- 1:55Speaker 9: I think for a while you were just j period
- 1:58Speaker 9: yeah that was.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Your artistic name i mean it's still that's still the
- 2:02Speaker 2: name you know like i don't go with the first
- 2:04Speaker 2: name so much it's the biblical name that was bestowed
- 2:08Speaker 2: upon me years ago.
- 2:08Speaker 9: I didn't choose that name it was forced upon.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Me i mean it's it's your name so i got
- 2:15Speaker 2: a name i got a name right jim croce's He
- 2:19Speaker 2: got a name.
- 2:19Speaker 12: I have a name, too.
- 2:20Speaker 9: So, if you didn't remember from previous episodes, you're actually
- 2:24Speaker 9: musically inclined, which is why you're here this week.
- 2:27Speaker 2: This is true. This is true. I don't even watch movies, actually.
- 2:30Speaker 9: You've seen a handful.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I've watched a couple Disney movies when I was a
- 2:34Speaker 2: kid that was.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Also forced upon me.
- 2:36Speaker 12: That's why you're messed up. All right. Disney will do
- 2:38Speaker 12: that to kids.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Too many times watching Aladdin 4.
- 2:44Speaker 9: Yeah, if you want to backtrack and do your homework,
- 2:47Speaker 9: if you haven't already heard, there's definitely, were you on
- 2:50Speaker 9: both the West, those first couple of West Fests?
- 2:52Speaker 2: We were in West Fests two and three. Yeah, we
- 2:57Speaker 2: were not at the first one. I briefly stopped into
- 3:02Speaker 2: the first one by accident, and I was with my
- 3:06Speaker 2: friend from out of town, and she had some friends.
- 3:08Speaker 2: They're like from a small town in Indiana. And blew
- 3:11Speaker 2: their mind. Uh, yeah, but like not in a good
- 3:14Speaker 2: way either. They like got kind of got pissed that
- 3:17Speaker 2: I like brought him. She got mad at me because
- 3:19Speaker 2: she's like, what the hell dude? She's like, I told
- 3:22Speaker 2: you I was bringing like some small town friends. Go
- 3:24Speaker 2: have a good time. The guy just, he only drinks
- 3:26Speaker 2: Bud Light and he brings this weird party because they
- 3:30Speaker 2: were all like, what the hell is going on? And
- 3:33Speaker 2: I was having a good time.
- 3:34Speaker 9: There's somebody dressed up like a fox over there. I
- 3:36Speaker 9: don't understand.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a freaky party.
- 3:38Speaker 9: They were dressed like Wes Anderson characters. That wasn't just
- 3:41Speaker 9: randomly picking an animal.
- 3:43Speaker 12: True.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And I liked it because it goes to prove that
- 3:48Speaker 2: Louisville kind of sets itself apart. There's Indianapolis, there's Cincinnati,
- 3:52Speaker 2: there's St. Louis, there's these Midwestern cities that all have
- 3:55Speaker 2: something kind of interesting to offer, but I've been to
- 3:58Speaker 2: a lot of them, and I've lived in several of them,
- 3:59Speaker 2: and Louisville is kind of a weird place.
- 4:02Speaker 9: It's its own weird place. And that is the thing.
- 4:05Speaker 9: It's not just that it's weird. There are plenty of
- 4:07Speaker 9: weird people and places out there, but it is.
- 4:09Speaker 12: Its own weird breed.
- 4:10Speaker 9: And it's also frustrating to be here doing things because
- 4:15Speaker 9: you cannot predict the weirdness. Because there are people that
- 4:19Speaker 9: will put stuff together that on paper looks great. They
- 4:22Speaker 9: will invest tons of money into this project, and then
- 4:25Speaker 9: people will be like, Gone. But then the strangest things
- 4:29Speaker 9: will find some sort of tread and take off and
- 4:32Speaker 9: become the weirdest thing that everybody in town loves. And
- 4:37Speaker 9: then two years later, it might not be cool anymore.
- 4:39Speaker 9: So it is impossible to predict the weirdness of this town.
- 4:44Speaker 9: One of those many, many things was.
- 4:47Speaker 12: This past couple of days is.
- 4:49Speaker 9: You were on stage rocking out to songs from Winona
- 4:53Speaker 9: Ryder-related projects? Correct. It had a real name, but that's...
- 4:58Speaker 9: Do we want to get our actual title for the event?
- 5:02Speaker 2: The event was Winona Ride or Die, right?
- 5:04Speaker 12: Yeah, I believe so.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I think that's what they came up with, and that's
- 5:08Speaker 2: what they stuck with. And, you know, I mean, personally,
- 5:11Speaker 2: it kind of was a ride or die situation. And
- 5:14Speaker 2: there were times I felt like maybe I was going
- 5:17Speaker 2: to die, and that would be okay. But I did it,
- 5:19Speaker 2: and I persevered. And I'm a professional, and I rose
- 5:22Speaker 2: above it. And we all did, and we all came
- 5:24Speaker 2: together and had a great night. It was a crazy party.
- 5:27Speaker 9: It was a crazy party. And, uh, again, I, I
- 5:30Speaker 9: like Heather put it all together. So once again, big
- 5:33Speaker 9: thanks to her for letting me come loiter around there
- 5:35Speaker 9: and for bringing you in and all of the things involved.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 9: And, um, but yeah, I mostly, I like when I
- 5:41Speaker 9: first heard about it, I'm like, I was more annoyed
- 5:43Speaker 9: than I'm like, why am I not already involved in this? Like,
- 5:46Speaker 9: this is the idea, like kind of the kind of
- 5:48Speaker 9: nonsense that I come up with and you stole my idea.
- 5:51Speaker 9: So I, I, I told her that. So he was like, well,
- 5:54Speaker 9: all right, I'm sorry. Like, And then eventually I'm like,
- 5:58Speaker 9: all right, well, can I still come to an episode
- 6:00Speaker 9: in conjunction with this idea? She was like, yeah, I guess,
- 6:03Speaker 9: you weirdo.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah, she said that she was, I mean, she was
- 6:06Speaker 2: flying by herself on most of this event. And, I mean,
- 6:10Speaker 2: those events are pretty financially strapping, I think, sometimes.
- 6:15Speaker 9: That's kind of why I don't do as many of
- 6:16Speaker 9: them as I used to.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's tough. Because I went in the hole on.
- 6:20Speaker 9: Pretty much every one of them. I love doing them,
- 6:24Speaker 9: but man, there's so much involved in every little step
- 6:29Speaker 9: of the way. Just getting flyers printed up and then
- 6:33Speaker 9: renting equipment.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Getting people to go out and put the flyers up.
- 6:36Speaker 9: That was always me. I couldn't even afford to do that.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I've definitely either done it myself or found some teenagers
- 6:42Speaker 2: and given them free entry. Maybe not teenagers, but just
- 6:45Speaker 2: some people that weren't as busy with their days. Because
- 6:49Speaker 2: it takes... many hours to do something like that to
- 6:52Speaker 2: drive all over town and yeah oh so.
- 6:55Speaker 9: Yeah it's i i've played that game myself so i
- 6:59Speaker 9: it was kind of uh nice to not have to
- 7:01Speaker 9: do all of it this time and just so thanks
- 7:03Speaker 9: to heather for doing all the work.
- 7:05Speaker 2: So yeah she worked very hard nice job.
- 7:07Speaker 12: Heather definitely So, how should we kick things off? Do
- 7:11Speaker 12: you want to get the.
- 7:12Speaker 9: Ball rolling with one of your more memorable moments of
- 7:15Speaker 9: the evening?
- 7:16Speaker 1: Oh, I.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Mean, we could go that route. I mean, probably my
- 7:21Speaker 2: most memorable moment was the end of the show.
- 7:24Speaker 9: We'll save that for the end. So, how do you
- 7:27Speaker 9: want to start this?
- 7:29Speaker 2: We'll start with maybe the beginning of the night and,
- 7:32Speaker 2: you know, like.
- 7:34Speaker 13: There were drag queens, there were drag kings that were
- 7:40Speaker 13: dancing and performing, and there was lots of people in
- 7:48Speaker 13: crazy costumes again.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Once again, they have a costume contest, so people really...
- 7:52Speaker 2: I'm surprised every time that people... Because personally, that's not
- 7:57Speaker 2: something that I would do if I weren't... performing yeah
- 8:01Speaker 2: i like dressing up and performing i i love that
- 8:04Speaker 2: a lot but like i don't know i mean maybe
- 8:06Speaker 2: there could be some kind of event that would get
- 8:08Speaker 2: me out but like normally i'm not gonna like what
- 8:11Speaker 2: am i doing this friday i'm just gonna like randomly
- 8:12Speaker 2: dress up like because some people looked amazing like really
- 8:17Speaker 2: good and i was like dang like that that must
- 8:19Speaker 2: have taken a lot of time like you must be
- 8:21Speaker 2: really passionate.
- 8:22Speaker 9: About that i sat there all night just amazed at
- 8:25Speaker 9: miss argentina Someone came as Miss Argentina from Beetlejuice, which
- 8:30Speaker 9: if you're a geek, you know, but she's I mean,
- 8:32Speaker 9: she's blue. The entirety of her body is blue due
- 8:37Speaker 9: to her unfortunate demise, her little accident. And yeah, she
- 8:42Speaker 9: I mean, the version that she did, the hair looked great.
- 8:45Speaker 12: You know, she her.
- 8:46Speaker 9: Costume looked exact. But the like I've seen people try
- 8:50Speaker 9: to do like body paint all over. And it is
- 8:53Speaker 9: usually a mess and it's patchy and you're missing spots
- 8:56Speaker 9: and it's flaking and falling off. None of that. Like,
- 8:59Speaker 9: I don't know how like what professional in this went through,
- 9:03Speaker 9: but like it looked perfect and kind of stayed that
- 9:06Speaker 9: way all night. She might have just been dead.
- 9:08Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 9:08Speaker 9: But yeah, there was that level of like. The entirety
- 9:12Speaker 9: of this person was painted a color.
- 9:14Speaker 2: That's crazy. I did not see a blue person.
- 9:16Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah. Very impressive.
- 9:19Speaker 9: So there was that level. And in general, I'm always
- 9:22Speaker 9: amazed by that. Because I don't do it at all.
- 9:25Speaker 9: Even for someone who goes to as many conventions as
- 9:27Speaker 9: I do.
- 9:27Speaker 12: I'm like, that's just a lot of work. So I
- 9:29Speaker 12: don't bother.
- 9:30Speaker 9: But it's funny. When we very first started, even pre-show,
- 9:34Speaker 9: in the early days, I was just putting together movie-themed
- 9:36Speaker 9: art shows. So those first couple, I was like, oh,
- 9:39Speaker 9: wouldn't it be funny if, you know, we said, hey,
- 9:41Speaker 9: come dressed as your favorite movie character.
- 9:43Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 9:44Speaker 9: That very first one, people did it. Like people showed
- 9:47Speaker 9: up and like a good amount, like way more than
- 9:51Speaker 9: I expected. And we're pretty well put together. So the
- 9:54Speaker 9: fact that, yeah, that happened even at a weird little
- 9:58Speaker 9: art show on like a Friday night. or you know
- 10:00Speaker 9: it's just like it's kind of strange how much people
- 10:03Speaker 9: will commit to some of these things.
- 10:05Speaker 2: For sure it was one of those kind of nights
- 10:07Speaker 2: totally totally lots of passionate winona fans out there that.
- 10:11Speaker 9: There are i've been one and i'm sure i will
- 10:14Speaker 9: go Way further into the details of my obsession with
- 10:17Speaker 9: her as we go on.
- 10:18Speaker 12: But again, we got sidetracked.
- 10:20Speaker 9: What was your song that we were leading into there?
- 10:23Speaker 2: Oh, let's see. So, I don't know. We opened with, well,
- 10:29Speaker 2: we opened with this theme from Stranger Things, which I'm
- 10:31Speaker 2: really glad that we did that because we didn't just
- 10:36Speaker 2: play it on the phone or something. I wanted to
- 10:38Speaker 2: get the whole band involved, but we already had a
- 10:40Speaker 2: lot on our plate and minimal time for rehearsal. And
- 10:43Speaker 2: so our bassist ended up bringing a synthesizer and a
- 10:48Speaker 2: sampling pad, and he ended up, like, working out all
- 10:53Speaker 2: of it. Actually, I was really impressed that he was
- 10:56Speaker 2: able to do it, and he played it on two
- 10:57Speaker 2: different keyboards. And so, like, that was pretty cool. I
- 11:01Speaker 2: don't know if that's worth, like, going in too much, but.
- 11:04Speaker 9: You can lead in with that, man.
- 11:06Speaker 5: Ladies and gentlemen, it is about that time. Give it
- 11:09Speaker 5: up for Nelly Pearl.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 11:15Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 13:14Speaker 2: And then, like, I don't know. I think Mambo Italiano
- 13:17Speaker 2: was a really good song for us that I didn't
- 13:20Speaker 2: know before we did this show.
- 13:23Speaker 9: That's... Actually, those two... Because, again, normally I'll... fixate a
- 13:28Speaker 9: little more on movies being the movie show that we
- 13:31Speaker 9: are we've gotten into a weird gray area in just
- 13:34Speaker 9: media in general the fact that like netflix series and
- 13:38Speaker 9: stuff has like changed like what what is a tv
- 13:42Speaker 9: show now when it never touches tv you know so
- 13:45Speaker 9: it's like it's series series is sort of its own
- 13:48Speaker 9: middle ground now so it's like Normally I'd set specific rules,
- 13:53Speaker 9: but I've said many times on this show, I've made
- 13:56Speaker 9: the show, I've made the rules, I can break them
- 13:58Speaker 9: as much as I want. So we'll throw in some
- 13:59Speaker 9: Stranger Things as we go on.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Some Mambo Italianos on Stranger Things?
