Latest / Foul Territory / Ken Rosenthal's Inside Scoop: MacKenzie Gore trade, Freddy Peralta deal, Framber & Scherzer thoughts
Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: It's the inside scoop with that FT senior insider Ken Rosenthal. Ken,
- 0:09Speaker 1: your thoughts on this Mackenzie Gore trade. Let's start with
- 0:11Speaker 1: the Rangers and what you think you know it does
- 0:14Speaker 1: to the twenty twenty six team and how this deal
- 0:17Speaker 1: breaks down for them. They didn't give up their tippy
- 0:19Speaker 1: top prospect in this one right.
- 0:21Speaker 2: For the Rangers, this is a move that is somewhat
- 0:24Speaker 2: surprising because it's a win now move for a team
- 0:27Speaker 2: that was intensely disappointing last season, a team that is
- 0:32Speaker 2: not able to spend a lot of money because of
- 0:34Speaker 2: the uncertainty with their TV revenue and some other factors
- 0:37Speaker 2: as well. So I don't know that anyone anticipated the
- 0:40Speaker 2: Rangers being an aggressive player, but here they are, and
- 0:44Speaker 2: this is a move that when you put Mackenzie Gore
- 0:48Speaker 2: with Jacob de Gram and some of the others in
- 0:50Speaker 2: their rotation, it starts to look like a pretty impressive group.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Nathan Valdi, the whole gang. That is where it starts
- 0:56Speaker 2: for them.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Now.
- 0:57Speaker 2: The question with the Rangers last year was what their offense.
- 1:00Speaker 2: They did not produce offensively. They were incredibly disappointing. They're
- 1:04Speaker 2: counting on bouncebacks from a number of their younger players,
- 1:07Speaker 2: improvements from those players, and we'll see where this goes
- 1:11Speaker 2: for them. But it's a move that in their minds,
- 1:14Speaker 2: they had to make because they want to compete. Chris Young,
- 1:17Speaker 2: their president baseball operations, is incredibly competitive. He was as
- 1:20Speaker 2: a player, he is as an executive, and in their view,
- 1:25Speaker 2: they're not giving up the cream of their farm system.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I heard you mention this, Scott. It's five guys, but
- 1:30Speaker 2: as JJ Cooper just said too, it's a group that
- 1:34Speaker 2: probably lacks a carrying piece, as they call it, a headliner.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Fien is that, of course, first rounder last year, twelfth
- 1:41Speaker 2: pick overall, but he's a high school draft and Rosario, Yeah,
- 1:45Speaker 2: he was extremely talented and was considered a top one
- 1:49Speaker 2: hundred guy before he got hurt, but didn't pitch last year,
- 1:53Speaker 2: and as JJ said, it's not going to pitch for
- 1:55Speaker 2: the next two seasons or at least into twenty seven
- 1:57Speaker 2: as well. So they viewed these guys as far away
- 2:00Speaker 2: from the majors. Obviously some of them could come back
- 2:04Speaker 2: to haunt them in the future, but they just didn't
- 2:07Speaker 2: see this deal as one that would preclude them from
- 2:10Speaker 2: going forward. They predicted their top prospect, the infielder Sebastian Walcott.
- 2:15Speaker 2: They like this deal, and I like it for them.
- 2:17Speaker 2: For the Nationals, yeah, I understand the quantity versus quality argument,
- 2:22Speaker 2: and certainly that is one that surfaced here among industry people.
