- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person, Michelle. I guess here to do
- 0:04Speaker 1: more things that we do together, or I do at you,
- 0:08Speaker 1: I talk at you. I'm not really sure what I'm saying,
- 0:11Speaker 1: but uh, yeah, I'm a little bit out of sorts
- 0:13Speaker 1: because I don't usually record podcasts in the morning because
- 0:17Speaker 1: I usually do like work, like like job work where
- 0:21Speaker 1: you get paid and stuff in the morning. But today
- 0:24Speaker 1: I have an inspection in the afternoon, and I don't
- 0:28Speaker 1: have any other time to do this, So we're doing
- 0:30Speaker 1: it right now at nine forty six in the morning.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Yay.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I'm stressed out for some reason. So yeah, I'm gonna
- 0:38Speaker 1: do my best, I hope, and if it's not good enough,
- 0:41Speaker 1: I am sorry, but hopefully it might be. So before
- 0:45Speaker 1: we start going, I wanted to correct myself a little bit.
- 0:48Speaker 1: So last week I said that the only show that
- 0:52Speaker 1: I was actually caught up with was witch Hat. Oddly,
- 0:57Speaker 1: I don't even remember how to pronounce it now because
- 0:59Speaker 1: I had to look it up before I said it
- 1:01Speaker 1: last time. But whatever, and I am still caught up
- 1:05Speaker 1: with that. But I forgot to tell you that I'm
- 1:07Speaker 1: caught up with ree zero. I've been watching re zero
- 1:09Speaker 1: every week and it's been good. Yeah, we're in the
- 1:12Speaker 1: fourth season now, and the last episode was like pretty good.
- 1:15Speaker 1: But the episode before that, and I'm talking like two
- 1:18Speaker 1: weeks ago for you guys, was like so fucking awesome
- 1:21Speaker 1: and so much like the first season, and I got
- 1:23Speaker 1: like really really excited. So yeah, I'm having a really
- 1:27Speaker 1: good time with that. And I've heard nothing but good
- 1:29Speaker 1: things about the content of this season from late novel readers,
- 1:35Speaker 1: so yeah, I'm excited. Also with which hat.
- 1:39Speaker 2: A lie, it's just so fucking.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Pretty, Like it's pretty all the time, Like all the
- 1:46Speaker 1: animation is like stellar.
- 1:48Speaker 2: So if you like.
- 1:50Speaker 1: School which things that, yeah, I don't know, maybe you'll
- 1:55Speaker 1: like this. Yeah, it's still like not my favorite thing,
- 1:59Speaker 1: but I do think it's really good, so maybe check
- 2:03Speaker 1: it out for other things that I'm watching. Since I
- 2:05Speaker 1: did start actually watching things again, I'm still not caught
- 2:08Speaker 1: up with what I want to be caught up with.
- 2:10Speaker 1: But I did watch the first two episodes of the
- 2:12Speaker 1: second season of Door Hidora last night and they were good.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I forgot how much I like the content of this
- 2:19Speaker 1: area of the manga and how much I like the
- 2:22Speaker 1: poor fucked up cross Eye. Dang, they're so fucked up
- 2:27Speaker 1: I do think that whoever's doing sound design and music
- 2:31Speaker 1: is fucking up a little still with like the placement
- 2:35Speaker 1: of stuff, because there was there was like a really,
- 2:38Speaker 1: in my opinion, like funny joke in the manga at
- 2:42Speaker 1: the beginning of the first what would be the first
- 2:44Speaker 1: episode of the second season, and it just didn't read
- 2:48Speaker 1: right because of the kind of like happy music in
- 2:51Speaker 1: the background, Like there was a setup that didn't happen
- 2:54Speaker 1: basically because of the music, in my opinion. So that sucks,
- 2:59Speaker 1: but I like it. And also now I'm like remembering
- 3:02Speaker 1: why I like Shin so much, so I'm having a
- 3:05Speaker 1: really good time with that. But uh, yeah, that's what's
- 3:08Speaker 1: going on with anime for me, I guess. So yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 1: if you liked the first season of Dora Heydoro, you'd
- 3:15Speaker 1: probably really enjoy the second season because this is a
- 3:19Speaker 1: really good part of the manga. So yeah, so let's
- 3:23Speaker 1: do lane, because now I have to write back to
- 3:25Speaker 1: somebody also about an inspection on Wednesday, so the day
- 3:28Speaker 1: before you might be hearing this, Oh my god, I
- 3:31Speaker 1: don't have time to do anything this week. That's probably fine.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Everything's fine, So let's do it before I panic about
- 3:39Speaker 1: other things.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So episode three of Lane.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Is called Psyche. It starts the way they've all started,
- 3:46Speaker 1: with a blue screen, and then the person that says
- 3:48Speaker 1: present day, present time and it laughs a bunch, and
- 3:52Speaker 1: then like Lane fading into like the snow on the
- 3:55Speaker 1: blue screen, and then the opening theme.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yay.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I love the present day, present time thing, but I
- 4:03Speaker 1: am not doing it justice, so I'm sorry. Next, we
- 4:08Speaker 1: see like a green tinted city with like a crosswalk,
- 4:12Speaker 1: which we usually see here, but then we hear a
- 4:15Speaker 1: police siren and we see like the lights on top
- 4:17Speaker 1: of the police cars, and there are four cop cars
- 4:21Speaker 1: like in the front of Siberia, and there's some police
- 4:23Speaker 1: officers standing near them. So I guess we are picking
- 4:26Speaker 1: up right where we left off at the end of
- 4:28Speaker 1: the last episode, which if you don't remember, and I
- 4:30Speaker 1: didn't say it at the beginning of the episode, but
- 4:33Speaker 1: that's okay, I'll just say it here. Fucking Lane just
- 4:36Speaker 1: watched some dude fucking shoot himself in the mouth after
- 4:41Speaker 1: she said that everyone is connected, and he freaked out,
- 4:45Speaker 1: So we're just starting right there. Yay. Anyway, people are
- 4:49Speaker 1: leaving Siberia and there's cops gathered around the front obviously
- 4:55Speaker 1: just right after all the shit happened, and we hear
- 4:59Speaker 1: someone say there's a girl named Lane. You may have
- 5:02Speaker 1: heard of her. We see people like walking down a
- 5:05Speaker 1: street now, and then Lane and Alice leaving Siberia, and
- 5:10Speaker 1: the voice continues, she's on the wired Lane. Alice is
- 5:15Speaker 1: kind of holding Lane close, and Lane just kind of
- 5:18Speaker 1: looks blank, which is the way you might look if
- 5:20Speaker 1: you just saw someone kill themselves. And then we get
- 5:23Speaker 1: the title card Psyche Layer three, except it is in English,
- 5:28Speaker 1: and the way that this person who said it pronounced
- 5:31Speaker 1: psyche was so weird. It was like pushac And I
- 5:35Speaker 1: kind of understand because psyche is spelled super super strange
- 5:39Speaker 1: in English, but it was just so weird to listen to.
