- 0:03Speaker 1: Handles show on demand on the iHeartRadio app k AM
- 0:09Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Bill Handle here, good morning.
- 0:11Speaker 1: It is a foody Friday, as Handle Anything Friday. Some
- 0:15Speaker 1: of the big stories we are looking at. Former President
- 0:18Speaker 1: Bill Clinton is to be questioned today of his past
- 0:22Speaker 1: relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and looks like plus documents actually
- 0:28Speaker 1: show that Clinton travel on Epstein's private plane sixteen times.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We don't know if he was on the plane or not,
- 0:35Speaker 1: but there was certainly some connection. Yesterday it was Hillary
- 0:38Speaker 1: Clinton who had no connection to Epstein. It didn't matter.
- 0:42Speaker 1: The committee, Republican Committee was nailing her anyway. And Jewish
- 0:46Speaker 1: advocacy groups are suing California in the Educasement Department alleging
- 0:50Speaker 1: that the state ignored pervasive anti Semitic harassment of Jewish
- 0:54Speaker 1: and Israeli students in public schools. But they have a
- 0:57Speaker 1: defense and that is everybody hates the Jews, and Judge's
- 1:01Speaker 1: going to go, yeah, yeah, pretty much, that's true. You're right,
- 1:04Speaker 1: case dismissed, all right. The ongoing story of the La
- 1:09Speaker 1: Unified School District and Superintendent Alberto Carvallo now in March
- 1:15Speaker 1: of twenty twenty four, he introduced ed Hey here's ed.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Ed is an AI was an AI chatbot and it
- 1:23Speaker 1: was supposed to revolutionize how the districts dealt with students
- 1:28Speaker 1: and teachers, and it was going to put LA Unified
- 1:32Speaker 1: at the leading edge of school technology. The problem is
- 1:35Speaker 1: the project failed within months and was never fully launched.
- 1:40Speaker 1: So now here comes the deal. They're looking at the
- 1:43Speaker 1: deal itself. This is the FBI and Carvallo's longtime association
- 1:48Speaker 1: with this woman, Deborah Kerr, a Florida consultant who helped
- 1:53Speaker 1: sell the technology to the LA district, and that's part
- 1:57Speaker 1: of the FBI's investigation. And what set this story off
- 2:02Speaker 1: is early morning raids on Wednesday at Carvallo's home, his office,
- 2:07Speaker 1: and a home owned by care in Florida. So the
- 2:11Speaker 1: contract was signed with this Boston based startup called al Here.
- 2:15Speaker 2: We heard that in the news, but.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Behind the scenes, as the contract was was being set up, negotiated,
- 2:24Speaker 1: and signed, the company was collapsing and ultimately declared bankruptcy
- 2:29Speaker 1: and its owner was indicted on allegations that she defrauded investors,
- 2:35Speaker 1: and the charges against her were filed eight months after
- 2:38Speaker 1: she and Carvallo stood side by side of the unveiling
- 2:43Speaker 1: of the chatbot and that picture.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Well, it's not doing Carvallo any good.
- 2:49Speaker 1: And so now you have this expansion and the activities
- 2:52Speaker 1: and records of the Carvallo and Care looking at by
- 2:57Speaker 1: the FBI.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Now, interestingly enough, on this one.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Care, who was the agent who represented out Here to
- 3:09Speaker 1: actually Miami Dade, that school district of which Carvallo was
- 3:13Speaker 1: head of. She says that I'll here oser six hundred
- 3:17Speaker 1: and thirty thousand dollars and she is suing or is
- 3:21Speaker 1: a creditor.
