker 1: We're gonna talk some running backs and tight ends coming up.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Stick around for more of the Stardum Sidum show. Time
- 6:37Speaker 1: for some Week seventeen Starham Centum running backs. Florio go I.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Don't care about the matchup. You have to start your
- 6:43Speaker 3: lines running backs. Jonathan Taylor is a volume play against
- 6:46Speaker 3: the Raiders. Austin Eckler, Hopefully we get an air guitar
- 6:49Speaker 3: show this week. DeAndre Swift is a must start running
- 6:52Speaker 3: back this week, and I think ty Chandler remains in play.
- 6:55Speaker 3: TUPA Hubbard, if you have another option, I would try
- 6:58Speaker 3: to get away from him.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Khalil Herbert, it's a trap.
- 7:00Speaker 3: And AJ Dillon, I know he scored a touchdown last week,
- 7:03Speaker 3: still at less than eight Fantasy points.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah, man, AJ Dillon, Quadzilla. Just I don't know, man,
- 7:09Speaker 1: it's just frustrating. Let's talk about some of these guys
- 7:11Speaker 1: individually though, because ty Chandler, I don't know if the
- 7:14Speaker 1: takeover of the backfield is complete, but it's very much
- 7:17Speaker 1: underway there in Minnesota.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Yeah, even with Madison last week, he played sixty five
- 7:21Speaker 3: percent of the snaps and I know he only had
- 7:24Speaker 3: eight carries.
- 7:25Speaker 2: That's because they.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Were trailing the entire game pretty much and they were
- 7:28Speaker 3: playing in one of the tougher matchups for a running back.
- 7:32Speaker 3: But now he's going to get a favoral matchup against
- 7:35Speaker 3: the Packers, who've allowed these six most rushing yards to
- 7:37Speaker 3: backs this season, the ninth most fantasy points per game,
- 7:41Speaker 3: and it just could be a competitive game, especially with
- 7:43Speaker 3: it being a rookie quarterback. Look for a lot of
- 7:45Speaker 3: dumpoffs and I think they're going to try to establish the.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Run early on in this one. Yeah. I do think
- 7:49Speaker 1: we see a lot of ty Chandler in this one.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Love him in this matchup, Khalil Herbert. I don't know
- 7:54Speaker 1: about you. I want no parts of the Bears backfield,
- 7:56Speaker 1: mostly because I have no idea what they're doing in
- 7:59Speaker 1: the backfield right now exactly.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Last week was a big Herbert week. The week before
- 8:03Speaker 3: was a big Roashawn Johnson game. The week before that
- 8:06Speaker 3: was a big Deontay Forming game. It is a guessing game,
- 8:08Speaker 3: and it is not one you should put your fantasy
- 8:11Speaker 3: championship hopes on trying to guess right, especially in this matchup.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I know Khalil Herbert went off last week one hundred
- 8:18Speaker 3: and twelve yards a touchdown, but it came against the Cardinals,
- 8:21Speaker 3: who are the very best matchup for running backs. No
- 8:23Speaker 3: team allows more fantasy points per game to the position.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Now they play the Falcons, who have allowed one rushing
- 8:28Speaker 3: touchdown to running backs all season and the third fewest
- 8:31Speaker 3: fantasy points per game again. It is a trap. Do
- 8:34Speaker 3: not chase the points from last week. You missed out
- 8:36Speaker 3: on them, You're not getting them this week.
- 8:38Speaker 1: It is really a true hotthand situation, and that's really
- 8:41Speaker 1: a tough way to live.
- 8:42Speaker 2: If you guess right.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Congrats to you. I don't want to have to be
- 8:44Speaker 1: in that situation. Let's take a look at your start
- 8:47Speaker 1: sit tight end four week seventeen.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Sam Laporta. I know he's been up and down. There's
- 8:52Speaker 3: too much upside to get away though. Isaiah likely safe floor,
- 8:55Speaker 3: high ceiling, and Darren Waller will talk about I think
- 8:58Speaker 3: it's time to get away from Dalton Kincaid. Unfortunately Tucker
- 9:02Speaker 3: Kraft if you're deeper, going deeper, he's in play. But
- 9:05Speaker 3: I would ideally try to get away Kyle Pitts, I'm
- 9:07Speaker 3: done with the Falcons, and then unfortunately Tays some hill
- 9:11Speaker 3: that's where we are.
