- The Finance Pastor: Hello everyone, this is Felix Garcia, aka the Finance Pastor, and what an honor and a privilege it is to be welcome into your home and what another episode of the Finance Pastor Show. And we are seeing different movements in the stock market. The stock market is retracing from the couple of days that we've had on the upside, and we are seeing that it is battling. The SP 500 is battling between that 7800 mark. breaks it and then it keeps coming right back down. It is it a place of imbalance and that's what we're seeing right now. Where many people are either bullish on America or you have a lot of short sellers that are bearish on what the AI movement has been doing and they're expecting this stock market to fall. One can argue on both sides. It depends on whose side you're on And I try to look at facts, I try to look at numbers, and then we use a fancy word that we learned in in grade school, which is is a hypothesis, which is an educated guess. So we look at what the economy is doing. We also, as Christians, we look at from a biblical perspective is what does God say about money? And when you deal with God and money, there's a lot of feelings, especially from From people who come from the word of faith movement. You have the name it and claim it, which is I'm not for the prosperity message, and then you have an an extreme on the ut other side that God wants you to be broke, and I'm not with the poverty gospel either. Now, Adam and Eve was banished from the Garden of Eden. Their punishment was banishment. the f the the crop will will now yield any fruit to them. And God to me is his blessing is this is by the sweat of your brow, the word says you'll eat bread. My opinion, that's God's blessing. And from a logical perspective, it's God letting me know that I need to work. And there's many books, there's many gurus out there that trash having a job. The nine to five, you hear the same thing. What does job mean? Just overbroke. But actually, your job is actually your first investor. Many people don't see that. Your job is your first investor. When God think of your job as the talent that God has given you, many of your geniuses in your place of work. Others, your salary dictates where you're at. You start looking at that. Where you you can bloom where you're planted. And many of you here, you have to look at your job as an investment your first investor, where you can take the proceeds and put that into good investments, such as the stock market, such as a side business, such as real estate. And there's a lot of things that you can do. Now, many people have to understand this. You have to count the cost of what it takes to build these certain things, whether it's education, whether it's time and effort, whether it is your your sweat labor, your physical, you gotta do labor doing that. And many business owners can go out and say, Hey, there's a lot of struggle. There's days where I don't know if I'ma make payroll. There's other days where I am stressed out. And that's the true life of a business owner. And Th these books has glamorized like entrepreneurship and I get it, it's a fancy word. I mean I some people may put me in that category. But I look at this as hey, there's no overnight money in the God's equation. You have to work. There is good times and there is bad times. I've had great years and even the last year and a half have been tough. Anyone who does real estate. Has you're not flipping the same amount of houses you were in 21 and 22. You know, the stock market hasn't been predictable as it has been in many other years. So you're starting to see that the the level field or the field has changed dramatically. Is what worked several years ago is not working now. What was, hey, slam dunk, yo, you just put your money here and you'll grow. It's not the same thing anymore. So with the economy changing, you have to evolve your strategy. Now, I'm an advocate for the long game. What do I mean? I'm okay with buying and holding. That's where most wealth is built. I learned this late. And hear me out, I learned this late. I wanted to make the quick dollar. like trading futures, from flipping houses, wholesale, tr from from wholesaling, doing all this thing. And hear me out. The problem is that is your lifestyle gets bigger, but the t the the seasons and the dryness of when those like real estate dries up, the the stock market doesn't always give you what you expect it to give. And where you start seeing that sometimes you can feel like you're you're in the casino, and the longer you stay on the table, you end up losing money. Same thing with futures, same thing with options. The longer you stay on the table, the longer you use money. I'm not saying that I'm perfect, but this is from experience that I've you that I have teaching you from what I've done and how much I've lost in the past. What I have seen work is long-term stocks, covered calls, you just hitting base hits, and a protective put or the technical name for a collar. If you wanna look up who's the best trader in this type of strategy, it's Mark Cuban. If you wanna see how one of the ways he increases his wealth, because he's a smart man, I I gotta you gotta give this brother his flowers. That's why in the Shark Tank everybody respects him because of the he's got ducats. He's a smart man. So you look