- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, it's time for Second Date Update. You meet
- 0:01Speaker 1: somebody on an app, a church, a bar, through your parents. However,
- 0:06Speaker 1: you go on a date with them. You have a
- 0:07Speaker 1: great time. You expect there to be a second date,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and there isn't one. And you don't know why you
- 0:11Speaker 1: haven't got called for the second date. So you come
- 0:13Speaker 1: to us. We're going to find out why. Let us
- 0:15Speaker 1: say hello to Fiona. Good morning, Fiona. Welcome to Second
- 0:18Speaker 1: Date Update.
- 0:18Speaker 2: John Jay and Rich.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Good morning. Hi.
- 0:21Speaker 4: Hi.
- 0:21Speaker 2: What's your story?
- 0:23Speaker 3: Okay, so I went on this date with this guy,
- 0:25Speaker 3: and now he's completely ghosting me.
- 0:28Speaker 5: And.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I mean, at this point, I am honestly just, like,
- 0:31Speaker 3: more confused than her because I don't really understand why
- 0:34Speaker 3: he would ghost me. Because I paid for the entire dinner. Like,
- 0:39Speaker 3: the entire meal I paid for. And I felt like
- 0:42Speaker 3: I was the one that was carrying on the conversation
- 0:44Speaker 3: the entire time. Like, almost to the level where I
- 0:47Speaker 3: felt like I was an interviewer and he was, like,
- 0:49Speaker 3: a candidate, like, at a job or something. And I
- 0:51Speaker 3: was asking all the questions. And I was, like, trying
- 0:54Speaker 3: to keep it fun, make sure there weren't awkward silences. And, like,
- 0:57Speaker 3: I just feel like I did... the heavy lifting, and
- 1:01Speaker 3: I didn't even think the date was even that bad. Like,
- 1:04Speaker 3: even with me doing all that work, I felt like, okay, this, like,
- 1:06Speaker 3: still isn't bad. But now I'm sitting here, like, why
- 1:10Speaker 3: would you be ghosting me after I fed you and, like,
- 1:13Speaker 3: entertained you for, like, over two hours? I just think
- 1:17Speaker 3: that's actually insane behavior. So I just want to know
- 1:20Speaker 3: what happened at this point. And it's less about, like,
- 1:22Speaker 3: getting another date and more about, like, I don't know, the, like,
- 1:25Speaker 3: audacity of this man.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I get it. I get it.
- 1:29Speaker 4: He should be wanting to get a second date with you.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, that's what I thought. I think I'm
- 1:34Speaker 3: a great date, so I'm just really confused.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Did the date end with any kind of romance or
- 1:38Speaker 1: make-out session or anything?
- 1:41Speaker 3: Definitely not like a make-out, but I definitely thought that
- 1:43Speaker 3: we held eye contact really well, especially at the end.
- 1:46Speaker 3: So I felt kind of this lingering thing. I was like, okay, well,
- 1:50Speaker 3: maybe he's just shy and he is trying to be respectful,
- 1:54Speaker 3: which I actually really liked.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Was there anything like, you know, at the end of
- 1:58Speaker 1: the day, like, hey, did he text you to make
- 2:00Speaker 1: sure you got home safe?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Was there any caring at all?
- 2:03Speaker 3: He didn't text me. But again, I felt like, you know,
- 2:06Speaker 3: maybe he's like trying not to come on too strong
- 2:08Speaker 3: because he really did like me, you know, like, because
- 2:10Speaker 3: I just, I was feeling like we had vibes. during
- 2:12Speaker 3: the date. So I was just kind of confused.
- 2:15Speaker 5: I hope that's not his MO, like just going on
- 2:17Speaker 5: dates just to get a free meal. Like, how did
- 2:19Speaker 5: you end up paying for the, like for the meal? Like,
- 2:22Speaker 5: what did he forget his card?
- 2:23Speaker 4: Or were you like, Oh, I got it.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Like, cause I don't think I would be down to
- 2:26Speaker 5: pay for a first date.