- 2:27Speaker 2: But it's the kind of deal too that you want
- 2:29Speaker 2: to see them making, even if it's quantity, even if
- 2:32Speaker 2: they only end up with let's say, being a quality
- 2:36Speaker 2: Major leaguer and another guy being something of a contributor. Okay,
- 2:41Speaker 2: it's not great for two years of Mackenzie Gore, but
- 2:43Speaker 2: Mackenzie Gore is not flaw as either, and he had
- 2:46Speaker 2: a horrible second half last year. He's had injury history,
- 2:49Speaker 2: So I get it from the Nationals perspective too.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I know it's hard to grade trades because we don't
- 2:55Speaker 3: know what anybody's gonna do. But do you feel like
- 2:58Speaker 3: the market saw mcken's gore as the All star that
- 3:02Speaker 3: he was in the first half, somebody that could have
- 3:04Speaker 3: been a top five or even top three cy young
- 3:07Speaker 3: candidate had he continued that first half, or did they
- 3:11Speaker 3: see him for what His career numbers are pretty much
- 3:14Speaker 3: an average ERA plus type of contributor to the rotation.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Eric, He's certainly a guy with a ton of upside.
- 3:23Speaker 2: We all know that at his best he is really good.
- 3:26Speaker 2: But there are performance questions, there are health questions. It's
- 3:30Speaker 2: two years of control, it's not three, and it's two
- 3:33Speaker 2: years of control with the twenty twenty seven season possibly
- 3:36Speaker 2: being compromised by a lockout. So he was valued perhaps
- 3:41Speaker 2: a little bit lower than I thought when you compare
- 3:43Speaker 2: it to Peralta. Paralta brought the Brewers, along with Tobias Myners,
- 3:47Speaker 2: the two top one hundred guys that we've talked about,
- 3:50Speaker 2: je Williams and Brandon Sprote. Okay, it's not as good
- 3:53Speaker 2: a return, and that was only one year of control
- 3:55Speaker 2: with Peralta, but Parolta has been the better pitcher. He's
- 3:59Speaker 2: also eight million night this year. I know Gore is
- 4:02Speaker 2: lower than that, but he might be higher than it
- 4:03Speaker 2: next year. So could the Nationals have done better? We
- 4:07Speaker 2: can argue this till we're blue in the face, but
- 4:09Speaker 2: we won't know for three, four or five years just
- 4:12Speaker 2: how this all turned out.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Now they get Gore. Two questions for you, do you
- 4:18Speaker 4: see them going after anybody else? And if so, what
- 4:20Speaker 4: position do you think they really need, And how do
- 4:22Speaker 4: you think they stack up now in the West with
- 4:25Speaker 4: you know, a Seattle and a Houston team that are
- 4:27Speaker 4: always going to be in the mix.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Todd, It all depends on how guys like Josh Young
- 4:33Speaker 2: and Wyatt Langford and all of these younger players emerge
- 4:37Speaker 2: for them and take the next step. If some of
- 4:39Speaker 2: them take the next step and the pitching holds together
- 4:42Speaker 2: injury free, sure they have a chance to be pretty good.
- 4:46Speaker 2: What else might they do? I would think that they're
- 4:49Speaker 2: still active looking for bullpen help. All teams are, for
- 4:52Speaker 2: the most part, and that is an area where they've
- 4:55Speaker 2: taken some hits, taken some defections. So obviously I don't
- 5:00Speaker 2: know that I see them at the level of Seattle,
- 5:01Speaker 2: and I do expect Seattle to make one big move
- 5:05Speaker 2: before this spring begins. But the Rangers are better than
- 5:09Speaker 2: they worry yesterday, and it's a trade that it was
- 5:12Speaker 2: impressive because, again Todd, I did not necessarily see them
- 5:17Speaker 2: doing anything big this offseason. It seemed like they're one
- 5:20Speaker 2: of these teams that was kind of in a holding
- 5:22Speaker 2: pattern and this was a win now move.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Ken one more on this or there's some chatter in
- 5:27Speaker 1: the chat right now about if the Rangers should be
- 5:31Speaker 1: in win now mode. And then also some semi legacy
- 5:34Speaker 1: talk about Chris Young. I'll just chime in real quick
- 5:36Speaker 1: with my opinion, Yes, when now you have some aging
- 5:40Speaker 1: vets and you've got a rotation that looks like it
- 5:42Speaker 1: can compete. And then also, I mean, see why I
- 5:44Speaker 1: won a World Series a few years ago. They haven't
- 5:47Speaker 1: given him a big purse to spend since then, so
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think he's done a damn good job.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Well, it's interesting in checking around and asking people about