at how he pr uses options as a protection. Many people who day trade options, many people who day trade futures, if you stay long enough in the game and long enough in the saddle, you end up losing. Just like a gambler, just like Vegas. The odds are not stacked again is not stacked for you. They're stacked against you. Now, if your long term stocks, dividend stock, good stocks with actual fundamentals like income that can back up the price of the stocks, that's a different story. Cause they are stocks that are just all hype. That one day will get beat up and you'll never recover your money. There is that. So that's where numbers don't lie. You see, the first five books of the Bible that God gave to his people, 20% of it dealt with numbers. Consider this, saints. God wanted you to count so bad. He wanted to be so obvious that he called in numbers. God wants you to count. Consider this. I want to buy a Louis Vuitton purse, but I want to pay a TJ Maxx price. Stocks is about price. Stocks is about buying low, selling high. But what is high? What is low? And that's where learning cycles in the stock market. Nothing goes straight up. Think of your own life, my life, your life. Has everything coasted straight through? No, you've had issues through it. Same thing. These stocks mirror real life. Whether it's bad leadership, whether it's economic, either that they didn't change with the times, and you start seeing. That if you look at a company from a financial standpoint, just like Warren Buffett has taught each and many of us, you can do well. I spend a lot of time watching videos of the teachings of Charlie Munger. The sage wisdom that this brother had. Warren Buffett, I feel the same. I know he's the hee hee and ha ha. Uncle Buffett, but he is so smart. And he, if you're a long term investor, he can help navigate through times of uncertainty. Right now is a sign is a time of uncertainty. And those are the things as you look at people who have succeeded the correct way. Now, from a biblical and a Bible type of way. There's many people that have an issue when you mention God and money. And and I get that. There's a lot of feelings that many people have. Some people have been scammed. Some people have felt like like they were taken advantage of because of their faith. And there are people that do that. And I'm not a name it and claim it. I'm a work and and you see the harvest happens. And I'm also a realist that seven out of ten businesses fail. There's no guarantees in life. The only guarantee that we have is death and taxes. Even eternal salvation is not a guarantee. So there's no really guarantees in life. But what one have seen is that if one and the Bible's very good about this, if one plays the long term, if one sets up like look at the first wealth transfer ever recorded in the Bible, you find it in between Genesis thirty-six and forty-eight, which is the story between Pharaoh and Joseph. Where God gave Pharaoh the visions of seven healthy years, seven lean years, seven healthy cows, seven lean cows. And you see that Joseph was able to come into Pharaoh and give the interpretation of what was about to come to pass. And we start seeing that God has found favor in Joseph, where he not only told them, God has surely given Pharaoh what he's about to do, and he will surely do it. But he gave them a plan. Now, if you look at it, they told him store one-fifth of the grain and all the wheat in all of Egypt and put them in storehouses during the seven years of plenty. So scripture says, so during the seven years of lack, it says Egypt will not be forgotten. So we look at that. And we start seeing that the first wealth transfer happened in Egypt. That is recorded in scripture. Now, their version of that is our version of the futures market, stock market per se, but it's the futures market. Because where is wheat, sugar, oil, gas, metals, rare earths, where is all that traded at? In the futures market. If there is a global crisis. You can see that one of the biggest wealth transfers in is in the futures market. That's what I like using futures for uncertainty. For hey, if something happens, I can jump in on the action and protect myself. That's why I like futures. Trading it every day, Let's see. you futures traders understand that there's so much emotional, like you go through all these emotions about I gotta make money today, I gotta make money. One day you eat in fillet mignon, next minute you're eating, you know, 99 value meals, 99 cents. So that's how it is with futures market. And anyone who has traded before knows exactly what I'm talking about. It sounds good. All the gurus sound great on YouTube saying, you're gonna make X amount of money. yeah, but it's just like the casino. The longer you stay at the table, the longer you lose. I've been there folks, speaking from experience. That's why I like the long term. Now you use futures and and options as the instruments that they're designed to do, which is protection, insurance. And if you find a good pattern Write it down, write it up, whatever it is. That's what it what it's meant to mean. And I still believe in the nine of five job, which many gurus do not like. They advocate for this pie in the sky life that really doesn't exist. Every rich person that I've come in contact with, every single one of them works. Every single one of them