- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Say.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hester and Hester got it five out a pat from
- 0:08Speaker 1: carrying each other to and Natty to carrying each other on.
- 0:11Speaker 3: The air were there's prop control for the.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Live from the raising Kine studio.
- 0:19Speaker 2: It's off the bench.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I got well.
- 0:56Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in oh dB our first number thirty.
- 1:04Speaker 4: It goes with new three hours. Have ever seen the day?
- 1:06Speaker 5: Bob flash fun at first American contrast Flags of America.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Better.
- 1:19Speaker 2: All right. They were gonna remind you about buy you automotive,
- 1:23Speaker 2: but they are cutting in and out. So Tata and
- 1:25Speaker 2: I are gonna talk what a little SEC tournament?
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah? Why not?
- 1:29Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:29Speaker 3: I mean, Alandra, we got Auburn tonight, and I think
- 1:32Speaker 3: it's going to be a tough task because Auburn did
- 1:35Speaker 3: not play yesterday, so they have other pitching available. And
- 1:38Speaker 3: then you and I talked a little bit earlier about
- 1:40Speaker 3: William Schmidt. Right, he had the back sore on us,
- 1:42Speaker 3: the tightness. It's a little unclear what exactly is wrong
- 1:46Speaker 3: with him, but word is right now he might be
- 1:49Speaker 3: unavailable for the rest of the tournament, So you're likely
- 1:53Speaker 3: going to go case in Evans tonight because you have
- 1:55Speaker 3: to win these games. But you're not gonna see Davin Gidry.
- 1:58Speaker 3: You're not going to see Devin sheer In. Both of
- 2:00Speaker 3: them threw over three innings last night. That's just not
- 2:02Speaker 3: going to happen. So you do have options, Like it's
- 2:04Speaker 3: all hims on deck obviously, right, Like Zach Collen's a possibility,
- 2:08Speaker 3: basically anyone in your bullpen. But why Auburn has the
- 2:12Speaker 3: advantage obviously them n LSU did not play this year.
- 2:16Speaker 3: But when you look at Auburn, they're not a team
- 2:19Speaker 3: that's going to rely on a bunch of staggering runs.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Like they're not a Georgia that's gonna put up eight, nine,
- 2:25Speaker 3: ten runs a game. You look at what they did
- 2:28Speaker 3: last Thursday, their game one starter against Georgia. They lost
- 2:32Speaker 3: that game, but they lost two to one. Jake Marciano
- 2:35Speaker 3: has been their game one starter the last back half
- 2:38Speaker 3: of the year or so, and he's been pretty good.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I mean against Georgia. That's same Georgia lineup that torched
- 2:43Speaker 3: LSU for three games. Yea, he goes six innings, gives
- 2:47Speaker 3: up two earned runs now five strikeouts and three walks,
- 2:50Speaker 3: but he managed things well I mean two earned runs,
- 2:52Speaker 3: just four hits over six innings against a really good
- 2:55Speaker 3: Georgia team that matters. And when you're LSU and you
- 3:01Speaker 3: already struggle in starting pitching right like Cooper Moore's not
- 3:04Speaker 3: going to play for you already have multiple injuries. Now
- 3:07Speaker 3: know William Schmidt. You saw Grant font No and gidri
- 3:11Speaker 3: and and Sheeran last night, all guys you dont could
- 3:14Speaker 3: contribute today if Cason Evans, Zach Cowen big question mark
- 3:18Speaker 3: right now is is kind of how it looks. And
- 3:20Speaker 3: Auburn again didn't pitch yesterday, they got their full arsenal
- 3:23Speaker 3: to work with.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say, I don't know too much
- 3:27Speaker 2: about Auburn since we didn't face them this season, but
- 3:30Speaker 2: I do know Chase Freylick because we faced him before
- 3:33Speaker 2: and he was the freshman that like sits back there
- 3:34Speaker 2: and called pitches on his own, called the whole game.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I mean it's gonna three year story.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, like he's he's going to be. He has a
- 3:42Speaker 2: one point two five ops in a three twenty batting average,
- 3:47Speaker 2: and I'm looking at it, there's only one person batting
- 3:49Speaker 2: below three hundred on their roster, on their starting lineup.
- 3:53Speaker 2: So for whether it be Cason Evans or if it's
- 3:57Speaker 2: going to have to be Johnny Hulstaff, which would be
- 4:01Speaker 2: not good at all, you're gonna have a tall task
- 4:05Speaker 2: with this lineup, to say the least.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Well.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Yeah, on the flip side of things, like look at
- 4:09Speaker 3: what they did defensively against Georgia. You lose Game one
- 4:13Speaker 3: two to one, now high scoring game nine to seven,
- 4:16Speaker 3: Game two last Friday against Georgia. Then you actually run
- 4:20Speaker 3: rule them in eight innings fourteen to four in Game three.
- 4:22Speaker 3: So in two of those three games combined, that's six
- 4:28Speaker 3: runs against a really good Georgia lineup that scored at
- 4:31Speaker 3: least nine runs every single time they played LSU. So yeah,
- 4:36Speaker 3: they haven't been putting up gaudy run numbers. Like Alandre
- 4:39Speaker 3: just mentioned, anybody in this lineup top to bottom can't hit.
- 4:44Speaker 3: They can get on base pretty much, everybody batting every
- 4:46Speaker 3: three hundred. But the pitching staff like, Okay, they lose
- 4:49Speaker 3: to Jacksonville State last Tuesday, and you're like, oh, you
- 4:52Speaker 3: lost to Jacksonville State. First off, Jacksonville State ranked number
- 4:55Speaker 3: twenty four in the country, so they're a good team.
- 4:57Speaker 3: But again, it was four to one. So they didn't
- 5:00Speaker 3: hit well, but they're pitching staff gave them an opportunity.
- 5:03Speaker 3: When you look at LSU, what do we talk about?
- 5:05Speaker 3: It's one thing after another. If you're hitting, you're not
- 5:07Speaker 3: pitching well. Look at all the runs you've scored an
- 5:09Speaker 3: SEC play the past few weeks, and then on the
- 5:11Speaker 3: flip side, you've walked a lot abotters. Auburn's just steady
- 5:14Speaker 3: right now on both sides of the ball. They play
- 5:17Speaker 3: complimentary baseball when their runs aren't happening, they're holding teams
- 5:21Speaker 3: to two, three, four runs, and that's a talented lineup,
- 5:25Speaker 3: like the Georgia Bulldogs. You look at LSU, they're struggle
- 5:28Speaker 3: lead and again Omar Cerna, one of your best hitters
- 5:31Speaker 3: the entire season, doesn't look like he's going to play
- 5:34Speaker 3: today maybe the rest of the SEC Tournament's like, I
- 5:36Speaker 3: just don't think LSU has enough offensively and defensively to
- 5:41Speaker 3: combat just the really consistent play we've seen from all.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and I kind of think the same, but hopefully,
- 5:49Speaker 2: you know, there's like some postseason magic that baseball gets.
- 5:53Speaker 2: And it looks like they're back, but it also kind
- 5:55Speaker 2: of looks like they are.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Yeah, they're not that quite yet, lack it doesn't have
- 5:59Speaker 3: a head.
- 6:00Speaker 2: So yeah, sorry, guys, we are dealing with some technical difficulties.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And Cassie says we should be good. Now we are not.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Good, girl, We are not good. But look, as far
- 6:13Speaker 3: as the SEC tournament goes, let's just go ahead and
- 6:15Speaker 3: run down the rest of the bracket here for you
- 6:18Speaker 3: real quick. The nine to thirty eight m game. Actually
- 6:21Speaker 3: it's about to start it in just a few minutes.
- 6:23Speaker 3: The sixteen seed Missouri, which remember they came from behind
- 6:26Speaker 3: against Ole miss They actually won that game ten eight
- 6:29Speaker 3: over the nine seed, big time upset there. They'll take
- 6:31Speaker 3: on Mississippi State at nine thirty. Then you're game two.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Most people you know, one o'clock if you will. It's
- 6:38Speaker 3: all the games are TBD. But Game two Vanderbilt versus Florida.
