- 1:11Let's do it. Let's let's dive right into our
- 1:14recap. I like, didn't even prep in any
- 1:17way shape or do I ever prep? I don't.
- 1:20Know do I ever come? Well, Season 6.
- 1:27Yeah. What I OK, this is how much I
- 1:29didn't prep. When did we start season 6?
- 1:33When? How long have we been doing this
- 1:36now? That's a good question.
- 1:38This season I'm like literally going to look at my pockets.
- 1:44I don't know. I feel like in my head this
- 1:50season lasted no time at all and has gone on forever so.
- 1:55Right. I feel like because it feels
- 2:00like it's been so short, because I feel like usually we have all
- 2:04the guests set up before we start and this time they've
- 2:11we've had. So I feel like this season we've
- 2:19had 12 guests, 12. Yeah, 12.
- 2:24And yeah, but I feel like I'm like, are we sure it's not just
- 2:28five? Like I know I'm like who even?
- 2:32Yeah. But I guess that's.
- 2:35Yeah, I think we started like at the school year.
- 2:38Let's see. Also had over 100 episodes.
- 2:47Oh, ready? Oh my God.
- 2:50Wow. Go, team go.
- 2:52Isn't that crazy? OK, so we started, yeah, mid
- 2:55August with Erica Breen. OK with Erica Breen, you know
- 3:01it's been OK. This makes sense why it feels
- 3:04like forever and no time at all because Skyler started like big
- 3:07kids school. I was just going.
- 3:10To say. So before we started or when we
- 3:14were starting Season 6, you were starting big school for Skyler.
- 3:21So how have you been? How is it?
- 3:24The transition was rough but now it's good.
- 3:28Now that she like knows who her friends are she feels
- 3:31comfortable with her teacher. But the transition of like,
- 3:36because they go, well, Frankie's still there.
- 3:38But like, before big kids school, they did a Co-op and
- 3:43that meant I was there once a week with them.
- 3:46I could go in the classroom whenever I wanted.
- 3:48Like I was so much more involved.
- 3:51Right. And there was no time to prep
- 3:55her for big kids school because we found out the Friday before
- 3:59it started. Oh.
- 4:00My God. That she got in and the plan
- 4:03before that was to just home school.
- 4:07So there was no like transitioning her from you're
- 4:12going to see mommy with you at school too.
- 4:14Now you're going to be there longer and I'm not even allowed
- 4:17on the campus. Like I can't go to her
- 4:19classroom. I can't do anything so.
- 4:22That's rough. Yeah, the first now.
- 4:24She's doing OK, she's good. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:27We just had her first parent teacher conference and I just
- 4:31was like, I've never been more proud of my whole life.
- 4:34Like her notes from her teacher was like, she's very kind
- 4:37hearted. She gets along with everyone,
- 4:40She tries her best. Like all the things you want to
- 4:43hear. And I was like, OK, now is she
- 4:47now? Is it kindergarten or TK?
- 4:49No, she's kinder because. Like she can't possibly be in
- 4:53kindergarten. I know saying, well, yeah,
- 4:57because she is a really young kindergartner.
- 5:01So she she turned 5, she turned 5 August 10th and she started
- 5:07school August 13th. So she is the baby in her
- 5:13kindergarten class. Like all of her friends right
- 5:15now are turning 6. Or all of her classmates, I
- 5:18don't know. But that's, you know, you always
- 5:21hear like good, like I feel like it's better to be the younger.
- 5:26I isn't it usually like for girls it's kind of better to be
- 5:29the younger and then for boys it might be.
- 5:32Better to be the older. I don't.
- 5:34I don't know, I feel like yes, that's the boys and girls thing.
- 5:39Sounds right to me. If Skyler like in any way, I
- 5:46don't know. She's very smart and she really
- 5:49does not have an issue keeping up.
- 5:51But if she had I would have had no issues keeping her back and
- 5:56doing the 2K or the 2K the TK class but.
- 6:00Yeah. It was time she was bored at her
- 6:03little preschool like she was ready.
- 6:06She all summer long was like, when are you teaching me how to
- 6:09read? She was becoming ATA.
- 6:11Exactly. Help.
- 6:15Can I do this and then Frankie is still?
- 6:18Yeah, Frankie's still a Co-op. And 'cause they're two different
- 6:22places though, how is that? I'm always curious.
- 6:25Like how that is to have people at or people have kids too.
- 6:29Have people everywhere. It's OK.
- 6:33It's not my favorite, but it's not the end of the world.
