Man Charged After Child’s Death | Odessa News
A one-year-old girl died after a fall allegedly witnessed by her father, Braidyn Montoya, who’s now facing capital murder charges. Initially claiming she fell from a low bed while he played video games, Montoya later contradicted himself, saying she was asleep the whole time — a story undermined by witnesses and the fact that the bed was only 22 inches off carpeted ground. Arrested weeks later, Montoya is held on a $1 million bond as prosecutors prepare for what could be a devastating outcome for the child.