- 6:42Speaker 3: That's the twelve versus five Vanderbilt similar situation to LSU,
- 6:46Speaker 3: Like they have fourteen conference wins right now, but their
- 6:50Speaker 3: RPI is so low it's like high seventies. That Vanderbilt
- 6:53Speaker 3: pretty much has to win this tournament just like LSU
- 6:56Speaker 3: in order to get into postseason play. Like when's the
- 6:59Speaker 3: last time we see hey LSU And Vanderbilt. Both have
- 7:01Speaker 3: to go on a run just to get in the postseason,
- 7:03Speaker 3: but it's been that kind of year. They'll take on Florida,
- 7:06Speaker 3: who we saw the kind of baseball Florida's playing just
- 7:09Speaker 3: this past week in the box. That four to thirty
- 7:12Speaker 3: ish game, it's going to be ten seed Tennessee against
- 7:15Speaker 3: seven seed Arkansas. That's a battle of teams that have
- 7:18Speaker 3: just been hot and cold all year long. When both
- 7:20Speaker 3: of those teams are on, they both look like top
- 7:23Speaker 3: fifteen to twenty teams in college baseball. When they're off,
- 7:26Speaker 3: anybody can beat them. I mean LSU won that series
- 7:29Speaker 3: against Tennessee. Look at the direction both of those teams
- 7:31Speaker 3: have went since then. So that's the ten versus seven
- 7:35Speaker 3: and then obviously the fourteen seed versus the sixth seed.
- 7:38Speaker 3: That's going to be LSU versus Olivern. That is scheduled
- 7:40Speaker 3: for eight pm. I'm gonna let you know right now,
- 7:42Speaker 3: the games is not going to happen at eight pm
- 7:45Speaker 3: because I don't think Tennessee Arkansas is going to play
- 7:47Speaker 3: at four thirty. We see this every year. Games run
- 7:50Speaker 3: long and Hoover and guess what, Landra Whether it was
- 7:53Speaker 3: great first day, Yeah, we're expecting rain in the forecast
- 7:57Speaker 3: a little bit today at Hoover. At some point they
- 8:00Speaker 3: have to move this game. Like I love Hoover, everyone
- 8:04Speaker 3: that says they go, but I just feels like every
- 8:06Speaker 3: single year we deal with this weather delay. But those
- 8:09Speaker 3: are the games today, and for what it's worth. The
- 8:11Speaker 3: teams with the double buys who do not play until tomorrow,
- 8:14Speaker 3: that's Georgia. They will play the winner of Missouri versus
- 8:17Speaker 3: Mississippi State. You have Alabama, who is trying to fight
- 8:22Speaker 3: to be a top eight national seed. They will play
- 8:25Speaker 3: the winner of Florida versus Vanderbilt Texas. That's the game.
- 8:29Speaker 3: They're the two seed that's gonna be the winner of
- 8:31Speaker 3: Game seven, which is Arkansas versus Tennessee and then Auburn. LSU,
- 8:37Speaker 3: the winner of that will play that really good Texas
- 8:39Speaker 3: A and M team that three seed, which will be
- 8:43Speaker 3: looks like the last game on Friday, So LSU is
- 8:48Speaker 3: just gonna go late late late basically the entire way
- 8:51Speaker 3: through the bracket. That looks like that's going to be
- 8:54Speaker 3: Game four on Friday. Of course, if LSU does advance,
- 8:57Speaker 3: I don't know if they do. Like when you go
- 8:59Speaker 3: back and look at Auburn Landra mitchin there they're batting lineup,
- 9:03Speaker 3: like most of the guys in that lineup are gonna
- 9:05Speaker 3: bat three hundred. We mentioned their pitching staff right, like,
- 9:09Speaker 3: they've held a lot of really good batting lineups to
- 9:12Speaker 3: really really low run totals. And then Auburn is seventeen
- 9:17Speaker 3: and thirteen in SEC play. I was looking at that
- 9:20Speaker 3: a little bit earlier, just like a Landra Mitchell, like,
- 9:22Speaker 3: you know, we didn't have to do a huge deep
- 9:24Speaker 3: dive into Auburn because LSU went Auburn for seems like
- 9:28Speaker 3: for the first time in a while, didn't play each
- 9:30Speaker 3: other this year. But they're seventeen and thirteen in conference.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Here's where I think it's most important where they could
- 9:35Speaker 3: thrive in a situation like this. They're twenty one and
- 9:38Speaker 3: ten at home, but they're ten and eight away, so
- 9:41Speaker 3: they have a winning record on the road, and they're
- 9:43Speaker 3: five and oh in neutral site games. On the flip
- 9:46Speaker 3: side of things, when you go look at LSU, like, yes,
- 9:49Speaker 3: obviously they've struggled overall at SEC play, but I mean
- 9:53Speaker 3: the Tigers just have not been great on the road
- 9:57Speaker 3: this year. Like you go look at you look at
- 9:59Speaker 3: what LSU's I just mentioned Auburn ten and eight away,
- 10:03Speaker 3: five and ozer in neutral sites. LSU's four and oh
- 10:05Speaker 3: and neutral sites, so that could potentially help them. But
- 10:08Speaker 3: they're three and thirteen in true away games, so Auburn
- 10:11Speaker 3: has a winning record in both away and neutral. LSU
- 10:14Speaker 3: really really struggled away from alex Box again, you've had
- 10:17Speaker 3: some neutral sites a little bit earlier in the year,
- 10:19Speaker 3: and then of course of the game last night. But
- 10:21Speaker 3: I just think LSU is in for a tough task.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I would love to see them advance, obviously, because you
- 10:27Speaker 3: want them to get in the SEC tournament, and I
- 10:28Speaker 3: want them to see I want to see him play
- 10:30Speaker 3: Texas A and M again because it gives us an
- 10:32Speaker 3: opportunity to make fun of Texas beat us four times,
- 10:35Speaker 3: That's what Matt Flinn says. They ain't gonna beat us
- 10:37Speaker 3: four times, but it gives us an opportunity to make
- 10:39Speaker 3: fun of Texas A and M. Which who doesn't love
- 10:42Speaker 3: making fun of Texas A and M. But I mean,
- 10:44Speaker 3: do you think, Okay, let's say LSU wins tonight, so
- 10:48Speaker 3: they beat Auburn, you likely will use Case and Evans tonight.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Let's say william schi it'z not available.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So I think by then Zach pitched on Saturday, right, yeah,
- 11:00Speaker 2: cow and pitch Saturday. I think he pitched like fifty
- 11:03Speaker 2: sixty pitches. I think by then maybe we can get
- 11:06Speaker 2: him to go maybe three innings maybe. But I mean
- 11:11Speaker 2: just the rest of the tournament already is just not
- 11:13Speaker 2: stacking up in your favor.
- 11:14Speaker 3: No, it's not.
- 11:15Speaker 2: And it again, that's been the season, Like the season
- 11:18Speaker 2: has not stacked up in your favor every time you
- 11:21Speaker 2: think something's gonna go your way. I mean, good example
- 11:24Speaker 2: of it yesterday was whenever I think it was the
- 11:28Speaker 2: bottom of the fifth inning when Oklahoma came up and
- 11:31Speaker 2: we let them score that one run and the because
- 11:35Speaker 2: of all the errors that we were doing. And so
- 11:37Speaker 2: it's just kind of that's how it's been. Like, I
- 11:42Speaker 2: I know y'all want like x's and o's or whatever,
- 11:44Speaker 2: but it just truly feels like LSU's cursed this season.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Like I don't have any other explanation for it other
- 11:49Speaker 2: than that they and uh hunt, this is a station
- 11:54Speaker 2: survey that's gonna come out I think this weekend. But
- 11:56Speaker 2: just to like give you my answer to it, he asked,
- 11:59Speaker 2: what's the most surprising thing about this season to you?
