- 2:52Speaker 2: You brought it up. It is a great time to
- 2:54Speaker 2: get the extended family on game.
- 2:56Speaker 1: You imagine just an entire family just watching for the
- 2:59Speaker 1: dads on Thanksgiving. Oh dear, I think maybe a game
- 3:03Speaker 1: gets so far away it's like, all right, this game's
- 3:05Speaker 1: kind of boring. Is there something else we can watch
- 3:06Speaker 1: right now? And you're watching, you're tuned into the four
- 3:08Speaker 1: the dad's pot or the entire family. If there is
- 3:10Speaker 1: a family out there doing that for the love of God,
- 3:12Speaker 1: take a photo posted on social media and tag us
- 3:15Speaker 1: so we can see it.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Maybe maybe if someone brought up politics or religion too
- 3:19Speaker 2: fast into the evening and the family has split, and
- 3:22Speaker 2: you're thinking, you're sitting there, going what could bring us
- 3:25Speaker 2: all together?
- 3:26Speaker 1: What could save the day? You know what? Temperatures are
- 3:28Speaker 1: too high right now, Like, let's just throw on for
- 3:31Speaker 1: the dads, these guys on the life.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Maybe we can laugh a little bit together to save
- 3:36Speaker 2: family Thanksgiving. Hey, look at these bozos. Look at these
- 3:39Speaker 2: goofball I'll.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Tell you what though. BT six has been out there
- 3:42Speaker 1: with the ollipop Lollipopa drink six, I mean ollipop sent
- 3:47Speaker 1: a shipment to Adam. Yeah, he's out there running a
- 3:50Speaker 1: video with Chris Bapple and Classic Grape Shout Out the Boy,
- 3:53Speaker 1: ad him on the front lines with Papa Team six Man.
- 3:55Speaker 2: They put him on Lollipop's like all of his all
- 3:58Speaker 2: the socials, everything, they collabsed with him, like he's not
- 4:02Speaker 2: even a content guy, He's just a dad out.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I was able to shoot him.
- 4:05Speaker 3: So we had to obviously get him his march from
- 4:07Speaker 3: the show, because when you call into the show, you
- 4:09Speaker 3: do get merched, and so texted him that link and
- 4:11Speaker 3: he his text back to the phone started with this
- 4:14Speaker 3: may be automated, but I'm still sending this text, which
- 4:16Speaker 3: they're not automated. But he was like, this has been
- 4:18Speaker 3: the funniest like moment of my life, Like you guys
- 4:21Speaker 3: reposting the clip was the highlight of my week, Like
- 4:23Speaker 3: look how sick.
- 4:24Speaker 1: This is the nicest guy.
- 4:25Speaker 3: And then every comment underneath his Ollipop video was he
- 4:28Speaker 3: looks exactly how he sounds, which is hilarious.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So some pet sikos found his video. We're in the comments,
- 4:36Speaker 2: well they found it.
- 4:36Speaker 3: So Ollipop had found him in this tw week because
- 4:38Speaker 3: he came out and said I am oh that's where
- 4:40Speaker 3: Lollipop found him, and then people underneath. And then when
- 4:42Speaker 3: he posted his video and Ollipop went off, people were like, yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 3: that is him. Like when I heard his voice, I
- 4:47Speaker 3: envisioned that person.
- 4:49Speaker 2: That's Adam from for the Dad's podcast, is what they
- 4:52Speaker 2: were saying.
- 4:53Speaker 1: That's hilarious. It fired me up. Let's get into uh, look,
- 4:57Speaker 1: big weekends for us. Yes, right now again, we're we're
- 5:00Speaker 1: doing this episode on Tuesday, YEP, after two episodes of
- 5:04Speaker 1: the Locker Room, College Football and NFL. You can check
- 5:05Speaker 1: that out on the Bus with the Boys channel, we
- 5:07Speaker 1: did the Bust with the Boys and College Football Recap,
- 5:10Speaker 1: NFL Recap where the Boys. We're in it right now.
- 5:12Speaker 1: We're in the mud. Good yeah, good. We're a little
- 5:14Speaker 1: worn down right now. Good good. We have some good
- 5:17Speaker 1: stories here from Shrham. He traveled over the weekend, was
- 5:20Speaker 1: on the runway for a couple hours, a few hours,
- 5:23Speaker 1: several hours, sick household at the Compton with the Compton
- 5:27Speaker 1: family grew throwing up on us in the middle of
- 5:29Speaker 1: the night. We'll get to a couple of these stories,
- 5:31Speaker 1: but let's kick off with with some good vibes. Yes,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I have some happy comments here from people. Steve Snyder
- 5:37Speaker 1: on YouTube, Buddy, I just cracked my first classic great
- 5:40Speaker 1: Volly public. It always comes back to Ollipop man. It's
- 5:43Speaker 1: like the first time I heard Carrie Underwood sing on
- 5:46Speaker 1: American Idol Lord all of the show boys. Grateful to
- 5:50Speaker 1: spend my wednesdays with you, guys. I quit my job
- 5:52Speaker 1: to pursue my business full time around four years ago.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I have a six year old boy and a one
- 5:57Speaker 1: year old baby girl. Every morning I get the opportunity
- 6:00Speaker 1: to get them ready and drop my son off at
- 6:02Speaker 1: school and take my baby girl to childcare parentheses my parents' house.
- 6:06Speaker 1: That short time with them in the morning gets me
- 6:08Speaker 1: so gassed from my workday. Thank you for bringing the
- 6:10Speaker 1: PT six community to life. Love you guys, hashtag good
- 6:14Speaker 1: shout out Steve and uh my question is Steve because
- 6:18Speaker 1: I'd love to see him comment under this video is
- 6:21Speaker 1: at what point does his baby girl who's won He
- 6:24Speaker 1: has a son that's six years old. Yeah, at what
- 6:26Speaker 1: point does your daughter become number one over the boy?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Because parents like to say there's no rankings in the family. Yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 1: but every night it can change. You lay your head
- 6:35Speaker 1: on the you lay your head on the bill A
- 6:36Speaker 1: Scottie Scotty kind of climbing the ranks on the room.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Right now, Rue's been hell for your boy. She's not
- 6:41Speaker 1: in the dad ass, She's in the mama. You have
- 6:42Speaker 1: those most in the eight day. Next day, Rue wraps
- 6:45Speaker 1: you back right around her finger. This morning, this morning
- 6:50Speaker 1: she had what the bed, went in there to get
- 6:52Speaker 1: her going. Yeah, she had what the bed. And I'm
- 6:54Speaker 1: trying to let her know. This is a dad death
- 6:56Speaker 1: special right here. Dad ad with the bet until he
- 6:58Speaker 1: was fourteen years old. There's nothing wrong with this. Welcome
- 7:00Speaker 1: like the fam. Yeah, but she's got her face in
- 7:02Speaker 1: the pillow. She's mad at me. She wants it to
- 7:04Speaker 1: be MoMA and they're not dad dads. She's seeing at
- 7:05Speaker 1: me to get out of the room. My daddad stopped
- 7:07Speaker 1: talking to me. I'm just trying to be like, hey,
- 7:08Speaker 1: it's all good. What are pants? What your pants is cool?
- 7:12Speaker 1: She's hid me all with other tiff I'm like, all right, okay,
- 7:14Speaker 1: that's fine. You want to be mean the dad dad,
- 7:16Speaker 1: go ahead, I'll walk out of the room. She comes downstairs,
- 7:19Speaker 1: she's kind of yelling at me about getting her some
- 7:21Speaker 1: milk or doing you cutting her bagel or a certain
- 7:25Speaker 1: way or whatever it is. She's chirping at Dad, Dad
- 7:28Speaker 1: and moms letting her know, hey, you're kind of being
- 7:30Speaker 1: mean to dads. When I like, hey, look I get it.
- 7:32Speaker 1: You want to be mean the dad. Dad. Just I'll
- 7:34Speaker 1: tell you what I'm not getting you milk. I'm not
- 7:35Speaker 1: getting you milk when you talk to dadad like that.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So if you want to change your tune, go ahead, like, Daddy,
- 7:39Speaker 1: kind of get some milk please, I'm make sure so
- 7:40Speaker 1: I get her the milk. And you can just tell
- 7:42Speaker 1: it's like going through her head like, yeah, I'm kind
- 7:44Speaker 1: of getting after dad Dad. She's kind of like smiling
- 7:46Speaker 1: and leaning over to me, but I'm kind of playing
- 7:48Speaker 1: a little hard to get. Yeah, you're playing a little
- 7:51Speaker 1: hard to get, like you're gonna have to work to
- 7:52Speaker 1: get back, and Daddy's on us. But sure enough, you know,
- 7:57Speaker 1: Dad taking me to school day. Oh it's not dad,
- 7:59Speaker 1: it's trying to take you to school. But I'll tell
- 8:00Speaker 1: you what. Ull be here when you get back from
- 8:02Speaker 1: your swim lesson. And then she's like you're about to
- 8:04Speaker 1: leave you Yeah, I'm about to leave. And I have
- 8:06Speaker 1: a hug, kissing three squeeze and we can do it
- 8:07Speaker 1: two times, I could tell that's her trying to pursue
- 8:10Speaker 1: you back. Okay, I've been a little bit mean to dad, Dad,
- 8:12Speaker 1: let's get back as good graces. And sure enough, you
- 8:14Speaker 1: just melt the wrap around your finger. It's our way,
- 8:16Speaker 1: she's the best. We're back on good terms. So going
- 8:20Speaker 1: back to Steve and that question, I just have this.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I have this perception that if you, if I were
- 8:26Speaker 1: to have a son and you have a daughter, like
- 8:28Speaker 1: knowing that I'm a girl dad right now, and how
- 8:29Speaker 1: much I absolutely am obsessed with my girls, It's like
- 8:32Speaker 1: if I had a boy, he would almost immediately fall
- 8:36Speaker 1: down on the tone pole forever, like the daughter's number
- 8:38Speaker 1: one in the family, and if not right out of
- 8:40Speaker 1: the womb, it has to be the first moment she
- 8:44Speaker 1: can say Dad, dad, or Dad dad, I love you,
- 8:46Speaker 1: and then it's it's game over from there. So my
- 8:48Speaker 1: question is, Steve, how quickly did your one year old
- 8:50Speaker 1: become number one in your eyes over your boy? Would
- 8:55Speaker 1: love to know that answer.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Great question and feel the exact same way that I
- 9:00Speaker 2: had Scarlet. First, I didn't I did not expect that,
- 9:05Speaker 2: and I don't know what it's like to have a son.
- 9:07Speaker 2: But I guess like a lot of guys go into
- 9:11Speaker 2: having their first kid and they want a boy, and yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 2: looking at it now, I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm
- 9:16Speaker 2: so lucky at girls.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I have a baby girl, And when we were pregnant
- 9:19Speaker 1: with our second one, I'm praying that it's a boy
- 9:22Speaker 1: because I'm already ready to let him know he's number
- 9:24Speaker 1: two right when he comes out, whether he can understand
- 9:26Speaker 1: me or not. And you're just he'll be number two forever. Yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 1: knowing if it was if it was going to be
- 9:31Speaker 1: a second girl, you're almost like thinking in your head,
- 9:33Speaker 1: like this is gonna be tough, Like, dude, am I
- 9:37Speaker 1: going to have enough? Am I going to have enough
- 9:40Speaker 1: love that goes around? Because I know how obsessed I
- 9:42Speaker 1: am with rue, Like, am I going to be able
- 9:43Speaker 1: to have that ability with Scotty or a second daughter?
- 9:46Speaker 1: You find out very quickly? Yet is that way? But
- 9:48Speaker 1: you were playing all these games. I mean, I just
- 9:49Speaker 1: hope it's a boy, so that way he can just
- 9:51Speaker 1: know straight out of the gate, you'll be number two
- 9:52Speaker 1: to your sister forever. Yeah.
- 9:54Speaker 2: There's a great quote that I think we read on
- 9:56Speaker 2: the show that was like having a son as you
- 9:59Speaker 2: teaching them to be a good man and having a
- 10:01Speaker 2: daughter as they are teaching you how to be a
- 10:04Speaker 2: good man.
- 10:05Speaker 1: That's a good one. We read.
- 10:07Speaker 2: That's it from a PT sixer though, that's right, we
- 10:09Speaker 2: got brain.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Damn, I got a damage up here.
- 10:11Speaker 4: That one.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I've already forgotten that one just for the first time, like,
- 10:15Speaker 1: oh damn, that's well. I just will you said that
- 10:17Speaker 1: one from a comment Will you did?
- 10:19Speaker 4: That?
- 10:20Speaker 1: Was Will Compton?
- 10:21Speaker 4: Everybody, sorry, Jeff, I got a question for you guys
- 10:24Speaker 4: and PT six nation, specifically probably to the the the
- 10:29Speaker 4: dads of boys out there that have multiple boys. I
- 10:32Speaker 4: feel like with daughters, will you put it where it's
- 10:34Speaker 4: like they get favorite child, goes day by day and whatnot.
- 10:37Speaker 4: I feel your daughters it's more of maybe like oh
- 10:40Speaker 4: I did something really good at school or oh you know,
- 10:42Speaker 4: I've really well behaved, whereas the boys on the top
- 10:45Speaker 4: of the list is probably just the person who wasn't
- 10:48Speaker 4: the biggest pain of the pain in the ass for
- 10:50Speaker 4: the week's.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Way, because your daughter like it's you're on their terms,
- 10:56Speaker 1: whether or not, whether or not I want to admit it,
- 10:58Speaker 1: it's like I'll play these games and everything else because
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm damn, you're kind of hurt my feelings right now.
- 11:02Speaker 1: But the minute she accepts me back in or she
- 11:03Speaker 1: tries to play a game on.
- 11:04Speaker 5: My yours, that's such a crazy thought just right now
- 11:09Speaker 5: with how young Scarlet is.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, bro, she's going to own you.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Man.
- 11:13Speaker 1: It's the best of all time.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Oh I could not be more looking more forward to it.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I'll get to these comments very quick. Story was like
- 11:22Speaker 2: my first interaction with Scarlet where she I felt like
- 11:26Speaker 2: I was being identified as data publicly, of like I
- 11:30Speaker 2: handed her off to daycare workers. They go to sit
- 11:33Speaker 2: down with Scarlet and she is tracking me to the
- 11:37Speaker 2: daycare door the entire way and kind of has to
- 11:40Speaker 2: look like WHOA hold the phone, where are you going?
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you're my person, You're my person.
- 11:46Speaker 2: At the door, I went, dad loves you, He loves you,
- 11:49Speaker 2: And she had her beinkie in but she still like
- 11:52Speaker 2: smiled with the passy in and I was like, oh Dad,
- 11:56Speaker 2: I needed that. That was really like, it was incredible.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, when are you gonna make his Facebook official
- 12:02Speaker 1: that I'm your dad? Yeah? In front of him. You're
- 12:04Speaker 1: always real quiet when I pass you off, Like, when
- 12:06Speaker 1: are you going to verbally commit to letting, letting everybody
- 12:10Speaker 1: else know, letting the public world know that I am
- 12:12Speaker 1: your dad, You're proud of me.
- 12:13Speaker 2: It's gonna happen. It's gonna happen, and I do need it.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I uh okay. I have some fun comments as well.
- 12:18Speaker 1: kJ.
- 12:19Speaker 2: This is his actual username and I believe we've read
- 12:22Speaker 2: this one on the show kJ. For the Dad's pt
- 12:26Speaker 2: Sicko on YouTube, he said, taking a dump in for
- 12:30Speaker 2: the dads, then down to the basement to work out,
- 12:33Speaker 2: bumping for the dads, Let's have a day boys, and
- 12:38Speaker 2: then Mark ants When Mark antwen Varren on Spotify, he said, uh,
- 12:44Speaker 2: at the five twenty nine Mark listened to for the
- 12:47Speaker 2: dads on my way to the gym. Let's get it boys,
- 12:50Speaker 2: a lot of gym rats and let's get you six
- 12:52Speaker 2: that up.
- 12:53Speaker 1: There, bet six ready to go. When the episode drops,
- 12:55Speaker 1: whatever they're doing, working out, driving to work, in the
- 12:58Speaker 1: car with the fam getting some he switched over, I
- 13:00Speaker 1: have one here from UH. And my wife she was
- 13:05Speaker 1: beating me up about this last week. She's like, you
- 13:06Speaker 1: need to just say whatever the word is, whether it's
- 13:08Speaker 1: right wrong, just own you mess it up, because the
- 13:11Speaker 1: moment you mess it up. You keep trying to figure
- 13:12Speaker 1: out how what's the correct way of saying it? So
- 13:14Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say, uh, Ken, you Sig, can't you
- 13:17Speaker 1: sick on Spotify? Come on celebrating my massive dad when
- 13:20Speaker 1: driving home, driving into work today, got both boy seats,
- 13:22Speaker 1: switched over to Mama's car and still got into work
- 13:25Speaker 1: early prayers for my boy Willie one self. We can't
- 13:27Speaker 1: win them all. He shout out to you, Ken Sig.