- 5:42Speaker 1: So now, you know, for some reason. Now we see
- 5:45Speaker 1: a grainy image of I think like city buildings or
- 5:49Speaker 1: building in the distance. I can't tell what this is, honestly,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and then we cut to that laser sight from the
- 5:54Speaker 1: gun like cutting through the dark. Then that weird grainy
- 5:57Speaker 1: image again, then blood, you know, seeping across the floor.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Back to that city image, and we hear a man say,
- 6:05Speaker 1: what are your parents on vacation or something? We flashed
- 6:08Speaker 1: to that gun shaking before you know, before the guy
- 6:11Speaker 1: shot himself and then to the city again, and we
- 6:14Speaker 1: hear the man say I called the number you gave me,
- 6:16Speaker 1: but no one answered. We see a close up of
- 6:19Speaker 1: the bottom half of Lane's face and she says, they're
- 6:22Speaker 1: just out. I'm not lying. Why would he think you're lying?
- 6:26Speaker 1: The guy who now we see the bottom part of
- 6:28Speaker 1: his face too, and he's got a cigarette in his mouth.
- 6:31Speaker 1: He's probably a cop, I think, says no, I didn't
- 6:35Speaker 1: say you were lying.
- 6:35Speaker 2: It's just my job to ask.
- 6:37Speaker 1: They're sitting near a desk in some sort of cubicle
- 6:41Speaker 1: area of cubicles. In the background passed a bunch of
- 6:45Speaker 1: the cubicles. There's a window and it looks like Alice
- 6:48Speaker 1: is looking through kind of into this area, and the
- 6:51Speaker 1: cop says, you're laying Iwakura your address and phone number
- 6:55Speaker 1: check out? Fine. Oh side note again, the subtitles are
- 7:00Speaker 1: like terrible in this episode. I'm I may need to
- 7:03Speaker 1: figure out a different source to watch this on because
- 7:05Speaker 1: it's really bad and I'm not sure I'm giving you
- 7:07Speaker 1: the right information all the time.
- 7:09Speaker 2: So sorry.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Anyway, we now see that Alice is, yes, definitely standing
- 7:14Speaker 1: at that window. Looking in. She's got her hands pressed
- 7:17Speaker 1: on it and she looks worried. I guess this has.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Been a more deal.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Anyway, the cop continues, it's late, so I'm going to
- 7:25Speaker 1: get someone else to take you home, But next time,
- 7:27Speaker 1: I want you to tell me exactly what you saw.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Staying quiet is a bad idea, even if you weren't involved. No,
- 7:33Speaker 1: that's not true. Stay quiet. You need a lawyer, Lane,
- 7:36Speaker 1: a lawyer. Actually, I should probably look into that. But
- 7:40Speaker 1: if you're in the US and a cop is talking
- 7:43Speaker 1: to you and possibly questioning you about your involvement in
- 7:47Speaker 1: a thing, instead of having this interrogation with a cop,
- 7:50Speaker 1: you say, I need to see a lawyer because anything
- 7:54Speaker 1: that you say can and will be used against you
- 7:57Speaker 1: if you get prosecuted. Oh yes, lawyer of Lane. Anyway,
- 8:03Speaker 1: Lane is silent. She just looks down in the ground
- 8:06Speaker 1: because she knows her fucking rights. The cop size, okay,
- 8:10Speaker 1: you're free to go. Alice like runs over. I guess
- 8:13Speaker 1: they open the door at that point, and she like
- 8:15Speaker 1: kneels down to Lane because Lane's sitting, you know, and
- 8:18Speaker 1: puts her hands over Lane's hands and is like, Lane,
- 8:21Speaker 1: I'm so sorry you should be Lane is just kind
- 8:24Speaker 1: of looking down in her hands. Alice continues, can you
- 8:27Speaker 1: ever forgive me?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Are you okay?
- 8:30Speaker 1: Lane doesn't say anything, and she's still not looking at Alice.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Alice says, are you okay?
- 8:36Speaker 2: Lane?
- 8:37Speaker 1: Lane's like uh. Alice says what Lane's like? H this?
- 8:46Speaker 1: And then we hear a voice from somewhere say, Alice,
- 8:49Speaker 1: come on, we're leaving. Alice looks in the direction of
- 8:52Speaker 1: the voice and then back at Lane and she's like, Lane.
- 8:55Speaker 2: We hear the voice again.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Say Alice. Alice starts to tear up, and she says
- 9:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry. She kind of bends over and she's like,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Lane, tomorrow, we'll talk tomorrow. Sorry. She gets
- 9:07Speaker 1: up and leaves, and Lane's like ugh. The cop says, well,
- 9:12Speaker 1: it's time for you to go home now too. Lane
- 9:14Speaker 1: looks really sad, and she just kind of stares down
- 9:16Speaker 1: at her hands again and says, oh. Now we see
- 9:20Speaker 1: telephone wires buzzing on a dark blue sky. I believe
- 9:24Speaker 1: it's supposed to be the night sky, but you know,
- 9:27Speaker 1: maybe there's light pollution, so it's looking brighter than it
- 9:30Speaker 1: would if it was, you know, not near Tokyo. And
- 9:33Speaker 1: we pan down to a street with a police car
- 9:36Speaker 1: coming over a hill and Lane is in the police car.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Obviously she's looking out of the window as they pass
- 9:42Speaker 1: all these silhouetted houses with lights on in the windows.
- 9:45Speaker 1: The car stops, the cop says, you have a key, right,
- 9:50Speaker 1: Lane's like yeah, they should probably like walk her to
- 9:53Speaker 1: the door or something. We are kind of far away
- 9:57Speaker 1: from the car, like it's a pretty wide shot, so
- 10:00Speaker 1: we just hear the door car shut, and then the
- 10:02Speaker 1: car drives off and it's like too dark to see Lane,
- 10:06Speaker 1: but I assume she got out. Next week, cut to
- 10:10Speaker 1: inside of the dark hallway as she opens the door,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and then her walking in bear slippers. She looks into
- 10:20Speaker 1: the living, dining, open plan kitchen area and it's dark
- 10:24Speaker 1: except for like the moonlight streaming and through the windows. Honestly,
- 10:28Speaker 1: it feels pretty peaceful, but I don't know if it's
- 10:30Speaker 1: supposed to do. We cut to her feet walking up
- 10:34Speaker 1: the stairs and she knocks on a door and then
- 10:37Speaker 1: waits and opens its. Inside the room is empty and dark.
- 10:44Speaker 1: It also has two twin beds. I'm assuming this is
- 10:46Speaker 1: her parents' room. So I don't know what we're saying here.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I don't know if this was just kind of a
- 10:51Speaker 1: common thing at the time where we pretended that married
- 10:54Speaker 1: couples don't have sex like we used to do in
- 10:56Speaker 1: the US with the two twin beds in a married
- 10:58Speaker 1: couple's room on TV, or if we're trying to say
- 11:02Speaker 1: that her parents are having problems, it's got to be
- 11:05Speaker 1: one of the other. I'm just not sure which one.