- 6:36It's just like, I have this 90 minute break I'm forced to take
- 6:43in the middle of every day because I pick him up at 12:30
- 6:48and he still really needs a nap, but there's no time to bring him
- 6:52home and like lay him down for a nap.
- 6:53So I let him play at his school for a little with his friends
- 6:57and then drive him around in the hopes that he falls asleep in
- 6:59the car. And then we go sit and wait in
- 7:02Skyler's carpool line so I can pick her up at 2:00.
- 7:05So like from 12:00 to 2:15-ish I'm just driving around, just
- 7:12bopping and weaving in my car. So now this will only be They'll
- 7:18only be at the two different schools for the rest of.
- 7:21Yeah, Frankie can or not can do TK school.
- 7:24Year. Yeah, the school year.
- 7:26So he'll do TK hopefully. I mean I would assume he's going
- 7:31to be at Chime with Sky, but you never know.
- 7:34Is the school like TK to fit like?
- 7:388th to 8th grade yeah, and I love it I.
- 7:43Is it a private or public? It's a charter school chime
- 7:47charter in Woodland Hills if anybody's interested.
- 7:49I really love it a lot. Yeah.
- 7:54I just I don't know the the setup of it is so lovely.
- 7:58Oh, OK, so I'm going to be a dumb, you know, not a dummy.
- 8:01I'm going to. I'm not going to have a lot of
- 8:03answers, but I'll try do. You pay for Charter.
- 8:06School. No.
- 8:07No. We don't.
- 8:08OK. So it is like a public school,
- 8:10but but it's not like the neighborhood district, right?
- 8:14Right, right. And the from my understanding is
- 8:17charters are started by a group of parents, typically people who
- 8:23want to like pick a thing to be their focus.
- 8:28And so like chimes big thing is that they're all about
- 8:32inclusivity in the classroom. So like Skyler has a non verbal
- 8:36little girl in her classroom and like they just learn all along
- 8:40together. And I just think it's so
- 8:42beautiful. It's so lovely.
- 8:45Like Skyler and Frankie now are exposed to so many different
- 8:49types of kids and it doesn't faze them at all.
- 8:52Like they just are. I just, yeah, it's really
- 8:57special. It's really special.
- 9:00And I yeah. We toured her May May school
- 9:04that she'll go in fall 2026, which were.
- 9:08Gotta get started, you know. Yeah, well, I'm so paranoid
- 9:12because I watch, which is I shouldn't be because like, if
- 9:15it's her, she's going to go to if we're still going to be where
- 9:19we live now and it's her district, it's her assigned
- 9:23school and but I so it will be fine that she'll like she'll get
- 9:28in and all of that. But I watched there was a
- 9:32documentary years ago called The Lottery which was about like
- 9:37getting kids into. Their yes, yes, yes.
- 9:41It's has clearly scarred me because I have called the school
- 9:44and been like how will I know that?
- 9:46Like how like can I, can I sign her up?
- 9:49And they're like, you can't sign up until the spring and they're
- 9:52like, but there is paperwork if you want to do that.
- 9:55And I was like, can I get that? And they're like, that's not
- 9:57until next year. Like there's so many things that
- 9:59I'm trying to do ahead of time. And they're like, if it's her
- 10:02assigned school, she will get in.
- 10:04And I was like, what if there's 1004 year olds that are trying
- 10:09to get in and they're like, that's our problem.
- 10:12They're like, that's not going to happen.
- 10:14But. But that's like on the district,
- 10:18they would have to add a school or add and I'm like, OK, OK.
- 10:23But the school was very sweet and very kind and similar.
- 10:27Like you were saying there. They were very like talking
- 10:31about how they, I can't think of the wording that they use, but
- 10:37they want to honor everyone's like where they come from.
- 10:44And so if people are speaking, if people come in speaking
- 10:48another language that they're or like have different wording for
- 10:53things where they're like, no, that's not how we say it.
- 10:56We talk like this or we do this and that.
- 10:58So they're very like very inclusive as well.
- 11:02And like the gifted program things like nobody, they're all
- 11:09together. Like nobody knows that
- 11:11somebody's in a gifted program or somebody's not.
- 11:14And I'm like, that was important to Preston because he was like,
- 11:17I always remember that like people would like go to a
- 11:22different thing. And it was like, oh, these are
- 11:24like the kids who need help or like I'm the smart one.
- 11:27Like which you never want for kids to be like oh I'm the dumb
- 11:32one or I'm the smart. One.
- 11:34Yeah, right. There's no reason for anybody to
- 11:36have. Yeah.
