- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39I'm willing to bet that you get tired every now and then.
- 0:42We all do. But if you have something more
- 0:45extreme than that, we're talking really intense fatigue, then
- 0:50this session may be of benefit. It's Adam here, and in this
- 0:54particular session I was working with a client that had post
- 0:58COVID fatigue, and it's a very, very extreme form of fatigue
- 1:04that can affect energy levels, clarity, neurological decision
- 1:09making, lots of things. In many ways, it kind of echoes
- 1:14autoimmune issues like me and fibromyalgia and things like
- 1:18that, but it is linked specifically to the aftermath of
- 1:22COVID. Now, this particular client had
- 1:25made a lot of progress. They've made lots of progress in
- 1:28different areas they felt like. They had.
- 1:30Understood things better, found their limits in certain areas
- 1:34and were making progress and actually built a team of people.
- 1:38They're working with me, but also working with other
- 1:41professionals to really help with their progress.
- 1:44And what this hypnosis session does is take storytelling and
- 1:49weaves it into a way of using metaphors so that they feel that
- 1:54they're on the right Rd. that they can deal with difficult
- 1:58things if it comes up. And it's actually a fusion of
- 2:01fairy tale language, but also using almost the universe of The
- 2:06Lion King. If you think of the the Kingdom
- 2:09of in Lion King, it's that backdrop that we use here rather
- 2:14than traditional fairy tale castles and things like that.
- 2:17But it still has fairy tale language.
- 2:20There was a metaphor here of quicksand.
- 2:22And that's really important because for them, when they
- 2:25would crash, it really felt like the more they try to recover,
- 2:31the more fatigue they felt. So quicksand was a really good
- 2:34metaphor for this particular client.
- 2:36And also the strategy to escape from quicksand is not by
- 2:40struggling more, it's by struggling less and shifting
- 2:42your balance. That's a very good metaphor for
- 2:45this particular client. It has this idea of a healing
- 2:49circle of helpers and also using timeline of connecting with the
- 2:54resources of a future version of themself that has already
- 2:58escaped this horrible fatigue syndrome that they were dealing
- 3:02with. There's lots going on here, and
- 3:05although the original client had a specific type of fatigue, I
- 3:10think the crux of this session would be beneficial with anyone
- 3:14that has fatigue as one of their symptoms from any kind of
- 3:18condition. And that might be fatigue
- 3:20through lack of sleep. That might be fatigue that is
- 3:23linked to some kind of autoimmune issue.
- 3:25But there might be something here that you can connect with.
- 3:28But just be aware that it was created specifically for an
- 3:31individual and some of the references might not equate to
- 3:35you because you're a different person than the client I was
- 3:38working with. So hone into anything useful.
- 3:40Disregard anything that isn't useful and if you like the idea
- 3:44of having a one to one session with me rather than just
- 3:48listening to recordings, check out the description.
- 3:50There's lots of free downloads, a free course on there, but also
- 3:54the ability to schedule a free consultation call.
- 3:57So if that's of interest, check that out.
- 3:59It's also available on my website whichisadamcox.co.uk.
- 4:04So if it's difficult to even find the more information, you
- 4:07can just go on a browser, type in adamcox.co.uk and then you
- 4:10can check out resources there, but also book a free
- 4:13consultation call. That said, you might find this
- 4:16session very useful. So find a quiet, comfortable
- 4:19place where you won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 4:22Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 5:01you breathe in, breathe in a feeling of pure calm and
- 5:09relaxation. And as you exhale, feel that
- 5:19wonderful feeling of release, as if any tension, stress, fatigue,
- 5:30or worry is gradually and incrementally leaving your body
- 5:40in that outward breath. And as you breathe in and
- 5:48breathe out, maybe you'll notice how slowly or how quickly your
- 6:01whole body starts to just relax now.
- 6:08And there may be clues just how slow and deep your breathing is.
- 6:15Tension feeling like it's melting away, eyelids feeling
- 6:21heavier, arms and legs feeling looser, more relaxed and sin.
- 6:33And maybe you've already noticed a subtle change, something
- 6:41that's not normally that way but feels different as your body
- 6:46gives you permission, the just let go.
- 6:55And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 7:01And the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe Lance in,
- 7:08and the more your body relaxes, the more your imagination
- 7:16awakens. And what if your imagination is
- 7:22a portal to create new normal pathways that lead to wonderful
- 7:31changes? So as you breathe in and breathe
- 7:36out, feel your whole body relaxing.
- 7:41Not because relaxation is necessary, but if you are going
- 7:47to go on that journey in your imagination, why not do it in
- 7:56such a way where while your body relaxes, your resources
- 8:03recharge. That's it.
- 8:08Drifting deeper and deeper now. And I want you to imagine,
- 8:24imagine what it would feel like to be a child hearing a story,
- 8:38perhaps a story about wisdom, a story about change, a story
- 8:48about our strength can learn through patience.