- 14:03Speaker 9: No, that's the thing, I was going to say, that
- 14:05Speaker 9: was a good representation of a lot of what you
- 14:07Speaker 9: guys did, because going through it, it was like there
- 14:10Speaker 9: was a lot of Stranger Things, and a lot of mermaids. Now, granted,
- 14:13Speaker 9: I feel like you kind of have to be a
- 14:15Speaker 9: hardcore Winona geek to even remember Mermaids. That or you're
- 14:19Speaker 9: just really old. But, like, the fact that, like, I think, like,
- 14:24Speaker 9: four of your songs, like, of the lineup. I think
- 14:27Speaker 9: a lot of them were from, because I kept going
- 14:29Speaker 9: back and going, I think this is, like, most of
- 14:32Speaker 9: the basics I knew. But then there were a few
- 14:34Speaker 9: that I'm like, is that where it's from? And, yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 9: most of them were, including Mambo Italian.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Oh.
- 14:41Speaker 15: The girl went down to Napoli.
- 14:47Speaker 11: Because she missed the scenery The native dances and the
- 14:55Speaker 11: charming songs But wait a minute Something's.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Wrong Hey mumbo!
- 15:16Speaker 7: Mumbo Italiano! Hey mumbo! Mumbo Italiano!
- 15:22Speaker 2: Go, go, go!
- 15:24Speaker 7: You're mixed up, Sigigliano! Are you Calabrese? Do the mumbo
- 15:27Speaker 7: like a crazy! Hey mumbo! Go on a tenor tenor!
- 15:32Speaker 7: Hey mumbo!
- 15:35Speaker 15: Hey Mambo, Mambo Italiano Tryin' each ladder with the fuchsia
- 15:40Speaker 15: baccalata Hey goodbye.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I love the way you dance so fine We'll.
- 15:47Speaker 7: Take some of your advice by your side We'll learn
- 15:50Speaker 7: that about.
- 15:51Speaker 1: You If you're gonna be a square, you're waiting for
- 15:56Speaker 1: the cold weather Hey Mambo, Mambo Italiano Hey Mambo, Mambo
- 16:00Speaker 1: Italiano Mambo Joe.
- 16:03Speaker 11: You're gonna hit the beats and get the happy in
- 16:07Speaker 11: the feet.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I'm off the phone.
- 16:09Speaker 7: Hey, daddy, I know.
- 16:12Speaker 16: Let's hear it, Scott.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Shake it, baby, shake it, cause I love it when
- 16:18Speaker 1: you take a break.
- 16:34Speaker 15: Shake a shake, Senora, just like one.
- 16:38Speaker 1: On a toyah!
- 16:58Speaker 15: Hey Mambo Hey Mambo.
- 17:03Speaker 7: Hey Mambo.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Originally it was some rosemary clooney but dean martin did
- 17:30Speaker 3: it dean martin.
- 17:49Speaker 9: Although technically, I guess if we're plugging our hometown here,
- 17:52Speaker 9: I believe the Clooneys are from the state.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 17:56Speaker 9: We got that going for us.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Is she related to George?
- 17:58Speaker 12: I believe that's his aunt.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Really?
- 18:00Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That's cool. I looked her up, but I did not
- 18:02Speaker 2: see anything.
- 18:03Speaker 9: I don't know if she.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I wonder.
- 18:04Speaker 9: I know that's where he was, but I thought she had.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I'm looking at the soundtrack, and I kind of figured
- 18:09Speaker 2: once you said that we did four songs off of Mermaids,
- 18:12Speaker 2: I kind of figured what songs they were based on that.
- 18:15Speaker 2: And yeah, it's pretty funny.
- 18:16Speaker 17: Those.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I mean, that's some of my favorite kind of music.
- 18:19Speaker 2: That's what I listen to on my own a lot,
- 18:22Speaker 2: like my record collection and just kicking it on Spotify, too.
- 18:25Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Like Big Girls Don't Cry. That one was so much
- 18:28Speaker 2: fun to play, and we've never done much stuff from
- 18:30Speaker 2: that era. And so the Love is Strange one was
- 18:34Speaker 2: strange because love is fucking strange and awful sometimes. So
- 18:39Speaker 2: that one, we were going to do the original version
- 18:41Speaker 2: of that one, and I... Des did not want to
- 18:45Speaker 2: do that at all. So Paul McCartney did a version
- 18:50Speaker 2: of it with Wings. And so we ended up mashing
- 18:53Speaker 2: them up together and the bassist ended up singing the
- 18:56Speaker 2: lead male part. And they sang it like Mickey and Sylvia,
- 19:02Speaker 2: but we played it like Wings. And so that was
- 19:05Speaker 2: kind of fun. I still didn't want to play the
- 19:07Speaker 2: song because of personal reasons, but it was cool that
- 19:10Speaker 2: it did turn out to be something... My insistence to
- 19:13Speaker 2: not play it or to only play it like wings
- 19:17Speaker 2: turned into a cool mashup where we all compromised. And
- 19:20Speaker 2: they were like, fine, we'll do it like wings, but
- 19:21Speaker 2: we want to sing it like this. And I was like, whatever.
- 19:23Speaker 16: I have no choice.
- 19:24Speaker 2: So we ended up doing that, and it turned out
- 19:26Speaker 2: really cool.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Woo-wee!
- 19:27Speaker 18: All right, so this is Love is Strange, because goddamn
- 19:32Speaker 18: ain't it?
- 19:42Speaker 1: Thank you. Love, love is strength. Yeah, yeah. A lot
- 20:22Speaker 1: of people take it.
- 20:27Speaker 7: For a game. Eddie, you never want to quit.
- 20:43Speaker 1: No, no, I'm into you. Baby, you're not for me. Love,
- 20:53Speaker 1: love is strange. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 7: Love, love is strange.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Love, love is strange. Yeah, yeah. Lot of, lot of
- 21:19Speaker 1: people take it for a game. Love is strange Yeah,
- 21:43Speaker 1: yeah Love's not a thing Take it for a game
- 21:53Speaker 1: guitar solo Hey, Sylvia. Yes, Dickie.
- 22:21Speaker 19: How do you call your lover boy?
- 22:26Speaker 20: I'm a lover boy.
- 22:28Speaker 16: And if he doesn't answer?
- 22:30Speaker 7: A lover boy.
- 22:32Speaker 5: And if he still doesn't answer?
- 22:35Speaker 21: I simply say, Baby, my sweet baby Oh, baby, you're
- 22:45Speaker 21: the one.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Baby, my little baby Yeah, my sweet baby You're the one.
- 23:09Speaker 15: Oh, baby, my sweet baby, you're the one.
- 23:19Speaker 1: La, la, la, la.
- 23:22Speaker 7: La, love is strange.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. La, la, la, la, la, love, love is strange. La, la, la, la, la, la,
- 23:37Speaker 1: love is strange. La, la, la, la, la, la, love
- 23:44Speaker 1: is strange. La, la, la, la, la, love is strange.
- 24:38Speaker 16: Thank you so very much.
- 24:53Speaker 9: And an interesting spin on it, because just about anybody,
- 24:57Speaker 9: I feel like, if they were going to go with
- 24:59Speaker 9: that song and from a soundtrack, it's way more well-known
- 25:02Speaker 9: being in Dirty Dancing. So this pulls it from, cause yeah,
- 25:05Speaker 9: they're like mimicking it in the middle of dirty dancing.
- 25:08Speaker 9: So the fact that this is, yeah, that's, that's another
- 25:11Speaker 9: thing I love about this, this version of the show
- 25:13Speaker 9: is that even when you had a song featured from
- 25:16Speaker 9: this movie over here, when you talk about this soundtrack,
- 25:19Speaker 9: like it has totally different reasons to be on another
- 25:22Speaker 9: one and someone else may love it from this other
- 25:24Speaker 9: movie and only know it from this other movie. So
- 25:26Speaker 9: it like, we all bring this like different take on, on,
- 25:29Speaker 9: you know, where we know the song from and, how
- 25:31Speaker 9: it relates to that specific movie that it ended up in.
- 25:34Speaker 12: So that's always kind of a fun game.
- 25:36Speaker 2: It's been so long since I've seen dirty dancing. And like,
- 25:39Speaker 2: I didn't even really know the Mickey and Sylvia version.
- 25:42Speaker 2: It was when I heard it, I was like, I
- 25:44Speaker 2: always thought it was a Paul McCartney song. Cause that
- 25:47Speaker 2: was the only version I ever knew. It's on his
- 25:49Speaker 2: first album after he left the Beatles.
- 25:51Speaker 9: The Beatles broke up.
- 25:53Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Sorry to break it to you. But yeah, so I always,
- 25:58Speaker 2: I've listened to that for probably 15 years and, And
- 26:00Speaker 2: then heard this version, I was like, eh. I think
- 26:03Speaker 2: it's a Bo Diddley song, though. So there's lots of
- 26:05Speaker 2: versions of it out there.
- 26:07Speaker 12: Everything's a Bo Diddley song.
- 26:09Speaker 9: If you go back, we all just take from Bo Diddley.
- 26:11Speaker 2: He did write a lot of them.
- 26:12Speaker 16: He really did.
- 26:14Speaker 5: Man, that dude sure got the blues.
- 26:22Speaker 9: So I'm proud to announce that Movie Meltdown is now

- 28:36Speaker 7: Hi, this is Lisa Loeb, and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 28:40Speaker 7: You say.
- 28:43Speaker 15: I only hear what I want to.
- 28:49Speaker 9: So as I came into this, I was going to
- 28:52Speaker 9: put together some sort.
- 28:53Speaker 12: Of Winona thing.
- 28:55Speaker 9: Again, it probably would have happened anyway without the live event.
- 28:58Speaker 12: Because I'm a geek.
- 28:59Speaker 9: So yeah, my, I guess to lead into it, my
- 29:04Speaker 9: Winona goes pretty deep. And I feel like a lot
- 29:07Speaker 9: of people certainly of that time period have that.
- 29:10Speaker 2: And I think it's, What's the time period you're speaking
- 29:13Speaker 2: of here?
- 29:15Speaker 9: I was thinking that too. It's like her hate, because
- 29:17Speaker 9: people even like just even her in that little shampoo
- 29:22Speaker 9: commercial she did or whatever, like it kind of makes
- 29:25Speaker 9: the reference to the comeback.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Is that what she's known for first?
- 29:27Speaker 9: So that's, I think now it's because of Stranger Things people,
- 29:31Speaker 9: because she's still been working for years, but like not
- 29:35Speaker 9: really big role. And that's the thing, looking through soundtracks,
- 29:37Speaker 9: I was like, man, there are some of these in
- 29:39Speaker 9: the middle here that I didn't even know she made
- 29:41Speaker 9: so it's like she's been working steadily but hasn't been
- 29:45Speaker 9: high profile haven't been getting like big roles no Stranger
- 29:48Speaker 9: Things really helped that Stranger Things like totally turned her
- 29:51Speaker 9: career around again and made her like legitimate and bankable
- 29:55Speaker 9: so it's like that changed everything but like I'm I
- 29:58Speaker 9: was thinking like her heyday for like people that like
- 30:02Speaker 9: love winona and probably reference most of it is like
- 30:05Speaker 9: very late 80s into the like mid 90s so he
- 30:08Speaker 9: is kind of that like sweet spot of like beetlejuiced
- 30:12Speaker 9: and reality bites you know it's like that's that period
- 30:15Speaker 9: is kind of everything that that i think kind of
- 30:18Speaker 9: gelled into what she was and how she became known
- 30:22Speaker 9: and a lot of it i think that's what i
- 30:23Speaker 9: was saying before like like people i won't say guys
- 30:27Speaker 9: people of all sorts that especially in this event that
- 30:30Speaker 9: fell in love with her, I think it is also
- 30:32Speaker 9: because she was such a, just an oddball. And, like,
- 30:35Speaker 9: she plays that very convincingly, because I think, in general,
- 30:40Speaker 9: she kind of is. Yeah. But, like, it also was, like,
- 30:42Speaker 9: this representation of, like, other people, you know, that are
- 30:46Speaker 9: out there in the world. And, like, you've got your big,
- 30:48Speaker 9: fancy Hollywood movie stars. And not that Winona isn't gorgeous,
- 30:52Speaker 9: because she is. But it's just, like, she was weird.
- 30:55Speaker 9: And she didn't fit the normal, like, cookie-cutter thing that, like, girls...
- 30:59Speaker 9: that were getting lead roles at that time were, were
- 31:01Speaker 9: kind of falling into. So it was, I think that
- 31:04Speaker 9: was part of it. Unbeknownst to certainly me and probably
- 31:07Speaker 9: everyone was, she was sort of like, not just girl
- 31:11Speaker 9: next door type, but like weird girl that lives down
- 31:13Speaker 9: the street. Like she was just kind of a little odd,
- 31:17Speaker 9: but yet still adorable. And you kind of had to
- 31:20Speaker 9: love her. So, That was the thing going into this.
- 31:23Speaker 9: I was just like, this is like, there were certain
- 31:25Speaker 9: ones that like, as soon as I thought of like, oh,
- 31:28Speaker 9: we're going to do a Winona themed soundtrack episode. Like,
- 31:31Speaker 9: I'm like, well, obviously this was my go-to and like
- 31:34Speaker 9: some of them. Some of them got played during the night,
- 31:37Speaker 9: but some of them didn't even do that, I feel like.
