3:32
SPEAKER_10: You know, it's like, where are you, Jesus?
3:34
SPEAKER_10: Right.
3:35
SPEAKER_10: Why why haven't you come and taken us away?
3:37
SPEAKER_10: Right.
3:38
SPEAKER_10: You know?

3:45
SPEAKER_08: So that's the name of the podcast, Caffeine and Hate.
3:47
SPEAKER_08: Caffeine and Hate.
3:48
SPEAKER_08: Caffeine and Hate.
3:49
SPEAKER_08: You think we'll get any clicks on that?
3:51
SPEAKER_08: I hope so.
3:53
SPEAKER_10: Uh I gotta find out what's going on here.
3:57
SPEAKER_10: So, yeah, I haven't been sleeping well, so I'm living on a lot of caffeine, so yeah.
4:01
SPEAKER_08: Well, uh, speaking of uh that, speaking of uh influencers and and whatnot, so my son sends me a video that he made.
4:13
SPEAKER_10: Which son are we talking about?
4:15
SPEAKER_10: Finn.
4:15
SPEAKER_10: Okay.
4:16
SPEAKER_08: So he's you know, he he has his own business and he works a lot all the time.
4:20
SPEAKER_08: And he was really proud of uh he he said, Look at uh what my girlfriend made me for lunch.
4:27
SPEAKER_08: So she she it's like meal prep.
4:29
SPEAKER_08: Oh so she he showed and I was like, that's pretty cool.
4:31
SPEAKER_08: You got you got a good one there.
4:33
SPEAKER_08: So yeah.
4:34
SPEAKER_08: And then he sends me a video that he made at lunchtime.
4:40
SPEAKER_08: And he's telling me he wasn't videoing himself eating.
4:43
SPEAKER_08: He was showing off what his girlfriend made him for l for lunch.
4:48
SPEAKER_08: Okay, and then he ate it.
4:51
SPEAKER_08: He videoed himself eating it.
4:53
SPEAKER_08: Oh goodness.
4:54
SPEAKER_08: And I said, You don't have TikTok, do you?
4:57
SPEAKER_08: He's like, No.
4:58
SPEAKER_08: It's on YouTube.
5:01
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
5:02
SPEAKER_08: Because keep in mind, when he's home, all he does is watch his guys on YouTube.
5:10
SPEAKER_08: Now, one of the reasons that Finn has a successful business right now is because he watches his guys.
5:17
SPEAKER_08: Oh, that's fine.
5:18
SPEAKER_08: But they're influencers.
5:20
SPEAKER_08: They're they they're business owners, right?
5:23
SPEAKER_08: And they film their day-to-day operations.
5:26
SPEAKER_08: And that's where he learns a lot of stuff.
5:28
SPEAKER_10: Well, that's fine, but I don't need to watch you frickin' eat.
5:31
SPEAKER_10: I know.
5:32
SPEAKER_10: So that's a private thing, man.
5:34
SPEAKER_08: What did I say?
5:35
SPEAKER_08: I said what did I I said I think I said something like, um I'll tell you exactly what I said.
5:42
SPEAKER_08: I'm not gonna show you the video because I don't think you want to see it.
5:45
SPEAKER_10: I have no interest in saying it, sorry.
5:47
SPEAKER_10: Uh I love Finn, but I have no interest in watching that boy eat.
5:52
SPEAKER_08: So I said, Do you have TikTok?
5:53
SPEAKER_08: He said, No, I deleted it anyway.
5:55
SPEAKER_08: It's on YouTube.
5:56
SPEAKER_08: I said, What is the purpose of the video?
5:58
SPEAKER_08: Just funny.
6:00
SPEAKER_08: And I was like, okay.
6:03
SPEAKER_10: We have very different very different definitions of funny.
6:07
SPEAKER_08: But I I I I understand your ire for this culture.
6:13
SPEAKER_08: I mean, it's all me.
6:15
SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
6:15
SPEAKER_10: They I mean I don't even I don't even like calling it culture anymore because you know, culture, you know.
6:21
SPEAKER_08: It's a lack of culture.
6:22
SPEAKER_10: Well, it's a it's uh, you know, culture denotes that there's something good.
6:29
SPEAKER_08: Right.
6:29
SPEAKER_10: You know what I mean?
6:31
SPEAKER_08: And well here's the that's not good.
6:34
SPEAKER_08: Here's here's the thing.
6:35
SPEAKER_08: We have we have people that we know that um do that kind of thing um because it serves a purpose.
6:47
SPEAKER_08: It's sad that it serves a purpose, and here's what I mean.
6:50
SPEAKER_08: Um I saw a thing the other day, uh there was a country singer who was um up and coming.
7:01
SPEAKER_08: Uh I knew I knew his name.
7:04
SPEAKER_08: I mean I knew so that's how up and coming he was.
7:06
SPEAKER_08: He's he's he's in the the the what do you call it?
7:12
SPEAKER_08: Echelon.
7:14
SPEAKER_08: Not upper middle echelon, right?
7:17
SPEAKER_08: Right.
7:17
SPEAKER_08: And so he's up and coming.
7:19
SPEAKER_08: And he said, listen, is this written to his fans on Instagram?
7:25
SPEAKER_08: He said, I'm done.
7:28
SPEAKER_08: He said you have to keep up with Instagram, TikTok.
7:38
SPEAKER_08: Uh you have to get clicks.
7:40
SPEAKER_08: That's how people get record deals, by the way.
7:42
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, clicks.
7:43
SPEAKER_08: The amount of clicks.
7:44
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
7:44
SPEAKER_08: It's not talent.
7:45
SPEAKER_08: It's not talent, it's just clicks.
7:47
SPEAKER_08: Right.
7:47
SPEAKER_08: And this guy was like, I I'm not chasing that anymore.
7:53
SPEAKER_08: I wouldn't either.
7:53
SPEAKER_08: I don't want to.
7:53
SPEAKER_08: He says, I'm just gonna play shows.
7:55
SPEAKER_08: If people want to come see me, they can come see me, and you you won't see me posting, you know.
8:00
SPEAKER_08: I mean, I might post an update or whatever, but I'm not going to make a funny video uh just to get clicks.
8:06
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
8:07
SPEAKER_08: Which is what people do.
8:08
SPEAKER_08: And people do use it, and uh because it is, unfortunately, in this day and age, a tool to sell a product or business.
8:18
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
8:19
SPEAKER_10: I mean, I don't mind you because I make videos sometimes and you know, just just to be stupid.
8:24
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
8:25
SPEAKER_10: I don't I don't mind that kind of stuff.
8:26
SPEAKER_10: But when you when you're trying to hawk something or you're trying to present something like a lifestyle or something, I'm like, I'm not interested.
8:34
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
8:34
SPEAKER_10: I don't care about your lifestyle.
8:36
SPEAKER_08: Right.
8:37
SPEAKER_08: Well, often just shut up and leave me alone.
8:39
SPEAKER_08: Often those things are are sponsors.
8:42
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, well, I mean they're look at what I'm wearing.
8:44
SPEAKER_08: That's great.
8:45
SPEAKER_10: They're hawking some sort of product, you know, some sort of product placement.
8:49
SPEAKER_08: And they get paid for it.
8:50
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I get it.
8:50
SPEAKER_10: And I mean, I I you know, if that's how you make your living, I mean, more power to you, but you know, I I just I'm just so tired of it, I guess.
8:58
SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
8:58
SPEAKER_10: No, I hear you.
8:59
SPEAKER_10: I'm just like, I'm just very depressed about it, and I just want to be like, yeah.
9:04
SPEAKER_08: How do we cheer you up?
9:05
SPEAKER_08: Tell us how to cheer you up.
9:06
SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna go home.
9:07
SPEAKER_10: That's what I want.
9:08
SPEAKER_08: All right.