- 11:07Speaker 1: But regardless, nobody is in this room and she just
- 11:11Speaker 1: kind of stares in for a moment and then sighs
- 11:14Speaker 1: and closes the door. Now we have this weird shot
- 11:17Speaker 1: of her like standing in the hallway, and the camera
- 11:19Speaker 1: starts to kind of pull away, so we're seeing more
- 11:22Speaker 1: and more of the hallway as she stands there. But like,
- 11:25Speaker 1: there's this weird thing that's going on where I don't
- 11:27Speaker 1: know if it's on purpose or not, but the hallway
- 11:30Speaker 1: is kind of you know, morphing and getting longer and
- 11:32Speaker 1: smaller because we're seeing more of it, So where she
- 11:35Speaker 1: is is getting you know, further back and smaller, but
- 11:38Speaker 1: she stays the same size. It's just really weird, so
- 11:42Speaker 1: it looks like the hallway is literally getting smaller or
- 11:45Speaker 1: she's growing again. I don't know if this was on purpose,
- 11:48Speaker 1: or not, but it was weird. We cut to her
- 11:50Speaker 1: turning the handle of the door, and we see from
- 11:54Speaker 1: the inside of the room as she opens the door,
- 11:57Speaker 1: and the light hits her face, first the sliver and
- 12:00Speaker 1: then widening as she opens the door, and the light
- 12:03Speaker 1: is I mean coming from the window, but also coming
- 12:05Speaker 1: from Nabby's screen which is on, and there's like a
- 12:09Speaker 1: screensaver on. It's just blue, but it said screensaver, so
- 12:13Speaker 1: that's how I know. She stares at it from across
- 12:16Speaker 1: the dark room and then gasps for some reason. She
- 12:20Speaker 1: slowly walks over and sits down at the desk, and
- 12:23Speaker 1: we see like a bunch of open windows kind of
- 12:25Speaker 1: like fading out. I don't know what's going on, and
- 12:27Speaker 1: then like a blue circle looks almost kind of like
- 12:31Speaker 1: an eye. But then I was like, I think that's
- 12:33Speaker 1: just the logo for the computer.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 12:35Speaker 1: As she stares at it, it kind of looks like
- 12:37Speaker 1: it just goes back to the screensaver. Then we cut
- 12:40Speaker 1: to her stuffed animals on the window sill, lit by
- 12:43Speaker 1: the street lights, and then she wakes up like she
- 12:46Speaker 1: had just fallen asleep on her desk.
- 12:48Speaker 2: It's a weird cut.
- 12:50Speaker 1: She looks towards the door, sits up, and then stands
- 12:54Speaker 1: and walks back across the room. She goes back to
- 12:57Speaker 1: the living room, dining room, kitchen combination area to check
- 13:02Speaker 1: to see if anybody's home yet, and obviously they are not.
- 13:05Speaker 1: It is still just dark and silent. So she goes
- 13:10Speaker 1: back down the hallway and back up the stairs I suppose,
- 13:13Speaker 1: even though they didn't show that, and knocks again on
- 13:16Speaker 1: her parents' door, opens it, and then after a second
- 13:20Speaker 1: closes it. We cut to her hands typing on an
- 13:24Speaker 1: English keyboard, like there's no Japanese characters at all. I
- 13:28Speaker 1: don't know if that's a thing that was going on
- 13:30Speaker 1: in the late nineties, but that's weird. She is typing
- 13:35Speaker 1: messages in English, and she's like saying it as.
- 13:38Speaker 2: She types it.
- 13:39Speaker 1: The screen says like search mail, and Navi says there
- 13:44Speaker 1: are no messages for Lane. Laane gets up from the
- 13:47Speaker 1: desk and says good night Navi, and obvious like good
- 13:51Speaker 1: night Lane. Lane kind of turns back and looks at
- 13:54Speaker 1: the computer for like way way too long. Then she
- 13:59Speaker 1: takes off her jazz and sits on the bed in size.
- 14:03Speaker 1: We pull in on Navi's glowing screen and then fade
- 14:07Speaker 1: to laying asleep in her bed with her bare one seon.
- 14:11Speaker 1: We cut to her stuffed animals on the windowsill, just
- 14:14Speaker 1: overwhelmed by sunlight. Just everything is so fucking bright. And
- 14:19Speaker 1: she wakes up and looks at her super bright ceiling
- 14:23Speaker 1: like everything is super overexposed again, I mean not to
- 14:27Speaker 1: the point where you can't tell what it is, but
- 14:29Speaker 1: it's fucking white everywhere. She gets out of bed, opens
- 14:33Speaker 1: the door and walks down like the super bright stairs.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Then we cut to a faucet running. Next we see
- 14:41Speaker 1: breakfast on a table. It's two croissants, salad, milk, I
- 14:46Speaker 1: think in a mug, one sidey side up egg, one
- 14:49Speaker 1: piece of broccoli, and two sausages. There's at least one
- 14:52Speaker 1: other anime where we've done one piece of broccoli, and
- 14:56Speaker 1: I think it was probably banana fish because I kind
- 14:59Speaker 1: of remember talking about and just being like, that's weird.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Why would you just have one piece of broccoli? But
- 15:03Speaker 1: that's what it is, one piece of broccoli. Anyway. Her
- 15:06Speaker 1: mom is at the kitchen sink. We're seeing the back
- 15:09Speaker 1: of her, and she is probably washing dishes.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Because the water is still running.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Lane kind of looks in from the hall. I guess
- 15:17Speaker 1: she's probably surprised to see that anyone's there, considering last
- 15:20Speaker 1: night they warn't, and her mom, without turning around, says,
- 15:24Speaker 1: don't you think it's embarrassing to oversleep and be late
- 15:27Speaker 1: for school? She's dude, Lane's like mom last night. Her
- 15:34Speaker 1: mom turns and it's like, huh what. Lane kind of
- 15:38Speaker 1: gives up and says, never mind. We cut to her
- 15:42Speaker 1: opening the front door and walking down those super exposed
- 15:45Speaker 1: steps and then walking down the street. She stops and gasps,
- 15:51Speaker 1: and for a second, I thought we were gonna see
- 15:53Speaker 1: that dude again, but no, there's just this black sedan parked,
- 15:57Speaker 1: you know, like at the curbs slightly.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Down the block.
- 16:01Speaker 1: The windows are tinted so like we can't see inside
- 16:03Speaker 1: it all. Lane stares at it as she walks by,
- 16:07Speaker 1: actually probably more worried than you should be to just
- 16:09Speaker 1: see a car park somewhere, but she is. And this
- 16:14Speaker 1: red dot kind of like the laser side from the
- 16:16Speaker 1: gun appears in the front window, and she gasps, and
- 16:21Speaker 1: it seems to follow her as she's walking, like someone
- 16:25Speaker 1: is you know, focused in on her specifically with it
- 16:28Speaker 1: maybe a gun, And she gasps again. And just runs
- 16:32Speaker 1: for it. Now we see her on the train, standing
- 16:36Speaker 1: at the door again, and we get to wires on
- 16:39Speaker 1: an over exposed background, like as they pass by, and
- 16:43Speaker 1: a voice like a man's voice says, Lane, Lane. Lane
- 16:48Speaker 1: turns and she doesn't see anyone around, and the voice continues,
- 16:53Speaker 1: good morning, Lane, you can hear me right what? Lane
- 16:57Speaker 1: looks around some more, pretty worried because what the fuck
- 17:01Speaker 1: and says who's there? The voice is like, you're not alone.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I think she is, so I'm kind of worried. Lane
- 17:09Speaker 1: gasps me too. Then it's just kind of quiet, and
- 17:12Speaker 1: she looks back out the window. We cut two girls
- 17:15Speaker 1: walking through the gates of the school. Then we see
- 17:18Speaker 1: feet walking in the hallway of the school, and then
- 17:22Speaker 1: we cut to Lane as she's approaching the classroom door
- 17:25Speaker 1: and all the kids inside here like standing in a group,
- 17:29Speaker 1: and Lane kind of stopped at the door and just
- 17:31Speaker 1: listens in. And one girl says, how did it happen?
