- 0:01Speaker 1: It's Bailey the Kid. Cannice Lopez is her producer, who
- 0:03Speaker 1: is here. Happy Halloween.
- 0:05Speaker 2: We've been talking about the most haunted places in Texas
- 0:08Speaker 2: and this is according to some paranormal research in different
- 0:12Speaker 2: groups that have calculated all the things that they do
- 0:15Speaker 2: that Wow, there's a lot of activity in these particular places.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Number ten.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I like running them down and recapping them because some
- 0:21Speaker 1: of the places are here.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Number ten Old Alton.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Bridge, Denton goat Man's Bridge, which to me has got
- 0:29Speaker 1: to be I mean, one of the scariest.
- 0:31Speaker 3: I would never ever go there at.
- 0:33Speaker 1: All, and I've been there and it's definitely a place
- 0:36Speaker 1: where a lot of people go, and especially tonight, it's
- 0:39Speaker 1: going to be busy.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I mean it's no surprise.
- 0:41Speaker 1: They say if you knock on that bridge three times,
- 0:43Speaker 1: goat Man comes out.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Whether that's true or not.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I have definitely gotten the creeps there and have seen
- 0:49Speaker 1: things that have been weird. You know that people have
- 0:51Speaker 1: left behind stuffed animals, religious items.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Also very dark things too.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Was the other side of you know, not godly stuff,
- 1:03Speaker 1: almost you know, the devil type stuff. Number nine on
- 1:06Speaker 1: the list was six Flags over Texas, the Ghost of Annie,
- 1:10Speaker 1: the Little girl who allegedly drowned in the creek white
- 1:15Speaker 1: Rock Lake was number eight. Number seven, Baker Hotel, number six,
- 1:19Speaker 1: Texas State Capital, Number five, Flagpole Hill, which is here.
- 1:25Speaker 1: That one is terrifying. Number four, which was also here,
- 1:28Speaker 1: Majestic Theater.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't even know about that one. Get me either.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I knew some things about that, but they say, Carl
- 1:34Speaker 1: the owner, who you know, created the Majestic Theater, he
- 1:38Speaker 1: haunts this place. And also a guy who died of
- 1:40Speaker 1: a heart attack in the upper balcony haunts it as well.
- 1:44Speaker 1: You could see their spirits sitting in the theater at
- 1:46Speaker 1: all times of the night. Number three was Hotel Galvez
- 1:51Speaker 1: in Galveston.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Which Jan Dar was haunted. They do ghost just like
- 1:56Speaker 3: tours there.
- 1:57Speaker 1: That place is so legendary because of things that have
- 2:01Speaker 1: happened there, many deaths that have occurred there in Galveston.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Of course, with the hurricane back in the day, you know,
- 2:07Speaker 1: claimed a lot of lives, a lot of history, a
- 2:10Speaker 1: lot of death. That's the common theme. Especially with number
- 2:13Speaker 1: two on the list, which was the Alamo. How could
- 2:16Speaker 1: that place not be haunted. I know, like two thousand
- 2:19Speaker 1: people and soldiers died there. It's got to be haunted.
- 2:22Speaker 1: They say that's one of the most haunted places. That
- 2:25Speaker 1: brings us to number one.
- 2:27Speaker 3: They say, the most haunted place in Texas. Not here.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Where is it?
- 2:34Speaker 1: It's in Austin. I've been there. I've stayed there. It's
- 2:38Speaker 1: the Driscoll Hotel.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Oh did you scooter past that when we were down there?
- 2:43Speaker 3: I think we did and we did. It's I mean.
- 2:47Speaker 1: A gorgeous hotel, so beautiful. But they say very haunted
- 2:52Speaker 1: for many different reasons. I'll tell you one of the reasons.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I think it's haunted coming up. But I mean it's
- 2:57Speaker 1: been a hotel. It was open what in eighteen eighty six? Yeah,
- 3:02Speaker 1: I mean it's a gorgeous building, beautiful, they say. It's
- 3:06Speaker 1: said to be haunted by several spirits, each with their
- 3:09Speaker 1: own story and connection to the property. Among the most
- 3:13Speaker 1: famous is the ghost of Colonel Jesse Driscoll, himself, the
- 3:16Speaker 1: hotel's original owner, who is often reported in the lobby
- 3:20Speaker 1: and the upper floors.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Of the hotel.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Other notable spirits include, and this is the one that
- 3:26Speaker 1: freaks me out, the spirit of a young girl who
- 3:31Speaker 1: they say haunts the staircase there.
