- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is magic.
- 0:04Speaker 2: 94.9. I've been sitting on this idea all morning, Abby,
- 0:07Speaker 2: and I want to share it with you because we
- 0:08Speaker 2: could finally talk about this on the podcast. You know how, like,
- 0:12Speaker 2: when we look at the numbers to the podcast, and
- 0:14Speaker 2: there's so many incredible listeners that listen from, like, the
- 0:18Speaker 2: ATL area.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Shout out Hotlanta.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I think that is so dope. First off, thank you
- 0:23Speaker 2: for following Abby on her journey. And what if, because
- 0:27Speaker 2: this is our place to shoot out ideas. Okay. What
- 0:29Speaker 2: if we took a trip to Atlanta and did, like,
- 0:31Speaker 2: a live, like, Scotty and Abby unfiltered, like, hangout with
- 0:34Speaker 2: the Atlanta fam?
- 0:35Speaker 1: I think the people would love that. I do, too.
- 0:37Speaker 1: The people yearn for an unfiltered live.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, like, just to be able to say, one, thank you.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I mean, even if you don't live in the Tampa
- 0:43Speaker 2: Bay area, we could go at least travel, and I
- 0:45Speaker 2: would love to be able to meet, especially... I was
- 0:47Speaker 2: just looking at so many of the comments, and there's
- 0:49Speaker 2: just so much love for you, Abby.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Aw, well, thanks, guys. And I really don't know what
- 0:53Speaker 1: I did on The Burt Show to even warrant people
- 0:55Speaker 1: following me. Like, I look back and I'm like, you know,
- 0:58Speaker 1: I don't share as much on air here in Tampa
- 1:01Speaker 1: because it's just not the format of our show. But
- 1:03Speaker 1: I'm like, I feel like. People have never heard more
- 1:06Speaker 1: of me because there's just so many more outlets for
- 1:08Speaker 1: me to do stories and stuff. So I appreciate that
- 1:11Speaker 1: you came over here, even though I was like the
- 1:13Speaker 1: least relevant person on that show.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Oh, obviously you made a splash and people want to
- 1:18Speaker 2: support you. They want to listen. But also it would
- 1:20Speaker 2: be so cool. And I wanted to shoot that to
- 1:22Speaker 2: you and get your thoughts because I want to pitch
- 1:24Speaker 2: that to our boss.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, aren't we supposed to go to Atlanta for
- 1:27Speaker 1: like a planning thing in December or November?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe. I think things are thrown out, but then
- 1:32Speaker 2: the schedules get busy. I know. But we should make
- 1:35Speaker 2: that an opportunity to say, why don't we use that
- 1:38Speaker 2: to go ahead and connect with the fam since literally
- 1:40Speaker 2: so many of you are in the Atlanta area.
- 1:43Speaker 1: The ATL area. Well, I'm always looking for an excuse
- 1:45Speaker 1: to go see my pals in Hotlanta. So I think
- 1:49Speaker 1: the people would be interested.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I like that. Okay, cool. Because I've been thinking about
- 1:52Speaker 2: the podcast and how it's growing because recently there was
- 1:55Speaker 2: this event in Tampa or it was actually in St.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Pete this year, but it's like this Tampa Bay food
- 1:58Speaker 2: fight and all these restaurants come out. And I was
- 2:01Speaker 2: thinking about how can we get these other local spots involved? And,
- 2:04Speaker 2: you know, in the Tampa area. And one of them
- 2:06Speaker 2: was you heard us talk about this on the podcast
- 2:08Speaker 2: months ago. But having like little businesses set up in
- 2:12Speaker 2: the actual studio with us and making like a whole
- 2:14Speaker 2: bit out of it. And the first one was like
- 2:16Speaker 2: us being in battle with our break room, which.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. We have the world's worst.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Well, OK. No, I take that back.
- 2:22Speaker 1: We don't we don't have the world's worst break room.
- 2:26Speaker 1: We have the world's. most unprofitable break room because every
- 2:32Speaker 1: time you try to buy something, the machine goes, sure.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Are you sure you want that? And it will either
- 2:39Speaker 1: not scan it or it'll take like 10 years or
- 2:41Speaker 1: it'll scan it like three times. And then you have
- 2:43Speaker 1: to like exit it out. And then that takes another
- 2:46Speaker 1: two minutes. It's horrible. And so I had an idea.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I was like, we should really set up like a
- 2:50Speaker 1: coffee shop in our studio and see if we can
- 2:52Speaker 1: outsell the break room.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Well, I pitched that idea to one of the biggest
- 2:55Speaker 2: coffee shops in the Tampa Bay area called Kawa Coffee. Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 2: And the owner was so on board.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I think we should do it.
- 3:01Speaker 2: He was like, I'll set up in there. We'll get
- 3:02Speaker 2: the whole setup that we have here at this event.
- 3:04Speaker 2: We'll set it up in your studio. And what I
- 3:05Speaker 2: was thinking is, what if we did that for, like,
- 3:07Speaker 2: just different kinds of businesses? Like, one day on a
- 3:10Speaker 2: Monday when, like, the whole team is here, we have
- 3:12Speaker 2: a coffee shop in the corner. It's like Hawa on
- 3:14Speaker 2: one Monday. The next Monday, it's like, I don't know,
- 3:17Speaker 2: Gateway Subs, and they want to give out little breakfast sammies.
- 3:19Speaker 2: But we invite all the sales team, and so as
- 3:20Speaker 2: the podcast is going on, people are just coming in
- 3:22Speaker 2: and out and in and out, and we try to
- 3:24Speaker 2: beat the break room. Which I will say, that has
- 3:27Speaker 2: a whole new setup right now. Like, we got, like,
- 3:28Speaker 2: the fanciest Keurig and the little K-Cup things.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out to them for upgrading our Keurig. It's crazy.
- 3:33Speaker 1: It went from being... undrinkable to slightly drinkable.
- 3:38Speaker 2: But also, I'm going to have to put a picture
- 3:40Speaker 2: of this somewhere. But I also want to acknowledge some
- 3:42Speaker 2: of the comments. A lot of y'all have heard us
- 3:44Speaker 2: mention the video. We are going to start getting those
- 3:45Speaker 2: videos up. Yes, 100%. That is a promise. So we
- 3:48Speaker 2: will start getting those up soon on the Instagrams and
- 3:51Speaker 2: the YouTubes and the TikToks. But what they did today,
- 3:54Speaker 2: and I'm curious if you noticed this, Abby, like the
- 3:56Speaker 2: K-Cup holders.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah, the organizational thing looks so much better. Shout out,
- 4:00Speaker 1: is it JoJo that's in charge of that? Shout out JoJo.
- 4:02Speaker 2: It looks so good.
