- 0:10Speaker 1: Hi, guys, Welcome to another episode of Diamonds in the
- 0:17Speaker 1: Rough with myself Teddy Mellencamp.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Hey, I'm Erica Jane.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Erica Jane. How's it going?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Well? No, I want to ask you something because I
- 0:27Speaker 2: before it was on tmz Okay, our good friend Kyle
- 0:32Speaker 2: sent me this video of you Jen and Kyle like
- 0:37Speaker 2: with kind of confronting this or this woman that was
- 0:40Speaker 2: mistreating her dogs. That looked that way on the video.
- 0:43Speaker 2: But I just want to say, Kyle's like videoing and
- 0:46Speaker 2: jumping in the back and you are calm. I just
- 0:49Speaker 2: so cool, standing there like unfazed. What was the wildest thing?
- 0:54Speaker 2: And then I'm scrolling on the TikTok at nighttime and
- 0:56Speaker 2: I see that it's on tmz.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Well this is the part that kills me. So I
- 0:59Speaker 1: get a toe from So this is now? So this
- 1:02Speaker 1: what day? Did I see you last week? Wednesday?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah? Because we did the pod and then I saw
- 1:07Speaker 2: you that night.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, so I see you Wednesday night. This whole situation
- 1:11Speaker 1: happens on Thursday. And then Friday morning, I get a
- 1:15Speaker 1: text message from my publicist. Did you and Kyle happened
- 1:19Speaker 1: to get in a brawl on Ventura boulevard.
- 1:22Speaker 2: It looked like it was about to be a ball.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah, this morning. And I said, no, no, we didn't.
- 1:30Speaker 2: No, no, no, you didn't.
- 1:32Speaker 1: No, I mean no, I didn't technically know. And then
- 1:35Speaker 1: she goes weird because maybe you could check out this
- 1:38Speaker 1: TMZ right here, and I said, well, that was yesterday, Sue.
- 1:44Speaker 1: If you want to know the details, you need to
- 1:46Speaker 1: ask the right questions. This was yesterday.
- 1:48Speaker 2: And so what I got another brawl today?
- 1:51Speaker 1: I'm looking for one today. But so what happened was
- 1:55Speaker 1: we were walking to my doctor's appointment.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked like you guys were on a regular.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Like we had done like a walk walk. Then we
- 2:03Speaker 1: had gone to eat, and then my doctor, the one
- 2:05Speaker 1: that's nearby here, was like, oh, I can see her
- 2:07Speaker 1: for a blood work whatever. So we're walking on this
- 2:11Speaker 1: side of the street and we see this woman and
- 2:13Speaker 1: she is, I mean, it's clear she's like mistreating her dog.
- 2:17Speaker 1: She's like dragging them on the ground and like badly,
- 2:21Speaker 1: and they're like, you know, like all they can, and Kyle,
- 2:26Speaker 1: in a polite way, says, can you please treat your
- 2:29Speaker 1: dogs a little nice? And then the woman went frickin' rogue.
- 2:35Speaker 1: But then I thought, Okay, this is where it's gonna end.
- 2:39Speaker 1: But then the woman. The woman crossed the street, and
- 2:41Speaker 1: then Kyle crossed the street, and I'm like, hold up,
- 2:44Speaker 1: why are we crossing the street. It's already on like
- 2:46Speaker 1: the beware to go to the next side of the street.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So Jin looks at me and she's like, we need
- 2:51Speaker 1: to get over there, and I'm like, I'm not sure
- 2:53Speaker 1: I'm the best one in the fight right now.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I was gonna say, like, this is all you need
- 2:58Speaker 2: is some brawl on and Dura Boulevard.
- 3:01Speaker 1: So then we get over there and.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Already had the hat on.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I was like, I want to warn a better outfit
- 3:07Speaker 1: if I knew we were getting in a paparazzi brawl,
- 3:11Speaker 1: like I.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Was in all beige.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I didn't even put a wig on underneath my hat,
- 3:15Speaker 1: can I tell you? And so then there's they're fighting.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Then the other woman's like screaming, like acting like she's
- 3:24Speaker 1: gonna fight Kyle. Kyle's got the phone out, and I
- 3:28Speaker 1: just walked in front of her just it was genius.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I'm watching everybody's body language and you're just calmly walking
- 3:35Speaker 2: in front of every.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Probably but I don't even know better.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Well, I just think that you're at that place where
- 3:40Speaker 2: it's like yeah, and I mean, you're just very.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I'm like what, I'm like, what are you gonna do
- 3:45Speaker 1: to hurt me? It would be impossible? What and you
- 3:49Speaker 1: know how I am? I focus on two little things
- 3:51Speaker 1: and all I could focus on was that she had
- 3:53Speaker 1: poop in her pants. I know, not not poop, but
- 4:00Speaker 1: I saw the poop. But then it turns into a
- 4:02Speaker 1: whole thing. Everybody else from Nture Boulevard comes down.
- 4:05Speaker 2: How did it resolve? Were the dogs taken away from her?
- 4:08Speaker 1: No? We kept calling animals. Yeah, we called nine one.
- 4:14Speaker 1: The woman just pulled the dogs away and that was
- 4:17Speaker 1: the end. But like nothing, but yeah, that was the
- 4:21Speaker 1: no I saw it. But I was really just a
- 4:23Speaker 1: confused human being wandering around.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Well, Kyle's like, this is how my morning went, and
- 4:28Speaker 2: sent me the video and I go, you gotta be
- 4:30Speaker 2: fucking kidding me.
- 4:31Speaker 1: But the video, this is what I'm confused about. The
- 4:33Speaker 1: video that was posted.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Is someone else from across the street.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It is someone else's video, and there's no noise, so
- 4:39Speaker 1: you can't even hear what's happening.
- 4:41Speaker 2: You know. The video I got was really like okay,
- 4:44Speaker 2: this and the trenches yeah yeah, and you just like
- 4:47Speaker 2: standing there like what's going on. I'm like literally was
- 4:50Speaker 2: like I only my friend.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Group, only us, Like you know, no, no, we're not
- 4:56Speaker 1: gonna let up once there's a crew of people that
- 4:59Speaker 1: are just watching. And then one lady knew me. She's like,
- 5:03Speaker 1: I follow you. Can you go stand over there? And
- 5:06Speaker 1: I was like yes, thank you.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Oh she was concerned for you. Thank you one lady,
- 5:11Speaker 2: because I was concerned for you in the video. I
- 5:13Speaker 2: was like, I don't know the should be doing this
- 5:15Speaker 2: right now, and you're the most sane one out of everybody.
- 5:18Speaker 3: But then all I.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Kept thinking was my appointments in seven minutes. We got
- 5:22Speaker 1: to get this and they have to walk me to
- 5:25Speaker 1: the place I can't be on my own, chased by
- 5:29Speaker 1: and now that we've caused a scene. But either way,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I mean, the woman was completely inappropriate to her dogs.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It was scary. I knew it was gonna set Kyle
- 5:37Speaker 1: off because Kyle has a heart. I haven't seen mine
- 5:40Speaker 1: in a while, but I think.
- 5:41Speaker 2: It's there, still there.
- 5:43Speaker 1: It's I felt a.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Pump limited engagement only only.
- 5:48Speaker 1: When I'm really annoyed, like when cruise came in at
- 5:50Speaker 1: midnight last night for the third time, and all of
- 5:53Speaker 1: a sudden, I feel this and I'm like.
- 5:55Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 5:57Speaker 1: He was checking my sister's here, and he goes he
- 6:00Speaker 1: was checking to see if you were a breathing mom,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh my gosh. But then I'm like, gross,
- 6:06Speaker 1: thank you for checking on me, but you need to
- 6:07Speaker 1: go back to bed.
