- 0:14SPEAKER_02: We do our own F some introduce some FIH stats.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: We introduce a new segment, the coupe's there, and she'll hit it too.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: It's all next.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: I'll do a shout out.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: First of all, thank you to anyone who keeps tuning in and listening to our.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's been described as many things, but mainly it's pointless hockey chat.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Um, thanks for the listeners.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Thanks for the love.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Keep trying to pass our pod, would be amazing.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: We're trying to grow.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: We're not really doing a great deal about it, but we're we're kind of trying.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: Um, how are you both?
- 1:08SPEAKER_03: I think that's a good thing.
- 1:10SPEAKER_03: I think that's a pretty good description, Phil.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: Go on, you talk us through it because you've had a hell of a weekend.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: No, I'm good.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've I've had a hell of a weekend.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: I wanted to start off today uh actually by rectifying something we said last week.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Um, I think uh I was thinking about the um the uh the awards for FIH, and I think we forgot a pretty big name in the uh talent of the year at the men's side.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Um I said uh I think Arno van Dessel, the Belgian player, but a really good uh European cup, had a really good uh pro league, really uh was one of the bright young stars that gave Belgium like a new dimension, and we totally forgot to mention him.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: I think he's actually uh he could give uh Duco Telke Camp a bit of another run for his money, but it he can make it close.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: So I wanted to rectify that because I think um uh we totally forgot that.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm a thousand percent sure he doesn't listen and he doesn't give a shit what we think.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: But if you listen, Arno, I am sorry.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: I don't know if these two are, but I'm sorry that we forgot you didn't give you the credit.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: I am sorry, Phil's not, but I am.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Well, my weekend.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Thanks for asking, Brendan.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: It was a bit of um, yeah, it was a shit show, it was chaotic, it was everything, it was like a Yub the Mall weekend.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: So on Friday we hate we we had a double.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Uh we we had to play Friday, uh, we had to play Schaweide at home, and on Sunday we had to play Bloom and Our Way.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Um on Friday, uh it started, it was real English weather, it started to uh uh piss uh what are you raining cats and dogs?
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Piss cats and dogs.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: What's the say?
- 2:55SPEAKER_03: It's coming down in stir rods.
- 2:58SPEAKER_03: That's that's not the saying, Phil.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: No, it's something with cats and dogs, right?
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's raining cats and dogs.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's it's it's raining cats and dogs.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: It was raining cats and dogs.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: The field was a was was uh was a swamp.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Uh there was like no go no going through.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: So at at nine o'clock, they said, fuck it, Schaweijder, go back to where you came from.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: We're canceling this game.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: Game cancelled.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: So we were like, okay, what the fuck are we gonna do?
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Then on Sunday, we had to go to Blumenaway.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: The club was really nice, and they they they got us a like a like I felt like a football player for the first time in my life.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: They got us like a bus, but like a real player's bus.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: It was a bit, it was FC Eindhoven's like the local football club, which made me like second guess, like we're actually one of the biggest hockey clubs in the world, and we had to borrow uh a bus from the second team uh in Eindhoven, football team.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it also put us a bit in our place, but who gives a shit?
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Uh and then we had to play Blumenthal, uh, which wasn't, I think, a really good game.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: I think it was fun to watch for people.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Um ended in 3-3.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: I think we still uh I don't think I'm sure we stole a point there.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Uh first half was like on the side of even, but Blumenau was a bit better, and the second half don't think we had a lot to tell in the game.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And uh Blumenau, uh uh we were up 1-0, up 2-1, 2-2, and after a shitload of corners, uh Blumenau finally converted one, um, made it 3-2.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Um uh your guy, your boy, uh our boy Zach Wallace scored.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Um, thought he was the game winner, and then with 70 seconds left on the clock, we got our first penalty corner, and who else but fucking Sam Lane flicks his first corner into the goal, uh, confirming his already legendary status at Orion Road and gave us uh a point.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Blumenel was really frustrated, which made it a bit more funny.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: They were the better team, they would they deserve to win, but it was really funny to see all those caps, all those stars, uh a bit desperate as like, how are we going to win matches if we can't win like this?
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Because they played a really good game.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Uh, but yeah.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: So I was it was uh in the end, I only got one point this weekend.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Um, we played tomorrow, we played Skaweida, but it was a really good uh a good weekend.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Like I had a good uh good feeling about it.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: And I saw Phil, you won 6-0 again.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was gonna just say, first of all, hell of a monologue.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: Love it.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Like you're you're you're really good at that.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: And secondly, Sam Lane, we have to talk about him because yeah, he's the Kiwi um set one of the Kiwi centre forwards.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: He he kind of came onto the scene a few years ago.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: Not a great deal known about him.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: Like he played in the Belgian League, you picked him up, um, and suddenly he's just he just bangs the goals.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: Can you give us a brief summary about Sam?
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: Like he he seems like a lovely guy.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: Um, I talked to him a few times.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: Standard Kiwi.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: Uh, but like, yeah, is he is he just he knows where to stand and his flicks really good?
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: Like, and he's got a hell of a finish.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: I think you that's that's you're not giving, or that I know it's tough to, but like you're not giving him enough credit.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: I think he is he is a standard kiwi.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: No, I I know you're giving him credit, but like it's not enough, in my opinion.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: No, no, sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 6:26SPEAKER_02: The standard Kiwi in terms of he's really nice was what I meant.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, okay, okay.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he he is uh he never complains, he he's always on, he always delivers if it's a training, if it's a match, always runs his ass off, which I always like because I'm I'm uh it may come as a surprise to you both.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: I'm a bit of an extroverted person, so uh I also sometimes complain.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: He never complains, he's always relaxed, he's always chill, he's always nice, he's always kind to everybody, and he fucking delivers.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Like last year was his first year, he scored 15 goals.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: We're at we're nine games in, he's already scored 12.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Uh, besides that, the fact that he's always in the right spot, he has a he has a really good feel in the circle, as in uh he's always on the second post on his belly.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Uh he like um he's never scared of the ball, and his flick is like pretty unpredictable, pretty hard.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: And he's just uh he's a really nice human being, like he's always kind, which I always like, he's always there for others.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, it's it sounds a bit uh like I'm in love with him.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: Uh, and to be honest with you guys, I'm pretty pretty damn close to it right now.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: He's he's he's scoring a lot of fucking goals.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: That is a that I'll tell you what, that's hell of a review of Sam Lane.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: So respect to you.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: Well done, boy.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Uh I'll knock, I'll knock on wood because I hope he doesn't now start fucking up now that I give him gave him this much credit.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: But I have all the confidence in the world in him.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: Brendan, do you want to do your week or your game?
- 7:59SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, we played University of Nottingham.
- 8:03SPEAKER_03: We went one-nil down inside the first uh two minutes, and then five minutes later we were 4-1 up.
- 8:08SPEAKER_03: So uh yeah.
- 8:11SPEAKER_03: I it was nice to play against the university side because they try hard, but it wasn't the most enjoyable game.
- 8:16SPEAKER_03: I spent most of the game at CDM, to be honest with you.
- 8:19SPEAKER_03: Kind of just I didn't really play fullback, I just kind of passed the ball and led through and basically played midfield for the whole game, which I don't think helped our team in any way, shape, or form.
- 8:28SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, that was my weekend.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: What was the final seven-two?
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: Can I say one thing, Brendan?
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: For the last five weeks in a row, you you you did not play an enjoyable uh game.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Isn't that worrying you a little bit?
- 8:47SPEAKER_03: What are you guys doing every week?
- 8:49SPEAKER_03: No, no, I I'm full well aware.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: Um, what's the nicest way to describe it?
- 8:52SPEAKER_03: I I really enjoyed the first half of the league so far, as in like the first six games, because we played against all the best teams.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: So it felt really competitive, it was good, there was a lot of competition, all the games were close.
- 9:03SPEAKER_03: And in the last six weeks, our worst result has been seven to two.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: That's been our worst result, and it's now got to the point that it's not really enjoyable, um, which says a lot.
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm with you, I'm completely with you.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: I am worried, I'll be honest.
- 9:16SPEAKER_03: Um, but the bonuses is that after this weekend, we then play against the top six, so it'll actually be a really good run of games in February and March, which is good.