- 31:39Speaker 9: There were a few that fell through the cracks. With
- 31:41Speaker 9: the DJs even? Yeah, with Heather even working in stuff
- 31:45Speaker 9: in between you guys playing. She played some other stuff
- 31:47Speaker 9: that were probably pretty well-known versions of that kind of thing.
- 31:50Speaker 9: But there were a few that I think still fell
- 31:51Speaker 9: through the cracks. So I decided to throw in some
- 31:54Speaker 9: other ones that were like ones that I immediately thought
- 31:57Speaker 9: of that were kind of like, we can't have this
- 31:59Speaker 9: without that. And then the other would be like, there
- 32:02Speaker 9: were a couple, as I was going through that list
- 32:04Speaker 9: of like, new movies that I didn't know, there were
- 32:07Speaker 9: a few other appearances of her that I'll get to
- 32:09Speaker 9: that were just like, we need some wild cards in
- 32:11Speaker 9: this mix.
- 32:11Speaker 12: So I have a couple others.
- 32:13Speaker 9: So the first that was more of like the go-to
- 32:17Speaker 9: that like, I can't, even though this is a very
- 32:20Speaker 9: well-known artist, I can't hear this song, specifically this version
- 32:24Speaker 9: of the song, without thinking of Winona. And to me, maybe,
- 32:29Speaker 9: especially at that point, maybe her signature film is Heather's.
- 32:33Speaker 9: So for me, I mean, it's the big song we
- 32:36Speaker 9: go out on. Que sera, sera. Most people, again, your
- 32:41Speaker 9: older generation is going to go with your Doris Day version,
- 32:44Speaker 9: which technically is in Girl Interrupted. But that's not the
- 32:47Speaker 9: one for me. At the end of Heathers, we're going
- 32:50Speaker 9: out on the credits, and they're doing their big.
- 32:52Speaker 12: Walk-off down the hall.
- 32:53Speaker 9: And Sly and Family Stone play it. And that version
- 32:59Speaker 9: had existed before the movie, but... That's my go-to. Anytime
- 33:03Speaker 9: I hear that song, that's the one I think of
- 33:05Speaker 9: every time. Yeah, I think we need some sly.
- 33:10Speaker 14: When I was just a little girl I asked my
- 33:19Speaker 14: mother What.
- 33:21Speaker 7: Will I be? Will I be pretty? Will I be right?
- 33:31Speaker 1: Here's what she said to me, girl.
- 34:02Speaker 22: To see Well, well, well, well Guess around Guess around
- 34:16Speaker 22: Guess around.
- 34:21Speaker 14: When I grew up And fell in love I asked
- 34:28Speaker 14: my lover What.
- 34:31Speaker 7: Will I be?
- 34:32Speaker 1: Will I be real?
- 34:33Speaker 23: Day after day.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Is out my mind. We'll be, we'll be, we'll be. Okay, survive, survive.
- 35:17Speaker 7: Whatever, whatever we'll be, we'll be.
- 35:31Speaker 5: .
- 35:39Speaker 1: .
- 35:43Speaker 22: .
- 36:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:52Speaker 24: You just found out what's to see. Kiss Sarah. Kiss Sarah.
- 37:05Speaker 7: Kiss Sarah.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Now I have children of my own.
- 37:21Speaker 14: They ask their mother, what will I be?
- 37:26Speaker 1: Will I be handsome?
- 37:28Speaker 2: Will I be rich?
- 37:28Speaker 7: I tell them yes.
- 38:05Speaker 9: While we're on that note, just a double shot of
- 38:08Speaker 9: Heathers here. You can't not play... I mean, to me,
- 38:13Speaker 9: Heathers is such a pointed satire. It world as a
- 38:17Speaker 9: whole certainly high school and and annoying kids so um
- 38:21Speaker 9: the fact that they come up with this band and
- 38:23Speaker 9: this like do-gooder kind of a message that's going on
- 38:26Speaker 9: in the middle of it that they're being very satirical
- 38:29Speaker 9: i feel i feel and then the song that they
- 38:32Speaker 9: play is um from big fun it is a teenage
- 38:36Speaker 9: suicide don't do it very subtle The way that this song,
- 38:42Speaker 9: the cheesy level of this song, like, hits you over
- 38:45Speaker 9: the head in a way that is so perfect for
- 38:47Speaker 9: this movie. And it's funny how many times I've seen
- 38:50Speaker 9: the movie, they barely play it, like, in between scenes
- 38:53Speaker 9: when they're referencing it. I don't know how much I'd
- 38:55Speaker 9: sat down and listened to it in its entirety, and
- 38:58Speaker 9: I swear I think it's funnier this way. So I
- 39:00Speaker 9: kind of wanted to work that in just because it's ridiculous.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Teenage suicide Talk to it.
- 39:19Speaker 25: Teenage suicide She blew it Teenage suicide Talk to it
- 39:25Speaker 25: Teenage suicide.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Suicide.
- 39:31Speaker 26: Drugs and alcohol don't mix. Your lily white is so well.
- 39:36Speaker 26: You're reading the last rights from a credit card. You
- 39:39Speaker 26: know my head's too soft and the light's too hard.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Teenage suicide.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Talk to it.
- 39:46Speaker 20: Teenage suicide.
- 39:47Speaker 16: She blew it.
- 39:49Speaker 7: Teenage suicide.
- 39:52Speaker 1: Talk to it.
- 39:52Speaker 7: Teenage suicide.
- 39:55Speaker 20: Feel the power of revenge.
- 39:57Speaker 7: The lieutenant got shot, but he's no man. My future
- 40:01Speaker 7: looks dark, but my lights are out.
- 40:03Speaker 27: Please pull this gun out of my mouth.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Teenage suicide.
- 40:07Speaker 7: Talk to it.
- 40:09Speaker 20: Teenage suicide.
- 40:11Speaker 7: Roll some blue hair. Teenage suicide. Please talk to it.
- 40:16Speaker 28: Teenage suicide.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Teenage suicide. I can't just get back!
- 40:52Speaker 7: Teenage Suicide.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Teenage Suicide.
- 40:56Speaker 7: Teenage Suicide. Teenage Suicide. Teenage Suicide.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Teenage Suicide.
- 41:04Speaker 7: Teenage Suicide.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Be clean and nice. Need your parents' advice.
- 41:13Speaker 16: The cheerleaders don't understand.
- 41:16Speaker 7: Teenage suicide. Talk to it. Teenage suicide.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Oh, she blew it.
- 41:21Speaker 7: Teenage suicide.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Talk to it.
- 41:23Speaker 7: Teenage suicide. Teenage suicide.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Talk to it. Teenage suicide. Oh, she blew it.
- 41:32Speaker 7: Teenage suicide.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Talk to it.
- 41:35Speaker 12: Teenage And a good message for.
- 42:05Speaker 5: All of us.
- 42:06Speaker 10: Don't do it, guys.
- 42:07Speaker 2: Self-murder is not cool.
- 42:09Speaker 9: If we've learned anything from Winona, don't kill you or
- 42:13Speaker 9: your friends. Or if you do, cover it up a
- 42:15Speaker 9: little better. Alright, so do we want to work in
- 42:20Speaker 9: another one of your specific.
- 42:24Speaker 12: Memorable moments of the evening?
- 42:25Speaker 9: Sure.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Let's think about that night. There were lots of tequila
- 42:33Speaker 2: shots that night. Actually, I think I had a jar
- 42:36Speaker 2: of moonshine on stage as well.
- 42:39Speaker 12: I cannot imagine.
- 42:41Speaker 2: We drank a jar of peach moonshine the night before
- 42:45Speaker 2: at rehearsal. That probably didn't help things.
- 42:49Speaker 12: Just priming the pump.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Yeah. And so it got a little hazy there.
- 42:57Speaker 9: I had the list if you'd like to.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I think that Girls on Film was pretty fun.
- 43:05Speaker 9: Another yeah it is another one that was one of
- 43:07Speaker 9: the ones I was like okay nobody loves Duran Duran
- 43:10Speaker 9: more than me but I'm just like what movie was
- 43:13Speaker 9: that in and then I'm.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Like Stranger Things I was like of course Stranger Things
- 43:17Speaker 2: see like I've seen I've seen hardly any Winona Ryder
- 43:21Speaker 2: movies I brought.
- 43:22Speaker 9: You in for the live performance end of it I
- 43:25Speaker 9: can cover dorky Winona stories.
- 43:27Speaker 2: I've seen you know I've seen so it was weird
- 43:28Speaker 2: for me doing this because like I've seen Stranger Things
- 43:31Speaker 2: but like the like doing this was a little strange
- 43:36Speaker 2: because like, you know, like I don't listen to the
- 43:39Speaker 2: eighties hits all that much. Like I liked Duran Duran,
- 43:42Speaker 2: but I was born in 86. So like, you know,
- 43:45Speaker 2: it was like more like, uh, grunge was what was
- 43:50Speaker 2: big whenever I started remembering everything. And so, um, I
- 43:55Speaker 2: wasn't listening to a lot of stuff from that era. Uh,
- 43:59Speaker 2: and so like, it was fun to do it because like, uh,
- 44:02Speaker 2: That Duran Duran song is badass. And like that basis
- 44:05Speaker 2: is amazing. And so like, I got to study it
- 44:09Speaker 2: a little more than I would have. And so that,
- 44:10Speaker 2: that was fun. But like, so watching stranger things though,
- 44:13Speaker 2: I never really connected with the eighties nostalgia so much
- 44:17Speaker 2: that they're like, that everybody seems to be playing on now.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Like it was too young.
- 44:22Speaker 9: What's funny is so are the guys making it. That's
- 44:24Speaker 9: what I think is impressive is like, Oh really?
- 44:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:27Speaker 9: To like watch it, you would think they're just old
- 44:29Speaker 9: dorks that grew up in the eighties. They're really not.
- 44:32Speaker 9: They're like... Capitalizing. Well, I mean, I think they grew
- 44:36Speaker 9: up loving that same stuff, but it was like watching
- 44:39Speaker 9: it on DVD. It was like watching it on cable.
- 44:42Speaker 9: They came up with all the same references, but it
- 44:45Speaker 9: was way later than the original run. So it's funny
- 44:48Speaker 9: how much that still works. It's like we still kind
- 44:51Speaker 9: of have that weird childhood of latching on to whatever
- 44:54Speaker 9: our thing is, even if it's not of your specific era.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:58Speaker 9: Yeah, that's kind of their story, too. It was like
- 45:01Speaker 9: they grew up in that era, but just latched on
- 45:04Speaker 9: to 80s.
- 45:06Speaker 2: I had an older sister. She got me into some
- 45:09Speaker 2: stuff that I probably normally wouldn't have. So maybe that's
- 45:13Speaker 2: what happened. But I don't know. That Duran was cool,
- 45:17Speaker 2: and it made me think about how they're not such
- 45:19Speaker 2: an awful band. I would have grouped them in with
- 45:22Speaker 2: Death Leopard or something in the past.
- 45:25Speaker 20: Very different, yeah.
- 45:26Speaker 2: But they're definitely different. So that was fun to get
- 45:30Speaker 2: to know them a little bit. We had a guest,
- 45:32Speaker 2: Tyler Lance Walker-Gill, come up and beat on a drum
- 45:35Speaker 2: with me in the middle of the set and the
- 45:37Speaker 2: breakdown of that song.
- 45:38Speaker 12: There's definitely a breakdown.
- 45:39Speaker 2: In this book. Yeah, we definitely beat the hell out
- 45:42Speaker 2: of that drum there.
- 45:59Speaker 27: See them walking hand in hand across the bridge at midnight.
- 46:06Speaker 27: Heads turning as the lights flashing out are so bright.
- 46:09Speaker 27: And they walk right down the full-blown track and remember
- 46:15Speaker 27: rolling down her back, on her back. And the scenes
- 46:20Speaker 27: with them humming in a frenzy are the weight out
- 46:23Speaker 27: of spine.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Girls on film! Girls on.
- 46:39Speaker 29: Film!
- 46:40Speaker 7: Girls on film!
- 46:42Speaker 1: Girls on film!
- 46:51Speaker 16: Let's eat cherry all.
- 46:52Speaker 7: Over the land that she's falling.
- 46:58Speaker 27: And miles of sharp blue water stretching out as she lies.
- 47:02Speaker 30: The diamond man's coming up for air, cause the crowd
- 47:07Speaker 30: all loves one dolly by the half.
- 47:10Speaker 1: By the half.
- 47:12Speaker 31: And she wonders how she ever got here if she
- 47:14Speaker 31: goes under again.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Girls are dead. And the state.
- 47:24Speaker 7: Of girls are dead.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Girls on film More than a stranger Girls on film
- 47:40Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 48:23Speaker 27: Why do babies smile and you just made a.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Million?
- 48:30Speaker 7: Fireless is eating my pizza, got on a plane.
- 48:36Speaker 27: Take one last kiss, I'm holding tight, I'm holding tight.
- 48:41Speaker 23: Holding tight.
- 48:44Speaker 27: Shutters in a whisper, take me down I'm shooting a
- 48:47Speaker 27: shot .
- 48:57Speaker 7: .
- 49:13Speaker 27: .
- 49:17Speaker 16: .
- 49:41Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it was interesting. It was fun. I think I
- 50:20Speaker 2: kept wadding up my lyric sheets and throwing them at
- 50:22Speaker 2: people in the crowd.
- 50:23Speaker 9: I was going to ask, were you specifically aiming at me?
- 50:27Speaker 5: No, maybe at one point.
- 50:28Speaker 32: At least two of them almost hit me.
- 50:32Speaker 5: I definitely may have at one point.
- 50:35Speaker 12: Damn, I hate that guy.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Just a random toss out in the crowd. I don't
- 50:39Speaker 2: know why I was doing that, but they were in
- 50:41Speaker 2: the way sometimes, and so then I just, I got bored. Hostility.