- 6:09Speaker 2: He looks so handsome in his baseball Oh.
- 6:10Speaker 1: My gosh, that's what's his first game? And he's like,
- 6:13Speaker 1: really good.
- 6:14Speaker 2: It's great.
- 6:14Speaker 1: But baseball is like that sport. It's a long sport
- 6:17Speaker 1: to watch.
- 6:17Speaker 2: It's a long sport, but it's the one that pays
- 6:20Speaker 2: the most money.
- 6:20Speaker 1: There's no boys look the hottest.
- 6:22Speaker 2: They're great. I mean, if you, like, you know, play
- 6:26Speaker 2: pro baseball. I'm not saying that he is, but he
- 6:27Speaker 2: could if he was talented enough. And it's kind of
- 6:30Speaker 2: a great way. It's much better than the other pro
- 6:32Speaker 2: sports except me be golf. Golf you make a lot
- 6:37Speaker 2: of money and you don't get hurt. Do you get
- 6:40Speaker 2: hurt playing basketball?
- 6:41Speaker 1: Tiger's gotten hurt multiple times. I mean, maybe he hasn't
- 6:44Speaker 1: been taking the best care of himself.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But that's an exception to the rule. Most of them
- 6:49Speaker 2: are in pretty good shape. You're not getting hit?
- 6:51Speaker 1: Are you just saying this because you're a better golfer
- 6:53Speaker 1: than me? And that's probably the only sport you can
- 6:55Speaker 1: say that about.
- 6:57Speaker 2: It's not the only sport I can see.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Oh one other sports singing, dancing, Yes.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I can sing, I can dance. I can I can
- 7:03Speaker 2: swing a baseball that.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Oh see, I can't swing a baseball that. Yeah, I'm
- 7:08Speaker 1: not good with clubs.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Club Yeah, good with clubs.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Clubs are not my strong suit. Yeah, but I'm pretty
- 7:14Speaker 1: good at racing. Why was now at this point, I'm
- 7:17Speaker 1: pretty good at sitting and watching.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I may okay, I may beat you out there, because
- 7:23Speaker 2: I'm really I'm really good at sitting and watching things.
- 7:26Speaker 2: These days, all I do is I go home. I
- 7:28Speaker 2: told you. All I do is put on all these
- 7:30Speaker 2: positive meditations because you know why, if I don't, it's
- 7:34Speaker 2: going to end up on a crime show.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Well that's where I end up.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Oh are you watching the true crime?
- 7:38Speaker 1: Now? Yeah? I'm watching tons of true crime. And I
- 7:41Speaker 1: also watched Adolescents, which is so do you like that?
- 7:43Speaker 2: How was that?
- 7:45Speaker 1: It's so?
- 7:46Speaker 2: It was masterful? But it is a depressing set.
- 7:48Speaker 1: It's really depressing. And this I don't want to ruin
- 7:51Speaker 1: this for anybody, but like I like a clean cut ending.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Oh and there wasn't one. Kind of like life, yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Kind of like our lives. Yeah, I don't know. Well,
- 8:01Speaker 1: which is the strange thing is we asked all of
- 8:03Speaker 1: our listeners what they would want to hear us talk about.
- 8:06Speaker 2: No more sex.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I'm shocked they didn't want to hear every.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Jet, the jets. When you're a jet, you're a jet
- 8:14Speaker 2: all the way.
- 8:14Speaker 1: When you're a jet, you're a jet. So they said,
- 8:18Speaker 1: we want you guys to discuss the female friendships, especially
- 8:23Speaker 1: later in life.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Okay, let's talk about it.
- 8:25Speaker 1: We can talk about it. So the first question is,
- 8:27Speaker 1: can you talk about how you didn't hit it off
- 8:29Speaker 1: at first and now have a beautiful friendship. What made
- 8:33Speaker 1: you go from I don't know about her? All right?
- 8:36Speaker 1: This girl is for me.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Now? Can I speak first?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Yes, and then I'll come back.
- 8:41Speaker 2: So I think that when a new person enters the shows,
- 8:45Speaker 2: because we obviously met on the show, that sometimes you
- 8:51Speaker 2: don't get the best feel for one another. And so
- 8:54Speaker 2: we didn't hit it off right away, but I gained
- 8:56Speaker 2: a lot of respect for you. And this is where
- 8:59Speaker 2: my whole I couldn't figure it out. Where my whole
- 9:02Speaker 2: thing changed for you was when you stood up and
- 9:05Speaker 2: did the right thing regarding the dog and Dewy and
- 9:09Speaker 2: all that. I was like, this woman has balls and
- 9:14Speaker 2: this woman is someone and I like that because you
- 9:18Speaker 2: were like, I'm not doing this and all of you
- 9:20Speaker 2: think you know the whole story. You don't, but I do.
- 9:25Speaker 2: And that right there made me think there's really substance
- 9:31Speaker 2: to this woman. And when I saw that, I was like,
- 9:36Speaker 2: that's bold and I liked that, and I.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Felt that I felt the shift then too with you
- 9:41Speaker 1: guys and pretty much everybody, because I mean it was
- 9:46Speaker 1: we sat at that hot table in the Bahamas for
- 9:48Speaker 1: a very long time, very long time for me to get.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Those balls, but it doesn't matter. You got the balls
- 9:54Speaker 2: and you did it. And then I was like, oh shit, yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 2: that's someone who's telling the truth and I like that.
- 10:03Speaker 2: And from then on I was like, cool, we're good.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Well for me, it was a little different. I feel
- 10:07Speaker 1: like one of the things that we get along so
- 10:10Speaker 1: well about right now is I think we're both quite
- 10:13Speaker 1: good at reading people. Yeah, And I think and I'm
- 10:17Speaker 1: sorry to say this, but this goes for both of us.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I think both of us weren't being our full person. No,
- 10:25Speaker 1: we both were having a lot of struggles.
- 10:27Speaker 2: And especially now when you look back at it in context,
- 10:30Speaker 2: we were both struggling and could not see eyda eye.
- 10:33Speaker 1: We couldn't see eye to eye, and I think both
- 10:35Speaker 1: of us felt something was disingenuine about the other one.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But were I was putting it on myself. She doesn't
- 10:42Speaker 1: like me, she doesn't this me, or and she probably
- 10:46Speaker 1: thought she's fake or.
- 10:47Speaker 2: She No, I didn't think you were fake. I thought
- 10:50Speaker 2: I remember trying to befriend you on the flight to Vegas,
- 10:54Speaker 2: and I said, oh, I heard and you. I asked
- 10:56Speaker 2: you a question we were seated on the back. Oh yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 2: was salient, and the way you answered me was like yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 2: And I just thought, oh, she's already made up her
- 11:04Speaker 2: mind about me, like she doesn't like me. And it
- 11:07Speaker 2: was just that one moment I was like, Okay, leave
- 11:10Speaker 2: her alone kind of thing, like she's not.
- 11:12Speaker 1: She's not my person. And I think we both got that,
- 11:15Speaker 1: and I think the more that we kind of hung
- 11:18Speaker 1: around each other, it was like okay. It was even
- 11:22Speaker 1: when you said that I wasn't a fawn in the woods.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I was like, okay, she at least sees who I am.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And the audience, it told, cussed me out. But I
- 11:32Speaker 2: was right, just like I'm gonna tell y'all, I'm always right,
- 11:36Speaker 2: whether it's today, tomorrow, or five years you know what.