- 9:26SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: Gren, you forgot the most the nicest part of your weekend, which was meeting meeting the fan my family for coffee.
- 9:35SPEAKER_02: And we went for a walk with Maddie and the Willow.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: We had a wholesome Saturday morning.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: That was lovely.
- 9:42SPEAKER_03: So and fun funny enough, actually, I did the same thing with another family on Sunday.
- 9:46SPEAKER_03: It's actually been a lot of seeing people with their little ones, which has been really wholesome.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: Uh, also watched your game you've on Sunday, which was also very enjoyable to watch.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: Oh, lovely.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was actually a really good game to watch.
- 9:57SPEAKER_03: Uh, watching Sam Lane bang it in in the last minute was yeah, pretty cool to see, to be honest, seeing you boys play.
- 10:03SPEAKER_03: Um, and I funny enough, watched the Blumenthal Pinnacle game on Friday night, which was uh what's the best way to describe it?
- 10:10SPEAKER_03: A smash a snatch and grab, I guess, from Pincay as well.
- 10:14SPEAKER_03: Uh, just watching Drake just bulldoze through a few people was quite entertaining.
- 10:18SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, that was my weekend, nothing crazy.
- 10:21SPEAKER_03: Um, how about yours, Philip?
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: Not that I'm not gonna go too crazy, but I do have big news that I forgot, and I haven't told you both.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: I trained with Hugo Inglis on Thursday night, Holcomb.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: Wow, yeah.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: What he he is a friend's jealous, Renner's jealous.
- 10:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he was in my top five players.
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: What Phil, what's going on?
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: He's he's friends with uh Barry Middleton and he his girlfriend he plays in Germany, his girlfriend lives in London, so he was over, and then Baz's like, Do you want to come and train with us?
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: Your season's over.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: And for some reason he said, Yeah, I'll come down to Holcomb Park and uh have a knock around with the lads.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: I don't think he got paid, no, Brendan.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: Um shame.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: Again, I'll confirm right of a few things, a few things to note.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: As per, as I just said about Sam Lane, he's he's a really lovely guy.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: I already spoke to him a few times in in our careers, we're both old, but um he's a really lovely guy, and second of all, he is he first he is we we got some stuff wrong.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: His finishing is pretty outrageous.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: I know I'm just going off one training session with Holcomb, but what have I said the whole time?
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: Got some tasty skills and a hell of a finish on him, so that was an enjoyable Thursday night, a bit of a weird one, rocking up to training and just seeing him knocking about.
- 11:40SPEAKER_03: Um is he now in your top five, just out of interest?
- 11:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, no, but okay, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.
- 11:46SPEAKER_03: No doubt, no doubt.
- 11:46SPEAKER_03: Cool, cool.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: I can't give him a compliment, um, but sorry, Hugo, if you're listening, but you do you still don't make my dream five a side team, but you're a fucking good.
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: He's in denial.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: Um, and then we yeah, like you said, we won 6-0 on the weekend against Cardiff.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: Uh, I'm not gonna be too negative about it.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: We we didn't play very well, and uh we won 6-0.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: I did hear you scored your first straight flick of the season.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: I did I did score um a couple of goals again.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: I'm on, um, I don't know what was happening.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm scoring goals.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: It feels weird.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: Um it does help when I mean Cardiff gave me a one-on-one with a keeper, uh quite a slow one-on-one with a keeper as well, which was nice to have, and also did score a did score a flick, which was also enjoyable.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: But I don't want to go too crazy about that.
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: Some news, I only have one little bit of news, and it was just again on the Dutch league, uh Jaron Herzberger became the all-time top scorer in the men's hoofklasse with 347 goals.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: Um now I don't know how long his career spanned.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: I think they put out some stats on it, but it's uh pretty outrageous.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go with you.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: You got some comments on that or not?
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it it kind of speaks for itself.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: I just think it's um the the most impressive thing I have to give Hetzberger is his long uh longevity.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like it's it's incredible the amount of years he pushes himself to be good and uh to be great, and uh to always be in the top five and top scorers in the league.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: And I think that shows this record.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, it's uh besides the fact that he's just a really, really good striker, uh, but it also shows uh how how impressive it is that I think that he's it's it's his like 18th year in the Hofklasse, maybe even 19th or something like that, that he can still bang in goals.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: He's he's he's on like eight or nine goals already this season as well.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, just uh hats off to him.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I think uh incredible uh uh accomplishment.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: And I don't know if there will be someone uh soon to to break that record because the the the special thing is he he bangs in quite a few penalty quarters, but also field uh field goals.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: So that combination is quite rare.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Like I only the only one that comes to mind is like Tom Bone in that area and like Zellech, players like that, but there's not a lot of them.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: But he his his I mean it's speaks for itself just from what I look at.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: I I go on hockey, you say hockey punt and l hockey and l every week, and you look at the like men's hoof class scores and you click on who scored and the results, and it's a shock when he hasn't scored.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: And to be honest, it's a shock when he's just scored one, to be honest.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: Um, he's a pretty inevitable, I think.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: Again, like you've spoken for yours, like it's incredible achievement.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: It'll be tough to see that record broken.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: Um right, Brendan.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: Did you want to take we obviously put out a couple of rule changes?
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: We're gonna ignore and and format suggestions, we're gonna ignore my shit suggestion.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: Um, but we did you did put some stuff out on Instagram about the rugby rule change.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: What what what what type of reaction did we get from that?
- 15:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, funny actually, Phil.
- 15:07SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go back.
- 15:08SPEAKER_03: You actually got quite a few compliments for your idea.
- 15:11SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, I know you're surprised.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, you got quite a few compliments, but then people were like, Oh, basically the the issue was the goalkeeper.
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: Anyway, we'll move on.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Um I I did just just a quick quick one.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: I did think about your idea a little bit more, Philip.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: It triggered something in me.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: It it tickled me in places I haven't been tickled before.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: So I was thinking, how can we make how how can we how do we make it work?
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: I was thinking, but then I it ended up.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Do you know the the sport golf ball?
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you have uh uh a name for it in English.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's called ball, same sport, yeah, with like where men and women are in the same team, and it's like you can only right, yeah.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: But there you have like an attacking team and a defending team, yeah.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: But then I was like, golf ball, it might be it's up there with the most shitty sports in the world, so it kind of confirms what we thought about your game.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: But I thought you could go more into like a callfall.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Did you have like a defensive team, like a defensive three and an attacking three with their own goalie?
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: And like if they win the ball, they'll like pass it to the you know what I mean.
- 16:15SPEAKER_03: It's almost like a specific time period that the attacking team gets to attack type thing.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: It's yeah, but you have like a but then yeah, then who wants to be the defender all the time?
- 16:24SPEAKER_03: Like maybe you have halves where you just swap for the halves.
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: You maybe you have a defensive three and then you swap at half time and you become the I don't know, yeah, you're right.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: Who would I think about that?
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: That would be the Simon, yeah, yes, Chimon.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: It's your idea.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: Made my shit idea even shitter.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I tried to make it better, and it ended up even more shit.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: So that says a lot about your idea, Philip.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: Uh anyway, back on to the original rule.
- 16:49SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, we got quite a lot of love um for the rules.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: Simon Mantell, XGB player, uh, and Kevin McCurio, who played in the Hoofdklasser for a bit.
- 17:00SPEAKER_03: Uh, I don't know if he still does now.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: He was at KZ and Hurley.
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: They both really liked it and didn't really have much to say on it.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: Um, Luigi, I want to say Fauseglia or Falceglia, not sure how you pronounce it.
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: He just said it was bullshit, so that was great.
- 17:14SPEAKER_03: Really enjoyed that.
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: Um and then actually a few people messaged in and basically said that it would make the fixtures organizer, whoever's organizing the fixtures, make their job a nightmare, as the extended games might cause hassle.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: And I just thought, well, that's not our problem.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: That's we're not here to provide solutions, we're here to offer suggestions.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: So give problems.
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, all in all, pretty positive feedback for it.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: So for Parky and Jammer, it's a pretty damn good result, to be honest.
