- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with I our radio. It's the almost famous podcast. We
- 0:08Speaker 1: are back for another episode. Breakdown. Ashley. You have bad
- 0:13Speaker 1: storms your way, so if we lose you due to
- 0:15Speaker 1: the storms, your electricity goes out. I'm on my own.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Are you ready to be on your own? I am
- 0:21Speaker 1: ready to be on my own, but I don't want
- 0:23Speaker 1: to be on I don't think my electricity is going out. Okay,
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'd rather have you here, Ashley. It's time to jump
- 0:31Speaker 1: into it. A episode that garnered a lot of conversation online. Um,
- 0:36Speaker 1: we're here to talk about it. Break it down. In
- 0:40Speaker 1: the past, Ashley, we have been criticized, sometimes pushed the
- 0:46Speaker 1: side because of our critique of Zach, and the critiques
- 0:52Speaker 1: on my end have been Han, I don't think he's
- 0:53Speaker 1: a bad dude. I don't. UM. I don't even think
- 0:56Speaker 1: he's a bad bachelor. I think it was an odd choice. Um.
- 1:00Speaker 1: And there's been moments this season where I feel like
- 1:04Speaker 1: I don't know necessarily what his intentions are when it
- 1:08Speaker 1: comes to why he gets rid of some women and
- 1:10Speaker 1: why he keeps someone them around and why he kisses
- 1:13Speaker 1: them in the midst of a really intentional conversation. Those
- 1:16Speaker 1: are all critiques that I give every bachelor, some of
- 1:18Speaker 1: the best yea to some of the worst. I will
- 1:20Speaker 1: say in this episode, we'll get to it for the
- 1:24Speaker 1: first time. I will actually be critical of Zach. I
- 1:26Speaker 1: want to give you that note again, well, like actually
- 1:30Speaker 1: critical of him saying, hey, I don't think I would
- 1:33Speaker 1: say this is the first episode where I'd say his
- 1:36Speaker 1: bachelor ness is it was not on display. Well, yeah,
- 1:43Speaker 1: I don't. I still don't think he's a bad bachelor,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and I still don't think he's a bad dude. I
- 1:48Speaker 1: actually think he is a really good bachelor. I think
- 1:50Speaker 1: he's really there for the right reasons. I think he
- 1:53Speaker 1: wants to find love. But two episodes at a rowna
- 1:56Speaker 1: actually and again will break it down later in the episode,
- 1:59Speaker 1: he has got m he has responded oddly to the feelings,
- 2:08Speaker 1: the confusion and the emotions of the contestants. And I
- 2:12Speaker 1: have some reasons why I'm on the contestants side here,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and we'll get to those here later on. But let's
- 2:18Speaker 1: start at the beginning of the episode. All right, let's
- 2:21Speaker 1: do it. All right, So they're in this place that
- 2:24Speaker 1: I want to call Andalasia or Um, what's the Princess Diaries.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I've never watched Princess Diaries, Princess of Genovia. What, Yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I know, Jessica says. Jessica and I just got into
- 2:38Speaker 1: this last week. Really, what's the odds? Well, I don't know,
- 2:42Speaker 1: but we're wanting to watch a movie. And she's like,
- 2:45Speaker 1: isn't it a night that you're in the mood to
- 2:47Speaker 1: watch Princess Diaries? And I was like, well, no, and
- 2:50Speaker 1: I've never seen it. And then I don't know when
- 2:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna be in the mood to watch a Princess Diaries.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But she says it's top five favorite movies for her
- 2:58Speaker 1: of all time. Oh wow, that's so sweet of you
- 3:02Speaker 1: to to maybe consider watching one of her top five
- 3:06Speaker 1: favorite movies of all time one day. It's okay. Jared's
- 3:09Speaker 1: the exact same way, with a walk to remember like,
- 3:11Speaker 1: he won't do it. I think he saw it once
- 3:13Speaker 1: when he was like an eighth or ninth grade and
- 3:16Speaker 1: he will never watch it with me. But anyway, it's
- 3:17Speaker 1: like Andalusia or like Genovia. This place I've heard of
- 3:21Speaker 1: it before. Where are we was Estonia? Estonia? It looks beautiful.
- 3:26Speaker 1: It really does look like some fantasy like Disney World
- 3:30Speaker 1: really does. It looks like a perfect place to find love.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I love that. Actually, there's so many parts of the
- 3:41Speaker 1: show now that being on it um and then watching
- 3:45Speaker 1: it as a fan, i just kind of like dismiss
- 3:49Speaker 1: or like I'm like, oh, that's ridiculous. You know when
- 3:51Speaker 1: they yell at Zach's name. Yeah, at the same place,
- 3:54Speaker 1: the most cringing thing ever. But the this is a
- 3:56Speaker 1: perfect place to find love still hits my heart. It
- 3:59Speaker 1: still makes me, still feels genuine to me. All Right, Well,
- 4:03Speaker 1: it's not a good place for Greer to find love
- 4:05Speaker 1: because of all people, she's the one that's caught COVID,
- 4:10Speaker 1: possibly from Zach. They say she's under the weather, but
- 4:13Speaker 1: later in the episode they confirmed that she had COVID
- 4:15Speaker 1: and she was like quarantining the entire time. So like Greer,
- 4:17Speaker 1: who was definitely on the shopping block this week, kind
- 4:20Speaker 1: of gets the sale through, not that she's participating at all,
- 4:23Speaker 1: she's not in this episode. But isn't it ironic that
- 4:28Speaker 1: the person that he probably would have eliminated, that he
- 4:30Speaker 1: feels like he could have eliminated last week is the
- 4:33Speaker 1: one that gets COVID from him, even though like I
- 4:34Speaker 1: don't think they've been physical at all. Yeah, you know,
- 4:37Speaker 1: there's yes, I do. I do think that's interesting. I
- 4:41Speaker 1: also think it's interesting now that like, what is the
- 4:46Speaker 1: formula or process to somebody going home after having COVID,
- 4:49Speaker 1: Because with Logan he just disappeared, He's gone yea, like
- 4:53Speaker 1: he gets covided last week? Sorry, bad luck. But then
- 4:58Speaker 1: Greer gets COVID and she he sticks around. Which whose
- 5:03Speaker 1: decision is that? Ultimately? Is that the leads decision? Is
- 5:06Speaker 1: that the show's decision? Do we really know? I don't know.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I think it's changed since Logan, But also I think
- 5:12Speaker 1: that Grier has been like more of somebody to consider
- 5:15Speaker 1: in this process than Logan ever was to either those girls. Okay,
- 5:19Speaker 1: fair enough, Okay, so let's go. Let's Oh my gosh.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So the first of course, we get the one on
- 5:27Speaker 1: one date card. It's for Charity, which is no surprise
- 5:30Speaker 1: since Charity's date last week was canceled. We're all happy
- 5:34Speaker 1: she's got it. But before Zach could pick her up,
- 5:38Speaker 1: he gets pulled aside by Kat who just is like, oh,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna go like take a little steal for a second,
- 5:46Speaker 1: like want to have a little private moment and this
- 5:50Speaker 1: is a huge part of this episode, which I think
- 5:53Speaker 1: is a little bit extra. She definitely sure, why extra?
- 5:59Speaker 1: And what I think it? I think it's extra on
- 6:01Speaker 1: Brooklyn's end. So it ends up being drama between Kat
- 6:04Speaker 1: and Brooklyn, primarily a little bit with Charity, but primarily
- 6:08Speaker 1: between Brooklyn and Kat. And and man, was Brooklyn revved
- 6:14Speaker 1: up by this move? She thought it was so rude
- 6:16Speaker 1: to pull him aside to sneak in alone time before
- 6:21Speaker 1: somebody else is one on one? Now, look, is it ideal? Now?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Is it a little bit rude? Sure? Are there any
- 6:29Speaker 1: aren't there supposed to be? No rules? Doesn't every lead
- 6:34Speaker 1: usually praise the person who steals them aside and is
- 6:37Speaker 1: aggressive to get alone time with them? It almost always
- 6:41Speaker 1: seems to go over well, especially in my opinion. I
- 6:44Speaker 1: don't know I was gonna say with a male lead,
- 6:46Speaker 1: but now I think about the girls too. I feel
- 6:48Speaker 1: like I feel like most leads appreciate when somebody takes
- 6:52Speaker 1: a little bit of a extra step to see them,
- 6:56Speaker 1: and that's what Kat does. And again, is it perfect timing? Now?
- 7:00Speaker 1: But should it be as big of a deal as
- 7:03Speaker 1: Brooklyn makes it seem? I don't think so. I think
- 7:05Speaker 1: Brooklyn is acting out of a lot of jealousy here.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I think she sees Kat as a major threat and
- 7:11Speaker 1: she wants to bring her down some way. That's my take,
- 7:14Speaker 1: what's yours, Well, it's nice to be pursued no matter
- 7:17Speaker 1: what you know. You're the lead. You often feel to feel,
- 7:20Speaker 1: I mean, from my experience, like you're on your own island, right,
- 7:23Speaker 1: You're staying separated from everybody else. You typically don't have
- 7:27Speaker 1: a lot of friends around you. You don't know exactly
- 7:31Speaker 1: how the women are feeling in the house, especially the
- 7:33Speaker 1: ones that you're very interested in. So it does feel
- 7:37Speaker 1: good to be pursued, especially by those that you really like.