- 11:40Speaker 1: She may have been right on that one, but I
- 11:42Speaker 1: was right too when it would she waited us wait
- 11:44Speaker 1: too long to put on the red. Oh that was
- 11:47Speaker 1: I had raged that day.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I know you had raged, and you know what I do.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You know why I was late because I was sick
- 11:53Speaker 2: and I was trying to find something at the pharmacy
- 11:55Speaker 2: and I couldn't get back in time. And the pharmacy
- 11:57Speaker 2: because it like was lunchtime. After we went to the zoo,
- 12:00Speaker 2: which was really cool.
- 12:01Speaker 1: We did love that we got along the.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Pandas, like the pandas were cool and I couldn't get
- 12:08Speaker 2: I was trying to get something in my throat. Anyway, Yes,
- 12:10Speaker 2: I understand why you were late. I was upset too,
- 12:12Speaker 2: and that I shouldn't have kept everybody waiting. But it
- 12:14Speaker 2: was red.
- 12:15Speaker 1: But it was great when you were walking and then
- 12:17Speaker 1: your little heel got caught in the little hat.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Oh, and the bicycle almost ran me down, like it
- 12:23Speaker 2: was sometimes it was necessary. Sometimes God works in weird ways.
- 12:27Speaker 2: But I do think that when everything happened for you
- 12:31Speaker 2: at this show, I wasn't and I had made I
- 12:36Speaker 2: liked you and I respected you, and I wasn't going
- 12:38Speaker 2: to let the fact that you weren't on our show
- 12:42Speaker 2: like stop our our but our burgeoning friendship. I just
- 12:45Speaker 2: wasn't going to do that. I don't believe in that, like, oh,
- 12:48Speaker 2: that person is no longer on the show, so therefore
- 12:50Speaker 2: we don't talk to them.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And I think it also it you realize that somebody
- 12:55Speaker 1: is transferred into an actual friend when you want to
- 12:58Speaker 1: tell them something that has nothing to do with the show,
- 13:02Speaker 1: Like you're a person that I would reach out to.
- 13:04Speaker 1: And I've said this in probably every single press interview
- 13:07Speaker 1: I ever asked. When people are like, well, tell us
- 13:09Speaker 1: about the girls on the show, I'm like, if I
- 13:11Speaker 1: were ever in jail needed to get out, wanted to
- 13:15Speaker 1: call somebody that would never tell anybody, it would be.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Architectic, Like that's right. And you know what this reminds me.
- 13:23Speaker 2: When I was going through all of this shit with Tom,
- 13:25Speaker 2: you sent me like drinks, and you go, I know
- 13:29Speaker 2: you could use a drink right now, and I thought,
- 13:32Speaker 2: and we hadn't spoken a little while, I had talked
- 13:34Speaker 2: to anybody, and I thought, thank you, Teddy. It was
- 13:36Speaker 2: just so nice of you to recognize that shit was bad.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And sometimes you don't want to talk about it.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I was just in a weird, like
- 13:43Speaker 2: scared place, and you were like, I think you could
- 13:45Speaker 2: use a drink right now. I'll never forget that.
- 13:47Speaker 1: And I was, you know what, we made it use
- 13:51Speaker 1: a drink soon.
- 13:53Speaker 2: When you can, when you can't.
- 13:55Speaker 1: The weird thing is I am allowed to drink right now,
- 13:58Speaker 1: but I'm so freaking tired of the time.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Oh, you'll just have to go to sleep.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that it's in night nighttime.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll have to time.
- 14:06Speaker 1: That, Okay. So that's how we started kind of getting
- 14:09Speaker 1: into it. And I do think it helped that both
- 14:12Speaker 1: of us had a good relationship with Renna.
- 14:15Speaker 2: She was really she was very She was a great
- 14:18Speaker 2: broker for our friendship.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yeah, because Renna would always try with me, like she
- 14:24Speaker 1: she likes you.
- 14:24Speaker 2: She always liked to still likes you, still loves you.
- 14:27Speaker 1: But she would try. You know, you'd get little notes
- 14:30Speaker 1: from production about people's past and Renna. You know, what
- 14:33Speaker 1: made her such a great housewife is that she'd poke
- 14:36Speaker 1: at you like she'd be like, so I heard you
- 14:38Speaker 1: at your placenta.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Yeah, which was wild and I was I.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Was like, yes, I did, but it was in pill form.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Do you have a problem with it? It supposedly supposed
- 14:46Speaker 1: to make you feel better? Would you do it? Or
- 14:48Speaker 1: should I look into your.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Pill postpart depression? She was like shit, you know, like.
- 14:54Speaker 1: She had the ability to like go in hard, but
- 14:56Speaker 1: then also if you said something that made sense, she'd
- 14:59Speaker 1: be like.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, she gets a bad rap sometimes because people
- 15:03Speaker 2: don't understand Lisa Rena is a very good friend.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Yeah she's not one. Oh my god, Lisa Renna came
- 15:08Speaker 1: in to see me in the hospital.
- 15:10Speaker 3: I know.
- 15:10Speaker 2: She told me she called me and that was one
- 15:12Speaker 2: of my bad days. She tell me. She was like, Erica,
- 15:15Speaker 2: I just left Teddy. I don't know what to say.
- 15:20Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 15:21Speaker 1: It was like if it was your arena's worst day
- 15:24Speaker 1: on Housewives, Oh, I'm sure me on steroids.
- 15:28Speaker 2: You know, I don't do well on that, like pregnant
- 15:30Speaker 2: zone and sh'd I get wild? Oh my god, you, Hi,
- 15:33Speaker 2: fiant I can't deal.
- 15:35Speaker 1: But the promise. I didn't know I was being there.
- 15:37Speaker 2: You also just had your head opened.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, I did have a little sprout
- 15:42Speaker 1: coming out of the top that I covered up today.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I couldn't even do a wig today. That's the kind
- 15:46Speaker 1: of dumb mother.
- 15:48Speaker 2: You look beautiful like this. I have a nice shaped head.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I kept telling you that.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Thanks. Well, I'll probably wear a wig for tomorrow because
- 15:53Speaker 1: I'll be with my sister and.
- 15:56Speaker 2: One. Well, no like an you. She's sitting right.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Here in the couch, right here, laughing because.
- 16:03Speaker 2: And I've never met Justice. We just met all these years.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Because we are motto is I am the cute one.
- 16:10Speaker 1: She's just my sister. She looks like we took that
- 16:13Speaker 1: from Mary Kate and Ashley Olson.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I like them. That's a good thing to take because
- 16:17Speaker 2: they got a billion dollars.
- 16:19Speaker 3: You know what you try?
- 16:32Speaker 1: Okay, So the next thing is, what's something about each
- 16:35Speaker 1: other that surprised you in a good way? After you
- 16:38Speaker 1: got close?
- 16:39Speaker 2: Teddy, it's probably I have to say this. You are
- 16:41Speaker 2: one of the most mentally strong people I've ever seen
- 16:46Speaker 2: in my entire fucking life. This woman, if it's a commitment.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I'll never forget. We were in Santa Barbara and I
- 16:53Speaker 2: don't know if you remember me being a bitch. You
- 16:55Speaker 2: this woman will wake up at the crack of dawn
- 16:58Speaker 2: and go run like one hundred miles before we ever
- 17:00Speaker 2: started like getting up to and I just remember, keep going,
- 17:03Speaker 2: keep going. She's out there running in the heat, and
- 17:06Speaker 2: just You're one of the most disciplined, mentally strong people
- 17:09Speaker 2: I've ever seen. The commitment is is and.
- 17:13Speaker 1: She would give me shit about it, but I worry
- 17:15Speaker 1: I would give her shit back in my head, I
- 17:17Speaker 1: just didn't have enough balls to say.
- 17:18Speaker 4: You had a lot of balls, you just weren't doing it,
- 17:21Speaker 4: But I I would say for me, it started when
- 17:25Speaker 4: when shit started hitting the fan for me on the
- 17:28Speaker 4: show and I realized how warm you could be.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I was like, oh, so I've just made up a
- 17:33Speaker 1: completely wrong person.