- 9:12Speaker 1: He's just done with the Falcons, like I never thought
- 9:14Speaker 1: we'd get there. Let's talk about Darren Waller though, because
- 9:17Speaker 1: we know Tommy DeVito to the bench, Tyrod Taylor is
- 9:20Speaker 1: the starting quarterback, and I just I like Darren Waller
- 9:23Speaker 1: at the start of the year. He obviously unfortunately got
- 9:26Speaker 1: hurt at some point. I just think volume, if nothing else,
- 9:28Speaker 1: sort of wins the day here.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's the thing. The Rams are a great
- 9:32Speaker 3: matchup for tight ends. They've struggled against the position.
- 9:34Speaker 2: All year long.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Right now they are top five and yards, touchdowns, and
- 9:39Speaker 3: fantasy points per game allowed to the position, their top
- 9:42Speaker 3: five and yards on the year, and in the last
- 9:45Speaker 3: month or so. And his best Fantasy game of the
- 9:48Speaker 3: year came in one of three games with Tyrod Taylor.
- 9:51Speaker 3: His fourth best game was also in that three game
- 9:53Speaker 3: span with Tyrod Taylor. So in a game where I
- 9:56Speaker 3: think the Giants have to throw the ball a bunch,
- 9:58Speaker 3: Darren Waller is in play. I told you he would
- 10:00Speaker 3: win you fantasy championships this year. It's just not how.
- 10:03Speaker 1: We drew it up, not the way you thought it
- 10:05Speaker 1: would happen, but it could happen. Nonetheless, I think you
- 10:07Speaker 1: mentioned Taysom Hill is a sit this week. I keep saying, like,
- 10:11Speaker 1: you can't really predict Taysom Hill. Taysom Hill just sort
- 10:14Speaker 1: of happens, but I don't know if it's gonna happen
- 10:16Speaker 1: this week.
- 10:16Speaker 3: There was a stretch where we were like, he brings
- 10:18Speaker 3: a very high ceiling and it's starting to look like
- 10:20Speaker 3: a safe floor as well. Then he missed that game
- 10:23Speaker 3: and it's just there's no coming back. It seems like
- 10:25Speaker 3: sit for Taysom Hill point two fantasy points he scored
- 10:29Speaker 3: last week in his last two games one point seven
- 10:32Speaker 3: fantasy points combined. Three rushing attempts in those two games,
- 10:36Speaker 3: two or fewer targets in each. He's not throwing the
- 10:39Speaker 3: ball as much. They use four tight ends. It was
- 10:41Speaker 3: a fun ride for Taysom Hill, but it is not
- 10:43Speaker 3: one you should hit your championship wagon too. Yeah, I
- 10:46Speaker 3: just you know, I think we always sort of knew
- 10:48Speaker 3: it was gonna end this way. There was just not
- 10:49Speaker 3: a lot of consistency with Taysom Hill and that Saints
- 10:52Speaker 3: offense pretty much all season long.
- 10:54Speaker 2: We are not done. It is time to hand out some.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Awards as we get to the end of the Fantasy
- 10:59Speaker 1: seas and Lawan Jones will stop by to help us
- 11:01Speaker 1: out with that when we come back on the Stardom
- 11:03Speaker 1: cidem Show. It's time for the Stardom Cinema Awards aka
- 11:13Speaker 1: the Startes and to help us hand out some hardware
- 11:16Speaker 1: at the end of the season. Here, Lakwan Jones who
- 11:19Speaker 1: you can't tell by the looks of it, he's actually
- 11:21Speaker 1: from New Jersey, despite the fact that everything he's wearing
- 11:23Speaker 1: says California on it, but on second home, Welcome to
- 11:27Speaker 1: the show, Welcome back to the show. I guess it's say.
- 11:30Speaker 1: So we each have three awards that we are giving out.
- 11:32Speaker 1: You can do the math. That's nine awards that we're
- 11:34Speaker 1: going to hand out here. So please LQ, you can
- 11:37Speaker 1: start us off.
- 11:38Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not being a homer here, but.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I think it's facts.
- 11:41Speaker 2: It's true.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Kyvirin Williams is the fantasy MVP man. At one point,
- 11:45Speaker 4: this guy was on the waiver wire backup to cam
- 11:47Speaker 4: Makers and thankfully the cam Makers and charl McVay toxic
- 11:51Speaker 4: relationship has come to an end. But he just showed
- 11:53Speaker 4: up and showed out. And like it's been a while
- 11:55Speaker 4: since we've seen Todd Gurley like numbers in the Rams offense.