- 17:35Speaker 1: Did he kill himself? Someone else is like, did you
- 17:38Speaker 1: see him?
- 17:38Speaker 2: Was he cute?
- 17:39Speaker 1: What? Another girl's like, I don't know. They wouldn't show
- 17:42Speaker 1: his face on TV. Someone else says was he cute?
- 17:48Speaker 1: Another girl says well, I think he was cute. Someone
- 17:51Speaker 1: else is like, you were screaming the whole time, you
- 17:54Speaker 1: didn't even see his face. At this point, Lane walks in.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure some of these girls were, you know,
- 18:00Speaker 1: the girls who were with Lane at the club, but
- 18:03Speaker 1: I couldn't tell just from their voices. Unfortunately, anyway, now
- 18:06Speaker 1: we can see that Judy is talking and she's like,
- 18:09Speaker 1: I saw his feet. All the girls laugh. Alice looks
- 18:13Speaker 1: over and sees Lane walking to her desk, not to
- 18:16Speaker 1: the rest of the group, and Raka, you know, the
- 18:19Speaker 1: third girl is like, admitted you were too scared to
- 18:22Speaker 1: look at the blood. Everyone is still kind of laughing
- 18:25Speaker 1: at this, which what and Alice says Lane. Laane looks
- 18:30Speaker 1: over and Judy waves and is like, did you get
- 18:32Speaker 1: in trouble Lane? Raka says, It's not like it was
- 18:35Speaker 1: our Faultchery. Alice is like, excuse me, and it looks
- 18:39Speaker 1: like she's trying to leave the group, or at least
- 18:41Speaker 1: get closer to the outside so she can talk to
- 18:43Speaker 1: Lane or something. And Rika continues, I think Alice was
- 18:47Speaker 1: the closest to him, and everyone's like what. Someone else says,
- 18:51Speaker 1: really did blood spatter all over? And Alice is like, yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 2: What's going on.
- 18:58Speaker 1: We hear Judy I think, say, yeah, I was so
- 19:01Speaker 1: grossed out, and Rica's.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Like me too.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Lane is looking at Alice smiling for some reason, and
- 19:07Speaker 1: Alice smiles at Lane. I don't know what this was here.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I thought it was weird that they just smiled at
- 19:12Speaker 1: each other, Like, well, maybe they are like trauma bonded. Now,
- 19:16Speaker 1: you know, they both had a terrible experience together, so
- 19:19Speaker 1: now they're like friends or something.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Anyway, Now we see Lane sitting at I guess her desk,
- 19:26Speaker 1: just drawing a big scribbly circle or spiral in her notebook,
- 19:32Speaker 1: and we hear a man's voice say, but that's not all.
- 19:36Speaker 1: If you see the PUSHUK simply as an upgraded processor,
- 19:39Speaker 1: you lose sight of the whole picture. Oh okay, Lane
- 19:43Speaker 1: looks kind of stressed or sad, I can't really tell.
- 19:47Speaker 1: The voice continues. As a multipurpose information terminal novies have
- 19:51Speaker 1: come into use all over the world. The teacher is
- 19:54Speaker 1: not this dude, by the way, She's just writing on
- 19:57Speaker 1: the board. This is not good. The voice continues even
- 20:01Speaker 1: with grade school children. However, activity within the wired is
- 20:05Speaker 1: currently limited by machine the spiral in her notebook gets
- 20:09Speaker 1: like a translucent spinning spiral over it, like not one
- 20:13Speaker 1: that she drew.
- 20:14Speaker 2: It's just there.
- 20:16Speaker 1: The voice continues. The Pushueke can dramatically enhance the nobby
- 20:21Speaker 1: in ways not fully understood. Okay, I don't know what
- 20:24Speaker 1: up Bushoe k is. Actually looked it up just to
- 20:26Speaker 1: make sure I wasn't really stupid, and I only get
- 20:28Speaker 1: cereal experiments lane things in Google, so it's not something
- 20:33Speaker 1: that I was supposed to know. Now we hear a
- 20:35Speaker 1: girl's voice say, there was no reason for me to
- 20:37Speaker 1: stay in the real world any longer. Laine looks up
- 20:42Speaker 1: and over at the classroom door, which has a window
- 20:44Speaker 1: in it, and there's this girl standing on.
- 20:48Speaker 2: The other side.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I think she's kind of obscured by the glass, so
- 20:51Speaker 1: we don't have really any defined features, but I have
- 20:55Speaker 1: a feeling she's not alive, and we don't see her
- 20:57Speaker 1: talking by the way, we just see her face from
- 21:00Speaker 1: out this movie or anything. She says, it was only
- 21:03Speaker 1: holding me back in the real world. It no longer
- 21:06Speaker 1: mattered whether.
- 21:07Speaker 2: I was there or not.
- 21:08Speaker 1: When I realized that I was no longer afraid of
- 21:11Speaker 1: losing my body. Okay, so Lane finally starts reacting to
- 21:15Speaker 1: all of this, and she just kind of like looks
- 21:17Speaker 1: away and covers her ears and just begins to shake,
- 21:20Speaker 1: and the girl says.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Now I can be wherever I choose.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Lane closes her eyes tightly.
- 21:25Speaker 2: And then the man's voice says, who is Lane.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Lane's like what, I guess quietly because no one else
- 21:32Speaker 1: hears this, and she opens her eyes. We're zooming in
- 21:35Speaker 1: now on the spiral in her drawing, and the man says, again.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Who is Lane? Who is Lane? Who is Lane? Yeah?
- 21:43Speaker 1: Oh okay, this isn't going so well. Now we see
- 21:46Speaker 1: Alice standing by some lockers and the room is kind
- 21:50Speaker 1: of like orange yellow, so I think the sun is
- 21:53Speaker 1: going down, and she says, Raka, I think there's something
- 21:56Speaker 1: wrong with us. Ah, you think Judy and Rika are
- 22:00Speaker 1: also there with her by the lockers obviously, and she continues,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I mean last night, we saw someone die right in
- 22:07Speaker 1: front of us, and we're acting like it's something we
- 22:09Speaker 1: saw in a horror movie. Lane is also there, like
- 22:12Speaker 1: at her locker, kind of a little bit behind Alice,
- 22:15Speaker 1: so she's not in the conversation. And Raka says, I
- 22:18Speaker 1: know we were there last night and I know what
- 22:20Speaker 1: I saw, but it didn't seem real. It was kind
- 22:23Speaker 1: of like an out of body experience. Lane opens her locker.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Jerdy says it was like that for me too. Lane's
- 22:30Speaker 1: eyes widen. There's a Manila envelope laying on top of
- 22:34Speaker 1: her shoes. I think these lockers are like just shoe lockers,
- 22:37Speaker 1: because you know, you don't wear shoes inside buildings in Japan,
- 22:40Speaker 1: so I think they just have lockers for shoes. I
- 22:43Speaker 1: think I don't know anyway. We hear Reka say, you know,
- 22:46Speaker 1: maybe you should forget about it, Alice and not take
- 22:48Speaker 1: it so seriously. Alice is like, that's not what I mean.