- 17:35Speaker 2: No, I don't think that I've come across real cuddly,
- 17:37Speaker 2: but you know what I am did I don't, but
- 17:40Speaker 2: you know what I am good at. When people are down,
- 17:42Speaker 2: I'm like, hold on a second, we're going to get
- 17:44Speaker 2: through this. That is one thing that I do now
- 17:47Speaker 2: because I just don't like for people to feel.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Alone, and you'll stop somebody on their tracks when they're
- 17:52Speaker 1: going down the rabbit hole the wrong the wrong way.
- 17:55Speaker 1: What's something you think? So this is for both of us.
- 17:59Speaker 1: What's thing we think we do well as friends that
- 18:02Speaker 1: maybe we don't give ourselves credit for. For me, it's
- 18:07Speaker 1: you give very helpful, honest advice that maybe people think think,
- 18:13Speaker 1: but they don't actually want to hear it. I don't
- 18:16Speaker 1: get my feelings hurt in that way.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I don't.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Like there was something we were talking about the other
- 18:20Speaker 1: day and you were like, Teddy, absolutely do not do that,
- 18:23Speaker 1: and like the tone came out like where I was like,
- 18:27Speaker 1: and I was like, I'm actually not going to do it.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And I'm also not going to be offended by that tone,
- 18:32Speaker 1: because that's an I love you tone.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I just think that maybe in that particular situation, listen,
- 18:41Speaker 2: that was a flat out no. And I could see
- 18:43Speaker 2: you kind of wanting to make because Teddy, you know,
- 18:46Speaker 2: you're somebody that's always working and always making things happen.
- 18:49Speaker 2: I was like, we're not. That is not I'm sorry,
- 18:52Speaker 2: that is not happening. What is something that I do
- 18:56Speaker 2: well as a friend? Maybe I don't give myself credit
- 18:58Speaker 2: for I'd like to think that I'm not judgmental. I'd
- 19:05Speaker 2: like to Oh, I hope that when people come to
- 19:08Speaker 2: me they know that first off, I'm not gonna you
- 19:12Speaker 2: can tell me there isn't anything that I'm going to
- 19:14Speaker 2: be like ew let me get I'm always like, okay,
- 19:17Speaker 2: we can work this out, Like that's all right. Other
- 19:20Speaker 2: people have gone through things like this, like don't feel bad,
- 19:23Speaker 2: there's always something to do. I hope that I do that.
- 19:27Speaker 2: I guess that's how I'm answering this.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I think that you do that. And I think you
- 19:30Speaker 1: also have a good way of when when friendships are
- 19:35Speaker 1: not going as planned, you have a great way of
- 19:39Speaker 1: being able to talk to the person that's, you know,
- 19:43Speaker 1: that's hurt and kind of help the situation, but also
- 19:46Speaker 1: talk to the person that may potentially be doing the
- 19:48Speaker 1: hurting and say like this is where you need to
- 19:51Speaker 1: jump in. And I think it's hard to navigate both sides,
- 19:55Speaker 1: and you can do that, which I'm more of a
- 19:57Speaker 1: one sided goal.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Well, I do are your loyalty and I I do.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And I think that you know, like yours and Kyle's
- 20:06Speaker 2: friendship is really otherworldly, like it's it's really great to
- 20:10Speaker 2: see and I know how much she loves you and
- 20:13Speaker 2: you love her. And I also admire the fact that
- 20:18Speaker 2: you will own your ship. Yeah, you'll be like I
- 20:21Speaker 2: did this or I cannot. I cannot lie to you
- 20:24Speaker 2: like this is what it is. I'm not going to
- 20:26Speaker 2: do that if it involves me. Yeah, if it involves you.
- 20:28Speaker 1: But I'm never gonna If you told.
- 20:30Speaker 2: You don't, I'm no, you're not.
- 20:32Speaker 1: You're not, And I think you're the same way.
- 20:34Speaker 2: No, I'm not saying it. And I won't do if
- 20:36Speaker 2: somebody comes and asks me to say something or do
- 20:39Speaker 2: something that I don't agree with, I will not do it.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Like no, like to hurt someone else, or to expose
- 20:45Speaker 2: someone else, or to make someone feel. Now I may
- 20:48Speaker 2: do it myself say fuck you, like you know whatever, But.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I mean I have done it to people before in
- 20:52Speaker 1: the past. But I feel like I've learned my lesson
- 20:54Speaker 1: in that way. I would have. I wish the way
- 20:57Speaker 1: that like my gut on my like my little beating heart,
- 21:00Speaker 1: my little the grand true stool Christmas heart would have
- 21:04Speaker 1: handled things was like just always gone directly to the person. Yeah,
- 21:09Speaker 1: but sometimes I would maybe have a stop on the way.
- 21:12Speaker 2: And stop always got you in trouble.
- 21:14Speaker 1: The stop wasn't the stop was.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Not the best, not the best idea.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Do you believe in having one best friend or do
- 21:23Speaker 1: you think different friends serve different roles.
- 21:26Speaker 2: I believe different friends serve different roles. Now I'll tell
- 21:28Speaker 2: you why. Because there are certain people I connect with,
- 21:34Speaker 2: let's just say being a mom. Certain people I connect
- 21:38Speaker 2: with with. You know they and and I'm talking about
- 21:41Speaker 2: me going to other people. For like, when I share things,
- 21:45Speaker 2: I share certain things that I feel very comfortable. Somebody
- 21:48Speaker 2: would know, you know, what do I do with this situation?
- 21:51Speaker 2: So I feel like I have a lot of My
- 21:54Speaker 2: friend group is small, but I definitely don't believe in
- 21:57Speaker 2: one single friend. I like different strengths than people.
- 22:02Speaker 1: And I think it's I mean, I think if we
- 22:04Speaker 1: saw all of my friends and you know, my sister
- 22:08Speaker 1: and everybody combined in one room, which I did in
- 22:11Speaker 1: the hospital, it was like, I do like a certain type.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I like a strong will you like people to tell
- 22:17Speaker 2: it how to? Yeah?
- 22:17Speaker 1: I like strong people who are funny, yeah, And so
- 22:21Speaker 1: for me that's key. But when it comes to like
- 22:24Speaker 1: a best friend, like I forgot who my it was?
- 22:27Speaker 1: Maybe even Justice said who do you think your best
- 22:29Speaker 1: friend is? And I said, I can't answer who my
- 22:33Speaker 1: best friend is. No, I can answer who. Like my
- 22:36Speaker 1: core ten people have been.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Not a lot of people to hunt. But I still
- 22:40Speaker 2: have high school See that's impressive. I used to have
- 22:44Speaker 2: high school friends. But you know, I think sometimes my
- 22:46Speaker 2: circle is very small, you know, and I have no
- 22:49Speaker 2: problem like.
- 22:50Speaker 1: But also question, did Tom make your circle smaller?
- 22:53Speaker 2: I was always small, but yes, I was very wrapped
- 22:56Speaker 2: up and lived behind gates and was very much involved
- 22:59Speaker 2: in his life. So I had maybe two or three friends.
- 23:02Speaker 2: But you know who's good. I would go to Lisa
- 23:06Speaker 2: Renna to say, to ask her a question, and Lisa
- 23:09Speaker 2: Arena has this very very skilled way of saying, you
- 23:12Speaker 2: know who you should go talk to about that? Go
- 23:15Speaker 2: talk to this one about that, because I know that
- 23:17Speaker 2: they have experience in that area. Lisa is very good
- 23:20Speaker 2: like that. She'll say, I don't really know much about it,
- 23:22Speaker 2: but I know that that person does. Go talk to
- 23:25Speaker 2: that person, and she's been right on many times, and
- 23:28Speaker 2: I think.