- 11:38But I'm like, I don't know if there's something wrong with me
- 11:42but. There's something wrong with all
- 11:45of us girls. Oh.
- 11:46My God, I am so emotional like all the time where we went to
- 11:52this school and this 5th grade 5th grader because it would be
- 11:56TK to five to 5th and it was she was like the president of the
- 12:02school or something and she was like, This is why I like this
- 12:05school and like I was fully tearing up and my.
- 12:09God. Shouldn't be allowed to be in
- 12:12public. And I was like, he's not even
- 12:15going yet. Yeah, I was like, he's talking.
- 12:19And then like yesterday teaching, I had a yada rocks in
- 12:25a day. We did a wicked camp.
- 12:27So I had 10 little like 5 year olds, like 5 to 7 year olds.
- 12:31And we did a wicked like concert performance thing.
- 12:35And they started, I started doing defying gravity with them
- 12:39during their performance and I'm in the back kind of like doing
- 12:42it with them for them. And I'm like.
- 12:45Oh my God, me. And I have to talk to the
- 12:48parents afterwards. So I go back on the stage and
- 12:51I'm like, you guys, your kids. And I was like, these aren't my
- 12:55kids. And I was like, oh, and I was
- 12:57like, I'm sorry. But I'm like, oh man, it really
- 13:02gets me. Yeah, yeah, dude, the school
- 13:06thing is, is crazy to me because it it came, it came fast.
- 13:13Like so fast. Well.
- 13:14Especially for. You I mean really fast, like
- 13:18there was no transitioning Skyler, but that also meant like
- 13:20there was no time for me to process it either.
- 13:24So like helping her through it while also feeling really like,
- 13:27sad myself and just, you know. 'Cause you hadn't been without
- 13:33her. No, no, I mean, this is like
- 13:37this year is the first time and it's not even a lot like I get
- 13:41my little 3 hour chunk every day, right?
- 13:44But like, that's the first time. Oh, without both of them.
- 13:48Meaning, yeah. Meaning they're both out.
- 13:50Yeah. And I have time to myself that
- 13:53I'm just like sitting here, like working as much as I can in
- 13:56three hours. No time.
- 13:59Really, it's no, it's no time at all.
- 14:02It's also not a break like you think or people are always like,
- 14:05oh, you get to be free or whatever for when they're in
- 14:11school. And I'm like, no, I mean, I'm, I
- 14:16feel like I'm unusual in the fact that like I am really good
- 14:22at being lazy and resting. I feel like I feel like most.
- 14:27People are. Most people are not, Well, yes,
- 14:31and people, you know, do a lot more.
- 14:35But I'm like, oh, I do not have a perfectionism personality,
- 14:42personality or perfectionist personality.
- 14:45I don't have a problem like watching TV and having lunch
- 14:50while May is at school. But then I'm like, oh, I do need
- 14:55to make my schedule when she's at school.
- 14:58And I was thinking, just yesterday I was like, oh man,
- 15:02remember when just like that she wasn't in school and I was with
- 15:07her all day? I'm like that seems.
- 15:10So far away. Ago, yeah, but not like, do you
- 15:14find that now? Because I don't feel like I'm
- 15:20missing out on any time with her.
- 15:23Yeah, I don't. Feel like I'm lacking time.
- 15:28Yeah, you're like connection time.
- 15:30I don't feel like we're missing anything while she's I.
- 15:35Do you feel that? I know it's a little newer for
- 15:37you though. No, I don't think I feel that.
- 15:40And I, and that's probably because I'm still so involved
- 15:44with Frankie's school that like it.
- 15:46There's still like that piece that I was doing with her that
- 15:49I'm still doing and well. I think probably knowing that
- 15:58she loves like really like she. Really likes it now it's
- 16:02probably and her day is not very long, right?
- 16:05Like I, it's not like I put her in the aftercare program and it
- 16:09and like I can't drop her off till 8:30.
- 16:13So it's not she's there from 8:30 to 2:00 like I'm there,
- 16:18right? There.
- 16:22Yeah, it's still not a long day. And on days where, like, I can
- 16:30get my work for the most part done in that three hour chunk
- 16:35that by the time I'm picking her up, I can just spend, you know,
- 16:39the, the couple hours until Garrett gets home to take over
- 16:43with them. Yeah, you're right.
- 16:44I, I don't, all this to say, I don't feel like I'm missing all
- 16:50that time 'cause it's not like when they were here with me full
- 16:53time, I was on them and we were doing stuff all the time.