- 3:22Speaker 2: So this thing gets a little complicated, but the.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Bottom line is Carvallo's relationship with Care and being part
- 3:29Speaker 1: of the negotiations and the signing of the all Here
- 3:34Speaker 1: contract which literally just collapsed. Carballo said he had nothing
- 3:40Speaker 1: to do with the signing. He was not negotiating it.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It was the school board. Don't know the answer to that,
- 3:46Speaker 1: And the FBI has said where at least sources with
- 3:51Speaker 1: knowledge of the event have said that it's Carvallo and
- 3:54Speaker 1: not the school district that's the focus of the investigation. Yes, sir,
- 3:59Speaker 1: yesterday there was a meeting of the board of LA
- 4:03Speaker 1: and the sole agenda item was public Employment, General Superintendent
- 4:09Speaker 1: of Schools.
- 4:10Speaker 2: That was it.
- 4:11Speaker 1: They were just talking about Carvallo. We don't know, by
- 4:14Speaker 1: the way, what's going on. So you've got the founder
- 4:20Speaker 1: of all here, Smith Griffin, indicted in November twenty twenty four,
- 4:27Speaker 1: and the hearings in her case have been repeatedly pushed back,
- 4:30Speaker 1: back back, and the most recent one came in September.
- 4:34Speaker 1: The prosecutor wanted some additional time to basically discuss a
- 4:38Speaker 1: plea bargain. That's what they're in the middle of doing.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Now here are the politics of this thing. The Trump
- 4:44Speaker 1: administration and Bill s. A. Lee or Sli, first Assistant
- 4:48Speaker 1: US Attorney for Southern California under Trump, is particularly focused
- 4:53Speaker 1: on fraud. Now the administration has been accused by various
- 5:01Speaker 1: political forces on the other side, the democratic side, that
- 5:07Speaker 1: the law enforcement arm of the federal government is targeting
- 5:10Speaker 1: perceived political enemies. Also former federal law enforcement employees saying
- 5:15Speaker 1: the same thing, Why would that, Why would they go
- 5:18Speaker 1: after Carvallo so diligently and to such a level. Well,
- 5:25Speaker 1: Carvallo has been outspoken in his defense of immigrant rights
- 5:29Speaker 1: with LAUSD, his criticism of Donald Trump, his opposition to
- 5:36Speaker 1: the administration's opposition to diversity equity inclusion programs. Now, on
- 5:42Speaker 1: the other side of it, the federal case against Smith
- 5:44Speaker 1: Griffin began even before Trump took office. So now the
- 5:47Speaker 1: question is are they going even further? Are they moving
- 5:50Speaker 1: ahead where they have dropped the investigation? But for the
- 5:54Speaker 1: fact that Carvallo is anti Trump, don't know the answer
- 5:58Speaker 1: to that. I do know that the President the administration
- 6:01Speaker 1: is going after perceived enemies. There is no question. I
- 6:04Speaker 1: don't know who doesn't think that's the case. Where it's
- 6:08Speaker 1: very selective enforcement, there's no question. As I've said over
- 6:11Speaker 1: and over again, well let me put it this way.
- 6:14Speaker 1: You're going to see the agents, the immigration agents, the
- 6:17Speaker 1: ICE agents, border patrol agents, who have been shooting people
- 6:20Speaker 1: and violating all rights. They are all going to be cleared.
- 6:24Speaker 1: As far as Christy Gnoam is concerned, she's never walked
- 6:28Speaker 1: back her statements that Renee Good and Richard or yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 1: Richard pretty were domestic terrorists who were there to kill
- 6:41Speaker 1: ICE agents.
- 6:42Speaker 2: She's never walked that back.
- 6:45Speaker 1: And so you'll see ICE agents absolutely being.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Well, their position will be validated. It was a legitimate shooting.
- 6:57Speaker 1: The people who protest against the immigration are all terrorists.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They're all there to obstruct justice. And here's a case
- 7:06Speaker 1: against Carvallo. And here's the problem. It may be totally legitimate,
- 7:11Speaker 1: it may be completely legitimate and would have and it
- 7:16Speaker 1: has no implications at all politically, and had Trump not
- 7:19Speaker 1: been there, still would have gone forward as such.