- 13:30Speaker 2: He shout out the kids can't wait, can't win them all.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Shout out to charge to you giving you notes. I
- 13:35Speaker 2: very recently was getting some notes from jail as well
- 13:37Speaker 2: on the show. Yeah, yeah, I'd love to hear that
- 13:40Speaker 2: you're watching film as well. Yeah, you gotta be open
- 13:42Speaker 2: the feedback. I'll get in the car. I'll get in
- 13:44Speaker 2: the car with my wife. We got the kiddos in.
- 13:45Speaker 2: We might be going somewhere on the weekend. When the
- 13:47Speaker 2: when the vehicle turns on, I'll see that the four
- 13:49Speaker 2: of the Dad's episodes up and playing on this kind
- 13:51Speaker 2: of point, like you just.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Listen note for the Dads. I see. She's like I
- 13:55Speaker 1: listen every week. Yeah, I gotta make sure your stories
- 13:58Speaker 1: are are are are exact. Yes, you're offul lot of
- 14:01Speaker 1: the time, but you're close for the most part.
- 14:03Speaker 2: She recently DM jail by the way she was listening
- 14:07Speaker 2: afore the Dads and she was like, I feel like
- 14:10Speaker 2: I needed to reach out. We gotta connect hang or something.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Just from all these stories.

- 14:22Speaker 1: You've been with my family, I've been with your family.
- 14:24Speaker 1: We just haven't gotten all the families to well. It is.

- 14:49Speaker 2: We'll go sit down on the couch and that our
- 14:51Speaker 2: daughters and wives will stand there and they'll just put
- 14:54Speaker 2: us in our place and we'll have each other to
- 14:56Speaker 2: just be like, hey man, nobody sitting there hanging.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Out like hey, make sure we take as many videos
- 15:01Speaker 1: as possible of us doing essentially all the work while
- 15:04Speaker 1: they sit there and scroll on X like, Oh dad,
- 15:07Speaker 1: BT six, look at him sitting on his ass. Oh
- 15:10Speaker 1: here's mine, Oh Willie one shelf over there in the corner.
- 15:15Speaker 2: He's napping right now. And it will be us. It
- 15:18Speaker 2: will be us with the reading glasses just falling off
- 15:21Speaker 2: of our face.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I got one here from Cold Jacobs thirteen oh four
- 15:24Speaker 1: on YouTube. Great episode.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Boys.

- 15:28Speaker 1: my favorite movie quotes from Avengers Endgame. Ooh, just PT
- 15:32Speaker 1: six man, Like, it's just you're pulling it from a
- 15:34Speaker 1: superhero movie. This is what it makes me think of.

- 15:39Speaker 1: second of time. I can't wait to join BT six
- 15:42Speaker 1: in less than a month. Shout out, Cold Jacobs. We're
- 15:45Speaker 1: gonna welcome you with open arms to the BT six community.

- 15:56Speaker 1: tell you a little more about that later on. Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 1: we'll talk about that in the break. The hot chocolate
- 15:59Speaker 1: is has it was a little skeptical.
- 16:02Speaker 3: To your last comment. You right, not that one, but
- 16:04Speaker 3: the one before that. Will a lot of people on
- 16:07Speaker 3: X and in the YouTube comments curious as to why
- 16:09Speaker 3: you only have one base.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I was thinking about addressing that in that comment, but
- 16:15Speaker 1: I was just like, you know, let's just I only
- 16:17Speaker 1: saw a few. But now that Derek the Funkell over here,
- 16:20Speaker 1: he bring it the o d He's bringing it back up.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Why doesn't Will have car seats? Look, we have a couple.
- 16:24Speaker 1: One goes in the nannies car, and I just think
- 16:26Speaker 1: to my head, like, hey, we'll be able to maneuver
- 16:28Speaker 1: back and forth. It hasn't happened, like, hey.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Hey, hey, here's the deal we're gonna get. We're gonna
- 16:36Speaker 2: get into. Just the weekend that I had, the weekend
- 16:38Speaker 2: that Will had not.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Pocket watching your pocket watching.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I had a couple of people DMV about the base. Yo,
- 16:49Speaker 5: you gotta you gotta get your boy right. I'm like, hey,
- 16:53Speaker 5: he's on.
- 16:53Speaker 1: The way bigger things. He's on the Iowa right now. Okay,
- 16:56Speaker 1: I'm thinking about the alcohol guys.
- 16:57Speaker 2: On Friday, last my boy needs is a text about
- 17:01Speaker 2: hey 'soul good? Another base and you have a nuna
- 17:04Speaker 2: I confirmed I looked in your car the other day.
- 17:07Speaker 1: You have a Nuna. There we go, So that is debunked. Yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: haters are sick to hear that confirmation. Pocket watching the
- 17:14Speaker 1: why don't you got eight different car seats? I have Louid.
- 17:18Speaker 1: We just said, why don't you have one east one?
- 17:19Speaker 1: That'd be two three?
- 17:21Speaker 2: I have Lewis twenty two on YouTube Absolute dad win
- 17:26Speaker 2: to share for our daddy daughter day. I took my
- 17:28Speaker 2: six year old daughter to a Disney themed pub quiz
- 17:32Speaker 2: on a school night as she was so keen to go.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Fourteen other teams full of adults ten thirty pm finish,
- 17:41Speaker 2: late night for her, but she embraced it.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Just me and her.
- 17:45Speaker 2: I just sit back with a beer and write down
- 17:47Speaker 2: each and every answer she gives me. We finished in
- 17:50Speaker 2: first place. She wiped the floor with him and won
- 17:53Speaker 2: one hundred pounds. I believe is the money mark here.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Let's go baby girl. PT six since day one with
- 18:01Speaker 2: you guys from the UK.
- 18:02Speaker 1: From the UK, good good for the international?
- 18:06Speaker 2: Is the UK back on the pound? Are they off
- 18:08Speaker 2: the euro?
- 18:09Speaker 1: No, they're on the pound. They're they're not in the
- 18:11Speaker 1: Union anymore?
- 18:12Speaker 2: Okay cool? Yeah, I was like I don't think I've
- 18:14Speaker 2: ever seen that symbol.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Quick if if any of Britz in here can do
- 18:18Speaker 4: you guys still use euros if you're making a purchase
- 18:21Speaker 4: somewhere in Europe?
- 18:22Speaker 1: That's all I want to ask, great questions from yeah
- 18:25Speaker 1: six the captain. Hey, any Brits listen right now? You
- 18:29Speaker 1: guys still use a euro pound?
- 18:30Speaker 4: Like?
- 18:31Speaker 1: Talk to us?
- 18:31Speaker 4: And how's that exchange? To do it through bank automatically
- 18:34Speaker 4: or do you have to do like a third party?
- 18:35Speaker 1: Thank you? Look at that up for a man who
- 18:38Speaker 1: just loves some beer in Tennessee, volunteers, football and many
- 18:41Speaker 1: other things. We don't know what else? What was exchange
- 18:44Speaker 1: rate from the pound to the dollar?
- 18:46Speaker 5: And they say we have four brain cells between us.
- 18:50Speaker 1: We got we all little spice, We all action a
- 18:52Speaker 1: little bit about something, but not a whole lot about nothing.
- 18:55Speaker 4: There yeah right there, Yeah.
- 19:01Speaker 6: Oh.
- 19:01Speaker 2: One of our favorites repeat offender Katie josen Hans Lessons
- 19:06Speaker 2: of the Week hit home today. It's been a very
- 19:09Speaker 2: busy season. My husband works twenty four hour shifts at
- 19:12Speaker 2: the fire station. I work full time from home. We
- 19:15Speaker 2: just got some help with daycare. After a year of
- 19:18Speaker 2: wait lists, I am finally feeling like I can breathe
- 19:21Speaker 2: again and really enjoy motherhood. That's awesome to hear, Katie.
- 19:25Speaker 2: It's been tough to remember to be grateful for this
- 19:28Speaker 2: life that I prayed for, but y'all always remind us
- 19:31Speaker 2: to keep our heads up. I find myself saying good
- 19:34Speaker 2: a lot during solo parenting days and now saying I
- 19:38Speaker 2: get to do this. I don't have to thanks to
- 19:41Speaker 2: dar Riek, she put several.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Rs in there.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Thanks for the reminder of this. Sphace is tough, bud.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Short toddlers will test you, but being a parent is
- 19:50Speaker 2: the best job in the world.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out her. I do the whole full time
- 19:55Speaker 1: job gig and trying to balance. And then if you're
- 19:58Speaker 1: on a waiting list for daycare and you're trying to
- 20:00Speaker 1: figure out the kids all the time, like god, that
- 20:02Speaker 1: is these waitlists are crazy. It's not a fun stress
- 20:06Speaker 1: with the marriage in the household because you're like, I
- 20:09Speaker 1: gotta do this, yes, then you're trying to like put
- 20:11Speaker 1: yourself in their shoes. It's kind of hard to put
- 20:13Speaker 1: yourself in their shoes when you're just consumed in your
- 20:15Speaker 1: own work and your own things that you gotta do.
- 20:16Speaker 1: It's like, dog, can we just get ahead of this
- 20:18Speaker 1: and figure out what we're going to be doing with
- 20:20Speaker 1: the kids.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe Jill and I only got into our
- 20:23Speaker 2: daycare when we did because two couples dropped out, and
- 20:27Speaker 2: it's like.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Thank god, and we barely got in because you grind,
- 20:30Speaker 1: I know, Jilly being grinds. Yeah, with a nursing and
- 20:33Speaker 1: everything else. But those are long.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Shifts, yes, but we did have a good like maternity
- 20:39Speaker 2: paternity leave, like we had time to kill you know.
- 20:43Speaker 1: But either way, even when you get back to work,
- 20:44Speaker 1: like it still weighs on you at some point, especially
- 20:46Speaker 1: again when the priority list of like the couple like
- 20:50Speaker 1: you and wifey, like your time or your own social time,
- 20:53Speaker 1: like it kind of falls to the bottom of the
- 20:55Speaker 1: list because you're trying to keep your head above water
- 20:58Speaker 1: on working and then the couple hours at home with
- 21:00Speaker 1: the kids, and then once the kid goes down, if
- 21:02Speaker 1: you get an hour maybe two hours at most, for
- 21:04Speaker 1: whether it's family dinner or catching up or hanging out,
- 21:06Speaker 1: trying not to be on your phone, just all the
- 21:08Speaker 1: things going on externally in your life, and then once
- 21:11Speaker 1: the kids go down, like you're just both so exhausted,
- 21:13Speaker 1: and then those days stack up and then all of
- 21:15Speaker 1: a sudden, you're just you're feeling this, uh your three restlessness. Yeah, yo,
- 21:19Speaker 1: we don't do shit. We've kind of lost who are
- 21:22Speaker 1: and you're kind of at each other's throat a little bit.
- 21:24Speaker 1: So it's big time when you can get childcare and
- 21:26Speaker 1: everything else taken off. And that feels like a weight
- 21:27Speaker 1: off of her shoulders. Yes, that line stuck out to
- 21:30Speaker 1: me too.
- 21:30Speaker 2: If like I am now I can now breathe and
- 21:33Speaker 2: enjoy motherhood, that's a really good feeling. Yeah, that's a
- 21:36Speaker 2: good feeling, so Katie, awesome, awesome to hear. But yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 2: I have some other like comments are separate, we get
- 21:45Speaker 2: just dad comments and we can do laate.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yeah, we can hit. We can hit some of those.
- 21:48Speaker 1: We can hit some of those later. I wanted to
- 21:49Speaker 1: get into some storytelling, like how was your weekend?
- 21:52Speaker 2: It?
- 21:53Speaker 1: I saw I was following you on X Go Go
- 21:57Speaker 1: Go follow the boy see if be memes.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Right Shurm Stew underscore two okay on Twitter and instagram
- 22:05Speaker 2: s Stew underscore too, Yes, sir, but I was kind
- 22:08Speaker 2: of following that story where you're traveling, you're going to Texas. Yeah, yes, sir,
- 22:13Speaker 2: and then you guys got stuck. We got stuck. I
- 22:17Speaker 2: kind of bulleted everything down so I can do a
- 22:21Speaker 2: run through and then we can just touch on whatever
- 22:23Speaker 2: we want to touch on.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Ye tell your stories and then we'll chime in whenever
- 22:26Speaker 1: we have fabulous.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Fabulous as far as travel goes. This is my worst
- 22:33Speaker 2: day of travel ever, So congratulations to that we have
- 22:36Speaker 2: now a top three. Just a lot of stress in general.
- 22:41Speaker 2: We made it through, we survived. But let me break
- 22:43Speaker 2: it down for you. Very first thing, bottle broke on
- 22:47Speaker 2: the plane. Bottle broke, bottle broke, cap busted, and so
- 22:50Speaker 2: water got everywhere because we had some pre made babas. Yeah,
- 22:56Speaker 2: Jill packed four bottles because she's an absolute savage. She
- 23:01Speaker 2: is my shout out this week. I'll get into that.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So we're working with four bottles and she has three
- 23:07Speaker 2: emergency ones. Essentially, Hey, we'll never need three bottles. It's
- 23:10Speaker 2: an hour fifteen minute flight.
- 23:12Speaker 1: We're good.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Flight circles DFW for several hours because of the thunderstorms
- 23:19Speaker 2: and the jets about to run out of gas, so
- 23:21Speaker 2: we had to put down in Houston and sit on
- 23:23Speaker 2: the tarmac for three hours. We then finally got into
- 23:28Speaker 2: the gate, refieled, go back onto the tarmac, sit there
- 23:31Speaker 2: first when you.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Got to the game refueled. Are you guys getting off
- 23:34Speaker 1: the plane or are you having to stay on? No
- 23:35Speaker 1: d planning. So you're trapped on this plane for about
- 23:37Speaker 1: five hours now for.
- 23:39Speaker 2: About five hours now, so now we have fed again.
- 23:43Speaker 2: We've gone into our second bottle and counted. We had
- 23:46Speaker 2: four to begin with. One popped and exploded.
- 23:48Speaker 1: But the emergency bar you got three backups.
- 23:51Speaker 2: We got three backups, so we went one two. So
- 23:53Speaker 2: now sorry, but we we we have one left.
- 23:58Speaker 1: We have one left and to the DFW.
- 24:05Speaker 2: So we refeel and we started heading to DFW, thank god,
- 24:09Speaker 2: because we were we really were thinking if this takes
- 24:14Speaker 2: any longer, like we're gonna either one start having to
- 24:16Speaker 2: barter in trade with people on the plane because we
- 24:19Speaker 2: heard some babies up in the front of the plane
- 24:21Speaker 2: going ballistic like so we got a squad of.
- 24:25Speaker 1: P six and EMT sixers in there fighting for our lives.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Yes, Derek just would love to hear how Scarscar did
- 24:31Speaker 3: during the three hours, because me as a person, I'd
- 24:33Speaker 3: be like, oh, I can put a movie on, can't
- 24:35Speaker 3: do that, So how is scarscard during the five hours
- 24:38Speaker 3: or so?
- 24:38Speaker 2: There I cannot like this goes into my empty six
- 24:42Speaker 2: shout out, which I made it a new segment.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Boom, there it.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Is empty six shout out goes to Jill Young happens
- 24:51Speaker 2: to be my wife, being an absolute savage and forced
- 24:54Speaker 2: to be reckoned with when it comes to maternal instakes.
- 24:58Speaker 2: She was finding on that plane, just bouncing scarlet, holding
- 25:04Speaker 2: scarlet and shake and back and forth and singing songs
- 25:07Speaker 2: and doing dances and trading her off to me. And
- 25:09Speaker 2: now I'm playing I'm playing trader.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Back to Jill.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Let's get Mickey Mouse Clubhouse going. Now, let's get that going.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Let's diaper changer. She had two blowouts on the plane.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Jill's I even she's just operating. It was it truly,
- 25:24Speaker 2: it kind of felt like when you're on a team
- 25:25Speaker 2: you have that one like just nuclear dude that you're like, yeah,
- 25:31Speaker 2: like so glad they're on my team and not on
- 25:33Speaker 2: the opponent, the opposing.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Team, Like this guy's awesome. Sure, it's the story he's
- 25:39Speaker 1: told so far as right now, it seems more like
- 25:42Speaker 1: the group project going on, and she's just handling the
- 25:44Speaker 1: group project a million percent, because I was scared when
- 25:48Speaker 1: I saw you post the one selfie and I think
- 25:50Speaker 1: you had the headphones in for dramatic effect. When you're
- 25:56Speaker 1: here to take it for a second, all right, go
- 25:59Speaker 1: back two blowouts. Jewels doesn't even sweat. She's handle it.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I'm consuming terminal List right now.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah, what honey? What is that is terminal List? Dark Wolf?