9:19
SPEAKER_08: All right.
9:21
SPEAKER_10: I'm out of here, Damien.
9:27
SPEAKER_10: All right.
9:27
SPEAKER_10: You can take it.
9:29
SPEAKER_10: I just love that part of that movie.
9:33
SPEAKER_10: Tell me you have to find a doctor to take it out again.
9:36
SPEAKER_10: What movie?
9:37
SPEAKER_10: Wayne's World.
9:38
SPEAKER_10: Oh.
9:39
SPEAKER_10: When they're fighting on the hood of the car, and all you get is just see a mouth that words.
9:44
SPEAKER_08: You're so much better at remembering that stuff than I don't know.
9:47
SPEAKER_10: I just that just sticks in my head.
9:48
SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
9:49
SPEAKER_08: Um couple things I want to do today.
9:52
SPEAKER_08: Uh first I want to tell you about my trip.
9:54
SPEAKER_08: Uh so I took a trip to Boston.
9:55
SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, that's right.
9:56
SPEAKER_08: Um we left Eli and I left uh Sunday afternoon at like three.
10:02
SPEAKER_08: And we got done.
10:04
SPEAKER_08: It was a late start, but we were we're staying at um my family's camp in Shapley.
10:09
SPEAKER_08: Right.
10:09
SPEAKER_08: So we got there about nine thirty, something like that, and just basically just went straight to bed.
10:15
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
10:15
SPEAKER_08: Because we got up at 5 30, because I wanted to I he had to be there around nine o'clock at at Wentworth uh Institute of Technology in Boston, right downtown Boston.
10:27
SPEAKER_08: And you know, there are there are things that you could you could take a train into Boston from Portland, I think.
10:35
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, the the what do they call it?
10:36
SPEAKER_10: The clipper.
10:37
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, something like that.
10:39
SPEAKER_08: You can do that.
10:39
SPEAKER_08: You can there's a couple of you can Yankee Clipper, I think.
10:42
SPEAKER_08: You can go into Boston Park and then take a subway over to over to Wyworth.
10:46
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
10:47
SPEAKER_08: Um but I chose just to drive in downtown Boston.
10:50
SPEAKER_10: That may have been your worst trial option.
10:53
SPEAKER_08: It wasn't as bad as I thought.
10:54
SPEAKER_08: I mean it was it was it was stressful.
10:56
SPEAKER_10: Because driving to Massachusetts is just a nightmare anyway.
10:59
SPEAKER_10: In Boston, if you look at a map of Boston, yeah, you're like It's crazy.
11:04
SPEAKER_10: Who made who made these streets?
11:05
SPEAKER_08: Right.
11:06
SPEAKER_10: How drunk were they?
11:07
SPEAKER_08: Right.
11:08
SPEAKER_08: You know what I mean?
11:08
SPEAKER_08: Yep.
11:09
SPEAKER_08: I mean it's just crazy.
11:10
SPEAKER_08: So we got up at 5 30 and we hit the road, and we got there.
11:17
SPEAKER_08: Well, I think we got there a couple hours early.
11:19
SPEAKER_08: No, wait.
11:20
SPEAKER_08: No, because I w we got we hit rush hour traffic.
11:23
SPEAKER_06: Oh, good.
11:24
SPEAKER_08: And we ended up getting there maybe it was like an hour early.
11:27
SPEAKER_08: Something like that.
11:28
SPEAKER_08: So we walked around.
11:29
SPEAKER_08: We went to the basilica and went in to see the the church, and he was like, Whoa, and you I should show you pictures, dude.
11:35
SPEAKER_08: It was awesome.
11:36
SPEAKER_08: It was amazing.
11:37
SPEAKER_08: Um anyway, so we went back and he we met his roommate um and uh his roommate's dad and I talked a little bit and then we said, You're good?
11:50
SPEAKER_08: Good, we're leaving.
11:51
SPEAKER_08: So he got back on the train, I went back to my car, and I drove two hours back to camp.
11:57
SPEAKER_08: Actually, no, I drove two hours back to South Portland um while he was because he was staying the night at Wentworth.
12:04
SPEAKER_08: And so I went to South Portland and I met up with my sister and I took her out to lunch, surprised her, was pretty pretty cool.
12:11
SPEAKER_08: Um and then I went to Guitar Center and I spent like 45 minutes in Guitar Center.
12:17
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
12:17
SPEAKER_08: It was glorious.
12:18
SPEAKER_10: Oh, I bet.
12:19
SPEAKER_08: I bought a hat.
12:20
SPEAKER_08: It's upstairs, I'll show you later.
12:22
SPEAKER_10: You went to Guitar Center and bought a hat.
12:25
SPEAKER_08: Bought a hat.
12:25
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, because uh I couldn't afford anything else.
12:28
SPEAKER_10: That's a good that's valid.
12:29
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah.
12:30
SPEAKER_10: Um should have got a t-shirt.
12:32
SPEAKER_10: I went to guitar center, all I got was a stupid shirt.
12:34
SPEAKER_08: Well, that they did have t-shirts there, but they didn't have any my size.
12:37
SPEAKER_08: Wow.
12:37
SPEAKER_08: It's all for like little little kids.
12:40
SPEAKER_08: Um losers.
12:41
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, so um, and then I went to uh the bookstore.
12:47
SPEAKER_08: I bought a book.
12:48
SPEAKER_08: Um Clint Clint Black uh biography, autobiography, bi autobiography.
12:54
SPEAKER_08: And then I went to Bull Moose in Scarborough, and then I went to Bull Moose in Biddeford, and then I went back to camp and was got there about four o'clock.
13:08
SPEAKER_08: It started pouring about three thirty.
13:10
SPEAKER_08: And you don't know my camp.
13:12
SPEAKER_08: It's literally a log cabin.
13:16
SPEAKER_08: It's like like not like not like a new log cabin.
13:19
SPEAKER_08: They built it in 1934, something like that.
13:23
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it was pre like modern stuff.
13:26
SPEAKER_08: There's modern, it's it's modern now because my wife's cousin uh is the one that runs it now.
13:32
SPEAKER_08: There's a TV and there's I mean it's the amenities.
13:36
SPEAKER_08: But the the structure itself is logs.
13:38
SPEAKER_08: I mean it's you know, and so I'm I'm in there and I'm I'm laying in bed and it's just boring.
13:45
SPEAKER_08: And I think the roof is gonna come in on top of me.
13:48
SPEAKER_08: Anyway, I don't know why I'm telling you that.
13:50
SPEAKER_08: Um so and then I got up the next day and drove back to Boston by myself with no navigator, and picked him up, and then we came back and it was good.
14:01
SPEAKER_08: It was it was it was uh a long a lot of driving, uh, but I got to crank my music, you know, and and uh it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be driving in Boston.
14:13
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it was still stressful.
14:14
SPEAKER_10: Well it's not right in Boston, right?
14:16
SPEAKER_08: No, it was right in B.
14:16
SPEAKER_08: Oh, it's right in Boston.
14:17
SPEAKER_08: Right in Boston, yeah.
14:18
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
14:19
SPEAKER_08: Uh matter of fact, so we um used the map on our phones or whatever, and he I had Eli on the way down as a navigator.
14:27
SPEAKER_08: So he's like, you gotta take this road, you gotta take this road.
14:29
SPEAKER_08: Okay, so and then we pull in, we get to the parking garage, and he then we drop him off, and I have to get out.
14:37
SPEAKER_08: So I type in uh my phone, Wells Main.
14:40
SPEAKER_08: You know, like I want to get to back to Wells Main.
14:42
SPEAKER_08: Right.
14:43
SPEAKER_08: And so it says, All right, go this way, go this way.
14:45
SPEAKER_08: And then Siri's talking to me, he's like, take this next left and head into downtown.
14:50
SPEAKER_08: I'm like, why are you taking me downtown?
14:53
SPEAKER_08: I didn't come through town, but she took me right down to town Boston.
14:58
SPEAKER_08: And then I had to find Route One and go up again.
15:02
SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah, right in downtown.
15:04
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I don't know why it does that, because it did it to me when I went to Boston a couple years ago for Chris's wedding.
15:09
SPEAKER_08: Right.
15:10
SPEAKER_10: And I was like, when I left, I was like, I'll just, you know, just backtrack basically.
15:14
SPEAKER_08: Right.
15:14
SPEAKER_10: But it was like taking me like weird directions.
15:17
SPEAKER_10: What the where did what is wrong with you, Google?
15:21
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it was it was being stupid.
15:23
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I don't, I think it's just Boston itself.
15:26
SPEAKER_10: I mean, it's like it's finding the easiest route, but it's like, why don't you just why don't it just give it me just backtrack the way I came?
15:34
SPEAKER_08: Right.
15:34
SPEAKER_10: That seemed to be pretty easy.
15:36
