- 0:04Speaker 1: show on demand on the iHeartRadio apps.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Last time I went to vote, I walk in and
- 0:14Speaker 2: you have to give your name and then what's your name,
- 0:16Speaker 2: and then they check it against an address and your name,
- 0:18Speaker 2: and I said, I'd like to show you my ID
- 0:21Speaker 2: that I'm really William Handle. They go, now, we don't
- 0:23Speaker 2: want to see it. Literally said I this is the poolworker.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I don't want to see it. And we almost had
- 0:31Speaker 2: a fight over it, and he refused to look at
- 0:34Speaker 2: my driver's license, straight out refused, and.
- 0:36Speaker 3: You were shoving and you were like, look at it.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I almost crammed it down his throat.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:45Speaker 1: Bill Handle. All right.
- 0:48Speaker 2: It is a Thursday morning, June eleven one. Everybody Handle morning, crew,
- 0:56Speaker 2: and we are on our way at another show. And
- 1:00Speaker 2: this week we still have Michelle. Michelle is a filling
- 1:04Speaker 2: in for Anne Michelle.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Good morning, good morning.
- 1:07Speaker 2: And is back on Monday, if I'm not mistaken correct
- 1:10Speaker 2: and Neil and who Neil is back on Monday.
- 1:13Speaker 4: But talking to him, he is doing well.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I'm waiting for him to have a sugar dump, which
- 1:20Speaker 2: in the world of bariatric surgery, if you put a
- 1:22Speaker 2: little bit too much sugar in your stomach, first of all,
- 1:26Speaker 2: you puke, your brain's out whatever is there. And even
- 1:29Speaker 2: if you have nothing in your stomach, you're puking nothing.
- 1:32Speaker 5: I remember you going through those.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Here, A lot of fun, A lot of fun.
- 1:36Speaker 5: Broom.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Yeah, not only that, I mean sweating.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It was just horrible. And the problem is I love sugar,
- 1:44Speaker 2: you know, I love desserts. That I was eating desserts
- 1:47Speaker 2: before I should have so as airport with mine. I
- 1:50Speaker 2: think I shared this with my partner and best friend Sable.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:54Speaker 4: I hit, I hit, literally, I was on the ground.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I looked like I was doing the funky Chicken, was shaking,
- 2:00Speaker 2: and people thought I was in the middle of a
- 2:03Speaker 2: Grandma seizure. And of course Sable, we're just laughing hysterically
- 2:07Speaker 2: as what he does. We both decided that it's when
- 2:12Speaker 2: one dies, the other one will do the comedy act
- 2:15Speaker 2: at the funeral.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Uh okay, So there is Heather Brooker is.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Here and you're here all through this week, yes, and
- 2:29Speaker 2: uh next week correct okay.
- 2:32Speaker 6: And then if Amy moves to France, then I'll be
- 2:35Speaker 6: here the week after that.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Yeah, is Amy thinking of moving to France?
- 2:39Speaker 3: I think she would like to.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I've got a Yeah, I've got a wife who is
- 2:43Speaker 2: absolutely crazy about moving to Italy.
- 2:45Speaker 4: M h, it's.
- 2:48Speaker 3: What is it about Italy she loves.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I don't know, you know, it's one of those things. Uh,
- 2:54Speaker 2: I've had two of those people in my life. When
- 2:59Speaker 2: when I first took Lindsay to Italy, and she had
- 3:01Speaker 2: never been, She's always wanted to go. She studied opera,
- 3:06Speaker 2: as matter of fact, she was operatic studies. Her voice
- 3:08Speaker 2: is just insane, it's like beyond comprehension good. And she
- 3:12Speaker 2: had rented a place in Florence twenty something years ago
- 3:16Speaker 2: to live and study opera in Italy, where of course
- 3:20Speaker 2: opera is at is the King of the Hill there.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And she couldn't go because she had some heart problems.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I had to have a surgery and so she never went.
- 3:29Speaker 2: So she was desperate to go. And when we went
- 3:32Speaker 2: for the first time, she literally we got off the plane,
- 3:35Speaker 2: we jumped into a taxi to go to the hotel.
- 3:38Speaker 2: As we're driving to the hotel, she's looking around and saying,
- 3:42Speaker 2: this is home, this is home. It's one of those
- 3:46Speaker 2: weird you know, Kumbaia moments where I don't know, it's
- 3:51Speaker 2: just sort of.
- 3:52Speaker 3: She felt a connection to the land.
- 3:54Speaker 4: No, she felt that she was Italian.