- 16:56I was still having to work. So it's, if anything, it feels
- 17:01like less guilty time, 'cause I know that, you know, on my
- 17:04busier days, I'm not just putting on a bunch of movies for
- 17:06them. Yeah.
- 17:08So I can knock a bunch of things out.
- 17:10So. I do find that I feel I feel
- 17:12more guilty when like when we're together and I'm getting like
- 17:17frustrated with her because I'm like, this is our time together.
- 17:20Like I mean, she's 3. I feel bad anytime I get
- 17:24frustrated with her, but I but I have found that I'm like, Oh,
- 17:27I'm not alone in that because I don't know if my, you know, my
- 17:32phone or friends have like been listening to my inner thoughts,
- 17:36but I'm like, Oh, I'm not the only one who feels like it's not
- 17:42like a rage, but it's like, like, it's like building where,
- 17:48you know, we hear all about the well, God, what is the term that
- 17:52keeps coming up all the time? Oh, regulating our emotions.
- 17:57I'm like, oh, I'm terrible. This is when they meant that
- 18:03this is what they. Mean it's all be like like in my
- 18:08head, but then I always try and make it into like a jokey where
- 18:12I'm like you're. Driving me insane.
- 18:15Yeah, yes. I try not to like, say it like
- 18:18that, but I'm like, I'm going to lose my mind.
- 18:20Yeah, I have started, I think I've said more this summer into
- 18:25the school year, more out loud to them.
- 18:28I'm just so frustrated right now.
- 18:30Like I just say it out loud and that tends to just kind of, I
- 18:35don't know. I don't it does.
- 18:36It definitely doesn't work all the time, but it does tend to
- 18:40like take their curiosity. I don't think curiosity is the
- 18:47word. I'm looking for it.
- 18:48Like what's going on with? You.
- 18:50Yeah, it takes out them trying to.
- 18:52Figure out. Yes, what I'm feeling.
- 18:58The other. Big thing that I noticed is most
- 19:01of our meltdowns happen when my work is more intense or I'm on
- 19:06my phone more like these kids don't, they will have a great
- 19:12day. They'll be so well behaved,
- 19:14they'll get along with each other.
- 19:15If I'm just walking around the house and like cleaning or
- 19:19journaling or, you know, just doing things that keeps my
- 19:24attention in the house but not on my phone or my computer.
- 19:29The second I pick up my phone or I go to sit down at my desk,
- 19:32it's like they know that I'm not mentally in the house anymore
- 19:36and that stresses them out. Interesting.
- 19:39Yeah, I I do think it is like a huge technology.
- 19:47Yeah. It's like a screen thing or like
- 19:49the phone thing. And I've been really trying to
- 19:53leave my phone. Like I'll come home and then
- 19:56I'll try, I'll take because usually Preston will get her
- 19:59from school a lot of the times and then I'd get home and then
- 20:02I'm like, you know, I'll see her and blah, blah, blah.
- 20:05But then I'm like, OK, I just need like 5 or 10 minutes to
- 20:08like transition myself. So I'm like I will like look at
- 20:12my phone in my room and check stuff or whatever, you know,
- 20:15nothing important. But I'm like, I just need a
- 20:17minute and then I'll try and leave my phone in a big room
- 20:21because I'm like. You know, we see all those
- 20:23things where it's like, even if your phone is, even if you're
- 20:26not looking at your phone, if it's near you.
- 20:28Yeah, not they know that they're not the most important.
- 20:33Yeah. Or like they not, they don't.
- 20:35They feel that way. Yeah, Yeah.
- 20:37And I feel that way too. If somebody, you know, if you're
- 20:40out to lunch or whatever and somebody's phone is on the
- 20:44table, you're like, oh, they're waiting for something important
- 20:49or, you know, yeah, like, oh, I just have to leave it.
- 20:53And I've had May start telling me and I will be like, oh, thank
- 20:57you. She'll be like mommy off the
- 20:59phone. Yes, and Oh my God, Skyler will.
- 21:03She'll yell it at me. So get off your phone.
- 21:07Get off your phone. But I'll say it to myself too,
- 21:10because she'll be like mommy, mommy and I'll be like, oh, and
- 21:13say mommy off mommy, get off the phone and I'm and then I'll put
- 21:17it away. So I say it to myself or like
- 21:20answer and then she'll say it hurt.
- 21:23Yeah, that's that's the way to do it cuz.
- 21:25And I've had cuz I'll call out Preston, I'll be like off your
- 21:30phone, like, why don't you go put it in the other room And he,
- 21:33but then he'll half of the time be like, you're on it as much as
- 21:38I am, blah, blah. And he'll like, what if I would
- 21:40call you out? So I've been like, you can call
- 21:42me out If I am on my phone, like I'm like, please, I will not.