- 5:56Speaker 2: this trade. Yesterday I had an executive tell me, see
- 5:59Speaker 2: why is really good Chris Young? That he's made only
- 6:02Speaker 2: one trade that you can consider a whiff, Cole Reagan's
- 6:04Speaker 2: for Eroldish Chapman. And I wouldn't even consider that a
- 6:07Speaker 2: whiff myself. Rangers won a World Series that year with
- 6:10Speaker 2: Eroldist Chapman contributing. Obviously, Cole Reagan's became a top sy
- 6:14Speaker 2: young finisher, top five finisher within a couple of years.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I don't know that they anticipated that, but no GM
- 6:22Speaker 2: has a perfect track record. And this executive's point was
- 6:26Speaker 2: that Chris Young generally trades the right guys that guys
- 6:29Speaker 2: do not come back to haunt him. And that's why
- 6:31Speaker 2: he was confident that the Rangers would do well in
- 6:33Speaker 2: this deal because he didn't see this package and a
- 6:36Speaker 2: lot of people don't see this package as being an
- 6:39Speaker 2: overwhelming package in terms of sheer, upside and quality. But
- 6:43Speaker 2: we'll see how it turns out. But certainly, Chris Young is,
- 6:47Speaker 2: as I said, intensely competitive. He's also a guy who
- 6:50Speaker 2: has drawn respect in the game for what he's accomplished
- 6:54Speaker 2: in his relatively brief time as a GM.
- 6:58Speaker 4: I want to go from one Young to the next.
- 7:00Speaker 4: So we'll talk about Jacob Young, another guy with the
- 7:02Speaker 4: Nationals too, Like, is this a guy they're gonna want
- 7:04Speaker 4: to move here or is this somebody that can stick
- 7:07Speaker 4: with this team for I think he's there at least
- 7:09Speaker 4: for four more years under contract. What do you think
- 7:13Speaker 4: about him? I mean, another really good part.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Not sure what to think Todd elite defender Jacob Young,
- 7:19Speaker 2: no question about that, And he is drawing some interest.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Whether it's the old are they shopping or are they
- 7:26Speaker 2: just listening question, It's the one that baffles me the
- 7:29Speaker 2: entire offseason. Every offseason. Teams will say we're just listening.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Other teams will say they're shopping him. I don't know
- 7:36Speaker 2: exactly where Young falls in that discussion. He's certainly a
- 7:41Speaker 2: guy that has been a popular name among other teams,
- 7:44Speaker 2: and he's certainly a guy too that you can see
- 7:46Speaker 2: them moving. They've got Lyles, they've got Cruise, they've got
- 7:50Speaker 2: Robert Hassel, and of course they have James Wood, so
- 7:52Speaker 2: they're not exactly short on outfielders, but Jacob Young fits
- 7:56Speaker 2: in that mix as well when you have the DH
- 7:59Speaker 2: in as a possibility. So I don't know where they're
- 8:02Speaker 2: going with this exactly. You remember all off season they've
- 8:05Speaker 2: talked about how we think our players are going to
- 8:08Speaker 2: improve with the systems we're putting in place, but the
- 8:10Speaker 2: instructions we're bringing in this is under Paul Taboni's new regime,
- 8:15Speaker 2: and it all sounds great and yeah, I believe it,
- 8:18Speaker 2: but obviously it just traded one of the people that
- 8:21Speaker 2: you thought was going to be benefiting from your instruction,
- 8:25Speaker 2: and that was Mackenzie Gore.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Fair, that's fair. What about the Freddy Pea trade? The
- 8:31Speaker 3: Freddy Pea trade, now you wrote about how the I
- 8:34Speaker 3: think it was the Padres Rangers Astros to an extent,
- 8:39Speaker 3: and the Twins I think I'm missing a team that
- 8:42Speaker 3: we're all in in varying degrees. Can you rank those
- 8:45Speaker 3: varying degrees, Not in a sense of like you know
- 8:47Speaker 3: exactly who wanted them the most, but in the sense of,
- 8:50Speaker 3: like what teams had enough to get The Brewers peaked
- 8:55Speaker 3: interest considering they got Jet Williams and they got Brandon
- 8:58Speaker 3: sprote for Freddy p.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Well, there are other teams in the mix as well,
- 9:03Speaker 2: and we had written about them previously. The Red Sox,
- 9:05Speaker 2: the Yankees, the Giants, and the Mets ultimately met the
- 9:11Speaker 2: price where other teams did not. Now, I would not
- 9:14Speaker 2: have seen the Minnesota Twins being involved at this level
- 9:17Speaker 2: when they're not really going to be that competitive this year.