- 3:56Speaker 2: And the same thing happened with Marjorie Maya first where
- 3:59Speaker 2: we went to Greece and she said this is home.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Weird.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I go to those countries and the first thing
- 4:08Speaker 2: I think is how much is dinner gonna cost me?
- 4:11Speaker 6: I knew you were gonna say it.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Listen, it's expensive. It's expensive over there.
- 4:17Speaker 4: It can be also, it can be very cheap.
- 4:19Speaker 1: You know that.
- 4:20Speaker 2: In Italy, wine, for example, decent wine is cheaper than
- 4:24Speaker 2: coke at dinner. Oh yeah, yeah, you can get rid
- 4:27Speaker 2: of it, like with everything. Yeah, a nice glass of wine.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Is four bucks.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Wow, a coke is seven eight dollars. It's totally reversed.
- 4:37Speaker 6: Yeah, totally reversed here, like you can get a coke
- 4:39Speaker 6: for two or three bucks, but here.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Like wine or anything is ten bucks, twelve bucks.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, will good morning to you, Oh,
- 4:48Speaker 2: good morning, good morning. And Cono is there. We're having
- 4:53Speaker 2: some yeah you are. We're having some computer problems here
- 4:56Speaker 2: you are having Yeah, we're having it's it's it's a
- 4:59Speaker 2: little bit that she.
- 5:00Speaker 4: We are great.
- 5:02Speaker 3: We're yeah enough for hours killing it over here.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true. Okay, what's going on? Oh on? And
- 5:10Speaker 4: I do this every year and I plug them every year.
- 5:12Speaker 2: It's the two hundred and fiftieth Birthday of America and
- 5:17Speaker 2: I am am seeing a evening with the La Lawyers
- 5:20Speaker 2: Philharmonic and it is always great fun. This year is
- 5:26Speaker 2: music of America and all the way back from Washington's
- 5:30Speaker 2: day to today. We're gonna be playing all of the
- 5:33Speaker 2: music that Donald Trump loves. Otherwise we're shut down, and
- 5:38Speaker 2: it's going to be a lot of fun. So let
- 5:41Speaker 2: me suggest you go to La lawyersphil dot org. That's
- 5:46Speaker 2: La Lawyers phil dot org. Tickets twenty bucks to one
- 5:50Speaker 2: hundred and thirty five, and it's a the Walt Disney
- 5:52Speaker 2: Music Hall, so there's no bad seat at all. And
- 5:54Speaker 2: it's an orchestra so it's not like a play. But
- 5:57Speaker 2: the music is really terrific. And I'm in my tuxedo
- 6:00Speaker 2: I'm seeing So come on down, don't say hello, ignore me,
- 6:05Speaker 2: Pretend that you've never seen me, or talk to me,
- 6:07Speaker 2: or have anything to do my show, and you'll do
- 6:08Speaker 2: very well. Okay, guys, are you ready to do it?
- 6:13Speaker 2: It is time for Handle on the News on a
- 6:17Speaker 2: Thursday morning with Heather Brooker and Me Late story. Well,
- 6:26Speaker 2: the US and Iran both have a very different interpretation
- 6:30Speaker 2: of what a cease fire is. They've been attacking each
- 6:34Speaker 2: other for a couple of days, traded air attacks second
- 6:38Speaker 2: straight day, and President Trump has vowed further strikes if
- 6:42Speaker 2: Tehran does not immediately agree to a peace deal. He
- 6:45Speaker 2: has been saying for the last couple of weeks. We're
- 6:48Speaker 2: right there, We're on the precipice. They desperately want a deal.
- 6:52Speaker 2: They're going to come to the table. Otherwise they're going
- 6:54Speaker 2: to blow them up. While they don't come to the table.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Trump does not blow them up, and he is wedding
- 7:01Speaker 2: the uh. He's getting the fact that Iran slow paces everything.
- 7:07Speaker 2: The Obama deal, which he uh completely well, he removed
- 7:12Speaker 2: us from took two years to negotiate, and there Iran
- 7:17Speaker 2: just slow walks it. And Trump, who is not the
- 7:20Speaker 2: most patient guy in the world, is saying, Okay, you
- 7:22Speaker 2: don't come to the table, I'm gonna bomb you into
- 7:25Speaker 2: non existence. We're gonna I'm gonna make you a I'm
- 7:27Speaker 2: gonna make the entire country a parking lot. Well, the
- 7:30Speaker 2: reality is he's threatened that, he's threatened that, he's threatened that,
- 7:33Speaker 2: and at some point, you know, when he actually can't
- 7:38Speaker 2: go to war, he can bomb the crap out of
- 7:40Speaker 2: Iran over and over again. And I'm gonna talk more
- 7:43Speaker 2: about that little later on. The problem is is not
- 7:46Speaker 2: so much him bombing the infrastructure and the United States
- 7:49Speaker 2: at risk. It's Iran will start bombing in a great
- 7:53Speaker 2: sense its neighbors, the Gulf States, and I guess.