- 4:03Speaker 1: She's the office manager. I don't know what her official
- 4:05Speaker 1: title is. I just know her as JoJo.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, no, JoJo just does everything.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Shout out JoJo.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It's just kind of funny. Like I saw this morning
- 4:10Speaker 2: as I walked in and I was like, I don't know,
- 4:13Speaker 2: 18-year-old me would not care one bit. Nearly 30-year-old me
- 4:17Speaker 2: is so ecstatic. I'm like, wow, look at the organization
- 4:19Speaker 2: of this place.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I know. We're really growing here.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Really stepping up, which is crazy, though, because, I mean,
- 4:25Speaker 2: it seems so small of a difference. But I could
- 4:28Speaker 2: think back to when I first came here, and it
- 4:29Speaker 2: was crazy. I mean, JoJo does the Lord's work of
- 4:32Speaker 2: getting this place clean, organized, stocked up with things. It
- 4:36Speaker 2: was not always like that. So we have come a
- 4:38Speaker 2: long way.
- 4:39Speaker 1: We really have. Thank you, JoJo, that we didn't have
- 4:41Speaker 1: to suffer through that anymore.
- 4:43Speaker 2: So on the last few podcasts, there's a couple things
- 4:45Speaker 2: that I want to first off say thank you for
- 4:47Speaker 2: commenting on because y'all's comments, I think really like I
- 4:50Speaker 2: love when you join the conversation and Because I think
- 4:54Speaker 2: it puts it in a position that, oh, wait, I
- 4:55Speaker 2: didn't think you thought about it like that. In one
- 4:57Speaker 2: of the last podcasts, we talked about you getting off
- 5:01Speaker 2: the apps. And you're officially off Hinge, correct, Abby?
- 5:03Speaker 1: I am officially off. it's off my phone okay that's
- 5:08Speaker 1: i think my profile still exists but that's fine yeah
- 5:10Speaker 1: because someone's like no i'm just not looking at it
- 5:14Speaker 1: yeah i'm just not looking at it it's not like
- 5:16Speaker 1: the healthiest thing to continue looking.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Down yeah yeah when we talked about this i was
- 5:19Speaker 2: so curious about what the people's response is going to
- 5:22Speaker 2: be because usually you talk about stuff like that and
- 5:26Speaker 2: people will say no don't give up on love keep.
- 5:29Speaker 1: The apps like she's given people enough chances That's literally
- 5:32Speaker 1: the comment. She's done her best.
- 5:35Speaker 2: And I think what I found so just fascinating as
- 5:37Speaker 2: I see a Courtney comment that says, I think it's
- 5:39Speaker 2: a great idea to delete the apps at least for now.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Get out there. Live your best life. Being single is
- 5:45Speaker 2: so peaceful. Don't settle. I know people who found their
- 5:49Speaker 2: person in their 40s. What I also found very interesting.
- 5:53Speaker 1: That's a long way away. I know.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Well, you know what? Maybe the 30s is about to
- 5:56Speaker 2: kick some ass.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 5:57Speaker 2: We'll see. That's what I'm banking on because so many
- 5:59Speaker 2: people have told me because I'm oh my God, am I,
- 6:02Speaker 2: I'm just over a month away from being 30. Oh,
- 6:05Speaker 2: but what so many people have told me is that
- 6:07Speaker 2: your thirties are really like the, that's like the cream
- 6:11Speaker 2: of the crop.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Like, you know, the twenties are fun, but you're kind
- 6:14Speaker 2: of bumbling around. You're figuring out how to be an adult.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And your thirties, you're like, I make better money now.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And I have a lot more experience to not make
- 6:21Speaker 2: the same mistakes that I did in my twenties. But
- 6:23Speaker 2: what I also found fascinating is some of these comments.
- 6:27Speaker 2: First off, we're saying, oh, this one's good. Christine said,
- 6:30Speaker 2: I have an aunt who has been single practically my
- 6:33Speaker 2: whole life. And honestly, I envy her for not settling
- 6:38Speaker 2: just to be married. It's my biggest regret.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 6:42Speaker 2: These comments.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I know this is supposed to make me feel better,
- 6:44Speaker 1: but it's not. Oh, really?
- 6:47Speaker 2: I found it cool of the comfort that people are like,
- 6:49Speaker 2: wait a second. I think what you're doing is the
- 6:51Speaker 2: exact thing that either I wish I would have done
- 6:54Speaker 2: or the people that I see doing it. are the
- 6:56Speaker 2: happiest in the friend group.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Here's the thing. I'd rather be complaining about this than
- 7:00Speaker 1: complaining about some loser named Jason that I'm, you know.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Yeah, like hitched up to. You got a kid and
- 7:06Speaker 2: you're like, I don't even like that man anymore. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 1: So like I'm choosing the lesser of two evils, but
- 7:10Speaker 1: it's tough out here. I just had a text conversation
- 7:12Speaker 1: with my friend Taylor. Like this all literally just transpired
- 7:15Speaker 1: in the last 30 minutes. Oh boy. She met this
- 7:18Speaker 1: guy on Raya, which by the way, I can't get
- 7:21Speaker 1: on Raya. They won't let me on Raya.
- 7:22Speaker 2: That's ridiculous.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'm convinced my husband's on Raya and that's why I
- 7:25Speaker 1: haven't met him because they won't let me on.
- 7:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I applied when I was like 21 or something and
- 7:30Speaker 1: I don't know what I said in my application, but
- 7:31Speaker 1: it fucked me over. But she went out with this
- 7:35Speaker 1: guy and she said it went pretty well and he
- 7:37Speaker 1: asked her out again to a concert. They live in Nashville.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So he bought tickets last minute to go see Tucker
- 7:42Speaker 1: Wetmore and One other person. I think Tucker was the headliner.
- 7:46Speaker 1: But anyway, she's like, yeah, I'll go see this concert.
- 7:47Speaker 1: She's like a yes girl. So she said she had
- 7:51Speaker 1: such a great time at the concert. She literally texted me.
- 7:53Speaker 1: She's like, I felt like such a teenager. It was
- 7:55Speaker 1: so fun. And we were really expecting this just to
- 7:59Speaker 1: at least be a good situation. Like, is it it?
- 8:01Speaker 2: Is it the one? We don't know.
- 8:03Speaker 1: She felt pretty good about the whole situation because, you know,
- 8:05Speaker 1: who's going to ask somebody that they're not interested in out?
- 8:08Speaker 1: on a second date to a concert. Yeah. Because you're
- 8:10Speaker 1: easily spending $ 300 to $ 400 on this date.
- 8:13Speaker 2: And it's a lot of time, too. Like, that's an investment.
- 8:15Speaker 1: It's a lot of time.