- 9:20Speaker 2: They're doing well, I think, to hold their team together
- 9:23Speaker 2: and not trade any of the big pieces, but I
- 9:25Speaker 2: would have been surprised to see them take on a
- 9:27Speaker 2: rental like Freddy Peralta. The Rangers obviously were in the
- 9:31Speaker 2: starting pitching market as we see now, and I could
- 9:34Speaker 2: see where they were thinking along the same lines as
- 9:36Speaker 2: they were with Gore. Let's get a guy to help
- 9:38Speaker 2: us win, and help us win in twenty twenty six.
- 9:42Speaker 2: The Padres are always lurking on every available player. They're
- 9:46Speaker 2: always on every available player, and yes, they too need
- 9:49Speaker 2: starting pitching, but their system is a little bit down
- 9:53Speaker 2: from where it was earlier. Now, aj Pereller always finds
- 9:57Speaker 2: players and comes up with others to trade. I expect
- 10:00Speaker 2: that he could figure it out, but again, I don't
- 10:04Speaker 2: know that they were going to be at the top
- 10:07Speaker 2: of the line here with the Mets seemingly were the
- 10:10Speaker 2: most persistent and the most persistent for a reason. They've
- 10:13Speaker 2: got money, they've got prospects, and they have the ability
- 10:17Speaker 2: also to extend Freddy Peralta if indeed this works out
- 10:20Speaker 2: well for them.
- 10:22Speaker 3: All Right, TV uncertainty this is the next topic that
- 10:25Speaker 3: we're going to talk about, because the Reds are one
- 10:28Speaker 3: of the teams that, oh, we're not one hundred percent sure.
- 10:32Speaker 3: A few months ago they did offer Kyle Schwarber quite
- 10:35Speaker 3: a bit of money, and their TV uncertainty to me,
- 10:39Speaker 3: feels like a crutch. While a legitimate crutch, it feels
- 10:42Speaker 3: like a crutch that you're leaning on this season with
- 10:45Speaker 3: the uncertainty not to be resolved for another three years
- 10:48Speaker 3: if I'm correct, right, So, how long is this going
- 10:51Speaker 3: to be something that we can have teams constantly lean
- 10:55Speaker 3: on like the Reds.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Well, the uncertainty is not going to last three years.
- 11:00Speaker 2: They're going to figure this out in probably short order now. Granted,
- 11:04Speaker 2: the national television contracts come up in three years, and
- 11:07Speaker 2: then what Manfred has talked about doing as commissioner is
- 11:10Speaker 2: hopefully getting them all under one umbrella, the local teams contracts,
- 11:14Speaker 2: and Major League Baseball has gone a long way toward
- 11:17Speaker 2: doing that, and perhaps the Reds and some of the
- 11:19Speaker 2: other teams there are nine of them at all that
- 11:23Speaker 2: have been associated with Main Street as a company, they
- 11:27Speaker 2: will end up under MLB's umbrella. I'm sure some of
- 11:29Speaker 2: them will. Some of them may do things on their own.
- 11:32Speaker 2: So that's the position the Reds are in now. Is
- 11:35Speaker 2: it a crutch? I guess you can interpret.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It that way.