- 12:01Speaker 2: And it's it is that the team is this bad. Right,
- 12:05Speaker 2: that's obviously surprising, But the more surprising thing to me
- 12:09Speaker 2: is that they're this bad under J. Johnson. Like even
- 12:13Speaker 2: in twenty twenty four, I don't think it was this apathetic.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I don't think that you had this much lack of
- 12:21Speaker 2: fundamentally sound baseball with all the errors and everything. And
- 12:27Speaker 2: I don't think that even the twenty twenty four team.
- 12:30Speaker 2: It feels like this team, some or at least some
- 12:33Speaker 2: of this team is not bought in to what Jay's
- 12:36Speaker 2: philosophy and LSU's philosophy is. And I don't know where
- 12:39Speaker 2: you I don't know where those wires get crossed. I
- 12:42Speaker 2: don't know where that got mixed up. I don't know
- 12:44Speaker 2: what happened in the offseason for them not to get
- 12:47Speaker 2: bought in. But I think that for me, it's just
- 12:53Speaker 2: surprising that this is a J. Johnson led team.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Absolutely, Like you were mentioned in twenty twenty four, I
- 12:58Speaker 3: wanted to pull it up like that was the team
- 13:00Speaker 3: that notoriously started three and twelve. Yeah, in SEC play,
- 13:03Speaker 3: they finished thirteen and seventeen. LSU finished with nine regular
- 13:07Speaker 3: season wins. They were nine and twenty one in conference
- 13:10Speaker 3: heading into that game last night, So I mean it's
- 13:13Speaker 3: it's not even close to your point, Like right now,
- 13:15Speaker 3: LSU SAIDs at thirty wins, they're thirty and twenty seven.
- 13:18Speaker 3: They would have to win thirteen more games to tie
- 13:22Speaker 3: what that twenty twenty four team did. And yes was
- 13:24Speaker 3: a gauge jump was at Luke Coleman, sure, but both
- 13:27Speaker 3: of those were portal guys. It goes back to what
- 13:29Speaker 3: we talked about somehow, Someway. You managed to miss on
- 13:32Speaker 3: pretty much every single portal guy. Like the only guy
- 13:36Speaker 3: to come out of the portal that had been really
- 13:37Speaker 3: good for you this year was Cooper Moore and you
- 13:39Speaker 3: lost him to the season earlier to an arm injury.
- 13:43Speaker 3: So that's even out. Like you thought dard r was
- 13:46Speaker 3: going to be the guy, he's been up and down,
- 13:48Speaker 3: he's been in and out of the lineup with injury.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Zach York is a complete miss. Trent Carroway is a
- 13:53Speaker 3: complete miss. Braden Simpson for that matter, like every single
- 13:57Speaker 3: guy you went to. And I guess that kind of
- 13:59Speaker 3: leads into like maybe what mine would be, right, Like
- 14:02Speaker 3: the pitching staff won because everybody tell that this is
- 14:05Speaker 3: one of the best pitching staffs maybe Jay ever put together,
- 14:08Speaker 3: and that just has not been the case. I mean,
- 14:10Speaker 3: I don't even think you had a true quote unquote
- 14:12Speaker 3: ace on this staff. Like you can go to case
- 14:15Speaker 3: and you can go to Schmidt, but like you have
- 14:16Speaker 3: that one dominant arm, not really at least not consistently
- 14:21Speaker 3: like we've seen flashes from Casein. But how consistent has
- 14:24Speaker 3: that been?
- 14:25Speaker 2: And then you spot right, like to be fair to him.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Yeah, because you're having to play him out of a position.
- 14:31Speaker 3: And we saw it back in twenty nineteen or twenty eighteen,
- 14:36Speaker 3: twenty nineteen. But Zach Hatz he came in as a freshman.
- 14:39Speaker 3: He was a dominant closer, dominant reliever, just like zach
- 14:42Speaker 3: Uh just like Casein Evans. And then when you figured
- 14:46Speaker 3: out it wasn't going to work as a starter, you
- 14:49Speaker 3: had other options, so you were able to move him back.
- 14:51Speaker 3: You don't have the options at this point to move
- 14:55Speaker 3: a guy back. So it's just it's one of those
- 14:58Speaker 3: things where you missed. You're playing guys out of position,
- 15:03Speaker 3: and it's kind of all hands on deck and you're
- 15:05Speaker 3: playing an Auburn team that's well rested. Like I want
- 15:08Speaker 3: to be optimistic, I just I don't know really how
- 15:12Speaker 3: good I feel about this team, because one they're well rested,
- 15:14Speaker 3: two they're already less injured than you, and three they've
- 15:17Speaker 3: been more consistent. Like back to your earlier point, it
- 15:20Speaker 3: just seems like one of those seasons that everything is
- 15:23Speaker 3: working against LSU really in every possible way that it can,
- 15:26Speaker 3: and it just that's probably going to get to you
- 15:29Speaker 3: here tonight.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so I think we have them back, but
- 15:33Speaker 2: they're also kind of chilling, and they don't have their
- 15:36Speaker 2: headphones on, so I don't know if they can even
- 15:37Speaker 2: hear us. But let's just go to break. I have
- 15:40Speaker 2: a recorded live. We'll come back and see if. Hopefully
- 15:44Speaker 2: they're back from First American Bank and Trust out giving
- 15:47Speaker 2: away five hundred American flags. I'm sure it's way less
- 15:50Speaker 2: than five hundred now, but they're at the Dutchtown branch Geismer,
- 15:53Speaker 2: whatever you want to call it. Neither of us know
- 15:55Speaker 2: what is what. None of us here in the foxhole
- 15:58Speaker 2: know if it's Geysmer or own or what. But they're
- 16:01Speaker 2: out there up a highway seventy three. We'll be back
- 16:05Speaker 2: after this here on, off the bench.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Off the bench, all right.
- 16:09Speaker 6: Banking should feel personal, because well it is. At First

- 17:08Speaker 5: First American Banking Trust a fabt dot com got on.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Don't Please two thousand and seven Champs Purple and Gold
- 17:23Speaker 1: to the core. This is Off the Bench with Hester
- 17:27Speaker 1: and Flynn Matton, Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 17:34Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in now were number three here
- 17:35Speaker 3: on off the Bench again. We we We've mentioned it
- 17:38Speaker 3: multiple times, Jacob Matt technical difficulties on the site out
- 17:41Speaker 3: there at First American Bank and Trust. We're there at
- 17:43Speaker 3: the dutch Town location. So we're gonna hang out here,
- 17:46Speaker 3: I mean and Alandra're gonna hang out with you now
- 17:49Speaker 3: till the end of the show. To the fusible future.
- 17:51Speaker 3: We'll figure it out. But uh, we are hanging out
- 17:54Speaker 3: here with you and something I wanted to bring up
- 17:56Speaker 3: real quick. Look, we've been in a lot of baseball talk.
- 17:59Speaker 3: We get it. El Shoes at a disadvantage against Auburn.
- 18:02Speaker 3: They're not very good. They got to win five four
- 18:04Speaker 3: more games to even have a shot at the postseason.
- 18:07Speaker 3: We understand what the task is. Want to move on
- 18:10Speaker 3: real quick. Just a short segment here with the New
- 18:13Speaker 3: Orleans Saints because Juwan Johnson yesterday met with reporters, and
- 18:19Speaker 3: he was asked about the tight end room this year because, look,
- 18:22Speaker 3: Jawan's coming off of a career year, but also at
- 18:24Speaker 3: the same time he made a lot of plays. There
- 18:27Speaker 3: were some plays out there that maybe we thought he
- 18:29Speaker 3: should have made that he didn't. Now his play stepped
- 18:31Speaker 3: up a lot more once Tyler Shark took the reins
- 18:34Speaker 3: of that offense, as it did for a lot of folks.
