Latest / Ruffling the Feathers: An NFL Podcast / Episode 14: Carted Off To Clutch!
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Also, FYI, I... And there's the first blunder.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I mean, hey, in all fairness, that actually works out well. Hello, everybody,
- 0:10Speaker 2: and welcome to episode 14 of the Ruffling the Feathers podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 2: In today's episode, if you get carted off, next thing
- 0:19Speaker 2: you know, you're going to be in the clutch. And
- 0:22Speaker 2: I'm not talking about a car. Wow, that is a
- 0:25Speaker 2: horrible tangent. I'm your host, Talent Master Jay, and I
- 0:29Speaker 2: am being joined by Supernova. Nova, what's going on today, man?
- 0:35Speaker 1: So we got 14 episodes without a take one blunder,
- 0:38Speaker 1: so there's that.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I mean, in all fairness, though, a blunder is perfectly fine.
- 0:44Speaker 2: You're probably also wondering, ladies and gentlemen, right now, where
- 0:47Speaker 2: is Brandon? If we're going to be completely candid, Brandon
- 0:52Speaker 2: is currently working at the time of of our podcast recording.
- 0:56Speaker 2: He is one of the heroes. out there in the world.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I will let you interpret what that hero worship position is.
- 1:07Speaker 2: And then you can give Brandon a lot of love
- 1:09Speaker 2: and a lot of credit for his position, but he
- 1:12Speaker 2: is here in spirit. We will hopefully have him back
- 1:16Speaker 2: on the next episode, but we also have his notes
- 1:20Speaker 2: on week seven. And when we get to preview week eight,
- 1:24Speaker 2: but before we get into it, Wow, I'm saying the
- 1:28Speaker 2: word butt a lot. It's a good thing this is
- 1:30Speaker 2: not How I Met Your Mother. Otherwise, Nova, you're not
- 1:34Speaker 2: even 21 yet, are you?
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm more than 21. I've not watched How I Met
- 1:39Speaker 1: Your Mother, but I know what you mean.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, this would be the drinking game that
- 1:43Speaker 2: you and Brandon could start drinking and then get plastered
- 1:47Speaker 2: every time I say the word butt.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Hey, at least it's better than How I Met Your Father,
- 1:50Speaker 1: I'll be honest.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Did you ever, you saw that?
- 1:54Speaker 1: No, I kept seeing the trailers.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw the trailers too. I never watched a
- 1:58Speaker 2: single episode of it and fortunately I'm kind of glad
- 2:01Speaker 2: I didn't. Same here. But I have seen Avatar Seven Havens.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Oh, how's that been?
- 2:08Speaker 2: That is actually pretty damn good. For somebody who grew
- 2:13Speaker 2: up on the original Avatar The Last Airbender and was
- 2:17Speaker 2: somewhat modest and mundane with Legend of Korra. I mean,
- 2:21Speaker 2: I like Legend of Korra if I'm being real. It
- 2:24Speaker 2: wasn't horrible. It wasn't the worst thing since sliced bread
- 2:28Speaker 2: it was good for its own right but this one
- 2:32Speaker 2: yeah it's our they've already had nine episodes and i
- 2:36Speaker 2: can't make heads or tails of who's the good guy
- 2:37Speaker 2: and who's the bad guy even though the good guy's
- 2:40Speaker 2: supposed to be the avatar but in their realm the
- 2:43Speaker 2: avatar is the bad guy so what am i supposed.
- 2:47Speaker 1: To make of it uh different angle i guess uh
- 2:51Speaker 1: i don't know what direction the directors and producers are
- 2:53Speaker 1: taking with that series but.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Sure yeah and i mean The last four episodes of
- 2:59Speaker 2: season one are supposed to be coming out this Friday
- 3:01Speaker 2: on Paramount +. And I'll be watching them on Friday.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And I will see how that's at least how they
- 3:11Speaker 2: wrap around. But for so far, the original creators of Avatar,
- 3:15Speaker 2: I give them props. I'm giving that series so far,
- 3:19Speaker 2: I'm giving it a 9 out of 10. It's pretty good.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But you know what else is pretty good? uh nova
- 3:26Speaker 2: when's the last time you played a call of duty.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Game not since like i'm lying it's like since 2019
- 3:34Speaker 1: when all my friends stopped playing it for some reason
- 3:35Speaker 1: i was like the young teenage yourself and me felt
- 3:38Speaker 1: like i was betrayed by my friends but you know
- 3:39Speaker 1: i grew past it i always enjoyed playing black ops
- 3:42Speaker 1: 2 it was always my poster child uh anytime i
- 3:45Speaker 1: get to play with relatives nowadays they keep calling me
- 3:47Speaker 1: too good well.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yeah i mean black ops 2 was actually a pretty
- 3:51Speaker 2: decent multiplayer experience at least for me I got Modern
- 3:57Speaker 2: Warfare 4 I'll be completely candid I was on the
- 4:00Speaker 2: fence with it but I was looking at it because
- 4:03Speaker 2: of the graphics because the graphics I mean Nova you're
- 4:06Speaker 2: out there in Los Angeles so you know how great
- 4:09Speaker 2: good graphics are in media and television movies the whole
- 4:13Speaker 2: nine yards correct I've.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Never been to Hollywood so I can't say for personal
- 4:18Speaker 1: reasons but I can surely say yes.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah um and when i was looking at the graphics
- 4:25Speaker 2: i was like you know these graphics are pretty good
- 4:28Speaker 2: it looks like they're really trying to work on that
- 4:31Speaker 2: what was the what was the main problem with that
- 4:34Speaker 2: game again it was what the skill based matchmaking or
- 4:36Speaker 2: something like that that's.
- 4:37Speaker 1: All i keep hearing on the internet how i'm not
- 4:40Speaker 1: sure if you're anyways gonna be familiar with my reference
- 4:42Speaker 1: um if anybody ever watches like uh these knives only
- 4:47Speaker 1: on youtube who is a call of duty youtuber who
- 4:50Speaker 1: consistently plays multiplayer going mostly troll stuff or knives only
- 4:54Speaker 1: and all i hear is like him trying to get
- 4:57Speaker 1: rage compilations and it keeps working almost every single time
- 5:00Speaker 1: but yeah um i don't know how to think about
- 5:03Speaker 1: skilled waste matchmaking because like you see that on other
- 5:05Speaker 1: type of games like like uh overwatch for example i
- 5:07Speaker 1: don't know how it ever would work in black ops
- 5:09Speaker 1: 2 in a call of duty franchise excuse me.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah um And when I was looking at the game,
- 5:17Speaker 2: you know, I'm looking at the graphics because again, the
- 5:19Speaker 2: graphics are good, but at least for me, and again,
- 5:22Speaker 2: you said the last time you really played it was
- 5:23Speaker 2: black ops too.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay.
- 5:26Speaker 2: What did you think of the campaign of black ops too?
- 5:28Speaker 2: Assuming that you played it. You never touched the campaign. Nope. Okay. Well,
- 5:35Speaker 2: at least for me, a good call of duty game
- 5:39Speaker 2: is only as good as its campaign. And again, Modern Warfare,
- 5:44Speaker 2: the rebooted series. The first one, okay, it was a
- 5:49Speaker 2: nice reboot. It wasn't terrible, wasn't bad. Modern Warfare 2,
- 5:53Speaker 2: the new Modern Warfare 2, not the original Modern Warfare 2.
- 5:56Speaker 2: The original Modern Warfare 2 is so far in the stratosphere,
- 6:00Speaker 2: you might have to get an airplane to find that one.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Um.
- 6:05Speaker 2: But the new Modern Warfare 2 was okay on the campaign.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Modern Warfare 3, however, it made me question why the
- 6:12Speaker 2: hell I was a Call of Duty fan growing up. Like,
- 6:15Speaker 2: that's how bad it was. It was horrible of a campaign.
- 6:21Speaker 2: And then Modern Warfare 4 comes out. I'm thinking, okay,
- 6:23Speaker 2: I'm on the fence with this game. And then the
- 6:28Speaker 2: reviews started coming out for the campaign. And I'm like, okay,
- 6:31Speaker 2: here we go. The aggregator sites are coming out. What
- 6:36Speaker 2: are they going to complain about this time? And they
- 6:40Speaker 2: were comparing this Modern Warfare 4 campaign to the original
- 6:45Speaker 2: Modern Warfare 2. And I'm like, okay, I might have
- 6:51Speaker 2: to get this game. And I purchased the game. I
- 6:56Speaker 2: played the campaign. Took me about, I'd say, eight or
- 7:01Speaker 2: nine hours to to beat the campaign on veteran difficulty,
- 7:05Speaker 2: mind you, because I always play on veteran. I'm not
- 7:07Speaker 2: one of these schmoes out there who is like, oh,
- 7:11Speaker 2: I gotta play in a beginner mode. I gotta have
- 7:15Speaker 2: the aim assist on. Man, you play it on veteran,
- 7:19Speaker 2: you die a bunch of fucking times in the game,
- 7:22Speaker 2: you don't care, you get pissed off, and then you
- 7:25Speaker 2: play from your last checkpoint and you win the mission. Um...
- 7:31Speaker 2: And honestly, I agree. Like this Call of Duty Modern
- 7:35Speaker 2: Warfare 4 campaign, I'm not putting it up there like
- 7:39Speaker 2: with the original Modern Warfare 2, but I will say
- 7:43Speaker 2: for a campaign that sort of brings back those kinds
- 7:48Speaker 2: of memories, especially with the fact that the setting of
- 7:51Speaker 2: Modern Warfare 4, we're in fucking North Korea. Like of
- 7:58Speaker 2: all the places in the world, Nova, North Korea.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Must be for historical reasons. Cause, uh, you remember like
- 8:05Speaker 1: cold war era with that?
- 8:07Speaker 2: I think I remember there was the black ops cold war. Um,
- 8:13Speaker 2: and I know black ops and black ops two were
- 8:15Speaker 2: kind of in that cold war era, but like this
- 8:20Speaker 2: one is just straight up North Korea, South Korea, demilitarized
- 8:26Speaker 2: zone of Korea. Um, And honestly, I mean, I don't
- 8:32Speaker 2: mind spoiling this. I mean, what I will say about
- 8:37Speaker 2: the game that they really captured with North Korea, now
- 8:40Speaker 2: I get it. There's the Western side of it. There's
- 8:44Speaker 2: the global media side of it. But from everything that
- 8:48Speaker 2: our media has told us, Nova, it really... like paints
- 8:53Speaker 2: North Korea in that light that we've been known to
- 8:57Speaker 2: believe them. And I'm sure even they would agree with
- 8:59Speaker 2: their portrayal where it's like, well, I mean, they probably
- 9:03Speaker 2: would deny it and they'd be like, Oh, look at
- 9:05Speaker 2: this propaganda that the Western media is presenting about our
- 9:10Speaker 2: Supreme leader, Kim Jong-un. Um, but I will say that
- 9:17Speaker 2: they have a mission in, in there where, um, at
- 9:20Speaker 2: least at the beginning, this is all I'm going to
- 9:21Speaker 2: say about it. I'm not going to spoil the rest
- 9:23Speaker 2: of the mission, but they have like, they actually captured
- 9:29Speaker 2: what I believe they've done for a North Korean Supreme
- 9:33Speaker 2: leaders funeral procession where you have the military and they're
- 9:38Speaker 2: doing the walk with the, uh, the guns up in
- 9:42Speaker 2: the air, but then you see the crowd, these, uh,
- 9:46Speaker 2: They're poor, alleged brainwashed. I say alleged because again, if
- 9:51Speaker 2: we're going to talk by North Korea standards, they're not brainwashed.
- 9:54Speaker 2: They are the truth seekers. But if we're talking for
- 9:57Speaker 2: the Western media, these guys are brainwashed too. kingdom come. Um,
- 10:02Speaker 2: they actually captured these, like that crowd crying and mourning
- 10:07Speaker 2: at the fact that, Oh my God, we lost our
- 10:10Speaker 2: Supreme leader. Oh, more with me. What is going to
- 10:15Speaker 2: happen to our country? Um, And then you see the
- 10:19Speaker 2: new Supreme Leader and they're like, yay!
- 10:21Speaker 1: Isn't that how a hierarchy works?
- 10:26Speaker 2: Hierarchy, dictatorship, whatever you want to call it. But yeah, no,
- 10:35Speaker 2: I mean, I give Modern Warfare 4 solid 8 out
- 10:40Speaker 2: of 10.
- 10:41Speaker 1: For me.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I mean, I've been having, I had fun with the campaign.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I've been having fun with the demilitarized zone mode, um, multiplayer.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I mean, it's like, look, I mean, I speak for
- 10:51Speaker 2: probably you as well. Nova, if you're not playing with
- 10:53Speaker 2: friends and multiplayer, why the hell are you playing with
- 10:56Speaker 2: random ass scrubs?
- 10:57Speaker 1: Um, I could, I mean, I said it earlier with
- 11:01Speaker 1: these nice only thing I would play just to piss
- 11:03Speaker 1: people off.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Okay. That's fair.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Um, It's so easy to do because all they do
- 11:09Speaker 1: is spam the same lines.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yeah, they spam the same lines with their snipers that camp.
- 11:15Speaker 2: And then you're just like, fuck!
- 11:19Speaker 1: And then all you hear are slurs.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Well, in today's society, I mean, again, it's 2026. I'm
- 11:29Speaker 2: sure people are probably trying to record behind the scenes
- 11:34Speaker 2: and behind their aliases and whatever. But look, again, this
- 11:39Speaker 2: is all I'm going to say about it. I've said
- 11:41Speaker 2: it before and I'll maintain it until the day I'm
- 11:43Speaker 2: blue in the face and people my age will agree
- 11:45Speaker 2: with it until they're blue in the face. Today's kids
- 11:49Speaker 2: would never survive an original Modern Warfare 2 chat room.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And miss me with that remastered version, not the Modern
- 12:00Speaker 2: Warfare 2. I'm talking about Modern Warfare 2 remaster they
- 12:03Speaker 2: did Was it 2018 or something like that? I think
- 12:06Speaker 2: it was. Miss me with that. While it's a nice
- 12:10Speaker 2: remaster of Modern Warfare 2, it's not the same chat rooms.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Those chat rooms, they were tossing racial epithets and misogyny
- 12:23Speaker 2: and sexism. I was surprised we weren't in the 1960s again.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Speaking of which, I mean, we're going to, I mean,
- 12:32Speaker 1: just people talking about certain other players in the sports
- 12:35Speaker 1: world that aren't like that. There's a certain kicker for
- 12:38Speaker 1: the Chiefs that gets compared to that.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll be talking about that in a little bit,
- 12:44Speaker 2: but I think it's best that we begin recapping that.