- 8:59So as you breathe in and breathe down, imagine hearing a voice
- 9:06that begins a story, perhaps with the phrase Once Upon a Time
- 9:17Far far away. And I want you to imagine what
- 9:28it would feel like for that story to talk about warm winds
- 9:37moving across long grasses as your imagination starts to
- 9:44imagine an ancient African Kingdom.
- 9:54And there's something powerful about the Savannah.
- 10:00Notice how wide the horizons are.
- 10:09So imagine that golden Savannah stretching as far as the eyes
- 10:15can see. There's a Casey of trees
- 10:20scattered like guardians. And I want you to imagine a
- 10:27great rock rising in the distance.
- 10:34And that rock overlooks plains filled with life.
- 10:42And sometimes when you hear a story, your imagination makes
- 10:50you a character or an observer in the story.
- 10:58So imagine feeling that the air is warm, not heavy, but somehow
- 11:09relaxing. And I want you to imagine
- 11:17hearing this story. You are not a Princess in a
- 11:23tower. You are a guardian of this land.
- 11:30A wise traveller, perhaps, or a future leader, strong in obvious
- 11:41ways and deeply capable still. But something has changed in
- 11:52this story. In this Kingdom, a strange spell
- 12:00has fallen upon you. Not a visible curse, not chains,
- 12:11but a spell of fatigue, uncertainty, invisible limits.
- 12:23And the elders of that Kingdom whispered that this spell is
- 12:28unusual, a paradox, that the more you struggle against it,
- 12:40the heavier it feels. And I want you to imagine.
- 12:51Imagine. Somewhere in the Kingdom is a
- 12:56bog of quicksand, impossible to see unless you're already in it.
- 13:08And I want you to imagine seeing someone from your Kingdom stuck
- 13:15in that quicksand. And at first they try to fight
- 13:21it. It feels obvious, intuitive, the
- 13:31right thing to do, to push through, to prove strength.
- 13:39But as you observe, each forceful movement pulls them
- 13:44deeper, and I want you to imagine what it would feel like
- 13:54to feel that you are in that quicksand.
- 14:02Imagine, as you feel it, that the more you thrash, move,
- 14:07struggle, the deeper you sink. But you are wise, connected to
- 14:17the universal intelligence of your Kingdom.
- 14:23You remember something you heard long ago, that the animals of
- 14:29the Savannah survive not through panic, but through instinct and
- 14:34stillness. So instead of fighting, imagine
- 14:41that you widen your arms, slow your breathing, distribute your
- 14:52weight, you lean forward, and suddenly the sinking slows.
- 15:05Because quicksand responds to struggle, but it stabilizes with
- 15:16balance. And I want you to imagine you
- 15:25are not alone there in the quicksand.
- 15:31Imagine a team of healers surrounding the quicksand, and
- 15:39as you steady yourself, distribute that weight.
- 15:49I want you to get a sense that you have collective wisdom and
- 15:57resources to help escape the quicksand.
- 16:08Maybe you imagine the faces, or four or more helpers, healers,
- 16:19resources. These are not warriors, and
- 16:27they're not magicians with ones, but they are wise allies.
- 16:37Perhaps you could imagine one bringing trance altered states
- 16:44unlocking the power of your imagination, and perhaps one of
- 16:50them brings deep conversation and reflection.
- 16:59And maybe 1 brings sacred medicine administered with care,
- 17:06and another as magic in their hands that restore the body
- 17:12through touch. And imagine they form a circle
- 17:20around you. They are on solid ground, you
- 17:23still in the quicksand, not sinking anymore, but still
- 17:29presently stuck. And this circle around you is
- 17:36not to rescue you, but to give you the support to escape the
- 17:43quicksand yourself. Each one of them, working with
- 17:53yourself, starts to lift the spell, not in one dramatic
- 18:01moment, but gradually, inch by inch.
- 18:11And I want you to imagine what it would feel to use the wisdom
- 18:17and the help from this circle around you to feel that you can
- 18:26lean forward, work your legs up, and then slowly and steadily
- 18:36crawl forward. You may have noticed how a small
- 18:46insect can walk on the surface of a pond.
- 18:54Their weight is distributed, but a Pebble plops straight through.
- 19:03As you distribute your weight, you become a starfish on top of
- 19:11the quicksand, and you slowly, gradually make your way to the
- 19:18edge. And I want you to get a sense of
- 19:24what it feels like to be leaving the quicksand with a new found
- 19:33sense of perspective. As you walk to that large rock
- 19:48that overseas the Kingdom, your healers walk with you.
- 19:56And as time passes in this Kingdom, you begin to notice
- 20:04changes. The grass grows greener again.
- 20:11Animals return in greater numbers.
- 20:16Your breath feels steadier. It's not about explosive energy,
- 20:24not about a grand triumph, more about a sustainable rhythm.