- 21:47That's one thing that like I won't get like annoyed or mad
- 21:52about it. I'll be like, Oh, you're right,
- 21:53especially if it's not something important.
- 21:55If I'm like, Oh, I need to also like neither of us have anything
- 21:59like important to do between the hours of like, you know, 4 to 8.
- 22:06It's like nobody. Yeah, nobody needs me right now
- 22:09and if they do it can wait till tomorrow.
- 22:13Like I think I've tried to make my window like 5 to 9 and that's
- 22:18only because Garrett usually gets home around 4415 ish so he
- 22:23can be on them and I could get like that last chunk of whatever
- 22:27in. But yeah, we've really, we've
- 22:31done the same. We've we've tried to keep our
- 22:34phones like central in the kitchen so I can hear it if I
- 22:38need to, but like on the weekends and things.
- 22:43But it's hard because like, it's so hard.
- 22:45It's all just like, pick it up out of habit.
- 22:48And I'm like, it's one, Yeah. Like, it's one thing if you're
- 22:53like doing work or something, but it's like, I'm usually it'll
- 22:58be like on Instagram or something like that.
- 23:00I'm like, I do not need to be doing this.
- 23:03And, you know, they don't understand that either.
- 23:06So it's very like, oh, have to yeah, yeah.
- 23:09Off the phone. Yeah, man, kids are always like
- 23:15changing too. They changed so much.
- 23:18I was like, oh, I don't know, October was a really rough month
- 23:23for us because I was so busy, which just led to a lot of
- 23:26meltdowns because my attention was not in the house that I, I'm
- 23:31my holy cow that I, I know that every stage is going to have
- 23:36different hardships, but I'm like, Oh my God, I don't, I
- 23:41don't know about 5 has been a real, I'm struggling because she
- 23:47has more words, but not but not full understanding of her
- 23:52emotions. And she's can be so, so mean.
- 23:54Oh my God, so mean. They're so mean and it's Mae's
- 24:02already there with like, I mean, she's, it's the only like
- 24:06vocabulary she has. But when she's upset, she'll be
- 24:09like, you're not my best friend. Oh my God, yeah.
- 24:12The amount of times that. She said I don't love you.
- 24:16Oh no, luckily Skyrim will be like you're not luckily lol.
- 24:23She'll say things like you're not my mom anymore and I'll be
- 24:28like would like in the most calm voice I'll be like would you
- 24:31like me to go find you another one and then immediate run to my
- 24:35arms hug me. Why would you think about
- 24:38leaving? I was like, I don't want to.
- 24:41I'm just trying to figure out what's best for you.
- 24:43But anyway, that usually helps her when she's yelling at me.
- 24:46You're not my mommy. Oh my.
- 24:48God, yeah, it's hard because I'm like it.
- 24:51Obviously she doesn't mean it and like.
- 24:54No. Like she means it in the moment,
- 24:56like she's mad at whatever and like doesn't mean it, but like,
- 25:01it's hard not to take personally.
- 25:03And one time I did like, she did make me cry and we were in the
- 25:06car and I was like, that really hurt my feelings.
- 25:10And then she was like, are you crying right now?
- 25:12And I was like, yeah, that really hurt my And then she
- 25:15cried. Yes, yes, yeah, I.
- 25:17Was like, so I was like, okay, well, that probably wasn't the
- 25:21best reaction for me. So I've tried to just like when
- 25:24she says I'm like, well, I love you so I'm sorry, sorry.
- 25:29Yeah, that's the one. I mean, I'm definitely not a
- 25:33gent in like a gentle parenting, but I try to veer towards, you
- 25:38know, at least like. Yeah, I don't think I would call
- 25:40myself gentle parenting, but I we are very like communication
- 25:47focused, both Garrett and I that like even when they're yelling
- 25:54and like if I get heated and lose my patience, the first
- 25:57thing I or not the first, it's definitely not the first, but
- 26:01the last thing I always make sure I say is even when mommy's
- 26:05mad, I still love you. Even when you do something bad,
- 26:08I still love you. And so they'll say that.
- 26:11But man, there was a couple weeks ago, we went through a
- 26:13phase where they, like both of them were like, we're not good
- 26:17people. Like they got so frustrated and
- 26:20I lost my patience. Everybody in the house was like,
- 26:23we were all like tensions high because it was a really busy
- 26:26day. I was getting a migraine.