- 7:21Speaker 2: But look at this.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Every time there is one of these, the question mark
- 7:26Speaker 1: immediately comes up, Immediately, an investigation is tainted. And I'm
- 7:31Speaker 1: ending this with the best example I've said over and
- 7:34Speaker 1: over again.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Tom Holman, who is the czar, is the immigration zar.
- 7:41Speaker 2: There is a.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Video of him being handed money by an FBI agent,
- 7:47Speaker 1: undercover FBI agent, a cash of money, say fifty thousand dollars,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and Pam Bondi said, we have investigated it thoroughly and
- 7:55Speaker 1: we find no evidence to go forward with any kind
- 7:58Speaker 1: of prosecution.
- 8:00Speaker 2: All Right.
- 8:01Speaker 1: The latest chapter and probably the final chapter, in the
- 8:05Speaker 1: purchasing of Netflix, and that is what happened with Warner
- 8:12Speaker 1: Brothers Discovery. There's been a fight between Netflix and Warner Brothers,
- 8:20Speaker 1: and we're talking about the buying. I always get confused
- 8:24Speaker 1: here that Netflix was going to buy Warner Brothers, as
- 8:29Speaker 1: was as was Paramount owned by the Ellisons. Okay, so
- 8:37Speaker 1: what happened? Well, Netflix had the deal, right, I mean
- 8:40Speaker 1: they had the deal. The board of Warner Brothers said yes,
- 8:44Speaker 1: we're going for it, and Paramount comes in, Paramount sky
- 8:48Speaker 1: Dance comes in and says, no, we want to buy
- 8:50Speaker 1: it unsolicited hostile bid, which Netflix said, no, we've got
- 8:56Speaker 1: a deal, and you certainly had Warner Bers. They're saying, yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 1: we have a deal, we're selling to Netflix. Well the Ellisons,
- 9:05Speaker 1: well they don't take no for a an answer. You've
- 9:10Speaker 1: got Larry Ellison, who is one of the richest men
- 9:12Speaker 1: in the world, probably top five. His son David Ellison
- 9:16Speaker 1: is leading the charge here and has set up his company,
- 9:20Speaker 1: Paramount sky Dance, and he is moving into literally controlling
- 9:23Speaker 1: a huge swath of the media. And here is why
- 9:29Speaker 1: Warner Brothers Warner switch gears and went, Okay, we're gonna
- 9:35Speaker 1: go to Paramount. We're undoing our Netflix deal. Is because
- 9:39Speaker 1: the Ellisons want Warner and the Ellisons have billions of dollars.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And guess what else they have. They have the administration
- 9:48Speaker 1: on their side. And how do we know this, Well,
- 9:51Speaker 1: because an investigation was started by the administration of the
- 9:57Speaker 1: deal with Netflix and Warner somehow it is antitrust and
- 10:03Speaker 1: all of a sudden that's disappeared when Warners is now
- 10:07Speaker 1: being sold to Paramount. On top of that, over the weekend,
- 10:12Speaker 1: when Trump did his speech, the elder Ellison Larry Ellison
- 10:18Speaker 1: ended up sitting next to Lindsay Graham at the State
- 10:21Speaker 1: of the Union as his guest. YEP, it's all over
- 10:26Speaker 1: the place now. Warner Brothers said after looking at the
- 10:31Speaker 1: offer that the deal from Paramount is a superior proposal,
- 10:35Speaker 1: which it is. They're offering more money. And originally when
- 10:38Speaker 1: they were considering Paramount, they said, Paramount's bid, we don't
- 10:42Speaker 1: care because there's no guarantees here. And that's when Larry
- 10:45Speaker 1: Elson came in and said, okay, I'll guarantee it personally,
- 10:47Speaker 1: and all of a sudden that changed everything. And the
- 10:50Speaker 1: problem is is now the politics have come into it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Susan Rice is on the board, is on the board
- 10:59Speaker 1: of Warner and she is not a big friend of
- 11:02Speaker 1: Donald Trump. She is, i would say, an enemy, one
- 11:07Speaker 1: of those that would be a perceived enemy. She doesn't
- 11:09Speaker 1: talk very well of him. Over the weekend, President Trump
- 11:12Speaker 1: threatens Netflix if you don't fire Susan Rice, from your board.