- 26:08Speaker 1: Honey? Have you not been listening to the podcast? What
- 26:11Speaker 1: are you doing?
- 26:13Speaker 4: No?
- 26:13Speaker 2: But she she also like really kind of owned the moment,
- 26:16Speaker 2: like she hadn't seen Scarlet, uh for a while, like
- 26:21Speaker 2: as far as us together, and so she's really wanting
- 26:24Speaker 2: to hold Scarlet, like do the chest strap and carry
- 26:28Speaker 2: her through the airport instead of doing the strollers. So
- 26:30Speaker 2: she was like she was in her back. She was
- 26:33Speaker 2: honestly like kind of enjoying the moment as terrible as
- 26:36Speaker 2: it was, but as far as Scarlett goes, I think
- 26:41Speaker 2: it sums it up great with like an older man
- 26:44Speaker 2: and his wife were passing by us and he literally went,
- 26:47Speaker 2: holy shit, there's a baby there the whole time.
- 26:50Speaker 1: So she was quiet when all this is going down
- 26:52Speaker 1: to the little bit she cried.
- 26:53Speaker 2: She had one two minute spell and that was it.
- 26:56Speaker 2: It's a big duve man, humongous stuff. Did you you
- 27:00Speaker 2: change one of these blowouts?
- 27:01Speaker 1: No? No, no, the couch badge, airplane blowout badge.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I'm trying to think if I did in the airport.
- 27:10Speaker 2: But now she did, and she's happy to do it.
- 27:15Speaker 2: She's just like, I want to do it. Hey, can
- 27:17Speaker 2: I sit on the aisle.
- 27:19Speaker 5: Because I want to be able to like take her
- 27:21Speaker 5: to the bathroom when she Yeah, that sounds great.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Perfect for me. Say let's say, let's let me know
- 27:28Speaker 1: what you need me to do. What was I going
- 27:32Speaker 1: to say? Oh?
- 27:33Speaker 2: Places we could have flown to instead of DFW over
- 27:38Speaker 2: that stretch of from our house to Jill's mom's house
- 27:43Speaker 2: that travel day it took a total of ten hours.
- 27:47Speaker 2: We could have gone to Frankfurt that's in Germany, London, Dublin, Iceland, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona,
- 27:56Speaker 2: those are in Spain, could have gone to Rome, could
- 28:00Speaker 2: have gone to Milan, Edinburgh, Copenhagen and Stockholm. Those are
- 28:05Speaker 2: all places that we could have traveled to instead of
- 28:08Speaker 2: DFW over that span of time.
- 28:10Speaker 1: How are the parents doing? Where the kids are screaming
- 28:12Speaker 1: and stuff?
- 28:14Speaker 2: From what I could see up at the front. Some
- 28:17Speaker 2: of the parents did like stand when we were in
- 28:19Speaker 2: Houston and we're just kind of in the aisle.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Jill did that a little bit, but not too much.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Like we got up with Scarlett in Houston back like
- 28:29Speaker 2: by the bathrooms, but Scarlett was like, she was really okay.
- 28:34Speaker 2: She never once we got Mickey back. I mean we
- 28:37Speaker 2: kind of just said screw it. On the screen time
- 28:39Speaker 2: we're like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse go and Mickey Mouse is
- 28:45Speaker 2: doing his thing and I'm just holding school right there
- 28:48Speaker 2: and she's just with their arms stretched out, just love it.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse locked in.
- 28:54Speaker 1: That's a hey, that's a dub man because that could
- 28:56Speaker 1: have that could have got south quick, because you just
- 28:58Speaker 1: never know. I've had a couple of situation, whether it's
- 29:00Speaker 1: Rue when she's younger, Scotty when we were flying to
- 29:04Speaker 1: or from Canada, where Scotty was having a moment, I'm
- 29:06Speaker 1: like standing up in the aisle. You know, He's going
- 29:09Speaker 1: back and forth while Charro is trying to keep grow
- 29:14Speaker 1: whether it's drawing, doing a puzzle or something like that,
- 29:17Speaker 1: keeping them engaged. But they can just decide now's not
- 29:20Speaker 1: the time.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like I'm about to give you all twelve
- 29:24Speaker 2: rounds Scarlett.
- 29:26Speaker 1: I mean, Scarlett was very easy on us.
- 29:27Speaker 2: So it ended up like all said and done, was
- 29:31Speaker 2: a terrible travel day, Yes, but the part that could
- 29:35Speaker 2: have sent it to nuclear proportions of Scarlett having a
- 29:39Speaker 2: hard time never happened. We're going in town for a
- 29:43Speaker 2: wedding and I had my suits in a garment bag
- 29:47Speaker 2: and I left those in the flight attendant closet on
- 29:50Speaker 2: the plane. Those are still missing. I went up to
- 29:53Speaker 2: DFW's lost and found it wasn't in the lost and
- 29:56Speaker 2: found it was just Also, it really was a catastrophe.
- 30:02Speaker 1: It's always bring good well all these bad things are happening. Yeah, No,
- 30:05Speaker 1: that's a hard thing to do. But I feel like
- 30:07Speaker 1: since you're kind of you were doing the story on Twitter,
- 30:09Speaker 1: I feel like it's almost a soft reminder, like, oh okay,
- 30:12Speaker 1: I'm let be d six Now I gotta lock the
- 30:13Speaker 1: fuck in.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yes, I definitely was trying my hardest to keep my cool.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I I will not lie like there was a part
- 30:22Speaker 2: of me that I was in my own mental health
- 30:24Speaker 2: because we have a Black Friday video that we filmed,
- 30:28Speaker 2: and I'm wanting to get that done before Black Friday
- 30:32Speaker 2: and Thursday literally went jun up in flames because I
- 30:36Speaker 2: was gonna edit once I like got there.
- 30:38Speaker 1: You're trying to get it done so that way you
- 30:39Speaker 1: don't have this stuff on your mind throughout the weekend
- 30:41Speaker 1: while you're spending time with friends and stuff like.
- 30:43Speaker 2: That, exactly, and get get to Jill's mom's house. The
- 30:48Speaker 2: one chord that you can't forget to pack to like
- 30:51Speaker 2: edit on the road, because I brought the computer my
- 30:54Speaker 2: Apple Max Studio power chord.
- 30:58Speaker 1: That is.
- 30:58Speaker 2: So I'm just like, I'm literally just in that moment,
- 31:01Speaker 2: I sat there in silence for maybe ten minutes in
- 31:04Speaker 2: the guest bedroom. I was like, I just need to breathe.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I just need to breathe, and just it's okay. How
- 31:11Speaker 2: did the Black Friday video come out? It's not done yet? Yeah,
- 31:15Speaker 2: even close, not even close.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Lily Jobs, Yeah, the little clip you sent in the
- 31:20Speaker 1: group chat was hilarious.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Oh it's so funny and I can't wait to edit
- 31:24Speaker 2: it and I can't wait, like to get my paws
- 31:27Speaker 2: on it. But it sounds like Wednesday will be the
- 31:30Speaker 2: day that I will just get it done, put a
- 31:33Speaker 2: little pin in it.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Well, but trip was good though. Trip was good Texas. Yeah,
- 31:40Speaker 2: Texas was good. The wedding was really fun. That was
- 31:43Speaker 2: Jill and I's like first official night without Scarlet. Oh
- 31:48Speaker 2: and like getting to go out her mom watched Scarlet.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Are you feeling Young and Free? Young and Free?
- 31:53Speaker 2: Had some drinks in me, some espresso, teenisy, some ranch waters.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Have you ever heard of the dueling pianos? They hired
- 32:03Speaker 2: dueling pianos for the reception. It was one of the
- 32:07Speaker 2: best wedding receptions I've ever been to. Do you know
- 32:09Speaker 2: what dueling pianos is?
- 32:10Speaker 1: Ah, I've heard it.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Okay, It's like a big bar scene thing where it's
- 32:15Speaker 2: basically two guys that are extremely funny will like riff
- 32:18Speaker 2: off of each other while they're playing covers of popular
- 32:21Speaker 2: songs on pianos. Doesn't sound all that great. I think
- 32:25Speaker 2: it sounds like a vibe, Okay, a couple of good
- 32:27Speaker 2: ones like that. To me, sounds like a vibe where
- 32:29Speaker 2: they're just keeping juice alive throughout the entire event. And
- 32:31Speaker 2: here's the kicker napkins that you put your song requests,
- 32:35Speaker 2: and they're doing requests all night and you're dropping the
- 32:37Speaker 2: napkins on there and these guys are like standing up,
- 32:41Speaker 2: you know, going nuts.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Did you write a song on the napkin? I did
- 32:46Speaker 1: Freaka League No Pablo Freaka. They did some hip hop covers. Yeah,
- 32:51Speaker 1: I did bust a move by Young MC. Okay, they
- 32:57Speaker 1: did not play it.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I was not offended. I still had a really fun night.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Actually got the guy's card. I got the guy's card.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Why didn't he gets you out the National Tennessee.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I said, here's the deal. You guys travel, but you're
- 33:10Speaker 1: through a dueling pianos event for PT six one of
- 33:13Speaker 1: our beatofs. That'd be so much fun pianos.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Oh but yeah, that's that's the tail.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Nude shout out parents traveling with their kids. Man, Yeah,
- 33:24Speaker 1: road ain't easy. You hope it goes smooth, but it
- 33:26Speaker 1: gets choppy.
- 33:27Speaker 2: And I do want to shout out all the PT
- 33:31Speaker 2: sixers that were replying to my story. A lot of
- 33:35Speaker 2: people jumping in the foxhole, one of which is my
- 33:39Speaker 2: dad hacked this week. Could not find his uh DM
- 33:43Speaker 2: to save my life. But these are bags that you
- 33:47Speaker 2: put inside of your bottle. So essentially you can fill
- 33:51Speaker 2: a bottle with uh formula, breast milk, whatever, feed baby,
- 33:57Speaker 2: and then you dispense that bag that was in side
- 34:00Speaker 2: the bottle. So no more traveling with four bottles. You
- 34:03Speaker 2: just need one bottle with the bag in there, and
- 34:08Speaker 2: they sell them on Amazon. I'll send you like a
- 34:10Speaker 2: screenshot and stuff chef for the Amazon product. The shout
- 34:15Speaker 2: out that is like the best dad hack of all time.
- 34:19Speaker 1: So thank you PT six, Thank you PT six, Like
- 34:23Speaker 1: I went on a rant there, No, it's good you
- 34:26Speaker 1: were traveling, bro. We got to hear the travel stories. Yeah,
- 34:29Speaker 1: parents do it all the time. You have to, and
- 34:31Speaker 1: God bless them. Yeah, sick kiddos. That's the one that
- 34:36Speaker 1: that's that was my weekend, our weekend. Rue we did
- 34:41Speaker 1: a sleepover on Friday night and it's where we did
- 34:44Speaker 1: a pizza movie Friday movie. We watch Wicked, great movie.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Great Wicked was a great movie. And Rue stays all
- 34:54Speaker 1: stays all night with the sleeps over with me and
- 34:56Speaker 1: Charro and Dude in the middle night four in the morning,
- 35:01Speaker 1: who all of a sudden gets up and starts to projectile,
- 35:03Speaker 1: vomiting all over the place on her pillow on the
- 35:08Speaker 1: bed on Chorro. Dad, I made it out a lot.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I survived the vomit. And then all of a sudden,
- 35:14Speaker 1: Charles like I didn't think you're gonna wake up there
- 35:16Speaker 1: for a second, was kind of sleeping through it for
- 35:18Speaker 1: a minute and woke up. It was what's going on?
- 35:20Speaker 1: What's going on? Roofstwing up everywhere. I was like, oh shit,
- 35:24Speaker 1: gotta got out of the bed. Wa what do we
- 35:26Speaker 1: gotta do? They were in there cleaning up. And then
- 35:28Speaker 1: as they finish up, clean up, I'm letting root notes
- 35:30Speaker 1: all right and everything like that, and I see a towel,
- 35:32Speaker 1: so I grabbed a towel and I'm like, all right, well,
- 35:36Speaker 1: you know, let's just figure something out. And I I
- 35:39Speaker 1: forgot you go to lay the towel down on the chars,
- 35:43Speaker 1: Like what are you? What are you doing? Were you
- 35:44Speaker 1: about to? Are you just gonna lay the towel down
- 35:46Speaker 1: and we're just gonna sleep it? No, No, it's a
- 35:48Speaker 1: stupid idea. And I'm just thinking, we saw we've seen
- 35:51Speaker 1: this before, this big daddy. Throw some newspapers on it
- 35:55Speaker 1: and just keep it moving. What's so bad about that?
- 35:57Speaker 1: I got the tell I'm about the layer. Let's get
- 36:00Speaker 1: back in bed. Let's get it's four in the morning.
- 36:02Speaker 1: It's four in the morning. We're a little tired, right
- 36:04Speaker 1: Now's down? I asked myself. Am I laying on throat? No,
- 36:07Speaker 1: I'm laying on a towel. So what seems like it's
- 36:10Speaker 1: not even on your shot. I'd have to be the
- 36:11Speaker 1: one leaning. It's a fair point, fair point. Well, we
- 36:15Speaker 1: got we gotta change the sheet something and let's just
- 36:16Speaker 1: move up to the guest room or something. This is
- 36:18Speaker 1: one of my angest sheets. We gotta get stuff and laundry.
- 36:20Speaker 1: We gotta get stuff, getting the washer. Like again, she
- 36:24Speaker 1: Charle handled it. I was like, God, we gotta all right, Rube,
- 36:27Speaker 1: get off the bed. Mom wants to change the sheets.
- 36:29Speaker 1: And look over at charlew do you want puke all
- 36:33Speaker 1: over the sheets? You gotta walk, we gotta wash.
- 36:34Speaker 2: You want to clean the sheets? Your mom wants to
- 36:36Speaker 2: clean the sheets. She's a psychopath, honey. I can't believe
- 36:41Speaker 2: she's doing it, but she wants.
- 36:43Speaker 1: You know, I got a guy burn, Like, let's just
- 36:45Speaker 1: throw some towels down and get back in bed. Let's
- 36:47Speaker 1: hope the smell doesn't keep us awake.
- 36:49Speaker 2: That's that's real, coming to your stuff at four o'clock
- 36:53Speaker 2: in the morning, that I might tell you.
- 36:55Speaker 1: That's one of my favorite memes on the But yeah,
- 36:59Speaker 1: so Rooster up she's sick. She's got this little bug
- 37:01Speaker 1: she got from school. Usually the way it goes, as
- 37:04Speaker 1: I've been told from the parents out there. Taylor was
- 37:06Speaker 1: putting me on game. I'm here from other parents, it
- 37:08Speaker 1: gets gets infiltrated in the school, gets carried home, the
- 37:11Speaker 1: young one gets it, after the kids get it, mom
- 37:13Speaker 1: gets and then I'm the sitting duck. I haven't I
- 37:16Speaker 1: haven't gotten sick yet. But on Sunday, Scotti ends up
- 37:20Speaker 1: throwing up on herself in the crib. We could wake
- 37:23Speaker 1: up again. I don't know if it's like three in
- 37:25Speaker 1: the morning. I don't know what time is. With the
- 37:27Speaker 1: weekend that we had gone on with the lack of sleep,
- 37:30Speaker 1: but Scotti ends up getting sick on Sunday to where
- 37:34Speaker 1: we got to go up. We're cleaning her up. She's
- 37:36Speaker 1: laying in bed with us. She's kind of just stays
- 37:38Speaker 1: awake from about five in the morning on. Couldn't get
- 37:41Speaker 1: her back to sleep. You can kind of smell it
- 37:42Speaker 1: in her hair. She needs a bath and stuff, and
- 37:44Speaker 1: you're just like these poor kids, dude. So my wife,
- 37:47Speaker 1: you know, Saturday we stream the game. Oh god, we
- 37:50Speaker 1: streamed the game on Saturday. So Rue's sick, you know,
- 37:53Speaker 1: Friday day and night. Yeah, Friday night, Saturday morning. So
- 37:56Speaker 1: Rue's sick. Oh well, and so we're having like, uh,
- 38:00Speaker 1: you know, skipping ballet. Keep her home. She's not feeling good,
- 38:03Speaker 1: she's not eating well. YadA YadA YadA. Charlo like as
- 38:07Speaker 1: we're streaming, Charles like, I'm gonna get him outside. We're
- 38:09Speaker 1: gonna go to the go to the park or du
- 38:11Speaker 1: a walk. She goes to Percy Warner got his massive hill,
- 38:14Speaker 1: all these stairs up at the tip top. Do you
- 38:16Speaker 1: know what I'm talking about, deeg chef. So we're at
- 38:20Speaker 1: the top and or not. We Charles at the top
- 38:23Speaker 1: of the kids and Rue ends up projectile vomiting again.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's just Charles. She went to take Waffle too, so
- 38:28Speaker 1: it's Waffle Mom, Rue, Scottie. And then all of a sudden,
- 38:33Speaker 1: he's like, I don't feel too good, and she's like, oh,
- 38:35Speaker 1: hang on, and she just starts projectile vomiting all over everything.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Oh my god, all over the the stroller on Scottie.
