- 0:00What keeps you up at night about Parkinson's?
- 0:02Is it the stiffness, the fatigue, or the worry about
- 0:05tomorrow? Or maybe it's the silence, that
- 0:10feeling that nobody out there really understands what you're
- 0:13going through. I used to keep it all bottled
- 0:16up. For five years after my
- 0:18diagnosis, I kept my head down. I thought saying silent would be
- 0:22easier. One thing I learned that silence
- 0:25doesn't fix anything and complaining doesn't change
- 0:28anything. And the turning point for me was
- 0:31the first time I spoke up. I hit record, I shared my story,
- 0:34and I braced myself for nothing. Instead, I got flooded with
- 0:38responses. You know, my video about hidden
- 0:41side effects got 173 comments, Not likes comments.
- 0:47People opened up. They were sharing things that
- 0:49they've never told anybody before.
- 0:52And that's when it hit me. We weren't just talking about
- 0:56symptoms, we were building something bigger, a movement
- 1:00waiting to happen. The hidden reality that no one
- 1:03talks about, that the doctors don't tell you.
- 1:06And today we are going to break that forever.
- 1:11Welcome to Living with Parkinson's, The Good, the Bad,
- 1:14and the Reality. Real talk, real life, real
- 1:18community with Bryce Perry. Let's begin.
- 1:23Hey everyone, I'm Bryce and this is living with Parkinson's.
- 1:26The good, the bad, and the reality.
- 1:28Now, this podcast is more than videos, it's more than audio,
- 1:32it's more than me. And here's something that you
- 1:35might not realize or no, I only started these podcasts at the
- 1:38beginning of this year. You know, that's right.
- 1:41Like just months ago as an example, in the last three
- 1:44months, I think over 6000 new people have joined were 5000 new
- 1:49people listening to the audio podcast.
- 1:52And that's not luck, that's not random, that's momentum.
- 1:56And that's proof that we're doing something, something that
- 1:58matters here, you know, And the truth that doctors won't tell
- 2:01you about Parkinson's, it needs to be said.
- 2:04So today, I want to challenge you, yes, you, to stop just
- 2:09surviving and stop changing how the world sees Parkinson's.
- 2:14You know, stay tuned because later in this episode, I'm going
- 2:16to share something brand new that we created, OK?
- 2:20And it's not just a song. It's a music video.
- 2:22It's not just a song. It's a battle cry, and I want
- 2:26you to see it. You know, the truth is, I never
- 2:30set out to be the leader of a movement.
- 2:32I was just trying to figure out how to live with this freaking
- 2:35disease. But then thousands of people
- 2:38start showing up. People who are tired of being
- 2:41invisible, tired of being ignored, tired of feeling like
- 2:44their voice doesn't matter. And that's not an accident.
- 2:47That's a calling. And I'll take it on.
- 2:51But here's the truth. A movement doesn't happen
- 2:53because one guy with Parkinson's has a YouTube channel or puts a
- 2:56podcast out. A movement happens when
- 2:58thousands of voices come together and refuse to be
- 3:02ignored anymore. And this changes everything.
- 3:05And that means I need you. Not somebody.
- 3:09Not when it's convenient. I need you right now.
- 3:13I know that some of you are thinking, hey, Bryce, I'm too
- 3:15old. My symptoms are too advanced or
- 3:18I don't know how to get started. Well, let me let me stop you
- 3:22right there. Too old.
- 3:25That just means you've got wisdom and stories that younger
- 3:27people are desperately need to hear.
- 3:29You've walked the road. You're the voice of experience,
- 3:32and movements are built on web, on wisdom.
- 3:37Too symptomatic. Your presence alone proves
- 3:41something. When people see you show up,
- 3:43even on hard days, it shatters the stereotype that Parkinson's
- 3:46means that you're out of the game.
- 3:48You're not out of the game. How about not good with
- 3:50technology? Get over it.
- 3:52That's OK. You don't have to live stream on
- 3:55TikTok. You can start by telling your
- 3:57doctor the truth yet your next appointment, or sharing your
- 4:00story with a friend, or typing 2 words in the comments.
- 4:03Just say I'm in. That's all you need to do to get
- 4:06started. And nobody is excluded from
- 4:09this. Nobody gets to say I can't
- 4:11because your voice, your story, your courage, that's what fuels
- 4:15the movements. What they don't want you to know
- 4:18is this, that the system works better when we stay quiet.
- 4:21But we're not staying quiet anymore, are we?
- 4:24Why does it matter so much? Because Parkinson's substances
- 4:28just affect our bodies. It affects how the world looks
- 4:31at us. And right now, too often we're
- 4:33seen as broken, fragile, fading. But that's not the truth.
- 4:40We're resilient, we're fighters, and we're here.
- 4:44We're still here, aren't we? We're still here.
- 4:47And if we don't change the script, if we don't stand up and
- 4:50say this is who we really are, this is what it really is and
- 4:54this is what it really feels like, then who will?