- 8:15Speaker 2: It's like hours on time.
- 8:16Speaker 1: So anyway, he takes her out on this date. She
- 8:18Speaker 1: said it went pretty well. And he ghosted her.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I can't... It's so wild that that's talked about so
- 8:23Speaker 2: much and it still happens.
- 8:24Speaker 1: It's... Well... it's just crazy to me. Like, why would
- 8:27Speaker 1: you ask out a girl to a concert and spend
- 8:29Speaker 1: this amount of money just to never see her again?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Because you would think you would feel pretty confident about
- 8:35Speaker 1: somebody that you would want to go out to a
- 8:38Speaker 1: concert with for a significant amount of time, for a
- 8:41Speaker 1: significant amount of money, and to just completely ghost her.
- 8:44Speaker 2: And, like, why would you, I guess, like, what could
- 8:46Speaker 2: have happened during a concert that made you want to
- 8:49Speaker 2: now step away?
- 8:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and she's a very normal, like, you know, you
- 8:52Speaker 1: all have, everybody has that friend where you're like, okay, like,
- 8:55Speaker 1: This girl's crazy. Of course, he's going to find out.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So it's a very normal, attractive girl. And so I said,
- 9:02Speaker 1: I need you to send me a screenshot of him
- 9:04Speaker 1: so I can roast his ass.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So she sent me a screenshot of his profile and
- 9:09Speaker 1: he looks like just a very normal dude. Like, honestly,
- 9:12Speaker 1: if she said she was dating this guy, I'd be like,
- 9:13Speaker 1: good for you. He seems like a cool dude. But
- 9:15Speaker 1: because now we know that he's a psycho.
- 9:18Speaker 2: It pays all this money to, but what if he's
- 9:20Speaker 2: just doing it just so he didn't have to go alone?
- 9:22Speaker 2: Like he was that uncomfortable doing things alone. That's what
- 9:25Speaker 2: I brought up.
- 9:26Speaker 1: That's what I brought up. But she said he bought
- 9:27Speaker 1: the tickets the day before. Like he asked her out.
- 9:30Speaker 2: He didn't need to go. Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 1: He didn't like need to go. And so, I mean,
- 9:32Speaker 1: maybe he was really wanting to see Tucker Wetmore.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I mean, love Tucker Wetmore, but you think he would
- 9:38Speaker 1: have had tickets by now anyway. So these are the
- 9:41Speaker 1: roasts that I sent to her about him. I said,
- 9:43Speaker 1: number one, he looks like he had an uncomfortable obsession
- 9:46Speaker 1: with World War II in high school.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Oh, Jesus.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Okay. Number two, he would definitely unironically wear cargo shorts
- 9:53Speaker 1: when you took your kids to Disney. Oh, yeah. When
- 9:55Speaker 1: you take your kids to Disney. You gotta think long
- 9:57Speaker 1: game like not just who is this person at 31
- 9:59Speaker 1: but who's this person gonna be at 41 100 this
- 10:01Speaker 1: is a cargo short man oh yeah yeah yeah uh
- 10:04Speaker 1: number three definitely would bust too early um for sure
- 10:09Speaker 1: i was looking at i was looking at his jaw
- 10:11Speaker 1: development i'm like he's for sure gonna have to use
- 10:13Speaker 1: a c-pap for his later in life diagnosed sleep apnea.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I gotta see what this guy looks like.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And he looks like a normal dude. And then number five,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I was like, you don't want to spend your holidays
- 10:24Speaker 1: in blank. It's not a desirable state.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. That's so crazy to me. It's like,
- 10:30Speaker 2: why in your.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of how to say this politically correct.
- 10:35Speaker 2: But it's just like such a weak man thing to say,
- 10:37Speaker 2: all right, I'm just never going to talk to you again. Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 2: it's so weird. Like just say goodbye. I don't know.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Just have the mature conversation.
- 10:43Speaker 1: But also it would be fine if he had just ghost,
- 10:45Speaker 1: maybe not fine, if he just ghosted after a second date,
- 10:48Speaker 1: it'd be disappointing. But we don't understand why he asked
- 10:50Speaker 1: her out to the concert.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's weird.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Would you have asked a girl out to a concert
- 10:53Speaker 1: on a second date if you didn't want to see
- 10:55Speaker 1: her for a third?
- 10:56Speaker 2: 100% not. Like a concert's a big commitment.
- 10:58Speaker 1: It's a big commitment.
- 10:59Speaker 2: We had friends that their first date was at like
- 11:01Speaker 2: the Savannah Bananas.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:03Speaker 2: And that's a big commitment. Like, you're literally at a
- 11:05Speaker 2: stadium together. You're going to be there for hours. You're
- 11:08Speaker 2: in close quarters.
- 11:09Speaker 1: But to be fair, those tickets are only like $ 25.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Oh, that's true.
- 11:12Speaker 1: And you get a free meal or something included.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Okay, well, in that case, I mean, yeah, you're going
- 11:16Speaker 2: to spend all that money just to walk away. That's
- 11:18Speaker 2: what makes me think, like, they just have a serious
- 11:20Speaker 2: problem about being alone.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I know.
- 11:21Speaker 2: And they really wanted to see Tucker. Listen, I don't
- 11:23Speaker 2: blame him.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Tucker's a great performer. His back muscles go crazy.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Ha! Was, I don't know, was your girl like thirsting
- 11:32Speaker 2: over Tucker and he got jealous during the show?
- 11:34Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I don't think so either.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I don't think so either. I mean, maybe, but she
- 11:37Speaker 1: said that she had a great time with him and
- 11:39Speaker 1: I was like, okay, giddy up. And so I was
- 11:42Speaker 1: getting excited for her. I'm like, maybe men don't suck.
- 11:45Speaker 2: You start to have hope again.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I had hope for her. I was like, if I
- 11:47Speaker 1: can't have hope for myself, I have hope for her.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And then when she texted me that this morning, she goes,
- 11:51Speaker 1: he officially ghosted. I was like, are you freaking kidding me?
- 11:54Speaker 2: That's so wild. I know. And I guess it does
- 11:57Speaker 2: make it feel a little better because it's like you're
- 11:59Speaker 2: not the only one going through it. Of like, gosh,
- 12:01Speaker 2: damn it.