works, which is I I I I look at the expectations that people have is really dumb. Like many people think that if you have money, you don't do nothing. I mean, which is really stupid. And I'm here to break down those cycles because that is not true. Every rich person I I've met works. The only people that ha I've met that have money that don't work is recently recent millionaires, people who've never had money before. And then the money dries out. Sports players, actors, these are the people that are the fake rich people. Because it's true what they say. Once they get this money, the habits of money don't change. You That's why the lottery winner after they received the lottery within seven years are worse off than when they were before they got the money. Money doesn't make you smart. You could still be stupid and have money. And I've been both. Not trying to disrespect anybody. But you could still be stupid and have money. So the long game, it's where it's at. If you want to do something great in business, that's where you build the best wealth. Biggest wealth companies are like NVIDIA, Amazon, Tesla, SpaceX. Trade not even real estate you could get in that. You would have to have a lot of money in real estate to get to those levels. So let's look at it. It's the ha kind of like a halftime report, but let's look at what's happening. Let's get at Netflix. So I like this stock right here. I've been bullish on Netflix for quite a while. Many people probably are tired of me of talking about Netflix. I'm still a little down in my position, but I'm still bullish. You've had a lot of activity in this area right here in the 65-64 area that you have a lot of buying here. Now, Pershing Square Bill Ackman has been touted as buying more share. Of this company, and you have to remember this. When a big shark like that is buying, they don't buy all at once. They buy it over time. I would expect this start to kind of draw back and push back down. If you're the patient investor, like I'm the I've been talking about, I'm not giving you financial advice, but this could be. I'm saying this could be something you can add into your portfolio. I'm huge on Netflix. It's still a profitable company with a streaming service. Let's look at it's kind of what is it? It's in the afternoon session. So you're gonna start seeing a lot of people that are coming back from lunch. And you're gonna see either the S P be pushed down even further. And it is really testing the simple day moving average that I have here. If it stays above it, I mean this could be A stair step up where I might have to start changing directions. because I am bullish on America, but the SP right right now is currently above the simple day moving average. The day's not over. Could it have a couple of days down? The answer is yes. This is what I've been saying. This SP has been tested in that 7800 range, it is testing that range. If it stays above it, we are going to the 8,000, obviously. If it doesn't, that's where we see that the stock market could fall down to that 7300, that 7250 mark. If it comes down and we get bad news. Now, the same thing can be said if we get great news, which is it is gonna power through that 8,000 mark. That is gonna be very pivotal for the stock market. Now The biggest thing that we have against us is the bond yield. If the bond yields are really rising, it really causes a problem for the stock market because it's just it's a it's supposed to be inverse. The lower the bond yield, the better the stock market is. And we're starting to see that we are having diff different indicators give us different information. And that's why you see a lot of confusion. That's why you start seeing the people who look at the buffet indicator. We're close to, not right there, but we're close to the dot-com crash, of excuse me, of the 08 crash, which was at the 44 level. We're currently at the 41 level. If you look at the buffet indicator of a downturn. Now We as Americans, or this administration, I should probably say, we are in a race with China where if the two countries, you could say, are played plain roulette. If we award a casino, the United States and China are plain roulette. The United States has all their chips on black. And they're both betting on three main things. Number one. Cryptocurrency, number two, energy, and number three, AI. Whichever those two superpowers wins. And it almost seems like you gotta win all three. There's no two or or two out of three. No, it has to win all three because all three rely on each other. You need AI to power the chip industry. you need energy to power the AI. And cryptocurrency is the future. Even scripture talks about we will come into a one world order. Is it Bitcoin? I don't know. Is it XRP? I don't know. Is it Solana? I don't know. Is it Ethereum? I don't know. But what I do know that Scripture is very clear on that. I just try to look as an investor and place my money where I think it could be. Can I spread it around between different tokens? Absolutely. Absolutely. There's nothing wrong with that. But I also, as an investor, I look at this as this is speculation. Speculation means that I'm okay with losing. That's what you really gotta ask yourself. Can you use money that you're willing to lose and you're okay with it? That's not gonna take money off. Or food off your table, money