- 12:48Speaker 2: week seven. And again, ladies and gentlemen, even though Brandon
- 12:51Speaker 2: is not here, we do have his thoughts for the
- 12:54Speaker 2: game and we're going to start actually finally enough Nova.
- 12:58Speaker 2: We're going to start with his game. The Chicago bears
- 13:01Speaker 2: defeating the new England Patriots 30 to 24. Yeah.
- 13:06Speaker 1: On Thursday night football. And yes, we did alert Brandon
- 13:09Speaker 1: about this. He unfortunately was not able to watch it.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Not because he couldn't, but because you know, he has
- 13:16Speaker 1: to serve as the hire.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yep, he has to serve as the hire. And again,
- 13:21Speaker 2: we respect his line of work. It is one of
- 13:24Speaker 2: the best lines of work to be in. And Nova,
- 13:28Speaker 2: blink twice if I'm saying this against my will or
- 13:30Speaker 2: I'm being forced to repeat a phrase that Brandon is
- 13:34Speaker 2: telling me to say. I didn't want you to do
- 13:37Speaker 2: it for real! I didn't want you to do it
- 13:43Speaker 2: for real!
- 13:43Speaker 1: I will burn your car to the ground.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Uh so Brandon's thoughts on this game is very simple
- 13:52Speaker 2: Caleb Williams is legit man looks solid on the field
- 13:56Speaker 2: and I'll agree with that I mean look I saw
- 13:59Speaker 2: what Caleb Williams did to Atlanta's defense and again I
- 14:02Speaker 2: mean it's Atlanta's defense I'll talk about Atlanta's defense a
- 14:05Speaker 2: little later in the show um But that one throw
- 14:09Speaker 2: that Caleb Williams had, what was that? It was a
- 14:11Speaker 2: third down, wasn't it?
- 14:12Speaker 1: It was a third down deep in his own territory.
- 14:15Speaker 1: He somehow threw a side pass that literally beat two
- 14:18Speaker 1: defenders that found Romo Dunzai.
- 14:20Speaker 2: On the back shoulder. Like, that was hella impressive. Other
- 14:27Speaker 2: things that Brandon had to say about it, the Drake
- 14:29Speaker 2: May-AJ Brown connection is still struggling. Like, what the hell
- 14:35Speaker 2: is going on with AJ? Granted... He was only targeted
- 14:38Speaker 2: six times, so he caught half of them, but he
- 14:43Speaker 2: is dropping a lot of passes right now. I'm surprised
- 14:45Speaker 2: he's not wearing green and yellow.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I did make the Butterfingers joke last week.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, you did make that joke last week. He
- 14:55Speaker 2: also asks, what happened to the Patriots' run game lately?
- 15:00Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, why is Drake Maynard leading Russia over Andre Stevenson?
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and also had the only rushing touchdown too. And
- 15:11Speaker 2: then he said the Pats definitely have time for improvement,
- 15:13Speaker 2: especially the next two weeks at Miami and home versus
- 15:16Speaker 2: Green Bay.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I mean, granted, they don't shockingly lose those two games
- 15:20Speaker 1: because remember, for some reason, the Patriots are always playing
- 15:23Speaker 1: bad in Florida.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that is true.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I'm not saying they're going to lose. I'm just saying
- 15:29Speaker 1: they have these weird games in Florida.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean, it's Florida, and it's a Northeast team,
- 15:35Speaker 2: especially this time of year. And actually, we're coming up
- 15:38Speaker 2: on the one-year anniversary of when I went up to
- 15:41Speaker 2: the Foxborough, Boston area. And honestly, Nova, if you ever
- 15:45Speaker 2: get a chance to go up there this time of year,
- 15:47Speaker 2: I would recommend it. It is gorgeous. It is absolutely.
- 15:51Speaker 2: The parking will drive you up a wall with how
- 15:54Speaker 2: expensive it is. But the scenery of driving on I-95
- 16:00Speaker 2: and the autumn foliage is worth it.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, continuing with the Bears. About what I expected
- 16:07Speaker 1: from them. You know, I thought Caleb Willis would be
- 16:09Speaker 1: the takeover of the game, and I figured he would
- 16:11Speaker 1: be the reason they'd win this game. Look at the
- 16:13Speaker 1: receiving count. Luther Burton caught all four of his passes.
- 16:16Speaker 1: He got 130 yards and a touchdown. Colson Loveland's coming alive.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Romo Dunzey's becoming a safety net. Oh, yeah, and then
- 16:22Speaker 1: the bad news. Colt Komet, I think, is out for
- 16:24Speaker 1: the season. He injured his knee. Yeah, he is.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Now on the season-ending... injured reserve.
- 16:31Speaker 1: And also why is that number familiar for colt commit sets.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Oh come on now oh give me a break three
- 16:44Speaker 2: were 28 god damn.
- 16:46Speaker 1: It hey i wasn't gonna if brandon isn't able here
- 16:49Speaker 1: to do it i'm gonna do it for him.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Well brandon there you go bud Um, the other thing
- 16:55Speaker 2: that I will say about this game, at least from
- 16:57Speaker 2: my advantage point, because again, Atlanta just came, just played Chicago. Yes.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Chicago pulled their starters.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Chicago had their brother backups in. Yes. Atlanta forced a
- 17:08Speaker 2: furious comeback. Yes, yes, yes. But at the same time,
- 17:14Speaker 2: Frickin' Kyler Gordon, man. What the hell in two weeks? Look,
- 17:21Speaker 2: after the way the Bears defense has played the last
- 17:23Speaker 2: two weeks, I am not upset at how Atlanta played
- 17:27Speaker 2: against them now because these disguised blitzes, man, they were
- 17:32Speaker 2: getting even frickin' Drake May.
- 17:36Speaker 1: And Drake Mays, not even a mobile quarterback. He's just
- 17:38Speaker 1: a pocket passer. And with the ability to scramble and run,
- 17:41Speaker 1: of course. But, like, having a QB spy against a
- 17:43Speaker 1: pocket passer archetype is, like, devastating.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's, like... It's just crazy with how... Like, look,
- 17:52Speaker 2: Kyler Gordon comes back from the Pup Bliss, and immediately
- 17:55Speaker 2: the Bears unlocked something in their disguised Blitz coverages. Outside
- 18:02Speaker 2: of that, I mean.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Uh i mean malik muhammad not too terrible jalen johnson
- 18:08Speaker 2: i think jalen johnson i think he had what like
- 18:10Speaker 2: two penalties in this game or something like that.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I mean probably in the team stats category.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Well they don't they don't say that in the like
- 18:20Speaker 2: you actually have to okay that's a new england penalty.
- 18:25Speaker 1: You have to remember which point in the game he
- 18:26Speaker 1: had those penalties because um yeah i will say like
- 18:30Speaker 1: go in detail this game because of class, but I
- 18:32Speaker 1: was able to catch the tail end of the game
- 18:34Speaker 1: live somehow. And yeah, the game was rather close how
- 18:37Speaker 1: we all anticipated it. It's just that Chicago is good
- 18:41Speaker 1: against everybody, but except when they play divisional opponents. Don't
- 18:45Speaker 1: ask me why.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, don't ask me why either. I mean, I'm still looking.
- 18:53Speaker 2: It actually doesn't even look like Jalen Johnson really did
- 18:57Speaker 2: much in this game. So maybe I'm just thinking about
- 19:00Speaker 2: a previous game that Jalen Johnson had. But, I mean, hey, look, Chicago,
- 19:05Speaker 2: 5-2 now, leading the... Well, no, wait, I almost spoke
- 19:13Speaker 2: out of turn there. Almost leading the NFC North.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I mean, even if they were matching the same record
- 19:20Speaker 1: as the NFC North leaders, their division record is 0-2, so... Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 2: True. Well, let's see what happens... The next game that they... Yeah.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I don't think New England's in a bad position. Yes,
- 19:34Speaker 1: one and three in a row sucks, but let's be real.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Losing to Chicago isn't a bad thing, especially given the
- 19:41Speaker 1: context of how good this Bears team is with Caleb.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, especially with how they're playing uh with caleb williams
- 19:47Speaker 2: now um and this is what we saw in week
- 19:50Speaker 2: one against carolina and for again look it's a brian
- 19:54Speaker 2: flores defense so um.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Where where where we get that oh oh when they
- 20:00Speaker 1: lost the vikings yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah the the brian flores effect there um But, yeah,
- 20:07Speaker 2: I mean, I wouldn't sweat on this if I'm a
- 20:10Speaker 2: New England fan, especially with who they're playing next week.
- 20:13Speaker 2: If they lose next week, however, then you can sound
- 20:18Speaker 2: the freaking klaxon alarm.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Somebody's got to. Anyway, what happened in Paris?
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yes, let's go to Petty. Bonjour, Supernova.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I somehow was awake for the second half of this game.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I was awake for it all. And I was just
- 20:41Speaker 2: praying in fantasy after DK Metcalf caught a 51-yard catch
- 20:48Speaker 2: and run that Aaron Rodgers was going to target him
- 20:51Speaker 2: in the end zone. And he targeted Darnell Washington.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you? He's a physical freak specimen.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Because I wanted fantasy points, of course.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Speaking of fantasy, I had to start Tyler Shuck again
- 21:10Speaker 1: in fantasy, unfortunately.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Admittedly, that's not terrible, though. I mean, 30-38, 278, a
- 21:16Speaker 2: touchdown and an interception. Not horrible, but what really is
- 21:23Speaker 2: the catalyst, and again, I'm agreeing this with how Brandon
- 21:29Speaker 2: posted in his notes, Saints run game, 17 carries, 18
- 21:37Speaker 2: yards and three of them were the quarterback.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Assuming off scrambles.
- 21:44Speaker 2: And when you take out the quarterback, you had 14
- 21:48Speaker 2: carries for 11 yards. Look, I can shit on new
- 21:55Speaker 2: Orleans as a Falcons fan. I can, but I'm not
- 22:01Speaker 2: going to, I just feel sorry for you guys. Like,
- 22:07Speaker 2: I feel sorry that you have this horrible run game.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I feel sorry that the NFL had to send a
- 22:16Speaker 2: horrible excuse of a football team. The only reason I
- 22:20Speaker 2: believe they sent you over there is because your fucking
- 22:23Speaker 2: logo is a fleur-de-lis. But, yeah, no, this is bad.
- 22:31Speaker 2: even by new Orleans standards. Like when you factor in
- 22:34Speaker 2: guys like Reggie Bush was in that backfield, Mark Ingram
- 22:38Speaker 2: was in that backfield. Like Alvin Camara was too.
- 22:42Speaker 1: And he did nothing.
- 22:44Speaker 2: He had five yards rushing and 57 yards receiving. Now,
- 22:51Speaker 2: granted he caught all seven of his targets, but.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I also regret that for me. I think Travis HN
- 22:57Speaker 1: is in IR too. So that's another bloated or run game.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I'm not even going to factor in a Chan. Cause
- 23:05Speaker 2: I don't even think he was doing much for new
- 23:09Speaker 2: Orleans at the time of his injury. Let me, let
- 23:11Speaker 2: me just pull, let me just pull that up real quick.
- 23:14Speaker 2: If I go to, I go to the stats on
- 23:17Speaker 2: new Orleans and we go.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Rushing right there. Oh, you're on country Miller.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I'm not trying to be Travis agent. 30 carries, 128 yards.
- 23:34Speaker 2: This is abysmal.
- 23:39Speaker 1: It also showed us the Saints' flies are really just one-dimensional.
- 23:42Speaker 1: They can pass the ball really good, but they have
- 23:44Speaker 1: no run game.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, again, we've had my debates with Brandon
- 23:50Speaker 2: about Chris Olave v. Drake London. I still believe it's
- 23:54Speaker 2: Drake London over Olave. But he also said that Aaron
- 24:00Speaker 2: Rodgers still looks like shit, and there's not much to
- 24:03Speaker 2: say about how bad both teams actually looked here.
- 24:06Speaker 1: But the thing is, the Steelers are not going to
- 24:08Speaker 1: be seen as a bad team because they're 5-2, and
- 24:10Speaker 1: they're comfortably second place in the AFC North. And that
- 24:15Speaker 1: might be because of an easy schedule, but it also
- 24:17Speaker 1: could just be the fact that they just have a
- 24:19Speaker 1: high floor because of how decent players are. Another good
- 24:24Speaker 1: game for Jalen Warren, 100 yards rushing. Why can't we
- 24:26Speaker 1: see that more consistently? And Yeah, I think the thing
- 24:31Speaker 1: with the receiving room for Pittsburgh is it's like Aaron
- 24:34Speaker 1: Rodgers has his favorites for every type of game. He
- 24:36Speaker 1: usually goes tight ends for red zone touchdowns more than likely.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And if you wonder why I don't have much to
- 24:41Speaker 1: say about the Steelers, it's just that I really don't.
- 24:43Speaker 1: This just feels like a standard Steelers win.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Honestly, it kind of does. I mean, Pittsburgh is now
- 24:49Speaker 2: 3-0 against the NFC South this year because they beat
- 24:53Speaker 2: Atlanta week one, even though, again, I'll still maintain it.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I would have never picked Atlanta to win week one. Now, granted,
- 25:03Speaker 2: the way Atlanta's been playing the last couple of weeks,
- 25:05Speaker 2: which we're going to talk about Atlanta momentarily, I might
- 25:09Speaker 2: have been crazy enough to pick Atlanta against Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh, but...
- 25:13Speaker 2: Got to be real.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Cooper Rush was never going to do it.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Cooper Rush was never going to do it. Jack Strand
- 25:19Speaker 2: was never going to do it. Tua wasn't going to
- 25:21Speaker 2: do it. Andy Dalton might've been able to do it.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I mean, he was one in Pittsburgh before, but we
- 25:26Speaker 2: didn't have Andy Dalton at the time.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah. He was in Philly. Yeah.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Um, but other than that, I mean, what, what more
- 25:36Speaker 2: can you say about, about Pittsburgh? I mean, yeah, again,
- 25:39Speaker 2: they beat Atlanta. They beat Tampa. They beat new Orleans now.
- 25:45Speaker 1: All they had.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 1: And then their other wins, I think were Cincinnati.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Because I know that one, because for some reason Cincinnati
- 25:53Speaker 1: never plays good against the.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Oh, that dumps the fire.
- 25:57Speaker 2: And then they have to wait until Christmas to potentially
- 26:02Speaker 2: do what... What's his name? Mike Vrabel said last year
- 26:08Speaker 2: when the Patriots beat the Bucs in Tampa where they're
- 26:12Speaker 2: the NFC South champs because they went 4-0 against the
- 26:15Speaker 2: NFC South.