- 23:28Speaker 1: That that's key. But I also think we have different
- 23:31Speaker 1: friends for different seasons in our life. It's not that
- 23:34Speaker 1: I'm not friends with certain people, but like sometimes I'm
- 23:37Speaker 1: really close with someone going through something together. Yeah, and
- 23:41Speaker 1: it feels the same. And then or there are people
- 23:45Speaker 1: that I was close with and then I had a
- 23:47Speaker 1: bunch of kids, and then I was like, what am
- 23:49Speaker 1: I gonna do every Saturday? I'd be like, you want
- 23:51Speaker 1: to come hang at the pool with me and my
- 23:52Speaker 1: forty two kids? No, no, they don't.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I'm not that girl. No, but I'd rather sit here
- 23:57Speaker 2: and do this with you.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yeah, but like, we'll figure it out. And I have
- 24:00Speaker 1: to say the other night when we were at Kyle's
- 24:02Speaker 1: there was a friend that you hadn't metaphrs before, and
- 24:05Speaker 1: after you left, she was like, I am obsessed with Erica.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she was like, she just may lays it
- 24:13Speaker 1: all out. So it's so effortless to understand. There's no
- 24:16Speaker 1: like sifting through the mind. And that's the thing. When
- 24:19Speaker 1: you live in Los Angeles, a lot of people feed.
- 24:21Speaker 2: You a lot of bullshit, a lot of bullshit, and
- 24:24Speaker 2: this is not the place with a time like, you know,
- 24:27Speaker 2: especially at Kyle's house with you and Jen celebrating Jen,
- 24:31Speaker 2: like that was just not I don't want to do
- 24:34Speaker 2: that at this age, you know, maybe fifty four in
- 24:35Speaker 2: a few months and I was thinking about that. It's
- 24:38Speaker 2: just I want to be going to four our birthdays.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Should we go do something big for shit? Because you're
- 24:45Speaker 1: going to be fifty four and I'm going to be
- 24:47Speaker 1: forty five. Oh, it's got to mean something.
- 24:49Speaker 2: It's got to be so let's do something. Should we
- 24:53Speaker 2: get our other cancer girlfriends together to Yes, let's do it.
- 24:56Speaker 2: That would be fun actually because we all our birthdays
- 24:59Speaker 2: are in a row.
- 25:00Speaker 1: And we've never all been able to do it before
- 25:02Speaker 1: because the last time you were in another country for
- 25:04Speaker 1: my fortieth, so you couldn't come to that shit show
- 25:07Speaker 1: of my birthday.
- 25:08Speaker 2: But it was this time. We really need to have
- 25:10Speaker 2: a good time.
- 25:10Speaker 1: We're going to do it.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Do you believe the quality of friends over quantity is
- 25:15Speaker 1: more important?
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yes, for sure, quality over quantity every.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Time, every time.
- 25:20Speaker 2: And I think also too when you're going I know
- 25:23Speaker 2: us being on this show for a long time, and.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I mean I don't know that I was on it
- 25:27Speaker 1: for a long time.
- 25:28Speaker 2: No, I'm talking about like in this like but your
- 25:31Speaker 2: other shows as well, like in your public life, the
- 25:35Speaker 2: quality of your friends, because there are only certain people
- 25:38Speaker 2: that you trust in this circle because not everybody has
- 25:43Speaker 2: the best intentions here.
- 25:45Speaker 1: No, And somebody said that to me, even with my
- 25:47Speaker 1: cancer stuff.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Oh, I was going to say the same thing, like there,
- 25:49Speaker 2: I'm sure there are lots of people that are trying
- 25:51Speaker 2: to get close to you for all the wrong reasons.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Well, someone said to me, and this is somebody I
- 25:55Speaker 1: ride horses with. She was like, be careful for the
- 25:58Speaker 1: friends that you all a sudden have that be your
- 26:01Speaker 1: friends before that you had cancer. And I was like,
- 26:04Speaker 1: why would anyone? And then I realized it's like everything
- 26:07Speaker 1: that they post or everything that they do hits gets
- 26:11Speaker 1: the more social media followers. That it's really wild, wild
- 26:17Speaker 1: to think about because I I actually, for me, it's
- 26:20Speaker 1: if I don't like you, I don't like you, I
- 26:21Speaker 1: don't want to spend.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Time with You've never and you've always been I don't
- 26:25Speaker 2: like that. No, I don't like that.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, yeah, And if I don't like it,
- 26:30Speaker 1: I'm not gonna you're not doing it.
- 26:31Speaker 2: No, you don't fake it.
- 26:32Speaker 1: And I think that's also the power of no, which
- 26:34Speaker 1: goes into like the same thing as like having quantity
- 26:37Speaker 1: over quality friends, Like if I don't want to do something,
- 26:41Speaker 1: you're not doing it like I don't care what event
- 26:44Speaker 1: it is. Like there's been times where all the girls
- 26:47Speaker 1: are like you guys, went to a dinner one night
- 26:50Speaker 1: and the Fox fours five did and they messaged me
- 26:53Speaker 1: and they're like them and they're like it starts at eight.
- 26:55Speaker 1: And I was like, I'm not going love you guys.
- 26:58Speaker 2: We actually had to arrange our lunches and our dinners
- 27:02Speaker 2: around your schedule.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because I don't like to do shit late.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Well this was even before, like this has been years,
- 27:09Speaker 2: you know, not just recently.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but I was right, it's better to do things early.
- 27:13Speaker 2: No, I look, I'm with you. We like the other night,
- 27:17Speaker 2: I know, we were over at kyle'son home by nine.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Oh guys, you didn't even get to see my tattoo. Okay,
- 27:22Speaker 1: So always I've wanted this tattoo and I never got it. Also,
- 27:26Speaker 1: before everybody has a full mental break.
- 27:29Speaker 2: She was allowed ID to get the tattoo, So don't
- 27:33Speaker 2: get crazy.
- 27:34Speaker 1: So my entire family and I have talked at all
- 27:37Speaker 1: these holidays about wanting to get this little knife. I
- 27:39Speaker 1: don't know if you can see it, but and also
- 27:41Speaker 1: don't mind that my nails that I've bitten off as
- 27:43Speaker 1: I show you this, but because I want to whenever
- 27:46Speaker 1: I'm annoyed, just be able to go. And then anyone
- 27:50Speaker 1: that knows me knows we're done with this conversation.
- 27:52Speaker 2: We're not going any further.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Plus, Justice reminded me we had a song that went
- 27:57Speaker 1: with it, and we'd go, I think, God, this little knife.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Oh well there you go.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Do you remember I think I like this little life.
- 28:05Speaker 1: That was the most obnoxious song ever. Will you know
- 28:07Speaker 1: what we've now taken it for the little knife?
- 28:10Speaker 2: I like it. I wish I could have gotten a knife,
- 28:12Speaker 2: but I look kind of you know, that's all I
- 28:14Speaker 2: need for my rebuild.
- 28:16Speaker 1: You know, Eric has gotten a night back.
- 28:21Speaker 2: We always know she was terrible. Relax, it's not that deep. Um,
- 28:26Speaker 2: let me live.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Okay. What do you think the secret is to keeping
- 28:32Speaker 1: a strong friendship going communication?