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, you know, I don't know.
15:38
SPEAKER_08: Um anyway, one of the things I picked up, we won't play it today, I don't think.
15:43
SPEAKER_08: But I picked up a new game.
15:44
SPEAKER_08: Oh, you did?
15:45
SPEAKER_08: I did.
15:45
SPEAKER_08: What is it?
15:46
SPEAKER_08: Uh it is it's not I don't know if it's a game per se.
15:50
SPEAKER_06: Looks like a game.
15:50
SPEAKER_08: But it is something that we could um really kind of sink our teeth into.
15:55
SPEAKER_08: Um 50, uh it's it's called hypotheticals.
15:59
SPEAKER_08: 50 questions for insane conversations.
16:03
SPEAKER_10: Oh, I like that.
16:04
SPEAKER_08: So I'll just give you an example.
16:06
SPEAKER_08: Um let's see.
16:08
SPEAKER_08: You are offered a brain pill that will make you 10% more intelligent, but you will seem 20% less intelligent to everyone else.
16:19
SPEAKER_08: Do you take this pill?
16:23
SPEAKER_08: So there's the conversation.
16:24
SPEAKER_08: I like it.
16:25
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
16:25
SPEAKER_08: Uh here's another one.
16:26
SPEAKER_08: These are all on the back of the box, so if we get to them, we just won't read them.
16:30
SPEAKER_08: Uh, you are in an unfortunate situation in which you are forced to consider cannibalism in order to stay alive.
16:36
SPEAKER_08: Would you rather eat babies or elderly people?
16:42
SPEAKER_08: I'll read two more.
16:44
SPEAKER_08: How would your mother answer these questions?
16:46
SPEAKER_08: Oh wait, no, never mind.
16:47
SPEAKER_08: That's not it.
16:48
SPEAKER_08: This isn't this is the last one.
16:50
SPEAKER_08: I know what your answer's gonna be on this too.
16:53
SPEAKER_08: Suppose you wake up inhabiting Bruce Springsteen's body.
16:56
SPEAKER_08: Your voice sounds just like Bruce's, but your music ab musical ability is still entirely your own.
17:03
SPEAKER_08: You're scheduled to perform in a huge concert that night.
17:06
SPEAKER_08: What do you do?
17:11
SPEAKER_08: Right?
17:11
SPEAKER_08: So these are, I mean, I thought it was kind of neat, and we could just we could find a funny one and go off on it and kind of kind of a conversation starter.
17:20
SPEAKER_08: I like that.
17:21
SPEAKER_08: Whatever.
17:21
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
17:21
SPEAKER_08: So hypertheticals.
17:23
SPEAKER_08: Hypertheticals.
17:24
SPEAKER_08: And I did get that from Boom Moose, too.
17:25
SPEAKER_08: All right.
17:26
SPEAKER_08: Alright.
17:27
SPEAKER_08: So um you noticed that uh the basement isn't done.
17:32
SPEAKER_10: I did.
17:36
SPEAKER_08: I have worked on it.
17:37
SPEAKER_08: Let's see.
17:38
SPEAKER_08: I actually had a hard tire, harder time getting to the love seed than normal.
17:42
SPEAKER_08: Right, because some of this stuff was over there.
17:44
SPEAKER_08: Right.
17:44
SPEAKER_08: I brought it over here.
17:46
SPEAKER_08: So that part's clean.
17:48
SPEAKER_08: Well, there we go.
17:49
SPEAKER_08: Progress.
17:50
SPEAKER_08: No, I've spent a few days in the basement so far, and it's a matter of going through stuff and and deciding what to keep and what to throw.
17:59
SPEAKER_08: So I I have made some progress.
18:02
SPEAKER_08: Not much, but I have made some progress.
18:04
SPEAKER_08: Tomorrow I'm working in the basement all day.
18:06
SPEAKER_08: Uh haven't touched this room except for adding to it.
18:09
SPEAKER_08: Um, but hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get through some more things and move some things around.
18:17
SPEAKER_08: And I it's it's not gonna be done by the end of June.
18:20
SPEAKER_08: I'm hoping it's done by the time I go back to school at the end of July.
18:24
SPEAKER_10: Well, that was the timeline I set for you.
18:26
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
18:27
SPEAKER_08: Because that was more realistic.
18:28
SPEAKER_08: I think there will be progress made if I if I adhere to that.
18:32
SPEAKER_08: So um, but you know, today I spent all day playing guitar, trying to get ready for practice because I'm out of practice.
18:39
SPEAKER_08: Uh tomorrow we'll be in the basement.
18:40
SPEAKER_08: Friday, I'll play some more guitar because we have a gig Friday night.
18:44
SPEAKER_08: So I need to uh brush up on some of those songs.
18:47
SPEAKER_08: And then I know that Finn has basketball games all weekend.
18:51
SPEAKER_08: It's a Prescott Invitational or something like that, so we'll be we'll be busy with that.
18:55
SPEAKER_08: So anyway.
18:57
SPEAKER_08: Um I had a couple of things from Ultimate Classic Rock, but I also had Bob.
19:02
SPEAKER_08: Did you see the the thing that um Bob asked us about Rush?
19:07
SPEAKER_10: Which Bob?
19:09
SPEAKER_10: R Bob?
19:09
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
19:10
SPEAKER_10: Oh, no, I didn't see it.
19:11
SPEAKER_08: You didn't see it.
19:11
SPEAKER_08: Okay, so he had he had a kind of a neat uh question uh and he shared his and we haven't shared ours, so I figured that maybe we could Because sharing is caring.
19:24
SPEAKER_08: Sharing is caring.
19:26
SPEAKER_08: It's in the Tomcat thread.
19:27
SPEAKER_08: You didn't see that in the Tomcat thread?
19:29
SPEAKER_10: I might have and just like I'll get back to this later, and then didn't.
19:34
SPEAKER_08: Okay, so uh let's see.
19:37
SPEAKER_10: Because I was, you know, being influenced to buy laboo boos or something.
19:44
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
19:49
SPEAKER_10: Have you seen those things?
19:50
SPEAKER_08: Yes.
19:50
SPEAKER_10: They are the friggin' ugliest things, and people are going crazy.
19:55
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it is laboooboo.
19:56
SPEAKER_10: Well, there's a there's like three things.
19:58
SPEAKER_10: There's a lafufu, but that's not No, I've never heard of a lafufu or a babu.
20:01
SPEAKER_10: Well, they're fake laboo boos, but that's what people call them.
20:03
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I haven't heard of a laboo boo.
20:04
SPEAKER_10: I've heard they uh it it's bait you know the Where the Wild Things Are books?
20:08
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, the the preach it's based on that.
20:10
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
20:12
SPEAKER_08: My daughter calls them something else.
20:14
SPEAKER_10: She calls there there's There's probably other things, but that's that's what caught my eye, and I was like, because people are just going, they have vending machines full of them.
20:22
SPEAKER_08: So crazy.
20:23
SPEAKER_10: And these like resellers like camp out and they buy them all, and there's like there's like fights breaking out over There's cabbage patch kids.
20:31
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it's it's basically the 80s and the cabbage patch kids.
20:33
SPEAKER_10: Right.
20:33
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
20:33
SPEAKER_10: I'm like, geez girl, we just devolve when it comes to stuff like this.
20:37
SPEAKER_10: We really have.
20:38
SPEAKER_10: It just you know, here we have, you know, in our pocket, we have a computer that's way powerful than what we used to send people to the moon in '69, and we're still fighting over stuffed animals.
20:50
SPEAKER_10: Right.
20:50
SPEAKER_10: That are evil looking.
20:52
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
20:52
SPEAKER_10: I don't get us.
20:54
SPEAKER_10: I don't get us as a species.
20:56
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
20:56
SPEAKER_10: That's why aliens don't come here.
20:59
SPEAKER_10: They just they just look at us and go, oh man, those guys are effed.
21:04
SPEAKER_10: Roll the windows up, Marge.
21:05
SPEAKER_10: We gotta keep going.
21:06
SPEAKER_10: Just keep driving.
21:07
SPEAKER_10: Don't don't make eye contact with these people.
21:09
SPEAKER_10: That's why I don't believe in aliens.
21:11
SPEAKER_08: So you don't believe in aliens?
21:13
SPEAKER_10: I don't believe in aliens.
21:14
SPEAKER_10: I believe in UFOs, but I don't believe in aliens.
21:17
SPEAKER_08: So I was just reading the uh mixtape question because I forgot to pick a song as usual.
21:24
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I did too.
21:25
SPEAKER_10: What is the question?
21:26
SPEAKER_08: Um oh wait, we shouldn't we should uh wait.
21:29
SPEAKER_10: We're getting sidetracked.
21:29
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, we're getting sidetracked.
21:31
SPEAKER_08: Um so Bob Bob.
21:34
SPEAKER_08: Bob So Bob posed a question because we he talked a little bit about uh how uh the whole Anakin Niles thing with Rush was was awesome, and I agree.
21:46
SPEAKER_08: Uh maybe was it is is awesome.
21:48
SPEAKER_08: Sorry.