- 7:40Speaker 1: And so I think there's one note here where if
- 7:44Speaker 1: it was somebody that he wasn't that into, I think
- 7:46Speaker 1: he maybe would have responded differently. Okay, but there's also
- 7:49Speaker 1: like nobody that he's not into now, which is kind
- 7:52Speaker 1: of crazy. I definitely thought in this episode, Ali, who
- 7:55Speaker 1: does get aliminate at the end, was the weakest link,
- 7:59Speaker 1: and then as well, those were the two like obvious
- 8:02Speaker 1: the iliminations in my head. But what I'm really finding
- 8:05Speaker 1: intriguing about this season is that he's so into these girls,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and I feel like everybody has a chance, and I
- 8:11Speaker 1: think the front runners are changing week by week. Anyway, Okay,
- 8:14Speaker 1: Ben continue, Sorry I am and I could be wrong
- 8:20Speaker 1: in this. I'm just typically in these situations that it's
- 8:24Speaker 1: like very gray. There's not a right and wrong. There's
- 8:27Speaker 1: not a procedure to Hey, was cast supposed to do
- 8:30Speaker 1: this or not? Was it inappropriate? We don't really know. Nobody,
- 8:34Speaker 1: you know, we'll all have our own opinions on it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: He was in poor taste, I'll say it's in poor taste,
- 8:38Speaker 1: I would I would say I always fall back on
- 8:41Speaker 1: the leads response. And so if Zach didn't want this happening, right,
- 8:45Speaker 1: this is a process, and this is I'll get to
- 8:47Speaker 1: this later. But the one thing I want Zach as
- 8:52Speaker 1: a fan of the show, as you know, as somebody's
- 8:55Speaker 1: watching it, to understand is this is a process for
- 8:59Speaker 1: all involved. Yes, he is the lead of the process,
- 9:02Speaker 1: but this is everybody's experience and everybody's adventure together and
- 9:07Speaker 1: he has to help cultivate that and care for that.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And so with this, yes, this is a process for
- 9:13Speaker 1: him and kat Zach if he wasn't into it, needed
- 9:16Speaker 1: to say hey, this is inappropriate this time. I like
- 9:19Speaker 1: you a lot, I'm very into this relationship, but I
- 9:22Speaker 1: have a date coming up and it just feels weird
- 9:24Speaker 1: to be doing this right before my date. If he
- 9:27Speaker 1: doesn't have a problem with it, him as the lead,
- 9:30Speaker 1: goes with it, and then nobody can really get upset
- 9:33Speaker 1: with anybody but Zach, because the girls are just trying
- 9:36Speaker 1: to figure out the best way to get his attention
- 9:39Speaker 1: like it. Yeah, And if he doesn't like that attention,
- 9:41Speaker 1: or if he feels like that's not fair to the
- 9:43Speaker 1: process in general, as the lead, then he has to
- 9:46Speaker 1: step up and say something. But the only person here
- 9:48Speaker 1: to get upset about is Zach. Very interesting, very interesting
- 9:53Speaker 1: take on that, and I agree with you, Brooklyn. It
- 9:56Speaker 1: gets feisty too. It's not just like, oh, did you
- 9:58Speaker 1: really have to do that? That That was kind of rude,
- 10:00Speaker 1: Like she wants to fight her with words, Yeah, agressive,
- 10:06Speaker 1: called her out with being aggressive, and it's like, Okay,
- 10:09Speaker 1: if somebody's gonna have an issue with the moment, like,
- 10:12Speaker 1: let it be Charity who's gonna be going on the
- 10:15Speaker 1: one on one. Let her be the one that's offended,
- 10:17Speaker 1: not use so desperately anyway, we'll get back to the
- 10:20Speaker 1: situation later. I think that there's like there's not a
- 10:23Speaker 1: lot of drama going on this season, which I think
- 10:25Speaker 1: we like. We like that there's no petty drama and
- 10:29Speaker 1: they're definitely going to like use this as a drama point,
- 10:32Speaker 1: which I didn't mind it, just because it truly felt
- 10:35Speaker 1: like that Brooklyn was irked. Anyway, Okay, like I said,
- 10:39Speaker 1: let's move on. Charity and him have a very nice
- 10:42Speaker 1: one on one. They there's not like a lot to
- 10:45Speaker 1: munition on it. You know, they go on a horse
- 10:47Speaker 1: drawn carriage. They play this game about like wife carrying,
- 10:53Speaker 1: which is apparently apparently a very popular sport in Estonia.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Do you believe that wife carrying? Yeah, if you google it,
- 11:05Speaker 1: Like no, I don't know if I feel like saying
- 11:07Speaker 1: it's a popular sport is overblown, Like I think it's
- 11:13Speaker 1: probably done, but I'm sure it's done a few places
- 11:15Speaker 1: in the US. Doesn't make it a popular sport. But
- 11:20Speaker 1: you keep going if we're an interesting date. H What
- 11:24Speaker 1: else did they do around town? Uh? I don't hate it?
- 11:28Speaker 1: Can I just say that though, Like I know that
- 11:30Speaker 1: they'll carrying or just like the little like carriage around town.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think carriage aroundtown is a nice type of date. Yeah,
- 11:36Speaker 1: I think the carriage around town, the carrying is is weird, right,
- 11:39Speaker 1: it's a risk, it's it's different. But what I don't
- 11:43Speaker 1: hate about it is I'm just glad the show is
- 11:45Speaker 1: finding new dates, like, yeah, new things. So outside of
- 11:49Speaker 1: if carrying your wife around is a sport or not,
- 11:51Speaker 1: or if it is a super weird concept or not,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I'm just glad the show is looking for new, creative
- 11:58Speaker 1: dates that are like that we can talk about here
- 12:01Speaker 1: in the podcast and be interested in and at least
- 12:03Speaker 1: have an opinion on, because half the dates, it feels
- 12:06Speaker 1: like nowadays are repeats and we don't even focus on
- 12:09Speaker 1: them anymore because they're repeats. So just happy that's something
- 12:12Speaker 1: news happening. I completely agree, And I really do like
- 12:15Speaker 1: these touristy dates. They're like kind of tourists doing the
- 12:18Speaker 1: things that the people there do, which I guess that's
- 12:21Speaker 1: not like new I guess they always try to incorporate
- 12:24Speaker 1: the culture in the date, but I like the way
- 12:26Speaker 1: that they're like touring around town together like he did
- 12:28Speaker 1: with Gabby last week in London. Then they go and
- 12:31Speaker 1: they take shots of something they think it's alcohol, but
- 12:35Speaker 1: there's like a ton there. It is alcohol, but there's
- 12:37Speaker 1: like a ton of pepper in it, and those like
- 12:39Speaker 1: the kind of like fun experiences together when you like
- 12:42Speaker 1: get grossed out together, or you know, you take shots,
- 12:46Speaker 1: like it's kind of more of like a normal date, right, Yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 1: shots on dates? Takes did you take shots on dates?
- 12:53Speaker 1: Would take a shot at date? Like especially something new
- 12:57Speaker 1: and interesting. I mean, I'm not gonna sit on my
- 12:59Speaker 1: first they was somebody in rip like six tequila shots
- 13:01Speaker 1: and be like, hey, you hang out, Yeah, but something new,
- 13:05Speaker 1: drinking a new experience together. It helps loosen it up.