- 26:29Anyway, that doesn't matter. The point is, is they looked at
- 26:32me and they were both just like crying.
- 26:33And they're like, we're not good people.
- 26:35And I was like, no, no, no. I was like, mommy messed up.
- 26:39At some point, I made you think when you do bad things, that
- 26:42means you're a bad person. That's not the case.
- 26:44And we had to have this big long conversation.
- 26:47So now that also gets looped in because, man, them looking at me
- 26:52and crying and thinking that they weren't good people.
- 26:55I was like, no, we messed up somewhere.
- 26:57Somewhere along the line of all of us being angry, you thought
- 27:01that's OK. Yeah, maybe the other day was
- 27:05upset just being like, I don't love anybody.
- 27:08And she was like, I don't love myself.
- 27:11And it was like, oh God. And I was like, no, no, no,
- 27:16it's. Not what we say.

- 28:33But then I'm like, I don't, I don't, I don't think, you know,
- 28:38I'm going back to it. Don't don't think I was going to
- 28:41let you get out of this without me talking about having another.
- 28:44Kid, hey, hey, don't think I wasn't trying to subtly bring it
- 28:47up and ask again. I, I think I'm close to like I
- 28:52would say 90%. OK.
- 28:55But being good with May yeah, like I wanted to.
- 29:00But I think one of the things, and I think I just did a post
- 29:06about this where I was like, I need to stop saying just like
- 29:10people were talking about their emails, like stop apologizing,
- 29:14Say I'm just circling back. I'm just this.
- 29:17And I was like, oh, I keep saying anytime somebody's like,
- 29:21oh, do you have kids or do you have a daughter or whatever?
- 29:23I'm like, oh, just the one. And I'm like.
- 29:27You have a kid, period. Always.
- 29:29I always say that and everybody says that when they're like, oh,
- 29:31just just just one daughter. So.
- 29:34And I'm like, Oh my God, I need to really stop saying that cuz I
- 29:39mean, obviously I don't mean it in any sort of way, but it is
- 29:43very much a, you know, I did a whole episode talking about if I
- 29:49wanted to have kids or not. And it's very much like I feel,
- 29:53and I would never say this to somebody who has one kid, but
- 29:58I'm like in my head, I don't feel, and I'm sure I've told you
- 30:03this, like I don't feel like a full mom, like a now where it's
- 30:08like I'm taking the easy route with.
- 30:11The with parenting lol isn't that crazy.
- 30:14Yeah, where it's like, oh, I'm, I'm only having the one, so I'm
- 30:18not as much of a parent. As somebody with yeah.
- 30:21Or like. Which is so wild.
- 30:24Because I think it's a combination.
- 30:26Well, obviously it's also wanting a sibling for her for
- 30:29the future. Yeah, like.
- 30:33Much right now, although her playing with babies and like
- 30:37just like pulls my heart out of my body, but I'm like, wait,
- 30:44where was I going with that? Oh, that it's also no, I no, I
- 30:49did lose my train like no, it's back.
- 30:53No, I lost it. The sibling in the future?
- 30:56You don't really. Know yeah, we're like I don't
- 31:00no, I lost it but talking about something where I hadn't hold
- 31:04the whole episode about it feeling like yeah having one
- 31:10like I'm not enough of a mom just having just having one or
- 31:18like yeah no, I lost whatever. Go listen to that episode, I
- 31:22talked about it. Speaking of recapping Season 6,
- 31:27that's somewhere in here talk. About it there.
- 31:30But yeah, I think anyway I could talk about that for for forever.
- 31:38But yeah, I think we're. So if you're at 90%, do you feel
- 31:43like the last 10% is just getting out of your head that
- 31:45Mays not to have a sibling in the future?
- 31:48OK. I got where I was, where I was
- 31:50going. No, Oh my God, this is going to
- 31:52be the worst thing ever. Oh, that I feel.
- 31:58I'm not editing any of this. We're going to let people see
- 32:01them, what it's like inside the mom brain.
- 32:05That I feel bad just in general for every woman because, and
- 32:16again, I don't, I don't even know if I if it would be easy to
- 32:20have another one, if I could have another one.
- 32:22But the fact that I don't know and I haven't tried yet, I feel
- 32:28like I need a reason to not have another one and me just kind of
- 32:34not. Doesn't feel like reason enough.
- 32:39Exactly where I'm like, well, if I could, if I can, I should.
- 32:44And it's like, well, that's not a reason either.