22:02
SPEAKER_08: Uh on those same along those same lines, uh Ultimate Classic Rock has a headline, What are the big four of Rush albums?
22:11
SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah.
22:12
SPEAKER_08: So let's start there.
22:13
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
22:13
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
22:14
SPEAKER_10: Uh I I hate it when they put the put the answers and what they put in the in the I don't know that they did.
22:20
SPEAKER_10: I haven't.
22:21
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I bet I guarantee you they did, because those are two awesome albums.
22:24
SPEAKER_10: Actually, three awesome albums.
22:25
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
22:25
SPEAKER_08: I really can't say anything because I don't know You can't see what the fourth was the Rush albums.
22:32
SPEAKER_08: Uh I mean I know them, but I don't know any of the any of the album cuts or anything like that.
22:38
SPEAKER_08: So uh I I'm familiar with a few of the albums, so I'm gonna refrain, but I want to hear your top four uh rushes.
22:46
SPEAKER_10: Well, it's gonna be these ones that they're showing right now.
22:47
SPEAKER_08: Okay, whatever.
22:48
SPEAKER_10: 2112.
22:49
SPEAKER_08: Is this in order or just 2112?
22:52
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, moving pictures.
22:53
SPEAKER_10: Moving pictures?
22:54
SPEAKER_10: Fly by night.
22:54
SPEAKER_10: Fly by night.
22:55
SPEAKER_10: I don't know what that other one in the corner is.
22:57
SPEAKER_10: I don't know if I agree with that or not.
22:58
SPEAKER_06: This one right here is moving pictures.
23:00
SPEAKER_10: No, no, the one on the upper right.
23:01
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that one.
23:02
SPEAKER_10: I don't know what that is.
23:03
SPEAKER_10: I can't tell from here.
23:05
SPEAKER_10: Oh, I think that's uh Roll the Bones?
23:08
SPEAKER_10: That's not Caress of Steel, is it?
23:10
SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
23:11
SPEAKER_10: That's Caress of Steel.
23:12
SPEAKER_10: That's not on my list.
23:14
SPEAKER_08: Okay, so what's your fourth one?
23:16
SPEAKER_10: Uh I don't know.
23:17
SPEAKER_10: Uh to be honest with you.
23:20
SPEAKER_10: Uh maybe signals.
23:22
SPEAKER_10: I like the signals album.
23:24
SPEAKER_10: Which one is subdivisions on?
23:26
SPEAKER_10: Signals.
23:26
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
23:26
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
23:27
SPEAKER_08: Because I love subdivisions.
23:28
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
23:29
SPEAKER_08: So you said 2112.
23:30
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
23:31
SPEAKER_10: Moving pictures, moving pictures.
23:32
SPEAKER_08: Fly by night by night, and signals.
23:34
SPEAKER_08: Signals.