- 13:08Speaker 1: It gives you something to talk about. So, yes, this
- 13:10Speaker 1: feels like a very normal, fun, healthy kind of first date,
- 13:16Speaker 1: if you will. Yeah, yep, bonding experience. So then they
- 13:20Speaker 1: sit down to dinner and they talk about how Charity
- 13:24Speaker 1: really like probably had an emotional, elite abusive relationship in
- 13:28Speaker 1: her past, her last relationship. She says, it's like she
- 13:33Speaker 1: feels like shameful about it and regretful, but it's made
- 13:36Speaker 1: her who she is today. She said she was really
- 13:39Speaker 1: just stuck in a vicious cycle of manipulation and the
- 13:43Speaker 1: relationship had some infidelity many times with somebody that she
- 13:47Speaker 1: knew obviously, just like a really horrible situation to be here,
- 13:52Speaker 1: be in. But now with Zach, you know, she's feeling
- 13:55Speaker 1: good and she's glad that she was able to get
- 13:57Speaker 1: through that conversation and she felt comfort did by him
- 14:01Speaker 1: and you know, gives her the rose feels very strong
- 14:05Speaker 1: with with Charity, you know, Um, all I can say
- 14:09Speaker 1: is that, like it's another one to kind of add
- 14:11Speaker 1: to the code. And I don't want to call girls
- 14:14Speaker 1: a collection, but like the bunch of people that I
- 14:17Speaker 1: feel like would be safe for weeks, but then you
- 14:19Speaker 1: realize that he's got eliminate, eliminate down to the top
- 14:24Speaker 1: four hometowns by next week. So whoever leaves next week
- 14:29Speaker 1: I think is going to be They're gonna be shocked
- 14:32Speaker 1: as a contestant and we're going to be shocked as
- 14:34Speaker 1: an audience. That's what we want though, right, I mean,
- 14:36Speaker 1: this is this is our ideal season right now, where
- 14:40Speaker 1: there is so many people that we know. You know,
- 14:43Speaker 1: this will be the first season in a while, Ashley
- 14:46Speaker 1: that I bet I could name five contestants from like
- 14:50Speaker 1: six months after the show's done. I could be like, oh, yeah,
- 14:52Speaker 1: you remember kat In Brooklyn and Charity an Aerial and
- 14:57Speaker 1: all these people from this season, because the cont testing
- 15:00Speaker 1: group is very strong, and I think the connections are
- 15:03Speaker 1: very strong and this is what we want. We've kind
- 15:05Speaker 1: of missed this, Like I mean, if you remember, maybe
- 15:07Speaker 1: two seasons ago, we were like, I don't know if
- 15:10Speaker 1: there's anybody here that we could see them with, which
- 15:13Speaker 1: is a very odd place to sit in. As you
- 15:16Speaker 1: get down to hometowns this season, I'm going, oh, I
- 15:18Speaker 1: see a lot of people I could see him with. Yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 1: that's so true. Like, think about these girls, these Top
- 15:25Speaker 1: I don't even know number we're at, like eight, let's
- 15:27Speaker 1: just call it Aaron without me counting, but all Top
- 15:30Speaker 1: eight would seemingly be like Big Paradise gets m interesting thought, Yes,
- 15:36Speaker 1: Big Paradise gets and very after Paradise gets like I'm
- 15:42Speaker 1: saying that when they get to the beach, I think
- 15:44Speaker 1: people are gonna be like, yes, Zach's season had an
- 15:47Speaker 1: incredible contestant group. Yeah, I agree. Okay, So like the
- 16:03Speaker 1: group date they go to a witch is a witches thing, Ben,
- 16:08Speaker 1: I feel like you weren't going to like this date.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I'm not really sure you're a witch fan um which
- 16:12Speaker 1: has intrigued me. I actually actually, um, I'm I'm intrigued
- 16:18Speaker 1: by which is for for wild reasons, right, I think
- 16:21Speaker 1: a lot of times they're um, there's a misconception, right,
- 16:26Speaker 1: and then you know the history of which is like
- 16:28Speaker 1: what makes somebody a witch and what doesn't and false
- 16:30Speaker 1: accusations of this. The whole history of people being witches
- 16:35Speaker 1: has just intrigued me with the stories, especially when it
- 16:37Speaker 1: crosses with religion, and so I'm more I'm not like
- 16:40Speaker 1: a not a witch fan. No, okay, because I thought
- 16:43Speaker 1: it was like a religious thing that you'd be like
- 16:44Speaker 1: not a witch fan. No, I mean, you know, for
- 16:47Speaker 1: for his uh much as a Christian I am, or
- 16:53Speaker 1: however you want to explain that, you know, my fundamental
- 16:55Speaker 1: side is not existing. And so I'm more just intrigued
- 16:58Speaker 1: with the history of and trying to understand their culture
- 17:02Speaker 1: and where they came from. So no, I'm intrigued. Um,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I mean like dark magics in general, like just I
- 17:10Speaker 1: don't understand it. I've never been around it, and so
- 17:13Speaker 1: I'm more I've an outsider, just interested. Are you cool
- 17:18Speaker 1: with like good witches though, like Linda, Oh yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I mean I'm cool with I'm cool. You're cool with
- 17:24Speaker 1: the witches. Okay, Well, do you believe in love spells?
- 17:30Speaker 1: Because I can't. I can't deny my sister and I
- 17:34Speaker 1: may have I wouldn't say conducted love spells, but something
- 17:39Speaker 1: of the sort. I've sat on a balcony and meditated
- 17:43Speaker 1: about someone while like a red candle was burning. Or
- 17:46Speaker 1: I've taken what we was called a love bath, which
- 17:50Speaker 1: is like you put red petals in the bath and
- 17:53Speaker 1: then you think about the person deeply. Oh my good.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I mean, there's so much about this thing I ask.
- 17:58Speaker 1: But that's not like gwitchy stuff, right, that's like the
- 18:02Speaker 1: power of your mind. Sure, you know, I mean, I
- 18:06Speaker 1: guess it is. You know, you go into it. What
- 18:10Speaker 1: is meditation? What is prayer? What is contemplation? Like you know,
- 18:13Speaker 1: prayer in a lot of ways, for me has always
- 18:16Speaker 1: been about meditating and contemplating on the good and the bad,
- 18:20Speaker 1: and the dreams and the hopes and where God I
- 18:23Speaker 1: feel like it is calling me to. So for me
- 18:25Speaker 1: as a Christian, like, prayer has looked a lot of
- 18:27Speaker 1: different ways. It isn't just me getting on my hands
- 18:29Speaker 1: and knees, crossing my hands and praying God, Thank you
- 18:31Speaker 1: for today. No, it's like a lot of it is meditation,
- 18:34Speaker 1: and I think a lot of that is like a
- 18:35Speaker 1: calling of the heart and getting your mind to a
- 18:38Speaker 1: place where, you know, well, helping your mind understand what
- 18:41Speaker 1: your heart is feeling. That's fair, that's not weird. That
- 18:44Speaker 1: happens in every faith tradition, just people call it different things.
- 18:50Speaker 1: I you know me personally, and maybe I'll be convinced
- 18:54Speaker 1: to this one day, maybe I never will. I am
- 18:56Speaker 1: not necessarily somebody that would invest any money into getting
- 19:01Speaker 1: U my cards read or getting a spell put over
- 19:06Speaker 1: me believing that that is doing something that is something
- 19:10Speaker 1: that I you know, I do think there is a
- 19:12Speaker 1: spiritual world, and I do think there's that stuff going on.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I just wouldn't do it because one it would you know,
- 19:19Speaker 1: I've read too much about that stuff, and then two
- 19:22Speaker 1: I just have never I'm good with my prayer to Jesus. Now,
- 19:27Speaker 1: that's not that everybody has to that. So no, I
- 19:28Speaker 1: am not a fan of spells. I don't believe in spells,
- 19:31Speaker 1: but that's just my own personal thing. So you don't
- 19:33Speaker 1: believe that Zach and these girls are falling more in
- 19:36Speaker 1: love overlooking at each other through a flame candle, No,
- 19:41Speaker 1: I do not, and if they that is there, that's
- 19:43Speaker 1: their their tasks this week. That's really the most shown
- 19:47Speaker 1: spell because of course the candle that blows out in
- 19:51Speaker 1: the midst of this gay is is the candle between
- 19:55Speaker 1: Jess and Zach and we just know going to this
- 19:57Speaker 1: group date that Jess is feeling very secure about the
- 20:00Speaker 1: fact that she hasn't had a one on one, which
- 20:02Speaker 1: at this point I feel you I was a wee
- 20:06Speaker 1: week are we are? We at week six? We're getting
- 20:09Speaker 1: pretty I think this is my week. I think this
- 20:11Speaker 1: is my week that I got eliminated. Okay, so then
- 20:13Speaker 1: this is the time where you look around the room. Yes, okay,
- 20:16Speaker 1: this is week six. You look around the room and
- 20:19Speaker 1: you're like, okay, so it's me and that other person
- 20:22Speaker 1: and we're the only ones that haven't had one on one.
- 20:23Speaker 1: So I kind of feel demoralized right now because I'm
- 20:26Speaker 1: obviously at the bottom of this guy's barrel. Um. So yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 1: you just feel insecure about being around all these other
- 20:32Speaker 1: girls that obviously have an upper hand of you, and
- 20:34Speaker 1: that like applies to everything in life, that like applies
- 20:37Speaker 1: to gym class. Right then it's a classic class like, yeah,
- 20:42Speaker 1: you don't want to be I mean, you don't want
- 20:44Speaker 1: to be picked last. I know there's listeners out there
- 20:47Speaker 1: who probably have a different faith or belief system than
- 20:52Speaker 1: I do. Here's something I a question I want to
- 20:54Speaker 1: ask you and listeners. You've been really good at DM
- 20:57Speaker 1: ing and Twitter messaging on some questions recently. What is
- 21:02Speaker 1: the difference here? And this is a question I'm curious about.
- 21:05Speaker 1: I don't know anything about this. What is the difference
- 21:07Speaker 1: here between looking into a candle and having things spoken
- 21:10Speaker 1: over you and having like you're kind of like mind
- 21:14Speaker 1: like in this certain place. What's the difference between like
- 21:16Speaker 1: that like a spell or whatever you want to call it,
- 21:18Speaker 1: a hypnosis? Like how do I know that I'm not
- 21:21Speaker 1: being like hypnotized or I'm going to use this word
- 21:24Speaker 1: but it's not the right word, but it feels like
- 21:26Speaker 1: the only word I can come up with, like manipulated
- 21:29Speaker 1: to fall more in love given you know this environment,
- 21:34Speaker 1: because the mind is easy to tweak, Like hypnosis is
- 21:36Speaker 1: a very real thing. I've seen people hypnotize. How do
- 21:39Speaker 1: I know that I'm not being just hypnotized to fall
- 21:41Speaker 1: in love with all these people? Or that Z don't know,
- 21:43Speaker 1: but one one time I played a game with Jared
- 21:46Speaker 1: and it said this game will make somebody fall in
- 21:48Speaker 1: love with you. And now we're married. When does that?