from your rent. That's the the questions you have to ask. So if everything, if you're mortgaging your home, if you're like liquidating everything, I would say be cautious. Be cautious. Be cautious. I'm not saying that you don't take it a risk as an investor. Those are two different things. And I think you have to have wisdom in doing that. Sometimes as a business owner, you gotta put all the chips on the table. There's no way around that. And some of you as a business owner, I get it. If I had a 10% chance to make 10,000 X, I would take that that risk too. So, but that's the risk we take as entrepreneurs as business owners. And I've taken risks where I've lost everything. I've had to start over twice. Like, no joke, start over twice. twice, lost a home. The entrepreneur life is not for the faint of heart. If you're gonna just sometimes I've had to humble myself. I've had to take odd jobs just to make ends meet. But God has always been faithful. I remember going back and and taking menial jobs just to just to survive. But God has always been faithful and just as the life of an entrepreneur that's real talk right there. Any entrepreneurs, if you have stories that you can say, hey, I've had a tough season, but I've seen God work miracles, put that in the comments. Let other people see what God has done in your life. I've had tough seasons, like many of you here. I've had so many tough seasons. And some days I've cried, like, Lord, what what did I do to deserve this? Like I've actually asked myself, God, do you hate me? You know, I know you do everything because you love me, but can you love me a little less? Just a little less. I've I've been through those seasons, but I know God is just. I know God is true. He's faithful to deliver me. And sometimes I gotta keep repeating that to myself. I'm learning a new thing and maybe you I'm alone on this, but I'm learning about forgiveness. And the last few months I've I've I've put out a lot of fires in my life. Just and sometimes I got the New York in me and I could be very brash and very direct. And sometimes that that's a little problem. So Brother Garcia can be a little direct, but I don't like line of people. That's one thing is at least you know I won't lie to you or make you wonder how how I feel. I I'll let you know. Very up front. NASDAQ again, it is it kind of peaked down the the the simple moving day average. I'm believing this thing is gonna cross down. I I really do believe that. If the NASDAQ covet goes down, you can see it come back down to this twenty-nine range. I'm also if it comes and that's if it does, I could see it fill this little gap right here, small little gap in this 29,000 range. But you have to expect that. We're at war. We have economic news that is coming right before the election. And honestly, I think we're gonna be a surprise in the election this cycle. I don't think Republicans have it down packed and they're gonna have a slam dunk win. And I think a lot of Democrats there's a lot of bad apples, but there's a lot of great candidates in the Democratic Party. And there's also a lot of bad actors in the Republican Party and there's great ones too. And I'm not feeling with a lot of this gun ho on everything. I want people that are that are for people. I mean, just for people. Love on people. America's a great place. And I love this this great. This great country. I've gotten to travel all over the I've been to every 50 states. And I want to say this. I know many people trash California. They trash Washington. They trash New York. I'm from there. And they trash Boston. And I live in the Southern state, but I've lived here for over 24 years in Tennessee. And I love Tennessee. But I could tell you this there's a lot of God fearing people in California. There's a lot of God fearing people in Washington State. There's a lot of God fearing people in New York that really do stand up for righteousness. And I applaud them. You know what? Because we serve a God that's not Republican and not Democrat. We serve a God that is the lamb of glory, the lamb that was sa slain for our transgressions. We serve that. And that's the party I want to participate in. Is in the lambs party because after all is said and done, every one of us is gonna have to give an account to God on that one day. We all have to give an account to God. And what am I gonna tell him? I didn't like my neighbor because he was Democrat, or I didn't like my neighbor because they were Republican, or I didn't like my neighbor because they were douchebag. That's gonna be a faithful day. And I'm preaching to me here too. It's not just for you guys. God has been working on me, on forgiveness, on a lot of things. And there's things that I'm the type of person that I can hold on to a grudge. Like many of you. And there's grudges that I've had for 19 years. God is kind of just working away on me. And some for two or three years, too. So pray for me, I'll pray for you. So definitely let's go back. Let's look at the NASDAQ if it continues to fall. I am bearish right now on the Dow Jones. The Dow Jones actually is just under the simple day moving average. And I'm guessing we're gonna have a short little blip on the radar going down. unless there's some major news that's gonna propel this stock market forward, I I don't see it. But we're seeing a lot of movement. Apple's