- 12:01Speaker 1: But that's what I mean. So like whenever I would
- 12:03Speaker 1: get comments like a year or two ago, people were like,
- 12:05Speaker 1: maybe you're the problem. Or maybe you're not giving people chances.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I'm like, I have so many... beautiful, talented, wonderful gal
- 12:12Speaker 1: pals who are in the same position as me. Like
- 12:15Speaker 1: they haven't dated someone somewhat seriously since their early 20s.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yep.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And, you know, we've just gone our entire, like, last
- 12:22Speaker 1: 10 years being like, where are they at? Where were
- 12:24Speaker 1: the men that we were promised?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah, all these movies made it seem like they're just
- 12:28Speaker 2: going to come out of nowhere. I know. Yeah, we
- 12:30Speaker 2: have a friend that's doing the same exact thing. Like,
- 12:32Speaker 2: I can't wait to get the updates on the dating stories.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Is this our mutual friend, your girlfriend's best friend? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Where it's like the same situation where it's like you
- 12:40Speaker 2: go on these dates and you're just smacking your forehead
- 12:43Speaker 2: of like, how?
- 12:44Speaker 1: How?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Like you look so normal. Yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Well, wasn't, didn't she have the story about the guy
- 12:49Speaker 1: that peed in her dishwasher?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 12:51Speaker 1: She got too drunk and it was at her house
- 12:53Speaker 1: and peed in her dishwasher.
- 12:54Speaker 2: That blows. I just don't know what goes through. Like
- 12:56Speaker 2: I've done dumb shit. Like I can't say I haven't. Yeah.
- 12:59Speaker 1: What's the dumbest thing you've done while drunk?
- 13:01Speaker 2: While drunk? Oh God.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Oh man.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Let me think about this one. Actually, that's, I'm glad
- 13:07Speaker 2: you brought that up because one of the things I
- 13:08Speaker 2: saw today that I didn't, there's definitely not enough time
- 13:10Speaker 2: for it in the show, but Like the new trend
- 13:13Speaker 2: right now, you've probably seen this on TikTok, is the
- 13:15Speaker 2: wellness darties. Oh, yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Those are literally at UF.
- 13:19Speaker 2: That's so cool.
- 13:20Speaker 1: It's so funny to me that people are, like, I'm
- 13:23Speaker 1: seeing Elle magazine interviews where they're bringing it up to celebrities. Like,
- 13:28Speaker 1: this thing that's happening at my university, at fraternities I
- 13:30Speaker 1: used to party at. I'm like, this thing is taking off,
- 13:34Speaker 1: the wellness darty at UF. And it's such a UF.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Thing to do. Yeah, and now because UF is going
- 13:39Speaker 2: to do it, you know that's just going to spread
- 13:40Speaker 2: like wildfire.
- 13:41Speaker 1: 100%.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Every school is going to be jumping on this. And
- 13:43Speaker 2: I was laughing as I'm reading about it today. And
- 13:44Speaker 2: I have seen the videos. Where it's like college kids
- 13:48Speaker 2: are waking up early. They're going to go run a
- 13:50Speaker 2: 5K or do a Pilates class on the front lawn
- 13:52Speaker 2: with like a fraternity and a sorority. Uh-huh. And then
- 13:55Speaker 2: they're going to go get like a matcha afterwards.
- 13:58Speaker 1: No, they're not. They're going to the bars.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 14:00Speaker 1: That's what's so funny is everyone's like, oh my God,
- 14:02Speaker 1: when I was at UF, we were... I'm like, trust me,
- 14:05Speaker 1: they're doing that too. They're just doing it after this.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Ah, okay. At least they're starting with something healthy.
- 14:10Speaker 1: But I think it actually goes to show more of
- 14:12Speaker 1: Tampa's influence. Because I feel like wellness Darties are so
- 14:15Speaker 1: big here in Tampa. I haven't seen them be big
- 14:18Speaker 1: anywhere else. Like in Atlanta, we didn't have any kind
- 14:20Speaker 1: of wellness Dartie situation. But they're really big here, and
- 14:23Speaker 1: I think because Tampa has such a big influence on UF, like,
- 14:27Speaker 1: everybody I knew in Greek life was from Tampa.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I feel like they're watching their older sibling graduate and
- 14:34Speaker 1: do the wellness dardies, and some social chair at Pi
- 14:37Speaker 1: Kappa Alpha is doing the same thing.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that trend more.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But that's what everybody's doing at, like, Friday Stairs. They're, like,
- 14:42Speaker 1: hooking up with people there, or, you know, they're getting...
- 14:46Speaker 1: a Bellini afterwards, you know? Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Okay. Cause that makes more sense. Cause I saw that.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I was like, well, I mean, there's still college kids
- 14:51Speaker 2: at the end of the day, but those are like
- 14:53Speaker 2: my most drunk memories. Like I, we were not waking
- 14:56Speaker 2: up and go to a class at 8am.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Felt nearly at 9am. I could never at 10am. Now
- 15:03Speaker 2: think about your life.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I didn't, I never scheduled anything before 11.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah. See, I used to try to think, cause
- 15:08Speaker 2: I've always been that like, yes I can. And so
- 15:10Speaker 2: I'd be like 8am class and I'd miss it. Probably.
- 15:12Speaker 2: 50% of the time. Yeah. Now we get up at
- 15:14Speaker 2: four and it's a whole different story. But in college,
- 15:17Speaker 2: those are my most drunk memories. And like, I didn't
- 15:19Speaker 2: do anything too horrendous, but I do remember like, I
- 15:21Speaker 2: don't know, like putting on like beer boxes over your
- 15:25Speaker 2: head and like boxing your fraternity brother. Like dumb little thing.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah. It's just dumb as hell.
- 15:30Speaker 2: It's dumb as hell. It's like super stupid stuff. Like
- 15:32Speaker 2: I had guys that would do way dumber or get
- 15:34Speaker 2: like way sicker. I never got seriously injured, which I'm
- 15:37Speaker 2: so grateful for. I do remember like running through the
- 15:39Speaker 2: rain and, As it's just like coming down in the
- 15:41Speaker 2: middle of a hurricane through the yard of the fraternity
- 15:43Speaker 2: after hitting the bar that just closed because of the storm.
- 15:46Speaker 2: And like falling into a bush. And I had a
- 15:48Speaker 2: moment with myself where I was like kind of drunkenly thinking,
- 15:51Speaker 2: I should just sleep here. This is where I should live.
- 15:54Speaker 1: This is where I live now.
- 15:55Speaker 2: This is where I live now. And thank God I didn't.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I got up and I ran into the house. But
- 15:59Speaker 2: I remember waking up and my jeans were just covered
- 16:02Speaker 2: in dirt. My shirt was completely ripped. That was something
- 16:05Speaker 2: a lot, though, I do remember, like, clothes getting, like,
- 16:08Speaker 2: this sounds so weird, but, like, ripped off. Like, that
- 16:10Speaker 2: was the thing for dudes. Come up and, like, just
- 16:12Speaker 2: rip your shirt, and then you'd just be rocking with
- 16:14Speaker 2: your buttons all popped up or the back of your
- 16:16Speaker 2: shirt completely ripped open. Weird things. Yeah. But that didn't
- 16:19Speaker 2: last long. Like, I stopped getting like that for probably after, like,
- 16:24Speaker 2: I don't know, 22, 23. I was like, I gotta, well,
- 16:27Speaker 2: then I started this job, and it was very hard
- 16:28Speaker 2: to go out at night. Yeah, that kind of ruined it.