- 22:53Speaker 1: It's just it's strange that we can't take it seriously
- 22:57Speaker 1: right Lane, She looks over it. Lane. Lane is taking
- 23:00Speaker 1: the envelope out of the locker, and she says, uh what.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Alice is like, what's that? Did you get a love letter?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Judy and Raka both like together at the same time,
- 23:12Speaker 1: say what no way. Lane puts it behind her back
- 23:15Speaker 1: and it's like it's not probably. Judy and Raka run
- 23:19Speaker 1: over to her, and Jerdy's like, let's see Riga reaches
- 23:22Speaker 1: for it, you know, behind her back and it's like,
- 23:24Speaker 1: come on, don't be a baby and grabs it. Yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 1: she's just great.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Alice is like, give back to her.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Raca is holding up the envelope and says, ah, a
- 23:32Speaker 1: Manila folder.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Huh.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Jerdy's like, is anything inside it? Leka empties it into
- 23:36Speaker 1: her hand and there is a small black box with
- 23:39Speaker 1: some sort of symbol on it, which, yeah, I'll just
- 23:42Speaker 1: say that that's what it is and I'll clarify later.
- 23:44Speaker 1: So Raca's like, what is it? Lane shakes her head
- 23:48Speaker 1: like she doesn't know, and then Rica just kind of
- 23:50Speaker 1: hands it back to Lane and is like, talk about boring.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Jerny says, I knew it wasn't anything good. You guys
- 23:56Speaker 1: are just fucking great, great people. We cut to a
- 24:00Speaker 1: whitish gray sky with power lines buzzing on it. Leane
- 24:04Speaker 1: is walking I guess probably home. She stops and reaches
- 24:07Speaker 1: in her pocket and takes out the box. She stares
- 24:10Speaker 1: at it for a minute and then starts walking again,
- 24:13Speaker 1: and then stops again. We cut to a close up
- 24:15Speaker 1: of her mouth. She says, push, Uke, is that what
- 24:18Speaker 1: it is? We pull out so we see her full
- 24:21Speaker 1: face and shoulders and she just stares blankly and then
- 24:26Speaker 1: we fade to black. Now we fade into a dark
- 24:29Speaker 1: blue sky with bright green things on it behind the
- 24:35Speaker 1: power lines. Maybe the bright green is like clouds. I
- 24:38Speaker 1: don't know why it's dark blue with greenish clouds on it.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I don't understand. So we're like panning kind of to
- 24:45Speaker 1: the right, you know, with power lines and stuff, and
- 24:49Speaker 1: bright red kind of pulses on the sky a bunch
- 24:52Speaker 1: of times and just kind of like blips out a bunch.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I don't know anyway, we hear a woman's voice say,
- 24:59Speaker 1: it's it's not a secure program. Some hacker got into
- 25:02Speaker 1: my voicemail this morning. Then a man says, seeing as
- 25:05Speaker 1: how there was no pertinent information in the research we
- 25:07Speaker 1: received from your office, we're currently discussing how to handle it.
- 25:11Speaker 1: We now cut to a bright street lights and we
- 25:14Speaker 1: hear another woman say, I love kissing. Just kissing is
- 25:18Speaker 1: enough to make me happy. Oh that's so nice for you.
- 25:21Speaker 2: You're weirdo.
- 25:22Speaker 1: We now see lane stuffed animals bathed in like the
- 25:25Speaker 1: blue light from the street light outside, and another man's like,
- 25:30Speaker 1: that kid pulled some stupid stune while he was on
- 25:32Speaker 1: Excel at right, looks like the black market suppliers freaking out,
- 25:36Speaker 1: just can't find it anywhere. Now, now we are looking
- 25:39Speaker 1: at a white spiral on black with like green and
- 25:43Speaker 1: pink squiggly lions coming out of it. It's kind of
- 25:45Speaker 1: moving and stuff, and we're kind of on that for
- 25:47Speaker 1: a long time, and we hear a man say, rumor
- 25:50Speaker 1: has it that the pushu ke chip is mass produced
- 25:53Speaker 1: in factories in Taiwan. They'll tell you was designed by
- 25:55Speaker 1: a group of renegades called the Knights. There are a
- 25:58Speaker 1: lot of urban legends surrounding the why, but I'm not
- 26:00Speaker 1: even sure if the Knights really exist. A woman says,
- 26:04Speaker 1: it feels so good when you die.
- 26:06Speaker 2: What is happening?
- 26:07Speaker 1: Okay? Lne is just staring at her computer screen. And
- 26:10Speaker 1: then we go back to this spiral again, and we
- 26:14Speaker 1: hear a man say, I feel like I'm being accelerated.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Sure, sure you do.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Now. A woman says, oh no, there's someone in my room.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Can't you see there's a little person like a kid,
- 26:25Speaker 1: wearing red and green striped clothes. I can't move in
- 26:28Speaker 1: my bed. He's standing at my door. I can feel
- 26:31Speaker 1: it watching me.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Someone help me.
- 26:34Speaker 1: We see the main computer screen now for some reason,
- 26:37Speaker 1: and another woman says, I have a picture of you
- 26:40Speaker 1: and your lover. I just want to do business. What
- 26:42Speaker 1: do you say If you don't buy it, I'll send
- 26:45Speaker 1: this jpeg to your company server. You'll be famous all
- 26:48Speaker 1: over the wired h And now another woman says, Lane,
- 26:53Speaker 1: why don't you come here? What is going on? We
- 26:56Speaker 1: now see Lane looking at that box in her hand.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I think it's a box and she kind of closes
- 27:04Speaker 1: her fingers around it, and the computer beeps and she
- 27:07Speaker 1: looks over. It was really weird because through this whole
- 27:09Speaker 1: scene with everybody talking, there's like music playing, and I
- 27:12Speaker 1: like the music. It's kind of guitary and weird. But
- 27:15Speaker 1: as soon as NAVI beeps, it stops, and I almost
- 27:19Speaker 1: feel like she had music playing, but I don't know.
- 27:21Speaker 2: It was really weird.
- 27:23Speaker 1: So anyway, Navi says, hello Lane, Lane has new mail.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah, maybe it's your dead friend. Lane's like Navi.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Then we hear her dad say, how's it going Lane?