23:35
SPEAKER_08: Those are my four.
23:36
SPEAKER_08: Okay, according to Ultimate Classic Rock, uh Fly by Night.
23:40
SPEAKER_10: Well, that was the first one with Neil.
23:42
SPEAKER_10: Okay.
23:42
SPEAKER_10: So that makes sense.
23:44
SPEAKER_08: Um 2112?
23:48
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
23:48
SPEAKER_10: That's obviously.
23:50
SPEAKER_08: Oh, farewell to Kings.
23:52
SPEAKER_10: Oh, that is a good album.
23:53
SPEAKER_08: Would you put that?
23:54
SPEAKER_10: No, I I wouldn't put it in my top four, but I like that album.
23:57
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
23:58
SPEAKER_08: Uh Moving Pictures.
23:59
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, Moving Pictures is awesome.
24:01
SPEAKER_08: Yep.

24:01
SPEAKER_08: So that's their top four.
24:02
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
24:03
SPEAKER_08: Um, I I really can't answer it because I mean I know I I might be able to answer my top ten Rush songs.
24:08
SPEAKER_08: Right.
24:09
SPEAKER_08: Uh, but I can I can't answer that one because I don't know them well enough yet.
24:13
SPEAKER_08: So let's do that.
24:14
SPEAKER_10: I like the Roll the Bones album too.
24:16
SPEAKER_08: Because it's that was a more modern sounding one, right?
24:19
SPEAKER_10: Well, it was it it was like that period in the 80s when they were in the 80s they were really synth heady heavy.
24:25
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, and Alex didn't like it.
24:27
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, and Alex didn't like it, but Roll the Bones was more like back to rock and roll.
24:32
SPEAKER_10: Right.
24:32
SPEAKER_10: Less synth and more guitar.
24:34
SPEAKER_08: Right.
24:34
SPEAKER_10: So I like that album.
24:35
SPEAKER_10: That that has and I love the song Roll the Bones.
24:38
SPEAKER_08: I do too.
24:38
SPEAKER_10: So it's a great song.
24:40
SPEAKER_08: Um I just want to see what other songs I might know on that album.
24:45
SPEAKER_08: Uh let's see.
24:48
SPEAKER_10: Is Andre new on that album?
24:50
SPEAKER_10: No.
24:50
SPEAKER_10: Does it give a track listing somewhere?
24:54
SPEAKER_08: On Wiki.
24:55
SPEAKER_08: Wiki.
24:55
SPEAKER_08: Wiki.
24:56
SPEAKER_10: Wick it, wick, wiki, wick.
24:57
SPEAKER_08: There it is.
24:57
SPEAKER_08: There it is.
24:58
SPEAKER_08: Roll the Bones, uh, Where's My Thing?
25:00
SPEAKER_08: The Big Wheel.
25:02
SPEAKER_08: You know what?
25:02
SPEAKER_08: The funny thing is is Roll of the Bones is the only song I know on that album.
25:05
SPEAKER_10: One of the other songs.
25:06
SPEAKER_08: Dreamline, Bravado.
25:07
SPEAKER_08: Good song.
25:08
SPEAKER_08: Face Up.
25:09
SPEAKER_08: Where's My Thing?
25:10
SPEAKER_08: The Big Wheel.
25:13
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it says that, actually.
25:15
SPEAKER_08: Heresy, Ghost of a Chance.
25:17
SPEAKER_10: Ghosts of a Chance is awesome, dude.
25:19
SPEAKER_08: Neurotica, you bet your life.
25:21
SPEAKER_10: Ghost of a Chance is a great song.
25:23
SPEAKER_08: Um so many great songs.
25:25
SPEAKER_08: Okay, so let's let's um let's do this.
25:30
SPEAKER_08: Uh Rush.
25:34
SPEAKER_08: Because I might need to um Do you want to do top five, not top ten?
25:40
SPEAKER_10: Well, Bob did ten, so.
25:41
SPEAKER_08: Did he?
25:41
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
25:42
SPEAKER_10: Well, did he do ten?
25:43
SPEAKER_10: I thought you said he did ten.
25:44
SPEAKER_08: Well, he's he did.
25:44
SPEAKER_08: I'd love to know your top ten.
25:46
SPEAKER_08: Let's see what he did.
25:46
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
25:47
SPEAKER_08: He did uh we'll equal Bob, whatever.
25:50
SPEAKER_08: Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.
25:54
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, he did.
25:55
SPEAKER_08: Okay, so we'll have to do ten.
25:56
SPEAKER_08: He did.
25:57
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
25:57
SPEAKER_08: So do you want to just hear Bob's first?
25:59
SPEAKER_08: Yes.
26:00
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
26:00
SPEAKER_08: Because I may agree with him a little while.
26:02
SPEAKER_08: So I wonder if I should have some of these ready to go.
26:05
SPEAKER_08: Um, well, working man.
26:09
SPEAKER_10: Not not on my topic.
26:11
SPEAKER_08: He thinks it just kicks ass as well.
26:12
SPEAKER_10: That's yeah, it's it's a good song, yeah.
26:14
SPEAKER_10: No doubt about it.
26:15
SPEAKER_08: YYZ?
26:16
SPEAKER_08: Yes.
26:17
SPEAKER_08: Um, Xanadu.
26:19
SPEAKER_10: My YYZ is the Exit Stage Left version.
26:24
unknown: Okay.
26:26
SPEAKER_10: It's a live version from Exit Stage Left.
26:28
SPEAKER_10: Okay.
26:28
SPEAKER_10: That would be my version.
26:29
SPEAKER_08: He says YYZ, almost everything on moving pictures is gold.
26:32
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that is true.
26:33
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
26:34
SPEAKER_08: Xanadu.
26:35
SPEAKER_08: He loves the drum fills.
26:37
SPEAKER_10: They are good.
26:38
SPEAKER_08: Uh Time Stand Still.
26:40
SPEAKER_08: He loves the harmonies with Amy Mann.
26:42
SPEAKER_08: Yep.
26:42
SPEAKER_08: Uh there's she's not singing harmony, but that's okay.
26:45
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
26:45
SPEAKER_08: Uh Subdivisions.
26:47
SPEAKER_08: Great song.
26:47
SPEAKER_08: The Camera Eye.
26:49
SPEAKER_10: Not one of my favorites.
26:50
SPEAKER_08: Uh Lavia Strangiato.
26:51
SPEAKER_10: Great song.
26:52
SPEAKER_08: Says Discovered This in College.
26:53
SPEAKER_08: Love the constantly changing compositions.
26:57
SPEAKER_08: Dreamline.
26:58
SPEAKER_08: Yep.
26:58
SPEAKER_08: He says he likes several songs from Roll the Bones, but this is still a favorite.