- 21:51Speaker 1: When does this spell like leave? Then? Like when does
- 21:53Speaker 1: it kick off? Is it just I don't know? But
- 21:57Speaker 1: if you look it up on Google, you look up
- 21:59Speaker 1: like the twenty questions to make someone fall in love
- 22:02Speaker 1: with you, and they're just increasingly vulnerable, like intimate questions
- 22:06Speaker 1: and the more you reveal yourself. Yeah, I guarantee you
- 22:09Speaker 1: googled it right before you had your first date with Jared.
- 22:11Speaker 1: What are twenty things I could say to make him
- 22:13Speaker 1: fall up me? I remember this day. This is so
- 22:17Speaker 1: vividly because I'd like to pretend like it was our
- 22:18Speaker 1: first date in real life, even though I totally manipulated
- 22:21Speaker 1: it on him. We've had an event, he had an
- 22:24Speaker 1: extra day in La. I was like, hey, do you
- 22:25Speaker 1: want to go to dinner in a movie? And you know,
- 22:27Speaker 1: like he thought, just as friends? Duh. Yeah. I was like, yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 1: well I took him to the most romantic restaurant got anyway. Okay,
- 22:35Speaker 1: So this is where we need to sit though, because
- 22:37Speaker 1: this is a moment with Jess and Zach that I
- 22:41Speaker 1: was kind of alluding to at the beginning, right just
- 22:46Speaker 1: and Zach Candle blows out she has concerns about not
- 22:50Speaker 1: getting the first date or a one on one date,
- 22:53Speaker 1: which she already knows she's not getting a one on one,
- 22:55Speaker 1: but she's you know, so she's feeling real stupid on
- 22:57Speaker 1: this group date as the only girl who's never had
- 22:59Speaker 1: a one And at this point, actually you had mentioned
- 23:04Speaker 1: that you were in this similar situation. Can you just
- 23:06Speaker 1: describe the feelings that you're experiencing as you sit around
- 23:12Speaker 1: the room and you go, I'm the only person that
- 23:14Speaker 1: hasn't gotten time with Zach. He either is not interested
- 23:17Speaker 1: in me or he's saving a very special date for
- 23:19Speaker 1: me one day, but that day hasn't happened yet, and
- 23:22Speaker 1: I'm starting to get and I'll let you fill in
- 23:24Speaker 1: the blanks. Oh okay, Well you feel obviously behind, and
- 23:30Speaker 1: then you feel like, oh, or all the conversations that
- 23:34Speaker 1: are happening on this group date so much more in
- 23:36Speaker 1: depth than what I'm going to have because we're still
- 23:39Speaker 1: like surfacing. And then we get to what Jess talks
- 23:43Speaker 1: about on the group date, which was something that I
- 23:47Speaker 1: definitely felt because the little times that you have with
- 23:52Speaker 1: the lead leading up to this point are like fifteen
- 23:55Speaker 1: minutes one on one tops, right, Yeah, so she probably
- 24:00Speaker 1: got like fifteen minutes during the daytime portion of the
- 24:03Speaker 1: day along with him, and that's like kind of like fun.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Right then the nighttime portion is when you're supposed to
- 24:09Speaker 1: be a little bit more intimate and vulnerable and talk
- 24:12Speaker 1: a little bit more about your life. But that's still
- 24:15Speaker 1: only fifteen minutes. So you're supposed to be like flirty
- 24:19Speaker 1: and like flirty and like fun but also connect at
- 24:25Speaker 1: the same time, all within fifteen minutes, and you're just like, Okay,
- 24:28Speaker 1: I'm having a hard time doing this. It makes me
- 24:31Speaker 1: The pressure is so on you to make like the
- 24:35Speaker 1: best fifteen minute impression, and you feel like there's certain
- 24:40Speaker 1: things that you're just not going to bring up because one,
- 24:43Speaker 1: it'll take too long, it'll feel weird if it's interrupted,
- 24:48Speaker 1: and then it'll just feel like out of place. So
- 24:54Speaker 1: just in general, everything feels like it's kind of like
- 24:57Speaker 1: out of place when you have a fifteen minute cover
- 25:00Speaker 1: station that can be interrupted at any time. So what
- 25:04Speaker 1: she was saying was like she was kind of like
- 25:06Speaker 1: waiting for that one on one to let herself out
- 25:09Speaker 1: and for him to see the real her, which I
- 25:13Speaker 1: can so relate to because I don't think that was
- 25:15Speaker 1: ever like totally myself. And it's so silly to refer
- 25:19Speaker 1: back to like eight years ago and Chris souls and stuff,
- 25:22Speaker 1: but like that's how it was. Like I just felt
- 25:25Speaker 1: like every little moment I had was like, oh, okay,
- 25:28Speaker 1: I'll try to be flirty. It was like always like
- 25:32Speaker 1: trying to be like flirty and fun and like never
- 25:34Speaker 1: really like getting into anything deeper. And that's why she
- 25:39Speaker 1: was like, I just need a one on one. I
- 25:41Speaker 1: just wanted a one on one and it's really sad
- 25:43Speaker 1: that I haven't had one because I don't think you've
- 25:45Speaker 1: gotten to know who I am at this point. And
- 25:47Speaker 1: then he makes it seem like she's she's too focused
- 25:55Speaker 1: on having a one on one, Like why would she
- 25:57Speaker 1: feel like she needed a one on one so bad?
- 26:00Speaker 1: It's very a very bizarre unfolding. Yeah, so here's where
- 26:05Speaker 1: my critique was at the beginning. And people will still
- 26:07Speaker 1: probably get upset that I'm too harsh on Zach, and
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm okay with that because I really am confident one
- 26:14Speaker 1: I've been there and Zach. Again, I want to preface
- 26:17Speaker 1: this was saying, I don't think Zach is a bad bachelor,
- 26:19Speaker 1: and I don't think he's a bad dude. I think
- 26:22Speaker 1: he is handling. And it goes back to our point
- 26:24Speaker 1: a few weeks ago. I think he's handling these tough
- 26:27Speaker 1: like confrontations in a very kind of harsh, ununderstanding, non
- 26:34Speaker 1: understanding way, and that makes me nervous. Here's my point
- 26:39Speaker 1: to this. I remember on my time on The Bachelorette,
- 26:42Speaker 1: and I've never said this publicly, and I just thought
- 26:44Speaker 1: about it last night as I was reviewing everything and
- 26:46Speaker 1: thinking through my thoughts and why maybe I felt a
- 26:49Speaker 1: little irked or why I was like, hey, this doesn't
- 26:51Speaker 1: seem fair or right. I've never publicly said this. I
- 26:55Speaker 1: always actually felt weird in this environment on the Bachelor.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Atte as a lead, it was a little different, but
- 27:02Speaker 1: on the Bachelor I always felt very uncomfortable for a
- 27:04Speaker 1: few reasons. One, it's a weird world. You're with a
- 27:07Speaker 1: bunch of like really cool people, very attractive people. You
- 27:10Speaker 1: always feel like you're competing for this one thing that
- 27:12Speaker 1: you barely see and that you hope one day works
- 27:15Speaker 1: out for you. You never know what to bring up right,
- 27:18Speaker 1: Like you just don't know what to talk about. You
- 27:20Speaker 1: don't know what to talk about because it is it's
- 27:21Speaker 1: a high pressure environment. The second piece, and this is
- 27:24Speaker 1: the thing I've never shared. I always felt just very
- 27:27Speaker 1: like silly about speaking sharing my thoughts on the experience,
- 27:33Speaker 1: because when they would have you into the like do
- 27:35Speaker 1: you really want a rose tonight? I would just feel
- 27:38Speaker 1: personally really weird about being like, oh my gosh, that
- 27:40Speaker 1: rose would mean so much to me. I just felt
- 27:42Speaker 1: weird about a rose being such a focus in my life.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I never I never in my life I understand that,
- 27:49Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I haven't thought about that for a while,
- 27:51Speaker 1: just being in that interview room before before rose ceremony,
- 27:55Speaker 1: how much does this rose mean to you tonight? It
- 27:58Speaker 1: means so much to me, It just doesn't. It never
- 28:03Speaker 1: felt comfortable to me. So I was a lot more
- 28:05Speaker 1: comfortable sitting with Caitlin at the time and talking about
- 28:08Speaker 1: our lives in her life and what she was dreaming
- 28:11Speaker 1: of and what this experience was. But at some point
- 28:15Speaker 1: she's had these same conversations that I'm asking her to
- 28:17Speaker 1: the same questions of with multiple different people, and so
- 28:19Speaker 1: I just felt uncomfortable and that uncomfortability led to some insecurity,
- 28:25Speaker 1: and that insecurity led to some doubts and confusion, and
- 28:29Speaker 1: then there would be moments where I was like, No,
- 28:30Speaker 1: this is a really fun, good thing that I'm experiencing here,
- 28:33Speaker 1: and I want to stick around. I just don't know
- 28:35Speaker 1: how to express it to Caitlin fairly. And I always
- 28:37Speaker 1: will say this what Caitlin Bristow did, And I haven't
- 28:41Speaker 1: been on any other Bachelor as season, so I don't know,
- 28:43Speaker 1: but I would say she did it as well as
- 28:45Speaker 1: anybody could. Is She never made those insecurities, or my confusion,
- 28:50Speaker 1: or my like laughter at the thought that I was
- 28:52Speaker 1: wanting a rose so bad ever, like something that was
- 28:56Speaker 1: my problem. She always made me feel comfortable expressing these
- 29:00Speaker 1: concerns and these doubts and these things in my head.