- 50:46Speaker 9: Yeah. Hostility towards your crowd.
- 50:48Speaker 12: I get it.
- 50:50Speaker 2: I was trying to give them a souvenir to take home.
- 50:53Speaker 12: Instead, they made you sweep the place up at the
- 50:56Speaker 12: end of the night.
- 50:58Speaker 2: I was out the door. Get up or stop. Yeah,
- 51:01Speaker 2: I probably should have stuck around. I think I stepped
- 51:03Speaker 2: on a lot of, there were Christmas lights all over
- 51:04Speaker 2: the stage.
- 51:05Speaker 12: I've Stepped on.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Several of those. There was lots of glass. But who
- 51:10Speaker 2: puts up big bulb glass Christmas lights?
- 51:13Speaker 12: Winona.
- 51:13Speaker 2: All over the place. I guess so. So maybe that's
- 51:16Speaker 2: why they did it.
- 51:17Speaker 5: I crunched them.
- 51:21Speaker 12: The upside down will not be pleased.
- 51:23Speaker 6: No.
- 51:23Speaker 12: That's their communication, man.
- 51:25Speaker 6: No.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Oh, that's right. I see. But see, were they the
- 51:28Speaker 2: same kind of bulbs? Is that what he was going for?
- 51:31Speaker 2: I didn't realize that.
- 51:32Speaker 9: See, I would say yes, but I had to go
- 51:35Speaker 9: to that specific venue for something earlier in the week
- 51:39Speaker 9: and they were already there. So either they just have
- 51:41Speaker 9: them up all the time or they were playing ahead.
- 51:43Speaker 2: They did have those up all the time in the window,
- 51:46Speaker 2: but then our drummer brought his own and then he
- 51:49Speaker 2: was like, yeah, I got these 80s looking. And so
- 51:51Speaker 2: I didn't realize.
- 51:52Speaker 12: You should just blame him.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Maybe he was trying to do a Stranger Things thing.
- 51:59Speaker 9: Speaking of the heyday of Winona Ryder. her heyday was
- 52:03Speaker 9: also the heyday of a very specific form of media.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Called the compact disc. Yes, the CD.
- 52:13Speaker 9: So I accumulated many soundtracks, no surprise since I have
- 52:17Speaker 9: this show, most of which in the early days were
- 52:20Speaker 9: probably connected to somebody I had a weird thing for, like, I.
- 52:23Speaker 12: Don't know what I want to.
- 52:24Speaker 9: So that's probably the reason I have the 1969 soundtrack
- 52:28Speaker 9: that I'm holding here for you guys at home. And
- 52:33Speaker 9: this is one of those that I kind of thought
- 52:34Speaker 9: you would appreciate it because it's also like it was
- 52:37Speaker 9: me at a specific point where I was also trying
- 52:39Speaker 9: to figure out like just music in general. Like, what
- 52:42Speaker 9: do I like? What am I into? If you don't
- 52:45Speaker 9: have this soundtrack at home, because the movie, nobody saw
- 52:48Speaker 9: the movie.
- 52:49Speaker 12: It was minor.
- 52:49Speaker 9: I remember it kind of jumping straight to VHS back
- 52:53Speaker 9: in the day. So like it was like it barely
- 52:55Speaker 9: saw a theatrical run as far as I know. But,
- 52:58Speaker 9: if you pick up the soundtrack, it's like your, like,
- 53:01Speaker 9: greatest hits of this era. It is like the lineup
- 53:04Speaker 9: of everything, I don't know if they were all specifically 69, but, like,
- 53:09Speaker 9: everything of that, look at this lineup.
- 53:12Speaker 12: Hendrix, of course.
- 53:14Speaker 9: Then we get Cream.
- 53:16Speaker 2: CCR, Chamber Brothers song came from.
- 53:19Speaker 9: Can He, The Zombies, Blind Faith, The Moody Blues, Crosby, Stills,
- 53:24Speaker 9: and Nash, The Fifth Dimension, like, Nice. Everything on here
- 53:28Speaker 9: was kind of like the big hit for them. So
- 53:31Speaker 9: it's like if you're a kid and you only have
- 53:33Speaker 9: like one... Look, this is the end of the 60s era.
- 53:36Speaker 9: You want to learn about the music?
- 53:37Speaker 2: Here you go.
- 53:37Speaker 9: You just hand them one soundtrack and you're like, oh, okay, well,
- 53:41Speaker 9: I'm good then. So that was kind of a nice
- 53:43Speaker 9: introduction to some of these that I may not have
- 53:47Speaker 9: sought out otherwise. So some of them I'm like, eh,
- 53:50Speaker 9: I can live without them. Other ones I'm like, no, no,
- 53:52Speaker 9: this is awesome. One of which I haven't mentioned yet
- 53:54Speaker 9: and it was one of my... It came to be
- 53:57Speaker 9: one of my favorite bands that I still haven't gone completely.
- 54:02Speaker 9: There's still so much stuff they've done that I'm digging
- 54:05Speaker 9: through at this point. But also one of the lesser
- 54:08Speaker 9: played of their songs is on this soundtrack. This is
- 54:12Speaker 9: When I Was Young by The Animals.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 54:30Speaker 33: The rooms were so much colder then My father was
- 54:36Speaker 33: a soldier then And times were very hard when I
- 54:42Speaker 33: was young I smoked my first cigarette at ten.
- 54:54Speaker 7: And for girls, I had a bad yin.
- 54:58Speaker 33: And I had quite a ball when I was young.
- 55:03Speaker 1: When I was young, it.
- 55:11Speaker 16: Was more important.
- 55:24Speaker 1: When I was young I met.
- 55:31Speaker 33: My first love at 13 She was brown and I
- 55:37Speaker 33: was pretty green And I learned quite a lot When I.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Was young When I was young When I was young
- 56:08Speaker 1: it was.
- 56:08Speaker 25: More important Pain.
- 56:11Speaker 33: More painful after much louder, yeah When I was young
- 56:17Speaker 33: When I was young My.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Faith was so much stronger than.
- 56:31Speaker 33: I believed in fellow men, and I was so much
- 56:37Speaker 33: older then.
- 56:41Speaker 5: When I was.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Young, when I was young.
- 57:03Speaker 12: I love the animals.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I love the animals, too.
- 57:06Speaker 9: It's one of those, as I knew the one or
- 57:09Speaker 9: two big singles, and then there's that, that I was
- 57:13Speaker 9: just not prepared for how cool it is and how
- 57:16Speaker 9: kind of heavy a lot of their stuff is to
- 57:18Speaker 9: be as early as they were. Because they're a little
- 57:22Speaker 9: earlier 60s, I think, when some of their stuff was starting,
- 57:25Speaker 9: and they were pretty... That's pretty heavy in tone to
- 57:28Speaker 9: him for sure.
- 57:29Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 57:29Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Especially his voice too.
- 57:31Speaker 1: There.
- 57:31Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 57:31Speaker 12: They were really heavy tone.
- 57:33Speaker 9: So it, it sort of fits this like somber movie anyway,
- 57:36Speaker 9: but yeah, I just thought that was kind of a
- 57:38Speaker 9: cool one to mix in just of like something that
- 57:40Speaker 9: maybe not everybody's heard. Cause that's, I've heard other people
- 57:43Speaker 9: cover that over the years, but like, to me, that's
- 57:46Speaker 9: still the go-to. That's the one I, I was just
- 57:48Speaker 9: on board with as soon as I heard it on
- 57:50Speaker 9: this soundtrack.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Do you want to throw out any other, uh, songs
- 57:56Speaker 2: of the year let's see i think i deleted my
- 57:58Speaker 2: set list um well the jim the jim croce might
- 58:01Speaker 2: have been might have been a cool one that second
- 58:04Speaker 2: set gets a little.
- 58:06Speaker 9: Yeah that's where it's towards the end i i don't
- 58:10Speaker 9: know what was going on you guys were spiraling out
- 58:12Speaker 9: of control really insane like.
- 58:15Speaker 2: And like in a bad way you can be i'm
- 58:18Speaker 2: not sure and like that's the thing i was watching
- 58:21Speaker 2: and like.
- 58:21Speaker 9: People were, like, loving it. Like, the evening was, like,
- 58:26Speaker 9: at its peak at that point. So, like, I think your, like, unhingedness, like,
- 58:31Speaker 9: kind of added to that. Like, I think people really
- 58:34Speaker 9: got into it because I think, yeah, the last half
- 58:37Speaker 9: of that, I think starting with, if you want me
- 58:39Speaker 9: to pick one, and this is, again, delving more into
- 58:41Speaker 9: the Stranger Things, I think that cover of Round and
- 58:44Speaker 9: Round was badass.
- 58:46Speaker 16: Awesome.
- 58:47Speaker 12: Thanks.
- 58:47Speaker 9: I thought that was, yeah. And one I didn't see coming...
- 58:50Speaker 9: From the night? Like, again, that was one of those
- 58:53Speaker 9: I totally forgot was on the Stranger Things soundtrack.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:56Speaker 9: And on top of that, I would have never pegged
- 58:58Speaker 9: that to be one you would end up covering, so
- 59:00Speaker 9: I guess it took this nudge. How familiar were you
- 59:03Speaker 9: with Rat, I suppose, before this started?
- 59:06Speaker 2: Definitely not my thing.
- 59:08Speaker 12: For sure.
- 59:08Speaker 9: I actually like there are some really good stuff of
- 59:12Speaker 9: theirs of that era but they're a really specific sound
- 59:15Speaker 9: that like not everybody gets into so.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Well we so like i i probably came up with
- 59:20Speaker 2: most of the set list i think that like the
- 59:23Speaker 2: greg our bassist made his own soundtrack his own playlist
- 59:26Speaker 2: on spotify out of what he thought the whole list
- 59:29Speaker 2: out of what he liked and then i made one
- 59:31Speaker 2: and me and rachel were hanging out and so like
- 59:34Speaker 2: i think we kind of whittled them down but ultimately
- 59:36Speaker 2: it came down to me just like here's here's what
- 59:39Speaker 2: we got and any objections nobody objected so we had
- 59:43Speaker 2: it down to rat round and round and um i
- 59:48Speaker 2: think it was rocky like a hurricane yeah where the
- 59:50Speaker 2: two from that era that like I kind of wanted
- 59:53Speaker 2: to be a part of the set just to us.
- 59:54Speaker 9: Both are pretty entertaining songs.
- 59:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they're entertaining and like going from playing like Petula
- 59:59Speaker 2: Clark's Downtown to playing Rat or vice versa. I think
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: we did it the other way. I think we went
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: from Rat into Downtown. And so like I really love
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: doing that. That's one of my favorite things about playing
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: these cover sets is just like coming out with something
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: that people are like, I had no idea you were
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: going to do that song or you were going to
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: do it that way either. And so... so that was,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: that was the reasoning for it. And at the time, my,
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: my boss that I work pretty close with, he is
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: a fan of that era of music. And so we
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: had talked about having him sing it. And I was like, dude,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: if you would sing this song.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: Then we'll definitely play it.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: We'll have you as a guest to come out. And so, uh,
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: he eventually backed out. So just going to call him
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: out on that. Backed out.
- 1:00:49Speaker 12: No Steven Pierce.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: And, uh, So then I was like, well, let's just
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: cut this damn song. And surprisingly, everyone, this is actually
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: pretty funny. I forgot about this. Surprisingly, everyone voted it.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: I was like, let's cut it. And the other three said, no,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: let's keep it. I was surprised that our bassist, Greg,
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: was into that. Because he's a 70s dude. He's into
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: the B-52s and New Wave and Bjork and stuff like that.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: He likes all kinds of music. This is not one
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: I picked for him. And he was like, I don't know, dude.
- 1:01:22Speaker 16: This song is just really fucking fun to play, man.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: And so Chris, the drummer, he's like 10 years younger
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: than Greg, 10 years older than I. So he was
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: right in the pocket. He loved Rat and that kind
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: of stuff. And Duran Duran, that was all the kind
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: of stuff that he grew up on. So that was
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: the reason why they kept it. Well, Rachel voted for
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: it too. And then once we got to rehearsal, she
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: wasn't really going to like sing on it. She was like, yeah,
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: cause Tyler Lance Walker Gill guested and he sang the lead.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: And then we had, uh, Ken all day from curio
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: key club, um, playing guitar with us. And I just,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: you know, played guitar as well. I just played second
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: guitar and Ken did all the shredding and, So Tyler's
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: singing it and Rachel's just like standing outside or something.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: And I was like, no, no, no.
- 1:02:06Speaker 16: I was like, you voted for this song.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: I was like, you need to sing on this song. Okay.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: If I got to play for it, she's going to,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: she goes, uh, I'm going to be honest. Whatever. I
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: voted for it. I thought it was, you spin me
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: right around, baby.
- 1:02:19Speaker 16: Right around.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: And we all just started cracking up.
- 1:02:22Speaker 9: Slightly different type of music. Yeah.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: It was, it was pretty funny.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:02:43Speaker 8: Out on the streets, that's where we meet. You make
- 1:02:47Speaker 8: the night, I always cross the line. Tied in our belt,
- 1:02:52Speaker 8: abuse ourselves. Get in the way, we'll put you on
- 1:02:56Speaker 8: your shelf.
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: Another day, another way. We gotta go, but then we'll
- 1:03:03Speaker 7: see you again.
- 1:03:04Speaker 9: I've had enough, we've had enough.
- 1:03:08Speaker 34: Called in vain she said I knew right from the
- 1:03:12Speaker 34: beginning that you wouldn't end up winning I knew right
- 1:03:19Speaker 34: from the start you put an arrow through.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: My heart.