- 38:43Speaker 1: You know, I don't know if anything. I'm sure Waffle
- 38:45Speaker 1: got hit with some shrapnel. He probably hit it up.
- 38:48Speaker 1: She's yeah, she's at the you know, Charles like getting
- 38:50Speaker 1: clothes off her. It's a little cold outside, like, uh,
- 38:54Speaker 1: trying to handle all this stuff at the top part
- 38:55Speaker 1: of the stairs and wondering like how she can just
- 38:57Speaker 1: get down because you have to like walk this, you know,
- 38:59Speaker 1: like say a mile long path around to get back down.
- 39:03Speaker 1: And she said this family was awesome to her, like
- 39:06Speaker 1: comes up, Hey, we'll help you out. They're trying to
- 39:08Speaker 1: get everything carried down into the car. She gets to
- 39:10Speaker 1: the car, left the stroller behind. I'm gonna get the
- 39:11Speaker 1: car pulled around. She gets to the car, realized the
- 39:13Speaker 1: keys are in the stroller. She's just going through an
- 39:16Speaker 1: absolute disaster. She's going through an absolute disaster while I'm watching,
- 39:20Speaker 1: While I'm watching Missoo Oklahoma with the Boys and a
- 39:23Speaker 1: Busting with the boys. It Yeah, how's it going on?
- 39:26Speaker 1: We're having a great time. They cooked us eggs, bacon, biscuits.
- 39:30Speaker 1: We got my most jacks cooking pancakes. Miss the reason
- 39:36Speaker 1: a dog fight right now. I think they got a
- 39:37Speaker 1: shot the cover here coach sprint to the show. Yeah,
- 39:40Speaker 1: I got them plus eight and a half on Sunday
- 39:41Speaker 1: line moved down to five and a half. I really
- 39:43Speaker 1: like where I'm at that's good. I'm going through a
- 39:47Speaker 1: disaster right now with the kids. You don't know what
- 39:50Speaker 1: to say, Like on the phone, you just feel guilty
- 39:52Speaker 1: that you can't be there to help them out. You
- 39:53Speaker 1: know they're going through hell. Charles got her shirt off
- 39:55Speaker 1: and everything because pukes all you know, peaks No, yeah,
- 39:59Speaker 1: got wash, we gotta clean the stroller, gotta get there.
- 40:01Speaker 1: We got I'm thinking, hey, what do you know, here's
- 40:04Speaker 1: a dad, here's here's where dad comes in. I'll take
- 40:06Speaker 1: the powerwash of the stroller. I don't know if it
- 40:07Speaker 1: needs that intensive.
- 40:08Speaker 2: The hooker man to get it that we love with
- 40:10Speaker 2: the raccoon getting in the coffee.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, just spraying down the stroller. Yeah, but uh yeah,
- 40:17Speaker 1: it was it was. Uh it was hell over the weekend,
- 40:19Speaker 1: more so for the wife because again it's like I
- 40:21Speaker 1: could sleep through about any I didn't think you're gonna
- 40:23Speaker 1: wake up there for a second when Rush ISAs you know,
- 40:26Speaker 1: freaking out, feeling bad. She's puking everywhere. Get a towel
- 40:29Speaker 1: on it, let's get back.
- 40:32Speaker 5: Sorry, sorry, you you were sleep for like the first
- 40:35Speaker 5: part of it.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I was I'm not judging you think it's funny.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I was asleep when apparently woke up and it
- 40:42Speaker 1: was like my tummy doesn't feel good, like let's get
- 40:44Speaker 1: you and then the boom, it's going everywhere, it's all
- 40:46Speaker 1: getting on Charrow, it's all over the you saw the photo,
- 40:48Speaker 1: if you saw the photo I posted that on actually
- 40:50Speaker 1: just vomited all over everywhere. Rube puking. We got the
- 40:56Speaker 1: route projectile againstcott He's okay at this point. On Saturday,
- 40:59Speaker 1: then you're going to a day and night huskers get
- 41:01Speaker 1: their shit pushed in by Penn State. Then on Sunday
- 41:04Speaker 1: you got Scottie throwing up. Then yesterday on what day
- 41:08Speaker 1: is it right now? Tuesday? On Monday, Charli wakes up.
- 41:11Speaker 1: She's not feeling good. She's got like the body aches,
- 41:13Speaker 1: the cold, sweats and stuff going on. No fever, but
- 41:16Speaker 1: just feels like shit. Yeah, and our nanny she's pregnant
- 41:22Speaker 1: right now. We don't want to get her sick. We
- 41:23Speaker 1: want to figure out childcare. Well, we're trying to cram
- 41:25Speaker 1: in all of our stuff here with bust and she's
- 41:28Speaker 1: probably trying to fish. She's trying to figure out all
- 41:29Speaker 1: of her work stuff. She feels like hell, like, how
- 41:32Speaker 1: do we maneuver all this and I'm just thinking I'm
- 41:34Speaker 1: a sitting duck. It's going to be me next. But
- 41:35Speaker 1: right now, Dad's got a strong As of right now,
- 41:39Speaker 1: Dad's got an immune system of steel.
- 41:40Speaker 4: There's a Dad card you can play here that it's
- 41:44Speaker 4: within all of us, and it's the phrase, I don't
- 41:46Speaker 4: have time to get sick. My father, John Gordon Hanning,
- 41:51Speaker 4: has been using that for twenty years and I've never
- 41:53Speaker 4: seen him sick once in his life. Me and my
- 41:55Speaker 4: little brother and my mother could be on our deathbed
- 41:59Speaker 4: like a child in the medieval or with you know
- 42:02Speaker 4: the whatever swine flew was there, Oh yeah, and he
- 42:06Speaker 4: will go now. I don't have time to get sick,
- 42:08Speaker 4: never got sick, and I've started doing it as of
- 42:11Speaker 4: like last year, barring one night last year in January
- 42:14Speaker 4: we had a fever and then got a quick little
- 42:16Speaker 4: twenty four hour bug.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Don't get sick. It works, hey bet six. We don't
- 42:21Speaker 1: got time to get sick. We don't have time to
- 42:22Speaker 1: get sick.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Knock on wood though, and I would then say for
- 42:27Speaker 2: just a bit of busting lord very quickly. This has
- 42:30Speaker 2: been something that has been in the back of my
- 42:32Speaker 2: head since I started working here. I don't think I've
- 42:35Speaker 2: ever seen an office not get sick as much as
- 42:39Speaker 2: the busting with the boys office. It's cod I know,
- 42:43Speaker 2: because I honestly I'd never say that, but I think
- 42:46Speaker 2: about it. I think about it all the time. I'm like,
- 42:48Speaker 2: it's almost weird. Is it just because this is a
- 42:51Speaker 2: fun place to work at? So if we do feel shitty,
- 42:54Speaker 2: we still come in. Maybe it's because it's a little
- 42:55Speaker 2: bit of a hell hole. We're kind of like forged
- 42:57Speaker 2: in fire, you know what I mean, sweating it out,
- 43:01Speaker 2: spread it out toxins at old times. Like maybe maybe,
- 43:07Speaker 2: but I think about it a lot. It's kind of crazy. Yeah, yeah,
- 43:12Speaker 2: but we are kissing up here. Yeah, Taylor, I think
- 43:17Speaker 2: about him, like, we don't have a whole lot of depth.
- 43:19Speaker 2: We got guys that fell in dude thing, but god
- 43:21Speaker 2: forbid if somebody got bed ridden for a little bit. Yeah,
- 43:24Speaker 2: there's really New Orleans with the oysters. That's like the
- 43:27Speaker 2: only time that I've seen something crippling like that.
- 43:32Speaker 1: You didn't catch You didn't catch it. New Orleans did not.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Mitch and I did not go with y'all to the
- 43:37Speaker 2: because we were editing. Yeah, we lucked out.
- 43:40Speaker 4: I think there is something to say that like, guys,
- 43:42Speaker 4: don't it feels like guys, as you get older, you
- 43:45Speaker 4: don't get sick as much, but when you do get sick,
- 43:48Speaker 4: it is bed like if you get sick, sick, it's death,
- 43:52Speaker 4: like if you get the flu or even like if
- 43:54Speaker 4: you get COVID or something. Whereas like your significant other
- 43:58Speaker 4: might be like they might be sick, don't feel great,
- 44:00Speaker 4: but they're up and running, you know, Whereas.
- 44:02Speaker 1: If you catch it, it's like God forbid you catch it.
- 44:05Speaker 1: You feel like you're going. I know because I feel
- 44:07Speaker 1: like I have the mentality where I question everybody when
- 44:09Speaker 1: they're say they're sick, because I feel like I don't
- 44:12Speaker 1: get popped off and knock on wood, knocking wood, knock
- 44:14Speaker 1: on wood.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Jill that that's the one compliment that I love hearing
- 44:18Speaker 2: from my wife is she was like, Truman is very
- 44:21Speaker 2: tough when it comes to like being sick, Like he
- 44:23Speaker 2: will rough it, yeah, and he's down and out. I'm like, Okay,
- 44:27Speaker 2: he's sick. And that's coming from a nurse. It's like
- 44:30Speaker 2: I see a lot of people kind of selling it.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Tapping out, yeah, tapping out early. We got time to
- 44:35Speaker 2: be We don't got time to belied. I guess so,
- 44:38Speaker 2: so I will take that compliment.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I always see it to his opportunity. Like last night,
- 44:43Speaker 1: I'm kind of wheeling and dealing in the kitchen getting
- 44:45Speaker 1: everything clear away. You're just thinking, all right, little you
- 44:48Speaker 1: know dad, time to put in some work here. Yeah,
- 44:51Speaker 1: well the wife can chill a little bit. Then I
- 44:53Speaker 1: think to myself, what's going to happen here at bedtime?
- 44:56Speaker 1: And I know Charles like listening to this right now,
- 44:58Speaker 1: she's probably maybe giggling, maybe being like, what's we're gonna
- 45:00Speaker 1: say now? I'm just wondering to myself, am I gonna
- 45:03Speaker 1: hit double bedtime? I'm ready to go for double bedtime,
- 45:06Speaker 1: But I'm wondering if she's going to make a move
- 45:07Speaker 1: to do bedtime because I remember a time where I
- 45:10Speaker 1: actually had I caught COVID or something. I was sick
- 45:13Speaker 1: when Rue was young, and I'm up there, I'm upstairs
- 45:17Speaker 1: with the mask on, putting her to sleep. She's a
- 45:20Speaker 1: part of me wondering like, what move is, wife, you're
- 45:22Speaker 1: gonna make here? Because I got one in the chamber
- 45:25Speaker 1: when if I hit the double bedtime duty? Or my
- 45:28Speaker 1: head just want you to know, you know, no you're sick.
- 45:32Speaker 1: I'm glad you're you're on the couch, you're you know,
- 45:35Speaker 1: you want to take care of yourself. I do empathize
- 45:37Speaker 1: with that, but I do want you to know, Willie
- 45:38Speaker 1: c when I had COVID, you had me up there.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I was with the mask on, putting still putting rude
- 45:42Speaker 1: to sleep. That was only when we had one. Just
- 45:45Speaker 1: don't want to rub that one in your face. But
- 45:47Speaker 1: she showed up. It was more like I was getting
- 45:49Speaker 1: Scottie ready to go to bed, because again she had
- 45:51Speaker 1: been sick on Sunday, Monday or Sunday night some Monday morning.
- 45:55Speaker 1: So she was sick yesterday, yeah, and so feeling better today. Okay, Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 1: She she slept real good for her Monday morning naps
- 46:04Speaker 1: up like two hours, slept another two hours in the afternoon.
- 46:06Speaker 1: And Charles's just like she's been tired, like you can tell,
- 46:09Speaker 1: like her body is a little week right now and
- 46:11Speaker 1: she's like craving kind of going to sleep and everything else.
- 46:13Speaker 1: But last night she's up, you know, being Scott's zilla
- 46:16Speaker 1: and then getting it ready for bed. I'm like, okay,
- 46:17Speaker 1: I'll try to hit this one on the dot. Like
- 46:19Speaker 1: in between the six fifty seven o'clock range, get her
- 46:22Speaker 1: going in case I do need to be the guy
- 46:24Speaker 1: for Rue. Because Ruth was being a sweetheart with Scottie
- 46:28Speaker 1: and being nice because she didn't have to go to
- 46:30Speaker 1: school yesterday because she had the bug, because it came
- 46:33Speaker 1: from school, and you're not wanting to put her back
- 46:34Speaker 1: in the way. It's getting passed around right now. So
- 46:37Speaker 1: she got the chill. So she was in apparently the
- 46:39Speaker 1: greatest of moods because she was, you know, not going
- 46:42Speaker 1: to school. She's showing me everything. She drew with Chark
- 46:45Speaker 1: outside in the driveway, taking me through these obstacle courses.
- 46:47Speaker 1: So she was in a great mood. Yeah, but I'm
- 46:49Speaker 1: kind of strategizing how this is going to go. Then Charle.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Once I came out with Scottie, I see Charle was
- 46:55Speaker 1: in the bedroom with Rue, just being a superhero. I'm like,
- 46:57Speaker 1: all right, yeah, shed not exceeded the expectations, but I'm like,
- 47:02Speaker 1: all right, didn't have to didn't have to think we
- 47:04Speaker 1: got to. Yeah, we got a gamer here because I
- 47:07Speaker 1: was ready to joke with her a little bit, just
- 47:08Speaker 1: so you know. And I have a photo right here, Daddy,
- 47:11Speaker 1: right now. He ain't a fucking mask. So or we did.
- 47:21Speaker 2: We got back onto you were talking about the sick weekend.
- 47:26Speaker 2: We got off on some subject. I wanted to make
- 47:28Speaker 2: sure that was the full story.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that I don't know anymore. Okay, but on Monday,
- 47:35Speaker 1: wrap it up with the shout out today. Hats off
- 47:37Speaker 1: to the wifey, Hats off to the you're on the
- 47:38Speaker 1: other sideline, You're like, all right, good play, call right there,
- 47:41Speaker 1: because I was ready to get you.
- 47:43Speaker 2: And then you got further shots on on Monday on
- 47:46Speaker 2: live television. You've been you've been taking a lot of yea, yeah,
- 47:50Speaker 2: you've been taking a lot of hits.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Yeah, sick household. George Kittle, he didn't know it, but
- 47:54Speaker 1: he's taken crazy shots at me on national television. He
- 47:58Speaker 1: probably wouldn't have got I'm sure he still would if
- 48:01Speaker 1: he's an Iowa guy. These Iowa guys are classless. He's
- 48:03Speaker 1: trying to call me classless because I'm messaging him during
- 48:06Speaker 1: the day of the game. I'm just letting him know
- 48:07Speaker 1: I'm coming to you as a man. Let you know
- 48:09Speaker 1: that Nebraskas gonna stop a mudhole in your ass. You go,
- 48:11Speaker 1: you don't even respond to me, You go on national
- 48:13Speaker 1: television and call me out for all these things. He
- 48:16Speaker 1: doesn't even know I got. I got sick kids and
- 48:18Speaker 1: a wife at the house, and he's just out here
- 48:19Speaker 1: taking shots at me. I'm trying to keep my head
- 48:21Speaker 1: above water. I went to get to the Chiefs over
- 48:23Speaker 1: the weekend, so when that fell through, I got all
- 48:25Speaker 1: the Chief's Nation. I'm assuming Swifties as well. Yeah, coming
- 48:29Speaker 1: at your boy, just taking a random straight again. On
- 48:32Speaker 1: Monday night football, after George Kittle has like seven eight receptions,
- 48:35Speaker 1: six seven receptions, and you know, volume was down. I
- 48:40Speaker 1: was studying the games for the College Football show. I'm
- 48:43Speaker 1: trying to do the for the Dad's Prep college and NFL,
- 48:45Speaker 1: Like I'm stating, prepping, trying to find some fun facts
- 48:47Speaker 1: all these rivalry games we have coming up this weekend.