- 20:34What if subtly, you begin to walk differently, think
- 20:39differently, feel differently? Not rushing, not collapsing, not
- 20:45the highs and the lows, but something more stable and
- 20:48steady. Let's call it calibrated like a
- 20:55lion who knows when to rest in the shade and when to move with
- 21:00precision. But imagine something
- 21:07extraordinary happens in this story.
- 21:13The wise Elder leads you to the very peak of the great rock, and
- 21:24from its peak you don't just see the space and the horizons of
- 21:30your Kingdom. You can see the past, the
- 21:38present and the future. And in the distance you see
- 21:45yourself in the future. Strong, energized, balanced.
- 21:56Not the old version, not that struggling version, a wiser 1 as
- 22:04you conclude that this future self has already found the
- 22:11solution. And you don't need to know if it
- 22:16was medical, neurological, emotional or simply time and
- 22:24adaptation. You just know that it exists
- 22:29there in your future. And imagine the elder says to
- 22:36you, time is a river and you are allowed to draw water from
- 22:45downstream to travel downstream to the future self and place
- 22:56their hand upon your chest and feel what it would feel for
- 23:03something to transfer future intelligence, beliefs,
- 23:09strategies, perhaps even technology transfers from the
- 23:15future to you in the present. Not magic, but information.
- 23:26A pattern, perhaps a cellular memory of recovery.
- 23:32Absorb it in, breathe it in. Feel that future change entering
- 23:40your nervous system now. And the more you accept this
- 23:48invitation, the more powerful it becomes.
- 23:56And you're unconscious, wants to calibrate and recalibrate, does
- 24:03it not? So feel subtle changes in your
- 24:09muscles, your blood, your mind, as if your body begins
- 24:14rehearsing that future state now.
- 24:21And I want you to see that future version of you is proud.
- 24:32Proud of what you're going through and proud of who you're
- 24:34becoming. Because as you descend from the
- 24:38rock, you connect to something. At no point did you surrender
- 24:49your hope. At no point did you stop seeking
- 24:55help. At no point did you abandoned
- 24:59yourself. You were more tenacious than you
- 25:04ever realized, more faithful, more resilient.
- 25:13This recognition changes something fundamental.
- 25:19The goal was never to be back as you were before.
- 25:24It was to come out the other side enhanced in some way.
- 25:30So feel your respect for yourself, deepening, amplifying,
- 25:40and just imagine finding one of those large Acacia trees that
- 25:46give shade even in the Savannah, and you reflect.
- 25:54This challenge was unwanted, unfair, undesired, painful, but
- 26:03you start to see gifts hidden in its shadow.
- 26:09Greater patience, maybe deeper empathy, a new level of
- 26:17self-awareness, a greater respect.
- 26:24Forrest and downtime may be gratitude for vitality, and as
- 26:35you think about the Kingdom, you realize that sometimes storms
- 26:41damage the land but also renew the soil.
- 26:48And of course, you would not have chosen the storm, but you
- 26:53can honour and appreciate what it revealed.
- 27:02Imagine that team of healers gathering around you once more.
- 27:08Not to celebrate dramatically, they just nod, a sense that this
- 27:15spell is lifting in quiet, consistent recalibration.
- 27:26And just like the quicksand, you now know that if you ever do
- 27:30find yourself feeling stuck because you've escaped before,
- 27:39escaping again feels doable, manageable.
- 27:51Something that you can escape from quickly, even when your
- 27:58first experience made it feel paralysing and scary.
- 28:13Connect with that future and present awareness, Balance the
- 28:20ability to harness help when needed, and start to feel your
- 28:29horizons opening up. You've already seen downstream,
- 28:39but imagine the not too distant future.
- 28:43Now imagine waking up with energy that feels stable, food
- 28:53feels level, not euphoric and not depleted, balanced where
- 29:05you're able to move through your Kingdom with grounded authority
- 29:12and renewed gratitude for health, with respective limits
- 29:19and trusting your body once more.
- 29:26And you may never know if the spell is fully lifted.
- 29:33You'll just know what it feels like, and one day things will
- 29:40feel indistinguishable from life without the spell, and that it
- 29:51will be a good day. One good day will lead to many
- 29:56more good days, until one day that spell will feel like a
- 30:04memory, unwanted but still gave you something powerful, a new
- 30:16level of perspective and patience.
- 30:23But maybe you always need it, and this just happened to be the
- 30:31way that it arrived. As you return from that fairy
- 30:42tale land, you return feeling that you are healing, you are
- 30:48recalibrating, and you have more resilience than you ever
- 30:53realized. And whatever unfolds, you will
- 31:00meet it with more wisdom than you did before.
- 31:06And just imagine that Storyteller closes the book.
- 31:14The story finishes, but something feels like it shifted
- 31:19within you. Take a deep breath in through
- 31:24your eyes and out through your nose.
- 31:29Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes.
- 31:31Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 31:36from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 31:40Starting to count 123 Waking up 456.
- 31:46More alert 7-8 Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 31:55Wide awake, Wide awake. Wide awake.