- 1:03:28Speaker 35: Round and round with love we'll find a way just
- 1:03:32Speaker 35: give me.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Time Round and round.
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: What comes around goes around I'll tell you why.
- 1:03:44Speaker 16: Lookin' at you, lookin' at me The.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Neon lights, it knows it's on me tonight.
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: The neon lights are on me tonight I've got a way,
- 1:03:56Speaker 8: I'm gonna prove it tonight Like Romeo to Juliet Time
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: and time, I'm gonna.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Make it mine I've had.
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: Enough, oh we've had enough It's all the.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Same, whoopsie said.
- 1:04:12Speaker 35: I knew right from the beginning That you wouldn't end
- 1:04:17Speaker 35: up winning I knew right from the start You put
- 1:04:22Speaker 35: an arrow through.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: My heart.
- 1:04:29Speaker 35: Round and round.
- 1:04:31Speaker 16: When love will find a way just give.
- 1:04:34Speaker 31: It time.
- 1:04:37Speaker 17: Round and round, what comes around goes around.
- 1:04:41Speaker 35: I'll tell you why.
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: Take the kids!
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: Come on!
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: Oh!
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Oh!
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: Out on the streets, that's where we meet You make
- 1:06:01Speaker 8: the night, I always cross the line Shouting out bells,
- 1:06:06Speaker 8: abuse ourselves Getting away, we'll put you on your.
- 1:06:11Speaker 17: Show With love we'll find a way Just keep.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: It tight.
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: Round and round, what.
- 1:06:28Speaker 9: Comes around goes around.
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: I'll tell you why. Round and round.
- 1:06:34Speaker 16: We love, we find, and we just give it time.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Time, time, time.
- 1:06:39Speaker 35: Round and round, what comes around goes around.
- 1:06:43Speaker 16: I'll tell you why, why, why.
- 1:06:45Speaker 7: Round and round.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Tyler Lance Walker Gill, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:07:05Speaker 36: Tyler Lance Walker Gill. Four fucking first names. Nobody has
- 1:07:14Speaker 36: four first names except this guy right here.
- 1:07:17Speaker 9: But I think that's why it works. Again, maybe just
- 1:07:19Speaker 9: for me, because I do know you guys, or at
- 1:07:22Speaker 9: least the sound of the band normally. So like it
- 1:07:24Speaker 9: was so left turn. That was like, yeah, that's kind
- 1:07:28Speaker 9: of awesome. And by the end, everybody does sort of like,
- 1:07:31Speaker 9: you can kind of hear all of you in there.
- 1:07:33Speaker 9: So it does become almost more of a sing along.
- 1:07:36Speaker 9: Like as much as he sort of leads it, like
- 1:07:38Speaker 9: by the end, it becomes such a group effort that
- 1:07:40Speaker 9: I think that's what sold it.
- 1:07:41Speaker 12: It became way more fun as a song as a whole.
- 1:07:44Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Having Tyler up there too, he's got a great energy.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: I knew it would be a fun song to play
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: even though I wasn't super into Rat. It definitely diversified
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: the set greatly.
- 1:08:00Speaker 12: Alright, I think I'm going to throw out some wild
- 1:08:03Speaker 12: cards here.
- 1:08:04Speaker 9: Because as I was going through, I knew this one,
- 1:08:07Speaker 9: I've seen this one video-wise, so we're going to go again,
- 1:08:11Speaker 9: we're breaking the rules. I'm going to go with a
- 1:08:13Speaker 9: short film may or may not be a music video, but, um,
- 1:08:17Speaker 9: one of the most interesting things on her resume is, uh,
- 1:08:21Speaker 9: in 89, uh, Winona plays, well, in the song, Debbie
- 1:08:27Speaker 9: Gibson is pregnant with my two-headed love child by Mojo Nixon.
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: She plays the pregnant bride, Debbie Gibson in a really
- 1:08:36Speaker 9: ridiculous wig. And it's one of those, I'm always like,
- 1:08:39Speaker 9: I guess they were both kind of like weird out
- 1:08:43Speaker 9: there kind of up and comers so i guess mojo
- 1:08:45Speaker 9: nixon was like hey you want to be in my
- 1:08:47Speaker 9: video i don't know how this came together but it's
- 1:08:50Speaker 9: it's a hell of a a song mojo's a weird
- 1:08:55Speaker 9: dude and this was yeah i just figured this was
- 1:08:57Speaker 9: fun and if you haven't seen.
- 1:08:59Speaker 12: It go YouTube up the video.
- 1:09:01Speaker 9: Because, yeah, young Winona pretending to be young Debbie Gibson
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: is an odd thing.
- 1:09:08Speaker 12: It's a weird layered performance.
- 1:09:14Speaker 25: Debbie Gibson is back up with my two-headed love child.
- 1:09:19Speaker 25: It's a Bigfoot baby, all covered in fur now. We
- 1:09:29Speaker 25: were secretly married Out in Las Vegas Had a.
- 1:09:34Speaker 29: Little bit of chapel Joe Collins made us Rootin' tootin'
- 1:09:40Speaker 29: Ain't high for loot Rick.
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: Ashley is a painted waist Match my butt, his face.
- 1:09:48Speaker 25: He's teeny tiny, two inches of terror Man, they are.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Gonna scare ya.
- 1:09:55Speaker 27: No truth to the rumor About his birthday and damage Oh,
- 1:10:02Speaker 27: he went to the.
- 1:10:03Speaker 29: Motel Just to watch a little TV Hey, that dog.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: He must die guitar solo.
- 1:10:24Speaker 7: T-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t. Oh, Joe Nixon. He's not right in the head.
- 1:11:13Speaker 9: Do we want to continue down the Stranger Things road
- 1:11:15Speaker 9: while we're doing it anyway? Because another one that kind
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: of stood out to me, and again, I think just
- 1:11:21Speaker 9: because it's a good song, it's a song that a
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: lot of people know, and I bet half of them
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: can't name who did it. I thought Talking In Your
- 1:11:29Speaker 9: Sleep came together really well.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Did you?
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:33Speaker 12: Good.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: I'm glad. Do you agree?
- 1:11:34Speaker 9: I agree.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: Cause I did think that that was one that, I mean,
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: it was pretty simple and it was a song that
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: I definitely was much more familiar with.
- 1:11:41Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: And, uh, I mean, he doesn't, uh, he doesn't like
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: sing that many different lyrics. So it wasn't like super
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: challenging to try to figure it all out. And, uh,
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: and it just, it sounded cool because, you know, it's
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: pretty simple, but it's like three different instruments or four
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: different instruments. really exploring the space in there where it's
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: like the bass don't guitar jank jank boom jank jank
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: and then that keyboard comes in over top of it
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: and everything's really very simple and it's just it's cool
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: how that works out sometimes and uh so yeah it
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: was a lot of fun playing that one it was
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: fun doing the uh doing the delay on the vocals
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: too for myself instead of like having a vocal.
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: Pedal You go to sleep, sleep, sleep.
- 1:12:23Speaker 9: See, that's impressive.
- 1:12:25Speaker 12: That's a skill. Not everybody can do that.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Been doing a lot of vocal exercises on YouTube lately.
- 1:12:30Speaker 9: Bet the romantics had a button somebody was pushing.
- 1:12:34Speaker 12: Totally.
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: Weak.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: We get vocally swole.
- 1:12:51Speaker 16: Well when you close your eyes and you go.
- 1:12:54Speaker 7: To sleep.
- 1:12:59Speaker 30: It's down to the sound of a heartbeat I can
- 1:13:06Speaker 30: hear the things that you're dreaming about.
- 1:13:12Speaker 27: When you open up your heart and the truth comes
- 1:13:16Speaker 27: out You tell me that you want me. You tell
- 1:13:24Speaker 27: me that you need me. You tell me that you
- 1:13:28Speaker 27: love me. And I know that I'm right because I
- 1:13:32Speaker 27: hear it in the night. I hear the secrets that
- 1:13:36Speaker 27: you keep when you're talking in your sleep. I hear
- 1:13:42Speaker 27: the secrets that you keep When you're talking in your
- 1:13:46Speaker 27: sleep When I hold you in my arms at night
- 1:13:54Speaker 27: Don't you know you're sleeping in a spotlight And all
- 1:14:01Speaker 27: the things that you keep inside You're.
- 1:14:08Speaker 16: Telling me the secrets that you.
- 1:14:10Speaker 31: Just can't hide.
- 1:14:15Speaker 27: You tell me that you want me You tell me
- 1:14:19Speaker 27: that you need me You tell me that you love me.
- 1:14:25Speaker 16: But I know that I'm right Cause I.
- 1:14:27Speaker 27: Hear it in the night I hear the secrets that
- 1:14:31Speaker 27: you keep When you're talking in your sleep I hear
- 1:14:37Speaker 27: the secrets that you keep When you're talking in your
- 1:14:41Speaker 27: sleep I hear the secrets that you keep.
- 1:14:47Speaker 16: When you're talking in your sleep. I hear the.
- 1:14:51Speaker 27: Secrets that you keep when you're talking in your sleep.
- 1:14:56Speaker 27: When you close your eyes and you fall asleep. Everything
- 1:15:04Speaker 27: about you is a mystery. Will you tell me that
- 1:15:11Speaker 27: you want me? You tell me that you need me.
- 1:15:15Speaker 27: You tell me that you love me.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: And I know that.
- 1:15:21Speaker 27: I'm right, because I hear you in my head. I
- 1:15:25Speaker 27: hear the secrets that you keep when you're talking in
- 1:15:30Speaker 27: your sleep. I hear the secrets that you keep when
- 1:15:36Speaker 27: you're talking in your sleep. I hear the secrets.
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: That you keep When you're talking.
- 1:15:43Speaker 27: In your sleep, I hear the secrets that you keep.
- 1:15:49Speaker 31: When you're talking in your sleep, I hear the secrets
- 1:15:54Speaker 31: that you keep. Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
- 1:16:04Speaker 26: Woke up this morning feeling low where my loved one
- 1:16:10Speaker 26: used to live.
- 1:16:11Speaker 28: Hey, Jacqueline.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Hi.
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: Guess what?
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: What?

- 1:19:27Speaker 28: This is John Spencer and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:19:36Speaker 9: Alright, so if I'm coming back with a weird extra
- 1:19:38Speaker 9: wild card, Again, she's only been in a handful of
- 1:19:41Speaker 9: music videos.
- 1:19:44Speaker 12: I'm not going to make you listen to Dave Perner.
- 1:19:46Speaker 5: But....
- 1:19:48Speaker 9: The other one is one that I'm like, okay, I
- 1:19:51Speaker 9: can't resist it because I do love the song and
- 1:19:54Speaker 9: we've had him on the show. Previous guest, John Spencer,
- 1:19:58Speaker 9: she is... Again, if you haven't seen the video, it's
- 1:20:01Speaker 9: amazing because the band is set up and in the
- 1:20:06Speaker 9: role of John Spencer... Mm-hmm. is Winona Ryder. She's wearing
- 1:20:11Speaker 9: a shirt and outfit in general that looks kind of
- 1:20:15Speaker 9: like something John would wear and has her hair kind
- 1:20:18Speaker 9: of just shoved up a little bit and sort of
- 1:20:22Speaker 9: John-like and it just looks like Winona's singing a John
- 1:20:27Speaker 9: Spencer song. It's kind of amazing. So once again, points
- 1:20:31Speaker 9: for whoever came up with this idea. Yeah, so go
- 1:20:35Speaker 9: seek out the video. Regardless, this is the John Spencer
- 1:20:38Speaker 9: Blues Explosion with Talk About the Blues.
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: Talk About the Blues Talk About the Blues Talk.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: About the Blues Talk About the Blues Talk About the
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Blues to the moon, baby. We're talking about the blues
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:21:11Speaker 20: Look at you.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: That's right, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for letting me
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: into your home.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: I'm going to do it right now.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: I'm going to talk about the blues right now. I
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: wore a storm magazine, coming off the phone baby, I'm talking.
- 1:21:33Speaker 16: About that, fashion.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: I don't show like a fool, like I don't know me.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: I want to tell you what's real, but I ain't
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: getting rid of that. I ain't getting rid of that.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: Make up your own mind, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: That's bullshit, man.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: You know what I'm talking about. Do your own thing. Yeah.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: Because that's a rock and roll music.
- 1:22:10Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Because I got some All right. All right. Woo! On
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: behalf of myself, Mr. Drew Bauer, Russell Simmons, and everybody
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: in the whole of Stone Magazine, I'd like to say....
- 1:24:33Speaker 38: It is pretty badass i just i kind of forgot
- 1:24:38Speaker 38: about like i remember seeing it like probably on like
- 1:24:41Speaker 38: fucking mtv or something and being like wait is that
- 1:24:44Speaker 38: no like what the hell is and i never really
- 1:24:47Speaker 38: figured out how their connection like at least the soul
- 1:24:50Speaker 38: asylum one made sense she was messing around with.
- 1:24:52Speaker 9: Him but like i don't know what the connection to
- 1:24:55Speaker 9: john spencer was that like lured her into the uh
- 1:24:59Speaker 9: music video but yeah i've never seen it it's yeah
- 1:25:02Speaker 9: we'll have to youtube it up because it's pretty badass
- 1:25:04Speaker 9: but i was fever fever i was definitely uh yeah
- 1:25:09Speaker 9: that one i thought we'd have to work in mostly
- 1:25:12Speaker 9: because somebody was uh playing around with the lyrics making
- 1:25:16Speaker 9: it very event specific So I thought that's.
- 1:25:21Speaker 12: Certainly fitting for this episode.