- 17:42SPEAKER_03: Um, and it does definitely offer something at the end of games that I think quite a lot of people agree with rather than rather than just being the end of the game, it actually gives an opportunity for the attacking team to go and score, um, which is pretty good.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: So, yeah, from that point of view, pretty positive feedback, which is worrying.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: Have we genuinely stumbled upon something here?
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well done, Barkey.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: And Jammer.
- 18:10SPEAKER_03: Sorry, Nick and James Gore for you's benefit there.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: The only thing left to do now is obviously put this forward to the FIH and uh see where they want to go with it.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: Just out of interest, which one of us three is the spokesperson?
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: I'm sure I'm sure it's not me.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: It's you, Brent.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: Rock, paper, scissors.
- 18:31SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay, no.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, just while we were talking about the FIH and the awards, I actually got um my guy Mo Ma Mo Mayer from uh Holcombe.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: He gave me some insight.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: He's he's moving up the ranks, I think, within the FIH.
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: He's absolutely loving it.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: He was told me that basically he does have the the names of the people who or he he couldn't give me the people who actually do the nominations for the six players in each category that we did last week.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: But um each continent has uh male and a female who get nominated, who then uh get into a call or meeting together and they decide the uh six players.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: Um I know that two years ago um for Europe it was like Simon Mason and Muller Veland.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: Does that ring a bell?
- 19:34SPEAKER_03: That does ring a bell, yeah.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: So I mean I think it will come out uh when they do the nomination.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: Okay forward.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I was I was more like on our suggestions, obviously you brought in Van Dessel.
- 19:51SPEAKER_03: Um with so the FAH have recently brought out a new thing where you can basically search the stats of players um from 2013 onwards.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: Um I know we wrote off Harmon Prix, but he has scored 42 goals this calendar year in 31 games, which is I granted he's playing against absolute pigeon flickers in like Singapore um teams like that, I get it, but like that's still quite impressive to score that many goals, 42 and 31.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: Um just thought like as much as we write him off.
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: Uh and genuine, just as an interesting fact for you, uh the top scorer in the women's uh international side of things is Zhu Bing Feng from China, who scored 19 and 31.
- 20:43SPEAKER_03: Uh however, Yibi Jansen has played half the games and scored 18.
- 20:48SPEAKER_03: So I imagine if Argentina uh with Holland being out of the um pro league in Argentina, I imagine she might take the top accolade overall.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: But yeah, just thought it was quite interesting that I had no idea he'd scored that many because I thought he just had the yips for 12 months, but it turns out he hasn't, he just had it for a tournament.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: Now, Brent Brendan Brendan got excited about this and messaged us.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: Can you just go through?
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: Sorry, what this FIH thing, and you've already come up with some of some of the stats, haven't you?
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: Do you want to do that?
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, first first, I want to say, like, I I do get the the uh uh the the the stats about Haman Britt, and I appreciate uh that and he is the top score of the FIH Pro League, but I've made it abundantly clear that I'm not basing any of my nominations on stats, I'm doing it on my gut.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: My gut says that he had a shit World Cup.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: It confirmed by looking at the TV, and uh he didn't play any other very prominent uh uh tournaments.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: So I'm I I congratulate him on his 42 goals.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: That's 42 more than I made this year.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: But uh, the thing we do have in common is that we will both not be nominated for.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Player of the year this year.
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: On that note, yeah.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: So I collated, I collated our stats.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: Basically, FIH have brought out this thing called the International Data Hockey Hub, I think it's called.
- 22:13SPEAKER_03: It's called the Interact, sorry, Interactive Hockey Data Hub, where basically you can search for any player that's played international hockey over the since 2013, and it'll give you the stats from 2013.
- 22:25SPEAKER_03: That's quite cool, obviously.
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: Brendan, yeah.
- 22:28SPEAKER_03: That's quite cool.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: New like actual information on this podcast.
- 22:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:33SPEAKER_03: Uh so I signed us up as a podcast because I didn't want to use my personal, I don't want to give them my own data, so I gave us them the podcast data.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: Um, I obviously searched for us three as players.
- 22:44SPEAKER_03: I'll talk us through our own stats.
- 22:46SPEAKER_03: You don't worry, your stats are very, very nice.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: Um, so you mall, according to the FIH, has played 133 games, has won 76 of them with a win percentage of 57.1.
- 23:00SPEAKER_03: He scored two goals, which means he's got a games to goal ratio, a goals to game ratio of 0.02.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: Pretty exciting stats on that front.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: Don't worry, you'll just aren't the worst.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: I'll go for mine next because I think Phil's are more interesting than mine.
- 23:19SPEAKER_03: Um with they've split GB in England, so I'll do it combined for mine, and then I'll do it separate for Phil's, and you'll understand why in a bit.
- 23:28SPEAKER_03: Um, I've played 130, so only three games less than you, you.
- 23:34SPEAKER_03: What a loser! I've played I've won 57, so I've got a win percentage of 43.8, which is rather disappointing.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: That's literally a loser.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: Uh one goal and a goals per game ratio of 0.01.
- 23:53SPEAKER_03: What's really disappointing is when you have a goals per game ratio of zero and I play for England.
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: That's really disappointing.
- 23:59SPEAKER_03: And so we move on to Phil's, which is quite interesting.
- 24:03SPEAKER_03: Phil has played for GB 80 times, won 29, has a win percentage of 36.3, not great, scored 24, and has a 0.3 goals per game ratio.
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's a good return.
- 24:17SPEAKER_03: His GB, uh sorry, his England one is even more interesting.
- 24:20SPEAKER_03: He's played 112 times, won 48 games, win percentage of 42.9, scored 28 goals with a goals per game ratio of 0.25.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 24:32SPEAKER_03: Pretty interesting.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: I then did a bit more background research into ropes' goals.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: Turns out he has a he has a habit of being a bit of a clutch man in the fourth quarter for England.
- 24:45SPEAKER_03: Turns out ropes has scored 15 goals in the final quarter for England.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: And I thought that's actually quite a cool stat to know that he's a bit of a clutch player for when he plays for England, and he just needs to find that form for the GB because it's spread a bit more evenly.
- 24:57SPEAKER_03: It's a bit boring that I want I want more clutch plays, Phil.
- 25:00SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm trying to tell you.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Well done, Philip.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Like it is now confirmed that both of you are actually losers.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: Like you you lost more than you won.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: So that so I always everyone always thought it, but now it's confirmed.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: So thank you, Brendan.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: But it's actually quite impressive, Philip.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: You scored quite a lot.
- 25:22SPEAKER_03: What's also quite cool is ropes is eight caps away from getting 200 combined, which I think is pretty damn cool.
- 25:27SPEAKER_02: Well, that's not actually true because I'm one cap away.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: They've oh which tournaments it missed out.
- 25:32SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, did you play before 2013?
- 25:35SPEAKER_02: No, but um I I've been told I'm on 199.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: So there you go.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: That is pretty cool.
- 25:42SPEAKER_03: Well, that's even more information.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: And it might be against you in in a month's time or whatever.
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: That'd be fun, wouldn't it?
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: That would be lovely, Philip.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: Oh, that would really make my year.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: Would make my life, Philip.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: Brendan, that was actually this really, it is really cool.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: It is really cool.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: I didn't know, like, uh, it makes me it makes me it still makes me wonder where was where where were all these goals and clutch when we were at OR, but let's forget about that.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: It's it's impressive, Philip.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Well done to you.
- 26:11unknown: Thanks.
- 26:12SPEAKER_03: It's a badge thing, I think.
- 26:13SPEAKER_03: It's an international badge thing, the old three lions.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: It's no, I think it's probably that you guys played the English Friends tournament against Ghana and against uh Nigeria and shit.
- 26:24unknown: Yes.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: Um, well, that is pretty cool, Brent.
- 26:32SPEAKER_02: I reckon if anyone wants any like we should do like head-to-heads and stuff.
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: You can maybe be in charge of this, Brent, where we can do some head-to-heads and see some.
- 26:40SPEAKER_02: You could even quiz us.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: We could have a we could have an FIH hockey hub quiz where you could be like, who's got a better goals to game ratio, Brendan Creed or Yupe Demol?