- 26:16Speaker 1: That's so funny to think about how much... the North
- 26:20Speaker 1: division seemed to be on fire and then the South
- 26:21Speaker 1: division seemed to be disasters.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I mean, we'll just stay with the
- 26:31Speaker 2: NFC South. And before we get into the one game,
- 26:34Speaker 2: let's talk about the real shocker game. What the hell
- 26:39Speaker 2: was this?
- 26:41Speaker 1: The only thing we knew is that Baker Mayfield was
- 26:43Speaker 1: back from a stomach injury. That's the only thing I
- 26:45Speaker 1: got from this game before the score, but you.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Know, I don't understand it. I'm literally speechless. Now, again,
- 26:56Speaker 2: the Bucs, yeah, they got Baker Mayfield back. Yeah, Baker
- 27:00Speaker 2: was wearing a custom-made glove that I think was just
- 27:04Speaker 2: a freaking baseball glove that the Rays decided to, you know,
- 27:09Speaker 2: make fun in Buccaneers colors or whatever to assist him
- 27:15Speaker 2: with his.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Uh, with his hand or whatever, but yeah, I mean, look,
- 27:22Speaker 2: the guy, 7-Eleven, 7-Eleven? You might want.
- 27:31Speaker 1: To go to the convenience store for something at this rate.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Uh, my Mandarin is not good. My Mandarin is not good.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Oh, I thought you were talking about going to 7-Eleven
- 27:39Speaker 1: because he went 7 for 11 on his past attempts.
- 27:41Speaker 2: No, I was trying to do that, uh, scene from
- 27:44Speaker 2: Rush Hour 2 where they're interrogating, um, The one guy
- 27:50Speaker 2: at the Chinese restaurant that turned out to be the
- 27:53Speaker 2: illegal gambling casino in the back. And the guy called
- 27:57Speaker 2: Chris Tucker's... He called Carter, you know, 7-Eleven to Lee,
- 28:02Speaker 2: and Lee is like, 7-Eleven? And he was like, because
- 28:05Speaker 2: his mouth never shuts.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and... I don't know what happened to this game.
- 28:12Speaker 1: All I know is that the defense for the Buccaneers
- 28:14Speaker 1: came alive for some reason. Special teams also came alive.
- 28:18Speaker 1: that was pretty much like what I've come to know
- 28:20Speaker 1: what happened. It's like defense's special teams exploded on Carolina.
- 28:24Speaker 2: As evidenced by a 26-point second quarter. If I'm not mistaken,
- 28:32Speaker 2: I read a stat about this. The Buccaneers are the
- 28:37Speaker 2: first team in NFL, or the first team since the
- 28:42Speaker 2: 2018 Jets, if I remember correctly. I think it was
- 28:45Speaker 2: the 2018 Jets to have... a touchdown, a defensive touchdown,
- 28:52Speaker 2: a blocked field goal for a defensive two-point conversion, and
- 29:04Speaker 2: a fumble recovery, a defensive touchdown in the same quarter
- 29:11Speaker 2: since the 2018 New York Jets. And guess who the
- 29:17Speaker 2: head coach was of that Jets team?
- 29:20Speaker 1: Todd Bowles. Yep.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Outside of that, I mean, look, Tez Johnson's touchdown catch,
- 29:29Speaker 2: I watched the touchdown, and Baker quacked it. And you
- 29:34Speaker 2: heard my voice crack when I said quack, because literally
- 29:38Speaker 2: it was a duck ball.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Oh man bucky irving another 100 100 yard rushing performance
- 29:45Speaker 1: yeah i mean 258 rushing yards brandon.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Said that He could have suited up for the Bucs
- 29:54Speaker 2: and the Panthers. Wouldn't have been able to stop him either.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Holy fuck, where did the Carolina defense go?
- 30:02Speaker 1: They decided to revert back to week one for him
- 30:03Speaker 1: when he allowed almost 60 points to Chicago.
- 30:07Speaker 2: But that's Chicago. Like, that's understandable with the way Chicago,
- 30:12Speaker 2: because remember, Chicago, we're going to have the number one
- 30:14Speaker 2: scoring offense in NFL history this year.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Meanwhile here, I don't think it's because of the Bucs offense. Yes,
- 30:21Speaker 1: he got the two touchdowns from Bucky Irving, then the
- 30:24Speaker 1: Baker to Tess Johnson touchdown. I had to think the
- 30:27Speaker 1: game was won for the Bucs because of defensive special teams.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Bryce Young looked like he was in hell that whole game.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Oh boy, did he ever look like he was in hell.
- 30:36Speaker 2: He was taking unnecessary sacks. He was looking like a
- 30:41Speaker 2: deer in headlights. I mean, the touchdown catch to Darren Waller,
- 30:45Speaker 2: I remember... I think I said it in our Discord
- 30:48Speaker 2: chat that I thought it was Tommy Tremble, and then
- 30:50Speaker 2: I was like, oh, it was Darren Waller.
- 30:53Speaker 1: We've all been there. We've all been there.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Yeah, we've all been there. But, yeah, no, this was
- 31:00Speaker 2: horrible by Carolina. This is probably their burn the tape,
- 31:04Speaker 2: throw it out, and we'll see you next time.
- 31:08Speaker 1: On this.
- 31:09Speaker 2: But at the same time, Does anybody want to win
- 31:15Speaker 2: this goddamn division?
- 31:19Speaker 1: Don't look down for the Falcons, mate.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Ah, that's a good transition point. Let's talk about the
- 31:28Speaker 2: Atlanta Falcons. Winners for the first time at home this year. Winners.
- 31:37Speaker 1: This one shocks me because the 49ers were undefeated heading
- 31:41Speaker 1: into this game, and the Falcons were the first team
- 31:42Speaker 1: to knock off an undefeated, one of the three remaining
- 31:45Speaker 1: undefeated teams. Uh-huh.
- 31:48Speaker 2: And let me just ask you this. Have you ever
- 31:53Speaker 2: heard of, or have you ever thought a loss never
- 31:56Speaker 2: meant less in an NFL game before Nova?
- 32:01Speaker 1: Depends on the contest, because remember, the Niners at this
- 32:04Speaker 1: point may as well be NFC favorites. or at least
- 32:07Speaker 1: the favorites to make it to the Super Bowl representing
- 32:09Speaker 1: the NFC, but the loss depends on how bad it was,
- 32:12Speaker 1: and to be honest, I mean, obviously there's some mistakes
- 32:16Speaker 1: with the 49ers, obviously Brock Purdy for two interceptions, I
- 32:18Speaker 1: think one of them was bad, and the other was
- 32:21Speaker 1: just a crazy toe-touching, if I could not confuse my
- 32:25Speaker 1: own words, toe-touch sideline catch by Jesse Bates, a couple
- 32:30Speaker 1: fumbles as well, and let's be real, if you have
- 32:33Speaker 1: four turnovers to the Falcon Zero, you're never going to
- 32:35Speaker 1: win that game. Yeah.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I mean, unless you still control a time of possession
- 32:41Speaker 2: with the four turnovers and you mitigate, uh, the team
- 32:44Speaker 2: with the plus four and the turnover margin to, you know,
- 32:48Speaker 2: punts or just field goals and stuff like that, not touchdowns. Um,
- 32:54Speaker 2: But yeah, no. The reason I ask you that is
- 32:56Speaker 2: because that was fucking Emmanuel Acho's discussion about this game.
- 33:01Speaker 2: He was like, never has a loss meant less than
- 33:05Speaker 2: the San Francisco 49ers because they had no Mike Evans.
- 33:08Speaker 2: They had no Nick Bosa. They had no this. They
- 33:11Speaker 2: had no this. They had no this. They had no that.
- 33:14Speaker 2: They lost Christian McCaffrey in the game. So, you know,
- 33:19Speaker 2: he's making the injury card excuse.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I can't stand Otto sometimes.
- 33:27Speaker 2: So I'm going to raise him with, or I'm going
- 33:29Speaker 2: to call him on the injuries. We had no Avion Terrell.
- 33:35Speaker 2: We had no Divine Diablo. We had no Bryan Robinson.
- 33:40Speaker 2: We had, we didn't know we were going to have
- 33:44Speaker 2: Kendall Daniels. Z'Darrius Smith has been a little banged up.
- 33:50Speaker 2: We had no Olamide Zaccheaus.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Ha!
- 33:54Speaker 2: I can't believe I just used that one to prove
- 33:57Speaker 2: my point. That might have just invalidated my claim there.
- 34:02Speaker 2: But yeah, no, Atlanta was banged up in this game too. Like,
- 34:07Speaker 2: and again, I will say, because you brought up the
- 34:09Speaker 2: two interceptions. The first one by Jesse Bates, that was insane.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I was just like, holy shit. He toe dragged his feet,
- 34:18Speaker 2: which was incredible. The second one, man, Kendall Daniels. Look,
- 34:26Speaker 2: when we drafted him, I didn't know much about him.
- 34:28Speaker 2: But again, I don't follow college sports all that much, Nova.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I really don't.
- 34:34Speaker 1: As evidence of the Archman thing last week.
- 34:36Speaker 2: As evidence of the Archman thing last week, yes. But I...
- 34:42Speaker 2: I went and I revisited, or I remember when we
- 34:45Speaker 2: drafted Kendall Daniels, cause you know, like NFL network and ESPN,
- 34:50Speaker 2: those sometimes give you images of the war room for teams,
- 34:54Speaker 2: even on day three and all that. And I remember
- 34:57Speaker 2: Matt Ryan being fired up that we got this kid.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, something's up with this. Like, why is Matt? Like, look,
- 35:08Speaker 2: you're the president of football, all that, but you're getting
- 35:11Speaker 2: this excited. over a fourth-round linebacker out of Oklahoma. And,
- 35:17Speaker 2: I mean, Nova, he had a fucking Madden user lurk
- 35:22Speaker 2: interception on Brock Purdy. And let's remember what happened with
- 35:28Speaker 2: Kendall Daniels. Last week, it took three commercial breaks to
- 35:33Speaker 2: stabilize him.
- 35:36Speaker 1: And now he comes back a hero.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm, I'm, I'm speechless. I'm just like every player
- 35:45Speaker 2: in Atlanta. They were like, this is the first time
- 35:46Speaker 2: I've ever seen this happen before. I mean, yeah, they
- 35:49Speaker 2: probably saw it before and they're just, and they're, you know,
- 35:51Speaker 2: they probably just don't remember it. Like, you know, probably
- 35:54Speaker 2: happened like high school or maybe a college game or
- 36:00Speaker 2: probably peewee football or something. That's like way out of
- 36:04Speaker 2: their memory banks at this point. But I mean, again, Look,
- 36:10Speaker 2: I will say this. Michael Penix, man. He was great.
- 36:16Speaker 2: He was insanely great against the Niners. Now again, look,
- 36:23Speaker 2: I will give Ocho a little bit of flack on the.
- 36:26Speaker 1: You never give Ocho flack. No, you never do. Let's
- 36:29Speaker 1: be honest.
- 36:30Speaker 2: I mean, most of what he said was horse shit
- 36:34Speaker 2: on his argument. Because, you know, oh, I'm so sophisticated
- 36:38Speaker 2: at this. But, look, let's be real. Even though they
- 36:42Speaker 2: didn't have Nick Bosa on their defense, was Fred Warner playing?
- 36:50Speaker 1: Huh, how have I not heard his name? How?
- 36:54Speaker 2: Was Fred Warner playing?
- 36:56Speaker 1: Yes, 16 total tackles, 6 solo, and 2 for loss.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Was Dre Greenlaw playing?
- 37:02Speaker 1: Yes, he was. 12 total tackles, 4 solo.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Emmanuel Acho, your argument is shite.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Always has always will be.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that was just absolutely asinine. Absolutely dumb, dumb, dumb.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Almost as dumb. And I'm going to preface it with this.
- 37:29Speaker 2: You people out there on Twitter are so goddamn stupid.
- 37:34Speaker 2: It's not even funny. What the fuck, man?
- 37:40Speaker 1: What did they say now?
- 37:42Speaker 3: Oh, apparently Atlanta in their throwback uniform and putting the
- 37:47Speaker 3: old throwback logo on some stripes. Oh, apparently it's Hail
- 37:53Speaker 3: Hitler and Bird Reich and all this. And we're Nazis
- 37:59Speaker 3: like you have got to be absolutely fucking kidding me.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Never in my, look, I know I gave that rant
- 38:13Speaker 2: in week two. I know I gave that rant in
- 38:16Speaker 2: week two. I am not going that long. I'm not
- 38:19Speaker 2: going 21 minutes, but my God, the American society is
- 38:28Speaker 2: Google and basic research would be your best fucking friends
- 38:34Speaker 2: right now. You idiots and plebeians on Twitter, because, You
- 38:40Speaker 2: look at that image, and the first thing you think
- 38:43Speaker 2: of is the living epitome of evil? We just talked
- 38:48Speaker 2: about North Korea at the start of this show. These
- 38:52Speaker 2: guys are worse. But evidently, oh, Atlanta must be like
- 38:57Speaker 2: them because of their throwback uniforms. Help me out, Nova.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Who is the owner of the Atlanta Falcons?
- 39:07Speaker 1: You're going to have to correct me if I'm wrong
- 39:08Speaker 1: about this because my memory is a little shady. Arthur Blank? Correct.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Do you happen to know what Arthur Blank is?
- 39:15Speaker 1: No.
- 39:17Speaker 2: He's Jewish. You idiots out there, you really, really think that... Again,
- 39:26Speaker 2: I don't know if this will sound this... I'm trying
- 39:30Speaker 2: not to be. But you really think a Jewish owner
- 39:33Speaker 2: of an NFL team is going to co-sign his team
- 39:39Speaker 2: with that image? You really think that Arthur Blank didn't
- 39:44Speaker 2: co-sign on that picture? but you're calling for the social
- 39:48Speaker 2: media team and the graphics department team to get this
- 39:53Speaker 2: guy out of here or whoever is in that graphics
- 39:56Speaker 2: design team fired, turn sideways, assume the position, and for
- 40:02Speaker 2: Falcons fans, say it with me, you can blow us.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Because that was so asinine. It took me, it took
- 40:15Speaker 2: every fiber of my being to not just go off
- 40:18Speaker 2: on people when I saw it on Twitter. It ruined
- 40:22Speaker 2: my Thursday night. It ruined my Friday. It ruined my Saturday.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Because people don't learn. People don't study. People don't research. Man,
- 40:37Speaker 2: fucking TMZ and the New York Post. The New York
- 40:39Speaker 2: Post has already been having issues alongside the New York
- 40:43Speaker 2: Times because, again, and I'm not trying to delve into
- 40:47Speaker 2: a political tangent, but let's be real. Every freaking news
- 40:51Speaker 2: site out there in America, you say one thing wrong
- 40:55Speaker 2: and automatically you're fake news. I mean, is that fair
- 40:59Speaker 2: to say no, though?