- 1:25:22Speaker 16: Did she?
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: Rachel did that.
- 1:25:23Speaker 20: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: She's a wily one. Did she do a good job
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: at that?
- 1:25:27Speaker 9: It's very event specific and it probably helped given if
- 1:25:33Speaker 9: you have a visual, she was, keep in mind as
- 1:25:35Speaker 9: you're listening to this, she's also dressed as the Red
- 1:25:38Speaker 9: Bride Lydia dress and hair combo. So this version will
- 1:25:44Speaker 9: probably make a little more sense if you hear it
- 1:25:46Speaker 9: coming from The Bride, Lydia.
- 1:25:48Speaker 15: Never know how much I love you Never know how
- 1:25:52Speaker 15: much I care When you put your arms around me
- 1:25:58Speaker 15: I get a fever left so hard.
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: To bear You give me fever.
- 1:26:04Speaker 15: When you kiss me Fever when you hold me tight
- 1:26:10Speaker 15: Fever In the morning A fever all through the night
- 1:26:18Speaker 15: Sunlight's up the daytime Moonlight's up the night I light
- 1:26:26Speaker 15: up when you call my name And you know I'm
- 1:26:29Speaker 15: gonna treat you right You give me fever When you
- 1:26:36Speaker 15: kiss me Fever when you hold me tight Fever In
- 1:26:42Speaker 15: the morning Fever all through the night Everybody's got the
- 1:26:50Speaker 15: fever That.
- 1:26:52Speaker 14: Is something you all know Fever is such a new
- 1:26:58Speaker 14: thing Fever started long ago.
- 1:27:10Speaker 15: Romeo loved Juliet Juliet, she felt the same When he
- 1:27:18Speaker 15: put his arms around her He said, Julie, baby, you're
- 1:27:22Speaker 15: my flame Thou giveth fever with thy kisses Fever with
- 1:27:29Speaker 15: thy flaming youth Fever with thy firing Fever, yeah, I burn.
- 1:27:38Speaker 14: For sooth.
- 1:27:55Speaker 15: Betelgeuse and Lydia Had a very mad affair When the
- 1:28:02Speaker 15: daddy tried to.
- 1:28:03Speaker 7: Exorcise him She.
- 1:28:05Speaker 15: Said, Daddy, oh, don't you dare give me fever With
- 1:28:12Speaker 15: his hexes, fever with his hostess high.
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: Fever!
- 1:28:19Speaker 7: I'm his missus.
- 1:28:20Speaker 15: The daddy wants to treat him right. Now you've listened
- 1:28:33Speaker 15: to my story. Here's the point that I've made. Chickens
- 1:28:39Speaker 15: were born to give you fever. Be it Fahrenheit or centigrade,
- 1:28:45Speaker 15: they give you fever. When you kiss them, fever with
- 1:28:51Speaker 15: you live and learn.
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: Fever!
- 1:28:56Speaker 7: Till you sizzle.
- 1:28:58Speaker 15: What a lovely way to burn What a lovely way
- 1:29:03Speaker 15: to burn What a lovely way.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: To burn.
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I... Oh, yeah, because, like, we talked
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: about how much bullshit the whole John and Pocahontas verse was. Yeah,
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: it is kind of a... And I was like, she
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: brought it up, and then later I was like, yeah,
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: I was like, scrap that shit. And it's like, don't...
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: Just sing whatever you want.
- 1:29:29Speaker 9: Okay, here's one I couldn't not... Again, if we're going
- 1:29:33Speaker 9: back to, like, my initial knee-jerk reaction, Winona songs, what
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: are your feelings on Melissa Etheridge?
- 1:29:43Speaker 20: Hmm.
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: I mean, it's a little... It's not my jam.
- 1:29:47Speaker 16: That's the thing.
- 1:29:48Speaker 9: I think she, I think she suffered from her reputation
- 1:29:52Speaker 9: and what she became. I think she was almost like, like,
- 1:29:59Speaker 9: I think she was willing because she was getting kind
- 1:30:01Speaker 9: of good press out of it, but she also got
- 1:30:02Speaker 9: like used as like the poster girl for like alternative
- 1:30:06Speaker 9: music and or alternative lifestyles. And like her and her
- 1:30:10Speaker 9: girlfriend had to be on like every magazine, like, we're
- 1:30:13Speaker 9: going to have a baby together. Like it was, they
- 1:30:15Speaker 9: were kind of pushing that so hard that I'm like,
- 1:30:18Speaker 9: I feel like you guys know she makes music, right? Like,
- 1:30:21Speaker 9: I feel like that got shoved into everyone's faces so
- 1:30:24Speaker 9: much that cause in the early days, I feel like
- 1:30:27Speaker 9: those first, definitely those first two albums are bad-ass. I
- 1:30:31Speaker 9: even like stuff off some of the later ones, but this, yeah.
- 1:30:36Speaker 9: And that's the thing. I'm at least going back that
- 1:30:38Speaker 9: far because, uh, If you go, it's one of those,
- 1:30:41Speaker 9: I think this is probably one of her better songs,
- 1:30:43Speaker 9: even of this era. In, uh, it's 1990 that she's in, uh,
- 1:30:48Speaker 9: the Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael is Winona's movie. And, uh, yeah, the,
- 1:30:53Speaker 9: the theme within it is that like this big celebrity
- 1:30:57Speaker 9: more or less is so huge that people have written
- 1:30:59Speaker 9: songs about her. Like she's went off and become an
- 1:31:02Speaker 9: actress and become like a superstar. And like all these
- 1:31:05Speaker 9: different people have been like influenced by her and like
- 1:31:07Speaker 9: think she's the greatest thing ever. And people have written songs.
- 1:31:10Speaker 9: And then all these people have covered songs. So I
- 1:31:13Speaker 9: do like that it creates sort of this alternate reality
- 1:31:15Speaker 9: where Melissa Etheridge was kind of an up and coming
- 1:31:18Speaker 9: artist at that moment when they made the movie. And
- 1:31:20Speaker 9: she came in to do this song, which in the
- 1:31:23Speaker 9: real world didn't exist. She wrote it for this film,
- 1:31:26Speaker 9: but they're saying it like she's covering a pre-existing song
- 1:31:29Speaker 9: because this person was such.
- 1:31:30Speaker 12: A huge celebrity.
- 1:31:32Speaker 9: Like it's kind of an interesting little game they play
- 1:31:35Speaker 9: in this that like, she kind of came in and
- 1:31:37Speaker 9: filled the role of writing it, but then kind of
- 1:31:40Speaker 9: just steps back and is like, oh, here's the Melissa
- 1:31:43Speaker 9: Etheridge cover of it. And it's actually, I think, a
- 1:31:45Speaker 9: pretty great song. So this is, again, cheesy enough to
- 1:31:48Speaker 9: work the name into the title. In Roxy's eyes, but
- 1:31:52Speaker 9: the parentheses are the real song. It's I Will Never
- 1:31:55Speaker 9: Be The Same, which if you've heard it, you'll know
- 1:31:57Speaker 9: it because of that.
- 1:31:57Speaker 39: So you walked with me for a while.
- 1:32:04Speaker 37: Bared your naked soul And you told me.
- 1:32:11Speaker 39: Of your plan How you would never let them know In.
- 1:32:19Speaker 23: The morning of the night You cried a long lost
- 1:32:27Speaker 23: child And I tried, oh, I tried to hold you But.
- 1:32:33Speaker 7: You were young and.
- 1:32:37Speaker 15: You were wild But I, I will never.
- 1:32:44Speaker 7: Be the same.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Oh, I I will never be the same Caught.
- 1:32:56Speaker 7: In your eyes Lost in your.
- 1:32:59Speaker 39: Name I will never be the same Secrets of your.
- 1:33:15Speaker 19: Life I never wanted for myself But you guarded them
- 1:33:24Speaker 19: like a light.
- 1:33:28Speaker 7: Placed upon my shelf. In the morning of the.
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: Night when I woke to find you gone.
- 1:33:43Speaker 37: I knew your distant devil Must be dragging you home
- 1:33:53Speaker 37: But I, I will never be the same, oh I.
- 1:34:13Speaker 7: I will never be.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: The same That you were.
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: Bound for glory And for wanting You had no shame
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: But I loved you And I lost you.
- 1:34:58Speaker 7: And I will never be the same.
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: Oh, I I will never be the same Oh, I.
- 1:35:12Speaker 7: I will never be the.
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: Same Caught in your eyes Lost in your name And
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: don't think I'm aware of this, Melissa.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: Again, first two albums.
- 1:36:33Speaker 9: I'm going to make some recommendations as we go. Go back.
- 1:36:36Speaker 9: That first album, she's pretty underplayed. Again, because she was broke.
- 1:36:42Speaker 9: By the second one, it's a good studio album. She's
- 1:36:45Speaker 9: got studio financing, but she's still writing really good her
- 1:36:50Speaker 9: younger self stuff.
- 1:36:52Speaker 12: It's worth checking out. Brave and Crazy is pretty fucking good.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: I've never thought that she was awful or anything. I
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: just like, I'm from like the come to my window era.
- 1:37:03Speaker 9: And so, which again, that was like two albums later,
- 1:37:06Speaker 9: I think. And by then I think she'd gotten so popular,
- 1:37:09Speaker 9: but I feel like she still had some really good
- 1:37:11Speaker 9: songwriting skills.
- 1:37:12Speaker 12: So yeah, those first two albums, check them out.
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: I will do that.
- 1:37:15Speaker 9: Uh, what are your thoughts on, should I stay or
- 1:37:19Speaker 9: should I go?
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: Uh, I think that one probably turned out all right.
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: It was the, really the first song of the night.
- 1:37:25Speaker 9: And so kicked things off after the stranger things.
- 1:37:28Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, and it's definitely a pretty straightforward punk song.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: It's hard to screw it up too bad.
- 1:37:35Speaker 9: That one I felt like I can see you guys
- 1:37:37Speaker 9: doing that anyway. So that one seemed very fitting.
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: Yeah, we did The Clash. We did Police and Thieves
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: at the last.
- 1:37:45Speaker 12: At West Fest.
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: Our first West Fest, we did it. So yeah, it's
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: been several years now. And I'm not even super well-versed
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: on The Clash and punk music. I like rock and
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: roll enough that I've definitely... listen to the Ramones and
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: clash and the sex pistols. And I know the stories
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: and stuff. It just, that was never a kind of
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: music that like reached out and grabbed my soul by
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: any means. But Greg grew up in a different time.
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: Like he, he remembers when they were releasing albums. And
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: so we had him sing lead on that, which was nice. Uh,
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: I like when he sings, it definitely brings more of
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: a variety to the show. It makes us, makes it
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: easier to learn more songs, uh, So one person doesn't
- 1:38:25Speaker 2: have to memorize a bunch of crazy lyrics.
- 1:38:27Speaker 12: Yeah, that's true. Going into these.
- 1:38:29Speaker 9: I do feel like that's got to be a challenge
- 1:38:31Speaker 9: for you guys, because you initially were doing mostly your
- 1:38:35Speaker 9: own songs, all of your other shows out there, so
- 1:38:38Speaker 9: when you do these special events that mostly Heather's put
- 1:38:41Speaker 9: together over the years, it's like it is interesting to
- 1:38:43Speaker 9: throw an entire new lineup at you that you're playing
- 1:38:46Speaker 9: a whole bunch of other people's stuff all night long.
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: That's, this is definitely the most too. Yeah. We've done,
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: we've done probably like five or six shows where we
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: did entire sets of other people, other people's music. And,
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: you know, we did the B 52s tribute for like
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: a year and a half. We did several shows as
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: that and learned probably 90 minutes of their material. Um, But,
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: you know, the first West Fest, we only did five songs,
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: I think. And this, or I guess the first one
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: we did. And then the last West Fest, we did
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: probably eight or nine songs. But, you know, like that
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: was pretty challenging because we like to mix it up. So, like,
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: Rachel did the La Temps Amour, I think is the
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: name of the song. And so she learned it in French.
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: And I did one of the Suede. sue george covers
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: uh in portuguese of david bowie and so it's like
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: that's a lot more to do yeah like i had
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: to go get a lesson.
- 1:39:42Speaker 9: You're not fluent in portuguese yeah.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: My friend jose that plays in the band appalachian and
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: karaoke club as well they are very good uh he
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: speaks like three or four different languages and so he
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: offered to give me a lesson so i went over
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: there with the lyrics and we sat down for a
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: few hours and he just kind of went through the
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: song and taught me how to do it and it
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: was you know it's cool it was very i never
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: learned a song in a different language but it it
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: takes a lot of time. And so this one, you know,
- 1:40:07Speaker 2: we've actually haven't been playing live much lately. We've been,
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: we've been, uh, recording in the studio. And so we've been,
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: we have 19 songs we're working on and a lot
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: of them, like we're getting a lot more psychedelic, I guess,
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: which is crazy. It took us this long because like
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: when we've always taken LSD in the studio and And
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: it's just like the first album, like that was the
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: first thing we did was take LSD.
- 1:40:34Speaker 16: And then finally kicked in.
- 1:40:35Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: And it was like, you know, like we put out
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: like a five song folk record with like fiddle and stuff.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: And so like this album is, it's a lot stranger
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: and it's exploring a lot of different genres. And so
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: we've been taking a lot more time on it. And
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: so when Heather approached me, I honestly didn't really want
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: to do the event because I didn't want to switch focus.
- 1:40:55Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: But we hadn't played live in so long, and I
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: knew it was going to be a great event. And
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: I like working with Heather, and I love what FIBA does.