- 2:28Speaker 3: I wouldn't, but I felt like he like went to
- 2:30Speaker 3: the bathroom right before the check came. And I felt
- 2:33Speaker 3: like he was kind of gone for a little bit.
- 2:35Speaker 3: So I was like, you know what? I'll get this
- 2:37Speaker 3: first one. Maybe he will think that that's like nice
- 2:39Speaker 3: or cute or something. Cause I'm sure he's so used
- 2:42Speaker 3: to like paying for meals. I would think that was
- 2:46Speaker 3: like kind of cute and cheeky, but he didn't even
- 2:49Speaker 3: really thank me.
- 2:50Speaker 4: He just kind of, that's weird.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:52Speaker 3: It got weird.
- 2:53Speaker 4: You think something happened when he was gone to go
- 2:55Speaker 4: to the bathroom?
- 2:56Speaker 3: I don't know. I just like, well, then I was like, well,
- 2:58Speaker 3: maybe he's like sick. Maybe he doesn't like feel super gray.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I don't know. It was so long. I was just like, okay,
- 3:02Speaker 3: at this point I'm just going to pay for it.
- 3:04Speaker 3: And I mean, if I was a man, I would
- 3:06Speaker 3: think that that was, like, nice and, like, sweet.
- 3:08Speaker 2: For sure. I wouldn't. That would bother me. That would
- 3:10Speaker 2: bother me. Maybe that's it. Maybe that's it. Maybe it's
- 3:12Speaker 2: that you took away his chivalry.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Why would he leave right at that time conveniently?
- 3:17Speaker 5: And also, like, if you come back and you realize
- 3:19Speaker 5: your date picked up the tab, like, hey, what's your Venmo?
- 3:21Speaker 4: Can I split it? Or at least.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Thank you. Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Or at least. That was really nice of you.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Maybe he was humiliated.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Maybe he comes from a culture where that's not cool.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I remember going to dinner with a guy from another country.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Two different guys from two different countries. And it's their
- 3:36Speaker 1: culture where they pick up the tab. And if you don't,
- 3:38Speaker 1: they get so pissed off and insulted.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Well, I want to hang out with them.
- 3:42Speaker 2: All right. What's his name, Fiona?
- 3:44Speaker 3: William.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Okay.
- 3:44Speaker 1: We're going to call William. We're going to find out
- 3:46Speaker 1: why he's blowing you off. Second Aid Update continues next
- 3:49Speaker 1: with John Jane Rich.
- 3:50Speaker 5: John Jane!
- 3:51Speaker 1: All right, we're in the middle of a second date update.
- 3:55Speaker 2: This is the.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Story of Fiona and William. The romantic comedy that never was.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Why would a guy ghost Fiona, especially when she paid
- 4:05Speaker 4: for the entire night? She did all the talking. She
- 4:09Speaker 4: asked questions. She brought the entertainment. She gave, as she says,
- 4:14Speaker 4: good date. But he is not responding at all. The
- 4:19Speaker 4: vibe check continues. The second date update starts right now.
- 4:22Speaker 2: You know, it's interesting.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Before you patch them through, I keep thinking Princess Fiona.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Isn't that Shrek? Yeah. And there's a Prince William. A
- 4:30Speaker 2: real one. We got a little Prince action going on here.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Very royal.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Anyway, Fiona, are you ready?
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yes, I'm so ready to find out.
- 4:37Speaker 2: All right. Patch them through. He's cool to go on air.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Hold on a second.
- 4:40Speaker 6: Hey, William.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, you're cool jumping on the air with us
- 4:44Speaker 2: real quick, right?
- 4:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Okay, so listen. We're talking to Fiona. She says you're
- 4:49Speaker 1: ghosting her. You went on a date. She asked us
- 4:53Speaker 1: to find out why. I thought we'd just kind of
- 4:55Speaker 1: get to it. Why are you blowing her off?
- 4:56Speaker 2: What happened? What are we missing here?
- 4:58Speaker 6: Dude, she's like six foot three, man. Like she's the
- 5:02Speaker 6: jolly green giant. I'm five 11 and a half and
- 5:06Speaker 6: I showed up and immediately was like, absolutely not. Like
- 5:09Speaker 6: I've never climbed a tree before and I'm not going.