- 11:18Speaker 2: You'll be paying the consequences.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Okay, Now this is the president talking to a private
- 11:26Speaker 1: organization saying you fire this person from the board, or
- 11:30Speaker 1: you will pay the consequences. And the administration can stop
- 11:35Speaker 1: the deal cold. All it has to do is determine
- 11:39Speaker 1: that it is in violation of the Sherman anti trust laws,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and there the investigation starts in the government can say no,
- 11:47Speaker 1: and then you have an entire legal issue going on
- 11:50Speaker 1: for years and years. The bottom line is, of course
- 11:55Speaker 1: this thinks to high heaven. Naturally it does. And I
- 11:58Speaker 1: just hate, I just hate the politics of this. And
- 12:02Speaker 1: the Department of Justice opened an investigation determine whether it
- 12:05Speaker 1: was going to block Netflix's proposal to take over Warner
- 12:09Speaker 1: And now there will be no investigation of Paramount Skydance
- 12:14Speaker 1: taking over Warner Why because you've got the Ellisons who
- 12:17Speaker 1: control Paramount sky Dance. They are allies of the President
- 12:22Speaker 1: of the administration.
- 12:24Speaker 2: So this is going to go through.
- 12:26Speaker 1: By the way, over the weekend, the President said he
- 12:29Speaker 1: would stay out of the Netflix versus Paramount battle, but
- 12:35Speaker 1: since he said that in a social media post, he
- 12:38Speaker 1: said Netflix must immediately big capital letters on immediately fire
- 12:43Speaker 1: Rice from its board.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Okay, doesn't stop, does it, man, it just doesn't stop.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Boa And by the way, if this deal goes through
- 12:53Speaker 1: and it's going to the Ellisons are going to own
- 12:56Speaker 1: an insane amount of influence. They're going to have a
- 13:00Speaker 1: just a crazy amount of infinities. Also, they're probably going
- 13:02Speaker 1: to go for CNN, and they're going to go for CBS,
- 13:07Speaker 1: which is part of it. They have that it's going
- 13:10Speaker 1: to go. You're going to see probably the most powerful
- 13:14Speaker 1: group that is Paramount Sundance owned by the Ellisons, the
- 13:18Speaker 1: most influential group in news in the country. Also, you know,
- 13:22Speaker 1: you've got Superman and you've got Batman as part of
- 13:25Speaker 1: this whole deal.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I mean, it's great stuff, isn't it. All? Right?
- 13:29Speaker 1: Here is something that we are doing in the United States,
- 13:33Speaker 1: and that is not holding the bit the rich and
- 13:36Speaker 1: the powerful and the politically connected and the politicos yes,
- 13:43Speaker 1: responsible accountable for their crimes. Easy for me to say.