- 7:57Speaker 7: This morning he said that tonight there's gonna be very
- 8:00Speaker 7: very powerful bombing. Yeah, Iran, and he's going to take
- 8:03Speaker 7: that carg Island. He keeps saying, yes.
- 8:06Speaker 2: It's then it becomes a full blown conflict where the
- 8:09Speaker 2: Golf States are going to get it. And that's a problem.
- 8:13Speaker 2: So he can't put boots on the ground, God, God
- 8:15Speaker 2: help on me. He actually has an invasion with American troops.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Can't do that. The risk is, I said, with the
- 8:21Speaker 4: Golf States.
- 8:23Speaker 2: So you make any enemy of the Golf States and
- 8:26Speaker 2: it just changes everything around far more than he wanted to.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Okay, moving on, all right, So remember that chemical that
- 8:36Speaker 6: crisis of the chemical spill, or the threat of the
- 8:39Speaker 6: chemical spill from a tank at GK and Aerospace and
- 8:42Speaker 6: Garden Grove a few weeks ago. Is over Memorial Day weekend. Well, yesterday,
- 8:46Speaker 6: federal agents led by the FBI and the us EPA,
- 8:51Speaker 6: they performed a search warrant and they went in and
- 8:54Speaker 6: they grabbed a bunch of records and materials. It's we
- 8:59Speaker 6: don't know exactly what they were looking for or what
- 9:02Speaker 6: they have learned since, but we know that they went
- 9:05Speaker 6: in and they took a bunch of They took a
- 9:08Speaker 6: bunch of stuff from this company to try to figure
- 9:10Speaker 6: out I guess what's going on or what caused this crisis.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Yeah, the assumption is going that I make and I
- 9:17Speaker 2: don't think I'm wrong on this. If they're going to
- 9:19Speaker 2: find all kinds of violations of safety rules all over
- 9:24Speaker 2: the place, and because of the intensity, because of the
- 9:28Speaker 2: magnitude of this things, they're going to find a lot
- 9:32Speaker 2: of stuff.
- 9:32Speaker 1: All right.
- 9:33Speaker 6: World Cup is starting today. The first match will be
- 9:36Speaker 6: between Mexico and South Africa in Mexico City. LA's first
- 9:41Speaker 6: match will be tomorrow between the US and Paraguay and
- 9:46Speaker 6: this tournament will last for five weeks in three host
- 9:49Speaker 6: countries of course, the US, Mexico and Canada and the
- 9:52Speaker 6: big final game match I should say match. I gotta
- 9:55Speaker 6: train myself to say match will be on July nineteenth.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Now, later on I'm going to at seven twenty, I'm
- 10:02Speaker 2: gonna do a story about the World Cup, a different
- 10:05Speaker 2: kind of story has to do with food. And then
- 10:07Speaker 2: tomorrow I'm going to do a story and the question
- 10:10Speaker 2: is why hasn't the US produced one superstar and why
- 10:17Speaker 2: is our team successfully sucking relative to other countries? And
- 10:22Speaker 2: I'll explain there's an interesting reason for that. And I'm
- 10:25Speaker 2: sure that, uh, you're not expecting this. Okay, moving on, So, if.
- 10:31Speaker 6: You are going to go to the World Cup any
- 10:34Speaker 6: of the games, keep your voovouzelas at home. You are
- 10:38Speaker 6: not allowed to bring your voovouzela. Do you know the
- 10:40Speaker 6: voovuzela is bill?
- 10:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a it's a woman's uh medical Uh No,
- 10:48Speaker 2: Do I have that wrong?
- 10:49Speaker 7: You?
- 10:49Speaker 6: You might be a little off on that. Oh, okay,
- 10:51Speaker 6: do you have a voo boozela? Sand Kno's probably I had.
- 10:54Speaker 6: I had a vooboozela, but you had it removed. No, yes,
- 11:00Speaker 6: I had surgically removed. Well, actually my wife did okay, No,
- 11:04Speaker 6: I didn't have one.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Had one here at the station. We had to take
- 11:06Speaker 5: it away from you.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Now it's it's loud. It's this plastic horn. Yeah. They uh.