- 27:33Speaker 1: Lane gasps and turns and sees her dad standing in
- 27:35Speaker 1: the doorway, and her dad says, so have you gotten
- 27:38Speaker 1: used to your new navy yet? He flips on the
- 27:40Speaker 1: lights because they were off because she's just sitting in
- 27:42Speaker 1: the dark with her computer as you do. Lane stands,
- 27:45Speaker 1: and her dad is like, is something wrong. She walks
- 27:48Speaker 1: like halfway across the room and holds out her hand
- 27:51Speaker 1: with the something in it box. I think it might
- 27:54Speaker 1: be a chip in it and says do you know
- 27:57Speaker 1: what this is? Her dad is weirdly quiet for a
- 28:00Speaker 1: second and then says, I have no idea and turns
- 28:03Speaker 1: to leave. Lane's like, I thought you'd know. Her dad
- 28:08Speaker 1: stops in the doorway but doesn't turn around, and Lane says,
- 28:12Speaker 1: I thought you might know, dad. Her Dad's like I said,
- 28:15Speaker 1: I don't know, just closes the door behind him.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Lane looks kind of sad and turns around and looks
- 28:26Speaker 1: back at the computer. We now see the bottom of
- 28:28Speaker 1: a gate closing. Lane walks out of the gate, I
- 28:32Speaker 1: guess it's like the house feet and onto the sidewalk
- 28:35Speaker 1: and gasps that black car is still there or there again?
- 28:39Speaker 1: And now we see two like laser points in the
- 28:42Speaker 1: front windshield. That's all we can see, I mean.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Car that is.
- 28:46Speaker 1: She just runs past it like wincing, and the lasers
- 28:50Speaker 1: like follow her as she does. Yay. We cut to
- 28:54Speaker 1: a crosswalk light turning green cars or stops at the light.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Lane is crossing the streets and in front of her
- 29:00Speaker 1: is the Siberia Building. No, don't go back there. Now
- 29:04Speaker 1: we see the stairwell and Lane passes a couple that's
- 29:08Speaker 1: just making out on the stairs, like you do. You
- 29:10Speaker 1: really should not just make out in the middle of
- 29:12Speaker 1: the stairs. It's rude. And then she stands in front
- 29:16Speaker 1: of that red door to I guess Siberia, and we
- 29:19Speaker 1: hear some background chatter. I think it might be from
- 29:21Speaker 1: the couple that's on the stairs kissing, but I wasn't sure.
- 29:24Speaker 1: A man says, come on, why not, and someone else
- 29:27Speaker 1: says no, and someone else says why not, and then
- 29:31Speaker 1: the person says, I can't. I think it's that couple.
- 29:33Speaker 1: I didn't understand. I'm sorry, guys. Lane turns away from
- 29:36Speaker 1: the door, and she looks back up at the stairs.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Maybe she's looking at that couple, And then she turns
- 29:41Speaker 1: back to the door again determined, she opens it. We
- 29:45Speaker 1: now see her walking through the club looking around, and
- 29:49Speaker 1: some guy just like puts her hand on her shoulder
- 29:51Speaker 1: from behind her and says, Lane, he's smoking. He has
- 29:55Speaker 1: sunglasses and he's wearing a beanie and a gold chain
- 29:58Speaker 1: and he continues, where you been late? Haven't seen you around?
- 30:01Speaker 1: Everyone's been looking for you. Laane turns towards him and
- 30:05Speaker 1: says I. The guy kind of cuts her off, and
- 30:07Speaker 1: it's like, oh, you're really going for that little schoolgirl.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Look huh. Wayne doesn't say anything because she's a little schoolgirl.
- 30:14Speaker 1: And the guy leans over and is like, how about
- 30:17Speaker 1: another rave.
- 30:19Speaker 2: I'll leave the planning to you, and.
- 30:21Speaker 1: He just walks away. He didn't even get a yes
- 30:23Speaker 1: or a no. That's not how you have a conversation
- 30:25Speaker 1: with someone. Layne watches as he walks off, and then
- 30:29Speaker 1: she looks over and sees those three kids who pushed
- 30:32Speaker 1: past her in the stairwell the other day, sitting at
- 30:35Speaker 1: a table. She starts to walk towards them, and we're
- 30:38Speaker 1: hearing the conversation between them, and the one boy wearing
- 30:41Speaker 1: a green hoodie says, why.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Are you trying to act so tough?
- 30:44Speaker 1: The other boy, who's wearing a black shirt, is like,
- 30:46Speaker 1: look who's talking.
- 30:47Speaker 2: They all laugh. Laane says, do you know what this is?
- 30:51Speaker 1: They all look up at her, and the boy with
- 30:54Speaker 1: the green hoodie leans over the table and is like,
- 30:56Speaker 1: what okay, Now I'm getting a better look at it.
- 31:00Speaker 1: It's not a box. The top is what I thought
- 31:03Speaker 1: was like a design is actually raised. I think it's
- 31:06Speaker 1: supposed to be some sort of chip, like a computer chip,
- 31:08Speaker 1: but it's just been drawn inconsistently, so I was very confused. Thanks,
- 31:14Speaker 1: The boy continues, that's a real pashu ke, isn't it.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yes.
- 31:18Speaker 1: The other two kids are like, huh. The second boy
- 31:21Speaker 1: says for real. The girl's like, no way, I've never
- 31:24Speaker 1: seen one before. The second boy's like, where'd you get it?
- 31:28Speaker 1: Lane says, what does it do? The first boy says,
- 31:32Speaker 1: you don't know. He pulls out something that looks like
- 31:35Speaker 1: a gun, but not really a gun. Like it has
- 31:38Speaker 1: like a handle like a gun, and then it's got
- 31:39Speaker 1: a thing on it almost looks like a tag gun
- 31:42Speaker 1: that you put like those ink tags on at retail,
- 31:46Speaker 1: or like a stable gun. I don't know what it is.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Kind of looks like a gun but not a gun.
- 31:49Speaker 1: And he says, if I install that thing in here,
- 31:52Speaker 1: I kind have full access to the wired and do
- 31:54Speaker 1: whatever I want. Lane's like, I still don't understand how.
- 31:58Speaker 2: To use it.
- 31:59Speaker 1: The girls says, you don't talk about Lane. She kind
- 32:03Speaker 1: of giggles. Hey, can I buy it from you? Can
- 32:05Speaker 1: I The first boy's like, idiot, you can't buy something
- 32:09Speaker 1: like that. I think you can probably, And then to Lane,
- 32:13Speaker 1: he's like, what kind of knobby do you have? Lane's like,
- 32:16Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I think it's a tachibana. I think
- 32:20Speaker 1: it's the newest model.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Both of the boys say what awesome.
- 32:24Speaker 1: The first boy's like, so it's new. I mean you
- 32:27Speaker 1: haven't gotten inside of it yet. Lane shakes her head.
- 32:30Speaker 2: No.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Second boy's like, wow, are you in eighth grade?
- 32:33Speaker 2: Ninth?
- 32:34Speaker 1: Lane's like eighth okay, so she is thirteen or fourteen?