- 26:49SPEAKER_02: Now we know the answer now, but you know, you get my drift.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: Before we have a break, I'm very quickly going to seeing as though we've been on the theme of doing the FIFA cards of players uh who've been on the pod.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: I was in charge of doing Flo Van Obles.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: Now we've talked a lot about him, so I'm not gonna go crazy on this.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: I'm just gonna probably rattle through.
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: You can tell me what you think.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: Um, but he obviously deserves a FIFA card, it's an incredible player.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: Now I did put a bit of thought into it.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: I didn't ask him.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: Sorry, you but I didn't go and ask if I could do it.
- 27:21SPEAKER_02: I've just done it, so hopefully it's okay with you, Flo.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: Uh Ruth.
- 27:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: So pace, I gave him 70.
- 27:28SPEAKER_02: Um, I really don't think he's known for his pace.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: Uh but I think he's no he's not really slow, but I don't think he's running around anyone anytime soon.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: I think his footwork is really good, but I think he is he is slow as shit.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: But his footwork is really good.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: He's like he's agile and he can move, but I think he is like in a straight line.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: I think he's like he runs, he runs he's he's shit.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: Um shot, I gave him 88.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: Now I put this down to like I think his shooting being low-key, very, very good.
- 28:04SPEAKER_02: His shooting, you know, you just naturally think of people whacking it from the top of the D, but that's not what Hockey's about.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: It's about the deflections, about the in-close stuff, about the stuff, you know.
- 28:15SPEAKER_02: Is Brendan arguing here?
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: Or you okay?
- 28:17SPEAKER_03: I'd I'd have put it a little bit higher because I think he is better at that technical side of things, but that was yeah, carry on.
- 28:23SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: Passing, I gave him 86, which maybe is a bit high because of how you rated me.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: Because you would go with if we were just doing that, we'd say, Oh, well, he doesn't pass because he's just really good at dribbling and plays up front.
- 28:35SPEAKER_02: But I've seen him make some really nice passes, and I actually rate people who can pass a perfect ball over 10 yards, shockingly.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: Um, so again, you've got a good passing rating from me.
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: Dribble, I gave him 95.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Um, and obviously, I think that speaks for itself.
- 28:52SPEAKER_02: That's his USP.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: I don't think anyone can win the ball off him.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: I think he's basically a magician.
- 28:57SPEAKER_02: Um, and I I couldn't bring myself to go any higher than 95 just because I think then you're getting into really crazy territory.
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: Um, defensive 78.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't really remember him doing much defending, but I'm sure he's okay at it.
- 29:13SPEAKER_02: Uh physically, I gave him 68 because yeah, again, he's a bit of a bit of a skinny man, not sure he gets around the pitch that well.
- 29:24SPEAKER_02: Not sure he's like a pressing animal or anything like that.
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: Overall, I was really on the fence about this because when you compare him to Brinkman, who you gave 90 last week, I was really, really in two minds about where I rate him.
- 29:39SPEAKER_02: But I gave him 91.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: I think you did a a very good job, Philip.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: I think it it they're mostly spot on.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: I guess I think I still no, yeah, okay, there's a but the the the I think the the the he he also has uh not as as much as Bringman, but he also has like qualities which are tough to rate, as in his I think he's also one of like the smartest players, yeah.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Uh so like his isn't he's not a guy who will who will like uh like like his his how how how well he positions, his rebounding, which is like really underrated as well, how often he like comes in front of the goal, like when there's a attacking corner, he comes in front of the goal and whacks it out of the sky into the goal, shit like that.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, I do think, as you said, it's impossible to take a ball off him.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: I've been marking him quite often, and I'm still winning on the first time I actually take a ball off him.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Um, but his yeah, I don't think I don't this the shot, I don't know.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: Uh, I think he has lots of ways to score, but like if as you said, I think you said it well, if you judge it on like his shots, like his hit on goal.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: Uh, he doesn't seem like a guy who has an incredible shot, uh, but he probably still does fine.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and the passing is more of like that's my that's more my personal thing.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: He probably can pass very well, uh, but it's a bit similar to you.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: I don't think he's known for his passing, but more of his dribbling, and his passes are mostly like short give and goes, short passing.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: And when I think of passing, so I had actually had a discussion with Cherry and Chap Hudemax about FIFA cards, and we said, like, like if passing, if you talk about passing, like uh who is like a 94 or in passing or 95, it's like I've seen this weekend is like Artou van Doren, he's known for his passing, that's his USP.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: Like he it doesn't matter where on the field he is, if it's a back end, a forehand, or fake slap, or slap, whatever, he can reach anyone on the field with just one pass.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: So then I think that's like his USP, so that you should rate really high.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: And Van Albow is not that kind of player, if you know what I mean.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: Like, so passing is more of uh it's very useful with him.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: But like when I think of passing, I think more of like the long balls and the uh and like the the the the the actual like yeah the the van Doren kind of pass so maybe that's my fault, but like that's why I don't rate him, wouldn't rate him as high, uh even though he has a good pass.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: Which he never passed.
- 32:14SPEAKER_03: I think that makes complete sense.
- 32:15SPEAKER_03: I think you've rated him pretty fairly filled to be honest.
- 32:17SPEAKER_03: Um one thing I will say is I also did some stats on him because I was intrigued.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: Since 2013, he's played 204 games, he's had 124 wins, so he's had a 60.8 win percentage, and he's scored 60 goals.
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: And I don't think we like for a forward that's not really known for his goal scoring, that's actually pretty impressive.
- 32:40SPEAKER_03: Roughly one every one in three.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: I do think he was because since his since 2014, I don't know how long he's been with the national team.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: But I think he was at the start of the uh the the uprise of Belgium.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think he missed.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: I don't know if he was in in London, but then they still lost like 6-7-0 against teams.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: Um I think he's one of the first, like with Tomas Brios and Felix Naya and stuff.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: He was like the first one to come up.
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's pretty good.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: I enjoyed that.
- 33:11SPEAKER_02: Let's uh we'll be back after great.
- 33:15SPEAKER_02: We're gonna introduce a new segment.
- 33:18SPEAKER_02: It's called Hockey Life.
- 33:20SPEAKER_02: Now, this segment is uh based on the fact that we are professionals, but we live in a mainly amateur world, and so we wanted to introduce and and talk about some of the shit we've got to deal with.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: Um, it might be a hit, it might not.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: Let us know.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: Brendan, do you want to do the first one this week or you pour me?
- 33:38SPEAKER_03: Uh I'll I'll go with the first one.
- 33:40SPEAKER_03: Um one thing that kind of I think it keeps us grounded.
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: So one of the things like I don't know what it's like with the Dutch national team, you but with our national team, we have to obviously practice PCD, which means you have to basically put on a shed load of pads and run at your own teammates who are purposely trying to score past you, which means they flick the ball at you, and obviously your job is to just defend it.
- 34:05SPEAKER_03: Um, now I find it like a really like weird dynamic because you're obviously you're just running at your own teammate who you know is gonna is going almost out of their way to hit you, but you know it's for a benefit, so you know it's it might hurt, it might not, you might get lucky and it doesn't hurt.
- 34:21SPEAKER_03: But there's sometimes where it just hits you and it hurts, and you can't have a go at them because they're doing exactly what you want them to do, but you know full well, it's like a proper like catch 22.
- 34:31SPEAKER_03: Um, and funnily enough, what I love that's budget about it on the back off the back of it is for the last few weeks I've had to take our club PCD kit in because we don't have our own national team PCD kit, so I have to dry it every week, twice a week, in my garage, which I think is quite like proper budget about the sport.
- 34:52SPEAKER_03: Like, you think footballers they'll like go to the changing room, they'll dump their boots off, they've got somebody who picks up their boots, cleans their boots for them, and they're ready for the next session.
- 35:00SPEAKER_03: And I think on the polar opposite side of it, we have to take our own kit, put it in a borrowed bag, you'll dry your box in your garage.
- 35:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 35:08SPEAKER_03: It's just lying there waiting to be used again, sprayed down with disinfectant, the works.
- 35:13SPEAKER_03: Like, I just find it really funny that we're just we're still so budget with certain things, and this is one of the things.
- 35:18SPEAKER_03: Um, but yeah, I find it really weird dynamic the whole PCD, PCA, like the only way you can practice is against your own team, and like it's a really weird dynamic.