- 11:59Speaker 4: So Selman back to call in the plays, having fun,
- 12:02Speaker 4: nice touch, adding Micha Lafloor to that office, and you
- 12:05Speaker 4: got to look at this offense now and how it's running.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Like I wasn't familiar with his game, obviously, I didn't.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Know he was so explosive.
- 12:11Speaker 4: I mean, like this guy is just putting up historical numbers, man,
- 12:13Speaker 4: And I think this opens up the conversation and him
- 12:16Speaker 4: as a first round pick next year.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Man, that is an interesting conversation. Maybe the back end,
- 12:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm just gonna say no right now, and
- 12:24Speaker 1: not not because he's not great and having a great season.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I just don't know that we draft running backs like
- 12:30Speaker 1: that in fantasy right now. Well, I'm down to have
- 12:33Speaker 1: my mind change. Between now and August, we can have
- 12:35Speaker 1: that conversation. He's the new Todd Gurley in a way.
- 12:38Speaker 4: In a way. Look at the numbers, it's there. I mean,
- 12:40Speaker 4: he's catching passes like girly. I mean, it's very exciting
- 12:43Speaker 4: as a Rams fan to see this run game get
- 12:45Speaker 4: back to where it needs to be at twenty seven vibes,
- 12:48Speaker 4: twenty seventeen.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Vibes for sure.
- 12:50Speaker 1: All right, all right, so we'll see. But Kyron Williams
- 12:52Speaker 1: right now is his vote off for the Fantasy MVP Florida.
- 12:56Speaker 1: What is your first award you would like to hand out?
- 12:58Speaker 3: The Odell Beckham Junior Reward for a rookie wide receiver
- 13:02Speaker 3: of a generation, because go look back at what Odell
- 13:05Speaker 3: did in twelve games his rookie year. No one will
- 13:07Speaker 3: ever touch that rookie pace. But there's someone who's coming
- 13:11Speaker 3: close this year. It is Pooka Nkua sticking with the Rams.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Look I know right now he's on pace to finish
- 13:18Speaker 3: with just about a little bit more than what Justin
- 13:20Speaker 3: Jefferson and Jamar Chase did as rookies. The difference is
- 13:24Speaker 3: we knew Jamar Chase for years before he set out
- 13:27Speaker 3: his final year of college. He was that enshrined as
- 13:29Speaker 3: a first round pick. We knew who Justin Jefferson was.
- 13:32Speaker 3: We were clowning the Eagles before Jefferson even stepped on
- 13:34Speaker 3: the field for not picking him. No One, no one
- 13:38Speaker 3: in their right mind thought Pooka Nakoula was gonna do this.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I loved Pooka Nakoula in the summer.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I would have settled for him being a wide receiver three.
- 13:45Speaker 2: He has a wide receiver one.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Even Pooka Nakula himself was like, yeah, I was working
- 13:49Speaker 3: on my blocking because I thought that was the only
- 13:50Speaker 3: way I was gonna get on the field.
- 13:51Speaker 2: And yet he is doing what he is doing. So
- 13:54Speaker 2: the Odell.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Starty of the Year goes to Pooka Nikoua.
- 13:57Speaker 1: You know, look, I'm not gonna lie. I drafted him
- 13:59Speaker 1: on some best ball teams, but it was end of draft, like, hey,
- 14:03Speaker 1: let me just I'm gonna throw this guy in here
- 14:05Speaker 1: just to see what might happen. I got back and
- 14:07Speaker 1: looked at some of those best ball teams. He was
- 14:08Speaker 1: easily the best CS. I don't know a lot of
- 14:11Speaker 1: those best ball teams this year. Yeah, it's been absolutely
- 14:14Speaker 1: amazing to watch. And I think the best part is
- 14:16Speaker 1: that Nikua did what he did and Cooper Cup was
- 14:18Speaker 1: still able to eat at the same time. And that's
- 14:21Speaker 1: maybe credit to Matthew Stafford, credit to Sean McVay and
- 14:24Speaker 1: what they've done with this offense. I'm gonna go with
- 14:28Speaker 1: the Chicken and Waffles Award, two things that you maybe
- 14:31Speaker 1: didn't think go together but ended up being way better
- 14:33Speaker 1: than you imagined. And while I don't have a current RAM,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I have a former Ram, Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans
- 14:40Speaker 1: because when Baker took over the starting job there in Tampa,
- 14:43Speaker 1: we all had jokes. Right, we're gonna talk about the
- 14:46Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield cycle about you know, plays bad, your taught
- 14:50Speaker 1: trash talks inferior opponent wins, so on and so forth,
- 14:53Speaker 1: and a lot of us. I know me, I know
- 14:55Speaker 1: Florio looked at Mike Evans and said, well, historak of
- 14:58Speaker 1: a thousand yards is probably gonna this year with Baker
- 15:00Speaker 1: mayfielded quarterback. Wrong that that was almost to one thousand
- 15:04Speaker 1: yards by like week seven. I mean, that's how good
- 15:07Speaker 1: things were with Baker and Mike Evans. Evans is a
- 15:10Speaker 1: free agent this offseason. We'll see what happens, but somebody
- 15:14Speaker 1: is going to pay this man big money, and let's
- 15:16Speaker 1: be real, Baker Mayfield has a lot to do with it.