- 29:03Speaker 1: She would laugh with me, she would joke with me.
- 29:06Speaker 1: So this brings me to Zach. We've had multiple women
- 29:09Speaker 1: now express things that, yes, maybe he feels are silly,
- 29:13Speaker 1: but in their world they're a big deal. And instead
- 29:15Speaker 1: of sitting with them and hearing them out and saying, Okay,
- 29:18Speaker 1: why is it so frustrating to you that you haven't
- 29:21Speaker 1: gotten to one on one yet? Well, because I feel
- 29:23Speaker 1: like I want more time with you, and I feel
- 29:24Speaker 1: like you really need to get to know me outside
- 29:26Speaker 1: of these group dates. Well that makes sense, Like I
- 29:29Speaker 1: don't know if I know you yet. Tell me more
- 29:31Speaker 1: about this. He's just pretty much like in his own
- 29:33Speaker 1: head saying, I don't get it. This is something I
- 29:36Speaker 1: don't understand, and there's a disconnect now, and and I
- 29:41Speaker 1: just I think he's making I mean, we saw it
- 29:43Speaker 1: with Greer, like trying to bring up a simple thing
- 29:44Speaker 1: about trying to compare work with this experience. It's weird.
- 29:48Speaker 1: You're not always gonna have the right things to say.
- 29:50Speaker 1: And as a leader, it's everybody's process together. And the
- 29:53Speaker 1: whole point of I think being a lead is to
- 29:56Speaker 1: help people through the process so that you can get
- 29:58Speaker 1: to know somebody. And I think Zach's shutting these down
- 30:00Speaker 1: so quickly that to me, it's frustrating. That's my biggest
- 30:04Speaker 1: beef right now. Again, don't think he's a bad bachelor,
- 30:07Speaker 1: don't think he's a bad person. I just wish he
- 30:09Speaker 1: would lean in a little bit to understanding where the
- 30:11Speaker 1: women are coming from more than just being like, yeah,
- 30:15Speaker 1: you aren't seeing the way I do. And so I
- 30:16Speaker 1: don't get it. Yeah, he's like super intolerant to difference
- 30:20Speaker 1: and that kind of it could not feel good. Yeah, right,
- 30:24Speaker 1: And I want to just say you saying that made
- 30:27Speaker 1: me think about group dates and such and being in
- 30:31Speaker 1: Jess's shoes. When you are on a group your group date,
- 30:35Speaker 1: group group date, you are one like if you're not
- 30:39Speaker 1: a totally extroverted person, like I had to compete. It
- 30:45Speaker 1: feels weird to say again now with like a Caitlin
- 30:48Speaker 1: who is super extroverted, so funny, just like the life
- 30:52Speaker 1: of the party on a group date where it's like,
- 30:55Speaker 1: why would he even like look at me when this
- 30:58Speaker 1: girl is like lighting up the room. So you have
- 31:00Speaker 1: to compete with personalities like that. So when you're like
- 31:03Speaker 1: an introvert, when you're I guess what am I? I'm
- 31:06Speaker 1: an extroverted introvert. Even though I'm usually comfortable in like
- 31:12Speaker 1: a group setting, I like it to be a little
- 31:14Speaker 1: bit smaller, Like if it's a table of four, I'd
- 31:16Speaker 1: like I like to talk. If the table of six
- 31:19Speaker 1: or seven, I'm gonna probably sit back a little bit more.
- 31:22Speaker 1: So on these group dates, I'd find myself sitting back more,
- 31:24Speaker 1: which again makes you feel shy, and feeling shy can
- 31:27Speaker 1: often make you feel insecure. And then the other part
- 31:30Speaker 1: of group dates is the conversations that you usually have
- 31:33Speaker 1: don't really go to the real world you it taught.
- 31:37Speaker 1: You end up talking about like your bachelor you and
- 31:40Speaker 1: like how you're feeling in the group, and how the
- 31:43Speaker 1: travel's been, and like are you getting along with everyone?
- 31:46Speaker 1: And this has been fun? And it's just like all
- 31:49Speaker 1: that surfacing stuff. So those are just two reasons why
- 31:53Speaker 1: being on a group date you're not letting your real
- 31:56Speaker 1: self shine. So I just totally totally feel the insecurity
- 32:00Speaker 1: that Jess is feeling right now and her expressing that
- 32:03Speaker 1: to Zach and him being so confused by it and
- 32:08Speaker 1: non receptive. I just know that she is probably basking
- 32:13Speaker 1: in the fact that the Internet is really supporting her today. Definitely,
- 32:17Speaker 1: well yeah, and I mean at the time, Um, either,
- 32:22Speaker 1: he's just not that intour, which would have he could
- 32:24Speaker 1: have communicated a lot better, but he's not shown any
- 32:27Speaker 1: signs of that yet. That wasn't the case at all,
- 32:30Speaker 1: which she was like reception, Either, he's not that intour?
- 32:34Speaker 1: Was he lying when he said I'm very confident in
- 32:36Speaker 1: this and like I'm always I'm thinking about you often,
- 32:39Speaker 1: and I think he's just responding in a way that
- 32:42Speaker 1: doesn't feel like he's trying to relate with it. And
- 32:44Speaker 1: we can maybe end the thought here. But I wonder Ashley,
- 32:48Speaker 1: for you, um and you know, for me, I could
- 32:51Speaker 1: speak from my experience, but Jess has lacked any sort
- 32:54Speaker 1: of intimacy for weeks now, right like she has had
- 32:59Speaker 1: no intimacy. She might have had some intimacy see from
- 33:01Speaker 1: her friends, like some close connections, some good relationships, some
- 33:03Speaker 1: nice conversations, but when it comes to you know, the
- 33:06Speaker 1: reason she's there. She has not had any intimacy with Zach.
- 33:09Speaker 1: We might see them kissing a few times, but to
- 33:12Speaker 1: be honest, group dates are like an assembly line of dating.
- 33:16Speaker 1: The lead is sitting in some room and there's somebody
- 33:19Speaker 1: talking to him, and then the next person comes in
- 33:22Speaker 1: and sits down with him, and then the next person
- 33:24Speaker 1: comes in. It's an assembly line. Like there is no
- 33:25Speaker 1: intimacy on group dates. It is almost impossible to feel
- 33:29Speaker 1: any sort of connection to anybody when it is literally
- 33:34Speaker 1: an assembly line of dating, never knowing when that next
- 33:36Speaker 1: person's gonna want to walk around the corner and steal
- 33:39Speaker 1: you for a second, And so a lot of this
- 33:41Speaker 1: for her is you know coming I would imagine and
- 33:45Speaker 1: I want to ask you from your experience, from a
- 33:47Speaker 1: lack of intimacy, which leads to confusion about where they're
- 33:50Speaker 1: at in their relationship. So what's the question? You think
- 33:53Speaker 1: it's from a lack of intimacy, So like they don't
- 33:55Speaker 1: know each other enough to navigate this argument. Well, she
- 33:59Speaker 1: doesn't know. She does know where he stands. He can
- 34:01Speaker 1: say he's confident in it, he can give her all
- 34:03Speaker 1: the signs. But what she's really asking for that one
- 34:05Speaker 1: on one is Zach, are you in this or not? Like,
- 34:08Speaker 1: are you are you interested in me enough to have
- 34:12Speaker 1: an intimate moment with me, to sit down with me
- 34:14Speaker 1: one on one, to be in the same room as
- 34:16Speaker 1: me for multiple hours of the day, or are you
- 34:19Speaker 1: not into it? And I should just get out of here,
- 34:21Speaker 1: because at this point, I think she's wondering why she
- 34:24Speaker 1: has felt no intimacy for weeks now, and she's wondering,
- 34:29Speaker 1: does Zach just not want any of that with her?
- 34:31Speaker 1: That is exactly what she's wondering. Sure, but he is
- 34:35Speaker 1: giving her like this weird confidence too, like that she
- 34:40Speaker 1: shouldn't be feeling that like the sit down and he's
- 34:43Speaker 1: literally like, just why would you feel behind? Why would
- 34:47Speaker 1: you feel insecure right now? And he's like, I feel
- 34:52Speaker 1: he literally says, verbatim, I have this confidence in us.
- 34:59Speaker 1: And then in what is TV just seconds later, two
- 35:04Speaker 1: minutes max, he literally goes, I feel there's a disconnect
- 35:10Speaker 1: and I don't feel any more sure about this, and
- 35:13Speaker 1: I feel nervous, and I'm like, wait a second, how
- 35:19Speaker 1: did you go from her walking in the room. I
- 35:21Speaker 1: have confidence in us too, To be honest, I feel
- 35:25Speaker 1: there's a disconnect in one in which I cannot get over.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Wait what That's what's worrisome about Zach is that like
- 35:37Speaker 1: he just all of a sudden, like can really feel somebody.