- 35:27SPEAKER_03: And I I it just makes me think of like again football, like you've got those metal free kick humans that are all tied like stacked next to each other, so free kick's never against proper players, it's always against those kinds of things.
- 35:38SPEAKER_03: I find it like, yeah, that's just one for me that I just thought is just quite unique to hockey.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: You do you have the same thing?
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: Well, we we we do have uh our our own national team, uh BCD kit.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: Rich bastards, yeah.
- 35:53SPEAKER_00: We like we we do have all the stuff for national team and we keep it separate.
- 35:58SPEAKER_00: Um, so we don't have like personal stuff.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: What I do think is like on the top of that, what is really budget.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: Um, and I I have another one, but I wanted to like uh go in on bread.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: Like we should we so the the the the weird thing about having like a um a PCD kit at national team is that it's not really personal.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: So we also we all like kind of share our cock protector without it ever being washed or anything.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: So like like it's we just we you even kind of like give it to each other, like we take it off, and I always put it like right right on the cock, like no no underwear in between.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: So you just like hand it over to the next guy who also puts it like at his cock.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: I think that's that's like the definition of budget.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: So the whole Dutch national team on penicillin.
- 36:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: And I the funny thing is, you never really or at least I but I don't think about a lot in life, but like you don't really think about it.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: You just you just go with the flow, but I think that's also pretty fucking budget if you think about it, right?
- 37:04SPEAKER_02: I think it's pretty and uh a few years ago.
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: We got asked, we were like, uh, one of our coaches was like, you need to take pride in PCD, you all need to have your own kit.
- 37:14SPEAKER_02: So I want you to go away and source your own kit, buy your own kit, get yourself a face mask, gloves, uh, box, whatever, knee pads.
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: Um, so I went away as the number seven postman for GB, and I I bought I bought some kit.
- 37:31SPEAKER_02: And it's never left my uh my car boot.
- 37:35SPEAKER_02: I've never I've never got it out.
- 37:38SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 37:40SPEAKER_02: Just it's just sat in the boot.
- 37:41SPEAKER_02: And and I tell you what, I take great pride in that.
- 37:44SPEAKER_03: Can we borrow your face mask?
- 37:46SPEAKER_03: Because all the face masks are broken.
- 37:47SPEAKER_03: Can we have one of them?
- 37:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I actually will bring it and give it to you tomorrow.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: Decent.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: I think I I do think I don't know who said it.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: Was it your coach who said that?
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Did it I think he was just a lazy or a cheap fucker who thought, oh, I really have to sell it to these guys to bring their own shit because they're not gonna take it if I just ask them, hey guys, can you please take your own uh corner defense?
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: So let's make a make like a brave heart kind of speech of they have to take pride and defend your country by running down shit with your own bot stuff.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: Well, that was hockey life, and you can chime in with his next week.
- 38:23SPEAKER_03: Oh no, I wouldn't I want to hear you now.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: Oh sorry.
- 38:27SPEAKER_00: I have I have I think I have the winner of all winners because it's like it's not about me, but I think it's the most amateur thing that will ever happen on hockey bench, and it happened this weekend.
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: So I arrived, I wrote, I arrived, I arrived, I came, I went to Blumedal.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: I wasn't Bloomedel.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: And I I like I I like entered the Blumenel facility and I look on the on the on the on the pitch before we are playing, and I see there uh this like uh a 50 and older team playing against another 50 and older team, and I'm looking and I'm seeing and and I'm checking who's the ref.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: I know that ref, I know that walk, and I it is Olympic champion, one of the best strikers in the world, it's Florian Fuchs, who is refereeing a game because he now stopped playing for Blumenau and started like said, ah fuck it, I'll play some games for the second team.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: But part of being on the second team as an Olympian, as an Olympic gold medalist, as one of the best strikers that has ever played on the hockey pitch, he had to referee a game for like the over 50s.
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: You will probably would get yelled at by guys if you didn't see a shoot.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Hey, you fucker, just blow your whistle.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: Like, that's the for me, it's like the epitome of like do you think like I don't want to compare him to Leon Messi, but do you think Messi, after he retires, is going to referee a game of the fifth of like the of like the veterans?
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: I think I thought that was like the epitome of like amateur hour in hockey.
- 40:06SPEAKER_03: He pulls up his long socks, Leo, and gets on umpires where we have to say 100 um 100 Florent Fuchs, umpires in shorts with long socks, 100%.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: It was he was there with his beanie on and like his long and he looked really uninterested, like and fair play to him, like who would be, but like it was so fun.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: I was looking and I was thinking, so it actually doesn't really matter what you do during your hockey career, you could win everything there is to win, you could be the most successful EHL player of all time, but they will still ask you to referee the game on Sunday.
- 40:37SPEAKER_03: I I have to admit though, like I actually he's gone well, not that he was low in my estimations, but he's gone up in my estimations as an Olympic ombatt.
- 40:46SPEAKER_03: He fully buys into the fact that he has to go and umpire a game.
- 40:48SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 40:49SPEAKER_03: Like, he could just pull the card of like, no, I can't be bothered.
- 40:52SPEAKER_03: He's full well gone in, knowing like, oh, this is gonna be crap.
- 40:55SPEAKER_03: But hey how it's part of the job, part of the twos, part of retirement.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: I like yeah, I I loved I love the fact that that he does it and he really he always seemed like a real humble and like down-to-earth guy, but I think it's just it says a lot about our sport that it's that it's that it happens, you know what I mean.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that is that is a great one and fair enough.
- 41:17SPEAKER_02: Um and that is hockey life.
- 41:21SPEAKER_02: Hockey life hockey life right.
- 41:29SPEAKER_02: Um confessions.
- 41:30SPEAKER_02: We've been threatening to do this, so we asked for people's confessions.
- 41:34SPEAKER_02: We got some fucking fantastic ones, so please thank you, Brendan.
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: You've got to put out another one soon so people can keep writing them in.
- 41:42SPEAKER_02: Um I wish that I had a better voice for a confessions with like a podcast type of deal, but I don't, so just bear with me.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: Um obviously we can't say who they're from, I don't think, but we've just got to say the confessions that came in.
- 41:58SPEAKER_02: So one listener wrote I often go a few weeks without washing my match kit, especially if it's a rainy day.
- 42:08SPEAKER_02: Free washing, question mark.
- 42:10SPEAKER_03: That's just rank, isn't it?
- 42:13SPEAKER_03: Just not okay.
- 42:15SPEAKER_03: I know there's like sometimes you get like there's the a shirt or a pair of shorts at the bottom of the bag that you're like, oh, these are rank, but you don't wear it, you're just like, oh, I've they've got to go in the wash.
- 42:26SPEAKER_03: You don't wear match kit for a few weeks.
- 42:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's that's like oh that's that's it's a fucking it's a good start, good confession.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: Like I I always think like my my my glove, like I I don't switch gloves a lot.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: I don't switch gloves, like I have this one that like fits very very well, and it's like all uh but it's it's but sometimes I come back from training and I think ah, what smell?
- 42:53SPEAKER_00: And it's my own hand from like even after a shower, it still smells.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: Do you not wash your glove?
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: No, Brendan.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: What sane person in this world would wash his glove?
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: You are you are rank.
- 43:05SPEAKER_02: I wash my I wash my glove.
- 43:07SPEAKER_02: Wait a minute, Brendan.
- 43:08SPEAKER_02: So you wash your glove, but you keep your mouth gum shield in your sweat band.
- 43:14SPEAKER_03: So funny you say this.
- 43:16SPEAKER_03: I've now been using a gum shield case.
- 43:20SPEAKER_03: I don't have changed man.
- 43:24SPEAKER_03: Congratulations, Brett.
- 43:26SPEAKER_03: So now you can't judge me now because I wash my I wash my glove.
- 43:30SPEAKER_03: I have like three on rotation that I'll wash.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: Uh don't worry, Brendan.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: We will still judge you.
- 43:35SPEAKER_00: But uh fair play to you that you switch your your your I okay.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna only wait.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: Phil, do you wash your your no no I feel like maybe I might start doing that now because I have had the same situation with you.
- 43:51SPEAKER_03: You don't want a smelly hand.