- 16:30Speaker 1: It does ruin it.
- 16:31Speaker 2: But anyway, with the wellness darties, I love that trend.
- 16:34Speaker 2: At least the UF is doing it. I think they're
- 16:36Speaker 2: probably going to start doing it here. And it has
- 16:37Speaker 2: to be so easy. If you're a UT kid, a
- 16:39Speaker 2: UTampa kid, you're probably just going to the ones that
- 16:41Speaker 2: are just popped up around the city.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Well, the cold tub people would be smart. The people
- 16:44Speaker 1: that already do it would be smart to just partner
- 16:46Speaker 1: with a fraternity and make money that way.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Wait, should we do that? Should we start a side business?
- 16:52Speaker 2: Honestly, yes. If we could. We host the.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Cold tub parties for the 20-year-olds.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I mean, like, look, we had a whole meeting about this.
- 17:01Speaker 2: That would be cool. It's so trendy. You partner with, like, us,
- 17:04Speaker 2: a gym, and a college.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Wait, we really should do that.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I know. This is, like, the whole idea session.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Magic949, Wellness Doherty.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Yes. Wait a second. There's legs there.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Listen, I'm the logistician. Oh, wait, should we talk about that?
- 17:16Speaker 2: We could. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yesterday, we had a big planning meeting in downtown St. Pete,
- 17:21Speaker 1: and we had to take our personality test. I'm sure
- 17:24Speaker 1: you've probably done it at some point. It's the Myers-Briggs.
- 17:27Speaker 1: 16 personalities test I got one that I wasn't expecting
- 17:31Speaker 1: because I took this test in high school and I
- 17:33Speaker 1: got INFJ I remember thinking oh my god I'm the
- 17:36Speaker 1: most rare personality type I'm so special I am chosen
- 17:40Speaker 1: one look at me go and I took it twice
- 17:42Speaker 1: two days ago and I kept getting the same thing
- 17:44Speaker 1: I'm like that's not.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Me That's so funny that you took it. So you
- 17:47Speaker 2: say you took it twice.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I took it twice.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I feel like that's a very you thing to do. Like,
- 17:51Speaker 2: I'm going to double check. I'm just going to make sure.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. I'm like, this is a fluke. And then
- 17:55Speaker 1: I got the same answer twice.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I was like, I'm going to go ahead and run
- 17:58Speaker 2: through this thing real quick. I know. And if that's
- 18:00Speaker 2: what it says I am, I'm not going to fight it. Yeah.
- 18:02Speaker 2: But yours was, what was shocking to you about the
- 18:04Speaker 2: logistics side of it?
- 18:05Speaker 1: It just seems, I think because I identify so much
- 18:08Speaker 1: as a creative person that when I got so the
- 18:11Speaker 1: name of my personality type is the logistician. So logistics
- 18:16Speaker 1: essentially that I was like, that's not me. That's like
- 18:19Speaker 1: for somebody who works in accounting.
- 18:20Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yeah. Somebody that's sitting there
- 18:22Speaker 2: crunching numbers. Very good with the spreadsheet.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Also, I can't, I don't know what the personality type
- 18:27Speaker 1: is for it. What is INFJ called? INFJ personality type.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I don't even remember mine. I just know mine was
- 18:34Speaker 2: a campaigner.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Yours was a campaigner, yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I don't know the letters.
- 18:36Speaker 1: So INFJ is either the advocate or the counselor. And
- 18:40Speaker 1: I think I maybe identified with that a little bit more.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Like always being the person that people go to for advice.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Like for example, my friend got ghosted and she told me.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I'm like, well, I have no advice other than the
- 18:50Speaker 1: fact that this man sucks.
- 18:51Speaker 2: So I'm just going to roast him.
- 18:53Speaker 1: So it's like logistically, here's why this relationship wouldn't work out.
- 18:57Speaker 2: And I think it could tap into your creative side
- 18:59Speaker 2: because a lot of the things that we do socially
- 19:02Speaker 2: or even the way your social is it's very like
- 19:05Speaker 2: thought forward yeah it's strategic it's not ever just a
- 19:08Speaker 2: random like i'm very much of a get it move
- 19:12Speaker 2: on keep going kind of guy yeah where it's it
- 19:14Speaker 2: takes me a lot to sit down and like think
- 19:15Speaker 2: through something which i think that does help in your
- 19:18Speaker 2: creativity because you're like all right we're gonna think through
- 19:20Speaker 2: how is this social post gonna go we're gonna do
- 19:22Speaker 2: this this this and i have this idea for this
- 19:25Speaker 2: here's how it's going to run through yeah so it's
- 19:27Speaker 2: not just like the boring glasses on hidden numbers.
- 19:29Speaker 1: On the keyboard excel spreadsheet you've.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Like actually it's almost like a superpower it's like i'm
- 19:33Speaker 2: going to take the creative side and i could really
- 19:35Speaker 2: make this shine if i just think through how it's
- 19:37Speaker 2: going to logistically go.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Very true so i guess i do identify i think
- 19:41Speaker 1: the more we talked about it yesterday i was like
- 19:42Speaker 1: oh i am more logistic key.
- 19:43Speaker 2: That's i actually have a problem usually with titles because
- 19:46Speaker 2: sometimes titles could put us in a position of like
- 19:48Speaker 2: yeah oh i'm this way and i will always be this.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Way do you identify as the campaigner.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yeah i mean when i think about it i don't
- 19:54Speaker 2: know what does a campaigner mean to you because for
- 19:55Speaker 2: me i think of like a rah-rah i'm gonna be
- 19:58Speaker 2: the head forward big idea guy and then let everybody
- 20:00Speaker 2: else kind of figure out the details for it yeah 100.
- 20:02Speaker 1: So i feel like that's very accurate to you and
- 20:04Speaker 1: then alexia our co-worker what did she get I don't remember.
- 20:08Speaker 1: She was like.
- 20:08Speaker 2: It was very similar to mine.
- 20:10Speaker 1: It was like the visionary or something like that. Like
- 20:12Speaker 1: the big dreamer.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Or whatever. I don't remember the exact phrase for it,
- 20:16Speaker 2: but I do remember, like, as everybody said theirs, it
- 20:19Speaker 2: matched up perfectly. Yeah, yeah. Like, when you look at
- 20:21Speaker 2: how the whole thing kind of flows.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Our boss is the architect. Yes, which.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Thank God, the person that's in charge of pulling all
- 20:27Speaker 2: the strings here.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Can you imagine if she was like, I'm actually... I'm
- 20:33Speaker 1: the creative... I don't know.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I don't even know what the other one is. I
- 20:37Speaker 2: don't think I would be in that position. I'm more of...