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: And I knew we would have fun. And so we
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: ended up switching gears. And so for the last six weeks,
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: we've all had to just been buckling down and been
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: listening to the songs every day and taking lyrics in
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: the car with me in any chance I get. parking
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: and going over it. And I think we all, we
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: all had to do a lot like that. And so,
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: and then we did a whole rehearsal and six hours
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: on Thursday night, then had a TV appearance on Friday morning, uh, from,
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: we had to be there from eight to 11. Then
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: we got back together Friday evening from six till about
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: one or 2 AM. And then the next day we
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: got together at noon till about five. before the event,
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: and then went from that rehearsal straight to the event
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: and soundchecked and then played at whatever time we played. Rachel,
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: like a goddamn rock star, walked on stage in the
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: middle of that first song. I wanted so bad to
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: be mad at her because she's always late. And I
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: was like, this is crazy that somebody could be this late.
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: The event was postponed. We were starting the event late
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: because she's not there. And she's not answering the phone.
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: Everybody's freaking out. I was like, this is fucked up.
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: And so we got on stage and started playing the
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: first song. And I knew. I knew. I knew she
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: was going to rock star it. I knew it.
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: And I was.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: I was just like, damn it. Let us just get
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: through this first song. She's not that necessary for the
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: first song. She's a singing backup. She's not leading it.
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: And I was like, and then I'd have a legitimate
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: reason to be mad at her because she would have
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: missed the whole song.
- 1:42:37Speaker 16: It's like, that's not cool, bro.
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: But she came in like a fucking rock star right
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: before she was even supposed to start singing.
- 1:42:44Speaker 16: And everybody's like, solid. She's in her costume.
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: I was like, I love you. And I kind of
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: hate you at the same time right now.
- 1:42:50Speaker 9: Walked in and fixed her Lydia hair and right up
- 1:42:53Speaker 9: to the mic.
- 1:42:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:42:55Speaker 12: Freaking rock stars.
- 1:42:57Speaker 2: It was a rock star move.
- 1:42:58Speaker 5: Get on your nerves.
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: She's got a pretty rock star attitude as of late,
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: so I'm not surprised.
- 1:43:03Speaker 28: Darling, you've got to let me know.
- 1:43:21Speaker 5: Should I stay or should I go?
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: If you say that you are mine I'll be.
- 1:43:29Speaker 5: Here till the end of time.
- 1:43:32Speaker 6: So you've got to let me know Should I stay
- 1:43:37Speaker 6: or should I go? It's always taste, taste, taste I'm
- 1:43:44Speaker 6: happy when I'm on my knees One day it's fine
- 1:43:49Speaker 6: and next it's black So if you want me on
- 1:43:53Speaker 6: your back Come on and let me know Should I
- 1:44:00Speaker 6: stay or should I go? Should I stay or should
- 1:44:05Speaker 6: I go now?
- 1:44:08Speaker 27: Should I stay or should I go now?
- 1:44:12Speaker 6: If I stay there will be trouble If I go
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: there will be.
- 1:44:17Speaker 7: Trouble So come on and let me know.
- 1:44:25Speaker 5: This indecision's bugging me.
- 1:44:29Speaker 6: If you don't want me, set me free.
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: Exactly who am I supposed to be? Don't your clothes
- 1:44:39Speaker 5: even fit me?
- 1:44:41Speaker 6: So you're moaning, let me know.
- 1:44:45Speaker 5: Should I stay or should I blow?
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: Split! Should I stay or should I go?
- 1:45:17Speaker 27: Should I stay or should I go now?
- 1:45:21Speaker 6: If I stay there will be trouble.
- 1:45:25Speaker 5: If I go there will be trouble.
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: So you've got to let me know.
- 1:45:32Speaker 5: Should I stay or should I go? Should I stay
- 1:45:37Speaker 5: or should I go.
- 1:45:40Speaker 9: Now?
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: If I go there will be trouble. If I stay
- 1:45:45Speaker 5: there will be trouble. So you gotta let me know
- 1:45:49Speaker 5: Should I.
- 1:45:49Speaker 6: Stay or should I go?
- 1:45:51Speaker 5: Before I wanted to get in, because I think at
- 1:45:52Speaker 5: some point Heather played it in between.
- 1:45:53Speaker 9: Songs, but I'm like, yeah, that's a good fit. And
- 1:46:18Speaker 9: it's a pretty awesome song. I did want to throw
- 1:46:21Speaker 9: in Road to Nowhere from Reality Bites.
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: She did play that song.
- 1:46:25Speaker 12: She did.
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: I was kind of disappointed, like, we didn't play that song.
- 1:46:28Speaker 9: I was kind of, I was like, that would have
- 1:46:30Speaker 9: worked pretty well.
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: We never covered the Talking Heads, and it just, like,
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: I don't know, the list just got too long, and
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: things had to get cut, and so, I don't know.
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: But I love the Talking Heads, and I was happy
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: to hear that song.
- 1:47:04Speaker 20: We'll take that ride. Come on inside.
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: And it's very far away, but it's growing day by day.
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: And it's all right. Baby, it's all right. Would you
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: like to come and.
- 1:48:54Speaker 7: Help me sing this song?
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: And it's all right. Baby, it's all right. I'll tell
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: you what you're gonna pay for.
- 1:50:02Speaker 7: We're on a road to nowhere.
- 1:50:05Speaker 9: Yeah, I think that gets worked in in the weird little...
- 1:50:10Speaker 9: In the early days of, you know, once again, Reality
- 1:50:13Speaker 9: Bites being sort of ahead of the curve, kind of
- 1:50:17Speaker 9: just making fun of MTV. But at the same time,
- 1:50:20Speaker 9: who would have known at that point in time how
- 1:50:24Speaker 9: much reality television would actually become a thing? Because they're
- 1:50:28Speaker 9: making the joke of, like, what a weird bastardized thing...
- 1:50:32Speaker 9: Ben Stiller makes this, like, bastardized version of her films
- 1:50:37Speaker 9: that seems like something dumb that would be on MTV.
- 1:50:39Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:50:40Speaker 9: And then, like, so they, I believe that's where they
- 1:50:42Speaker 9: work in, Road to Nowhere, is in that little wrap-up
- 1:50:44Speaker 9: at the end of his weird version of her footage. And,
- 1:50:50Speaker 9: you know, Pizza Hut plugs.
- 1:50:51Speaker 36: But.
- 1:50:52Speaker 9: Which is fine with me. I'm like, you know, that's
- 1:50:55Speaker 9: the price you pay to get your stuff out there.
- 1:50:57Speaker 9: You gotta find somebody to pay for it. So, Pizza Hut,
- 1:51:00Speaker 9: I'm waiting to hear from you is what I'm saying. But, yeah,
- 1:51:03Speaker 9: in addition to that, I thought that was a good
- 1:51:05Speaker 9: place for it to pop up and reason that we
- 1:51:07Speaker 9: need to work it in here.
- 1:51:09Speaker 16: On the road to nowhere.
- 1:51:13Speaker 9: Plus, we've already played, you know, our dear friend, Lisa Loeb.
- 1:51:18Speaker 9: I've played her on previous episodes.
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: Lisa Loeb?
- 1:51:21Speaker 12: Starring Lisa Loeb.
- 1:51:22Speaker 9: So go back and find that if you didn't hear it,
- 1:51:24Speaker 9: because previous guests.
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: She's a, you say, you only want what you can't have. Right?
- 1:51:31Speaker 9: I don't know if that's exactly the lyrics.
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: I don't know if it's something like that.
- 1:51:34Speaker 16: That's the song. That's the gist.
- 1:51:36Speaker 9: Lisa, fire up an angry email to this guy.
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: All right. Yeah, it's me. It's me. Sorry. I'm not
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: super aware of your career, Lisa.
- 1:51:46Speaker 12: She is still out there.
- 1:51:47Speaker 5: I know, she's adorable.
- 1:51:48Speaker 9: Fighting the good fight. And gotta say, sitting across from her,
- 1:51:51Speaker 9: still freaking adorable. It's ridiculous.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: You've had her on as a guest?
- 1:51:55Speaker 9: Yeah, and again, at this point in time, it'd be
- 1:51:58Speaker 9: different if maybe this was like 20-something Lisa looked.
- 1:52:01Speaker 12: That damn cute.
- 1:52:02Speaker 9: But damn, she still looks that cute.
- 1:52:04Speaker 5: It's ridiculous.
- 1:52:05Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 1:52:06Speaker 9: So yeah, while we're, you know, we already played that.
- 1:52:09Speaker 9: We got some Road to Nowhere in there. So we,
- 1:52:11Speaker 9: once again, the era of the CD. I brought this
- 1:52:13Speaker 9: just so to have a visual.
- 1:52:15Speaker 12: For you because you guys at home can't see it.
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: This is one that I've seen.
- 1:52:18Speaker 9: I'm assuming you've heard a few of these songs. And
- 1:52:22Speaker 9: there's actually some other decent stuff. Maybe I'll return to
- 1:52:25Speaker 9: it on a future episode. But I figure the one
- 1:52:28Speaker 9: that's sort of synonymous with Winona dancing around. If any
- 1:52:32Speaker 9: time I hear this song, I'm usually picturing Winona dancing
- 1:52:36Speaker 9: around in a quickie mart somewhere. So you have to
- 1:52:39Speaker 9: kind of, that's your go-to if you're a Winona geek. Anyway,
- 1:52:43Speaker 9: so I figured that was also a good way to
- 1:52:46Speaker 9: round this out. So do you have any, yeah, this
- 1:52:52Speaker 9: was the rounding out of the night as well for you. We,
- 1:52:56Speaker 9: as said, you've gone off the rails by that point.
- 1:52:58Speaker 9: Things were insane. So do you have any, well, what
- 1:53:02Speaker 9: recollections you have? Because you probably, tequila was kicking.
- 1:53:05Speaker 5: In by then.
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: No, I mean, it wasn't that bad. Tequila was not
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: nearly the most intoxicating thing that was going on with
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: me that night. That's probably true. But what point of
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: the night are we talking about? After a round and round, right?
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: We got to downtown.
- 1:53:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: This downtown town. I don't know why we didn't do
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: the B-52's version of Downtown, because that was on their
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: first album. I mean, it's actually kind of whiny. I
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: guess that's why we didn't do it.
- 1:53:35Speaker 16: Downtown!
- 1:53:37Speaker 9: Wait, Fred being whiny?
- 1:53:39Speaker 12: That seems unlikely.
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just like an organ, too, just playing the part.
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: I don't even know if there's much guitar or drums.
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: So yeah, Downtown was interesting.
- 1:53:50Speaker 12: Interesting. And then my Sharon.
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: Was that next?
- 1:53:56Speaker 9: That's how we round things out. Yeah. It's time and
- 1:53:58Speaker 9: right into my Sharon.
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: That was true. And that, that my friend, I think
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: that is where I finally just let her loose.
- 1:54:08Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: Let the demon go.
- 1:54:10Speaker 9: The question I have is there's a lot of sticky talk. Yeah.
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: I like that. Oh, that's, that's not new. That wasn't
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: just straight up off the top of my head. Um,
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: But I brought it back around, right?
- 1:54:22Speaker 30: Because we've got to stick together.
- 1:54:25Speaker 9: Yeah, it was random gross reference. And then it was
- 1:54:29Speaker 9: just like, but wait, how can I make this a
- 1:54:32Speaker 9: real thing?
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:54:33Speaker 9: So yeah, you pulled it up and we're like, no, no, no.
- 1:54:36Speaker 16: We've all got it.
- 1:54:37Speaker 12: So yeah.
- 1:54:39Speaker 9: You guys will hear it.
- 1:54:40Speaker 12: It'll be great.
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: Oh, great.
- 1:54:41Speaker 16: I can't wait to listen to that.
- 1:54:43Speaker 12: You'll be inspired like we all were that night.
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I hope so. I will need to take. As
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: many shots of tequila before I listen back to it.
- 1:54:52Speaker 9: You guys are invited to it at home if you want.
- 1:54:54Speaker 9: I'm not saying you have to.
- 1:54:56Speaker 12: I don't support such things. But feel free to.
- 1:54:59Speaker 10: What do I care?
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: It might help. It might help. I don't know. I
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: have not heard the version since it happened. And it's
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: an extended version, too. It is.
- 1:55:08Speaker 20: It is.
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: Do you have a time on it?
- 1:55:09Speaker 16: Do you know how long it is?
- 1:55:11Speaker 12: Not yet. We can check.
- 1:55:13Speaker 9: You can experience it with them. We'll play it, and
- 1:55:15Speaker 9: you can be like, what the hell.
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: Is it doing?
- 1:55:17Speaker 24: Okay, yeah.
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. That's great. Yeah, it's an extended version of
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: My Sharona. My Sharona is a really gross song, Brian.
- 1:55:27Speaker 9: It's also catchy as hell.
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: It is a great song.
- 1:55:30Speaker 9: So it kind of works in both angles.
- 1:55:32Speaker 16: It's catchy.
- 1:55:33Speaker 2: It rocks. Once again, we're back to the 80s stuff
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: that I wasn't super into. Well, that's not 80s. That's 70s, right?
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: That came out in like 70s. I bet that came
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: out in 76. To the Googles! Let's see. I'm going
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: to say 70, 76. That's pretty early. Maybe 78.
- 1:55:55Speaker 9: My Sharona is a debut single by The Knack.
- 1:55:57Speaker 12: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And released in 1979.
- 1:56:01Speaker 18: Oh!
- 1:56:02Speaker 9: From their album, Get The Knack.
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: Well, there we go. So, you know, it's just barely 70s.
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: But 79 was still a great year for music. So, like,
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: that song is... That's definitely different. It's not just like
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: synth pop as Duran Duran. It's definitely more rock and
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: roll based. It seems like very bare bones kind of
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: rock and roll.