- 28:35Speaker 2: And it doesn't always have to be if you were
- 28:37Speaker 2: friends with somebody, I can pick up with you. Like
- 28:39Speaker 2: let's say I have friends, I don't speak to them
- 28:43Speaker 2: for months, a couple months, but when I do, it's
- 28:46Speaker 2: like we never be left. And that to me is
- 28:48Speaker 2: the signal of a real friendship.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Me too, It's a lot, a lot that are needy
- 28:52Speaker 1: and all pain in the ass, and like I texted you,
- 28:55Speaker 1: but I didn't hear right back from you. Yeah, I
- 28:57Speaker 1: just had fucking brain cancer.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I've been busy.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I can't see my text message. And the last thing
- 29:04Speaker 1: that I'm gonna do is my eyes. Yeah, and listen,
- 29:09Speaker 1: if you want me to call you right back, tell
- 29:11Speaker 1: me you got some gossip.
- 29:13Speaker 2: You better be worth it at this point.
- 29:15Speaker 1: If you're just checking in on me, this is what
- 29:17Speaker 1: I also learned. If you're just checking in on somebody,
- 29:19Speaker 1: say hey, I'm just checking in on me. You don't
- 29:21Speaker 1: need to write me back, no, but just sending.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Love, just sending hugs.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great. Then I don't have to worry about it.
- 29:29Speaker 2: I don't worry about it.
- 29:31Speaker 1: And then is there's such a thing as too much
- 29:34Speaker 1: honesty and a friendship?
- 29:35Speaker 2: Yes, yes, I think that for me, if something does
- 29:42Speaker 2: not help or something or is Look, I think a
- 29:48Speaker 2: lot of people have put this. I'm unfiltered. I say
- 29:51Speaker 2: it the way it is. That's great. Yeah, but if
- 29:54Speaker 2: it hurts, hold on, Like if it's not something critical,
- 30:00Speaker 2: if I knew something that was drastically going to change
- 30:03Speaker 2: something for you, I'd listen I've got to tell you
- 30:05Speaker 2: this is not going to be easy. But I got
- 30:07Speaker 2: to tell you this, which is like my fucking opinion.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Who cares?
- 30:11Speaker 1: You know, It's like, but I also think, I mean,
- 30:14Speaker 1: I was in a situation the other day where I mean,
- 30:17Speaker 1: this was with somebody of the male gender, So it
- 30:20Speaker 1: was different because I think sometimes they miss social cues
- 30:24Speaker 1: a lot. And it's nobody that I had a relationship
- 30:28Speaker 1: with or anything. But they were like, hey, you know,
- 30:30Speaker 1: the next time that you're irritated about, it's somebody I
- 30:34Speaker 1: work with, the next time, will you pull me aside
- 30:37Speaker 1: and tell me and tell me and not in front
- 30:40Speaker 1: of a group. And I was like, well, I don't
- 30:42Speaker 1: consider two people a group and we all work together.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Oh like.
- 30:46Speaker 1: But then I found myself getting crazy, Like then I
- 30:49Speaker 1: was like trying to prove myself.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Well, you're competitive.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Well then I was like, well, did you make a
- 30:54Speaker 1: mistake or did you not?
- 30:55Speaker 2: Well? See competitive, this is who she is.
- 30:58Speaker 1: But then I found myself going, why couldn't you have
- 31:00Speaker 1: just gone.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Oh way, you're right, okay.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Next time, I'll solely bring it up to you. But like,
- 31:06Speaker 1: is that.
- 31:08Speaker 2: I think you probably could have left it it okay? Yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 2: when you start driving home the point a little too hard.
- 31:17Speaker 1: It's not great.
- 31:17Speaker 2: It's not great.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I made a shake on it at the end.
- 31:21Speaker 2: That's okay.
- 31:22Speaker 1: I mean, I mean it's not great.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Look it's it's not terrible. It's not earth shattering. Yeah,
- 31:29Speaker 2: but it's just something for next time, like that cool.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Like I should have put. Then this hot part of
- 31:34Speaker 1: my body fills up and I'm like I need to
- 31:36Speaker 1: show I know, well, is there a friendship as an
- 31:40Speaker 1: adult that you've cut off? And why?
- 31:45Speaker 2: Let me think about that. I didn't have a whole
- 31:46Speaker 2: lot to cut out. No, nothing comes to mind right now?
- 31:50Speaker 2: What about you?
- 31:51Speaker 1: Only one? And it wasn't necessarily a cut off. It
- 31:55Speaker 1: was like the year. I mean, weirdly, I had a
- 31:59Speaker 1: year that was almost as bad as this one. It
- 32:02Speaker 1: was right when it was right when I got fired
- 32:05Speaker 1: and Slade amputato her fingers right.
- 32:09Speaker 2: And both of our lives burned down that time. So yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 2: I'm sorry to anybody, but like both of Slate's finger
- 32:14Speaker 2: got chopped off, the guy got killed at your house,
- 32:16Speaker 2: you got fired, her head right, all of it.
- 32:20Speaker 1: It was a rough year and somebody that I had
- 32:23Speaker 1: worked with, Oh, then I was getting attacked on the
- 32:25Speaker 1: internet by a stranger. Yes, so somebody that I had
- 32:29Speaker 1: worked with was very upset that me getting attacked online,
- 32:36Speaker 1: was upset was hurting her business that she started because
- 32:41Speaker 1: of mine. Okay, that's I was like, you know what,
- 32:45Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Mad at you, but I don't need this.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm not going to talk about this with you,
- 32:50Speaker 1: like your your business came to fruition becaucause of me
- 32:54Speaker 1: because of a television show I was on, And you
- 32:57Speaker 1: don't think I'm also bummed on how it's affected my business.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Right Like, I don't feel good either, So let's not.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yeah, let's not. This is so for me. It's like,
- 33:06Speaker 1: if you're gonna come to me and be mad over
- 33:08Speaker 1: something I can do, Like what was I going to do?
- 33:10Speaker 1: Be like, hey, Alex Baskin, producer of Housewives, can you
- 33:16Speaker 1: please ignore everything that's going on and bring me back.
- 33:18Speaker 1: One of my friends is a little irritated, right.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Like, why is this all of a sudden about her
- 33:23Speaker 2: and not about you? You know, I don't have I
- 33:26Speaker 2: keep so few people close that I think there are
- 33:30Speaker 2: different levels different Well, there are acquaintances, you know. So
- 33:33Speaker 2: the people that are close to me are close to me,
- 33:35Speaker 2: and yeah, I haven't. I don't think anybody in my
- 33:37Speaker 2: adult relationships.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Do you think your friends are similar to you or different?
- 33:43Speaker 1: Like Liyah, for example, I think is like she feels
- 33:46Speaker 1: like a pulled back.
- 33:47Speaker 2: But she's quiet strength, quiet strength. She's very scrappy, but
- 33:51Speaker 2: she's very quiet strengths.
- 33:53Speaker 1: She keeps it undercover, very but she gets sh done
- 33:56Speaker 1: within seconds.
- 33:57Speaker 2: She does. And she's also tough. She's very tough, but
- 34:01Speaker 2: you wouldn't. She's not projecting it outward. Yeah, I'm trying
- 34:05Speaker 2: to think like friendships. No, but I've cut some people
- 34:08Speaker 2: out romantically like that. I've seen post divorce that I
- 34:13Speaker 2: think we're just not the best. Ye.
- 34:16Speaker 1: How long did it take you to figure that out?
- 34:18Speaker 2: Too long? You know what I mean? Too long and
- 34:23Speaker 2: not that in the sense that, oh my god, I
- 34:24Speaker 2: wasted time because look whatever that means, but it was
- 34:28Speaker 2: just like it wasn't necessary and looking back on it now,
- 34:31Speaker 2: I'm glad that that's sober.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, we got to get back to the word
- 34:35Speaker 1: we don't like to use.
- 34:36Speaker 2: What's that one?
- 34:37Speaker 1: We're going We're on to the second page.