- 41:00Speaker 1: It's actually just unfair because, as you say, the simplest
- 41:05Speaker 1: thing you can do is do your research and be like, oh,
- 41:06Speaker 1: this is what they've been using for the longest time. Yeah,
- 41:10Speaker 1: it's just dumb overall. It's just personification of the fact
- 41:13Speaker 1: that people are just getting dumber and dumber and nobody's
- 41:15Speaker 1: doing anything about it.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you do basic research. The Falcons colors, they
- 41:21Speaker 2: were red and black for the University of Georgia. But
- 41:25Speaker 2: at the same time, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, they
- 41:27Speaker 2: don't like each other. The owner of the Falcons didn't
- 41:30Speaker 2: want the original owner, by the way, Rankin Smith. He
- 41:35Speaker 2: did not want to alienate Georgia Tech fans, so he
- 41:38Speaker 2: added that gold stripe to pay homage to the Yellow Jackets,
- 41:42Speaker 2: one of the most reputable schools in the nation. So again,
- 41:48Speaker 2: you can blow us if you are that pissed off
- 41:52Speaker 2: about it, because it was... I'm not going to say
- 41:56Speaker 2: that word, because if I do, I'm automatically a problem.
- 42:02Speaker 2: You know the word I want to say, Nova.
- 42:04Speaker 1: You know the word. You said it before.
- 42:07Speaker 2: Well, if I did, I honestly don't remember saying it.
- 42:12Speaker 2: I'd have to go back in the archives for that.
- 42:13Speaker 2: But it was just stupid, man. Like, the worst part
- 42:18Speaker 2: of it was two people in our community and our friend,
- 42:23Speaker 2: our fan base of the game that we love.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Man, even.
- 42:27Speaker 2: They were going off on it, and the Falcons changed
- 42:32Speaker 2: their profile picture too. Like, come on, man. You guys
- 42:42Speaker 2: are horrible. Piss the fuck off on that.
- 42:51Speaker 1: The one thing I will say is there's a reason
- 42:53Speaker 1: I'm wearing a Zentreya VTuber t-shirt today. And it's for
- 42:57Speaker 1: the same reason that Talon, as I said, is like,
- 43:00Speaker 1: I know people are not going to be familiar with VTubers,
- 43:02Speaker 1: but I do enjoy watching Zentreya. And she received the
- 43:04Speaker 1: same treatment from one of her models, which sucks.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Like, it's just ridiculous. Like, again, basic research, people. You
- 43:14Speaker 2: do any kind of basic research. you would know that
- 43:17Speaker 2: it's not Atlanta's intention. Now, I'll give Drew Allen a
- 43:21Speaker 2: little bit of credit with his skit about this on TikTok.
- 43:26Speaker 2: It was hilarious. But at the same time, it was just,
- 43:30Speaker 2: you know, keeping on going off on that. And it's
- 43:33Speaker 2: just so dumb. It is so asinine. If I could
- 43:39Speaker 2: make other adjectives that I could remember already, I would
- 43:43Speaker 2: use them, but I will just end it with the
- 43:46Speaker 2: fact that it is a detrification to American society and
- 43:50Speaker 2: Twitter society when people on Twitter are problematic. The New
- 43:56Speaker 2: York Post and TMZ report that it's our new logo, Nova,
- 44:02Speaker 2: by the way. That's what they said. It was our
- 44:04Speaker 2: new logo. Are you kidding me? Yeah. They said it
- 44:06Speaker 2: was our new logo.
- 44:09Speaker 1: They used it before.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Like that, that was another thing. It was.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Like the first thing you said, throwback uniforms. I'm familiar
- 44:19Speaker 1: with it. Yeah.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Like I don't understand. All I can say is like
- 44:26Speaker 2: Evan Birchfield of the Falcoholic said, hashtag red helmet energy.
- 44:32Speaker 2: The Falcons are now 15 and three in that uniform
- 44:35Speaker 2: combination since 2009. Maybe you should wear it more often. Ah,
- 44:41Speaker 2: don't say that to D Orlando Ledbetter, formerly of the
- 44:43Speaker 2: Atlanta journal constitution. Cause the red helmets, he hated us
- 44:47Speaker 2: going back to them even for throwbacks because it symbolized
- 44:49Speaker 2: a time of losing. Cause Atlanta was horrible. And then
- 44:52Speaker 2: red helmets.
- 44:54Speaker 1: You want to see who else was with red helmets?
- 44:55Speaker 1: How about the Texans?
- 44:58Speaker 2: Ah, that's a good transition over to the G men
- 45:04Speaker 2: against the Houston Texans and Brandon wants to go first
- 45:10Speaker 2: on this one, Nova.
- 45:12Speaker 1: What did he say?
- 45:13Speaker 2: He said, do we write our official J.J. McCarthy apology
- 45:17Speaker 2: letter after his fourth quarter performance last week and this
- 45:21Speaker 2: game against the Texans? Sure, he didn't throw a touchdown,
- 45:25Speaker 2: but in five quarters of football, he has almost 500
- 45:28Speaker 2: yards with zero, question mark, turnovers.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not fun, Voldy. It's not fun to pick.
- 45:37Speaker 2: He has not fumbled. He has not thrown a pick.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Sure, he hasn't thrown that many touchdown passes, but he's
- 45:44Speaker 1: going phenomenal. My first thing I will say is, has
- 45:49Speaker 1: the Vikings held him back all this time?
- 45:57Speaker 2: I don't know if I can co-sign on that one.
- 46:00Speaker 2: That's just a question.
- 46:02Speaker 1: That's not saying I'm right or wrong. I'm just saying
- 46:03Speaker 1: that's just a question.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I know, but that's not... I don't think I can
- 46:06Speaker 2: co-sign on that one, mostly because of the fact that
- 46:11Speaker 2: Kevin O'Connell has been revered as a quarterback whisperer, and
- 46:16Speaker 2: whatever whispering he was doing for J.J. McCarthy was not working.
- 46:22Speaker 1: But apparently all it takes is a hardball.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Apparently all it takes is a hardball.
- 46:28Speaker 1: And also it apparently takes... I'm excited to be taking
- 46:30Speaker 1: an offensive unnecessary roughness penalty for some reason.
- 46:33Speaker 2: That would... Again, we'll be talking a little bit more
- 46:36Speaker 2: about referees in a different game. But, yeah, Mike, Cam
- 46:42Speaker 2: Scadaboo is known for trucking people. Like, that's a truck.
- 46:47Speaker 2: That's an old-school Mike Allstott truck. Like Brandon said, I
- 46:53Speaker 2: don't know where the hell these refs were thinking. But
- 46:58Speaker 2: you hear, person of doubt, unnecessary roughness. Offense number 44.
- 47:05Speaker 2: And you're like, I'm sorry. Unnecessary roughness on a truck.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I keep in mind. This is the day you got
- 47:13Speaker 1: the camp scatter. You got zero touches. And now John
- 47:16Speaker 1: Harbaugh suddenly trust him again.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because like Mike Tomlin said on the Sunday
- 47:21Speaker 2: night countdown, Najee Harris spoke out and now he's unemployed.
- 47:26Speaker 1: That's amazing. But yeah, this game went overtime. And I
- 47:30Speaker 1: think we got to start having a realization with the Texans.
- 47:32Speaker 1: I mean, Maybe Brandon did have a point with not
- 47:34Speaker 1: buying Texan stock because this defense still continues to underwhelm.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Yeah, my brother actually just dropped the Texans defense in fantasy.
- 47:44Speaker 2: I mean, they're completely unreliable right now. It looked good
- 47:49Speaker 2: when you hold the Titans to three points. It looked
- 47:54Speaker 2: good when, who did they play last week? I think
- 47:59Speaker 2: it was the Colts, right?
- 48:00Speaker 1: No, the Jaguars.
- 48:02Speaker 2: Jaguars. I mean, you still gave them 31 points to
- 48:05Speaker 2: the Jaguars in London.
- 48:08Speaker 1: And then they gave a 34, 19, 20, and 36. So, yeah,
- 48:15Speaker 1: I don't know what's happening there. And you know what
- 48:18Speaker 1: the worst part is? CJ Stratton did not throw a
- 48:20Speaker 1: pick or a turnover. So it's like, it's less indicted
- 48:23Speaker 1: that they're losing because of the offense nowadays.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and Brandon actually said he's still not doing a
- 48:30Speaker 2: very good job of playing to prove himself after allegedly
- 48:33Speaker 2: being offered those crazy monetary... Because remember, he's betting on
- 48:37Speaker 2: himself this season. You might be close to crapping out.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Here's the thing. Yeah, he had 1728, 153, and two touchdowns.
- 48:51Speaker 1: No pegs, which is a good thing, but it's like...
- 48:55Speaker 1: gotta elevate if you're worth that 70 million dollar contract
- 48:58Speaker 1: and uh you may it's like he's doing good but
- 49:01Speaker 1: it's like at the same time he's not doing enough.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Yeah he's really not too i mean 153 yards i'm
- 49:08Speaker 2: also just now noticing both quarterbacks threw the ball 28 times.
- 49:15Speaker 1: And jj mccartney got the better end of it.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Yeah but also in like a heartwarming note for this game, man,
- 49:24Speaker 2: how about Tankdale? How about Tankdale coming back after damn
- 49:30Speaker 2: near two years since that horrific leg injury happened? And
- 49:38Speaker 2: he's back, and he catches a 43-yard touchdown. Did you
- 49:41Speaker 2: hear how loud the crowd was?
- 49:45Speaker 1: It was a 43-yard pass. It wasn't a touchdown.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but, like, did you see how loud they
- 49:49Speaker 2: were for that?
- 49:50Speaker 1: I actually didn't because I was paying attention to my game,
- 49:53Speaker 1: but I can imagine it's a heartwarming one if it's
- 49:54Speaker 1: Hank Dell. Yeah, so. And the other heartwarming thing is
- 50:02Speaker 1: Ken Scadaboo because he had the game-winning 42-yard touchdown run.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he had the 42-yard touchdown, and then Devin Singletary,
- 50:11Speaker 2: the former Houston Texan, wins the game for the New
- 50:18Speaker 2: York Giants, who are now 4-2-1, and they're leading the
- 50:25Speaker 2: NFC East. Are they the team to beat in the
- 50:28Speaker 2: NFC East?
- 50:30Speaker 1: Yes, they are. They clearly are. It's no contest that
- 50:33Speaker 1: they're the team to beat. And the only team to
- 50:36Speaker 1: blame themselves for this is the Cowboys. Yep.
- 50:40Speaker 2: And we will talk about the Cowboys in a little bit.
- 50:44Speaker 2: But let's go to a different game.
- 50:51Speaker 1: We have interesting choices.
- 50:54Speaker 2: How about let's talk because we talked about one of
- 50:56Speaker 2: the undefeated teams falling. Let's talk about one that hasn't.
- 51:01Speaker 2: fallen the minnesota vikings defeating the indianapolis cold 16 to.
- 51:08Speaker 1: 10 minnesota's now the best team in football don't at.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Me uh brandon actually will at you because he says
- 51:17Speaker 2: minnesota has to be one of the worst six and
- 51:20Speaker 2: oh teams he's ever seen.
- 51:23Speaker 1: You got it. I mean, yeah, the offense will give
- 51:25Speaker 1: you the reason for it, but they're still winning.
- 51:28Speaker 2: If I'm not mistaken, they only have 10 offensive touchdowns
- 51:31Speaker 2: and they're six and up.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Brian Forrest is having to carry job of his life.
- 51:38Speaker 2: I mean, if there's, I think there's an assistant coach
- 51:41Speaker 2: of the year award now, right?
- 51:45Speaker 1: Is there? I don't recall there being one.
- 51:48Speaker 2: There, there might be one of those. And if there is,
- 51:51Speaker 2: I think we know who's getting it. Because if it
- 51:53Speaker 2: ain't Brian Flores, then who the hell could get it?
- 51:57Speaker 1: Anybody not winning Brian Flores, because remember he lost that
- 51:59Speaker 1: lawsuit one time when he got fired by the Dolphins.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Even still, even still, like if you're getting a like
- 52:06Speaker 2: assistant position, I understand, you know, coach of the year
- 52:09Speaker 2: goes to the head coach. But if there's an assistant
- 52:12Speaker 2: coach of the year, the way that this Vikings defense
- 52:16Speaker 2: where they're blitzing 70% of the time on first down,
- 52:19Speaker 2: they're blitzing 70% of the time on second down. They're
- 52:23Speaker 2: blitzing 70% of the time on third down. I think
- 52:27Speaker 2: Brian Flores likes to blitz.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Your answer is.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 52:33Speaker 1: This was horribly unimpressive by both teams, evidently, but at
- 52:36Speaker 1: least the Vikings did it just enough to win here.
- 52:38Speaker 1: I think also, correct me if I'm wrong, did Will
- 52:41Speaker 1: Reichardt miss a kick? I think he did. Yeah, he did.
- 52:47Speaker 2: He missed a kick in this game. And then, I mean...
- 52:53Speaker 2: I mean, look, Daniel Jones, man. I remember this, and
- 52:59Speaker 2: I'm okay with going on the record to say this.
- 53:01Speaker 2: When the Giants drafted Daniel Jones, I actually defended him.
- 53:07Speaker 2: I defended the pick. I said it might work out.
- 53:10Speaker 2: I was willing to give him a chance.
- 53:13Speaker 1: I'm going to have to stop you there because the
- 53:15Speaker 1: reason why so many, myself included, didn't like the pick
- 53:17Speaker 1: wasn't because we didn't think Daniel Jones was terrible, but
- 53:20Speaker 1: because he was drafted too high for his stock.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Okay, that's fair. But yeah, no, I was thinking that
- 53:28Speaker 2: he would work in New York. And yeah, he did
- 53:33Speaker 2: not work in New York.
- 53:36Speaker 1: He had that one year, but that was just like
- 53:38Speaker 1: a one-hit wonder type of thing.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Yeah, with Brian Dayball and everything. But yeah, no, I mean, Indianapolis,
- 53:46Speaker 2: I mean... You have 108 yards of passing, but you
- 53:50Speaker 2: netted 64 because you took 44 yards in sacks. Like,
- 53:58Speaker 2: you averaged 11 yards a sack.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Jeez.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Yeah, this is not a good team in Indianapolis.