29:34
SPEAKER_10: Right.
29:35

29:38
SPEAKER_08: Yep.
29:39
SPEAKER_08: Uh but uh if you had to um introduce someone to Rush, um what is the song, a song that you would recommend?

SPEAKER_08: Road to Bangkok.
30:16
SPEAKER_10: It's it's not one of their better songs, but it's kind of a cool concept.
30:22
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
30:23
SPEAKER_08: Let's just kind of let's just go into it a little bit here.
30:28
SPEAKER_08: Passage to Bangkok?

SPEAKER_08: Yes, passage, sorry.
30:32
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I suck with names.
30:34
SPEAKER_10: So it's okay.

30:39
SPEAKER_08: Said my name's Chris.
30:40
SPEAKER_08: That's not why.
31:21
SPEAKER_08: I think it's funny.
31:22
SPEAKER_10: Uh there's a song called It's a later song.
31:27
SPEAKER_10: Uh something Tai Shen, I think.
31:32
SPEAKER_08: Tai Shen?
31:33
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
31:34
SPEAKER_10: It's another Chinese.
31:35
SPEAKER_10: It was inspired by Neil's bicycle trek across China.
31:40
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
31:40
SPEAKER_10: I think that's the name of it.
31:42
SPEAKER_10: Something Tai Shen.
31:43
SPEAKER_08: Tai Shan?
31:44
SPEAKER_10: Taishan.
31:45
SPEAKER_08: Tai Shan.
31:46
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
31:46
SPEAKER_10: That's a that's kind of a cool song.
31:48
SPEAKER_10: I think it's on uh what is that?
31:50
SPEAKER_10: Hold your finger?
31:51
SPEAKER_02: Yep.
31:52
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
31:53
SPEAKER_10: This was kind of a cool song because it was it was for me, it was like a really weird departure.
31:58
SPEAKER_01: So, it's funny to me.
32:36
SPEAKER_08: Um you know how there's um Do you remember when the the two guys there Beavis and Butthead?
32:46
SPEAKER_08: No, no.

32:56
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, and Paul.
32:57
SPEAKER_08: Paul Rudz.
32:57
SPEAKER_08: Rudd.
32:58
SPEAKER_08: Thank you.
32:59
SPEAKER_08: Uh that bit that they did and where where Neil comes out and he's gonna there was actually like a seven women there.