- 13:45Speaker 1: For example, former Brazilian president Jaira bol Sonaro was convicted
- 13:50Speaker 1: of trying to overthrow the government in a January sixth
- 13:53Speaker 1: style coup. South Korea, Yun Suk yul has just been
- 13:59Speaker 1: convey it's going to do jail time. Marcin and Romanski,
- 14:02Speaker 1: former deputy Justice minister in the right wing Polish government,
- 14:05Speaker 1: is in hiding because the authorities are going after him
- 14:09Speaker 1: for misusing funds. The former Prince Andrew he of course
- 14:13Speaker 1: you know what happened to him, and the former UK
- 14:17Speaker 1: ambassador the United States has been arrested for the well
- 14:22Speaker 1: actually he was arrested for financial misgivings, but was investigated
- 14:28Speaker 1: to be involved with Epstein. So when you look at
- 14:31Speaker 1: Donald Trump, who is pardoning all of these high brow folks,
- 14:36Speaker 1: hey man, he is just the last player to come
- 14:39Speaker 1: to the game. I mean this goes way back and
- 14:42Speaker 1: actually started with the pardon of Richard Nixon by Gerald Ford.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Nixon was he was looking at going to jail, obstruction
- 14:52Speaker 1: of justice, I mean, big time. They had him and
- 14:55Speaker 1: he resigned and gerald Ford pardoned him immediately, And all
- 14:59Speaker 1: of a sudden, it looks like the pardons and the authorities,
- 15:03Speaker 1: the US government leaving all these bad guys alone. The
- 15:07Speaker 1: point is in overseas, people connected to Epstein are being nailed,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and corruption is being nailed. Here, corruption is great, corruption
- 15:20Speaker 1: is accepted when bad things happen to bad people. Here,
- 15:25Speaker 1: pardons come down the pike. Investigations are dropped. But that's
- 15:31Speaker 1: only for those that are very wealthy and well connected,
- 15:34Speaker 1: by the way. I mean, let's go back, Okay. The
- 15:36Speaker 1: Reagan administration engaged in blatant violations of federal law during
- 15:41Speaker 1: the Iran Contra scandal, and that is arms was to
- 15:46Speaker 1: be given to the Iranian regime because they were fighting
- 15:48Speaker 1: the bad guy, Saddam Hussein, and he couldn't use law.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Wouldn't let Reagan use federal money. Congress they passed the
- 15:55Speaker 1: law saying you can't do that. So what he does
- 15:57Speaker 1: is secretly use the finance to support death squads in Nicaragua,
- 16:03Speaker 1: and money then out of that came to the Iranians.
- 16:09Speaker 2: George W.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Bush HW pardoned all of the officials implicated.
- 16:14Speaker 2: In the Iran Contra when he came into office, just
- 16:16Speaker 2: pardoned everybody.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Everybody was okay with that because they were fighting, they
- 16:21Speaker 1: were fighting communism. Bill Clinton, as you know, light under oath,
- 16:24Speaker 1: was impeached, then was acquitted in the Senate and he
- 16:31Speaker 1: was convicted of perjury and a lot of American support
- 16:35Speaker 1: of that too, because they sympathized with lying about infidelity,
- 16:38Speaker 1: a very little known law by the way that was
- 16:41Speaker 1: not brought up publicly is that if a public official
- 16:44Speaker 1: does have a married public official does have sex with
- 16:48Speaker 1: someone other than his wife, then by law he cannot
- 16:51Speaker 1: admit it or tell her. I mean, it's just that simple.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I'm making that up, by the way. And then you
- 16:58Speaker 1: got the Supreme Court of Barack Obama, right, we're going
- 17:01Speaker 1: to look forwards and not backwards, does not hold accountable
- 17:05Speaker 1: one person responsible for the two thousand and eight financial crisis,
- 17:09Speaker 1: where pure fraud existed by bankers, no one got nailed,
- 17:15Speaker 1: and the Great Recession fraud, no one got nailed.
- 17:18Speaker 2: That was Obama.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And so the problem is you've got a Supreme Court
- 17:23Speaker 1: also that happens to like a criminality. I mean, what
- 17:29Speaker 1: the president did certainly in the twenty twenty election or
- 17:33Speaker 1: subsequent to the twenty twenty election and January sixth, and
- 17:36Speaker 1: all of it goes on. The Court has said that
- 17:39Speaker 1: the president is completely immune from any prosecution. Why because
- 17:46Speaker 1: it's if he's doing it in the national interests, then
- 17:51Speaker 1: he cannot be prosecuted. And did Donald Trump not try
- 17:55Speaker 1: to overturn the twenty twenty election as a national interest
- 17:59Speaker 1: because it was a rigged election? Well, the argument is
- 18:04Speaker 1: he certainly believed that, and he was going for that.