- 3:35Speaker 3: And that's because that's where she died. Oh, it was a.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Tragic accident that happened back in the day, and they
- 3:43Speaker 1: say that her her spirit roams the staircase and other
- 3:48Speaker 1: places in the hotel. I went there, I stayed there.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I've stayed there once. No, I stayed there twice. One
- 3:55Speaker 1: time I thought, you know what, why not let's go
- 3:59Speaker 1: on the stair cases.
- 4:00Speaker 3: See why why if I feel if.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I feel anything, or you know, or if I see anything,
- 4:08Speaker 1: Because what they say is if you go into the
- 4:10Speaker 1: staircase at the Drisco Hotel, one of the things two things,
- 4:14Speaker 1: you can often find little toys that are left behind
- 4:18Speaker 1: by her. You can also feel sometimes somebody playing with
- 4:24Speaker 1: your hair. If you're a female, why somebody trying to
- 4:29Speaker 1: give you pigtails? Or you can also they say hear
- 4:34Speaker 1: the sound of a bouncing ball, because she played with
- 4:37Speaker 1: a ball. And I don't know if that's how she
- 4:40Speaker 1: met her fate, if she was playing with the ball
- 4:43Speaker 1: and fell down the stairs. But so many employees say,
- 4:47Speaker 1: you can hear the ball. They find little toys all
- 4:49Speaker 1: the time. When I was in that staircase, I didn't
- 4:52Speaker 1: feel anything. I don't have a lot of hair to
- 4:54Speaker 1: play with. But also too, I got a very uncomfortable feeling. Now,
- 4:59Speaker 1: could that have been just me in a staircase alone
- 5:01Speaker 1: because nobody would go there with me? Sure?
- 5:04Speaker 3: Was I going to stay there long and figure it out? No?
- 5:08Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, the thing is, they don't say
- 5:11Speaker 1: she's an evil spirit. They say she's a youthful spirit
- 5:14Speaker 1: that's usually happy and playful, and sometimes she'll rearrange things
- 5:18Speaker 1: in rooms and whatnot. But I guess when paranormal experts
- 5:22Speaker 1: went there to the staircase, it was through the roof.
- 5:27Speaker 1: The activity they said was it was insane, was a
- 5:31Speaker 1: lot And yeah, that's one of the spirits. The other spirit,
- 5:34Speaker 1: they say, is the legend of a jilted bride, which.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Why is it always a bride? Yeah? Who?
- 5:40Speaker 1: According to the tale, a heartbroken bride took her own
- 5:43Speaker 1: life in the hotel after being abandoned at the altar,
- 5:46Speaker 1: and her spirit is said to remain in the bridal suite.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Guests have reported seeing a woman in a wedding dress
- 5:52Speaker 1: wandering the halls, sometimes weeping and appearing distressed, to the
- 5:56Speaker 1: point where other guests have went up to her asking
- 5:59Speaker 1: her if she needs help, and then she disappears. Sometimes
- 6:04Speaker 1: people from rooms all over the hotel have called the
- 6:08Speaker 1: front desk because they hear.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Person weeping and crying.
- 6:14Speaker 1: They've called the front desk and been like, hey, I
- 6:15Speaker 1: don't know what's going on, but there's someone crying. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: just don't know where it's coming from. And they say, oh, okay,
- 6:22Speaker 1: thank you. We get this call all the time.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Let's check out. Yeah, I'm out. I'm gonna go ahead
- 6:28Speaker 3: and head out. Now there you go, the most haunted place.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So if you're looking for a little spooky adventure, the
- 6:36Speaker 1: Drisco Hotel in Austin, they say, is the number one spot.
- 6:41Speaker 3: You know what I'll do today.
- 6:42Speaker 1: At some point, I'm gonna give you a full countdown
- 6:44Speaker 1: of all the spots so you can recap it yourself.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And if you're brave enough and crazy enough to go
- 6:48Speaker 1: to some of these spots, have a good time.