- 34:39Speaker 2: We are what do we have love languages or their friendship? Okay,
- 34:43Speaker 2: sweepy as being in the public life changed the way
- 34:46Speaker 2: you trust or form new friendships. Absolutely, but you've always
- 34:50Speaker 2: been in the public eye like you guys have always
- 34:53Speaker 2: even though you grow I know you always say this.
- 34:55Speaker 2: We grew up on Hilton Head. My dad's from Indiana,
- 34:57Speaker 2: Like I get it. But your father was like a
- 34:59Speaker 2: really big star. So don't tell me both of you
- 35:02Speaker 2: that that didn't come into play like people knew so
- 35:06Speaker 2: did you ever see?
- 35:07Speaker 1: But we were chosen too at that point. We were
- 35:11Speaker 1: like he had two like tall ass sons that played
- 35:16Speaker 1: like rugby or whatever.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I have to stop you. I knew your dad was
- 35:21Speaker 2: a big rock star, like and I'm older than you,
- 35:24Speaker 2: so to me, you've always been the children, Like I
- 35:28Speaker 2: knew that there were other kids, but.
- 35:30Speaker 1: But we got more attention. We got more attention from
- 35:35Speaker 1: like I just did an interview with Shep. We got
- 35:37Speaker 1: more attention from my mom because my mom like we
- 35:41Speaker 1: had like a big party house and like, yeah, like
- 35:45Speaker 1: everybody would talk about Vicky, you know, like so it's
- 35:48Speaker 1: yeah and the monkey, the monkey, the monkey mean to you, Yeah,
- 35:53Speaker 1: but yeah, I think we always did have our dad.
- 35:56Speaker 1: But because we put even though other people may have
- 35:58Speaker 1: put him on a pedestal.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Oh no, he's just your dad.
- 36:01Speaker 1: We didn't.
- 36:02Speaker 2: And by the way, I had to defend John Mellencamp
- 36:05Speaker 2: the other day Teddy in an interview. Did you know that?
- 36:08Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I did.
- 36:10Speaker 2: I thought I was going over there to talk to
- 36:12Speaker 2: masked singer and this dude says, so John Mellencamp says
- 36:16Speaker 2: he's preparing for the muscle. I said, whoa, this is
- 36:19Speaker 2: like humorous, like let's not go down.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Like I made a total freaking joke about it. And
- 36:24Speaker 1: he was like, let's pick our top six And I'm like,
- 36:28Speaker 1: what are we going back to? What was it before Facebook?
- 36:31Speaker 2: Or that my Space? The top six? But I just
- 36:35Speaker 2: want you to know, like in that interview, I was like, what,
- 36:39Speaker 2: like what the fuck? Like, don't don't make this dark,
- 36:43Speaker 2: like this was something that they you know that you
- 36:45Speaker 2: and your father were talking about this. There's humor in
- 36:47Speaker 2: the here.
- 36:47Speaker 1: And in that same token like here he knows me
- 36:51Speaker 1: well enough. Like I even told my sister when she came,
- 36:53Speaker 1: I'm like, no crying around. I don't want to.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I don't want to hear it.
- 36:57Speaker 1: But my dad knows that I need like some comedy
- 37:02Speaker 1: to this because his next quote or his next thing
- 37:06Speaker 1: was like, all right, now we actually really do have
- 37:09Speaker 1: to get talking serious, like we need to talk about
- 37:11Speaker 1: your will and like your living trust and like do
- 37:14Speaker 1: the things we need to do, you know. But like
- 37:17Speaker 1: sometimes I don't want just someone to come pummel me,
- 37:19Speaker 1: like let's.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Joke, let's have a good time, because he thinks are
- 37:22Speaker 2: so heavy.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Yeah, So I was like, no, I don't. I don't
- 37:25Speaker 2: think John Minnett like that, Like, yeah, don't don't do
- 37:28Speaker 2: this to me right now. I'm a fuck you up.
- 37:30Speaker 2: I was really pissed.
- 37:32Speaker 1: And then is coming from I know it was, and
- 37:34Speaker 1: it was everywhere, like that day that was everywhere, and
- 37:38Speaker 1: so was me getting in an altercation. I've been for
- 37:40Speaker 1: the dogs.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like telling you, we're the most calm
- 37:42Speaker 2: person in the entire.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I was like, can I not get a fucking break.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I'm not even trying to fight with anyone.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Even what you did in your past life to deserve
- 37:49Speaker 2: all this chaos, I.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Must have done some fucked up shit.
- 38:05Speaker 2: So do you think that you you're okay? So we're
- 38:08Speaker 2: talking about you being in the public eye. I think
- 38:10Speaker 2: you've been in the public eye since you were young.
- 38:12Speaker 2: So you know, what, do you have any new friends? No?
- 38:16Speaker 1: No, I keep the same friend I mean I have
- 38:18Speaker 1: my most recent set of friends, our friends that I
- 38:21Speaker 1: met and Mommy and Me with Slate. Okay, so because
- 38:24Speaker 1: that's when you're you know, that's over ten years ago.
- 38:27Speaker 1: It's because you have a big life change, and there were.
- 38:30Speaker 2: People bond with women that are doing like Matt.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Was one of my fucking friends. What am I going
- 38:34Speaker 1: to do with him? With my kids?
- 38:36Speaker 2: What you were.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Ten years ago? Not in Mommy and Me.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Oh, I was like, you're and Mommy and me?
- 38:44Speaker 1: You have not Literally my brain I'm saying my current
- 38:48Speaker 1: friend group was askew.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Okay, I'm with it now.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Jeepers, I didn't know I was going to spell it
- 38:55Speaker 1: out on the pod. Now.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Sorry, Are there any friendships that got stronger because of
- 38:58Speaker 2: what you went through on the show, Yes, you're looking
- 39:01Speaker 2: at it. Yeah, and I think that you know, people,
- 39:09Speaker 2: a lot of people watch the show and they think
- 39:14Speaker 2: they know what the show is about or how you feel,
- 39:17Speaker 2: but that's not true. The only people who really know
- 39:20Speaker 2: what the show does to them are the women that
- 39:21Speaker 2: have been on the show. And you do form real
- 39:24Speaker 2: friendships when you were not. I mean, there's some people
- 39:28Speaker 2: that we've worked with it that not one not one iota.
- 39:33Speaker 1: But there's plenty of time where you form the friendships.
- 39:36Speaker 1: I would say we had some of our best laughs
- 39:39Speaker 1: on planes, of course. I mean, granted, our first time
- 39:42Speaker 1: we were filmed on a plane and that's when we
- 39:44Speaker 1: decided we didn't like each other.
- 39:45Speaker 2: But after that start, but after.
- 39:48Speaker 1: That, like our plane, right, because remember we would fly
- 39:53Speaker 1: thirty six hours to go somewhere for three days. Yes,
- 39:56Speaker 1: so we were by the time our flight home, we
- 39:59Speaker 1: were just like can I sit next to Erica?
- 40:02Speaker 2: Yeah? Can I just sit next to you? Like, do
- 40:04Speaker 2: you have any snack? Do you want this? People don't
- 40:08Speaker 2: realize that, and you kind of bond in those situations.
- 40:10Speaker 2: I remember when Durit this is before you joined the cast,
- 40:13Speaker 2: and I were not getting along in Hong Kong and
- 40:14Speaker 2: we had all just gotten rained on and we're all
- 40:17Speaker 2: sitting in the back of this mini van and she
- 40:19Speaker 2: had the poncho and she went just like, you know,
- 40:22Speaker 2: like I was like thank you, you know, like we
- 40:25Speaker 2: were not gonna here.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I was like you like, no, you would do that
- 40:30Speaker 1: too with Tom's because I'd always get carsick. Eric would
- 40:34Speaker 1: be like, you didn't bring him again, and I was
- 40:36Speaker 1: like no, and you'd be.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Like, yes, here are your fucking tongues and fucking pregnant woman.