- 11:17Speaker 2: High holidays young keepo a uh the uh they use
- 11:22Speaker 2: a zuela in synagoguezela.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:27Speaker 6: Well there's no voovuzela's whistles or air horns or excessive
- 11:31Speaker 6: loud noise making devices allowed in the World Cup venue.
- 11:36Speaker 3: So keep that in mind, Bill when you go watch
- 11:38Speaker 3: the games.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Keep your number one.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I don't have you know, I did have one, and
- 11:41Speaker 2: I'll tell you why I had one. Because we had
- 11:43Speaker 2: deer in our backyard at Persian Palace, and you can't
- 11:47Speaker 2: shoot them, unfortunately, and you can't put them in a
- 11:50Speaker 2: bag and drown them. So what what I did is
- 11:53Speaker 2: get the zuela woozella and uh in the backyard and
- 11:59Speaker 2: as loud as I could to scare the deer who
- 12:01Speaker 2: were eating my flowers.
- 12:03Speaker 4: They just looked at me and just said, what are
- 12:05Speaker 4: you doing? What are you doing?
- 12:08Speaker 3: They were not intimidated at all by your voovuzela, not
- 12:11Speaker 3: even a little bit.
- 12:11Speaker 2: So I had to put up a fence, an electrified fence,
- 12:13Speaker 2: and we had some very well cooked venison.
- 12:16Speaker 6: Okay, okay, moving on, moving on, Bill, I know you
- 12:21Speaker 6: were up late watching the Knicks game. But they won.
- 12:25Speaker 6: They was a they did not do well in the
- 12:27Speaker 6: first half, but they had one of the biggest comebacks
- 12:32Speaker 6: in somewhere saying with some of the biggest comebacks in
- 12:34Speaker 6: NBA history.
- 12:35Speaker 5: It was amazing.
- 12:35Speaker 6: The Spurs dominated the first half, but then the Knicks
- 12:38Speaker 6: came back in the second half and they won their
- 12:40Speaker 6: fourth game in the NBA Finals one oh seven to
- 12:42Speaker 6: one O.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Six, twenty nine point deficit and came back. I han't
- 12:47Speaker 4: been done before. Has that ever been done?
- 12:49Speaker 7: No, it's the greatest comeback in history. Yeah, in NBA history.
- 12:53Speaker 5: It's amazing.
- 12:55Speaker 8: ConA watched, You watched, I did, and the Knicks held
- 12:59Speaker 8: the Spurs to third points in the all of the
- 13:01Speaker 8: second half. It was It was incredible, and it came
- 13:03Speaker 8: down to the last shot, which is always fun. It
- 13:05Speaker 8: came down to the very last second of the game.
- 13:09Speaker 3: So Bill did not watch, Okay, I did not watch.
- 13:13Speaker 6: So let's talk about the Palisades Fire of Jonathan render Kanesh,
- 13:17Speaker 6: which we've now learned apparently that we've all been saying
- 13:20Speaker 6: his name wrong. We've been saying render necked by. One
- 13:23Speaker 6: of our writers said that it's actually render kinesh. Apparently
- 13:29Speaker 6: he was in court yesterday and federal prosecutors say that
- 13:33Speaker 6: he intentionally said that New Year's Day Lockman fire, and
- 13:36Speaker 6: that's the small blaze that allegedly smoldered underground and reunited
- 13:40Speaker 6: a week later as the Palisades fire. But his defense
- 13:44Speaker 6: says there's no accelerant that was found, no witnesses, nobody
- 13:48Speaker 6: who can identify him at the scene or as the
- 13:51Speaker 6: cause of this, and he has made no confession.
- 13:54Speaker 2: What makes this trial particularly interesting is that there is
- 13:59Speaker 2: no direct evidence. As the defense attorney said, what the
- 14:03Speaker 2: prosecution is basing the case on is that no one
- 14:07Speaker 2: else could have done it if you look at where
- 14:10Speaker 2: he was, if you look at the totality of the circumstance,
- 14:15Speaker 2: it's a question of exclusion.
- 14:17Speaker 4: It's much like DNA testing.