- 54:12Speaker 1: All you can do is blame Chris Ballard. Thankfully, he's gone,
- 54:16Speaker 1: but it's not– going to solve all the problems. Remember,
- 54:19Speaker 1: you still don't have their first round pick because it's
- 54:21Speaker 1: a sauce gardener trade. That's Jets property. I will say
- 54:25Speaker 1: they have made a couple of moves at the time
- 54:26Speaker 1: of this recording. They traded away Quentin Nelson to the
- 54:29Speaker 1: Seahawks of all teams. And they traded to Forrest Buckner
- 54:32Speaker 1: back to the 49ers.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Yep, that they did. And admittedly, Nova, that was what
- 54:38Speaker 2: I was going to say when you were talking about
- 54:40Speaker 2: the Jets pick. I was going to be like, well,
- 54:42Speaker 2: at least they have Quentin Nelson.
- 54:45Speaker 1: They don't anymore because he's now a Seahawk.
- 54:48Speaker 2: Well, at least they have DeForest Buckner.
- 54:50Speaker 1: He's back as a 49er.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Well, Jonathan Taylor might be next.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Well, we talked about Call of Duty at the start
- 54:59Speaker 2: of the game. I think I need to go my
- 55:00Speaker 2: demonic announcer because it looks like the Colts are going
- 55:03Speaker 2: to be having a fire sale.
- 55:08Speaker 1: I mean, before we got started on it, the deadline
- 55:11Speaker 1: is nearing. So it's like if anybody needs a running
- 55:13Speaker 1: back and they try to trade for Jonathan Taylor. You
- 55:15Speaker 1: got to make a push for it, because if you
- 55:17Speaker 1: can get a first-round pick from Jonathan Taylor, that might
- 55:19Speaker 1: save you from that Sauce Gardener trade.
- 55:22Speaker 2: It might. I mean, Jonathan Taylor's definitely worth a one,
- 55:24Speaker 2: in my opinion. At worst, a couple of twos.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it wouldn't be with that Sauce Gardener trade. But
- 55:35Speaker 1: speaking of which, guess what? I picked the Dolphins to
- 55:38Speaker 1: win the game, and I was vindicated for it.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Let's go. You were vindicated for it. on this one
- 55:45Speaker 2: uh let me check the notes uh where is the
- 55:48Speaker 2: note okay yeah um no brandon wants to go first
- 55:52Speaker 2: on this one uh man fuck both these teams no
- 55:58Speaker 2: nova the dolphins are still the worst team.
- 56:01Speaker 1: In the league they are not they are not they
- 56:02Speaker 1: are not.
- 56:03Speaker 2: No nova a win doesn't make them not suck I
- 56:09Speaker 2: didn't say they didn't suck. Who are half these Jets players?
- 56:13Speaker 2: Who are half these Dolphins players? Why can't they both lose? Sincerely,
- 56:18Speaker 2: a Pats fan.
- 56:19Speaker 1: I don't know what every division rival hopes for, but
- 56:23Speaker 1: I can't. I figured this would be the game the
- 56:25Speaker 1: Jets would lose. I just didn't think it'd be this way.
- 56:28Speaker 1: I thought it'd be like a random Miami blowout.
- 56:32Speaker 2: I mean, I think we all did on that one.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Well....
- 56:37Speaker 2: Because Brandon and I picked the Jets.
- 56:40Speaker 2: What I was going to say was I was thinking, Brandon,
- 56:44Speaker 2: when I read his notes about this game, that last line,
- 56:48Speaker 2: why can't they both lose? He sounds just like Tom
- 56:51Speaker 2: Grossy doing every NFL fan's reaction to the week. And
- 56:55Speaker 2: anytime as a division rival matchup, a third team was like, well,
- 56:58Speaker 2: I was hoping for the meteor to strike.
- 57:01Speaker 1: You got to hope that for the Jets because Aaron
- 57:03Speaker 1: Glenn's done.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Oh my God, is he done?
- 57:06Speaker 1: He's 0-8 division games.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Man, he is flatter than a five o'clock pancake fire.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Here's the thing. I kept saying, you can't keep calling
- 57:19Speaker 1: for the Jets trap. And guess what? I was right
- 57:22Speaker 1: about it. You could never trust the Jets to do
- 57:24Speaker 1: anything right.
- 57:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but you would have thought they'd at least be
- 57:28Speaker 2: able to beat a winless team.
- 57:32Speaker 1: I knew this would happen.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Yeah, evidently you knew this was going to happen. But,
- 57:39Speaker 2: I mean, again, though, a win for the Dolphins. I mean,
- 57:44Speaker 2: he is right there. A win for the Dolphins doesn't
- 57:46Speaker 2: make both these teams not suck.
- 57:49Speaker 1: I never said that neither of them suck. I just
- 57:50Speaker 1: thought one sucked more than the other.
- 57:53Speaker 2: I mean, look, we'll talk about a different team. Oh, wait, no,
- 57:58Speaker 2: the Chargers didn't play this week.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Yeah, they're still 0-6, buddy.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:05Speaker 1: The Chargers are officially the worst team in football.
- 58:09Speaker 2: If we're going by record, I would agree. If we're
- 58:11Speaker 2: going by overall, it's a coin flip. Whichever side you
- 58:17Speaker 2: want to take, I'm not going to argue with you
- 58:21Speaker 2: on this one.
- 58:22Speaker 1: At least we thought you had a pretty good game.
- 58:28Speaker 1: For Super 21, 208 yards, two touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Look at that. He had a Russian touchdown.
- 58:36Speaker 2: And I honestly look. Congratulations, Miami. You finally get on
- 58:42Speaker 2: the wind. You're still a horrible team. You're still building.
- 58:46Speaker 1: You're building something. Jeff has his first win.
- 58:48Speaker 2: You're still going to hear very early in the draft.
- 58:55Speaker 2: And the Jets are going to hear that. What is it?
- 58:57Speaker 2: Three times in the first 20 picks.
- 59:01Speaker 1: That depends on how the Cowboys do.
- 59:04Speaker 2: True, and we'll see how they fare later on in
- 59:09Speaker 2: the season.
- 59:10Speaker 1: The year, but... Speaking of the other team that sucks,
- 59:13Speaker 1: how did the Titans play this one close? Because I
- 59:17Speaker 1: did say last week that they wouldn't be surprised that
- 59:19Speaker 1: this would be a randomly close game, but this was
- 59:20Speaker 1: just too close for comfort for everybody.
- 59:23Speaker 2: It definitely was too close for comfort.
- 59:26Speaker 1: I mean....
- 59:30Speaker 2: Brandon's notes say he who shall not be named.
- 59:35Speaker 1: The fact that he had another game winning drive is absurd.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Did the double magic transfer from the Broncos to the
- 59:41Speaker 1: Browns now?
- 59:44Speaker 2: No, but the referee's missing a blatant false start on
- 59:46Speaker 2: the Browns preventing this game potentially from overtime. Yeah, no,
- 59:51Speaker 2: that was as blatant a false start as I've ever seen. Like,
- 59:56Speaker 2: And I know the referees, they usually give a small
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: inkling of leeway to like, you know, the offensive lineman
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: is timing the snap as opposed to a defensive lineman
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: timing the snap. But it's like very, very, very, very, very, very,
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: very limited. This one was blatant. Like he was gone
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: before the ball was snapped and they let the play
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: go off. And then they tacked on an unnecessary roughness
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: penalty that put the Browns even more in the field
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: goal range to kick the game-winning field goal.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Was that the tackle to Harold Fannin Jr.? Or was
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: that to someone else? Uh.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: If we pull the field goal, it was....
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Five-yard penalty? Oh, that's the field goal one. It's not...
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: It wasn't there?
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Uh, maybe not. Was it on the... No, it wasn't
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: on that one. Am I missing?
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: This is perfect. This is perfect.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Did I? I guess. Well, okay, no, he had Harold
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: Bannon to the Tennessee Knights. It was a 36-yard play.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: And then there was a defensive offside.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. because the only thing they could do was
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: try to time the kick and block it for force
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: overtime because of this is a frustrating one for Tennessee
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: for me personally I had Tony Pollard in fantasy he
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: had three touchdowns.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: He did have three touchdowns with again you posted in
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: our discord chat about it where it's like Tony Pollard
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: I'm like the fuck is happening in Tennessee right now he.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Had to be 35 points in fantasy alone.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: I mean, their 835 is a good number.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: However, he was the only bright spot because Cam Ward
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: had numerous chances to take control of this game, and
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: he just kept missing passes over and over again, including
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: that game when we take that tying drive. That's where
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: I told you about the third touchdown happened, where he
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: had a way to hook Cody Bellinger, and he's over
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: through him.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Oh, you mean Daniel Bellinger?
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Oh, Daniel Bellinger. Why am I thinking baseball? I'm telling you,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Cody Bellinger being a Dodger for a long time. I'm
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: not used to him.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: And also probably because at the time of recording, The
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: World Series is going on game four and the Rays
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: are actually winning. Yeah, but they're down 3-0 in the series.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: They are down 3-0 in the series. The series is
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: basically over at this point. Why did that just open
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: up on my phone?
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, but again, Cam Ward. It says
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: something when you had the game plan to work, but
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: you couldn't elevate your play. Just look at your stats.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: 20 completions, 31 times, 181 yards and a pick. Those
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: are average numbers, and we still need to have a
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: discussion of Cam Ward being one of the worst first
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: overall picks in recent memory.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and I mean, also, I'm looking at it, Nova.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: Cam Ward's QBR was 66.5. His rating was a 66.7.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: If only either.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Of those numbers were 6.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: I don't know if that would have been a good
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: thing if they were.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: 66.6, baby!
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I understand that.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: It's a meme story.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: It is for memes, and I'm also going to hit
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: that klaxon again because... Let's just bite the bullet. Have
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: at it, Nova.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I've been waiting for this one because you've had a rant.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Brandon had a rant. I never thought I had to
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: make a rant, but here I am. I'll just read
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: a script by script and give my personal thoughts. For context,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: I wrote this script about 20 minutes after the game
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: was over. When I tuned out of the game after T.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Higgins got to the end zone during the freaking collapse
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: of the century, I was that livid. I wanted to
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: slam something, but I was just disappointed and depressed at
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: the end. You guys know about it. Brandon knows about it,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: but I have made a thousand word rant. And I
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: wrote it. I wrote 800 of these words in 20 minutes, Talon.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: He did, ladies and gentlemen. I can't confirm the 20
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: minutes he had 800 words. Now, I don't know. I
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: don't know what's in this document. I'm just going to
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: sit here and enjoy the show.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Here you go. So here is code word for word.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: You want to know how depressing it is for me,
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: a Ravens fan, to feel. Try having to deal with
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: all the four-quarter chokes that keep happening. What is this,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: like 22 since the new decade? It's been utterly pathetic
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: how little fight back this team has at any given moment,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: including what you all witnessed this past Sunday. What do
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: you mean the entire team quit at halftime? I don't
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: care that Tyler Huntley was the quarterback this game. He
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: was good that first half. I mean, you look at
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: the stat line. Sure, he had that screen touchdown to
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Zay Flowers that wasn't really his thing. That was more
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: of a Zay Flowers thing. But still, he was serviceable.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: That entire team gave up after everyone. 35 unanswered points
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: for the Bengals. After we had clamped Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: and T. Higgins. This is very inexcusable for an organization
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: that is vying to be a Super Bowl contender in
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: this window, and yet we cannot close out games. Dallas
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: somehow was the exception. The Tennessee game three weeks ago
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: was another sign that we were bound to blow another lead,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: which again, they got close to that game. They could
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: have won. It's routine at this point, and all it
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: does is fuel my anger that turns into depression. Marlon Humphrey,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: hooked beyond recognition, blowing coverages, missing tackles. He should be
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: gone with the sorry excuses he shared after the game
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: about not wanting to see Jamar Chase in coverage. I mean,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: you ought to listen to him in that hosting conference.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: He was checked out. He doesn't want to face him ever.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: That's sorry mentality. Mark Andrews. The personification of Payne, since
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: he had that stinker in the playoffs at Buffalo, consistently
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: costing us games no matter the situation. Brandon even knows
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: about this because of the whole Mark Andrews lateral fumble
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: thing during 79 football last year. Why did we choose
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: him over Isaiah Likely? In two straight divisional games, zero
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: points in the second half. I repeat, zero. Even Ed
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Reed is calling out the coaching staff for being terrible.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: And we fired John Harbaugh, who perpetually choked Gaze away
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: and failed to take any accountability for it. And he's
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: thriving in New York despite the Kangstadaboo controversy. Our losses
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: this year were all chokes. To the Saints, Browns, and Bengals.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: No one shows up in the second half. And all
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: this leaves me is misery. Lamar's high ankle sprains a
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: failure by the general manager Eric DaCosta to address the
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Tyler Linderbaum absence. A failure to have a plan to
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: win our centers to keep getting injured to the point
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: our rookie guard, Vega Ioane, has to play center. We
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: trade for Cam Juergens to address it, who was dealt
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: for more than Quentin Nelson's trade value. And Ioane got
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: hurt this Sunday with a knee injury. Oh, and he's
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: tried to fix this Olai for Lamar since 2022? It
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: is insulting that Eric DaCosta has failed to give Lamar
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: any sense of help. And that the best thing that
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: we can do is rely on the same people that
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: are successful looking at you, Mark Andrews. The fact that
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: all of you on social media, including you, Talon and Brandon,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: keep clowning us for all of it is just vindication
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: that the whole team is a failure no matter when
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: we make the right moves. Now it makes total sense
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: why the Eagles command this game didn't get flexed out
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: of Sunday Night Football because all of you want to
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: clown on the Ravens much further than we already have.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: I cannot, in good faith, Be happy knowing I get
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: all depressed outside and angry inside. And here's the thing.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: I do not believe even if Lamar Jackson was somehow
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: healthy for this game that we would have won this
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: game for how bad the defense played. Who was stopping them?