- 18:36Speaker 3: I mean, we talked about kind of the disappointing start
- 18:39Speaker 3: of the year that a guy like Devon Veley had
- 18:41Speaker 3: Jawan Johnson similar kind of in that same boat. But
- 18:45Speaker 3: him and Tyler Shark seem to have that connection. So
- 18:47Speaker 3: you're hopeful that things will look up for him coming
- 18:50Speaker 3: up in twenty twenty six. But don't forget all of
- 18:53Speaker 3: a sudden, the Saints tight end room looks a lot
- 18:55Speaker 3: different than it did a year ago, and it's very,
- 18:58Speaker 3: very deep. So you add No a fant who is
- 19:02Speaker 3: about as veteran as they come. I mean, he's been
- 19:04Speaker 3: in the league for seven years going on year eight,
- 19:07Speaker 3: and he's bounced around a little bit. I mean started
- 19:09Speaker 3: his career in Denver, was there three years, had some
- 19:12Speaker 3: nice production in Denver, then he moved on to Seattle
- 19:15Speaker 3: again a consistent I mean, this is a five to
- 19:19Speaker 3: six hundred receiving yards per year type a tight end.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I mean, he's not gonna set the world on fire.
- 19:23Speaker 3: He's not going You don't have the next George Kittle
- 19:25Speaker 3: or Travis Kelce in your room with a Noah fan.
- 19:29Speaker 3: But it's a solid player, and more importantly, he's a
- 19:32Speaker 3: bigger body who can block, because that's not really Juwan
- 19:35Speaker 3: Johnson's role. Every time I feel like we mentioned Juwan
- 19:38Speaker 3: playing tight end, it's, oh yeah, he's a receiving guy.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Because he's a converted wide receiver. He's not going to
- 19:42Speaker 3: block for you a ton That was Foster Moro last year.
- 19:45Speaker 3: That's not the case this year. So you bring in
- 19:48Speaker 3: a guy like a Noah fan who can catch the
- 19:49Speaker 3: ball and block a little bit as well. He's coming
- 19:52Speaker 3: off of a year in Cincinnati, played in fifteen games,
- 19:56Speaker 3: only started seven of them, though they kind of had
- 19:59Speaker 3: a tight end by rot last year. But look in
- 20:01Speaker 3: those seven games. I mean the numbers don't jump off
- 20:03Speaker 3: the page at you, but per game it's not bad.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Thirty four catches, two hundred and eighty eight yards and
- 20:08Speaker 3: three touchdowns. And again that's in an offense with Chase Brown,
- 20:13Speaker 3: Jamar Chase T. Higgins like only one football to go around.
- 20:17Speaker 3: I thought he played his role really, really well last
- 20:20Speaker 3: year in Cincinnati. Remember the offense was not the problem
- 20:23Speaker 3: last year for the Bengals. So you have Noah Fan,
- 20:26Speaker 3: you bring in Juwan, who's coming off of a career
- 20:29Speaker 3: year eight hundred and eighty nine yards receiving three touchdowns.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I mean that's almost a double his next best year.
- 20:36Speaker 3: His next best year was the year before five forty
- 20:39Speaker 3: eight and three touchdowns, so he almost doubled his production.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Do I think he's gonna have eight eighty nine this year?
- 20:45Speaker 3: And I don't know. I mean I think with this
- 20:46Speaker 3: tight end by rotation, his wrong numbers might drop a
- 20:50Speaker 3: little bit. But I think maybe we could see a
- 20:51Speaker 3: little bit more consistency now that it's a full year
- 20:54Speaker 3: with Tyler Shock, a little bit more down in, down out,
- 20:58Speaker 3: Like oh, I didn't see a mistake here by Juwan,
- 21:00Speaker 3: A lot more effishing player because you got Juwan, you
- 21:03Speaker 3: got no A Fan. But you also bring in Oscar Delp.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Remember you got Oscar Delp third round. It was seventy
- 21:10Speaker 3: third overall, So pretty high in the third round. Played
- 21:14Speaker 3: at Georgia for four years, and you know, his first
- 21:16Speaker 3: two years he said behind brock Bowers. And coming into
- 21:19Speaker 3: the twenty twenty four season, I remember this vividly, everyone said, oh,
- 21:25Speaker 3: George is gonna George's got the next brock Bowers in
- 21:27Speaker 3: the room already it's Oscar Delp. Well, you know, their
- 21:30Speaker 3: quarterback situation was kind of up and down. You had
- 21:32Speaker 3: Carson back. You know, he was not nearly as good
- 21:36Speaker 3: as he was in Miami. At Georgia. I still think
- 21:37Speaker 3: he was solid. I thought he got a lot of
- 21:39Speaker 3: hated Georgia, but look, he wasn't Stet's Abitt who was
- 21:44Speaker 3: everything for that team. So kind of an up and
- 21:46Speaker 3: down year's first year Georgia twenty catches, two hundred and
- 21:48Speaker 3: forty eight yards, four touchdowns, and then last year his
- 21:53Speaker 3: production dipped even more. But they didn't use him in
- 21:57Speaker 3: that brock Bowers role. They used them as more of
- 21:59Speaker 3: that tradition blocking style tight end. They had two or
- 22:01Speaker 3: three tight ends they kind of like to rotate. So
- 22:03Speaker 3: two hundred and sixty one yards receiving just one touchdown,
- 22:06Speaker 3: but the athleticism jumps off the page at you when
- 22:09Speaker 3: you see Oscar Delp, there's a reason this guy winning
- 22:12Speaker 3: Round three, and there's a reason everybody loves this pick.
- 22:14Speaker 3: So when I look at a guy like Oscar Delp,
- 22:18Speaker 3: I'm thinking, Okay, athletic freak. He's a guy that could
- 22:21Speaker 3: come in. He can line up inside, he can line
- 22:23Speaker 3: up outside, very similar to a Juwan Johnson. And then
- 22:26Speaker 3: when I look at Fant again, he's been a receiving
- 22:29Speaker 3: threat throughout most of his NFL career, I think he's
- 22:31Speaker 3: going to be more of the blocker of the three.
- 22:33Speaker 3: But also Delp can do that as well, because again
- 22:36Speaker 3: he was asked to do that last year at Georgia
- 22:38Speaker 3: and actually did a pretty good job of it. And
- 22:41Speaker 3: I mean, nobody seems more excited than Juwan Johnson. Like
- 22:45Speaker 3: at first you're thinking, Okay, you know, Juwan's got competition
- 22:47Speaker 3: this year, how does he feel about it? When he
- 22:49Speaker 3: was asked about Noah Fan, he said, I think he
- 22:51Speaker 3: should have just came here last year. I don't know
- 22:53Speaker 3: why he wanted to go to Cincinnati and hang out
- 22:54Speaker 3: with Joe Burrow, but I'm glad he's here now. So
- 22:57Speaker 3: I mean it seems like he is all in on
- 22:59Speaker 3: having hell in that tight end room. He mentioned Oscar
- 23:02Speaker 3: Delp He's like, look, he's very fast, he's an explosive athlete,
- 23:05Speaker 3: got a lot of attributes that everyone's excited about. We
- 23:08Speaker 3: got a night's tight end room. I will say that, Yeah,
- 23:11Speaker 3: I would say that as well. I think that's kind
- 23:13Speaker 3: of one of the positions not being talked about enough
- 23:16Speaker 3: here for the Saints, because it was all, can you
- 23:19Speaker 3: build running back depth? Can you build dB depth? What
- 23:23Speaker 3: are you gonna do with pass rusher? You need help
- 23:25Speaker 3: from receivers outside of Chris Alave And I thought you
- 23:28Speaker 3: did all of that in the draft, and I thought
- 23:30Speaker 3: you did a pretty good job of it. But I mean,
- 23:31Speaker 3: think about tight end. Taysom Hill, as of right now,
- 23:34Speaker 3: does not have a contract. Mickey Limas said that just
- 23:37Speaker 3: over the weekend. Foster Morrow currently not on this roster.