- 1:56:22Speaker 9: It's kind of bringing back something that had already started
- 1:56:25Speaker 9: to get sort of bastardized into new forms of music.
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: Yeah. And if you listen to the recording of it,
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: that guitar solo is really cool. When it goes to
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: the break for the first time. It does that... And
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: the guitar comes like really hot in over top of it.
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: Just like way up in the mix. Like, whoa, man.
- 1:56:46Speaker 16: It's cool. It definitely.
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: I never sat down and listened to my Sharona that detailed.
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: And I was like, damn, that's just some straight board
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: rock and roll. So it was.
- 1:56:55Speaker 16: That was.
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: Immediately when I listened to everything we decided on, I
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: was like, that's got to be The Closer.
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: Yeah, we know.
- 1:57:02Speaker 9: And even now, I was like, you either open or
- 1:57:04Speaker 9: close with that. It's one or the other. Yeah, it's
- 1:57:07Speaker 9: such a huge song. And especially connected to the geeks
- 1:57:11Speaker 9: who care about Reality Bites. It has such a tie
- 1:57:14Speaker 9: to that movie and her character. So yeah, you kind
- 1:57:17Speaker 9: of have to go out on it. That's what we'll
- 1:57:20Speaker 9: do as well.
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: Right on. So when that song started happening and all
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: the crazy... Sticky talk started happening.
- 1:57:30Speaker 12: Just preparing you guys at home.
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: Just losing my mind on this stage with personal issues.
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: I just moved into this new house.
- 1:57:40Speaker 9: It's very nice, by the way.
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 1:57:42Speaker 9: I came to invade your space and do this.
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: Yeah, we're in my home today. It's very nice. It's
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: like my first home, too. I've been in houses with roommates.
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: The roommate I have here has a own space upstairs
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: and he's rarely here too so like I have a
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: lot of like personal home space here so I've been
- 1:58:02Speaker 2: dealing with that and I also have a job I
- 1:58:06Speaker 2: guess but I'm going to England for a month and
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: I'm going next week and so I've also been like
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: trying to deal with like moving into the house and
- 1:58:16Speaker 2: you know everything that comes along with being a human
- 1:58:18Speaker 2: being so like in the moment of my Sharona I
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: don't know it was just like that was I've been
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: I've honestly been stressing about the show for so long
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: learning the songs confronting the personal issues I'm dealing with
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: at the show.
- 1:58:35Speaker 9: And they manifest themselves in the middle of my Sharona.
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it was just like when we hit my Sharona, I'm...
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: i'm done i'm free like this is it like this
- 1:58:46Speaker 2: is a fucking made.
- 1:58:47Speaker 9: It rounding out the night i've accomplished everything i need.
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: To so i mean to be straightforward i wasn't handling
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: things so well and the band was pretty adamant about
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: a week ago that maybe we would need to find
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: somebody to replace me for the show and i was
- 1:59:01Speaker 2: like absolutely fucking not it's like that's the nope that's
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: not not gonna happen and so you know i felt
- 1:59:08Speaker 2: a lot of like I feel ownership with the band,
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: of course, but they weren't, they were like, we'll call
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: it something different. We'll just, you know, we won't call
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: it Nelly Pearl. So I appreciate that respect. But at
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: the same time, like, you know, Heather called me to
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: ask if we would be interested in the show. And
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: I am not saying that like the show wouldn't have
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: happened without us, but like we were her go-to band.
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: And it's like, if you guys can do it, the
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: show's on, we're gonna, we're gonna do it. And so
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: when I signed on, like, you know, it was like,
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: She would call me a lot and, like, hey, what
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: do you think about this idea? What do you think
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: about this? And so I feel like I was working
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: with her more closely than probably anybody. And, like, I
- 1:59:47Speaker 2: didn't do a lot. We had, like, two meetings about
- 1:59:49Speaker 2: sound and, like, song lists and stuff. But just bouncing
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: ideas and stuff and some phone calls. And so I
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: definitely felt some ownership on the event itself and helping
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: make sure that, like, It was a great party for everybody.
- 2:00:02Speaker 9: You being responsible was like, well, I obviously need to
- 2:00:06Speaker 9: be there then.
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: It wasn't even just I needed to be there. It
- 2:00:10Speaker 2: was like, fuck that. I'm not going to do all this.
- 2:00:14Speaker 2: I'm going to be there. If there's somebody that's not
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: going to be there, it's going to be about a
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: billion other people and it's not going to be me.
- 2:00:22Speaker 2: I kind of kicked my thing into high gear and
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: I started working a lot harder at it and just
- 2:00:29Speaker 2: being an adult and pulling it together. And I think
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: a lot of people were very surprised. I think a
- 2:00:35Speaker 2: lot of people were very surprised that I could be
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: an adult. And, uh, I was, I'm impressed. I was
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: impressed as well, Brian. I was very shocked, but so in,
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: in that moment of my Sharona, that was like the
- 2:00:50Speaker 2: last chance I'm going to get to like play some
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: serious rock and roll for a while. You know, we don't,
- 2:00:55Speaker 2: we don't have another show booked until July. And, uh,
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: It's like the last time I was going to see
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: a lot of my friends because I'm going to be
- 2:01:03Speaker 2: leaving for a month. It's the last time I might
- 2:01:06Speaker 2: see some of my bandmates for a while. Greg lives
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: far away. We all are kind of going in different directions,
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: it seems, for a minute. And so it was just
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: a lot of things at once. And I don't like
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: to leave anything on the stage. And the people are
- 2:01:24Speaker 2: there and the people are there. raging and they were
- 2:01:26Speaker 2: definitely keyed up at that point there was a lot
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: and they were packed you know like it at some
- 2:01:31Speaker 2: point in the night like people just started moving up
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: into that room instead of staying back in the in
- 2:01:36Speaker 2: the backspace and it filled up and when it when
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: that happens there's a i'm not a spiritual person or
- 2:01:44Speaker 2: religious or anything by that but like at a rock
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: show when somebody's giving it their all yeah in the
- 2:01:50Speaker 2: crowd or on stage the vice versa is is going
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: to feel that. And depending on how many people you
- 2:01:57Speaker 2: got there, what kind of people you have there, you
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: could have a really great experience where people are feeding
- 2:02:02Speaker 2: off of each other's energy.
- 2:02:03Speaker 9: And so it's a vibe that they get going.
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: It's a real thing. It's a real thing. And so like,
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: I'm surprised I didn't, if the stage was higher, I
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: would have dove. I would have, I would have taken
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: a big old dive off that stage. Uh, I did
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: that the last West fest, actually. I don't know if
- 2:02:18Speaker 2: you were there for that one. I, I dove off
- 2:02:20Speaker 2: the stage and into a girl on a moped and,
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: And Heather's brother, Phil, and the security guard, I smashed
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: into them. I'm sure they all appreciated it. Yeah. So
- 2:02:34Speaker 2: that kind of came close to that. But I don't know.
- 2:02:37Speaker 2: We talked a lot about the stickiness. I just really
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: love what FIBA does. And so that was the main
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: driving force for me to want to do the show
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: is because I don't go to– fucking soup kitchens and
- 2:02:51Speaker 2: feed homeless and stuff. Like I'll help somebody if I
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: can help somebody. I have definitely taken homeless people back
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: to my house and let them stay with me and
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: weird stuff like that. Like it's more than probably dangerous,
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: dangerous at points, but like I've, I'm definitely willing to
- 2:03:06Speaker 2: help a person in need, but I don't like spend
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: a lot of time seeking that out. And so FIBA does.
- 2:03:13Speaker 2: And when FIBA seeks us out as like their go-to band, um,
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: to make this event better and, and to promote what
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: they do.
- 2:03:22Speaker 9: I love that.
- 2:03:22Speaker 2: And I love that I am able to do something
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: I love that helps other people and, you know, indirectly
- 2:03:29Speaker 2: or directly. And so I really, really love FIBA. So
- 2:03:32Speaker 2: I got, you know, super jazzed about everybody being there
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: and being in a good space and a good mood
- 2:03:38Speaker 2: and supporting a good cause. So, you know, stickiness came up.
- 2:03:43Speaker 2: It was bound to get sticky.
- 2:03:45Speaker 12: Things certainly got sticky.
- 2:03:47Speaker 9: But that's what, yeah, before we totally go out, I
- 2:03:50Speaker 9: was going to throw that out there.
- 2:03:51Speaker 12: That is kind of what they do.
- 2:03:54Speaker 9: I don't know if we want to go into all
- 2:03:55Speaker 9: of the details, but if nothing else, to learn more
- 2:03:59Speaker 9: about FIVA and all of their projects and their general
- 2:04:03Speaker 9: mission that they're working on, go to fairvendors.org and maybe
- 2:04:08Speaker 9: you can be part of it too.
- 2:04:09Speaker 2: You can be part of it.
- 2:04:10Speaker 12: I think so.
- 2:04:11Speaker 2: You can totally be part of it because queers deserve
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: pizza too, Brian. At some point you did. For real.
- 2:04:19Speaker 2: We all deserve pizza. It's just fucked up that people
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: don't think. Other people deserve pizza.
- 2:04:23Speaker 12: How about chicken or fish? Do they get chicken or fish?
- 2:04:26Speaker 5: People deserve whatever the fuck they want.
- 2:04:28Speaker 16: That's what I think.
- 2:04:29Speaker 12: And that's what FEMA says.
- 2:04:30Speaker 2: That is what... Get on board with them, people. I
- 2:04:32Speaker 2: don't know if that's... That's not an official statement. That's
- 2:04:34Speaker 2: not an official statement.
- 2:04:36Speaker 9: We have their official mission statement here, but we're just
- 2:04:38Speaker 9: winging it. So just instead go to fairvendors.org and you'll
- 2:04:42Speaker 9: find out everything you need to know about FEMA.
- 2:04:44Speaker 16: Yes.
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: And the next time you can find out where their
- 2:04:47Speaker 2: events are.
- 2:04:48Speaker 12: And come be part of it.
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: Come be part of it. I'll gladly... Spill your drink
- 2:04:53Speaker 2: all over you.
- 2:04:54Speaker 12: There might be stickiness. You'll find out.
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: I did make a couple people sticky, which was wonderful.
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: Because at the end of my Sharona, I jumped too high,
- 2:05:04Speaker 2: too drunk. And I fell back into the crowd. And
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: I believe I knocked over a lot of stuff on
- 2:05:11Speaker 2: the stage. Somebody described it as an implosion. So there
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: was equipment that imploded. Like a keyboard and a mic stand.
- 2:05:19Speaker 12: Another Stranger Things kind of a deal.
- 2:05:21Speaker 9: You got sucked into the upside-down area.
- 2:05:26Speaker 2: Some people in the crowd helped me back up. I
- 2:05:28Speaker 2: got up, and then I stumbled. I lumbered. I lumbered
- 2:05:35Speaker 2: through the crowd to the front door, smashing into this
- 2:05:39Speaker 2: poor girl, spilling her drink all over both of us,
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: and just right out into the street in the rain,
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: and I just took off running down the middle of
- 2:05:46Speaker 2: the street. And I sprinted as far as I could
- 2:05:49Speaker 2: down the street until I just couldn't do it anymore.
- 2:05:53Speaker 12: That's what happened.
- 2:05:54Speaker 2: That's what happened. That's how the rock show ended, was
- 2:05:57Speaker 2: with a couple girls getting very sticky in a bad way,
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: with drinks spilled on them, and me not sticking with them.
- 2:06:06Speaker 9: Me, I just gathered up my cords and whatnot and
- 2:06:11Speaker 9: went home. Everyone else partied the rest of the night,
- 2:06:14Speaker 9: but I'm just... I'm there.
- 2:06:16Speaker 12: I got a job to do. I'm focused and antisocial.
- 2:06:20Speaker 9: So these are the things I do. I just loitered
- 2:06:22Speaker 9: about and some dude threw paper at me and then
- 2:06:25Speaker 9: I got my equipment and I went home.
- 2:06:26Speaker 2: I did throw paper at you.
- 2:06:29Speaker 12: A couple of them.
- 2:06:30Speaker 9: It's all out of love. It's all out of love
- 2:06:33Speaker 9: and stickiness. Sometimes they go together. Love and stickiness.
- 2:06:38Speaker 10: I like that.
- 2:06:39Speaker 2: Joe's Crab Shack has it all wrong.
- 2:06:42Speaker 12: It's all about love and stickiness.
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: Peace, love, and stickiness.
- 2:06:46Speaker 9: Alright, so on that note, I think we're rounding things
- 2:06:50Speaker 9: out here.
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: We're going to actually hear My Sharona. I'm going to
- 2:06:54Speaker 2: experience it with the listener for the first time. Your
- 2:06:58Speaker 2: cringe might not be the first cringe that's cringeworthy. Maybe
- 2:07:05Speaker 2: you're not going to hear it now because it was
- 2:07:06Speaker 2: too cringeworthy for me.
- 2:07:08Speaker 9: Oh no, we're all going to live through it. We're
- 2:07:10Speaker 9: all going to experience My Sharona. And with that, I
- 2:07:16Speaker 9: will remind you, Get a Life will provide the soundtrack
- 2:07:18Speaker 9: like this one.
- 2:07:19Speaker 18: So this next song, we've been preaching equality and gender
- 2:07:24Speaker 18: rights and shit like this, and the next song totally
- 2:07:26Speaker 18: disregards all of that shit, but I didn't write it,
- 2:07:31Speaker 18: and it was in a Winona film.
- 2:07:32Speaker 5: We'll all have a good time, but, you know, till
- 2:07:36Speaker 5: the next time. Thank you guys again.
- 2:07:54Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you.