- 43:54SPEAKER_02: Um right the next listener from their confession.
- 43:58SPEAKER_02: I once injected the Badly, so the flicker wouldn't overtake me in a goal tally in our off-seasonal goal tally.
- 44:06SPEAKER_02: That's a good one.
- 44:08SPEAKER_00: I can imagine doing that in a few years.
- 44:11SPEAKER_00: Mate, I don't score goals at all, so why would I?
- 44:14SPEAKER_00: I just gave the whole speech.
- 44:16SPEAKER_00: I just just confessed my love for Sam Lane.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: Do you think I would ever not inject the ball so he wouldn't score?
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but what if you're 7-0 up and you really hated the flicker?
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: But I don't.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: I don't think that's on.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: I don't think I take pride in my injecting.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: It's a good bit of shit, I was read though.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: It I do like the fact that that they confess it.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: I I think it is a real I like I I hate the fact that I like it.
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: I think it's pretty funny that it's like because drag flickers can be real, real fuck ups.
- 44:51SPEAKER_00: They can be divas.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: Drag flickers divas.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: They're fucking divas.
- 44:55SPEAKER_00: You know, that's what I always hate about drag flick.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: Sorry to always when we have to clean up the field, everyone has to clean up, but there's like always the few drag flickers who think it's okay when the rest is cleaning up to do a couple extra drag flicks because they're like, yeah, but we have to trade and get better.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, then first help clean the field.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: And if you wanted to do some drag flicks again, yeah, take some balls and do it after.
- 45:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm I'm with you on that.
- 45:20SPEAKER_03: That is actually annoying.
- 45:22SPEAKER_02: That's good, that's good call out.
- 45:24SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 45:24SPEAKER_02: We'll do two more.
- 45:26SPEAKER_02: I don't know how this one goes in here, but it just says, I'm in love with Phil's wife.
- 45:30SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: I thought it wasn't this wasn't anonymous.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: We'll move on from that one.
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: Um I love you, Nicole.
- 45:48SPEAKER_02: Got a drag flick to the bulls stupidly not wearing a cup and had to get one of them removed.
- 45:55SPEAKER_02: I can still have kids.
- 46:01SPEAKER_02: That's an odd confession.
- 46:04SPEAKER_02: I don't know that's a confession.
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: Why surely everyone knew about it?
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: What do you mean?
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean these probably lying on the floor, but like like having yeah, but you don't know the ads have a ball removed.
- 46:16SPEAKER_02: Fair enough, to you.
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: That's pretty that's pretty kids.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: Are you are you balanced then?
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: Having just one ball.
- 46:27SPEAKER_00: What?
- 46:28SPEAKER_00: It's not like having one leg.
- 46:31SPEAKER_03: No, like like two two balls keeps you in balance off your balance, right?
- 46:36SPEAKER_03: It's just gotta be a Dutch wives' tale, isn't it?
- 46:38SPEAKER_03: This has got to be a Dutch wives tale.
- 46:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's not allowed to go skiing anymore in case he just slopes off the one side, just just falls over every time he stands up.
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: Hey Johnny, you're looking why are you walking so straight?
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, mate, got a ball remove.
- 46:53SPEAKER_02: Oh well, I mean, yeah, this has been the confessions part.
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: I don't know, maybe this will just come back every few weeks.
- 47:02SPEAKER_02: Like I've quite enjoyed reading through them.
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't know what this one means, but the last one is teammate of mine pinched a load of a fresh loaf in the toilets before a match, and then he put hashtag let's get this bread.
- 47:16SPEAKER_02: I I I think that means he nicked some toilet rolls.
- 47:21SPEAKER_03: Oh, I was thinking just had a big old shit.
- 47:25SPEAKER_02: He pinched a fresh loaf.
- 47:27SPEAKER_03: How could that mean he's it sounds exactly although I do like I don't know, just sounds like a word for a pooh.
- 47:36SPEAKER_03: Do you mean yeah?
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: I also took a mess of shit and left it in the toilet, but I just didn't flush.
- 47:41SPEAKER_03: Let's get this bread.
- 47:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like a big dump.
- 47:47SPEAKER_02: Fair enough.
- 47:48SPEAKER_02: Okay, well yeah, I this has been the confessions part, like I say.
- 47:54SPEAKER_02: Let us know if you've enjoyed that or not.
- 47:56SPEAKER_02: It's been quite good fun.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: But we've got to move on to the for everyone's favourite segment.
- 48:00SPEAKER_03: Get us in the coop.
- 48:01SPEAKER_03: Get us in the coop.
- 48:04SPEAKER_03: Here we go.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: Welcome.
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: I I'm a bit I'm a bit overwhelmed by the love for the coop, but I completely get it because it because it's uh it's a wonderful place.
- 48:20SPEAKER_00: It's where magic happens the coop.
- 48:25SPEAKER_00: Um so the first question in the coop ready.
- 48:35SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: Get yourself together, you if you had to that was a huge chicken noise as well.
- 48:41SPEAKER_00: I really like that chicken noise.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: I'm yeah, I'm I I do some bang on chicken noises.
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: Okay, first question in the coup please listen.
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: If you had to choose two partners for a 3v3 tournament of out of all the players you've played with, who would they be?
- 49:03SPEAKER_02: I do have a follow-up question to this.
- 49:06SPEAKER_02: Is it are you are you playing to have fun or are you playing to win?
- 49:10SPEAKER_00: You're playing the new Olympic 3v3 style uh turn and burn and burn uh greatest invention ever sport.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: This is tough.
- 49:26SPEAKER_00: Let's it let's say it's just hockey fives like a kind of hockey fives, but then you play 3v3.
- 49:33SPEAKER_02: The thing is, I can I just be incredibly boring and just say who I would choose straight off the bat.
- 49:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, be yourself, Phil.
- 49:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this is boring, but they're the two of the greatest players I've played with by a mile, and it's uh Barry Milton and Ashley Jackson.
- 49:51SPEAKER_02: Like I will think we'd do alright.
- 49:55SPEAKER_02: I would be the weak link, I'd be fine with that.
- 49:58SPEAKER_02: But we we do we'd do alright.
- 50:00SPEAKER_02: We got I don't care that I don't have a forward or a defender, it's just the fact that them two playing hockey and I could kind of join in occasionally, especially if they're if they I don't know if they're in their prime or not.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: So I'm probably not picking them now.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, prime.
- 50:15SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I think I think we're doing decent.
- 50:18SPEAKER_02: And it was just a just watching Ash play in his prime was was you wouldn't know what you get because it was pretty special every day.
- 50:28SPEAKER_02: Do you do you have to have played with them in their prime?
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: Excellent question, Brendan.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking of it on the spot.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: No, I know what's coming.
- 50:40SPEAKER_02: Toby Halker is gonna come out.
- 50:44SPEAKER_03: No, because I was more thinking if I was to choose Ash, I never played with him when he was in his prime, I only played with him past his prime.
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: No, but no, but just you can choose them and they'll like switch back to their prime.
- 50:57SPEAKER_03: In which case, Toby Hauker.
- 50:59SPEAKER_03: Um and I'm actually struggling for the for the second one.
- 51:07SPEAKER_03: Probably probably Baz, probably Barry.
- 51:12SPEAKER_02: I just can't choose the same person, that's not allowed.
- 51:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 51:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 51:16SPEAKER_03: So you got first dibs, did you?
- 51:18SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 51:19SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, it's eat or get eaten, uh, Brendan.
- 51:23SPEAKER_03: In which case, in which case, good as I'd actually do, I'd actually go gooders.
- 51:29SPEAKER_03: I've I've seen that man dance around people for fun and rub it in their faces.
- 51:33SPEAKER_03: I 100% think he'd put on a show.
- 51:35SPEAKER_03: And uh, yeah, I but I'd go gooders.
- 51:38SPEAKER_03: Halker and gooders.
- 51:40SPEAKER_03: So it's you wouldn't score any goals.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: No, we're not looking to score goals, Phil.
- 51:43SPEAKER_03: We're looking to put on a show.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and also what's a sub myself, but okay.
- 51:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but we defend real well.
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: What a show, a shit show.