33:11
SPEAKER_10: You ate Mr.
33:12
SPEAKER_10: Pierre sandwich.
33:13
SPEAKER_08: The majority of their audience is male.
33:15
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
33:16
SPEAKER_08: Right.
33:16
SPEAKER_08: Do you think because of and I I think it is, it's gonna have an effect, because of Annika Niles.
33:24
SPEAKER_08: Do you think more women are gonna go?
33:26
SPEAKER_08: It's possible, but Rush is still gonna be Rush.
33:29
SPEAKER_08: For sure.
33:30
SPEAKER_10: But what I'm saying is, uh Well, I mean it's a little more people will look at it and be like more acceptable.
33:35
SPEAKER_08: I I saw like, you know how people have been videoing, right?
33:38
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
33:39
SPEAKER_08: A lot of the video is just Annika.
33:41
SPEAKER_08: Well, no, a lot of the video that I'm seeing is uh a woman's video.
33:48
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
33:48
SPEAKER_08: Like she's like she's filming Annika.
33:50
SPEAKER_10: Well, the president of their fan club is a woman.
33:53
SPEAKER_10: Right.
33:53
SPEAKER_10: She's like obsessed.
33:54
SPEAKER_10: Right.
33:54
SPEAKER_10: Rush.
33:55
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
33:55
SPEAKER_10: She was in their uh that documentary they made of their last tour, Time Stand Still.
34:00
SPEAKER_10: What what was her name?
34:01
SPEAKER_10: I can't think of her name.
34:03
SPEAKER_10: Dark haired woman.
34:04
SPEAKER_10: I can't think of it.
34:05
SPEAKER_10: But anyway, yeah, she's in charge of their fan club and she organizes in a rush con and all that stuff.
34:10
SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
34:12
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
34:12
SPEAKER_10: So it's probably, I would be, if it was her, if it was anybody, it was probably her.
34:15
SPEAKER_10: Right.
34:16
SPEAKER_10: But yeah, but I mean, yeah, I mean, women that are are not already rush fans can look at them and be like, oh, they got a woman drummer.
34:23
SPEAKER_10: I'll check these guys out.
34:24
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
34:25
SPEAKER_10: But rush songs are still gonna be rush songs.
34:27
SPEAKER_08: Yes, that's true.
34:28
SPEAKER_10: You know, you gotta be, yeah, it's nerd rock.
34:30
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
34:31
SPEAKER_10: I'm sorry, it's nerd rock.
34:32
SPEAKER_08: It's math.
34:36
SPEAKER_10: I mean, it's prog rock.
34:37
SPEAKER_10: All prog rock is math.
34:38
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
34:39
SPEAKER_10: You know what I mean?
34:39
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
34:39
SPEAKER_10: So it's just like, but yeah, but I mean, if you want to just, but if you want to deep track stuff, you're gonna find a lot of gems because Neil, I mean, Neil's a master with words.
34:50
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, he really is.
34:51
SPEAKER_08: Yep.
34:51
SPEAKER_10: And you listen to these songs, you're just like, wow.
34:54
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
34:54
SPEAKER_10: I never thought of making a song like that.
34:57
SPEAKER_10: It's or using those words in that order.
34:59
SPEAKER_10: You know what I mean?
35:00
SPEAKER_10: It's just like, you know, people should really just deep.
35:02
SPEAKER_08: It's a story.
35:03
SPEAKER_08: Each song is a story.
35:04
SPEAKER_08: It is.
35:04
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
35:04
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
35:05
SPEAKER_10: They're wonderfully crafted.
35:06
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
35:07
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
35:08
SPEAKER_10: Um back in the early days, have you seen like uh pictures of like his original, like when he writes songs?
35:15
SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
35:15
SPEAKER_10: He he would draw like pictures to go like like the like the title of the song, there would be a like picture involved and stuff like that.
35:22
SPEAKER_10: Right.
35:23
SPEAKER_10: I mean, the dude was just amazing.
35:26
SPEAKER_08: So we talked about your favorite band.
35:30
SPEAKER_08: I want to talk about my favorite band just for a second.
35:32
SPEAKER_10: Boring! No, I'm just kidding.
35:35
SPEAKER_08: Only because I saw this headline.
35:36
SPEAKER_08: I haven't read the article.
35:38
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
35:38
SPEAKER_08: Uh Van Halen's No Brown MMs rule will soon become reality temporarily.
35:44
SPEAKER_06: Are you getting rid of brown MMs?
35:45
SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
35:46
SPEAKER_06: What uh what because they look like rabbit poop?
35:50
SPEAKER_06: Let's see, let's read it.
35:52
SPEAKER_08: Um A decades old candy.
35:56
SPEAKER_10: Did you read Bob's top ten or did you just count them?
35:59
SPEAKER_10: I don't remember you mentioning it.
36:02
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I did.
36:02
SPEAKER_10: You mentioned all of them?
36:04
SPEAKER_10: All of them.
36:04
SPEAKER_10: You did?
36:05
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I think so.
36:08
SPEAKER_10: Why don't I remember that?
36:09
SPEAKER_08: Uh yeah, I said working man, YYZ, XANA do, time stands still, subdivisions, the camera eye.
36:16
SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, okay.
36:19
SPEAKER_08: You're right, my bad.
36:20
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
36:21
SPEAKER_08: Um anyway, back to brown MMs.
36:24
SPEAKER_08: So a decades-old candy will undergo a major change in summer, mirroring a storied piece of rock and roll lore.
36:29
SPEAKER_08: MM's maker Mars will commemorate the product's 85th anniversary by relaunching the candy in August without artificial dyes.
36:37
SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
36:38
SPEAKER_08: The Wall Street Journal reports RFK.
36:40
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, but the switch to natural coloring will come at a price as brown and blue MMs will reportedly be excluded from the initial FDNC free lineup that will soon be available on Amazon.
36:52
SPEAKER_08: While Mars was able to recreate red and yellow dye with natural sources such as beets and turmeric, blue and brown proved much more difficult and costly to replicate.
37:01
SPEAKER_08: It can be done with spruolina extract, a blue-green algae and superfood that can cost anywhere from$20 per pound in its raw form to$100 per pound in its concentrated form.
37:14
SPEAKER_08: So there's an update on this though.
37:16
SPEAKER_08: This story has been updated to reflect that brown and blue MMs will be excluded from the initial FDNC free lineup that will soon be available on Amazon.
37:23
SPEAKER_08: Mars will not remove them permanently.
37:30
SPEAKER_10: Well, they're probably just doing it for a while and then going back by the sounds of it.
37:37
SPEAKER_08: Right, but if if they weren't they ordered to remove the dyes?
37:43
SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
37:44
SPEAKER_08: I don't either.
37:45
SPEAKER_08: Anyway.
37:45
SPEAKER_10: I'm not I'm not a politician.
37:47
SPEAKER_10: I don't really care.
37:48
SPEAKER_10: I don't know why.
37:49
SPEAKER_10: Um I don't know what this has to do with Van Halen.
37:51
SPEAKER_10: It does.
37:51
SPEAKER_10: Other than the just the brown MM kind of story, you know.
37:54
SPEAKER_08: Uh the other uh story from uh Ultimate.
37:57
SPEAKER_08: Oh, it's Buddy Guy! Yeah.
37:59
SPEAKER_08: Check this out.
38:00
SPEAKER_08: Buddy Guy is gonna celebrate his 90th birthday with an all-star concert in New York City.

38:29
SPEAKER_06: Of course you will.
38:30
SPEAKER_08: And they better document this.
38:32
SPEAKER_08: This this is going on a DVD or or art stream.
38:36
SPEAKER_10: It's gonna be streamed.
38:37
SPEAKER_10: Pay-per-view or something like that.
38:38
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that that that is like the who's who of blues rock.

38:47
SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
38:48
SPEAKER_10: What is it with these blues guys living like these long, long lives?
38:51
SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
38:52

38:53
SPEAKER_08: Well, yeah.

39:09
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
39:10
SPEAKER_08: Um let's see.
39:13
SPEAKER_08: I want to go back to this because yeah, no, that's that's all I wanted to talk about.
39:18
SPEAKER_08: So I haven't picked any of these yet.
39:21
SPEAKER_08: So let's try and let's try and do this.
39:25
SPEAKER_10: Let's put on some music because it's really good.
39:28
SPEAKER_10: This music.
39:29
SPEAKER_10: That music.
39:30
SPEAKER_10: This music.
39:31
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
39:32
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
39:33
SPEAKER_08: Alright.
39:34
SPEAKER_10: Let me get some neon.
39:36
SPEAKER_08: I have not picked these yet.
39:38
SPEAKER_08: So let me just kind of take a look at them.
39:40
SPEAKER_10: Do they still make boom boxes?
39:43
SPEAKER_10: Like that.
39:44
SPEAKER_08: They do.
39:45
SPEAKER_08: Um I think they're special editions, though.
39:49
SPEAKER_08: I I don't think they make them.
39:51
SPEAKER_10: I'd like to get one and just walk around like the 80s, you know, run it on your shoulder.
39:57
SPEAKER_08: Wait, I think we've done this one.
40:01
SPEAKER_08: I think we've done this one.
40:06
SPEAKER_08: Have we done this one too?
40:08

43:47
SPEAKER_10: I'll send the words instead.
43:50
SPEAKER_10: This week was great for mixtape.
43:52
SPEAKER_10: I had to go with Doug's pick, Voodoo Child.
43:54
SPEAKER_10: That sounds like it would be an interesting private concert and get to ask the artist questions.
44:00
SPEAKER_10: About the song.
44:01
SPEAKER_10: Nice.
44:02
SPEAKER_10: And then she goes on for she gives us her answer for Smash or Trash.
44:06
SPEAKER_08: Okay, well hold that thought.
44:07
SPEAKER_08: Well I'll hold that off.
44:08
SPEAKER_08: Hold that thought.
44:09
SPEAKER_08: Alright.
44:10
SPEAKER_08: So that's the past.
44:10
SPEAKER_08: That's the past.
44:11
SPEAKER_08: Congratulations to you.
44:13
SPEAKER_08: Uh the present.
44:16
SPEAKER_08: You're excited for your first date with a new love interest.
44:21
SPEAKER_08: After waiting nervously at the restaurant for some time, you realize your date stood you up.
44:26

44:32
SPEAKER_10: Oh, I gotta do Cousin Larry.
44:34
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, because I I I'm I'm struggling for this one.