- 18:08Speaker 1: So the big and the beautiful and the powerful get
- 18:11Speaker 1: away with everything. All right, Now, we're gonna have fun.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Your spouse and you think your husband or your boyfriend
- 18:21Speaker 1: is a Neanderthal, well that may be truer than you think,
- 18:27Speaker 1: because it turns out this is science. Now I love
- 18:30Speaker 1: quoting science. Humans and Neanderthals stooped from time to time
- 18:34Speaker 1: when they lived in the same area. We're talking tens
- 18:36Speaker 1: of thousands of years ago, but we didn't know about
- 18:41Speaker 1: much who stooped, whom Neanderthal men stooping human women or
- 18:50Speaker 1: the other way around. So there's a new genetic analysis,
- 18:55Speaker 1: and here's some news. The pairings these stoopings were more
- 19:00Speaker 1: often female humans with male Neanderthals. Hasn't changed today, by
- 19:04Speaker 1: the way, Now, how does this happen?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Okay?
- 19:08Speaker 1: I did human women venture into Neanderthal populations like their
- 19:14Speaker 1: version of a cub fifty four? I'm going to get
- 19:17Speaker 1: in here. Were the Neanderthal males drawn to larger human enclaves.
- 19:22Speaker 1: That's one good looking babe, doesn't have that high brow
- 19:28Speaker 1: but still pretty good looking. Were the interactions peaceful confusing?
- 19:34Speaker 1: Were they violent? Was their rape involved? Were they secretive?
- 19:37Speaker 1: Hey baby, let's go around the corner. According to population
- 19:41Speaker 1: genetics expert Jinjiang the University of Michigan, hen he's looking this.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I don't know if we'll ever get a definitive answer
- 19:48Speaker 1: how this happened, because we can't travel back in time.
- 19:50Speaker 1: But this study is a study published in the Journal
- 19:53Speaker 1: of Science shows that whenever Neanderthals and modern humans have
- 19:57Speaker 1: made it, there's always been a preference for male neanderthals
- 20:01Speaker 1: female modern humans as opposed to the other way around.
- 20:06Speaker 1: How do they know this, Well, you look at DNA.
- 20:10Speaker 1: They can find stuff with DNA that is just crazy.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Who did what? How far back we go?
- 20:17Speaker 1: Didn't it isn't that has not DNA proved that man
- 20:21Speaker 1: mankind came from Africa?
- 20:24Speaker 2: And don't they have a patient zero at this point?
- 20:27Speaker 2: I think they do.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Now there's a whole bunch of science about chromosomes and
- 20:32Speaker 1: neanthrothol neanderthal DNA that I want to get into, and
- 20:36Speaker 1: the human genome that the scientists looked at and how
- 20:42Speaker 1: it got interspersed during a mating event, a mating event.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Two hundred and fifty thousand years ago. They tracked it
- 20:48Speaker 2: back that far.
- 20:51Speaker 1: So the most likely explanation for this combination of chromosomes
- 20:58Speaker 1: and genes go back to that era of Neanderthal and
- 21:04Speaker 1: human DNA, and the most likely explanation is they stooped.
- 21:10Speaker 1: That's because the way sex chromosomes are passed from parents
- 21:13Speaker 1: to children. And so Joshua Aiki, who studies evolutionary genomics, God, okay,
- 21:20Speaker 1: why not at Princeton University didn't even know there was
- 21:23Speaker 1: such a thing. Joshua says, I think they've taken some
- 21:27Speaker 1: really important steps Phillian missing pieces of the puzzle, which.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I don't understand why this is so important.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It's fun, but people are I guess it's a PhD
- 21:38Speaker 1: thesis Somewhere. When did Neanderthals and humans first start shopping?
- 21:46Speaker 1: Was there a kind of website that they could look at?
- 21:52Speaker 1: The simplest and the most likely explanation, according to Aki,
- 21:57Speaker 1: is not the result of a strictly Darwinian survival of
- 22:00Speaker 1: the fittest. The fact that Neanderthal has disappeared. It's really
- 22:04Speaker 1: a result of how we interact with each other, what
- 22:06Speaker 1: our culture, society, and behavior is like. And we're finding
- 22:11Speaker 1: out more and more about the Neanderthals. And they're not