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Humphreys bad. Starks kept missing stack holes. Roquan, a linebacker,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: couldn't cover Tee Higgins if his life depended on it.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: And Nate Wiggins can't cover Jamar Chase forever. It's the
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: same damn script every freaking year with this team. Check
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: in for the first half and look like a competent team.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: The Super Bowl contender we all want. Then completely check
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: out in the second half with almost everyone on the
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: roster acting like they are Deja Love pretending to be
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: NFL players. And the worst part? There isn't any effort
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: to fix these mistakes at all. The only people to
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: even care are Lamar, Kyle Hamilton, and Nemanja Marubike. You
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: can hear the boos at M & T Bank Stadium.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: You can hear it from other Ravens fans. We are tired.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: of the same old shit. Because at the rate we
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: are playing, we are going to finish last in the
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: AFC North with a losing record to boot. All while
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: this has been the softest the organization has ever been.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Lamar can do everything he can to save the season. Hell,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: he's already been the best player in the league because
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: of all the problems within the Ravens organization that he masks.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Look at John Harbaugh, for example. But also, you need
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: to remember, this isn't a one-man team. We always die
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: in the second half. And the version of me that
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: was super happy when the miracle in Rio happened is
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: now completely gone. Replaced with a depressed supernova who will
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: more than likely never be happy with this team. even
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: if we win because of all the labels that keep
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: happening in the second half. Labels such as chokers, liabilities,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: and letdowns. I'm sick of it. I'm also sick of
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: what media groups like the Baltimore Sun and the like
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: are doing to paint the picture that Lamar's the soft one.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: I'd like it for you to try to play for
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: a high ankle sprain and then realize you shit-talked Lamar
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Jackson for absolutely no reason at all because he is
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: not the issue with the organization. It is a pure
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: personification of that even some of the fans are turning
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: their backs on arguably the best player the franchise has
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: ever had since Lewis and Reed. And for what? Just
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: to fill your entitled egos? I'm done with this rant.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: I wish to not speak any further on this team,
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: because I just checked out as they are. Pathetic, inexcusable, embarrassing,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: as that one Cowboys fan said, and sickening. I've about
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: had it all. Six years. Six years and this is
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: the norm? I don't care that this round was shorter
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: than Talon's. It had to be because all I have
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: is depressed and unhappy. What do we even do to
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: fix this team? Because it doesn't look like this team
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: remotely cares to be showing up in the second half whatsoever.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Fire Eric DaCosta. Let Jesse Minter build this team like
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: how man McDonald his.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: Well, that was fun.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Sorry about the bias. I couldn't hold back after what
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I just witnessed.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: Again, I mean... That was fun. I'll read Brandon's notes
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: about this and then I'll give my take on this.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Don't worry, neither of you are safe because you guys
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: have been doing the same thing. Don't act like you haven't.
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: I'm just going to preface this, Nova. This may be
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Brandon's ruffling the feathers segment here. No Lamar, Snoop throws
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: for 300 yards and only bags a single touchdown while
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: losing by 22. The Ravens are fine without Lamar. Okay.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: And he walked away. Okay. That was definitely a take.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: He is wrong and you know it, Brandon.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: Again, I'm sure he does. But.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: But yeah, no, here's what else he said, Nova. The
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: run game has disappeared for them entirely. I said at
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: the beginning of the season that the defense wasn't as
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: good as Nova thought it was under Minner, and this
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: is the one time I hate being right, but holy moly,
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: Iceboro came out slinging fire in the second half. I'll
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: just be honest, I don't think I've ever heard Joe
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Burrow called Iceboro. I thought it was Joe Burr. Um,
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: and he's It's almost like Minter said what Baltimore was
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: doing was good enough and then refused to make adjustments
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: while giving up nearly 150 yards to T. Higgins alone.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: But hey, at least Tyler Luke didn't miss.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: He was the least of the problems.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: The problem with T. Higgins was Marlon Humphrey. He should
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: be cut.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, again, you've been having your takes on Marlon Humphrey
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: and how bad he's been and how Andrew Wiggins has been. Oh,
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: my God.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: You're being disrespectful.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Or am I wrong about Andrew Wiggins?
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Nate!
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Nate Wiggins. Sorry, sorry. Andrew Wiggins, NBA, isn't he?
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Maybe it's a good thing Brandon's not here.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Yeah, probably.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Again, though. Again, the whole team died the second half.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: Everyone.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: And then, I mean, hell, we were talking about a
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: bad referee call. I'm surprised Brandon didn't bring that up.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: Or you didn't bring that up. How does Boye Mafi
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: get knocked down into... a defender into an offensive lineman,
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: and he gets penalized. What was it? I don't remember
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: what drive it was.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: It was in the first half. I remember it that much.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: Let me check. Because Boyan Mafia is on the Ravens, right?
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: Boyan Mafia is a bangle.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: Okay, then I'm looking at the wrong I was looking
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: at the wrong one. Field goal, let's see. Oh, yeah.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Justice Hill right end to Baltimore 20 for minus one yard.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: Penalty on Boye Mafe. Illegal low block. But he was
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: blocked into your offensive lineman. And he gets penalized for
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: illegal low block. And I'm like, what is going on
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: with these?
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: Like, look.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: I've been around football long enough. You've been announcing football
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: long enough that we know there's going to be holding
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: on pretty much every play. It's just a matter of
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: how much holding there is. I mean, that's a pretty
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: much a given. But yeah, I saw that. I had
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: to watch it like three or four times and I
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: still don't know how the hell he got penalized for that.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: He was pushed into. Your offensive lineman. How is him
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: losing his balance and getting pushed in a penalty on him?
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: And you wonder why we don't have reviews on penalties.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: They should. I did my master's degree. capstone paper on
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: NFL officiating six years ago I might add and I
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: called for the utilization of the sky judge back then
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: in 2020 I called for using a sky judge have
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: a referee in the boot if a flag is on
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: the field let them look at the replay first even
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: if the game gets a little extended on the broadcast
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: time If you get the call right there, then it's good. Now, again,
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: only use them when a flag is called. Don't have
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: them call a flag on the field. Don't have them
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: with an IFB in their ear to the head referee saying, hey,
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: there's a hold on 63 and you didn't throw a flag.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: You better throw a flag. Don't do that. Or like, hey,
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: There was obvious offensive pass interference here. Throw a flag. Like,
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: we don't need that. But if there's a flag on
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: the field that Sky Judge needs to be contacted, they
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: look it over, they verify it, you have that chain
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: of command, and you don't have to worry about the
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: idiots in the Art McNally studio at 345 Park Avenue.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Then you're going to remember the one time they tried
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: to re-preview penalties and barely even did anything.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Well, that's just because they were idiots. They had no
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: sense of how to work that, in my opinion. But, yeah, no.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: That's the only thing that got masked because of Baltimore's
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: second half drop-dead play.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, look, I feel for you, Nova. I
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: know you and Brandon felt for me. Well, Brandon a
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: little bit. uh, felt for me in that Carolina game with,
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: with that ramp. But I, I take it that the
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: therapy was worth it.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: It won't be because people are still going to hope
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: that here's the thing. Well, I need to reiterate this.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson is the best player in the scene. He's
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: masking our problems. The problems is like, again, I don't
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: have the Baltimore sun has been like reporting on people
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: turning their backs on Lamar. Like I don't get it.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: He's the best player since Ed Reed and Ray Lewis,
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: and you're saying he's the problem?
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: I don't get it. Look, the main thing that gets me,
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: and then we'll move on to the late window games. Again,
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: we talked about Lamar's injury. It was an ankle sprain,
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: but it was an unconventional ankle sprain because it's neither
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: a low ankle sprain nor a high ankle sprain, which
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: just means that it's an ankle sprain. But you have
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: the ankle sprain and therefore you can't practice and then
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: you come out and you say yeah i had a
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: high ankle sprain when you said that it was neither
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: a high ankle sprain nor a low ankle sprain and
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: it was an unconventional ankle sprain have i effectively confused
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: and wove this pretzel correctly, Nova?
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: I don't even know anymore. I'm not even sure if
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: I could have the same confidence. Everybody's reporting different things. Yeah,
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Lamar's going to have the answers. At least he serviced
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: the ball.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: Or you can just go the Caleb Williams route. You
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: guys misrepresented what my injury was, so now you'll never
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: know what my injury was.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: He's injury prone massively. And the fact that I'm still
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: going to play as the race team, because we labeled
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: Joe Burrow as an injury prone quarterback. And you don't
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: do the same thing with Lamar Jackson as a play.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: Like what is wrong with you people?
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: I will fight back on that claim. They labeled Michael
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: Penix injury prone.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Okay. I'll give you that one. Cause I think that one,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: I barely even see on social media. It's like, huh? Yeah.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: So I'll, I'll fight back on that one.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Um, my moral of the story is like we need
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: leadership we need some change and unless Eric Acosta could
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: make some changes I don't think he should be the
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: one leading the charge because you remember the Seahawks Mike
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: McDonald's first year he almost made the playoffs with the
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: old squad and he's like he redesigned the entirety of
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: the roster to fit his scheme and it worked that
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: he did if Jesse Minter can do the same after
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: this season I guarantee you we'll have different results.
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: And also I mean again not to sound salty about this,
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: but you guys really are Tua Tagovailoa, give me interception, which, again,
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: is still one of the stupidest throws I've ever seen
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: in the NFL.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: Mind you, I think the Tyler Huntley pick was a
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: tipped pass.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: Probably was, but, yeah, no, I can make the argument now, Nova, and, again,
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: you can disagree with this claim, But you guys really are.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: Tua Tagovailoa's stupid-ass interception that Kyle Hamilton was getting on
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: the sideline like a kid in a candy store. You
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: guys are that away from probably being winless since Lamar
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: got hurt.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the worst part because, again, Tyrell Huntley's a
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: backup for a reason. But all this does is prove
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: that Lamar Jackson is an incredible talent. That's all that's proven.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I would, I would agree with that, but you know,
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: who is apparently a, uh, top tier talent, even though
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: he is not playing the quarterback position well to the
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: point where, uh, former quarterbacks on broadcasts are complaining about it.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: Let's talk about Bo Nix.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: Ah, yes. The good old mobile quarterback, Bo Nix.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Yes. And, uh, Brandon wants to go first on this one.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: He said, Bo Nix rushing touchdown, which, by the way,
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: 62-yard rushing touchdown, I might add. What the hell, Arizona? Like,
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: you really let a 62-yard touchdown run happen to a quarterback?
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: As I said, they're SoFi merchants.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: He said, miracles do happen. Bo still being allergic to
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: throwing more than just simple checkdowns. Hell will freeze over first.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: And then he said, this game was the Trey McBride
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: show and my fantasy team thanks him for it. Cardinals suck.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: Trey McBride. Hashtag send tweet.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: I'm not saying he's wrong. I'm just saying that Arizona
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: remains so far stadium merchants.
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: I mean, not even just that Nova. The Cardinals have.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: And again, I am not trying to sound political here,
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: but it's just a funny ass coincidence. They host. that
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: Turning Point USA in their stadium, and they haven't won
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: a game since in Arizona.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Karma, am I right?
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: Evidently, it's karma. Yeah, no, I really don't have many
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: thoughts on this game. I mean... I mean, again, look,
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: Bo Nix accounted for 295 total yards of the Broncos.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: How many yards did they have total? They had 377.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: But when you factor in the set, okay, so they
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: had 373 total yards when you factor in the sacks.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: And then technically, if you want to count the penalties too,
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: like they were But then again, I mean, that's offense
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: and defense. You really can't add the penalty yardage against them. Yeah, no,
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: there's not much to say about this matchup. I know
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: I had my complaints about it when I saw the
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: broadcast map that I got this game instead of the
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: Cincinnati Baltimore game.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Be glad you didn't. Just be glad you didn't.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: Okay, we'll say that I'm glad I did.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: At the very least, this was Larry Fitzgerald's retirement day.
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: Oh, they ruined Larry Fitzgerald day. Yep, that sounds like
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: the Cardinals.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Oh, man. Also, I discovered that Jeremiah Love apparently is injured,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: so that would explain why Bam Knight had seven carries
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: for 48 yards.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: Okay, evidently Jeremiah Love is injured. I did not notice that.
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: But at least for Bo Nix, I'm sure Brandon would
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: want this. Oh, brother, this guy stinks!
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: And I think it's only going to get worse. I
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: think I heard J. Lo Waddle also got hurt.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: Did he get hurt?
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: I heard.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: His status is questionable. Due to a chest injury. Fantastic.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: So you lose another good weapon. That's not going to help.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: No, you, you don't, you lose a weapon. That's not good. Anyway,
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: we know what didn't help.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: The fact that the Rams went up 28 to three
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: under Raiders and survived.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? They went up 28 to three.
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: God damn it. When will these teams learn?
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: At least the Rams team did learn and they actually survived. But,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: you know, we always have the 28-3 scares. By the way,
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: what happened to the Raiders?
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: Oh, Brandon said Raiders walked into the season 3-0 and
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: now have lost four straight. But Kirk O'Janes is rightfully
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: so quarterback one because this is on that Raiders defense.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Yeah, the fact that everyone's trying to rush Fernando Mendoza
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: to the starting lineups a little too soon.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: I don't understand why. I get he's the number one
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: overall pick.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: He's not fixing the defense.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: He's not fixing the defense. And also, it's 2026. What
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: happens if Fernando Mendoza has a shitty game in his
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: first NFL start?
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: How?
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: Nova over under 10 points. major like content whether that
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: be get up first take the herd first things first
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: uh nightcap speakeasy richard sherman thursday night football uh mina
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: kimes show schrager's show like over under 10 of those
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: the first topic they're gonna have is fernando mendoza a bust.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: I guarantee you just slightly under.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Yeah, probably just slightly under. But at the same time, I.
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: Speaking of bust.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: People are already labeling Ashton Gentry as a bust.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: I am. Hello. Like I said to my brother, I
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: was like, what the hell is going on with Ashton Gentry?
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: He's nobody.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Like. you have receiving running back. That's not what he
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: was advertised as.
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: No, he was a running back. He was out through the,
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: he was like a straight line running back who could
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: occasionally take an outside zone.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: But all he is in the Raiders is receiving back. Yeah.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: And then of course the Brock Bowers show, cause you know,
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: six for 73 trade Tucker five for one Oh three
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: and a touchdown. Uh, Yeah, no, I mean, I don't
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: buy that we need to see Fernando Mendoza anytime soon.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: And to that point, where's Fernando Mendoza? That says A.J.
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: Cole. That's the punter.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: The punter!
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: On a fake punt, by the way.
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: The punter had a pass. Now again, like Rich Eisen says,
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: punters are people too. But yeah, no. This is just bad.
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: And again, to play into our VGC experience, Nova, have
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: you ever been in a tournament like online or IRL
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: where you had seven rounds and you started 3-0 and
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: now you're 3-4 and you're like, what the hell just happened?
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: Oh, I guess that's what just happened. The Brewers just
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: tied the game.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: Oh, okay. The Brewers just tied the game.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: But yeah, speaking of this, I've never had a seven
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: round tournament go that way, but I have gone in
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: tournaments where I was like, I won my first three.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: Then I go into top cut on a losing streak
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: and never recovered. Yeah. Um, You know who has recovered, though?
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: The Rams. Matthew Stafford, three touchdowns on the day. He
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: actually becomes the Rams franchise leading touchdown passer.
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. By the way, Brandon, breaking news. The Rams
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: are still frauds.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think we need the Raiders just changing
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: that label.
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: Probably not.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: What else happened? Kyra Williams with a touchdown. Oh, Davis Allen,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: two touchdowns. Who had him doing that?