- 48:49Speaker 1: It was about ten thirty at night. I had the
- 48:51Speaker 1: volume on eight, so the TV was on background. The
- 48:53Speaker 1: game was over. I see Scott Van Pelton. I enjoyed
- 48:55Speaker 1: me a little as VP action. Come on, they all
- 48:58Speaker 1: do yeah, And I see George statline. I'm good for
- 49:00Speaker 1: the boy. George. That's friend, he's a friend of the show.
- 49:02Speaker 1: That's we're boys. And then all of a sudden, I
- 49:05Speaker 1: just hear in the distance because again volumes at eight
- 49:08Speaker 1: Scot van Pelle, I know you want to address your
- 49:09Speaker 1: Nebraska friend here in a little bit, and I'm thinking,
- 49:11Speaker 1: I kind of turn over. I dropped the pen and
- 49:13Speaker 1: look over at the TV. It's like one of those
- 49:15Speaker 1: little sas memes. Where is he talking about Mecavo? I thought, yeah, me,
- 49:22Speaker 1: and so I turned the volume up to about thirty
- 49:24Speaker 1: two and just sit there until the moment comes and
- 49:26Speaker 1: he just destroys. He goes. He cuts a great w
- 49:30Speaker 1: W promo he did. Oh, and I'm just sitting there,
- 49:33Speaker 1: just taking bullets, just trying to survive, Like, all right,
- 49:36Speaker 1: you gotta get through Tuesday.
- 49:37Speaker 5: Maybe give them the opportunity to let him know that
- 49:41Speaker 5: you got some sick kids at home and maybe the
- 49:43Speaker 5: Dune changers.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I had a tweet written out using the sick kids
- 49:48Speaker 1: and the wife and like who people don't know what relationships?
- 49:51Speaker 1: So I you know, I you put it in the dress.
- 49:54Speaker 1: It's still sitting there cooking, But every buddy, I got
- 49:58Speaker 1: a sick wiping kids and I'm being give puked on
- 50:00Speaker 1: all weekend and you want to take cowardly shots of
- 50:02Speaker 1: me on National TV platform like ESPN. Who would do
- 50:05Speaker 1: such a thing. It's disgusting. Yes, yeah, you don't know
- 50:08Speaker 1: how it's going to play out, so you know what,
- 50:10Speaker 1: I'm having an emotional reaction right now. Let me just
- 50:12Speaker 1: simmer on this. Let me have a fun little video.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Cooler heads, just let him know. I'll tell you what
- 50:17Speaker 1: Nebraska beats the ass is Friday. It's it's on, It's on,
- 50:22Speaker 1: it's on. Well, just temping you guys at home to
- 50:24Speaker 1: think about right now, driving home for Thanksgiving, Oscars win
- 50:29Speaker 1: on Friday, tune in the underscore? Will we see underscore?
- 50:32Speaker 1: Will Compton on social media channels.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Yes, I I thought about texting you over this weekend,
- 50:38Speaker 2: and I apologized that I did not, but I was
- 50:41Speaker 2: thinking about it.
- 50:42Speaker 1: I had a text written out because I was in it.
- 50:45Speaker 1: I saw that you were in it. Look PT six.
- 50:48Speaker 1: You know, we know we're all being to brothers here. Yeah,
- 50:51Speaker 1: I know you're in it with me, whether or not
- 50:53Speaker 1: I hear or we say it to each other. Because
- 50:56Speaker 1: again I was following your stuff on social I'm not like, well,
- 50:58Speaker 1: I think I did say. This is what what I
- 51:00Speaker 1: sent you a text after I saw that you on
- 51:02Speaker 1: the plane.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you told me to hang in there, and
- 51:05Speaker 2: we were going back and forth about that this is
- 51:07Speaker 2: versus is.
- 51:07Speaker 1: What creates character. Yes, it was something along those lines.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you were like, I mean these are the moments
- 51:13Speaker 2: that molded you.
- 51:13Speaker 1: I think is what you said. Yeah. You just know
- 51:15Speaker 1: as a debt and just as a parent, when you're
- 51:17Speaker 1: in the suck of traveling and you something go sideways
- 51:21Speaker 1: and you're stuck in a terminal, you're sitting on the
- 51:22Speaker 1: runway for about five hours. You got a little kiddo
- 51:24Speaker 1: who knows if they're on their best behavior or not,
- 51:26Speaker 1: or if you're in a tough time. You just know
- 51:28Speaker 1: how it can test you mentally. And so it was
- 51:31Speaker 1: more just giving you. I know you're having the fun tweets,
- 51:33Speaker 1: but if you are thinking of something, this is where
- 51:35Speaker 1: you gotta lock in. This is where you gotta lock in.
- 51:37Speaker 1: You gotta be there where whenever Jill needs you. It
- 51:41Speaker 1: sounds like she was game planning. She was Ben Johnson
- 51:44Speaker 1: out there dialing it up.
- 51:44Speaker 2: She will, she was, and I think I took full
- 51:48Speaker 2: advantage of it. But I also think I'd like I
- 51:51Speaker 2: could have done a better job. On a serious note,
- 51:54Speaker 2: like I was, I was.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Deep, deep in the depths of terminalists.
- 52:00Speaker 2: No, not terminal lists, just just sad boy vibes. Yeah,
- 52:06Speaker 2: sad boy vibes. Wind out of the sale, Wind out
- 52:08Speaker 2: of the sale.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Like I I didn't quit or like throw in the
- 52:14Speaker 2: towel or anything like that, but like I just had
- 52:18Speaker 2: I had to reanalyze.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I had to reanalyze.
- 52:21Speaker 2: This could not have happened in a better week with
- 52:24Speaker 2: Thanksgiving coming up. Truly, so much to be grateful for,
- 52:28Speaker 2: so much to be grateful for. I have a good
- 52:30Speaker 2: conversation with Wifey of not like a re locking in,
- 52:35Speaker 2: but a like just kind of opening your eyes to
- 52:39Speaker 2: everything that you are grateful for, for the opportunities that
- 52:43Speaker 2: you do have, et cetera.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Of just.
- 52:47Speaker 2: You know, and I was letting an eight hour fly
- 52:50Speaker 2: little fiasco thing and forgetting the power cord and forgetting
- 52:53Speaker 2: the suit and all these lost dad lost dad last
- 52:56Speaker 2: dad loss, Like take me out of sweet moments of
- 53:00Speaker 2: like my mom coming to my aid and like we're
- 53:04Speaker 2: with Scarlet and she's got no socks or shoes on
- 53:07Speaker 2: and we're feeding her in the old navy as I'm
- 53:09Speaker 2: picking out the replacement suits and then we're going to
- 53:12Speaker 2: sports clips and I'm getting my haircut for the wedding
- 53:14Speaker 2: and it looks good, looks good.
- 53:17Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Get my haircut and scarlet sitting there and one of
- 53:22Speaker 2: the ladies that worked up there said we need to
- 53:25Speaker 2: get her an agent. She needs an agent because she's
- 53:28Speaker 2: that cute of a baby. I was like, okay, yeah.
- 53:31Speaker 1: I was like, I know, somebody, let's get her in
- 53:33Speaker 1: a couple of commercials.
- 53:35Speaker 2: She was like, I'm thinking pageants in the future. And
- 53:37Speaker 2: in the back of my head I was like, oh
- 53:39Speaker 2: my gosh, I don't know.
- 53:42Speaker 1: But me all in all, it was good. I do.
- 53:46Speaker 2: I have a special message I wanted to share very
- 53:50Speaker 2: quickly if we if we have time, I know we've been.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Gonna keep it under an hour. Yeah, well go ahead.
- 53:57Speaker 2: This was sent to us anonymously. They want me to
- 54:01Speaker 2: read after who it's from. But this message is specifically
- 54:07Speaker 2: for Will Compton. Will, does October twelfth mean anything to you?
- 54:14Speaker 1: In particular? That's where laid eyes on the Wifey, That's
- 54:20Speaker 1: where you met Wifey. I believe so October twelfth, Dallas, Washington.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Oh really that that is awesome, But that is not
- 54:31Speaker 2: that that was all I had to.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Check the game date. But I believe it was. It
- 54:34Speaker 1: was in October.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Maybe that is that also happens to be the birthday
- 54:42Speaker 2: of the Duke of Bontaire. Your father reached out to
- 54:49Speaker 2: the game the game. Your father reached out to me.
- 54:53Speaker 2: You found the DM, I found the d M. Yeah,
- 54:56Speaker 2: go ahead, Hey, sure, meant to in this a couple
- 55:00Speaker 2: of weeks ago. A question to surprise will with on
- 55:02Speaker 2: the next four of the dads. Have you ever forgotten
- 55:05Speaker 2: your dad's birthday? Does October twelfth meet anything to you?
- 55:09Speaker 2: A monumental birthday of sixty two years not a shout out, nothing,
- 55:14Speaker 2: have fun with it, lmao. Bill Compton, alias Duke of Bonte,
- 55:18Speaker 2: Big Daddy Bill, a legend.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Even worse, that date was October twenty seventh. Hey, no,
- 55:30Speaker 1: but you're in the you're in the right month. Yeah,
- 55:32Speaker 1: you're in the right month.
- 55:34Speaker 2: Listen, I forgot old Bill's birthday. That's okay, two years
- 55:41Speaker 2: in a row. Oh that's okay. We're gonna come back
- 55:46Speaker 2: even harder in twenty twenty six.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Party do Yeah, I hate it, even wife, you told
- 55:56Speaker 1: me this year, like, hey, don't forget your dad's brow.
- 55:58Speaker 1: I know, I know it's my dad's birthday. Life fucking
- 56:00Speaker 1: then they just fleet It's like fleeting out of the brain.
- 56:02Speaker 1: And then he hits me the next day and you
- 56:05Speaker 1: forget something. No he told you. Yeah, okay, well that
- 56:11Speaker 1: makes me feel a bit better. I didn't he busts
- 56:13Speaker 1: my ball like hells about it.
- 56:15Speaker 2: I brought it up purely to laugh in it with you,
- 56:19Speaker 2: because I am like calling the kettle black. I am
- 56:23Speaker 2: so bad with birthdays. But you're dude, Your dad, the
- 56:27Speaker 2: Duke of bontare.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Like Duke of Bet, the Duke of BT, and prime
- 56:36Speaker 1: Dad too, like he used to. I forget what it
- 56:37Speaker 1: is now. I think it's a picture of me and
- 56:39Speaker 1: Cody sitting outside of my townhouse in Nebraska. But his
- 56:42Speaker 1: picture for the longest time, he should just be of
- 56:43Speaker 1: his dog, just dad's and putting up photos, you know,
- 56:47Speaker 1: just a profile photo is them and their dog, just
- 56:50Speaker 1: their dog. It's now him and his and his dog.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Oh and it's now him and his dog. Yeah, it's
- 56:56Speaker 1: him and his dog. Now this is his Oh yeah,
- 56:58Speaker 1: that's right.
- 57:00Speaker 5: Yeah, that one's been up there for a while, the
- 57:02Speaker 5: Duke of BT, Duke of BT bro But just that
- 57:06Speaker 5: that was the only DM that I really uh answered
- 57:10Speaker 5: over the weekend.
- 57:10Speaker 2: I did a poor job of answering DMS this weekend. Apologies,
- 57:14Speaker 2: but uh when the Duke of bontare DMS. Yeah, and
- 57:17Speaker 2: what sucks is I thought I was nailing that date.
- 57:19Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, let's see here. Does this? Does
- 57:21Speaker 1: this ring a bell? Trying to just go back in
- 57:23Speaker 1: the archives, I'm like, yeah, October's when something was I
- 57:27Speaker 1: thought it was gonna be something with Wifey's of course
- 57:29Speaker 1: my old man's dad, because she thought it was charg
- 57:32Speaker 1: DM and M or something. Once I missed that, I'm like, okay,
- 57:35Speaker 1: am I off, is this the Atlanta game? I'm trying
- 57:37Speaker 1: to think all these different these different moments.
- 57:40Speaker 4: Uh.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Jill and I two weeks out from our anniversary, realized
- 57:44Speaker 2: that we were going to be going out of town
- 57:46Speaker 2: the same week of our anniversary and we both had
- 57:50Speaker 2: no gift, nothing planned, Like we both botched our second anniversary.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Well at least you botch knew it both thinking it
- 57:58Speaker 1: was you and not her and think if you're dialed
- 58:01Speaker 1: in and it's not her and kind of got you
- 58:03Speaker 1: right now.
- 58:04Speaker 2: It was the realization like together of like, oh my god,
- 58:08Speaker 2: we're two weeks out and November eighteenth is the two
- 58:11Speaker 2: year and I'm looking up because I want to do
- 58:14Speaker 2: the date of like first year is uh paper, second
- 58:20Speaker 2: year is cotton, third year is you know, there's the
- 58:23Speaker 2: gift things. And dude, I was just so bummed. And
- 58:27Speaker 2: we we did have a great moment that because she's
- 58:29Speaker 2: working hard too, and we got the kid and just
- 58:31Speaker 2: life is crazy fast. And I told her that I
- 58:36Speaker 2: got her an anniversary gift the night of. I got
- 58:39Speaker 2: her a pepperoni pizza with the pepperoni in the shape
- 58:42Speaker 2: of the hearts. I said, I forgot to get your card.
- 58:45Speaker 2: She's like, that's okay. I got to your card and
- 58:47Speaker 2: I forgot to write in it. And we just had
- 58:50Speaker 2: a we had an anniversary night that was like just
- 58:54Speaker 2: kind of like a hey, we're really really busy and
- 58:57Speaker 2: life is like chaotic, but like you are my teammate.
- 59:01Speaker 1: I do love you, and like it was still a
- 59:03Speaker 1: good little anniversary. But yeah, we're both really really busy,
- 59:07Speaker 1: and thankfully we're both really really sorry. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 59:11Speaker 1: because we do love each other. We do love each other.
- 59:13Speaker 2: There was no one mad at each other, which was like, uh,
- 59:16Speaker 2: which was good, but it just means I gotta knock
- 59:19Speaker 2: it out of the Park big time next year.
- 59:21Speaker 1: I have to gotta show up, have to show gotta
- 59:23Speaker 1: show up, all right, quick potty break. This potty break

- 1:03:05Speaker 2: back to the sood.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: We're having some banter last week about Terminalists and how
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: great of a show it was. I got a couple here,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: a comment from on Spotify and YouTube. The one on
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Spotify is Tristan Novilla Boys. The Terminalist series will blow
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: you away. I was just just like Willy Oneshelf never
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: read fiction books. I watched the show, found out it
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: was based on a book, and read the first three
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: over one weekend. They are incredible. I'll tell you what
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: the Terminalists might get me out with these with these
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: fiction book.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: Wait did he just really quick he read three of
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: the books in one weekend. Yeah, and read the first
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: three over one weekend. They are incredible. Good lord, and
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: it's someone Willy one Scheff never read. I was just
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: like Willy one Scheff, never read a fiction book, another
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: one from EMK Burt. My husband loves Terminal Determinalist series.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: He's listened to all the books on Spotify and like you,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: it's his first fiction book he's ever read. Read it
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: sounds like each book gets better and better. So they
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: have audio as well. Just shout out terminalists.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Have you ever done an audiobook before?
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I've done the David Goggins one, can't hurt me. Yeah,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: I've done another one. It's like it's from I can't
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: think of his name. I was just gonna say I
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: really enjoy audio books. I had done.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: My first job in Texas was filling out like purchase orders.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: It was the type where you could just have headphones
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: in the entire time.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: And I did.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Revisited the Harry Potter series and then did it Stephen
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: King's it on.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Oh you did it? Did it? It was really good,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: really good.