- 15:20Speaker 1: So I will I will throw this out there for you, Florio.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Are we gonna go through another offseason where we just
- 15:25Speaker 1: ignore and downgrade and let Mike Evans slip to like
- 15:28Speaker 1: the sixth or seventh round?
- 15:30Speaker 3: No, cuse my look, you call this an early off
- 15:32Speaker 3: season prediction. I think he's still gonna be wearing red
- 15:34Speaker 3: and white next year, but he's gonna be catching passes
- 15:36Speaker 3: from Patrick Mahomes.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Oh spice, spicy, spicy. Indeed to you, lak On, what
- 15:46Speaker 1: is the next award you would like, the next starty
- 15:48Speaker 1: you would like to hand out?
- 15:49Speaker 2: Look?
- 15:49Speaker 4: You snooze, you lose man, because raheem mostered the season
- 15:53Speaker 4: he's having. Man, he is exploded on the scene. He
- 15:55Speaker 4: was just chilling those later rounds over summer, Man, just sleeping,
- 15:58Speaker 4: you know, with the expectation is Devon a Chan and
- 16:01Speaker 4: Jeff Wilson Junior returning and stuff. But you know he
- 16:03Speaker 4: was just, hey, I'm here. I'm thirty one, but you
- 16:06Speaker 4: know we're good and I'm still here being explosive.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Man.
- 16:09Speaker 4: This dude's top three in rushes of ten plus yards.
- 16:11Speaker 4: He's leading the league in touchdowns. What more can you say?
- 16:14Speaker 4: This was the biggest wake up call to the fantasy
- 16:16Speaker 4: streets man. And I think you opened the conversation earlier
- 16:18Speaker 4: this week Marcus about where do you draft this guy
- 16:21Speaker 4: next year?
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:22Speaker 1: And I think, look, I think most people seem to
- 16:24Speaker 1: have it right, like, this is the guy who's probably
- 16:26Speaker 1: gonna go fourth round or so, he's gonna be a
- 16:29Speaker 1: year older. This is a guy who before this year
- 16:31Speaker 1: did have a pretty extensive injury history. Davon ah Chan
- 16:35Speaker 1: is still going to be there. It's still going to
- 16:36Speaker 1: be in offense that's heavy with Tua and Tyreek. So
- 16:40Speaker 1: I think what he did this year was nice. Twenty
- 16:43Speaker 1: one touchdowns or however many, however many he ends up
- 16:46Speaker 1: the season over this season, it feels, I want to
- 16:49Speaker 1: say it, He's not gonna score twenty plus touchdowns next year.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I'm gonna go out on that limb.
- 16:53Speaker 1: So I do think people are sort of valuing him properly.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I do want to give kudos though, because back in
- 16:59Speaker 3: like May, in this very room on the podcast, we
- 17:02Speaker 3: said which Dolphins running back should you target? And you
- 17:05Speaker 3: two made such a compelling case for Raheem Mostert. He
- 17:08Speaker 3: was my most drafted running back this year.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I mean I honestly did it because it was the
- 17:14Speaker 1: perfect combination of like potential, production and value right because
- 17:19Speaker 1: he was the guy that was going the latest out
- 17:20Speaker 1: of everybody in that backfield. I'm like, still a good player, man, Like,
- 17:24Speaker 1: oh my god, I love to be like the RB two.
- 17:28Speaker 1: He's still a good player. Wins count the same, They
- 17:30Speaker 1: still count the same, all right, So though you snooze,
- 17:33Speaker 1: you lose, A word goes to raheemos or congratulations to him, Floria,
- 17:37Speaker 1: What is the next award you'd like to hand out?