- 23:41Speaker 3: So you went from those three guys to just Juwan Johnson,
- 23:45Speaker 3: and again Juwan not that traditional tight end. So what
- 23:48Speaker 3: do you do. You go get a guy that can
- 23:50Speaker 3: be that true why tight end if you will, that's
- 23:52Speaker 3: a seven year NFL VET and still has a lot
- 23:54Speaker 3: of tread on the tires, and then you go get
- 23:56Speaker 3: an explosive athlete there was maybe a little underutilized in
- 23:59Speaker 3: college in a guy like Oscar Delp. I don't think
- 24:02Speaker 3: any of these guys are going to be like top
- 24:04Speaker 3: ten tight end in the NFL, but the combination of
- 24:07Speaker 3: all three, all three guys a little bit different. I'm
- 24:10Speaker 3: kind of excited to see what they can do alongside
- 24:12Speaker 3: Tyle of Shock. All right, we'll take a quick time
- 24:14Speaker 3: out when we get back, talk a little bit more,
- 24:16Speaker 3: Will Wade. We'll probably just keep it here the remainder
- 24:19Speaker 3: of the show, and then we'll close it out like
- 24:20Speaker 3: we do every day, with some ass of the bench.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Off the bench, all right, Good to get Gordon dot com.

- 25:31Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 25:43Speaker 3: All right, welcome back an I number three. Here on
- 25:45Speaker 3: a Wednesday edition of Off the Bench, Taylor show up
- 25:48Speaker 3: a Londra villarrial back in the Raisin Canes studio and look,
- 25:52Speaker 3: we're gonna finish this thing out for you. We got
- 25:54Speaker 3: connection issues, We apologize and it's about thirty minutes away.
- 25:57Speaker 3: There's really no point in Jake and mac com back.
- 26:01Speaker 3: So look we're just gonna knock this thing out. We've
- 26:03Speaker 3: covered a lot of different topics. I mean we've hit
- 26:05Speaker 3: on LSU baseball plenty heading into this, but I would
- 26:10Speaker 3: consider a really tall task against the Auburn Tigers tonight
- 26:13Speaker 3: in the SEC Tournament. I mean, we discuss all things
- 26:16Speaker 3: NBA Alundra Spurs, Jake's Nicks. Are they prepared for a
- 26:20Speaker 3: NBA Finals clash? I'm ready for it. I mean I'm
- 26:22Speaker 3: ready to just be a true fen sitter here and
- 26:24Speaker 3: kind of take jabs at one side or the other
- 26:26Speaker 3: because I don't have a dog in the fight. But
- 26:28Speaker 3: it'll be fun none the last we had a little
- 26:30Speaker 3: New Orleans Saints. I mean, we've kind of done it
- 26:32Speaker 3: all here. But something I did want to bring up
- 26:36Speaker 3: was usually dropped a little bit yesterday, and this is
- 26:40Speaker 3: in the NFL. Can't the City Chiefs receiver Rashi Rice.
- 26:45Speaker 3: If you remember back in twenty twenty four, Rice was
- 26:50Speaker 3: driving his Lamborghini high rate of speed on that North
- 26:53Speaker 3: Dallas Expressway. It led to the multi car crash. Multiple
- 26:57Speaker 3: people were injured because of that, and you know he
- 27:00Speaker 3: was charged for it. Well, he's currently on probation, except
- 27:04Speaker 3: he's now going to have to spend thirty days in
- 27:06Speaker 3: jail due to a violation of his parole for testing
- 27:11Speaker 3: positive for marijuana. Some people, I feel don't have the
- 27:18Speaker 3: ability to not screw up. Like, first off, if I'm
- 27:23Speaker 3: the Kansas City chiefs, I want to know why you're
- 27:25Speaker 3: still standing by this dude, because, yes, he's been pretty good,
- 27:29Speaker 3: He's been a productive receiver. He's coming off of an injury.
- 27:32Speaker 3: He basically didn't play all last year. For you, he
- 27:34Speaker 3: just had another cleanup procedure. Now, it didn't appear to
- 27:37Speaker 3: be anything series, very similar to Elite Neighbors's cleanup procedure,
- 27:41Speaker 3: just kind of going in and getting a lot of
- 27:42Speaker 3: scar tissue out. Now you have this, what's next for
- 27:47Speaker 3: Rashi Rise. It's like, I understand you went six and
- 27:50Speaker 3: eleven last year because she didn't have a number one receiver,
- 27:55Speaker 3: But Travis Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes have won a lot
- 27:57Speaker 3: of games without Rashi Rice. I don't really see what
- 28:00Speaker 3: the end goal here is for a team like Kansas
- 28:03Speaker 3: City and a player like Rashi Rice. It doesn't make
- 28:06Speaker 3: a ton of sense to me. I think if Andy
- 28:11Speaker 3: Reid wasn't so likable, we would look at the Kansas
- 28:15Speaker 3: City Chiefs a lot differently. It's just when you're winning,
- 28:18Speaker 3: things like this fall by the wayside. It's not the
- 28:22Speaker 3: first time something like this happened with the Chiefs. I
- 28:23Speaker 3: remember everybody, everybody praised the Chiefs for releasing Kareem Hunt.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Remember the video came out, the awful video of him
- 28:32Speaker 3: with the domestic abuse with a female acquaintance, girlfriend, whatever
- 28:38Speaker 3: she was at the time, and they released it. Man,
- 28:41Speaker 3: And that was the right thing to do. But I mean,
- 28:43Speaker 3: don't forget like Tyreek Hills had had a little bit
- 28:46Speaker 3: of a checkered past too. Now I was back in
- 28:47Speaker 3: college at Oklahoma State, but the Chiefs had him, and
- 28:51Speaker 3: I mean they didn't move on from him because of that.
- 28:53Speaker 3: They moved on from him because he got a bigger
- 28:55Speaker 3: contract with the Miami Dolphins. Now you have this like
- 28:58Speaker 3: I like Andy Reid, but he just seems like winning
- 29:01Speaker 3: kinda puts everything else by the wayside. But you're six
- 29:05Speaker 3: and eleven last year, you're number one receiver, the only
- 29:08Speaker 3: guy who really looks like he could be a threat
- 29:11Speaker 3: in this offense outside of Travis Kelsey, because I mean,
- 29:14Speaker 3: let's be honest, outside of he she Rice. This team
- 29:16Speaker 3: struggled last year to get consistent guys open downfield. It's
- 29:20Speaker 3: part of the reason Mahomes was hit so much last year,
- 29:23Speaker 3: which honestly ultimately led to his injury. They have really
- 29:26Speaker 3: nothing outside of her she Rice right now, like Travis
- 29:30Speaker 3: Kelsey is getting older. A lot of people didn't even
- 29:31Speaker 3: think he was gonna come back this year. We're coming
- 29:34Speaker 3: off of a six and eleven season, and then when
- 29:37Speaker 3: you look at their division, I think Denver's one of
- 29:39Speaker 3: the best teams in the NFL. I think Denver had
- 29:42Speaker 3: a really good shot to go to the Super Bowl
- 29:43Speaker 3: if bo Knicks doesn't break his foot in that wild
- 29:46Speaker 3: overtime game against the Bills. The Chargers, like look Jake
- 29:51Speaker 3: mentions the Bush League boltch right, the Chargers are gonna
- 29:54Speaker 3: charger their damn good regular season team and really with
- 29:57Speaker 3: Harball and Herbert there as long as everyone stays hell,
- 30:00Speaker 3: you imagine that's going to happen once again this year.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Now when they get in the playoffs, it's going to
- 30:04Speaker 3: be a completely different story. But I don't think Mahomes
- 30:08Speaker 3: is going to be fully healthy till October. I mean,
- 30:10Speaker 3: he tore that ACL December eleventh, December fourteenth, somewhere in there.