- 14:19Speaker 2: DNA testing doesn't prove you are a parent or a
- 14:23Speaker 2: related it's an exclusion. In other words, ninety nine point
- 14:28Speaker 2: nine nine nine percent of the population cannot be related,
- 14:32Speaker 2: therefore you are. And much the same is here is
- 14:36Speaker 2: there's no other way. There's no other reason that that
- 14:39Speaker 2: fire began, but for him doing it, so it is
- 14:43Speaker 2: really circumstantial. And the and then the argument is that
- 14:48Speaker 2: the fire he started was actually a week before, even
- 14:52Speaker 2: if they convict him of that, it was a week before,
- 14:54Speaker 2: and then it smoldered for a week and then it
- 14:57Speaker 2: exploded into the Palisades fire. So the argument's going to
- 14:59Speaker 2: be it's the fault of the fire department and they
- 15:02Speaker 2: should have put it out. Very interesting in our trial,
- 15:05Speaker 2: he's going down by.
- 15:06Speaker 6: The way, Yeah, he's going to get blamed for oh yeah,
- 15:08Speaker 6: oh yeah, absolutely, somebody has to so yeah.
- 15:11Speaker 3: All right.
- 15:12Speaker 6: Thousands of property owners who lost their homes in the
- 15:15Speaker 6: Palisades fire are now suing the city of la But
- 15:18Speaker 6: one has caught everyone's attention. Among the plaintiffs is the
- 15:22Speaker 6: brother of Mayor Karen Bass. His name is Kenneth D. Bass,
- 15:26Speaker 6: and he is part of the big legal action that
- 15:30Speaker 6: is targeting the State of California, the LADWP and other entities.
- 15:36Speaker 6: He lost his Malibu property there says it was a
- 15:39Speaker 6: total burned down and he suffered smoke inhalation and emotional distress.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I wonder I haven't read the lawsuit if he is
- 15:47Speaker 2: actually suing Karen Bass, because some lawsuits are doing exactly that,
- 15:52Speaker 2: saying she didn't come back in time, and she did
- 15:56Speaker 2: not do what she should have done. It wasn't a
- 15:58Speaker 2: timely decision. She was in Ghana right after she promised
- 16:02Speaker 2: never to leave Los Angeles during her tenure as mayor
- 16:06Speaker 2: and was slow in coming back even though she was warned.
- 16:11Speaker 6: Yeah, well, she says in response to or her team,
- 16:15Speaker 6: I guess said in response to the lawsuit that there's
- 16:19Speaker 6: nothing new here. Mayor bas has spoken of her brother's
- 16:21Speaker 6: loss publicly since January of twenty twenty five, and there
- 16:24Speaker 6: are thousands of people, thousands of plaintiffs in this action.
- 16:29Speaker 4: So yeah, so what doesn't mean he's not suing her?
- 16:32Speaker 4: All right? She did.
- 16:33Speaker 2: She did refer to him specifically when she was asked
- 16:38Speaker 2: at a press conference, and from what I understand, she
- 16:41Speaker 2: grabbed your crotch and said, bite me.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Do I have that right?
- 16:44Speaker 3: Yes? I believe that's exactly what happened, Thank you, all right.
- 16:48Speaker 6: The Trump administration is asking a federal judge to reject
- 16:51Speaker 6: the attempt by two Virginia residents to stop this UFC
- 16:54Speaker 6: fight on the south lawn of the White House. They're
- 16:58Speaker 6: saying that the date is too close. They've been planning
- 17:00Speaker 6: this for the past year, and they're saying this event
- 17:05Speaker 6: needs to move forward. There's sixty million dollars that have
- 17:07Speaker 6: already been spent, thousands of spectators are on their way,
- 17:11Speaker 6: and they're saying they're blaming the people who are filing
- 17:15Speaker 6: the lawsuits, saying that they believe they have superior taste
- 17:18Speaker 6: and want to spoil the event for everybody else.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, the administration is not only right on this one,
- 17:24Speaker 2: but I don't know how it's going to lose because
- 17:28Speaker 2: the plaintiffs had a year to demand that the proper
- 17:32Speaker 2: permits be taken, and the defense is, yeah, it took
- 17:36Speaker 2: you a year. Also, there's something called standing. You have
- 17:39Speaker 2: to actually be damaged by the whatever activity is being made.
- 17:45Speaker 2: And they're saying, here's our damage, Our view of the
- 17:50Speaker 2: Washington Monument and the mall is being obstructed, therefore this
- 17:55Speaker 2: should not go forward, and you didn't get the proper permits. Well,
- 17:59Speaker 2: the part Works Department has in fact lowered the level
- 18:03Speaker 2: of permits for events like this, so you know what
- 18:07Speaker 2: are they doing.
- 18:08Speaker 4: It's just a frivolous lawsuit.