- 4:58You know, this movement is about visibility.
- 5:00It's about dignity. It's about making sure the next
- 5:03person diagnosed doesn't feel as lone as we once did.
- 5:07It's about care partners who need just as much support as we
- 5:10do. It's about proving that
- 5:11Parkinson's may not slow us down, or it may slow us down,
- 5:14but it will not silence us. This is the hidden reality no
- 5:18one talks about. But starting today, join me.
- 5:22Let's start. We will, man, I get fired up.
- 5:27I'm so fired up right now. And you know what?
- 5:30I asked Carmen for Carmen's care partner corner on this.
- 5:32And this is what she had to say. She said hi everyone.
- 5:35It's Carmen. And here's why care partners
- 5:37need this movement too. We don't get a manual.
- 5:42We're figuring this out alongside you one day at a time.
- 5:46And sometimes care partners stay silent because we because we
- 5:49don't want to add more stress. But silence is heavy for us too.
- 5:55When we speak up, when we connect with other care
- 5:58partners, we join the movement and suddenly we're not carrying
- 6:02it alone anymore. We can share what's hard, we can
- 6:06celebrate what's good, and we can remind each other that we're
- 6:09still learning. And that is OK.
- 6:13So if you're a care partner, I want you to commit or comment
- 6:16still learning. Because the truth is, none of us
- 6:20have all the answers. But together, we have enough,
- 6:26man. That's well said.
- 6:27Thank you. Thank you, Carmen.
- 6:30You see, like, this isn't just about me.
- 6:33It's not even just about people with Parkinson's.
- 6:36It's about all of us. Patients, care partners, family
- 6:39and friends. And here's the best part.
- 6:42You don't have to be perfect to be powerful.
- 6:45You don't have to have all the answers.
- 6:47Hell, I once wanted a fork and then accidentally asked for a
- 6:49flashlight. You know we still laugh about
- 6:52it, right? They still don't let.
- 6:53Let me live this one down. If I can keep showing up, if
- 6:59Carmen can admit she's still learning, then you can too.
- 7:02You've got a voice and it matters.
- 7:05And right now, I want everyone to do something together.
- 7:08Look at that subscriber count below.
- 7:10We're at like 10,163 people and I'm recording this right by the
- 7:17end of the day. Let's make that number jump.
- 7:18Not for me, but for the person who gets diagnosed tomorrow and
- 7:22needs to know that he's not alone.
- 7:24Hit subscribe right now. Be part of the proof that this
- 7:28moment, this movement is alive, that we're not dead, that we're
- 7:30moving forward. OK.
- 7:34I told you earlier to stay tuned.
- 7:36And here it is. OK, Put together like a little
- 7:41video, a music video. And we played it inside the
- 7:44inner circle. And it's it's 3 minutes long,
- 7:47OK. But it's not about music.
- 7:49It's a challenge. It's a battle cry for the Trail
- 7:52Blazers, the ones ready to do more than just survive.
- 7:58I want you to. I don't want you to just watch
- 8:00it. I want you to feel it.
- 8:03And then I want you to ask yourself a question.
- 8:07Ask yourself, am I ready to move from silence to action?
- 8:13All right, here it is. What's the story of survival?
- 8:19This is a movement. Welcome to the inner circle.
- 8:28We're the ones who lean in when it's hard.
- 8:31Who raise our voices shining through the dark.
- 8:35Asking. All the questions that nobody
- 8:38dares finding strength in truth, pushing past the.
- 8:43Scares. We tell razors truth tellers, We
- 9:04see leave hands gone. We challenge the fire.
- 9:10We carry each other along, not just survivors.
- 9:18We rise and we stand with humour, honesty and heart in our
- 9:24hands. On the days when hope feels out
- 9:32of reach, we look one another. We practice what we preach
- 9:44purposes in our step, fire in our eyes.
- 9:51Together we conquer every mountain we climb with their
- 9:59Blazers. They tell us we seal it and
- 10:03scar. We challenge the fight.
- 10:08We carry each other alone, not just survivors.
- 10:16We rise and we stand with humor, honesty, and hard in our hands.
- 10:27Lift out, closes in. We speak truth over fear.
- 10:30The inner circle's voice is always near to remind you who
- 10:37you are, to boost you. When you fall, we stand behind
- 10:43you. United we call.
- 10:50We'll tell Blazers to tell us we still live and storm.
- 10:58We challenge the fire. We carry father along.
- 11:05This isn't a support group. It's our battle fire in the
- 11:13inner circle. Ask yourself this am I ready to
- 11:39move from silence to action? You have a choice.
- 11:43Here's your choice. Publicly drop I'm in in the
- 11:47comments and share one thing that you've been staying quiet
- 11:51about. That's how movement start.
- 11:54One person speaks, others follow.

- 12:00needs to hear it, needs to know they're not alone, that they're

- 12:09movement. And privately, if you're ready

- 12:18build this from the inside out, then join us in the inner

- 12:23going to happen. The links in the description,
- 12:26this movement has started and it starts now.