- 30:15Speaker 3: I mean, even if you're back in nine months, let's
- 30:18Speaker 3: say ten months to fully recover, that's a tope. So
- 30:22Speaker 3: I'm not even sure if Mahomes starts the season. Kelsey
- 30:25Speaker 3: appears to be in his last year. Maybe maybe not,
- 30:27Speaker 3: But you know, there was rumblands last year that this
- 30:30Speaker 3: was going to be his final season. Who knows what's
- 30:33Speaker 3: going to happen with Rashi Rice. You were six and
- 30:35Speaker 3: eleven last year. You're trending in the wrong direction. I
- 30:38Speaker 3: just mentioned the Broncos and the Chargers. How good I
- 30:41Speaker 3: think those two teams are. The Raiders were kind of
- 30:44Speaker 3: the one where the Chiefs could hang their hat and say, hey,
- 30:47Speaker 3: we haven't fallen too far behind. The Raiders are still there. Sure,
- 30:51Speaker 3: but you just drafted Fernando Mendoza, who a lot of
- 30:53Speaker 3: people expect to be a pretty good quarterback. And even
- 30:56Speaker 3: if he's not ready, you got Kirk Cousins or whatever
- 30:59Speaker 3: you think of Kirk Chains. He is a heck of
- 31:01Speaker 3: a lot better than what you had last year with
- 31:03Speaker 3: Gino Smith. That's just a fact. Even if Cousins is
- 31:06Speaker 3: falling off and he'll never be that quarterback that the
- 31:09Speaker 3: Falcons paid him to be. Right after that Achilles Tear.
- 31:12Speaker 3: I still think he's a better quarterback than Gino Smith.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Like those two years in Seattle is consistent in his
- 31:19Speaker 3: study as Geno was. Right now that appears to be
- 31:22Speaker 3: the outlier because last year was really bad. It's not
- 31:26Speaker 3: really going into a better situation this year either. Like
- 31:29Speaker 3: you get a quarterback to New York Jets, congrats Bud.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Like that. That's part of the reason I did not
- 31:33Speaker 3: like the New York Judts draft picks because they traded
- 31:36Speaker 3: back into the first round. They got three first round picks.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I think they're all awesome. I mean, now, you got
- 31:41Speaker 3: Garrett Wilson, you got Omar Cooper junior, you got Kenyan
- 31:44Speaker 3: Sadik and Mason Taylor at tight end, you got Breeze
- 31:47Speaker 3: Hall at running back, and he got Geno Smith. Getting
- 31:50Speaker 3: them all the football, I just don't know how much
- 31:53Speaker 3: that's going to help you. Now. You can't really build
- 31:55Speaker 3: towards the future because you picked all three of those
- 31:57Speaker 3: guys this year. If you find your right quarterback, that
- 32:00Speaker 3: could have worked out. But back to the Raiders, I
- 32:03Speaker 3: think I think Cousins is a big upgrade from a
- 32:06Speaker 3: guy like a Gino Smith. And then ultimately you know win.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Fernando Mendoz's already at some point this year he's going
- 32:13Speaker 3: to take over. I think he's going to be a
- 32:15Speaker 3: lot better. They tried to shore up their offensive line.
- 32:18Speaker 3: You have Ashton Genty. If you can get him some
- 32:20Speaker 3: running room, maybe he can make some things happen. Like
- 32:23Speaker 3: I'm not saying the Raiders are contenders. I still think
- 32:24Speaker 3: they're going to be pretty bad. But if you're the Chiefs,
- 32:28Speaker 3: you're not getting any younger. Your young talent continues to
- 32:31Speaker 3: get in trouble, as is in the case of Rashid.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Rice and Boenick and Justin Herbert are young guys. They're
- 32:36Speaker 3: not going anywhere. Sean Payton appears like he's locked in.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Jim Harbaugh's locked in. How much longer does Andy Reid have?
- 32:45Speaker 3: You have the oldest coach in the division, a quarterback
- 32:49Speaker 3: who as great as he is, coming off of a
- 32:51Speaker 3: knee injury where he tore multiple ligaments, an aging tight
- 32:54Speaker 3: end who looks like he's in his last year, no
- 32:57Speaker 3: real receiving threats that can consistently stay out of trouble
- 32:59Speaker 3: and stay on the field for you, what's your running
- 33:01Speaker 3: game going to look like? Sure, you have Kenneth Walker,
- 33:04Speaker 3: But how's that offensive line gonna hold up? It was
- 33:06Speaker 3: bad a year ago, and everyone else in your division
- 33:09Speaker 3: is getting better. The Kansas City Chiefs have been the
- 33:13Speaker 3: premier team and the talk of the town in the
- 33:15Speaker 3: NFL for five or six years now, and rightfully so
- 33:19Speaker 3: how long can that last? Though? Like I think that's
- 33:22Speaker 3: what's the most impressive thing about a team like the
- 33:24Speaker 3: New England Patriots, they basically had two separate dynasties because
- 33:27Speaker 3: early on in Brady's career he won what three Super
- 33:30Speaker 3: Bowls in his first six years, not unlike Mahomes. Then
- 33:33Speaker 3: you saw that little bit of a fall off where
- 33:35Speaker 3: all those veterans that were there when Brady was young
- 33:37Speaker 3: were retiring. But then they built it back up and
- 33:39Speaker 3: he went won three more of those things. Can the
- 33:42Speaker 3: Kansas City Chiefs do the same thing. I'm not sure,
- 33:44Speaker 3: because I don't know if Andy Reid's gonna be coaching
- 33:47Speaker 3: that long before he retires. You're not really gonna have
- 33:50Speaker 3: anyone that can grow with Mahomes, because I think Kelsey's
- 33:53Speaker 3: gonna hang it up before that time comes. Like you'll
- 33:55Speaker 3: have Mahomes, you'll have your veteran quarterback and I mean,
- 33:58Speaker 3: let's be honest, if you have Patrick Mahomes, you have
- 34:00Speaker 3: a shot. But I mean outside of that, what is
- 34:04Speaker 3: this team going to look like moving forward? I'm just
- 34:07Speaker 3: not sure. Like, yes, man, Sword de Lane's great, you
- 34:10Speaker 3: lost both your starting corners a year ago, both of
- 34:12Speaker 3: them to the LA Rams. Ironically, I don't know how
- 34:16Speaker 3: long this dynasty can last. Like, again, you have Patrick Mahomes,
- 34:20Speaker 3: you have a shot. That division's tough, it's getting tougher.
- 34:23Speaker 3: The Chiefs just kind of seem like maybe they're spinning
- 34:27Speaker 3: their wheels and they're not really going anywhere anywhere fast.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Like I guess the point to all of this is,
- 34:34Speaker 3: are the chiefs of that desperated wide receiver where they're
- 34:37Speaker 3: gonna continue to hold on to Rashi Rise? Because like,
- 34:39Speaker 3: if I'm Rashi Rice and I have a forty million
- 34:42Speaker 3: dollar contract offer potentially on the table, I don't know
- 34:45Speaker 3: what the deal is, but that's kind of the going
- 34:47Speaker 3: to rate right now. I'm gonna do everything I can
- 34:52Speaker 3: to not screw anything up to make sure I at
- 34:54Speaker 3: least get that money. First. Remember, Rashi Rises on this
- 34:56Speaker 3: rookie deal, they can move on from him after this season.
- 35:00Speaker 3: And I mean that's it. Pay him a couple of
- 35:02Speaker 3: mil and then he's out of there, which is exactly
- 35:06Speaker 3: what I think they should do. Will they I don't know.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I feel like they probably should have already done that.
- 35:10Speaker 3: But you see these receivers get these big contracts. You
- 35:14Speaker 3: saw it with Brandon Ayuk. He got the big deal
- 35:16Speaker 3: and I'm not even sure if he's been inside the
- 35:18Speaker 3: forty nine ers facility since he got that deal. Deebo
- 35:21Speaker 3: got that deal, he fell off. If you're the Kansas
- 35:25Speaker 3: City Chiefs, I don't think you can afford to hold
- 35:29Speaker 3: on to Rashi Rice and pay him right now. I
- 35:30Speaker 3: think you got to move on again. I'm not sure
- 35:32Speaker 3: they will, but look, it's an interesting story to follow him.