- 17:39Speaker 3: The Kyle Pitts, Because if you remember back when Kyle
- 17:42Speaker 3: Pitts was a prospect and then a rookie.
- 17:44Speaker 2: All you heard about was this is the.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Generational tight end, the tight end rookie that is going
- 17:49Speaker 3: to end the streak that you can't draft rookie tight ends.
- 17:52Speaker 3: And he had a good rookie year, but you know
- 17:53Speaker 3: he's having a great rookie year.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Sam Laporta.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Sam Laporter right now is a top three fantasy tight end.
- 18:01Speaker 3: You hear all the time, Oh, rookies can't be tight
- 18:03Speaker 3: end ones.
- 18:03Speaker 2: This guy easily. With Hockinson hurt.
- 18:06Speaker 3: He has to outscore Travis Kelce this week and he
- 18:08Speaker 3: will finish the fantasy season as the tight overall tight end,
- 18:13Speaker 3: one tight end of a generation.
- 18:15Speaker 2: All of that. I've already said on the.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Podcast earlier this week that he is going to be
- 18:19Speaker 3: in the conversation to be the first tight end off
- 18:21Speaker 3: the board next year. I had him ranked as a
- 18:23Speaker 3: tight end one coming into this season. He was one
- 18:26Speaker 3: of my most drafted tight ends because you were able
- 18:27Speaker 3: to get him in the double digit rounds and I'm
- 18:29Speaker 3: sure you.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Guys have him on plenty of teams.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Those teams that have Sam Laporta, it's an immediate leg
- 18:34Speaker 3: up on the rest of your competition.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Laporta was another one, sort of like in the coup.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I think I drafted laport a little bit earlier, but
- 18:39Speaker 1: it was late and like he was a second tight end.
- 18:42Speaker 1: It's like I drafted a guy and I'm like, you
- 18:43Speaker 1: know what, I'm gonna draft Sam Laporta too, just because
- 18:45Speaker 1: I like him. And again I go back and he
- 18:47Speaker 1: was easily the best tight end on a lot of
- 18:49Speaker 1: those Bestball teams this year. He's so Florida and I
- 18:55Speaker 1: on the podcast reason we're talking about is he a
- 18:56Speaker 1: top three tight end? And that was before TJ. Hawkinson
- 18:59Speaker 1: got hurt for his ACL MCL. Does this mean, OLQ,
- 19:02Speaker 1: he's a top two drafted tight.
- 19:04Speaker 2: End Listen, I'm on board.
- 19:05Speaker 4: I mean, look, Jared goff Man, we see him target
- 19:08Speaker 4: him as like one of the top guys outside of
- 19:10Speaker 4: him an right saying brown. So you got to look
- 19:12Speaker 4: at the tight end pool and it's like some of
- 19:14Speaker 4: these guys are getting old and some of these young
- 19:16Speaker 4: guys are showing up, showing now in their first year.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Man, So Sam Laporter, I'm on board for the top two.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Would you take him ahead of Travis Kelcey? Absolutely? Oh I,
- 19:25Speaker 1: sir one hundred percent. This is this is the conversation
- 19:28Speaker 1: we have this offseason. Do you take Sam Laporta ahead
- 19:32Speaker 1: of Travis Kelcey. We got plenty of time to argue
- 19:34Speaker 1: this one. My next award, it's the Haley's Comment Award.
- 19:38Speaker 1: It's the player who burned bright and then just disappeared
- 19:41Speaker 1: from our lives. That would be Zach Moss. Right. I
- 19:43Speaker 1: didn't play Week one, he was hurt, had the broken arm.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I believe it was Jonathan Taylor was still trying to
- 19:49Speaker 1: figure out his contract situation with the Colts, but when
- 19:52Speaker 1: he came in in Week two just went bananas. In
- 19:55Speaker 1: the first few weeks that he was on the field,
- 19:57Speaker 1: Zach Moss was amazing, and even when Jonathan Taylor showed up,
- 20:01Speaker 1: Moss was still putting up numbers and eventually just kind
- 20:04Speaker 1: of petered out. And even midway through the season when
- 20:08Speaker 1: Taylor got hurt again, we thought, well, hey, Zach Moss
- 20:10Speaker 1: did great, let's put.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Him in the lineup.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Nope, it didn't really work out, and now has really
- 20:14Speaker 1: just disappeared. In fact, he has already been ruled out
- 20:17Speaker 1: for Week seventeen. Zach Moss was great early in the season,
- 20:21Speaker 1: just sort of kind of faded away by the time
- 20:24Speaker 1: it was all said and done. I don't even know
- 20:27Speaker 1: what really did say about it, other than they had
- 20:30Speaker 1: to be there. Yeah, you just had to be there.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I think that's probably the perfect way to say, you
- 20:35Speaker 1: just had to be there. If you enjoyed that Zach
- 20:38Speaker 1: Moss period of your life, look back on it with funness.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened, and
- 20:45Speaker 1: enjoy that in your fantasy roster. Meanwhile, LQ, this next
- 20:48Speaker 1: award maybe not so nostalgia.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Man, oh Man, come on, bro sky Moore.