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: Random shout out green Lights matthe McConaughey's self. It's his
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: own autobiography. Oh yeah, narrated by him in the audiobook.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: Highly recommend. I bet that's from who listen mathemcconaughey. The
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: green Light Yeah, yeah for that one's really good.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: It is very very good, like the ones I have
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: on right now in my books that I've hit. Principles
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: for Success from Ray Dallyo. I haven't listened to this
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: one yet, but it's in my library. The Art of War.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Let's see here Day Trading Attention by Gary Vaynerchuk. Whenever
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: that dropped your next five moves Master, The Art of
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Business Strategy by Patrick bet David Patrick Bet David's a
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: good one. Leadership Strategy and Tactics by Jocko Willink Good good.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: And then this was a good one. This is a
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: short one that I recommend, excellent advice for living wisdom.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: I wish i'd known earlier. This is by Kevin Kelly.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: That's an audiobook that I have listened to a lot
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: of good like phrases and one liners and just like
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: rules for life and things that kind of think about
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and chew on.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Yeah, those are the audiobooks that we brought up a
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: reading list before. But I feel like that would be
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: fun to to explore and jump into more like a
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: reading list and slash a uh.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Well, you gotta get on before the day. It's a
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: reading list. Yeah. And by the way, I didn't uh
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: my crack of cold one this week is going to
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: go to my wife, Charles. I know I've had a
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: couple tour, but again as a dad who feels guilty
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: when he's not there in the trenches and puke is
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: going everywhere. She she was the one that was getting
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: puked on on Friday night. She was the one dealing
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: with the puke on Saturday. She was the one noticing
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Scottie crying on the on the monitor to get her,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: get her taken care of on Sunday. So my crack
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: a cold one is to my beautiful wife Charle and
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Charles Switetart. If you're listening, I love you, I love you,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: I love the.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Shit out of you, Jill, because you also are my
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: crack of cold one this week. The moving the seats
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: closer to the bathroom because you're excited to change, the
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: dirty diapers on the plane, the bracing, all the suck
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: that we came across this weekend. It was truly, Uh,
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: it was inspiring. And I love you and thank you
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: for just being a rock star. So you love the
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: shit out of her, and I love the shit out
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: of you.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: With amased actually for the dads, Papa Team six, our

- 1:07:32Speaker 2: cocoa mix in our mugs. Uh, this stuff legitimately slaps.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: I was shocked when I saw that they were doing
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: hot cocoa and then tried it and was like, Okay.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I was skeptical of the hot coco because I do
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: love some hot cocoa. I love to get some marshmallows
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: on top of it. Yeah, but you cracked this in
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: with some hot water. Very tasty drink and if you
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: want cold, if you want a cold one, Willie Boys

- 1:09:03Speaker 1: I help you? Oh, that's no problem at all. We

- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Just three something plus years in customer care of some
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: medical sales, you know, sales rep.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: Where the hell is mine? Blah blah blah. This hey,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: this is Sherman. So how are we doing? I'm thinking
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: back on the crackical when we're setting us we're setting
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: ourselves up for a funny, a good laugh when our
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: wives do come on the show, because we talk about
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: the suck that they're embracing. We love that. You love
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: doing that, like you're just wanting to change the diapers,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: like embracing the suck with the puke, and they're just
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: gonna they're gonna have just targets on us, ready to unload.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there's no part of Jill that sees any
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: type of comment that is like positive towards our show
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: or towards myself. That's like, oh, Sherman's such a fraud
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: like that. That's never like come out and cover say sure,
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: anything like that. But I'm sure there are so many
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: moments where she has had to bite her tongue of
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: like I wish you could I wish you could have
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: seen this guy on Sunday was doing just a great
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: job of representing ptsticks And it's all deserved. I mean
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: it's all deserved because we are not perfect. I even
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: laughed when you said at the beginning we're not experts.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: I was like, I wasn't one this weekend. I can
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: promise you that just a couple of dads. We're a
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: couple of dads trying to survive. Dude, speaking of a
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: couple of dads, we have a couple of call ins
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: from a couple of dads.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Now, just to remind everybody, if you want to be
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: featured on the show, just calling the six on one
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: the dad's it is our hotline voicemail where you just
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: you just send us a voicemail. Whatever you're going through.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Maybe it's a high, maybe it's low, maybe you're shouting
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: out something. Whatever it is, you call the six on
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: one of the dads, our boys, Derek and Chef break
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: them down. We just do a couple on each show.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: We send you free merch, Send you free merch. Who
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: is sending free merch to this week?
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: This week we are sending free free merch to Derek
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Whitton's father.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Oh, I wonder how he got picked out of the
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: entire listen Chefs Victim Cheff picked it out, picked it out.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: But we have miss what's it? What's it called? Where
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: you like you're like hiring your family members. Nepotism, nepotism,
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: a little bit of people to a little bit. Who
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: said that? Who's saying that? Yeah, Papa Win and Papa Compton,
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: they're making it on the show. That is true.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: We've had a lot of dads. Yeah, my dad actually
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: wrote something out he wants me in to read later.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I did. But we do have
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Papa Whiton he did try and Alli Poppy and one
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: doesn't give us a full review.
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: Okay, so here it goes, Hi, this is Chip Whitton
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: or sharm likes to say, you know chip o U
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: E one two got to have a number there. Hey,
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: what's the podcast? And I noticed Italians were had a
- 1:12:03Speaker 6: sponsor from Ollipop. Now, normally I'm a Poppy drinker, but
- 1:12:09Speaker 6: we were in the store the other day and I
- 1:12:11Speaker 6: came upon two flavors that seemed really different. So I
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: picked up a can of watermelon lime, which I haven't tried,
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: and ridge rush, which I did try. And here is
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: my explanation of a ridge rush. It is like throwing
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: a handful of Skittles on steroids into your mouth.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: And it was good.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: It was good.
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: It was very good, but it was very different, and
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: I just wanted to give my opinion on one flavor.
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: Thanks guys, you do a great job. Talk to you later,
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: by Bro.
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: When you said spoke to him, I just envisioned eighty
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: dad in the world in then soda isle in low
- 1:13:00Speaker 5: in the glasses and go, what the.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: Hell is that?
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: What it's what my son been talking about? Okay, hold
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: on here, this is that Allipop stuff. What's the ridge?
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: What the rich that's different and just selecting it. Yeah,
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: I'll try what a legend? So so Chip did enjoy it.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: It's just different. Yeah, it seems like if I could
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: break that down, Samanna has a mature palette. Yeah, and
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: it's uh, skittles on steroids. Doesn't seem like the most
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: enjoyable for my personal self.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I'm assuming he was. That's kind of his take on
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: it too. Kids, they'd all love it. You're in your twenties,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: early thirties, you might like this. Yeah, it seems like
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: maybe a little too much sugar for Papa Chip. Yeah,
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: little too much of a sugar feeling, by the way,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: Ali Pop listen. I know they sponsored the show, but
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: it's two to five grams of sugar per serving. But
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: maybe it's just a flavor like this is. We're not
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: gonna say the brain he's called on insane other brains, Derek,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: what are we doing, Baba White? And what are we doing?
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: He picked two flavors too that we have never tried
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: and or discussed.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: You've never heard of those flavors. That's were different. They
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: were different.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: And I spoke to him, I said, well, what about
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: the other flavors that we do talk about in love.
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: He's like, I'll get to those, but those were his flavors.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: And I don't know why he picked the flavor ridge rush,
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: but I'm excited to go home for Thanksgiving and raid
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: the fridge.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: And try it to get the ridge rushed.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: Two things very quickly by I could just envision showing
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: my dad Mobamba or what's that other song that Nebraska
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Prilla Scrilla, and him just saying, hey, that's different.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: You know what that was? What the kids is to do?
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Oh that's a little different, Okay we did?
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Was he shopping on his own? Ild shop on his
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: own so he can, but they do it together very
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: much so. But there's also times where, like my dad's
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: favorite time in the world was when him and my
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: mom would go to Trader Joe's during COVID Because during COVID,
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: Trader Joe's only let like ten people in the store,
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: so the line went around, so my mom waited in
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: the car, my dad went stood in line, annoyed everyone
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: around him to become friends with him, and then walked
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: around the store with these people to shop.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: And it was like he made new friends every fucking weekend.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: It's he's that type of guy who makes like I
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: make friends with a brick wall because I learned from him.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: So he loves shopping because there's so many people who
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: are strangers that he just hasn't met yet.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: That is all time man. That's a that's a dad. Yeah,
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: that's it. That's a good while man. He can't go
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: shopping on his own. He'd get lost in the store.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: And I'm not shitting you. This is a man who's
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: got lost in our own hometown because he took a
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: wrong turn and went to like a hotel parking lot.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: And he's the duke. He's the Duke of BT. He's out,
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: I get out of here. Yeah, we been you and
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: he's a lifer.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: He grew up in that county. Oh really, yes, well
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: went county? Is it Saint Francis County? Shout out the
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: SEPC Saint Francis, But low's Bonterra mix up North County
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: or high school our school system, and he grew up there.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: And yeah, I'm not shopting you. There's another time where
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: we ate at Applebee's and he walked out the wrong
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: door and they had no clue where the car was.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: He walked out like the to go side door, Yeah,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: to go side door. He went to the bathroom, went
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: out to go the go side door. And we're sitting
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: in the car just laughing at my old man because
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: he he pulls out his phone next to you know,
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: he's calling my mom old Town. Hold the phone. They
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: just switched up everything. Yeah, when the where'd the highway go?
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Where's it?
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: Did you check the other side of the the Applebee's honey? No,
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: well maybe you know, walk around over the don't I
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: got it?
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: I got it. No GPS system in my old man's head. Bro.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Sometimes I'm a victim of it as well. And I'm like, oh,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: this where the old man's kicking in here? Yeah? Yeah, yeah?
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: What's it called? The pharmacy? The burger spot here in Nashville.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: I took my parents there, like what like my first
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: year when I was on the Titans. Parents came to
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: visit and we went and ate at the pharmacy and
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: walked out and my dad was taking a while. He
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: always it's a bathroom. It's always the bathroom. He goes
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: to the bathroom, no matter what. At the end, we'll
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: go out and get in the car. You're like, pack
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: a dip in. Come on, you're kind of staying. I'm like,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: all right, Dad, we're all ready to go. He's like,
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: hang on a second, got to go to the bathroom,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: goes back in the house, you know what I mean,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: just always takes his time. Do let me go to
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: the bathroom. And we were at the pharmacy and we
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: got done. My mom and I walk out. We start walking.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: We're in a conversation. We're kind of walking away from
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: the pharmacy. My dad's in the bathroom. We get up
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: to the top of the hill. If you come out
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: of pharmacy, take it right, and you're walking up the
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: hill over there in East Nashville, and we started laughing, like, oh,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: we got away for dad. And we're like, let's just
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: stand up here and see what happens when he comes
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: out the door. He walks out the door and he's
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: all walking around and he's like, well, pulls out his phone.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Where'd you guys go. We're just like, look right, oh,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: I got you all right, yeah, I see it.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: I actually did get this from my mom earlier today.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: This was a twelve thirty today.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: I'll tell you what for. The Dad's changing the alley
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: pop game right now. He really flavors to look. I'm
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: dialed in on the couple Classic Grape, Classic Grape and
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Chris Apple. Those will change your life. I am excited
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: to expand my range as im. I'm dive in some
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: of these other flavors that people kind of shut out
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: and mentioned cream soda. So I want to get my
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: hands on that one.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: Next caller, next caller, speaking of sweet treats, we got
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: one that went wrong, went a little sideways.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: Okay, will shim, how we doing boys?
- 1:18:32Speaker 6: Ship boy?
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: Will call Shim.
- 1:18:35Speaker 7: I got to call in and tell myself h coach
- 1:18:38Speaker 7: who is now seventeen weeks.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: In Australia for ship.
- 1:18:44Speaker 7: Of course, you know you can't have the strawberries without sugar.
- 1:18:48Speaker 7: We were out of the right kind of sugar apparently,
- 1:18:51Speaker 7: and I put on the wrong kind of sugar. So
- 1:18:53Speaker 7: now I am headed back from the grocery store with
- 1:18:56Speaker 7: the right kind of sugar to go ahead and hopefully
- 1:18:58Speaker 7: right my wrong. We're in it, like Neil to help
- 1:19:02Speaker 7: me and get I appreciate you'all for keeping up the support.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: I'll take care. God bless him, God bless him. Congratulations
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: on the outcoming kiddo. Congratulates on the outcoming kiddo. His
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: mine's everywhere. Well, let's just say he knows your name.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: Sure it ain't shim. He's got seventeen week prego wife
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: at home right now. Hey, look the wives are they're
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: just in a different headspace. They're in a different headspace
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: when they're pregnant. They can't control the hormones that enter
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: their body. They can't help. They don't want to lash
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: out at you. Yes, you just happen to be the
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: guy who's happened to be the person right in front
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: of him when you don't put on the right sugar,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: and you got to have the specific sugar.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: This call brought up to PTSD moments for me when
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: Jill was pregnant.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: One.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: I never struggled with calling you Taylor, calling Taylor will ever,
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: except when Jill. Late in Jill's pregnancy, I started realizing it.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: I was like, oh my gosh, my brain's all over
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: the place.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: So there's that. Yeah, so Shim checked off the list,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Jim Jim.
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: Secondly, Jill asked me she was like eight months pregnant,
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: she needed Krispy Cream and my errands. I was running
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: for her. It ran long because the pet smart was closed,
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: whatever it was. So I'm thinking I'm coming home to
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: now an asleep Jill. And for the Peetsikos out there,
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: made the huge mistake of saying, oh, my wife's asleep,
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: I'll skip the Krispy Cream because she's asleep. There's no
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: way she's awake. I come in, she is asleep. She
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: hears me wrestling. I wake her up, and she goes.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: Krispy Kreme and I go, oh, I go, oh, honey,
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I thought you were going to be asleep, and she
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: literally mm hmmmmmm.
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: Go go.
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: I had to go to the Christy Cream, came back
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: to a sleeping wipe again, woke her up, gave her
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: her warm Krispy cream, and she was so happy.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Is the happiest wifey of all time. No, no, sweet daddy,
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: ain't going back outside. No, no, you get out of here.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: Listen go Yeah, you need to stop right now. I
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: got a pillow on my hands. It's gonna go over
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: your face, you know, stuff telling me what to do. Hey,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: But honestly, honestly, to add on to that, it's always
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: like number one, you gotta Ben in the needs of
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: the wife. Yeah, yeah, Ben, don't break Yeah, Ben, don't break. Yeah, Ben,
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: don't break.
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: You gotta stay locked in and you're in the trenches.
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: You're gonna stay in the trenches. That's just the way
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: it is. You gotta learn. This is the good mentality.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: This is embracing the suck. But also the upside is
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: you do like I always enjoy. Did Charo tell you?
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: I'll even almost ask, hey, do you need me to
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: go get X, Y and Z, because it's like you
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: get you get out of the house, you get a
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: little piece and quiet, take a little trip five ten minutes,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: who knows, maybe twenty thirty if you're lucky. Yeah, and uh,
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: you enjoy some You enjoy some new time. Get the
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: frustrations off your chest. Love that he called in us
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: the dad hotline. Use the four the Dad's hotline. He
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: was feeling something, let's get off your chest. But yeah,
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: spend it the next time. It's Hey, I can go
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: down the road right now and gain We might be
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: missing a greedy and I'm the first one hand up.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: You want me to run down the road right now,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: I go, I go get some more rags, easy, be
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: back in twelve minutes. I'm big on that.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Whenever it's like last second preparation stuff. Jill's getting Scarlet
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: ready for something. Yeah, but we're also missing bacon. We
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: gotta get some bacon. Oh well, when you get you know,
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: you're getting Scarlet ready, I'll go, you know, I'll snack
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: the bacon.
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: No, we're doing that together. Get out of getting gid ready.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Go get you a little quick trip in. Gotta get
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: the quick trip in we were doing. I was trying
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: to sneak one in over the weekend. Our fireplace remote
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: isn't working. Batteries are dead, so we need some triple
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: A batteries. M Sunday morning. I tried, you know, pulling it. Hey,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: I can just go down the road and get some
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: triple A batteries. You don't need to do that right now.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: All right then, I'm like, damn, I've felt that bad.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: I've felt that bad. I liked it a little, a
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: little trippy. We got some emails as well. If we
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: want to dive into emails.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Do you have emails? I do have some emails. I
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: can go first the emails. The emails I have. Christian Ward.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: He says, what's up, fella. My name is Christian Ward.
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: I am twenty two and from Archie, Missouri, and I
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: am emailing from somewhere in the middle of the ocean.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: I recently joined PT six as of October twentieth, welcoming
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: my son Gordon into the world.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Congratulations.
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: I've been a Tier one Bustle with the Boys Listener
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: for five years now and for the Dad's Listener from
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: the start. I'm just writing to share my story and
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: how you guys in PT six has helped me through
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: some rough times. My situation is a little special, but
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: listening to you guys has helped me out a lot.
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: Me and my wife found out we were going to
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: be parents in March. We were so overjoyed, but we
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: knew our journey would be a rough one because I
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: am currently serving in the US Navy. Thank you for
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: your service, and I left for deployment in June. Baby's
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: doing March. He left in June.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: I was lucky enough to be able to come home for.