- 35:36Speaker 3: It's one of those things where you're like, Okay, you
- 35:37Speaker 3: reach the mountain top, how long can you stay there?
- 35:40Speaker 3: We'll see what happens with it. Team like the Kansas
- 35:42Speaker 3: City Chiefs. Right Look, what we're gonna do now is
- 35:44Speaker 3: we're gonna take a little bit of an earlier break.
- 35:46Speaker 3: We're finally gonna have an extended ass the bench. It
- 35:48Speaker 3: only took Matt and Jake to both be out of studio.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Me and Landra we're gonna do a full ass the
- 35:53Speaker 3: Bench brought to you by Dosakis. That's coming up next
- 35:56Speaker 3: here on Off the.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Bench, Off the Bench, from the locker room to the airwaves.
- 36:04Speaker 1: It's Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 36:15Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in final segment here on a
- 36:18Speaker 3: Wednesday edition of Off the Bench, Taylor Sharp at landra
- 36:20Speaker 3: hillaryal back inside the Raisin Kanes studio. We are not
- 36:24Speaker 3: at first American banking dress out there in Dutchtown. Jacob
- 36:28Speaker 3: Matt held it down for the first two hours or so. Look,
- 36:30Speaker 3: it was just it's internet connection, guys, we're on remote.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Unfortunately things like that happened. We weren't able to reconnect.
- 36:36Speaker 3: So look, we're gonna take you the next now nine
- 36:39Speaker 3: minutes or so to finish this thing out. A lot
- 36:43Speaker 3: of Ask the Bench questions in the chat. We'll get
- 36:44Speaker 3: to those in just a second. Do want to remind
- 36:46Speaker 3: you that Ask the Bench, brought to you every single
- 36:48Speaker 3: day by dose echis okay, first ask the Bench question,
- 36:54Speaker 3: it's actually asked. The producers. Love that Carly, best Christmas
- 36:58Speaker 3: gift you've.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Ever got an espresso machine.
- 37:02Speaker 3: I love that you were so ready.
- 37:04Speaker 2: For the best gift I've ever gotten.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Guys. You see this girl bringing her coffee every morning.
- 37:09Speaker 3: I totally believe that. My so, right after I turned sixteen.
- 37:16Speaker 3: So I turned sixteen in September, I got a I
- 37:20Speaker 3: got my first car for Christmas. I mean, that's obviously
- 37:23Speaker 3: the answer. Not sure if that counts out. Yeah, I
- 37:26Speaker 3: remember the fourth grade, all my buddies, you know, we
- 37:30Speaker 3: we're all getting the new gaming systems. Right when the
- 37:32Speaker 3: first Xbox three sixty came out, the original one got
- 37:36Speaker 3: that for Christmas. That was like, God, you were cool
- 37:39Speaker 3: in fourth grade if he got that as a Christmas gift.
- 37:41Speaker 3: So that's probably one. But the silver and black Jeep
- 37:44Speaker 3: Wrangler back in twenty thirteen was It's probably the answer.
- 37:50Speaker 3: But again, you know, kind of a cop out answer
- 37:52Speaker 3: because you can't really compete with that nookie. I cannot
- 37:56Speaker 3: ask your next question, but to answer it for you, yes,
- 37:59Speaker 3: I do.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Come what is it?
- 38:03Speaker 3: Ask the producers? How do you quell your road rage?
- 38:06Speaker 3: So I can't, so okay, I don't either. You guys
- 38:11Speaker 3: know I love to come up eating here and complain
- 38:13Speaker 3: about the traffic. It's one of my favorite things to do.
- 38:15Speaker 3: You guys, I'll pick on me for it. It's not
- 38:17Speaker 3: just me long drive, the traffic issues this morning. Not me, Okay,
- 38:20Speaker 3: it's not just me.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I had to go out to dutch Town, Guysmer or
- 38:24Speaker 2: whatever you want to call it, earlier this morning to
- 38:26Speaker 2: go drop something off for Cassie, and I'm like driving
- 38:31Speaker 2: there and driving back, and I'm just thinking, the standards
- 38:33Speaker 2: to become a semi truck driver have to be incredibly low,
- 38:37Speaker 2: like they must hire pretty much anybody, because why are
- 38:42Speaker 2: you going sixty five in the passing lane when the
- 38:45Speaker 2: speed limits seventy and your friend over here is also
- 38:48Speaker 2: going sixty five, so I can't get around either of you.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I feel like they do it intentionally. They do always
- 38:53Speaker 3: hurt right next week.
- 38:54Speaker 2: No, if you want to go that's there's nothing that
- 38:56Speaker 2: I can do to control myself for how much I
- 38:58Speaker 2: rage out about it.
- 38:59Speaker 3: If you want to go that speed, fine, get out
- 39:01Speaker 3: the pass it's called the right lane. Get in that
- 39:04Speaker 3: far right lane. Let everybody else pass you.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Really not there, like you're not going why are you
- 39:10Speaker 2: even there?
- 39:12Speaker 3: You're dropping from here to Lake Charles. You don't even
- 39:14Speaker 3: need to be in that lane anyway. It's like, just
- 39:16Speaker 3: just get it'll make It'll make you less mad because
- 39:19Speaker 3: people are honking at you. It'll make people like me
- 39:21Speaker 3: and a Landra who have like your refuses on the
- 39:23Speaker 3: roadway a lot more happy.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Like I'm supposed to go to rejuven me today to
- 39:28Speaker 2: get my blood drawn and get my labs done, and
- 39:31Speaker 2: like between road rage and the internet over there not working,
- 39:37Speaker 2: they're gonna tell me my Cortisol is like.
- 39:39Speaker 3: No, they're gonna they're gonna come in and they're gonna
- 39:41Speaker 3: be like a Landra, Unfortunately we can't do anything. We're
- 39:44Speaker 3: also sending you to the hospital. Yeah, nothing, nothing we
- 39:48Speaker 3: can do for here. That's that's happening. It's it's been
- 39:50Speaker 3: tense over here. But uh, to answer your question, I
- 39:53Speaker 3: mean you could see the rant we just went on.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Know nothing nothing really quells the uh the road rage,
- 39:58Speaker 3: and like, well it's one of those things. Also, like
- 40:00Speaker 3: the rain this morning made it worse because when it
- 40:04Speaker 3: rains a third of the people forget what to do. Entirely.
- 40:08Speaker 3: A third of the people are like, I'm gonna go forty,
- 40:11Speaker 3: and then the last thirds like I'm still gonna go
- 40:13Speaker 3: eighty five.
- 40:14Speaker 2: You know what else I was thinking about is that
- 40:17Speaker 2: because it wasn't straight up raining, when I was on
- 40:20Speaker 2: my way over there, but there was water on the
- 40:22Speaker 2: street and so people were throwing it. You know, the
- 40:25Speaker 2: tires will spray it on you. That's almost more annoying
- 40:29Speaker 2: to drive through than it is.
- 40:30Speaker 3: It's worse, it's worse. Yep, we were uh, we were
- 40:33Speaker 3: doing uh. It's it's that time of uhlanda. We got
- 40:37Speaker 3: like two months left till uh. That's crazy, baby Griff
- 40:39Speaker 3: gets heres. We were touring a couple of pediatrics razed yesterday. Yes, yes, Razor,
- 40:44Speaker 3: my bad misspoke there.
- 40:46Speaker 2: I know that's not his name. That's crazy.