SPEAKER_08: Did you just think of it?
44:39
SPEAKER_10: Yes.
44:40
SPEAKER_10: As you were reading it, I was like, Okay.
44:42
SPEAKER_08: Trying to think of it.
44:43
SPEAKER_10: Like that little egg timer in my head went off.
44:45
SPEAKER_06: Okay.
44:47
SPEAKER_10: Okay.
44:48
SPEAKER_10: So Cousin Larry, you know, is a huge Red Sox fan.
44:54
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
44:55
SPEAKER_10: So.
44:55
SPEAKER_10: I'm driving home from Denver after watching last night's Red Sox implosion.
45:00
SPEAKER_10: I thought I should pull over and send my mixtape answer.
45:05
SPEAKER_10: I thought uh Ricky Nelson stood up, stood up, and Eric Carmen's all by myself, and also Gilbert and Sullivan's alone again.
45:14
SPEAKER_10: Naturally.
45:15
SPEAKER_10: But with apologies to the Blanchard children, I thought Billy Idol's dancing with myself would be funny.
45:21
SPEAKER_10: Honorable mention to Genesis' misunderstanding.
45:26
SPEAKER_08: What is what why is he apologizing to the Blanchard?
45:29
SPEAKER_08: What is that song about?
45:30
SPEAKER_08: What is he what does he mean?

SPEAKER_08: And uh I mean it was It was actually fun just because of Wendy.
46:30
SPEAKER_08: Well here's the thing.

SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it would have been it would have been it would have been even rougher than the first time, yeah.
46:37
SPEAKER_08: It was it was people just weren't listening.

SPEAKER_08: No, they didn't care.
46:40
SPEAKER_10: No, they didn't care, could have cared less.
46:42
SPEAKER_08: Um and so we did have a friend show up and she requested one of our songs, and then we proceeded to play uh our entire album, aside from two songs.
46:52
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, but then we threw in other songs that are gonna go on our next album.
46:56
SPEAKER_08: So we had about 45 minutes or so of all our original stuff.
47:00
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
47:01
SPEAKER_08: It was a lot of fun.
47:02
SPEAKER_08: It was fun.

SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that was pretty impressive.
47:10
SPEAKER_08: That was pretty impressive.
47:10
SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I thought.
47:11
SPEAKER_10: I mean, I can't remember the name of rush songs, but you know, I can remember the lyrics to songs we wrote 30 years ago.

SPEAKER_08: Um Bob Lam uh Bouncing Bob.
54:14
SPEAKER_08: He says, uh my vote is trash.
54:17
SPEAKER_08: Though Kenny Loggins is a favorite of mine, it is not what I call a Kenny Loggins type of music.
54:22
SPEAKER_08: Uh let's see, Kenny performed in Rangely, Maine in 2014.
54:26
SPEAKER_08: The day before the concert, Kenny was in the Red Onion restaurant in Rangely, where one of the waitresses asked him if he was going to go to the concert the next night.
54:33
SPEAKER_08: He said he wouldn't miss it for anything.
54:37
SPEAKER_08: And then he says, Backup singing from Michael McDonald, Cheryl Crow, nor Smokey Robinson could save this album.
54:44
SPEAKER_08: He's right.
54:45
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
54:45
SPEAKER_08: He's not wrong.
54:46
SPEAKER_08: Okay, sure.
54:47
SPEAKER_08: So that's two votes votes for trash.
54:49
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
54:50
SPEAKER_08: Uh and what does Miss Judge?
54:51
SPEAKER_10: What is what did Cousin Larry say?
54:54
SPEAKER_08: Oh, I I didn't heard of here from Cousin Larry.
54:56
SPEAKER_10: Oh, he didn't get back to you?
54:57
SPEAKER_08: Nope.
54:58
SPEAKER_08: Not about this one.
55:00
SPEAKER_08: I don't think.
55:00
SPEAKER_08: Anyway.
55:01
SPEAKER_08: I'll double check.
55:02
SPEAKER_10: Because he means anything to me.
55:06
SPEAKER_08: Um that's okay, because you know we know who listens to the uh podcast now.
55:13
SPEAKER_10: Let me double check for Nope.
55:17
SPEAKER_08: The last Smash or Trash was the quiet right one.
55:20
SPEAKER_08: So I have not heard from it.
55:21
SPEAKER_10: He did get a kick out of our Mickey's the Antichrist bit, though.
55:24
SPEAKER_10: Did he tell you that?
55:25
SPEAKER_10: No.
55:26
SPEAKER_10: He's like, so on Thursday I was listening to the podcast at work with my earbuds in, and I am dying of laughter listening to the Mickey Mouse's the Antichrist bit.
55:34
SPEAKER_10: I'm sure everybody thought I was certifiable.
55:36
SPEAKER_10: I played it for my wife today, and we both cracked up.
55:41
SPEAKER_08: Um also no word from Kariani from Jeff.
55:45
SPEAKER_08: So he hasn't weighed in and Kelly doesn't listen.
55:47
SPEAKER_08: We know that now.
55:49
SPEAKER_08: We know that's a fact.
55:51
SPEAKER_08: She she maybe she listened to one episode and yeah, well, I saw her at practice on Sunday.
55:57
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
55:58
SPEAKER_10: And I I was gonna say something, and I was like, nah.
56:01
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, no.
56:03
SPEAKER_08: So we've only had uh your vote, bouncing Bob's vote, and my vote, which I'm saying.
56:07
SPEAKER_10: Here's the judge's vote.
56:08
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
56:09
SPEAKER_10: Uh her judges says Where did it go?

SPEAKER_10: Oh, good.
56:20
SPEAKER_10: She loves it.
56:21
SPEAKER_10: Good.
56:21
SPEAKER_10: Okay.
56:22
SPEAKER_10: So, uh okay.
56:23
SPEAKER_10: As for Smash or Trash, I have to say trash.
56:26
SPEAKER_10: Some of the music sounded pleasant to just relax and listen to, but if it isn't something you see yourself listening to nowadays, it's trash.
56:34
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
56:35
SPEAKER_08: So I I get that.
56:36
SPEAKER_08: I mean, and that's valid.
56:37
SPEAKER_08: My vote is also trash.
56:38
SPEAKER_08: All right.
56:39
SPEAKER_08: As much as I love a few of the songs on this album, um, there's a song for his son called Cody's song, which is just beautiful.
56:46
SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
56:46
SPEAKER_08: And as a dad, you know, and it's it's a great song, but yeah.
56:50
SPEAKER_08: Um yeah, it's trash.
56:52
SPEAKER_08: Okay.
56:53
SPEAKER_08: So that's two on the tra in the trash.
56:55
SPEAKER_08: So we're oh for two.
56:56
SPEAKER_08: We're oh for two.
56:57
SPEAKER_10: It's been no no smash, all trash.
56:59