- 32:46But but I found myself and I hate I like hesitate even saying
- 32:51this out loud and I hesitated even saying it to Preston but I
- 32:54was like I feel like part of me wants to try and then not not
- 33:06that I want it to not work but if I didn't get pregnant then be
- 33:12like but I tried. Yeah.
- 33:15Yeah, which like is a kind of a horrifying thing to say, but
- 33:19like, not obviously. Not that I want anything bad,
- 33:22but if it just like doesn't happen.
- 33:24Yeah, yeah, yeah. Then I'm like that.
- 33:28And then I would at least feel and I was like, that's fucked
- 33:32up. Like that's.
- 33:33Yeah, like the this, the simple fact that you.
- 33:36I don't think that's a good idea.
- 33:39And I was like, well, clearly. Obviously.
- 33:42Thank you. But I was like, obviously that's
- 33:44why I'm hesitating to even say it because like I don't want it
- 33:48to get like misconstrued in any way.
- 33:50But I'm like I hate. Yeah.
- 33:54Like the not even trying because I feel like then I'll feel like
- 33:59well, what if? Yeah, but like it's been three
- 34:04years, so like it, if you feel settled in it, that's enough.
- 34:10That's enough of a reason. I mean, you like, you know, it
- 34:15is what it is. You're not any less than than
- 34:17anybody else that has more. I would never.
- 34:20Well, this is what you're saying.
- 34:21You would never say that to a friend that only has kids.
- 34:24Wow. Yeah, one of my close friends,
- 34:27you know, obviously I know people with one kid and I'm just
- 34:31like, and then I always compare 'cause then I'm like, but they
- 34:35have so many cousins or they're nearby or like there's always
- 34:40the comparisons of like, well, This is why they can get away
- 34:43with only. One kid.
- 34:46You know, where I'm like Julia's, she has like, you know,
- 34:50older boy cousins, but only a like only three.
- 34:55Well, she has these that were not like, and nobody's nearby.
- 34:59And it's like, oh, I think I just have to be like and then
- 35:04thinking of like, oh, if she wants to have kids, her kids
- 35:07won't have any aunts or uncles from her.
- 35:10Like that's sad to me too. I'm just, I know it's like you
- 35:15spiral the way that I do in terms of like family dynamics
- 35:20and things, but the the thing that I'm like constantly
- 35:23reminding myself of is like, it will be all she knows.
- 35:28She won't know any other version, so she won't have it.
- 35:33Anything to compare it to. Like I'm constantly like, I need
- 35:37more kids. I loved growing up with the
- 35:40amount of siblings that I had and all the cousins that I had
- 35:43and like all the aunts and uncles and the blah, blah, blah,
- 35:45blah, blah. I want my kids that they don't
- 35:48need, that they get their own little experience and I don't
- 35:54have to give them what mine was in order for theirs to be just
- 35:59as beautiful. And think if it is, I mean, if
- 36:02it does, if it is just the two of them, they can be like so
- 36:06close, yeah. And they are, which is.
- 36:10And then I spiral the other way because I know I want one more.
- 36:13But then I'm like, oh, but then these two are so close.
- 36:15So I need to give that person. And then I'm like, okay, now
- 36:17here then. Frankie, you'll be a middle
- 36:19child. Yeah, exactly, Exactly so.
- 36:24Which is everything I know. I do think of that too, because
- 36:27then I'm like, oh, if we had another one, then I'm like, oh,
- 36:30that would change. That would also change the whole
- 36:32dynamic of May's life because then she'll be an older sibling.
- 36:35And I'm like, I've never been an older sibling.
- 36:37I don't know what that would be like.
- 36:38Yeah. You know, there's no like, right
- 36:42choice. It's just, it's just where
- 36:44they're all. Exactly.
- 36:47They're all right. The right choice is making one
- 36:51and then choosing to show up in that scenario to the best of
- 36:55your ability. And so like, if you have chosen
- 36:58that Mae is going to be an only child, great.
- 37:01You're going to give her the best life that you are capable
- 37:04of providing her, and then she'll deal with the rest the
- 37:06way she wants to. But yes, I've talked about that
- 37:12topic AG nauseam. Is that the?
- 37:15Word ad AG nauseam. Yeah.
- 37:18Yeah, that's right. Anyway, so but mommy would I
- 37:25feel like we've I still can't believe there's already been six
- 37:30seasons and I started with me was like 2 months old.
- 37:35Oh my God, crazy like that. Which now looking back, I'm
- 37:39like, oh, Dang, that was a lot. Like to start when she was not
- 37:45that I had much else going on, but I'm like, oh Dang, that's,
- 37:50that's a lot. And then I'm like, oh man, I
- 37:53remember bringing this idea to you and I'm on board.