actually been looking pretty decent today, is up three dollars and thirteen cents. again, I've talked about Apple, it's in my portfolio. I am bearish on Tesla right now. I've been talking about this. It had a decent move up, which kind of messed up my option spread, but I'm in a January option. I'm gonna run this out to the earnings. I don't think we I don't think Tesla is gonna report great earnings. Now again, I could be wrong. this is an option play that I'm willing to take a chance. Now, I'm also bullish on SpaceX, so I own shares. So I'm doing both. So I'm b I'm bearish on Elon, but I'm also bullish on Elon. So I have a love hate relationship with Tesla. I don't like the electric car. I I I'm gonna be very honest. I don't like the electric car. I do like the technology. I do like the possibilities. Will we fully go electric? maybe. But then you look at snowy days, rain. I mean, you want a gas guzzler. You want a gas guzzler. Like the people in Mountain Rangers. Electricity is not there yet. So could it be then twenty, thirty years? Perhaps. I it could be. But right now is it needs to emulate gas guzzling, the reliability. Because once you just running down the road and you're just pedal to the metal, it's gonna drain drain the battery and you're done. I mean you're done. If you're trying to get out of a ditch, you're using electric power, you Are gonna just ram that that battery. So many people who drive electric can echo those statements. Again, Netflix, again, I've been talking about this stock. I love this stock. I'm in it. I'm also long term, I'm currently down on this stock. just I'm just doing dollar cost averaging right now. So I'm long term, I believe this stock long term will go up, but that's opinion and I'm not giving you financial advice. Let's go at a couple of others and then we'll just call this it. Ethereum, man, Bitcoin has just gotten beat up. Ethereum's not doing well. Bitcoin again, same, almost the same thing. I would look into this zone right here. This 78, 75,000 if Bitcoin comes down. This could be a range if you want to load up on Bitcoin. Ethereum is almost doing the same thing. This is a consolidation. If you do this, and let me draw it here. This range right here on Ethereum, this could be Either I mean you can almost put this down here too. So this could be a place where possibly may be a good buy again. I got in around this range. This is where I started buying more Ethereum and just started buying more tokens here. I don't have a whole lot. I'm not a wheel-in dealer, I'm just an average investor. Use my nine to five job money to invest in the stock market. with this one, I I'm looking at it long term. What could it be? Could this be a di nice little buy range, I believe so. but also cautiously it's speculation and everyone has to assess can you manage those risks? And those are things that not everybody can do. Let's see where NVIDIA kind of beat up today. it just had a nice run over the last few days of the last few months actually. But you're looking at this Nvidia's had a nice run. I mean, it's from that 180 range. I mean, it just took off. Nice, it came back down, and you're starting to see a nice back buyback up. If NVIDIA falls back down, to me, it's more opportunity. This is an opinion on this stock here. Could it go back to a thousand? The answer is it depends. Generally, and this is generally when most stocks. go and and do a stock split, generally they go back to the price where they split from and it usually takes anywhere from two to five years, roughly. What you're seeing that if you're buying stock, this could and it goes to a thousand, you could see the stock do a reverse split again. It could be a three for one like it did last time, or if it hits a top, it could be a four for one. Everything is different. But if this stock becomes very valuable, and not only the commitments that you have from a lot of different other companies, if they come to pass, like you're starting to see the deal that Elon Musk is gonna try to raise money to buy. $40 billion worth of chips for NVIDIA, you have to look at those chips are not going to be delivered in two or three years. It's like four to five years. So you look at it from the long term, and that's where you start seeing is okay, am I buying it at the the lowest price the answers? No. Is it is it impossible? But can you over time buy stock, good stocks, and then buy over time? That's what my that's what I'm advocating. Kit for that's what I'm telling people. Consider that that's what I'm talking about investing for the long term, that's what I'm looking at. Is the Gary V play. Gary V is another Jets fan. So Gary V, man, thank you for all the insights that you give for social media. I love that you're a Jets fan and I'm loyal to a point to the Jets, but that it is what it is. But I'm doing what I love. let's look at Micron. And Micron is another stock that has just taken off this whole year. If you've been in this stock, you are loving it because you have done very Well, if you got in during the last early of this year. So if you were in it in February, you've done well. 300, you've crushed it. Now, this stock right here is in a place where the profitability is there. That's the good thing. I look at is does the company make money at the end of the day? You can love the hype, you can