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: The birth, earning my couch badge, shout out, and the
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: first month of my son's life, to support my wife
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: and be there with my son. Knowing I was going
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: to have to leave soon to go back out on deployment,
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: leaving my month old son and wife was probably the
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: hardest thing I've ever done before. The Dad's Podcast has
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: been helping me through missing these first few months, just
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: by hearing Will and Sherman and all other PT sixers
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: they call in with stories of fatherhood. I still have
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: three to four months out here away from my wife
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: and child, but with PT six and the four the
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: Dad's Podcast every Wednesday, I get to listen to y'all
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: stories and picture how sweet it is going to how
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: sweet it is going to be when I am reunited
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: with my wife and son, thinking three to four months
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: away from home.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Good.
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: You guys truly are the best podcasts out there, and
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: I recommend y'all to all the dads I talk to
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: while I'm out here experiencing the same thing as me.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: You guys inspire me to be great fathers like yourselves
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: and keep kicking ass. That comes from Christian Ward Christian,
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: thank you for your service.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Christian, Thank you man. It's got the eyes a little
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: glossed over, because yeah, I can. I can only imagine
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: how hard it was to kind of like leave the
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: fam and just you know, you're you're more so like
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: I've never been in the position that he's in and
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: shout out to you, thank you for your service. I'm
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: assuming you're you get some face times or some call ins.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: I don't know how often you get to talk to
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: the wife to hear about the kid getting photos. I'm
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: sure he's like a kid in a candy store, like
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: when he gets pictures of a little baby girl. I
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: know I'm that way. Anytime I'm on the road and
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: a video where photos come in about him, I'm just
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: over there. You're just grinning and smiling. You're wanting to
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: be back home and just be around him. But I
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: hope he's Uh what a what a time to encourage
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: some some writing or some thoughts like while you are away,
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: so one day, like when your little one gets older,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: you're able to share with him, like how hard it
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: was being being deployed and and uh doing your best.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: This is how dad, Dad was trying to communicate, communicate
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: to you, like while I was going like with mama
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: and everything else. Yeah, that would be. Hearts shrinks a
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: little bit, it does.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: The only thing I thought when I first read it,
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: Derek Hauld give me these emails before to kind of
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: go through was just the kind of not the sour
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: grape attitude that I was having over the weekend, but
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: just kind of like the general like last month's been
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: like really difficult, but reading situations like that of like, man,
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: this guy is serving for our country and is even
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: with his wife and kid, and he's still there sitting
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: there saying good and like writing in and counting down
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: the days. And I'm like, man, who am I to
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: like sit here and think that my situation may be
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: difficult or I don't know it. It was a really
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: good reminder to like stay the course.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: Yes, the way that happens too.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: And this is not like a dunker that dude would
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: kill for five hours on a tarmac with his wife.
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: Oh and it's not any or anything. No, when you
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: think of those types of it's really crazy. I mean
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: I need to too. But this dude like just saying
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: that our POD's helping him with his situation. Yeah, crazy,
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: but yeah, I'm with you on that.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: No, I truly that was a who am I moment
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: of like, man, I need to kind of my blessings
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: way more way more.
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: But yeah, you have an email as well?
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: I do. I do.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: This is from Jeremy Schaeffer. What's up? Boys? This is Jeremy.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: I'm a fireman in the Metro Atlanta area. Currently it's
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: eight am, coming off shift and trying to hal ass
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: home to make our twelve week ultrasound appointments to find
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: out the gender. Early this morning, me and the crew
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: had three separate wood fires after midnight, making it five
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: woods fires for the shift. Been up since three am.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: Had to stay on the scene past the shift, or
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: had to stay on the scene past shift change. Nothing's
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: going smooth. Trying to get things wrapped up and cleaned
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: up so I can leave work. I love the chaos
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: at work, but all the fire guys know the chaos
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: and the level of anger in the level of anger
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: running calls after midnight, trying to bust my ass to
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: make this nine thirty appointment. All I can think is good,
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: which reminded me of the new episode that's up. Turned
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: it on on the way home. Already, change the mood
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: for your boy, Embrace the suck fellas. Love what y'all
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: are doing and makes me excited and feel prepared for
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: our little one coming in June. Keep up the good work.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Shout out you, Jeremy. Being on the front lines and hustling,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: straining to make the appointment because you know how important
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: it is with wife, you two like you guys both
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: going through it together. You making it a priority whether
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: or not you sit there and think about Man, I
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: hope she's kind of thinking about my situation, or I
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: hope she understands how much I'm busting my balls to
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: be here. Shout out you for being able to shift
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: that perspective. I know it's an absolute grind. It's going
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: to constantly be a grind, but thank you for writing in.
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Thank you for writing in, taking time getting that off
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: your chest. Shout out for all you do being on
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: the front lines with the fire department. Yeah, talk about
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: another profession.
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean very very humbling in like a good
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: way of just getting to hear other people's I'll talk
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: about in my lesson of the week. But just very
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: thankful for the show, Very thankful that we have men
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: like that writing into our show. That's really cool.
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: Thankful, Yeah, thankful for the show, the community writing in
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: and knowing what he's going through, but feeling like he's
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: pulling stuff from our episode. That's a crazy Yeah, to
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: shift his perspective. It's a constant reminder that whatever story
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: you have going on shifting perspective. There's always going to
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: be a story that makes you feel a certain way,
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: like the five hours on the tarmac or whatever it is,
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: it's going to make you feel a certain way that
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: I need to constantly grab a holes and lean into
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: gratitude all the time because there's so many worse situations
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: going on than what we're all going through. Yes, and
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: that's everybody too, Like fireman, will hear something a different story,
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: like why am I bitching about staying past my shift?
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: I've been up since three am when I just heard
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: this story. My man over there even across seas like
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: shout out service and everything else. I'm sure he's heard
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: a story in his platoon, whatever it is that makes
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: him feel so appreciative and give him a perspective of
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: the work he's doing and how he's getting to do
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: x Y and Z or man. I got to go
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: home for a month, and this dude he's been working
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: through he hasn't gotten to go home in years. I
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: don't know. But there's always a story that kind of
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: helps us with our own perspective and whatever story we
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: think we're living, and then you hear somebody else it's like, man,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: I need to count my blessings a lot more, especially
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: you know today, like people traveling home, you're going home
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: for Thanksgiving, maybe you're thinking about that extended family member
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: or that family member that you haven't had the best
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: relationship with. We were hearing about it with Mitch on
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: the bus. He was like, I just he hopes to
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: have a better relationship with his brother. And people are
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: kind of going through whatever conversation could come about this
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: weekend at the dinner table and hoping that they can
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: mind it or get closer. Maybe you feel ten toes
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: down or digging your heels in about something you feel
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: towards somebody else. What a moment to kind of think
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: about why am I so bothered by everything like getting
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: to spend time with family, getting to spend time with friends.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Maybe I need to shift just a little bit to
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: see if I can bridge whatever gap.
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: It is.
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: Thanksgiving is always a great reminder to kind of reflect
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: on the year and reflect on all the things that
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: you are thankful for.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been hitting at the perfect moment for me,
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: to be completely honest, it's it's been I'm very excited
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: for Thanksgiving and just the idea around it.
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and the time off yeah, and the time you
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: got a time a couple of weeks. People getting to listen,
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: like whether they're traveling or whatever the case may be,
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: and just knowing like you've been grinding this year. You
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: have like this four day weekend, or you get to
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: watch some ball, you get to eat some food, spend
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: time with family and friends. Maybe take a little nap. Ye,
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: stay up a little later, watch that movie, watch that
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: TV show, have a couple of drinks. I have a
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: couple of drinks. Go watch the balls beat the shit
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: out Andy. Go watch the walls beat the shit out
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: of and Andy Nago, Bobby. Let's see if you can
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: walk into kneeling and dig down the voladius talking real
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: loud on the bus. See you talk like that at Knoxville.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: I am very excited for that game though. That'll be
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: a fun I'm glad. I'm going. Yes, that'll be a
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: fun game.
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: I got one more email, h and do you have
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: one more? I do not, Okay, I can do this
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: last one and then we can go into Lesson of
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: the Week.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Got less of the Week before Lesson of the Week.
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: Though we did the pole last week on Best Way PT.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: Six best way to cook a turkey pole yice, So
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: hit the email, we'll do some turkey talk, we'll do something.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: We'll end it with a lesson.
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: This one is anonymous. Hey Sherman Will, I'm a girl
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: in my mid twenties and definitely not your typical demographic,
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: but I wanted to reach out and let both of
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: you know just how far your influence reaches. I found
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: for the Dads about a month ago and quickly binged
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: every episode. To say that you guys made a difference
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: in my life is an understatement. I know it sounds cheesy,
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: but y'all help me regain confidence that there are great
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: men out there who want to be present, intentional dads
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: and partners. I've dealt with abuse and past relationships, and
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: have come from a background where masculinity and fatherhood were
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: approached dot dot dot differently, but hearing you two be
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: so intentional, honest, and vulnerable has blown me away. Y'all
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: hold a gentleness and strength together. Y'all hold gentleness and
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: strength together instead of treating them like opposites. You show
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: that real masculinity includes presence, care, and the willingness to grow.
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: That husbands and dads can be soft and loving and
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: still be the man of the house. You're showing everyone,
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: every young woman what good men look like. I also
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: just listen to the most recent episode of Busting with
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: the Boys with Robert Gallery and it was another fantastic conversation.
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: Just like every Busting episode and every four of the
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: Dad's episode, y'all are helping everyone who watches by highlighting
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: real problems, real stories, and real emotions from a place
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: of non judgment. And on top of everything, you always
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: bring it back down to earth with humor, humility, honesty,
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: and empathy. Just need to say that all of y'all
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: at Bustin are changing.
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: The world, so truly. Thank you.
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: You've made more of a difference than you probably realize.
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: Keep it up, y'all, we appreciate what you're doing. That
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: comes from anonymous that I wanted to make sure that
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: we read that one specifically for the bottom line of
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: just like for everyone at Bustin, because I know that
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: this part of the year, this like football season, the grind,
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: it really can it can weigh on you, and I
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: know for listeners at home that feel the same way.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: But yeah, I just think that we've brought together a
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: community of really intentional people that are also really fun
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: and have a good sense of humor, that want to
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: be incredible parents. And I think that's really freaking cool
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: and just a good reminder of like just what we
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: have an opportunity to do every week. It's really sick.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: There's one of the kindest writings I think I've gotten
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: here being read. You say like very intentional, very fun,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: have humor, but also like very flawed. Like there are
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: a lot of times where I'll be driving home wandering
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: in my head. Man, do I share too much? Do
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: I say too much here?
- 1:35:39Speaker 5: Do I have?
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: Do I take this too lightly? Do I feel like
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: I whatever point I was trying to make? Did I
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: bring it home? Did I say it in the right way?
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: Like you have all these questions because we're all very imperfect,
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: and I have all these imperfections to where the hearing
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: that is awesome. Again, it gives a perspective and gratitude.
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: And dude, if it's changing a few people, you feel
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: like you're doing You're doing what you want to do,
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: especially with a brand like this, a show like this,
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: a show like busting Yeah, but speaking for just speaking
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: on the for the Dad's front, like, that's all we
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: want to do is just know that like it. It's
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: sucky a lot of times, it's great a lot of times,
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: there's a lot of fun like things like you take
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: it serious, you take it lightly, you communicate, you don't communicate, Like,
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: let's talk about these flaws, let's talk about where I
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: fell short. Let's try and feel comfortable doing it. See
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: if there's a lesson I got from it, or something
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: that my wife taught me or somebody else taught me,
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: and just share everything that I feel like I'm trying
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: to do in this journey of fatherhood because you grow
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: up in situations, uh and I'm not saying mine was
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: bad by any means, but you feel like as you're
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: growing up, there's certain ways to do everything, and then
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: you get open up and your mind gets expanded to
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: challenging certain thoughts here with myself, or challenging certain thoughts there.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: If I want to be mass I kind of like
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: this idea right here. It feels a little soft in
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: my head because I grew up in my own opinion
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: pridefully like a certain way, and I carry myself a
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: certain way. But it seems like a little softer's or
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: something that connects the dots in my head to where
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: it's like, Okay, I'm actually on board with this idea.
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: I see why, I see the explanation from it versus
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: just like being narrow minded and thinking, no, I'm gonna
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: do it this way. I don't care what so and
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: so says. So that was really cool to listen to.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Thank you to the anonymous person who wrote that in Yes,
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: thank you very much.
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: I've been told that I say this too much on
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: the show, but it is really cool to read stuff
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: like that. I feel very undeserving of reading stuff like that,
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: and I think that there are a lot of dads
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: out there that maybe feel the same way whenever they're
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: you know, getting there, you know whatever. You're a great
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: dad and you do a great job, and maybe they
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: feel undeserving of it.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: But just you are a great dad. There are great
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: dads out there, and you're doing a great job. So
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: I don't know. I was just trying to land the
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: land the plane. I got a little lost, But you're
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: a good day. I appreciate that. I walked to the
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: wrong side of the wrong side. Where's the car? I said?
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: I thought we were on the pharmacy side.
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: This has grocery you know, honey, we did park in
- 1:38:20Speaker 2: front of the grocery side.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: Well then we're a good dad that too, man. But yeah,
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: I'm thankful for you, Derek. I'm thankful for you, Chef.
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: I'm thankful for you. Like happy Thanksgiving. We're going to
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: get into the lesson. But Coppy, Thanksgov. Yeah, thanks, give
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: me some turkey.
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: Gravy you call it dressing or stuff and what hey,
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: what are the PT sixers talking about?
- 1:38:45Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's right, bet six best way to cook
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: a turkey? The YouTube post, we put a pole up.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: One hundred and forty five thousand people participated in this post. Really,
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: one hundred and forty deep relaxed, relax shim. Come on,
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: that's that's a long running bit that I just fell
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: for it.
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: We average about eight thousand views, ten thousand on a
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: good week. One hundred and forty five are you? I
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: was still on the other side of the apple. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: you're a great dad. You know what, though, you're a
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: great I don't know if you're beating yourself up right now,
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: but you are a good father. Oh man. But the
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: poll was deep fried, baked, or smoked or other you
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: can leave a comment on our latest episode to let
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: us know. The pole results are in one hundred and
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: forty five thousand, thousand smoked. Yeah, smoked, So the Smoke
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: Boys win thirty two Deep Fried.
- 1:40:01Speaker 4: Baked Whole Chef Chef Bunching Air tells me enough that
- 1:40:06Speaker 4: people don't not have and for all all of y'all
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: who do not believe in the traditional way, the way
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: that our founding fathers saw when they said, make turkey
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: on Thanksgiving. Mine's going into a Salt Brandon night and
- 1:40:22Speaker 4: I'm gonna show you guys what a good turkey looks like.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and maybe I'll convert a few. There. You go,
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: So you believe you you you want to stick to
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: your guns. You want to believe in staying narrow minded
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: about our forefathers in tradition. You believe in slavery, just
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: make it insanely odd. But we gotta be a conversation
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: at at Thanksgiving dinner, Tiera, you talk about founding fathers slavery,
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: What do you said with that?
- 1:40:51Speaker 5: The entire family that was saying there watching us on
- 1:40:54Speaker 5: Thanksgiving Day, they all.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: Just whoa man wants to take? You just want to
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: bake a turkey. It was this guy. But you want
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: to keep mom in the kitchen the whole time, roles do.
- 1:41:07Speaker 4: We're a male cook is a male cooking household, we
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: we break the norm. I'm so your mom made good enough.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: I really don't.
- 1:41:22Speaker 4: I will be making a video on how to cook
- 1:41:24Speaker 4: a turkey the right way. And here's what I'll say.
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: I've done deep fried, deefried, solid, I've done smoked. Really
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: didn't like the smoke, but I blame the old man's
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: casion seasoning on that.
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 1:41:35Speaker 4: And also the Wednesday, the Wednesday night's seen all your
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: friends from college? Bad combo true true. Also, uh, just
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: a quick tip out there. I'm sure you probably have
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: more on the smoking. Oh there was a comment right here,
- 1:41:50Speaker 4: a post on the best way to cook turkey. This
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: comment comes in from Taylor Southern seven nine to two
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: Taylor Southern, Taylor Souther.
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: I'm sorry, sweetheart, you see I don't know these letters
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: had a deep fry for the first time last year.