- 37:56Let's do it. And then I was like, she
- 37:58probably regrets. Not even a little bit lol.
- 38:02Could you imagine? Let's do it.
- 38:05Actually, I don't want to do it. I didn't.
- 38:08Think I didn't think you'd be still doing it.
- 38:12No, I just feel like I do. I think.
- 38:17So here's what I'm thinking for Season 7.
- 38:20Yeah, let's hear it. That we have some guests in the
- 38:27pipelines that we're scheduling, but I also think that Season 7
- 38:33might be a good, what are we going to call it?
- 38:37I'll come up with a better name, but kind of like a a flashback
- 38:42season. Where do some of the not redo
- 38:47but? Check in with.
- 38:50Some of the episodes and check in with some of the guests,
- 38:55maybe if we do like a little recap with them or just like,
- 39:00'cause I feel like we have had so many amazing guests and this
- 39:05is on me that like I'm not great at being because I'm like, Oh my
- 39:10God, they've done all of this. Everyone should just know
- 39:13everything. Yeah, I feel like I'm going to
- 39:18share more with followers, listeners, like who these people
- 39:21actually are without like, even if they don't have to like,
- 39:26listen to the episode, just I want the people who have been on
- 39:32mommy wood to feel like we are celebrating them more, you know?
- 39:39Yeah. Reminder, this is what this
- 39:43person has done. Like they've done this and like
- 39:47kind of even just maybe like not summarizing their episode, but
- 39:55really like highlighting it. Yeah.
- 39:57Highlighting. I was just.
- 39:59Saying yeah and and showing like, you know, a reminder that
- 40:03all of these things have been accomplished and done.
- 40:06With kids in the in not even in the background.
- 40:09And the very foreground of these people lives, yeah.
- 40:14I think, yeah, I think that. I think that would be.
- 40:19AI love that. I love that.
- 40:20And anyone who is listening who has someone that they want to.
- 40:27Hear from. Hear from or they have a
- 40:29suggestion or somebody that they would like to nominate.
- 40:34Was that the word DM? I'm I'm always I'm on my DMS so.
- 40:40Send us a message, tell us who you want us to talk to and by us
- 40:43I. Mean we're like or you can, I
- 40:47guess you can leave, leave a comment on Spotify or because
- 40:51that's a thing too. Yeah, I.
- 40:54Don't know if people do that. Often I I, I, I don't, that's
- 40:59not how I podcast, but you know, there might be some people who
- 41:02do so. I also have liked that for this
- 41:06season we've done video. I think that's really fun.
- 41:10Yeah, I think, oh, maybe that will be part of the Season 7
- 41:17highlight highlight season. Maybe I'll because we do have
- 41:21all those videos and I don't think we've posted.
- 41:25Oh, you're right. Maybe we'll do that.
- 41:30Something we'll think. About yeah, maybe I'll do like a
- 41:34YouTube. I think I put a couple on
- 41:35YouTube and then, you know, again, I'm not not a
- 41:40perfectionist so I forgot about it, but I feel like I could put
- 41:44them on YouTube because I don't know how much I would want to
- 41:47like read. Yeah.
- 41:51Or just like. Something for us to think.
- 41:53About yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't need to.
- 41:56Tune back into Season 7 to find out what's what's been decided.
- 42:01What the heck is going on? See, we're all just figuring it
- 42:07out and I think we have some sponsors in the pipeline too,
- 42:13which makes me think and I've and I've also got new commercial
- 42:20Rep for myself, which is very. Exciting.
- 42:23Wow. Well, I think thank you.
- 42:25I'm so excited, but thinking of like getting my new commercial
- 42:30Rep and like finally reaching out to sponsors and things like
- 42:33that for mommy would just makes me realize like just just do it.
- 42:39Just ask because I've been waiting for like, oh, I need
- 42:44better footage. Oh, I need to book this before I
- 42:47can look for new reps or oh, I need 10,000 followers before I
- 42:53can see if somebody would be interested in a sponsorship.
- 42:56And it's like, Oh no, you should just ask and be where you are,
- 43:03when, where, when, where you are.
- 43:07Yes, my theory or my philosophy is they can't say yes if they
- 43:11don't know about it. So it's.
- 43:13True, yeah. That's right.
- 43:17Well, we did it. We did it.
- 43:20Thanks for listening to this episode of Mommy Wood.
- 43:23A huge thank you to our sponsor for this episode.
- 43:26A big thank you to my producer and good friend Cecilia Tripp