- 40:48Speaker 3: No one, no one is going to call that kid
- 40:50Speaker 3: bys and they it's gonna be Razor. I'm kind of
- 40:53Speaker 3: here for it. I'm good when he was. We were
- 40:54Speaker 3: touring pediatricians yesterday. First one was out where we live,
- 40:58Speaker 3: but the second one was was over here in ben Jena.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Like when I got out from behind the eighteen wheelers,
- 41:04Speaker 3: I felt like it was barely rainy and it was storming,
- 41:05Speaker 3: just because they throw up that much freaking water behind him, Like,
- 41:09Speaker 3: I can't do it. Ask the bench who has had
- 41:15Speaker 3: the biggest rage moment in the office, and what was
- 41:17Speaker 3: it about? Matthew Musso twice a week, Randow, so every.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Single day, not even twice a week, it's every day.
- 41:23Speaker 2: He's like cussing to himself.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Finish, it doesn't matter what it is. Look, I got
- 41:26Speaker 3: Musso works hard and he's hard on himself. So that's
- 41:29Speaker 3: something you'll notice. Yeah, it's uh.
- 41:31Speaker 2: I think everybody would say the same thing.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Well, like I got I got a desk like right
- 41:35Speaker 3: by his and like I'll be sitting there. You know,
- 41:37Speaker 3: it's it's a little bit slower. I'm getting ready to
- 41:39Speaker 3: pack up and leave for the day, and I just
- 41:41Speaker 3: I hear rage, yeah, and chaos. I'm like, this looks good.
- 41:45Speaker 3: It's two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday. Man, we good.
- 41:47Speaker 2: One time, I think I left my charger here or something.
- 41:51Speaker 2: So I came up here at like seven pm at night. Yeah,
- 41:55Speaker 2: so nobody is here and I'm coming up and I
- 42:00Speaker 2: just hear Muso just raging in his office, and I'm like,
- 42:04Speaker 2: who's cussing at themselves right now? Is Moose?
- 42:07Speaker 3: Let me tell you something o'clock at night? Moose is
- 42:09Speaker 3: just I highly recommend this if you could ever do it.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Watch an LSU baseball game with Matt moosehome It was
- 42:15Speaker 3: the friday you were in Starkville. Yeah, Matt was on remote.
- 42:20Speaker 3: It was on remote. Me and Moose were doing AFR.
- 42:22Speaker 3: I was doing it with him. It was it was
- 42:24Speaker 3: a sight to see. I got scared for my safety
- 42:26Speaker 3: at some point and he wasn't even yelling at me.
- 42:28Speaker 3: It was Uh, it was quite fun. I really enjoyed it.
- 42:31Speaker 3: I know our guys h quite passionate. Uh about those
- 42:34Speaker 3: LSU tigers asked the bench, Taylor, did you sabotage the
- 42:37Speaker 3: feed solely because of the flag giveaway? No, guys, I didn't.
- 42:42Speaker 3: I mean, okay, I didn't just give it up. It
- 42:45Speaker 3: did not do it. Now, like, did I have the
- 42:50Speaker 3: British flag? That's that that's lips are sealed on. Now,
- 42:54Speaker 3: we're not gonna bring that up.
- 42:55Speaker 2: I wonder how many they ended up giving away.
- 42:58Speaker 3: I think he I think that's a two, But that
- 43:00Speaker 3: was back at I.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Think he was as though. I don't think that was
- 43:03Speaker 2: like an actual number.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Let's see, you know what, consider the so words. You're right, yes,
- 43:07Speaker 3: you're right there. The chances of that being accurate pretty
- 43:10Speaker 3: pretty low right there.
- 43:13Speaker 2: I don't see anything else.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Anyways, guys, we.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Are how long can ta Tago. Oh my gosh. So
- 43:21Speaker 2: I'm just glad that this happened with Taylor and not
- 43:25Speaker 2: like somebody filling in for him, because this man can
- 43:27Speaker 2: just it's absurd, Like it's truly baffling to me, how
- 43:32Speaker 2: Taylor can just fire off takes and has so many
- 43:37Speaker 2: of them and can just go and go and go
- 43:39Speaker 2: like that. We were we had no plan going into
- 43:42Speaker 2: this at all. No, not really, like obviously we don't
- 43:45Speaker 2: plan for having to host the show back in the studio,
- 43:49Speaker 2: and so all of that was Taylor just like riffing.
- 43:53Speaker 2: That was just in his head. It's crazy, and it's
- 43:56Speaker 2: all day too, him and Jordan or like him and
- 43:59Speaker 2: musa man.
- 44:01Speaker 3: This will probably only get worse the longer we've been married.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Sometimes Victoria hates it when I come home because I'm like, hey,
- 44:06Speaker 3: guess what happened to work today? Boo boo boo boo boo.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Boo bom, Like, hey, was blessed me?
- 44:10Speaker 3: How was it? The Layne Kiffin press conference and this occurred,
- 44:12Speaker 3: and this was like how was your day? She's like, oh, well,
- 44:15Speaker 3: you know, I did some spreadsheets and filed some of
- 44:17Speaker 3: this away, and I'm like great, cool back to me, Yeah,
- 44:21Speaker 3: that's that's that's kind of where we're going.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Some time.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Gold South. Imagine Cassie filling in for Tata Landra would
- 44:28Speaker 2: have blown a fuse. No, I would have just like
- 44:30Speaker 2: talked about stupid stuff that nobody wants to hear. I
- 44:33Speaker 2: maybe would have given you, like a Will Wade take.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I would have given you some more baseball stuff. I
- 44:38Speaker 2: don't have any Saints takes locked and loaded for you
- 44:40Speaker 2: right now. I truly don't. I'm locked out of that
- 44:43Speaker 2: until maybe August.
- 44:45Speaker 3: Spaceball's just depressing.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Yeah, so I would have maybe talked more about I mean,
- 44:50Speaker 2: even Diana Roussini is not even interesting anymore.
- 44:53Speaker 3: We need some Diana stuff. Okay, wait, so right that
- 44:56Speaker 3: guy is gonna be some reporter that's being a photo.
- 44:59Speaker 2: For decade or see custom cards. I think that's what
- 45:03Speaker 2: it is. Let me get it right. Force custom Cards,
- 45:05Speaker 2: the ones that made the card of Jake and Matt together.
- 45:09Speaker 2: He sent me a video yesterday. He made custom Diana
- 45:14Speaker 2: Rusini and Mike Brable cards. Okay, Force custom cards, go look.
- 45:19Speaker 3: It up one day. There's my soul. There's there's some
- 45:23Speaker 3: of that to get out there. That's gonna be like,
- 45:24Speaker 3: you know, what I'm buying them. I'm getting them. They're
- 45:26Speaker 3: gonna they're gonna just pay way more than what that
- 45:29Speaker 3: card is worth. H MSA says Taylor absolutely sabotaged the remote. Yeah,
- 45:32Speaker 3: guys know, I didn't. I went over there this morning.
- 45:34Speaker 3: I brought him coffee. I cut one's true and then
- 45:37Speaker 3: that was it. Okay, Like I didn't do anything.
- 45:41Speaker 2: So anyways, is it Geismer or is it dutch Town
- 45:45Speaker 2: or is it both?
- 45:45Speaker 3: I think the address is Guysmer the address said. Guys, Yeah,
- 45:48Speaker 3: I think the address is called I mean I I'm
- 45:51Speaker 3: one of those people that's like it's either Bad Rouge,
- 45:53Speaker 3: Lived Superisrigansus. Right, those are the three places around here
- 45:56Speaker 3: that I know. So it is what it is, all right, guys.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Hectic show. So we did it. Yeah, hectic, and you
- 46:03Speaker 3: know we rolled with the punches here me Anda Landra
- 46:05Speaker 3: back at studio. Shout out to Jake and Matt. They
- 46:07Speaker 3: went to the right location, which is really all we
- 46:09Speaker 3: asked them to do. And Cassie, we know she's going
- 46:12Speaker 3: through it as well, so uh, that's going to do it.
- 46:15Speaker 3: Wednesday edition of Off the Bench. Jac and Matt back
- 46:18Speaker 3: in studio tomorrow we're recapping LSU Auburn Stay tuned off
- 46:22Speaker 3: the bench