- 5:11Speaker 2: To start now.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Like she did the whole time. She just kept talking
- 5:15Speaker 6: and I'm did you leave six and three out of
- 5:21Speaker 6: the conversation? Like, I like my girls little.
- 5:23Speaker 4: I would, I would look down.
- 5:24Speaker 6: I don't want to be making eye contact with your collarbone.
- 5:27Speaker 6: She's kind of a cool girl or whatever, but like,
- 5:30Speaker 6: I'm not trying to date someone who can get things
- 5:32Speaker 6: off the top shelf for me. You know what I'm saying?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Oh, my God. You talk about short man syndrome. William,
- 5:39Speaker 3: you are pathetic. So pathetic.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 5:42Speaker 6: Of course she's on the phone.
- 5:43Speaker 2: All right.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm on the phone. You had no problem sitting
- 5:47Speaker 3: across from my six three ass when I was paying
- 5:50Speaker 3: for your dinner.
- 5:51Speaker 6: Can I not like tall girls? Is that illegal now?
- 5:54Speaker 3: You can like whoever you want. Just don't be about it.
- 5:58Speaker 6: Fair i'm not being a but i'm just saying you're
- 6:01Speaker 6: taller than me it's not what i'm into you.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Literally just called me the jolly green giant like that's
- 6:07Speaker 3: not a preference like that's you just being like.
- 6:09Speaker 6: A loser okay well you also never told me you're
- 6:12Speaker 6: six three was i.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Supposed to send you my like stats before the date
- 6:18Speaker 3: i mean.
- 6:18Speaker 6: If you play in the wmba yeah a heads up
- 6:21Speaker 6: would have been nice You are.
- 6:24Speaker 3: 5'11 and a half. Also, the fact that you keep
- 6:27Speaker 3: including the half tells me everything I.
- 6:31Speaker 6: Need to know about you.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Because I am.
- 6:34Speaker 4: I'm 5'11 and a half.
- 6:36Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Congratulations. Congratulations. Put it on your booster seat next time
- 6:41Speaker 3: you go to a restaurant.
- 6:43Speaker 6: See, now you're making fun of me in my height.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Have you stopped growing? Do you think there's a chance
- 6:48Speaker 4: you might hit a growth spurt there, William?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Maybe catch up?
- 6:50Speaker 4: Anything's possible.
- 6:51Speaker 6: Anything's possible.
- 6:53Speaker 4: I don't know, William.
- 6:53Speaker 5: It just seems like you can definitely have a preference
- 6:57Speaker 5: by all means, but you can communicate about it or
- 7:02Speaker 5: in the middle of the date, you know what I mean?
- 7:04Speaker 5: Just try to engage in the conversation because what Fiona
- 7:07Speaker 5: was telling us was that she was carrying the whole thing.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Also, I think if you weren't planning on having another date,
- 7:12Speaker 4: at least paying for half of the meal or thanking
- 7:15Speaker 4: her for the meal, that would be one thing.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I was like, oh, okay.
- 7:19Speaker 4: He doesn't know she's on the phone and he's saying
- 7:20Speaker 4: all these things.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But then you know she was on the phone, and
- 7:23Speaker 1: then you kept saying all the things.
- 7:24Speaker 3: So I was like, I can't really– there's no really
- 7:27Speaker 3: excuse for it.
- 7:27Speaker 2: You just are kind of not that nice.
- 7:30Speaker 6: I mean, she just whipped out the credit card, and
- 7:33Speaker 6: I was like, all right, well, I'm not going to
- 7:36Speaker 6: stop her. But at the same time, like, she knows.
- 7:41Speaker 6: She knows she's, you know, like an NBA player. Like,
- 7:45Speaker 6: she should– She should warn you? Why? If I had–
- 7:49Speaker 6: Some physical abnormality.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I might.
- 7:51Speaker 4: What?