- 35:41Speaker 1: One conversation can make him like I'm over it. We
- 35:45Speaker 1: saw it with Rachel in the Fantasy Street. We don't
- 35:49Speaker 1: know what happened, We don't know what happened there, but
- 35:53Speaker 1: he was like so into it, ready to propose one
- 35:58Speaker 1: night over one night said woke up and was like, yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 1: something happened last night where I don't get anymore so again,
- 36:19Speaker 1: as we mentioned two weeks ago, and people responded, you know,
- 36:22Speaker 1: in their own ways too. It is now a trend
- 36:25Speaker 1: that we're seeing that we want to watch playout for
- 36:28Speaker 1: the rest of the season, Like, is this going to
- 36:29Speaker 1: continue for the rest of the season. Is this just
- 36:32Speaker 1: maybe who Zac is? Like again, we're just trying to
- 36:35Speaker 1: get to know him better. Also, does he just get
- 36:38Speaker 1: uncomfortable in confrontation And in confrontation he does feel like
- 36:41Speaker 1: there's a disconnect because misunderstandings or somebody feeling hurt by
- 36:48Speaker 1: how the process is going he can't relate with and
- 36:51Speaker 1: as a result, he just would rather say, Hey, this
- 36:53Speaker 1: isn't going to work out, and that's how he's going
- 36:55Speaker 1: to find his wife is just saying, hey, who's here,
- 36:57Speaker 1: who gets me, who understands this, who feels comfortable? And
- 37:00Speaker 1: they're going to be here at them. We don't know
- 37:02Speaker 1: it's gonna be like wait, is he gonna end up
- 37:04Speaker 1: with somebody that he just will never have an argument with?
- 37:07Speaker 1: He just they need to be agreeable at all times.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I don't know. If I was one of the girls
- 37:12Speaker 1: watching his conversation with Greer and now this and just
- 37:16Speaker 1: to see how quick he can flip, I'd have a
- 37:20Speaker 1: red flag flying. Yeah, possibly, we'll have to see. It's
- 37:24Speaker 1: gonna be a trend something to pay attention to. It
- 37:27Speaker 1: was definitely I felt like the most dramatic or one
- 37:30Speaker 1: of Yeah, I'd say the most dramatic, most pivotal points
- 37:32Speaker 1: of this episode was this kind of confrontation with Jess
- 37:37Speaker 1: And yeah, I didn't see it coming. I did not
- 37:40Speaker 1: just see this response being done. If somebody to me, Okay,
- 37:44Speaker 1: we need to close this thought Ashley. But if somebody
- 37:47Speaker 1: came up to me, my wife or when I was
- 37:50Speaker 1: dating her, came to me and said, Ben, I really
- 37:52Speaker 1: want to go on a date with you tonight because
- 37:54Speaker 1: I just want us to get away from our house
- 37:56Speaker 1: and to spend time together and I feel like we
- 37:58Speaker 1: haven't done it in a while, and I really just
- 38:00Speaker 1: want to spend more time with you. That's an incredible compliment,
- 38:04Speaker 1: Like that's just a really sweet thing for somebody to
- 38:07Speaker 1: say to you. Is I want more time with you,
- 38:09Speaker 1: and I'm confused on why you aren't wanting that time
- 38:12Speaker 1: with me right now. It's a very calming like conversation
- 38:17Speaker 1: in my household is we need to go and spend
- 38:19Speaker 1: more time together. We need to get out of the house,
- 38:22Speaker 1: away from our distractions and go and be like, Okay,
- 38:27Speaker 1: I understand where you're coming from. You want more time
- 38:29Speaker 1: with me. That's really sweet. Let's go do that. Yeah,
- 38:33Speaker 1: so bizarre. Also, I have one more final thought on this.
- 38:36Speaker 1: If she didn't leave, here be who would have been
- 38:39Speaker 1: eliminated at the Rose ceremony because he has so much
- 38:43Speaker 1: confidence in their relationship. I don't know. It's hard to say.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I don't know, all right. Finally, he has a one
- 38:49Speaker 1: on one with Ariel, which looks like it was squeezed
- 38:51Speaker 1: into the week because I think she may have had
- 38:53Speaker 1: her one on one the same day as they had
- 38:56Speaker 1: the Rose ceremony, just like because of daytime nighttime situation.
- 39:01Speaker 1: And he said yesterday, And that makes sense because they
- 39:04Speaker 1: had to like cut out a week for COVID and whatnot.
- 39:07Speaker 1: That's just a small little observation of mine. Ariel is
- 39:11Speaker 1: someone who has flown under the radar. But while watching
- 39:16Speaker 1: this and having him talk about Sean Low and like
- 39:19Speaker 1: Sean Low, you know, said, Catherine flew under the radar
- 39:24Speaker 1: until like midway through, and then I was on a
- 39:26Speaker 1: date with her and I was like, oh my gosh,
- 39:27Speaker 1: this could be my wife. He brings up this story
- 39:31Speaker 1: and I have to say, I see parallels I'm gonna
- 39:34Speaker 1: make a bold thing, a bold comment. I think that
- 39:38Speaker 1: he's gonna end up with Ariel at the end. Yeah,
- 39:41Speaker 1: no way right now? Still, yeah, I don't know if
- 39:45Speaker 1: Kat's gonna hang around much longer, because there's probably gonna
- 39:48Speaker 1: be some controversy. There's gonna be her disagreeing with him,
- 39:51Speaker 1: or there's gonna be some conflict surrounding her and he
- 39:55Speaker 1: won't be able to deal with it and he'll eliminate her.
- 39:57Speaker 1: That's just that's where I see this going. So you
- 40:00Speaker 1: think he even he even previewed it during the cocktail party,
- 40:04Speaker 1: he said like, I felt a disconnect, and we know
- 40:06Speaker 1: how he deals with disconnect. So I don't even know
- 40:09Speaker 1: if she's going to hang around till hometowns. So do
- 40:12Speaker 1: you think you would put Ariel above charity? Yes? Wow,
- 40:18Speaker 1: So Aero goes to the top of the list right now.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I just said I think she might win. My goodness,
- 40:24Speaker 1: that is a I know. And I think Gabby might
- 40:26Speaker 1: be too. What do you think about their date? What
- 40:29Speaker 1: do you think about the date that was set up
- 40:32Speaker 1: for Ariel and Zach. I always find it a little
- 40:36Speaker 1: odd when we involved nudity on this show, but at
- 40:40Speaker 1: least they didn't have to get nude. They just had
- 40:43Speaker 1: to sit in a sauna and a hot tub with
- 40:46Speaker 1: two an older an older couple who was little nakey,
- 40:52Speaker 1: and you know, yeah, it's gonna make you uncomfortable. I
- 40:55Speaker 1: know what they're trying to do with it. They're trying
- 40:56Speaker 1: to be like, look at this couple. They're so in
- 40:58Speaker 1: love and they're so like open with each other and
- 41:01Speaker 1: open with the world, and la la la la la. Yeah. Well,
- 41:05Speaker 1: for as much as the show said that like wife
- 41:08Speaker 1: caring or whatever that was was popular in Estonia, I
- 41:11Speaker 1: mean in this part of Europe, right, these are this
- 41:13Speaker 1: is a very common, like health practice. It's not odd
- 41:17Speaker 1: to be an assana with nude people. They don't see it,
- 41:20Speaker 1: you know, as in the same way that we maybe
- 41:23Speaker 1: do here in the States. And so, yes, I think
- 41:26Speaker 1: this couple is very much in love, very connected, very
- 41:28Speaker 1: open with each other. But I also just believe it
- 41:30Speaker 1: is a common a more common practice in those in
- 41:34Speaker 1: those places of the world than it is here in
- 41:36Speaker 1: the US. Yeah. Yeah, So I thought the date was
- 41:40Speaker 1: really nice. I think they had fun. I think they
- 41:43Speaker 1: had an emotional connection. The only real thing that stands
- 41:49Speaker 1: out about conversation serious wise, is that Ariel was like,
- 41:52Speaker 1: you know, a lot of times I will kind of
- 41:56Speaker 1: mask this my seriousness with humor just because it's like
- 42:02Speaker 1: a protection. It's a good protection trait. She says also
- 42:08Speaker 1: at the end that she couldn't be herself and a
- 42:12Speaker 1: lot of the relationships were that she had in the past,
- 42:15Speaker 1: and that she's really not wanting to be alone anymore.
- 42:19Speaker 1: She says she's been alone for a long time and
- 42:21Speaker 1: she's tired of it, and that's what made her really emotional.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Towards the end of the day. She says that she
- 42:29Speaker 1: really thinks that Zach could be her forever person. And
- 42:31Speaker 1: I know this is crazy, but I think they think
- 42:33Speaker 1: they could be it in the end. It's beautiful. That
- 42:36Speaker 1: would be beautiful. Well, that takes us then to the
- 42:38Speaker 1: rose ceremony. Yeah, as Ashley mentioned, not a shocker on
- 42:43Speaker 1: who went home, Jess obviously has gone home, Ali is
- 42:46Speaker 1: sent home. Charity already has a rose, and so does Ariel,
- 42:52Speaker 1: who's the other one with the rose. At this point,
- 42:55Speaker 1: there is no other one with the rose because you
- 42:57Speaker 1: remember at the group date, he didn't give a rose
- 42:59Speaker 1: because he felt weird. After the Jess elimination. Okay, So
- 43:02Speaker 1: then we have the first Rose goes to Gabby, then Katie, Brooklyn, Cat,
- 43:06Speaker 1: and Ali is sent home. That takes us into next
- 43:10Speaker 1: week Ashley, like every episode we do, I ask you,
- 43:15Speaker 1: who is your top three in order from your favorite
- 43:19Speaker 1: to I don't know three? Who still is a favorite? Ashley?