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: Um, so it's it's Brandon Creed, Toby Hauke, and uh David Goodfield versus uh Phil Roper, Prime SD Jackson, and prime Barry Middleton.
- 52:19SPEAKER_00: Um, I also thought about it a bit, and um, it doesn't say a lot about me as a hockey player, but I've I've played with quite a few really good hockey players as well.
- 52:29SPEAKER_00: Um I'm I'm going a bit like I'm I could go for the obvious ones, so I could go like Robert van der Horst and Billy Baker, or like Jeroen Hetzberger, but I'm going a completely different route.
- 52:43SPEAKER_00: You go in Rizwan and I wanted to choose, I did want to choose uh Rashid, Rashid Memut, who is the most incredible player I've ever played with, and the nicest guy ever.
- 52:56SPEAKER_00: At least I know I will have an amazing time.
- 52:59SPEAKER_00: So he's the defensive uh player together with me, and then we'll have one striker up front, which is Rob Rekkers, prime Rob Reckers.
- 53:08SPEAKER_00: I think the player who could humiliate players, the best out of everyone I've ever played with.
- 53:15SPEAKER_00: Uh, it wasn't he was really effective because he scored a lot of goals, but it wasn't always the most effective thing, but it was the most beautiful thing to watch, and I think him together with Rashid, I wouldn't do have to do a whole lot, but I think it would look amazing.
- 53:28SPEAKER_02: As normal, like Brendan's got the worst team.
- 53:33SPEAKER_03: Well, it's hard when you take probably two of the best players that I've played with out the equation.
- 53:38SPEAKER_03: It's tough when you're just sucking classic second choice.
- 53:41SPEAKER_03: Always pick second means shit.
- 53:44SPEAKER_03: So bad.
- 53:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: Well, well done, Philip.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: Good for you, Brett.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: Thanks for participating.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: Next question in the coup.
- 53:55SPEAKER_00: It's a bit of an we go 180 degrees to another segment or to another question.
- 54:01SPEAKER_00: Would you kick a six-year-old kid as hard as you can in his nuts to be secured of an Olympic medal?
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: But everyone knows about it.
- 54:11SPEAKER_02: Why why has it always got to be a six-year-old kid with you?
- 54:13SPEAKER_02: What's wrong with the six-year-old kids?
- 54:15SPEAKER_02: Do you have one?
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: He's eight years old.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: Let's make him eight years old.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: I'm choosing it's very it's actually a very humane thing to make him six because he'll probably forget about it when he's like 18.
- 54:26SPEAKER_00: If you make him like 10, it will be a scar for the rest of his life.
- 54:30SPEAKER_00: That's why I think six.
- 54:31SPEAKER_00: Actually, quite a lot of people.
- 54:32SPEAKER_00: But everyone knows is everyone knows the reason we've won an Olympic medal is playing because you're just known as the guy who kicked a six-year-old as hard as he could in the balls, but you did get an Olympic medal.
- 54:44SPEAKER_03: Probably wouldn't kick the kid.
- 54:46SPEAKER_03: That's a reputation that's gonna stop you from getting any job.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but an Olympic medal will get you some jobs.
- 54:53SPEAKER_03: Oh, I don't think it will because they'll forget about that quickly because you kicked a six-year-old kid.
- 54:58SPEAKER_03: I I'm I've got to go for the non-kicking route.
- 55:02SPEAKER_03: Disappointingly.
- 55:07SPEAKER_00: He can be, he's a six-year-old.
- 55:10SPEAKER_02: Mate, the coop's so fucking weird, man.
- 55:13SPEAKER_02: Phil, give your answer, please.
- 55:16SPEAKER_02: There's there's chickens at the bottom, and they're taking themselves seriously.
- 55:20SPEAKER_03: I think Phil's gonna say yes to kicking the kid because he's stalling.
- 55:23SPEAKER_02: I'm just I'm just saying there's there's fucking serious chickens at the bottom level, they're trying to lay their eggs, they're doing the right thing, and then there's the ones at the top, and they they're running around going mental, doing the chicken run, and they're trying to escape, and that's where we are right now, isn't it?
- 55:39SPEAKER_00: The coup is is like it's like society itself.
- 55:43SPEAKER_00: There's some very serious people, some bankers, some lawyers, and everything, but there's also some weird fuckers in there.
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: That's the coup, it's it represents all of the world.
- 55:53SPEAKER_00: Now, let's make it a bit more interesting.
- 55:56SPEAKER_00: You'll get an Olympic gold medal, you win Olympic gold, but you gotta kick with full conviction as hard as you can in his nuts.
- 56:05SPEAKER_03: Can't I can't kick the kid.
- 56:06SPEAKER_03: I can't kick the kid.
- 56:11SPEAKER_00: I'm kicking the shit out of him.
- 56:12SPEAKER_00: Olympic gold.
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: Mate, I'm going for it.
- 56:15SPEAKER_00: The kid will the kid will survive.
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: He'll you're not gonna be able to get the five.
- 56:21SPEAKER_00: You're not you're not killing him.
- 56:23SPEAKER_00: He won't die, or he won't have it's he'll he'll well, you're not 100% sure that he won't have any like side effects of it, but like it's it's because you kick him as hard as you can, but like still like I'm taking a risk.
- 56:36SPEAKER_00: Olympic gold, mate.
- 56:37SPEAKER_00: That's fucking unreal.
- 56:38SPEAKER_03: No, I'm not kicking the kid, I'm sticking by it.
- 56:42SPEAKER_03: Still they don't get an answer from you.
- 56:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, a few weeks ago I beat the shit out of loads of kids, but I don't think I can do it today.
- 56:50SPEAKER_02: No, no, yeah.
- 56:51SPEAKER_03: If you said like punch him in the arm as hard as possible, I'm on board.
- 56:55SPEAKER_03: I think kicking him in the balls is just not on.
- 56:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, everyone knows that.
- 56:59SPEAKER_02: That's how they treat you for the rest of your life.
- 57:00SPEAKER_02: It's like there goes that guy.
- 57:02SPEAKER_03: How many random people do you think would come up to you in the street and kick you in the balls because of it?
- 57:06SPEAKER_03: Because I think there's more people than you'd expect that would happily just run up to you and boot you because you've done it to a kid.
- 57:13SPEAKER_00: I'm taking it.
- 57:14SPEAKER_00: Uh my Olympic gold medal around my neck.
- 57:18SPEAKER_03: Is that again, it's hockey, so people won't really know you in the streets, you might get away with it a bit more.
- 57:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and like, is it that big of news?
- 57:26SPEAKER_00: I think everything passes, everything will pass.
- 57:28SPEAKER_00: Like, at a certain point, people will stop remembering you for the guy who kicked the kid in his balls and will just think, hey, it's an Olympic gold medalist, what a legend.
- 57:37SPEAKER_00: On a side note, he kicks someone in his balls, but hey, that kid also turned out to be an amazing uh scientist or whatever.
- 57:44SPEAKER_00: Next question in the coup the last question of today in the coop.
- 57:49SPEAKER_00: Um, if you could trademark uh a celebration, so let's say uh from an NBA player or like a Premier League player, which would you which would it be?
- 58:04SPEAKER_00: Oh so if you could get like the the the um the uh Carmelo Anthony 3 like on his head, or like uh um the Mbappé uh uh shrug or whatever, or the MJ Shrug.
- 58:18SPEAKER_03: Do you know what celebration I used to watch over and over again as a kid?
- 58:21SPEAKER_03: I thought it was fucking cool.
- 58:23SPEAKER_03: Do you remember Robbie Keane, footballer?
- 58:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he used to go into like yeah, so he used to go into a cartwheel into a forwards roll and then give it like two hands towards as well.
- 58:34SPEAKER_03: Like oh, it's class.
- 58:36SPEAKER_03: It's a proper serious celebration.
- 58:37SPEAKER_03: That I used to think as a kid that was the coolest thing.
- 58:40SPEAKER_03: I tried it once, obviously didn't land the cartwheel, so couldn't do the rest of the celebration.
- 58:45SPEAKER_03: So it's kind of like it was a bit disappointing, but like I still think if there was one celebration that I would like really love to have nailed, it would have been that.