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Uh... Not me.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: Usually you see that from the captain Tyler Higbee or
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: Colby Parkinson, never from Davis Allen. And you don't want
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: to know something else as well. The revolving room of
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: kickers for the Rams. Now it's Brandon McManus.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: It is Brandon McManus now, but it just goes to
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: show you that sometimes the, the, the kicker give it,
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: then the kicker take it away.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: Puka way reception, 68 yards and a touchdown. Yeah. I
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: didn't think the Rams would win this game, but there's
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: always merit to a get-right game for the Rams. But
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: you want to talk about something that didn't go right?
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: How about the officiating in the Lions-Packers game?
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: Oh my goodness. Oh, this was atrocious.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: It got so bad that Tom Brady, publicly on that broadcast,
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: called out the refs. Or at least not directly, he
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: called out the call.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because, I mean, if he actively called out the refs,
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: then I'm pretty sure as a partial owner of the
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: Vegas Raiders, he would be subject to fines from the NFL.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: Yeah, what the hell happened to this game? Also, I
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: think even despite the ref ball, the Packers beat themselves.
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: I would agree with that. I'd probably co-sign. on that one, because,
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: I mean, you have multiple drops. They lead the league
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: in drops with 18.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I've been talking about this last week, too.
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: Their kicker missed two field goals from inside of 35 yards.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: Trey, smack it to the right.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: And technically, the second one was smacked to the right.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: All while Josh Jacobs finally came back off the commissioner's list,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: and he did kind of nothing.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but he did have a touchdown.
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: Um as a receiver yeah and then aman raw had
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: nine for 153 but no touchdowns uh yeah again.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: Green bay lost this game by three points and they
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: missed two field goals so you can make the argument
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: they should have won by three points uh And this
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: game makes Brandon question whether he actually knows anything about
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: football or not because, holy shit, Green Bay is fixing
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: to trade for a kicker at this point. This is
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: a joke.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: Do you think they're still fishing for Jonathan Taylor?
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: I don't know about Jonathan Taylor, truthfully, but.
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: Also, who had their lion's deepest pile showing up for once?
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: Because I didn't.
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: Honestly, I didn't either. And all I can say about this,
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: and again, look, it's been hammered to shit about this.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: You let it in, Nova, but let's talk about it.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: My God, were those ref calls horrible. The roughing the
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: passers were stupid. The intentional grounding was moronic. The unnecessary roughness.
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: The guy was catching the ball. He dropped the ball.
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: He turned around. He gets hit. Like, oh, my God.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: Think of the defenseless receivers. Man, these people today. Again,
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: remember how I did that rant about Atlanta with the
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: throwback logo?
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: We have another one here. Because, again, remember.
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: All I'm going to say. You have his jersey hanging
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: in the back of your camera. You really think they
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: were going to throw an unnecessary– oh, wait, my bad.
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: That's Terrell Suggs. I keep forgetting Ray Lewis is 52.
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: But same principle. You really think throwing over the middle
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: of the field with either Terrell Suggs or Ray Lewis
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: in the middle of the field? Nova, would that be
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: a smart idea?
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: No.
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: No, because they'd take your fucking head off. Like, this
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: was bad. It was all-time bad.
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: Again, so bad to the fact that Tom Brady had
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: to call out one of the penalties.
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: It got so bad that the freaking Lions on that
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: last drive where they got the game-winning field goal, did
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: you see that people were actually going out there and
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: they were, like, playing the freaking Peanuts Christmas song on there?
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: I actually didn't.
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: Oh, my God, it was hilarious. They were literally doing the, like,
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: all of them were, like, some of them were, like,
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: you know, dancing because, you know, they get the first down.
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: And then you see Jameer Giz, he's just toe-tapping while, like, he's, like, toe-tapping,
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: walking in place. And next thing you know, like, people
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: are just posting it out there where it's, like, the
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: Charlie Brown Christmas thing. I'm going to send it in
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: our personal Discord call so that way I... I can
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: show it to you. Charlie Brown Lions. This one will
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: be easy enough to find it.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: But yeah, with this win, the Lions are suddenly back
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: in the NFC North race.
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: They are suddenly back in the NFC North race. And again,
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: all the teams in the NFC North, I mean, they
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: all have winning records. So take with that what you will.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: Yeah, except the only problem is that the Bears have
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: the 0-2 record on the division.
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, the Bears still own this division. The Vikings are
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: still around. And yeah, now we move on to the
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: Sunday night football game.
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: Why was this the game the dark side defense finally
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: shows up?
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: Okay, so Brandon's notes. I'm just going, let me try
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: and break out a country accent for this one. Fuck you,
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: my home. Mid-ass quarterback and Seattle proved it. Can you
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: tell he hates Mahomes anymore?
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: Dude, we've been 14 episodes in. He's made it clear.
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: Yes, he's made it clear. No air game, no rushing
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: game for Kansas City. Seattle defense finally remembered how to
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: play football, and I've never been so thankful for it.
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: JSN did JSN things. You know he's got 200 more
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: receiving yards than the next closest player?
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: I see a difference of 106. I saw it.
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: Was like.
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: I was on the scoreboard. I'm not sure what his
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: context is.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: Yeah. And he said... If he's referring.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: To the Seahawks roster, then yeah, I'd probably be convinced.
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: No. Hold on. Let me pull up... He's got 867
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: receiving yards. And when it comes to wide receiver, I,
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: I know it's, uh, yeah, he's got two, he's got
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: 216 more receiving yards than the next closest, which is
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: CD land.
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: Oh, Hey, Chris, a lot of Drake London and say
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: flowers are all on the top five.
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: Yeah. But a lot of, they still, still not better
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: than Drake London.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: You are never going to let that go. Are you?
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: I am never going to let that go. I'm never
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: going to let that go.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: But you know who else is not going to let go?
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: Kenneth Walker not getting the revenge dagger. He was held
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: to 36 yards.
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: Just goes to show you that when your former coach
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: knows how you run and knows your tendencies, it's pretty
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: easy to stop you.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: It's also pretty easy to stop you when you actually
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: have a defense that you can design. I'm looking at you,
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: Eric DaCosta.
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and then also, I mean, look at Sam Darnold.
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: No sacks in this game.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: He had the horrid pick in the end zone, but
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: he made up for it because Harrison Bucker, have yourself
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: a day. You missed two field goals, including a 59-yarder
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: that went short. Yeah.
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: Look, irrelevant of the Harrison Bucker missed kick, and I'll
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: read Brandon's notes about that. The fuck was that throw,
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: Sam Darnold? What, were you seeing ghosts again? Yeah. back
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: in New York?
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: I think we've been saying that for the past four
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: weeks of Sam Darnold.
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: Well, that was a horrible throw. Throw the ball away
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: at that point. you have your two guys and also
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: that was another stupid play design how did Rashid Shahid
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: and JSM both end up in the same place at
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: the same time where they both run into each.
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: Other who's the who's the OC for the Seahawks no
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: I forget um.
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: Who is uh would it be I think I go
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: to the roster right then you can Now that's practice squad.
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: That's injured reserve.
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: We might need to Google this one, but yeah, 20
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: to three to final dark side defense shows up. Seattle
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: shows up, but again, we still have the concerns for
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: Brian Flory.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: Brian Flory. That's his name.
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: He's feeling the pressure that Kevin Patula did in Philadelphia. Like,
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: I don't think he's doing as bad as Patula, but like,
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: It's up there.
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and then the final note, because you brought it
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: up with Harrison Butker, Nova. Brandon thinks Kansas City also
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: needs a new kicker at this point because he's manifested
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: hatred on himself, and it shows because now he sucks
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: at kicking a ball.
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: Just like he who shall not be named.
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: Just like he who shall not be named. But let's
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: end week seven by talking about the Cowboys, and Nova
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: take it away on this one.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: Where did the Eagles defense go? That's the only thing
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: I'll say. Where did they go? They also pulled out
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: the Dajon Love thing, where it's like they pretended to
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: be an NFL defense.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know where they went. Um.
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: Granted, I think their injury room is still pretty up
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: there in the defensive side. I don't think they had
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: Jordan Davis. But how do you let Javante Williams get
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: up where 150 yards rushing?
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: Big holes.
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: Just like how Jerry Jones said what holes he likes?
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit.
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: If you know, you know.
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: Dak Preston, I gotta say, Dak Preston had a pedestrian game,
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: 2-12 with three touchdowns on 15 completions. Including the toe
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: drag snag to George Pickens. Not sure if you saw that.
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely saw that one to Pickens. That was impressive.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: And then.
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: I mean, Brandon's notes were this was definitely not a
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: Philly disappointment game. They're in a rebuild now, especially after
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: the loss of Jalen Hurts.
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: I said that before, and I'll say it again. Tanner
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: McKee is not the same quarterback as Jalen Hurts, but
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: he was serviceable up until that DeVarion overshadowed interception. Like,
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: he just jumped the route.
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: In all fairness, I agree with that because I had
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: to watch that play like three or four times. And
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: I don't know what Tanner McKee was doing on that throw.
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: Cause it was absolutely horrible decision to overshown was in
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: front of him the whole time. You don't throw a
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: speed out when the defender is in front of your receiver.
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: He is lucky. That wasn't returned.
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I also think I had informed from a couple
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: of my colleagues, uh, Tanner McKee used to be at
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: Corona centennial. So, uh, There's my, there's my local product.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: Shout out, shout out there. Yeah.
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: Um, and then I guess the final note about this game, uh,
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: Brandon said, maybe this is what gives the cow girls
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: a spark back in their step until they play the
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: Niners in three weeks, because they have a bit of
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: a break with Arizona and Indy coming up.
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: I would not just like what Brandon said with the
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: text and the stock, not buying it. I wouldn't buy
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: it yet until we absolutely know for sure, because, uh,
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: You never know what kind of Dallas thing you get
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: every week.
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: I mean, all we got to do is listen to
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: Jared Jones.
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: Talk about all them holes.
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: Yep. Talk about all them holes. But before we talk
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: about our week eight predictions, Nova, let me just take this.
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: And why is this? There we go. We have the
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: Barstool Big Cat Week 7 Power Rankings.
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: And rightfully so. The best team is at the top.
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: Yes. And the tag will use their deep ends to
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: skull fuck you and question your existence.
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: Like when they did to Chicago, for example.
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: Then we have Super Bowl contenders, the Niners, the Jags,
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: the Bills, the Bears, the Seahawks, the Broncos, the Pats,
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: and the Lions.
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: I hold my breath on Detroit, personally speaking.
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: I hold my breath on New England.
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: Oh, you better be happy Brandon's not here.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: I'm sure he would agree with me, and then he'd
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: be like, I'm holding my breath on Denver.
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: Surely.
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: It was only one loss, but is everything okay? The
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: Kansas City Chiefs.
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree with that. But the question more
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: so is like, was that just Seattle's defense doing a
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: good camping job? Or is it a cost for them?
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: Because they have a very important game next week.
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: They definitely do. Next one. Second best division in football
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: led by where the Cleveland Browns. I know you are.
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: Again, this is an indictment on the division. It's not
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: just the Ravens. It's also the fault of the Steelers
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: and the Bengals.
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: Yep, very true. Lurking, the LA Rams.
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: Actually, that makes sense. They're lurking. You never know what
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: you get out of them.
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: On this computer says there were some questionable flags on Sunday.
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: Where's the lie?
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: Looking, looking, yeah I don't see any lives detected.
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: Because I do.
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: Next up 18 artists formerly known as nine McCarthy and
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: the Giants yep next up lurking because the NFC sucks
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: I mean he's not I mean the computer's not wrong I.
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: Mean the same thing with the Rams like you gotta
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: know what you're getting from the Cowboys in order to
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: really think of them as good.
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: Next up, Fun and Frisky. I mean, not wrong.
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: Who is that?
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it's some team. I mean, it's a bird logo,
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: so it'll be interesting.
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: Yeah, for those of you who are at home and
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: says you don't have the screen in front of you,
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: he's referring to you. Atlanta Falcons is Fun and Frisky.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Next on the list.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: Oh, we went up for some reason.
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: Went up for some reason. Fun and frisky sometimes. The
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: Carolina Panthers.
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: That sometimes is doing heavy lifting.
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: Going to win the NFC South. Just watch.
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: Watch this be the reason Todd Bull saves the Tampa
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: Bay job.
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: And watch the Bucs fans erupt in the streets.
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: Both good and bad.
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: Next, might be time to just admit they suck, the Texans.
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: I got to say it again. I think a lot
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: of it's not even CJ Stroud's fault.
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: I mean, they're on a bye this week, so we
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: don't have to worry about watching them. Next up, still
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: life's greatest mysteries. Is Bo Nix good?
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: Where's Amelia Earhart? Who shot JFK? Where is the G spot?
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: And airplanes.
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: Why? I never understood why the planes are there. Like,
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: were there accidents with them?
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: Something like that. I think there's one that, oh, there's
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: an exploded plane. Next up. Fired.
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn and Shane Steichen.
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: Or is that, or is that Chris Ballard? Oh, wait, no, no, no.
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: That's not Chris Ballard.
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah. So Colton jets with their head coaches next
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: season from hell, the Eagles and the OKC thunder.
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: For context, Jalen Williams, a friend of Oklahoma city thunder
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: had a devastating injury against the LA Clippers.
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: That was, that was so bad that, That was horrible,
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: that injury.
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: Granted, I think they'll be fine because Shea Gilchrist-Alexander is
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: an MVP-level talent, but that's a brutal loss of half
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: of the Thunder.
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: Isn't he a rookie, too?
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: No, Jalen Williams has been around for, I think, five
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: years now.
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: Shows my NBA skills. history and knowledge.
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: Next.
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: Fuck Michael Bidwell. Hashtag Bidwell out. Well, I mean, Brandon
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: had a hashtag send tweet. There's a, there's a tweet.
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: That's the Cardinals owner. Yes.
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: Next, what a football game. Fuck yes, the Miami Dolphins.
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: All right, Nova's happy about that. Next, why are we
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: game at a great time? Because they're not very good,
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: the Washington Commanders.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: I swear to you, if they somehow win Sunday Night Football,
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: we might have discussions again.
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: Yeah, we might have discussions again. Next, the obligatory cannons.
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: Oh, we got this out.
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: Next.
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: Bad.
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: The Saints and the Raiders. I agree with this one.
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: No bias there, right, Nova?
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: I think there is.
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: What gave it away?
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: The fact that you said the Saints. Yep.
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: Next. They've gone from dog shit to just bad. Bids
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: except in the rebuild. The Tennessee Titans.
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: Hey, that's always an important step of a rebuild. You
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: got to know where you're good and you got to
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: know where you're bad.