- 43:23Speaker 1: Top three? Okay, my top three is Aerial winning, Gabby
- 43:31Speaker 1: being number two and Katie being number three. Okay, I go,
- 43:36Speaker 1: I go Charity. Now, Cat as who number one? Do
- 43:41Speaker 1: you think he's gonna marry Charity or he's gonna get
- 43:43Speaker 1: engaged a Charity? At this point, I would not say
- 43:47Speaker 1: that I think that they're going to get engaged. I
- 43:50Speaker 1: still see Cat more of with him at the end.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be a rough and wild ride.
- 43:56Speaker 1: But right now where we sit in terms of his
- 43:58Speaker 1: infatuation and who I feel like has the most momentum,
- 44:01Speaker 1: I would go Charity, Cat and then Ariel Probably You're right,
- 44:06Speaker 1: Ariel probably have snuck up into the top three. He's
- 44:09Speaker 1: obsessed with Gabby right now? Ben sure sure? I mean, really,
- 44:15Speaker 1: like we said at the beginning, everybody like I could
- 44:18Speaker 1: have easily put Katie into this conversation still yeah, I
- 44:21Speaker 1: just put kid into conversation. So yeah, I don't know. Well,
- 44:25Speaker 1: first before we like wrap this up, I think we
- 44:28Speaker 1: do need to talk about Brooklyn's behavior towards Cat one
- 44:31Speaker 1: more time. Okay. So she's having a chat with Charity
- 44:34Speaker 1: and it's adult like, you know, she says she doesn't
- 44:37Speaker 1: appreciate the fact that she in her you know, that
- 44:40Speaker 1: she took Zack away before their day. But then Brooklyn
- 44:43Speaker 1: comes in the room and goes, Charity, are you okay?
- 44:47Speaker 1: And it's like, oh my gosh, come on now, girl,
- 44:50Speaker 1: I get it. I don't like the cat move either,
- 44:53Speaker 1: but she is just she's got a thendetta against her.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Cat's pissed. She walked away from the situation. She's in
- 45:02Speaker 1: an interview, such a kind of kind of she's talking
- 45:04Speaker 1: to a producer in another room, and then Zach comes
- 45:08Speaker 1: up and then he pulls her aside, says that he
- 45:10Speaker 1: feels like they've been off and she's like, no, no no,
- 45:15Speaker 1: no, no no, Like I value every moment that I have
- 45:17Speaker 1: with you. It's just the group setting is really hard.
- 45:19Speaker 1: I haven't had like, you know, time alone with you
- 45:22Speaker 1: and quite some time, and I just feel like this
- 45:26Speaker 1: is the beginning of the end for them. That's all.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Do you have anything else to say about that Brooklyn scenario, Like,
- 45:32Speaker 1: do you think that I'm overdoing it? Like, I just
- 45:34Speaker 1: think her jealousy is blaring. I don't know, we haven't
- 45:39Speaker 1: seen you at this season. I don't have I mean,
- 45:41Speaker 1: I think for the first time. I usually I would say, hey,
- 45:44Speaker 1: this is definitely not going to end well. But we
- 45:47Speaker 1: don't know yet how Zach will respond because we haven't
- 45:50Speaker 1: really seen him respond to I guess we did with
- 45:53Speaker 1: like the Instagram following him respond to maybe like in
- 45:57Speaker 1: house controversy, but he might that Brooklyn is you know,
- 46:03Speaker 1: like into him and so protective of him. So I
- 46:08Speaker 1: don't have necessarily a feeling on where this ends other
- 46:12Speaker 1: than the fact that typically in seasons this never ends
- 46:15Speaker 1: well and now and maybe Kat is doing other things
- 46:19Speaker 1: that we haven't seen that are really irking the girls.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Nobody seems to be totally on her side. Gabby and
- 46:26Speaker 1: Ariel were even like, should we check on her? And
- 46:28Speaker 1: Gabby was like, it wouldn't be in the best interest
- 46:30Speaker 1: of us. So it doesn't seem like anybody's trying to
- 46:33Speaker 1: rush your rescue. I am assuming that more has happened
- 46:37Speaker 1: than just that steal. But maybe we'll find out zim. Okay, well,
- 46:42Speaker 1: are we ready for Bachelor or headlines? We sure are
- 46:56Speaker 1: all right? First headline of today, Caitlin Bristows, this is
- 47:00Speaker 1: interesting to me, claims Bachelor footage of Zach sick in
- 47:05Speaker 1: London was shot in La. This is juicy. I love it. Yeah,
- 47:14Speaker 1: and Ashley, you know, read through and explain where this
- 47:17Speaker 1: headline is going. But I have seen this headline. I've
- 47:20Speaker 1: I've I've listened to the clip. I don't know like
- 47:26Speaker 1: what we're getting at. Obviously, if he were we saying
- 47:30Speaker 1: he wasn't really sick in London? Are we saying that
- 47:32Speaker 1: something happened in London where he couldn't even be there.
- 47:35Speaker 1: I don't get what like the outcome is in terms
- 47:38Speaker 1: of what is being said, other than the fact that yes,
- 47:41Speaker 1: it's juicy and it's weird that she thinks it was
- 47:42Speaker 1: shot in LA and not London. Okay. She says that
- 47:45Speaker 1: when they show b roll of Zach, it looks like
- 47:50Speaker 1: he's not doing too bad, despite the dramatic footage of
- 47:53Speaker 1: him blowing his nose. She goes, he's like in his
- 47:57Speaker 1: hotel room in bad blowing his nose and he's got
- 48:01Speaker 1: a fake little cup of tea. That hotel is in La.
- 48:06Speaker 1: She goes, the proof is all in the headboard. It's
- 48:09Speaker 1: the hotel that they always put up their people when
- 48:12Speaker 1: we do things like final rows or women tel all
- 48:14Speaker 1: mental law. That's where we stay in this very specific
- 48:18Speaker 1: bed when that has that back. So why would producers
- 48:22Speaker 1: do this? According to Caitlin, they must have had been like, oh,
- 48:28Speaker 1: we need some b roll of Zach looking sick. So
- 48:31Speaker 1: then he's back in La They're like, hey, can we
- 48:35Speaker 1: just get you blowing your nose and like holding a
- 48:36Speaker 1: teacup in the hotel room. I agree that is definitely
- 48:40Speaker 1: what happened. They were like when he was had COVID,
- 48:43Speaker 1: they weren't thinking about b roll of him being sick
- 48:45Speaker 1: and needing it, and they did they need that they
- 48:48Speaker 1: would have a cameraman in the room with him. Well
- 48:51Speaker 1: they wouldn't. That was probably why they And I don't
- 48:55Speaker 1: even know if he would have had his He wouldn't
- 48:56Speaker 1: even had his phone. So what they would have had
- 48:58Speaker 1: to do is like place camera or a phone outside
- 49:02Speaker 1: his room, have him bring it in. It takes some
- 49:06Speaker 1: footage of him not feeling good and which they could
- 49:09Speaker 1: have done that, but maybe they just weren't thinking about it. Well. Yeah,
- 49:14Speaker 1: and what we saw and the scenes of him blowing
- 49:16Speaker 1: his nose, we're not taken from a phone and they
- 49:18Speaker 1: were taken by a third party. So interesting. I'd never
- 49:21Speaker 1: thought of this. I think last week when he was sick,
- 49:24Speaker 1: we did say isn't it interesting how much they still
- 49:26Speaker 1: allowed him to be around people even though he was sick?
- 49:29Speaker 1: And so that does this does solve that where maybe
- 49:32Speaker 1: they shot a lot of this after the fact. Do
- 49:35Speaker 1: you think that they didn't want him to have a
- 49:36Speaker 1: computer or a phone and that's why they didn't do it,
- 49:41Speaker 1: Because I just feel it's weird that they wouldn't, like
- 49:43Speaker 1: slip at him to the door. Yeah, it could be.
- 49:45Speaker 1: I mean, yike, next internet and reads everything about a
- 49:47Speaker 1: season and reads about all the exact all the girls.
- 49:49Speaker 1: I did that during my season. That one room in
- 49:51Speaker 1: Portland had a iPad it and it controlled the like
- 49:54Speaker 1: temperature in the room and the TV and all that,
- 49:56Speaker 1: and it had internet, and so I got on the Internet.
- 49:58Speaker 1: I researched every single person that was on my seat
- 50:00Speaker 1: and everything that was going on, what people were saying,
- 50:03Speaker 1: I don't know if it was good or bad, but
- 50:04Speaker 1: I did it. Yeah, so yeah, that's probably one of
- 50:08Speaker 1: the reasons. Just interesting that Caitlin picked up on it
- 50:12Speaker 1: a little bit juicy, very JC. I love it. Next
- 50:16Speaker 1: headline is this Claire Crawley responds to Bachelor's Zach claims
- 50:20Speaker 1: he wasn't allowed to intervene in drama and the quote
- 50:25Speaker 1: here is you don't have to do anything the producers
- 50:27Speaker 1: tell you to do, just comes with consequences if you don't.