- 20:41Speaker 2: Like we have a guy in our building. We can
- 20:43Speaker 2: talk about him, right? Like Phil, I can probably say Phil.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Phil Becker. Yeah. Our new, um, VP of audience growth.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. There you go.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I feel like him and I would see very eye
- 20:53Speaker 2: to eye on, I don't know what his is.
- 20:55Speaker 1: You think he's a campaigner? Let's email him.
- 20:58Speaker 2: What is your logistic? But for me, I'm like, that's
- 21:01Speaker 2: like me where it's like, get up. Yeah. Here's all
- 21:03Speaker 2: the crazy ass ideas. And I have no idea how
- 21:05Speaker 2: to make any of it work. That's where I was like, okay,
- 21:07Speaker 2: that sounds right. Yeah. And I did see a lot
- 21:09Speaker 2: of the weaknesses matched up perfectly where I looked at
- 21:12Speaker 2: and it was like a weakness might be you might
- 21:14Speaker 2: start and stop or unfinished a lot of work. And
- 21:18Speaker 2: I was like, that's so spot on.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Oh, wait, side note. Are you starting a podcast? I
- 21:21Speaker 1: am starting a podcast. You said nothing about it. I
- 21:24Speaker 1: just was in Italy and I was like, what is
- 21:26Speaker 1: he recording? So if you don't follow Scott on Instagram,
- 21:28Speaker 1: Scott was posting photos of him. recording something. And I
- 21:32Speaker 1: was like, is this a podcast?
- 21:33Speaker 2: I decided to go ahead and start my dare to
- 21:35Speaker 2: dream podcast. Okay.
- 21:36Speaker 1: So are you going to finish it?
- 21:37Speaker 2: Yes, I will finish it. That's actually so funny that
- 21:39Speaker 2: you bring it up because this has been something that
- 21:41Speaker 2: I've wanted to do for years. I've always had the idea.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I didn't know logistically how to do it, but I
- 21:48Speaker 2: happened to have the space for this recording. And I
- 21:51Speaker 2: was like, well, let's just go ahead and turn it
- 21:52Speaker 2: into a podcast. So I had a couple interviews and
- 21:55Speaker 2: now I just have to be ahead of time of
- 21:57Speaker 2: scheduling people, which is not my favorite thing to do.
- 22:00Speaker 2: but getting people lined up and booking the space to
- 22:02Speaker 2: continue doing it. Yeah. But now that I've started, now
- 22:05Speaker 2: I know how the vision is going to go. But
- 22:06Speaker 2: for so long, it was like kind of tapping into
- 22:08Speaker 2: a side of me that just felt not imposter syndrome,
- 22:11Speaker 2: but like, I just didn't feel like I knew enough
- 22:13Speaker 2: about where I wanted to go with the vision.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 2: But now I could see the vision playing out.
- 22:16Speaker 1: But I mean, that's important to know, like having the
- 22:19Speaker 1: end in sight. Cause otherwise you can start it and
- 22:21Speaker 1: then you can get halfway through and go, uh, I'm
- 22:24Speaker 1: lost now.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Like even if it's short lived, like maybe it's, Like
- 22:27Speaker 2: that's the thing I told myself. I was like, look,
- 22:29Speaker 2: maybe if it's the chapter of 10, 10 great interviews
- 22:31Speaker 2: that somebody could listen to. And the goal is that
- 22:34Speaker 2: it's going to take people that tap into different people's lives.
- 22:36Speaker 2: So maybe you're the entrepreneur and you just feel so
- 22:39Speaker 2: stuck in your journey. And now you're listening to somebody
- 22:41Speaker 2: that's gone through those same battles. Here's what they've done.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Here's what you could learn from. And here's some of
- 22:45Speaker 2: the challenges that you might face and how to overcome it.
- 22:48Speaker 2: It might be somebody dealing with some really tough, like
- 22:51Speaker 2: just mental battles. And you might be in the same position.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Hearing somebody makes you feel like you're not alone. Like
- 22:58Speaker 2: those are the things that I grew up listening to.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And I still do when you listen to like, gosh,
- 23:03Speaker 2: there's like a lot of people listen like the Mel
- 23:05Speaker 2: Robbins podcast where it's maybe it's not necessarily her advice,
- 23:08Speaker 2: but she brings on experts in that field. And that
- 23:11Speaker 2: for me, I was like, oh my God, I needed
- 23:13Speaker 2: somebody for that. Or I remember she talked about one
- 23:15Speaker 2: in relationships like years ago and I was not in
- 23:18Speaker 2: a good place. And hearing those conversations, I was like, wow,
- 23:23Speaker 2: I feel like I could really resonate with this. And
- 23:25Speaker 2: it's giving me the tools to help me get forward
- 23:27Speaker 2: in it. My goal is I can get people earlier
- 23:30Speaker 2: in that process. Because what I don't like is sometimes
- 23:33Speaker 2: I look at these big celebrities, these big names, and
- 23:35Speaker 2: they have it all figured out. And so I can't
- 23:37Speaker 2: relate to them. What I want to do is like
- 23:39Speaker 2: break it down to the basic level. If you want
- 23:41Speaker 2: to start that journey and you're now watching me, I'm like, okay,
- 23:44Speaker 2: wait a second. He's taking a step of action. I'm
- 23:46Speaker 2: going to take a step of action. I'm going to
- 23:48Speaker 2: take another one. He's going to take another one. So
- 23:50Speaker 2: we're going through the process together instead of being like, well,
- 23:52Speaker 2: I can't do it. I can never do it. He's
- 23:54Speaker 2: already way ahead. He's probably had it all figured out.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Nope.
- 23:57Speaker 2: You're going to watch this seed go from a little
- 23:58Speaker 2: stem to a couple of leaves and maybe a fruit.
- 24:01Speaker 2: So yeah, it is officially started. And the goal is
- 24:03Speaker 2: like every month, take the studio space, get like four
- 24:06Speaker 2: interviews in and then release it. So the beginning of October,
- 24:10Speaker 2: there'll be a big release.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Cool.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Hopefully.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Well, I'm excited to see it once you finish it.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Well, I mean, there'll at least be some that are
- 24:17Speaker 2: actually released. I'm not just recording this. But that's also
- 24:20Speaker 2: like one of my techniques is if I announce it,
- 24:23Speaker 2: Then I have to follow through. Yeah. Because it's so
- 24:25Speaker 2: easy for me to like in my head, big idea
- 24:28Speaker 2: and never go forward with it. Because then it's like, well,
- 24:30Speaker 2: I don't say anything. Nobody knows. Like that's why like
- 24:33Speaker 2: this whole 100 mile run. I've had that idea for years. Yeah.
- 24:37Speaker 2: But I knew that if I say that thing out loud, well,
- 24:41Speaker 2: now people are going to be like, when are you
- 24:43Speaker 2: going to do it? And my biggest fear is that
- 24:47Speaker 2: somebody is going to give up on their dreams and
- 24:49Speaker 2: Because I failed on mine. Does that make sense?
- 24:51Speaker 1: You think people will look into you like Jesus?
- 24:53Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. Like I'm such a big voice
- 24:57Speaker 2: of like I truly believe anything's possible. Yeah. And so
- 25:00Speaker 2: if I can't do something, I can't say that. How
- 25:03Speaker 2: am I going to be able to back that up
- 25:05Speaker 2: if I'm stepping away from my goals?
- 25:06Speaker 1: You think somebody's going to give up on their dreams
- 25:08Speaker 1: because you couldn't run 100 miles?
- 25:10Speaker 2: No, not that I couldn't, but I didn't try. Like
- 25:12Speaker 2: if it's. My fear is that if I fail, then
- 25:16Speaker 2: somebody won't even try to go after theirs because they're like, oh,
- 25:18Speaker 2: my gosh. Well, he's the one that used to say
- 25:20Speaker 2: anything's possible. And obviously it's not. So I guess I
- 25:23Speaker 2: shouldn't even try either. These are the things that I
- 25:25Speaker 2: think about.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Well, I love it. That's motivating you.
- 25:27Speaker 2: It is. And that's why I say it all to say, like,
- 25:29Speaker 2: I said it out loud. I put the post up
- 25:31Speaker 2: for the Dare to Dream podcast because I'm like, if
- 25:32Speaker 2: it's up there. Now people can hold me accountable for it. Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 2: There's no going back now. I at least got to
- 25:38Speaker 2: release the four episodes that I recorded.
- 25:39Speaker 1: What's the farthest you run? Have you even, have you
- 25:42Speaker 1: broken 25 miles yet? How do you even train for
- 25:45Speaker 1: a hundred miles? Like do you just run and then
- 25:47Speaker 1: one day you just go for a hundred miles?
- 25:49Speaker 2: I definitely will have to just go for it that day.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I won't run a hundred miles until that day, but
- 25:53Speaker 2: what I'll do is like leading up to it. It's
- 25:55Speaker 2: like adding on every week is a little bit more.
- 25:57Speaker 2: So like this week I'm going to try to hit
- 25:59Speaker 2: like 24, 25 miles in one week. So it's like
- 26:02Speaker 2: five miles a day. So my legs are kind of
- 26:04Speaker 2: just getting used to it. As the weeks go on,
- 26:07Speaker 2: then it'll turn to like, all right, now 35 miles
- 26:09Speaker 2: in a week, 50 miles in a week. So now
- 26:11Speaker 2: I'm doing like 10 miles a day, which compounds. So
- 26:16Speaker 2: eventually my body's going to get strong enough. And then
- 26:19Speaker 2: I'll probably the farthest I'll run is maybe like a
- 26:21Speaker 2: 60 miler.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:23Speaker 2: As I'm getting way closer, like this is way down
- 26:26Speaker 2: the line. The farthest I've ever run is 46 miles
- 26:28Speaker 2: in my life. That was a couple years ago.
- 26:30Speaker 1: That sounded really significant. I mean, some people can't even
- 26:32Speaker 1: run one mile.
- 26:34Speaker 2: For a long time, I used to say I wasn't
- 26:35Speaker 2: a runner. I never thought I would be this guy.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden, I just started going.
- 26:39Speaker 2: And it's not like I love it. Like some people
- 26:42Speaker 2: love it. I don't love it all the time. I
- 26:44Speaker 2: think I love it like 40% of the time.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I just like to set the big goal to say- 40%.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Of the time and it hits 100% of the time.
- 26:50Speaker 2: That's exactly right. Yeah. And then it actually kind of
- 26:53Speaker 2: feels good. But as long as there's a goal, I'm like,
- 26:54Speaker 2: all right, well, I want to do this and will
- 26:56Speaker 2: I ever do it again?
- 26:57Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Probably not. But I like the competitive side of it.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I like the goal side of it to see if
- 27:02Speaker 2: it's actually possible. And then in April of next year,
- 27:05Speaker 2: we'll find out that it's possible. That's at least how
- 27:07Speaker 2: I say it in my head. Anyway, how are you? Well, sweet.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I'm doing good. Just helping my friend Taylor through her
- 27:14Speaker 1: breakup issue. Just kind of living, living, getting back from
- 27:18Speaker 1: Italy and just kind of getting back into the routine
- 27:20Speaker 1: of things. I like having a routine and I'm happy
- 27:24Speaker 1: to be back in it.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I saw. OK, first off, there's two things that it's
- 27:27Speaker 2: all because we talked a lot about a month from now.
- 27:29Speaker 2: I'm going to be 30. And one of the coolest
- 27:32Speaker 2: birthday ideas just popped up on my TikTok. And this
- 27:35Speaker 2: was so like a 30-year-old perfect, 30 to 40-year-old that
- 27:38Speaker 2: I'm going to just share with you. They surprised this
- 27:41Speaker 2: guy at a Costco. So this wife set up an
- 27:45Speaker 2: entire surprise party at a Costco, but it was done
- 27:47Speaker 2: in the most genius way. So as they're shopping, she
- 27:51Speaker 2: wakes them up early. Like, we got to go shopping
- 27:53Speaker 2: at the store. What she set up with her friends
- 27:55Speaker 2: is that, all right, in aisle six, you're going to
- 27:58Speaker 2: be here, Timmy. And aisle nine, Jennifer, you got to
- 28:01Speaker 2: be here. And so I was watching this video just
- 28:04Speaker 2: dying of laughter because this guy's going through. He's like, oh,
- 28:07Speaker 2: my God, Tim, what are you doing here? And they
- 28:10Speaker 2: embrace and they have a whole moment. And then they
- 28:13Speaker 2: go down aisle nine and it's like they're just shopping,
- 28:15Speaker 2: but running into each one of his best friends. And
- 28:18Speaker 2: it turns out that it was all a surprise party
- 28:20Speaker 2: planned for him. on the most mundane situation. Because usually
- 28:23Speaker 2: the surprise party, you walk into somebody's house, surprise, it's
- 28:26Speaker 2: all done.
- 28:26Speaker 1: I'm just surprised they were able to get 10 people
- 28:28Speaker 1: without Costco cards into Costco. Have you ever been to Costco?