- 58:54SPEAKER_00: I think that was such a cool that's a good one, but that is then that so that's the thing, it's known as like your celebration, and it's it's like it gets its thing with it.
- 59:02SPEAKER_03: I think I think that was quite a cool celebration, kid.
- 59:05SPEAKER_03: So I'm choosing that.
- 59:05SPEAKER_03: That would be my pattern.
- 59:07SPEAKER_00: I I would have you more as like a Peter Crouch, the robot kind of guy, but I really like this one for you.
- 59:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it kind of works for you.
- 59:15SPEAKER_02: I it's hard to trademark that, like, asn't like you will trademark it, but it's not like people are going around being like, oh, let's do a Brendan Creed because it's just so much effort, and yeah, but still, fuck you.
- 59:27SPEAKER_00: It's my question and it's my coop.
- 59:29SPEAKER_00: It is, it does work like that.
- 59:31SPEAKER_00: Kids around the street will do the Brendan Creed, yeah.
- 59:34SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 59:34SPEAKER_00: Where are you going?
- 59:35SPEAKER_02: I'm saying they'll do their Brendan Creed, but I'm just saying not many kids can do cartwheels, so they probably I left out on you, Phil.
- 59:43SPEAKER_00: That was not my intention.
- 59:44SPEAKER_00: That's the problem.
- 59:45SPEAKER_00: You're one of the crazy chickens in the coop.
- 59:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's the coop.
- 59:48SPEAKER_00: If coop does so crazy things with you, well, you don't move your he's the one pecking his em feces in the corner, and he I really do.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, this is like so basketball and nerdy, but I love the ice in my veins thing.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_03: Oh, D Lo.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's that's a good celebration.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, although to be honest, I really like the shrug, and I have pulled out the shrug once before the MJ Shrug.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_02: That was cool.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_02: But I mean it did work.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_02: We were winning 5-1 against Argentina.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_02: It was cringe, yeah, very cringe.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_02: I like I like both of them.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_02: I'll have the I'll have the shrug.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the MJ Shrug, I think that's the cool that in my opinion, that's the coolest celebration at like the moment against the Trailblazers.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_00: Like that is the coolest moment.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_00: I really like I'm everything in me says the LeBron silencer, the battle of the chest.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_00: That yeah, that to me might be the one.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, that's yeah, I gotta stick with that.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_00: I think that will be mine.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_00: That's fair.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_03: I'll be honest, lads.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_03: I'm disappointed you've not been as creative as me, but whatever.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_03: We'll move on.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Brendan.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_00: I think for the first time in history of let's stick together questionnaires, coops, shit or hits, or anything.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_00: You you you won by a mile.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_00: Well done to you, Brendan.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_00: You see, the coop could even make Brendan win.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_02: What a place.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_02: I want the guy, the Aussie guy at hockey where he did the kayaking on the on the advertising boards.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_02: Can I have that one?
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's also I think that's orchards, right?
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_03: I don't think it was Orchard, but no, I think I think Orchard was the um the pipe, the snake charmer.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_03: And the the who was the one who like bit this is also a good one.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I did kayaking on advertising boards.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's me.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_03: It's a winner, it's a win-win.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_02: Should we we'll leave the coop?
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_02: It's been as normal, a bit mental in there.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_02: We'll do a very quick uh couple of shittle hits.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_02: So if you got any guys, or should I go?
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_00: If you have some, you can go.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_00: I also have one, but you can go first.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_02: You go, you're on a roll.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_02: No, you go.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_02: Um I had shit or hit like carrying on complaining and bitching umpires when you're winning like six to eight nil.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's pretty it's pretty shit.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_00: I have a bit deja vu, didn't we say this one already?
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_00: Didn't we?
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_03: I think I've heard this one, but I think it's um I I can I can I I'll can I go on top of it then?
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_03: Because we haven't discussed this, is not complaining to the umpires in the in the clubhouse after the game, but when you're talking through decisions after the game.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_03: That for me is like a big like uh we we need to sort out our priorities.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_03: That's not the time to have that conversation.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_03: I think it's a bit of a shit.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_02: You does that every week, so you can't you can't.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_02: I I'm with you, Brendan.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_02: I think it's really shit.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_02: Like you need to sorry, you but you need to get over it.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_02: Like, you can't control anything that's happened, you can't change them.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_02: They don't they don't automatically can't reverse time and give you a corner of a free hour or whatever you want.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_02: I'm always looking at the people doing that, being like, it's not worth it, and you know, just sit and enjoy a beer or a coke and just just just chill out.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_00: I'm with you, I'm just thinking losers, yeah.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_00: I I from my my head agrees with you because I always think it's senseless, but I just don't want to let let them get away with everything they do, sometimes they gotta be held responsible for the things they do.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_00: Like, I've like this.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_03: I don't think they care that it's you that's trying to hold them responsible.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_03: I think that's the problem.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_00: I know, but if everyone thinks that no one is doing it, I'm doing the people's job.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_00: No, seriously.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_00: This Sunday, for instance, um uh we had two referees, and the thing with what they did is, and I actually really appreciated it, they didn't see everything.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_00: I don't think they had their best game, but they were like honest and open about they said, Yeah, I'm sorry I was in the wrong, or I'm sorry, I just didn't see it that way.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_00: Then I'm completely fine.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_00: Then I'm like, okay, it's possible that you don't see shit.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_00: The the arrogant motherfuckers that go around and thinking that that that that they are always in the right, and that they're and I actually once asked the referee, I said, mate, I play bad games.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I play really shit games.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_00: I I'm not the best every game, 100%.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_00: But then I admit that I'm shit.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_00: Like, did you honestly think you had a good game today?
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_00: And he said to me with with like a straight straight head, he said, Yeah, I gave a good advantage on that play.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_00: I gave two really good cards, I had a good game.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_00: Like for me, a good game is when you see shit, when you see shit and handle it correctly, not when you gave advantage or not.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_00: Oh if it's a bit I feel I said too much.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_00: I feel I'm yeah, but mate, I just no one keeps them responsible, they just gotta get away with everything.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, it is shit to do that, but I will continue to do the people's work.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna I'm gonna let you finish off.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_02: Let's do our last shit or hit of the day, and we'll get out of umpires you um my corner.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_00: I like umpires by the way.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_00: They're I'm in their corner right now.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_03: Absolute horseshit.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_03: Come on.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_00: No, I love umpires, absolute horseshit.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_00: Come on, yellow fuckers are doing great.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_00: I love you.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_00: You're do your shittle hit.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I had a shit or hit.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_00: Um, a man bun.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, for fuck's sake.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_03: That fucking rant.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_03: You then go to that.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_03: We all know it's shit.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_03: Can we move?
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_02: Why are you doing it then?
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_03: Oh, Phil, I'm sick of you with your fucking Elvis perm.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_03: Fucking sick of you, mate.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_03: You I'm sick of your fucking emo quiff, mate.
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_02: No, no, no, no, no, brilliant.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: All emotional rockers.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_03: Let's move on.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_03: Be honest, be honest.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_03: Oh, it looks decent on my head, but for most people, can't pull it off.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_03: I remember when you tried to tie yours up, Phil, and it looked awful.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_02: Mate, that is low.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_02: True?
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_02: True or not?
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_02: Uh once in lockdown.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_02: It was a bad day.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_02: It was a dark day.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was a dark day.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_02: But yeah, Brendan's Brendan's copped a lot of shit there.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_02: I don't like recently at training, you can't you can't do right, can you, for that, for your hair.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_03: I've just every single day someone's told me that I've had a new haircut because they tell me it looks shit.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_00: Brendan my week.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_00: Because I didn't give my verdict yet.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_00: I think it is mainly shit, but on you it's a hit.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_00: It actually looks good on you.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_00: Um unsincere, I I mean it.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_03: Hey, next time I see you, I'll get you a coffee.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_03: How's that?
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're going from a five to a six with the man button.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_00: So no, no, I'm not gonna be.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_03: Right, we've completely lost ourselves.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_02: This has been episode eight of Lex Stick Together.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_02: It's been it's been a fun ride, and uh hope you enjoyed it.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_02: We'll be back next week for more trivial nonsense.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_02: See you guys.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_00: The coup is is like it's like society itself.