- 18:09Speaker 2: And this is that our tax dollars defending something that's
- 18:12Speaker 2: absolutely stupid, and this.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Is where the administration is right.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I hate the fact that the Department of Justice has
- 18:16Speaker 2: to defend this crap. These guys should be nailed for
- 18:20Speaker 2: a frivolous lawsuit and sanctioned big time.
- 18:24Speaker 6: All right, speaking of the UFC, this big event, the
- 18:28Speaker 6: fighters are going to have a news conference tomorrow at
- 18:31Speaker 6: the Lincoln Memorial, and this is again causing another rift
- 18:36Speaker 6: between administration and locals there as well as tourists. Apparently
- 18:42Speaker 6: all of the staging and lights and all the things
- 18:46Speaker 6: they have set up for this news conference are blocking
- 18:49Speaker 6: the view and obstructing the view along the National Mall
- 18:52Speaker 6: of the Lincoln Memorial. People are complaining that they're coming
- 18:55Speaker 6: to visit and they can't see it.
- 18:57Speaker 2: And yeah, that's true, but that's not enough to although,
- 19:01Speaker 2: come on the press conference in front of the Lincoln Memorial,
- 19:04Speaker 2: I mean, come on, really yeah, So yeah, you're gonna
- 19:08Speaker 2: see these stonemaces chipping away at Lincoln's statue and getting
- 19:14Speaker 2: rid of the clothes that he's wearing and he'll be
- 19:16Speaker 2: bare chested.
- 19:16Speaker 5: Say they're doing the weigh in at the Lincoln I know.
- 19:20Speaker 4: I mean that's insane.
- 19:21Speaker 6: I mean, they have all these lowercides set up. They
- 19:24Speaker 6: have like lighting rigs all this.
- 19:27Speaker 2: No, it's just it just so cheapens are two hundred
- 19:30Speaker 2: and fiftieth. And that's the other argument. Is it really
- 19:33Speaker 2: the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary that's being celebrated or
- 19:37Speaker 2: is it Trump's eightieth birthday? Matter of fact, the next
- 19:41Speaker 2: story argues that maybe it is all about Trump.
- 19:45Speaker 6: So as he is getting ready as President Trump is
- 19:48Speaker 6: getting ready for this big UFC fight outside the White
- 19:52Speaker 6: House on his birthday, as you said, his family is
- 19:55Speaker 6: getting behind twelve thousand dollars gold coins that people can
- 19:59Speaker 6: buy to help promote the fight card. So people, so
- 20:04Speaker 6: the president's sons Eric and Donald Junior, and the multi
- 20:06Speaker 6: billion dollar mixed martial arts company have well, they've partnered
- 20:11Speaker 6: to sell a collection of Freedom two fifty silver and
- 20:15Speaker 6: gold coins branded with a president's face on it.
- 20:18Speaker 4: If you want to fire one hundred and fifty dollars
- 20:20Speaker 4: to twelve thousand dollars.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Now, the Trump organization are not specifically involved, they're just
- 20:25Speaker 2: backing up and promoting the company that's doing this. I
- 20:28Speaker 2: think it's UFC directly, yes, that is selling these twelve
- 20:33Speaker 2: thousand dollars coins.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Freedom to fifty.
- 20:38Speaker 3: With UFC boss Dana White on it as well.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Yeah, with not only is the Trump pictures, but also
- 20:45Speaker 2: statue of Abraham Lincoln with the no toppies, bear chested.
- 20:48Speaker 6: I know what I'm getting you for your birthday bit.
- 20:50Speaker 4: That's absolutely true.
- 20:52Speaker 6: So the president has seen twenty two medical specialists and
- 20:56Speaker 6: the White House isn't saying why. Specialist on his latest
- 21:02Speaker 6: checkup said that, well, this is actually nearly double the
- 21:06Speaker 6: number of specialists who assessed Trump for his past checkups
- 21:09Speaker 6: while he was president. And you know, of course, he
- 21:11Speaker 6: famously said and is after his last checkup that he
- 21:14Speaker 6: was fine, everything was great, he passed all the tests.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and twenty two sets specialists, half of which said
- 21:21Speaker 2: he is the fittest president who have we've ever had
- 21:24Speaker 2: the history of United States. The other half said he
- 21:27Speaker 2: is the fittest person that has existed in the United States,
- 21:31Speaker 2: if not the world.
- 21:33Speaker 3: That's impressive.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Well, he the first time around when he it was
- 21:37Speaker 2: the fittest president. That's was his That's what his doctor wrote.
- 21:41Speaker 2: And it came out later that he actually wrote it
- 21:44Speaker 2: and the doctor signed it.
- 21:46Speaker 4: That was reported. I mean, I mean, he's for eighty
- 21:49Speaker 4: years old. He is in pretty good shape. I mean,
- 21:51Speaker 4: there's no question about it.
- 21:53Speaker 2: His mind is there and he's you know, I mean,
- 21:55Speaker 2: he's a very young eighty if you look at what
- 21:58Speaker 2: he's done, but not you know, he's fitter than George
- 22:01Speaker 2: Bush who used to run marathons and the Secret Service
- 22:06Speaker 2: those guys in their twenties couldn't keep up with him.
- 22:09Speaker 2: And Barack Obama Obama who works out like crazy, and
- 22:13Speaker 2: it's pretty fit. But can you imagine can you imagine
- 22:19Speaker 2: the president playing hoops with a bunch of guys as
- 22:23Speaker 2: Obama does, although the.
- 22:26Speaker 6: President in the UFC, maybe he'll jump in the fight
- 22:28Speaker 6: this weekend.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Now, he is a very good golfer, for what I understand,
- 22:33Speaker 2: the guy does play a good, good game of golf.
- 22:37Speaker 6: Well, mom is the same age, and she is nowhere
- 22:39Speaker 6: near his health, so upright and moving around as well
- 22:43Speaker 6: as he is.
- 22:44Speaker 2: So yeah, my mom when she was eighty was basically
- 22:46Speaker 2: an oil painting.
- 22:49Speaker 3: The mona Lisa, no, no, no, moving on all right, this.
- 22:55Speaker 6: Is a you know, I don't know if you would
- 22:57Speaker 6: call this justice, but it's certainly something for the family.
- 23:02Speaker 6: Here of the two young boys that were killed in
- 23:06Speaker 6: Westlake Village by Rebecca Grossman. In twenty twenty, they had
- 23:10Speaker 6: been awarded almost two hundred million dollars by a jury
- 23:14Speaker 6: after this nine week trial. Of course, this is involving
- 23:19Speaker 6: the eleven year old an eight year old that were
- 23:22Speaker 6: killed Mark and Jacob Iskandor when she was speeding through
- 23:26Speaker 6: Westlake Village and hit them with her car. She was
- 23:29Speaker 6: also there with former Dodger pitcher Eric or excuse me,
- 23:34Speaker 6: Scott Erickson.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and the jury found that they were speeding basically
- 23:39Speaker 2: is what they are doing.
- 23:40Speaker 4: There is some kind of a race now.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Last week reported that one hundred and seventy six million
- 23:45Speaker 2: dollars in compensatory damages, and I said the punitives side
- 23:50Speaker 2: of the punitive part of the trial is going to
- 23:53Speaker 2: happen next week. And it just came down and it
- 23:56Speaker 2: turned out to be another twenty one million dollars. Not
- 23:59Speaker 2: that any he's gonna pay two hundred million dollars. But Grossman,
- 24:02Speaker 2: I think she's gonna lose everything she has. Yeah, she's
- 24:06Speaker 2: probably have to going to go bankrupt on it.
- 24:08Speaker 7: Uh.
- 24:09Speaker 6: San Berdadino homeowner says a county sheriff entered his backyard
- 24:12Speaker 6: without a warrant and shot and killed one of his dogs.
- 24:17Speaker 3: The uh Hayes, who's.
- 24:19Speaker 6: Surna, says that his rottweiler named Daisy. He's heartbroken. She
- 24:24Speaker 6: was not just a pet, she was part of the family.
- 24:26Speaker 6: It happened in May in unincorporated San Bernadou, and surveillance
- 24:30Speaker 6: video shows deputies walking up the driveway looking into the
- 24:33Speaker 6: backyard where another dog, Raven, was seen, and the deputies
- 24:37Speaker 6: didn't leave and return about two minutes later when the
- 24:40Speaker 6: rottweiler approach, video shows the deputy.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Pulling out his firearm and shooting the dog.
- 24:44Speaker 5: If you watch the video, he kicks the dog first.
- 24:47Speaker 7: The dog comes over, come on like with a wagging
- 24:50Speaker 7: kind of a tail, and he.
- 24:51Speaker 5: Kicks the dog.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Yeah, he's still at work. Yeah, the sheriff.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I mean, not only should he be fired based on
- 24:58Speaker 2: this story, but he should also would be looking at
- 25:00Speaker 2: criminal charges cruelty to animals.
- 25:03Speaker 4: I mean, this is brutal.
- 25:04Speaker 2: By the way, when I said the bankruptcy before, I
- 25:06Speaker 2: don't know if a grossman can file for bankruptcy based
- 25:11Speaker 2: on the fact that she's a convicted felon and the
- 25:16Speaker 2: she was I think convicted of the crime she was,
- 25:19Speaker 2: so she was okay, then maybe I stand corrected.
- 25:22Speaker 3: All right.
- 25:24Speaker 6: I love this story for Amy. I wish Amie was
- 25:26Speaker 6: here proposed Disneyland license plates. So apparently driver California drivers
- 25:33Speaker 6: can soon show their love for the happiest place on
- 25:35Speaker 6: Earth by picking out their own custom Disneyland license plates.
- 25:39Speaker 6: It needed seventy five hundred signatures to move forward, and
- 25:43Speaker 6: it got forty four thousand signatures. So everybody apparently wants
- 25:47Speaker 6: to show up.
- 25:48Speaker 4: You have you Have you seen the license plate, the
- 25:51Speaker 4: mock up of the same. No, it's the what do
- 25:55Speaker 4: they call the area around it?
- 25:57Speaker 3: The trim?
- 25:58Speaker 2: Yeah, the trim. Yeah, the tri says happiest place on Earth.
- 26:01Speaker 2: And the actual license plate is simply.
- 26:03Speaker 4: A dollar sign. Now.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Now, I went to Disneyland for the first time in
- 26:08Speaker 2: thirty years with Amy. I loved every minute of it.
- 26:12Speaker 2: But you know it's still pricey.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Yeah, well take our money any chance they get.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know the argument is you get a
- 26:19Speaker 2: lot for your money, and relative to other venues you do.
- 26:24Speaker 6: Okay, just a worthy the Disney fans and Disney people
- 26:27Speaker 6: think it's worth it.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Sure.
- 26:28Speaker 6: Another thing that's worth it is one in an out burger.
- 26:31Speaker 6: And also Vegas, right, Michelle, Vegas is always well, oh yeah.
- 26:36Speaker 6: So there's a brand new in and out burger that
- 26:39Speaker 6: just opened on the Vegas Strip and it's an eight
- 26:43Speaker 6: thousand square foot in and out located across from the
- 26:46Speaker 6: Aria and Park MGM.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Now, knowing when you go to in and out, those
- 26:50Speaker 2: are pretty small places. They are maybe a couple thousand
- 26:53Speaker 2: square feet, maybe fifteen hundred square feet, And this is
- 26:56Speaker 2: a big one.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Two floors, yeah, seventy people.
- 27:00Speaker 7: It can hold two hundred yeah, murders, and it's going
- 27:04Speaker 7: to be packed all the time.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Yes, of course it is, of course it is, yes,
- 27:07Speaker 4: all right.
- 27:08Speaker 6: So if you didn't get your ticket to the Olympics,
- 27:10Speaker 6: there is a new ticket window opening up. The LA
- 27:13Speaker 6: twenty eight Olympic Window will open up August. This is
- 27:16Speaker 6: the second drop. It'll open up August tenth through the twentieth,
- 27:21Speaker 6: and it will be across all sports and price points.
- 27:24Speaker 6: Although a lot of those twenty eight dollars tickets that
- 27:26Speaker 6: they've been advertising and kept talking about have pretty much
- 27:29Speaker 6: all been snatched up for the events.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Okay, let's finish up with a prank of pranks that
- 27:38Speaker 2: not very pleasant, you know, not a cool.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Thing to do, all right, So two hundred doors across
- 27:44Speaker 6: the campus at Patrick Henry High School in San Diego
- 27:47Speaker 6: were glued shut last month during finals weeks. School police
- 27:53Speaker 6: have surveillance video of the suspect on campus, but haven't
- 27:56Speaker 6: been able to identify them. All these weeks later, some
- 27:59Speaker 6: keys still won't slide into the locks, and they're still
- 28:03Speaker 6: looking for the person responsible. It's cost the school over
- 28:07Speaker 6: seventy thousand dollars worth of property damage.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's no fun, all right? Coming up the new
- 28:13Speaker 2: Hell's Angels.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Who are they?
- 28:15Speaker 2: Well, I'll explain. This is KFI AM six point forty.
- 28:20Speaker 4: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Catch my show Monday through Friday, six am to nine am,
- 28:25Speaker 1: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app