- 32:38Speaker 1: Good to know, and these kids look younger, like maybe
- 32:40Speaker 1: they were in sixth grade. I don't know why they
- 32:42Speaker 1: were at a club, but whatever. The second boy continues,
- 32:45Speaker 1: So that means you've taken basic information in school right
- 32:48Speaker 1: for some reason. While Lane and the second boy we're talking,
- 32:52Speaker 1: we're kind of like focused in on the first boy,
- 32:55Speaker 1: like staring at Lane and anyway, the second boy continues,
- 32:59Speaker 1: so you should know when Nabby's basic motherboard layout, that
- 33:02Speaker 1: first boy looks real worried. Second boy continues, it's right
- 33:06Speaker 1: there in the textbook. Yeah, the first boy is clearly
- 33:09Speaker 1: suspicious of her. Second boy continues, it intercepts original online
- 33:13Speaker 1: information and automatically manipulates it on its own. Using it
- 33:17Speaker 1: is almost as easy as building a model kit. He
- 33:20Speaker 1: leans in just avoids static electricity. Lane smiles slightly and
- 33:26Speaker 1: says oh thanks and turns to leave. We hear the
- 33:29Speaker 1: first boy say, hold on, information isn't free, you know,
- 33:33Speaker 1: it doesn't matter if it's in the real world or
- 33:35Speaker 1: the wired. The second boy's like, how much should we charge?
- 33:38Speaker 1: Tato Lane sort of sighs and looks worried, and Taro,
- 33:42Speaker 1: the kid in the green hoodies like you're Lane, aren't you?
- 33:46Speaker 2: Huh? Lane's like what? Yeah? Tato continues, I.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Remember seeing you once you were in the wired. Lane blinks,
- 33:55Speaker 1: you saw me logged on the wired. Tato's like, you
- 34:00Speaker 1: were different, nothing like the way you seem now. The
- 34:03Speaker 1: lights shift positions because they're kind of like spotlights, and
- 34:06Speaker 1: now they are just bathed in blue lights, and Toato continues,
- 34:11Speaker 1: there's nothing unusual about taking on a different personality in
- 34:14Speaker 1: the wired.
- 34:15Speaker 2: It's pretty much.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Expected, but yours are like total opposites. The girl's like,
- 34:19Speaker 1: no way. The light normalizes again, and Toto continues, weren't
- 34:24Speaker 1: you also in the club at the same time those
- 34:26Speaker 1: stupid shootings happened. What are you planning to do now?
- 34:30Speaker 2: Lane's like, what do you want me to do for you?
- 34:33Speaker 1: Toto smiles go on a date with me?
- 34:36Speaker 2: Fuck dude.
- 34:37Speaker 1: The girl's like idiot, Toto says, but not like you
- 34:41Speaker 1: are now I want the wild Lane. Lane looks pissed. Yeah,
- 34:46Speaker 1: Toto's like, I'm only kidding, but hey, if you ever
- 34:49Speaker 1: feel like going out sometime, Girl's like, what's your problem?
- 34:53Speaker 1: The second boy says, chill out. Toto's like, forget about it,
- 34:56Speaker 1: you're just jealous. He starts to walk away, and the
- 35:00Speaker 1: girls like jealous jealous hunh h, and then she also leaves.
- 35:04Speaker 1: I think Lane walks away too, because why would you
- 35:09Speaker 1: stay when they all walked away. Then we cut to
- 35:11Speaker 1: the disco ball and fade out. We pan down from
- 35:15Speaker 1: a bright yellowy orange sky with power lines in it
- 35:19Speaker 1: to that black car still parked there, and Lane's sister, Mika,
- 35:25Speaker 1: I believe, is walking up the hill and she passes
- 35:29Speaker 1: the car and turns at the front of her steps
- 35:33Speaker 1: and she's like, can I help you? Standing in front
- 35:37Speaker 1: of her door are these two black silhouettes kind of
- 35:41Speaker 1: like hidden by the red blotchy shadows, but they look
- 35:45Speaker 1: really fucking imposing, And Mika says, are you here to
- 35:50Speaker 1: see someone? They're just silence. Who are you looking for?
- 35:55Speaker 1: One of them turns and Mega gasps the sky has
- 36:00Speaker 1: he's like super weird goggles on, like one is bigger
- 36:03Speaker 1: than the other. And I don't know what's going on,
- 36:06Speaker 1: Like I assume one of them is like doing like
- 36:08Speaker 1: infrared and the other one's doing some other thing. I
- 36:11Speaker 1: don't know what's happening, but it's really weird. It does
- 36:14Speaker 1: not look normal. And in the middle of the goggles
- 36:17Speaker 1: is like one of those laser sights. This is weird,
- 36:20Speaker 1: and it's the middle of the day, by the way,
- 36:21Speaker 1: Like I said, anyway, he says, just keep walking and
- 36:24Speaker 1: don't look back.
- 36:26Speaker 2: You never saw us, understand.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Because, like, uh what.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I'll call the police.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Who the hell are you? The other guy turns and
- 36:34Speaker 1: he has the same weird goggles on, but he's like
- 36:37Speaker 1: way taller, and he says, go for it.
- 36:39Speaker 2: But what could you possibly tell them when we're not
- 36:42Speaker 2: even here?
- 36:43Speaker 1: Uh? I think you are there, but I'm not even
- 36:46Speaker 1: sure anymore. The shorter guy starts to walk down towards Mika,
- 36:51Speaker 1: and MICA's like stop. Actually, they're both walking towards her,
- 36:55Speaker 1: and then they just passer by, and Mike us like
- 37:00Speaker 1: what We cut to a very bright light fixture. It's
- 37:04Speaker 1: like so bright it's like blowing out the whole picture,
- 37:06Speaker 1: and we hear water running in the background, and we
- 37:09Speaker 1: hear Mika saying, Mom, if they show up again, call
- 37:13Speaker 1: the cops. We're now seeing the hallway in Lane's house,
- 37:17Speaker 1: and I guess that light that we were seeing is
- 37:20Speaker 1: like hanging on the wall, you know, one of those
- 37:21Speaker 1: walsconce lights or whatever the hell they're called. Mika continues,
- 37:25Speaker 1: are you listening, Mom? What the fuck is going on?
- 37:29Speaker 1: We see Mika now walk out of what I think
- 37:32Speaker 1: was probably the kitchen into the hall and she's like, man,
- 37:35Speaker 1: she walks upstairs. Upstairs. Now she walks down the hall
- 37:39Speaker 1: and then stops at a partially cracked door. The hallway
- 37:44Speaker 1: is dark, it's always dark for some reason. You guys
- 37:46Speaker 1: probably have a light, you could use it. But there's
- 37:48Speaker 1: light streaming out of the crack door. And she looks
- 37:52Speaker 1: inside and pushes it open and says, what are you doing?
- 37:55Speaker 2: Lane?
- 37:56Speaker 1: Lane is sitting on the floor with her computer like
- 37:59Speaker 1: open and partially disassembled in front of her maybe, and
- 38:02Speaker 1: she's like doing stuff in there. And also she is
- 38:05Speaker 1: wearing like maybe a undershirt, like it's got little spaghetti
- 38:10Speaker 1: straps and it's white. And I don't even think she
- 38:15Speaker 1: has pants on. Maybe it's hard to tell. She's sitting
- 38:17Speaker 1: down in these computer parts and she just doesn't answer Mika.
- 38:21Speaker 1: She just keeps doing her thing. Mika is quiet for
- 38:25Speaker 1: a second, and she's obviously not having a great day,
- 38:27Speaker 1: and again says, what are you doing? Are you dressed
- 38:30Speaker 1: like that? Lane's like, oh, for static electricity? She has
- 38:35Speaker 1: a screwdriver in her mouth, by the way, she continues,
- 38:38Speaker 1: They say, the only way to prevent it is to
- 38:40Speaker 1: take off your clothes, because like you gotta be kidding.
- 38:45Speaker 1: We get this weird, and I don't know what this
- 38:47Speaker 1: is supposed to be. It's like staggered zoom in on Lane,
- 38:50Speaker 1: and she suddenly like sits up straight and smiles like
- 38:53Speaker 1: really brightly and says welcome home on e Chhan to
- 38:57Speaker 1: be continued, and then we go the ending and that's it. Yay, okay,
- 39:03Speaker 1: closing bots yay. What the hell is going on? So
- 39:08Speaker 1: there are guys in a black car with laser sights
- 39:12Speaker 1: on their head and goggles, walking to the door, pretending
- 39:15Speaker 1: they're not there. What are they doing? What's going on?
- 39:18Speaker 1: What's going on with Lane's family? Okay, so now from
- 39:22Speaker 1: what we've seen in this episode, Mika seems pretty normal.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Last episode, I was thinking something was fucking weird with her,
- 39:28Speaker 1: but she is responding to stimuli pretty normally, like these
- 39:30Speaker 1: guys are scary. She threatens to call the police. She's
- 39:33Speaker 1: talking to her mom and she's like, we should call
- 39:35Speaker 1: the police next time, but Lane's mom is like not
- 39:37Speaker 1: even responding to her while she says this. Also, at
- 39:40Speaker 1: least half of the times we've seen Lane's mom, she's
- 39:43Speaker 1: at the kitchen sink washing things. I get that you
- 39:46Speaker 1: have a lot of plates to wash if you have
- 39:47Speaker 1: a family, and it sounds like they probably don't have
- 39:49Speaker 1: a dishwasher, but like literally, it seems like that's all
- 39:52Speaker 1: she does. And what the fuck? Why aren't you responding
- 39:55Speaker 1: to your kids?
- 39:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 39:57Speaker 1: She almost reads like she's like not a real person,
- 39:59Speaker 1: like she's not really there half the time. But she
- 40:03Speaker 1: did respond to Lane when Lane was about to tell
- 40:05Speaker 1: her about what happened to the club and backed off,
- 40:09Speaker 1: so I don't know. I don't know what's going on,
- 40:12Speaker 1: but I don't know, Like what else can I say
- 40:15Speaker 1: about this episode? I don't know what's happening. Lane is
- 40:17Speaker 1: like hearing voices now, like lots of voices or is
- 40:20Speaker 1: she I was confused So in the part where like
- 40:23Speaker 1: there were all those voices like talking, was that in
- 40:25Speaker 1: her head? Or was she like on a message board
- 40:28Speaker 1: because I didn't seem em look like a message board,
- 40:30Speaker 1: but I'm kind of thinking that she was like online,
- 40:32Speaker 1: like reading through like comments and shit, because it was
- 40:35Speaker 1: so disorganized where the woman is like I like kissing,
- 40:38Speaker 1: and this woman's like I'm seeing a thing and I
- 40:40Speaker 1: can't move because I probably have sleep paralysis. Like there's
- 40:42Speaker 1: so much going on. It just sounds like maybe it's
- 40:44Speaker 1: Reddit or something, but like I don't know some of
- 40:49Speaker 1: it's in her head obviously, cause it's happening when she's
- 40:51Speaker 1: in school. There's just some guy telling her about paschukey chips,
- 40:55Speaker 1: which I don't know what they are, and there's that
- 40:57Speaker 1: girl in the hallway telling her about how good it
- 41:00Speaker 1: is to be dead, Like what the fuck is going on?
- 41:04Speaker 1: Is she okay? Cause I don't think she's okay. Because
- 41:06Speaker 1: all of a sudden, she's like just knows how to
- 41:09Speaker 1: like disassemble a computer and shit, I mean, you can
- 41:12Speaker 1: look things up, and she does want to see what
- 41:14Speaker 1: she can do with this pashuk or whatever it is.
- 41:16Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, and why are we letting like probably
- 41:20Speaker 1: sixth graders go into a club, Like what is happening here? Oh?
- 41:25Speaker 2: Right?
- 41:25Speaker 1: And then there's the whole thing with her dad like
- 41:27Speaker 1: being super weird when she showed him that pashu ke,
- 41:30Speaker 1: which means he absolutely knows what it is and it
- 41:33Speaker 1: freaked him out, so like, what what's happening?
- 41:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah?
- 41:39Speaker 1: And then of course there's the whole thing with her
- 41:41Speaker 1: friends just acting like this really traumatic shooting that they
- 41:45Speaker 1: all saw was like.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Not a big deal.
- 41:47Speaker 1: And I get it they may have kind of dissociated
- 41:50Speaker 1: or this is probably some part of trauma response the
- 41:53Speaker 1: way that they're acting, but it's odd. And finally, and
- 41:58Speaker 1: to me, maybe the most concerning, where the fuck was
- 42:00Speaker 1: her family when she got home? Like nobody was home
- 42:04Speaker 1: and they didn't leave a note or anything. I mean,
- 42:07Speaker 1: because she is a cell phone, I don't know if
- 42:09Speaker 1: her family all had cell phones, like if she could
- 42:10Speaker 1: have called them and checked but it's just weird. There's
- 42:15Speaker 1: just no one there, and then the next morning her
- 42:17Speaker 1: mom's just there like nothing happened. You don't think to
- 42:19Speaker 1: tell your daughter that you're going out, because if they
- 42:22Speaker 1: had tried to, they would have seen that she wasn't there,
- 42:25Speaker 1: and that probably would have been a big deal.
- 42:27Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I feel like a lot of shit is happening and
- 42:31Speaker 1: it's all very terrible. So yeah, that's that's what I got.
- 42:36Speaker 2: I think. I think that's it.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's a bunch of stuff. So we'll see
- 42:41Speaker 1: where this all goes. I don't think it's gonna go
- 42:43Speaker 1: somewhere good, but it could, you know. I mean I
- 42:47Speaker 1: might know since I've watched it, but it has been
- 42:50Speaker 1: a while and I don't remember it very well. So yeah,
- 42:54Speaker 1: that's anyway. I think that's it for me. I'm gonna
- 42:57Speaker 1: go do things because I gotta go to the inspection soon,
- 43:02Speaker 1: I guess, and it's like forty minutes away, so I
- 43:04Speaker 1: gotta get ready for it. So I hope you have
- 43:06Speaker 1: a really good whatever. Please please have a good whatever
- 43:10Speaker 1: for me if possible. If not, it's okay. You don't
- 43:13Speaker 1: have to do your best. Yeah, i'll see you next time.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I assuming that's you know. The world continues on later
- 43:23Speaker 1: webs