- 11:38Speaker 2: But Schwarber from the start was always going to be
- 11:42Speaker 2: an exception for them. There was money for Kyle Schwarber
- 11:45Speaker 2: that was not money that they were just going to
- 11:46Speaker 2: redistribute if they did not sign him. And the reason
- 11:49Speaker 2: for that is that Kyle Schwarber is from Middletown, Ohio.
- 11:53Speaker 2: He's a guy they felt would sell tickets and really
- 11:56Speaker 2: make a financial difference for them others that they're interested in,
- 12:00Speaker 2: and whether it's Ajohana Suarez, Miguel Andrew Harr, Austin Hayes,
- 12:03Speaker 2: whichever hitter you might pick, they're not the same level
- 12:07Speaker 2: of performer as Kylee Schwarber and they certainly didn't bring
- 12:10Speaker 2: that box office element. So is it an excuse? Yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 2: I guess you can say it's an excuse. But if
- 12:16Speaker 2: the front office had the money available, they would spend it,
- 12:20Speaker 2: and they don't have it available. It seems to me, what.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Are you hearing about Max Scherzer. Does a guy who
- 12:25Speaker 3: pitched really well in pivotal games in the World Series
- 12:31Speaker 3: need to be a guy that possibly would go on
- 12:33Speaker 3: a Roger Clemens type of deal where he starts twenty games,
- 12:38Speaker 3: but he only starts in June for a team Like
- 12:41Speaker 3: is that something that is a Max choice or is
- 12:44Speaker 3: that something that seems to be more of a baseball choice.
- 12:49Speaker 2: It's more a market choice. And I spoke with Max
- 12:52Speaker 2: yesterday and he emphasized to me that he's ready to
- 12:56Speaker 2: go right now in training all winter. He's healthy if
- 12:59Speaker 2: the right team calls, and there are only a number
- 13:02Speaker 2: of teams that he's interested in. A certain number, then yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 2: they'll sign up tomorrow the right call, with the right offer.
- 13:08Speaker 2: But if that doesn't happen, if one of his preferred
- 13:11Speaker 2: teams does not see a spot for him right now,
- 13:14Speaker 2: he is willing to wait until after the season starts
- 13:17Speaker 2: to sign then, knowing that injuries will occur, guys won't
- 13:22Speaker 2: perform the way teams think. There's always a need for
- 13:25Speaker 2: a starting pitcher in May and June, even before that.
- 13:28Speaker 2: So that's how he's playing this. And he can afford
- 13:31Speaker 2: to be choosy, both at a financial sense and in
- 13:34Speaker 2: a playing career sense, and that's where he is. So
- 13:37Speaker 2: I would not be surprised if he signed tomorrow, and
- 13:40Speaker 2: I would not be surprised if he didn't sign until
- 13:42Speaker 2: sometime in May. He has those options available to him,
- 13:46Speaker 2: or at least he thinks he will later, and that's
- 13:49Speaker 2: how he's going to play this. And at his age,
- 13:52Speaker 2: with what he's accomplished, I can see the logic.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Hey, Ken, last one for you, and I know it's
- 13:58Speaker 1: a loaded question. We don't have to get in to
- 14:00Speaker 1: all of the details, but your colleague Evan Drelik's article
- 14:03Speaker 1: about how someone who's in on the owner talk said
- 14:07Speaker 1: the final straw was Kyle Tucker. Now we are going
- 14:11Speaker 1: lockout no matter what. I guess, Hey, we might never
- 14:13Speaker 1: have baseball again after this coming season, so we should
- 14:17Speaker 1: enjoy it. But just curious to get your thoughts to me,
- 14:20Speaker 1: like at this point, Yes, we're definitely going to talk
- 14:22Speaker 1: about this over the next year, but I'm kind of
- 14:23Speaker 1: getting sick of like this is the ultimate solution. Look
- 14:26Speaker 1: at the NFL AFC Championship game past fifteen years. Chiefs
- 14:29Speaker 1: of Patriots that went viral last night until someone was
- 14:31Speaker 1: forced to take it down. Anyway, your thoughts.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Well, First of all, what Evan wrote was that the
- 14:38Speaker 2: Tucker thing is what's going to trigger a salary cap
- 14:42Speaker 2: offer from the owners. The lockout was inevitable well before
- 14:46Speaker 2: Kyle Tucker. The owner's pushing a salary cap was inevitable
- 14:49Speaker 2: well before Kyle Tucker. Now we can debate, and we
- 14:53Speaker 2: will be debating for the next I don't know, eleven
- 14:55Speaker 2: months or so, the value of a cap versus tweaking
- 14:59Speaker 2: the currency. And that's a debate that fans are eager
- 15:04Speaker 2: to have. According to Major League Baseball, it's a debate
- 15:07Speaker 2: the owners are certainly willing to have and enjoy talking
- 15:10Speaker 2: about the players want no part of a cap, and
- 15:14Speaker 2: in my view, I'm going to be consistent with this.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I believe that this sport can function quite well with
- 15:20Speaker 2: tweaks and maybe major tweaks to the current system. There
- 15:23Speaker 2: are things you can do to not eliminate the revenue's
- 15:28Speaker 2: disparity that's never going to happen, but to lessen the
- 15:31Speaker 2: impact of that revenue disparity, and there's various forms and
- 15:36Speaker 2: levers you can pull to help that along. You talk
- 15:39Speaker 2: about a salary cap, well, it comes to the salary floor.
- 15:42Speaker 2: The two things are intertwined. And we all know a
- 15:45Speaker 2: floor would be good for the game in the eyes
- 15:47Speaker 2: of many, because it would force some of these teams
- 15:49Speaker 2: to actually spend their revenue sharing money. But I don't
- 15:53Speaker 2: even know that that's necessary if you do some other
- 15:56Speaker 2: things to kind of juice this along. So it's a
- 15:59Speaker 2: word the debate whether a salary cap would be good
- 16:03Speaker 2: for the sport or not. I can understand the debate.
- 16:05Speaker 2: But the other factor here is if the owners seek
- 16:09Speaker 2: to impose a salary cap, we're likely going to have
- 16:13Speaker 2: maybe a long work stoppage, maybe we lose part or
- 16:16Speaker 2: all of twenty twenty seven I don't believe it's going
- 16:19Speaker 2: to come to that.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I don't believe the.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Owners are dumb enough, honestly, to lose a whole season
- 16:25Speaker 2: or even a major part of a season when you're
- 16:28Speaker 2: in a position right now as healthy as the sport
- 16:31Speaker 2: has been in quite some time, quite some time. So
- 16:35Speaker 2: you want to play that game, Go play that game.
- 16:37Speaker 2: See how that fares with your franchise values. But to
- 16:41Speaker 2: get back to the fan question and the question of
- 16:44Speaker 2: revenue disparity, yes, that is a problem. It is a
- 16:48Speaker 2: problem that needs to be addressed. I would just argue
- 16:51Speaker 2: and will argue that it does not need to be
- 16:54Speaker 2: addressed through a salary cap. You can do it in
- 16:56Speaker 2: other ways.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Thanks for the time. Thank Scott we Hip hopping up
- 17:09Speaker 1: or down here bet MGM futures Orioles. Last year Todd
- 17:13Speaker 1: father was the low guy on the Orioles and he
- 17:16Speaker 1: nailed it. But this year it's a different team. It's
- 17:19Speaker 1: a very different team, and there is a way to
- 17:22Speaker 1: buy value in the offseason. The Oils are at eighty
- 17:25Speaker 1: five and a half a half if you're taking the
- 17:27Speaker 1: over or the under. Now, they're probably going to add
- 17:31Speaker 1: another player that could help this. They might add two
- 17:34Speaker 1: more that could help this number. What do we think?