- 7:52Speaker 6: Abnormality? Yeah, it's abnormal for a woman to be 6'3.
- 7:57Speaker 6: Now that's ridiculous.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And it's normal.
- 7:59Speaker 5: Okay, now you sound.
- 8:00Speaker 4: You're going to go with that's normal.
- 8:02Speaker 6: There's a bunch of you Amazonians walking around.
- 8:05Speaker 5: I don't think so. See, it's like you can't even
- 8:07Speaker 5: like him a little bit. Also, I know plenty of
- 8:11Speaker 5: people that love a stallion. So, I mean, obviously, like,
- 8:15Speaker 5: I mean, Fiona, he's not the one for you. I
- 8:17Speaker 5: feel like his insecurities are probably definitely coming out.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Yeah, our phone's going to blow up for Fiona, first
- 8:22Speaker 4: of all. Yeah. She's tall. She's pretty. And she pays
- 8:25Speaker 4: for dinner. It's going to never stop.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Also, his whole personality is rubbing me the wrong way.
- 8:31Speaker 1: But if you strip apart the personality... I could see
- 8:33Speaker 1: how in the conversation before the date, it should be
- 8:36Speaker 1: mentioned that, by the way, like if he was 5'2,
- 8:39Speaker 1: if he was a short guy and you're going, hey,
- 8:41Speaker 1: by the way, I'm whatever. I think height comes up
- 8:45Speaker 1: a lot on everything. So I would think that it
- 8:48Speaker 1: should have come up.
- 8:48Speaker 6: If I showed up in a wheelchair, you'd be like,
- 8:50Speaker 6: why didn't you mention this?
- 8:51Speaker 2: At the same time, I don't know, Fiona, are you
- 8:53Speaker 2: at all insecure about your height? You could be. I'm
- 8:55Speaker 2: not saying you should be, but are you?
- 8:57Speaker 5: No, I'm not.
- 8:58Speaker 3: And I actually feel like a lot of men like it.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Even men that are, like, I've dated men that are 5'10, 5'11. Right.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Probably the shortest they go is, like, probably 5'9, if
- 9:07Speaker 3: he's amazing. But, yeah, I've dated men. They love it.
- 9:09Speaker 3: And they think I'm hot. And I'm, like, a model.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I get it. At least that's what they've said.
- 9:13Speaker 1: They, like, love it.
- 9:14Speaker 3: So he should be secure.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I would just think that it would come up in
- 9:17Speaker 1: a conversation before the date.
- 9:19Speaker 6: But I can't. Like.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Unless Fiona assumes that William's like five or six.
- 9:24Speaker 6: Short kings at 5'8?
- 9:25Speaker 1: No, I'm also calling you a short king at five.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I don't think 5'11 is short at all. 5'11 and
- 9:29Speaker 1: a half is not short.
- 9:29Speaker 2: But when you're 6'3, I can see it. But he's
- 9:32Speaker 2: giving that energy, you know? I know.
- 9:34Speaker 1: So at any rate, she wanted to know why you
- 9:36Speaker 1: were blowing her off. She didn't want a second date
- 9:38Speaker 1: with you. She just wanted to know. So Fiona, you
- 9:40Speaker 1: got the answer. He's insecure about your height. It's not you.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Got it, and I'm glad I know now, and I
- 9:47Speaker 3: think everybody here knows now, and you're a loser.
- 9:49Speaker 1: It's not like he's a nice guy, and she's too tall.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It's not like he's a nice guy going, she's just
- 9:56Speaker 1: too tall for me.
- 9:58Speaker 2: It's like he's saying she's too tall and he's rude
- 10:00Speaker 2: about it.
- 10:01Speaker 4: In like a mean way.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Alright, William.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Thanks for jumping on the air with us. Fiona, we
- 10:07Speaker 1: will find you a tall person if you want. We
- 10:09Speaker 1: can find you great people.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I would love that. Thank you.
- 10:12Speaker 6: Alright, we'll hold.
- 10:14Speaker 5: On a little.
- 10:14Speaker 2: That's Second Aid Update, you guys. John Jay and Rich.