- 20:54Speaker 2: What happened?
- 20:55Speaker 4: The expectations for him this off season were high, man,
- 20:58Speaker 4: I mean, like the off season height. I bought into
- 20:59Speaker 4: it along with other fantasy managers. We did not get
- 21:02Speaker 4: the return that we were hoping for. But like his
- 21:05Speaker 4: second year, we were expecting him to step up. You know,
- 21:07Speaker 4: of all seasons, how the Chiefs are playing right now
- 21:09Speaker 4: in that wide receiver room and what it is. We
- 21:11Speaker 4: thought he was going to be able to step up
- 21:13Speaker 4: and be at least a second or third option in
- 21:15Speaker 4: this offense. But I don't know what happened. I don't
- 21:17Speaker 4: know if it's he's running the wrong routes. The chemistry
- 21:20Speaker 4: is off no opportunity to get on the field, not
- 21:22Speaker 4: being utilized profitly, no offense. But whatever it is, Man,
- 21:25Speaker 4: it's just been bad. So I might be done done
- 21:27Speaker 4: with sky Moore. Man, this project might have to be
- 21:30Speaker 4: set to an end.
- 21:31Speaker 1: The sky has fallen in Kansas, that Kansas City.
- 21:35Speaker 3: We had Kadarius Tony's name to that as well.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Because that's just a general life career award, like he
- 21:42Speaker 1: get a lifetime achievement. Come on, it used to be studied. Yeah,
- 21:47Speaker 1: the sky Moore thing it is. I didn't draft a
- 21:51Speaker 1: lot of him, but I did start to buy into
- 21:52Speaker 1: the thing that he could be a guy this year.
- 21:56Speaker 1: And it just chalked that up as another in a
- 21:58Speaker 1: long line of really bad wide receiver draft picks for
- 22:03Speaker 1: the Chiefs. You go back, you look over the last decade.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Tyreek Hill easily the best of them. And even Tyreek
- 22:09Speaker 1: was what like a fourth or fifth round pick. He
- 22:10Speaker 1: was a later round guy. Nobody expected him to blossom
- 22:13Speaker 1: into what he has become. The Chiefs have really been
- 22:16Speaker 1: bad when it comes to drafting wide receivers, and sky
- 22:19Speaker 1: Moore maybe, look, she Rice maybe turns that around for
- 22:22Speaker 1: them before that, and again he wasn't really a high
- 22:26Speaker 1: draft pick, so we'll see how that one goes. All right, Floria,
- 22:29Speaker 1: you have one more award you'd like to hang a handout.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I've kind of celebrated players that I was high
- 22:35Speaker 3: on the last two. But part of this job is
- 22:37Speaker 3: also eating crows. So the turn my Headphones Up award
- 22:41Speaker 3: goes to Rashad White because.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Volume wins out.
- 22:44Speaker 3: All summer long, I kept saying, like, yes, I understand
- 22:46Speaker 3: this guy's going to get a lot of volume.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Early on, he is.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Very inefficient, one of the most inefficient running backs in
- 22:52Speaker 3: the league. He continued to be inefficient for much of
- 22:54Speaker 3: this season. I mean last week he averaged us in
- 22:56Speaker 3: two yards per carry, but it didn't matter because he
- 23:00Speaker 3: got so much volume. They started throwing him the ball
- 23:02Speaker 3: like Baker Mayfield was Tom Brady and that kind of
- 23:05Speaker 3: flipped a switch. And around like week six or so,
- 23:08Speaker 3: Rashad White went from being a running back that was
- 23:10Speaker 3: very disappointing to being one that was a potential league
- 23:13Speaker 3: winner and a top ten running back.
- 23:15Speaker 2: So I will take the l on.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Fading Rashad White. And if you drafted him against what
- 23:20Speaker 3: I said, kudos to you because it worked.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Out in a big way. I drafted him, but I
- 23:26Speaker 1: didn't draft him like, oh yeah, I'm excited about it.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know, you're the best guy right
- 23:31Speaker 1: now on the board. So I drafted. But I guess
- 23:34Speaker 1: this sort of applies to a lot of the Buccaneers offense, right,
- 23:37Speaker 1: I mean, like I gave the Chicken and Waffles Award
- 23:39Speaker 1: to Baker and Mike Evans because I don't know that
- 23:42Speaker 1: we had high expectations for the Buccaneers.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Gery ce Haynes is he deserves Canalys.
- 23:50Speaker 2: That's it.
- 23:50Speaker 3: He deserves a look at a head coaching gig because
- 23:53Speaker 3: he revamped Baker this year. Last year he revamped Gino Smith.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Guy knows what he's doing a little bit.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Apparently he's able to take sort of journeyman quarterbacks and
- 24:01Speaker 1: make them make them into a thing. Here. So the
- 24:04Speaker 1: last award that we're handing out it is the New
- 24:08Speaker 1: York Times Sunday Crossword Award. AKA, you're not going to
- 24:11Speaker 1: solve this one, Gabe Davis. There were a lot of
- 24:15Speaker 1: options here because I thought about George Pickens, he was
- 24:17Speaker 1: kind of the runner up for this award, but gave
- 24:19Speaker 1: Davis is the guy that we most could not figure
- 24:23Speaker 1: out this year. He was the Cardio King of the
- 24:26Speaker 1: Week on Fantasy Live at least four times this season.
- 24:30Speaker 1: The guy who just ran a whole lot and didn't
- 24:33Speaker 1: have any production to show for it. He had multiple
- 24:35Speaker 1: games with zero points. These weren't games where he was
- 24:39Speaker 1: hurt or inactive. These were games where he suited up
- 24:43Speaker 1: and ran a lot of routes and just didn't provide
- 24:47Speaker 1: anything statistically for the Bills or your fantasy team. I'm
- 24:51Speaker 1: old enough to remember a couple of summers ago where
- 24:53Speaker 1: he was like the flash point on Fantasy Twitter where
- 24:56Speaker 1: you sit all you do is just tweet the words
- 24:58Speaker 1: Gabe Davis and you would start off fight about whether
- 25:01Speaker 1: or not he was hashtag good or not. At this point,
- 25:05Speaker 1: he is what he is. He is the quintessential better
- 25:07Speaker 1: and best ball guy. If you are trying to start
- 25:10Speaker 1: him on a week to week basis, godspeed to you.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Because there are no analytics, There is no amount of
- 25:15Speaker 1: game film watching that is going to give you any
- 25:19Speaker 1: sort of clue as to win. Gabe Davis is going
- 25:22Speaker 1: to do things. And you're a Bills fan, you have
- 25:25Speaker 1: no idea, do you?
- 25:26Speaker 2: Nope?
- 25:26Speaker 1: Uh?
- 25:26Speaker 3: And The thing is, I think for his second straight year,
- 25:29Speaker 3: he's about to finish around where his ADP was. So
- 25:32Speaker 3: if you just looked at the end of the year,
- 25:33Speaker 3: you'd be like, oh, Gabe Davis, we haven't figured out.
- 25:35Speaker 3: And then you look at week to week and you're like,
- 25:37Speaker 3: this guy is the ultimate headache, the ultimate roller coaster ride.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I mean, you just I'm gonna I'm going back to
- 25:42Speaker 1: look at him right now, Right as I sit here,
- 25:44Speaker 1: I'm filibustering as I try to type in his name.
- 25:46Speaker 3: So I believe he's the top like thirty six wide
- 25:49Speaker 3: receiver on the year.
- 25:49Speaker 1: So he's got one hundred and fifty seven Fantasy points, right,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I mean I'm looking at his his game los Right
- 25:53Speaker 1: we won five points week two, twenty one, Week ten?
- 25:56Speaker 1: Are we three? Ten? Week four? Fifteen? Then twenty two,
- 25:59Speaker 1: then you'll three one, twenty three zero nine zero, twenty
- 26:05Speaker 1: two zero zero, twenty three. Like it's either all of
- 26:11Speaker 1: the points or none of the points. That's it with
- 26:14Speaker 1: gabad Or.
- 26:14Speaker 4: If he played Fantasy, would he play hisself?
- 26:16Speaker 1: We probably not? That is just crazy. If Jave Davis
- 26:23Speaker 1: were playing Fantasy, could gave Davis trade himself to someone
- 26:26Speaker 1: else or would they be like nah, bro, family friend, I.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Just don't know even there, like no, we can't figure
- 26:32Speaker 3: out though We're good.
- 26:34Speaker 2: So there you go.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Congratulations to everyone who want to start, unless it was bad,
- 26:37Speaker 1: in which case, uh sorry that happened to you. Anyway,
- 26:41Speaker 1: it's time now for club. He's the guys. We guarantee
- 26:44Speaker 1: WI score you at least twenty five Fantasy points this week. Lakwan,
- 26:47Speaker 1: who do you got this week?
- 26:48Speaker 4: It's been a while since I've been affiliate to get
- 26:50Speaker 4: a good cheese steak. So we're rolling with DeAndre swift
- 26:54Speaker 4: Man with the probably the best matchup he has this
- 26:56Speaker 4: season against his Cardinals defense, who are allowing the most
- 26:59Speaker 4: rushing arts per game and they're also top five and
- 27:02Speaker 4: mistackles on run play. So he's being set up with
- 27:04Speaker 4: a lay up here, and the Eagles have been really
- 27:06Speaker 4: leaning on him in back to back games. He's had
- 27:09Speaker 4: twenty touches, so the volumes there and the production has
- 27:11Speaker 4: been there. So I think he's set up for a
- 27:13Speaker 4: good situation here because it looks like the Eagles are
- 27:16Speaker 4: leaning on him in the ground game on the back
- 27:19Speaker 4: end of the season right now, and I know all
- 27:21Speaker 4: the Philly fans are screaming like, yo, run the ball.
- 27:23Speaker 4: So Swift has looked really good these past two weeks,
- 27:26Speaker 4: so I think twenty five points are definitely on the
- 27:28Speaker 4: table for in the grab.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Here's the thirty little secret.
- 27:31Speaker 2: They are running the ball.
- 27:33Speaker 1: They're running it a lot, just maybe not as much
- 27:34Speaker 1: as people want them to be. But they're one of
- 27:36Speaker 1: the run heavier offenses in the league over the last
- 27:38Speaker 1: three weeks. Florio, you got to bounce back, guys your
- 27:42Speaker 1: club dub.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Brock Purdy because look, I understand the vast majority of
- 27:46Speaker 3: you out there who have Brock Purdy, like myself in
- 27:48Speaker 3: the Fantasy Live League.
- 27:49Speaker 2: You're playing for third place.
- 27:51Speaker 3: But if you survived last week, like I am, facing
- 27:54Speaker 3: him in one of my championship games. I don't know
- 27:56Speaker 3: how the other person survives what Brock gave him last week,
- 27:59Speaker 3: but if you manage to get by and you're in
- 28:01Speaker 3: a championship game, you don't stop starting him.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Now.
- 28:04Speaker 3: The Commanders, they are a team we've been picking on
- 28:07Speaker 3: all week, all year. They allow a bunch of production
- 28:09Speaker 3: through the air, top two and Fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks,
- 28:13Speaker 3: and then the Niners are angry. Debo's gonna eat Ayuk
- 28:16Speaker 3: is gonna eat. Kittle will probably eat. We know CMC's
- 28:18Speaker 3: gonna get in on the fun, and the person who
- 28:20Speaker 3: gets the points for all of those tight end is
- 28:22Speaker 3: brock Party.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I love Rock Purty. I love the whole Niners team
- 28:26Speaker 1: to bounce back this week after kind of getting humbled
- 28:28Speaker 1: last week. Hey, this is gonna make you happy, though,
- 28:31Speaker 1: because my my guarantee is that Matthew Stafford balls out.
- 28:35Speaker 1: And not just because I sat Joe Flacco to start
- 28:37Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford in one of my championship leagues, but because
- 28:41Speaker 1: Stafford has been on absolute fire at least two touchdown
- 28:45Speaker 1: passes for six straight games. He is as hot as
- 28:49Speaker 1: anybody in the league. The Rams offense is as hot
- 28:51Speaker 1: as any offense in the league. The Giants defense looks vulnerable,
- 28:55Speaker 1: so I think Stafford keeps it rolling that that means
- 28:57Speaker 1: you can start obviously Cooper cup who Knacoup. I like
- 29:00Speaker 1: DeMarcus Robinson as a flex option this week. We already
- 29:04Speaker 1: know that apparently Kien Williams is the fantasy MVP Kwan,
- 29:08Speaker 1: So the Rams They're going to ram it. The Ramilly