- 50:30Speaker 1: That's kind of what we were saying a few weeks ago. Okay,
- 50:34Speaker 1: So in an Entertainment Weekly video that was posted earlier
- 50:36Speaker 1: this month, Zach said, when someone steals you and I
- 50:40Speaker 1: don't know if I can say all this, but I
- 50:41Speaker 1: gotta keep my mouth shut let it happen as much
- 50:45Speaker 1: as I can. So there are times when I want
- 50:47Speaker 1: to speak a gap and be like, oh yeah, all right,
- 50:49Speaker 1: let's go talk. But it's for the environment we're in
- 50:53Speaker 1: that it has to be handled by the women. He
- 50:56Speaker 1: also said, I think my face gives it away a lot,
- 50:58Speaker 1: whether or not I want to be pooled or not.
- 51:01Speaker 1: I'm really bad at hiding it, and he's right there,
- 51:03Speaker 1: I'm really bad at hiding when I'm feeling I'm like
- 51:06Speaker 1: really so bad at it, So I kind of just
- 51:08Speaker 1: let it play out and then okay. So that's that's
- 51:13Speaker 1: one theory on it. Um. As the lead, I feel like, Ben,
- 51:18Speaker 1: you are better to give a response to this before
- 51:22Speaker 1: I go into what Claire's response was. Yeah, I mean
- 51:26Speaker 1: it's a balance, right, It's a balance. It's a it's
- 51:29Speaker 1: it definitely is a balance. However, kind you know we
- 51:34Speaker 1: are you are the lead of a season where everybody,
- 51:37Speaker 1: the contestants, and you are participating in this experience. We've
- 51:41Speaker 1: just hammered that today. And part of his job is too,
- 51:47Speaker 1: you know. It's it's what everybody's intention is going in.
- 51:49Speaker 1: My intention was I wanted everybody, probably based on my
- 51:52Speaker 1: own issues with wanting people to um leave experiences with
- 51:57Speaker 1: me and be like I'm glad he was there. I
- 51:59Speaker 1: wanted everybody come on my season and if even if
- 52:01Speaker 1: they were let go, they were just happy they did it.
- 52:03Speaker 1: And so that's how how I navigated any drama or
- 52:06Speaker 1: controversy is can we settle this? Can we come to
- 52:09Speaker 1: a place of agreement, because I don't want you leaving
- 52:13Speaker 1: feeling like this was a bad experience for you. I
- 52:15Speaker 1: think I failed with Olivia during that I don't think
- 52:19Speaker 1: I did a good job at helping protect her. But
- 52:22Speaker 1: for the most part that season, I feel like the
- 52:23Speaker 1: women left and we're in a good place now. Zach
- 52:26Speaker 1: went into this and his intention that we heard very
- 52:28Speaker 1: clearly was he was here because he wanted to find love.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Like that, he Zach wanted to find love, and so
- 52:34Speaker 1: everything that he is doing is on that pursuit and
- 52:38Speaker 1: the you know, we've seen that with you know, the
- 52:40Speaker 1: controversy with the women, and so maybe he isn't as
- 52:43Speaker 1: interested in entering into drama because he doesn't really focus
- 52:46Speaker 1: as much on the experience in general. He just cares
- 52:49Speaker 1: about when he's with somebody, are they getting closer to
- 52:52Speaker 1: deciding are they the right match for each other or not?
- 52:54Speaker 1: So that maybe why he stays out of it. It
- 52:56Speaker 1: doesn't intrigue him. It's not a part of his pursuit. Mmmmmmm.
- 53:01Speaker 1: And the person that is like kind of being a
- 53:05Speaker 1: little bit more produce is probably someone that he doesn't
- 53:07Speaker 1: like care to really sure continue with the process. Right,
- 53:11Speaker 1: So it's exactly whatever, I'll do this for a show.
- 53:14Speaker 1: But Claire is exactly right. What she says, the producers
- 53:17Speaker 1: tell you to do. You do not have to do
- 53:20Speaker 1: what the producers tell you to do. That's why. Um.
- 53:24Speaker 1: In the past I've always said, hey, editing, Yes, that
- 53:27Speaker 1: has been a problem for some I won't discount that.
- 53:29Speaker 1: But in general, when you blame the producers for making
- 53:32Speaker 1: you do something, my response is, you don't have to
- 53:35Speaker 1: do it. Now. It does come with consequences maybe if
- 53:38Speaker 1: you don't, but you don't know what those consequences are,
- 53:41Speaker 1: if they're great or small. You just don't have to
- 53:43Speaker 1: do what the producers tell you to do. That is
- 53:45Speaker 1: not a thing that you have to do. Well. Claire
- 53:48Speaker 1: wrote that underneath a VID that video of Zach explaining
- 53:52Speaker 1: why he made the choices he did. She said, you
- 53:55Speaker 1: don't have to do anything, you know, with the quotes around,
- 53:58Speaker 1: have to do anything on you to do. But she
- 54:01Speaker 1: does add just comes with consequences if you don't. Yeah,
- 54:06Speaker 1: I mean, we saw it with Claire. She got up
- 54:07Speaker 1: in left like a few weeks into her season and
- 54:10Speaker 1: had a whole production set waiting behind, and like she
- 54:13Speaker 1: just said, no, I'm doing this, sorry guys, and she
- 54:15Speaker 1: did it and out it came with consequences, But we
- 54:18Speaker 1: ended up getting Tasha, you know, from that, so it
- 54:20Speaker 1: all worked out all right. Final headline out today, Rachel,
- 54:23Speaker 1: the former Bachelorette, speaks out after Zach shall cross references
- 54:28Speaker 1: they're passed again on The Bachelor. I was surprised to
- 54:33Speaker 1: see Rachel speak out on Zach after last week's episode
- 54:37Speaker 1: because he has been kind of going around still bringing
- 54:41Speaker 1: up the fantasy suite or whatever happened between the two
- 54:45Speaker 1: of them and there multiple times throughout his press tour
- 54:48Speaker 1: being the Bachelor, So I wasn't sure if Rachel was
- 54:51Speaker 1: the biggest fan. But she did come to his defense
- 54:53Speaker 1: last week when people were specifically going after him about
- 54:58Speaker 1: the way that he handled a greer conversation and said,
- 55:02Speaker 1: let's all be mindful and extend a little bit of
- 55:05Speaker 1: compassion and grace towards the leads of this show. I
- 55:11Speaker 1: think that's a great thought. But you know, they are
- 55:14Speaker 1: the lead of the show, and so we are going
- 55:16Speaker 1: to talk about their decision making and how they're navigating it.
- 55:21Speaker 1: That's part of watching the show is fans. But yes,
- 55:23Speaker 1: when it comes to personal hits on people and claiming
- 55:26Speaker 1: there this and that, and you know, saying terrible things
- 55:30Speaker 1: that make people doubt themselves. Not fair, but yeah, of
- 55:34Speaker 1: course not. We don't want like the actual bullying, but
- 55:36Speaker 1: like what we do here on the podcast, which is
- 55:38Speaker 1: critique the episodes and critique some of the moves made,
- 55:43Speaker 1: you know, gotta do it these journeys. We're in it.
- 55:46Speaker 1: And I am personally actually very excited for the rest
- 55:50Speaker 1: of this season because, as we mentioned many times, probably
- 55:53Speaker 1: the coolest part about this season is there has been
- 55:55Speaker 1: a lack of drama and there is a lot of
- 55:57Speaker 1: connections still being formed, and there's a lot of people
- 56:00Speaker 1: right now that we could see with Zach at the end.
- 56:03Speaker 1: That is exciting and it makes me very intrigued for
- 56:06Speaker 1: the next few episodes. We'll be on the edge of
- 56:08Speaker 1: our seat. Form Hey, Ben, I have a thought. We
- 56:12Speaker 1: keep saying that we feel like a lot of these
- 56:14Speaker 1: girls are in contention. Sure, do you think that normally
- 56:17Speaker 1: there are these many girls in contention at this point
- 56:19Speaker 1: we just don't see it, But we don't really see
- 56:21Speaker 1: it because there's more drama storylines. I think, Yeah, so
- 56:25Speaker 1: they are giving us the connection that we've been asking for.
- 56:28Speaker 1: They really have listened to the fans in that sense,
- 56:30Speaker 1: and I have really been quite intrigued the past couple
- 56:34Speaker 1: episodes as I continue to be confused where this is
- 56:39Speaker 1: all going to go. They're listening to the fans. This
- 56:41Speaker 1: feels more like a season from you know, two thousand
- 56:46Speaker 1: and thirteen than it does from a season of recent
- 56:50Speaker 1: because drama has taken a backseat to love stories. And
- 56:53Speaker 1: I think if the fans that are watching it, I
- 56:56Speaker 1: think they're enjoying that. I think they're into that. I
- 56:59Speaker 1: know I am at least, and so um yeah, we'll
- 57:02Speaker 1: be It'll be an interesting end of the season, well
- 57:04Speaker 1: until next time. Until next week when we break down
- 57:07Speaker 1: another episode of The Bachelor. I've Been Ben, I've Been Ashley.
- 57:12Speaker 1: SIA followed the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcasts