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: This is very true. And last, the NFL was a
- 1:49:46Speaker 2: better place without him playing football on Sunday. The Los
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: Angeles Chargers.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: At some point, you got to add a Justin Herbert
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: picture to that frame.
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to add a Justin Herbert.
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: I still stand by saying that the Chargers is the
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: worst team in the league.
- 1:50:08Speaker 2: Again, you can make an argument for either side, and
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: I probably wouldn't disagree with either of you. But let's
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: start talking about week eight with the predictions. Now, I
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: have Brandon's picks all written on the page, but I
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: will mention who he picked. And also in the picks...
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: Brandon is 56-50-1. Nova, you are 60-46-1. And I am 64-42-1.
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: And what was the week six, seven, what was the
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: week seven score for the predictions?
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: Did I count those? I mean, I know the Philly
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: game had me win. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Uh,
- 1:51:01Speaker 2: I really went, I think it was a 15 games
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: last week or four, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11.
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: I went, I went 50% in week seven. Yep. Hey, man,
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: that would have been the perfect time to have a,
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: a slot sound on the soundboard.
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: Damn.
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: Didn't even think about that. But let's start Thursday night football.
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: Carolina Panthers at the Green Bay Packers.
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: And a reminder to all of you at home, the
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: Packers lost to this team last year at Lambeau Field
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: as double-digit favorites.
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: And now they're only three-and-a-half-point favorites.
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: The question I have is what Panthers team is going
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: to show up?
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: At this point, I'm starting to question it, too. And
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: I'm going to take Green Bay. I'm going to take
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: the Holton team.
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: See, the reason I'm thinking about this isn't that I
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: don't think it's an obvious pick, but it's more so, again,
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: which Packers team, which, no, excuse me, which Panthers team
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: shows up?
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I know it's going to be tough. Like,
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: if the Panthers team that showed up, even though they
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: lost by 22 to the Bears, but then came out
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: and won by 31 against.
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: Atlanta shows up. That team can beat anybody.
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: I'm going to say that Packers win, but I imagine
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: this is going to be close.
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: I can see it being close. Next up.
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: What was Brandon's pick?
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: He picked Green Bay.
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: Next up, my Atlanta Falcons at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: Here we go with another divisional game that we might
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: not have an idea of who wins because divisional rivals
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: hate each other and for some reason play differently.
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: Can I fight back on the notion that the Bucks
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: are a division rival?
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: They're both in the NFC South.
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: But they ain't a division rival. They're a division rival,
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: but they're not a division rival.
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: In what sense?
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: The Falcons' win percentage over the Bucks, I think, is
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: like Like, hold on. Falcons win.
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: Didn't they lose to them at Raymond Chase Stadium last
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: year at Thursday Night Football?
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: No.
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: Because I remember that.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: No, last year that was.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: Oh, it was the other way around. That was the.
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: Third and 28 game. And also, I'm looking at it.
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: The Falcons. Okay. Actually, maybe it is a little bit
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: closer than I remembered. They played 65 times. The Falcons
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: lead the series 33 to 32.
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: Jeez. I'm picking Atlanta, though. I'm picking Atlanta to barely
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: come out on the win.
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: I am also riding with my Falcons in this game.
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: And Brandon is also riding with Atlanta. Next up, Baltimore
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: at Buffalo.
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: You want to know something?
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: What is that?
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: Every time one of us had a rant on our team,
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: they immediately win the next week. It happened with the
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: Falcons against the Packers. It happened with the Patriots against Buffalo.
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: Does it happen again with the Ravens and the Bills? Jesus.
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: That'd be pretty fun if it did. I didn't even
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: catch up on that.
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: Yeah, you ranted about the Falcons. They beat the Packers.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: Brandon ranted about the Patriots. They beat the Bills. Interesting.
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: I didn't even think of, I didn't even catch that.
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: Because seriously, I want to pick the Ravens so bad,
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: but if they're going to die in the second half
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: like every other time, I have no faith.
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: Well, I mean, but also I think Lamar returned to
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: the practice field.
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: He was in practice last week and he still wasn't
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: able to play.
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: I mean, give it one extra week and then, you know,
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: you show up for this game. And I think you're
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: going to have Jim Nance and JJ Watt on the
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: call for this one.
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: That's if they don't have a 425 window on CBS.
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: We can actually check that right now.
- 1:55:21Speaker 2: I have it up right now. You're getting Ian Eagle
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: and Ross Tucker.
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: Okay. Can we check the 425 window and see what
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: network is it on? Okay. So it's a CBS doubleheader. Gotcha.
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: Yep. Look.
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: You know what? I'm going to call it. I'm going
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: to call the rant curse. I'm going to kick Baltimore
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: to win on a last second field goal.
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: All right, Nova's riding with Baltimore. Brandon's riding with Buffalo. And.
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: Because remember, the Buffalo Bills defense is not good.
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: No, the Buffalo Bills defense is not good.
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: So if Lamar Jackson plays, this is going to be
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: a shootout.
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: That's my thing. The fact that I don't know if
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: Lamar is playing is why I'm going to take Buffalo
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: in this game. But if Lamar was playing, I probably
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: would have picked Baltimore. And, again, I already used my asterisk,
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: so I can't use a second one. That is the rule.
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: You get the one asterisk and use it wisely.
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: Yeah, which is why I'm not using it in this game.
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: I don't blame you for using it in this game.
- 1:56:45Speaker 2: Next up, Tennessee at Cincinnati. Well, I think we're all
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: picking Cincinnati.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: Well, as long as it's not a random track game
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: for the Bengals, yes.
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Brandon's got Cincinnati. Next up, Arizona at Dallas.
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: I need to put on a better reminder. The last season,
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: the Cardinals beat the Cowboys.
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: In Dallas on Monday Night Football. I remember that game
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: because my brother and I were flying home from Boston
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: that Monday night, and we saw the block punt. And
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: didn't the Cardinals, or was it the Cowboys? I think
- 1:57:27Speaker 2: it was a Cowboys player, right? Didn't he pass away
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: like two days after this game?
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: Yeah, he did. It was a Cowboys player.
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: Give me Dallas on this one. At least I have
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: a quarterback.
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: See, my thing is like, does it happen again? Because
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: history doesn't repeat itself a lot.
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: And also, I'm just throwing this out here. This history
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: doesn't repeat itself a lot in Dallas. $ 27.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: I imagine those are the seats that we were talking
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: about two weeks ago.
- 1:58:02Speaker 2: Probably something like that.
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: I'm going to bet the Cowboys to win, but I
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: swear to God, if history repeats itself, we're not going
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: to hear the end of you.
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: Probably not, and we're probably not going to hear the
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: end of it with Brandon either because, you know, he
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: picked Dallas for two consecutive weeks. He picked the Cowboys.
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: This is a show, again, I think the Cardinals are
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: just SoFi merchants, but at the same time, what are
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: the odds history repeats itself that the Cardinals beat the
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: Cowboys at AT & T Stadium again?
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: Probably low in this case next up minnesota at detroit
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: oh that's that's a game and also look at it
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: minnesota is three and oh on the road i mean
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: yes they're undefeated so naturally they're gonna be undefeated on
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: the road but the lions are undefeated at home so
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: something's gotta.
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: Give and the thing is gonna give is It's the
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: Lions offense. I think Brian Flores bullies him to a
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: Viking 7-0.
- 1:59:01Speaker 2: I'm going to ride with that defense too. Next up.
- 1:59:06Speaker 1: What did Brandon pick? The Lions?
- 1:59:08Speaker 2: No, he picked Minnesota.
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: Next up, Las Vegas at the Jets. Brandon picked the Raiders.
- 1:59:17Speaker 1: I do too. This is their get right game.
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm taking the Raiders in this one. Next up,
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: Cleveland at Pittsburgh. This is a game.
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: That Pittsburgh wins.
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: Brandon said Pittsburgh wins because of some home field magic.
- 1:59:39Speaker 1: I'll have you know, I think the Browns home road
- 1:59:41Speaker 1: record at Accrister Stadium is very low.
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: Let's see. Browns record in Pittsburgh.
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: Because I know it's super low.
- 1:59:58Speaker 2: The Cleveland Browns... Well, this... Okay, let's factor... Okay, I can't...
- 2:00:06Speaker 2: I think the.
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: Last time the Browns beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh was that
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: playoff game.
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: Let's see. The Browns are actually on a five-game losing
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: streak in Pittsburgh. And yeah, actually... The last time they
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: won in Pittsburgh, Nova, was my seventh birthday in 2003.
- 2:00:34Speaker 2: In the regular season?
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: Oh, God, that's actually disturbing.
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: Give me Pittsburgh after that, after reading that.
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: Yeah, if your own win was in the playoffs, there's
- 2:00:46Speaker 1: something wrong.
- 2:00:49Speaker 2: Yeah. You said you're picking Pittsburgh? Yes, I am.
- 2:00:52Speaker 1: Because again, the Browns never really... The Browns do bad
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: at Akershire if it wasn't for that playoff game.
- 2:01:02Speaker 2: Yeah, man. I'm even looking at the history of it.
- 2:01:06Speaker 2: So the Browns won the first four times... Actually, no.
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: They won eight of the first nine times they played
- 2:01:15Speaker 2: in Pittsburgh and actually went 8-2 in the.
- 2:01:21Speaker 3: 1950s.
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: Then went... Let's see, that's 69. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
- 2:01:31Speaker 2: 7-3 in the 1960s.
- 2:01:40Speaker 2: Four wins between 1986 and 1989.
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: Losses again from 1990 to 1995. And actually one of
- 2:01:53Speaker 2: them was a playoff game. January 7th of 95 and
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: then November 13th of 95. Then the three years that
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: the Browns became the Ravens and they didn't have a team.
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: And they've only won in Pittsburgh three times since becoming
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: the new Cleveland Browns.
- 2:02:15Speaker 1: And is that including that playoff win?
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: That is including that playoff win.
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: Well, the more you know.
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: Yeah, this one screams Pittsburgh. Next!
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: Oh, give me the Jaguars for this one. This is
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: no brainer.
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Colts and Jags. It's an easy Jacksonville pick.
- 2:02:35Speaker 1: And this is even because the Colts suck. The Colts
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: have not won in Jacksonville since 2014.
- 2:02:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and they also just started a fire sale, so...
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: Do we really think they're going to beat the Jaguar?
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: I can see him covering that spread. I can see
- 2:02:51Speaker 2: it being a backdoor cover. You know what I said.
- 2:02:53Speaker 2: Spreads reaching closer to double digits. It is super easy
- 2:02:59Speaker 2: to cover those.
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: Yes, it is. All right. Next. The battle for LA.
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: The Rams.
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: Rams.
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: You really wanted me to pick the worst team in football?
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: You're never going to see me do that. I'm picking
- 2:03:16Speaker 1: the Rams. It's their house. It's not the Chargers' house. Yeah.
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: What did Brendan pick?
- 2:03:24Speaker 2: He picked the Rams. Next up, Kansas City at Denver.
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: This is why I said this is the most important
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: game for the Chiefs.
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: So you're picking Kansas City?
- 2:03:34Speaker 1: I'm picking Denver. Denver.
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: Okay, you and I are in agreement. Brandon is lone
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: wolfing it this week. He is riding with Mahomes.
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: And that should tell you he does not trust Bo Nix.
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not trusting Bo Nix either, but I'm
- 2:03:49Speaker 2: not trusting that Chiefs defense.
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: I'm trusting this Bronco defense to clamp Mahomes.
- 2:03:54Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. Like, I don't trust the Chiefs defense.
- 2:03:59Speaker 2: Next up, New England at Miami. Brandon has his Patriots,
- 2:04:03Speaker 2: and so do I.
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: But does it happen again?
- 2:04:08Speaker 2: I don't think so. I really don't. Not the way.
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: I think New England will win, but I swear to God,
- 2:04:16Speaker 1: if this is the start of the Dolphins' win streak,
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: we might have problems.
- 2:04:20Speaker 2: True. The Sunday night game, Philadelphia.
- 2:04:24Speaker 1: Which was never flexed.
- 2:04:26Speaker 2: Which was never flexed, despite having a Chiefs-Broncos game, which, again,
- 2:04:30Speaker 2: if you put Jim Nance and J.J. Watt, if a
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: team or a broadcast company is giving you their A-team,
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: that's telling you right then and there, we are not
- 2:04:44Speaker 2: letting you flex this game, NFL. Kick rock.
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: For some reason, the Eagles do not do good at
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: Washington for some reason, but I do think they... Actually, yeah,
- 2:04:56Speaker 1: I'm going to do it. I'm going to pick the
- 2:04:57Speaker 1: Commanders to win. I trust Jaden Daniels more than I
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: trust Tanner McKee.
- 2:05:01Speaker 2: Same. Same. And Brandon also picked Washington. And then the
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: Monday night game.
- 2:05:08Speaker 1: Oh, this is the game of the week.
- 2:05:10Speaker 2: This is the game of the week. Bears-Seahawks. Brandon's got Seattle,
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: so he's riding with the home team.
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: I'm riding Seattle, too. As much as I think Caleb
- 2:05:23Speaker 1: Williams is a talent, if there's any way I can
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: stop him, it's Mike McDonald.
- 2:05:28Speaker 2: Well, you know what? I'm riding with Caleb Williams. I'm
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: riding with Chicago. I have a lone wolf that week,
- 2:05:37Speaker 2: and that just showcases that we differed on Baltimore Buffalo,
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: Kansas City Denver, And Chicago, Seattle. So we shall see
- 2:05:52Speaker 2: how week eight fares, ladies and gentlemen. But that is
- 2:05:57Speaker 2: going to end episode 14 of the Ruffling the Feathers podcast. Again,
- 2:06:02Speaker 2: we missed Brandon tonight. We really did. But he was
- 2:06:05Speaker 2: here with us.
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: For better or for worse.
- 2:06:07Speaker 2: For better or for worse, we missed Brandon. He will
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: be back during our next recording session. And honestly, I
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: look forward to seeing how week eight is going to
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: go because, again, there is some crazy shenanigans that could
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: be going on in the NFL this week. It's a
- 2:06:29Speaker 2: good thing none of us are Cowboys fans, though, because
- 2:06:32Speaker 2: I'm sure we'd have another rant if one of us
- 2:06:34Speaker 2: was a Cowboys fan and they lost to Arizona.
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: Again.
- 2:06:39Speaker 2: Again.
- 2:06:42Speaker 1: But also, here's the bigger question to ask. Will the
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: rant curse continue? Uh, maybe. If it does, we actually
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: might have a serious discussion about our rants being superpowers.
- 2:06:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I would agree with that. But ladies and gentlemen,
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: that is going to end it for us today. You
- 2:07:04Speaker 2: can find us wherever you get your podcasts from. Go