- 40:43Speaker 2: And I was always fascinating. I have to roll down
- 40:45Speaker 2: the window. I'm so hot, like you were sick. I
- 40:49Speaker 2: was impressed. I want to tell everybody doing that.
- 40:53Speaker 1: I want to tell everybody about friendships. Sprinter van I said,
- 40:56Speaker 1: we made friendships and planes, not sprinter vans. Sprinter Vans
- 41:00Speaker 1: is where you find the world. If they used all
- 41:02Speaker 1: the footage from the sprinter vans, all.
- 41:04Speaker 2: The cussing out that we did of everybody.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Everyone, I mean, it didn't matter if it was one
- 41:09Speaker 1: of us, if it was one.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Of production, if it was anybody. Just the level of
- 41:14Speaker 2: anger in a sprinter van. No.
- 41:16Speaker 1: We would get in and would be like, how long
- 41:18Speaker 1: to the horse riding that we're doing, and they'd be
- 41:20Speaker 1: like seventy two minutes and I'd be like, don't act
- 41:23Speaker 1: like that's not more than an hour, because you said
- 41:25Speaker 1: seventy two you know.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Like it was very tough. We sprinter vans do not
- 41:31Speaker 2: do something wrong with them.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Why they need to get better recording in there, because
- 41:34Speaker 1: that is they don't. Yes, you know what it will
- 41:37Speaker 1: they get down?
- 41:38Speaker 2: No, do not get better recording in the sprinter van.
- 41:41Speaker 1: I appreciate Erica is not her friendliest and a sprinter
- 41:45Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 41:45Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 41:46Speaker 1: She might need more tumps and other things.
- 41:49Speaker 2: I need lots of other things. The sprinter vans make
- 41:53Speaker 2: me wild. I don't know what it is. I just
- 41:55Speaker 2: I think because the seats are so uncomfortable.
- 41:57Speaker 1: And if you have to sit backwards, or if you're
- 41:59Speaker 1: late and you have to sit said someone you don't like,
- 42:03Speaker 1: and then you're like, they're not going to use this anyway,
- 42:06Speaker 1: and now this person doesn't want to talk.
- 42:07Speaker 2: But I you know, it's funny because we were talking
- 42:10Speaker 2: at the reunion about how d was smoking a sig
- 42:12Speaker 2: in the car and Kyle said, oh, you never thought
- 42:15Speaker 2: that they'd use that, and I go, oh, they use.
- 42:17Speaker 2: I assume everything they'll use, like.
- 42:22Speaker 1: And this isn't to dog out to read. I love
- 42:24Speaker 1: to read, and I've smoked a sig myself, or a
- 42:26Speaker 1: vape or whatever.
- 42:28Speaker 2: You know, the first time I saw you smoking was
- 42:30Speaker 2: with the crew and Provence when you were drunk. I
- 42:32Speaker 2: didn't know Teddy drunk smoke. I didn't know Teddy smoked
- 42:36Speaker 2: until I caught her out back in France smoking. I
- 42:40Speaker 2: was like, oh, misfitness. She watched Miss Lifestyle.
- 42:46Speaker 1: And I was great. I'm like, I was curious because
- 42:50Speaker 1: the only person that actually carried six what were dread
- 42:55Speaker 1: And I went to smoking parliaments and no, hers are
- 42:58Speaker 1: parliament lights snow with whatever menthols.
- 43:03Speaker 2: And so I'm like, wow, she smokes American spirits, but
- 43:06Speaker 2: I know she smoked pfunks.
- 43:08Speaker 1: So I had to move on from her, and I
- 43:09Speaker 1: went to the crew andmy, does anyone have a cigarette
- 43:11Speaker 1: that doesn't have menthol in it?
- 43:13Speaker 2: I saw you back there smoking in a skirt and drunk,
- 43:16Speaker 2: and I was like, what the fuck part of the
- 43:18Speaker 2: show is this? I had no idea.
- 43:21Speaker 1: I mean even Chris walked out to yell at me,
- 43:24Speaker 1: like get back in there.
- 43:25Speaker 2: I know that's what I saw.
- 43:26Speaker 1: But that's why I never thought that they would use
- 43:29Speaker 1: to eat smoking on camera.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Because I was smoking with the camera. Man.
- 43:35Speaker 1: That's my point. Thank you Pablo for never sharing, Fuck
- 43:40Speaker 1: off Erica for sharing well whatever, but it's not why
- 43:43Speaker 1: I got the cancers. Guys, it's a different kind My metastaised.
- 43:48Speaker 2: You had this, do you know I saw your skin
- 43:49Speaker 2: cancer with that night in Vegas that we're talking about.
- 43:52Speaker 2: I saw it on your shoulder. I can tell you
- 43:54Speaker 2: what you're wearing, wearing a black romper. We were standing
- 43:57Speaker 2: on the balcony. It was at nighttime, it was the summertime,
- 44:00Speaker 2: were standing in the Venetian and I saw this and
- 44:02Speaker 2: I thought, oh my gosh, I wonder if those are
- 44:03Speaker 2: scars or something. I saw it. I was like the
- 44:06Speaker 2: first time I'd ever met. I was like, what is
- 44:07Speaker 2: that on her sid?
- 44:08Speaker 1: Because what year was the first year that I came
- 44:11Speaker 1: on What I'm trying to remember.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Like, so I did season six, You came on season seven,
- 44:16Speaker 2: and I think he went season eight.
- 44:18Speaker 1: That was probably two thousand and seven.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Huh, seventeen, two thousand seventeen. Still not good with dates,
- 44:26Speaker 1: still not good. Nineteen ninety, nineteen ninety nine.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Thought it was nineteen ninety nine for a long time
- 44:31Speaker 2: here recently.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Nineteen ninety the whole time I was in the hospital,
- 44:35Speaker 1: I was like nine nine.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Good year.
- 44:36Speaker 1: The year I graduated high school.
- 44:37Speaker 2: That's what it is.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Eighty nine graduated high school.
- 44:43Speaker 2: You didn't graduate high school barely? Oh you did, I'm saying,
- 44:47Speaker 2: did you get kicked down.
- 44:49Speaker 1: No, I just wanted to go to the horse shows
- 44:50Speaker 1: at the end. No, I would you know what, didn't
- 44:54Speaker 1: make it to college.
- 44:55Speaker 2: But you guys do it just fining.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Keep tuning in to Diamonds in the Rough because, and
- 45:00Speaker 1: though it may be more rough than diamonds, half the
- 45:02Speaker 1: time when you listen to us, we're doing our best.
- 45:04Speaker 2: We're having a great time. I'm just happy to spend
- 45:06Speaker 2: the time with you and have you smiling and laughing.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I know, and I'm glad we're friends. It's brilliant.
- 45:11Speaker 1: But let's fight next week. No, what can we fight
- 45:14Speaker 1: with about?
- 45:15Speaker 2: Fighting about anything with you?
- 45:16Speaker 1: I'm trying to think what I could do to really
- 45:18Speaker 1: piss you off. No, I can pull your eyelash off.
- 45:20Speaker 1: That would piss you off.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Here, do it right now. I'm not mad, Oh, Mike.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I'm mad because I didn't put any on today. Well, thanks, guys,
- 45:29Speaker 1: tune in.
- 45:30Speaker 2: So there's my in the woods. I love you.
- 45:35Speaker 1: All we need is some kind of velvet outfit and
- 45:38Speaker 1: we're good to go.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Love you, love you, Bye bye, guys.