love the hey, what it could do, but at the end of the day. Day is this numbers don't lie. Do you make a profit? Micron does. Micron does, so does NVIDIA, so does Apple. They have money where they make consistent, they're like an insurance company, consistent premiums coming in, and it's through the products that they that they sell and offer. So This is one that I would look at. I'm not saying go invest everything, but even in the future, even if you're doing this is an expensive stock, it's not for everyone. And this is where you see certain people may do option plays on this. This one, if you're right, you're right. If you're wrong, you're gonna be wrong. So that's where you you balance that. If you're gonna trade a thousand, I'm I'd rather just put a thousand and buy the stock. So just do that. So I know it's not for everyone, it is an expensive stock. I'm not oblivious. To that. But you look at what the stock market is gonna do today, we don't know, but we do know that many people have their sights on many great companies. I want to go look at Oracle. I had a few of my people ask me about Oracle stock right now, and I want to say this I kind of like this stock right now. See, like these down days, I love them. To me, this is a great down day, which is there's a lot of things that Larry Ellison that I you have to respect as a business person. He's been in the the in crowd in Silicon Valley for gotten like for 30 something years, probably longer than that. And you have to look at Oracle is still a big player in this space. Yes, it has gotten beat up. Yes, it has gotten its butt-handed to it. But it is still a viable company. So I'm not saying go buy Oracle stock everything right now. Consider it. You wanna buy a Louis Vuitton purse, but you wanna pay a TJ Maxx price for it. My opinion, this stock fits that criteria. This stock, if you look at it, has dropped over the the highs that it has. I mean, this was a $300 stock that has just gotten its beat up. And not only that, I want you to look at something. If you look at this stock long term, this line right here, it's where we're at right now. It's a strong move. Just just look at it from that perspective. So I'm gonna just draw here, it's not gonna be perfect. Now this is going to twenty twenty four. So give us an overview. I'm not saying that this is it, and I'm very careful because reading a stock market chart is subjective. It's very subjective. It's like someone could look at a canvas and come out with a different interpretation. So I'm not saying I'm right, but I'm look at it is where it's at right now, there's a history with this stock that this is a place where many people want to buy. But one can argue that hey, if this is a stock that if it hits and you play it right. Could this be the stock that next year is the 3X, 4X, that does what AMD does, that does what MU does. And that could be it. And and the one thing that that helps this company is the connections that Larry Ellison has. Point blank. He's got connections to this administration and the former administration. Sometimes as a CEO, you gotta be a chameleon. I mean, you look at Zuckerberg, you look at Google, they all buddy buddy with Trump now. You know, so it's business, you know, it it is what it is. I mean, it's I guess capitalism. I've I guess all of a sudden everyone loves loves it when there's money involved. I get it. It it makes things go wrong. I'm not oblivious to it. But one would have to look at okay, Larry Ellison, could this be a play where hey, this still has viability? And I think it does. he's a smart man. And not only this, he's involved well, at least family members involved in that paramount discovery deal. They're gonna need servers, man. They're gonna need the Ericals. Equipment. So I my opinion. This is opinion. I'm bullish on this stock, and this one I may. And I'm up and I'm not giving you advice, but I'm gonna add this into my portfolio. I don't own any shares right now. I wanna be honest with that. But I believe that this one I might start adding to my portfolio, even if it's little by little. Even if buying 10 shares at a time, I'm gonna do it. So I'm looking at this stock. Oracle might be something in the future, but I'm definitely looking at what could be next. also believing that there's gonna be news that's gonna be ch taking the market either either to good heights or we could see some new lows. So again I will say this. I'm bullish on America. I'm bullish on this country. I'm not that bullish on this administration, but I'm also believed that they're great people in the United States. I get to travel this great country and I meet a lot of great w men and women of God. Like I really do. Like I know that California has people that love him. Wyoming has people that love him. Tennessee has people that love God. New York has people that love God. And maybe we just need to be a little bit more kind to each other. That's all. Just a little bit more kind. Kindness, I I can be more kind. And and I think all of us, if we do our little part, we could get a lot of great stuff done. So it was an amazing talking to you guys for a little bit, couple of minutes here. Let's see what the stock market does. I look forward to doing more content. If you have any questions, just put it in the comments and I'll be sure to add that. Until next time.