- 28:32Speaker 1: It's literally like trying to get into a club in Miami.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I love it. I love the Costco lifestyle.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but if you don't have a card, they
- 28:38Speaker 1: treat you like you're a member of Al-Qaeda and it's TSA.
- 28:43Speaker 1: What are you doing here? Get out.
- 28:45Speaker 2: You're not getting into the club.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Let me search your bag.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I was dying laughing. I was like, that is such
- 28:49Speaker 2: a genius adult way to have a party. They all
- 28:51Speaker 2: had the little Costco pizza at the end. To celebrate,
- 28:54Speaker 2: but like putting people into the store so you're just
- 28:57Speaker 2: like randomly running into them. Because you know how exciting
- 28:59Speaker 2: it is to see somebody that you know out in
- 29:01Speaker 2: the wild? You didn't plan it. You weren't, I guess,
- 29:04Speaker 2: going for it. But then running into all of your
- 29:06Speaker 2: friends at once? Keep that on the birthday registrar. The
- 29:09Speaker 2: other one is the Florida Georgia Line announcement. Did you
- 29:12Speaker 2: see this? Florida Georgia Line, they're actually announcing a tour.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Are they back together?
- 29:16Speaker 2: They're back together.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Did they get over their political differences?
- 29:18Speaker 2: I don't know. You know, this is why I want
- 29:20Speaker 2: to bring it up. Because when an artist goes through
- 29:22Speaker 2: a separation like that and they all of a sudden
- 29:23Speaker 2: come back together, my first thought is they have to
- 29:27Speaker 2: be doing this not just for the love of the game.
- 29:29Speaker 2: There's money problems, right?
- 29:31Speaker 1: Oh, 100%. It's like why I feel like the Jonas
- 29:33Speaker 1: Brothers have been on tour for 15 years. And also,
- 29:35Speaker 1: didn't you say Bruno Mars was 50 million dollars in
- 29:38Speaker 1: debt he there is.
- 29:39Speaker 2: A rumor and i think he actually kind of admitted
- 29:41Speaker 2: it was true that he was like 15 million dollars
- 29:43Speaker 2: in gambling debt that's crazy but i think i mean
- 29:45Speaker 2: he said it on stage i just saw the.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Video and then he goes on tour and he's like
- 29:48Speaker 1: he's fine yeah.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah like he's gonna be a-okay and with all his
- 29:51Speaker 2: number ones but he said on tour he's like man
- 29:53Speaker 2: i cleared out that you know that gambling debt a
- 29:55Speaker 2: long time ago i'm all good say they make a
- 29:57Speaker 2: joke about it on stage but I saw Florida Georgia
- 30:00Speaker 2: Line and for me when I got my license and
- 30:03Speaker 2: I want to see like what were the songs or
- 30:05Speaker 2: the artists that you listen to that you snap back
- 30:07Speaker 2: into that moment because Florida Georgia Line was that for
- 30:10Speaker 2: me like I remember being 16 and like.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Gosh baby you're a song you make.
- 30:16Speaker 2: That brings me right back to like driving to my
- 30:19Speaker 2: high school and they were like the biggest thing ever
- 30:21Speaker 2: then I saw they broke up in 2022 political differences
- 30:25Speaker 2: but now four years after they're coming back together and
- 30:28Speaker 2: they're actually going on tour.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Thank God. Although do you think it's one of those
- 30:32Speaker 1: things where again, it's for the money and then you're
- 30:33Speaker 1: going to see them on stage and they're going to
- 30:34Speaker 1: be on completely opposite ends of the stage?
- 30:37Speaker 2: That's what I'm thinking.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Like they can't stand each other?
- 30:38Speaker 2: That's what I'm thinking. Like why all of a sudden
- 30:40Speaker 2: are you deciding, you know what, we have to get
- 30:42Speaker 2: back together? Because they did try to do their own
- 30:44Speaker 2: independent things and it didn't do anything. Like, I mean,
- 30:48Speaker 2: maybe Tyler, whatever his name is, Tyler Hubbard had like
- 30:51Speaker 2: one song that did decent. Yeah. And I think the
- 30:53Speaker 2: other guy just like had nothing that really popped off.
- 30:56Speaker 2: So either they drained all their money and they have
- 30:59Speaker 2: no option except for just to do this again, have
- 31:01Speaker 2: a little excitement, one tour. Because it seemed like those differences,
- 31:04Speaker 2: like they're never getting back together. But if they have,
- 31:07Speaker 2: you know, rekindled that relationship, good on them.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Maybe they have. Or maybe they're just really willing to
- 31:13Speaker 1: do whatever it takes to get out of debt. Or
- 31:15Speaker 1: they miss their lifestyle. I mean, once you get attached
- 31:18Speaker 1: to a certain kind of income and then that starts
- 31:20Speaker 1: to dwindle, I'll look past anything.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, absolutely. I mean, even if it's just getting
- 31:24Speaker 2: on stage, there's so many artists that we'll never know,
- 31:27Speaker 2: like truly just despise each other, like especially bands.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Oh, for sure. But I mean, I feel like they
- 31:31Speaker 1: go through phases where, I mean, if you're on tour,
- 31:34Speaker 1: like let's say it's a boy band like Backstreet Boys
- 31:36Speaker 1: or something. You're with those people constantly. There's always going
- 31:39Speaker 1: to be little feuds and stuff.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah, like that's normal human behavior.
- 31:42Speaker 1: And don't Hall and Oates hate each other?
- 31:44Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know. Are they still doing a thing?
- 31:46Speaker 1: I don't know. Are they still alive? I can Google that.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Bands that hate each other. Bands and artists.
- 31:53Speaker 2: That just do it for a paycheck. I'm sure there's
- 31:59Speaker 2: a lot of the older bands now that are going
- 32:01Speaker 2: back on tour that are truly not.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Oasis, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, Van Halen, Simon and Garfunkel.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Notice how it's always like a duo? Elton John versus
- 32:13Speaker 1: Rod Stewart, but they didn't work together.
- 32:14Speaker 2: That's fascinating. I guess if you're always with each other,
- 32:18Speaker 2: you probably don't really like each other. You're like, I
- 32:20Speaker 2: need space. Well, anytime you listen and you want to
- 32:23Speaker 2: leave a comment, please do. You can do it on Spotify.
- 32:26Speaker 2: We are going to have these videos starting to get posted,
- 32:27Speaker 2: so if you're not already following... either the magic 94
- 32:30Speaker 2: on Instagram. That's probably where a lot of them are
- 32:32Speaker 2: going to get put up first. And then we got
- 32:35Speaker 2: to figure out the whole YouTube situation so we can
- 32:37Speaker 2: have full episodes there. Thanks for being a part of it.