- 17:39Speaker 1: I gotta go right to you first, Todd Father. You
- 17:41Speaker 1: you this was like a lock for you last year,
- 17:44Speaker 1: and you were so on the money. People were like, well,
- 17:47Speaker 1: I don't think they'll be that good, but they'll make
- 17:49Speaker 1: the playoffs. You were like, Nope, they're not even making
- 17:50Speaker 1: the playoffs.
- 17:51Speaker 4: No, I was right, man alive. They did some really
- 17:56Speaker 4: nice things this offseason. I gotta give them credit. Man, Listen,
- 18:00Speaker 4: I can go back this year. It's a new year.
- 18:03Speaker 4: I'm thinking. I'm just thinking of who who they got
- 18:05Speaker 4: to apply? Man I America East.
- 18:10Speaker 3: It's a good one, you, Darren.
- 18:12Speaker 4: I think they're right around this number. I think this
- 18:16Speaker 4: is a spectacular number. Do they find ways to beat
- 18:19Speaker 4: the Rockies and sweep them to get the eighty six?
- 18:22Speaker 4: I say they do. Eighty six is the number over.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Royals make the playoffs, the Orioles make the playoffs.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Royals by two. New Ballpark, right, little tweets.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Try and beat that, mister turnover.
- 18:38Speaker 3: I like the over. I liked it before Todd said it.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Here we go like. I like the over. I think
- 18:44Speaker 3: the I think the division is going to be so tough.
- 18:47Speaker 3: That's why I'm not throwing. You can you can see
- 18:50Speaker 3: my slips. Anyone that I feel is confident. We've had
- 18:53Speaker 3: a few confident over unders for the wins, so hard.
- 18:57Speaker 3: This one's not. This one's not. I feel like I'm
- 18:59Speaker 3: not confident on this one. But I think it is
- 19:02Speaker 3: the over. I think the addition of Alonso. I think
- 19:06Speaker 3: the addition of Ward, like and if you say you
- 19:10Speaker 3: got rid of Grace Rodriguez, I don't like that, but
- 19:13Speaker 3: he didn't give you anything last year because he was hurt.
- 19:16Speaker 3: So to me, those two additions. I'm not sure how
- 19:20Speaker 3: many homer's Pete had, but I know Ward had over
- 19:23Speaker 3: thirty four, thirty nine something like that. You're almost talking
- 19:27Speaker 3: about eighty plus Homers that you're adding to your lineup,
- 19:31Speaker 3: and you already have MVP candidate in Gunnar Henderson. So yeah,
- 19:35Speaker 3: they're gonna score some runs. I'm definitely choosing the over
- 19:37Speaker 3: in some games with the Orioles. This year, Bradish returns
- 19:41Speaker 3: to form. Wells Rogers has to continue what he's doing.
- 19:44Speaker 3: What he did last year was pretty astronomical. Maybe comes
- 19:48Speaker 3: down to earth a little bit. But do they add
- 19:52Speaker 3: one more piece if they add Framber? This is why
- 19:55Speaker 3: I want to take the over because I do believe
- 19:57Speaker 3: they're going to add a gallon of Framber. I don't
- 20:01Speaker 3: think there's that high end piece to trade for yet.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Is Paveta out there?
- 20:05Speaker 2: Yes?
- 20:06Speaker 3: Does that give me a lot of confidence?
- 20:09Speaker 1: Sure?
- 20:09Speaker 3: I like Paveta, But to me, Frambur and Gallon should
- 20:12Speaker 3: be the or Framber or Gallon should be the move.
- 20:15Speaker 3: And now that number, I think that number automatically goes
- 20:19Speaker 3: higher than eighty five. So I buy it low right
- 20:21Speaker 3: now at eighty five.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Agreed. I like it, and I think it's going to
- 20:25Speaker 1: tick up a point or two a win or two
- 20:27Speaker 1: after they pick up another pitcher. So if you do
- 20:30Speaker 1: like it, you think there's value there now is the
- 20:33Speaker 1: time for that one? Yes? Exactly. Let's talk NFL a