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: And Budy, I do not eat turkey, famously hate it,
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: but fried is another beast. I can't get enough. And
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: comments go on, you got pessimistic, Yes, sir, I'm sure
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: others are great, but we have been smoking them every
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: year since we got the smoker and have no plans
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: of going back. Got to Brian at dry or wet
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: too before smoking. Listen from Paul and don't forget just
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: dispatch dispatch cock. It dispatch cock. It don't forget dispatch cock.
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: It cuts. That's smoking time in half. It does. Big
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: Dinos injecting a butter marinate is awesome too. Blake City
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: Turkey Roll Chris Chris on the grill, e K, I
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: don't like turkey. Strong opinions. We couldn't find one six community,
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: not one talking about bake Chef. I want a.
- 1:43:10Speaker 5: Clip of just out of context, will reading comments because
- 1:43:16Speaker 5: that I don't like turkey came out of you're just
- 1:43:22Speaker 5: reading I like turkey, all right, it's great. Oh god,
- 1:43:29Speaker 5: that was funny. It's a good turkey talk.
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: I do have a follow up. Speaking of Choro, I'm
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: just gonna go into this one. Very brave.
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: This comes from yoso Erka Peach. He's from Croatia. Hey,
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: Willie one Chef and Fat Stafford. This is Coroatian style.
- 1:43:48Speaker 2: Multiple years of picks. The one year, four turkeys, one
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: goose and one duck. It gives the crispy skin and
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: smoke taste while roasting. And our friend Yoso or Joe
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: So provided some pictures, so I'm sure we'll put on
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: the screen as well. But it looks like he's just
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: got charcoal like a charcoal bed or maybe even uh
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: some wood logs and they're just doing a slow roast.
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: The man right there, chef a goose, impressive and four turkeys.
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: He I bet he dig a hole in roasted turkey.
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: I dig a hole in roast turkey. They do it
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: incing style. Why we get a video you and Delaney?
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: You had on Delaney's farm.
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: I did call Delaney. Delaney had stuff to do, okay,
- 1:44:36Speaker 4: so he called you back.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he did. Love that he did. He caught me.
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: I felt I felt really bad because he was on
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: set for something and I was like, hey, man, you
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: might if I go to your farm a hole and
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: roasted turkey as boys are challenging me at for the
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: dads right now. Oh my gosh.
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: Yes, but that uh, that was our turkey talk. I also,
- 1:44:56Speaker 2: what's on your plate was a question that was thrown around.
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: H I can do really breathe what's on my plate?
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: It kind of can't go wrong in a lot of
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: ways of Thanksgiving. Like turkey, ham doesn't matter. Throw both
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: on the plate. Yeah, stuffing corn, some type of corn dish.
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: You got the mashed potatoes, you got the gravy. You're
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: mixing it all together. That you just to me, in
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: my opinion, you got some great dinner rolls. My wife
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: makes incredible, fat, full filled with love dinner rolls. Bro
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: Is she doing the yeast and all that? Yeah? Yeah, okay,
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: she knocks it down, Okay, and that's that's a Thanksgiving dish.
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: I kind of hate when people are like all Thanksgiving
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: and food and stuff overrated, blah blah blah. One time,
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: I love it, man, I love it. I like the
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: feeling of waking up kind of starving yourself a little
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: bit salivating. When's it gonna be it? I smell the turkey,
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: I smell this and that and God, mixing it all together,
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: getting some rolls and scooping it up in there, maybe
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: some cranberry sauce. I've reached came around a cranberry sau
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: It's not that I didn't like I just never really
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: tried it. When you get it, when you get a
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: good one, it's it's a game changer for sure, Desert.
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: I love some dessert. I love some pecan pie.
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: If it's chocolate chip pecan pie with vanilla ice cream,
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: that's that's game over. Bro.
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: Charle made this over the weekend we did a Thanksgiving
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: at her parents because her parents are going back in
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: the Northeast for Thanksgiving, so we did a little Thanksgiving
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: on Sunday over at Lowland Opu's house, and Charle made
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: this pie where it was like pecan brown sugar cookie
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: pie where it had like chocolate chips in it.
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: Dude, Oh yeah, I mean you get a scoop of
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: vanilla ice cream with that. Yeah, Like whatever you believe
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: in Jesus coming back the end of the world.
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: Like you can take me. Yeah, I'm good. Yeah, I'm good.
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: You've seen the light. Yeah.
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: Pcm pi to me is number one. Pecom pie to
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: me is a good peach cobb I'm very dictato pie.
- 1:47:02Speaker 4: Yeah, chocolate, it's a chocolate or pumpkin pie. I do
- 1:47:06Speaker 4: like chocolate. I like chocolate.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: I'll eat pumpkin pie with some whippream just to be
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: in the theme of Thanksgiving. But if I got all
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: those pist sitting there. I'm going to the pecan first. Yeah,
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: com pecan, pecan, whatever you call it.
- 1:47:20Speaker 5: I do have some.
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: These are some non traditional things that my mom likes
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: to cook on Thanksgiving in addition to all your traditional stuff.
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: So if any of these strike anybody's fancy, you can
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: throw it into the rotation. These are easy things to
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: throw in beef tenderline. It's a little pricey, but when
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: done right, it pairs very well with the turkey, I think,
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: and all the other additional like traditional sides, the fixings,
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: the fixings, Jalipino cheese grits. So freaking good, that sounds great. There,
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: Oh my god, when you have like your traditional stuffing
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: mashed potatoes and gravy with the jalapeno cheese grits, dude,
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: holy shit, my mouth is watering. She also does sweet potatoes, yams,
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: and carrots, slices, all those, puts them in a little
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: baking tray. You just slap some olive oil and salt
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: and pepper, and your due stick that in the oven.
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: So good, dude. Some marshmallows on top.
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: Oh, if you're a big marshmallow guy, that would pair
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: very well with that. That would pair very well.
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: Keep talking to me.
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: Something she does that is so random, but I've loved
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: it every year is she just gets this thick cut
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: bacon and just does some oven baked bacon and just
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: has it sitting there on a plate next to everything else.
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: And I don't know why, but the bacon's always the
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: first one to go. It's always the first oneacans just
- 1:48:48Speaker 2: so easy to grab and get something in while you're
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: in line, you know what I mean. Baking comes out,
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: you grab it, you eat it. It feels like it's
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: you know, this doesn't count. You would never It's almost
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: like she knows that I'm going to use it as
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: a utensil each year for my jalapeno cheese grits. I'm
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: using the bacon too, oh dude. And then she makes
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: a great salad. It's just a arugula, tomatoes, avocado, a
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: little bit of pesto, tiny bit of pesto, a little
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: bit of parme sean, and a nice little lemon.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: Vin a gret duding, give me some deviled eggs. Deviled eggs.
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: I feel like you love him or hate him. I
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: love deviled eggs. Bro done well, game changer. When you
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: you can tell he's from Texas. You know why, because
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: he even loves the comment. If done well, it's always
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: bigger in Texas, always better. Hey, I've done right.
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: Oh well, I'm not saying like Texas has a way
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: of doing devil decks bravado.
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: If done right, well, it's like I actually agree with him.
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: If if they're done wrong, it's not. It's as good
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: that way. If you don't have a little.
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: It's gotta have a little paprika, maybe some chives, maybe
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: some bacon bits in there.
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: You know, I think it's phenomenal, But you get you
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: my like I'm palid. I'm kind of like a little kid.
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: I love some good cuisines. But you give me any
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: version of deviled eggs and I'm probably gonna love it
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: or I'm gonna be excited to see it. Anyway. You
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: come across a great one. Absolutely, I'm with you. Yeah,
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: But when you say you've done right, you're almost like
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: drawn the line. If not done right, you know, I
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: I'm above that.
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: I'm above that if I bite into it and I, uh,
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: what's what's the type of gas that's trapped in an egg?
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: It's it's also in water like water, hydrogen.
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: It's not hydrogen.
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: It's you'll like, turn on your shower and sometimes it
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: smells like eggs, but.
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: You gotta get it. You gotta get the water looked
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: at man, farts, not carbon monoxide. Sulfur.
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: When you get a when you get thank you, Derek,
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: when you get a deviled egg that has that like
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: sulfur smell and that sulfur taste to it, it's just
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: kind of like, oh man, that's all I was reference to.
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: Yeah, put you guys onto what I'm most excited about.
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: It's not even Thanksgiving Friday. I'm going with one of
- 1:51:14Speaker 3: my best friends to a place called Mad Mex. They
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: do a gobble rito. It is a Thanksgiving dinner in
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: a burrito smothered with gravy. What everything on the plate
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: wrapped up in this huge burrito with gravy. They only
- 1:51:27Speaker 3: do it at Thanksgiving and then six months out from Thanksgiving.
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: It's the greatest thing. And that's here in Nashville. That
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Shrem I'm sorry, bring a couple bag.
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: It won't be as good, probably, go Lee. That doesn't
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: sound good man, unreal because again it's like you talk
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: about all the og stuff on a plate. Everything else.
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: You don't know what everybody does. But it's like those
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: family members who bring in those dishes, the little gritz
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: cast role, whatever you were talking about. You got just
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: some hitters that you're so excited about to see on
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: the dinner table. Dude, God, let's go. Ki can't get
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: get it into the lesson. Oh I did have I know,
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: I had a quick one. We'll end with yours and
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: my wife texting me that we're good. Probably some bullshit, yeah,
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: probably shout out to Oomy. No, he was just sending
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: me some thought bubbles. We let each other and we're thinking, oh,
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: I'm thinking about each other, all right. So this one
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: is just a quick one, easy one I found on
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: Instagram and uh interestingly enough comes after when I was
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: talking about my the the whole Lane Kiff and Saga
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: last week of getting the mill KB present, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so found this one on uh on Instagram.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: This one comes from uh. C. S Lewis said, children
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: are not a distraction from more important work. They are
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: the most important work. In the end, the legacy that
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: matters won't be what you built in the world. It
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: will be who you raised and whether they felt safe,
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: scene and loved in your presence. Just a simple little quote,
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: simple little thought, provoker, provoker starter.
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: I love that thought. I also love that C. S.
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: Lewis was good buddies with one of my favorite writers,
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: J R. R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings guy.
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: We love Sherman love someings. I like Lord of the
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: Rings too. I can't recite it the way you can.
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: You you're you're, you're a sick o.
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: For anybody that's boys with Tolkien is good by me.
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: Oh you know he's good. Let him in, He's good. C.
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: S Lewis, all right, bring him in. I love that quote.
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: Love that quote.
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: I often think about, uh, what you said, of all
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: the little moments that you have to like teach a lesson,
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: instead of getting upset, Uh that guy in the park, Yeah, yeah.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: Think about how you want him to be in the
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: next thirty years, not the next thirty seconds. Yes, And
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: I'm always a banger bro.
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: I'm already training myself because Scarlett cannot talk.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: I cannot talk to.
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: Scarlet that I can, but she doesn't know what I'm saying.
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: And I already find myself in those frustrating moments. I'm
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: trying to coach myself of like, hey, this, these are
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: those types of opportunities.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: You've got to talk it out. Yeah, So I've started
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: doing we got to talk this out. You can't say
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: now you're gonna listen to that right now?
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: She cries every time I take her home from daycare,
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: and so I started doing pep talks before I put
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: her in the car instead of just putting her in.
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: And I take her out of her stroller and I
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: hold her and I give her a pep talk for
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: about three to four minutes, and we are two for
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: two on no tears after the pep talk?
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: Sweetheart, have you ever heard man in the arena? Let
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: me read this to you before you get in the
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: car seat. Do you know who jucko? Will it? Let
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: me put you on game money.
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: I wrote a thankful letter or a thankful note that
- 1:54:51Speaker 2: I was going to read let.
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: Me let you buckle it.
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: Because we went around and we said what we're thankful
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: for on the bus. I had a very lackluster answer.
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: I felt like I just kind of like spouted something off.
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: So I wanted to say what I was thankful for
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: because I have also not been a thankful boy of late.
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: of the show. I truly don't know how I would
- 1:55:21Speaker 2: be going about dad life without a place to discuss
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: things and people to learn and hear from that constantly
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: promote growth of character, of skill, and paternal swagger. I
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: am so thankful for my wife, Jillian Young.
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: I love you so much.
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: And you are the absolute heartbeat of our household. Hearing
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: Scarlett's cues as you wake her up with good morning
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: my love is music to my soul. Thank you for
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: being so understanding and loving and gracious as a partner
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: and a teammate. Thank you for challenging me because we
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: all know I need it. Thank you for always having
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: a spark and fervor to live life as an adventure.
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: To my sweet Scarlet girl, my favorite parts of my
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: day are seeing your smile in the mornings when I
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: wake you up from your crib, and at night hearing
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: your breaths grow long and slow with your head buried
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: into my neck or chest. You are my whole world,
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: life having adventures with you and your mother and watching
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: you grow up into an incredible woman just like your
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: mother and your grandmother's PT six and NT six. Thank
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: you for every post story, call in, write in, or
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: comment that you leave. They are all reminders of how
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: lucky we are to be parents, how lucky we are
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: to have a community that can build one another up,
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: and how lucky I am to be a part of
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: the show. To Deacon Chef, thank you guys for making
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: the show run like a greased up deaf guy. Your
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: hard work dedication to making a fantastic show shines through
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: every week, and it's just yet another reason why I
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: am so excited to sit down and record each episode.
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: PS. Thank you for remembering to hit the record button
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: when I have forgotten.
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: To William Earl Compton the Third aka Willie one Shelf,
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: thank you for taking a shot on me and hiring me.
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: Thank you for the opportunity that you've given me and
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: my family. Thank you for wanting to start this show
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: that both celebrates dads and calls us to a higher standard.
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: But also thank you for letting me be a part
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: of it with you. I am truly blessed. Life might
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: kick our ass, but a wise man once said, calm
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: sees never made a skilled sailor in some days our
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: ass may be grass and wifey has the mower, but
- 1:57:50Speaker 2: we can always use a clean shave. Good Happy Thanksgiving,
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: well said man. And I didn't cry.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: He did. He got close for a second. The scar
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: scar Park got me. But I'm very good. That's very
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: good man. Happy Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving, Bro, Thanksgiving. Thankful for you.
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: Thank you. Sherm's the best.
- 1:58:14Speaker 4: Sherm does a lot people don't probably know, but Sherm,
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: along with coasting, is a producer. Derek, I'm sure we
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: both can agree that Sharm is an integral, integral factor
- 1:58:24Speaker 4: in this show.
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: We wouldn't be able to do our jobs about him.
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: So that was very nice to you. Thank you absolutely well.
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: It goes right back to y'all.
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: That was very sweet of you. Absolutely I loved every word.
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: You did an incredible job. Thank you, sir, and I'm
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: happy to know you. I am happy to know you
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: as well.
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: Nope, I'm happy to be in your life. I'm happier
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: in my life. Our con customer care. This is Sherman.
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: What's that account number? Oh great work man? That was
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: that was that was unble I. It excites me that
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: Scarlett will get to grow up and listen to that
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: one day. Yeah, dude, get to read it's you on paper,
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: but also go back in here, old man. Let's assume
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: in twenty years and she's going back in the archives
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: and gets to listen to that. Yeah, it's really cool,
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: very very thankful for the show.
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: We have said it five million times and just really
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: thankful for all you guys and what a cool opportunity.
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: And some of the emails even that we read today
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: just kind of like pushing that same idea of how
- 1:59:34Speaker 2: lucky we are.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: So Yeah, the community is incredible. The email, all the
- 1:59:37Speaker 1: write ends, all the comments. I have, the one where
- 1:59:41Speaker 1: gentlemen across the pond rue and her her imaginary friend,
- 1:59:47Speaker 1: and I was gonna try like that one like hangs
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: in my in my closet, has something to look at,
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: reflect on and appreciate. One of the many examples of
- 1:59:58Speaker 1: loving this community is d or die pt six Ers.
- 2:00:01Speaker 6: Man.
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: I had a notification because somebody commented on one of
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: our older videos and it was the guy that made
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: the stuffed animal out of his wife's late father's rocking,
- 2:00:14Speaker 2: rocking cheeriot. Yeah, and I was like, man, this show,
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: like what in the world is just like to get
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: to experience not only the conversations with y'all, but the
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: conversations with the audience.
- 2:00:27Speaker 1: It's really really cool. Yeah, just a reminder for everybody too.
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: As we're wrapping up this episode, we will have Black
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: Friday sales, So if you were thinking about fully committed
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: committing to the PT six movement, all this stuff will
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: be on sale at bwtv dot com. We love you,
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: We appreciate you. Happy Thanksgiving. Every Thanksgiving. Every Thanksgiving is
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: not forget to take out the trash. Do not because
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: you know that trash can is gonna be fool. Don't
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: forget to take out the trash. See you guys next week.
